great place for a good meal!

By emily e |

our first day in new York and we had breakfast there and it was fab! huge pancakes with bacon and syrup! fast service and polite helpful staff

Some of the best pizza I've tasted in New York

By Andrew S |

Great tasting pizza at a great price. Best thing about the pizza is the crust they make to go with it. They also have a wide range of dessert and other foods as well. My friends got the quesadillas. They got a lot for a really good price! Excellent food and environment. It's my usual spot to go to for food when I find myself in the city.

go-to breakfast

By js10018 |

in a competitive bagel city, bread factory holds its own with a reliable bagel. muffins (my preference is the cranberry) and a few of the other baked goods i have tried are also above average. Attracting both tourists and local employees, it is well run, clean and reasonably priced - no avenue location price inflation. I wish they still gave out the mini muffin samples, but perhaps i'm better off without the morning calorie bonus

Great value for a good breakfast.

By Mehands |

During a visit to NYC, I was addicted to their bagel sandwiches. Went there nearly every morning for a large, authentic NY bagel sandwich for about $3.

Good breakfast for the price.

By HistoryBandit03 |

Ate at two different locations and both provided a good breakfast. It is not a classy place but has good food, pastries and coffee.

Amazing!!

By Lauren W |

Mum and I found this little treasure on our final day on our way to the Empire State Building. I had pizza and a cookie (we would call it a cake!) mum had a bagel and a peanut butter cookie (an actual cookie!). I'd had a pizza slice somewhere else in the city and although I enjoyed it it didn't live up to the expectations that had been built up before hand but this place - wow!! They know how to do pizza!!! The best pizza I've ever had in my life and if I have to go back to get another taste in a few years then so be it!! They also serve my favourite drink (fruit punch snapple). I actually said to my mum that it was probably a good job we didn't discover this place until the last day as I doubt we would have eaten anywhere else throughout our trip had we discovered it before!!

Brilliant Soup and Sandwich

By Muttrah123 |

Wow this place is well worth finding...somewhere behind the bus station. The food is amazing and really good value but if your not a huge eater then buy it to share!

Never full during lunch

By Let's make Astoria's restaurants better! |

Pizza, pasta and deserts are the order of the day here. I can usually find a place to eat during lunch, Service is self service, but quite fast in turnaround times.

I missed the breakfast..

By Dora A |

we had our breakfast there nearly everyday. Bagels and cheesecakes are amazing, but I dont recommend pancakes, not so good..

Good food, rude staff

By dontfloweritup |

I thought I was alone in my thinking the staff were rude here but apparently not. I spent over $50 and still the person who served me was rude. The food was good but I hate giving my money to such rude people.

The place cops go to eat - always a great recommendation!

By MidlandsTraveller |

Fantastic lunch stop. Turned in by chance- was nearly put off by the word “bakery” in the title, but this place has much more than just bread! There are a series of counters each serving a different type of food - a bakery with oven on premises, American, Chinese and a grill. All was being made fresh in front of us. Chicken udon noodles was great with a very tasty broth. To get such good and reasonably priced food so close to Time Square was an unexpected delight. As for the cop reference in the title - the police really know all the local eating places, so seeing blue uniforms in the queue I have always found a good sign!

GREAT choices, good price

By Barb H |

Traveling with others? Here's where you want to eat - something for everyone at a very good price. I had pizza at one meal; design-your-own pasta dish at another. Both very reasonably priced. My traveling partners loved their quiche, hamburgers, salads and soups. GREAT place for those on a budget who want something better than McDonalds.

Cheap Bagels

By Yasemin S |

We ate breakfast here everyday. You can choose any kind of bagel with any kind of topping for just a few dollars. Perfekt if you don´t want to go to a diner every day.

Nice cakes and pizza

By jennimaria |

Good coffee, nice cakes and good pizza slizes. Quick and friendly service. Open until late. Wuite ok prices too. Lots of seats available.

Great Variety

By OceansorMountains |

This place has great pizza and a lot of variety. You can get salads, stir fry, pizza, sweets, all kinds of different food. The food is great and prices are very reasonable. I really liked this place.

Good place for dessert!

By Chris P |

Stopped here after a Christian concert at The Garden and got a good cup of coffee, great Napoleon, red velvet cake, and my wife got a chai. Not overly expensive for ny but very good. Everything tasted fresh! Will go back for dessert again!

Loved the pizza!

By Narma17 |

Tried out the pizza and it was too too good. Maybe one of the best i have ate so far. One slice is too large and its crispy and cheesy. So yummy!

Fresh, tasty food for amazing prices

By charlotterdavis |

I first visited here in 2011 and was impressed by the vast array of fresh food on offer, as well as the good prices. I wanted to come back to see if it was still as good as I remembered. We came on a rainy day so I was expecting it to be busy but there were plenty of spaces to sit and barely any queues. The variety of food on offer is amazing, from hot to cold to healthy or unhealthy. I opted for the create your own stir fry so witnessed it being cooked fresh before my own eyes. It was very tasty and filling. I also could not resist the freshly baked cookies which were amazing! This place is perfect for a quick stop for breakfast, lunch or dinner or even for coffee and a sweet treat. The location near Macy’s is perfect to stop after shopping, and the price makes it worth paying a visit!

Excellent Food... Fast Delivery

By Nel2906 |

It's snowing & didn't want to head out so we ordered in from the Bread Factory Cafe. Delivery was faster than anticipated & food was amazing. Generous portions & great prices.

Good quality, poor service - overpriced

By Bradenton14 |

This place is a fast food place and in front of this heavily overpriced - even for N.Y. 40$ for a breakfast for 2 consisting of 2 Capuccinos, one bagel, one egg white wrap and some fruits is ridiculous. But the quality is good.

