Ritornerò! (I will return)

By JPKNYC |

Good space, good bar, very good food, and the service was excellent. It's a winner. We ordered without diving too deep on the menu ---- burrata (which was served too cold, just saying), the NY strip special, some wine, and a dessert. It was very good, but there is so much more to find out! I look forward to returning.

Great family dinner

By lifel0ngtraveler |

Good food. Good company. The staff were very attentive and friendly. I am most appreciative of a quieter location where we could have a conversation.

Good spot for an afternoon vino

By The_YTT |

I dropped in here on an early afternoon while waiting for Momofuku next door to open. It was a great spot to hang out, eat some cheese & charcuterie, and enjoy a glass of wine. The bar staff were very friendly and welcoming.

Might have been great food except for the poor service

By Wmiao |

Went to restaurant for a brunch on Saturday. Had reservations but the restaurant was not full when we arrived. Ordered meal and then waited. And waited. And waited. Service was awfully slow. Our meals finally arrived. Clearly the plates had been sitting under a heat lamp (to keep warm). For example, the runny eggs had coagulated and congealed. And the Panini was heated on the outside, but the inside was only lukewarm. Coffee was only lukewarm. I think the wait staff needs to be retrained or replaced!

An excellent meal!

My friend and I had an appointment in the area and it was Restaurant Week so she made a reservation at Tarallucci e Vino. It is a pleasant little place with a bar as you enter, tables outside and additional tables deeper within the restaurant. We were seated immediately and my friend ordered an iced tea and I got my usual tap water. We decided to go with the restaurant week menu-two out of three choices. I opted for the bruschetta dsl mercato and the pan seared salmon which came with fragile, white beans, leeks, tomatoes and parsley pesto. My friend ordered the yoga del tartufo-scrambled eggs with herb infused ham, provolone, black truffle aioli on the house brioche and home fries.she also ordered the crostata di limone-lemon custard in a pastry shell with Italian meringue and fresh strawberries. Our meal was delicious and we got espresso at the end. The waitress was attentive and accommodating. The restrooms were clean and well maintained. I would recommend and return.

Italian restaurant

By archil a |

New York is good that finding authentic food from any region will not be a problem, but here's a really nice place with really tasty food is rare. The Italian restaurant Tarlucci e vino near the Union Square is ideal for an evening with wine and risotto. However, cheese plates with specially selected sauces will not leave you indifferent either. And if you smile at the waiter, you can get a bag of freshly baked bread for breakfast. The interior of the establishment is rather laconic: brick walls and light wooden furniture. You can choose a table for two or sit at a common table.

Outstanding!

By NancyOO7 |

Was lucky enough to have a sidewalk front table to enjoy a beautiful summer day. Excellent service! We had the bruchetta 4 ways appetizer and a bottle of Rose for a nice light snack. Other menu items looked wonderful. Will be on our list to stop at again.

great food!

By Ivan Garofalo |

nice place with good vibes. friendly staff and great food! I highly recommend this authentic, let me say it again “authentic” Italian restaurant. Offers indoor and outdoor seating options. Went there with my friends and had a great time. A must-go in the City, you will not be disappointed!

ITALY IN NEW YORK

By Roberto C |

We stumbled upon this little place near Union Square by chance. Emanuele welcomed us and immediately made us feel at home. We ate very well! A great Italian restaurant that takes you home even from thousands of kilometers away. Real coffee! We will definitely return.

Good

By DocEV |

Very nice restaurant, limited number of dishes but very Good quality. Too much mustard sauce for my taste on a few dishes. Pricey

Consistently great coffee. Great pastries. Good pasta.

By Caroline M |

We come to Taralucci e Vino for breakfast once a week. Most often on 18th street but sometimes on the Upper West Side close to home. Consistently great coffee (I maintain, hard to find in NYC), great pastries. Great eggs. I used to come for lunch often when working in Union Square - pastas and sandwiches also always good. Great ambiance too.

Lovely restaurant and service

By UWSgirl |

My friend and I, who I haven't seen in forever (well, before the pandemic, were looking for a place by Union Square. She selected Tarallucci e Vino. I had been to the location on the UWS, near my home which has always had solid good Italian food in a quieting and inviting environment. The maitre' d, Emanuele, was really helpful with helping us select our cocktails (tasty!) as well as when I informed him that I would be going to Italy next week, he provided me with an insider's recommendation. I will definitely visit Argentario.

A bit of Italy in NYC

By hopeh505 |

On a recent trip to the city with my daughter and her friend, we stumbled on this little restaurant while looking for a place for dinner. We were instantly welcomed by our waiter Emanuele who treated us like we were guests in his home and not a small NYC restaurant. He was a pleasure the whole time and the food was exceptional. Everything we ate was fabulous. The variety of bread was perfect, the salad was fresh, the pasta was absolute perfection and the dessert was delicious. The best we have had this side of Italy. We ended up staying longer than planned because we were all enjoying ourselves so much. I can not recommend this restaurant enough and it will now be our go to place when in NYC

Excellent breakfast

By Marmel1980 |

Loved the look of this place - think refined timeless classic Italian eatery. It can be challenging finding appropriate and decent places to eat with our kids, however the staff here were very welcoming and accommodating as we enquired with them if they could seat us for breakfast. (Note: they are open for lunch and dinner too). The breakfast pastries here are baked in-house and are excellent. The coffee is very good (better than anywhere else we've tried in Manhattan) and the two poached egg dishes we had were awesome. Great ambience, helpful staff and excellent food and coffee. Glad we found it!

Beautiful night and wanted to eat outdoors

By Babooo13 |

Food and service were excellent. I am glutenfree and they fully explained which dishes were or could be made gluten free. Truly enjoyed my meal. Pasta with and without gluten was made at restaurant. Great taste

What a wonderful surprise and the service couldn't have been better!

By lulupearl |

We ate dinner here because we were attending a party in their private room later in the evening. The service was so incredibly accommodating and the food was just delicious. Drinks were among the best I've had in any restaurant, anywhere! The food was all fresh and beautifully served. The only reason I did not rate the restaurant as fully "excellent" is that the food upstairs at the party was simply awful! I don't know if it was the same chef or if they do something different for their private parties.

Amazing Italian

By Ryan Z |

I’ve been to Taralucci many times now and every experience as been positive. Ive had dinner, drag brunch, and Apertivo. It’s a lot of fun every time. I’ve had many items from the menu and everything has felt authentic and fresh. Emanuele makes us feel right at home every time, as he is very attentive and my wine glass is never empty! I highly recommend the orecchiette! And my friend swears it’s the best cacio e pepe he’s ever had. Their outdoor and indoor spaces are great, and all of the servers and bartenders are wonderful. If you’re looking for a good spot in the area, I’d definitely recommend!

Never let you down!!!

By Rossana D |

Tarallucci e Vino is an authentic Italian restaurant ! The food is delicious and the staff very professional competent and friendly. My favorite plate is the pinsa , it delicious ..crisply ,savory better then in Rome really !!! If I need for some recommendation Emanuele gives me always the perfect advise, especially for the wine !! The atmosphere is absolutely nice especially the patio and it is perfect for having a dinner or happy hours with a friends or a business dinner ! I strongly recommend it !!

Authentic Italian

By Marina M |

I've been to Tarallucci e Vino many times now and I've never been disappointed. It's a very authentic Italian restaurant - the food is excellent and the cappuccino is one of the best in NYC. I was recently there for dinner and had another great experience. Emanuele, our server, was very friendly and offered some delicious suggestions. I'll definitely be back to one of their locations in the future.

