Kids and Older folks all enjoyed....

By dorothyd835j |

We came here quite by accident and it was a very good experience. The younger ones shared a pizza which was excellent. Two had the Greek lemon soup—Avgolemono. The soup was very good as was the combination platter of Greek appetizers which we all shared. The salads were huge--I recommend sharing one for two people. The Greek meat dish was declared "really good". All in all, pleasant service, quiet and something for everyone.

Inconsistent quality

By Antigoniesq |

What happened here? We had dinner here a couple of months ago and loved it! We went there yesterday and felt let down. The bread used to be especially good, warm, crunchy- now it was stale and not tasty at all. The mpifteki was a small portion and dry. The Greek salad was ok, but the feta portion was small. The grilled octopus appetizer was tasty, albeit again on the small side for the price of $14. The service was friendly but on the slow side- it seemed that there was sufficient bus-staff but only one waiter. We were rather disappointed...

They have a new location / Best Gyro I've Had

By Jesse M |

Telio is not closed. Had not been to the old location but absolutely love the new location. They are dinner only. By far the best gyro I have had anywhere. Not a Tzatziki fan but theirs is amazing and may have converted me. Delicious tomato croquettes and zucchini croquettes as well. The best shrimp saganaki I've had in the United States. Props to head waiter Axel as well as last night's sever Eryn.

Very fresh, always good

Beautiful salads and mediterranean dishes, with outdoor as well as indoor seating. A lot of elderly regulars but you can usually get a table without much waiting. Try the greek yogurt with honey - amazing!

Good food, not so good service

By Nicole H |

Made a reservation for 6 people for an early dinner before a performance. We showed up 10 minutes early and they weren’t really ready for us - that is fine and to be expected. But it’s not expected to take 10 minutes to even get water and be acknowledged by a server when we finally are seated. Food was good and flavorful and came out fairly quickly. But had to ask for refills on water and our iced tea three times before we got one refill and then when we got the bill we found out that they charged us for the iced tea refill! Disappointed.

Telio means Perfect, but it's not quite; still, it's pleasant, reasonable, and I'll be back

By JerseyJean |

I like this restaurant, and one of my three recent meals there was truly great. It was a lunch, and I chose a soup and salad combo. The price was extremely reasonable. The lentil soup was generous in quantity, hearty, and exquisite, and the salad with chick peas, finely chopped veggies, some other beans, and great dressing was filling and delicious. Meal 2, at dinnertime, was a personal veggie pizza. Flavorful and well-made, with generous toppings of good ingredients, but a bit soggy. Meal 3 was a baked stuffed eggplant dish with greens. I am sore because they served a tablemate a beautiful, fresh piece, overflowing with stuffing, while trying to pawn off on me a tired, sparse piece, clearly reheated and shriveled and small. I sent it back and they served me a fresh piece, which was delicious. So it is a good restaurant, but in the fray they have to watch and make sure they don't get careless. Service is cheerful and reasonably efficient, but at two busy mealtimes I had to get up to go ask for my waiter. To me, that's not a deal-breaker; they're always friendly as they dash out to help.

Solid greek food

By tifasch |

The Service was good. The kotopoulo souvlaki was okay but not very well seasoned. Other dishes might be better so it could be worth a try.

Just returned -- and very good once again

By Trup |

Nothing fancy about Telio --- just really solid and tasty food at reasonable prices. One waitress covered the whole place --- effortlessly and efficiently. I went with my wife and friend from out of town --- all three of us were very pleased with our lunch choices, just as I was when I went once before --- less than a year ago --- for lunch as well.

Great food, casual spot

By juniemoonie |

I was surprised to see anything but positive reviews of Telio. I travel across the city to meet friends at there. Food is very good--kebabs, octopus, salad with salmon, and today, a great turkey burger. Very casual atmosphere which may turn some folks off. Prices seem reasonable for Manhattan fare. Okay. Service is just so so, especially when they're busy. But I say, give it a try.

Super!

By Randy W |

This has become our spot for my family to meet-up with other families. They are super accommodating of our allergies and the kids' picky food preferences. The service is great, the food delicious. Great Place!

Nice location, OK overall

By Kevin C |

Very pleasant staff in small, almost cafe like atmosphere. They are attached to a pizza place which explains pizza on menu. Had gyro and tomatoes were overripe, and the lamb was nothing special. The Greek fries were better at many other places-seemed like they just put pepper and cheese on top. The overall taste of gyro was decent, as sauce was good, and the chicken and broccoli was ok, too. If not for service would probably be a star less.

