Great value

By John F |

This was our first time eating Korean. The staff were very helpful in guiding us in the right direction. Food was tasty and different from what we were expecting. It was also exceptional value for midtown Manhattan.

Great atmosphere, felt like I was in Seoul. Friendly staff, prices good and food excellent.A great place to chill after a long day in NY.

What a great find

By Peter |

I decided to try this restaurant for a solo dinner and I am so glad I did. There is a great selection of food at very reasonable prices. The ambiance is youthful and busy but the friendliness of the staff is so noticeable. Service was top notch as I felt welcomed and well taken care of. A special thank you to Alex - I enjoyed talking with you and appreciate your kindness. I will definitely be back.

Excellent Food and Service

By aellyson |

Our first night in NYC, we walked over to Take 31. The atmosphere was great. They were doing a Makgeolli pop-up. We ordered the flight to try them all along with the Bulgogi black garlic fries rice and garlic crusts & spicy chicken. The food was excellent. The sommelier explained the flights and what to eat each type with. We had a great meal and highly recommend grabbing dinner here if you are in the area.

Very interesting

Excellent!

By CocktailmakerUK |

We were having a drink in the hotel next door when the heavens opened and the rain fell out of the sky. So we decided it would be a good idea to eat as close to the hotel as possible. Which we did...... We were first brought ‘rice cakes’ in a spicy sauce, very tasty indeed. Then our food arrived, one dish followed closely by the other, and everything was very good indeed!

True gem in Koreatown

By Magdalena J |

Although we had to wait about 30 minutes for the table it was absolutely worth it! The grilled squid was delicious as well as the soft shell crab and noodles with shiitake mushrooms. It's definitely a place to come back!

Cheap and good

By Ricardo B |

Ok this place is not exactly the most romantic or organised in NYC and service is a bit odd, but the have very good Korean food for very good value. I would go again

Hidden Korean Gem

By juan_escobar144 |

Take 31 is a tiny hole-in-the-wall Korean spot with no need for reservations. The pork belly in rice crepes, crispy pancake, and spicy garlic chicken were all delicious! Big plates meant sharing or taking some home. Don’t miss the pink raspberry makgeolli—a shaved ice rice wine delight!

Good food, OK location, long line

By Kristina Z |

I came with 5 other friends, and I have been to so many Korean restaurants in the city. The food here is 9/10, different with traditional Korean food but very creative and delicious. Recommend the popcorn chicken, pork belly. NOT recommend the yogurt sojo. the location is a little bit hard to find, far away from subway stations.

Yum!!! More please

I loved this tiny restaurant: freshly made, bursting with flavour food and a diverse group of people. This place (next to the Arlo hotel), is nearly a hole in the wall but nearly bursts with flavour. Go with friends and share an array of their dishes. You will not be disappointed.

Excellent k-town introduction

By Adrienne C |

This was the first restaurant I tried out in K-town, and it certainly did not disappoint. Everything in the meal was great, from the delicious soju cocktails to the tempura vegetables to the scallion pancakes to the real star of the show: the hotpot. The kimchi flavor was divine, and the meat was very tender and flavorful. Overall this was an unforgettable experience!

Solid Korean but not exciting

By USCKaboom |

Solid Korean spot a bit off the normal K-town madness. I'm unfortunately never wowed by Korean BBQ in NY, much better in L.A. This was no exception but it was good. The spicy rice cakes were very good and come with the food. The KFC (Korean Fried Chicken) was crunchy and tender. The pork belly I didn't care for. We had a braised chicken that had a sweet broth with glass noodles that was very enjoyable.

Can't wait!

Can't wait to come back. Service was excellent and the food is authentic. I had the short ribs and noodles. Spiced up just right!

Great Korean food

By Tunaidi |

Most people hit up Take31 for drinks, but the food here is pretty damn good as well. The appetizers, meat plates, and casseroles are all delicious. Waits are to be expected, but you'll be able to satisfy both the food and alcohol cravings in one go.

Corean Restaurant

By ilsevs |

What a little hidden gem in NOMAD a Traditional corean restaurant with the most delicious food Small and people queuing to get in We were two of about 5 people that were not corean Only negative is they have no wine and only corean drinks that we not particularly like Service friendly and efficient

Excellent and reasonable priced korean food

By atlanticophelia |

The service was extraordinarily kind and observant. As we had not tried korean food before we had fine instructions on how to do things, (like: 'Don't eat the ethanol'). When in korean restaurants you share and so did we: deep fried rolls, roasted chicken with wasab cream, koran seafood soup, pork belly and spinach balls. Every taste was new and exciting to me and prepared with accuratesse. We will be back after this and learn to cook korean as well.

Excellent Korean Food

By Guy Z |

The quality of the food is outstanding at a very reasonable price for Manhattan. Fried chicken was delicious as well as the bulgoggi noodle dish. Accompanied with a large beer and soju and I was very happy. Service was excellent. Highly recommended.

good food!

By Paul W |

you know you're in the right place when it's mainly Koreans in the place. We ordered half a dozen sharing platter which were all delicious, although a bit firey in places. Small place with a great atmosphere.

everything looks better than it tastes

By Melanie T |

Lately, I've been bookmarking quite a number of 4-star Ktown places on Yelp and I get really hyped to try them. Unfortunately, a lot of them end up being only 3 stars in my book. Take 31 was no different. Everything on the menu sounds good and all the pictures on there looked really good too. For my party of three, we decided to split three things: Cod roe seafood udon (udon noodles sauteed in cod roe cream sauce with shrimp, squid, and mussels) - this was just okay. All I really tasted was cream. I added some of the gochujang (?) sauce from the complimentary rice cakes (which was the highlight) and it instantly made it 10 times better. If you like creamy udon, I would definitely recommend heading over to Mew Izakaya and ordering their kimchi cream udon. Fried garlic chicken wings - the slices of garlic were a nice touch but that's about all it had going for it. The chicken wasn't very good. Fried spicy hot pepper chicken wings - it looks really spicy from the picture but it's actually not that spicy, which was a good thing for me. But again, the chicken itself wasn't very good. It was buried in breading. Salmon sushi cake (salmon with seasoned vegetables, avocado, sushi rice, and lemon vinaigrette) - I'm not sure if we missed the description that it was cooked salmon, and just assumed it was raw from the picture, but we all thought it was going to be raw salmon. I don't like cooked salmon so I'm a bit biased, but I think this dish would have been better if they used raw salmon. Banana makgulli (rice wine) - do yourself a favor and skip this, unless you feel like drinking a banana milkshake. There's very little alcohol in it and it's very thick, which was a first in my few rice wine experiences. I was pretty disappointed because I was expecting better food. Sadly, everything looked better than it actually tasted.

Authentic Korean place

By Romius99 |

Authentic Korean place with food for an amateur. Portions aren't big, but prices are Ok. Service is Ok as well.

A great restaurant to start with korean food 🍲

By Uday Dhanoa |

Came in for a quick dinner. The food is Great, the service was fast and efficient, the portion sizes are big so don’t end up ordering too much like my friends and I did, please do try their appetisers while you’re there, they are definitely more wholesome than the main course. One time wonder.

Excellent meal.

One of the best meals I've had in a while. I will certainly be back. The banana rice wine was incredible.

Excellent authentic Korean restaurant

By Oshrie C |

Take 31 located in the center of Manhattan. Very nice design and you feel immediately that you arrived to a real authentic Korean restaurant. The starters and main course were awesome. The team are very welcome and doing great job.
