Fantastic lunch in beautiful surroundings!

By CarolRororo |

Everywhere, even the bathroom, is lovely at this place. Service was spot on and the food was delicious! We’ll definitely be back!

Great food, perfect location

Fresh, tasty and served within beautiful surroundings. Service was fast and friendly. The menu had all your Thai favorites. Busy but relaxed and perfect location. Good value for money

Nice Restaurant, good food

By Cecilia B |

First time visiting, after waiting for an hour and a half because the restaurant does not take reservations, we sat in this nicely decorated restaurant where we got a delicious meal worth the wait. We had appetizers which were fine but the main dishes were outstanding. Try the Masamun Curry which is a beef stew with potatoes , vegetables in a curry sauce with other Thai species, delicious!! The fried duck is tender and juicy also prepared with an special sauce, is not the typical duck you may have in Chinese restaurants, We accompanied it with a pork fried rice which was excellent. Service is very good and even though they had a lot of people waiting, we were not rushed out. I didn’t give them a 5 star because they don’t accept reservations.

Thai restaurant in New York

By SARA |

Traditional Thai cuisine in New York City. What strikes you at first glance is undoubtedly the atmosphere of the place, chaotic but at the same time elegant and refined. Unfortunately the place is small so expect tables very close together. The food is superb, nothing to say, all excellent and in perfect Thai style. They also have a wide menu of very particular American Thai style drinks that I absolutely recommend you try.

Good experience

By Prowander |

The food was excellent and the beer was super cold. The staff was relatively efficient. Prices are good, especially if items are shared. Be prepared for a wait as the place is super busy.

The food, the service, the decor was excellent

By Dee |

When you walk into the restaurant your jaw falls. The lighting fixtures are so stunning and they beautifully have decorated the entire space and that is just LOOKING at the place, the food is another story. It is equally jaw-dropping it's really well flavored. It's nice and light there's a great variety of things. Truly a great meal!

Sweet

By kamal w |

We went there for Dinner last night and were seated immediately and the Decor is beautiful but when it came to the food every item on the menu is Sweet Sweet and more sweet it lacks that authenticity of the Thai flavor , too sweet for our pallet.

Best Thai so far.

By Chang Y. |

The service was on point. Food was amazingly good. The decor was inviting. Definitely worth the try.

Great outdoor spot

By Veronica T |

This place had delicious food, very fast service, and nicely decorated outdoor seating with heat lamps! Great outdoor spot and looked cool inside as well.

Best curry I ever had

By Léna |

I went there to have lunch with a friend two times. The first time, I had the green curry and the second time, the red one. It was so good ! For lunch, they have a really nice option for 13-15$ with an appetizer and an entrée. The place is really beautiful and the waiters are really caring.

Great Thai Food

By majellamcgrory |

Beautiful setting, great food & drink. Would recommend making a reservation in advance as you cannot reserve a table same day. We had a 2 hr wait so went down the street to have a drink or two before. It’s honestly worth the wait!

Food and atmosphere are amazing!

By Anna W |

We stumbled on this place while wandering the streets after shopping at the Harry Potter store. We were extremely lucky to score a table without a reservation. The Agave with Dragon Tattoo drink is amazing! And the duck dish was as well.

Great food on time limit.

By Lars Beck |

Fantastic food! One of the best ever. Fast and great service. We had booked in advance, but You will sit on a 90 min limit at the table and they feel a bit stressed.

Amazing thai food

By CP&LJ's adventures |

So, we arrived around 2130 on Saturday 1st December. We were starving! The place looked tiny from outside and when we got in we were told it would be an hour wait. We waited and were finally seated. The restaurant is so big and decorated beautifully. We had calamari to start and it was delicious. 2x red curries for the main and they were amazing. Could have been a little spicier but the flavour was so fresh and the portions were very big. This is a beautiful restaurant with lovely staff and excellent food

Everything was good!!

By Nico01113 |

Really very good, very authentic Thaifood for a very good price! Nice location! Great service! We went there twice and would even have gone more often, if we had found it earlier during our trip!

Great food and great atmosphere!

By Linda M |

My brother took us here as he has been many times and loves it! The curry puffs were incredible and so was the rest of our food. The service was great and the interior was beautifully decorated. We were able to get on the waitlist an hour prior so that we didn’t have to wait when we arrived.

Great Thai food with an ambiance you can't beat!

By BruceSF40 |

Thai food here is excellent. Tom Yum fried rice was exceptional as well as the curries being above par. The interior design was fabulous. Service was great. Great value considering all!!! Can't wait to go back!

Best thai restaurant

By Jay S |

This is my favorite thai restaurants in the city. The food is consistently incredible (at the restaurant and over delivery services)

Gorgeous setting, Amazing food

By EmmaM2112 |

Our favourite meal whilst in NYC! The food was incredible, portions generous, and the staff were so attentive. The waitress repeatedly topped up our water and asked if we needed anything else to drink. The food was simply delicious. And the restaurant was gorgeous - very well presented. Highly recommended.

Simply Amazing!

By Juandiego1975 |

An Asian caravan of flavors. Each dish was more surprising than the the last one. An explosion of spices and juices. A real unforgettable experience. Be there early it gets packed quickly but it is worth it. Try the chicken appetizer that comes like fried inside a leaf, the royal pad Thai ....yummmmmm

Excellent Thai Restaurant in NY

By Rafael B |

I loved the place. It is romantic, beautiful, the decoration is amazing, the service is friendly, but...be prepared. It is a very requested place and there is always a line, so you will probably wait a good while. But it is worth the patience. Portions are generous, tasty, spicy and the prices are within the normality. Super recommended.

Delicious Food in a Charming Restaurant

By Hummus |

This restaurant has such a charming interior and is very aesthetically pleasing. The food was delicious and flavorful. When we arrived the staff gave us a sample of their soup which also tasted delightful. You must make a reservation for this place as it is small and gets quite busy.

Customer service

By Samantha |

Totally disgusted. I called and they said they had tables. As soon as they saw my husband in a wheelchair they said it was going to be a 45 minute wait. What a coincidence!

A Thai Village feel on East 19th Street. Surprise!

By george g |

Decorated beautifully this place transforms you very quickly from being on east 19th street to somewhere much-more exotic. Their entire operation runs very smoothly, and imposing an all-parties present rule to be seated is fair to both the patron and the business. The appetizers were great, whereas the entrees were not as great. They were very good though. Service was excellent and everybody eating seemed to be enjoying themselves. I will return!

Dinner in November

By Dominik 🇨🇭 |

We were in New York for my birthday and decided to go to the Thai Villa that evening, which was definitely not a mistake. We reserved online in advance and were then asked to confirm 1-2 times. The restaurant was completely full on Monday evening. However, the drinks and food came very quickly. The food, ambience and staff were great - compared to the majority of fast food restaurants. Thank you for the great evening!!

Great fresh food

By Deb W |

This is the second time I've enjoyed an excelled meal at Thai Villa. Be sure to book your table in advance as they are very popular. The prices are reasonable and the food is excellent.

Excellent Thai Restaurant

By Barbara |

I'm so glad I discovered Thai Villa recently. The food was delicious and the service was great. They have a very broad menu and a full bar. The outdoor space is Covid-safe as is the indoors (plexi between tables). The decor inside is beautiful. Highly recommend!