Okay food at a high price

By LarryDazzo |

Food was okay, not very flavorful. Decent variety, okay service. The atmosphere, food and overall experience did not warrant to the prices. Would not return.

Good food and good service

By TorontoMusicman |

We had an excellent meal at this restaurant. The appetizers., the main meals and the desserts were all outstanding and reasonably priced considering the quality. The service was very good. The restaurant is a bit loud which makes it harder to carry a conversation.

Cute place for breakfast

By Gail Goldman |

We were here on a foodie tour. So we stopped for breakfast and had fantastic bomboloni and I had a fabulous cappuccino. The other pastries looked great and there were egg and French toast choices. The service was excellent and the ambiance very nice. I gave this four stars because the menus for lunch and dinner I find to be too ambitious, especially if you have dietary limitations. There should be some more basic foods on the menu. It is also too pricey. So I would stick to breakfast, brunch or happy hour.

Good, reliable food and service

By hfall |

Good food and reliable service make this a decent choice in an area crowded with tourists and other larger or chain restaurants. They have a good collection of wines and the service is good as well. The only gripe is they have few vegetarian options and that food can be somewhat expensive.

Best Service and Authentic Italian

By Millpers123 |

Sat at the bar with Corrado. He helped us with the menu and wine selection. We went for brunch and everything was delish. The place is very cute and the prices are fair. Corrado ensured we had a great time and everything was perfect!

Incredible...

By Aaron |

I made a reservation for this restaurant and we received a warm welcome. We were seated immediately and greeted by our server Emanuele. He could not be more friendly and accommodating. The antipasti of the Polipo, Fritto Misto, and Burrata where phenomenal and cooked to perfection. I highly recommend them. The orecchiette is my go to and this was by far the best orecchiette I have ever had. The Negroni Nuovo was deliciously traditional and the wines were decadent. Our experience would not have been complete without Emanuele's attentiveness and candor. He knowledge and recommendations enhanced our experience. If you are looking for an authentic Italian experience in a city with so many options, you will have a fantastic time at Tarallucci e Vino - Union Square!

We felt it was an average restaurant at an above average place

By GillPerry |

The reviews looked good so we thought let's give it a go. The prices were a little above average. The bread at the table was a little dry. The steak wasn't the best I have tried. We didn't bother with the wine. The wine we liked was $72 so we had a beer instead. There was no beer on tap and not a big choice of beers. My steak was a bit tough and my husband had the fish which was average and the beans that came with it were a little tough. The staff were very friendly and the ice cream was really good. Not sure whether this was an off day. We would have liked more choice. Wouldn't go back there are far better restaurants around. We spent $120 and didn't have a starter or wine. Could work out a little expensive.

Delicious Dinner

By EatShopTravelEnjoy |

Everything from the pasta to the crostini and salads were wonderful. If this place were located further downtown you wouldn't be able to get a seat.

Nice NYC Italian

By tracyesq |

We walked in off the street, starving and cranky but we left satiated and full. Portions were appropriately sized i.e. midway between Cheesecake Factory and a sole lettuce leaf on a plate. The staff was helpful but not intrusive.

Delicious Italian dinner, quiet on a Monday night

By FlyDog33 |

Delicious food here especially the pastas which are all made in-house. Wine selection is very good as expected from the restaurant name. Service was very good too. We asked our waiter to help our large group select the salumi and cheeses for our shared appetizer, and once we told him what we didn’t like, he came back with a great, delicious selection that we all enjoyed. The restaurant was quiet and we had a cozy booth in the back.

Second time was even better than the 1st

By bw411 |

We dined hear during Christmas week with a group of 8. It was a Friday evening and they were amazingly accomodating. The place was crowded, but not full that night. They have a great bread service where they bring you out a seclectopn of fresh breads throughout the meal. The have an excellent list of salami and cheeses for appetizers or desserts. The wine list is very good with some reasonably priced options. When you order by the glass your pour will be exactly 4 onces. The portion sizes are not very large, especially the pastas, but all of the food is excellent. For dessert they have fresh sorbets and gelattos. A number of us had a dish called "Duo Creme" which was amazing. Not sure why this place was not packed, but everything was exceptional from start to finish.

Nice little lunch joint!

By marcopieroa |

We were surprised by this little bar. We went to the one up on Columbus...couldn't find the review here. Anyhow it's exactly the same as this one. Same owners. Same menu. Panini are really good and service is great. Drop by!!!

main courses need some work

By KyleWV |

Have been to Tarallucci e Vino - The restaurant 3 times so far, I found the dishes were not consistant, especially the main courses. This time we had the Burrata e Zucca which is Burrata cheese with proschiutto and tiny cubes of butter nut squash, that was very good. I wanted to have the Duck Breast but the server forgot to tell me that they were out of it. It should been said before I ordered. Then I had the lamb loin was just ok. I ordered it as cooked medium, it's more nearly well-done and yet the meat was not hot, a bit below warm actually. A disappointment.

Lovely Place

By Joan G |

Went to the location a 15 E 18th Street during restaurant week. The selections were varied, particularly liked the salad and chocolate dessert. The wait staff is first rate.

YUM & FUN

By GEORGINANYC19 |

This restaurant is absolutely terrific. I can't praise it enough. We've sat outside and inside. The wine list is excellent. The food is varied and delicious. The appetizers coupled with wine are a meal in itself. The wait staff is so friendly and helpful. I'll will always go to this restaurant when I'm in the neighborhood.

Good Cappuccino and Chicken Pesto Panini

By Duncan P |

Dropped by for a coffee / meeting with a colleague and also had a panini. Both coffee and panini were very good (getting a decent coffee that isn't over-roasted is hard). Would come back.

Daughter's engagement dinner

By teddyk |

We live in California, daughter and future son in law in Manhattan so planning was coast to coast. My wife planned weddings all over the world and knows what she wants. Preparations began several months ago and the hope was the food and execution would be as good as the planning. Basia was nothing short of amazing in responding, contributing ideas, and being a great source of assurance that our event was going to be successful. The collaboration was refreshing and appreciated. We were able to arrive early with photos and posters of the love couple brought from Cal to hang and tell their story. During the set up we had the privilege to meet the wait staff who would be with us throughout the evening. Matt, Marie, Sonia, Chef Andrew and the omnipresent Basia were a delight assisting with the set up as well as their prep. Every event detail was attended to with wonderful spirit and the evening was perfect from cocktail hour through 4 amazing dinner courses. I am still on a high from how well the evening went and how much our daughter, families, and guests enjoyed the evening. The evening was a triumph and one we will never forget because of the care and professionalism of Basia, Matt, Marie, Sonia, and Andrew. Thank you, Connie and Tom

Love this place

By 973B |

I met two business acqaintances for breakfast and was so pleasantly surprised. (it opens at 8 and about six people were waiting outside which should have been a clue). The atmosphere was very pleasant, no loud kitchy music, just the right amount of table buzz. The dining room is very simple but pleasing to look at (hats off to the designer). I had the smoked salmon sandwich and gave some to my friend as there were two sizable sandwiches on grain bread for $10, a real bargain. I will go back for lunch e vino!!

A surprise to find them open for breakfast!

By Louise B |

Easy simple place to have a quick breakfast but what is surprise! The most delicious coffee lovely pastries delightful. I also met some really interesting people also enjoying their early morning breakfast I will be going back to have a full lunch and or dinner because it just looked terrific simple menu very well done highly recommended

Decent food, great location

By Jalan2014 |

I love this place and the food - menu is good and the food itself well prepared. My only concern would be that it has become pricey for what it is - It's still a bistro/cafe which has more upscale prices on many items. Nonetheless, lovely!

