A group of friends had a small birthday celebration here. The dark lighting and homey décor created an intimate atmosphere that was perfect for a night of catching up with friends. We split the spinach and artichoke dip, buffalo spring rolls, and Bavarian pretzel. All were delicious, but the portions were far too small for the price.

Stopped in here for dinner after a show. We were very impressed with the bartenders, food and service!

The pork tacos were tough and a little dry; however the salsa and special sauce on each taco were tasty. I sought this place based on the reviews I read, but I did not feel the same way about what I ordered. Oh well. The beer was cold and good.

This hidden gem off 44th is a must visit if your in New York. The owner Geraldine is brilliant and made us feel so welcome, and played the Killers for us as she knew we was fans. Had food here over two days and it was excellent and the new york strip steak was amazing. We only stumbled upon it on our last two days but went both nights for the evening as its such a great place, with some of the cheapest prices in the city. One of the best bars in New York without question

We ate here before attending a show and it was a real find. The food was excellent as were the cocktails and the staff. Had a real buzz about it, thoroughly enjoyable evening. Would highly recommend.

We came here pre-theater because we like to try new places. The restaurant itself is very cute with a place in the back that has couches in front of a fireplace. The menu was very reasonable for the area but I found the food to be very mediocre. We have been to several other pub/tavern type restaurants where the food was just as reasonably priced but much better. I had the fig and goat cheese flatbread which was just ok. The flatbread itself tasted like there was a coat of flour on the bottom. Skip this place and try one of the other taverns/grills/pubs in the area.

We had a couple of beers in here, the atmosphere was nice, it felt kinda cosy in the bar. They had a good selection of beers available. Mine was good value, my partners was a little on the pricy side at $12. We would return, other people’s food looked good.

It a great place to have a beer and a bite to eat. Very friendly staff, Chris and Shane are the two bar staff we came into contact with. They both have a great sense of humour with good speedy service every time. The waitresses are also very friendly and helpful. Lots of TV screens so you can watch the sport, but they are not loud enough so you can't sit n chat. They have a great selection of beers and spirits too. The locals were very welcoming towards us in our week in New York. All round its great place with a warm atmosphere, helped by the cozy fire which sits in the back room.

Just had a good meal here. We tried the shepherds pie, goats cheese salad, chicken club sandwich and brazen burger. We’re not disappointed with anything. Good, quick service. Bar was busy but we were seated and served well.

A good stop for a cold beer. The atmosphere is warm and inviting with a fireplace and couches in the back room. The waitress was friendly and attentive.

My mom and i were looking for a quick Bute before seeing a musical last week. We didn't want the traditional tourist trap, shouldn't believe our luck when we found the Brazen Fox. It is literally right up the block from all the big theatres, so we were so happy. Sat us right down, took our orders and food was brought out quickly. Food was good and fairly priced for nyc. Highly recommend!

Staying at the Comfort Inn on 44th Street The Brazen Tavern was a great local option to eat at. Pleasantly surprised on all fronts. Food was great. Wondering how authentic the Fish and Chips would be I was pleasantly surprised that the fish was very close to English fish, although the chips were more fries than chips. My son declared the burger the best burger he had ever tasted. Service was great. Busy place which added to the charm and the ambience of the place.

we popped in for some dinner and drinks. the food was okay and I ordered a mojito which was bad, the mint was just thrown in, no crushed ice or syrup. ..can't believe they charge $11 for this! However, the waitress was was awful she was flirting with the barman and some customers at the bar rather than paying attention to her tables. we had to get up to ask for some vinegar, she never once asked if everything was okay. we waited on the bill and then waited and waited on her coming back To take payment that I just left some cash.

Great beer selection!! Awesome food!! Really cool atmosphere. Though it was very busy, it still was a nice place to bring my wife and teen girls before a Broadway show!!

Just walked in, not knowing what to expect. Love it! Relaxing pub with great food, friendly staff with excellent service. Everything that came out of the kitchen looked amazing and our dinners were fantastic. Price wise, it's NYC and is what you'd expect, but not so pricey you can't afford it. Food ranges from burgers and salads, to steak dinners and seafood dishes. Would definitely visit there again.