Great Thai food

By Raffael M |

We had a great experience at Thai Villa! One of the best Thai food we have ate. My wife and I ordered the green curry with chicken and panang curry with beef. If you like spicy dishes this is a good choice

A Grand Thai Experience

By orion7be |

The reviews were very good, and they were right. The service was exceptional: attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. The food was excellent. My companions had Pad Thai, which they said was the best they'd ever had. My massamun curry was flavorful, with a generous portion of mock duck. The food came out fast and piping hot, each course timed perfectly. Dishes were removed quickly. All in all, a superb meal in warm and welcoming surroundings. We’ll definitely go back next time we’re in Chelsea.

The best Thai food we have ever had

By andrewgZ7874LD |

We booked the restaurant online prior to leaving the UK because we love Thai food and wanted somewhere special but reasonably priced for my wife's 50th birthday. When we arrived customers were queueing out of the door so a reservation is essential. The food & service was excellent but it was very busy & noisy which meant that it wasn't quite the relaxed atmosphere we had expected. The food was served very quickly and we felt a little rushed due to it being very popular and wanting tables turned round quickly.

Tasty Thai Cuisine

By seanworc |

Had dinner at Thai Villa last night. Nice, packed room. Very expansive menu. Often you pick the protein and then the Thai style of preparation. Food was yummy. Hard to order wrong here . Some dishes are spicy such as the Tom Tom rice. Located on the edge of Gramercy Park and Flatiron. Easy access by train or Uber.

Disappointing

By naman |

I would not recommend Thai Villa based on my recent experience. Despite hearing a lot of buzz and seeing attractive photos online, the reality did not live up to expectations. The space felt extremely cramped and uncomfortably hot, especially where we were seated—at a table on the upper level that lacked both comfort and ambiance. The food itself was underwhelming and did not justify the hype. Overall, the atmosphere gave off more of a “tourist trap” vibe than that of a genuine, high-quality dining experience. If you’re looking for authentic and satisfying Thai food in NYC, I’d highly recommend Pure Thai Cookhouse instead—fantastic flavors, much better atmosphere, and far more enjoyable overall. Unfortunately, our visit to Thai Villa left us disappointed and unlikely to return.

Birthday dinner

By Prem |

Could have been better , one the glass they brought out for sparkling water was dirty ,water was till served , server took it back after and returned with an empty glass . They should have either brought out a new bottle or taken the sparkling off the check . Food was ok . Was there on a recommendation, ambience was good . Waitstaff was nice .

Excellent food and service but having wrong price on the menu

By Esther Struif |

Wonderful restaurant's layout. Great food and great service. The drink Mango Sunrise is amazing. Larb Ped is super delicious but wish could be more spicy. Only thing I made me deduct one star from them because there is a price mistake in the menu. Larb Ped is supported to be $19 but they charge me $26. I thought I probably remembered the wrong price so I paid without asking the servers. Then before I left I took one take out menu to see. It turned out that Larb Ped is really $19. So I asked one of the worker in the front about this issues they said yum ped yang is $19 but larb ped is $26 on the restaurant menu. I was a little confused because it was clearly said Larb Ped. But since I don't have that much time so I didn't bother to figure out the real price anymore then I saw the photo menu on the YELP, it is $19. ( I attached the photo to let you see). So I was right. Even though it probably misunderstanding and minor issues, this situation kind of make my first experience at this restaurant not 100 happy. I wish they can fixed the price on the menu because I don't mind paying $26 for Larb Ped since it worth and delicious but I bother me when the price is not the same as in the menu. Anyway I will go back to this restaurant again because overall experience was great.

Definitely not an Americanized Thai restaurant

By GerryBaron06 |

When I look at the menu, I was struck by how few of the items were familiar to me. I did not see the usual curries and Pad dishes. This appealed to me because it meant I could try something new. I had the Larb Ped which is Thai Duck Salad. It was absolutely delicious. To go along with the meal, I had the Thai Tea Lemonade. The drink tasted great although it was a bit sweet for my taste.

Tremendous Thai

By DannyBoy20 |

Absolutely outstanding Thai food. You can also eat outside. Very efficient friendly helpful staff. Make sure you book as it was really busy. Good size portions and delicious food. One of the best Thai restaurants I have been to

Honest Review

By LAL |

Beautiful atmosphere, well crafted cocktails and good service. However, I was slightly disappointed with the pricing on their menu and the quality of the food. The meat we got had a lot of fat on it and was not soft or tender. The salads on their menu were also very basic. Nonetheless, not a terrible experience, but I do not see the over hype about it.

Golden ambience at Thai Villa

By kbyam5 |

In from out of town. Made reservations a month a go. WELL WORTH IT! The servers were so friendly and the food was delicious. It was freezing outside but the food and ambience was so warm and inviting!

Great Unique Thai food

By Ed K |

If you're into adventuresome, true cuisine, this place is for you. We've loved complex Thai food for years, but we've had things here we've never seen anywhere else. And the service is as great as the food.

Love this place for thai food in NYC

By Daniela |

This is a wonderful place if you’re craving for some thai. I recommend especially green curry and broad noodles. Just be careful with adding more spicy flavors. Be sure not to miss this place!

Exceptional NYC find

By Debi S |

The food and drinks here are incredible! The beautiful ambience makes for an exceptional dining experience. The menu is pretty unique and I branched out from the typical Thai restaurant orders with zero regrets. I got a seat quickly at the bar and the bartender, Best, was super friendly and very helpful with some recommendations. For how busy the restaurant was, he made my night by being super attentive and offering great explanations of the non-traditional Thai menu options. The presentation of everything was exquisite. I absolutely loved the pad Thai and everything else I ate. I so wish I could bring all this food back home with me. This will definitely be one of my NYC faves for my next trip. Absolutely worth a visit.

What a find!!!

By Brian P |

I literally work a few blocks away from here and probably walk past this place daily w/o every noticing. It has a very non-descript facade. I only stumbled upon it running a search for Thai around UnSq to meet up with a friend and are we lucky I found this. Once you enter it has very high ceilings with dark woods, brick, and gold with their lighting fixtures. Huge overhead lighting that look like gold leaves cover the ceiling and it is both beautiful & chic. There is a bar towards the front then a long restaurant with 2 mezzanine seating areas. We were seated in the back mezz which was very warm & cozy. We were greeted by lovely, friendly hostesses at the door and the same attention from the waitress. There is a full drink menu with wine, beer, & specialty drinks. We ordered specialty cocktails which were delicious. There is an even larger food menu with 3 sections to choose from. We ordered the duck salad & calamari to start with which were perfectly presented & cooked. We then split the sea bass with a yummy coconut milk as our entree. It was perfectly done, flavorful, & delicious. The entire experience was FANTASTIC! I HIGHLY recommend a chic, elegant, & flavorful dining experience here!

Amazing

By Demi |

Decided to visit here after discovering the good reviews on trip advisor and it did not disappoint. The food was fantastic and the service was brilliant, our waiter Best was very knowledgable and passionate about the dishes. Will definitely return when i visit New York again.

My new favorite Thai place in New York

By Tim M |

Living in Vegas I often find myself going to only Lotus of Siam when I want Thai, but I didn't really have an equivalent restaurant when I come to NYC to visit family...until now. The food is authentic, and the service is top notch. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a top quality Thai dinner. Fun fact: This restaurant was in Aziz Ansari's "Master of None." It was in the episode about eating pork. No. I didn't try any pork dishes.