Shockingly not very good...

By WayneWesternMA |

Highly recommended by an Italian lady, and specifically what we ordered... First the mineral water was from the tap, with no Pellegrino or other bottled water available. Should have walked out at that point. Beet salad had virtually no beets in it. When asked for a little more beets it was a severe imposition and "Well, that's what you ordered so that's what you get" The sausage dish also had no sausage, only poorly spiced pasta, that was at least al dente. Won't beat a dead horse here but horse would have been better. Spent the night with severe indigestion. Yes, very indignant and unhappy. Gawd, it was awhhfull....

Cute

By Cara C |

Really cute little restaurant cafe. Love the coffee bar area. Had a coffee meeting here. Great coffee. Excellent service despite the fact we hogged a table for just coffee. I imagine this is a great place for a date due to the intimate atmosphere. Also small enough to not be overwhelming.

Avoid this tourist trap

By Walter M |

The worse experience ever, the food came out very slow, when we finally go it the server forgot the appetizer. We order the (Dorada for two) that was not even enough for one, the server also forgot the sides, when we placed the order we were told that the Dorada was coming with two sides. Finally after waiting for 5 more minutes we got the appetizer and the two sides. When the runner came with the appetizer and the sides we expressed our frustration about the whole experience, and how the server was blaming the kitchen for all the mistakes, the runner told us that it wasn't the kitchen. Minutes after the server came over in a confrontational manner, telling us that we never order the appetizer nor the sides. Unfortunately we were not ready for the final surprise, when we got the bill we were giving the wrong bottle of wine, the one we order was 48 dollars and the one given was 150 dollars, plus we were charged for the two sides that we were told it was included with the meal. We ask for the manager but he was gone, everybody else acted as they didn't care about anything. My friend, which she was the one inviting us, she has been living in NY for 15 years and visited this restaurant many times before, she felt so embarrassed that she decided to pay the 277 dollars bill for the worse experience of our lives, and leave the restaurant. It is a shame that business like this exist, ripping off customers the way we were. #Tarallucci #dinner #restaurant #ripoff #NYC @Tarallucci @tripadvisor

My amazing wedding!

By Iuliia C |

My wedding was march 25th. Thank everyone to make my wedding the best day ever! Amazing food, staff, planning people! Very professional... excellent. We found our family restaurant forever with a lot of great memories. Thank you, Basia! Guy and Iuly.

Please ignore me, I can handle it

By magnus lindbergh |

Use to love this place and even more the location in East Village but what happened??? I was out walking around UnionSquare and decided to go for a impromptu lunch on my own - Big mistake to assume that this establishment still is a great place, having to wait 10 minutes, waiving arms to get some attention is really not my thing. When the arm-waiving doesn't do the trick and being completely ignored in an empty dining room it is time to leave. Walking outside to the small cute outdoor seatings it seems to be where the staff was, not attending guests but chatting among themselves. Rare that I write something so negative but you know, work is work, socializing and constant being on phones should be dealt with on your private time, attend to your customers instead... Hopefully you shape up to next time as the concept and food always used to be great!

Good food but service is uninspired

By Lisa S |

I've only been to the one on 18th street and each time I enjoyed my experience. Overall the food is great and the wine selection superb, but I can see what people say about the service. It's not horrible but it could be improved. I would probably give it a 5 if it had just a few more items on the menu and if the service was better. My husband had the beef tenderloin and I had scallops and both were delicious. The beef had a nice portion size but I think they could've afforded 1 extra scallop based on the price. I also received a great wine recommendation and I appreciated that.

lovely small terrace on 18th street

By Jan G |

We had a great salad here for lunch on a small terrace right on 18th street in the Garment district. Its right in front of the Engine 14 fire station and great for a small lunch. Not many place there where you can enjoy the sun so this is a good choose with lovely food

Easy Italian

By AJAX6965 |

A new Italian in Nomad. Usually crammed at the bar in the evenings. Modern, sleek with a varied menu. For lunch my wife had the Branzino and I a Caprese Panini - Both very good. The Sauvignon Blanc by the glass was tasty. The bill was about $65 before tip. A good value and mercifully quiet, at lunch anyway.

Cold spaghetti with clams was not so special

By Derkster |

Well, I don't usually write negative reviews....it pains me to do it. But, I had a unsatisfying meal here. My son, wife and I had dinner here last Friday. She booked thru Open Table. We were staying within walking distance away. We arrived around 6:15. The restaurant was not full and we were seated immediately. So far so good. We were offered "tap" or sparkling water and my wife ordered a glass of wine. I ordered an octopus appetizer and waited. I watched as other tables were seated and offered bread as they arrived. We were breadless. I waited until the octopus arrived and asked of we could have some bread. I felt like I asked for pudding before I ate my meat. The octopus was good but the portion was not commensurate with the price. My wife thought it was very good tasting so I shrugged it off. We ordered the main course. The waiter asked if we wanted to hear the specials. There was a spaghetti with clams and I asked if that was better than a particular pasta dish on the menu. He said "you'll have to come back again to decide for yourself". Okay, whatever, not too helpful. I told the waiter I would like to share the spaghetti with clams with my son. I asked if he would ask the kitchen to split it. He said he would bring plates for us to split at the table. Hmmm...not what I asked. My wife ordered a pasta. When the meals arrived I was underwhelmed. NO wonder they don't split in the kitchen. The portion was tiny. I split with my son. I noticed the clam shells were empty. They were included only for decoration. There were like 6 clams.....It was laughable. The worst part, it was COLD. Come on man. I ended up giving my portion to my son. He is 15 and now eats a lot! So he didn't care if it was cold or not. My wife gave he a bite of her meal and it was good and hot. So, we finished up. The waiter came up after 20 minutes to ask how everything was. I gave an honest opinion. He said I should have told him before I ate it. Oh well....another useless response. Over all, I hated it. I would never come back and can't recommend it. It was like the $6.50 softy ice cream we bought from a truck at Columbus Circle...not what I call a bargain and never again.

Yummy!

By yellowrider221 |

After a long day playing tourist, we had an excellent dinner at Tarallucci e Vino. Casual atmosphere, perfect for relaxing after a long day of walking. Nice wine and bar list, great food and efficient service, what more could you ask for? The pasta was excellent, and we all shared and loved every bite. Desserts to follow... Yum! Enjoy...

Great place for wine and wonderful starters. Warm and friendly service

By Joana C |

Uber friendly service and a wealth of wines and starters to choose from - maybe the difficult part but they can help. Pasta was great and though did not try the wine hope to be back to be able to do it.

Expecting a little more

By Golden16118 |

this is a neighborhood spot that I haven't tried. I did last week and was a little disappointed. When inquiring with the waitress what pasta was made in house fresh, she said all of them. That turned out not to be true and it would have changed my meal selection if I picked the house-made pasta. (I will say she was relatively new but that is important to know especially since the menu clearly said the papardelle was homemade. The atmosphere was wonderful and I will try again.

Good food. Pricey for lunch

By RT1110 |

Service was fantastic. The pastas are amazing. Say in the patio on a nice day. Just too expensive to go by for lunch otherwise would visit more often.

6th Floor Loft Wedding

By Michelle P |

Tarallucci e Vino is an absolutely perfect place to have your wedding!! Basia, the wedding coordinator is extremely professional, helpful and an overall wonderful person. It was very easy and enjoyable to work with her. The decoration of the loft was beautiful!!! The food was amazing. The gigli pasta with bassil pesto parmigiano was excellent. All our guests raved about the food. The service was also impeccable. The wait staff as well as the bartenders were courteous and accommodating. I highly recommend Tarallucci for an elegant intimate wedding!

