Wonderful Visit

By barbaras71765 |

My sister and I came in for dinner this past week. We decided to, what we call, graze. Eating a few plates and sharing them. We shared the California Flat bread that was just delicious. The pear and gorgonzola salad was a delightfully light treat, and we finished with the most unbelievable ribs we've ever had. You can tell that much thought and love went into the food here. And as a bonus, the Chef, I believe his name is Robert, himself actually came out a few times to see if we were enjoying our food. Nice touch! Please go here for the food, you won't be disappointed.

Should be called "The Hungry Mouse"

By pkeenan |

We came here for dinner. I would say just go for a beer or eat outside. We saw mice and told the help staff. They admitted that they had issues about three months earlier...well they're back.

Hidden Gem

By Emilie |

I was excited to return to this brilliant pub on my second trip to NYC. A really chilled place to have a beer during the day. The food looked good! Always great staff there and good music

Good food

By msa23_2000 |

Came here for brunch. The food was good, not necessarily memorable, but good. The service was excellent. They played really loud music which is a bit much for brunch, though.

Good food, fun restaurant

By EWard2013 |

Visited with my auntie and elderly mum. There was a good choice of menu and it was reasonably priced. The food was spot on with the Brie trio being exceptionally good with a pairing of apple. The staff were warm and welcoming with great service. Michael was really helpful in advising on what to do in New York and Meghan and James providing exceptional service. You know you have a great night when you end up doing shots with the waiters - thanks James

Great food

By C D |

The food was so tasty! I enjoyed both visits, Great service, very accommodating, didn't have to wait long and the prices were very much in line for NYC. I did hear that later on they had run out of a couple of choices on the menu, so don't wait too long if you want the complete menu to be available.

Traditional fare

By weegietraveller |

A good selection of hearty meals from the old country and USA not to mention the beers on tap. Very friendly service. Really enjoyed my chowder and shepherd's pie.

Some go for the burgers, I say salads

By pjhahn |

Stopped in today for a burger (which looked good), but stayed for their Cajun Salmon salad. Awesome! Great seasonings and ingredients. It is a meal with large pieces of salmon with olives, string beans and more. The vinaigrette was delish. Of course if you want the burger - or any of the traditional British bar food - they jave that too. Loved the wait staff. Friendly, fun and honest of what's good on the menu.

Great find excellent food

By Natalie R |

We were staying at the Redbury across the street. So happy we stopped in we sat outside as it was 20 degrees out unheard of for this time of year! I had the grilled cheese and tomato soup. Now soup was cold when it first came but easy fix and was delicious. My husband had the beet salad (also delicious) Will return next time for brunch thanks :)

Not crooked knife

By Brooklyngal54 |

Great service and very reasonably priced . Nice happy hour . The butternut squash soup was delicious . Chicken Caesar over the top . Never expected it to be so wonderful . Best I have ever had . My friend has Cajun salmon salad also lovely . Nice presentation . Off the beaten path but a good choice .

Too bad about the service

By Richard B |

Delightful find for a Sunday brunch but the service was terrible. We were at an undesirable table and, even though there were other choices, were not able to change. Had to chase down the server to get butter / jelly for, now cold toast. Also had to find someone else to get our bill. Too bad but won't return just because of the service.

Divine

By samurai g |

My best friend and I went to the Crooked knife for brunch, the bottomless brunch and it was simply divine, we had fun fun.Our Server Mckenna was fantastic friendly and gracious and funny and a true pro. I had the Crooked Omelet and a brioche french toast to share and my friend had an Omelet with salmon in it and everything was damn good!!!!!😍😍😍..ooh and lets not 4get 2hrs of Mimosas lol i was quite happy when i left. Of course the Mimosas was part of the brunch deal..Go you will love it

Nothing special.

By Tracey M |

The Crooked Knife felt like an pub. It was busy and buzzy and the food and service were ok. If this is what you’re looking for then great. We were looking for something more along the lines of a restaurant with a cosy atmosphere where we could have and hear conversation. This, for us it was disappointing.

Awesome

By Robert F |

Fantastic food, fantastic service and a great night. We visited on New Years Eve and opted for a drinks and 3 course dinner menu. It was amazing. The steak was cooked to Perfection and the NY cheesecake was really good with cinnamon through the base. Drinks were also excellent and we were never waiting for top ups. If in NYC, you need to Go here!

Hidden gem!!

By Storyteller296344 |

Stayed in a hotel just opposite this restaurant and visited twice during our 4 night stay in New York. Really pleasant atmosphere and friendly staff. Great specials, bottle of Rose wine for $20. Food was good but not great, good enough to bring us back again though.

Excellent meal

By DJM1945 |

The food we ordered was very good and we were also impressed with the fantastic service. Perhaps the marginal downside was the fact that the interior needed a bit of upgrading.

Great place

By Noname08 |

They were really busy but managed to sort us a table. Service was amazing and the food was very good

As good as it always has been

By davidalocke |

I am from the UK and stay regularly at the Redbury when I vist NYC on business. The Crooked Knife is just across the street from the Redbury. It is a homely bar / restaurant serving good sized portions of comfort food. The burgers are good quality meat and plenty of it. The lasgane is good and huge. There's an interesting selection of beers available (UK visitors please note that a US pint is 20% smaller than a UK pint). It can get somewhat noisy round the bar area. We have always been looked after well at the Crooked Knife, where a warm welcome and friendly service is assured.

Delicious!

By TalieTim |

My husband and I at here as it was opposite our hotel. We were impressed by the excellent food and service here when we arrived on our first night. My husband had the best steak and is still talking about it and I enjoyed the chicken burger with excellent chips and homemade slaw. We returned on our last day and were not disappointed!

Great family dinner

By rolad100 |

We arrived late in the afternoon after a long trip to the city. The restaurant is a great choice for an after work dinner as well as a family dinner. We enjoyed burgers and steak served by the friendly staff.

Sharp service at the Crooked Knife!

By Peter W |

Thanks to The Crooked Knife for making us so welcome when we visited you on our trip to New York. You looked after us so well whenever we came in and quickly produced a meal when time was against us the day we left. If New Yorkers or visitors are down your way I hope they call in to enjoy the experience. Reminded me of 'Cheers' so cheers everyone!

A great pub style restaurant

By KJR10000 |

Stumbled onto this - looks really inviting from the outside - and wasn't disappointed. A great choice of beers and snacks, and the menu has a lot of good old fashioned dishes (bangers & mash, fish & chips, cottage pie). A fantastic atmosphere too with a big crackling fire. A great place to meet friends and while away the evening.

