Great bar/restaurant, friendly staff, good prices.Breakfast very good.Would definitelyuse when we come back in 2020.

Went for a quick business lunch (1 hr-1&1/4 hr tops) and was not only disappointed in the time it took to order and get our food but when it arrived one in our party had pasta that was so under cooked that she couldn't eat it and had to send it back. The manager was great and did not charge us for the dish and let our person take it home since we were all finished by the time they brought it back to the table. The restaurant needs to figure out that business lunches in NYC need to have food come out that not only tastes great but is served quickly. If the ST George Tavern can achieve this they will succeed as a venue to be reckoned with. Oh and yes my food under the pix fix menu offerings was good. (onion Soup and Crab cake sandwich $20.00) although I never did get my diet coke.

Food was uneven. Some things lived up to description. Others, not so much. Items delivered by room service were better than those eaten in the restaurant. Service indifferent to totally lacking. About half the seating is on high stools, which can be difficult for some people to use.

This restaurant is a short walk from either the 9-11 site or Wall St. It is quiet and the food is very good. I can recommend the chicken parmesan. The staff is also friendly and helpful. Our waiter also suggested other restaurants we might enjoy. Worth a visit.

Ordered Eggs Benedict at the Tavern and they were cooked perfectly. It is a very small place (and extremely busy) so If you have to head out quickly for the day, plan accordingly. They also seat at the bar which we did our 2nd morning (since they didn't have a table available). That was first - eating breakfast at bar. š Service was very good and food was out quickly. I would return again.

Really friendly staff who remembered our drinks order the second time we came in. Lovely food but a limited menu. Breakfast was really good with free coffee refills with the waiter bringing us cups so we could take some out.

This former 1812 church is now a full fledged tavern serving cold beer, pub favorites, and Chinese fare on the second floor. While we didnāt go to the Chinese place, we stuck to the menu on the first floor and enjoyed the tuna tartare very much. Conveniently located right next to the Holiday Inn, Financial District.

Great Breakfast place for a family and kids, great offer and awesome option of breaks from kids to adults, a wide range to choose from.

After lots of walking and needing lunch, we decided to try it and were very pleased we did! We both loved our sandwiches which somehow were exceptional versions of the usual - in this case grilled chicken and a chicken club. Both came with really good fries too! Waiter was very nice. Would definitely recommend as well as return myself! Thanks!

We had breakfast included in our BA Holidays deal, glad we did as I felt the price was quite high. Choice of around 8 different breakfasts all based around eggs. There was a buffet style breakfast upstairs I dont know what that was like or what price they charged. We also had a drink one evening - 50$ for 4 drinks !!! Very expensive but I suppose same as London City ?!?

We decided to try this restaurant as it was attached to our hotel and very convenient for us. We were not disappointed. The atmosphere is very nice and cozy. The food and beer is reasonably priced and good value for your money. I ordered the stuffed chicken while my husband ordered the roast chicken. Both were delicious and served quickly. My meal was delivered a little cold, but a quick word to our waiter had it back to me in a few minutes and piping hot. No complaints at all. The Molten chocolate lava cake was a great way to finish our meal. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place. We'll definitely try it again on our next NYC visit.

Stayed at the Holiday Inn Hotel for 5 days. Attempted to use tavern twice but on both occasions staff members extremely rude. They lack the most basic customer service skills. Won't return. Avoid

Food never arrived. After 45 min wait I had to leave without service. Disorganized and decidedly unfriendly staff. No apologies offered. Canāt tell about the food. It never arrived.

The restaurant is connected to the Holiday Inn Financial District, and is very convenient for travelers on business. I ate breakfast and dinner there each day as a solo traveler and it worked out nicely. The morning service was good and the evening service better. The food was not exceptional but was consistently good between a prior trip and this trip. The General Tso Chicken was really good as was a Kale Salad with Chicken. The Happy Hour prices are excellent but the noise level was pretty intense at times during the dinner hour.

I think this place has a great deal of potential. It's laid out well and the staff are nice. The menu is very limited to basically bar food. It is good food prepared well from the one meal I ate there, but it is important not to expect a 5 star meal. I will be staying at the hotel it is connected to again in the future and will give them a very fair chance to earn a higher mark. I think they can do it.

