Like some of the other reviewers we saw this on Food Network. We called for reservations for dinner because it is pretty popular. The restaurant is small fits about 32/35 people (very intimate) but isn't it all about the new experience. We would go back YES! Of course, we all ordered the hamburger ( I was shamed into it, I was going to try something else) Every person that evening in the restaurant - everyone ordered the burger. But I was strictly going for the Duck Confit Poutine and I was not Disappointed. We love duck and this was fabulous. Cheesy and tasty - I poured the gravy over my burger too. We ordered our burgers Medium Rare because that is the way we like it. The burgers were very good - clean flavors of the beef with no spices or fillers. Now the hamburger roll could be amped up a bit but I get it all about the steakhouse burger! The staff was on spot and I thought personable. No complaints definitely make a return trip.

Ok, we went here solely because of the food networks vote for the #2 burger in the USA. I don't think this was the case. The burger was good, but not that great. The fries were great. The service was slow. The place was dead. The water was hotter than hell. The soda cans are warm and when they put in the ice, it melts the ice. Doesn't make sense. The place is real small. The bathroom fits half a person. Not really all that, but burger is worth a try once, just once.

I strongly recommend this cozy restaurant in East Village if you want to taste a delicious burger, drinking a good beer. Staff is young and friendly, location is easy to find and reach, good prices.

I know every review mentions the burger, but it was my sole purpose of coming here after seeing it on DD&D! The burger truly is worth it. The flavor from the fat ratio is on point. Ordered it medium (as recommended). I think the onions they put on is like the icing on a cake, I just wish they'd put more on. They also make their own hot sauce, which I only recommend if you could really take the heat. It's super hot, but delicious. Service could be a bit friendlier, as it seems no one working actually wanted to be there.

Hi, You charged me for someone else's bill on Thursday May 26th, around 7pm. When I pointed it out I was told the other bill was refunded and was then charged for my bill. The refund for the other bill hasn't come back into my account. So, what next?

We saw The Brindle Room on the Food Network which rated it as the #2 burger in the US, and they were right. Had a late lunch to avoid the crowd and had the restaurant almost to our selves. It's very small and I'm sure there is a huge wait in the evening hours, so go early to enjoy! The burger was perfectly prepared and the fries were equally as awesome! It no frills, and it's not needed. Definitely one of the best burgers I've every had......check it out for yourself! You won't be disappointed.

The burgers - their calling card - were excellent. Smaller than I expected, but delicious. The burger comes with American cheese and grilled onions on a soft bun, with very good hand-cut fries. At $18, some may feel it's a bit high for a burger, but it was amazing. There is homemade hot sauce on the table - be forewarned, it is extremely hot. After dinner, chef sent over a couple of delicious hot donut holes (w/powdered sugar and maple syrup)....a perfect way to end the meal. Brindle Room burgers are definitely up there with the best burgers in NYC.

I think the decor is brindle, then again I always thought that was a colour for dogs; the brindle room however is no dog. Sat at the bar under the care of the bartender, Mr J. Hart - the burger has a big, and deserved, reputation - however, the smoked wings *really* shine, along with their homemade hot sauce. Don't let all the native New Yorkers put you off - it's worth a visit.

Went off of some reviews and we were looking for a good cheese burger so we decided to try Brindle room. Atmosphere is very nice, very clean, service was great and we did make reservations so we got seated right away. It is small but while we were there, it was busy but not overly crowded. I did see a few people come in for take out. They have a small bar area also. We started off with some appetizers, we got the Pork Poutine and chicken wings. Both were excellent. I would definitely recommend getting those. My wife got the Arugula salad and said it was excellent. My sons and I tried the cheese burger based on the reviews. For our taste I would say the cheese burgers were average and not the mouth watering boy I need another one burger. It was good, but it did not live up to hype and what I was hoping for. I got the burger how they recommended. Medium and in my opinion it was a little tough and not a lot of flavor even with the cheese and onions on it. The fries they served with it were excellent. Thicker fries with good seasoning. Over all very good experience and dinner. If we would stop back, I would try something other than the cheese burger for my personal taste and experience. Finally they finished the meal with some donut holes. They were a great small dessert to finish the meal. Enjoy!

Not sure why this place was given the honor of Best Burger in NYC. It was good but certainly not the best. And the service was awful. The servers were rude, couldn't get an order right, and just really didn't seem to care.

Literally the best burger I've ever had! Found this place through an online search on the best burger places in NYC. It used to be a "secret" dish and they didn't have it on the regular menu, but now you can find it there as well. Highly highly recommend! Excellent service, and nice vibes for dinner as well!

After I saw it on diners drive-ins and dives, I knew I had to try it out the next time I was in NYC. French fries with duck confit were out of this world! Rich, though. Could have been a meal unto itself. And the burger...you must have it. It melts in your mouth. No out of the ordinary ingredients--taste comes mainly from cut of meat and technique And don't sweat the plain roll. The chef does it on purpose so it all smooches together. It really is one of the best burgers ever. No exaggeration.

We wanted a light meal before our flight and wanted to avoid the usual fast food outlets. So we were pleased to find The Brindle Room, slightly beyond. We ordered a cheese flatbread and marinated olives, and were pleasant surprised by the amount of olives that were served, as well as the presentation. All really delicious!

Went with my son on a burger test. Very very good burger. See headline for reco. Order with beer and u have perfect meal. Place is very very small.

Burgers and fries done to perfection. Suggested parings with each entree, and a menu with extras that are hard to resist... The restaurant is well known, crowded and small, but they aim to please and you will be glad you stayed. Staff were friendly and capable. Would definitely return.

Brindle Room is tucked away on the Lower East side of Manhattan. You won't be walking by, you have to know where to go. And it is worth it. Located on the main floor of a typical NYC building, it is long and narrow with the bar in the back for a change. Unassuming and cozy bests describes the interior. But who goes out for the view; we went for the food. Five of us were tucked next to the bar in the largest table in the place. We started with calamari with the usual sauces. Crisp, warm and very tasty. The big surprise of the evening was the smoked chicken wings to share. Wonderful flavor without any sauce and evidence of the owner/chef's Oklahoma heritage and smoked on site. The main course featured their signature steakhouse burger. It was large, accented with cheese and served on a fresh bun. The pulled chicken was served in a bowl with couscous and veggies. My pasta with clams and shrimp was just spicy enough. The two dinners came with a glass of house California wine. Nice touch, served in jelly jars. Unfortunately, we ate so much we could not consider dessert. We were served anyway. Small, bite-sized pastry puffs with caramel sauce. I suggest you check the web site for the Blue Plates Specials. Something wonderful every night.

Loved the atmosphere and the burger was delicious! Was a little on the small side but it did not detract from my time there. Will be back for sure in the future to sample their beers.

Tracked this down after seeing it on Triple-D. Was really looking forward to the poutine, unfortunately now with pork, not duck. Other than that, very tasty. Had their version of Steak and Frites. Generous portion, above average fries. Food was good, service quick. Small place, but not too crowded nor loud. Loved the overall experience.

The food (when you finally get it) was really good especially the Duck Confit Poutine. Unfortunately, they got our drink order wrong, then brought the wrong bottle of wine before finally bringing the wine we order. Then they didn't bring our food. When I finally asked about it, our server checked and they didn't even have the order that the girl with blue hair took from us. So they took the order again and gave us a free appetizer. When we mentioned this to the people next to us (close quarters with one long string of tables), the guy said, "Oh yah, I have to remind them 2 or 3 times before they finally bring my food". So if you are ready to remind the server about your order multiple times then go to the Brindle Room because the food is really pretty good.

Visited this restaurant after seeing it on DDD. The duck confit poutine and cheeseburger were definitely amazing!!! The restaurant is small with a young, "hipster" vibe. We were loving the choice of music (90's hip hop). Fun if you're in your 20's or 30's. The service lagged a little - we never got the donuts we asked for. Would still return though!

