Great food! Great service. We had guacamole and chips, fish, Al pastor , and carne asada tacos. Also a side of Corn Esquites (street corn). Highly recommend!!! Food was fresh, hot , and quick. Yum!

Had a great lunch at Tacombi. The service was quick and the food delicious. I had the corn esquites which was so yummy and my husband and I shared some tacos and tortillas. We enjoyed every bite. Will definitely go there again next time I visit NYC.

We had a fabulous time - great food, engaging staff, buzzy atmosphere (we booked a table for 7pm on a Wed night and the place was packed) Enjoyed by the whole family. Great guacamole to start, and all the tacos were gorgeous (Baka fish my personal favourite). Would happily go again, and an easy recommendation.

One of the best meals we had in NYC while visiting our daughter for the holidays and it was just a short walk from her apartment. The people there are so friendly and helpful. This is a nice large restaurant by New York standards so you don’t feel like you are sitting on top of each other which is nice. Everything here is fresh! I watched them shuck oodles of corn, strain watermelon juice and other fruits and make tortillas. We had the BEST spicy margaritas ( yes a pitcher, don’t judge me) I have ever had and I have been going to Mexico twice a year for 30 years or so. No mixes or sugar here! Tacos al pastor is my favorite as is the Al pastor quesadilla which you see them shave right off the spit. No, I think the Baja fish taco was my favorite. Nope, it has to be the beef birria tacos with consommé! What can I say? They are all outstanding. The sides were great as well. I will be back!!!

Overpriced, poor service, and food portions very small! Food is loaded with spices and just so-so. You will leave with bad taste in mouth and still hungry!

Tacos were great; however, place is semi dark due to low illumination. The menu has each taco for a price of $6.75; however, we were billed for each taco $17.50 I expected a bill of around a hundred dollars since we were passing by that place (we were 4 in total) but I was billed $187.00 instead. This should be illegal and it's a scam. Now I realize that illumination is bad on purpose to make more difficult to see what they're charging you for. Just be careful when you go to this place so you don't get ripped off.

We dined at this restaurant for a quick lunch on our visit to ESB. The veggie taco with beans was the best taco we had there, we also tried the seared fish and the pork! The service was quick as they had now opened for lunch and was empty… my husband enjoyed the Mexican lager beer however!

Excellent ! I tried several things on the menu and everything was great. I highly recommend trying lots of things

Amazing food. The menu is simple tacos, quesadillas and other Mexican specialties. You have to go here it’s a must and it’s in the Empire State Building.

On tuesday the deal is very good, so we had a couple of tacos and then another two; everything good, but the most exciting is staying seated between the columns of the most iconic building in the city.

Just around the corner from the New York Stock Exchange, you'll find a cozy spot here! The restaurant is very clean the staff all very friendly and the cocktails great. We simply ordered blind 2-3 starters and main course and were very satisfied with both the portions and the taste. Value for money is perfectly fine for New York.

We booked the Prix Fixe menu on line as part of our visit to the Empire State Building. It was just under £20 each which included tax and gratuity (although you feel a bit mean if you don’t leave a tip when you are there!). The food was very tasty but you only get one starter and two small tacos each which really isn’t enough. They know this and they try to sell you more. You can also have up to three fruit drinks OR one coffee OR one tropical cocktail. My husband had a Margarita which he said was nice - I had the fruit juice which was pretty average. The restaurant and the WCs are very clean and the staff are friendly and attentive. They would have got four stars (very good) if they had been more generous with the tacos. You really need a minimum of three each. Probably better not to book in advance and just order off the normal menu.