A lovely and authentic find

By apkam |

Eataly was so crowded I couldn't think, let alone eat. On our disappointed walk back to the hotel we walked by this place and were delighted to find a beautiful, intimate, quiet restaurant. It was elegant but comfortable, and the service was great. The food, though, was superb. The eggplant and anchovy antipasti and spicy sausage pasta were the stuff of dreams! Highly recommended. So fun to just happen on such a special place.

Neighborhood gem

By Craig W |

Fabulous neighborhood feel to this busy Flatiron Italian restaurant. Everything is done well and with unobtrusive style. From the coffee to the wine to the excellent snack and main course menu. I went twice in a long weekend because you rarely find a local spot in NYC this good.

Amazing Italian near Union Square

By Andrew K |

I tried this restaurant for a weekday lunch near Union Square, mostly because they offer gluten-free items, and my wife and I were both surprised at how good it was. A glass of Pinot Nero Kossler 2022 ($16) was fine; we each ordered the Polipo ($28 each): CHARRED OCTOPUS, FENNEL, ROASTED POTATOES, ARUGULA, CELERY, CASTELVETRANO OLIVES, LEMON (no need to order salad as a starter) -- the octopus was excellent! We shared CAVOLETTI DI BRUXELLES ($12): ROASTED BRUSSELS SPROUTS, CHILI, COLATURA -- great! We'll definitely be back.

A Delicious Little Piece of Italy

By Ty K |

While staying on the Upper West Side for business, I happened upon this charming cafe. Sitting at the bar, I grazed on Uova e Polenta which was even more delicious than I could have imagined. The decor qas contemporary and comfortable. This is a wonderful and delicious little slice of Italy.

Great little place

Visited with my girlfriend for an aperitif. Great wine and interesting craft beers, will definitely come back at my next visit in NYC...

Delish Italian

By Dave A |

We got a tip from the front desk at our hotel that this place had really good pasta. My partner and I have been missing Cacio E Pepe since Rome two years ago. This place had the best we have found since Rome. This place is the real deal, fresh every day pasta. Our server was great as well, very friendly.

Unhurried excellent evening

By Jon C |

There are so many dining choices in Manhattan so only by having a local contact does one end up in this lovely spot. Two scallop eaters and a vegetarian found bliss amongst the many offered entrees. The wine list was extensive and all pleased with picks. We tarried long enjoys the evening and never rushed to vacate our table...so uncommon today...even though it was Friday night.

Vino e formaggio

By autrice |

A delicious mid-afternoon stop for us. Lovely white wine and good cheeses at a sunny table. We protested the sparse amount of grilled bread and the server immediately went to get more. A terrific place for gathering a second wind.

Surprise party success!

By Yael F |

Our event at Taralucci e Vino far exceeded our expectations! The staff were so helpful, friendly and professional- most notably, the director of events Basia. She coordinated all aspects of the event so beautifully and I knew I didn't have to worry about a thing. The space in Union Square is amazing- fits a dance floor along with seated guests really well. And the food was delicious! Would 100% have another event at Taralucci e Vino!

Always Satisfied

By Miguel A |

I cannot recall the amount of times I've dined at Tarallucci e Vino with friends over the last several years, but it never disappoints. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming and the food is delicious. I typically dine at Tarallucci for brunch and am a huge fan of their ciabatta sandwiches and salads. Personal favorites include the mozzarella, olive spread, and tomato and their cucumber sandwich. Always delicious and these sandwiches are also available on multigrain bread. Their quiches won't disappoint either. Their coffee is excellent and I believe they make one of the best cappuccino's in NYC. I have it every single time I eat there, brunch, lunch, or dinner. It reminds me of Tuscany. It is that good. Their dinner prices are more expensive, but brunch is reasonable with excellent quality. I always look forward to my next dining visit.

Very Nice Place

By johnnyrolex |

My wife and I had lunch here and it was good. The waitress was very friendly and quick, and the food was excellent. We sat outside, as the weather was mild. We had their cheese platter for an appetizer and it was great. (Formaggi -- selection of 3 cheeses). I had Cotto (rosemary ham, provolone, truffle mayonnaise) and my wife had the ravioli...both I would recommend!

Some obvious flaws, some good things

By frame82 |

If you are looking for authentic Italian fare in NYC, this is not a terrible place to visit, but it won't leave you that happy either. On a recent evening, a group of friends was very kindly welcomed without a reservation by the very friendly staff - indeed, service is really good. The menu is enticing and contains some interesting classics (the eponymous tarallucci are tasty, and the wine selection good). However, the fried rice balls were very bland, and accompanied by a tomato sauce which had a slightly metallic taste. The pasta mains were tasty, but the cheese course was a bit disappointing in size: it must have been less than 2 ounces of cheese in total (which by US standards is a micro-portion). Overall it would be an "average" review, were it not for a fatal flaw: toilets were not in a good state, and a small roach was spotted in their vicinity.

Best restaurant in Nyc

Tarallucci e Vino is the best restaurant in NYC. The food is amazing and authentic Italian. Highly recommended for family, friends & couple! I will never be disappointed. Can’t wait to go back! Cheers

Outstanding

By Robert S |

Happened into the bar / restaurant while strolling through the area. It is of very high standard and I enjoyed two visits immensely. Staff are very attractive, friendly and welcoming and the quality of their drinks and food is superb. Great to speak to many of the staff who speak Italian expecially the very handsome owner.

One of the best things about living in NYC is happening upon wonderful places when you least expect them. My friends and I visited Tarallucci e Vino after leaving a quite crowded, warm and less than enjoyable visit to a restaurant next door. Tarallucci was just what we were looking for. The atmosphere was cool (temperature and vibe) and relaxed. From the time we entered until the time we left a few hours later, our service was great, Our waiter, Paul, was attentive but not overbearing and made great suggestions from the wine list as well as from the menu. My friends ordered the rabbit dish and a salad and I ordered the oysters. We were all very happy. I loved that we could linger and talk without feeling like we were being rushed. I will definitely be back with more friends in tow to enjoy this lovely spot.

We had a wonderful dinner and great private event!

By photoMama2 |

We had a great dinner with family here-- waiters were super patient with one member of our party who was very challenging. The food was delicious-- appropriate sized portions, fresh salads, great pasta, silky burrata. Our private event was amazing. We worked together to choose the right space and a menu that fit tastes and our budget. Basia was a great person to talk with, and she connected us with people to help with flowers, entertainment and of course tablecloths and little things like that—but those little things make all the difference. The night of the event everyone on staff was friendly and real—we were happy to have a celebration with such great supportive people. The food was delicious, paced well, and we had a great time.

Excellent authentic Italian near Union Square

By MK_dogdad |

My wife and I had an exceptionally good dinner with friends at the 5 Tarallucci restaurant near Union Square. All of the pastas are made fresh daily on site and all of the other ingredients were held to the same high standards. We sampled many dishes and all were excellent. I highly recommend the cheese and salumi / prosciutto plates (all of the cheeses imported from Italy), the grilled octopus, and creamy Burrata appetizers. Even better were the pappardelle, fresh spaghetti, agnolotti and chicken entrees. The desserts were also exceptional. The chocolate torte, tiramisu and cheesecake were all standouts. They also have an outstanding wine list. I'm eager to try their other 4 locations! Yum!

ITALY IN NEW YORK. WHAT A GREAT THING!

By balda_03 |

We were walking and we approached, intrigued by the name, Emanuele immediately appeared and made us feel at ease from the first moment. When you cross the threshold you feel this atmosphere that makes you feel like you're in the right place. The food... if you close your eyes it's like feeling at home 🇮🇹. Ah well, not to mention the real espresso I drank! We will definitely be back!

