Visited with a Groupon voucher, which is the only reason I'm giving Talia three stars. So, the room is OK, the Muzak a bit weird and too loud and I don't understand why you'd leave dying flowers on a table (the table was wobbly too). The staff were fine though. But service was chaotic, main courses and starters arriving at the same time (too much food to even fit on the table - probably the reason water got spilt, but accidents happen). The asparagus was nearly raw, I'm told the chicken schnitzel had a odd taste, probably of stale oil. The steak was fine, no better. Overall we got a mountain of really quite ordinary food at a bargain price delivered in a poorly organised way, in an ordinary room. If I'd paid full price I'd be a lot harsher. As it is I'd simply not go a again. The house wine was good, but since all they have to do is take the cork out and pour it I don't think that's much of a redeeming feature. Mark

I say it all in the title....wrong drinks bought to us and tried to give a minor alcohol, 55 minute wait for our food then our sides only arrived after we had almost finished our main dish. We were In NYC for 5 days and this is the only place we didn't tip.....its such a pity as the steaks were totally mouth-watering if a little on the expensive side.

Thought we would try Talia's out by using a Living Social Voucher. It was a Monday evening but the place was well represented, the staff congenial, and the tables small but suitable. The food was tasty, and the portion sizes more than adequate, but alcoholic beverages are not their strong point. It seemed they do not serve any type of american or Canadian whiskey like Segrams Seven, or VO but they did have Johnny Walker and some Irish whiskey. Not a big deal but unusual to me.

This is a multi-faceted review with few . . . actually only one highlight, our server Christa (I think her name was). To start off, street parking was pretty easy. We were greeted and seated by the manager that day, he was rude obnoxious and arrogant. He had (if you can imagine), the classic Italian New Yorker attitude portrayed in older Hollywood movies. Almost like an Andrew Dice Clay mini mentality. So me and my wife were seated and no one greeted or spoke to us for the next 15 minutes until I asked a passing employee (which oddly, many had walked right by us, maybe 10 times and never said a word) if someone would be serving us today. At this point they have about 4 other occupied tables in the restaurant and at least two servers that I saw. Basically, it was dead there. After I asked that we be served a waitress final came over , again I think her name was Krista/Christa. After she spoke to us, the hostesses came over and in an accusatory tone had asked if we had seated ourselves here because she had no record of us being seated. Now mind you, we completely front and center on the sidewalk/patio table in front of the two main doors that are side open, and the hostess passed us 3-4 times as we waited to be greeted by a server. Anyway, I replied that your manager had seated us . . . she walked away saying nothing as she left. Overall, everyone was rude and almost condescending to us, but our server. Finally, we were able to place our order. The wait time was extreme and once the food came out it was overcooked,, our medium steaks were just under well done. I ordered the Cast Iron Pan-Seared Filet Mignon (9 oz) for $49 and my wife ordered the Grilled Ribeye (10 oz) for $38 . . . these steaks were not even close to being worth what we paid. These were not much better than industrial grade steaks. My wife's ribeye was full of fat and just not a cut that would justify that kind of cost. My filet was just overcooked, overpriced and plain and almost tasteless. The fires were OK, my wife's mashed potatoes were terrible too, very bland, tasteless and the consistency was wrong, they were runny. The whole experience was pretty gross all the way around. Our server apologized several times and we made a point of NOT speaking to the manager about the issues because he had already shown himself to be rude and arrogant. I DO NOT recommend this restaurant unless you like bad food at an inflated price. The night before this dinner, I had eaten at Bobby Van's and the results were completely the opposite, yet the price were not that much different. By all means, see that review. When in New York the next time, this place is definitely off our list of places to try again, sadly, they don't deserve a second chance . . . it was that bad. NOTE: I hate to say these types of things about any establishment because it is normally not the restaurant, but instead the way it is run by management. . . in this case that is definitely true.

We got an Amazing Groupon Deal for this Restaurant, My Wife & I & two Friends ate Amazing Food, Drank Fine Wine & had an Awesome time!!! The food was Mouth Watering & Delcious, There was Live Music, The Service was Unbelievable!!! Our Waitress wasa Girl named Sivan, She was so Kind & Helpful!! As we were Leaving the Owner of the Establishment introduced himself to us. He was really Nice. I Highly recommend Patronizing this Restaurant. ;-)

We went here for dinner with Groupon coupon. We were surprised, staff was extremelly friendly, drinks and food were very good. Cucumber coctail was amazing, entrees also (especially humus), only burgers were not so good - you layer them yourself, it would be better if they were already made and had some extra sauce as they were a bit dry.

if one needs a kosher meat meal this will do fine. big portions. i had an ok burger fries and glass of red wine which came to $40 with tip

So surprised that none of the kosher steakhouses in NYC are no where as good as the top 3 in LA (especially PAT'S). Talia's: service, food were fair. Ambiance was horrible.

This is a nice little kosher steakhouse with a good menu and a "Recession Special" as well. A little cramped, but worth the visit.

We ventured out to NYC on a rainy night to Talia's Steakhouse. We were tentative at first when we entered the small restaurant but were wowed by the attentive and generous service. Neria greeted us with a warm smile and did everything to make our dinner pleasant and memorable. The food was delicious and plentiful and there were enough options to satisfy our low-carb dietary requests. Everything from the yemenite soup to the dessert was outstanding. Thank you!

Talia's Steakhouse is misnamed. It is not a true steakhouse. Yes, they serve steaks. But it is really a Mediterranean restaurant that happens to serve steaks. That is not a crime. What they do to a steak is. I ordered the filet mignon. There was so much pepper on it, the steak was nearly inedible. For appetizers my table ordered their two Mediterranean platters. Both were awful. Most of the dishes were soaked in grease or fat for flavor. The baba ghanoush must have been 50% mayonnaise. Given what this place charges, I am sure you can find a better restaurant for dinner.

We stopped here overnight on last night in NYC. Some of the best ribeye I’ve ever tasted- my partner still talks about it. Get the middle eastern salad platter with hummus as well, it was unreal. Charming, warm ambiance.. perfect for night out w friends or loved ones. All around great experience will definitely be back!!

i use it when i'm coming from new jersey and i wanna avoid traffic, or when i wanna eat out late. food is Israeli style and is OK, price is OK too. been there like 8 times and still going from time to time

Came here on a Saturday night with my husband and dad. The restaurant was pretty empty and we were told we could sit wherever we wanted. We would have preferred to sit outdoors but that option wasn’t available that night even though the weather was beautiful. Our waitress was great. However, we all found the live music irritating and very difficult to converse over. We asked our waitress if it’s possible for the volume to be lowered yet it seemed to stay the same. The TVs were distracting as well. This restaurant is relatively small and two huge flatscreen TVs is a bit much. Between the live music and TVs, the vibe I got was far more bar-like than steakhouse. Not very romantic or family get together oriented. A good place to watch a sports game though. The food was delicious. All of our appetizers, from the breaded cauliflower, to the beef cigars, to the chicken wings were a big hit.

Their spear ribs was rhe best I ever had, Dessert was delicious as well. There was someone playing music and drums or something and someone singing that really annoyed us. It's kind of a small place inside and people keep on going through and u have to move in your chair. If not the annoying music I will definitely go back. And maybe I will even with the music just for that spear ribs :)

We had a rental apartment on the upper Westside so in exploring the area we came across Talia' Steakhouse. It is at 668 Amsterdam Ave. The night we were there there was a 3 piece band. The food is good as\is the ambience. It is glatt kosher but the patrons are from everywhere. An additional plus is that it is open on Friday nights (prebooking and pre-payment required) Highly recommended

Talia's steakhouse has become my go-to date spot. It is guaranteed amazing food, fast and friendly service, great music and overall ambiance. Really looking forward to trying their Shabbat and holiday pre-paid meals.

asked by this establishment on many occasions while visiting NYC. Went on a recent rip and made use of a Groupon. Made a reservation for 8pm on a Tuesday and was seated early when we arrived no problem. Lively evening with all tables taken. A nice mix of people - Jews and non Jews alike. We were treated to a lovely appetizer plate of mixed starters consisting of Homemade hummus, tahini, babaganoush, eggplant salad, red cabbage slaw and beets salad along with a big basket of pita bread. We each had a bowl of matzo ball soup. I must say the matzo balls were the smoothest and tastiest matzo I've ever had! I had the Lamb shank which was truly delicious served with mashed potatoes and grilled tomatoes. My partner had the brisket of beef with asparagus. We ordered the steamed broccoli and the grilled asparagus. Had a nice kosher red wine from France and followed up the dinner with a scrumptious dark chocolate cake with a vanilla mousse center cloaked in chocolate. A lovely dining experience and we will definitely be back. Service was excellent too. Music was ok - though we found it a bit TOO loud.

