Ordered a chicken quesadilla, it was amazing, the salsa was really fresh and tasty, service was friendly and fast. If you’re in the area pop into Chelsea Market, lots of stalls with different choices.

I had the $11 Bento Box. To eat I had two tacos plus a side. To drink a peach iced tea. Great value. Prepared fresh. Right in the heart of the fabulous Chelsea Market. Sit at the counter and take in some fabulous people watching and then go and lose yourself in the market. I wandered around before the meal looking at the huge choice of food and reckon I made the right decision with Takimi Taco. I'll be back.

Excellent fast food made with very fresh tasty ingredients. Great salsa, great tacos, perfect for a quick lunch in NYC.

I only got experience their food stand at a concert but went back at least 8 times in the past two days and will get a couple more tomorrow the last day of the festival, before heading back home!

I discovered this restaurant while poking around Chelsea Market. Absolutely delicious! My choices for the Bento Box were a spicy tuna taco and a Japanese beef curry taco. They were accompanied with market greens and one side..my choice was Asian slaw. Price $11.71+tax. My mouth waters just remembering. Don't skip this restaurant!!

Fantastic place for Japanese-influenced tacos for a reasonable price. Great service and friendly staff. The food was a great combination of flavors. Would definitely come back.

The best carnitas burrito. I have recommended it to more people who have gone to NY and they thank me. Very good food and 100% Mexican sauces.

Takumi Taco's delivers Japanese Inspired Tacos with a wide selection of salads and sides. It was fun watching them make the food at this kiosk, but a lot of their ingredients looked pre-made and the taco shell tasted stale. I enjoyed the lunch, but Chelsea Markets has so many other, better options - like the Creperie right beside to Takumi. A good eat if you're looking for Mexican fusion, but nothing special I'd crave again.

What a pleasant surprise! With all of the food options at Chelsea Market, settling on where to eat for lunch can be daunting. I decided to walk the market and see what grabbed my attention. Takumi Taco had some interesting options. I went with the bento box which is 2 tacos and a side. I chose carnitas and the Saporro braised short rib. Both were delicious but the short rib taco really stood out. It was juicy and flavorful. The slaw was crisp with the right notes of acidity. Price was decent especially considering you are in NYC where everything is overpriced.

This restaurant is located in Chelsea Market and is a must if you want a relaxed and delicious meal. As it was very full we were lucky to find some free places at the counter, where we ended up for dinner. The homemade guacamole with nachos is wonderful and the tortillas with carnitine equally delicious. The environment is fun, with lively music and the staff always very friendly and available.

We had the ahi tuna nachos and they were TERRIFIC! Excellent blending of cuisines. Highly recommend. Generous portion for the price.

Amazing gluten free selection and fast service. However, the rice bowl had a good serving of chicken but not much else. The rice was supposed to be brown rice, but was not brown rice. The sauce was spicy, not creamy. I would come back and try other dishes due to the mostly great reviews here, but wouldn’t get the rice bowl again.

Wonderfully tasty fusion of Japanese and Mexican food with seating in the busy Chelsea market. I had the Japanese beef tacos which were amazing washed down with the cold lychee tea , well worth a visit

Stumbled into this place and what a treat. Usually I check reviews before I eat anywhere but for some reason I didn't this time. I just went for it and it was awesome. I had the bento box: spicy tuna tacos w/ Japanese rice and beans. It was delicious. They even made sure it was gluten free which is huge for me. I was blown away and ready to go back. Like now. A+

I only had one pork taco here as I wasn't that hungry, it was delicious and the pork was really juicy and flavourful, but couldn't really taste the Japanese influence at all. I want to come back and try the rest of the menu but honestly, surrounded by so much good food at Chelsea market, this may get overlooked.

When we saw the sign "Japanese inspired tacos" we knew we just had to try the food and we were not disappointed. Whoever came up with the idea of combining Japanese seasonings and ingredients in a Mexican dish was a genius. So delicious - just give it a try.

I ate at the Chelsea Market post on a weekday for lunch. The idea of Japanese and Mexican seemed interesting to me and something I just had to try. I was not disappointed, and found it difficult to choose something for lunch as all the choices seemed equally amazing. I selected the Burrito Bowl with the Ginger Chicken. The flavors were outstanding. Clear Japanese influence in the meat and some condiments but had a wonderful Mexican feel. My husband ordered the burrito with curry beef which offered a completely different vibe than mine, with outstanding flavor. Everyone in our party was satisfied. Service was friendly and quick. This place is definitely on our list when we return to NYC.

