After visiting the Empire State Building, we found this Starbucks Reserve by chance and went inside for a beer. To our surprise the place was nearly empty just after 5PM. We asked our server about that he told us that it wasn't so well known and that it'd be busier in the evening. We ordered beers and each got a mini pizza - both were delicious. The beer selection was eclectic and surprisingly reasonably priced. The service was friendly and efficient, though there weren't so many customers to deal with. So, bottom line: as of August, this was an undiscovered gem. The location is unbeatable, the view out the windows was just wow!

This Starbucks is not like the typical Stabucks we have visited in the past. There is so much to take in when visiting this place! We came early in the morning. So the crowds weren't too heavy. There are three different levels. We were not able to visit the third level, (so we will be coming back for this soon). We ordered our coffee and a breakfast/brunch pastry at the ground level. This level does not provide you with seating as it is simply where you will find various stations filled with merch to choose from. This level is well lit with natural light and very spacious. We headed down to the lower floor to sit and sip and eat. This level ambiance was much different. It felt cozier as it was darker and more subtle. This lower level is equipped with bar and a large window where you could take a peek at bakers working. They also have a very nice large coffee experience table set up. I would have loved to have tried their coffee experience down but I just couldn't fit it in my itinerary, (again-next time).

Busy and nowhere to sit so we sat (where other people were sat) then were asked by staff not to be on the floor but there were tables downstairs- she then added that the tables were for if you had ordered at the table. I recommend going downstairs and ordering the $86 of food and coffee from a table.

I went for breakfast in the restaurant and everything was lovely. I had the waffle, with apples and cream, and the flight of cold brews. The food was good and the THREE people who waited on me were great, I would definitely go back.

We waited for this place to open, then had to keep waiting in a line with other patrons. Finally, over 20 minutes after they were supposed to be open, we all decided to just walk upstairs. The employees looked very unhappy to see us. You can't order regular Starbucks drinks; you have to go wait in line downstairs for that then bring your order up. The Reserve hot drink I ordered was delivered lukewarm at best, the wait for food was ridiculous, and that food was then delivered burnt. It's a beautiful space, but that's literally the only positive.

I have several friends who enjoyed their visits to a Starbucks Reserve very much. I was excited for my visit. I sat at a bar and was told to bring up the menu from the QR code, which I did. I had questions about the menu and tried to engage people behind the bar several times. I was told that they were making drinks for some other people and didn't really have time to chat with me. Perhaps they were shorthanded that day. I almost walked out but really wanted to taste the coffee. I finally got my order in through the app and someone delivered it to me with an explanation of each coffee in my flight. The descriptions seemed scripted, though. I asked about the roast level and was told that it was medium on all of them. I started tasting each and unfortunately they were all very dark roast. Full disclosure—I normally drink light roast coffees. Being so darkly roasted, I couldn't find too much difference in the coffees. Charcoal, lots of charcoal. Then three people sat down next to me at the bar and were chatting back and forth with the workers behind the bar, just ordering verbally. I think they must have come in a different way and I was in the cheap seat. Still, the worker responses seemed mostly scripted. Overall a very disappointing experience—but the cheesecake was great!

The Big 3s: Ambience: fun, happy, grand, spacious, upscale, proud Service: some counters fun and proud and other counters overworked; unfortunately the TEA still comes in BAGS and NO teapot but bags dunked into MUGS is NOT a way to serve tea....this would NEVER work in UK. IF you upgrade your coffee upgrade your TEA please too! Food: incredible new taste and presentation

I don't know, but even compared to other Starbucks something is missing, and yet you are below the Empire! Few seats, a bit cold, unwelcoming, it would take little to make it top like other Starbucks around the world. To pinto that the other mornings of my stay in NY I preferred an alternative...

Huge Starbucks, super busy. Had a coffee to go and there was a long wait for the drinks to be ready. Also had a coffee and breakfast downstairs where there is table service, far more relaxing. All staff very friendly, quality of food & drink good as you’d expect

We walked in one afternoon and were happy to see a wide variety of drinks. There are 3 levels. We went to level 2.We had dark chocolate mocha, avocado toast, chocolate cream cold brew which were good. But the star was the banana crisp oatmilk affogato which was superb. Service was a little slow but friendly server.

