Excellent breakfast!

By Becky H |

My daughter and I had pancakes, hers with chocolate chips and mine with blackberries. Three huge cakes! The fresh juice was delicious too. Service was fantastic and friendly. Good coffee, too. I’d come back for lunch!

A side of bad attitude to follow a poor entree

By Rachel W |

This is a very busy place, but that doesn’t excuse poor service. We ordered three meals which were predominantly chicken. I managed to eat through half my sandwich but it was so tough that I gave up at that point. Not once during our meal were we asked how the food was, so the opportunity to express disappointment was not provided. We were also out of water, and that was never checked upon or topped up. When someone came to take our plates I advised that I’d been unable to complete my meal, so she got our server who basically told me that I should have found her to inform her. When I said that normally during a meal the server checks to see how things are going, her response was that she was really busy because she has the whole section to look after. When I advised that that wasn’t my issue, she said that she could take something off the bill, but I’d already eaten half of it, to which I advised that therefore I would pay half. She was not happy and went to get the manager who removed my meal from the bill. He was very good about it, but she was lacking in customer service, and for the remainder of the meal gave me the stink eye at every opportunity. Bad attitude and bad food, made for a poor combination overall

Small restaurant, but good home made food available here!

By kathycV6399HQ |

The Grey Dog is close to old St. Patrick's Cathedral in Little Italy. The food is all homemade and very reasonable in price. We had their homemade soup and you are given a large bowl, with a slice of bread.

Brunch

By Bubski1905 |

Great spot with great food. The service really stands out at this restaurant. The food was delicious and had a very local vibe. Not a tourist spot. Perfect for a meal along with a mimosa after a long walk

What a disappointment

By Theresa K |

This place is such a dump. We went there for Sunday brunch. We had to wait for 15 minutes at the bar to place our order. Then wait again at our table for 25 minutes until the food arrived. They delivered the wrong order to my son and the gluten free flatbread I ordered wasn't even cooked properly. When I asked them for some gluten free toast instead and asked to change my son's order they didn't even apologise. The smoked salmon I had was also disgusting. My recommendation...avoid this place!

NYC trip

By hwbolin |

Family of four ate here for a very late lunch/early dinner, 4:30 pm. Long line to order food but a very friendly host held a table for us. The food was amazing. Highly recommend the apple and Brie sandwich and the French fries were super! The kids enjoyed the Mac n cheese and the philly steak wrap.

Fantastic Cafe

By Chelsea S |

Fantastic chain cafe with excellent atmosphere sandwiches and soups. One of my favorite places to go before seeing an event at the nearby Housing Works bookstore.

Efficient, Friendly, and Yummy!

By kbdelapaz |

My vegan daughter found this restaurant online and it did not disappoint in real life. We each got a great breakfast to our tastes - from lots of great options. The counter staff was SUPER helpful and friendly. Highly recommend.

Great food

By ellelund |

Stopped by for Saturday lunch when many other restaurants are fully booked. This place is relaxed with great food and friendly and profesional service. Recommended.

I’m well traveled and exceptionally

By Carl C |

I’m well traveled and exceptionally fussy. Love the pay first concept, no silly 10 minute wait when you’re done. Now the serious part , food is exceptionally good. Market Fresh ingredients, cooked perfectly. Pancakes are just sublime. The standard breakfast was far from standard, swapping out sausage for avocado, highly recommended. Service - friendly , attentive and snappy. Atmosphere, relaxed and just easy. What’s more half the price of others in the area.

Unexpectedly delightful

By Joistraaten@gmail.com |

When our original dinner plans fell through because of a three and a half hour wait, we wandered upon The Grey Dog. Having some food allergies, I was skeptical that I would be able to eat there, but I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the zucchini spaghetti with vegan pesto and it was quite tasty. My husband ordered the veggie burger and thoroughly enjoyed it. Our friends had the salmon salad and mac and cheese, and they both were good. The atmosphere is fun albeit a little loud, but we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and time at The Grey Dog.

Good food, good service

By ciara h |

We ended up coming here 3 times during our trip to New York. Twice for food and once for drinks. Servers were very friendly. Nice relaxed atmosphere. Good value for money and very tasty food. Would definitely recommend it.

Cute and Funky

By K.S.G. |

I recently had brunch at The Grey Dog on Mulberry Street. Upon entering one is given a bandana color which is placed on a table saved for you so that you can order your food from the counter. I ordered the breakfast quesadilla with bacon and told that it would be delivered to me by calling out my name. I took my coffee and sat down at my designated table. Water, utensils, napkins, seasonings, coffee cream and sugar were to be fetched by me at a nearby station. It took a little longer than it should for my food to come out. Sure enough, a young man came through the room calling out my name until he found me. Everything was very good, but nothing special. It began to annoy me that servers would constantly be calling out peoples names as they roamed the room, and that I had to get up to refill my own coffee or to grab the salt and pepper. Seating was tight, so this made for awkward moments. Plus, everybody else was constantly getting up and down too which made for a few traffic jams. It did make for a lively atmosphere which I suppose is what they're after.

Nice place and good service

By Sverre R |

Very nice atmosphere, and friendly staff. Good food too. And nice music. We went for the nachos with beer. The food arrived quickly, and tasted very good. One of us picked off some of the jalapeños to make the food a bit less spicy. All in all a very good experience, except the flimsy paper cups used for serving sour cream and guacamole. Half way through the meal they were soaked, and falling apart. Just a small detail, but very easy to fix.

Good food, good staff and good atmosphere

By Princewell O |

My wife and I went here to have dinner during our last trip to NYC. The concept is basically that you order at the counter and the food will be brought to your table after a while. Don't get fooled by the concept though. It is not fast food, but a proper quality meal. I had the veggie burger and my wife the nachos. Both dishes were outstanding (especially considering the low price). The atmosphere is very laid back with a young student-like client base. Some good music playing the background. Staff is very friendly and cheerful. Highly recommend this place for a nice informal dinner.

Great find

By Mark R |

We have recently ate here twice in quick succession. Our first visit was for a family meal. My wife had spotted the place and had commented at how full it was.. So we booked a table My wife and son ordered the chicken mac and cheese bowl and i ordered the Mexican bowl . We also ordered the Buffalo Wings. All 3 were fantastic Our second visit was for breakfast. My son ordered the Grey Dog breakfast and I ordered the avocado on toast. Again both fantastic We recommend

Sunday brunch

By Puredodee |

We had been out since 6am, subway to Brooklyn to walk back across the bridge and a slow all day walk back to midtown. We started to feel peckish around 11am, stopping to look in various deli’s and restaurants along the way. We had all but given up, believing we’d end up just catching a sandwich from somewhere when we stumbled upon Grey Dog. What a find! The staff were friendly, helpful and the food simply fantastic! We both had the Grey Dog breakfast with a slight variation to swap and share (sausage/bacon and pancake/french toast) Just delicious! The place was buzzing, a great find.