My family came to visit for a weekend and what an amazing experience we had here!! The food was so so delicious and Emanuele was such an amazing server! Thank you!! We all loved it 😊

Tasty breakfast but below-par service

By Jo T |

We arrived at 1030 hrs on a Tuesday and the breakfast service was finishing but they said we could have breakfast. Not a huge amount of choice but slightly more interesting that your average American breakfast with the addition of salad to most savoury dishes. . Service less friendly than your average. I asked for skimmed milk and then said they had it it then gave me semi so coffee wasted. Forgot one side order and by the time it came (after we reminded them) we had finished our meals.

Noisy

By Ritz1165 |

I liked the food very much and the delicious wines. Atmosphere fine if not modern/Stark which makes for not sound baffling. It is noisy here. Sat at the bar which Was entertaining. Pasta pomodoro was very good.

Nice location, great service and decent food

By Mahjarunner |

We stopped in here on our way to Union Square- we were drawn in by the sidewalk tables with umbrellas and Italian menu that had some basics (spaghetti with tomato basil) and more interesting dishes like a salad with quail eggs (one of us was brave enough to go for it, and it was apparently good). I personally thought this place was fairly overpriced ($60 for lunch) but the service was standout (our server was proudly from Kansas) and they also had really great bread.

Correct Italian

By Jorgioo |

Very good meal but mixed reception. Misunderstanding about a gluten-free dessert, the manager did not want to come and talk to us.

Lovely

Lovely for wine and a light snack for happy hour. Got really busy around 5 with locals so we knew we chose a great place!

A great night out

By Penboy7 |

To celebrate an anniversary and a birthday — during restaurant week in NYC — we looked for a new place convenient to us and our good friends we were marking the occasions with. Tarallucci e Vino fit the bill and had great reviews, I booked a reservation on OpenTable. We decided against the restaurant week menu and order a variety of dishes à la carte. The radicchio salad and meatballs were standouts… until the flourless chocolate cake which stole the show. Our server, Matteo, was on top of everything and paced the meal so that we could enjoy it without feeling rushed. We had a great time and are already considering our next visit.

Unexpected comfort food and place

By rnarisetti |

Ended up there for coffee and several meetings and found it very friendly, efficient, with a range of menu items and good coffee. Well worth the sidetrip off Union Square for a leisurely chat or meal.

Nice Ambience, with high prices I expected a refill on regular coffee.

By drjlever |

I met a friend for breakfast. Very nice environment; wasn't crowded so good for talking with a friend. I didn't mind paying $16 for an egg with some croissant, or $5 for a pot of tea, but I was surprised when I was charged $7, $3.50 twice for a cup of regular American coffee. At a minimum the food server should have noted when I asked for more coffee that they had a no refill policy. Wouldn't return, given this stingy policy

Nice stop

By Dan B |

I went there only to drink a coffee with my wife and a friend, and I stayed at the counter. Espresso was good, and also the tea. I saw people eating cannelloni and it was really appealing, Next time I'll try to eat there ... The bartender was nice and friendly

Not impressed with food

By njmmmom |

Went for dinner with some family members from out of town. From other's reviews, expected some amazing food , but was disappointed. Chose the shrimp ravioli assuming pasta should be strong point. Presentation was nice, but portion on the smaller side, especially for the price! Pasta was too al dente and minjmal amount of filling - doubt it was even equivalent to a single shrimp in each. Sauce was flavorful but the quantity of artichoke was very small. Had a taste of the chicken which had a nice flavor but nothing special. Overall, the food was OK, but overpriced for the portion sizes.

Cappuccino like in Italy

By Stefano C |

If you like good Italian coffee this is the place in the West Side. Cappuccino as it should be and breakfast cakes very nice and fresh. The staff is very friendly. The area is very nice with many interesting restaurants, bars and shops

Unforgettable night

By maka k |

We will never forget this exceptional night at Tarallucci E Vino, Union Square. Pasta was so delicious and the deserts fantastic, we really had the true Italian experience . Atmosphere was very calming and welcoming.Prices are reasonable. The highlight of the night was our waiter Emanuele, he made our night very special and welcomed us like a family members. He is the amazing person and professional. We recommend this restaurant 100%, we will be back for sure. Grazie Emanuele From Inga, Katerina, Maka and Lali with Love💗

bridal shower

By deedee1951 |

There restaurant has a party space next door which was fantastic for 40 people and can handle more. Tehre is a bar area, sitting area with couches and then tables. front of room has high windows to the street. Room has its own bathroom. We did a bridal shower with passed canapés and the a buffet with salad, paninis, fruit salad, and mini desserts. Everything was delicious and , beautifully presented. The wait staff was friendly and attentive. Mamosas and Bellinis were served with a smile. The coordinator ,Basia , was very helpful, accommodating to our needs and did an all around great job. We decorated with simple vases of dried flowers and candles in mason jars. Perfect!!! Would highly recommend for any gathering up to 60 -70 people or so.

A pleasent evening

By conorbuggy |

Came here with work colleagues, we enjoyed some nice italian food, all good, not amazing, just very nice. The wine was quite good, they had a long wine list, however I thought the wines were overpriced in comparison to other restaurants. Service was attentive.

Good for a quick breakfast

By sgtmother |

Regulars abound at this place and with reason since the coffee is great and the pastry selection is really good, too. A bit crowded in the front if you eat there, but the tables in the back provide sufficient room. Lots of people just get their coffee to go. It's right on the way to Union Square station, across the street from Soul Cycle spin studio, etc.

Excellent restaurant in the Union Square neighborhood

By ndc1954usa |

Great service, great food, great wine. Who could ask for more? I recommend the Polipo and the agnolotti.

in the flatiron district, one of the best places to eat

By gus0101 |

beautiful atmosphere, nice large wood tables, great food, what else? yes, good wine,,,

Great place for desserts and drinks

By Darmouth07 |

We ended up here after dinner, around 9 or 10ish, and enjoyed a dessert, wine, tea. We didn't order much, and although the waiter gently prodded us to have some more, he wasn't pushy and let us sit there and enjoy our conversation despite the little that we ordered (we already had a filling dinner prior). Nice place, and I'd go back for dessert/wine/tea and possibly even dinner next time (the pasta is supposed to be good).

WONDERFUL

By Edgar R |

First, let me clarify, I went here a few years ago for dinner and it was amazing. I went today for my Sunday Brunch with a good friend. This was our first time here for Brunch. Let me say, I can't say/pick who gave the better service...was it Matt, the Maitre'd or was it our waitress Marina !!! They basically BOTH did the same job !!! We did NOT has a reservation(which you do NEED one) and Matt was very accommodating in getting us seated promptly (without a reservation). They do have a fabulous $29 all you can drink Brunch (1 HOUR limit). We had an appetizer, meal and dessert with coffee too !!!! I had the Veggie Quiche with a salad and the BEST almond Croissant in NYC for dessert with a coffee. It's hard to pick what was better, their service or the food.......Both EQUALLY as good !!!! Yes, I will go back soon in the near future.....PLEASE run to T~e~V as soon as you can .

Great food, atmosphere, and people!

By Edward C |

I dined here twice during my recent visit to NYC. The food was great and the atmosphere was friendly and fun. Outdoor seating is very comfortable and pretty and the bar is a great place to meet people. The manager, Emanuele, is super friendly, greets everyone, and works hard to take care of every guest!