My husband and I make it Talia's pretty often and we finally made it here for the first time since the COVID-19 outbreak back in March. I understand that the restaurant scene took a big hit from COVID-19 and I feel terrible. That said, the waitstaff was nonexistent, just a lovely woman with too many responsibilities and a man that the owner bullied the entire time. We ordered the Moroccan cigars and crispy cauliflower for appetizers as well as the strawberry daiquiri (one regular and one virgin). These items were the highlight of our meal. For our mains we ordered the 12 oz rib steak and the brisket. We've ordered both many times before and what we were served did not resemble what we remember. The brisket meat was super fatty and tough. The rib eye steak was tough and missing the gravy that usually is served with it. I lost my appetite. The waitress asked us if we would like to order dessert and we agreed and chose the chocolate mousse. When she brought it out, she simply added it to the table covered in the dishes from our appetizers and mains, not bothering to clear any of the dirty dishes. I don't think that's acceptable. My husband enjoyed the chocolate mousse. Overall experience was unsatisfactory.

Fabulous kosher food, great ambience and very accommodating staff! Highly recommend going to this wonderful restaurant! Excellent!

Great kosher restaurant with a huge veriety of all sorts of foods. You start with freshly prepared apprtizers (salads, cigars, hummuschicken wings etc) followed by entreè - premium meats (beef, lamb, chicken) in large portions (steaks, ribs, burgers), as well as fish. The desserts ... (chocolate dome, tiramisu) are of first quality! The staff is super friendly and does all to serve you with a smile. 3 times a week there is a live performance, which adds to the most pleasent atmosphere. As said, you will enjoy there very much. It is advised to reserve a table.

Great restaurant, excellent service, amazing ribeye steak, best one I've ever eaten so far, highly recommended For anyone looking for a good high quality steak meal this is the place !

Food is good, not great. Wait Staff is ok, not great, they'll forget parts of your order quite frequently. atmosphere is kind of nice.

True, my demands are high. As a person who lived 25 years in Israel I know exactly how Mediterranean cuisine should be. My wife and I chose to have a Sunday dinner at Talia's, when we arrived, we were surprised to discover that the place was full of teenage diners who have made a lot of noise, creating an unpleasant atmosphere. We got a table in a convenient location, with a white tablecloth which unfortunately was covered with white paper (much easier and cheaper to replace a piece of paper after every diner than replace new tablecloth). We ordered: Hummus & Mushrooms - $16: Was tasty but not worth more than $10. Middle-Eastern Kebab Platter: Two skewers 1 beef & 1 chicken - $28: for about 8 Oz of meet and one spoon of hummus with tahini and one spoon of baba-ganoush I believe the price should not surpass $20. I do understand that a restaurant is a business intended to make money for its owners. However, I believe that if a restaurant serves kosher food, which intended to address a specific segment of population - it is not right to expropriate prices and take advantage of the same population that gives this restaurant a reason to exists.

Wow. Just wow. A business that takes reservations and does not notify the guests that they ARE CLOSED due to the “mechanical issues” which come to find out is that the refrigeration system is broken. Do you think they called me or emailed me ?! No of course not. That would be to courteous. The rude woman on the phone who answered while we were standing outside kept hanging up on me. I live in Queens and a simple phone call to their reservation guest list would have saved my time and avoided this negative review. They don’t care about your time and I will never attempt to visit this place again. Also think about what they did with all that rotten meat ..... yuck

We got a good deal with a coupon. The steak was really soft and came rather quick. We were in the area as the location is pretty far from where we live. Hopefully they'll open a joint nearby.

We had dinner at Talia's and I never thought that a kosher steak could be that good. We enjoyed every bite and the service was great. I recommend this place to anyone looking for a good steak in NYC

Was unimpressed with the quality of the food and service from the staff. I ordered the kebab skewers and requested no tomatoes or peppers. The waitress indicated that the skewers are pre made and the chefs won't exchange the peppers and tomatoes for onions. No wonder this place always advertises on Groupon

Having read many reviews on both Trip Advisor and Yelp, I was a bit leery about heading to Talia's for Mother's Day Brunch. A member of our family will only eat Glatt Kosher so we chose Talia's for Mother's Day. It was actually quite good. To start things off we found a Groupon for Talia's the night before (Brunch for 4). We were seated immediately (restaurant was not filled - but seemed to be awaiting arrivals for reservations.) The Brunch menu, while not very large had a good assortment to please most palettes. The waiter and manager were quite friendly. The pita bread kept flowing - with the basket being refilled even before we emptied it. We all chose different items from the menu, from Sushi to the Spare Ribs (recommended by our waiter over the Burger). They were all quite good. The ribs were the best I have ever had at a Glatt Kosher restaurant. Even the french fries were "real" potatoes that rival any found at the best restaurants. Our 13-year old son had the steak and eggs breakfast which satisfied him well. The Groupon was accepted exactly to the terms. Frankly, this was a very good meal at a great value with the Groupon. Based on earlier reviews, I guess they just need to be consistent at this place. Clearly our experience here today would bring us back again with no hesitation.

Everything from decor, ambiance, service and food was outstanding. So glad we decided to celebrate Mother’s Day at Talia’s Steakhouse. We have their 4 course prix - fixe and it was great. Including their special Mother’s Day cocktail Rosy Gimlet. Very pretty and tasty.

Went for dinner with my wife while we toured NYC for 5 nights. Seated immediately but it took over 15 minutes for anyone on the wait staff to come to our table. Finally someone came and dropped off some free salads and bread. I told her we really wanted to order and she kept saying the appetizers were free. She clearly had a language issue but was finally able to get us a waiter. She was lovely and helpful but the first 20 minutes were nuts! My wife had the schnitzel which she said was good. My Rib Eye Steak was superb - truly delicious. The french fries were among the best I ever had. The wine was purchased by the glass and while the main courses were costly, the wines very very reasonable. Other than the unfortunate beginning, it was a very nice meal.

The food here is incredible. Visit Talia's with an appetite cause you just can’t come to Talia’s and not order the starters before your steaks. The lamb lollipops, traditional homemade middle easter platter, not to mention the seasonal starters are the perfect way to start an unforgettable meal. The best kosher steakhouse in the City! It has a traditional intimate setting, impeccable service, and the freshest and meatiest steaks. The prime rib for two is to die for!

We ate at Talia before a show on Broadway. The service was good though the tables are very close to each other. The food was good, particularly the Ossu Bucco which was tender and flavored perfectly. Very accommodating for our 9YO daughter. However, it is not a family restaurant, more of a date night place.

I had been told to visit Talia's while in NYC and I am glad that I did. The restaurant was packed, but it never seemed frantic or chaotic. The service was prompt and efficient and the atmosphere was great. The night I went, mothers was a jazz combo playing which only enhanced the dining experience. The steak I had was delicious and the prices were good. I will definitely visit again.

Talia's is one of a few kosher restaurants worldwide where you can eat on a Friday night. You choose your menu and pay online in advance. The staff is friendly and the food very good.

Excellent food and hamish atmosphere. It's nice to have a kosher restaurant that treats you like family.

I've come here 4 times already with a groupon (Any 2 entrees, 2 side dishes, and one appetizer for about $60! You can get two prime rib steaks, each normally priced $48, as your entrees!). Service is fantastic, waitstaff is very competent. Very sweet chef comes out sometimes to ask how our meal is. Great, affordable wine selection. Meat is top-notch. I'd recommend the burger and the prime rib and ribeye steaks. Lamb lollipop appetizer is amazing. The ambiance is more laid back than most kosher steakhouses (eg sports playing on the TVs) but it has more of an American steakhouse feel, which I prefer for a change. They often have live music which is great. Coming with a groupon never detracted from the great service, which I appreciate. Really nice place to come to for a couple or friends. I'd recommend looking for that groupon; a new one is posted every few months and it is really one of the best values for a meal I've ever come across. Without the groupon, a nice dinner with wine is going to cost upwards of $100, but even that's worth it

I went to this place our of desperation, after travelling from downtown, to Kasbah Deli on 85th for a lunch meeting with some vendors, Kasbah which is the place I prefer for lunch meetings, was booked for a pre Passover event, prime ko was still closed, prime burger since it was their 1st day of opening. But wasn't open yet for lunch, checked on my kosher gps app for the nearest place to go too, up popped Talia's, so we walked for 10 minutes, place is old, it needs badly a face lift, the waiter had no idea the difference of some items on the Manu, the appetizer hummus platter with pita was good, the steak London broil, nothing to rave about almost tasteless, how the others enjoyed, honestly I don't know I was a little shy to ask, my recommendation, not worth it, pass on.