Lively, fun and great food!

By intinerant |

Found this tiny, funky little restaurant near NYU for late breakfast one Sat morning. At first, almost turned around and left as the line was out the door, but decided to wait it out and it moved very quickly. Order at the counter, find a seat (this is the tough part) and your food is delivered to your table. Good service, good menu with something for everyone, fun atmosphere. I had the tuna salad melt which was delish and my daughter had the Challah French toast, also very good. Quantities very generous. Coffee could have been bolder, but overall a great little breakfast/Brunch place!

Excellent

By dtpendergrass |

Food was superb. Cool vibe, can't wait to return when we are back in New York. Mac and cheese was incredible

Great breakfast restaurant!

By claudiaserrano |

Coffee was delicious. Service wasn't that great but food was really good as well. Also would say a little overprices, but quantity of food in plate was big so it was okay. It's a little hipster as well, more for young people.

Oatmeal to start the day!

By Wendy H |

I love the Grey Dog for their breakfasts, they serve up a great oatmeal breakfast which is my favourite start to the day. The coffee is good but not great and it was great I would have given them a perfect score.

An amazing, healthy and delicious breakfast!

By Lisa B |

We have eaten here several times on trips to NY. The food is amazingly fresh and locally sourced. The food and service are fantastic. It is a small place, so you may have to wait a bit, but every time we have come were able to sit immediately. There are only a few tables that sit outside, but if you can get one, it is lovely and on a shaded street. The granola bowl was amazing. The yogurt is so creamy and delicious and the fruit is so sweet and fresh!

Quick, easy and cheap!

By C.K |

We came here for breakfast a few times during our stay. The food was great, simple and easy. The coffee was always nice. The staff we great and friendly.

Great visit

By scottishreviewer |

Amazing customer service, and great food! Loved the decor and atmosphere too. Would recommend the omelette! Def will return

A good address

By Wilfrid N |

Welcome , warm atmosphere , and quality burgers decorated with sweet potato fries . Very reasonable price.

great menu and funky ambience

By LakeMamie |

Our concierge lives in this neighborhood and she told us about this place, and we were so delighted to find it! It's a neighborhood place with a very diverse menu and plenty of veggie and pescatarian options. We had seared tuna salad and fish tacos, and they were both delicious. We wished that our hotel were closer so that we could go back.

Great lunch

By angela0809 |

Really nice setting, friendly and friendly staff, great beer, super burgers! One of the best places on our vacation in New York.

The real deal for breakfast

By Otto S |

If you want to get off to a good start, you should go to Grey Dog and her the Grey Dog Breakfast. That's the real deal for every breakfast lover. Well cooked and plenty of eggs, fruit and whatever items you choose to your menu. And staff that will make you feel welcomed.

Great cafe!

By Jmazzola2019 |

We ran into the place randomly. It’s definitely a college type cafe, but they have everything for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The whole layout and design of the place is different than most restaurants which makes it so much cooler to me. Definitely going back next time!

Breakfast in Chelsea

By andrewomahony23 |

Had breakfast on two occasions at The Grey Dog in Chelsea on our recent trip to New York. Really enjoyed it - the food was great and very reasonable. The staff were all really friendly and it was nice to eat somewhere with locals and not just tourists

Unique Mix of Fun & Good Food

By April P |

Enjoyed introducing my friends from Maine to a new place they had not been in NYC. Quick service, good food and a warm and lively atmosphere. The memorable moments: The tables with maps, usually don't like to sit so close to others, but here it was a pleasurable experience. Everyone seemed to be in a good mood, maybe because we were all inside warm and not out in the 10 degree air. Serving your own water so you didn't have to wait on someone else. We had our order taken quickly and they even found a table for us before we completed our transaction. We enjoyed reading the signs and viewing the art as we sipped our hot coffees and waited on the food to arrive. Food arrived without much of a wait and we devoured a delicious quesadilla and one of us even was able to order breakfast after 11am. We all left with a happy stomach, warm and without spending the retirement savings. It has become one of my go to stops for meeting friends.

Breakfast/brunch that tastes like heaven

By MissGeorgiana |

We stumbled across Grey Dog while looking for a place to have an early brunch and it certainly did not disappoint. Fun and quirky decor, delightful staff and delicious food! Most ingredients seem locally sources or at least fair trade. Wonderful vegetarian/vegan options, can cater to gluten-free requests, and they of course have avocado toast. I always say that a breakfast place should have good coffee and they met that criteria too. Will definitely go back next time I'm in NYC.

Nice alternative to starbucks

By ISTDtraveler |

Met a friend for coffee before going on a tour nearby. Buy a mug of coffee for the same price as a small coffee at Starbucks and get 2 free refills while you are sitting there. Coffee was good. Stff are friendly but when the place gets busy they don’t let you just hangout and work on your tablet/laptop.

Girl Trip 2018

By elizabeth d |

Great food! Great service! Girls and I traveled from TX to NYC arriving at around 9am. We walked and found this quaint little place that was warm and welcoming.

Space pancakes

By Carmelo L |

Place to have breakfast/brunch/lunch. We had a classic American breakfast (eggs/French toast/potatoes/avocado) and pancakes which are served with butter, maple syrup and, with the addition of a dollar, chocolate chips (more than worthy in my opinion). 40 dollars. Definitely not cheap, but I've eaten worse for more.

Great Food, great service !

By Molly976 |

Friendly service & great tasting food. All the staff were very nice and the pancakes were insanely good. Would definitely come back!

Good food, great atmosphere - would return

By GeoRoadWarriors |

Loved it - what a great spot for brunch. Walked over from Grove and Bedford (!) - lovely neighbourhood - it looks like a movie set. Busy, but no issue getting a table. Great vibe - friendly service - good food. What else do you need. Would recommend and return. Had salmon/avocado salad, banana pancakes, egg croissant - all delicious. Coffee - both hot and iced good.

Amazing service, food, & ambiance.

By The_Mogz |

Amazing service, food, & ambiance. Food was really good and everyone in our was impressed! Will be back!

A joke ! An expensive joke !

By Margaux S |

Waiters and waitresses are friendly but totally useless as it is basically a self service. They didn't pay attention to our allergy related requests. My coeliac friend got a gluten-full plate ! Apalling.

Fantastic

By Ptwj |

Stayed at Sohotel, LES. This place was close by. Went for bfast first time based on TA review. Food was outstanding so we went back another day. Kids even wanted to go for bfast on day 3! Egg and cheese croissant was a huge hit. So was pressed chicken sandwich. Wait staff very friendly.