Great Thai!

By Cristina V |

Amazing thai food, the Royal Pad Thai is to die for, the tamarind shrimp are great and the shrimp curry appetizers are delicious! Friendly service. Will go back again when in New York.

Tasty beautiful and affordable

By Ana K |

Amazing dinner with my husband. What a beautiful place. THe staf is amazing and the food perfect ! We were craving for thai curry and it was a delight. We would need to go back to taste the chef specialties !

Amazing food!

By Roberto |

The food was amazing and service was totally on top. They have three sections in the menu, the more 'known' Thai food you can find in any Thai place; middle section with authentic Thai food and some chef creation Royal pad Thai was one of the best foods I've tried in the US ! 5 stars ! PS the decoration and ambience was great too

Best curry puffs ever

By Michael0909 |

Attentive staff, great atmosphere, and the best curry puffs I've ever had. The noodle dish I got was also excellent. Reasonable prices.

Royal Thai

By Rich J |

“Royal Thai” it’s called and boy is it good. Unique presentations; and menu items I’ve never encountered (such as the Cornish hen dish I ordered). Can’t wait to return.

Delicious dishes with great service and nice decor

By AmanJunkieBoston |

I will say that not all the dishes were amazing but several were excellent and the presentation was fabulous. The service was exceptionally attentive and the decor was Asian and nice. It can get quite busy so plan accordingly. The dishes that we loved were the larb, the chicken wrapped in pandan leaves, and the Tom yum goong.

Good service and delicious food

By forrumako |

Pad Thai is delicious. For me it quite sweet but you can add some pepper and it good!! For lunch hour, they have 2 appetizers for 1 dish!! The price is adorable !!!

Good Thai restaurant on 19th and broadway

By seema60 |

We went to this restaurant based on recommendations. We ordered the classic Green thai curry with pork, basil fried rice with beef, pad thai with chicken and salmon puffs for appetizers. I found the meat in the dishes was not tender. The food was tasty and the service was very good

Must-try Thai!

By WindsorTudor |

Gorgeous interior decor—You feel as if you’re at a temple in Thailand. Surprisingly varied menu in terms of entrees, all of which are reasonably priced. Excellent service as well. Originally recommended by a friend, & I can see why—s superb choice all around!

Great Food and Decor

By Norman W |

The food here is great and sutlly spice yo perfection and it is served very attractively. The service is excellent.

great food, friendly staff

By Sabine I |

Thai Villa took us to Thailand in spirit - the decoration and the food gave us a feeling of being there. The suggestions of our waiter were excellent, everything was delicious and the taste of each dish distinctive. The only dish we would not order again is the fried angel hair, which our youngest wanted to try as he loves angel hair pasta. It did not fulfill his expectations, being sweet and very crunchy/sticky. We can definitely recommend Thai Villa for families and smaller groups. The food was enough even while ordering one less dish than we were people.

Excellent Thai food!

By NewYorkerinUAE |

Excellent food. Decor was great and service very good. Highly recommend! We loved the noodles and curry. Also the dumplings and wings were great.

Friends, clients, lunch or dinner can’t go wrong

By tagalong_dragalong |

Favorite place for lunch for @tagalong_dragalong! Quick service, pre-fix lunch menu or order a la carte — can’t go wrong. Lunch special - appetizer, soup/salad and entree. I usually get the red curry with crispy duck and add extra shrimp. Enough for lunch with leftovers for another day. Perfect for business lunch or celebration with girlfriends.

Good, interesting food make this place popular

By Mark B |

Busy and popular place for a good reason — good, interesting food. The food we had was all served with additional style and attention — it looked good and was arranged nicely. The sticky rice came wrapped in a leaf — this isn’t the only place to do this, but it was nice and added to the presentation. The shrimp were so large they could have gone one-on-one with Godzilla. My tip for this place: try something off the specials menu, don’t just go for a plain pad-Thai here, it would be a waste of a good-food opportunity.

10/10

By Anna F |

Absolutely outstanding food ... the best Thai food I think I’ve ever had . Best authentic food , Pad Thai was absolutely out of this world ... 10/10 highly recommended

Delicious Thai food with amazing ambience

By Khoi N |

This has to be my favorite Thai experience all year. When you walk in you see high ceilings with decor hanging. Theres an upstairs balcony and the interior ambience was just beautiful. I spent a couple of minutes just taking all of the views in. My friends and I stopped by for an early lunch on a rainy Sunday and it was packed. Luckily, we made reservations prior and didn't have to wait. We ordered everything from the the shrimp Tom Yum soup, beef pad see ew, Pak Mor Puk, chicken satay skewers and the duck red curry. All of the appetizers were delicious. Highly recommend ordering the blue dumplings and skewers. The dumplings had a light rice crept texture and the addition of mushrooms, bamboo shoots, cabbage were just perfect. The skewers weren't dry and I loved the peanut sauce and other cucumber sauce they gave us. The red curry packed some heat. It wasn't too hot and recommended by our server. The duck was cooked perfectly and the combination of the curry with rice was delicious. My friends and I really enjoyed our experience here. We got seated with the special covering. The ambience, food and service were amazing. Between the 3 of us we really wanted to try other dishes, but left stuffed and happy with everything that we ordered. Definitely recommend making reservations in advance.

Thai Jewel of Manhattan!!!

By youngcats |

An excellent restaurant with a decorative interior structured with vintage wood carving panels dividing the seating into sections. Against one wall is a row of gazebos side by side catered to small groups; center and the other side of the restaurant are furnished with 2 seating tables. It also has an upper section could be used for larger private party. The ceiling track lights weaved in between metallic leaves created a soft and warm ambiance to the place. Food is made of good quality, presentation is exquisite, and the taste is very palatable. The service provided by our waiter is also exceptional.

Best meal we had in Manhattan

By Karen |

Absolutely delicious meal tonight, our last night in NY! Pad Thai and Marinated pork with bok choy and sticky coconut rice. YUM

Beautiful decor

By poonamallee |

The decor is beautiful and unique. That is saying a lot for Manhattan/NYC. And the food is pretty good too. Three of us went for an early lunch and we got a table with no waiting or reservation, but we could see it getting super crowded as we were eating. Service is good. They are sweet and friendly. While the regular favorites such as Pad Thai are available, the attraction of the place is that they have specialty dishes from the Thai Royal cuisine, which are fun and different from the street food that we are all used to. I enjoyed their eggplant basil and yellow curry. My son loved the chicken wings and the chicken pandan leaves. It is a bit pricey, the wait can be long if you don't have reservations, and the food is good if not great. But the experience is worthwhile.

Great pad Thai!

By RB |

I really enjoyed my visit at Thai Villa. We had amazing cocktails and the service was great. The ambiance is very charming, and the food does a great job. The chicken pad Thai was particularly amazing, and has become a recurrent craving!