We had not been for a while -- most of our dinner experiences there have been positive; a few have not been. This time we were both quite satisfied --- each of us had the grilled prime rib and were quite satisfied. The service was pleasant and prompt. The manager (a gentleman named Effie) came by to say hello (he recognized us from prior visits). All told a very positive experience. My only beef (no pun intended) with this steak restaurant is that it is rather pricey (undoubtedly due in part to the fact that they only serve kosher meat).

This nice and clean place located in the upper west side , delivers great stakes and Hamburgers as well as rich and fresh menu. Side dishes were excellent , we got a very good attention and service , and for us it was the best restaurant to visit the vacation. Kosher + getting early reserves for Shabat !

We had a reservation which was promptly honored and given a table appropriate for my mobility as I use a walker. We were brought warm pita with margarine and a spice dip.. When I told the waitress that I don't want tomatoes on the kabob skewers, she suggested that I substitute for the Israeli salad that comes with the dish along with rice and I chose asparagus. My granddaughter chose grilled chicken - although the menu also had her favorite - chicken schnitzel - which came with spinach (which she didn't eat) and potatoes. As it happened, we didn't order a salad or appetizer and found the meal quite satisfying. The verdict is that we would both go back to this restaurant. My only complaint, hard to find a parking spot in the neighborhood.

Business dinner and decided to go to the Upper West Side restaurant rather than challange the traffic midtown with the Christmas tree lighting ceremony tonight. Food was good, nothing fancy and less choices than the "named" restaurants such as Prime Grill. Cost is about 30% less than Prime Grill but the quality of the food is somewhat less as well. Still good and I would come back. Server was good and the quality of the food for the price was good as well.

Held a silver anniversary party with 19 people here and every person who attended thought it was the perfect place! The food was so good - I loved the stuffed mushrooms to start! - and the staff was so nice. Just terrific! Thank you, Talia's.

I went there for a special occasion with my family only because I had a groupon coupon. The steak was pretty good, ribs delicious, chicken average, service a bit subpar. The place was somewhat dated and rundown. I was able to see into the kitchen from my table, and it didnt look so clean. During dinner, a waitress came around with a rundown bucket filled with candles to put out on the table. Anytime I am in a restaurant and I see dirty untensils, buckets etc, its a turnoff. Overall not bad, but with so many choices, I would not return. Once is enough. even with the groupon, it was an expensive meal $265 for 6 people. . Had I paid full price I would have been very dissapointed

What can I say other than that after searching the Tri-State Area for the best kosher steakhouse I have come across Talia's Steakhouse after a recommendation from chaver shell Yonatan. All that I know is that this was the juiciest and tastiest steak I have ever eaten. I got a side of French Fries and they were the most crunchiest and tastiest I have ever eaten. I give them a A++. Litraot TripAdvisor.

Absolutely terrible experience. Waited 40 minutes for the main course only for the owner to obnoxiously tell me and my party that the food had spoiled. Waited another 40 minutes for our "second order", at which point we had to leave and had the food packed up for us. I will never go back there again and recommend that no one else does either.

My father and I dined at Talia's during our most recent stay in Manhattan. This restaurant is open till 4 AM on Saturday nights. The service, food and in house singer were amazing and I would definitely recommend this place to others.

We had an early dinner at Talia's Steakhouse over Memorial Day weekend. We were able to be seated outside which was pleasant, considering the superb weather, and our waiter was excellent. However, the food was sub-par. My wife ordered Chicken Marsella which was supposed to be chicken breast, however it was clearly dark meat chicken and she was not able to finish it. I ordered the grilled steak wrap, and the meat was tough and somewhat lacking in taste. We were disappointed.

Talia's has always been one of our "go to restaurants", we go there for date nights, holidays, and sometimes just a quick outdoor cocktail. The owner is always friendly and says hello, and the staff and food is always accommodating. However, I feel compelled to write a review based on the excellent experience we had while attending a large party (organized by somebody else). The party was a blast! Everything was delicious and super organized. I would recommend Talia's to anyone looking for a nice dinner or anyone looking to host a large event. Talia's knows what they are doing!!!

This place is kind of inconsistent. Sometimes it's great, sometimes not so much. The last time I went it the meat was cooked well, though the potatoes were tasteless. It's worth it for a burger, but for something more high end wait until they have a group on or go elsewhere.

Excellent food plus a special good hospitality. The food came fast and hot. Tablecloths were nice and clean.

Had a wonderful outdoor seder here with family and friends. The staff were terrific and the food excellent. A really unique and beautiful experience.

This place is wonderful for special occasion (Big/Small) - We celebrated my husbands 40th birthday at Talia's on a Sat evening after shabbos. It was the most special event. The staff took care of our ever need (especially the Chilean manager, Jeff, Effie the manager and Katie the event organizer). I was a little worried about the event but they done a magnificent job and did not let me worry for one ounce of the event (I even enjoyed it as the host). The food is superb and all my guests complimented the taste, presentation, portion size and the bar was great too. The music was a lovely touch and they just made sure everything looked perfect and ran smoothly!! I can not thank the team enough and recommend this place to anyone for a special event!! Set menu was great and so many options and very reasonable for such a big kosher event! I loved the salad starter too, outstanding and the parve bday cake was devious which I did not think could be possible for parve! Even the chicken fingers for the children were delish and I could not stop noshing on them too! Thank you all LOVE this place and you would not be disappointed to celebrate a simcha here too!

We were on the upper west side for a family bar mitzvah on Saturday morning. We booked and pre-paid for their Friday night dinner. The food was excellent as was the service. We have had so so experiences at Talia's in the past, but they have definitely upped their game. Worth checking out.

I have been coming to Talia's for years, and have always loved it, however, if possible I would actually say, it has gotten even better! They recently got a top notch chef, who has taken the food to an all new, modern level. I would highly recommend Talia's to first time diners, or to those repeat customers who haven't been recently, as the menu will knock your socks off! :)

Our family ate at Talia's for the second time in time in three months. In December, we ate breakfast/brunch at Talia's. The food was average and the service a notch below. We went back with a groupon for dinner and had an entirely different (and much better) experience. Our server was attentive, pleasant, and very helpful. Management also made sure to inquire as to our satisfaction. All this despite 25 people (mostly kids) celebrating a Bat Mitzvah. The food was excellent. I highly recommend the combo platter and sliders for appetizers and all of our steaks were delicious and perfectly cooked (special call out for the Prime Rib). We will be back again.

I am queen of the happy hour and if your looking for great prices, great drinks, and great service Talia's has it all. Me and my boyfriend came in one night for dinner when our server (who was just so incredibly charming and attentive) told us about Talia's happy hour. Since then I stop in at least once a week with co-workers for the $15 beer pitchers and incredible chicken wing deals. This place has it all!

I love seating outside. The fresh Israeli salads are very good. Kids seemed to enjoy steak and I thought the chicken was pretty good. Bill was not crazy. It is open Friday nights and shabbath with paying a head on credit cards. So if you visit it is an option.

I have given this restaurant multiple opportunities to prove to me why it is consistently busy with the patrons. The only conclusion I can come up with is its relatively decent pricing for a kosher restaurant meal. Portions are not particularly generous but then again, not so sure that I want them to be given the caliber of the food. This establishment offers pre-paid Shabbat meals which is a much needed service on the Upper West Side; regrettably the execution is really poor. On a recent Friday night, the presentation was pathetically poor with the Israeli salad starter consisting of some amorphous beige globs on an appetizer sized plate. The brisket was thick sliced and sloppily thrown on to a plate - hardly appealing. I can't justify the cost of this restaurant or what it offers - no more chances, I am done.