My wife and I visited NY for our 25th wedding anniversary, we had dropped into several "Irish" pubs with dozens of blaring sports screens where you could hardly hear yourself think. The Brazen Tavern was completely different, although it's a lively pub it was possible to relax and have a conversation. It was also clear that it has a loyal, local clientele. The bar staff are friendly, experienced and professional and the young owner, Geraldine Ryan from Tipperary who is a lovely lady, already has half a lifetime of NY bar experience behind her, and it shows in the way she runs her business. When she found out that it was our wedding anniversary she bought us both a drink and spent ages chatting with us. If you are staying in this area and looking for an Irish pub, don't go any further than the Brazen Tavern.

The menu has a good range; sandwiches, burgers, classic pub fare (bangers and mash, fish and chips), crab cakes, steamed mussels. The wait staff were very attentive, and our orders came out quick. The restaurant itself was a nice change of pace from the blinking screaming assault that Times Square can be. It's dark and cozy. They have a good selection of drink specials, beers on tap, and ciders.

Happy hour is great here. $5 well drinks. My gimlet was made fresh with freshly squeezed lime juice and simple syrup. Perfect. Great selection of Belgium beers on draft. Service is so friendly and efficient. Will definitely return!

I visited The Brazen Tavern with friends, they have a large selection of draft beers and spirts. The food us fantastic and very reasonably priced. We loved the friendly welcoming atmosphere. Would definitely recommend a stop here on a visit to New York

We loved the Brazen Tavern, the food was unbelievable and the service 5*. Surprisingly for a NYC tavern the inside was beautifully kept and the open fire is a great touch in the winter. We were very thankful that we could eat and have drinks here with our 4 year old daughter - difficult to find a bar/tavern feel that allows young children in NYC - so thank you! We can't wait to visit again.

After walking from Greenwich Village up to 44th Street on one of the sunniest days in November, we quite fancied a pint! We found the Brazen Tavern completely by chance. The staff were friendly. A great selection of beer. And a thoughtfully constructed menu that had us returning the following day for lunch. The food was exceptional. Some stand out dishes on the menu include: Irish meatballs, truffle mac and cheese, honey glazed wings and the truffle parmesan fries. We took our time enjoying small plates and soaking up the warm atmosphere that this bar simply exudes. A big thank you to our waitress Elena, who made us feel very welcome. We understand that this pub is newly opened and family run, and we'd like to send our very best wishes to all involved. All the best for the future -- we will certainly visit again when we're next in New York.

Super Bowl Sunday a group of 5 of us were visiting from out of town and had dinner and drinks at a restaurant without a TV. Being fair weathered sports fans, we stopped in The Brazen Tavern to catch the 4th quarter of the game. The hostess directed us to a table, but we were blown away to see the cozy fireplace and seating area in the back, and above it, a huge TV. We asked if we could sit back there and she said of course. We were trying to figure out why this room was empty except for maybe four other people on Super Bowl Sunday, but we were thrilled and happy to be there and sat down and made ourselves at home. The waitress came over and took our order - 2 Guinness and a glass of water. She then came back and was really angry and said: You know, you cant just sit here and take up the whole room and not order any food or drinks. Now we had just come from dinner and some didn't want to drink anymore, and did I mention the room was empty except for 4 other people? In the 4th quarter of the Super Bowl? So I ordered three more Guinness. I understand minimums. But to have someone come over and freak out is weird. You guys are in the hospitality business. Just tell me nicely. It kind of sucked the rest of the game, and she and some of the staff (owners?) were behind us watching the very end. The bill was $40. I left a $10 tip, but only because another waitress ended up serving the drinks. Honestly mean service = bad service in my book. I don't know her name but she was an attractive Caucasian woman with long black hair. I waited a lot of tables in day, and most customers deserve a chance. Give us one.

After a long day shopping in New York we dropped into The Brazen Tavern at west 44th Street between 8th and 9th Avenue for a beer and something to eat. The place was busy with most people eating. We found out that the place had changed hands recently and we tried out the new menu. I'd highly recommend the chicken spring rolls and the flatbread pizza. Ger who comes from Tipperary in Ireland was behind the bar and she gave us a great welcome and a quick tour of the place and showed us an equally big party room upstairs. The bar customers were a mixture of local workers and visiting tourists. Good buzz about the place. We will be back next time in NYC.