The Greek Contribution to Broadway

By pkgreen2018 |

Telio first opened it's pizza restaurant called Perfecto in the 1990s. Their neighbor businesses have been open for 20+ years and I must admit, it makes me smile to see a small business succeed. The mother scrubs and cleans every morning and the brothers are always on premises. The interior is bright with various pics of the land of Socrates, Plato and Zeno of Elea. Now let's get to the food. The pizza is decent and it draws a daily crowd of locals and visitors. The Greek dishes are above average but not the best I've ever had when visiting their country. I recommend the Greek Salad and the Lamb Souvlaki Sandwhich. I've also attempted their italian dishes but you cannot order the pasta "al dente." Most Italians would cringe. The most important thing beyond the food and colorful characters that hang out in this neighborhood joint, is the staff. George, Maria, Hailey and Andreas are wonderful. They draw a crowd of regulars (many of them are a seriously off their rockers). I eat here on occasion to support small businesses in the neighborhood, but mostly I go to see the staff who work hard many days and wave to me when I walk by.

Very Much an Average Restaurant

By Arple |

This restaurant was comfortable and quiet, but the stuffed cabbage was watery and the service was quite slow.

Casual Comfortable Dining

By Fools4Food |

I was at first disappointed that my friends had chosen this, of all restaurants in Manhatton, but as it turned out, I loved it. Quaint, with outdoor seating. Our service was perfect and attentive, and the restaurant was packed. We were lucky we hadn't had to wait for a table. I must RAVE about the grilled chicken, which our waiter recommended, olive oil parsley and lemon and just spectacular in its simplicity. The fries on the side were yummy. If one is in the area, it's a must.

Terrible. Do not eat here.

By Stavroula K |

We came here to eat dinner one night on our trip to NY. We are Greeks, we saw a Greek restaurant and decided to eat here. Big mistake. We ordered a chicken souvlaki and a greek salad which were OK. But my order was a turkey burger. As I was eating it I noticed that it was still pink inside. I told the waitress that my turkey burger was undercooked, and she told me that that is how people eat it. I said I know that about red meat, but it is forbidden to cook poultry medium raw because of salmonella. Her answer was "This is America, deal with it". You could kill people by serving chicken and poultry medium rare and this is not a thing about being America or not. Salmonella is worldwide, and poultry needs to be cooked all through worldwide. I work with food and I know that for sure. And I am sure that the waitress knew that as well, and that she was trying to cover up the mistake. But they should be more careful and more kind with customers.

So good, I'm writing the review at the table

By Jean-Paul D |

I wanted to write this review after my first visit, but held off, thinking it would be better to sample twice before solidifying my position. Well, I'm sold. I can't always get to Astoria, so this upper-west side establishment has become my new Manhattan favorite for Greek cuisine. I won't get specific due to the relative food-coma I'm currently enduring, but I will say, that if I close my eyes while I eat here, I'm transported to Greece: the flavors are spot-on, the service is relaxed, however attentive, and the bill is beyond reasonable in relation to the experience. I'll keep coming back, for sure.

Back again

By Mark E |

Just had lunch, as good as ever and at a bargain (lunch specials cost the same as a plastic box of fancy salad at a place across Broadway). Haute Cuisine it isn't, but good honest cooking in a decent restaurant at a hard to beat price. Worth another visit I reckon. Mark

Good food and plenty of it.

By ArmyNurseElPaso_TX |

Great cheesecake. Terrific Spanikopita. Good Baklava. The Chicken Marsala and Chicken Francese were a little dry. The spreads were very good.

A favorite in this neighborhood

By fromaway2 |

I've only eaten here a few times, but the food and service has always been good. There's a varied menu, portions are good, food delicious.

Great food, lousy service!

By Jeremy V |

Great food, horrible service! I sat down at a sidewalk table. Table was wobbly, there was a shim (wadded paper) next to - not under - one table leg. I asked the waiter, Alex, to fix it. He accused me of moving the shim. I said, "I didn't do it." Alex said,"Yes, you did." I asked Alex for iced coffee. Alex brought HOT coffee. Fifteen minutes later, I finally got iced coffee, after asking inside.I got a delicious souvlaki turkey sandwich on toasted pita, but there was NO SET-UP on the table. I had to go inside again and ask the owner for it. Alex never came back to ask, "Is anything all right?" I'd been writing with a favorite red pen. I looked high and low but my pen had suddenly mysteriously vanished!. When Alex brought back my credit card slip, MY PEN was there in the check folder. Alex has taken MY PEN off the table rather than using his! This is totally unacceptable impudent behavior. Then I asked Alex for a refill of iced coffee. "We only do refills on coffee, not iced coffee," he informed me. I'd never hear of this before. As I was leaving I asked Alex, "What's your REAL profession? Because you're certainly not a waiter." While I was talking to him Alex turned and walked away. Such unmitigated, insulting impertinence I have never encountered in 50+ years of dining out. This "waiter" RUINED an otherwise perfectly fine meal. He definitely should be disciplined...if not fired, and taught how to do his job right, people skills, and good manners! I regret even giving him a $1.00 "mercy" tip!