In mixed minds

By Martin K |

First of all the place looks great. Nice atmosphere. Easy with young children (7&8). Waiters are good at pay attention. The food is a bit of luck. My standard Pad Thai was nice, well prepared and luke(!) warm. Children had a fried rice - fairly good. My wife had a Thai beef Curry - that was really poor. It arrived refrigerator cold - they must have forgotten to heat it completely - which is beyond me, as the plate was freezing and the wait could have noticed. Apart from that it wasn't a very good dish either. Altogether I would give the place another try -again the atmosphere is very nice, by I can't follow the hype some people make of it - it is not something highly extraordinary. A nice place, if they fix the food temperature issues.

Great food and great service

By Deb W |

We made reservations and had a wonderful dinner. There were 5 in my group and we ordered a wide variety from the menu. Everything was well prepared and the flavors were yummy. The staff was very attentive and took excellent care of us.

Great Dishes

By Lioness81 |

Being a lover of all things Thai food, I was excited to try this restaurant & it did not disappoint. The food, service & decor were all on point. They are a bit pricey but well worth it. I had the red curry with shrimp & received a generous serving of shrimp.

Busy. Great ambiance. Good quality Thai food.

By TangoNY |

Very busy place. Even on Wednesday lunch time. The food is very good but I think I have eaten a better Thai. The drinking are very delicious. We had Mango Sunrise and a blue Thai tea that I have never had before. Pad Thai was so so. The salads are better. Very good ambiance. Overall, a very good Thai place. But not the very best I think.

Thai Villa - Excellent

By Traveler10 |

Thai Villa is an excellent restaurant. The food was very good. Received a complimentary cup of butternut squash soup, absolutely devine. Coconut Soup and Royal Pad Thai. Wonderful!

Food poisoning

By saaaraahss |

It was a long wait but we expected it and it was ok , we ordered drinks and enjoyed while waiting. The decoration was on point specially in first floor . The food was delicious and the service and wait staff were great . The only point was that some of us who tried Shrimp Redcurry got food poisoning. This part was very unexpexted and disappointing . We had this thai food before several times but this was the first time here.

Wow what a great experience.

By trainwreck_va |

Very busy place if you can get reservations or call a head seating is well worth it. We got there about 9:30 PM on a Saturday night wait was about 45 minutes. The hostess allowed us to order drinks from the bar which the Thai Ice Tea and White Orchard drink were excellent. We ordered the Red Curry (medium spice) careful it was slightly spicier that what we were used to in Virginia. We also had Pad Krapraw w/chicken and Royal Pad Thai just wow excellent favors and presentation. Service and overall experience was just awesome. Highly recommend this spot if you are NYC.

dinner

By galnet0707 |

my friend and i had our dinner here. we ordered the thai fried rice and royal pad thai with prawns. the food was nice including the ambiance. the service was very prompt and staff were very polite. if people wants to have a break from fries, steaks and breads, thai villa is one to consider.

Excellent Thai

By Andres A |

Beautiful restaurant with amazing interiors. The food here is top notch. Fresh and flavorful. Nicely done satay and the dumplings. Green curry and the basil fried rice was excellent. Loved the lychee mojito. Very reasonably priced.

Just Delicious

By Beth S |

First day in the city, this is where my son took us. He has eaten there many times and didn’t want us to miss it. We ate at the bar because of well over an hour wait. Be prepared! But the bar was awesome. The bartenders friendly and attentive. Made great cocktails. I ordered a branzino dish, served beautifully over bok choy and topped with a spicy chili sauce. Would order that again. Very nice atmosphere. Two thumbs up.

Best Thai in NYC - visited

By plmccall |

Best Thai in NYC - visited with 2 other coworkers for a casual meal. Recommend by someone who had been there before. Shared a couple appetizers (spring rolls and curry puffs) both amazing. I hate the mango and prawn salad for dinner with a side of coconut sticky rice - they don’t go together but needed to try the rice! Both were incredible. The salad has a nice spice kick to it not usually found in a salad. Not overbearing however. Decor of the place is fantastic. You feel like you traveled somewhere other than Manhattan! I’ll be back next time I’m in NYC.

Amazing Thai Food

By Raffael M |

Amazing restaurant. I went to Thai Villa on Nov 2019 with my wife, my daughter and my mom. The food was delicious. We all ordered curry plates. My wife and I ordered a Red Curry and my mom a Massamun Curry ( less spicy than others). I loved. The best Thai Restaurant I ever been. Be aware that the plates are spicy ( as commonly in thai food). Other suggestion is to be aware of the waiting list from the website, since there is no reservations.

Awesome Thai, possibly our new fave in NYC!

By stingley23 |

They just built out a super nice outdoor seating area which is very comfortable. The servers were very attentive and nice and the food..rocked! We thoroughly enjoyed the crispy veggie spring rolls, chicken satay, the INCREDIBLE tom kha gai soup, and the chicken pad thai. All authentic and deelish, and opposed to what some others have reviewed we though also a great value to boot. Go!

Good Choice

By honestinIdaho |

The food is good. The atmosphere is really cool (inside) and there is more seating inside than you would think (an upstairs). We were happy we picked this place for lunch. Everyone was satisfied with their dish and their lunch specials were good amount of food for the price. Service was good. No complaints. Neat atmosphere, decorated well, would also be a nice atmosphere for meetings friends for a drink after work.

Great place and great Thai food in NYC

By nepalgorkha |

Very cool vibes and great ambience. Service was super efficient and the food was overall very satisfying. The spring rolls were OK and the vegetarian dumplings were average, but the red curry and the penang curry with the drunken noodles were amazing. A special shout out to the chocolate lava cake which we enjoyed so much that we had to order another portion to truly satisfy our palates.

Fabulous Thai Food

By Annie Nickson |

Thank you for finding a table for two rain-soaked, jetlagged English gals. We were shattered, but your kindness, great service and delicious food gave us a boost, and helped us to regain energy and have a great sleep! Thank you!

Great food and decor, but you may have to wait

By Mary D |

Went for dinner on a Saturday night. They weren't taking reservations so when we were arrived we were told it would be 1 1/2 hour wait. We went for coffee and came back to be told it would be an extra 30 minutes. The staff were friendly and the food was excellent. There was a great choice of starters and mains. I would certainly go again.

Dinner with friends

By Alisha A |

We went for dinner with 5 people. We had reservations so we were seated immediately. I strongly suggest reservations! Wine was average, the appetizers were good (curry puffs were good) papaya salad lacked overall flavor, but the entrees were good. We shared family style. I thought the service could have been slightly more genuine, but considering how busy they were, I understand what they are doing is working for them!

Excellent Thai

By Stefano E |

Great authentic and delicious Thai. Generous quantities. Good ingredients. Curries and delicious. Seating a bit too narrow, unless in a box. Good value for money.

Great Thai food!

By RahulMD |

This place has wonderful Thai food and some of the best we have had outside of Thailand. The service was really fast and the food was great. I would recommend the green curry, mussels, and chicken satay. We only wish the portions were bigger. Ok the weekends they don’t take reservations and it’s first come first serve. We ended up waiting 90 minutes last night, but it was well worth the wait.

Pad Thai is excellent! I had

By tml8882 |

Pad Thai is excellent! I had the chicken Pad Thai & Tom Yum Soup & both were really really good. Glad I found this place :)

Go to for delicious and authentic Thai food.

By Sandra |

I absolutely LOVE Thai Villa! Beautiful decor, delightful hostesses, and food to die for. The menu was pretty extensive but since they had a lunch special I stuck with that.Everything is delicious and not too spicy. From now on when in NYC definitely my go to for delicious and authentic Thai food.