Great brunch, lunch and light dinner place

By haroldg48 |

We loved The Crooked Knife, which bills itself as a "gastro-pub". The food is a bit more elegant than the average bar food, but great, with a lot of different choices. The beer and wine selections are good, and the place is very comfortable, with outdoor seating for nice days and evenings. Food and service were great

good time, what I can remember!!!

By Lisa B |

Ok, I spent the evening here celebrating my 50th Bday. We were looking for just a fun neighborhood part and stopped in here. Wait staff was nice and I'll admit I got a whole lot tipsy. I know the doorman got us a cab, from what I remember, thanks for the good time. Oh, the inside is pretty cool. Nice people..

WONDERFUL place to chill out!

By stephen z |

We read the reviews and gave it a go. It was VERY busy but we got seating in a matter of minutes. It is very much a younger crowd (my wife and I are in our 60's) but the staff AND the customers were extremely friendly! Food was wonderful, service was fantastic, the atmosphere was terrific and the entire experience was awesome. Prices were VERY reasonable, especially for being iin NYC. If in the area, I would highly recommend stopping in either for a drink, snack or meal. You will NOT be disappointed.

Good Brunch

By JVD |

Went with a buddy for brunch while visiting NY. Sat at the bar, not a table...Our Bartender Jen was great! Food was good. Didnt take advantage of, but bottomless mimosa/bloodies seems like a good deal for weekend brunch. I would return.

Very Good Brunch

By 4evrnblujns |

Had a really good brunch menu. Cool, laid-back, vintage vibe. Service was great. Have outdoor seating available.

Great Sunday Brunch

By Vacationer2Maine |

We were visiting from out of town and needed a place for 6 for Sunday brunch. This place accommodated us and gave us a great table. The breakfast food was great and we enjoyed the mimosas. We'd certainly come here again.

Fantastic Food and Plenty of Atmosphere!

By P44cka |

This was the first restaurant we ate whilst staying in New York, close to our Hotel in Manhattan (29 East 30th Street) Live music night, lots of atmosphere, food fantastic, both meals were a delight. Staff very friendly and helpful. Perhaps not for those on a romantic evening out, it was a little noisy!

Top draw

By Duane K |

Stayed in the hotel near the knife and found the staff polite and genuine food good beer cold what more do you need

Cosy, but loud

By sharon3601 |

Walked into several restaurants near our hotel mid-town to check out for later dining, and Crooked Knife had a really friendly vibe - nice staff, homey interior. Small resto, with active bar scene. Seated as far as we could get from noisy music. Had great salad with freshly cooked steak sliced and served on top. Perfect. Husband ordered salmon, and the server asked what temperature he would like salmon cooked to. Never heard that one before. Did a little inquiring of the server, and determined that "medium" would be fine. It was perfectly done. It's a small menu, but very well done. If you don't mind the volume of the music, it's a great place.

Great gastro pub

By Deborah M |

Had an reservations for dinner but turned up early to enjoy a couple of beers before hand. Staff were friendly and service was informal and relaxed. Our waiter was also trying to learn his lines for a play he was in which added to the fun laid back vibe. Food was good and hearty, just what we needed after a long day travelling. There were a few groups there, who seemed to be having a great time, so would probably be a good place to go after work too.

Gotta go back!

By Penny D |

Three of us popped in for an early evening small plate before heading out. The food was a lovely surprise but the 'small' plate filled us up (American portions always seem big to me). We went for the 'dee-lish' mac 'n cheese, the perfectly spicy buffalo wings and the tasty looking crab and avo sliders. It was relatively quiet being so early but the bar started filling up with fun and noisy locals. There is a decent value happy hour which was nice! The restaurant area is casual, homey and relaxed... we didn't stay for nearly long enough, so we're going back for the second time in a week to enjoy the vibe properly!

nice dive bar

By Steven L |

had drinks after dinner. bartenders extremely friendly and attentive. nice drinks. atmosphere friendly and inviting. would be happy to return.

Great food in a nice setting

By russm296 |

Having just arrived in NYC we walked a block from our hotel looking for somewhere to eat an evening meal and stumbled across this gem. We over ordered with a nachos to share (plenty) followed by a burger- cooked to perfection. periodically the ‘owner’ kept dropping by our table to ensure we were okay and offered a range of tourist advice and places to visit- Well worth a visit!

Great atmosphere

By Superdude53 |

We found this space on urban spoon just around the corner from our hotel. It was very good, decent food, good beer and live music some nights. Quite a few locals in there. Recommended in you are staying close.

Good Menu and Friendly staff

By ROB C |

Went here while on a bachelor party weekend with 7 guys. we had just arrived and needed a place to have some lunch. It was earlier in the afternoon, and the place was mostly empty. around 1pm on a friday (maybe 2ish). We were having some drinks and having a good time. The bartender/waitress certainly knew how to handle our group. We were pleasantly surprised at how good the food was. I had the chicken club sandwich with fries and a few bud lights.

Great food, creative drinks.

By JGallagher28 |

The food at Crooked Knife was excellent. Our only complaint about the food was the sauce for the Bangers & Mash and both sides of mashed potatoes were ice cold. Luckily they tasted delicious. Service was slow, but they did warn us ahead of time that large parties just left for brunch. We were however disappointed to see our server walking outside to smoke and not deliver our drinks that we ordered, but eventually they did come.

Disappointing Burger

By Ron M |

A neighborhood place for locals. Certainly not a destination. Burger recommended. Frankly a meat mess. Fell apart in bun. No real flavor. Fries were ok.

Lovely brunch! Definitely a bottomless brunch spot

By danibrig |

This was a great brunch spot. We did the bottomless brunch experience and it does seem like most people there are looking for that. If you're not looking for some more rowdy tables/atmosphere, I wouldn't recommend it on Saturday/Sunday mornings. Their service was impeccable - the waiter had our refills almost instantly, and the food was tasty too. Would definitely go again.

Nice food, great service

By Melbthirtysomething |

We came here on a cold, rainy night in Jan 2015. We were staying at the Martha Washington and were very happy to be able to head across the road (out the back door) and straight into this restaurant. We both had burgers mine chicken (spicier than expected but nice) and my husband beef, which he was very pleased with. Great service, food and drink. Would recommend.

Great pub

By salanb |

Walked in after 10pm on a Sunday. A little quiet but good food and Gina at the bar was very nice and attentive.