A local treat - go there

By Kirsten Aa. |

It’s our third visit at the Grey Dog and it was as good as 4 years ago. Food it tasty and has good variation. A cool informal atmosphere and an amazing customer service. We were asked if we could move to a smaller table and was offered both dessert and coffee for the inconvenience. Lots of smiles to the Grey Dog!

Average tasteless breakfast

By Titefleurlondon |

Nice little place full of promise but the food was so disappointing and expensive. Pancakes were not fluffy and average. I ordered a cheese and egg croissant and was dry and inedible... we left it and nobody asked why. They saw we were tourists and probably did not care. there are way better breakfast places in the area.

Best breakfast on our NYC trip

By Sam44London |

We were on the way somewhere else for breakfast and found it closed for refurbishment. A quick check on TripAdvisor revealed this restaurant nearby. What a find, one Local Omelette, one Egg, Cheese and Bacon Croissant, one Avocado toast and one pancakes enjoyed by our party . All very tasty. Good atmosphere. Worth a visit.

Jake’s new neighborhood

By Gary L |

A very cool restaurant with a great vibe with really tasty food at very reasonable prices. Happy hour was fun and offered even more specials. Friendly and welcoming staff!

Good, Quick and Cheap

By C Y |

Don’t expect anything out of the ordinary good or a great atmosphere. This is a coffee shop type atmosphere and the staff is always kind. Easy for a quick bite.

As an Aussie who has spent

By Polly M |

As an Aussie who has spent the last two weeks searching for good coffee, the first sip of my latte made me pull out my phone to leave a review. Thank you! Also great vibe and nice menu with lots of healthy options, including some for keto folk.

Favorite Restaurant on our Trip

By Pennymc128 |

Great little restaurant on Mulberry Street! We loved it and went there once for breakfast and once for dinner during our recent trip. Excellent both times. Cozy and decorated nicely and the staff were friendly. My husband said he had the best hamburger of the trip here, and I can recommend the breakfast and the Mac & Cheese. It would probably be our go-to place if we lived in New York City..

A great find! Amazing for breakfast!

By Adam S |

We stopped off here on our way around Manhattan and what a place to find! The place is small, but we were asked to order and wait for a table. As we were ordering, the staff found our table and kept it for us until we had completed our order. Amazing service followed thorough out. We never waited long, but the food was worth any wait. Delicious! Huge portions which kept me full for the rest of the day! Also the decor and atmosphere inside is really welcoming, friendly and cool. I would strongly recommend this place and want to try it again for dinner and lunch.

Fun sandwich shop in SoHo

By SingingAgnes |

Fun, casual atmosphere. Order at the counter and seat yourself. Lots of Gluten-Free options. Breakfast is served through the afternoon. You won't leave hungry! I had the turkey club sandwich and side salad. Definitely worth the stop!

Great Beer Selection

By SteveB834 |

We spent a few rainy hours here and the beer was great. The meat and cheese platter was pleasant if not a little overpriced for the small amounts on offer (even by European standards). I did feel sorry for the waitress who was on her own throughout and rushed off her feet, so service was a little slow (but very friendly and knowledgeable). I'd definitely come back for the beer.

Fun vibes and great food

By dustythoughts |

We stopped in here after taking a look at the menu, and absolutely loved it! This restaurant has a funky, fun vibe to it and is clearly a neighborhood favorite. The menu has a lot of delicious options for people of many tastes, so it was hard to choose. Our friendly waitress recommended the Breakfast Bowl to me, and it was delicious! My husband got the Goddess Salad, which was also really good. My iced chai really hit the spot, as I had been craving something cold and caffeinated, but also a bit sweet. There's indoor and outdoor seating.

You wont leave hungry or broke

By beachman65 |

Great breakfast for a great price. Traditional American breakfast or there where several people eating salads. All the dishes are generous sizes. The coffee and cappuccino where very good. They are open for lunch and dinner as well. The atmosphere is very casual, rustic chic, think college hang out but there where a lot of older people as well.

Chill little place

By Josh McJannett |

After walking through little Italy we found this little cafe/restaurant. It was a really authentic cafe with a vintage feel. We popped in for a coffee and a side of fries. Apart from a little wait for the food the service was good. The atmosphere was pleasant and it is situated in one of the better parts of NYC. It is situated away from the main tourist area which can be a nightmare, so it is worth visiting if you need a little sit down and recharge!

Perfect breakfast spot

By sisterpv |

Super friendly service fr m the girl taking our order to the guy clearing our plates. Food was perfect breakfast - eggs made to order, breakfast potatoes hot and tasty w the right amount of onions, pancakes w a fruit butter. Really couldn’t say anything bad about this place (except for the university of Michigan flag - since I’m an Ohio State girl). Definitely worth a stop if you’re in the area.

Brunch in NYC

By Alexzandra |

We came to NYC for 4 days and ate here 2 times in a row - need I say more? - Grey Dog was an unexpected gem of delicious food, especially their fluffy melt in your mouth pancakes and home made berry butter! All of the staff & crew were kind and friendly checking in on us and helping us where we needed! Oh, and the coffee is bottomless! The atmosphere is cozy and unique to the grey dog - the food is so fresh & lots of organic options! This is definitely our favourite brunch spot in NYC so far! Lots of space to sit and relax with a coffee or pint! We can’t wait to go back!

Fantastic

By fiascosf |

Great decor & atmosphere. The food’s great - breakfast at least...omelettes, pancakes, French toast. A little pricey, but it is NYC.

The great dog

By PineconeOnTour |

My family and I stumbled across this cute artisan restaurant, upon entering it had a great atmosphere. The staff were friendly and really helpful, the food was amazing and reasonably priced perfect for four Brits exploring New York City!

A home from home in Chelsea

By ClaireMc26 |

The Grey Dog is an oasis of down-to-earth charm in the busy streets of Chelsea. It's a bit hipster, but not painfully so. As very un-hip people we were made more than welcome and all human life is there. The interior is cosily shabby and the staff friendly without being at all intrusive. We made the Grey Dog our regular breakfast haunt and the portions kept us going through most of the day. Top recommendation would be the gluten-free french toast, with fruit, or perhaps a mountain of greek yoghurt with fruit and granola.

Even better than I remembered

By AwayDays_Rich |

Really not sure why I didn't give this 5 circles last time so here I am correcting my last review. Absolutely pouring down outside and landed here fairly easily from the subway. It was early lunchtime so we got a table in the corner near the window, it started to get very busy thereafter so be wary. Ordered at the bar, food and drink, all very efficient. My niece had the best Hot Chocolate she'd ever had and I had the best Club sandwich I've ever had, what a result. Great atmosphere in this place; a little bit quirky, plenty of character and a really buzzing atmosphere - we absolutely loved it.