This place was quite inventive, with lots of great choices. Japanese Mexican - what a fun idea! It was easy to find some healthy choices. My group got a lot of different things and they were all good. Our servers were pretty cool. We bellied up to the bar and were able to get chairs as people left.

I went to Takumi Taco today and it was great! I had the best/most unusual Japanese-Mexican fusion bento box lunch. Chipotle Shrimp and Spicy Tuna & Radish tacos, with Red beans and rice with edamame, and salad with miso dressing. Mind blowing. Oh and it was all gluten free friendly! For the record, I actually went to Takumi Taco's store in Chelsea Market, not in Brooklyn. But I'm told the food's the same and reliably excellent.

So fresh, so delicious, so memorable. I don't often really enjoy food but this was tantalizing. Mouth watering. Go!!

Love the Japanese twist on the taco, I thought they were absolutely delicious and I loved the variety of vegetarian options. I had the Japanese curry lentil taco and the flavours were delicious.

Fantastic tacos inside the Chelsea market! Highly recommend! Reasonably priced and located next to the dessert place!

Great food which was extremely tasty, good vibes. Would highly recommend and will definitely make a return in the future

Had the Japanese curry beef tacos. Tacos were done quickly. Was quite interesting although not my cup of tea. Interesting Japanese fusion for a change

The dishes were all very good and quality was all wonderful the cozy and non-invasive service , it also creates a quiet and intimate atmosphere , very nice, prices are normal about 15-20 dollars each including drinking

Had a spicy tuna and a meat taco. Unfortunately was not impressed with either. The meat one I found to be too dry and not really that tasty. I give them credit for unique combinations but they just weren't for me.

Stopped for a quick lunch and wasn’t disappointed. We shared the bento box, have a spicy tuna taco and curry beef taco. Both tacos were amazing, very tasty. Bento box came with chips and salsa and a salad. Good value!

Located in Chelsea Market, this place offers different types of taco. I tried two of them: Japanese Curry Beef and Chipotle Shrimp. The dishes are promptly done, the service is perfect and the taste is perfect, awesome.

I am a big taco fan of tacos! When I saw that Takumi Taco is Japanese infused, I could not be more excited. However, nothing memorable or special... just a mediocre taco.

Good. The best taco. Nothing to do with the number 1 taco, which has a brutal queue on top. Here the meat is flavorful and well done...delicious. Japanesse Curry beef taco, this one is brutal... the Spice tuna too but it's cold. Excellent. In fact we have returned from the other side of Manhattan..

Stopped at the Takumi Taco for lunch at their Urbanspace location. Staff was incredible and very professional. Ordered the rice bowl and it was so full of different ingredients. Well worth the price for all the food I was given. The peach tea was also very good. Everything on the menu looked and sounded delicious. If you are by the Urbanspace for lunch, I highly recommend stopping here for a bite... you will not be disappointed or hungry afterwards!!!

I usually like fusion concepts and have an obsession with Korean tacos. But, I found Takumi lacking. I didn't feel it properly blended the two cuisines. I asked for the specialty, and they recommended the tuna taco. Unfortunately, I found it just to be a chunks of tuna with some vegetables overwhelmed by a mayo sauce.

spicy tuna taco and roasted corn salad were both a hit! the simple and fresh ingredient of Japanese with the flavorful taste of Mexican was done just right. If only they serve them in soft taco too.

What an amazing experience! The entire team was warm and friendly, creating a truly welcoming atmosphere. The freshly prepared food was absolutely delicious, with the Japanese Curry Beef Taco, Carnitas Taco, and Quesadilla standing out as highlights. Even when it got busy, the ambiance remained relaxed and enjoyable. Overall, it was an exceptional experience. Highly recommend!

not your every day taco: a perfect blend between mexican and oriental cuisine. Small restaurant but take out and eat on Chelsea Market.

In the Chelsea Market Place, this is a little gem! We went there on 1/19/15 which was a holiday which means that the market place was packed! We were walking around trying to decide what to eat and came upon Takumi Taco. We saw some of their food people were eating and after reading the menu had to try it...so glad we did! Think Mexican food made with an Asian flair..yum! I had the Miso Chicken Burrito, my husband had the Curry Beef Burrito and we shared the Miso Chicken Nachos....they also give you home made salsa and guac....wonderful!! All I can say is you need to be hungry! I would love to go back and try one of their bendto lunch boxes as the salads they have as sides look fresh and delish!

I ate here for dinner and had the spicy tuna taco - it was delicious! I only wish it was bigger, since one taco isn't nearly enough for a full meal.

A good place to have lunch. The tacos were of excellent quality: good dough, good fillings. Also the teriyaki rice bowl with spicy tuna: excellent and good quality fresh tuna. Very good price and quality.