I need to say that Tacombi is addictive so be careful because yo go one time and then you want to come back soon. The guacamole to start is a good option, very fresh and the tortilla is very crispy, that's a good point. Mama Mia the Gringa Quesadilla that is serve on a flour tortilla with spicy pork (Al Pastor style pork with a little pineapple flavor), and spicy home made sauce, onions and cilantro definitely amazing good. The service very nice and the food very fast. The hit to your wallet for a quesadilla is like 9$. Buen provecho Guey 🇲🇽- Enjoy your food dude 🇺🇸 More Food and Entertainment in NY with your new friend.... @elmanudominguez (Instagram and YouTube videos)

We stopped by here after passing by on a visit to the Empire State Building and thinking it looked nice. We had lunch and it was really lovely, nice and easy to order, efficient service and lovely food and drinks. I really enjoyed the watermelon juice and the tacos were gorgeous. Highly recommend!

We went there after seeing Shakira at MSG. The Al Pastor tacos were delicious and authentic and they have 3 fresh sauces, the Arbol is my favorite and I even purchased a bottle to take home. They are in the Empire State Building about 10 minute walk from Penn Station and MSG.

We walked in they handed us two menus. There were four of us. We filled them out then they informed us we were only supposed to fill out one. Strike one. We placed our drink orders and just one entree, a single carnitas taco. The drinks came. My margherita was literally the worst I've ever had, and I've had a lot of margheritas all over the states, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Latin America. They make better ones in Wisconsin. It's like they went out of their way to make one that bad. Strike two. Then they ignored us forever then gave us the check. The single taco never came. It was too much for them to make I guess. Strike three. We left. No tip. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

Tacos, rice & beans all very delicious and Margaritas on point! I would have given 5 stars but its a little pricey$$

We stumbled upon Tacombi on our way from the Hilton Garden Inn on East 33rd to Penn Station, and what a pleasant surprise it was! Bright, clean and spacious, with plenty of room for our luggage, we parked ourselves down and ordered Corn Esquites and Rice and Beans to start. Highly recommend the corn. Delicious! We ordered two types of fish tacos and one chicken and one carnitas taco. We also got an avocado tostada. The food was fresh and hot with good flavor. The service was fantastic. All in all, much better than the Penn Station fare. I will definitely return.

Service was weak. They are careless. Nobody ever came to clean our table. Extremely overpriced $7 for a tiny taco with one slice of meat I don’t mind paying for good food but honestly go to Taco Bell and you will be happier! Never again

If you are in the mood for some great authentic Mexican food than Tacombi is an excellent choice. I highly recommend the cheese quesadilla, they are small so you will want more than 1, but they are really good!

We stayed for 4 nights in NYC in July and we ate there 3 times! Great place and great food and wonderful Cocktails. Well worth a visit in you are staying in mid town. Lovely friend;y staff.

The food was great, the waiter was great and the atmosphere was great! We would definitely go back if we lived in NYC. We asked them to come to Canada….

Authentic tacos at reasonable prices in midtown. $5-7 tacos, $13 burritos, $10 quesadillas. Reasonable...for midtown Manhattan. Canned beers were $7, but you can get a bucket of 5 for $24. Fast service..food came in minutes. Clean open space. Clean bathroom.

We came here after visiting the Empire State Building observatory (Tacombi is based on the ground floor), you can book to come here as part of booking the observatory tickets which is what we did, we got a set menu from which we could choose a starter each, two tacos each and a choice of drinks, we opted for a Margarita each. Everything was great including the drinks, food and service and we can’t think of anything bad about the evening, would return

They say to try 3 types of tacos to get a real flavor of the place. I ordered 4...seared fish, carnitas, Carne asada and a al pastor tostada. Excellent. Come during happy hour. Will be back

Awful bland food, small portions, extremely overpriced. We ordered 3 tacos each and they were incredibly small and all tasted so bland and flavourless. Along with a drink each this was over $50. We then had to go to another restaurant afterwards because we were both still hungry despite spending so much at this place. Feel incredibly ripped off. Avoid this place as there are so many better places to eat.

Fantastic food, atmosphere and service! The Baja fish taco was our favourite, absolutely delicious! The food comes out very quickly too. Almost fast food speed, and it was packed when we went too. Amazing place.