One if The best Restaurant in the City

By Alessio C |

As an Italian living in NYC I find it really challenging to find legit Italian Restaurant in Manhattan. Tarallucci&Vino in Union Square is the place that makes me feel closest to home everytime I go. The restaurant layout is really cute and is big enough to be having dinner normally with your friends without smelling the plate of the table next to you or listening to their business ( nyc restaurant can be really small and feel uncomfortably tight). The service is excellent between waiters, bassboy and bartenders and the cocktails are delicious! The manager Emanuele , the sweetest Italian man ever, will make sure you have an amazing and forgettable experience serving you with the biggest smile at all times and making sure you’re well informed on every dish or bottle of wine you will decide to get on the menu. Definitely recommend!! Go try this fantastic place!!

An Incredible Family Celebration

By Susan B |

We hosted a family celebration for 19 in the mezzanine at Tarallucci e Vino in early June and it was incredible. We worked closely with Amanda Foote to plan the menu and room decor and she couldn't have been more helpful. Amanda even brought out the baker so we could discuss the special desserts. Amanda and her team bent over backwards to make the evening special...she accommodated our few dietary requirements and the meal was delicious---from passed hors d'oeuvres, to the salads, pasta and mains to the amazing desserts. Amanda had our leftovers packaged and sent home with a few guests. Thank you Tarallucci e Vino for making our celebration so wonderful.

Overall, okay but disappointed by cheese plate (and a couple of other things)

By AnfiskaC |

My friends and I were very excited that we got a dinner table without a prior reservation on Saturday evening. We were also very happy with the wine selection. However, some of us were a little less excited after spotting a cockroach on the wall right next to the table. All five of us decided to opt for a set menu of three courses for $38. After seeing my husbands reaction when he tried their arancini (fried rice balls - specialty of Sicily where he comes from), I was very happy that I had ordered soup with pancakes for myself. The arancini were two tiny balls that looked very dry and were served with red sauce that did not look that appealing. My soup was very plain yet tasty. The second course was a little more exciting for all of us - I had pasta with white sauce - was definitely good. However, the cheese plate served as dessert was really disappointing - imagine three thinnest slices of cheese size of a micro-SD card!!! Even if they were the most expensive of their sort and kind, the value could not have been more than a couple of dollars. The staff members were extremely friendly and welcoming!! Overall, their pasta dishes were good and from my experience they are better than many Italian places in NYC, but it still was not a satisfying experience. I would also like to note that although it is not a fine-dining place, $65 per person (we had two bottles of Etna Rosso for 5 of us) excluding tips is not a cheap place either.

Yum!!!

By Geekontherun |

Walked in off the street. The bruschetta was a different twist but very good! The gnocchi was unbelievable! Pesto gnocchi was light little fluffy bites that melted in my mouth! I felt like snoopy on top of my dog house floating!!! Service was fantastic! Very good wine selection with great wines on special!

Really Good food

By Up69 |

Ended up here on Veterans day as most restaurants where clsoed duirng the day in the 18Th st area. It was pricey, but thats okay, imporant client! I had the Roasted tomatoe soup and grilled calamari. My food was too die for, cleint had a salad and a raviloi dish. She said hers was very good as well. the place was packed but we could still converse. This is my new favorite restaurant in NYC.

Pricey, casual, but acceptable

By Bill G |

Perhaps I got a good perch (at a window overlooking 18th Street), so my experience was quite good. Service was very good too. But, overall, I found this spot cold and rather pretentious. Perhaps, also, if one were to get a table and a pair of chairs outside this could be a more in-town experience. Inside I felt I was in a high end spa with a bar - not my idea of a warm experience!

Great little place to relax

By WineMeister |

The staff is very friendly, good place to read the paper and enjoy a ham and cheese croissant. My friend enjoyed the salmon pannini, and the atmosphere is very relaxed and cozy. They have outdoor seating as well and I really just enjoyed my visit!

Delicious!

By Gigi |

A little corner of home away from home. Warm and welcoming atmosphere, typical Italian dishes, but with a touch of class. We tasted the pizza, delicious, the dish of the day and various appetizers... All delicious, Carbonara top, but I dreamed with their gnocchi with pesto! And don't forget dessert! I tried tiramisu and it was superb, but they have many more inviting than the other! Before leaving the table they brought us a real magic drink... I don't remember the name but I think it was like Anisette. They presented it to us as “Grandma’s favorite” served with 3 coffee beans! Try it!

Very cool place ...

By mercurio-online |

... with a very professional Italian wine list and attention to the quality of the ingredients. We went there after a trade show with some Italian food and wine producers and all of us loved the location, the food and the atmosphere. Very easy to reach ... one block from Union Sq. If you are looking for tasting real and modern Italian food, Italian boutique wineries and enjoy the meal in a very pleasant atmosphere ... this is the place.

Great business dinner

By Peter C |

Great casual business dinner with a colleague. Ashley was our waitress and was very attentive and helpful. Menu was great with tasty wholesome Italian classic dishes. Price was reasonable and would definitely visit again.

Delizioso e perfetto!!

By Pedro J M |

Had been on our list to try for dinner and what better way to go but seeing it on the Restaurant Week list. Emanuelo was great. Made us feel extremely welcome and he was super personable. Ambiance was great. As for the wine ordered, it was the first time I’ve been suggested a wine, desired a Chianti but chose a Montepulciano, with an actual reason behind it rather than it’s just “a good pairing”. And it was molto bene! Starter bread was great. Me and wife ordered Carpaccio & Eggplant. Carbonara & Torteloni. And the desert delizioso!! And for the price, can’t beat it. Looking forward to visiting again to choose from the full menu. Grazie Emanuelo!!

A good choice for Italian around Union Square

By mikethegoodlife |

Good service, nice wine list, unique menu choices and delicious food at reasonable (for NYC) prices, what else could you ask for. Relatively quiet place where you could actually carry on a conversation.

Good dinner spot

By Annb98 |

Lovely service, delicious wine and good variety. The pasta dishes were flavorful. Waitress was very helpful. It is pricey, however we had wine and appetizers. $400 for 4 adults.

Tarallucci e Vino is SPECTACULAR in every way!

By Emily Z |

We held our rehearsal dinner at Tarallucci E Vino. Specifically, we had about 50 people for a sit-down family-style dinner (plus cocktail hour) in Tarallucci's 6th Floor Loft. The space is exquisite. It's intimate, and has great architectural detail. I felt as though I had welcomed my friends and family into my very chic pied-a-terre (with better food, service, lighting, etc.)! I could not have asked for more in terms of the aesthetic of the space. The food is magnificent. The menu is perfect. It's hard to choose -- that's the only issue, really! The food is so beautifully presented. It's so fresh and it's so clear the great deal of care that goes into the selection of products, recipes, and presentation. Basia is amazing. She's so organized, so thoughtful, and so professional. She has a great eye, and was so helpful in terms of picking out linens, chairs, china, etc. We're a high maintenance group, and Basia single-handedly managed me, my now husband, and my mother! We had lots of questions, and lots of ideas, and Basia provided such brilliant and helpful guidance. We feel very fortunate to have worked with her! The service is perfection. Everyone at Tarallucci is unbelievably professional, kind and thoughtful! You could not ask for more! We had a tasting at the restaurant, which also has fabulous ambiance and, obviously, spectacular food! We cannot recommend Tarralucci enough for both dinner any night of the week or one of the biggest and most important meals/events of your life!

Italian comfort food in the big apple

By Ntrekker |

We had a nice dinner here with another couple from out of town. If you get a table at the back of the restaurant the noise level is acceptable and we enjoyed a nice chat during the meal. The chefs selection appetizer was a satisfying meat and cheese platter. I enjoyed the pappardelle. Good place to have a meal but come early. We were warned of a noisy bar scene as the night progresses.