Great place for Breakfast and very close to Penn Station

By jaoakand |

We stopped here after taking the train up to NYC. We arrived around 8:30am and this was a great find. We walked in and found a table, then 4 of us got up and got in line to order and bring the food back to the table. We ordered bagels with cream cheese, cannolis, a cookie and coffee. Everything was wonderful. The women's restroom was very clean also. We had a wonderful breakfast and were on our way to a great day in NYC

Great place to eat and reasonably priced

By LLLLMMMM20 |

We ate in this café many times when we stayed in New York over Christmas. It was very convenient to the hotel we stayed in across the street (Moxy's). Every meal we had from breakfast through to evening was excellent and reasonably priced. Great selection of breakfast deals and all will be adapted to suit what you like and food was served up quickly. Great choices of bread and cakes from the bakery. Ordering was a bit confusing at the start but we soon got the hang of it. Staff very helpful and friendly Would highly recommend this establishment.

How did I miss this before?

By Leslie J |

On the way to Macy's needed lunch, veered into this doorway and I am so grateful I did. Our pizza was yummy but the entire time I snacked on it I was imagining return visits for salads, soups, sandwiches, hot dishes, and awesome looking desserts. Prices were great, I will return. What a find.

So good when you just want an after dinner sweet

By Dr. Maya N |

Oh my gosh, their walnut bar was fantastic and the apple tart was the perfect size. Very reasonable prices. Definitely in need of someone to wipe off the tables, but when it is late and you just need a sweet something, this fits the bill.

Heaven!!!

By Barbara W |

We thought we had died and gone to heaven in the Bread Factory!! So much to choose from, freshly made bagels, pizza slices and numerous cheesecakes, cookies and cakes - plus build your own pasta and stir-fries. The peanut butter cookie is to die for - and my daughter told me the pizza slice was the best pizza ever. If we had discovered this place at the beginning of our trip I think we would have lived in there for the duration!!

Nice place to take your breakfast

By Aquiles Andrade |

Order for the waffles with fruits. Excelent. Nice service and good food. Next to Penn Station on 7th Av. Fresh juice and good coffe.

Awesome place for cheap quick breakfast

By DMT1213 |

We had the grilled sourdough with one egg and one of us had ham in it with cheese and the other had bacon with cheese ... for $3.50 each it was perfect, quick and delish! The baked goods looked to die for ...

Quick Bite

By The_Wanderer1992 |

While I was walking back to my hotel, I was starving and didn't want to wait 45 minutes in a restaurant in Times Square, so I went to this restaurant for a late night dinner. There weren't many people in here, so I walked right up and ordered something with no wait. I had a chicken caesar wrap and chicken noodle soup. Both were average tasting and filled me up. The main guy who helped me was friendly.

Much more than just bread

By Acamalicious |

In search of a place to sit and eat something in the morning, my wife and i went to the bread factory. The normal debate of whether to go to a breakfast place or wait until brunch was not present here because this place has it all. Omelettes, pizza, pasta ... All at the same time! I was happy to have pasta with spinach and chicken in a pesto sauce that was delicious. This is my kind of breakfast!! My wife went the traditional route and enjoyed her meal as well. My smoothie was delicious but had to be stirred often. A wife variety of food for a small place. And its delicious!

Excellent breakfast

By John304551 |

Stayed near Times Square and found this to be an excellent place for breakfast. Went back 3 times in the week I was in New York. Reasonably priced good food

Awesome Pepperoni Pizza

By and.when |

Casual place to get a quick bite before a bus tour. The pizza was fresh from the oven and so crispy!

Decent but pancakes and eggs cost us $26 for two

By crazistevoh |

Landed early in NYC and needed some breakfast waiting for our friend to wake up(he lives 42nd and 8th area) Place is very nice inside, but the griddle prices just on the high side even for NYC.. Food was tasty, though.

We ate here twice

By mla1010 |

What a great little place for breakfast. The staff are super nice, the price is very fair and the food was great. I enjoyed the atmosphere and though didn't try lunch, I imagine I wouldn't be dissatisfied at all.

Seriously good for lunch.

By Jayne |

We looked around passing everything wanted freshly prepared lunch Seriously good wide selection. All cooked onsite with their own bakers and prepared in front of you. Very organised and friendly staff. You will not be disappointed eat in or takeaway. Worth a try and half the cost of most restaurant round here

Breakfast

By MrsV |

Went in to try authentic pancakes well they were ok standard syrup pots instead of maple syrup. Place is clean with friendly staff only let down by toilets that have seen better days

stopped in before the theatre...

By candle_maker_2004 |

this bread factory was on our way to the theatre so we stopped in for a warm coffee and some sweets ! Everything was great but we could of done without the drunk patrons....but then again it was new years day ! The staff handled it very well....if it was me I would of kicked the guy out !

Good assortment of sandwiches.

By Henry B |

When you walk into the cafe, you see a plain establishment with no fancy decor. However, the have a great selection of sandwiches and desserts at reasonable prices, considering you are in mid town Manhattan. The staff are friendly and accomodating.

England needs a Bread Factory!

By J May |

My idea of heaven. So much food choice, amazing baguettes and pizza. We ate from here at least once a day on a 5 day trip. Really reasonable prices and friendly staff. Wish we had one over here...dangerously good!

Great breakfast

By strober |

Happy personnel, quick service and great range of choices for breakfast. I recommend the bagels with different sorts of cream cheese.

Good place for lunch or a coffee break

By Far_and_Beyond |

restaurants in this chain are usually located in very good spots. Price/quality wise it is a right place to grab some salad, pizza, pie or have some coffeebreak during your sightseeing tour in NYC. The place is just good enough.

Very Good Cheap Meal

By Mark P |

I stopped in for a slice of pizza and a drink. The pizza was quite good, and how can you beat a meal for less than $6. There is a decent amount of seating. This is not a fancy place, though it is clean and reasonably pleasant.

Delicious

By 64Beachy |

After arriving after a full 12 hours on our tour bus, we were starving!! I asked a NYC police officer the best place for breakfast. She suggested The Bread Factory. Our food was delicious and extremely reasonably priced!! The sweet cream cheese croissant was flaky and so good! We even went back before we left NYC for goody bags of pastries to bring home!!

