Lovely lunch

By Angela B |

Met a friend for lunch and didn't disappoint. I recall the BLT but not the photo of my friend's dish. I'd stop by when in the neighborhood to try other things. Service was fine and we were sat on the outside, covered seating.

The Hottest Spot in NYC

By sharon P |

This is my go to spot for comfort food . I was a little skeptical about the Johnny cakes and fried chicken . Worth every bite . What an amazing combination. My friends had the breakfast, could not even finish it . Their exact words . “Wow! Thank for choosing this place.” Excellent staff, very attentive, Great Vibes . I highly highly recommend this spot .

Okay food

By UH60Blackhawk |

Nice atmosphere, but the food is just okay. I got the Grey Dog breakfast. Eggs over easy, bacon, hash browns, and pancakes. The coffee was VERY bitter. Must have been in the pot for hours. Eggs over easy should be runny. These were more like scrambled. They obviously broke… but they figured what the heck. I wouldn’t notice. Pancakes were average. Kind of flat/thin. The bacon, however, was perfect, thick cut bacon. The service was very attentive and fast. Overall a good experience. But I’ve had a better breakfast in the City.

Great service and delicious food! Can’t wait to go back

By CobbStar |

We came here for dinner with our 7 year old son during Happy Hour. We didn’t have to wait for a table and were seated straight away. The service was brilliant…all the staff were really friendly and helpful. We had a number of sharer dishes from the Happy Hour selection which were all hot and delicious. Our experience was so good we have booked in for brunch in a couple of days time. Would highly recommend

Highly recommended for a NYC breakfast

Wow what a fabulous find in NYC. A wonderful menu with huge choice of delicious breakfast dishes. Great atmosphere and well presented food. Attentive service and would definitely recommend and hope to return.

Highly recommended for breakfast

By Katharina D |

We have been here twice as service, menu and food have been far too good to not come back. In total er ordered the granola, Grey Dog‘s breakfast, French Toast and avocado toast - we loved everything. Prices are comparable with orther restaurants nearby

By Asdis E |

Really nice place for your day to start Breakfast was fantastic we ended up going 3 times and the kids were sad to not be able to go the last day! frenchtoast and the ommelet was the best good service, we always got a table although we did not reserve but we were also there before 10 o clock will come again;)

Very Good Breakfast

By vette999 |

Visiting our family in NY and they took us to Grey Dog. We had table outside and all ordered breakfast items. Sam J was our server and was efficient and friendly, We ordered: 2 French toast, vegan burrito and egg & cheese croissant with sweet potato fries and drinks. It was 1pm and even though it was busy the food came out quickly piping hot. Everyone enjoyed their choices. The french toast was outstanding with raspberry orange syrup, maple butter and berries. We will definitely return here next NY visit.

Fantastic place for breakfast

By Gladioli |

Fantastic! Our favourite place for breakfast during our recent stay in New York - in fact we liked it so much we came here twice. Great atmosphere and decor, friendly staff and delicious food. I especially enjoyed the Grey Dog's Breakfast with scrambled eggs and avocado. Highly recommended, and we'll definitely return if we're in New York again.

Great breakfast!

By RogueBG75 |

Whenever my wife and I and travel, we always try and find places 'off the beaten' track for breakfast (or any meal for that matter!) and not just opt for Starbucks or the like. The Grey Dog was just a block or so over from where we were staying, and a great stop to fuel up for the day ahead. We both had the blueberry pancakes which were amazing, three large in a stack...incredibly filling! The restaurant itself was nicely decorated and from the menus on offer certainly looked to be a good option for lunch or dinner also. Shout out to the staff too, all friendly and welcoming. Keep up the good work, we will return if ever in NYC again.

Amazing diner for breakfast !

A superb diner for breakfast, amazing range of food and drinks that will really set you up for the day ! Great service too from the staff.

A fun place for breakfast

By Tom G |

Loved breakfast here. We didn't have a reservation, so there was a short wait. However, by the time we left, there were tons of people trying to get a table. It's got a great atmosphere, moderately noisy, but nothing over the top. The chicken and Johnny cakes was especially good, and the hash dish was really delicious, though I wouldn't call it a hash, more like a stew. Really had a good time here.

Nice Breakfast

Nice Breakfast, Extensive menu We had Avocado toasts and Classic Omelette. Delicious Coffee ( cappuccino) attentive service.