I find the concept of a tavern in an old church interesting, but that didn't last long as I was totally unhappy with the food (Singapore noodles were so salty), service was rude and slow. I could only hope that the food and service on the lower level is better. The only good thing is that the prices were good. Still not enough to warrant a return visit. If we weren't staying nearby at a nearby hotel, we would not have come here for dinner.

This is the restaurant right next to the lobby of the Holiday Inn Financial District. It is a combination bar and restaurant. We were seated quickly for dinner because the place was not overly crowded. The atmosphere was quite nice, seats are comfortable. There was no loud music blaring, so you can have a decent conversation. Food was good. I had the salmon, my niece had the stuffed mushrooms and my son had a steak. Nothing extraordinary. Service was also quick. Our server was not as attentive as I expect because we were out of drinks and he failed to come and refill our drinks despite the place not being that busy. We had to catch his attention as he was busy folding napkins or something. All in all, he was till courteous.

The staff was great, but the food was mediocre. The poached eggs on the Eggs Benedict were hard boiled and tasted of vinegar.

The restaurant was located near my hotel and since I was very tired and it was late - I decided to give it a try. The online reviews are all over the place so I asked the concierge at my hotel and was told it was OK, so I decided to chance it. Food was moderately priced and good quality. I was there on a Sunday night and it was pretty empty. My server was average, but I wasn't looking for a lot of attention so it suited me. I had the Pork Soup Dumplings & the Shrimp with Garlic Sauce. I don't mind waiting for soup dumplings - if they are made well, they are well worth the wait. These were a bit disappointing. The pork filing had good flavor and the dumpling skin was thin & delicate like it should be, but I was disappointed because there was hardly any "soup" in the dumpling. They should be round like a little golf ball with the filling floating in the middle of the soup inside the dumpling skin. These were deflated and looked more like a large ravioli with just a little soup inside. But they were hot and had good flavor. The Shrimp with Garlic Sauce was better, but did not come with any rice. Rice is apparently an a la carte order. Odd. Unfortunately I was eating late and by the time I realized rice was a separate order - the kitchen had stopped taking orders. No rice for me. It was tasty on its own - the shrimp were just cooked through and they were lightly sauced in a flavorful garlic sauce. I don't like it when the dish is drowned in sauce. I prefer just a light coating. Overall I'd probably give it another try but only if I was in the area - I wouldn't make a pilgrimage from another area of the city to eat here.

only had drinks here but judging by the amount of people getting food, well worth a visit. lovely staff and great extended happy hour!

The tavern has a nice variety of choices on the menu. Since we were staying at the attached hotel, we had dinner and breakfast here. Some of the members of our party are very picky eaters and they were very happy with both of their meals.

Had a meal at the St George's Tavern. Meals were ok without being great, service was efficient but not overly welcoming, prices were a bit high but it is in Manhattan. The decor and seating were good and it had a nice atmosphere.

We were tired from a day of exploring NYC and decided to have dinner at this restaurant next door to our hotel. The service was good and the burger and fries were very good.

I want to say thank you to all of the staff of ST George Tavern, it's always like to come back home. Just a little suggestion about the menu for the dinner sometimes could be better change a little bit, but the food is great. Thank you

NY Strip was amazing, haircot verts perfect. French onion soup was average at best, but lots of cheese which is all I ended up eating. Apple pie very good.

It was adjacent to hotel and I stopped in for a nightcap. Two different cocktails were inadequate -- I should have walked another half-block to Sauce & Barrel.

This restaurant is competitively priced for Manhattan. You can expect to pay $20 for dinner. Good alcohol selection and a good music selection. The bartender Sharinna is really entertaining.

Great staff and quick service. Convenient to Holiday Inn. Fresh ingredients, fresh made. Followed instructions regarding no mayo perfectly.