Breakfast

By Paul C |

Found this place early Sunday morning, good vibe, great food. Great start to the day. Went back a second time for brunch. Give it a try

Good and adequate breakfast

By Yves S |

We'll save breakfast. The lockal is very nicely decorated and the staff very friendly. The food was very good and the portions rather large. From the price point of view, it's fine.

Great Food

By Bo L |

Great Food in great atmosphere, Great coffeeshops too and super service. We’ll be back for sure :-) We might meet sometime :-)

Great brunch location

By Zoe Fitzgerald |

Visited here as a group of 6. Staff were friendly and happy to accommodate by moving tables together. Arrived for brunch and ordered the breakfast tacos. Staff were friendly and prices reasonable. The chocolate chip cookie was amazing! Eaten before my breakfast tacos arrived which were just as good. The vibe was buzzy and I like the decor. Would highly recommend and would definitely return

Great service

By JennyLW |

This is a tasty neighborhood spot with really friendly service. Order from the counter & they'll tell you which table to take. My grilled cheese was yummy!

bloody mary and lunch spot

By Rhonda M |

My favorite breakfast in NYC

By WhereverIMayRoam |

I went to the Grey Dog on Mulberry Street three times during my weeklong stay in New York. I had pancakes for breakfast twice with freshly pressed orange juice. I went there once for a cappucino and a marble brownie. It tasted great. Very good pancakes and perfect cappucinos. I was served very quickly each time I was there. The Grey Dog is definitely my favorite place for breakfast in New York. Great food, people and vibe about the place. Very cosy and laid back atmosphere. I also like the way attention has been given to the interior of the place. Very creative. I originally only planned on visiting the Grey Dog once, but went there three times simply because I HAD to go back.

Lovely food

By Bigwednesday |

My wife and I visited here whilst we back in New York. It has a nice, relaxed feel about the place. The staff are friendly. We both ordered the chicken with sourdough bread and sweet potato fries. The food was amazing! Best chicken sandwich ever. Best sweet potato fries too. Prices are very reasonable. We will return !

Fantastic and reasonably priced!!!!

By CaliforniaGirl2 |

Wow! What a great breakfast. I had thw grey dog breakfast: French toast, eggs, sausage, fries. My daughter had the egg & cheese croissant. Everything was delicious and the portions were very large. Fries were crispy on the outside, moist on the inside. Scrambled eggs were light and fluffy. Really outstanding. So glad we found this place. Definitely a must go to if you're anywhere near Soho.

Fun place and DELISH food!

By Natalie K |

When you walk in, someone will help you, but the thing to do is to grab a bandana that hangs on a bar near the order counter and place that bandana on your table, saving that table for you while you are placing your order. Order and pay at the bar then go sit down. The kale salad was probably the best one I have ever had and my companion loved his hamburger. The music is loud and the vibe is funky and youthful of which we are neither and we still LOVED this place!

Great Breakfast Spot

By justindeans |

This is a great spot. Went off the back of positive reviews on TripAdvisor. It was so good we went two days in a row! Good coffee, great pancakes & omelettes. Good value.

Great breakfast

By DNL101 |

We went for breakfast and the food was good, there are good options on the menu. The wait can be long, but then again it’s worth it. If you are in a rush, it won’t work for you. But to sit and enjoy food, a plus

Great spot!

By Corrine |

This place has an awesome atmosphere and really funky interior! It's self service, so if you have a problem with ordering at the counter don't go here. We went with classic pancakes, eggs etc and it was all very good. Worth a stop!

Food and staff are AWESOME!!

By William H |

From the moment we walked in, the staff were amazing friendly and helpful. First restaurant that I've found that serves Fries Brussel Sprouts. I LOVE Brussel Sprouts, so I was in heaven. Highly, highly recommend this as a stop when in NYC!

PMG So yummY

By Niseko2011 |

We had the grey dog breakfast. The jam/butter spread for our French toast was so delicious. Pity we found this on our last day in NYC otherwise we would have gone there everyday!

yummy breakfast

By Lackerfollow |

This is a tiny restaurant with only a few tables, but the quality of the food is high and we all loved our food selections.

Go early for brunch

By Russell |

There can be a line for brunch on the weekends so go early. Upon arriving place your order at the counter. There are menus to pick up at the front door or it is on a huge blackboard behind the counter. A waiter will bring your food but you get your own coffee and water. Cool atmosphere and awesome food! Also located in a great area to explore.

Great Nolita find!

By mike f |

Eclectic cafe/restaurant on Mulberry. Had Labor Day brunch with some fabulous dishes! Good service and decent coffee. We'll be back !

Loved the Vibe & Food

By Jennifer D |

The atmosphere here was really wonderful. It was trendy and comfortable and we will definitely return. The food was really exceptional with large portions. The only little thing to know is that you order at the counter and get coffee refills there, too. They do bring you the food, which is good, but I might not have tipped full service for this partial service experience.

Brunch

By ElaineLanarkshire |

Visiting NYC and staying nearby we thought we'd pop in for some brunch. Staff very nice and friendly. Good selection of food. Portions are huge and the food was great too. Lovely atmosphere for a lovely brunch. Would definitely recommend this place to others.

My favorite spot

By Lesley B |

Everytime we come to NYC we come to the Grey Dog, I eat very healthy after losing 76 pounds, and this restaurant allows me to eat healthy egg white omelette. Also my favorite coffee in the city. Plus the service is fabulous every single time.

cool, fast restaurant

By farrelma |

At this restaurant, you order at the counter and then find a table and the food is brought out to you. I came here with a group of friends and we all enjoyed our food. There is something for everyone on the menu as it has a large selection. This place is popular!

Tasty, Fun, but Loud

By Gilthoniel4 |

My friends and I were strolling and running errands in the Soho area this past weekend when we needed a good place for lunch. A nice employee at REI told us to try The Grey Dog. First, the way you order at The Grey Dog is interesting. You place your order at the counter, pay and then the host will find you a table. Once your food is ready, they call out the name you linked to your order and bring it to you. Utensils and condiments are available from a side station, along with the ice water station. It works well, but the calling out of names can increase the overall sound level in the place, which is already loud, even louder. As for the food, we were all very happy. I had the steak and egg sandwich, served on a brioche bun with some sauted red onion. I was offered fries or fruit with it - I had the fruit and it was nice and fresh. The sandwich was tasty and just enough food, but warning, they usually cook the beef (which is shredded, not a whole piece of steak), medium well. My request for it to be medium rare was, however, filled without trouble. I was happy to see they paid attention to what I asked for. One of my friends had the nachos which she loved and it was so much food she took the rest home. My other friend had a burger that he liked a lot too, although his review wasn't an absolute rave. The only thing we didn't like about the place was the volume of the music and the overall need to shout at each other to have a conversation. With the music as loud as it was, the patrons all upped their own volume to compete - it all kind of built on itself. Even after they reduced it a bit at our request it was still quite loud. Maybe one of their other locations is less like a roudy frat party in terms of volume. Or perhaps its just part of the trend to produce an entire generation of people who will gradually lose their hearing and will need hearing aids before they're 50. Sigh. Anyway, good food, lovely people working there, just stay in the front or as far away from the music as you can.