Meh it was pretty good

By MuffinsinTO |

got a quick lunch here. It was ok i guess but there is better out there. Take a look around and you will find better!

Loved the food and the people were very friendly

By AnthonyM338 |

This location is very convenient to shopping and attractions. They have a lot to choose from with salads, pastas, pizza, sandwiches and soups. I got a sandwich and a slice of cake. Both were really good. I decided to get some soup as well and it was also very good. The prices were very reasonable and my daughter enjoyed the food which is always a good sign. The seating is tight but worth the visit.

Great breakfast

By CoachLDFB |

If you want a great breakfast at a low price, go to The Bread Factory on 7th Ave., about 3 or 4 blocks north of Penn Station. Super inexpensive and great choices.

Great food. Great price for NYC

By zap021 |

Great selection of freshly made sandwiches, pizza, salad, stir fry, pasta etc. $6-$10 not bad for NyC!

Good Pizza and Friendly Service

By TRAVELdglobenow |

Our first choice was closed so we opted for this place due to the location. We had a good lunch. All of us had pizza and soft drinks. They sold pizza by the slice and it was inexpensive. They heated the slices after you ordered. It was self-served. Our cashier said she graduated from the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida, our hometown.. The pizza was very tasty and fresh.

Cheese cake to die for

By Crobbins57 |

We struggled to find somewhere to eat, then we came across the Bread Factory Cafe, we had Pizza slices which where very nice and filling, afterwards you could not ignore all the cakes, it was a hard choice but we had Blueberry cheesecake and chocolate fudge cake both of which where delicious, we where so impressed with out meal and the cost was not expensive. We went back the following morning for breakfast, we both had ham, cheese and mushroom omlette, with rosti potatoes and toast, it was really nice and again not expensive. We really enjoyed what we had over the two meals and would recommend this place.

Anything you could ask for!

By Joseph T |

On a recent trip to NYC we ate at this location several times. It has everything from soups to salads to pizza to sandwiches to pasta! And of course, awesome desserts. Make sure you check it out!

Wonderful way to start the Day

By Sunshineldy |

Great surprise to find this little spot, we took a chance not knowing what to expect. We order breakfast sandwicks, mine was bacon and egg on wheat and my Son bacon and egg on a bagel. Both were good and the prices were great.

Reasonably priced food near Times Square

By kevin_mcguire |

We stopped here on a number of occasions for brunch. It was perfect for what we wanted. Lots of choice, nice food and reasonably priced. Didn't try any of the pastas or stir fries but enjoyed watching them being made. It was one of the few eating places in NY that we didn't feel we were being ripped off. Will go back.

Dessert looked huge. Slice of pizza was excellent!!!!

By SusieTig |

We stumbled on this place &even took pics of the desserts&pizza pies they bake right there. Huge&good!!!!

Cheap and Cheerful!

By UkLioness |

I have been visiting The Bread Factory, whenever I'm in NYC, for the last 4 years. The fresh Pasta section is my favourite. You select your ingredients and they cook it in front of you. The portion is so decent, that I normally dont finish it until the next day. There are also sandwiches, salads, desserts etc. I think its value for money if you are on a budget or just want a quick bite to eat. Looking forward to my next visit.

Fantastic bagels!

By Laurie W |

Wanted to take bagels home from NYC......this was it! Had coffee and pastry there one morning......Yummo! Typical cute neighborhood corner deli/bakery....very convenient to our hotel as well. We stayed at the Intercontinental Hotel, down the block....

Very nice, Awesome bagels and deli bakery too.

By tammie b |

Yum 0! This place is amazing. Well they make the best bagels. That’s all I had here so far but they have such good food. it’s a great atmosphere. The staff are all very nice. They have all kinds of great fresh pastries, bread ,cookies all kinds of foods…dinner lunch and breakfast. fresh bagels and did I say fresh bagels?! come to this place. You’re gonna be very happy you did. This is my favorite place now in New York City to eat

excellent for breakfast or lunch

By jerrywDorset |

Good quality reasonably priced food prepared in front of you

Wonderful Meal at a Great Price!

By Teresa P |

We at the Bread Factory twice during our recent visit to NYC. The food was outstanding and the prices were very reasonable. A hamburger with fries was around $7 -- absolutely delicious! The cheese pizza was around $2.50 a slice -- absolutely delicious! I would gladly eat at the Bread Factory again.

Wide variety of food to choose from

By Victoria T |

I think everyone could find a meal in this restaurant. They even offered to remake a sandwich as I do not like cheese. The prices are very fair for such fresh food. Very pleasant staff, restaurant is clean and bright.

BREAD FACTORY? PERFECT!

By Marito |

is not complete a visit to New York City if I don´t go to THE BREAD FACTORY in 7th and 34ST....Visit it and know the very special kind of the people, ALL. Boys and Ladies. Spanish or English, NO PROBLEM!!! GOOD FOOD at good prices! Clean baths!!! all in the BREAD FACTORY CAFE!!! GO please!

Loved it!

By Penny H |

Just walked into this cafe by chance. Two words, loved it! There is sooo much choice, all of it looks and tastes good too! Whatever u are looking for, you are finding it here! I loved the food and the ambiance too. To me, it had a European feel to it. Loved sitting there, I heard Dutch, English, Spanish. Just great

A Tasty Find

By Buffalo1949 |

Popped in for lunch en route from Penn Station to mid-town. Cafeteria-style ordering, with soup, sandwich, pizza, pasta and stir-fry stations. The latter two are 'select your own' ingredients. Most items are fresh-made on the spot and process is efficient. Folks behind the counter were all helpful. We shared a pastrami & Swiss melt and a bowl of Italian wedding soup. The sandwich was prepared while we picked out drinks and paid. The pastrami was excellent and the soup was quite satisfying. We considered it a good find worth seeking out for a quick lunch if you're in the area.