Had breakfast here, service was great and food was tasty. The portions are generous, even for the kid's meal. The waiter offered me a coffee to go. Never had that before. Atmosphere is laid back. Highly recommendš

As part of the Holiday Inn Hotel We tried the food in the restaurant we were very happy to have breakfast and our evening meal there every day. There was a buffet breakfast or a menu breakfast both were very good. The food was cooked to order and was of a very high standard we had th 3 courses if you cant eat 3 I would go for the main meaal and a dessert you will not be dissapointed

The St. George is next door to, and connected with, the Holiday Inn next door to it. It feels like a place having a slight identity crisis. The sign labels it as an "American and French" bistro, but there wasn't much that came across as French. They seem to share a kitchen with the Chinese restaurant on the second floor, and there is some "cross pollination" in menu choices. We got a few different things, and it seemed the quality varied as much as our selections. The burger was actually very good. It was juicy, and with the addition of cheese and bacon (extra charge for each) made it a tasty choice. The spring rolls, on the other hand, were not a fan favorite. Bland, and a bit oilier than they should have been, they had a slightly off aftertaste that might have been old oil being used. The chicken club was okay, but nothing outstanding. If you are pinched for time, or simply don't want to leave the hotel (like waiting right around check-out time) then it is worth a go, but don't expect to be "wowed!"

This week Iām staying at the Holiday Inn Financial District in Manhattan. Attached to the hotel is the ārestaurant (note, Iām using that term loosely). This ādark, roomā is definitely not somewhere that youād want to eat your breakfast from. Itās dirty, the staff do not understand English as theyāre all Chinese and the food service area was disgusting. There is nothing nice about this venue and it is a shame because, in the right hands, it could be a gold mine.

We ate here our first night. It is located in the Holiday Inn. We had checked in late and had not had a chance to scope out the neighborhood. The menu had a nice variety of selections and the both the food and service was very good.

Directly next door to the Holiday Inn in the Financial District, you kind of have to look for the door to this place. Love the look of the interior. Food-wise, the menu says Asian food but they do some pasta and things too. I had the Kung Pao Chicken and it was delicious! Highly recommend Happy Hour at the bar, great deals on delicious drinks. Gummy Bear Martinis!!

They have a full service bar (which I greatly appreciated) and a so-so sized menu. But, I was pleasantly surprised by the shrimp risotto. The sauce was quite tasty. If you're in the area, its worth a stop.

Great to have Tavern inside of Holiday Inn. Staff were kind, smiling and the food was very tasty and served beautifully. Would truly recommend; a great way to start your day.

There are so many little downtown bars and restaurants in Manhattan. St. George Tavern is a lovely little bar set just off 9/11 Memorial - ideal location adjacent to several hotels, the waterfront, financial district etc. Not noisy with typical NY ambience. Great for a drink to start or finish the evening.

Eat a Steak with smash potato and salad. So delicious Salmon with green beans, or you can changed by spinach like Popeye jeje. The restaurant is beautiful an d the attend was nice. I recommend this place to share in couple or family

My parents were staying in the Holiday Inn for a week and this restaurant is within the hotel (also external access). So, we had breakfast here every day (which was quick and good value) and the bar is nice in the evening. Not as busy as some NYC bars but very pleasant for conversations

Attached to the Holiday Inn in the financial district. We stopped in here a couple of nights for a nightcap before going back to our room. Nice bar. Asian restaurant upstairs.

This deli is the jewel in the crown in NYC financial district. We were staying at the Hoilday Inn and we had breakfast here every day. Lots of breakfast croissants with various fillings and great coffees. Although we mostly had breakfast, we did have a few afternoon visits where we had the most delicious cakes. There is also a wide range of cheese cakes too. Very reasonably priced.Staff are very welcoming and spend time to have a chat with you. Highly recommend this deli.

Not really sure what type of restaurant this was. Upstairs was an Asian place?? But without judgement this was ok. We walked in at 3pm, not a person in the place. Decor was ok. Nice atmosphere. Traditional menu. My husband and I split muscles and a burger. They were great. Muscles were spivey, but perfect, and the burger was cooked to perfection. Great service. Reasonable prices. Just an empty place.

The St. George Tavern offers a wonderful, relaxing atmosphere for its amazing, fresh food! (And, if you stay at the Holiday Inn Manhattan-Financial District next door, you get a discount at the St. George.)

A unique irish/western style tavern with Chinese menu items. I found the service to be reasonably prompt with solid food choices. If food is not your thing, a full service bar is available with a wide spectrum of alcohol. But, some servers without much class will apply a standard 18% gratuity before receiving the bill, while others do not.