After seeing the brindle room rated second by a travel expert I said I must visit on my trip to NY, I took two train a bus and walked four blocks to find the place, I was though very disappointed, their was one attendant taking care of all the guest the meal took about 20 min, there special brindle smoothie was awful and the Berger to me is rated a one out of five.

Absolutely delicious burgers! They come with fries or kale salad. Great beer selection. Must make reservations, extremely small eatery and very popular. Wonderful service.

We ordered the sirloin burger and wings. They were both excellent. The atmosphere was cozy and I mean that literally as the tables are up against each other. We ate dinner beside a local couple. It was fine though because they gave us tips on other restaurants in the city. I would definitely go back. It was a great burger.

I went to this place for the burger it seems to be famous and known for. I travelled 35 mins on the subway for it and I had high expectations - they were met so I can't complain :) The bar is pretty small but has a good atmosphere, I sat at the bar And ordered the steak burger medium to well (which is how I like it) and it comes with fries........ When it first came out I was like 'this is what the fuss is about...this is one of the best burgers in NYC??'. It looked small in comparison to alot of burgers I've seen and had previously. It looked very simple. It's just served with America. cheese n some onion slaw I think it's called here (I'm from the uk). Anyway when I took my first bite I realised what the fuss is about. The burger is so soft and fluffy, cooked to absolute perfection and it's unlike anything I've had before. Normally I have to add ketchup and maybe mayonnaise but this was great just how it was. Also the fries are thick and home made and have some skin on which helps make them crispy and we're also very nice. Great burger. Great service. Great place. Only negative would be $7 for a bottle of Stella which seemed excessive.

I arrived there at 4:30 pm, they told me that they open at 5 pm, so I left and came back at 5. I ordered the burger and the duck poutine. Both of them were amazing.

Just paid $28.29 for two half pints of beer. Enough said When we sat down at a table we were told we couldn’t sit there gladly not be back

What can I say 12 dollar beer (RIP off) fish n chips was like eating a cardboard box, beer battered it said more like battered and deep fried until it submits. Just dont eat here cheap nasty knock food for 24 dollars a plate

Tried Food Network's #2 Ranked Best Burger, the Sebastian's Steakhouse Burger. It was so simple and so good! The burger made me think of the homemade burgers that I had as a child. I also got an order of the Smoked Chicken Wings, which were excellent as well.

I only had the burger and fries, so hard to really give a full review. While the burger was very good, it was not close to being the best in the US, as I believe one person stated on the show. The place was nearly empty at 10pm on a Tuesday. I would try again if in the neighbourhood, but wouldn't make a special trip.

Lovely venue for dinner, the staff were very helpful and the food was great! I would definitely recommend this.

We enjoyed our meal here - maybe a tad expensive for what you get, but we were pleased overall. Hubby got the burger (I think this is their specialty) and I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs. I would recommend making a reservation - we did not but the host was able to squeeze us in. It is a tiny little restaurant, like many in the area.

This place has very good food and is very small (approx 30 seats). If you are going, make a reservation. The burger was terrific and the penne and sausage was a winner. Everything was tasty, well-presented and, for New York, fairly priced. The service was fine although a printer malfunction delayed our meal (the server was very apologetic). When we arrived, sans reservation, there was only room at a wall-bar but part way through, a table opened up and they offered to move us there, which was appreciated. It is a good 15 minute walk from the closest subway stop so be prepared or take a cab.

Attn Management. Today, 5.27.24 at approximately 5:34 PM at Brindle in JFK Terminal 7, I experienced unacceptable behavior from two of your employees. One was a female with dreadlocks, and the other was a male with a shaved head. I ordered through your app, but my minor daughter purchased pizza from another establishment, as you were OUT OF PIZZA. Your employees were rude and disrespectful, cursing at me and insisting she could not eat there without a plate. This behavior is unacceptable. As a paying customer, I expect to be treated with respect. I demand an apology and that these employees be held accountable for their actions. Furthermore, if this is your policy, it should be clearly communicated to customers. No need to be rude, disrespectful or lie. I asked his name -- and was immediately declined, then told his name is Garfield.

Service was basically none existent. NOT up to usa standards we expect expecially for the tip they want took 45mins to get adrink and trying to order food was ages to get anyone to acknowledge us .Even though there was plenty of staff but seem to like hiding and talking with backs turned from customers and when seen just looked other way very poor standards .

I have used this place before for pre flight hydration. It has always been pricey - possibly due to airport concession costs. However the wine is always of a good quality and you can usually get a seat and charge up your devices.

The one dollars oysters during happy hour set the stage for an amazing burger that just melted in my mouth. Juicy, fresh, and made to my specifications. The home made sangria finished it off. Fries were a little soggy.

We visited The Brindle Room as part of our Diners, Drive-ins and Dives quest, and weren't disappointed (though it didn't really fit into any of those 3 categories). The food we had was quite filling despite being billed as a shared appetizer and 2 small plates, so much so that we didn't end up having another meal later in the evening like we had originally expected. We had the duck confit poutine, smoked chicken wings, and warm roasted beets. While all were good, the duck confit poutine stood out as being especially delicious. Decor and atmosphere was nice, though it was a bit on the loud side for having a conversation.

Travelling all day so we were all tired, thirsty and hungry. Placed an order from the QR code. After 25mins we went and asked for our drinks and food. Staff seemed to be getting complaints from all around the bar. Terrible service and when the loaded fries arrived it was as if they'd been in the oven when we arrived in New York a week previous. Shocking experience and a 20% tip automatically added for poor service.

My wife and I were doing a little foodie tour on our own and trying different things at different restaurants. After seeing the Brindle Room on the Food Network we made a stop for the burger. It didn't disappoint. Cooked to medium perfection and a side of chip wagon fries. The burger was so good it didn't need any condiments. We also had the fig salad also a great bite. The service was excellent and brought us a complimentary salted caramel doughnut. My wife said best burger she's ever had I say almost a tie with my other spot. A must go!

Burger was good, above average but not the best. The problem was how filthy and rundown the interior is. We sat in a booth, a the little wall ledge next to booth had a heavy layer of grease and dust. I ran my napkin over a few inches of the ledge- see napkin pic. It was almost hard to sit inside because the was so many flies, they were hard to ignore. Windows were filthy and pile of junk by bathroom. I’m surprised for a place that seems to be well liked it’s not taken care of- dirty is just unacceptable.

What can you say about a place like this? Their food is always terrific, and they have a homemade hot sauce called PGB (yeah, ask your server what it *really* stands for). I went with the Veggie Lasagna - it was delicious! We also got the lentil appetizer, fantastic! Friends got burgers which they loved and we shared a few other sides. Enjoy!

If you are looking for an intimate setting with well prepared food, this place is great. Very small space and a limited menu but the prices are reasonable and the food is delicious. The chicken wings were a favorite and I loved my fish!

JFK terminal 7 eateries are grim to say the least, but this looked promising. How wrong we were. Overpriced and poor food and service. The good on the plane was superb in comparison. Complaint made to 2 members of staff which was ignored and not removed from the bill despite most of the food being untouched.

Thrillist was correct in saying the Brindle Room had a terrific burger. Order it and take the chefs advice. Also please please make reservations. The place is very small, but don't let that stop you. Great beer selection. Only had the bringer and fries so can't give more info on menu although seat neighbors had the Calamari appetizer and wolfed it down.

Have eaten here twice in the last few months and planning to head there again in a couple of weeks. It's tiny and not at all fancy, but the service is really good and the food is my idea of comfort food done right! The Duck poutine is out of this world and the burger is now high on my list of favorite burgers, not only in the city, but of all time.

I was on a hunt for the best burgers i NY and came across the brindle room on YouTube. The venue is tastefully decorated and doesn't fit too many people so make a reservation in advance. The friendly staff recommended the burger and I have to say that it was pretty good and well prepared, no complaints so far. The only negative part was the presentation. All in all, I'd recommend this place to anyone in NY that wants a good burger.