Delicious food

By Lady_H100 |

Visited during our stay in New York. We found this restaurant on the way back to our hotel and were not disappointed. Very warm welcome on arrival. Really quirky interior, very homely with a great atmosphere. Food was delicious, Mac and Cheese with bacon was apparently a winner as were the sandwiches and salad. Efficient ,friendly service, really cannot fault in any way.

Night Cap

By Steven T |

We stayed across the street two years in a row. We always stop here for a drink or two and it never disappoints. I wish I could remember the bartender but he was awesome. I won’t be staying at the same hotel again but if I stay in the area we will definitely be back.

Excellent neighborhood spot

By Deborah W |

I dine here every week, and they always know my name, my table, and my drink preference. The open fireplaces are welcoming in this bitter weather. The food is very good. There have been several changes in chef, and I miss some of my old favorites, but there is always excellent soup, salad, and burgers, plus a great rack of lamb has been added to the menu. This would also be a great place for lunch. I consider it a neighborhood treasure. We have met some interesting tourists at adjacent tables.

Enjoyed brunch here tremendously!

By Kathy K |

We had a group of 7 for Sunday brunch prior to a concert at Carnegie Hall. Everything was wonderful, from the service, to the food, to the special attention from our chef. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. The menu was interesting and the food perfectly prepared.

Excuse the service

By Howard F |

I ordered The Hamburger & it was served on an interesting cutting board. It was divided into two sections & it was tasty. My friend ordered a clam chowder that he felt it was a meal unto itself. OK - the soup was tepid & he specified he wanted it extra hot. The waitress seemed to ignore us making the experience not exemplary. He was surprised & disappointed because on previous occasions he was quite satisfied. But remember the food is excellent.

Excellent Brunch

By 1959Carver |

Three couples of us went here for Sunday Brunch and had the Boozy Brunch which includes Bloody Mary's and Mimosa's (unlimited for up to three hours) which were very good. Each of us had a different Entree and none were disappointing.

Crooked Knife

By Rvicci |

Great brunch on both Saturday and Sunday. Staff is very friendly. Fantastic Irish flair. New menu comes out next month and we are excited to give it a try.

Charming and oh so tasty!

By Bridget M |

Heading into the city,we noticed this really cool looking restaurant.Turns out to be a pub.Loving the decor,we head in.Gracious host leads us to a corner table lit by lamplight(already loving this place).Large pieces of furniture and huge couches adorn the front of the house.Everyone seems happy. Its Halloween night so we see plenty of homemade costumes and fake blood.Delicious homemade bread is brought to our table and we can't decide which we like more, this place or this amazing bread.Small menu, which I think is very smart.(I have been in the restaurant business for over 40 years and I can be a pain in the butt when it comes to eating out).We wind up ordering the burgers. We are honestly still talking about them! We want to come back sooner than later to try the Guinness stew or the chowder or the homemade chicken pot pie.Highly recommend this place! P.S.Clean restroom cinched the deal!

Great chill-out eatery

By Clivet16 |

A great find if you want to have a relaxed meal in a family-run bar. Can't fault anything - check it out.

A great discovery

By Jcotta1970 |

What a great little bar and restaurant, I was staying just around the corner at The Roger (also reviewed) and was looking for somewhere low key for a beer and some bar food. Beer was Bluemoon unusual because it gets that orange slice garnish but I like it.. bar food was the short rib tacos both excellent and the bar staff friendly and attentive. Liked it so much went back the following day for lunch and the chicken burger also really good. Got chatting to the owner/ manager and again great food cold beer and good company. Would definitely use this place again.

Great Chill Out Bar & Restaurant

By Gil Chesterton |

Just a very relaxed great NYC location, away from the tourists and really great atmosphere. Great beers, food, service and fab spirit menu! Love this place as a place to just chill, have a conversation and enjoy NYC

Reasonably Priced and Casual

By Scott R |

The last two years my wife and I stayed in this area (at The Roger & Hotel Chandler) and the Crooked Knife is very close to both of these hotels. This year we ended up eating at the CK twice, lunch on our arrival day and after a Broadway show one evening. The décor is OK, nothing special but the place is clean and the food is very good and reasonably priced. We split an order of Fish & Chips on our first visit and then had bowls of a wonderful fish chowder after a show. We've also had omelets and burgers ---all very good. The staff is average to good but they get the job done. It's comfortable atmosphere, not fancy but the strong suits are good food, decent selection, and reasonable prices.

Lovely to take a fussy teenager too.

By WalkingFarmer |

We visited twice during our stay as the menu catering for adults and teenagers. Not suitable for young children as it was fairly loud in the early evening with live music. Would defiantly recommend.

Great food and Service

By ArdMhacha |

This bar is behind the Martha Washington and the food was really good and the service excellent. The prices were reasonable and I would highly recommend it.

Lunch

By Vito E |

Very cozy interior. Enjoyed my meal. Cajun Salmon was great! They had a $10 burger special and a grilled cheese and tomato soup special. No bad for a quick sit down like lunch. I would be interested in checking out the dinner menu.

Really very good; avoid trivia night

By KAF0460 |

Great food in a smart location. Friendly staff; reasonable prices. The trivia contest was irritating; too loud although the table of deaf people next to us didn't see too phased

Solid Pub for Dinner

By Keith D |

Found this within walking distance of our hotel and went here for dinner. Decent selection of burgers and sandwiches with a few entrees thrown in. Nice selection of beers and cocktails with a few decent wine selections as well.

Average but fun!

By 305KMD |

Good value, decent service, casual. Has a good Friday night crowd when I'm there. Run of the mill drink selection. Decent place to chat with friends.

Brunch

By Ashking2013 |

Have had drinks and brunch here and it was very nice. Friendly service and good food. The bar/ restaurant is comfortable to sit in. Would go again.

IRISH bar and great food

By John S |

I have been coming here for the past several years and as the menu and floor management has evolved it still provides good beverages and a great variety for lunch. I've even brought my children for early dinner and staff have been great. Good solid Irish bar with a great Irish and non Irish food. Try the pear salad with steak.

Great Stop

By Jim B |

Stopped to this great small pub. Had great service, nice helpful staff that made us feel comfortable while we were there. Went back the 2nd night for more.

Good food, with large helpings in a lively setting

By MuddyWalks |

I visited this place for dinner on my own when I had a night in town for some meetings. On the left, the bar was heaving and the conversation volume level was high, but to the right there were plenty of tables and seats, and the waitress looked after me well as I tucked into some very good risotto and rocket salad in a dainty pastry bowl and a glass of wine. Good tasty food and the wine was good too.