Yummiest breakfast in a long long time!

By #MrWalker |

It's a beautiful sunny and cold morning. A waft of coffee aroma greets us as we enter. So we ordered: Piping hot coffee. and omelette with fries and multi grain bread and Grey Dog breakfast: French toast, scrambled eggs, bacon and sausages with strawberry and banana on the side. Add some honey for the French toast. Ooooo this is just superb.

Great food, great ambience and friendly staff

By DinFrance |

Popped in for breakfast on a cold weekend morning. A jolly trendy and hip place. An order-at-the-counter type place (you take the drinks with you and they bring the food over when ready). As per title, staff very friendly. Food was excellent - although probably not as big in quantity as other places have been to in US. On reflection though - i think it was just 'about right'. (My initial views being swayed by the fact that i have not eaten for almost 24 hours due to flight/time differences). Prices are - I would say - fairly in line with other NYC prices. In a nice and interesting part of town. Would recommend.

Breakfast before work

By Ana O |

I went there this morning to get a good breakfast before work, I waited for more than 15 minutes for get Scramble eggs and pancakes, I had 30 minutes before start to work. Detail: was only me waiting for food. I just cancelled and asked for refund (we need to pay before to get the meal). I ordered also a hot chocolate (came not more than warm) and I got one made from Hershey's syrup. Not cool for 4 dollars one. Good vibration in there, but they open before to be prepared to receive customers. Shame...

Good place with good atmosphere. More traditionel American dining which more ‘heavy’ arrangements. I had the breakfast with eggs, french toast and avocado. Good solid breakfast and a fairly good coffee latte

Great place to stay

By travelinx76 |

Small but efficient, Service is super friendly. High Price quality ratio with generous portions. At peak times they wait 15 minutes to get in.

Good eats

By sean u |

After a "red-eye" into JFK and a room that isn't ready we set out in search of dome breakfast and a beer (it was 5 o'clock somewhere). What we found was the Grey Dog. Food was good and ample. No pasta until 4 pm. Mimosa and Sangria with our food. Both drinks were small for the price. Breakfast, with drinks, was 70+ dollars. I guess that may be NY.

Brunch

By Plamen N |

Don't expect the typical brunch place. It's an American bar with sticky floor and tables. The food is nothing special, but it's delicious. Gorgeous blond lady works on the bar.

Last breakfast

By Colin M |

Last day in NYC so needed a good breakfast before departing home, the grey dog for the bill and was delicious. Staff were great, lively and pleasant, super service. There was 4 of us and we had everything from pancakes to bacon, avocado toast and not a single complaint 4 happy satisfied faces left there that morning

Great Breakfast & Staff

By Jeff |

Stopped here for breakfast before heading out for some sightseeing as it was close to our hotel. What a great spot - the staff was excellent and the food was great. We really enjoyed our experience here. Our only regret is that we did not make it back for a second visit before the end of our trip.

charming location, long wait to order

By Snappy B |

Had brunch here with friends on a Saturday. Greeted at the door by a guy who explained the process of ordering and table-saving. Felt like a long wait to order. Girl taking orders and making drinks had super long hair, loose and all over the place, which kinda creeped us out (hair in the food?). Food was good and servings are pretty big, so come hungry. Atmosphere is very cozy and friendly.

Yummy and cozy

By Alex Maximov |

Excellent place! Great food, drinks, atmosphere. Very friendly staff. I am definitely coming back :)

A geat find, awesome vibe and even better food

By Dale M |

Wandering aimlessly up Mulberry St. debating where to eat, we found this place by luck. Having walked roughly 9.5 miles that day around the city, we wanted somewhere chilled out and with healthy, inexpensive food away from the bustling crowds of tourists we had been surrounded by all day long. This place was the perfect match. The decor and ambience washed over us in such a relaxing way as soon as we entered & sat down. The service at the counter was welcoming. We each ordered a dish for dinner. I chose the zucchini spaghetti which was so fresh and delicious, my mother went for the classic burger, again went down a treat and my wife ordered the seared tuna salad. We had a terrific meal here and certainly recommend it for a break from the hectic crowds 5 minutes down the street and tasty meal.

Good eats on a cold day

By lakeviewlaw |

We needed a warm , dry place to grab lunch while shopping in Soho over the holidays. TA recommended the Grey Dog. This was just a fun simple meal that hit the spot. Nothing fancy.....just American style food with a NYC twist. The chicken sandwich was a winner.

Great food in a quirky setting

By Les D |

This place was recommended by a friend and I can see why. Great food and super friendly staff. System is a bit quirky, you order your food at the counter while a waiter finds you a table, they leave a bandana on the table which has been allocated to you. Great place, can't wait to go back.

Wonderful Breakfast!

By MollyPennsylvania |

Very hip and very good. Even if you don't understand their system of ordering and seating, the staff was super informative and friendly. The breakfast was huge and tasty. Even though when we entered the line looked very long, it moved quickly. Very tight quarters but worth the trip.

Great breakfast

By Mark V |

My wife and i had breakfast here on easter sunday. We arrived early, just before eight to a practically empty restaurant. We had the Cuban Press, a goats-cheese and avocado sandwich and the granola - and we were beyond stuffed when we left a practically full restaurant at around nine. The servings are big! Many options for bread, including gluten-free and sourdough. The food and service was great, can only recommend.

Amazing Breakfast & Gluten Free!!

By MyName |

We popped in from downtown for breakfast and wow! Place is lovely and friendly, food is excellent. I had Gluten Free blueberry pancakes and other half had a Philly Cheese steak with chips. They were both really excellent, especially the gluten free pancakes for me which were heavenly tasty and such a relief to find gluten free in the city. Everything was spot on!

Great food

By Lucas M |

I went here twice while I was in NYC, once for brunch and once for lunch! Their breakfast foods really take the crown overall, although they may need some new bowls and plates (as theirs are quite chipped and old) the food was pretty good, what really stands out is the rustic style off the restaurant!

Good food nice people

By PaulKerkhof |

As usual portions are much to big for us Europeans, but in this case it's of no inconvenience. Nice menu, plenty of choice, good coffee and most of all a very nice atmosphere. If I had to mention a downside it's the "fresh" orange juice. If you charge someone $ 4,50 make sure it's really fresh... oh yeah, don't be in a rush.