One of the most delicious restaurant there I ever ben! I loved the place and the Tacos ther I order were sooo delicious! The decoration is so vintage and beautiful, and the waitres's were so nice. Lovely restaurat!

Was looking for a place after our visit to the Empire State Building. And no thanks to TripAdvisor we found Tacombi. The place was Excellent! Drinks were great - try Purpura or Pina Y Ginger. The tacos were all superb- the best one was the Chile Relleno...delectable. The only disappointment was the TripAdvisor could not show me the place even while I was sitting inside the place. I believe that TripAdvisor promotes places in the feed and does not show all places anymore. After two days in NYC I found places more on my own than with TripAdvisor’s help. I hope they are reading this review and will take corrective action.

If you've been to Mexico, most American Mexican-style restaurants are a disappointment. Not here!! This is authentic, the tacos are made fresh on site (as you watch), the flavors are delicious -- you have to try it. You order on a paper pad, and most likely will want a number of small dishes. The tacos, such has fish, are wonderful. And the guacamole to start was outstanding. Good beer on draft. Excellent juices. And the atmosphere is relaxing and uncrowded, meaning you have space to spread out and talk.

Lovely little Mexican chain scattered across New York, with beautiful fresh flavours. The pork and avocado tacos were both delicious, and the plate of chips and guacamole is massive. Informal dining and quick friendly service.

Spicy margarita pitchers were amazing. Tacos were pretty good, the guac and chips was awesome. It was difficult to split the bill but in the end they let us do it. We were a group of 8 and the would only let us split the bill between a max of 6 per table, but they were happy to sit us at separate tables. However if these separate tables were beside eachother, they would charge us as one table. In the end we were able to sit together and split if we all paid the same amount. The hassle added stress to the experience.

Quick but nice place to have informal dinner with family or friends, Mexican traditional recipes, good freshly squeezed juices (at least they say that). No desserts though! Price fair

We went here today (06-12-25) for lunch for two reasons. It's located in the Empire State Building and the recommendation of our ESB tour guide (Renita Edmond). The first reason is we can now say we've eaten in a place that's a big part of American history. The recommendation of Renita came about when we were talking to her about eating at one of the street venders. She told us that she didn't do any of the street venders and always ate inside the ESB when she was working. She told us the Mexican food was really good. Renita was spot on when she said they have good food. We din the tacos and they were great. We also tried the Esquites! or Corn in a cup. The corn was good and had a kick to it. Even though it was spicy hot, the heat didn't seem to last very long.

Here is a super nice address: very nice industrial decor that makes authentic (roadside dinner), open kitchen, a wide choice of tacos and quasadillas, but that, cocktails and beers Super friendly service and atmosphere Cheap Awards for NY Really a great place to recommend ++++

Inexpensive and delicious. Nice casual vibe, smallish menu but well executed. Carne asada and the al pastor tacos are recommended. Service was quick and servers very helpful.

We start with the bad: Very noisy restaurant. Otherwise the positive: welcoming staff Good and Fast A must do

The service here is amazing! The food is on point! I LOVE the Acapulco Shrimp tacos! The Mezcal Margarita is also on my top list. My coworkers always order the Seared Fish Tacos and love hem. I wish I had taken more pictures, but I come back often so I’ll upload some soon. Definitely come by if you want a good drink and some tacos. I recommend a Friday early evening for the happy hour and stay late to enjoy the crowd. You won’t be disappointed.

Very enjoyable meal with music and young crowd. It is located in the Emoire State Building. Reasonable prices.