Great local spot

By RobinH382 |

We rented an apartment in the Upper West Side and happily came upon Telio. Enjoyed it so much we made three visits...one lunch and two dinners. The staff were friendly and accommodating....offering up suggestions when asked. Pasta is good, wine list has plenty of selections to suit almost everyone. Lunch was omelettes which were well prepared. Dinner choices of pasta were well presented and tasty...clams linguine was simple but delicious. The pasta was al dente as it should be. Lobster ravioli was terrific as was the linguini with seafood and pink sauce. Caprese salad was decent but nothing special. Prices are more than reasonable. All in all, a nice local spot.

So good we went back a second time

By Brucestewart |

This restaurant was close to the hotel that we were staying at and was so good that we returned for dinner on our last night in New York. The staff were very pleasant and efficient and in particular I would like to thank the waiter who suggested that we have the Argentinian Malbec with our meal on our second visit. While it cost a bit more than we like to pay for a bottle of wine when dining out it was truly excellent.

Best pizza, flavourful chicken, the real deal desserts

By Anna S |

I came with my 11 y/o daughter for lunch. She had mushroom pizza, and said that was the best she's eaten so far in NY (and she's eaten a lot of pizza). I had the lunch special, lentil soup, roast chicken, rice and salad. The food was truly unbelievably good. So fresh tasting, flavourful, they use a variety of herbs and spices that all go together. The portions were very generous. We were in a hurry, and the service was prompt, courteous, and very friendly. It was just overall a most pleasant experience. Their desserts and coffee looked authentically Italian, not just a cheap American imitation with custard. As we were in a rush, we got tiramisu and cannoli to go, and had the best time eating them later. Dessert portions are generous, as well. I am finishing my leftovers in the airport, and even cold, the chicken is amazing. If I am ever back in NY, I am making a special trip there just to eat. Free wifi.

Lively, popular, and very tasty,

By babubenj |

We are here (Upper West Side) for 5 weeks, sampling as we go. On a warm, twilight summer evening we sat outside and enjoyed two delicious dinner salads. Mellow mood. Service prompt, attentive and not intrusive. We finished off with a shared baklava. Clearly the place is popular with locals, deservedly so. We plan to return several times before we leave.

Nice neighborhood spot

By Frank |

Good food friendly service and reasonable price. Very extensive menu. Service was good and friendly. Atmosphere a bit cramped and quite warm. I would go back.

Celebrating a new move

By Mindy S |

We went early for dinner after setting up a dorm room at Columbia University. Family, all adults. We were immediately seated and bread was delivered to the table. Our order was taken and prepared with out haste. The food was delicious and the portions were generous. Our waiter was watchful but not intrusive. Great place for dinner. The open air seating right onto the sidewalk was very quaint.

Yummy and fresh!

By Vagenende |

We met here to talk about an event, and had Sunday Brunch (14.95 including Bloody Mary or Mimosa). The food was plentiful, the quality was homemade and fresh. It was a bonus that they had the final World Cup game (quietly in the background), We sat near the window, and the breeze was Ionian. I had no expectations, but the friendly responsiveness, the presence of the owner keeping an eye on things, the clean flavors - well you know my return will be intentional.

Great moussaka

By flehrer |

This Italian and Greek restaurant is worth visiting. Several of us ordered the moussaka and were not disappointed. The portion was just right. It came with a small Greek salad which was served on the same plate as the moussaka. The price was reasonable for a NYC restaurant.

Spinach egg benedict

By Russell |

It is always nice to see vegetarian options. In this case I had a good spinach egg benedict with sweet potato fries. The service and food was good. The space is somewhat small and does not absorb sound well. With a couple families with children there, I found the space loud. I will try again for sure.