Very good

By Brenda E |

Very nice place, rich, american but rich food, nice neighborhood to walk after, Quick service, made a reservation but there was place available when I arrived

Perfect breakfast

By Gülnur G |

Perfect breakfast and a huge coffee. Eggs, potatoes, pancakes are incredible.Staff is helpful. Recommended!

Great food

By AspenTrees |

The food was incredible and the vibe was even better. Typical New York, but somehow the staff was very helpful at the same time. Would definitely recommend! gets super crowded for breakfast/brunch so be ready to stay in line!

Great Lunch! Great GF options!

By chelsey587 |

We were planning on grabbing some pizza but stopped in here as a few people in our group wanted sandwiches and we knew it would accommodate my gluten allergy. It is an order at the counter and bring it to your seat kinda deal, and they have a range of options including breakfast options, sandwiches, soups, burgers, etc. Many of the items can be prepared gluten free too, which is great as I am a celiac. I got the chicken salad with cheddar and bacon on a gluten free flatbread and it was delicious- best GF flatbread i have ever had. (They were made in house and I am so bummed I can't get them at home back here in PA because they were so good! )The hubby had a burger and said it was good. The rest of the group had sandwiches and soup and also agreed everything they had was delicious. I only ate half of the sandwich and was still full for hours while exploring the city- so come hungry! The only reason I took my review to 4/5 is because of the hoops I had to jump through to make sure I wouldn't get sick. My meal came with french fries and since they are cooked in a shared fryer I couldn't eat them due to cross contamination. I just asked for them on a separate plate so my mom could have them, and the girl taking the order said it was no problem, they came out this way, but when I went to lift the sandwich from the plate to eat it, there were multiple french fries there. I could not eat the sandwich at that point due to cross contamination. We flagged someone down and they quickly made me a new one, but when he brought it out and I asked again to double check it was on the GF flatbread, he wasn't sure and had to check again. It was and I ate it and did not get sick, but it was a hassle to keep going back and fourth. Despite all of this I would definitely come back next time I am back in the city!

Nice food, but overpriced

By banana-chips-14 |

The food was nice, but would’ve expected it to be exceptional for the price. Had the breakfast with french toast, bacon, salad, and eggs. And an orange juice (not freshøy squeezed). Pretty standard, but the price?! Honestly, you can find just as good (or maybe even better fatty breakfast) at any little diner or cafe. I guess what you pay for is the concept of the restaurant.

Quirky local place you're going to love

By APellecer |

We stopped by on our way downtown easily reached by the sub only two blocks from the closest stop. We went for breakfast and it was awesome! Definitely and quirky and unique place- they assign seats using small flags or bandanas; order at the counter and they drop the food to your table. Great vibes and a cool local place to visit.

That NYC vibe you love

By Maxime |

In SoHo, this small place brings you this NYC vibe you crave for when you visit that city. The deco is nice, well put together, which gives you this bohemian New York style, where you can sip your beer and eat your delicious Philadelphia sandwich with sweet potatoes French fries. Loved it.

Easy like Sunday Morning...

By Carolanne K |

This little gem was open early today(Sunday) so my daughter and I stopped in. The place is charming, the staff were quick to take the order, seat us, bring the food with a smile and in general keep things moving. Good background music. I had the baked oatmeal (see pic) and my daughter had the old fashion omelet. Both were great but gave a 4 instead of 5(which I pondered) because both dishes were good but could use a little lagniappe. Portions are large so sharing is suggested...coffee is yummy, sharing not suggested:) I would definitely go back.

Nice and relaxed atmosphere

By finntraveller2016 |

We were shopping nearby in SoHo and needed a place for a drink and a bite to eat. The location is handy and the surrounding area is a bit more vibrant and authentic to what SoHo is today. The decor is wooden and laid back, same for the staff. Menu is sandwiches, salads, burgers but all well made. We liked it there and can recommend this place for a stopover with a chilled out atmosphere.

Light bite

By caryn1958 |

Perfect spot for a light lunch in a quant neighborhood. Went in after touring the Underground Basilica Generous salads and sandwiches great for sharing

Superb.

By Blackforce |

We discovered the Grey Dog through the breakfast section on Google Maps. Superb breakfast. Really friendly staff. Nice and chatty and interested in who you are and what you are up too. Highly recommend.

More than basic breakfast

By Missbell22 |

We stopped in for breakfast on our weekend trip. It was a neat place. I got a croissant with bacon and avocado. It came with diced potatoes. Everything tasted fresh. It was nice enjoyable place to sit and eat and visit.

Great local place to eat!

By Cboy57 |

Our daughter found this place on line so we decided to try it for breakfast while on family weekend in NYC. Great food, large portions, cool local atmosphere! We will be back!

Just happened upon it...

By Beach_Addict |

So glad we did! Making out way to another resto (discovering it was closed) and spotted this a little further down on a Sunday morning. Exactly the kind of unpretentious kind of neighborhood spot that I like to make a habit of. Staff were friendly in taking is through the ropes of how things work...ordering at the counter first, then grab your table and your food will be brought out to you when it’s ready. Help yourself to your water, utensils etc. Had the delicious Avocado and Egg White breakfast sandwich, a mint tea and some fresh orange juice. Hit the spot and made me feel much more normal after a hard night!! Lol Don’t miss out on this great little spot!

Cute breakfast place

By Dominic C |

I love The Grey Dog because the waiter was on top of it and the food was the best Breakfast I have ever had! The vibes in the restaurant were welcoming.

Yummy breakfast!

By Kelly B |

Love this place, excellent gluten free and vegan options. fun environment too. Highly recommend especially for vegan and gf people.

As Good as I Remembered

By courtney9384 |

I haven't been in several years and was happily surprised to see that not much has changed. The sandwiches are delicious, while the service was even better than I remembered! We went right after the lunch rush, and the staff was helpful in getting us a table while we waited to order. Love coming by here for the brie and apple sandwich whenever I am in town!

The Grey Dog

By 377KellyH |

October 15th & 16th, 2016-I was in New York and staying in the apartment next door to The Grey Dog!!!! They were fabulous! I only had breakfast, but the salmon toast points were perfect! So good I ordered the next day! My sister got the poached egg avocado salad! Again, she ordered it twice!!! The pancakes and oatmeal looked really great! But alas, I only stayed two days! Very cute interior, art, I loved the Stephen Huneck prints!! Wanted to try the coffee--they were beautiful --but I opted for their iced house blend tea each morning (it was warm that weekend and I'm from Texas) and it was soooo great! I give this neighborhood cafe 5 stars! And I want to go back for brunch, lunch and dinner!! The service was excellent, very friendly!