What a disappointment. Walked all the way to this reserve roaster and it's nothing like the one in 9th. I couldn't get a flight of coffees which is what I had hoped for. I ordered a clover but didn't see a clover machine and I have no idea what they gave me. It was nothing like 9th much less high end atmosphere. It wasn't as clean decor lackluster. Won't return.

Great 3 story coffee shop with plenty of glamorous and comfortable seating with a bar and light fairs. Located in a great historic building adds even more of an appeal. Great coffee, service and atmosphere. I will be having many more meetings here!

we were looking for an expresso cup with NYC on for a gift for friends, we went to about 15 Starbucks in New York and could not find one ( most staff couldn't even figure out what one was). Then we came across this store and Kalil who took the time to talk to us and find out what we needed, he even helped me log onto their wifi so I could show my friend the choice of cups. Thank you so much for taking the time and trouble to get us just what we needed I am extremely grateful as I could then enjoy my holiday again. Perfect customer service.

We loved the Starbucks Reserve in the Empire State Building! The service was amazing and the coffee was perfect! The caramel mocha drizzle affogato was to die for. And you must get the cold brew flight at least once. We found a nice quiet corner in the basement. Bathrooms were convenient and clean too, which we appreciated.

My wife and I visited on a very cold day in the city, and it was just the place to hang out for a bit with a unique coffee flavor and snack. There are a few floors with different offerings and plenty of seating. If you like coffee in general or Starbucks in particular, it’s worth a visit.

We honeymooned in NY the end of May & decided to treat ourselves to a Starbucks Experience Class for cold brews for something fun to do. We had the lovely and ever so engaging Angela as our host! She was super knowledgeable, very fun to chat with, made us laugh and taught us different lovely drinks to make! The entire experience was really enjoyable. We had fun, great conversation and a lot of laughs with Angela & we even left with gifts to make our own drinks at home! Definitely recommend! There are a variety of classes to choose from & we would definitely try another one! The whiskey one would be next on our list for sure! The store was also gorgeous with tons of products to look at and buy and delicious looking sandwiches at the counter. I took lots of pics! Thanks Angela for making our visit super memorable!

It's the best Starbucks I've ever been to. It's special to the Empire State Building, offering many products one can find only there. Don't forget to buy some cups there!!

My mom & her friend did an espresso martini class & had a blast! The hosts were excellent and ensured a fun time for all. They learned lots about espresso martinis & sampled plenty!!!

Being a super Starbucks fan I was thrilled to see that they opened a Reserve at Empire. I have visited the Reserve at 9th Avenue several times, and that place is amazing. The Empire location did not live up to my expectations. It was boring, dirty and service was awful.

We stopped in to try this location because it was one of the couple in NYC that we haven't visited. We did the Affogato flight, and I additionally tried the seasonal hot honey affogato. They were all really good, and were some intriguing flavors. I like that they have a selection of bagged coffees different from the other Starbucks Reserve locations, including even the other NYC locations. On the bottom floor, there is a tasting room you can enjoy. On the second floor, there is a full bar & seating area that is usually quiet, where you can get away from the hustle & bustle. The prices are elevated from your usual Starbucks, so just know that going into your visit.

This is a great place on the 2nd floor for food, we had breakfast. First floor (ground for UK people) is a shop and take out and the basement is an odd place, maybe it was us but we couldn’t work out what was on the menu. Our breakfast was table service with a welcome cold brew, as we were told it’s there way of saying hello and welcome. Breakfasts come with a fresh fruit salad. It’s a calm environment.

Awful -waited 20 mins for two drinks -staff are bone idle just standing about chatting - avid we didn’t have time to drink our drinks as we’d have missed our slot in empire state - nowhere to sit either

Great ambience and even better coffee. The staff was pleasant, kind, and explain the differences between each floor in the building.

Arrived for 11am. The room was freezing. No other customers so no atmosphere. The miserable waitress got our drinks order wrong and we had to keep asking for milk and sugar. When the breakfast arrived my egg was still raw.
Good drinks
A different starbucks, my kids usually go and buy drinks and we liked it, to be there for a while, additionally, in one of the most iconic places in NY.