Beautiful atmosphere, good music and very tasteful dishes The team is very jovial and creates a good atmosphere I strongly advise you to stop by on your way to Chelsea Market

Yes to this fusion food delight! I had a superb Japanese beef curry taco from here which is by far the best taco I have eaten. Lovely place, great service and exciting flavour combos

Wondered into this place looking for some lunch and we stopped by this place as the concept of Japanese and Mexican being mixed sounded really good. Bought a couple of burritos and soft drinks which were a bit pricey but this is Chelsea market! When we got our food there was no where to sit and the burrito itself was dry. The worst thing about our experience was the staff who were horsing around clapping loudly in each others ears for “banter”. This was pretty unpleasant and not what you want for a nice spot of lunch. Wouldn’t bother going.

Really enjoyed our food here. Had the short rib tacos and curry beef taco. WOW delicious....... My tea drink was not to my liking and the staff were great in changing it out for another. Great vibe at the bar (only seating area) as its by the entrance to this food court.

Takumi Taco is a Mexican Japanese fusion restaurant and serves mouthwatering tacos. The bento boxes are fantastic, 2 tacos plus a side for 12$

Really quick and friendly service and the food was so tasty. I had the 'cold' tuna taco with a lovely tasty local beer. Great atmosphere in this venue within Chelsea Market too.

I was blown away by how good this was and the people had a compelling family story about how they started it and got the idea. Genius fusion food.

Great place for Mexican food at Chelsea Market. We were very well served. Affordable prices with several good options.

My husband and I both had burritos here they were delicious!!!! What a bonus place to find in Chelsea market we were able to eat there n then carry on to the high line!!!

Incredible service and variety of food - never had to ask for anything outside of our order. They already knew what we needed!

My family and I went to this place for dinner while we were visiting the chelsea market!! We all took bento box (2 tacos with a side and green) we all loved our choices!! Good fusion between Japanese and Mexican food !! They have vegetarian options !!

Came here with my grandfather and grandmother. The wait was literally less than ten seconds. Their tacos are great and also are smoothly balanced. Even for plastic, I thought the plating was quite nice

Wanted to try something new as I tend to eat at the same places at Chelsea Market. Their bento box was a good deal-2 tacos, a side and salad for less than $13. I had the shrimp and chicken adobo tacos and the corn salad for my side. I liked the shrimp but hated the crispy shell. The chicken taco was good, as were my sides. The salad was refreshing and a nice palate cleanser. All in all, this is a good option for a lot of food at a decent price.

My boyfriend and I went here for lunch. I really enjoyed the short rib taco. My boyfriend got one of the boxes and he ate the whole thing. He said it was delicious. I would return next time I go to Chelsea Market.

Great Japanese inspired tacos. We visited the stand in Chelsea Market. Both the Shrimp taco, and Sapporo Braised Shortrib were excellent as was the side of smokey Charred Corn Salad. Bento box is a great deal for 2 tacos and a side. Would recommend for a quick lunch.

My husband ordered the chicken taco but it was bland had no flavor, it was very disappointing. Hope the other options are better….

If food this good can be served in a tiny Place like this then I want to to the main place. The Benito box is excellent.we had two different variants. Tuna, chicken, shrimp all are good.

This spot is amazingly great. offers fresh, creative dishes in a cozy ambiance with excellent service. Worth the visit!

Outstanding asian fusion tacos, we ordered a bunch of dishes and shared. Our favorite was the spicy tuna and carnitas. Also the spicy margarita….mmm it was a delight.

My mouth was so happy! First time to Chelsea Market and decided to eat here. I had a bento box with short rib and spicy tuna tacos. Amazing tacos! I could of eaten 20 more! The salsa they make that you can add to it is so good!!!! I had the corn salsa as my sad and that was delicious!!!! What really blew my mind was the sangria! It was made with white wine and sake and had lychee, raspberries and apples in it. Oh my! It is strong, my hubs and another friend drank two and the waiter was shocked they drank two! He said "I've never seen anyone drink 2", and now we know why! It was so good and strong! Not a lot of places to sit, just a long bar top. Service is fantastic. Definitely will be going back!

We were surprised to see Japanese Mexican and wondered how it would be. We ordered the nachos and chips with salsa and guac. The nachos were fantastic- we had shrimp on them. It was unique as I've never had a cold nacho before but it was great! the guac and salsa mixed was also great. Would go again!

We were at Chelsea Market, didn't know where to eat.. We decided to try the Bento Box (Choice of TWO Tacos, ONE Side, and Market Greens). I had a JAPANESE CURRY BEEF and CARNITAS Taco, together with TAKUMI SLAW as a side. LOVED IT ALL.