We used this bar as its joined onto the holiday inn so convenient to call in for breakfast, beers, ect but wow like the rest of Newyork it's just totally overpriced for what you get. 2 beers in the afternoon and 2 bowls of onion soup, the 2 chicken club sandwiches came to around $55 and although it was OK it wasn't worth the overpriced charge. The same with breakfast this is the only place in America for were we have stayed in 20 years of visiting the States were they charge you for each cup of coffee or tea with your breakfast. Normally all these places offer free refills. So 2 omletts, with some toast and coffee, tea was around $30 and nothing fantastic. This place was full in the morning of Flight Attendants for Norwegian Airlines staying in the hotel (Holiday Inn) next door so they tended to take priority over paying guests like we were at the time. The whole bar & resturant seems to be in need of a face lift and in honesty a ruddy good clean. But like I say it's expensive but it's no different than the rest of Newyork. Utter Rip Off. Would we return, Nope the only reason we used this is we were picking up a cruise in a couple of days so was convenient.

By the name, wouldn't you think this British or Scottish? Nope. It actually has an Asian decor. The food is good, the wine and beer selection limited, and the service good. Probably of most interest to the guests staying in the hotel next door.

It was our second time stay at the hotel in Holiday Inn. And everyday we ate our breakfast at this restaurant. Its crowded in the morning, but Coleen the restaurant manager and her staff always found place for us. We met Coleen every morning and she was very courteous and friendly. On our anniversary she made it even more special with the cheese cake and candle. That just made our day and it was a wonderful surprise. The restaurant is a bit tight but they have great food to offer. Its a great place with restaurant and bar. On the top level of the restaurant, they have excellent Chinese food. So you can choose between both the cuisines. Highly recommend this place.

Four of us went here for breakfast one morning before heading to the 9/11 memorial site and it was a great place for breakfast (a little dark though). The restaurant was originally a chapel so it's pretty cool and it's connected to the Holiday Inn. The service was friendly and prompt and the food plentiful.

The restaurant is attached to the Holiday Inn Financial District. Which makes it a great location for those coming in from a flight that just want something to eat now. Typical New York prices, food was decent and the atmosphere was relaxing.

Set in an old church hall this was an excellent place for lunch. The service was friendly, the food good with a choice of a set menu or "Al a Carte". Not 5 star gourmet dining but good wholesome cuisine. Upstairs is a Chinese Restaurant run by the same family.

Great Food, Good Service all at a very reasonable price for New York City. Breakfast is particularly good and is a great value. Attached to the Holiday Inn on Washington & Rector in the financial district. Very quaint architecture as well as vey comfortable!

Visited here after a long day of touristy stuff, on a whim really, as all other bars in the area were a little too hectic for our mood. This is the bar/restaurant connected to the (worlds tallest!) Holiday Inn, but donāt let that discount it. A former Syrian Church, aesthetically this place is interesting. We took a seat at the bar and were greeted immediately by a nice bartender eager to get us some drinks. Thereās a wide range of draft beers and a decent enough cocktail selection. I had a blue moon and my friend had a cocktail of some description(I forget). We found this to be an ideal venue to sit and mull over the days events, whilst planning tomorrowās. After several more drinks we got talking to the bartender, named Adim, who was good fun with a very eclectic music taste(no need to pay for a juke box here!) Before the night was over the manager gave everybody at the bar a complimentary nightcap, which was a fine note to end on. We visited several more times after, thanks to the great hospitality shown by Adim and others. Definitely worth paying a visit if in the area, and certainly if youāre staying in the adjacent Holiday Inn.

I was sorry that I even walked into the place. Service was slow from the start and the breakfast was cook all wrong. Server did not come over to the table once after food was served. The only time the staff came over was when we had to pay the bill.

I brought a group here for lunch and it was underwhelming to say the very least. My group was not happy. It was dark and sad. We were the only ones there until 2 guests came about an hour later. The service was rude, I had never experienced anything like it. The burgers were okay. One guest had a pasta with some type of steak and couldn't eat the steak. The black bean veggie burgers were inedible. We were all happy when we left. If you stick strictly to their menu, do not need any extras such as ketchup, salt, sauce, or a constant missing piece of silverware, then it may do the job if you're in and out.

Great food with good selection. Attached to Holiday Inn and you can get room service from here. Has been around since the 1800's!

We ate breakfast at this restaurant and it was very convenient. The food was decent - nothing too fancy, but very affordable. We found that it is better to get here early in the morning (i.e. 6a) before the daily rush.

Ate here while staying at the Holiday Inn. Mostly Chinese food which seems odd for a place called St George Tavern. I like Chinese food but this was just average. I guess they get enough business from the holiday inn to stay in business. They were not busy at all while I was there.