My husband and friends recently dined at Talia's for a late lunch. The service was excellent and the menu had a big variety to choose from. There is no dairy at this restaurant as it is a Kosher meat style restaurant. The prices seemed high for the food we ordered and the amount given. The best part was hot, fresh pita!

If you are traveling and staying in Manhattan and in a need for Glatt Kosher friday Shabbat Dinner - Talia's Steakhouse is your ideal spot. My family and I had a great pre-paid, prix fixe and pre-cooked Shabbat dinner at Talia's. The kids enjoyed the meat balls and the adults indulge n the slow cooked amazing brisket. On each table you have wine for Kiddush, chalah roll and even a copy of the blessing for the Kiddush. The ambiance is very unique and cozy - you really feel the Shabbat. There are no walk in customers so you can take your time and schooze with no rush to leave the restaurant. Highly recommended!

After reading a lot about this place, I was hoping for much better experience. While I can't say the food was bad, but for the price, it was just average. So was the ambiance. The tables are too close, even though the place wasn't packed when we were there. You could here every word of the conversation at the tables next to you. Don't think I'd go back.

We as a family of four ate on 2/12/15 Cannot express such a good service, the waitress Sarah very attentive, little wait for food of excellent taste and quality, the owner Effie came around each table to make sure things were all right, such place its highly recommended very anybody. Smooth Cabernet Sauvignon wine, and a nice atmosphere, Keep the good work. One hidden gem.

this restaurant is open late which is a bonus if you work late and want to go out to eat. they also have tv's so if you are a sports fan you can watch and eat at the same time. The drinks are good, food is pretty good. It's not outstanding but the service is good and it's a good place to catch dinner.

In the lower level of the Peter Jay Sharp Theater, small intimate restaurant. Excellent for pre and post theater dining. Full bar. Excellent food and catering selections.

My girlfriend and I had a great dining experience at Talia's. We started with a perfectly made strawberry mojitos. We really enjoyed the shared tuna tartar and the Middle Eastern combo platter - Moroccan cigars, pastel & kebbah. These appetizers were very fresh and tasty. For the main dish I ordered the lamb chop and my girlfriend ordered a chicken cutlet schnitzel with Israeli salad. Again, we shared our main dishes. Wow! Fantastic, large portion dinner. Although, our server was busy with other tables, she was very helpful, polite and knowledgeable. We also enjoyed the live music. It was soft and mellow jazz which was an added value to Talia's romantic and cozy ambiance. Great spot for dates.. Highly recommend!

Worst service pricy and food is really lousy and the proportions are tiny the space is average and the lights are dark food quality is poor and the cooking is lousy as well

The service, the food and the wine was excellent. The spare ribs and the French fries was exactly I like them. My warm recommendation.

Walking past on our way to our Hotel (intercontinental) at around 8pm,hubby & decided we would just fall upon a restaurant. He wanted steak me a burger. Steak was cooked how he wanted medium/rare & my burger medium. Both arrived with really tasty fries. The only thing my hubby wasn't overly fussed on was that it was overly salty, which has made us think to ask when we eat out tomorrow to go easy on the salt. We personally won't go back, but I think there is probably better out there. Service was ok, nothing special.

Best pita in town Had an amazing experience at Talia! The food was delicious, the portions were generous, and the service was attentive and kind. The atmosphere is welcoming and perfect for both casual meals and special occasions. Highly recommended!

Couple at the next table received the appetizer at the same time that we did, but they ended up finishing their entire meal before our entree arrived. My steak was overcooked although I had ordered medium rare. They did offer to redo the meal, but the delay had already been so long that we declined. The salmon that my wife had ordered was tasteless and some of the meal was missing. The saving grace was that we didn't pay that much since we bought the meal on Groupon.

We hosted a large dinner party for 30 people and were subjected to the rudest behavior we've ever experienced in a restaurant from both the wait staff and the owner. The wait staff was insulting to our guests (belittling anyone who didn't know if the plate being brought out of the kitchen was theirs, and giving a hard time to anyone who wanted to change a side dish.) Our interactions with the owner were particularly unpleasant. It was hard to believe any business owner would act in the hostile, combative way he treated his customers. He ordered our guests to "move out of the way" as they were coming into the restaurant. He also refused to lower the volume of the background music, even when we were the only ones in the restaurant. The only positive comment is that the lamb was excellent.

I bought a groupon to take my friend for her birthday. Big Mistake! The groupon cost $92 which would've been fine, had the food and service been up to par. The waiter, although a seemingly nice guy, appeared frazzled, as if it was his first day serving. It took him 20 minutes and 2 requests to bring pita and 15 minutes to bring us a fork for our dessert . I ordered the rib eye steak medium and it came out a tasteless medium well without any juices. I asked the waiter for a special steak sauce such as a red wine sauce or pareve bernaise sauce and he brought out A1 sauce. We ordered a vegetable salad . After some time the waiter came back to us and told us that the "salad maker wasn't in" and so the only salad available was the Mediterranean platter. Needless to say, I will search for other kosher restaurants to get a good steak. Please Talia, if you are reading this, take this as constructive criticism. There are few kosher restaurants in the neighborhood. It would be nice if Talia's would be a place where upper west siders could get great food, great service at a great value.

I came to Talia's recently for a date and I am very happy with that decision. The ambiance inside the restaurant was cozy and inviting. The waitstaff were polite and attentive, filling our cups with water right when we sat down. My partner and I split a steak and mediterranean platter, both of which were excellent. I especially liked the beet salad. Overall, very pleased! Definitely recommend this place for couples and for families.

Really tasty dish with beautfully cooked piece of salmon. In fact best salmon I've ever had! Serves with scopps of different salads including hummous, tomatoes, red cabbage, egg and mayo, tabouleh and beetroot. Perfect for an Israeli Ashkenazi pallate! I am a chocoholic so I ordered a xhoc mousse cake and unfortunately the dessert didnt live up to its main. Was definitely bought in, not homemade, and the mousse wasn't creamy and rather unpleasnt. Shame as main dish was so good, but apparently they are re-vamping their menu so who knows!

We used a groupon to eat here, Loads of food and we both enjoyed our entrees...steak and brisket. There are three fish options on the menu too.The service was excellent. Our waitress stopped by several times to refill our wine glasses.

I've been to Tailas a bunch of times and it just gets better and better! The staff is really nice and really quick and polite! Your cup will never be empty always full with water and a smile smiling at you! Just a tip order the onion rings they are the real deal just like everything else!! Thank you Tailas I'll see you soon!

My family and I had reservations for passover, and even thought the restaurant was extremely busy, we were seated as soon as we arrived, it was nice to know that they respected our reservation, and with elderly members on our group, there was no delay. The manager paid frequent visits to our table, to ensure that everything was prompt, and to give directions to our server in regards to refills, etc. The food was absolutely delicious, our plates were filled with tasty, hot food, and my plates of barbecue ribs was incredible. Over all a great experience, from service to food everything was perfect. Highly recommended!!!

I very seldom do reviews , but this place has the best prime rib hands down. I recommend this dish with a side of sauteed mushrooms ! its really good you guys have to try it

Talia’s Steakhouse is so much fun to go to! They are one of the few kosher places open until 4 a.m. on Saturday night. Plus, they will keep serving food and drinks until it is time for them to prepare to close. They have a full bar, beers, wines, and cocktails available…the prices are reasonable too! I love, love, love going to Talia’s after leaving a bar. There is this guitar player/singer/one-man-band that is awesome! He will even take requests if you ask him. Talia’s is happening, and definitely the place to be at any point on a Saturday night.

Purchased a Groupon for four and had a nice time with our friends. The food was delicious and the waitress was very good about asking the chef which foods were gluten free for me. Not sure why I was charged $20 on top of the Groupon price. This is what we ordered. Appetizer of tortillas and Mediterranean salad platter. Was served our bottle of red wine. Entrees were grilled salmon with side of spinach risotto , ribeye steak which came with mashed potatoes and the additional side was grilled vegetables, kebabs with side of fries and Chilean sea bass with baked sweet potato. We did order 2 sodas so expected to be billed $6 for that. The waitress was very clear that the entrees came with a side and you get to choose an additional one. Perhaps you can tell me what on this menu would bring my charge to 19.44? Other than that the food was very good.

