The food here is amazing. The pad thai portions are huge. The soup is full of flavor and always arrives hot. One of my favorites on the Upper West Side.

I dined here in the beginning of December, service was good and the food was mediocre. I ordered a vegetarian option of a dish that isn't on the menu but the manager said was doable. I came back the following Wednesday and tried to order the same dish. There was a different manager and they said it couldn't be done because it is already premade with oil that contains animal fat/non vegetarian. Now I don't know if what they served me was vegetarian and am irate at why they would offer a fake vegetarian option.

Found this restaurant on Trip Advisor when we were visiting family in New York City. Food was so good, and service was so friendly and attentive, we had to go back the next night. The pad Thai was perfect— not too sweet, but moist. Excellent prices, too, especially considering this is on the Upper West Side.

Restaurant had a good atmosphere but ask to sit near the back of the restaurant or you keep getting a draft from the door. They were kind enough to move us when a table was free. Price of wine we found reasonable compared to the rest of NYC. Food was ok the friends I was with enjoyed there’s more than I did. I had the duck dish but found it a bit msg which is unusual for Thai. But the calamari starter was good. My food also came out quite awhile after everyone else’s

Very tasty Thai food! We’re visiting from Texas and felt it didn’t quite have the spice kick we are used to, but the flavor was all there. We had the Assorted Sampler to start, Drunken Noodles, Udon Basil (one beef, one chicken), the Sweet and Sour deluxe, and the Volcano Duck. All were very good.

Previous visit was unimpressive, we went again with no expectations, just to have a bite.Food was unacceptable. top was what was described in the menu as "whole red snapper", it was a dry fried SKELETON with almost not a shred of fish meat that was apparently striped prior to frying. The manager explained that" they have new kitchen staff who are there only two weeks". He offered free desert and drink which we declined, there is no reason for more of the Bad. The waitstaff were friendly and the manager was courteous ,the atmosphere seems warm and inviting although crowded (it is hard to ignore conversations in adjoining table, the group next to us stayed for a short while and left most of their food in the plates). Hopefully managment will train their kitchen staff how to cook.

Amazing food and service. I had the lunch deal where you can get an appetizer, a soup or salad as well as a main. I had the shrimp and chicken dumpling, salad and Thai green curry all of which were cooked and prepared to perfection.

We decided on Thai and heard this was a good place. The staff were so friendly, helpful and overall wonderful. They answered any questions and had suggestions We decided to go with the lunch ch menu. One of had drunken noodles, green curry and the three sauce red snapper. All dishes were so flavorful and delicious. Even the vegetables were flavored. The dumplings and spring rolls were fresh and quite tasty. This is a place I plan to return to. Everything was phenomenal as was the staff and atmosphere

Great service, tasty Thai meal served on upper west side. Had the cashew nut sautéed chicken dish so good, as the fried rice dish

Stumbled upon this place by accident and had a good dinner. Very friendly staff and the food was tasty. We shared mixed appetizers and had a main each, which I didn't manage to finish (quite a lot of food) but that may be different for others.

Decor is nice, Serving staff are excellent-friendly and knowledgeable. Food is OK not exciting but pleasant.overall: a good experience.

What a find this place is! From the neighborhood and the entrance, you'd never guess what you'll find inside Thai72. A warm Ambiance with brick walls, lights hanging from the ceiling over each table and a water wheel on one wall. The menu is the most extensive I have ever seen in a thai restaurant. Although we stuck with thai food, the menu also includes surprises like rack of lamb over mashed potatoes. The service was terrific, food reasonably priced and the specialty cocktails a real treat. Given the quality of the food and service it could easily have been priced much higher, however the average entrée is $12-$15.

Great find. We loved the atmosphere. Quiet and nice. The staff was helpful and friendly. The food was so good we went back for dinner. Variety and good prices.

Thai72 suffers from the same malady as many average Thai places: the sauces are too sweet. Our duck tamarind cloyed although the first bite or so was tasty. The seafood pad Thai (and I assume the regular pad Thai) also needed some sharpness. The sweetness overwhelmed. The papaya salad at least was not sweet but also needed some sharpness. The restaurant is catering to local tastes perhaps. On the plus side, the portions were large. The duck was ample and the pad Thai had many ingredients, both well worth the price. Service was somewhat lax. We had to ask for plates and tableware. I should have asked for sriracha for a little kick to the sweetness. The outdoor space was fine. The sirens and street people go with the territory.

The revamping of this space is incredible. It's like a completely different restaurant from its predecessor, Lime Leaf. The service was very good, and the food was delicious. I will definitely go back many times!

This was the best Thai food I've ever had. My whole family loved it. We had a reservation and were seated immediately. The server was attentive, and very understanding of my daughter's food allergies. Delicious food!