Stayed at Holiday Inn, so had lunch while waiting for our ride to airport. Had a very good burger and really good fries. Friendly staff. Menu has a lot of bar food options. Wonderful pub interior. Many tv sets if you want to watch sports.

Stayed on business in a nearby hotel. Restaurant choices in area were limited. This restaurant had character, good food and fair prices. Menu offerings were limited but enough to choose from. Recommended if you are in the area. Short walk to Trinity Church and Wall Street.

This is one very odd place. I would not have eaten, but it was late and my wife and I were to tired to start walking around looking for something else. We stayed at the hotel that's next door so this place won by default. The first thing you notice is that the health department has given them a B rating. This is a HUGE red flag. Any place that isn't an A should be avoided. When we came in the music playing was Mexican. Very odd for the look of the place. The menu was also pretty odd, leaning heavily to Asian cuisine. Again, very odd for the look (and name) of the place. The food itself was actually very good. No clue how clean it might have been, but it tasted much better than expected. After we finished our main dinner, our server vanished. It was another 30 minutes before anyone paid us any attention. Now this might be a little understandable if they were busy, but the place was a ghost town. The bottom line here is that there are more than enough pubs and restaurants in the city. If I hadn't been so rushed I wouldn't have selected this place to begin with once I saw the rating, which would have been the way to go.

Enjoyed a luncheon at St. George's Tavern, attached to the Holiday Inn during our visit to south Manhattan. We had a good meal in this friendly bar/resteraunt with no complaints. Would recommend without hesitation!

Waiter was kind and considerate. Food was good but pricey. Two could easily eat from one meal. Portions are very generous.

Breakfast there deserves it. You won't be disappointed for a couple USD more. And very surprising quality on lunch and dinner. The staff is really friendly and the restaurant has that old style that makes you forget about the rush outside.

Solid tavern, I liked the atmosphere. I had dinner one night and breakfast another as this restaurant was attached to my hotel. The food was reasonable for NYC but it was just OK, nothing special.

St G formed part of the (Hol Inn) hotel we stayed at. Only had a beer there..pint of Sam Adams cost $8..but they operate a HH from 5-8pm.

They had 8, good lunch options at a set price. Neat atmosphere. The staff was very helpful and friendly.

Surprisingly good really. Sangria was good. Vodka penne rich and yummy. Croque Mossieuer tasty, greens were yummy with them. Desserts good, service good!

I was here cause it was the nearest nice place to the hotel, but finally I really like the place. Good choice of draft beers and good food at the wooden bar. Nice place for a quite evening

In all fairness, i only had a bowl of chowder and a beer. soup was almost hot but still pretty mediocre. Beer was good!

Next to to hotel, very nice food and good prices, did not seem to change menu much which got a bit boring after 3 weeks, however guess the average traveler won't be staying here for 3 weeks in one go

We ate last night at St. George Tavern on Washington St. It was very good!!! I had a couple of good wines and the service was pretty good. I ordered the Avocado and Pear salad and it was fineā¦not great!!! I also ordered a side of spinach and it also was fineā¦not great!!!! This is a nice place but not a great placeā¦..nice ambiance and it was close to my hotel!!!!!!

My friend and I went here for lunch on Sunday, Sept. 30, at 12:45. The place was less than half full. As we stood by the door for several minutes waiting to be seated, another couple walked in behind us and the host immediately strode over, warmly embraced them, and then seated them. My friend said, "Let's go," and we were about to, when the host returned and seated us. We looked over the menus, made our choices, and then both pulled out our laptops because this was a working lunch. Time passed and passed as 3 waiters plus the host circulated, cleared tables, took orders, and the place slowly filled up. Nobody came to our table, not even to bring a glass of water. We tried to signal for service, but were ignored. An hour later (no kidding, I checked my watch), when we had finished our business, still no one had come to our table. So we left. On our way out, we mentioned to the nearest waiter that we had been there an hour with no service. She said sorry, but the host had told her we were taken care of. Really!? There weren't even water glasses on our table.

Food was above average compared to other places we ate at in this area. We loved how friendly the staff were. We had more than enough to eat and got our food to take back to our room. They were very accommodating.