Beautiful place and great food.

By Kissha S |

What a wonderful experience we had here! The service and the food were fantastic. The restaurant is decorated beautifully. This was by far my favourite restaurant this trip. Don’t miss this gem.

FABULOUS THAI FOOD

We had been looking forward to this all week and it did not disappoint. Firstly, the atmosphere and decor were very cool and aesthetically pleasing! The food was terrific and full of flavour and the drinks were great and very strong! I highly recommend this restaurant.

So Worth the Wait

By Ginny P |

Be sure to put in a reservation early in the evening, and then have something to do while waiting for your table. It will easily be an hour wait. We did some neighborhood shopping and when the text came, we made our way as quickly as possible. The food is outstanding and the servers are superb. They offer great advice for novice Thai eaters, like myself. There was plenty of choice, if you like it spicy or not (me). I settled on the Royal Pad Thai. SO AMAZING... Restrooms were very clean. Decor is amazing and worth a visit just to look at the light designs and wooden wall details.

Fantastic Thai

By orangelollypops |

Local friends took us here for dinner. They made a reservation because the last time we were in town there was a 2 hour wait. Interior is beautiful.service was fantastic. Everything we ordered was delicious. The noodles in my pad see ew were obviously home made and so tender. Dumplings and curry puffs great also. Definitely worth a visit.

Scrumptious Thai cuisine serving old faves and unique dishes alike

By jaauoc |

The subtle yet delicious flavors of the dishes served were incredible and the presentation was impressive. The service was impeccable and we didn't have to wait long for our meal, which did have one negative side -- each dish came out warm, not hot. It was the only disappointment for an otherwise fine meal. I recommend going early because the lines to enter grew quickly.

Good Thai Food

By LoriM0719 |

Visited for lunch. No waiting for our party of two even though it was packed. Nice large menu and special lunch prices. A few gluten free options. I had massaman chicken curry, edamame, and salad. Very tasty. Great service. Pretty decor. Glad we went.

A perfect place for any occasion

By Adriana O |

I love Thai food is one of my favorite foods ! I came to this restaurant with my family, form the entrance an the waiting time the people were very polite and friendly . Soon after they give us a table in the second floor. The service was amazing, the flavor of everything was delicious!! My favorite food in the city!!

Real Thai flavors but a little racket

By DocFabrict |

Picturesque location, well thought out. Perhaps too crowded, the tables are really very close to each other and there is no privacy. The worst flaw is the acoustics of the place, there is a lot of noise and it is almost difficult to talk to your diners. The food is amazing though! An explosion of flavors that only Thai cuisine can give, well combined, distinguishable, not at all improvised. We ate very well, it really reminded us of the flavors and smells discovered in Thailand. Great Service, super honest prices considering the very plentiful portions and the fact of being in a city like New York. If you could improve the acoustics, the overall experience would be from 9!

Best Thai in NYC !!

By Luxury Global Reviews |

Best Thai and Thai Service in NYC. This is one of the best Thai restaurants in New York. Not only is the food fabulous the service is incredible. Everyone is treated like an absolute VIP.

1000% worth it!

By Emily G |

I had found this restaurant prior to our trip from the UK to NYC and knew I needed to go - we went in 2 days prior and tried to book for the Friday night but the restaurant did not take bookings. We went back on the Friday and waited an hour for our table which we agreed to on arrival and spent our waiting time admiring the restaurant atmosphere with a drink from verrrry special members of staff who made the whole experience wonderful. We arrived at our table in the beautifully presented restaurant and were again greeted by fabulous waiters, we ordered our food with super quick service and (as lovers of Thai food) have never experienced food like it! Wow! Chicken satay, pad Thai and massaman curry were all AMAZING! ... if only we had another night in NYC, we would have went back again. Thank you very much for a lovely meal, 1000% worth the waiting time!

Incredible restaurant

By GrandTour685487 |

Incredible from start to finish. Great welcome, great food (lunch special menu) and such lovely staff. Fantastic price too. You won’t regret going! Vegan, vegetarian and gluten free all accommodated for in our party.

everyone was instagramming the food :-)

By MrsVLondon |

We came here during a week in NYC as we are both fans of Master of None and remembered how beautiful Thai Villa looked when it was used during the series. Thank goodness we had made a reservation; there were people being turned away left right and centre and even those who had booked had to wait. We didn't wait too long - once inside the main area its truly beautiful the decor and atmosphere. Our server was exceptionally friendly and helpful. She guided us through the menu and told us which were the most popular dishes. The food arrived quick and yes there is definitely a feel they want you in and out as soon as politely possible but it was somehow all part of the experience and it didn't feel unfriendly. We had the special pad thai, delicious, and a duck special, and some sort of salmon dumpling cake thing to start - fab. Atmospherically we were some of the oldest people there (I'm in my 40s) and literally the diners on both sides of us were 'gramming their food - we felt so old! For me the food surpassed my expectations and is worth the hype/buzz. A great NYC experience for us oldies.

Wow - nice place and great food!

By MiMeGo |

We have been here for dinner. Place was absolutely full (no reservation possible). Luckily, we could have dinner at the bar. It was a great place, nice atmosphere and the food was just absolutely delicious. Speedy service and very friendly waiter at the bar. We will for sure return here.

Beautiful restaurant with delicious food.

By L Tran |

We went here for lunch and were completely satisfied. All dishes we ordered were delicious. The ambience was nice, and staff were helpful. I highly recommend this place.

It's where the locals eat

By Tanya T |

We found this little gem on Trip Advisor and the reviews didn't disappoint. I ordered the phad thai based on a review on here and it was everything they promised and more. Great food. Beautiful, beautiful decor, fantastic waiters with the kind of service you rarely see... ours was quick to use a napkin to pick up any food scraps in between courses. One cautionary note. I chose two meals based on the waiters recommendation and one from the phad thai review on here. One of the waiter's picks was not to my liking at all (see pic of coconut with garnish) and the other was so-so.... so choose what you know you like!!! Can't wait to try more next visit!!

My Favorite Thai in NYC!

By lindsey c |

I've tried several Thai restaurants in NY, and finally found my favorite. The food is sooo good. the next day, my friend and I debated going back for more, because we loved it so much. Not only is the food amazing, the decor is insane. It's literally a perfect place for a good dinner night. I would recommend calling in for reservations, we had to wait a while to get in, but it was so worth it.

Delightful meals in a nice decor place!

By NoraExplorer |

First, they don't take reservations (maybe for two only). Second, when you walk in, all parties must be present in order to get the table, otherwise you have to wait, no matter how hungry you are. So yes if one of your parties is late, blame him/her! My friend introduced this place to me so I decided to join her for dinner when she said let's go here. Unfortunately, she was late, so I was feeling hungry for almost 45 mins with the food aroma and all the delicious smells in the background, I thought I would kill myself. We had a nice Asian male waiter. He was pretty busy handling many tables but he didn't forget us. We both ordered appetizers, mussels and steamed vegetable dumpling. My dumpling was in purple!!! How cool is that? I was looking at purple dumpling while eating it. The mussels plate was the best! Then we both had the green curry but my friend had it with vegetables and I had it with shrimp. I liked my dishes but the green curry wasn't very authentic. It was very good. We both enjoyed the drinks too. They got plenty on the menu, colors, non-colors, all kind of crazy names that I can't remember. Overall the mussels moved me! Order this for the sake of humanity! The place is beautiful from the entrance to the back, and upstairs looks great as well. Would I be back? Sure! Maybe I'll try something different next time. My friend said she ordered the red curry before and that was so much better than the green curry. So, let's see!