Good, reasonable food (much of it organic) with charming waitstaff

By SCOBAR123 |

I have lived in NYC for 40 years, much of it on the UWS, and yet I'd never been to TELIO until this week--- and now I've eaten lunch there four times! Very personable waitstaff, fresh, delicious, unfussy food --sandwiches served with the crispest French fries in Manhattan, a delightful array of starters, homemade soups---a terrific local hangout, but also worth a subway or bus ride! Like Ahnold, "I'll be back!"

It's been a while but I will return often

By Trup |

Nothing pretentious about this down-home Greek and Italian restaurant; huge array of choices on the menu at reasonable prices; quick service too. What's not to like. Is it an outstanding experience? No --- but a reliably very good one! My wife and I were in the mood for a light dinner recently (having had appetizers elsewhere); she had their "Perfecto" salad and I had their lamb sandwich....both portions were more than ample and very tasty. We are delighted to have this option in our Upper Westside 'hood!

Would not recommend

By Brooke2222 |

Food and service were terrible. I love Greek food, but this was awful. The staff was not even familiar with the menu. It lacked a Greek feel entirely. The Greek salad was beyond basic, octopus was disappointing, dips were lacking - overall terrible food and service.

Little known gem

By Ivy C |

What a treat! The menu was extensive and tempting. The atmosphere cozy and funky. The food was excellent! Each plate and platter more delightful than the next. Big portions, well-presented, lots of fresh herbs, vegetables, etc. The tsatsiki is better than at most places. The salmon was large and perfectly cooked. Chicken souvlaki perfect. Lamb burger - huge! and great seasoning. We'll be back soon and often!

Good food, good service, low prices. What more do you want?

By LordJeffrey |

An unassuming Greek-Italian neighborhood restaurant whose kitchen spares no effort to provide food that is always tasty and well prepared. We have had lunch and dinner here several times in the last few months, and always enjoyed it. The pastichio is excellent, and my wife swears by the grilled chicken with lemon potatoes. The prices are more than reasonable, and the portions big enough to provide tomorrow's lunch.

Homemade Food Just like my Grandmother Cooked - Terrible

By Forest-Hills-Cynic |

The Upper West Side is where the literati live, yet Symphony Space is located in a restaurant desert - nothing but retail chain stores and Starbucks - not a decent restaurant in site. So we tried Telio a Greek/Italian home style restaurant guarded by a little old Mediterranean couple. But not every grandmother knows good food. Mine was the worst cook in the world. We started with “Greek Spreads”: taramosalata (carp mousse), melizanosalata (eggplant salad), tzatziki (greek yogurt with garlic cucumbers and mint) and tyrokafteri (red pepper and feta cheese purée). All tasted as if just spooned from a Krinos Jar. The spanakopita was a soggy mess with a caked burnt crust – obviously had been sitting around for days and reheated many times. Our Entrees were a Gyro plate, Chicken Kebab and veal parmigana. I knew we were in trouble when they were served 5 minutes after ordering. All tasted wet from the steam table and then reheated. The pasta was Al Mushy, rather than al dente – had to eat with a spoon because the strands broke on the tines of a fork – Chef Boyardee is better quality. Box wine for $12 glass.

Disappointed in the lamb!

By Harborhome |

My friend and I ordered to go from Telio's. We expected much better quality than we found there. The lamb was boring, under flavored, not marinated or especially "middle-eastern." The salads were also very boring. The yogurt sauce was almost nothing more than just plain yogurt. It is not so difficult to use the right spices and herbs to create these wonderful dishes, and Telio's just didn't seem to bother! Also, while I was waiting to pick up our order, the people behind the counter were just tossing the food around, acting bored, chatting with each other, no saying hi to the customers. They paid more attention to the bicycle delivery guy than they did to the 3 of us waiting in line. Sad.

Good

By Mark E |

Great service, adequate to good food quality and generous portion sizes. The Cheesecake was particularly good. Decor uninspiring (although I recognised some of the views of Santorini), but good enough. The staff looked after the kids well and overall it was a good family dining experience, which with two under 5s is quite remarkable. Mark

Fancy, no--but excellent food, A+ service, @ 20th-century prices

By Matthew G |

Broadway in the 90s has restaurants galore, but few you'd make a point of visiting. Needing a quick pick-me-up with an early dinner in prospect, I stopped in, ordered a bowl of the chicken soup, and went on my way very, very happy. Check: under $10, with iced tea and tip. Returned next day to sample the appetizers: grilled shrimp and octopus, spinach pie, stuffed grape leaves all exemplary. Extra points for the phyllo on the pie: golden brown and flaky, just like your Greek grandmother used to make. And the service was first-class: the host greets each visitor as his personal and respected guest.