Sunday Brunch

By Steven T |

For $43 you get two hours of limitless carats of either bloody mary or mimosa, entree and a side. It was well worth it. The eggs Florentine and the omelets were amazing. We had 2 bartenders that were awesome. They were very attentive and knew how to handle a crowd. I recommend making a reservation, and I strongly recommend you give them a shot. You won't be disappointed.

Great relaxing brunch!

By Sailorgirrl |

Endless mimosas! And a very good brunch with fun people watching. We can recommend the eggs Benedict and French toast.

Perfect ambience

By Lisa And Steve |

We visited here twice during our stay , the first night we had food which was so nice ,I had the calamari which was perfect , we had food quality wines and were looked after both nights by Mike , the most attentive gentleman that gave us lots of advice too about the area and places to visit , second time we just went back to see him and had a lovely bottle of rose , really relaxed place and definitely worth a couple of visits

Ok food in pleasant surroundings

By SarahandMichael_11 |

Limited menu (and not all of it available when I visited). Friendly pleasant atmosphere; good place to go for a drink but the food rather ordinary. Live music.

Tasty food in a relaxed setting

By cosmoprincess |

Relaxed and friendly place for a drink or a meal. There's a good range of items on the menu and the stew in particular was delicious. I plan to return.

Not impressed

By Susan D |

Had been recommended and we walked about 20 blocks to get there. Looked lovely with coal fire on. Informed that they had run out of three of the main meals and one of the drinks I wanted. While the food we ordered was good there wasn't an awful lot of it. We were then presented with the bill before we had asked for it.

Excellent food with great service

By Vinicius Barros |

We had a great night here. I ordered the ribeye steak for $25. Really good and the service was spot on!

Lovely friendly and great food.

By crissy1854 |

Stumbled on this bar after visiting the Empire State Building, hot tired and hungry. The welcome was amazing by the friendly staff. The food was the best meal we ate in New York.

Nice midtown brunch spot

By Aaron W |

This was a great brunch place other than our waiter, Javier. The brunch cocktails were well done. They had some good options besides just the standard mimosa or bloody mary. The food was very good. The only problem was our waiter. First, it took awhile just for him to come to our table in the beginning. Then we didn't get our drinks until AFTER we had already received our meals. He took so long to come back around to check on us that we were almost finished with our food and opted not to get another drink by that time. I would've liked to have had another one long before I was finished with my food. I would recommend going here for a good brunch in midtown, and hopefully we just caught the waiter on a bad day.

A+ Food and A+ Service

By Pastdweller |

This excellent restaurant is upon entering quite spacious, decorated in a warm and attractive pub style. We arrived very early for dinner (4:30PM) and were seated in the comfortable window booth seat. Our waiter was extremely pleasant and attentive. The table setting was immaculate and a carafe of ice water was offered as we placed our drink order. There is a great selection of beers and wines. The menu offers a wonderful selection of entrees and burgers as well. Many of the entrees are slanted towards traditional English pub fare such as Bangers and Mash, Chicken Pot Pit, and Fish and Chips, to name a few. There are also salads and pasta as well. The menu is what I would call "great eating food", that is, items most people would enjoy and food that is not over-seasoned, over-presented, and over-priced. Dishes ordered were Pan-Seared Salmon and Braised BBQ Baby Back Ribs. These relatively simple items can arrive in all sorts of ways in restaurants as preparing them properly can be tricky. The food we received was simply outstanding. The salmon was grilled to perfection; neither burnt nor raw inside with flawless color. It was accompanied by potatoes and string beans in a wonderful "citrus burre blanc" sauce that was exquisite in flavor. The sauce was unlike any I can recall and excelled in its perfect creamy texture without being heavy, tart, or overpowering. The ribs were cooked to perfection being juicy, meaty, and flavorful without being greasy or fatty. Again the BBQ sauce here was not the standard type you will get at most pubs. It was delicate and complemented the meat without being too salty or syrupy. The accompanying French Fries arrived in my favorite way, in their own little deep-fry steel basket with ketchup on the side. Crisp and wonderful. If all this was not enough the CHEF HIMSELF came over to the table to ask about the salmon preparation. I informed him that he got it just right and everything else on the table too. We asked him about his culinary training and he told us much about that and also his special technique for preparing the rib dish. This told us that this restaurant is very concerned about food quality. I ask, what more could a diner ask for in a New York City restaurant? Now I can't guarantee that the chef will personally visit your table as he did ours, although you might try going to Crooked Knife before the crowds. But I can guarantee a wonderful dining experience of great hearty food that great care is taken in preparing. My highest recommendation and thanks again to the amazing food and wait staff for their talent, knowledge, and courtesy. Oh and as we were leaving we were offered complimentary tastes of a wonderful black bean soup too. Many thanks Crooked Knife for a fine experience!

Good New York bar and restaurant...

By JustinTA25 |

Excellent service, great burgers and suburb steaks. Nothing fancy, just good food, well served at a fair price..... Gets noisier later in the evening. Good wine list...

Nice Sunday Brunch

By Brendan P |

Came for a Sunday brunch and had a wonderful time. The bottomless mimosas are great (they provide a carafe for each table w/ refills) and the food was good. The menu is a bit limited for brunch, so be prepared to pick from only 6 or so different options. I had the Irish Breakfast- very good. The restaurant, itself, is charming and the service was great. We look forward to coming back sometime soon!

quick lunch

By Lucila E |

fair price, cosy ambiance, family friendly, good burgers, good chicken pie, service correct , right place for a quick lunch

Wind down and feel at home

By Wiemel |

Ended up here with a friend looking to wind down after a hot tour downtown- looking for something else than the typical US food . Ended up staying a few hours on the cosy terrace being served George - a guy making a career in shakesperian theater and making some money serving delicious food - small and large platters - accompanied by splendid wines. Recommended for all looking for a non touristy experience

Disappointing

By Jon C |

Went for Saturday brunch. Food was OK but service sorely lacking. Slow fulfillment of 4 orders could have been attributed to a large group in restaurant but never given an update of what going on. Extremely loud taped music was disconcerting.

Outstanding place for dinner or drinks

By West Point Foundry Bed and Breakfast |

Great restaurant, pub, excellent service, delicious good, wonderful location. Friendly, in every way perfect!! We had such a great time, can’t wait to go back!

Cheerful and buzzing venue

By Leo C |

Great atmosphere, welcoming and cheerful staff. Lots of custom gives a lively atmosphere and music was great but RESTRAINED!!!!