Great breakfast

By lovetocook2531 |

It was a family NYC weekend & we were looking for a quick breakfast place because we had a busy day ahead. We were walking down the street & noticed the Bread Factory & all decided it looked nice. And we were not disappointed. The restaurant had everything you could possibly crave! The group all ordered breakfast but I decided to have a cup of soup which was perfect. It caught my eye in the simmering kettle & I was so happy that’s what I picked. We were all pleased with our choices.

Excellent Pizza & Pasta

By MissHema |

OMG, so i decided to try out the Pizza, to my delight it was so perfect! Thin, crisp and simply delicious! Tip, oder the entire pie...one slice will not be enough!

Breakfast

By Colswife |

We had a wonderful omelet, pastries and tea. the food was fantastic and so was the service. I will come back again if I'm in NYC

Great find

By Rhonda2398 |

Stopped in here after we tried to get into the Pensy Food Hall that was jampacked. It was a great find. Lots of selection, friendly and helpful staff, and very good food. We will definitely go back!

Essential and provided

By Lorenzo P68 |

Well-stocked and somewhat Spartan bakery where you can also find drinks, cookies, ready-made sweet and savory products, or a kitchen for savory dishes or bagels. It can be a solution to save something if you are not very hungry for breakfast and are happy with just a coffee and a sweet. They don't do table service. I got us some cookies (the red one is devastating) and a cheesecake.

On 7th Ave

By Alice H |

YUMMY and not real expensive either! I had a freshly made stir fry with hot curry coconut sauce and it was absolutely delicious.

Like a deli but different

By j0ann953 |

Just to be sure the correct address goes with this review, it is 470 7th Ave (between 35th & 36th) NYC I have been to NYC many times & I just found this. Great selection of food & pastries, simple sit down, good prices. Food was just what we were looking for & very tasty. Service was welcoming & Friendly. Located very near Macy’s and not to far from Penn Station.

Great bagels and service!

By PDrizzy |

Bagels were as good as the more popular tourist ones round the corner. Staff were friendly and there's a great selection of snacks and drinks

Loved It

By AlanKarenTopaz |

Heavenly cinnamon and raisin bagels with a ton of cream cheese. Great coffee. Ended up eating breakfast here for each of our four mornings in NYC and picked up coffees on the way back to our hotel. Good value, good atmosphere. Coming from England and never having been to New York, it was our idea of a "proper" New York deli. NYPD coming in for their coffees and snacks and everything! Big salted pretzels were great, pizza, burgers etc, etc, all available. Visit!!!

Amazing

By Siobhan B |

This place is amazing, they have a wide range of food. We went there for breakfast and had the most amazing pancakes they also have a wide range of cakes and pastries

Very rude staff!

By Nadine W |

Stopped in for breakfast and had very rude people serving us! They had absolutely no people skills. I ordered pancakes and they were not even cooked through. Do not recommend!

Good selection of paninis and bakery items

By paxa |

This place is very convenient for anyone who's taking the Washingtin Deluxe to DC, as it's right around the corner from where you board the bus. It's a quite large, bright and clean eatery with a huge selection of hot food, panini sandwiches and bakery items like large and small palmieres. I had a chicken fajita which was spicy and tasty. Great place to go for a quick meal before boarding or get stuff to take with you.

Great find

By khorseman |

Visited this cafe on a trip to NY was across the road from our hotel, great find, all food cooked to order, vast choice from sandwiches, pizza , stir fry burgers and roast dinners, deserts include fresh fruit cakes. We ate there for lunch and breakfast and did not have a bad meal. Some people may not like the fact that the meals are served on paper plates and use of plastic cutlery, but this did not bother us. Prices were great too. The shop was clean, warm and welcoming. And the washrooms were spotless. Friendly helpful staff. Highly recommend a visit

Best sandwich we've had in N.Y

By Amadyson |

So glad we decided to try this place when passing. Good to see your food getting cooked in front of you. Great prices and service. We will definitely be visiting again.

Loved This Place

By ProudToBeCanadian |

We discovered this great restaurant on 9th avenue only a few blocks from the Distrikt Hotel. We lliked it so much that we kept coming back for breakfast, lunch, and dessert. They have everything: hot meals, sandwiches, panini's, wraps, pizzas, salads, soups, pasta, giant cookies, gourmet cakes. The cheesecakes are delicious. The service is fast and the staff are hardworking and friendly.

Hmmm, not good but filling!

By Peter_Bomberg |

The only good thing to say was that the portions are large so if your hungry you get lots. The Ruben sandwich was dry and bland, the chocolate cookie was floury and uninteresting. I did enjoy my turkey and cranberry sandwich and the guy was nice enough to add avocado to it which made it much more moist and tasty. The latte's were watery and not very warm and the ice coffee was simply bad. I would not recommend this place.

Perfect Stopover to Wait Out the 5 PM Mad Rush!!

By Gracie334 |

My husband, sister, and I were ending our busy day of touring NYC and stopped here for a light bite to eat before heading to Penn Station (2 blocks away). To our amazement, we found a seat to rest while waiting for the 5-6 PM crowd to vacate the station. The cafe is packed with people all day long, but at rush hour, everyone is headed out of the city--so it was a perfect place to pass time. The staff was busy cleaning after a long day, but were very cordial to wait on us and chat w/ us as we asked questions about the city, etc. The cafe has a great selection of lunch and dinner entrees, salads, delicious bakery, and beverages. Online orders are available as well. So, needing to wait out the crowd at day's end?? Check out this great cafe! FYI: Macy's is across the street on the next block down from the cafe.

Nice break from 34th St

By d105raynee |

Delicious pasta, you have to love picking everything you want. Husband loves the fresh salad. Good dessert as well. Cost...what you pay in NYC.

Geat Bagels

By Ana T |

I had breakfas there 3 days in a row. I can´t complain. The bagels are delicious, the service is great, and even if there is a big line, they try to go really fast, so that you don´t get to wait too long.

Bread Factory

By TouristMD |

We tried a few desserts there, both were good. They discount some muffins and pastries later in the day.