I asked for sliced lemons.....i had to ask again....and again.... We got appetizers.....got no plates .... My friend had wrong order of her drink ..... They asked my husband if he wants french fries or a salad with his order of meat. He said salad...he didnt get it.. My short rib was unchewable... Their meat should come with prescription for gastritis.... cause its unchewable.. Thank God i have a big German Shepherd at home who might be able to digest it.....maybe...not even sure. .. We asked for 1 cup of tea to go... they brought hot water in a plastic bowl like for a chineese food soup....lol... To pay $300 for 4 people for bad food and bad service..... not worth it. The only highlight of the evening was a singer Sami Eldebs. He was great. Hope he finds a better place to work. He deserves better. Great talent. We Do NOT recommend that place.

I went there with my friends for just to catch up we enjoyed the place , but the food was nothing to crazy it was ok . I did pay the bill so maybe that's why I'm saying that it was not the best I'll have to ask my friends if the liked it (they liked it (; ) no but seriously if you're looking for a real good steak this is not the place but it is a nice place live music etc.

Came in with 3 of my family for dinner on a Saturday. First thing I noticed was the music - tunes you would more likely hear in a nightclub, which didn't give the place a good atmosphere for a restaurant. We seemed to have a few different waiters (one took our order, one brought the wine and didn't offer anyone to try it, just poured it out and left) and none of them tried to make conversation with us which was disappointing (we did try with them but didn't get much/anything in return. Food was decent but the whole experience just wasn't great. Having said all that, at 9pm there was a young man playing live music and he was very good, so at least for the last half an hour we were there we didn't have to listen to nightclub music and that gave the place a much nicer dinner atmosphere. He was even taking requests which was nice. Definitely keep hiring him to play as he was the highlight of our evening!

Expensive uncomfortable for price appears as a casual restaurant but bill was over $180 for salad ribs and a steak- no alcohol. Taking advantage of the kosher observant customer with inflated price and why no baked potato only fries n roasted n mashed????

Wandered into Talia's while walking around, what a great find. The pita bread is fantastic, served with dipping oil and very tasty butter. Don't miss the lamb pops! Perfectly balanced treat. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, will be back here for sure

It has been a few years since our last meal at this UWS kosher meaty restaurant. Our last meal was meh, but we were hungry and there was a long wait at ABC. we were seated quickly and was greeted by a cheery server. We started with a modestly priced bottle of wine which was served promptly. Our dinner order was served as the way we ordered it and was delicious. We will definitely return.

The staff was very accommodating for our large group at Talias. Not only was the service impeccable, but the food was delicious and the ambience was great as well. The steak was cooked to perfection and I will definitely be back for future events! I highly recommend booking your next dinner there and it's a great date spot too.

Perfect birthday celebration at Talia’s tonight. We were a party of 9. The food was delicious and large portions. The wine list is outstanding. Our server was great. Was highly impressed & we are planning to come for Passover Seder in April. Highly recommend for group dining.

Reading the reviews, I was expecting that the restaurant would be great, if not decent. Unfortunately, I'm entirely disappointed with Talia's. I ordered a prime rib (the waitress said that it's delicious and the best meat); it was dry and inedible. Perhaps it was just my piece of meat. My husband ordered a soup; it never arrived (the waitress forgot that he ordered it). It's a good thing I got the Groupon deal because I would have been extremely angry if I had to pay a lot of money for the unappetizing food. I gave an extra star since the waitress was nice.

We have frequented Talia's over the years and, indeed, I have written a number of positive reviews. Not this time. Our steaks (rib-eyes) were on the tough side and my "side" of French fries were soggy. Yuch. Meanwhile, the prices have risen even if the eating experience has deteriorated. Not sure we will return.

I have now been to Talia's three or four times. One of those times, the food and experience was good. The rest, no so much. I was there a few days ago, and the place was jammed to the rafters. It took us about ten minutes to get seated, even with a reservation. We then proceeded to wait. And wait. And wait. In all, it took an hour and 20 minutes to get served the main course, and about 30 minutes for the appetizer to arrive. The explanation was that they had a large crowd, blah, blah, blah. It was true, but i have never been here when it was no busy, so this was not a palatable excuse. The food was only fair. We ordered the boneless chicken wings in barbecue sauce and lamb "lollipops". Although the menu said that there were 5 lollipops per order (there were five of us) the server told us there were only four. In the end, five arrived, and both appetizers were great. We then had a variety of fair entrees. The hamburger, despite being ordered medium was raw, the duck had to be sent back since it too was raw. If it was not for our waitress Sam, who was amazing, i would have been furious. She was extremely attentive, made changes to the bill based on what happened, and was pleasant and cheerful in the face of a bad experience. While i thought Sam was terrific, she is not going to get me back there any time soon.

Few days before we have ordered food by phone, but at arrival the food was not what we had ardered. And we had to wait 45 minutes till food was ready. The food we do get was poor quality, a kind of snackbar food. It is a pity, because we were looking forward to good food. Unfortunately we won't come here again. Very disappointing.

Went into the city for the day and ate here with my brother. The meal was cooked to perfection, service was top notch. A gem in the city.

We wanted quite badly for Talia to do well, since it's in our neighborhood. The bread we started with was good. However, from that point on, we waited a full 45 minutes for our appetizer. We had to ask a few times about it and did not get a single apology. We were offered complimentary drinks, but frankly, we were so hungry we really just wanted our food. The steak entrees were pretty good. (The food is not the issue here; it's the service.) When we asked for the check, we were told that the gratuity that was calculated based on the actual meal cost (not the groupon) had already been added. That's totally unacceptable, considering we'd had such bad service. Simply no option. We won't be back.

Had a very nice dinner at this Kosher restaurant on the upper West Side. Sidewalk seating added to the beautiful evening. Used a Groupon coupon which took about 60% off the prix fixe dinner. Started off with soup, an appetizer, a very good ribeye steak w/mashed and a couple of side veggies, a very tasty tiramasu and a bottle of red wine. Food was very good, service was as well, and the ambiance was just right. The Groupon coupon made this the deal of the year!

Steak was tough fatty and undercooked. Brisket was OK but not hot enough. Waitress was very nice but unprofessional. Two piece band while hardly high quality was fun. I was there once before about a year ago and had a slightly better meal but only fair at best. All in all unless you must have a kosher meat meal in this area I'd stay away

So I've been here three times over the course of a few years. The first time was fantastic. Food was good, environment was very energetic and fun - it was an organized meal for Passover. However, I went there in 2018, they told me something didn't have nuts, it did, and I had a major medical reaction that requires them to run to a CVS for benadryl. That was the dessert of a night when my father went into the kitchen to get our soup. Fast forward to this past September 2019, organized meal for Friday night, saw the table next to us have to do the exact same thing my father did. We waited probably 15 minutes for water, and the only reason we got food was we knew to be insistent and stop staff and personally ask them for their assistance. Not going back.

We went for dinner and ate outside. The service was okay. We both ordered chicken. My husband started eating his meal and realized that the chicken was completely burned on the bottom. First of all it was noticeable and shouldn't have been served. Then, the waiter took the meal back and prepared another meal. Of course, it took so long that my husband and I shared my meal (which was good). By the time the new chicken dish was prepared, we had to take it with us. The waiter and manager did say they were sorry (and offered a small appetizer). I have eaten in restaurants all over the world and I have never had any chef burn the chicken and serve it. I think the manager could have offered us dessert or taken something off the meal. It was definitely disappointing since my husband only eats Kosher Meat and Chicken and we were looking forward to a nice meal out.

I needed a kosker open restaurant on friday evening. Talia was the only available one. The service was okay. Food was not good at all.

I had an amazing dinner at Talia's Steakhouse. The atmosphere was great, the people were friendly, and most importantly, the food was delicious. Our waiter was nice and helpful and made sure everything was doing okay. The steak was delicious, perfectly cooked. The only downside I experienced was that the restaurant was a little too crowded and the tables were close together. Other than that, I had a great experience at Talia's and will definitely return.

Thanks so much to Talia’s Steakhouse owner Effie, Waiter Jake, the bartender, and especially the Chef of Talia’s—my father and I had the most wonderful dinner last night here. We had Wings with bbq sauce , Bloody Marys, Matza ball soup , Yemenite chicken entree, and chocolate mousse! It was the most delicious and enjoyable meal we had both ever had, both before and after Corona bans. But most significantly, as our first restaurant outing after a long and hard season, Talia’s Steakhouse was a delight. We wish them many years of continued success in serving gourmet kosher fare, joy and celebration.

