We went to celebrate a friend's birthday party on the rooftop. Everything was fine until they decided to close the rooftop for the night. One of my friends wanted to just take his bag where he'd left it (on the rooftop) but the bouncers decided to not allow him. When he requested them, they started shoving and pushing him around. Terrible place. When a friend decided to video this, the bouncers began hitting him too. The head of security didn't believe us initially. Finally, as we were stepping out we took a photo of the entrance and the bouncer began pushing my friends and hitting them. The head of security then decided to escort us downstairs. While he did tell us he would fire them, I don't think that's likely. So, if you're going there for a good time, DON'T.

Be advised: you CANNOT get into this bar unless you are dressed very nicely. There is no dress code listed on the website, but there is one enforced. You must be dressed "upscale." This must be a new policy, since we've visited before in casual/dressy casual clothing and had no problem getting in on a Saturday night. We were attempting to go to our friends' thirtieth birthday party, but we were rudely told we couldn't go up because we weren't dressed upscale enough. My friend was wearing a cute black top and skinny jeans. I was wearing a dress and leggings. My friend called the manager who pretty much said that even though there is no policy on the website, it is at the doorman's discretion. He offered to make an exception if we were willing to pay a $400 or $500 per 5 people minimum (I don't remember the exact number, but it was large). New York has no shortage of bars, so our friends rounded up the group that was already upstairs and we all took our business elsewhere. Altogether, it was a very unpleasant experience and put a damper on our friends' milestone birthday. We will never return to this bar.

I would go again just for the views and a few drinks but please note it seems like this bar caters to a younger crowd (think way under 40) but it is hip and the drinks are good.

I recently had the Celebration of my Husband's Life at the Crown Rooftop. Everyone loved the food and the amazing views. When I returned last week to show my out-of-town guests the venue, both Nesha & Alex were so welcoming & treated us to drinks & hors d'oeuvres. Nesha runs the show & Alex is an excellent bartender. They are both very professional & very welcoming. I recommend having your event here. Unfortunately, Max, the audio visual person was incompetent. Despite meeting with him beforehand to discuss his part, the microphone did not work , you could not see the slideshows & he was unable to play the music I selected. Fortunately, Max is no longer part of the team. Avoid him at all costs.

Myself and my partner booked this rooftop bar as we had heard about the amazing views. We originally were sitting inside and the service was amazing. It was a lovely night out so we asked if we could sit outside and they arranged a table for us which was great. However we were so disappointed when we sat outside as the level of service became non existent. We sat for at least 20 minutes while the staff served everyone but us. Despite numerous attempts to order a drink we were ignored and thought it was best to just leave. When I mentioned this to the staff they couldn't have cared less. In a city full of rooftop bars, service should be perfect considering you have so much competition. We will be going anywhere but here next time we visit the city.

stunning views towards uptown. Thai chicken burger and hummus and pitta were very nice. comfortable seating to admire the view

Views from here are nice but confused by the bar itself. Located on top floor of the Hotel 50 Bowery, you walk into a club-like feel with dj spinning music but the energy is kinda low. Bar menu is limiting. Mix of tourists staying in the hotel and locals. Went twice and felt same both times.

The Most amazing views. Do Breakfast Lunch Dinner and at night becomes a super cool Bar vibe. WEe spoe to locals that said it is the talk of Manhattan atthe moment .

I don't know how many fantastic rooftop bars and restaurants there are in New York but if you have not been here then it's worth adding to your list. We were staying in the hotel and therefore convenience played a big part in our decision to visit. There was a steady flow of people who would come in for the one drink (but plenty of skyline selfies!) then leave, perhaps to move on to the next rooftop bar. The price of drinks was probably in line with similar venues and we had no complaints on the service.

Great rooftop bar at the top of 50 Bowery Hotel! Great drinks. But the real gem is the amazing view. We had wonderful weather and such a great time. They also serve light appetizers. We visited twice on our trip!

The Crown has the potential to take off. I like a place that I don't need a promoter to tell me how cool I need or have to be. Editors take note. It's the guest and the staff that make the world go round. And a lot of kindness is what the world tells : these are the new rockstars. Best views ever. None of the decor makes sense. Keeps the rent low man. Just come up and tell them Anne Marie Global from Colorado sent you. Wink.

Super fun, hip and beautiful. The scene and vibe are great The wine was mediocre, however. Bar is atop Hotel 50 Bowery.

I did not stay at 50 Bowery but I did go to the rooftop bar for drinks. The views of Manhattan were amazing from the outdoor patio. The drinks were also quite good. A bit on the expensive side which is a good thing because it keeps a certain type of crowd away. I was there on a Thursday night and the place was quite full. It does not matter if you are not staying at 50 Bowery. You can still come up to have a drink and enjoy the views. Ask for Slyvie (Hope I spelled her name correctly) she will make you some good drinks!