Great Brunch

By Chris C |

Visiting NYC for a December weekend. Had a good Sunday AM brunch. Nice casual spot to grab a meal, friendly service.

Yummy Breakfast

By Judith D |

We couldn't get into another favourite of ours as there was a queue out the door so we wandered a bit further and saw The Grey Dog and thought, well, let's give it a go. Glad we did as the breakfast was delicious. We all had something different and all were very happy with the meals. The young man coordinating the people coming in did an excellent job and kept us informed about a table and made you feel valued, not just another customer waiting for a table. We were so happy we bought a pack of their granola and a coffee cup to take home! Highly recommend it.

Favourite for coffee and breakfast

By Frank_Says1 |

Grey Dog was my 'safe space' in the wonderful NYC, for the simple reason that I traveled on my own and during the two weeks of my stay in the city I sometimes just wanted to go somewhere that felt a bit like home - good coffee, relaxed atmosphere and great food. The staff were all very friendly (and one of the waiters was VERY cute!), so that made it even more rewording to return quite a few times. For breakfast I recommend the Ol'Fashioned Omelette or Village Pancakes. And for brunch/lunch the ~7 Sour Apple & Brie sandwich or the Philly Cheese Steak Wrap. I loved this place, and whenever I can I recommend it to anyone visiting NYC. Definitely a treat and easy place to have a quick bite to eat before you hit the streets of New York City for further exploration.

Life in the old grey dog

Great neighbourhood café in this interesting street in Little Italy ... cosy / warm welcome / satisfying food / friendly genuine service ... so good we came here twice!

Awesome surprise

By Departure621766 |

Found the place by accident. Excellent food. Great healthy choices. Will definitely go back. Right in the heart of Little Italy Thx Cheers

Great Breakfast

By diannenewman |

We came here after reading the reviews and were not disappointed. I had the granola which was huge. Kept me going all day. My husband had the Grey Dog breakfast with pancakes and it was great. Freshly cooked. Great service and reasonable prices. Would definitely recommend.

Great coffee and breakfast

By Danielle717 |

Delicious breakfast, friendly staff and a funky and clean setting. Best pancakes!! Would definitely go back.

Great lunch place

By Presley M |

Great lunches and they serve brunch items until 3:00 pm. Very friendly staff. We had Baja Fish Tacos and a Breakfast Quesadilla-- excellent.

4 tasty dishes tasted

By Koen M |

Nice place with good food. Found via TripAdvisor and definitely worth recommending. Have tried 4 different dishes and they were all ok. Also adjusting the dish a bit was no problem for their

Definitely , a great place to catch a bite to eat

By lani474 |

Four locations are scattered throughout the city. The staff were very friendly and helpful regarding menu choices. The food was very tasty . The setting was cozy for either a coffee , a friend's lunch, or sharing a bottle of wine. The menu appealed to a variety of tastes while the atmosphere was broad spectrum appealing to all ages. A great place to people watch or to just enjoy solitude / a slower pace of life . Great job!!!

Cool place and friendly service

By Bente A |

Passed this small but very cool place place on our stroll through Nolita area Had beers on the small covered deck in front of cafe - great place in the sun : ) Didn’t try the menu but definately on my list for next NYC stop-over trip!

Loud, small, quirky, poor food.

By raverjb |

We stopped for breakfast as it was highly rated. the food was all over the place with a crazy sized omelet that looked like it weight two pounds and had six eggs to eggs and bacon that were overcooked, under seasoned and tepid at best. The music was blaring and when the server eventually took our order at the counter, could not hear us even though we were yelling our order. Very small interior seating situation with no privacy and no quiet tables to speak of. good hang out for NYU students but not anyone else. Food was mediocre at best and I would not return for a second try.

I wanted it to be better than it was

By austria313 |

We had lunch here on a recent trip to NYC. It had a great vibe walking in and we were excited by the plates we saw other guests had. I think our mistake was by ordering lunch food rather than breakfast food. My chicken pesto sandwich was very dry and lukewarm. The pesto was barely there...The fries that came with it were good, but nothing special.

Great Brunch

By suzelep |

Had a delicious brunch at this casual restaurant with great atmosphere and a relaxed vibe. Love their system for reserving tables and ordering at the counter--it's so efficient. Food was delicious. I had the eggs with sausage and home fries and multi grain toast. My daughter had the omelet with home fries. Big cups for coffee and tea are a huge plus. Very welcoming place. Servers really friendly and warm. I'll be going back for sure!!

Just excellent

By Safari29305730891 |

Just excellent. Great atmosphere. Friendly service. Quality food. Highly recommendable for breakfast or brunch

WOW!!!

By AllenKaeja |

Totally surprising for my wife and I. GREAT atmosphere, wonderful and friendly Canadian like service and in such a relaxed and comfortable setting, we totally loved our dinner.

Cozy spot with great Avocado Toast

By Quills G |

There is no shortage of Avocado on the Avocado toast. The pepper flakes were a great touch.I really liked the ambiance and the food was really good. I would come here again. The seating is great and it was not too packed in the morning.

Good Dog!

By Nathan |

The Grey Dog is the jam sandwich. We stumbled across this joint on a Thursday afternoon and it ended up being one of the many highlights of our NYC trip. The service was excellent, the drinks were awesome, and the food was outstanding. If Nolita had a favorite pet, it would no doubt be a grey dog. These are facts.

Great little brunch spot

By mi95 |

Stopped here for brunch during the week and it was a fantastic little spot. There was a line-up but it moved really quickly. Despite the fact that it's a small space, they managed to find places for everybody to sit comfortably. The food was excellent and their coffee was great!

Great place for brekky

By Peter S |

Came her for breakfast twice it was that good. Scrambled eggs and house fries AMAZING. The coffee is really good too. Well priced, around 30% less than other cafes we had brekky in. The service is quick, the food hot and good quality. Plenty of options and you can pretty much build your breakfast the way you like it. Would highly recommend. In a nice part of NYC too so it’s good for a wander after.

American ambience compliments american food

By Maisie |

Staff were extremely friendly here which contrasts a lot of american diners in New York. I chose the American pancakes which were served with a delicious berry compote: portion was on the large side but sublime nonetheless.

Great place!!

By Claritafasciglione |

One step inside the place and i immediately fell in love with the relaxed ambience and good vibe, and how they organize their sitting tables... a nice surprise. On top of that the menu they offer is just great! Plenty of options for every taste. Order at the counter, get it on your table. We were visiting NY but it seems like New Yorkers also go there often. Totally recommend this place!!!

Great lunch! Lots of options

By OutofKansas2000 |

Great lunch! Lots of options for our party that had a picky eater, vegetarian and omnivore :) Nice, friendly service in the quaint atmosphere.