Couldn't wait to arrive in NYC and visit The Brindle Room. I read a review that talked about their Lamburger. It was very tasty and served by a friendly waitstaff. The restaurant is in a hotel, nice. The atmosphere is pub like. I was glad for the experience.

The service was ok, a bit of confusion on part of servers. Another table got my meal by mistake. Overall the food was good, airport prices, a different menu made the experience worth eating here.

The menu here have several secret plates, one of.them is a caramelized onions and mushrooms hamburger you have to try!!!

We directed ourselves to The Brindle Room yesterday for Brunch. A comfortable, cozy place with thick woods and a kind of post-hippie atmosphere. Somehow I felt at home. Not that I particularly ‘felt’ like a burger, but this is what they are famous for. Believe me, other menu choices certainly tempted me. Unreal, The Brindle Sebastian Burger - no ketchup needed. Just a couple of dots of their own golden hot sauce. No, you couldn’t talk while having it. Right amount of juicy, textured, heavenly burger. The service, by the way, was warm and hapoy to ask any questions, and any more. The chef, Jeremy Spector, came out, smiling. Two miraculous warm-coated donuts were brought to the table before our meal. Sooo good. Groovy-homey. Return and return.

In a city of never ending burger places this one stands out. Their burger is made in a cast iron skillet which gives it a very distinctive taste. The burger is juicy and delicious. The service is very good and the atmosphere is very appealing.

Went there for mothers-day as I read it was one of the 10 best burger places in the US. Unfortunately we were all disappointed. The place is small and cozy, more student oriented. Service very unprofessional . Kale Salad was good, the burger equal or worse as in a fast burger joint. Over all the place felt dirty. So for sure a price adequate brunch but far below expectations!

Fun Place for a great Burger! The meat and caramelized onions are perfect and the AMERICAN cheese works perfectly. The house made hot sausage is HOT so use at your own risk but is delicious. The menus is limited which is a good thing. They keep it simple! The buns are nothing to write home about but they work well with the burgers because the don’t distract you from the important tastes. But the pork poutine was disappointing! The gravy was yummy and tasted homemade we couldn’t find many fries and the cheese curds weren’t really melted and were sort of congealed later we saw someone else’s and the cheese looked melted and more appealing we couldn’t tell if there were a greater fry to pork ratio but it did look more appetizing than our portion. Definitely worth returning for the burgers!

We were very happy to come for Brunch on a recent Saturday. Our overall satisfaction level was high. The food was really good as was the service. If I hadnt read all the hype about the burgers beforehand, I would have still given the restaurant 4 stars. That said, I did expect to be "wowed" by the burger and I wasn't. I've had a few that were somewhat better, but this is near the top for me. I'd also add that the frittata was excellent.

Went to the Brindle Room after reading very good reviews of their burger. It is not on the dinner menu but is available if you ask for it. It comes topped with your choice of cheese and caramelized onions as well as a side of fries for $14. I substituted a side kale salad for an additional $3 and it was well worth it. The burger was a bit overdone (ordered medium rare and it was more medium), but very juicy. The meat is cooked in a cast iron skillet and achieved a very nice crust. Quality and flavor of the beef was very good and while it was not a life changing experience, it was excellent. The have a very nice wine and beer selection and I was brought two caramel covered donut holes as a complementary dessert. What a fantastic idea! Service was prompt and friendly. All in all, it was a very good dining experience.

I am a big burger lover and on my next business trip to NY city I decided to visit this place for a lunch since i saw youtube video where the owner is promoting his steakhouse burger as something really special. I dont really care about look of the place or how professional the service is, all i wanted is good food. What I got there was a big let down. First, the size of the burger was a joke, cmon man, you cannot serve this, am a big man, it took me two and half bites to finish it, it was like some mini burger for kids under the age of 5. Second, the price. It is definetly overpriced for what you get. And the third and the most important thing, it was not tasty at all. Dont get me wrong, it was not bad taste, but it was just on pair with some fast food joints and nothing special, and i really tried a lot of burgers in my time. So as a title suggest, i left the place very disappointed and HUNGRY. Sorry Jeremy, your place could have been my favorite stop for a lunch in NY..

We had a really nice meal. We all got the burgers. Perfect temperature. Staff very nice and accommodating for allergies. Overall a wonderful experience. We will definitely go back

We have seen on YouTube a video on Making The burgers which looked amazing. We thought they tasted so good and staff are nice and friendly. Ambience in there was spot on. Would definitely recommend !!!!

Burger was delicious. Service very friendly. We went without reservations but the staff fit us in. They told us we could have the table for an hour because of another reservation, but they never rushed us. Watch for bones in the poutine, though. The staff should probably have warned us.

small but nice space, the staff are very friendly. small selection of wine and beer but what they have is good. The burger is amazing, but looking at other dishes they look great too.

Cheeseburger was raw. Not just a thin layer of raw meat in the middle, but all raw except for a very thin layer on the outside. The pop was flat and the server had an intimidating affect that discouraged any complaints. Do yourself a favor and avoid spending $50.00 for raw hamburger and flat pop.

Showed up at 4 pm and was told they are transitioning from lunch to dinner and had to wait til 5. See ya never. What a joke. Who does that

Saw it on diners driveins dives they claim to have the best burger in NY and simply said THEY DO. Wings were also great as well as the zuchini

Brindle Room JFK-T7 Visited yesterday, 3rd November. Placed order via QR code on table. Drinks came within 10 minutes but no sign of any food after 35 minutes. Spoke to a member of staff who said it was on its way. No apology given . 10 minutes later one of four meals came out. 10 minutes later the other three meals came out. In total from placing our order it took 55 minutes to get our food. Very poor customer service and even worse the bill times out after 40 minutes meaning a 20% tip is automatically applied. Total Meal was 139 dollars plus 20% tip!!!!!! Food was mediocre too. Do not go to this place but if you do allow plenty of time.

One of the best burgers I've had. It comes pretty plain and somehow still needs nothing. Great flavor, great quality. Friendly staff. Best to make a reservation, it's a pretty small place.

The burger was small and good. The fries were very good. The restaurant is small and nice designed. If you live in the neighborhood it is a good place to eat but it is not so good that you should travel for it.

Love this small East Village spot. Several fantastic dishes at brunch and dinner. The burger is amazing and while not always on the menu it is always available. Can't go wrong with the brunch menu. The interior is pretty basic, but that works fine. The staff is friendly and welcoming. Good beer options.

Deceived with the menu. It states Beef Chili with nachos and one would expect a bowl of beef chili with a side of a few nacho chips but nope, it was a plate of nachos with some chili. Nacho was chili. I told my server the menu was deceiving but she didn’t seem to care. Also, horribly slow service despite not being crowded. Took 28 minutes to get my cheque and I had to ask her three times; the last time I said I was late for my flight. Do not go to this restaurant!!

Supposedly this is one of the better burgers on the island, but unfortunately, I couldn't tell you. My reservation on a Saturday night was bumped in favor of a larger group that just walked in right before my reservation and were given our table. As a smaller group, clearly we weren't that important to them and we got bumped. Even though we had a reservation, they oh so graciously offered my group the opportunity to eat at the bar, or wait another half hour for a table. We left after that. Really disappointing and very poorly handled by the hosts/staff.

We go to New York all the time. We look up dining lists like top this and top that. This was listed as to 25 Burgers of something or another. (America or New York, really not sure). But it was on a list and we live in Philly, it's only in New York, thats a $10 bus ride to us. We were out! We stayed the weekend and went to the Brindle room for Sunday Brunch. First things first...the whole time we were there the played nothing but Beyonce. I should give them a 5 just for that...HAHA...but thats not fair so I won't. We had the steakhouse burgers with potatoes. The burgers were delicious but I think because I was going in thinking they were going to be top whatever, I was brought back down to reality. You won't be disappointed, IT IS a good burger. BUT its not the best burger you will have in your life. I have had several better.