I had the emerald Mojito which was really good. Had the curry chicken lettuce wrap appetizer and sweet and spicy cashew veggies for lunch. Food was excellent and service very friendly. Nice and cozy restaurant

Came here for lunch with the family. Staff were super friendly and food tasted amazing. Overall excellent experience.

The food was excellent. I ordered an appetizer sampler and one was better than the other. The bourbon and ginger cocktail (brick something) was simply delicious. My son enjoyed his dish as well. The service was prompt and courteous. A wonderful meal!

Great neighborhood restaurant with excellent service and menu selections. We loved all we chose. Fun and warm environment.

The food is very good; the service is friendly and efficient; the space is beautiful; the lighting is excellent; the cocktails are fun; the prices are fair. A welcome addition to the choice of ethnic restaurants on the UWS

We went for a birthday celebration and a table of 12. The service was on point with every dish full of flavor and color. A nice vibe and wonderful service capped off a great night, I will defiantly be back.

American food doesn't do it for me. This was the best meal I had while in the states. I had envy of my partners plate too. 7/10 massaman curry.

Tug away from the Main Street, this little restaurant put on some nice decor but the food was far too sweet and lacked the real Thai flavor, notably in the green curry which was far too simple in ingredients, no small eggplants, peas and too much coconut milk. The seafood Pad Thai was sweet as a dessert! Last but not least, it is not an expensive eatery but not cheap either. The service was OK!

Nice atmosphere, friendly service. The menu is extensive and they have specials. A good array of appetizers, soups large and small, salads, main courses and desserts. Also have Thai iced tea, mango or lychee. I had a small vegetable soup, mango avocado salad, and also a seafood pad thai dish, some of which we wrapped up for home.

I decided to try this place, and while it isn't much to look at on the outside, the inside is almost like an oasis. The decoration was pleasant and tasteful (vs being tacky or over-powering), there was the soothing sound of water in the background, it was serene, and the service was really pleasant and effective. Of note: 1) Should this info be helpful to you, this place closed at about 4pm for the staff to have their lunch. 2) I was pleasantly surprised that they had a lunch menu on the weekend (which most restaurants only have during the weekday). It's a nice way to sample an appetizer, soup, and entrée. The food itself was really great - from soup, the appetizers to main courses. It is actually so good that I plan to go back possibly for an upcoming special event, and I've already ordered from them again! Definitely try it, but make sure not to spoil the serenity that is this place when you're there!

How much fun is it to discover a great new restaurant in your own neighborhood. Having walked past this enchanting place many times I decided today was the day to stop in for lunch. I couldn’t resist, so I ordered the crispy duck, which was deliciousness in every bite. The fried rice and the brown sauce over the duck were cuff Led with a small serving of Thai soup. Give it a try. The place is elegant. The service is attentive and the food is young.

Fabulous restaurant. In an out-of-the way and unassuming place but when you walk back in this small restaurant the ambiance is beautiful- glowing lamps and cozy brick walls. The food was amazing and reasonable prices. I recommend most highly. My partner had a duck dish which was fantastic and large. I had the drunken noodles with extra veggies which was exceptional. Fantastic cocktail of Lycee martini.

This was a wonderful experience. I had fried fish and it is seriously one of the best dishes I’ve had. The ambience is very nice and simple and truly I forget what else I had as this dish was amazing. Best

We were five and we were hungry! We had booked ahead and so there was no delay. We ordered a selection of starters to share between us including Spring Rolls, Chicken Satay, Thai Dumplings and Chicken Wings. I then had Pork Chops with Mango Chutney which were delicious! The service was attentive and friendly and Nutcha was delightful! In summary, a tasty experience and well recommended!

Very good food, for a very good price! I chose the volcano duck and it was delicious. Be sure you’re hungry, when you go in, because the portions are enormous

Thai72 went downhill after a few months of its grand opening. It started to impose certain arbitrary policies—though, none are written or, at least, made available to customers. Here are some (from personal experience as well as other customers): No service dogs (this violates the American with Disabilities Act) No outside drinks No exceptions (despite it being someone’s wedding)

Lovely and peaceful atmosphere, pleasant service, good food. There is a nice selection of various Thai specialties and everyone enjoyed what they ordered.

It was the first time I tried Thai food. The atmosphere was relaxed but busy. I had no idea what to expect so I was ready to explore. We tried 5 different dishes and I really don't remember the names. I did enjoy the curry though although mild since I'm used to spicy Indian curries. The other flavors were ok but it's a taste and type of food that I'd have to aquire over time.

This is my third time in 2 years. Food is always fresh. Customer service was superb. Servers courteous and friendly. GgExcellent green Thai and drunken noodles.

We had a show at Lincoln center so wanted to find something in the neighborhood. Saw great reviews and decided to give it a try. It was great. Not close to tourist attractions but not far off metro line. We got there early but was full by the time we were done. Would definitely recommend reservations. Would go back.