Stick with your Favorite Dish

By coachbunch |

They have 3 different menu options: Normal American- style Thai, authentic dishes and the Chef’s specialties. So the temptation is to branch out. Personally, I would rather not gamble on food though. I loved the ambiance although the tables for two are snug. I love curries and Panang is my all-time favorite. Should have ordered that. But we were in NYC, so I decided to get fancy. They delivered! Presentation was on point and the Pad Thai was probably good if that is your dish. My wife got the red curry chicken - medium spicy. Even at medium, the heat built up and was plenty for us. I loved her dish. So did she, so there was not much to share 😂 If you are adventurous, they have several options for you. If you want a sure thing, stick with what you love. Take care with the spice level - normal could be hot. We got there early for dinner and were seated right away for a party of 2. Place was packed when we left so it is popular.

Delicious and Authentic Thai food

Great place , beautiful and attentive staff and awesome authentic Thai food . Our waitress Shampur knows how to please the customers ask for her . Drinks are just delicious . Try lychee Martini

Great thai!

By jennyjtourofEU |

While in NYC for the weekend, my husband and I came here for dinner. We did not make a reservation and were told there was an hour wait. But when we mentioned we could sit at the bar, we were seated immediately. The food was amazing..loved the pad Thai! Decor is very nice, intimate and clean. Waitstaff professional, fast and friendly. Great thai at a reasonable price, will definitely return next time we are in NYC!

Thai Villa 🙌🏻

By Otero28 |

As always... it's a guarantee of Thai food. I'd say regular dunplings throwing good ones, a Pad Thai beef with exaggeratedly good squid, and a rice with shrimp. The place quite nice, very aesthetic. Don't go if you don't have a reservation or unless you're willing to wait 1:30 more less... highly recommended.

Good food and service

By Stu C |

Our son picked this place for dinner and it was really good. Don't remember everything we had, but we all enjoyed our meals. The service was good, and the prices, well, it's NYC, so be prepared. Overall, a good meal.

Outstanding, a Thai gem in NYC

By atulsubbiah |

Outstanding. Food was excellent, so was the service. It’s busy, but didn’t feel rushed. The decor was a welcome vibe to the place, very Asian inspired furniture. This goes on our go-to places in the city.

Festive Thai

By Adam |

I would have never thought of a Thai restaurant as upscale and fun, but this one did it for me. Great seasoning on my short rib with crisp green beans and some coconut milk to curb the spice fire. Very fun design inside and at a reasonable price for NYC.

Wowed me

By IsaTrava |

Packed for lunch on a Wednesday while people waited outside. Beautifully decorated. Flawless Pad Thai. Excellent service. Fast. Exquisite. So cheap it was unbelievable. $15 for a delectable meal? Yes, please.

Food pricey and average quality, bad attitude is oversized

By Rubberducky6868 |

Food is above average for what is Thai cuisine adapted to American palate, although a bit pricey for an Asian restaurant even for New York City standard. But customer service and attitude need a lot of work to put it mildly. First off, as soon as they sit you down they give you a stern warning: "only 1.5 hours to complete your meal ok?" Please tell me, have you seen any nice, upscale restaurant that slams you with the "eat quick or else" warning as soon you sit down? Even the most busy, no-nonsense Chinese restaurant would not do that. They just bring you the check as soon as the last dish is served. No customer with a bit of decency would linger in a busy restaurant long after the meal is consumed and the check is brought. This is not a buffet, why would any one stay longer than they need to? Then the restaurant charged us 20% service tip, directly included in the check. I would have tipped 20% or more these days anyway, but it's just annoying to see they do that. When I asked, they said 20% of tip would automatically added to party of five. Fair enough, even though most of Manhattan food establishments do not do that (I have had checks that ran up to 600$ or more and many restaurant still let me add the tips separately.) My questions is why Thai Villa do not put that warning anywhere that we can read first and be sure we are treated fairly. It's not on the menu, not on the table, not from the mouth of the host who was so quick to warn us about 1.5 hours time limit. I would not recommend that restaurant with that kind of service. No customer for you! Next!

Amazing and delicious!

By Denise C |

Saw an ad for this in TS, so made a point to go. Reservations recommended, but it was a Monday late lunch, so we could have easily gotten in. I was originally planning to get something I hadn't had before, but the server recommended the royal pad thai and the duck egg rolls. We also got the crab fried rice. Got both, and wow, so impressed. Presentation was beautiful as you can see, but the flavors were out of this world! Delicious, lots of flavors mixing, and there was no shortage of prawns in the pad thai, as well as crab for the fried rice. Servers were helpful and courteous, even when I tried to use my beginner Thai language skills. Overall, 100% recommend. It isn't cheap, but you definitely get what you pay for. (Also, it's NYC, so nothing is cheap.)

Excellent

Had lunch at the bar here. Place is packed and lively. Upscale. Excellent food and good service. This place is definitely worth checking out if you like Thai food.

So Good and So Much Like Being in Thailand

By TWinUSA |

I lived in Thailand for a number of years before returning to the USA. Honestly, finding a true Thai cuisine restaurant has been until today, very disappointing. While many I have tried claim to be Thai, quite frankly they are not really. Most not even close to real Thai food, which is a wonderful cuisine. Well Thai Villas is the best I have had outside Thailand and I felt like I was eating back in Thailand it was that good! Mind you the wait of an hour for a rather late lunch (weekday) should have provided a hint, but it was so worth the wait! Delicious real Thai food and Thai hospitality. Wonderful setting as well. My only disappointment was in the drink selection (not referring to drinks from the bar). Everything else was wonderful and as I remember when Thailand was home. Just superb. Great menu with lots of choices. Loved it and will be back for sure. You can make a reservation but do so days or weeks in advance--yes it's that busy. Has every reason to be that busy too!

Great food of Thailand

By Nguyễn Việt Trung |

Beautiful views, great food and drinks. Reservations are advised as you cannot book the same day. We waited for 2 hours, so we went down to the street to drink a glass or two before. It is really worth the wait!

Dramatic atmosphere and uneven food

By Amit_and_Alex |

The atmosphere is modern and sophisticated. The tables along the walls are framed by carved dark wood dividers topped by curvilinear carved gold metal sheets in the shape of thai temple’s roofs. The large chandeliers are formed by multiple metal pieces in the shape of leaves. Overall, the effect is dramatic. The food is beautifully presented. We ordered salad, crispy vegetable spring rolls, vegetable crepe dumplings, red curry and eggplant basil with crispy duck. The salad and the appetizers were just ok. But the eggplant basil with crispy duck was delicious.

Amazing!