Awesome dating nook

By rgcasti85 |

Relaxed environment, quiet, good selection of vine, food, and coffee. Great place for a first date and other occasions.

Wonderful dining experience

By Zack F |

I hosted a corporate dinner and it was absolutely perfect. Everyone agreed the food was all delicious, the waitstaff was responsive and very pleasant and the party room was a great place for a gathering. Basia stayed very close by phone and email and took time to confirm all details as the date neared and a winter storm approached. I would host another event or just have a dinner here anytime.

Amazing!!

By Daniella P |

Went here for dinner during the week and it was amazing! The food was great and Emanuele, our server, was very helpful and friendly. Definitely recommend!

Great wine list

By Nydgnyc |

Shared a bottle of wine with another couple after leaving Rosa Mexicana for dinner. Service was attentitive (waiter had no sense of humor) but he knew his wines. A cheese platter was nicely selected. We sat in the back and the air conditioning was not reaching us but still a great time and will recomend this place to anyone looking for a nice dinner to a casual meal.

Fantastic!!

By maqr0ll |

Food amazing and the service great...especially the Manager...Sonia.....!!! I had Spaghetti al nero di seppia.....amazing!! Then i had the duck.....really good!! Really thanks!!! :)

A Cozy Meal on a Snowy Day

By Alison P |

I recently went to Tarallucci and it was perfect for an afternoon snack or meal. My husband and I each had smaller items-- delicious biscotti, herbal tea, and the yogurt and granola. The goats milk yogurt was awesome. Our friends had paninis which were also delicious. The service was great and the menu had so many tasty looking options. On a snowy day this was the perfect cozy environment for our group of friends. Somewhere we will definitely return to!

Nice pasta.

Tasty and unusual breakfast + great coffee!

By Christopher B |

This is a lovely space just north of Union Square. I had the eggs tartufo - scrambled with ham and served burger-style in a fresh brioche. Very tasty! I also had a delicious flat white.

music too loud

By kathy p |

we had excellent food and the service was good. the music was TOO loud. we were in the back, which was fortunate as the ceiling was lower there then in the front of the resturant allowing me to at least hear the person sitted next to me.

Wonderful brunch!

By Catherine E I |

Visiting New York over the weekend, we met friends here for Sunday brunch (on Easter Sunday). They identified it as one of their favorite places and it lived up to their high estimation. The teens had waffles, eggs with asparagus and potatoes, and another the octopus. All three were satisfied. The adults had a caprese panini (which comes with salad), another had eggs and polenta, and I had eggs with bacon and arugula on whole wheat bread. All excellent. We started our meal with mimosas and a prosecco/lemon sorbet combo (can't remember the italian name) that was excellent. While the teens ran off to Dylan's candy store, the adults shared an amazing panne cotte. Excellent food at every turn. I would definitely come back.

Dirty napkins and disappointing food

By niki t |

The room was extremely cold, the customers they 're wearing their coats. The food was unexpectedly spicy, the napkins were shockingly dirty and the waiters were not apologetic enough or helpful.

Good Italian Trattoria

By Richard D |

Another nice dinner at Tarallucci e Vino, began with burrata and a glass of pinot bianco. Then fregnacce, pasta with Abruzzi duck ragu, and a glass of nebbiolo. Both courses were very good and the wines, while not memorable, were fine. Noise level in the back area was fairly high until about 9 PM when many finished their meals and departed.

One of my favorite places to have lunch in NYC

By Z1441WPinfo |

I love Tarallucci e Vino. Whether it for the lunch menu: quick easy and delicious, the great coffee and croissants, the ample vine selection, or the friendly staff, its one of my favorite places to go in New York,

Excellent authentic Italian food

By targaryens |

My friend and I were walking around starving, and chose this place with barely a glance at the menu. I couldn't have been more pleasantly surprised. The staff was very friendly, the service was very fast, and the food was authentic and delicious. You must try the bruschetta for an appetizer - simply divine. It's a bit pricey so not a great place if you're doing New York on a tight budget, but otherwise highly recommended.

Nice Setting, Uneven Food, Big Check

By wamrazing |

Met some friends here for dinner, early on weekday evening. We had reservation, but it would have been no problem to walk in. Design/layout was pleasant, seemed to be a good place to have a drink. Place filled up with time and even with a couple of large parties it was easy to hold a conversation. Appetizers were good, we tried the buffalo mozzarella and grilled octopus, but the mains were less of a hit. My pasta with broccoli rabe and sausage was good, but the lasagna and other pasta dish were pretty bland. Servings are continental...that is a nice way of saying small. We asked for sparkling water and got the house water made in a Soda Stream and were charged for refills...c'mon, if I'm getting NYC tap water let's be reasonable here, don't charge me for San Pelligrino. We didn't stick around for dessert. The service was good once we were seated, but overall I don't see us ever coming back. The food was uneven...some good and some not, but the price tag for this culinary guessing game was silly. If I'm going to spend that kind of money, I expect much better food. Lots of restaurants around...try somewhere else.

WONDERFUL breakfast!

By vagabondmom1 |

We had an absolutely lovely and delicious breakfast here on a rainy morning on a visit to NYC. It reminded me of being in a cafe in Paris. The food was delicious...the pastries and the paninis. I wish we had been able to go back here...the next time I go back to NYC I will be visiting this place multiple times!

Great selection of wine and nibbles

By BrownNutOnion |

Met a friend here while visiting town and the range of wines was the perfect way to overcome a torrid trip into Manhattan from JFK. Friendly and knowledgable staff added to a great selection of ante-pasto. It's also small and intimate enough for a private conversation

A Pleasant Experience

By OBofNY |

Had dinner here last night. We were very happy with out waitress and the food was pretty tasty. Prices are not low but worth trying out for sure.

The real deal

By rdetorres |

No touristy italian restaurant here. Always frequented by in the know italians and a stylish crowd from nearby fashion and media businesses.

Amazing girls night dinner

The pasta was fresh, tasty, and perfect. We loved the wine Emanuele recommended. The service was incredible and we will for sure be going back for another girls' night.

Nice!

By Eduardo Blanco |

cozy place for breakfast, good coffee! nice wine list and also a good spot for casual lunch or dinner. I visited the East Village one.

Good breakfast

By LnS2004 |

We chose this restaurant to meet a friend for breakfast. It's located midpoint between his office near Flatiron and our Union Square hotel. The restaurant was kinda quiet on the Wednesday morning we visited. It projects a Italian ambience with outdoor tables and customers drinking coffee at the bar standing up. We were seated in the dining area on a higher level. Our orders of omelette, eggs & pancetta and cereali were prepared, presented and tasted well. The carrot walnut muffin was delicious. The coffee was strong and hot. It was a delightful experience to start the day.

Excellent service

By Eking11 |

Dinner before a show was great. Emanuele made great recommendations (wine and food) as we were feeling indecisive. Meal was paced perfectly to feel unhurried while leaving plenty of time to make it to next destination. Tables were not seated on top of each other, so noise level was great for conversation. Will return!

What a great wine bar..in such a cozy place. Better for apps than meals..and desserts were fantastic.

It is an excellent restaurant. We had the lunch fix menu. The burrata was excellent and the cod fish also. It is a very nace place and the service was very kind.

Wait for the roasted corn salad to return

By EastVillageDenizen |

We spotted T e V after shopping. The outdoor seating was inviting after a long day at the office and hitting a few stores. The roasted corn app special was outstanding: crunchy, nutty and spiced up with slices of Spanish salami. It was lick the plate goodness. The gnocchetti was pedestrian while the coniglio (rabbit) fared better. Nothing exciting on the expensive dessert menu.