Excellent gluten free

By Rusi2604 |

Looking for gluten-free options in New York, we ate at this restaurant where celiacs are very cared for. The place is very nice and the staff is super friendly. Gluten-free cinema sandwiches and meat dishes with vegetables and rice, too. Without a doubt if you are looking for gluten-free options this is your place.

Alright !

We had breakfast there twice during our stay. We were well received, the dishes were good and plentiful. Very nice setting! I highly recommend

Disappointment

By Arielle C |

What a disappointment! We went there for dinner. Our 3 dishes of cheese pasta were heavy and my husband's onion soup acid. I thought we would do our HQ there during our 5 day stay in NY based on the comments but we retreated elsewhere! Only positive: Very nice staff.

What a find!

By mmm10 |

What a find! My husband and I went to grab a coffee and we happened upon this casual gem! With sidewalk seating and lively indoor seating, it was inviting enough to draw us in. We sat at a table on the sidewalk with an umbrella for shade. Being visitors to NYC, it was really enjoyable to people watch and enjoy the city sounds as we ate. The omlettes were delicious and hearty. Because we already had coffee, we only had water. I wished I'd already had coffee because the cocktails look amazing. Our server was attentive and very friendly. This restaurant has a casual, lively and cool vibe. I highly recommend it!

American rich breakfast in original location

By Thorsten B |

Visiting Dec. 9, Hadten reserved, is better in NYC. Funny location near Flatiron-Building, subtly decorated for Christmas, very friendly and attentive waiters. We had "bottomless" coffee - is automatically refilled, then the Grey Dog Breakfast with French toast and Classic omelette with mushrooms and bacon and cheddar cheese. Big portions, delicious food. Absolutely nothing to criticize. Prices New York Style- nevertheless with $51 incl. Tax but without tip one of the cheaper breakfast locations in our week.... There are a few other branches we'll visit next time...

Delicious brunch!!!

By Nickeeet12 |

We had the spicy pineapple margarita, pistachio avacado salad and the breakfast bowl and LOVED it all! Cute place, great energy and lots of delicious choices for brunch !!!

Great place for lunch!

By Mark W |

Great casual spot for a quick lunch. Friendly staff and fast service. They have a nice selection on their menu. Great place to try!

Average

Cute and unique interior, but nothing super wow or out of the ordinary. Hostess was not particularly friendly and wouldn't let us sit until everyone in the party got there. Waitress was friendly and attentive. The breakfast bowl was super skimpy for the price.

Great cafe serving food that hits the spot.

By Deb023 |

A great find for breakfast. Excellent coffee and the food and service were both great. I had the avocado on toast with two lovely poached eggs , my husband had an omelette. We enjoyed our breakfast so much we recommended it to our family who went later in the holiday. They too could find no fault.

Good.

Restaurant in local colors, with a menu of sandwiches, bowls and breakfast. Welcome a little cold and jaded but a lot of people on this Saturday with the market on 7th Avenue.

Brunch

By Canuck82_10 |

Family had french toast, omelette and fried chicken with johnny cakes. We ate outside at their patio. Service was good and good was delicious.

Busy Brunch with options for all

By meworldtraveller |

Brunch was good, good options for vegan, vegetarian and all others. Had the chilaquiles which were soggy so I didn't enjoy it too much. The rest of my party had the bowls, the grilled cheese and french toast and they liked their dishes a lot. Very busy place definitely needs reservations and you can only be seated at the time of your reservation.

Greydog is a fav in NYC

By Angela B |

We had brunch here - it was delicious! We had a reservation (as the place is small) and had to wait a beat for a table. The espresso martini was AH-MAZ-ING! They do offer a variety or coffee drinks, soft drinks, etc. we all ordered something different and all enjoyed our breakfast! We had a hard time getting wait staff at first but as soon as we got the attention of someone they were very nice and very accommodating. Food came out fairly quickly and hot! The decor is super cute - I love the annual pictures they have hung around the restaurant!

Nice place, closes early

By TheCityBreakers |

We went here for dinner straight after we arrived in New York and enjoyed burgers and beers. The venue was quirky and the staff welcoming, but we felt rushed as our server asked us if we wanted another drink without telling us they were about to close (around 9.30pm).