My husband and I stopped in here for a dinner recently. It had a nice, quiet atmosphere with lots of old wood decor. My salmon dinner was excellent and my husband enjoyed his meal as well. It was moderately priced and service was fine.

Nice friendly restaurant, bar food with most tastes catered for. Nothing was to much trouble for them. Clean and tidy. Approx $120 for family of 4

This place was convenient, offered a small breakfast menu. Ray kept our coffee full and remembered us the next morning. Great customer ask for Ray he was knowledgeable about the area, very efficient. He made suggestions For us to do in our short time in NY..

Poor quality food. Ordered steak and eggs for breakfast. Steak was unidentifiable, very fatty and grisly. Workers didn't seem to care. Restaurant had a distinct odor. It smelled old and musty.

After a harrowing two hour cab ride from JLK to our Financial District hotel we were too pooped, too hungry and too P.O.ed to spend any effort trying to secure dinner reservations. We had pre-booked three of our four nights before leaving our stately pleasure dome on the beach at Indian Shores (Florida). We left the first night open in case what happened, happened. We checked in to the Holiday Inn on Washington knowing that the hotel had a restaurant, but we are a little hesitant to patronize hotel restaurants. Instead, we decided to wander about the neighborhood in search of a food venue that might offer something other than the ubiquitous standards found in many hotels. The Belle of Gulf Boulevard and I circled the block and to our great surprise we spied the St. George Tavern right next door to the hotel. My bride then pointed out that the St. George was the hotel's restaurant. Well, it did look enticing, so we went in and were greeted warmly and promptly seated. Liz was our ever so delightful server who presented us with menus and took our order for a couple of medicinal adult beverages. My bride and I felt the trials and tribulations of travel being washed away as we looked over the menu that leaned towards Chinese-American dishes as well as some Italian and some simple American grub. The Belle chose as her entree the Beef and Pan Fried Noodles. I was allowed a taste and the beef strips were fairly tender, the sauce was savory, and the pan fried noodles had a delightful crispy texture. I have made similar at home and this dish got my seal of approval. What grabbed the attention of my buds of taste was the Salt and Pepper Soft Shell Crab, a tasty and crispy gift from the sea that was perfectly prepared and served on a bed of mixed greens. This was listed as an appetizer, but with a few more bites of my bride's beef and noodles and another bottle or two of the Mermaid pilsner I was done. While chatting with Liz we discovered that the St. George has a secret Chinese menu that we could have ordered from, which we tried to do on a subsequent visit. Some of the more exotic dishes that I simply craved were only available during exclusive dinner parties held "up stairs" by the owner. Oh, poop! What we ate at the St. George was good, though not particularly memorable. The bill for several adult beverages and the food came to a very reasonable $39.78. We did tack on a 20% plus gratuity for Liz. In retrospect, the St. George was the least expensive and least pretentious dining spot we found in Manhattan. We had breakfast all four mornings at the St. George compliments of the hotel. Service in the morning was a little iffy when Liz was off duty, while service at night was terrific.

This hotel is attached to the Holiday Inn Manhattan. It has a long, skinny layout with and old wooden bar running the length of one wall and the overall aesthetic resembles a pub. My service here was excellent. My waiter was extremely attentive and checked up on me frequently. I customized my food order a bit, and they complied without batting an eye and served it up exactly as requested (nothing crazy - asked for chicken on a salad that doesn't normally come with chicken (another one does) and changed up the dressing). As far as the actual quality and taste of the food, I'm no gourmand, but I wasn't impressed. The chicken served on my salad had a 'chewy' texture. Even though it was cut very thin and white throughout, it still had a texture as if it was not fully cooked. I ate it anyway without complaining, so I can't say how they would have handled the complaint, and I suffered no ill effect. But it just wasn't quite right. I also had their vegetable spring rolls, which were deep fried and flavorless - seemed almost like a Sysco frozen product thrown in the deep fryer. That was just one experience, and in the middle of the financial district, their food was reasonably priced and served quickly. Overall, I'll rate them average but would be willing to try the place again - they had some steak and some roasted chicken dishes that looked pretty good on the menu.