Good Simple Choice

By rrfh1 |

Lots of selection and one of the cleanest places we found on vacation. Not fancy, just a simple kind of place, much like a Panera Bread. Breakfast cooked to order, lots of options for lunch. Safe choice.

Good find for breakfast

By Adrienne W |

Really reasonably priced good, massive selection. Happy with the service and the food we ordered. Would recommend as so many other places overpriced

always a great place to eat

By Marie0426 |

Great that this place is open late. great food at any time of day at good price. Lots of choices. We often stop by here. Portions are quite big.

Will Do in a Rush

By romadaro |

Wasn't the best breakfast I've ever had, but it filled a void and the price was right. The pancakes definitely weren't IHOP quality but they were OK. On the other hand, the turkey bacon could have passed for beef jerky. Will do in a rush, but don't think I'd try it again unless I'm in a real hurry!

Good Food at Reasonable prices

By Steve R |

We had been in New York for A few days , we don't like a lot of fast food , but we wanted something quick and reasonable , as we had a lot of sightseeing to do ,and didn't want to wait ages to be served , anyway we tried this place ,as you walk in there is a couple glass fronted counters , crammed with a large variety of cakes, the place was very busy , but there did seem to be a fast turnaround, there is a comprehensive menu to choose from , and also the hot food you select is made to order we had a selection of pizza the night before and went back to try breakfast the following day , you go back and collect your order and the food was piping hot and of a high standard , whilst there you must try one of their cakes , excellent . The location is very central also, and considering it was busy it was clean and tidy with no mess left on tables.

Great place!

By cher24 |

We went in for breakfast as we were passing. It was a great simple no nonsense kind of place. Staff were really efficient and friendly. We had omelette and fried potatoes and toast and coffee for 2 and it was only $20. A great find, varied menu and well worth a visit.

Old stale cake

By sencertraveller |

Had the dryest most stale piece of chocolate cake here. Got it to go so couldn't bring it back and complain.

A good pancake breakfast

By Kenresa S |

You can get everything in this small but popular place. The fact that it's popular gave me a good impression. I had chocolate chip pancakes with fruit. A whopping three pancakes and a medium fruit salad and the best fresh apple juice I've ever drunk. Would recommend this for a quick stop breakfast en route to sightseeing or shopping.

Lovely family run diner

By helenandpaul13 |

We went here for some early coffee and cake. My wife had some chocolate cake and a Diet Coke while I had the Black Forest Gateau with coffee. The place appears to be run by a Spanish family who appear to be prospering in the city and good luck to them. They have a lovely store, selling lovely products and the service was great. They also sell breakfasts but we did not choose this option as our hotel provided everything for us. Great place, just below Times Square.

Great Cookies and Pastries

By RitaMarieAzarcon |

Bread Factory in New York City has a wide array of great cookies and pastries. Prices are reasonable. The place is crowded when we visited and we had to make our way to the counter. The staff are not too friendly but the food is definitely good.

Good pancakes. Meh, expensive cookies

By NCMichelle |

Near our hotel. Ordered pancakes and bacon to go. Was good. Ordered a half lb of cookies, various small types from bakery. All very so so. Tasted the same. Kinda bland.

Amazing pancakes

By Sophia |

I had fruit on pancakes and they were amazing! It was really confusing to order and they serve you them on foam plates with plastic forks but other than that really good for the price

Great place to stop on the way to Penn Station

By RAKfromMD |

I was in NYC for a girls weekend! We were shopping at Macy's and wanted a place up get some food for the Amtrak train back to MD. We stopped in here and we were very pleased. They had different stations to get salads, pastas and stir fry. I loved create your own salad. Two of my friends had the pizza and said it was also good. They have ample seating inside if you want to stay and eat. We did not get desserts, but they had a nice variety and selection.

The Bread Factory Cafe

By flutts |

We discovered this place by accident one morning, and ended up going back practically every day we were there! There were plenty of locals eating in there, and it was great value for money. The bagels were amazing

Quick stopover

By Dianep |

Went in for a short stop on our way. Ack to Times Square. They were pretty busy.Seems you can get anything from bread, salad, soup and a full meal, which is cooked while you wait. And of course bread and cakes, and biscuits .We had coffee and chocolate chip cookie. Both were good.Sounds simple but have tasted other Chocolate chip cookies that were not good. So for a quick stop this was ok.

shocking

By Nichola W |

shocking ...paper plates and plastic knife and fork food was like something the cat dragged in 😡 tasteless and messy

A good fast lunch

By HostaLover |

The Bread Factory Cafe is an excellent choice if you are looking for a quick lunch. Many choices of pizza, sandwiches, salads, roll-ups and pastry. When we stopped here for lunch, my daughter had a slice of sausage/pepperoni pizza - she said it was very good. I had a small, individual apple tart. <I know, but what the heck, I was on vacation!>It was delicious. This place is noisy and the tables are very close together, but if you're in a hurry and not looking for atmosphere..it's ideal.

Great Place to Eat!!

By Andre_Thompson |

Wonderful place to eat. Different kinds of food: Italian, Stir Fry, etc. Lots and lots of desserts : Tiramisu, cakes, cookies, brownies, macaroons. Fresh brewed coffee. Credit card machine doesn't work sometimes though.

Nice place

By JohnPaul78 |

Went in for a snack and a tea. Food cooked to order at the rear and it has a breakfast bar area too. Reasonable prices as well.

Awesome desserts and coffee

By paleesh94 |

Really awesome iced lattes, cakes, danishes, and cannolis. We got the black forest and chocolate mousse cakes, and a cheese danish - all really good. There was no wait either, even on the weekend.

Great choice, fresh food

By Helen S |

We found this place by accident but were very impressed by the choices of menu and the reasonable price. The food looked fresh and appetising and the cases were delicious.