Great Food, Poor Service

By Tess C |

The food here is excellent. We went for brunch on a Sunday morning. It was very crowded but with a reservation you could get a table pretty easily. However, our waiter seemed distracted and we were left without drinks. We raised our hands even to get the attention of our waiter, but he seemed distracted by the wall or something. Our food came out after at least an hour of waiting. But once it got there, it was delicious and quite satisfactory. We had the french toast, which was absolutely filling and decadent, and the eggs florentine, which was much of the same. Bloody Mary's were the most popular drink at the Crooked Knife. Not great for kids but perfect for a little Sunday brunch, if you don't mind horrible service, and have time to wait.

Late breakfast-early lunch Sunday

By Brian F |

My wife and I met our daughter and her boyfriend for breakfast for them and lunch for us. Service was excellent and the atmosphere charming old New York with worn plank floors and a tin ceiling. All the hard said surfaces were nice to look at but made it noisy and a little difficult to hold a conversion but we liked the lively crowd. I had a hamburger my wife a salad, daughter poached eggs and boyfriend an omelet. All was very good and decent prices for Manhattan. We skipped the endless 2 hour mimosa or Bloody Mary deal but will try another time. We will be back.

Fantastic little place. Love it!

By Natalie S |

We discovered this little gem of a restaurant on our first trip to New York in 2009 as it was across the road from our hotel. Great food at reasonable prices. We recently returned to New York with our whole family (12 in all) as my partner and I had decided to get married in our favourite city. We booked a table at The Crooked Knife for the night before our wedding. As before food was great. Your options are limited if a vegetarian like my sister but she ordered a starter and fries instead of a main as there were more vegetarian starters and was more than happy with what she got. The staff were really warm and friendly and our server took the time to talk with my 76 year old Dad who loves to chat and was telling everyone and anyone who would listen at least twice that his daughter was getting married tomorrow! He has a strong Northumbrian accent so she probably struggled to understand him a bit but didn't let on and they even let him take the Newcastle Brown Ale glass he was drinking from home with him at the end of the night as he was so chuffed to discover it in America (even though he never drinks it at home). Would thoroughly recommend this place to anyone. Its a real neighbourhood place. A bit hidden away so therefore less touristy than a lot of places but well worth tracking down and eating at. If thee is a live band on then can be a bit noisy but certainly didn't detract from our enjoyment. Thanks to you all for a great night. See you again on our next visit!

Good but a bit too salty

By Gillian S |

A group of friends and I went to the Crooked Knife over the weekend. The atmosphere/deco is nice, and the food was tasty albeit salty. For those sensitive to this, or watching their sodium intake, perhaps ask to have no added salt. The restaurant was very busy, and we were politely asked to "get going..." so that other guests could sit, although I noticed there were other tables that had stayed longer than us. I enjoyed the bottomless mimosas and bloody marys.

Perfect brunch place in NYC

We found this gem of a brunch place and are hooked. If you are looking for a fun place to brunch and people watch, by all means, check this place out. Unlimited mimosas or bloody marys and really great food. I will say that the place is kind of loud, but it doesn't deter from the ambiance. If you want a table then you need a reservation. We paid attention to this recommendation and were seated promptly. I would highly recommend this fun place.

Very tasty food

By Moleyc |

Perfect bar food, the burger was delicious, service was great and good choice of food & drink on the menu. Would recommend.

Easy going atmosphere with good food and a decent selection of beers

By Paul R |

We turned up without booking for a late(ish) dinner for two. Staff were very accommodating and there was a good feel to the whole place. Food and drink was served promptly, steak for me and salmon for my wife, and both of us were very pleased with our choices. We finished eating and decided to stay on for beers - UFO was the tipple of the night - as there was such a good atmosphere to the place. All in all, a great find and we would recommend to anyone.

Nice food

By Carplaneshiptrain |

Food was nice but the place a tad too noisy with the music. Good ambience, just that the music could have been softer. Pricing is normal.

Highly Recommended

By Gaddball |

We were in New York for 5 days for the tennis and as it was a stones through from our hotel and the food and staff were so good we went on 3 nights.

Not Bad but Not Great

By SL8G |

I was not very impressed with this place. The food and service were average. It was very loud (not great for conversation). We were there for brunch. If you don't do the bottomless brunch, it is not worth it.

Good food

By Jordi P |

The pork sausages with red onion malmalade were great. There was live music too (irish?), but it was too loud.

Lovely food and fab service

By LDM2 |

Food fab but the friendly service made all the difference to our night. If you're after good home cooked food, then this should be on your list. The steak and the burger is a must....yum.

Fun Irish Bar/Pub

By Maggie O'C |

We had a family dinner here when in town for my daughter's graduation and this was her neighborhood spot. Friendly, fun server. Good food, not great but who thinks we Irish are good cooks!? I know my kids had a great time when they went back later that night with friends. I'm guessing the liquids are the main attraction here!

Great late night spot

By Jlg454nyu |

They had very good food, and the kitchen was open until midnight. Bartender was friendly, and even kept my bf's phone when he left it behind. It wasn't packed when we arrived around 11:30, but was getting busy when we left around 1 am. Nice crowd of people though.

Brunch

By Sue B |

We went for Sunday Brunch. Awesome menu choices and bottomless mimosas. Wonderful service. Food was amazing. Great venue to sit and visit.

Evening meal

By mark t |

Food was decent, music a tad too loud when you just want to talk to each other, not a bad place but there are better

Hidden Gem

By Steven P |

Enjoyed a late dinner with my wife. The interior of the restaurant didn't match the classic rock tunes and menu selection, but the fish and chips were good and my wife enjoyed the quinoa salad. Very reasonably priced and good selection of dishes.

Ladies Brunch

By aridni414 |

This place was perfect for a Sunday brunch. We did sit outside because inside was a little loud. The service was perfect

Very nice

By ViGreen |

Good place, environment, people and service... The menu has some good options but be aware that some foods are very spicy and they don't tell you that. But worth the try!

nice pub with friendly service

By Tryg A |

A nice irish pub with the menu selections you would expect to find in an irish pub which is what i was looking for. The shepherds pie was very good. The service I received was both friendly and the food came out quickly. Good beers on tap. Certainly worth stopping by again the next time I am in NYC. Very casual atmosphere.