We ended up here because a family member decided upon this place for all of us to meet up while we were in the city, prior to a family gathering in NJ. What it has going for it: Location (just off of Time Square), Vibe/Atmosphere, varied bar list (from stuff anyone would drink to craft beers and cocktails), and good service (especially since we were a 10-top on a Friday night). What it lacks: Food was standard bar fare and fairly uninspiring and price was higher than expected even for NYC. I get that it is a tourist area and that they can get away with slightly inflated prices; Portions were average/normal sized and the food was not spectacular given the prices. I probably would not go back, but I prefer off the beaten path/locals scene places. If you are in the Time Square area and seeking the "NYC" experience then this place (or any of the other NYC-Irish pubs that line the off Broadway area) will suffice to check it off your bucket list.

Went for lunch before a Wednesday matinee. Unbelievably inexpensive lunch specials. I had a delicious grilled salmon wrap with choice of fries or side salad for $10. Very generous portion. My friend had a huge salad with grilled chicken for $12. Pleasant and prompt service. And there is a charming room in the back with sofas and a working fireplace. Probably great for drinks and schmoozing. Would come back in a heartbeat.

Enjoyed the super signature burger here this evening as well as a couple of beers. Good to find a genuine tavern (pub to us brits) in amongst the many chain eateries in this part of the city. Nice atmosphere with good music and excellent service.

My husband and I stopped by for a late lunch around 2:30 pm one day. Since it was mid-afternoon, it was not very busy, but the bar tender/waitress Tiffany greeted us quickly. I wanted a cobb salad, but did not realize that it was only available for dinner. Tiffany and the cook were nice enough to make an exception, so we both ordered the cobb. It was delicious and very fresh. Tiffany was a great waitress....friendly and engaging with everyone who stopped in for a late lunch or an afternoon drink.

We visited here last month during a recent visit to the city . One of many Irish bars that we had to try . Standard "Irish" type establishment with standard choice of drinks and friendly staff

On a recent visit to the Time Square/Hells Kitchen section of New York City we stumbled on this pub. Happy Hour lasts from 11am - 8pm and there are several drink specials. The staff was friendly and made us feel at home almost immediately. There is a nice fireplace surrounded by comfy chairs and we enjoyed a drink sitting by the (gas) fire. The food was very good, plentiful, and a good value for NYC. I would recommend the Brazen Tavern and will return again.

My first time in new york,25 of us travelled and stayed in the hotel across the road from the brazen tavern, what a find the food and staff are first class,we were given the back room most nights and the staff could not do enough for us,it's a five Starr bar with five star staff and great food

Located near the Hell's Kitchen district, this was a great find. We stopped for drinks, which were reasonably priced. Fun/diverse crowd (all age groups), mostly locals. Friendly staff and great service.

A lovely little pub. Friendly staff. A locals pub. Worth popping in if you are looking for a drink or food in the area. Not posh, so not pricy, as New York can be.

We were staying a few doors up at the Intercontinental Hotel and decided to visit the Brazen Tavern for a couple of drinks. This is a great bar with a nice menu choice. Has a traditional New York Bar feel and the team that run it are great. We ended up visiting 3 or 4 times during our New York break and were made to feel so welcome. By the end of our holiday we felt like we had really made genuine new friends with the team here. Great value drinks and food too, which can't be said for a lot of places in NYC. Recommend this place for a laid back evening.

Was looking for a reasonably priced restaurant near Second Stage Theatre and found this gem online. It was surprisingly empty on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving which gave us the almost undivided attention of the proprietor. Portions were very large and all sandwiches come with a choice of salad or fries. Lunch specials are $10-12 and there were many choices. With beverages and a side order, lunch was $20 pp including tax and a 20% tip.

Great food, great atmosphere and close to our hotel. This place was welcoming and had a great ambiance about it. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting great value, well cooked food. We ate there twice so it couldn't have been bad!

The word "tavern" in the name raises fears of rowdy atmosphere and low-quality service, but The Brazen is quite nice. Yes, there is a bar area that might (or might not!) get a little loud at certain hours, but there's also a secluded little room (with fireplace) toward the back with comfortable seating and a quiet aspect. And the tavern menu is diverse enough for most tastes, the dishes are well executed, and the prices reasonable. The service staff is friendly and professional. You'll enjoy the stop, before or after a show, or just for a casual drink and meal.

We had dinner at the Brazen Tavern before seeing a show. It was in a good location, just a short walk from the theater. Food was delicious, service friendly and atmosphere fun. This is a great causal dinner place and will be on our list for a future visit.