They need to get their act cleaned up - Hair in my food ??? yuck

By shaquoyw |

i usually order lunch from here but lately for lack of proper and sanitary conditions i received a black hair nicely wrapped around my steak in my stir fry. I called and complaint to have a new order and it took them almost one and half hours to get the re-order. the girl was rude when i called to check on it and i couldn't understand why the long wait - she said they had to get all orders out before mine ( HUH ????) i ordered first and it should have been priority - Now every time i order it's missing something or the sauce on the items are spilled out etc. (Revenge ??? ) Well I guess no more Bread factory in my future. They need to get their act cleaned up !!!!!

Good location mediumervice.

It is on the 7th avenue. You can eat good bağrları but the önbellekten are not so good. Conference was better 3 years ago....

Dry inside on a rainy night with good food.

By FLSteve72 |

We were on our way to have dinner and the rain was so bad we just gave up. We jumped inside to a nice warm place that served great dinner! I was unsure if my 4 year old would like the pasta buy he ate it all. Great fast dinner at a very reasonable price.

the cookies had to have been DAYS old

It was extremely old pastries! and cookies........................................................................................................................................................................................................................

Very reasonable priced good food at Herald Square

By Matrix Math |

The service model is abit confusing. First you order your food from chef. He will then give you a handwritten square piece of paper slip with a number. Then you walk to the cashier at the front to pay with the slip. The cashier will stapler a bill/receipt on the slip. You get your plastic utensils from the cashier. After that you wait at the counter with the other customers for the Chef to call you. Amazingly the Chef remember everything ordered by every customers. Without referring to the slip or verifying with the slip, the Chef will call you out to pass you the food in paper plates.

Exceptional

By Giztheo |

What a brilliant place for breakfast and lunch We came from the U.K. to New York for 5 days and ate in here most mornings and one lunch Friendly, quick and really tasty food Exceptionally clean and prices were so cheap compared to other delis. Give them a visit

Breakfast entries big enough for two

By Tardigrade |

It's a bit confusing the first time - you order at one place, where you get a ticket that you take to the cashier, then they call when your order is done. A wide range of breakfast and grab-and-go foods. Nothing exceptional, but reasonable food at a good price. Breakfast portions are large: we ended up splitting a sausage role. The place is geared for take-out, so seating is limited.

Good place for breakfast on the go

By travelophil |

This place is good for grabbing a quick breakfast on the go. It offers choices of combo breakfast varying on the type of bread, egg, meat and beverages. Also has a good fresh deli counter of fruits, sandwiches, bakery and granola. This is self service cafe with fast over the counter service and friendly to the pocket.

Top Notch Pizza and lots of choice for lunch/dinner

By ontheroadagain09_9 |

I have to admit that I was a bit suspicious about a recommendation from a local about this cafe/deli. Just had a slice for lunch, which was phenomenal. Crisp thin crust, just the right amount of sauce and ample pepperoni. The vegetarian pizza looked equally good. As I walked to the back of the cafe, I saw pastas, chinese foods, sandwiches, and on...This definitely is on our list for next trip.

Tres sympa and homemade

By Gabrielle V |

Nice little bakery with a large offer of breakfast bakery, fruits, cakes cookies and French patisserie :-) We enjoyed the lively ambiance and very friendly service

Good breakfast!

By Kris B |

Very flavorful breakfast muffins, with many varieties to choose from. Pleasantly surprised of all they had to offer: pastries, cookies, juice, coffee, cereal, even made to order breakfast foods. It was so tasty we went back the second day! Store was clean and staff was friendly.

Yummy!

By Deborah K |

Fab, can eat in or take out, I choose to take out on 2 occasions as our hotel was just around the corner, I choose turkey cranberry roll one day and was surprised to see chips & a very nice sauce included separately in the box, it really was yummy! there coffee is also excellent. thy have a huge choice here, Pitzzas also lovely would highly recommend, also beautiful cakes & deserts,

Come here for pasta.

By 88_elwood_88 |

The stir fry pasta is what I would call ugly delicious. It can easily be as good if not better than any other classy sit in restaurant. It is served hot and steaming with generous servings. The staff are friendly, multi cultural and the place is kept reasonably clean. Was always able to get a table, even though we travelled in a group of 9. Leave a big tip! I came here 3 Times.

New Years fay

By PrincessMarie82 |

I was in NYC for New Years and stopped in this cafe after we left time square. I had plenty of time to kill since my bus to philly wasn't coming until 7am. The cheese cake was great and so was the atmosphere. The weather was in the mid 30's range and it was nice and toasty inside. I'll be in town next month I plan of bringing back a lot of treats.

Best Find in Manhattan

By Brenda S |

This was such a great find for breakfast. Fast and yummy. You know when the local law enforcement are coming in in droves, it’s a good place. They have much more besides breakfast but that’s what we ordered. We’ll definitely try it for lunch, too.

Lots of choice

By Pradip T |

lots of choice took us 5 mins to decide what to have. The staff were friendly and did not ask us to hurry or pressure

Alright breakfast

By Gobinderjit K |

Nice place with plenty of seating. We ordered breakfast which took a while longer than expected (wasn't busy). Quite generous with the portions and reasonably priced. Quick and easy breakfast if you fancy something other than mcdonalds/Wendy's.

Good for breakfast or to pick up some bread and pastries

By Dawn L |

I work on 7th Ave. so when I walk from the Port Authority to my office, I stop in. There is usually a person standing outside giving out mini muffins which is a nice touch. I usually order a No.2 -bacon, egg and cheese on sour dough bread. Very good for $2.95. Bacon, egg and cheese on a roll is excellent too for $3.50. Their muffins, breads and pastries are baked on premises and are always a good bet. They also serve lunch. The café is very clean and well staffed which is great when you have to grab something and run. Worth a stop especially if you are visiting NYC. Things can get pretty pricey. You will get more bang for the buck. Enjoy

All good

By bez_ludov |

Both breakfast and lunch are very good and fast. Good choice of various hot food, salads and snacks, all at reasonable price

Amazing bagels and breakfast

By Karolina W |

I had the salmon bagel with cream cheese and all toppings you want my partner had the breakfast sandwich which he loved and the tea breakfast tea was perfect I can highly recommend coming here staff are brilliant quick polite and helpful. This is my 2nd time in nyc and if I come back I will return here straight here

Nice place for a break and a quick bite

By Mark L |

Just a block or two from Penn station, we stumbled in here for a beer. All of the fresh baked goods were impossible to resist. I had the pumpkin cheesecake which was excellent. But they also offered sandwiches, stir fry and pasta dishes, all made to order. Upscale fast food at prices that were extremely reasonable for a Manhattan eatery.