Great Pizza & some good entrees but can be hit or miss

By CarolynNYC |

Telios is a Greek restaurant paired with a pizza parlor. The pizza parlor makes GREAT pizza. The Greek restaurant is a train wreck. We've had things that were truly awful (dried out chicken kebab, salad with a rubbery slab of white cheese atop like an afterthought). The stuffed cabbage with lemon potatoes is great (think lemon, not tomato), as is the Avgolemono soup (lemon rice...notice the lemon theme?). So for take out: Pizza, with a fairly generous family size Greek salad or lemon soup. We've kind of given up eating there, but you might have better luck.

Wheres my Waiter--- Place has Potential,... but I WILL NOT BE BACK

By TaylorP61 |

I stopped in this Little Indoor/ Outdoor Sidewalk Dining establishment at 2479-81 Broadway in the Upper West Side of Manhattan, for a Lite Lunch,... and to My Surprise, the Food Portions were Huge. Dining alone around 3 in the Afternoon,... Lunch without Alcohol was $$25.00..... Not overly Impressive. No Wine List was offered. Sidewalk Dining under shaded awning. Dined alone and had Sparkling Water started with an App, Later learned it was enough for 5-6, Ordered the Veggie Small Pizza. ( It was Humongous) Waiter ( ALEX) delivered Appetizer n Pizza at the Same Time. ( NOT GOOD) I couldn't find him once someone Dropped food off,... Food Was Cold. Later saw my Waiter on a cell phone peeking at me from the Back of the Restaurant in another Room adjacent to restaurant. was wanting a cappuccino n dessert but I sat a long time without a waiter. So I finally got up only to get another Server to get my check. I tipped 20%, I felt sorry for the waiter,.. and was very Displeased,... Cheesy Old Italian Music Playing with overtones of Teen Pop Music,... Beautiful Decor' Sad Service, cold Food

Great Food

By Himelda |

We loved our food and found the place very interesting as a neighborhood gem. the fish was specially good and the salads and soups wonderful. Prices are also good. We strongly recommend it

Oh so amazing

By mdarenfrow |

I couldn’t decide between the appetizers they were also amazing. Settled on the halloumi cheese plate and some fried zucchini chips. The portions were large and filling. I wrapped it up with some chicken Kebob. Again generous portions and full of flavor. Will be back again for sure !

Solid Greek

By wdtaylor1066 |

We ate here 3 times. The food is good solid Greek fare. Classic dishes with no frills and not too much salt. Nice wine selection including some Greek ones. Great baklava and coffee. Very aware staff, freindly and professional.

Better than local area diners!

By Trup |

I have eaten at Telio several times and have written at least two prior reviews. This is, simply stated, a very popular UWS eatery (Greek and Italian food especially). I went for dinner recently (by myself) and felt like a hamburger -- the hamburger was huge, cooked to perfection and accompanied by French fries just the way I like them. I left feeling happy and stuffed!

What a treat

By Carol Ann R |

I live nearby Telio but somehow never ate there. Mistake! The service is good; staff friendly and knowledgeable. Their food is fresh and delicious. I was suspicious of a Greek and Italian menu but they do it well. Nothing fancy but you can get a good meal with wine for $30 including tip (and maybe have some food left to take home). Cheerful decor, blue and white checkered tablecloths with paintings on the wall that seem to be the same found in any Greek restaurant but are nonetheless pleasant.

Fresh, Authentic, Tasty Mediterranean

By Hnybnch |

Our new "go-to" place in the neighborhood for Sunday night dinner. Greek & Italian dishes, generous portions, fresh ingredients, authentic flavors, reasonable price, pleasant service. Grilled octopus appetizer (cooked to perfection) and house salad (bursting with tomatoes) was a satisfying dinner. Hubby had chicken kabob (tender/crisp pieces of chicken with grilled veg on skewers) and baklava (just right in sweetness and spice) for dessert. Ambience is not fancy, but warm and welcoming, unpretentious.

Food just ok......if you can get served.

By 4evaLuv-Holidays |

We went to this restaurant twice, but only got to eat here once as the second time we went we couldn't get served, so we left after about 15minutes of no drink - nothing! They weren't that busy, they just didn't have enough staff. It seemed like the 2 staff they had were looking after guests known to them, but ignored tourists like us. Food was ok. Reasonable price. Both times the service was slow. Not much ambiance, but convenient location to where we were staying. Anyway, as we couldn't get served there we went next door to Cleopatra's Needle and had a fabulous night....2 nights actually!