Busy place and really noisy (could be us just new to NY) but not a place for easy conversations. Food choice is wide. Tacos great. Wait staff efficient but busy. Food came without cutlery or napkins. Would go back but sit outside next time.

Food was so salty that we couldn't have some of it. Staff service was friendly (at start) but inattentive. Seemed like they didn't have enough waiters. However some of the other staff (host I guess) looked not busy but didn't do anything to help the only waitress available. He just stood at the entrance and say hi to people. I reduced suggested gratuity from 18% to 5% because of the time it took to get drinks (30 minutes) and food (25 minutes) but mostly because of the inattentive service and I was approached by the manager (Melissa) who explained to me that her waitress doesn't have a paycheck so she needs to get tips to survive. I exactly know how it is and she behaved unprofessionally by saying all this. Furthermore she accused me to refuse to pay for the service and sarcastically told me if I wanted 18 cents change. My feedback was genuine and tips adjusted accordingly. Unfortunately this was not dealt with the necessary care from the staff who did not get the whole point and treated me like a criminal instead of focusing on what the problem was with the service.

4 of us booked the brazen tavern before a Broadway show. Wonderful service from friendly staff. Food was amazing so was the rose wine. Will definitely be back

Good service, nice people. Off the beaten path, not as busy as some of the main restaurants on the main drags of NYC. Pretzel appetizer was good, others in my party liked the grilled chicken club and veggie burger. I did not care for the pulled pork sliders, they were cold when they arrived. Good place to eat if you want a decent meal at a decent price in NYC.

Took quite a while while to get service outside. Once inside was helped by a friendly and accommodating barman. Ordered the mac and cheese with Maine lobster and it was great!! Best starter I have during my 5 days in New York. Would definitely recommend you make a turn! The waitress that eventually served me was nice and professional!

Having gotten to the city later than anticipated for an 8 PM Broadway show, my husband and I were frantic trying to find one of our favorite restaurants without a wait time. We actually stumbled into a tavern on 44th - what a gem!! We were so graciously greeted by Gordon, a real plus to the establishment, given our choice of seating, and offered to hurry the order so we could make curtain. The best part - the food was great. I had a portobello burger to die for - the truffle oil fries were so good it was sinful - we have a new fav tavern in The theatre district.

We made reservations for Saturday at noon, arrived a little late, but there were only a few people at the bar, no one else at the tables. The service was okay, nothing to rave about. We started with the loaded fries that were good, the garlic aioli was really good that was served with the fries. We went with the margaritas to drink, and they were quite good, although kind of on the small size. For our meals, we had the steak sandwich with salad (already had the fries as a starter), the shrimp tacos (soft shell) and the margherita flat bread pizza. The sandwich was good, instead of thinly sliced steak, it was pieces of steak. Again, the garlic aioli was a nice addition to the sandwich. The shrimp tacos were good, but very spicy. You get 3 tacos in an order. The margherita flat bread was quite large, and served on a wooden paddle, very tasty. A few more people came in for lunch while we were there, but it was not crowded at all. We would come back again, it was a nice quiet spot for lunch away from the Times Square chaos, good food and great location when going to catch a show.

While looking for a short cut to the theater district and avoiding the 42nd St. hassle, I took the 41st St. which is much quieter. Being a good time to eat, I saw The brazen tavern and walked in. I was a little early so tye very friendly staff found a table for me easily. The tavern/pub menu had lots of stuff on it and the daily specials were also appetizing. I went for the recommended deal of the day - Excellent Burger with fries and this was accompanied by a pint of excellent IPA that the charming waitress raved about. The food was freshly prepared and delicious. I returned a couple of days later and wasn't disappointed. Great place to eat, away from the noise and hassle, and literally a stone's throw from Times Square and the theater district. Highly Recommended!!!

Had the signature burger and it was amazing!! Great service, good price and good range of food and drinks. Seriously recommend this place, would definitely visit again :)

What a great place! We met our daughter who came in from school to see a show for a quick dinner. No problem getting a reservation, staff was polite and attentive. Food was delicious, and atmosphere was great. Not a too loud bar scene so we could sit and talk without screaming, and plenty of TVs so you could see any number of sporting evens. Great on tap Beer Selection
Good Tavern
Just happened to stumble too this Tavern while strolling the neighborhood. Had a great lunch, the food was good, the service was great. This is a locals place.