Delightful and delicious

By Womonwriter |

We were headed down 30th St intending to go to LaLisse (wonderful) when a fire in a fireplace caught my eye through a plate glass window. That's how we found Crooked Knife, which turned out to have delicious food in a charming atmosphere. We split a portobello sandwich and a roasted beet salad (both with goat cheese and ample for two), and ordered fancy cocktails. I forget what my "Irish American" whiskey and organic ginger drink was called, but it was delicious. It was altogether a delightful experience. Though there was a faint smell of wood smoke, the fire was gas logs.

Wonderful birthday dinnner for 12

By Sheryl J |

The service was pleasant and efficient. Nice menu at a reasonable price. Members of the group also went here for after dinner drinks on two following nights. They were happy with the setting and service. Convenient to our hotel.

Great local restaurant and bar with a real foodie chef!

By ScalesJ |

This place is a hidden gem! The food was fantastic, some of the best we've had on this trip. They must have a real foodie chef as the menu was excellent. The atmosphere is very cool and we would even go there just for drinks as well in the bar or sitting outside. Highly recommend.

Fantastic Food

By Ajjinxed |

This is just opposite our hotel and as we were waiting for our room to become ready we popped in not expecting much. It was infact superb. We both chose a burger: the chicken and the crooked burger (steak). They both came with a side of chips and homemade slaw presented on a wooden board. Staff were really welcoming and service very good. It was only just the start of the dinner service when we arrived so not many people in. However even with so few people the atmosphere was still good. Only here 4 nights but would consider a second visit.

Well worth finding

By Tripsmakemehappy |

Good food, served well - little treasure. Pretty wallpaper in the ladies!!! Feels cozy and friendly glad we found it

Nice atmosphere

By Dave E |

Whether you are having a meal or a cocktail, the Crooked Knife is a good retreat. We were staying just around the corner and looked forward to our 'night cap' there. Friendly informative staff.

Want a local bar, this is it.

By Louis C |

Working in the area while in NYC once a month I have become a reagular here. Friendly bartenders, and Friendly patrons on the other side of the bar. The surprise is the food, yes your regular bar grub, but the chef is willing to step out and try new things, always good. The mac and cheese is to die for, you will need to share. The salads are alwasy fresh, try the beet salad, great dressing on fresh grrens. If you in the neighborhood, I suggest you stop by, usually the same locals in the corner with great conversations. I am there every other week or so and always feel welcome and comfortable. Live music one nite, I just remeber which night.

Best food and welcome in new york

By Pauline C |

This bar was 1 block down from our hotel The Roger. We received a warm welcome immediately from the waiter/barman who was chatty and interested as to where we were from etc. We were 2 friends from UK who were revisiting new York after 15 years since our last visit. We tried cocktails and ate fabulously prepared food. We made several visits and were never disappointed. Midtown Manhatten middle shops and tourist spots. Ideal location and open late too. Special thanks to Justin, Sam, Sonya and all who served us. We will return. Well done guys you all have a great work ethic which UK youth could learn from.

Midtown great brunch

By Torrie D |

We started out not so good, arrived 10 minutes early and the made us sit outside in February?? Not cold so it was ok but not very friendly... Could have seated us and brought coffee?? Ok maybe I'm being a picky tourist from the south, But once we were inside it was good to excellent omelette as was the unlimited mimosa's in a carafe no need to bother waitress for a refill. Good atmosphere music and decor. A bit loud on working bar side but overall a winner.

Liked this place. Great staff

By Peter S |

First visited to watch England get robbed by USA in ladies world cup game. Game not on TV but they were happy to switch channels. Came back for dinner same day and next and next. Food really good and we asked to meet chef to thank him. Staff could not have been more helpful and good beer selection too !. 10 out of 10.

Brunch with Booze

By rtn225 |

Found the restaurant by a Google search and took a chance. The brunch menu was varied and included bacon, tiny salad and hash browns. The selections were omelets, eggs Benedict and the norm for breakfast. Salads and burgers were also available. For those who like a Boozy Brunch, for $48 you got your meal and unlimited bloody Mary's or Mimosas for 2 hours. The food was good and so was the service. The atmosphere was warm and fun. The Bloody Marys were spicy! It is on the list for a return visit.

Great Space!

By Alexis |

It's nice to find a bar in midtown that isn't overly crowded. It has a big space, and I went for a birthday party that had about 12 people and we were able to take up a few tables easily without disrupting others. Drink prices were what you would expect in midtown (slightly more than the village). The bartenders were nice, and everyone had a great time.

A great find!

By Sheran M |

We came here on arrival in NYC as it was opposite our hotel. We arrived in the middle of the lively brunch session on Sunday and what a great vibe it had. The staff were so attentive and kept apologising for the wait but we were enjoying the lively atmosphere! We got seated and the food was really nice. We came back here for dinner on Tuesday (basic menu but lovely food) and again for lunch on Friday before flying home. Lovely restaurant with nice food and a lovely atmosphere. We recommend it!

Warmingly inviting

By Malcolmfire |

Great little place with good food particularly mention sliders & chicken pot pie. The staff are delightful, particularly James, who always made us feel special. Very friendly even the owner Mick pitches in when busy & when not will probably regail you with a few stories. Of all the places we’ve been we will remember & miss this the most

Lovely food and great atmosphere

By Fussycitygirl |

We went there twice as we loved the food, service and music. great value and good atmosphere just at the back of the hotel we were staying in.

Hope to come back soon...

By Familie H |

Great. Had a nice evening at a nice location, very good food and the second best Whiskey in the world (next time Connemara?)... ;-)

Quaint Hidden Gem

By amandaconklin |

We had a fantastic meal at this quaint little restaurant. Great food, friendly staff and cute decorations for a nice homely feeling with a fireplace too. We would highly recommend this place for a fun dinner.

Good atmosphere and food reasonable

By Emma P |

Probably a 3.5 star in reality. The atmosphere was good and staff were excellent. We had the chicken burger and chicken pie and both were reasonable but slightly under seasoned for my taste. Overall it suited us for a quick dinner.

to go too

By Shery |

after our favorite bar at trhe Roger close,Dona recomandens us to come here, the perfect pub, round the corner, non pretentious.thank you

Service and food not consistent

By madlizzie04 |

Went here twice during our stay as opposite our hotel, on the first evening the service was great as was the food (loved the dessert and cola in jam jars). As we had been so impressed the first night we went back sadly we didnt get the same quality in food or service! One of waitresses was on duty both nights and she was working really hard, the other could do with going on a customer service course as looked miserable when she wasnt having a cigarette and struggled to get her attention. The food wasnt as good as not cooked properly and we had to wait ages to place our drinks and food order.