This is a review about a delivery order from the Brindle Room. We placed an online order via Seamless on a very cold night and the estimated delivery time was 30-45 minutes. After an hour, I called to inquire and the woman who answered the phone was very nice -- she apologized for the delay, told me my order was on the way and offered to call me back in a few minutes to confirm that I received the order. I did indeed receive it a few minutes later but sadly it was ice cold. I called back to let them know and the same woman not only offered to send a replacement order right away, but she also comped everything and was exceedingly pleasant throughout. Whoever she is, she obviously excels at customer service and she, combined with the fact that the warm food was absolutely delicious (the AMAZING burger, fries and a chicken and kale sandwich), has made us loyal customers. Not only will we order again, but we'll certainly patronize the restaurant itself. This is the way to do business and get your customers to come back. Thanks you!

Four of us had dinner here. Everyone had the burger, with Italian Fries, braised Kale and Kale salad as sides.Everything was delicious. Nice atmosphere, small, but when we were there, not noisy, so that we could actually have a conversation. Service was a bit slow, but we hadn't ordered starters, so that accounts for some of that. Reasonable wine list, good selection of Beers.

This review is based on two things. The burger and the service. I came here solely continuing my NY burger quest of having all of the best rated burgers in NY. After seeing Sebastian Steakhouse Burger pop up on many top lists I knew I had to stop by. The first thing I have to say this burger has the best texture out of any burger I've ever had. The restaurant itself is small and intimate. It comes off as a place where everyone is welcome but I can definitely tell it has known regulars. The staff all seem down to earth and don't have an air of "We know we have one of the best burgers in the country." They are all welcoming, nice people. I sat at the counter and was immediately handed menus and informed of the happy hour specials, with a recommendation thrown in. I felt like if I went in there just to ask them for a restaurant recommendation they would have given it to me and not been offended. I opted for the Sangria which was house made and definitely good. The fruit soaks up the drink well and doesn't taste at all like the store bought sangrias that are just made to be social drinks. This stuff was authentic. It didn't take too long for the burger to come out and I was immediately diving head first. Before diving in though I was handed ketchup for the fries that come with it and a sauce that was described as very good but spicy. It most certainly was both. I put it on my fries along with the ketchup. I have to say, don't put it on your burger first. You need to taste this burger in its authentic form before you go sabotaging it. Plus, the fries are good enough to stand up to the flavor and heat of the sauce which compliment the burger perfectly. As for the burger, after the first bite you feel a crunch which you may not be expecting. It's due to the perfect sear the chef is able to obtain. After you bite through the outer layer which is perfect, you taste the flavor of the patty which has the texture of a tartar but cooked. It's amazing how they are able to get this contrast of textures down pat. There is American cheese on the burger which doesn't take over the taste. It is there as a passenger and you appreciate it being there. You also will appreciate the onions that come on the burger. It's not overloaded with toppings because it doesn't need to trick you due to not having a great patty. The minimal amount of toppings are there to prove to you you're eating an outstanding burger. Just phenomenal. As a kid, whenever I would eat a burger that I thought was so good the last bite I would chew about 100 times because I didn't want it to end. I found myself doing that here. To finish the meal,I was brought a small plate of complimentary doughnut holes that were perfect to finish off the meal. After I was done I paid the check and went on my merry way. I couldn't wait to tell people about this burger. If I had to rate the burger on a scale of 1 to 10 it gets a 9.5. The ONLY reason it doesn't get a 10 is because I didn't think it was big enough. I left unsatisfied and wanted another one. While on this burger quest of mine this is the first burger that left me wanting so much more based on the size. However, this is an "every week" burger in my opinion. You have to try it.

The Brindle Room is located on East 10th Street, NYC. In all fairness this place is known for their steakburgers, however the bun its served on looks like the bum you buy in the supermarket in a pkg of 6. We went to eat there March 21,2015 @3:30 pm. The day before I called to make reservations. I asked the person who answered the phone hours Lunch is served. The reply was Lunch & Brunch are served until 3:55 pm. After that the kitchen closes for one hour then opens for dinner at 5pm.& orders will be taken until 3:55 I made reservations for 3:30 pm on Saturday.. Upon arriving and getting seated we were given Brunch menus. I called the waiter and requested Lunch menus. I was told Lunch is only served Mon - Fri. and items on the Lunch menu are generally not available. on weekends. I mentioned the person answering the phone said Lunch would be served the time of my reservation. The reply was that person is new here. I will say the waiters are friendly. I then asked if I could get the 3 herb chicken sandwich. The waiter went to the kitchen and came back and said yes the cook would prepare it. They only have one kind of bread in the restaurant and that bread has seeds, which I do not eat bread with seeds. So I ordered the chicken without the bread. This dish comes with braised kale. Since I wasn't getting the bread I asked if the kale can be substituted for French Fries. The answer was no. OK So now my daughter orders the Grits & Shrimp which comes with a poached egg. Upon ordering the dish she specifies the egg be cooked semi hard. When the dish was served it looked like an appetizer size @ $11.00 The shrimp, no exaggeration, were tiny, the kind you get out of a can, the egg was runny and the Grits were not Grits, it was Polenta. which had a lump in it. My chicken was dry and basically not much taste. We called the waiter and stated the food served was not acceptable and after answering a few questions as to why. we left. without eating & did not have to pay. However, it was disappointing. In addition the place id very small. You are sitting very close to other ppl eating..Not my idea of a great restaurant. .

I was taken to The Brindle Room by a friend who had been there many times. When we walked in, I was charmed by the instant feeling of escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. Very relaxing atmosphere. My friend suggested one of their juicy burgers and some Italian Fries, with rosemary and parmesan. We argued animatedly for several minutes, as I have something against rosemary. In the past, I have not had good food experiences involving this aromatic herb. But my friend won out, and I'm SO glad he did - they were the best fries I've had in a long time! Please, please treat yourself to these, and ask for the dipping sauce. The burger was big and juicy, cooked to perfection. I liked everything so much, we went back a couple of days later for brunch. I must admit, I went to town, and we had to try many of their tasty treats. The Challah French Toast was really to die for, topped with fresh fruit, whipped cream, Nutella, and caramel, and paired with their delicious coffee (full disclosure: and mimosas!). For the main, Potato Chip Frittata was fun, with all the potato chips on top; crispy, crunchy, and filling. The biscuits and gravy were actually better than Momma makes, that homey kind of warm, filling food that makes you smile, and push away from the table quite satisfied. But wait! There are these sweet little donuts that just put the finishing touches on a most delightful - and filling - meal. My compliments to Jeremy, the chef. His care and expertise are evident in everything he makes. And the staff is friendly and efficient. They don't hang over you, but see that you are well taken care of. I will definitely go back to The Brindle Room next time I'm in NYC!

You can youtube The Brindle Room burger to see how good these burgers are. As a steak lover I appreciate good produce and these guys use a quality cut of rib-eye steak in their burgers. From start to finish the meal was pure indulgent delight. Service is friendly, the food is brilliant and the atmosphere relaxed and what you would expect for the East Village. We loved it so much that we went back again a week later and were not disappointed. As far as burgers go, I've not had one that rivals it and since being back in London I have struggled to find anything that comes close beyond Honest Burgers.

I am not a big fan of burgers, but my hubby loves burgers so I decided to give it a go. I tried the Sebastians's Steakhouse Burger and I don't regret it at all. It was the best burger ever. They also have a great atmosphere and helpful staff.

