What an Amazing place!

By Chris T |

One of the best beer lists in the city. A cool, low lit , swanky place that all the locals goto. The food is on point & very reasonably price! A must visit if your in the area!

Awesome Bearded Bartender, Tasty brew, interesting cocktails

By rmcdUSA |

Love this place ! My hubby and I visited on reco from brother-in-law that frequents. Perfect spot to drop-in before catching the tram over to Roosevelt Island. At reco of bartender, my hubby and I tried a variety of different brews experiencing the same level of goodness with each one. Our bearded bartender was, oh so knowledgeable, about the different beers on tap. After getting to know us a bit and our tastes, he expertly made recommendations we, both, thoroughly enjoyed. It's refreshing to try new drinks and to experiment on different flavors. We would have never ventured beyond our usual without his guidance. And the Irish whiskey was so enjoyably smooth. We sat at the front bar but there are additional bars and seating in the back. We went on a Saturday night and most of the crowd were 20-30yo. We are older, late 50s, yet felt quite comfortable and had great conversations with fellow patrons and our wonderful bartender ! We didn't eat, but the food looked good with decent portions, small menu selection. Next time we visit, I'll have to try one of those fancy mixed cocktail concoctions that we watched in awe as our friendly bartender, turned mixologist, created and even fired up in front of our eyes. So fun!

great happy hour - good beer selection

By Lindsey S |

My friend discovered this place somewhat near her apartment when she was looking for a craft beer bar that served take away growlers. This spot is in a relatively tucked away place (right near the Queensboro bridge) and not something you would typically notice, but I'm glad she did! It was early on a Tuesday, happy hour time - like 5pm - so we were lucky to get to try some of their cheaper offerings for a couple of hours. They even do $1 east coast oysters - so I hit that up. Their beer selection is pretty huge and off the beaten path. They also change their menu rather seasonally so you won't get bored with their offerings. They have a selection of sandwiches and a charcuterie board (which we tried) and everything was tasty and relatively inexpensive. Definitely a spot worth checking out post-work if you are in the area and like craft brews. My friend tried something called "orange wine" which I had never heard of before. She said it was interesting, not something she would have all the time, but hey, it was something new.

Pho Taco!

By JoJo10701 |

Great beer and awesome menu! Our bartender was perfect, there when needed. He recommended the pho taco and I’m glad I listened, it was absolutely delicious.

Nice

By Walter F |

Great selection of craft beers on draft. Waitresses working behind the bar were very helpful and made great recommendations. Plenty of space for elbow room and not noisy. Truffle chips were good.

What a great beer and coffee place!

By erwingr |

WHile visiting New York, I more often visit "the Jeffrey". Great local and micro brewery draught beers and great coffee, Also the staff is great and really nows to advice on the beers. Finally the decoration is interesting with old gas pipes etc. The Jeffrey is really worth a visit

Ridiculous craft beer selection

By kzc27 |

I admit, we have been known to plan trips around fun beer. The Jeffrey- with a hot off he presses menu every day- takes this to a new level. Bissel Brothers... Are you kidding me? Oxbow? The choices were over the top. Service was great.... And the food was good, too. Try the bacon wrapped blue cheese bites with fig. Yummy. Always fun to be around people who know their stuff!

Best Beer Bar in NYC

By MikeMNh |

Stop by, and you'll know why... great rotating selection of beers, friendly staff, and wine/cocktails for the non-beer lover crowd.. Something for everybody! Oh, did I mention the outdoor patio...

Craft Beer

By keith b |

Had a great experience here. The choices of craft style beers was very good and i enjoyed all of those i chose. They also have an outside patio that was very enjoyable and even though it was early November during my visit we had a great weekend weather wise as it was around 62 deg so we sat outside. The service was great and our waitress was very friendly and helpful. One last thing, i admit it may sound odd (it did to me) but try the "Devils on Horseback", it was bleu cheese stuffed dates wrapped in Nueske's bacon with wholegrain mustard. Must admit they were quite good. Anyway, if you like a good craft beer and nice but "neighborhood" type atmosphere give this place a try.

Great beer, food and TVs...What more do you need?

By Caroline L |

Went here with coworkers and had a great time. Great list of beers with good suggestions by the staff. There's screens around the place with sports on and there's even a nice courtyard in back -- It's not covered in winter so if you're ok to brave the cold it's nice. Otherwise the inside has a chill setup for drinks and eats. Food wise it's bar type foods although i must say the cheese and charcuterie plates were good (we did one of everything...twice!). Cheese & Charcuterie plates (comes with bread basket, cornichons, dried apricots and mixed nuts) *Meats: Tasso Ham (good), Prosciutto Di San Daniele (always good), Finocchiona, Venison Paté (meaty and not that gamey) Cheeses: Cypress Grove Goat's cheese (nice tang), Spring Brook Cow's Milk, Flory's Truckle, Gouda On special was a cheeseburger which a few of the guys had which looked good and came with the housemade potato chips. No fries in this joint! Good place for happy hour or even just normal drinks. It's chill with a lively atmostphere. I'd definitely go back.

Great beers and Taco Tuesday!