Excellent quick food

By greycats |

How often do you find a place that serves Italian, Asian, and Latin food and does them all well? We were a party of eight looking for a quick dinner near our hotel before the theater. We each had something different and all raved about our dishes! The prices also can't be beat. There is plenty of seating or you can take your food to go. I will definitely stop by here again next time I'm in the area.

nice variety reasonably priced!

By Lar |

Looked like an interesting place, passing by Saturday evening, stopped in, had shrimp stir fry. As others stated, very reasonably priced, and quite a varied selection to pick from. The place was very busy, but there was not enough seating to accommodate everyone, as it's not a very big place. Also, as it was my first time there, I found the ordering and payment procedure not very clear. You need to get someone's attention behind the counter, place your order, and then you are given an amount written on a small piece of paper you hand to the cashier at the front, then return to the counter you ordered, and wait. My food was tasty, though very salty. I chose the ginger and black bean sauce, with white rice that was cooked but not warm.

Breakfast in NYC

By Teresa M |

I was pleasantly surprised on the delicious variety of breakfast choices this cafe had to offer. The coffee was delicious too! They also offer lunch menus and takeout. If I stayed longer in NYC I would definitely return. Prices are very reasonable too.

Yummy pizza and delicious cheesecake!

By holllywood38 |

They sell pizza by the slice in this little café. There are many varieties to choose from. I got red, green and jalapeno slice. It was tasty! The desserts are to die for! They have many treats to satisfy your sweet tooth. There are several pastries, cookies, cakes and cheesecakes to choose from. I got the Oreo cheesecake. It tasted as good as it looked.

Not bad, not great

By NCHS80 |

Had a quick lunch at this location with my family. The food was pretty good, prices average. It took a long time to get a grilled cheese sandwich for my son, which he rated as "pretty good." I had two slices of eggplant pizza which was also "pretty good," although I've had better at Bertucci's. I also had a slice of Carrot Cake for desert, which was pricey, and not as moist as I had hoped. Not bad, not good, but wished I had tried another lunch place.

Two NYPD Officers told us "You can't go wrong here."

By SinclairSassanach |

We were looking for a late-night dessert on the way back to our hotel by Herald Square after walking the City. We had rejected a substantial number of other places when we came upon The Bread Factory Cafe. Two NYPD Officers were inside waiting for their pizza slices to come out of the oven. When they saw us looking around they were quick to tell us we could not go wrong there. They were so right. We thoroughly enjoyed our desserts and the friendliness of the staff. This is a "go-to" for our future trips.

Nice breakfast place

By ELO |

We ate breakfast here One day in New York. They make the food while You look. They making it fast. They have an own breakfast-menu and lunch-menu. We ordered pancakes and sandwich. The prices Are lowe.

Huge range of fresh food

By 709TAM |

We were looking for something cooked fresh for dinner and tried this place. My daughter had a stir fry where she chose all the ingredients, and I had a pasta dish. Both were delicious. They have a huge range of pastry items, great place to eat in ot take away, so much choice!

Great Bagels!!

By Curlygal999 |

We stumbled on this cafe, while trying to find another bagel place recommended by our hotel. When we saw the size of the bagels we just had to try them. My father had never had a bagel and he is now hooked on cinnamon ones, as they were amazing and we came back three times. Yes its not fancy decor, but sometimes thats where you get the best food. Also a decent cup of english breakfast tea, unlike the Starbucks ones we tasted - highly recommed.

Fantastic food

By Atxbyea |

Really good pizzas (great sizes too) with a great variaty of types and toppings. Also the cheesecake was probably one of the best I have ever tasted!

Stir fry

By Valerie M |

At this restaurant you get a choice of meat and vegetables to make whatever stir fry you wish with whichever sauce you, choose. All ingredients are fresh and it's cooked for you in front of your eyes and is as good as it looks. By far the best meal we've had in New York. Well worth a visit. to two! Were going back tomorrow!

Good turkey sandwich

By Raiders1017 |

Good turkey sandwich with quick service, fresh ingredients. Went at 9:00pm and was not too busy. Bread was excellent.

Double WOW pastries.

By RannJ |

This is a great place close to Times Square and all the theater action. Huge fresh pastries with decent prices and close to the Port Authority so easy to take home!!! Yummy!

Really good place to eat

By AngelPawsCardiff |

After another long walk around New York, we found the Bread Factory Cafe. What a find! Fabulous coffee and hot chocolate, tasty sandwiches freshly made while we watched and a selection of the most delicious pastries. We watched them making a stir fry dish which smelt fantastic, and the salad selection was huge. Definitely worth a visit.

Happy we found this place!

By sarahjw2616 |

We were renting an apartment right down the street from this restaurant and had to walk by it multiple times everyday to get places. Finally after about the third day we decided to stop in and see what they had and we were so glad we did. The cheesecake was to die for and the soups were really good too. My family all got some kind of pastries and they were really happy with them. The girls working in there were very friendly and helpful. Prices were average. I will definitely be back next time I am in NYC. Great find!

Free muffins!

By Amy I |

Came here one morning after they were giving out free mini muffins. It is slightly confusing working out how to order your food, as you go to the chef first, then the counter to pay. They do breakfast packages so we both had the pancakes, coffee and juice one which was just under $10. It’s cheaper than Andrews but the coffee isn’t as nice and the food comes on paper plates. It is good food though so worth a visit for breakfast

Five star food

By John L |

Great breakfast friendly staff eat in or take away. Highly recommend would use again if we come back to New York for a visit.