Attention of Carlos Alberto and Alondra, but q excellent, delicious food and beer of the house, Monopoly, very tasty

This was our favorite meal of our 5 day NYC trip. The a la carte menu lets you order as much or as little as you want and lets you sample several types of items. They serve authentic Mexican food in a bright, bustling space with upbeat music playing. Our waiter was incredibly helpful explaining which items were vegetarian (3 in total) and why their menu didn't show 2 of them as vegetarian - they used to use pork fat to cook their tortillas but recently switched to using avocado oil, and the menus simply hadn't been updated yet. He was also very helpful explaining the items or ingredients we weren't familiar with. He was always friendly and never condescending, no matter how simple or rudimentary our questions were. One downside: No dessert menu. But again, our waiter was super helpful and quick to point us in the direction of several nearby places. None of them had flan or churros so we didn't follow up, but we appreciated his knowledge and willingness to direct us to another establishment.

Very good food and friendly staff. Highly recommend this place for lunch after seeing the Empire State Building observatory. It is just on the other side of the building.

Gréât service. Bright & airy restaurant. Just perfect for lunch after a visit up the Empire State. Good choice of food, fast service & good drinks

Loved the decor and the location. Food was tasty however portions were small and expensive. Service was okay but not overly attentive. Had to ask a few times for some cutlery.

We arrived towards the end of happy hour and the place was very crowded and very noisy. Despite this, the service was very fast. Tacos good, but not great.

Absolutely beautiful. Fantastic service, great prices, wide choice of foods. Will definitely recommend to others visiting the city!

Stopped in for lunch! How co is this place e in the bottom of the Empire state Building!? Great and unique Mexican offering, very simple and fresh, very good service! Try the spicey beer too!

Ultra warm, gourmet and tasty welcome! Friendly waiters and very good advice. Very nice setting at the foot of the Empire State Building (at night it's even better). Fair prices, you can't expect less in NY.

We had some tacos and a quesadilla for dinner (I recommend the Pastor's taco and the Chihuahua Quesadilla). The quality-price ratio was very good and the staff was spectacular! I recommend it 100%

We tried different tacos. All of them were so fresh and tasty! Juicy, crispy, spicy! Also, cleanness and hygiene at the restaurant is prominent. My favourite taco there -Baja Crispy Fish though the rest were great too!

Food was good and tasty, service was ok. Would not recommend as overall experience was average and there is so much choice in NY.

We came after visiting the Empire State Building. We booked the set menu with our ticket. We got tortilla chips with guacamole (the guacamole was AMAZING) 2 tacos each and a cocktail. Food portions were adequate and really tasty. Service was great. The booking said tip was included but it seemed very small so do check. Really recommend if you visit New York

We bought vouchers for lunch with our Empire State Building tickets. The food was delicious and the service was great! We left completely stuffed!

This is a great spot for a cool fresh juice, paired with tapas style Mexican fare, order small tasty dishes, good for sharing. You can watch them make the corn tortillas through a glass window. I have been there several times. Food is quick, and sometimes a little too quick, so pace yourself, or you'll find that you are at a small table with towers of small plates! It reminds you of upscale Mexican street food!

What a great find!! We had a group of 6 and all of our meals were delicious. The street corn dish was especially wonderful. I’ll make sure to stop in again when I’m back in NYC.

Restaurant selling mostly tacos. The contents are pretty good, however, the cakes are super dry. Cheese quesadillas to avoid, not great.

The quesadillas were very hot but delicious and the tacos were all great. It was very busy however and this might explain why a few of our items were forgotten but then charged to our bill. It was rectified after discussion with the waiter but was a little frustrating.

I booked a party of 13 to have a quick dinner in the midst of my sister's bachelorette celebrations. The booking process was an easy web form and I received confirmation instantaneously; I was able to pick from a selection of pre-determined menus and was even able to make a few alterations to accommodate individual guest needs as well as my hungry eyes (yes, I had to add on an order of rice and beans for each guest). Communication with management throughout this process was seamless. Their online contract and payment system made it easy for me to divvy up the check, with the understanding that we would receive a separate bill for our cocktails. Service was smooth, pleasant, and quick. The food exceeded our expectations: we kicked things off with the incredible esquites and guacamole, which were delightful, light appetizers, the aforementioned filling and rich rice and beans, and a selection of four tacos that were uniquely decadent, filling, and elaborate. The cocktail menu includes options for all tastes, including plenty of non-alcoholic selections. Will return for dinner soon!