Had the Sebastian steakburger one of the best burgers I've ever had place was nice and friendly service

My girlfriend and I have a tenancy for searching out the best of the best with certain foods, OK to be fair she's the better searcher, and lately it's been all about the burger. We have been frequenting the East Village lately for some really great food spots and I set up a surprise dinner for us at the Brindle Room. The Sebastian's Steak Burger is a great, well seasoned dry-aged patty that doesn't disappoint. The meat is cooked to medium and is perfect with a hint of pink center, but it's the peppery blend of beef, steak trimmings, and "deckle", it's the fatty bits from the rib-eye (I had to look that up) that really make it stand out. Topped with a slice of American cheese, some savory sweet caramelized onions (like the ones in a great French onion soup) and served with a side of thick cut fries, it's a perfectly simple burger that packs in a whole lotta flavor. A bonus on the menu were the smokey chicken wings, meaty full wings with a flavorful rub, and charred perfectly. Make a reservation, the atmosphere is cozy, be prepared to sit close. The Brindle room is a great find for your burger bucket list.

Came here after a recommendation from a friend about the Burger. The place is very small, but has a classy atmosphere. Great for a group of friends or a date. The service was great. Our waitress was so nice, and gave suggestions on the menu. A guy (I think he was the owner) made sure we always had drinks and that we were comfortable. He even gave us free dessert! We had the duck gravy poutine, the wings, and the burger. Each one was AMAZING. I cannot say it enough, the food here is so good. The burger is one of the best burgers I've ever had, and the poutine was one of the best things I've ever tasted. Definitely will return.

Maybe we were just unlucky but the cost of this was ridiculous. Tasted like a school lunch hamburger and was barely McDonalds sized. $17 for the dried and flavorless burger with stale chips was comical. Over $60 for two burgers a small beer and a diet coke - just get the food court!

Three of us shared the incredible burger, the potato chip frittata and the challah French toast. Everything was prepared perfectly and was delicious. My only gripe was that I was charged $2.75 for a second cup of coffee without the waitstaff telling me there was additional charge.

Visiting NYC and friends who live there took us to this bar/restaurant. Said the food was simple but tasted great and they weren’t wrong. Plenty of choice of drinks/food but we merely had burgers and beers! Definitely worth it!

We visited last night with a view of having a relaxing meal. After making a reservation in advance we did not think that they would try and rush us of our table after 35 mins. The greeting was fine and we were happy with the chicken wings appetitizer. The burgers were so so. Would i say they are in the top weve had in the states then the answer would be no. Will and Jacks Burger shack in Port Isabel, TX knocks socks off them. What really upset us is that they had only just removed our plates and the check was put on the table. We hadnt asked for it or were we asked if we wanted something else...how did they know we had not wanted to order anything else??? We still had full drinks in front of us and we were made to feel very uncomfortable so I didnt even finish mine. Originally i left a good tip and then thought what for so took half of it back...shouldnt have left anything at all really. We had great expections for this restaurant and was looking forward to visiting as we had seen it on TV....would not visit again thats for sure.

We were a group of 6 & everybody thoroughly enjoyed their meals. I had the marinated chicken breast with roasted potatoes & quinoa with israeli couscous. It was one of the most delicious meals I've ever had in a restaurant! Of course, the guy who persuaded us all to go down to the east village had a burger. He was waiting for a month to get to NYC to try it...& he was not disappointed!

...and it did not disappoint. Even the veggie burger was delicious, and of course the poutine. We appreciated that the portions were perfectly sized (not too big or small)! One tiny complaint...the plastic water glasses...but that's just me.

Spoiler alert: I am head over heals with the Brindle Room. Expect a gushy review. So, this little gem on 10th street in the village is the kinda place (that luckily for me) many people walk past. In a neighborhood crammed with celeb fueled eateries (Momofuku I'm looking at you) the Brindle Room, with its unassuming entrance, calm interior, and chill atmosphere might not even register on most people radar. Effectively you have then missed one of the great meals of your life. It was so good, I even made a video about it. I was literally moved so much by this meal that my passion as a filmmaker was called into action. https://vimeo.com/39804758 Let's be frank and earnest for a sec; this is not Boulud. It is not Jean George. We are not at Per Se. Nothing has foam on it, or even a hint of truffle. What we have here is neighborhood haute cuisine at its finest. Seared Pepper Steak sandwich, house smoked chicken wings, even classic baked oysters that slide down your mouth like the caress of a warmed silk glove of a parisian lover. The menu stretches from the comforting beer battered pork belly to the more elegant venison loin, but don't be fooled; everything on this menu was created by the chef to be just good tasting and fun eating. It doesn't try to be anything that it's not and that is where you realize it is a rare find; a genuinely good place to eat that focuses on food not fame. It has been extremely hard not to mention the burger for three paragraphs. Extremely hard, but having been to the Brindle Room on multiple occasions you find out that even though they have THE BEST HAMBURGER IN THE WORLD, that the rest of their menu is stellar as well. But, let's talk about it, because, damn it's good... ... their burger is a select mixture of prime meat that incorporates the deckle cut of steak which is the most delicious cut you could put in your mouth. What? Never heard of the deckle, a.k.a. The Rib-Eye Cap? The 2nd filet of Brisket? The Pillow Cut? Well the deckle is that guy that shows up to your party that makes it the best party that ever was. The guy that, 20 years later at someone wedding you don't really know but you have a lot of mutual friends so you decide to go because you might see Charlene there and you wonder if she's got fat, and you see all your high school buds and they were like "remember that party at Tom Higgin's place when Deckle showed up in the stolen cop car a case of Goldschäger and a Billy Goat?" and you're like "remember? Do we not all have tattoo's of the date with "Deckle 4 EVA ... bhaaaaa!" on all our arms???". Yeah it's like that. More scientifically, Deckle is the back end of the Rib-Eye steak. Basically a mixture of filet and marbled fat, that, when blended in the right proportion, seared in a seasoned cask iron skillet, and then baked with soft, sweet onions and American cheese, produces a hamburger that you want to slowly rub on your face while confessing your love to it before consuming. Hence the reason they give you cloth dishtowels instead of paper napkins at the Brindle Room. You dont come for a meal; you come to make love to your food, and if done right, cleanup is always a bit messy, but always worth it. Besides delicious devourables, Brindle keeps a pretty great, albeit small, selection of craft beers and affordable wines to help libate the meal properly. They also have a brunch that might take you out for the day. It really should come with in-house cots. Monday nights is vinyl night, so if you're looking for some ear candy and mouth treats, that might be your jam. Oh yeah. They make their own doughnuts. Serious this place is a amazing. See more of my favorites at my blog www.cineclast.com Full disclosure: I have absolutely no stock in the Brindle Room. At all. This review come straight from the heart, and or perhaps stomach.

My daughter and I visited this restaurant for the first this past weekend. It is a nice, small venue which makes it comfortable and relaxing! We ordered two burgers and coffee. The staff could not be more friendly and the burgers were great at a reasonable price. The coffee is better than any of the national chains. There was absolutely no negatives to our visit to this establishment and would highly recommend it!

Wow! I just enjoyed a nice quality burger. It was a tad pricy as far as burgers go in my opinion. The music was a fine selection of oldies. The front area has a clean presentation. The bathroom was clean as well which is the first thing I generally look at. Proud to say I did not feel bloated and tired after eating here. I would eat here again but I wouldn’t go out of my way per say. All and all a tranquil experience

I saw this diner on a TV show where they claimed to have the best burgers in New York. While I cannot confirm this claim, I can highly recommend giving the place a try. The burgers are really, really good and the staff are very friendly. It is about out of the way of the main touristy bits but it is worth searching out.

My husband and I were just here. He had the fish stew and loved it . Our waiter was fantastic! I decided on light fare, the arugula salad and the quinoa side. Both were delicious !

The Brindle Room came highly recommended by just about everyone, but fell short of expectations. Very good burger (albeit pretty small and a cheap bun) with quality aged sirloin and full flavor and very good duck poutine. But this is NYC, and very good is not good enough here. Better choices abound!