The most authentic italian restaurant

By giovanni009 |

I travel a lot over the US, I will spend very few words to talk about this place. Every time I come to NY for me Tarallucci e Vino is the perfect authentic italian restaurant. When you are seated inside you could be in Genova, Lucca, or Bologna maybe also in a small province village. The food is delicious whatever you choose, the people there are simply perfect. What else. Just go and buon appetito.

Ok not impressed

By Yjyj2 |

We dropped by for coffee, wine, desserts and were not all that impressed. Also not so great value for money. The restaurant is probably better for lunch or dinner.

Like French Croissants? Try Their Italian Cousins, The Cornettis

By DriveRideOrFly |

This casual restaurant merits a stopover for drinks and desserts. The latter are baked in-house each morning. The cornettis (my favorite was the apricot) are mouth-watering.

An experience- great food and a service performance

By Kenneth F |

Certainly fine dining, which we enjoyed having local relatives who made use of a discounted offer for a gourmet taster offering

Amazing Food & Service

By Lauren D |

In addition to my always delicious dinners at Tarallucci, I've hosted multiple events there and each has been perfect! The food is always amazing (and they give you great portions), they have a beautiful event space, and the service is top-notch. It's always the number one place I recommend to people when they ask me for Italian in the area - especially for events.

A real Italian experience!

By Alessio |

It’s like being in Italy: great food, unique atmosphere and friendly staff! I would recommend a million times!

Interesting food, quite good value

By timboc |

My partner and I joined my niece and her partner for an evening meal. Three courses each, and two bottles of wine cost us just under $US100/ head, which it thought was pretty good value, given the quality of the food and the innovations made to standard Italian fare. It had a nice atmosphere, too, with a good street buzz. Recommended!

Average

By manhattanfoodie10019 |

The place was busy, which is good. Also very loud. The food was fine, not great, not bad. We had pizza / pasta / wine / dessert. The nutella bomboloni was to die for - best part of the meal! Disappointed that the website references this as a 'wine bar' - but there are 2 seats in the window of the wine bar area, so you can't really eat in the wine bar. Honestly, there are so many fantastic restaurants in the Union Square area, I'd pass on this one since it's just mediocre.

A delightful night

By Hkj00 |

A lovely restaurant with excellent service. I went here with my husband and another couple to celebrate some good news. We had great sparkling wine and some plates to share. The cheese selection is great - the duck on bread was certainly the best! Wine very reasonable - about $40 a bottle. Would definitely go back.

A corner of Italy in Union Square!

By Marghretta |

An Italian restaurant with REAL Italian staff ,authentic Italian food with a comfortable atmosphere where you could hear each other talk: what's not to love? We three ordered the fritto misto, polipo: fantastic grilled octopus, pinsa romana: a delicious mushroom and gorgonzola thin crust pizza, gamberi e zucchini (shrimp with zucchini), and a side of broccoli rabe. Our waiter Emanuele was the epitome of Italian charm. The wine list is well balanced; my lambrusco was delightful and served at the proper temperature. Definitely going back!

Delicious italian breakfast in the city

I have always came to Tarallucci and Vino, in one of its locations in the city to enjoy the cream donut which tastes just like it does in Italy. This particular location has also a restaurant and a variety of wines to taste.

Had dinner by my own during my last business trip to NYC. i was happy to discover the selection of wine and the innovative food they serve. i made it a habit going there each time I’m in NYC for business or friends and family. in my opinion the best espresso in NYC and serve amazing pastry for breakfast and branch.

The meal from h**l

By tourist1940 |

Recently went to this bar/restaurant for a casual meal with my family. Everything was slow, even though only 3 to 5 other tables were occupied. After waiting for over 30 minutes for our entrees we asked the waitress to wake up the kitchen--but it turned out that she hadn't passed our order to them! When the food came it was of low quality, the pasta sauce about the same as the average jarred sauce. A very disappointing meal.

Nice suprise

Did not know much about this place, other than a client suggesting we go there one night. The food was surprisingly good - everything was fresh, nicely prepared. Ingredients were not overwhelming, portions were acceptable, and the fish was clearly high quality and fresh. The ambience was extremely lively. The restaurant was full, yet not crowded. Our server was knowledgeable and made sure we were happy. Restaurant was not cheap, but not over the top expensive either. Great restaurant if you want to go somewhere serving quality eats, yet not overhyped.

Super tasty

Popped by on a whim after cocktails nearby - fantastic food, wonderful service, great wine. Emanuele took brilliant care of us and made us feel like family - we’ll definitely be coming back again for our next girls night! So tasty!

Good food

I like this restaurant for their delicious Italian food. It was recommended to us by some friends originally from Italy who are working in New York. Their risotto with clams are delicious, and I like their cheese selection, especially the cheese with truffles in it. Good macchiato, too. However, this is a place with european (and actually sensible) portions, and more authentic Italian food, so don't expect spaghetti with meatballs and huge portion sizes. If you want that, go to Little Italy instead.

Great place to meet

One of my favorite go-to places to meet for brunch, an excellent pain au chocolate, or for a casual meeting over great coffee. Ideally located just north of Union Square. Service is always excellent and no one makes you feel rushed. Had a wonderful Christmas Eve brunch here with friends. Terrific pastry! Highly recommend!

Can only tell you about the espresso...but damn it was right!

I always miss good espresso when I am away from Italy. Everywhere I have been in America tries to serve you crappy coffee in paper cups. This place has a bar to walk up to, and great espresso. I am glad a stopped by!

Serendipity!

Serendipitous experience! Unaware it was restaurant week as well. We had a savory lunch and the panna cotta was superb. Freddy our server was very attentive. Also took luscious pastries to my fancy in CT. Will most definitely return

Lunch on a snowy day

By dmrxox |

This bistro was close to us and we were hungry, our daughter in law recommended it and the menu looked good. It being restaurant week my husband ordered the special fixed price menu and chose the Bibb salad the pasta and the chocolate Nutella cake. I ordered the potato zucchini soup and half panini. Everything was truly delicious. The service was a leisurely pace, exactly what we wanted on this snowy day. Our waiter was friendly and helpful, the water glasses kept full extra bread brought when asked. The salad was perfectly dressed, pasta perfectly cooked, and portions generous. I suspect the dessert was not made in house but was very good nevertheless. We will definitely return!!

Quaint Italian in Union Square

By jleong16 |

Chose Tarallucci e Vino - Union Square to have dinner with my family. Emanuele was our server and he was terrific. He made some wonderful recommendations from the menu and was extremely attentive. We started with the burrata, polpi, shishito peppers and the fritto misto appetizers. Moved on to gnocchi, orecchiette, cacio e pepe, and the milanese. All dishes were fresh, pasta was handmade and cooked perfectly. Drinks and wine choices were superb. We shared the crostata al limon and the chocolate mousse tart for dessert. Both were equally delicious and a great way to finish the meal. Out of the many choices around Union Square, I highly recommend Tarallucci e Vino.

Absolutely Amazing Atmosphere & Food

My family had a surprise birthday party for myself and let me tell you what a night we had. The atmosphere was amazing, the staff was professional and made for an unforgettable night! And the food?!? ABSOLUTELY amazing. We were a party of 20+ and no one waited long for their drinks, and the food was spectacular. I'd recommend the Bolognese! Huge shout out to Emanuele Rigano this gentleman made the night unforgettable. His authentic Italian knowledge captivated the night! This will become a mainframe for us, whenever we are in the city! #Bellisimi