We were referred by our Hotel to eat there . We had a wonderful meal, the steaks were delicious and cooked to perfection. We decided to go again last night and had another wonderful meal. I had the prime beef brisket, and my wife had the chicken schnitzel my daughter had her favorite, which was the 16 ounce ribeye steak. Another fantastic meal.

Talia's Stakehouse is in the Upper West side of manhattan. In the warmer season, they have a nice outdoor eating area. It's great for a date or a nice dinner. My group of three had a Groupon for four and they still allowed us to use it. We took a little while to decide what to order and the waitress got annoyed with us which I understand but was still unimpressed with it. The stakes were either a bit overdone or underdone. The wine was nice and the decor was too. HELPFUL? CLICK THUMBS UP!

A few weeks ago my wife and i went to brunch at Talia's and the entire experience was amazing. The weather was nice and we weer able to sit on the porch to eat. Before we ate fresh pita was put out and flavored margarinew or olive oil with spices. I had brisket hash with eggs and my wife had salmon and eggs and both dishes were exceptional. The mimosa's we drank were the perfect touch to complete a wonderful meal.

The restaurant is warm and the staff is welcoming. The menu is very interesting including very flavorful Middle Eastern and North African specialties; the ribeye steak and Moroccan salmon are really special. The portions are generous, the desserts are delicious, we had a great meal meal, a wonderful time.

I treated a long–time business partner and very close friend for her birthday, which happened to fall on ROSH HASHANAH this year. The food was extremely delicious, fresh and kosher. I dine at many restaurants in New York City as I run a thriving organic product business; most of the time, the food ranges from average to above average. At TALIA'S STEAKHOUSE & BAR, my business partner and I both ordered Israeli salad, a nine–ounce burger with French fries and a carbonated beverage for dinner. The Israeli salad was fresh and tasty; the nine–ounce burger was cooked to my specifications; and the French fries were absolutely fresh, hot and delicious! I ordered two glasses of piña colada. The piña colada was indeed refreshing, creamy and tasty. For dessert, my business partner ordered tiramisu which she was pleasantly surprised of its sheer rich body and taste. I ordered mango–flavored and raspberry–flavored sorbet. Upon consuming said dessert, the mango–flavored sorbet as well as the raspberry–flavored sorbet were exceedingly fresh and tasty! Overall: A GREAT KOSHER NEIGHBORHOOD RESTAURANT TO DINE IN AGAIN ––– AGAIN AND AGAIN!!

Good accessible kosher restaurant near Central Park . Went for brunch on Sunday. Food was reasonable but waitress appeared to have had a bug night out the previous night and just wasn't there for us. Had to keep asking for everything like flat wear, napkins, table cloth, silverware etc. dreadful coffee!

The food here is decent of good value. I also like the outdoor seating and the live music that they often have. That being said, every time I go there is some issue with the waiters - they consistently mess up orders and then have bad attitudes about it. The owner is a nice guy who usually makes things right, but should do a better job of training his staff in customer service.

My family and I went to Talia's Steakhouse a kosher restaurant in manhattan on the Upper West Side last week for a re-union. We were a party of 8 and we were seated comfortably at the booths. The place was quite large and filled to capacity but our servers were very attentive and professional. We each had an enjoyable dining experience. I ordered the PrimeRib for 2, which came out sizzling from the kitchen, and shared it with my brother! He had never eaten steak at a kosher restaurant before and after the meal he laughed at how he had always been hesitant to eat kosher meat because of rumored saltiness. Boy, did Talia's Steakhouse prove him wrong - 5 stars!

This was the first time for me and my wife, and we will go back again, soon! Most importantly, the food was excellent. We ate a tender, succulent prime rib steak and a tender, delicious lamb shank. The portions were fulfilling and rather large. We shared a tiramisu with chocolate edges and it was as good as we have tasted. Service great, ambiance elegant. We could not have asked for more.

We were greeted as we entered the resturant and seated right away our water was prompt and pleasant, we had for appetizer the mixed Mediterranean plate and a soup for our main we had rib steak with fries, we each had a drink from the bar with our meal. And then we enjoyed dessert. All in all a very enjoyable meal and at a price that did not break the bank. We are defiantly going back

We have gone often to Talia's the kosher steak restaurant on the Upper Westside though we have not been for 4-5 months. We went with friends --- three of the four of us were quite pleased with our steaks -- but my wife thought hers was tough and a bit too thin. The fries that accompanied the steaks were done nicely. The young woman who served us (name = Caroline) was wonderful --- remarkably pleasant and very efficient.

I ordered chicken breasts on roasted potatoes and spinach leaves. It was juicy and tasty, the spinach made the meal very Mediterranean and simple, but still very tasty.

They have a groupon for half off dinner which makes this place a great spot for kosher dining! We got there right when it opened so service lagged a touch, but as the staff was just showing up I wasnt surprised! We got the combo platter to start and the kibe was some of the best I have ever had! I had the slow cooked BBQ short ribs and I literally could not stop eating them, they were amazing! I was not impressed with the spinach risotto, but its hard to make a good risotto without the milk products.

I came for New Year's eve with a few friends and expected so much better for the price we ended up paying. Their 'draft' beers were store bought bottles (we witnessed them bringing them into the restaurant), most of the options on the menu weren't available, once the terribly average food came it was cold only for them to reheat in a microwave and ruin the remaining veg. Along with the poor food, although we had a perfectly nice waiter, there was far too many staff running around with some ridiculous background music being played which added to the frustrations. I would never recommend this place to anyone.

Hi Katie and staff at Talia's Wanted to thank you very much. The Shabbat Take away menu food was amazing and the brisket was delicious. Huge portions. The challah and mini wine bottles were a real treat. Appreciate your assistance and help.

The review says it all. Ordered a filet mignon at 7:30pm and they had none left. Server then said don't do the ribeye, it's the smallest ribeye I have ever seen. I then ask what the butchers cut is, she replies by saying I don't know and then runs to ask the chef. The explanation didn't make sense. But I tried it anyway because she said the ribeye stunk. The dish came out and it was the worst cut and worst steak I ever had in my life. Ponderosa has better cuts! I ate it because I was hungry and bread alone wouldn't suffice. By the way, the steak came with a side salad....with no dressing. She asked how my meal was and I said one of the worst cuts ever. She promptly said she would speak with management. She did and came back and said both managers said since I ate most of the steak they couldn't do anything. They didn't even come over to apologize. Server was great and I could tell she felt bad. She should work somewhere else! Bottom line is pass on the opportunity. By the way, how does a steakhouse run out of steak? Also they have a card on the table that says free glass of wine if you fill out a review and they can review it first. That should be telling. One last thing I'm still in the restaurant as I'm writing this review.

I've been to Talia's a few times. The staff is always friendly and helpful. We ordered from the daily specials were amazed by the platters. The BBQ short ribs was a huge plate of tender and delicious meat. We couldn't even touch the mashed potatoes that came with it. We also ordered roast lamb and pasta with a mushroom sauce that was again all meat with a little pasta. We left stuffed and happy

This store has the most amazing mouth watering steak you can get + they are CHEAP! I go out to eat once a week and i go to talia`s every month as part of my routine. Cost me half other restaurants would charge:) Go there if you like good hot steak sizzling on a metal personal grill:)

Amazing experience! We went for Shabbat dinner, pre-fixe, and everything was just delicious! The service was great and there was so much food that we ended up taking some home with us--well worth the price. It wasn't crowded either, which made it a very pleasant experience. Highly recommend the mixed Middle Eastern salad, Moroccan Chicken soup and Lamb Stew--otherworldly :)

The food was pretty good and I am fairly critical of restaurants. The wait staff was also very attentive.