Just pain awesome

By dbgiggles |

Love the atmosphere, love the quaintness and recommend everyone to to try everydish on the menu. All 4 of us tried something different & everything was just spectacular. Salmon was beautifully prepared, Sheppard pie s-n-l said was best he has had; daughter had pot pie it was to die for & steak was perfect. Thank you Mike. Great place.

Fun Sunday Brunch Spot

By Experiences99 |

My boyfriend and I went to this brunch spot right when it opened at 11am thinking we would get a table. The restaurant was completely booked so we sat at the bar. Great bartender with tasty mimosas and bloody Mary's. The eggs benedict and the frittatas were really good. Music was a bit loud for a Sunday morning especially since it was rap music, lol, and we were out late the night before.

Awesome restaurant/bar

By demendieta |

The Crooked Knife is a nice down to earth restaurant, located near Madison and Park Avenues. Enjoy Happy Hour(s) and friendly bar staff. Prices are reasonable and food is good!

Good food, readonsble prices

By Phil P |

Good food at reasonable prices ensured we returned to this place again during our stay at the Carlton, just around the corner. Not as noisy as some nearby, decent beer and pricey wine.

top ale house in newyork

By tony b |

Visited new york with a group of friends been this bar restaurant before this time it was even better food excellent staff brilliant grt value for money we stayed for 5 nights and went every night because it was just opposite our hotel and a grt meeting place for our group also had grt entertainment on monday and tuesday nights top bar man from grimsby

Boozy Brunch

By janewhiteman15 |

Great service, tasty food, staff explained when they needed the table for the next sitting at the beginning which is understandable and topped us up constantly, they even let us take our last refill to the bar where we got chatting to two lovely ladies and had 2 more rounds of drinks - excellent day

Radically inconsistent service is holding back great food

By NorthernSpy |

I hit this place for lunch at least once or more a month and the atmosphere really can't be beat, especially in winter when they have the two fireplaces lit. The food is really quite good. But the service is consistently inconsistent, one day reasonably efficient and the next nearly absent and it can't be explained by crowds or number of staff present. There's no rhyme or reason to it-- we've had great service when crowded and lackadaisical service when empty and the reverse. Go for the food and the fireplaces, but avoid going if you have any kind of schedule you have to meet for getting out of there.

Surprise Sunday Karaoke

By Penny D |

Popped in for a quiet dinner and a couple of gins. Excellent mac ‘n cheese! At some point the bar started filling up and a charming drag queen set up a karaoke and cranked up the entertainment. Some brilliant voices kept us going til 2am. Awesome, spontaneous fun, albeit a sore head in the morning. Highly recommend this charmingly staffed, fun little place.

Good food and great atmosphere

By Ahia L |

Went there for a quick bite and drinks. The food is good and the service is nice. They have a great bar service with a lot of options. Recommended!

Bottomless brunch . Lots of noisy young people having fun .. That's what it's all about !!

By LondonLockwood |

Wandered past here as hotel is round the corner .. Bit of a sing - a - long going on so decided to check it out. The place was absolutely alight with kids trying to get there monies worth on the 39.00 dollar bottomless bloodies or mimosa brunch . Sounded like they were doing a decent job ! We managed to bag the last table. The food was perfectly fine. .. A burger for me and salmon cakes for my better half .. Service was impeccable .. Only downside was we are both 59 and I wanted to be 21 again ! Well worth a stop if your local .. Enjoy !

Okay food, lousy service

By Bruce C |

For the price in mid-town, the food was okay, but it was more than offset by lousy service. They clearly sell a lot of their "bottomless mimosas and bloodys" for brunch, and while there were many people working, it seems like all they cared about was making pitchers (which weren't even that good - couldn't imagine drinking more than one of those). Very disappointed in the place and would not go back given the service. So many other places that are so much better.

The stuff of dreams...

By abbymccuen |

My husband and I were looking for a yummy, low-key meal one night and The Crooked Knife was suggested by our hotel concierge. I read a ton of reviews about their Mac and Cheese, but unfortunately, they were out. Super bummed we asked the server for some recommendations. He suggested the nachos and sliders. Both were amazing! Nachos? At an Irish pub?!! Crazy-I know! The nachos were literally the BEST I’d ever had! Our glasses were never empty and the server was super helpful. The plates were plenty to share. I can’t wait to go back and get that Mac and Cheese!

Lunch

By palsfam |

Great food, great service. Great beer. I will keep this restaurant on my list of restaurants to visit when in New York. Staff was very polite and helpful.

Hidden gem - great for weekend brunch

By CincyTraveler1983 |

Wife and I had a great brunch at The Crooked Knife over the weekend. I had the steak ciabatta, she had the eggs benedict - both were cooked perfectly and presented very nicely.

Perfect bottomless brunch

By Laura E |

Three of us sat at the bar (as no reservation) and had a fab brunch. Bottomless mimosas were delicious, as were the entrees. Friendly staff who weren't shy on the pours!

Good unpretentious local

By nikkineale |

Went to The Crooked Knife as it was literally round the corner from The Roger where we were staying. It's definitely a pub with food, rather than a 'gastro-pub' as we'd know it in England, but honestly the service was great, the food really tasty, plentiful, with good choices and a really nice homely atmosphere. If you want to escape the hustle and bustle and chill out its the one for you!

Great place

By shmagic |

We loved the pub type casual atmosphere here and popped in for a prosecco most evenings either before going out for dinner or for a nightcap. We had a snack to share since not too hungry and it was delicious just chilli and nachos but nice flavours. We missed out on the Irish night but heard was great fun. On our last day before checking out our hotel...we didn't want to shop or walk..Sun was shining so we sat outside and had a couple of farewell prosecco and a delicious open sandwich to share. Lovely girl topped us up with the remains ...such great friendly people. Will miss you and will send all our friends there.

Disappointed

By NYtraveler025 |

This was not our first time we had brunch here, but its been awhile. In the past, we would go there for weekend brunch without a reservation..They have a rule now, that you must have a reservation on Saturdays or Sundays . Without it , you are sitting at the bar..So, Ok bar it is..There were many open tables , and the entire time we ordered drinks, ate our meal , talked awhile , those tables remained open..I observed people , obviously not having a reservation, leave..it seemed stupid. We enjoyed our brunch and the bar was fine, but it was puzzling why so many tables were being held for people who didn't show up.

Drinks and food

By cosmoprincess |

The Crooked Knife has a great happy hour with a wide range of drinks, the music on Tuesday's and Wednesday is good and service is fast and friendly. The food is excellent - a good selection of dishes and all the ones we tried were delicious.