WEnt on a Sunday early evening, were surprised by the very limited menu. The menu on line doesn't exist any longer, ask the waiter and he said, oh yes we haven't changed that yet. That being said, the burgers were delicious, Local beer was great. Server not to social, was more boom boom even through it wasn't busy. All in all what we ordered was good but if your not looking for a burger not much to choose from.

We had heard of the place in the Food Channel and decide to visit at lunch time to try the hamburger which is said to be great. Ans so it was. Juicy and tasty. Did not add anything (such as ketchup or mayo). It was cooked to where it was crunchy by the sear and thought it was something like bacon. Perfectly cooked and served with great fries. The place is very small but there was no crowd on a Friday afternoon after 1:30pm. It was an enjoyable lunch

After seeing the burger on several TV shows, and featured on several articles I had to put it on my list next time I was in NYC. Stopped in at 5 till 5 right when they were opening so no wait (although within 20 min there were no tables available). This place is tiny and very cozy they have a small counter with some seating and maybe 10 to 12 small tables so if you're planning to stop by call ahead and make a reservation or be prepared to wait. .....The burger...Well having just had the Peter Luger burger the day before I was prepared to be underwhelmed...Fortunately I was not! I wouldn't say this is the best burger I have ever had but it's top 5 for sure!! The meat is the true star, nothing fancy just meat cheees (I had American) and caramelized onions I added just a dab of Ketchup. Cooked a little over medium (I asked for Medium) but the taste was just as good if not better that the one I had at Luger's...For sure worth the treck and a great burger!

My daughter and I enjoyed the juicy burgers and hand cut fries. We also shared a poutine with duck, fries, gravy and cheese. It all worked well together and was served piping hot in a ceramic dish. Service was excellent with our water cups constantly refilled. Staff was friendly and down to earth. The place is packed. Reservations recommended. The burger and fries were outstanding but perhaps a little small. Making the burger slightly larger would get one more star rating. All in all, the Brindle Room offers a great dining experience.

Cute little place. We got the panzenella salad, which was lightly dressed and very good. We also got the spinach salad which came with fried bits of pork belly (my favorite new thing!) and a perfectly poached egg. The spinach was super fresh. Yum! The fried calamari was good as well. The real treat, though, was this burger. It's recommended to be served medium wee with American cheese and carmelized onions. Out server, Cindy, suggested that we upgrade to Italian fries. Great idea. Honestly, this was the best burger I've ever eaten. We were sharing everything so I got 1/3 of a burger. I would have eaten a whole one however! The portions were not huge, but those 3 small plates plus one burger (not huge) was plenty for the three of us. There were complimentary donut holes at the end of the meal. We had to sit at the bar since we didn't have a reservation, but that worked out just fine. Cindy gave us outstanding service. She took my daughter's phone to the bar and allowed it to charge for her. She was prompt and friendly. MAKE A RESERVATION!

Ordered 2 soft drinks as very thirsty whilst looking at the menu. Waitress said can’t just order drinks so brought in a take out cup and said we couldn’t sit. I explained and said we were looking at the menu. Very rude waitress wouldn’t listen. Left and also spoke to two other couples who had the same experience. Had to pay a tip on line as if we didn’t check out a mandatory 20% tip was added. Poor service, rude waitress, no way of cancelling the tip. No signage outside to say only foods orders allowed to sit down.

Situated in the east village, this is the kind of restaurant that one should look to visit if they are coming from out of town. A bit hipster, an atypical menu (new American?), and a cool name. The food is dynamic and the tastes are great. We shared the burger, wings, and a side of roasted carrots. The burger was decadent and the wings were nice and crispy. Their house made hot sauce kicked everything up a notch. The carrots were so sweet that you knew they were fresh. Eat here!

The Brindle Room is a cozy restaurant in the East Village with an outstanding burger. I also recommend the Spicy Calamari and the Smoked Chicken Wings. The shining star is Sebastian's Steakhouse Burger. The Burger comes with caramelized onions, american cheese and is served with fries. I recommend grabbing the hot sauce on the table for a little extra spice.

They serve an amazing simple burger. Great meat cooked perfect, delicious bread and good cheese. Their fries are also good.

After waiting in a brunch queue for almost an hour at a nearby hotspot I found myself among seven desperate and hungry friends. That's when we happened upon the Brindle Room. It's a quaint little joint typical of the East Ville. We were told that since we were more than seven that we would be receiving a tasting instead of ordering individually from the menu for $20 a pop. Though it sounded scary at first it ended up being one of the best brunch experiences (minus the bottomless branchy cocktails we New Yorkers love). This isn't recommended for vegetarians but luckily we were all carnivores the food was amazing and kept coming -clever egg dishes -french toast -home made donuts -burgers and fries -some other sorted dishes the food literally kept coming. They only serve beer and wines (sparking as well) but is certainly worth it. If you do go with a plus seven go later since the place is small.

My wife and I stopped in to split the burger. This was a fantastic burger. It's not fancy in any way, but delicious in every way! Great char, nice shot of caramelized onions, and regular ole American cheese. I usually put ketchup on my burgers, but not this one. Don't cover it's flavor up, just enjoy every bite, unfortunately it will be gone too fast.

Don't get the hype. The duck poutin is good but expected it to have way more flavor than it did. Required a ton of salt and pepper to be worth eating. Burger was just meh despite everyone raving about it. Chicken wings thumbs down. Pasta bowl with pork was good and hearty but again, needed a ton of salt and pepper to have any flavor.

Sorry to repeat what so many others have already confirmed: that burger is so damn good. My boyfriend had the fish (and loved it), we shared some side dishes (and loved them), and a brief survey of the restaurant showed pretty much everyone truly enjoying themselves. Lovely little restaurant with great care for, and attention paid to, the food.

Good little local eatery. Tasty burger and the lamb sandwich was good too. Service was good. Friendly girl was attentive without being intrusive. Worth a visit.

The burger and fries were indeed very good. Can also recommend the penne with sausage, a nice dish with plenty of sausage and kale. The chicken was excellent with good spices and delicious potatoes. The menu is not huge, but there are some neat things on there, like a side of beets with a neat creme sauce or a pumpkin gratin that was very interesting - almost dessert-like with a bread pudding feel to it. The place is tiny, so if you are going on a weekend, make a reservation. Great happy hour pricing on drinks.

Burger was tastless, service was slow and poor and it was over $50 for a burger and two small beers. I guess at the airport they have a captive market but one to avoid unless all you want is a drink

Went there for dinner after a local suggested it told me one of the best burgers in the city didnt disappoint its called the Sebastian steakhouse burger and even at 18 dollars was well worth it

Forget where I heard it, But I heard this place had the best burger in the country. Now I am a burger guy did not believe in fact starting making plans to check this place. Well sure enough this "Sebastians's Steakhouse Burger" is indeed the best burger I have ever tasted. The place is small and has a intimate feel to it. Great place to take a date. Can't wait to go back again.

I saw this restaurant on the Food Network and so we decided to try it for our last dinner in NYC. For once, all of the hype is true. This is one outstanding steakburger, probably the most flavorful I ever tried. The flavor comes from the special blend of different parts of the cow. The exact parts are a secret. The steakburger costs $16 but is worth it. I found it satisfying and was not hungry after I finished. The place is very small but the ambience is pleasing. The waiter (Owner) is friendly and was willing to take some time to talk to us. There is a limited selection of beer and wine so I am not sure why this place is categorized as a bar. The service was fast and efficient. The one quibble is that the fries need some work. They need to be double fried or something because they get limp quickly. Outstanding place, would return in a heartbeat.

Had read great reviews about this place, especially the steakhouse burger, was not disappointed. The burger is basic but the meat pattie is king and fries great. Add the hot sauce and it's the real deal. Worth a walk through the lower East side to experience.

Slowest services. Only 2 servers but the waitress was slow and took her time. My food was ready ans sat under the heating lamp for 15 minutes until she finally brought it. Took her 40 minutes just to bring a check. They had half the restaurant closed off and people had nowhere to sit. Overpriced food.