We were staying in the Marriott Downtown Hotel close by and had 6 hours before we had to be at the airport but had to check out of the hotel, so we were looking for a place to hang out for awhile and watch the NCAA basketball tournament on a Saturday afternoon. This bar filled the bill for us. It is in an old church that has been renovated and it has a long bar and raised relief wood panelling on the walls. If they would refinish the bar and the walls this place would be beautiful. We had the bar basically to ourselves on this Saturday afternoon and we perched ourselves on bar stools right in front of a TV and watched the games. Beer was good (IPA and a Guiness) and we shared a Calamari appetizer and a Chicken Club sandwich, which were both very good. With a little refinishing TLC this place would be awesome.

We ate dinner here and were amazed at how good it was, The place has a great history and lots of dark wood, soak up the history as you dine! The food was superb and the service so friendly and attentive! The Croque Monsieur is not to be missed. It is warm, buttery and melts in your mouth! Not just me, but another nearby diner ordered it and I almost went over to tell her it was so delicious! When Stephen received her order, she looked at her date and stated, āOh my gosh, this is so good, it melts in your mouthā so that affirmed my opinion that I had already expressed to my husband. The Spaghetti and Meatball was delicious and actually came with four large meatballs, so a great surprise since the menu said meatball. We enjoyed it so much we came back for breakfast the next morning, and it was wonderful, too! It was full of morning diners so we waited a bit for a table, but knew it would we worth the wait. Good food cooked to order for all these nearby. we all orders different items and everyone was pleased with their food! Really not to be missed for a great meal, service and price!

Walked in off the street just down from the Downtown Marriott. Wonderful salad with nice fresh bread. Chicken sandwich piled high, delicious. Enjoyed a pint of Kelso Nut Brown beer, one of many to choose from. Service was prompt and courteous.

We ate in here twice and the food was very very good. The buffet breakfast was good value , the evening meal was lovely too worth a visit

DO NOT USE. We visited here a few weeks ago for breakfast while staying in the holiday inn. I paid by credit card and left a tip (which I wish I hadn't) but it was charged to our room aswell. We have tried to resolve this by providing receipts but they are UNWILLING to return emails and phone calls to give us our money back. STEER CLEAR.

We stopped in after a long day at Liberty Island & Ellis Island. Cute place. Wasn't too busy. Very attentive service. They couldn't make our first drink we ordered, but we ended up with nice cocktails. We had an appetizer, which was good, better than ok, but not great. Weren't expecting a lot, I must admit when we ordered our entre selection. Our dinner's were GREAT!!!! Served very hot, which I loved. Even with pasta - and the pasta wasn't over done. Excellent. Loved the meals. One of the best we've had in awhile.

We should have known that this was not a great place to eat as there were few people in the restaurant during lunch hour. The service was fine, but the food was very disappointing. The sandwich was soggy and I am not sure the fries came from any relative of a potato. I would say that I am far from picky and this restaurant is not a place I would ever suggest for others to eat.

Wonderful food, staff, and ambiance!! This little pub was friendly and the food had a unique twist on a sandwich!

I enjoyed the food at this restaurant. So good. Please, whatever you do get their steak. So good. Great experience and I will visit again.

located inside the Holiday Inn. Service was awesome, prices were good and so is the happy hour an dthe drinks awesome. Wide range of menu selection and staff are responsive to your needs. Awesome.

For the price, you get a lot for your money. I ordered Chicken Gyros, it wasn't recognisable as chicken, I initially thought I'd got lucky and been given Halloumi as well, but it was just sliced, reconstituted meat. Tasted ok though and was plenty of salad and fries to go with it. Large portions.

Staff was extremely nice and always so polite. Food was incredible! The croque monsieur with salad is fan-tas-tic. Ate there twice in three days!

Staying at the Holiday Inn and had breakfast in St. George's Tavern. I ordered eggs Benedict. A woman named Colleen Chisholm made sure our food was perfect and our glasses stayed full of coffee and juice. My significant other ordered a breakfast sandwich. Both of our breakfasts were fantastic. I was shocked to learn that Colleen was the manager. She was hustling our entire meal helping out all the waitstaff. The food here was priced right and a very cheap kids menu. I would definitely go back and I'd hope to see Colleen again!

Average quality breakfast buffet, good price at $12 USD, and you stay indoors to get to the restaurant if you stay at the Holiday Inn Manhattan - Financial District.

Convenient restaurant in the Holiday Inn Manhattan Financial District; the food is good, as is the service and there is a nice atmosphere

St. George Tavern is attached to the Holiday Inn which I recently stayed in. Arrived at the hotel late at night and this was the easiest place to grab a bite. I had a very good meal and the service was great.