By architamodi1 |

Through the Yelp waitlist we managed to get a table and did not have to wait for very long. The vegetarian food was outstanding. We have the coconut milk soup, the red curry (amazing), the flat noodles. Everything was so good. The veg dimsum were average but the rest was just outstanding

Missed that wow effect for me

By Henri H. |

An extremely busy place. We couldn’t get a walk in on Saturday so decided to try again on a Thursday. Full house, very fast service. Everything was very good, I have no special complaints. Maybe I set the bar of expectations too high but I was slightly disappointed or expected something even more. :) the venue is very nice and staff very friendly.

Good value, great lunch in NYC

By foodformarriage |

New York is expensive. If you are staying in my beloved hometown you already have indigestion from the price of your hotel room. This will help. Thai Villa is perfectly situated between Union Square and the Flatiron District, close to a ton of subways. It is on a side street, which makes it feel not touristy (which it is not!). The decor is just a little exotic, and the ambience buzzy, but not too loud to talk. I had lunch here and here's the good news. Delicious, fairly priced, and you'll feel like you discovered something on your own. A real NY find! The Luncheon Special (a NYC basic price point) offers you the full gamut of Thai standards, with a little flair. I had the spicy Thai basil dish with squid and a pointy little triangle of perfectly steamed rice. My friend had a chicken curry so thick and delicious looking that I wanted to dip my chopsticks in. Along with the "special," you get a fragrant soup chockfull of mushrooms or a salad, along with a couple of daintily steamed dumplings or a crispy spring roll, among other choices. Our meals were excellent and I managed not to spray sauce all over my white oxford shirt. My dish was spicy enough that I broke a sweat and needed to close with a refreshing Thai iced coffee, served in an old-fashioned pint cream bottle. Perfect!

Nice looking but food can be better

By MindyK990 |

I would love this if they have better food. Not authentic thai food but very nice looking restaurant. The appetizers we ordered were really good but my main meal was not that great.

Great food, excellent services

By Lina J |

I love this thai restaurant. The food is great, the service is excellent. The tom yam koong is so refreshing, a perfect mix of sweet and sour. The anbience is nice but the tables are set too close to each other so we could hear others' conversation and see their food. A must try when in the area.

Stunning

By helen c |

Stunning menu, couldn't choose, so asked server. He was so lovely, and choose duck roll for starter, and spicy short rib and a chicken green curry, both with sticky rice. Just stunning food, really tasty. I also had a 'mocktail' which was lovely. Highly recommend a visit

Delicious

By marc b |

This restaurant was a find and only a block away from us. They are all setup for Covid-19. The food is delicious and I highly recommend it.

Yummy food

By agcesa |

The ambiance of this Thai restaurant was very charming, warm and inviting. I love all the lights and background music. The food itself was absolutely delicious, from the vegetable crepe dumpling, papaya salad, red curry, pad see ew and scallop skewers. The rich coconut curry provided aromatic flavors. Just be cautious that the spice flavors here mean serious business because when they mean medium spice they mean it! But of course, they did their best adjusting to our spice levels. The drinks -- I can only speak for the lychee martini. It's fresh and tasty with the right amount of sweetness. I always get this drink whenever I'm here. The staff, specifically our waitress, Bee, was very polite and friendly from the get go. We told her from our previous visit that they handed all of our appetizers and entrees all at once, which made us feel rushed and not able to enjoy the food. She went out of her way to making sure we didn't have that same experience again. We felt like we were being taken care of throughout the night even though the restaurant was super busy. Although, we didn't have a reservation and had to wait for a table, the wait was understable given the popularity and demand of the restaurant. Just know that there might not be seats available if you're waiting to get seated. There's not much space so you might find yourself cramped and standing around. Additionally, if you're ordering out for take out make sure to pick up your order immediately as your food is left out in the outdoor space upon entering the restaurant. I highly suggest making reservations as this place is popular by demand. With delicious food and friendly staff I'll always make a visit here when I'm in town.

Very good Thai lunch

By AndiamoAMagna |

Went for lunch and food was excellent. Price was also reasonable, under $20 for lunch time special, which came with app and dessert. Place gets crowded. Get there early. Attentive service.

Best Thai ever!

By Kim B |

This was the best Thai all in our party ever had. Presentation was lovely, service was excellent and prices were reasonable.

excellent Thai Food

By 639dentist |

This is amazing Thai food, very good value and tasty, wait times are extra ordinary, usually 90 minutes, try and join the wait list on yelp app, must try mango sticky rice with coconut ice cream . Decor is nice . service is pretty fast . drinks are very good.

Dinner with friends

By Alisha A |

I arrived a little early for our reservation and wanted to grab a drink. They wouldn’t let me sit at the bar, even though there were no people at the bar. I thought that was rude. They asked me to go to the front and wait for our party. They will not seat partial parties...again, rude. The hostess had zero personality and was slightly robotic in what she did. Once I got past that...the dinner was good. Give it a try...beautiful space!

Amazing food with stunning ambience

By Pratibha Shenoy |

I was at NY on a business trip and was searching for a good Thai restaurant since I like Asian food and that’s how I visited this place. I had been to this place for dinner ,this place is usually crowded including on weekdays. After 15 minutes of wait I finally got a seat by the Bar counter. They have great collection of liquors. I ordered a whiskey based cocktail plus ordered a dumpling and a shrimp based main course. Must say taste is absolutely amazing. Ambience takes you to a different zone with those glittery shimmering golden stuffs. You must visit this place both for its ambience as well as for their yummy food.

Business business business

By Rolf R |

Terrible experience business policy received by email after confirmation of reservation: „table will be held for 10 minutes grace period before offering to the next available party“ „only complete party will be seated“ Our table was booked for 08:30pm, we arrived 08:25 and left at 08:43 because our table was not available. rude business policy - looks like a tourist trap.

Wonderful dinner with friends

It was an overall great dining experience. Seated promptly, G was a wonderful server, super good food and drinks, beautiful decor and in a great location.

Tasty and efficient

By Steph59400 |

Quick lunch with my Californian friend Neil : the food was tasty and the service quick, professional and smily. A special « plus » for the creative decoration. Please also note that the place is somehow noisy during lunchtime, thats why I did not rate 5 stars.

Good table with Thai flavors

By Régis1972 |

A good place to go to eat Thai in New York with the Recommendation to book a table because there is quite a wait (even when we booked...). Small terrace on the street and very nice interior nicely decorated. Beyond that, an extremely noisy indoor room (I calculated almost 95 dB!) So very difficult to get along. The food was good (green curry for me) and the Awards were good for New York. Note that we had a table very close to our neighbors which takes away a bit the intimate side that we might hope. So it was good but still some disappointments.

Great food and great service

By IndianAmericanFamily |

We choose the lunch specials which comes with a salad, an appetizer and the main dish. All the dishes were excellent. The staff was friendly and prompt with their service and refilling water etc. Its a small little place but very well operated. Food was really great. We are vegetarians and ordered 3 veg dishes.

excellent Thai, easy and kind service

one of the best thai in manhattan, very crowded place, full of young people. Informal and young service. Fast service, very good curry fish, good spicy papaya too. Advised

Best Thai in New York

By Deano H |

I love Thai food so when i came to New York from England my first thought was to try a Thai here. WOW! Really nice place. Decor is really cool, service was great and the food was amazing too. The only issue is you cant book a table so you have to turn up and take your chances. Luckily there is a few nice bars nearby to have a tipple while you are waiting for your table :) Cant wait to come back

Delicious Thai restaurant!