Bread Factory Cafe - what a great find!!!

By Wayne B |

I’ve been to New York twice and eaten lots of pizza and this is easily one of the very best. Great food, value and staff. Highly recommend this place.

Good food with plenty of choices.

By Lawrence S |

I am not a big salad guy but I have been trying to eat healthier lately and when I walked in and saw the size of the large salad and choices from kale, spinach, iceberg and romaine to name a few. You can choose many toppings and dressings. The Pizza is good and the sweets rate up there also. Many more choices for food and lots of good sweets. Excellent choice for a large group.

A great find!

By Kirsty M |

This cafe and takeaway has a whole range of food from healthy egg white omelettes and salads to sweet treats. I think the cafe is underestimated considering the quality and price. It is certainly one of my personal favourites. It's really central to the tourist areas, and we found it while walking to the world trade centre from Downtown. A must visit

Good selection of food, fair price, good taste

By CZLai |

Came here for dessert, and they have a good selection of it. Not too too expensive, but it is definitely good for your money and taste bud.

Somewhat disappointing

By noturns2 |

We stopped at the Bread Factory on a recent trip to NYC. We had actually tried "Best Bagel and Coffee", but they were full and quite busy so we dropped into the Bread Factory. The signage for the lines was not clear and we wound up getting yelled at to move to the right entrance into the roped off area, which of course was not marked with any signs. At that point I just went to the other counter and got a pastry and a coffee. My wife stayed in line and had a breakfast sandwich, which she said was good. My muffin was dry and not at all tasty, and the coffee was average at best. There are much better places to stop for breakfast in the area, so I recommend trying a different spot.

Good Food but workers are the Worst!!!

By guapo69 |

This place is around the block from my office so i go there all the time, the only reason i go there is because of their bagel sandwiches. thats it. the most annoying thing abou the place is the fact that their entire staff barely speaks english and they complain about the tourists who dont speak english so thats pretty funny in itself but the issue is that they waste time trying to decipher what customers want which increases your wait time. The next annoying thing is that this place is not quick, after you put your bagel order in you can either wait for the sandwich and then wait on a long line to pay or you can go to the register and tell them what you got and they make up the price usually more than it should be. thats the worst part of this store no one knows the prices and depending on who is ringing you up the price of the same item fluctuates. I have paid as little at $3 and as much as $6 for the same bacon egg and cheese sandwich. The other annoying thing is that since there is always a line of people waiting for food it gets annoying walking around. this restaurant would benefit greatly by a pad system where you can build your own sandwich with prices on the pads, so you know how much everything is and they can cut down on the interaction with moronic tourists. Also some english speaking employees woulnt hurt.

Great for Fast Food that's Not like Fast Food!

By Helena and Greg W |

We ate here a couple of times during our stay because we were in a hurry and wanted something good, not just a burger and fries! I had quiche and salad one time and soup and panini another. Excellent array of fresh choices, salad toppings from choice of cheese to fresh peas. The desserts are amazing, couldn't resist and had to splurge! Great fresh food for a reasonable price with out the wait in a restaurant! Defininetly a place to stop for food if you are tired of burger and fries on the go! And the staff were very helpful and patient with us! Kudos!

not bad

By maxmyamason |

got breakfast here one morning. quality food at a decent price

Food is OK - Prices are excellent!

By Salma A |

The foid is ok: we had 3 pizza slices, 2 garlic knots bread and a strawberry cake for desert for 15$. Pizza was thin and good!

A Gigantic Cookie

By Sunny P |

We passed this place and threw the window, so these enormous cookies. Had to go and get one or two. They had several choices and the woman serving was very polite explaining that everything was made fresh on site. I think at $2 each, you cannot go wrong and they tasted beautiful too. The sandwiches and bread all looked fresh.

good for a quick bite

By dshochet |

Nice find for a quick meal before getting on a train at Penn Station. Just a few blocks north of Penn Station on 7th. Lots of choices from hot meals, to salad, to pasta to Asian stir fry as well as a grab and go section. We got the Asian stir fry. You pick a base and pick your add ins and sauce and then they make it to order. The produce was fresh and everything was very tasty but they were out of several items on the list of veggies. The tables were clean but the whole place in general feels a little dirty. Not too bad though. I would return if I needed to grab something before train.

Great place for breakfast and amazing pizzas

By AdvisorMatt |

Went to this amazing place twice for breakfast while in New York only down the road from Times. Great prices only $3 for a bacon bagel, great tasting food and nice atmosphere in the restaurant. Also went there for lunch and brought a pizza for four of us ($20) it was massive really tasting and filling. Great this before a flight back to the UK. If your on a budget or want a quick but tasty bite this is the place. These guys need a visible tip jar!

Excellent breakfast & also for a quick slice of Pizza!

By trvldog |

We stopped here twice. First time for breakfast and we were very impressed. Husband ordered omelet with fried potatoes, I had bagel, cream cheese, orange juice and water. Cost total was aprox. $13.00 - CHEAP for NYC. The potatoes were some of the best I have ever had anywhere. We stopped back a couple days later as we just wanted a slice of pizza. We each had one, very tasty. A great place if you want cheap good eats!!

excellent food

By tammie b |

I found this place three years ago and whenever I’m in the city, I come here. They have outstanding food. They have almost everything you want. The food is very good. The service is excellent. I come here every morning for a bagel when I’m in the city, I literally walked past like 4 to 6 bagel places just to get here, it’s worth it. Their food is just outstanding. They’re hot. Food is good too. Don’t go anywhere else. Just come here reasonable prices and very good food. Don’t pass it up. whatever you want, they have! And it’s tasty..

Good value

By Travelguymichigan |

I arrived in New York hungry after having to catch an early flight. Unfortunately at 10am I was no longer hungry for breakfast. No problem. I had the New York sandwich. Very good right amount of onions and peppers to be flavorful accompanied by a bag of chips and a bottle of water for under $11.