Authenic

By robcurtross |

Crowded, under staffed with average Greek American food. Cleanliness could be improved. 'Seems to have a loyal neighborhood clientele.

One Dish is Enough for Two!

By Athina078 |

Fast, friendly, courteous service. Good home cooked food. Extremely large portions. A bit pricey. Good, convenient location on Broadway.

Very good Greek food!

By gordon f |

I ordered the veggie stuffed eggplant (Imam Bayildi). It was freshly made with piles of mushrooms, onions and tomatoes. It comes with lemon marinated potatoes. The prices are reasonable for NYC dining. There was no room for dessert. Next time. I would certainly return.

Better inside than out

By isablubelle |

had brunch there, but also dinner before, i like the food, nothing pretentious, but fresh and good. the service is nice fast and pleasent. close to the metro station, i would not go there especially, but if you are in the area and hungry, you can go for it

Blah to very blah

By Brian K |

Feels like fast food in the middle of UWS. Grilled octopus was dry, mezzes were boring and tasteless, even the feta in the Greek salad seemed tasteless. Oh, the pita was good. Service was slow. Perhaps because it was a Monday, midday, the usual chef was off or on a break, and the one waiter was doing everything so it may be better at busier times.

I have been there twice more

By Trup |

I have had lunch with friends there twice in the last month --- I love the huge variety of Italian and Greek options on the menu. The food is consistently good though rarely superb. That said, in my most recent visit, I chose an appetizer for lunch -- their Greek meat balls -- they were terrific!! My wife had their zucchini patties and really liked them too. Our guests went with two different soups --- also pleased. Service is fast and the prices are reasonable. Nice to have Telio in our Upper Westside neighborhood.

Pretty Good Greek Food

By Krishna Sreenivasan |

Telio has decent Greek food. Nothing special or worth traveling for, but a good option if you live within around 10 blocks of it. I ordered the Greek Salad, which was pretty good, like all Greek salads. Basically, go here if you're nearby, if not then it's not worth it.

Delicious Dinners

By David S |

Went to amovie and went up to Telios for dinner. I really enjoyed my chicken kabob. A very nice two skewer serving with tasty rice. Others enjoyed flounder over rice with lemon sauce and eggplant parm. Great setvice😊 Recommend going here.

Excellent food and service

By bfh195 |

Wonderful Greek restaurant near our hotel. The grilled octopus was absolutely delicious. Zucchini fritters were very good. The Gyro plate was great also, generous portions. Nice, affordable house red wine. Didn't have the pizza, but it looked awesome.

Very friendly neighborhood place

By Larry Z |

I've gone any number of times. They have Greek and Italian food. I've never had the Italian but the Greek is very good. Sit at the bar if you want to meet your neighbors

Nice Greek Family Restaurant

By Alison S |

Ate here before an event at Symphony Space. Service was prompt and friendly. Interesting menu. Good (not great) Greek food.

Nice Surprise

By swan056 |

Went for lunch, lovely authentic restaurant, very friendly, went with my son and we both had pasta, beautiful food had so much we needed to take some back with us, we definitely recommend

Greek, Italian, American cuisine -- take your pick!

By Trup |

I met a friend for lunch and we were both quite pleased --- for $9.95, we had a choice of three soups and a lamb-burger accompanied by a generously sized salad or serving of fries (I chose the latter --- they were very good fries!). The service was prompt and pleasant, the restaurant was quiet enough to enable conversation w/o strain and the price was a bargain. I'm just sorry that it has taken me too long to find this place that is only six blocks from my home!

Great local Mediterranean food

By MARKLFL |

Great fish, rabbit, and meat. Spinach pie is authentic and delicious. Pasta is great. Pizza is very good. Try homemade desert. Great local eatery. Great value. No decor.

Not What it Used To Be

By SusanWNewYork |

For over 12 years, Tell at it's old location on Broadway was my hangout and go-to place for good, solid, reliable Greek food. Bur something has been lost in the move between Broadway and Columbus Avenue. My delivery this evening, all dishes I had enjoyed for years, was disappointing, to say the least. Chicken avgolemono soup was too salty, veggie chips were soggy and too salty, and the rice pudding, which used to be perfection, was unpleasantly sweet. I threw half of the food into the garbage. An old standby has been ruined.

Inconsistent

By meyertune |

First time; ; stuffed turkey breast v.g. Ordered same dish delivered a day later and it arrived dry and like cardboard, Maybe their grilled shish-kebab is more consistent. Order carefully if you go.