I had already visited before and loved the burger. I came this time with the intention of trying something else. I ate the calamari and the New York strip aí poivre. WOW the 3 dishes are amazing. The burger is definitely the best ever. And I would say that the steak is also way up there amongst the best things I have ever had!

Absolutely delicious burger $15.00. Cane with cheese and caramelized onions. French fries $5.00 deliciously seasoned and hot. Beer ( not on tap) for $6.00 a can. Great meal. Small place, delicious meal and will come back.

Had the polenta cake with kale and eggs with exceptional house blend !! All was top notch on point and no B as indicated in the window in sight !! Not our first visit and definitely not our last. Enjoy!!!

One of the best burgers in town. A nice little gem of a place in East Village. I go here a few times a month with my gf. We pretty much both always order the sebastian steakhouse burger, which they are known for. The restaurant also makes its very own hot sauce. Delicious. They also have great seafood, oysters, and other entrees. Some solid lunch options as well. They also have a completely different menu for brunch on the weekends which is incredibly delicious. Go enjoy!

We heard the burger was sensational and it was very good. We also enjoyed a delicious grilled chicken dish with our choice of interesting sides and a knockout spaghetti and meatballs. There is reasonably priced wine and interesting craft beers and all wrapped up with excellent service and a very cozy room. We would definitely return.

We tried the brindle room after seeing so many positive reviews about it. The restaurant is nice, very small and cozy. It is what you probably need on a cold New York winter day. My husband and I had the burger and the chicken sandwich. The burger is a classic burger, as simple as it can get but with good quality meat. My husband had the fried chicken sandwich that I tried and it was really good, definitely worth considering if you are thinking of heading to the place for food. Overall, we had a pleasant experience. I would not necessarily consider it the best burger we have had but it was good and the restaurant was what we were looking for on a rainy day in New York.

Hidden little treasure sure to please your gastropub cravings. Outstanding burger, great range of small plates with wide selection of beers and wine. The cool kids eat here cause its pretty much fun food that raises the bar for bar food! Great prices, too!

It’s a good thick patty burger, it just didn’t live up to they hype for me. A lot of great burgers in nyc. The burger was a bit overcooked and a bit on the small side. I️ did like the soft bun though. If I’m in the immediate area and need a familiar burger, I’d come back. Fries were really good. As a side the place is really small, but they have a cheap happy hour...if I️ recall, five dollar cans of beer.

I heard this restaurant referenced on a Food Network show We went not really knowing what it was and got such a delightful surprise wrapped up in this tiny little diner. We went for brunch and enjoyed the potato chip frittata, the burger, and the challah french toast. Let me just say that there was nothing left to box up...absolutely delectable. Seems to be run by nice guys as well.

Want to feel really sad? Dine here. The lighting is designed to make you look your worst and feel even poorer.

Visited the Brindle room with friends because we had heard about the burger, and it didn't disappoint. This is a small hole in the wall and the food is amazing. We got the duck poutine as well as the burger which were both MUST haves. The burger is juicy and extremely tasty. The atmosphere is great for a group of friends and is also a great date spot. The service was great, and waitress was very friendly. The owner was very nice and made sure everything was to our liking, and even gave us free dessert. I would definitely return for the burger and poutine alone.

I absolutely love the burger here! I take it medium rare and the char is perfect. The fries are great too! Perfectly crispy like thick fries should be. They make their own hot sauce that shouldn't be missed. The sauce compliments the burger well. When I'm in the mood for a great burger, I'm at the Brindle Room!

William at Terminal 7 JFK was simply amazing. Professional all around. If Im ever at JFK again I wish to be served by him again.

I've been here 4 times. Each time it lives up to the hype. The best burger in the city. Just make sure to get it medium rare, not medium as recommended. Was able to walk in and get a seat, but I'm sure that won't last long as this place will become very busy soon.

Had dinner at BR on oct 14th. We asked if the french fries were gluten free and after checking with the chef the waitress said definitely YES. Ends up they are fried with the calamari, which is why my wife was sick in bed for 3 full days. She has very bad celiac disease. I called and left emails and phone msg's which were never returned. Beside's this we were sat 45 min late, and served 45 min after that. All this for a burger that wasn't really that good. As a matter fact everything we ate was average. STAY AWAY

Food and service were great! Seating was a little cramped but manageable. Had Sebastian’s Steakhouse Burger it was excellent! The fries were fantastic!

We were served a burger that wasn’t the one we ordered and to correct it they just modified it slightly. It was a sorry excuse of a burger, when I said it to the waiter he was like OMG(as in why are you bothering me?). Then we found a hair in the chicken noodle soup. At this point we were done with the meal, after a brief discussion with the manager we didn’t have to pay for the meal(because we couldn’t eat any of it).

The Brindle Room was such a great place to meet and eat the morning after our son's wedding. We had 29 people so we pretty much had the whole place to ourselves. Jeremy was very helpful and accommodating when setting it up for us. The food was fabulous! Interesting, varied, abundant, served family style and OVER THE TOP flavorful. A week after our Brindle Room experience we saw it featured on "Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives" with Guy Fieri. Don't miss this East Village "diner"!

Saw this place on a food network show which anointed it as the locale with the number two burger in the US. Don't get me wrong, the burger was fine, better than fine, but not close to the best in NY or the rest of the US.

My family went for Sunday brunch and I ate the shrimp and grits with the poached egg as if I hadn't eaten in days! Quite tasty even if the shrimp could have used a bit more seasoning. Another member of our party had the Shushuka-- an incredible eggs with cumin, tomatos and feta cheese. Their signature steakhouse burger was enjoyed by another and we didn't leave a crumb. We were there first thing on Sunday morning and they didn't have any coffee. Apparently they had run out and someone went to fetch a bag to brew. It never materialized during our time there and our waiter was a bit surly... I think he needed a cup of coffee perhaps. The food was great and I can't wait to return when the duck confit poutine is being served, but it was a great brunch!

So the positive the Staff tried very hard. Caveat in fairness it was Easter Sunday. The place is set up for failure. Beer of choice not available. Ordered a bottle instead. Received a different size can that is not on the selection and so unclear what was the correct price - caused much debate. Food. Tried to order Tacos. They were all gone. Settled on a burger. That was 50 minutes. We did not have that much time. So cancelled. More debate. Went to pay the bill. Debate about the items at different cost of the bill. Our Waitor has to refer back to his manager who was somewhere else in the terminal. Moving beyond Airport food and prices, the whole experience was rubbish. Felt sorry for the Staff. Set up for failure

Guess I had really high expectations, being our first visit to NYC I watched so many Youtube videos on burger joints I could almost taste this one, but upon arrival (reservations are a smart idea), the hostess seemed either too busy or just preoccupied. Only got one drink and was never asked to be re-filled. If you are a larger person be prepared - it is very cozy in here. The Burgers WERE good! ($17 a piece I felt was a little steep, but new that going in), but I felt they lacked something. The burger was flavorful, texture was pleasant and tasted good no doubt, but the onions seemed a bit bland to me. Luckily the hot sauce on the table went extremely well with the burger. Fries were great as well. Not a place I would likely come back to as there are a ton of burger places to explore in NY, but was a worthwhile experience.

Word of mouth brought us to the brindle in search of the best non-designer burger in NYC, we found it. The very good waitress knew, burgers it was(although we will return to try other food that also looked good)... Bottom line they have a great cook, well constructed burger, real fries, small clean place, moderate prices, good neighborhood, well Worth the trip..

This is a little gem in the east village. We started with the chicken wing app which was really different and so delicious because they smoke them in the backyard, at least they say. I had the seafood stew which was amazing and chock full of seafood. They do a great job. My friend had the duck confit with cheese curds and it was amazing. It's and app but enough for your entree. The happy hour drinks are great and food prices. They recommend you make rezzies and my friend had made them thankfully. Interestingly we saw about 3 couples come and be told there was no space without a rezzie. The space is small and cozy and a little edgy but diverse audience. Great find!