Stopped in to Talia's about two years after our last visit (also a disappointment but at least we got to eat that time). It was a sunny Memorial Day and we were excited to sit outside and eat a burger etc. There are like only two kosher restaurants in NYC with outdoor seating and this is one of them. We were happy to get an outdoor table and a basket of yummy pita was brought to us immediately. Good start right. We order a sangria and a glass of red wine from a not "feeling" his job sort individual. His body was there but the rest of him was not...at all. 30 minutes and 10 pieces of pita with garlic butter later has my husband and I looking at each other like "huh...did he not understand that we were ordering those drinks?"...yeah he was acting THAT out of it. My husband had to get up to check on the drink order and then finally we received our drinks. My super watery sangria had been poured from some precious customer's unfinished pitcher....BUT we were sitting in the sunshine, the baby was sleeping in his stroller, we had a burger, salad and fries on the way so life was good and zero complaints were being uttered by us! ......and then...30 more minutes pass and my husband and I start looking at each other like "huh?" again. He flags someone down...a new someone since our original waiter was still there but had arbitrarily decided to serve...well...not us anymore. (Please note that there are five 2 top tables currently seated in restaurant of about 35 tables...they were not even close to busy). My husband asks the waitress to pls check on our order. She said she would and then...failed to return...ever. He flags down another person maybe 15 minutes after that and asks them to pls check on our order...and then...they TOO failed to return...EVER. We could see that they were still working...they just couldn't accomplish this task for some reason. Mind you, we still hadn't lodged any complaints not had we copped an attitude of any kind. This was not a case of user error...this was an obvious case of server error. FINALLY, my husband finds the manager and asks to cancel the order as we have literally been sitting there for over an hour (baby still sleeping and a never before attempted quiet meal together for my husband and I ruined by this restaurant's employees BTW). She wanted to still charge for our drinks but the credit card machine was down so she took a picture of my husbands credit card...yeah that's kind of not a secure way to hold customer information. Then suddenly we are like...WHY should we have to pay for these drinks after this ridiculousness with no apology or attempt to make things right by the management???? So he went back and asked for our drinks to be comped. She said they would be and the card wouldn't be charged...but I told my husband to keep checking his cc statement bc I wouldn't be surprised if charging our credit card would be the one thing they would actually follow through on. Just seriously, they are so disinterested in providing customer service or MEALS...that no customers should be interested in this restaurant. TO BE AVOIDED people!!!!

We went to Talia’s to celebrate a friend’s birthday during Passover week. The restaurant was crowded like crazy, but the owner, Effie, was as lovely and pleasant and the most gracious host during this hectic time. He made sure we had whatever we needed and made it a wonderful occasion for all of us. Our waitress, Lindsey, was calm and perfectly lovely and despite the place being jam packed, made sure we had a wonderful birthday celebration with our friends. I’d certainly go back!

My husband and I went with another couple for a kosher-for-Passover dinner. The staff was friendly, but the service - from taking our order to bringing the food - was truly terrible. It took ages to get someone to take our order; two of our three starters and one of our main courses were never delivered. No explanations or apologies were offered; that's just the way it was, the food just didn't come. We'll remember it, but we won't repeat it!

The food is average, but the prices are pretty good. If you get a groupon you really get a good value. The staff is pleasant and the atmosphere is decent not too crowded and not too empty

I came across Talia’s Steakhouse and Bar by accident with my group of friends. As soon as we walked in we were welcomed and seated. I’m very pleased with extremely friendly staff and amazing, delicious food. Portions are very, very generous. This place is wonderful for every type of occasion. The atmosphere is great for group dining as well as dates. Every table has fresh red rose and candles which makes experience even better. I would definitely recommend everyone to go to this restaurant and enjoy their dinner.

Talia’s food is delicious- so flavorful and the portions are generous. I always look forward to eating here. The staff is attentive and service is excellent. This is one of my favorite restaurants. I highly recommend Talia’s!

From the second we walked in we were welcomed so warmly (and the place was PACKED) our waitress- stephon was the sweetest and nicest person!! The food was YYUUUMMMM!!!!! Highly recommend! Didnt love the music and TVs. A bit distracting for a date night....

Food was ok. Service was below par. Will not revisit. Severs first day. Had no idea what was available wine wise.

The Chenin Blanc was sweet and awful, the burgers were overcooked despite our orders for medium rare and medium, the cesear salad was romaine lettuce with dressing - no parmesan and no croutons and no anchovies. The french fries were soggy, chewy wet things. They had a guitarist AND the TV on over his head! Really pitiful, I don't know how they stay open!

I had dinner with my family at Talia's steakhouse recently, and between a delicious meal and fantastic service, I was truly impressed. I highly recommend this place for a nice family dinner, to a romantic date(they have live music certain night's), to a business meeting. I recommend the prime rib, the ribs, and the grilled salmon, all of them very tasty.

I am writing this from memory so I hope it will be accurate. I went to dinner at Talia's (with my friend) on a cold February evening. I was visiting New York City for 3 nights and I live in Israel. I ordered one of the "Ribs" dishes. We get great grilled meat in Beersheva, the city nearest to my house, but I can't usually get beef ribs. These were plentyful and with a delicious barbeque sauce. It was an absolute treat for me. It was so cold outside and so cozy (if a bit noisy at times) inside. We did not reserve a table because it was a week night and we did not expect it to be crowded. Also, it was quite late. So we were surprised that it was crowded and we did have to wait for a table but only for about ten minutes. I think my friend got a steak which she enjoyed. We both got sweet potato curly-que fries. Those were delicious. I only had something similar once, in Jerusalem. There were all kinds of people eating there, including families (despite the relatively late hour) and lots of action. I had read mixed reviews on this place- some VERY positive and some negative- but our dining experience was enjoyable. I had a shot of Jameson Irish whiskey or Glenlivet or Glenfiddich single malt Scotch. I do not remember, now, but it hit the spot with the meat! We both had sorbet for dessert. We enjoyed that but the people at the table (very close) next to us said we should have had the cakes, which they raved about. They did look good. If one does NOT keep kosher then the prices might seem high for what you get but I think it was very reasonable for KOSHER in Manhattan. I would definitely go back to this restaurant. Out waitress was nice and attentive, despite the crowds. We met the owner who was friendly and talked to us and the woman at the bar was very helpful. I went up there to see what they had and not just look at the drink menu. If you want to be alone in the restaurant, this is not the place for you. If you want good food and a cozy atmosphere, this is the place. The other diners are quite friendly , too. Some of them used some kind of coupons for the meal. I will definitely come back on my next visit to the States and look forward to sitting outside under the awning, weather permitting, that I saw pictures of. That was not an option in the winter. We ended the meal with hot tea. It was quite late but nobody rushed us out. It is located on Amsterdam Avenue at 94th Street (I think). Next time I go, I will definitely get the ribs again! When I am not in NYC, I dream of the Pastrami, there, but now I will dream of these beef ribs, too!

I mean it is a little expensive but it is the best kosher place I have been in my life. Try the salads are amazing. the service is really nice, the owner is in there the whole time.

If you are looking for a Kosher steak house on NY's Upper Westside, this is a good choice and, price-wise, more reasonable than it's competition in the area. We had not been for a while but went with friends recently -- as usual, we ordered rib-eye steaks which were flavorful and good quality beef. I chose fries as my side dish -- they were just OK in my judgment. The service was prompt and pleasant and the noise-level was acceptable but at times I had to strain a bit to hear our friends.

Food is excellent of course get the stakes that is the reason your going there. The Yemenite soup was just delicious. A little pricy for such a type of place but I guess that is what you pay for in the city. Friendly service. Would go back again.

Definitely a place I'd recommend. They serve HUGE steaks. My fiance and I loved it. Very nice kosher spot to celebrate with your loved ones. Also came here with Avi, one of my best friends. Was a superb meal. And the manager Adam is amazing.

I was looking for a kosher restaurant on the Upper West Side of Manhattan while I was visiting from out of town with my family. Talia's Steakhouse was recommended to me by a friend, and I was not let down. The food was great! The atmosphere was charming. The waitstaff gave my kids some crayons to draw on the table paper while they were waiting. It was a lovely evening out. I highly recommend it!

they didnt have much of a selection for a non gluten eater which is unusual in a steakhouse. the food was ok nothing special. my husband ordered a drink and had to send it back like three times it was insanely sweet.

The quality of the beef at Talia's seems to vary from time to time. My wife and I had ribeye steaks -- good but hardly great. That said, the place is quite pleasant. The staff provides good service and the owner comes around to chat with patrons -- a likable fellow.