I used to go there quite a few times before Covid and the food was good, not fantastic but ok. Now that the have reopened nothing tastes as good as before, I would actually say tasteless. The Pad Thai was mostly noodles with one little piece of chicken, The Drunken, the Pad Thing,, even the Bangkok Jumbo Shrimp did not look the same and did not have much taste.

Thai72 is a very nice Thai restaurant. The food is excellent, the meat was top quality, the vegetables were fresh and crisp. The decor is really nice. The staff is very friendly and helpful. If you like Thai food, you will certainly like this place.

Impressed by good quality food, nice cocktails and great service. Definitely will be back. Thank you fot making our night special.

The food is amazing. Prices are very reseonable for the location. the euphoric sensation upon tasting amazingly delicious food.

Went several times for dinner and were able to taste a large number of items; unimpressed by the signature(special) dinners, but many appetizers and all currys were delicious.

I had the pad thai and thought it was great. Tea was really good, too, but I thought my cocktail was a little bland. Decor was nice, service was great.

The food and atmosphere was brilliant. A delicious Green Curry perfect. Reasonable price and great service. We would recommend this if you are in the area.

I have been here a number of times and have found the food excellent. I loved the tasty Spicy Thai Eggplant dish ($15). I asked for and was given what I would call medium spicy. My companions asked for mild spiciness in their Red Curry with Shrimp and found it a little too hot for them, but loved the flavor of the dish anyway. Pots of tea are $4. I really enjoyed the definite flavor of the green tea. A companion liked the jasmine tea. The appetizer chicken satay ($10) was very good. The subtotal for three of us with two pots of tea, a soup, three entrees, and the appetizer came to $80, a little more than we wanted to pay. Next time I will probably do without the appetizer and the teas. Excellent service. Nice setting. At times we found it too loud and we could not eat there. We came a littel later on a weekday and the noise level was tolerable.

A lovely restaurant located within walking distance to Lincoln Center with great service. The decor is warm and modern with an Asian accent. The seating is comfortable and allows easy conversation at normal tones. The menu is broad and enticing with attractive photos. The options address all tastes: soups, salads, noodles, seafood, meat and vegetarian. The dishes we ate were wonderful - freshly cooked ingredients, tasty sauces all spiced to your desires. Other diners in the restaurant had equally attractive dishes with wonderful aromas in the air.

My wife and I ate here prior to a concert at the Beacon Theater, having made a reservation for 5:30 p.m. on a Saturday night. By 6 p.m., the restaurant was filled with a sizable waiting line outside. However, we did not feel rushed to order or finish our dinner quickly. For an appetizer, we split an order of Five-Star Thai dumplings, which consisted of chicken, shrimp and mushrooms, with a soy vinaigrette dipping sauce. We both ordered eggplant entrees -- one with ginger tofu and the second with a greatly toned down spicy Thai treatment, accompanied by brown rice and brown sticky rice (what a treat). We found the food to be very tasty, nice prepared and both had good portion sizes. The service was excellent; the food delivered quickly and hot; and the prices were very reasonable for New York City. Would not hesitate to dine there again!

So i ordered mild pad see ewe, i got fiery hot Pad See Ewe. Mouth on fire:( the crab rangoons are amazing though.

We out our faith in TA and it delivered. Excellent place - food is very good, not very expensive, the space is small, but very nice, good service. Fun cocktails. Some folks at nearby tables complained about the food being too spicy, but we did not feel that way. We'll definitely come back here again.

Delicious food, excellent service, perfect location. We enjoyed it so much that we had to come back the following evening. Great find.

So good!! My favorite restaurant in the city. Highly recommend to everyone who visits and always leave satisfied.

Unasuming place from the outside, delightful inside. Staff very attentive, tasy food, nice lunchtime special. Great ambience. Well located. Who would know from the front

This is a great find in the area! Food is excellent, true to the Thai cuisine (can be very spicy). Very nice modern room. The service is very friendly. Great value for money. Highly recommend it.

I had the green curry with seitan duck while my guest had the Thai basil with seitan duck. Both came with rice and were very tasty. My green curry was marked with an * which indicated spicy however there was no explanation on the menu for the * . I didn't find the food spicy enough. If you like your food hot, I suggest that you communicate that to your server. I would definitely go back.

The staff at Thai72 was nice, friendly, and accommodating for us with three adults and two littles ... 2 yrs and 8 months, both needing high chairs. The food was pretty good overall but not worth writing home about. They were willing to adjust spice levels on the dishes marked "spicy" on the menu, which was nice. They do not have pot-stickers, which was a little disappointment.
Top Quality at Reasonable Price
We started going to Thai 72 a few months ago and we love it. The food is interesting and well-prepared, the decor is very pleasant, and the staff is very thoughtful and helpful. It is a nice experience and the menu prices are not expensive.