Really liked this place. Small but not cramped. The staff was cool, friendly and efficient. Great vibe. The smoky wings are a great appetizer. They’re not Buffalo style, more like the flavor of smoked tea duck. Crispy and delicious. The pork belly is also really good. For main course the burger is their calling card and it’s first rate. Not too big, moist and perfectly done with grilled onions on top. The steak fries that come with it were also really good. Will definitely go back. Beer & wine only.

Had a delicious dinner at this cozy little East Village gastro pub. The $1 happy hour oysters were fresh and delicious and the steakhouse burger and homemade steak fries were excellent. The burger was perfectly cooked and simply adorned with American cheese, grilled onions and a few fresh pickle chips in an interesting whole wheat bun. The service was friendly and professional. The complimentary donut holes at the end were warm and outrageously good covered in powdered sugar and a warm salted Carmel sauce.

It is not that it wasn't good. It was enjoyable but not memorable. Love the appetizers more than the main courses. The beef tartare was awesome, the kale salad yummy. Burger was slightly overdone though we asked for medium rare. There was no redness within the patty. but the meat was great. We also shared the special of the day, a pork loin. It was so-so. Drinks were a little diluted. I would eat there again but I probably won't suggest it amidst all the otter choices in the village.

The Brindle room is a small fun place in the east village ... It's so petite you really do need to plan ahead and make a reservation if you want to be sure to get one of the few tables .. If not you can grab a seat at the small bar or the counter .. The bar is beer and wine only and the staff which is only of 3 is friendly and warm .. The star of the place is the burger .. Everyone has a burger today but not everyone does the burger as well as this place .. The burger is big but not overwhelming .. It's thick and juicy and easy to handle .. The roll is soft and perfect white as you might have had in the late 60's .. Not oversized or fancy brioche trying to be something it need not be .. It comes with cheese and caramelized onions ..The fries are equally well executed . They are thick , fresh and crisp without being over done .. Pickles on the side and house made ketchup is all you need .. We tried the appetizers and the wings were ok .. the sides are very good including the Brussels sprouts .. If you want a great burger and I have tried them all this is the place .

Recommended from food network and wasn't disappointed. Food, drinks and service were super. Had the burgers as suggested but couldn't resists adding shakshuka and shrimp and grits. Not that the shakshuka wasn't good just not my preference. Definitely have plans to return so many more items to try. Limited seating make a reservation.

This place was highly recommended by our friends in NYC. The restaurant is small, unassuming, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The burgers were not on the menu but were available on demand. Though on the small side, the burgers were excellent with simple rich flavours.

Went for the burger and it was great. We ordered the wings and by surprise they were amazing!! It was a must have. Best part were the complimentary donuts at the end. I could of ate those as my meal and been happy!

Oily chewy Calamari followed by average burger and steak. Roast sweet potato with a butter swimming pool in the middle. Later noticed charged for Non-alcohol bev $7.98! Atmosphere not hepled by continous mini-management meetings within earshot of who is waiting which tables. Something needs to change starting with Chef having access to better quality produce. Calamari should not be on the menu. Not worth a return.

The restaurant is a tiny but cozy space; my friends and I went for mussels and fries but were disappointed. Mussels were very bitter and fries were soft. The kale salad with almonds and pears was great. A nice touch was a plate of mini chocolate-covered donuts.

40 mins for a burger that looks like it’s come straight out the trash - cold fries - cheap meat. Kitchen staff letting the bar staff down - not even busy - chaos in the kitchen - $25 for trash

Brindle Room, on the lower East Side of Manhattan, was the location of our breakfast with friends. The service was prompt, friendly and efficient and the brunch options just terrific and well prepared. Brindle Room is not large but has a nice neighborhood feel and having the chance to talk with Jeremy, the owner and chef, makes the experience even more personal. I look forward to a return visit. Highly recommended.

Thsi was a perfect room to have an afternoon lunch with nice vibe and fantastic food. I had the fried chicken sandwich which was amazing and with tons of great flavor. My husband had the burger which he siad was one of the best he's had. Will be back next time I'm in New York

Great cozy place, swordfish and chicken was amazing and was able to be seated immediately even on Saturday after New Years. Loved the shrimp appetizer too

What a warm, cosy space this place is. Friendly staff, great atmosphere and the highlight ......drumroll, please - was the burger! Everyone at our table had it and it didn't disappoint. Beautiful succulent beef that was grilled to perfection and pink in the middle, it's got everything it needs and nothing it doesn't with some pickle & cheese and a handful of grilled onions on a soft bun. By far one of the best burgers I've ever had!

Best burger in NYC. Look no further than Brindle Room for NY's best burger. This cute and cozy bar tucked away in the East Village has a nice selection of beers and wines as well as some healthy options, but lets face it, you're here for the burger. Don't forget to try their homemade hot sauce. You can even buy a bottle to take home with you. They're also open for Brunch on the weekends!

best burgers in the city? umm, the burger was small and good. the restaurant was small and good. the service was sleepy, the vibe is cool. if you live in the east village, it would be good for you, otherwise, no need to travel for it. it's nice, cozy, overpriced and good. nothing amazing. well, the little donuts, complimentary at the end of the meal were amazing. hubby HATED his quinoa salad which was 99% kale. sangria was overly sweet and spiced. fries are good. no entree for a vegetarian besides the veg lasagna, which was nice, but i was not in the mood for. it's good. it's not amazing.

We saw them on diners drive in and dives....it is nine of those :) but is delightful. Quaint so come early or you may have to wait but worth it. Delicious steak burgers cooked perfectly. Excellent customer service

Fantastic place for lunch in the East Village. Great burger! Good fries. Good beer but no draft. Don’t usually eat deserts but followed waitresses recommendation - a warm drought covered with hazzlenuts- very good. Really, really good place. Staff was perfect.

We're from Isabela, Puerto Rico. In our last trip to NYC we decided to go to this restaurant because we saw it on Triple D episode and we love the show. If you can go you should go!! The burguer is just awesome!!

Brindle room exceeded my expectations. I'm always on the hunt for new restaurants that have that something special about them and aren't overpriced. A good balance of cost, portion size, quality, and service. To our surprise we made it in during happy hour on Monday 5-7pm. $1 raw oysters made the whole evening for me! We also had their wings, Chicken Ragu, and salmon with creamed corn and zucchini. Definitely comfort food, but was not heavy. We even had some of each entree left over for an evening snack. Was just as good heated up. I cannot wait to come back and experience other entrees!

The food sucked and the personell was rude. I was not able to cancel the tip. They did NOT deserve it. Do not recommend. The food was also expensive.

The food is thoughtful and delicious. The burger and french fries are so so good. So is the kale salad. The small kitchen in this restaurant turns out excellent food consistently. It's a great place to grab a beer and a bite. The interior is simple and the staff is friendly and approachable.

Read about their hamburger on a news article and had to stop in. We sat right down and ordered our burgers. I must say that I really enjoyed it. It was simple with cheddar cheese and caramalized onions and it was all it needed. Great flavor packed into a awesome meal.

I only wish that the burguer could have been a little bigger, because it was really goodwas really good .....Good service and a really nice place
Outstanding brunch experience
On a busy Saturday morning our group of four snagged a table here and had a delightful, stress-free brunch. This is a small place that really has a bar-like ambiance, however the feeling was cozy instead of claustrophobic. The server was friendly and accommodating, food arrived pretty quickly and our water and coffee was refilled regularly. French Toast was cooked to perfection and their take on Biscuits and Gravy wasn't drowning in gravy like I'm used to. However, the bacon was extremely salty. We also had a side of potatoes that were well-seasoned. Would like to return and try the burger.