Excellent Night out.

By Frank Kiel R |

My wife and I just had the most wonderful meal at The Crooked Knife. A wee bit to the expensive side, but the food was excellent, the ambience was cozy and the waiter was ever so nice. I highly recommend this nice restaurant if you’re in midtown Manhattan.

Great neighborhood bar

By Eduardo S |

Wonderful friendly, warm and laid-back ambience. Friendly staff, very okay bar food. Unpretentious and very comfortable for a group of friends who just want to have a good time.

Great service!

By Jeffrey S |

In NY during Halloween and Marathon. Wait staff was friendly and nice. Had no reservation and still was seated without made feeling terrible about it. Food was great! Recommended.

Don’t miss this Irish Pub - terrific

By jackiepaddy |

Friday night - party of 4 - raining out - looking for a neighborhood spot for some beers and pub fare. Can’t believe it was our first time to Crooked Knife. Fantastic service - welcoming and attentive. Very comfortable atmosphere - nice bar - good tables - some sofa seating at tables - window views - TVs - draft pints $8 - wings $15 - chicken quesadilla $15 - roasted Brussels sprouts - $9 - delicious crispy chicken sandwich - $19 - charge a credit card fee so pay cash to avoid that

Top pub

By Chris M |

I was staying in the hotel opposite and popped in here near every day, the drinks are cheap and had two meals here and they was cooked perfect both times, and all the staff were very friendly and very welcoming I would recommend if your in New York the you check this place out

Lovely bar for a few quiet afternoon pints

By NoelPrendiville |

Stopped in one afternoon after a long walk. Some fine pints, great friendly service, lovely vibe with just 4 or 5 others to share the space. Will definitely be back on next visit to NY

So so

By pacha835 |

Went here for Brunch and must say it was average . Food was ok but not a lot came on your plate . Most important thing it seems is to keep mimosa flowing (very weak ) which is endless . Loud taped music really is a conversation killer . There was a good atmosphere here all right with plenty of tables on the go . Staff were very good .

Nice good value

By 08062003 |

Went to here as it was close to our hotel- nice staff nice food and ok price - nothing spectacular but good value for central NYC

Love this place

By Mark H |

I've been lucky enough to visit NYC 3 times in the last 2 years from Ireland and I always seek this place out. Great location in the midtown, a couple of blocks from the Empire State Building. We have had some great nights in this pub. Staff are very friendly and supremely professional but personable at the same time. There seems to be a group of regulars that sit at the corner of the bar a bit like norm and cliff in cheers and they add to the character and atmosphere of the bar. Have eaten there also several times and never once been disappointed, the pulled pork being a particular highlight. Well worth checking out

Sunday Brunch

By Runnerny2244 |

Had brunch here with a group of friends. Loved the mimosas and the staff was really friendly. Did the hamburger and it was ok. I left hungry to be honest, and I'm not a big guy. There were like 5 fries on my plate. Overall it was good. Everyone had great meals. I did ask for the burger plain, but it just seemed like a very small meal.

Went 3 times but only for drinks

By BoshSurrey |

Friendly service and good atmosphere with outside tables as well. A beer was around 4 to 6 dollars. It stays open til 4 am some nights but I never made it past midnight. It is 90 seconds walk from The Roger. The doorman there recommended it. Can't comment on the food but it looked nice.

Great little bar

By SarahMW2014 |

We went to this bar a few time when in NY. Very friendly, helpful staff. Good choice of drinks. Good atmosphere. Seems to have been open very late some nights too.

Nice place for food and drinks and a real vibe of NYC

By Danny316 |

We ate here on a Friday evening around 6pm, the bar area was packed with people who had just finished worked and there was a lovely vibe to the place The food and service were good but it was the atmosphere that was the real selling point

OK

By stonerose5 |

Went one weeknight and was pretty quiet. Had nachos with beef chilli to share, they were OK but could have been better, perhaps more cheese and some guacamole? Shame as had a nice bar area and yet again in NYC a decent range of beers!

Quiet evening Meal

By ErniH |

We went on a Sunday night - it was handy for our hotel. However very quiet as most people do Brunch on Saturday and Sunday. UK visitors will find it expensive for what it is. We had a cocktail each, a portion of Calamari and salad to share as starter, which was very good, Salmon with potato and green beans which was of good size and tasty and shrimp taco, which was just three small shrimp tacos with not a lot of shrimp. Including tip came to ÂŁ79 at todays exchange rate! The waiter was really lovely and chatty and we had lots of fresh water. But that is how he earned the tip. The tip was for service more than food.

Warm atmosphere, and comforting food

The Crooked Knife

By John G |

After an aborted visit to Wolfgang's Steakhouse ( see separate review ) we had a dinner here during a two night post-cruise stay in New York. As soon as we entered the restaurant, we were 'hit' with the 'hubbub' inside - the place was 'heaving'. However, the Waitress found us a table and brought us the menus. Immediately next to us was a table, nominally for 4 people, but had a very noisy group of 8 or 9 young adults around it, one of whom in particular was very very loud. The Waitress apologised and said she would try to find us a table somewhere else a bit quieter, but none became available before our food, the Chicken Pot Pie, arrived. The pie was delicious and the 'Fat Tyre' draft beer excellent, which made up for the noisy group next to us and, anyway, by this time our ears were numb so were able to 'switch' out that noisy group. It's a pity that the Management didn't ask this group to quieten down because a party of 4 came in after us, sat down but took one look at this noisy party and walked straight out - a loss to the restaurant.

Good experience

By Paula D |

Nice place we popped into. Good environmen. nice and attentive staff. Short but efficient menu and very clean restrooms.

Nice Hangout

By Willi S |

Visited "The Crooked Knife" a couple of times during our stay at the hotel next door. Service was great one day, but a little slow, the other day. However, nice place for a cool drink. Reasonable prices for NYC...

Laid back

By GalbraithTravels |

Very relaxed atmosphere with friendly staff. Live Irish music the night we were in (tues night). Good food.

Good value

By Melissa Y |

Food was good. Strong poor on drinks. Joked with waitress about 2nd round of drinks being on her and she actually didn't charge us for them. Would visit again.

Pleasantly Surprised

By Dorothea218 |

I stumbled upon this bar/restaurant while walking around on a recent visit to New York.I had the Prime Rib and was delighted with the presentation and taste. The service was good and I loked the ambience. I will definitely eat here again on a return visit.