We came in for breakfast and to relax before getting the day started. Ray was awesome. He gave me what I wanted to eat not just how it was on the menu. He was very diligent keeping my coffee filled and just overall friendly. Like meeting family. I couldn't ask for anything better.

Had a rib eye steak which I suspect was frozen rather than fresh which was very disappointing in a city that has so many good restaurants . Service was OK.

We loved the service but the food was below average in the taste category. I ordered the oatmeal which I asked to be made with water not milk. However, the oatmeal was already cooked and prepared with milk. They don't cook the oatmeal to order. No problem, I tried it. It was tasteless and heavy. I don't recommend it. Also, if you want freshly squeezed orange juice they don't have it. My husband ordered an english muffin with one egg. You can't go wrong with that. The staff is kind and friendly. And the atmosphere is just like a tavern should be.

We were visiting the September 11 Memorial Museum in NYC and wanted a simple place for lunch. The St. George Tavern is an easy walk from the Museum and serves lunch later than some other nearby restaurants. We had a simple meal - sandwiches, fries, salad, and wine, but it was all very tasty and with reasonable prices. The atmosphere is that of an old-fashioned tavern, with nice service and a varied menu. They also serve Chinese specialties.

Very welcoming, clean, and the menu was extensive. We went there because we saw lots of locals using this place which shows it must be good? We were right it was excellent!!

Although we arrived fairly close to closing time, we had a fantastic meal. Service was top-notch. The fish and vegetables were fresh and abundant. The prices were surprisingly reasonable. According to our server, the St. George is a former church. It is lined with beautiful old wood paneling. The lighting looks to have been salvaged from the 1970s but in a fun, decorative way. Somehow it all works together really well. I'd be delighted to come back.

We were visiting the 911 memorial and we were looking for a restaurant with a coupon on the way to battery park & this fit the bill but I was instantly concerned when we were the only people in the place! Fortunately, it was a great place to eat! 3 of us got the soup/sandwich combo. The French onion was yummy and plentiful and the ham and cheese sandwich was awesome. The crabcake sandwich got mixed reviews (average to not great). The other party got the chicken sandwich which was good. Overall, the food was tasty, the service good and the value great. We would not hesitate to go back!

I ate at this location 2 times during my stay at the Holiday Inn Financial District & the food was great both times & the fact that kids eat free was great. However, the service was really slow and the servers are not really friendly. I had the same server 2 days in a row for breakfast & his service was bad. He also assumed that the remaining money from my payment on the check was his & took the money without asking us or trying to return it. I would recommend paying the extra money & eating elsewhere.

Good food, quickly served from very friendly and efficient staff. Great selection for breakfast. Very comfortable surroundings

Not the biggest choice but something for everyone at a decent price with good service if you don't want to go far from the hotel.

Just one meal here - breakfast one day - good food and good coffee! It was a package deal with our stay at the Holiday Inn next door.

I enjoyed the eggs benedict for breakfast. the place was busy and the staff was hustling and still friendly. There were many using vouchers, perhaps from city tours, and the staff was very accommodating.

While on business a colleague and I happened upon this place. The building is a gorgeous old church very close to the 911 memorial. Built in 1812 I think. Our server was very friendly and hospitable. It is called a tavern but turns out in addition to great cocktails they have a very good menu of non taven food. I had a mixed greens salad with delicious vinaigrette and a seared tuna sandwich. The tuna was sushi grade and cooked to my liking. We had the price fixe lunch which included an appetizer and entre for $18. Very reasonable for the quality of food. Highly recommended!

The restaurant is adjoined to the Holiday Inn. Had a much needed beer and some dinner here after we arrived. Good service, good food. Would recommend it.

Bar staff provided excellent service and were very helpful with information on places to see in NY. Beer was cold and wine chilled just right. Prices were a little high, but the exchange rate might account for that (AUD to USD). Meal choices were good, with a good selection of vegetarian, even for NY. I would recommend.
Great breakfast place and a nice place to grab a bear after a day in NYC!
We stayed in the next door Holiday Inn and had breakfast here almost every morning. The coffee and food are great and although the menu isn't long there is enough to choose from to to enjoy the perfect breakfast. Special thanks to Juan Ray for starting off our days in the right way!