We stayed at Hotel 50 Bowery so we visited early in the day, during happy hour and later in the evening on multiple days. I HIGHLY recommend a day visit. The music and crowds are brutal in the evening. The line for the bathroom was a solid 30 minutes at night (plan ahead). The service was not great at the bar or with the wait staff. VERY difficult to get waited on if you're outside. But the views make it worth it!

I attended this bar last year and had a great night. Good drinks, good vibes, fantastic views. I went with a few friends as shown in the photo (faces changed to protect our identities). I decided to go back last week with my wife. We had already been to another rooftop bar and I suggested going to the Crown as it was so good. We were both well dressed as we'd been out on a good night out. They asked if we were guests. No. Asked if we had a reservation. No. The girl then took the time to look us up and down and tell us we went dressed properly. It had just turned dark and she told us we were too casual and that they only accepted a more formal dress code as the night went on. It was quite humiliating tbh. As you can see in the photo, the last time I was there we were dressed very informally. There are many rooftop bars in this area of town and I won't be back spending my money at your establishment again.

My review is regarding a Fourth of July Event that I attended at the rooftop bar, The Crown. It was sold as expensive tickets to view the fireworks from the outside rooftop deck. We arrived in the afternoon to secure a table, as we thought it would be busy. Some tables had "reserved" signs on them and others did not. We sat at a table for two hours that did not have a sign, only to be abruptly and rudely ushered out of our seats by staff, who said that if we wanted that table we should have bought it. There was no outside service so I went in to purchase cocktails, only to be locked out of the deck with countless others as there were too many people on the deck, I.E. these greedy people oversold tickets for the venue's size. In short, I missed the fireworks and was separated from my husband for the remainder of the evening. Contested the charge on my credit card and was contacted by the venue. Left message for the Crown with no return phone call. Now, I need to take it up again with my credit card company. Truly.....truly ....truly the WORST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This rooftop in NYC is famous for young people Here to have a drink and listen to excellent soundtrack of music. If you are an hotel guest you would prefer the quietness of a morning over there to get the most of the view without any noise but the one of nyc ; contemplating the view from A large sofa on the terrace is incredible. Almost 360 view available with the 2 terraces ; lounge ambiance Should be >18 (or 21) to be granted at night ; no issue during the day.

I can't stop writing about this hotel as we were enjoyed so much our stay! is it because our sentimental of long hotel going to begin? No this place is really a GEM!

Great view over Manhattan and nice atmosphere. Two balconies to sit outside. We loved the cocktails. Worth the visit

My friends and I went to The Crown for the 4th of July because the bar made it seem like you could see the fireworks from the balcony online. This was not accurate. We weren’t even sure when the fireworks started. We realized later that there was a building blocking them. In addition to not actually being able to see the fireworks, so many tickets were sold that maximum occupancy on the balcony and in the bar were far exceeded. It seems like it is a nice bar overall, just don’t go on the 4th of July if you want to see the fireworks.

There was a strange vibe here with the staff, but the setting was stunning for breakfast and the a la carte menu featured a beautiful smoked salmon entree that I loved and was much better priced than the buffet which was clearly overpriced. I loved coming here for breakfast three times - every day of our overnight visit.

The view at night is incredible, but the prices put me off! So expensive for what we had, nearly $100 for 4 gin and lemonades!

Excellent cocktails, amazing views and plenty of seating! Such a fabulous place to watch a NYC sunset!

We made 7pm reservations for a Wednesday evening. Arrived early but no problem with early entrance. We had a great area that would seat 4-6 comfortable right on the corner so great views. We were there for sunset and got some great pictures as well. My daughter had a manhattan that she said was very good. I was drinking wine for the evening and my rose was fine. You had to order at least one foot item and since we had just come from dinner we only ordered a pretzel so can not comment on the food. There was not a great selection but would be fine for happy hour. We stayed about an hour, got some great pics and then sent on to another rooftop. We did say that we would return in the warmer weather as it did get very cold but the time we left.

OK, it gets really crowded and loud. The drinks are OK, and a bit overpriced. But the view from the roof deck here is completely amazing, day and night. 100% worth visiting.

After arriving in the hotel we had some drinks here and shared a mexican plate, extremely good! Nice music (dj) and great views over Manhattan!

My friends and I bought tickets for their 4th of July party because the website specifically stated a "clear view of the official Brooklyn Bridge fireworks." We would have never paid nearly $100 a ticket with service charges otherwise. However, we couldn't even see the fireworks because part of the building was blocking the view. They were absolutely false advertising to sell tickets. To make matters worse, they sold too many tickets and the roof was so overcrowded you couldn't even move. My friends came from out of town specifically to see the fireworks, and I was embarrassed that this was the experience I suggested. I emailed the company to complain and received no response. Horrible management. I will not be going back.

Wonderful views from this rooftop bar. Two very spacious outdoor patios are available. Service was prompt and very attentive. We went twice during our stay at hotel
Must see
Nothing like the skyline view with a great cocktail. Great music too. The scene was happening. Must see.