Great Little Gem

Brunch from heaven

By ohnanawhatsmyname |

Expertly made breakfast food & mimosas made right (champagne to juice ratio)!!! Not a long wait at all and very lively, tasty place. Price was right too.

Great!

By Fredrik B |

Its probably the first time I’ve reviewed a brunch but this was to great not to. We had omelettes sandwiches and soup. Great service good quality and a nice atmosphere to the place. If you’re in the neighborhood don’t miss it out.

Delicious!

By molangley |

We went here for lunch...fantastic! I had a gf turkey sandwich made on gf flatbread, my husband had chicken, green apple and brie on gf bread! Wow! Staff was friendly, food fresh, very gf knowledgeable, lovely dexor!

Excellent Food and Atmosphere!

By ifonly |

I loved the eclectic vibe and friendliness of staff. Food was terrific. I had been looking for breakfast tacos since I got to NYC 3 days ago . I will defiantly go back to try lunch soon.

My favorite spot in Soho

By maddiekorra |

I came here for breakfast twice and each time was more enjoyable than the other. The decor is fantastic and the music is very relaxing. The food and the coffee are amazing and the service is friendly and with a smile! I love this place, I want to copy it and move it to Houston!!

Vacation

By E I |

We had breakfast here three days in a row and loved it! Nyc feeling! Definitely coming back next time!

Delicious!

By Mimi F |

Had the French toast, egg and cheese croissant, all very good and seasoned perfectly. The chai latte was pretty strong, I added a shot of expression for that extra hmph for the day. Must go if you’re in the area. The staff was quick and attentive and we didn’t wait long for food. And it was pretty busy, at 11ish am.

Nice little coffee house

By Sokkerbum |

Great little cafe for just a coffee or having a full meal. Friendly service with a nice atmosphere and eclectic decor. We went back several times.

Excellent

By slimdave |

Had a breakfast here, 5 of us and we all loved it. Service was excellent, love the quirky hipster layout and vibe. Food was excellent, from the normal breakfast to the pancakes and everything else. Highly recommended

Great food, lovely decor

By popey89 |

Came here early last Sunday, just as they opened for food. Service was good and the food was excellent, I had the breakfast tacos and my husband had the breakfast bowl. Both were excellent and we agreed it was one of the best meals we had while in New York, and definitely the best breakfast.

Neat place, good food!

By melissarose88 |

We went here for breakfast and really enjoyed it. If it's your first time they will explain how it works, you have to order and pay at the counter and then grab your own cutlery, water, napkins, etc. They will reserve a table for you and then bring your food out and bus the tables. If you're looking for a nice, relaxing, sit down meal this might not be the place for you, but if you want a fun vibe, good food, and decent prices I'd recommend it. The service was very friendly! They sell mugs and t-shirts too, cute things to pick up as a tourist. I got the mug and I love it. We both had the Grey Dog's breakfast and it was very good, plus a good size portion. Enjoyed it and would recommend! :)

Awesome take out!

By Hsphoser36 |

We enjoyed take out of a brie and apple sandwich that was amazing with sweet potato fries. We tried the quinoa, a sweet potato soup that tasted better the next day, and an order of the avocado and pesto pasta. Least favorite was the soup but as I said above it tasted better the next day! Wanted to return to try more stuff!

Top notch

By TomWildenburg |

Great place with a small veranda, pretty cool interior and friendly staff in the hip surrounding of Soho. Best french toast of Manhattan en even great advice on wines. Definately on the list. To all of my 270K readers: go here!

Freezing cold space, rude host

By Michelle |

I've been going to the Grey Dog locations for over a decade. It pains me to write this poor review, but I have never been treated so rudely in any of the locations. The Nolita location is closest to my home. FREEZING INSIDE RESTAURANT: The temperature outside was in the 50s, but my friend and I had to keep all of our jackets and layers on to stay warm AND order hot tea to stay warm. We asked for the temperature to be changed. The staff changed the heat a bit. Then before we paid the bill, the restaurant doors were fully opened. The temperature dropped significantly. We left shortly after as it was too cold to finish our food, my friend took the rest of his food to go. RUDE HOST: We had our proof of vaccinations upon entering, but we were immediately shouted at quite loudly about masks. It was more hostile than I have ever been treated in any of the Grey Dogs. I grabbed my mask in my pocket and promptly showed my vaccines and booster info, but it wasn't necessary to scream at us. Our server Natalie was lovely. However, after this horrible experience, I do not wish to eat at a Grey Dog location ever again, there are plenty of other heated restaurants where I will not get shouted at.

Great Breakfast and coffee

By TtutT2013 |

Cool looking interior with a decent menu. We had one plate of the fluffy pancakes with syrup and berry butter and the grey dog breakfast special, which had 2 of the fluffy pancakes, bacon, fried eggs and syrup. Both were delicious and the coffee had free refills. It was perfect for a breakfast stop.

Good breakfast

By G.P |

We chose this restaurant because while walking by the street we thought it was the cutest place. So we got in and we were welcomed by two very kind waiters. Many options to decide what you can eat. We had brunch here and all the things we ate were definitely great.

Strong Breakfast!!

By Guillo T |

Excellent place to have breakfast with friends, big plates (to share), nice music. Good space inside. Highly recommended.

Delicious and Fast!

By MichelleCofAkron |

Went here for lunch after we had just arrived in the city. We both have a lot of dietary issues and it was super easy to find something that we both could have. We both had salads that were fresh and delicious. Staff was friendly and prices were reasonable. Great find!

Staff is great :) Food too...

By Ty S |

Had a good time at Grey Dog. A friend and I ate early on a Saturday morning, somehow avoiding any rush (it was also 4th of July weekend). Staff were eager to help in any way possible, and made sure our food was to our liking. It was great. Prices are fair, quality coffee and breakfast available. Felt like a respite from Manhattan for half an hour. Thanks Grey Dog!

Great healthy food

By Stephen M |

Really enjoyed the food. Have been vegetarian all my life and felt that this was the place I was looking for all this time. Brussels sprout starter brilliant. Ordering system a little awkward and not sure why I was drinking wine from a jar but overall great with great music

Best Brunch Spot!

By allenthealien |

Had brunch here with some friends, love the eclectic vibes, the staff were extremely kind and generous. Food was amazing, definitely need to try their coffee it’s absolutely delicious.

Good place for a casual stop

By alcoka |

Went for lunch, nor realizing it was more of a coffee shop first which offered an extensive menu. Good menu options, and gluten free bread available. Took a long time for our order...almost 20 minutes which seemed like a long time for 2 salads and a burger. Didn't like having to pay for an iced tea refill when it was just mostly ice. I like that they will save a table for you while you are ordering.