Friends recommended this place. even though the drinks are primarily tequila based, they are excellent. We didnt eat but the choices look very interesting.

Very small portions, not very tasty and just little spicy. The best part is the locations, nice and vintage.

This was our first meal on arrival in NY. Being tired and hungry after empire state buldg visit we found restaurants closed between lunch and dinner. That's when we stambled across this place. The lady who greeted us was nice and very helpful and we could start off with few quesadillas and see how we liked them. It was easily done because order system was tick the piece of paper each time we want to order. We ended up ordering more and more because they were so nice and fresh. We had veg one and chicken one and loved both of them. Fresh juices were so nice as well. Overall very satisfying visit.

Very good Mexican restaurant, with inexpensive little tacos, the atmosphere is happy. We had a great time, I recommend!

Nefarious food, nefarious waiter service, nefarious atmosphere and kitchen is on the way to the bathroom...horror! 30 bucks that didn't cost what we ate. Two cold tacos and no food, some bag nachos with guacamole and another salsa verde that better not taste and three waters. There were two of us and they gave us 3 waters, 2 plates and 1 fork... we paid for the food with the visit to the empire state... and honestly a fraud. No pictures taken!

I went here for a trip after visiting the Empire State Building. The food was delicious, but the size of the plates was small. The staff was kind and available.

The food is good and location is great (just near the ESB). They offer great fruit juices. The service is OK. On the down side : the quantity versus price is too small and the place was not very warm

Food was good but too spicy for my personal taste. Service was great, most of them talked spanish and where really helpful.

fantastic place! Very good food, exceptional margarida, clever and welcoming staff. Gio in particular, the person we met, is a gentle and smart professional.

Very good little tacos and quesadillas. A little too much coriander. Good to know that it takes several pieces for a whole meal. Good beer.

Very good Mexican restaurant, typical and fresh products, friendly, the order is made on a written menu, you just have to note the quantity next to the dish, noisy atmosphere

I live nearby and was unaware of this place until my gf pointed it out. I liked the look inside from the street so we decided to give it a shot. Solid taco choices, totally enjoyable. I had Barabacoa and chicken tacos and she had the shrimp and yellowfin flat taco. We loved our food! We also had guacamole and chips and the chips were particularly good. The manager was very attentive (they were busy and he realized we had been waiting a bit longer than ideal for someone to ask us for our drink order). He ultimately comped us on our choice of shot (we had taquilla and mezcal shots) AFTER we paid the check (meaning that he wasn’t trying to goose the tip amount). Great place for big groups. Fun vibe. Highly recommend!

Food was good, service was horrible. They seem to have forgotten about the appetizers. So after ate our main course we sat for about 10 minutes to see if they would bring it and they didn’t bring. So as the busboy was taking the plates away i had to tell him that we never got certain things we order. And then also waiting for the check was another long wait, i would understand if it was busy but i wasn’t.

Delicious tacos in a clean ambience. Had the tacos with beef , those with shrimp and those with chicken. All three very delicious, the ones with beef are my favorite , because the meat is very tenderly cooked. Jedes mal ein muss in New York. The location is nice in a side street between 5 and 6. ave about 20 min walk under time Square, so hardly tourists but students or New Yorkers after work.

My second time visiting a Tacombi restaurant. The tacos are great, prices are great, and the food arrives FAST. I have not had a bad taco here, I tiredd 6-7 different ones and they are all good. Their Margaritas aren't too shabby either, and my daughter loves their grapefruit Margarita. But my FAVORITE thing is their street corn, I can never have just one. The street corn alone is worth the visit.
Art Deco Setting
In the Empire State Building. This is a more authentic version of Mexican food with great spicing, real meat and no sour cream. We loved it but drinks are pricy specially when they try to add 20% plus tip.