It's hard to find a top-notch kosher restaurant in your travels, but if you're ever in the upper West Side. It's a great under-the-radar Kosher steakhouse. I bring my business partners here for meetings often.Fitting an enjoyable meal during hectic work hours is often hard! The staff are welcoming and attentive.Menu is simple yet accommodating. Even accommodates vegetarians. Plus, they have a full bar! Always leave here with my guest happy. Definitely a place to check out.

What a local gem. Really enjoyed myself ... Such great authentic food and served with a smile . My family and I are putting this on the list for repeat business

The food was delicious, the service was great and the ambiance excellent. There was life music on saturday night, and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Just moved to NYC and found this amazing Steakhouse by walking on Amsterdam Ave one night. Was in the mood for steak so decided to try it. We were greeted right away and seated in a nice corner table. Right away- got water and pita with 2 dips. Best pita I had. I ordered prime rib for one and my friend got their special halibut. My steak was perfect. I tried the halibut, next time definitely going for it. We finished a bottle of wine. We got segal’s merlot, very smooth. We shared chocolate soufflé. Amazing and must try. Service, ambience and food was perfect. Definitely highly recommend.

Four of us ate dinner here on a Groupon last night; after that experience we will definitely come back at full price. We were seated immediately (on a Sunday evening) by a genial hostess. Water and bread were on the table in seconds. We enjoyed the house red wine, a decent cabernet. Appetizers: Lollipops - excellent. Spicy, similar to falafel balls with lamb inside. Five on a platter, inexplicably served on top of cucumber slices. Thai steak salad - respectable. Vegetables were basic but fresh, the steak pieces were good. Entrees: Two prime ribs, medium rare, and one prime rib, regrettably well done. These were excellent, cooked perfectly and flavorful. One peppered filet mignon - this I regret. There was nothing wrong with it per se, but it's heavily peppered with no subtlety and overwhelms the filet. I would order a prime rib instead. Two sides of fries, one of salad and one of string beans. The fries were good if a bit overcrisped. The string beans were chewier than I would have preferred and I can't comment on the salad. The service was outstanding; waitstaff were solicitous without fawning and each course was prompt. Music (piped in via Spotify) was decent, mostly classic rock with the occasional awful Spotify misstep, but was definitely louder than it should have been. Lighting was sufficient, subdued but not the Batcave ambience some restaurants mistake for intimacy. Overall a great experience, I would definitely come back.

The service is lovely and friendly. The food is plentiful and very very tasty. The neighborhood is nice to walk in. Our family will eat here every time we are in town!

My wife and I had dinner at Talia's Steakhouse and Bar. We had a great time. Our two waiters were very helpful and attentive. (And they had a good sense of humor, as well.) The portions served were very large. The food was delicious. I ordered BBQ spare ribs with a side order of mashed potatoes, my wife had the hamburger and we shared a delicious leafy salad. The two couples at the next table, whom we struck up a conversation with, were also happy with their meals. We'd highly recommend this restaurant to anybody who'd like to have a great night out.

We been in this restaurant couple of times in the last week. We loved the live music on Saturday night, the singer and the atmosphere was really good. The food was ok.. and the best part is the discount with the Groupon voucher.

I am surprised that there are so many fantastic reviews for this restaurant. The food was pretty good and fairly priced for kosher food. The appetizers were fantastic as was the wine. I think I would prefer to go for just wine and appetizers. We had the most wonderful waitress. However, even though we were not complaining, she kept apologizing because we were not getting any food. I do not know how their kitchen is run but it took a very very very long time for our food and then only half the meals came and we had to wait about 10 minutes for the rest of the meals. In fact, people at the table next to us left because they got so tired of waiting. Our waitress, company, wine and appetizers bring my rating up to average because they were exceptional. However, I would never go here if I had plans to do anything afterwards. Oh yes, they ran out of french fries. I have never before heard of a restaurant running out of french fries. Not major by any means, but just another mild annoyance.

Found a groupon for a full size dinner for two for a great price. Took the wife there and had a great time. Good appetizers and steak. Service took a bit long, but they were busy so I get it. Not too crazy about having an enormous suggested tip for the waiter based on what the food "would've" cost without the groupon... It's a bit of a stupid ploy really. Dinner for two shouldn't typically result in a $30-40 tip for a waiter who simply took your order.... but overall not a bad experience. If you can, try to eat outside, it's too loud and stuffy inside the restaurant, which can make it hard to hear your fellow diners.

We visited Talia Steakhouse last night. We had late reservations due to coming after a Broadway show. We were seated and ordered a bottle of wine. Our waitress Jessica, explained the menu and we placed our order. Soon a platter of humas, tahini, beats, and babaganoush with pita bread arrived. The tastes and smells were exactly like what we experienced one month ago on our trip to Israel and Jordan. We shared a large chopped salad and crispy fried cauliflower. Both very generous portions and well prepared. My ribsteak came with French Fries. We shared sides of fried onion rings and asparagus. My wife hade the seared Tuna with rice. Overall the service was not rushed despite the late time. The food was plentiful and good.

We came here on a weeknight and enjoyed the meal. The prices are a little high, but reasonable given that the food is kosher and on the upper west side of Manhattan. Most importantly, the food was good and the service was great.

We had a good dinner Saturday night. The steaks were expensive but good. The side dishes were overpriced. The service was good. The live music was very good and added nice atmosphere

My family and I had the best dinners at Talia’s. We were graciously received and got free sangrias, free appetizers , these are the best peoples ever! I’m going back!!!!

Unfortunately rather overpriced for the size and quality of the steaks and also the drinks. Ordered a Jameson rocks and received a shot with some ice in it (not the NY standard). The service was reasonable but again not at the level that would be expected based on the prices.

The food was amazing ! We especially loved the fried cauliflower and schnitzel ! Great servics. The artwork and music truly sets the tone to this wondefully warm environment .

I've been to Talia before but this time I took the family and patents for my daughter's graduation celebration. Everyone was exceptionally nice and helpful. The food was excellent which made for a fantastic celebration.

From the friendly greeting, friendly staff, delicious appetizers and perfectly cooked steaks (all 4 of us), to the really nice live background music--a perfect family evening. Would certainly go back.

Horrible place!!! The food is undercooked, the staff is rude and slow. This is the worse place ever, wouldn't come back even if I was dying from starvation

We came here for my friend's birthday. Was very pleased with the food. Shared combo platter and French fry trio to start. We all had steaks and we find very tasty and juicy. The cocktails are very good. Friendly, fast service and the ambience is great! Highly recommend.

took my wife there for her birthday. we loved it, the ambience was very nice, the service was great(daniel the waiter knew what we wanted to do next without even asking). and they took care of every request with the greatest of patience. and the food was awesome. expensive, but was told that there is a groupon coupon available. definitely recommend this place for a good meal or romantic date.

Sunday brunch. Place looks nice and we decide to come in. I order a sam adams beer, after almost 10' waitress comes and tells me we don't have it anymore. Ok np, i take another one. We order the food, a starter salad plate and a main course with request to serve all at same time. Starter arrives, main course 15' later. After 5' another waiter brings us again a starter salad... Once done i ask to pay. 10' later another waiter brings the bill. 10' later i need to beg that somebody takes it back... I see complaints from several other tables... Service seems to be completely out of control here, at least today. also completely unclear who is in charge here. As the food was just slightly better than the service we definitely will not be back!

Preparing for Passover can be overwhelming and Talia's provided a nice break from the preparation. We chose to sit indoors and the front wall was a row of opened doors, providing good ventilation and a view of Amsterdam Avenue. Outdoor diners could simply enjoy the evening spring air. The food was delicious, from the Moroccan Fish, to the Chicken Marsala, to the Chocolate Mousse. And the portions were large so there was plenty to take home. After a year of isolation due to Covid, it was nice sharing the Seder with people we knew and people we didn't know. Effie, the owner, was constantly walking around the room making sure things were good for his guests. The waiter service was excellent, and a special shout-out to our waiter, Francis. I highly recommend Talia's Steakhouse!

Delicious!. Had a great time. Beautiful ambiance and delicious food. Went for birthday with 5 people and everyone enjoyed and had a great time.
Weekday Visit
Use a groupon for 4 at Talias on a Wednesday evening. Absolutely delightful meal. More food than you can eat, very tasty, excellent service. I would recommend the filet over the butchers cut, for sure. My steak came overdone and they practically begged me to let them replace it. I would go there again anytime.