By Guillermo Di Bella |

Great spot for Thai food! We ordered the chicken skewers, vegetable dumplings, and the medium-spicy curry as our main dish. The curry and dumplings were spectacular, and the sauce on the skewers was also excellent. The Agave with Dragon Tattoo cocktail was delicious. Prices are a bit high, but the place is beautiful.

Disappointing

By Ralph Sparks |

I came based off the reviews. I really like Thai food and I’ve worked in a Thai in London - Thai Tho on Rupert street near Piccadilly (those reading this review visiting London visit there please to taste a proper Thai curry). The starters were ok but the curry was definitely a disappointment, for the price I wouldn’t recommend. Good service and friendly just a shame the food let the place down - definitely catering to the American market rather than international as the food was a let down. I’m sorry. Don’t be fooled by the glowing reviews

Incredible Thai food in NYC - Make a reservation to avoid queuing

By Jane Stokes |

My husband and I visited here tonight and we were obsessed. Thai food is our favourite cuisine and everything we ate was so close to flavours we had in Thailand! The decor inside was amazing, the staff were very helpful and friendly, and the food was just sensational. We ate the chicken satay, veg spring roll, pineapple fried rice, beef massaman and a pork pad krapow. The spring rolls were the closest I’ve ever had to real Thai spring rolls, outside of Thailand! My husband and I had made a reservation and when we walked out there was a queue and we heard a lady say that the current queue time was an hour. I would 100% wait in a queue for their food! Can’t recommend this place enough

Great Thai food & beautiful restaurant!

By 33traveler2010 |

Enjoyed lunch at this beautiful and authentic Thai restaurant. They have a wonderful lunch special for the price of an entree you also get soup or salad and an appetizer. My Pad Thai was delicious. The decor is beautiful! I read the reviews about long waits but we arrived at 2:00 pm and were seated right away.

Our friends local favorite

By Ashley W |

We are here because it’s our friends local favorite Thai place and we were so happy with the food. Everything was delicious. I personally had the red curry and it’s the best curry I’ve ever had. The perfect level of spice and flavor. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for some delicious Thai food with some good environment.

Beautiful With designs nice same as I am in Thailand but this NewYork. Everything is nice, But the food not for me. I still love my real Thai spicy food.

Hugely popular and with good reason

By Peterinl0nd0n |

The food here was amazing. Large portions, full flavours and great ambience. The whole experience was perfect for my friends birthday treat. It is very busy even on a Monday but they have a good queuing system which meant we could go for a walk and be notified when our table was ready. Staff were very friendly and efficient. Loved it!

Can we give 6 stars?

By 2ruse |

Wonderful food, delightful service and gorgeous surroundings inside - we had tried to come here before Covid with no reservation - no luck! This time we were smarter and could see other potential diners being turned away so make sure you make a booking! Inside is decorated tastefully beautifully Thai - be sure to try the lichee martini yum yum - we try to eat outdoors these days but in this case do go inside if you can (and have your vax card and ID handy)

Amazing food and decor!

By egerena |

This restaurant offers a great selection of Thai food. The staff is attentive and friendly. We did not have to wait long for our food or even for our water to be refilled. The food was delicious! The portions are large. The restaurant is small but has wonderful decor and feels welcoming. We enjoy our experience and highly recommend this restaurant.

Thai real at a high level

By KITER57 |

This is the "new spot" in NYC for a Thai meal. The inside is gorgeous with traditional furniture and in a supposed Thai style ; the atmosphere should take you to an upper scale restaurant in Thailand and actually the impression is doing its job. Reservation WELL IN ADVANCE is compulsory. The menù is extensive and features dishes well beyond the usual Pad Thai and similar. Of course I am not able to tell whether they are similar to the real ones but for sure they are tasty, very good and delicious. I suggest you order "Thai style" so a bit of almost everything (well, not really everything, as I said the menu is extensive) and share; this is what we did. At the end (be aware we drank no alcool) the price was about 45 dollars each, tip included. Provided we had more than enough and considering your are in NYC, absolutely not too expensive.

Outstanding find!

By Christopher C |

They have a. Great lunch menu- I had basil fried rice that was just outstanding! Nice sized portion, good service, beautiful space!

Great choice near Flatiron.

By tmazionsmith |

Went here with a friend on a Monday night. Pretty busy for a weekday night. We ordered 2 dishes to split; both were excellent, but the green curry was wonderful! We also had dessert. We ordered the sorbet; neither of us cared for the lemon, but the mango had very good flavor.

Fabulous Meal.

By RJC6464 |

Really busy restaurant so worth booking to avoid disappointment. Being busy gives the place a good atmosphere and buzz. Staff were helpful and friendly. Service was prompt and efficient even though they were very busy. Beautiful setting. The food was excellent. We had a selection of starters to share and they were all flavoursome. For main courses we had one Pad Thai and one of the variations and both were fabulous. I had the massaman, which is my favourite Thai dish, so I have eaten quite a few over the years and this one was very, very good. There is a good selection of wine by the glass and soft drinks too. Well worth a visit or even a take away.

Found A Great One

By MJK418 |

We were in the Flatiron District looking for a Thai restaurant for dinner. TripAdvisor gave us a few suggestions and we ended up here. The service was excellent, the food was superb, the cocktails were good, the wine poor was generous, and by 8:00 the place was packed. I'd come back again in a heartbeat.

Great, Fun Family Celebration

My wife and I took my older son and daughter in law, and my younger son and his fiance to celebrate their getting engaged- the meal was outstanding, the restaurant interesting and beautiful and the service was great. A very special experience

Beautiful place, authentic thai

By Stephanie G |

The restaurant is beautifully decorated in Thai design. The Tom yum goong had the right sour and heat. I finished every drop of soup. We also had Royal Pad Thai, it was a very huge serving enough for 2. It was a tad sweet so I asked for chilli padi to balance the flavour. Pineapple fried rice was very good too. Most dishes were a little on the sweet side but overall a great dining place for Thai food.

Great

By Anna L |

I had an incredible dining experience with exceptional food. The pineapple fried rice with shrimp surpassed all my expectations and stands as the best I've ever tasted. The prices were reasonable, and our waiter provided attentive and friendly service. The overall ambiance of the place was truly remarkable.

We highly recommend Thai Villa. The food is outstanding and very authentic. The staff is exceptional. For Thai in NYC you must eat here.

Thai villa really lives up to its reputation!

We had so much good food here! The venue is so beautifully decorated. The service was superb. And the food was impeccable! I usually don’t like Thai food. But this place changed my mind!

Best Thai experience in a long time

He walked up to the table and said his name was Best. After the dinner I wonder if it was a stage name to influence our experience! :) Food was fantastic, including succulent dishes we had never had at another Thai restaurant. Some Thai can be overly sweet, this was subtle. We asked Best to just bring us 3 starters and 3 entrees, and pointed out that we had a vegetarian in our group. He brought a terrific mix of taste and textures. Great atmosphere and excellent, fast service. We are inside, but they have a very nice Covid-safe outdoor space.

The best thai food I have tasted - and I have been to thailand! Everything was so full of flavour. I can't remember exactly what we had to eat but the main dishes that stand out are the chicken satay starter, the massaman curry and the duck pad thai.. the price was extremely reasonable too. If I ever return to NYC, I will certainly visit this restaurant again.