Interesting concept This combination did work Place had a nice selection The service was quick Was happy with the short rib

Perfect place to eat cheaply in manahtan. Welcome and interesting dishes. less than 50 dollars flat + drink for two.

I ate at the Takumi Taco's spot at Starrett Lehigh Building. I really enjoyed the salmon's sashimi. The rice was very well cooked. Everything was ready in 5 minutes so I could have my lunch in just 30 minutes.

Amazing fusion of Japanese and Mexican food. Was hesitant at first but it was amazingly good. Will definitely be going back next time I’m in NYC.

Its an amazing twist on Mexican and asian food. There bento box includes two tacos, a little salad, and a side. I always try other places in the market but always come back to this one as my favorite

Ate here for the first time and had their tacos with chicken. The service was fast and the tacos were good. They had a slight kick to to but not too spicy. The ingredients are fresh and mixing both Japanese and Mexican flavors works well.

I have been to Takumi in Chelsea Market and I have loved their beef burrito! It is prepared at the moment and it is really good! With rice, curry, black beans...mmmhhhh delicious! If you go to Chelsea Market please stop at Takumi!

I had never been to Chelsea Market (idk why) but a walk down the High Line led me right there. I perused all of the restaurants before I chose Takumi. I DO NOT regret this decision. We went during happy hour, and they had some specials. All beer, wine, and sake sangria were $5. You can buy tacos a la carte, or buy meals like the bento box which includes two tacos, a side, and some greens. I ordered the tofu taco, which was good, nothing to rave about. However, the shrimp taco was awesome! And I wanted to order like 3 more but we had to be somewhere. The side and greens were very tasty as well. I had a Sapporo and my friend had Modela.

Good service and great atmosphere, food was deliciois and food arrived very fast for me which was great. Price were good!

We stopped here while in Chelsea Market. We each got a Bento Box of 2 tacos and a side. The tacos were delicious and I loved that you could choose different taco types for your box. The grilled corn salad was delicious and the chips were perfect- just the right amount of salt! Good service and great food!

Best tostadas I ever had. Reminds me of Hawaii. Great prices, quick delicious food, and amazing customer service. Definitely recommend to everyone

Takumi Taco is a fusion of Japanese and Mexican in Chelsea Market New York with very nice food and very good service.

Tried excellent food by chance. We got two burritos. We found them delicious and super filling. Note on the guacamole sauce... you can feel that it is home made and not industrial Excellent margarita. total for two burritos, 1 taco, 1 margarita, 1 coke, 3 beers, a portion of nachos about $80 not including tips. It's about to be in New York

Touted as a sort of Japanese Mexican fusion, it is interesting but not a place I am likely to go back to. It was fun...once... There is a counter to sit at, and a bento box with 2 tacos and a tiny salad is about $12. Nothing was quite as well seasoned as I had hoped and some of the choices seemed neither Mexican nor Japanese (curried beef). Still, you could do worse, and if it intrigues you, by all means give it a shot.

Enjoyed the unlikely fusion of Japanese and Mexican flavours. We had various bento boxes and burritos and everyone loved it. Challenging to find a space to sit though. So only rock up if you’re not tired of walking or prepared to take away and eat elsewhere.

We stopped at Chelsea Market after High Line park and came upon the Japanese Mexican infused food. It sounded way interesting and wow, was it delicious. Please stop here and enjoy the tacos!

Great food and service. Location is awesome. Will come back for sure always. Order tacos and salad not forgetting the beer on tap

We grabbed food from Takumi Taco on our visit to the Chelsea Market. Japanese meets Mexican. So good!

Asian Mexican fusion? A combination I'd never considered, but Takumi pulls it off pretty well. I tried the the shrimp, carnitas and chicken tacos. All three had high quality ingredients, robust flavors and were extremely fresh. I'd highly recommend them, if you're looking for something a little different.

Just discovered my new favourite thing, the Japanese spiced lentil tacos from Takumi Taco in Chelsea Market. So good we made a special trip to return for dinner 2 days later. Great find.

Have been to this location a few times. The food is always good and the service is very consistent. Would highly recomend.

On a recent business trip to NY, a colleague and I stopped by Chelsea Market for a quick bite and had the pleasure of eating at Takumi Taco. The short rib taco ws amazing and the burrito bowl was great with the option of seared tuna. I also had the Sake Sangria, which definitely unique.
Gluten free and vegan Lunch
Nice vegan options for a lunch. The food was ready very fast. Gluten free options were available and the waiter knew what contains gluten and what not so that was great.