By Osusana |

Just arrived in NY and looking for craft beer, we located this place and what a find - really busy and we could see why. Two tacos and a margarita (or beer for non margarita lovers) for a set price on a Tuesday. Really good tacos, excellent beer, great service. What’s not to like

Great craft beer & charcuterie!

By agglovestotravel |

Visited this cool craft beer bar twice in a weekend in NYC. My husband loved the craft beer options (he seeks out great beer) and we be enjoyed the charcuterie board, twice! Everyone was super helpful & friendly. Hit up city hops nearby, great craft beer store.

Lively bar with wide range of beers

By wesharry |

Friendly and very busy bar. Wide and interesting range of craft beers. A touch expensive - but this is New York! Useful description of beers available on leaflets on bar. I did not eat but the menu showed plenty of choices at reasonable prices including vegetarian options

Absolutely superb!!!

By matty603716 |

Me and my other half popped here tonight and it was absolutely perfect great selection of drinks and super friendly staff please go here if you are up for a drink or some food 10/10 Will return

Afternoon Drinks

By RyanS933 |

Place was quite busy but beer garden closed due to snow. Service was excellent, very friendly and efficient. Great beer variety and many other drink and food options. Small but nice place for some drinks.

Pit stop while walking around Manhattan - Loved it!

By cking27 |

My family was in town for a wedding ( a few of us ex-NY/NJ'ers). I love my IPAs and we were looking for a spot to stop and rest. The location is a bit out of the way (on 60th) but don't fret it's a cool bar with a great selection of craft brew. The staff was very friendly. The patrons seemed mostly to be folks that live around here with a few tourists. I highly recommend this if the weather is decent (as it was when we were there) as there is a back porch with picnic tables. It was great to sit outside and watching the Roosevelt island tram cars heading off in the distance.

Active sports bar with nice beer selection

By UWLAW68 |

Visited with several people and this is a loud neighborhood sports bar where conversation requires shouting. Burgers decent and atmosphere of fun.

Great beer bar near the Queensboro Bridge

By gazmanjones |

I’d been wanting to go to the Jeffrey for some time as I’d heard such good things about it and I was really glad that I did. It’s a great little bar with a fantastic beer selection and really friendly staff. There is also a very pleasant beer garden out the back. I didn’t eat, but the food coming out of the kitchen looked very good indeed. Great atmosphere and well worth a stop in if you’re near to the Queensboro Bridge.

Nice place

By Sepp E |

This bar was recommended by my girlfriend's friend's sister. Totally worth going going there. Exotic beers, decent food and overwhelmingly friendly staff!

A night with friends...

By Mike A |

Planned a night with some friends which started here. Good idea. The beer list is nice and the burger I ate couldn't have been better. It's not cheap, but you are in New York City.

Craft Beer in Upper East Side

By Justin R |

Big selection of craft beers with a type for everyones taste. The cheese board we had was also a winner

A Diamond in the Rough

By Dealmaker752 |

We stumbled upon this wonderful small beer bar and coffee bar on the upper east side of NYC. What a treat. The crowd was a mix of mid age people and it was packed. The draft beers were amazing as well as the cocktails and coffee selections. Great bar tender who knew his stuff. The snacks were truly great. The warm pretzels and truffle oil popcorn are an added treat. This was a real New York City experience

Great service

By Colinda S |

Went here to have a few drinks and a small meal. There was a problem in the kitchen and therefore we had to wait quite long for our food. As a service we received free drinks on the house and were Well informed about the problem and How long it would take: great service! :)

nice beer selection

By John M |

Maybe it was just an off time of the year but i wasn't crazy about the beer selection. I tried a few but nothing really did it for me. Nice little place and the menu has some nice selections. I had the beet deviled eggs and the bacon wrapped dates. Both were great along with the reuben which was also good. I'll try it again and maybe get luckier with the beer selection.

Casual catch up

By Jamie S |

Met a friend here who I hadn't seen in a while. It's cosy and dark and nicely decorated. It looked like they have a nice beer garden but it was closing when I got there. I drank the Graft dry cider and it was perfect. The pretzels are amazing for a snack with drinks and the tacos I ate were incredible. I will be back!

Great place to stop on your way to the Tram.

By jfbgianni |

Lots of beer choices and the food is very good. Can sit out in back and relax or stay inside. Will surely go back again.

Great beer range

By MaxDamage |

It won't be a long review as it was only a fleeting visit. Came in with four stars in the New York craft beer app. By UK craft beer standards a five star bar, 20 beers on draft plus many bottled. The menu was standard pub fayre and just a bit noisy which drops a mark for me. Even still well worth visiting if you are a beer aficionado.

Nice surprise

By tandb0406 |

We happened to be in the city for an appointment. I looked for a new place to eat that wasn’t far away and found this place. It was a nice surprise! The atmosphere was nice. There was an area at the bar, of which there are two, one on each side of the restaurant. I wish I would’ve gotten a picture of the setup. They also have tables one can sit at. They are all high-tops. There’s a bit of construction going on right now behind the building. They are going to have some outside seating once it’s done. If you like beer, they have a large selection of crafts. Then, make sure you get a bite to eat to go with your beer. We had the meat/cheese appetizer. That was quite good. It comes with a whole basket of sliced brioche. After the appetizer we each ordered 2 of the 5 tacos that they . They are a bit pricey, but quite delicious. The pho taco was the best! The Greek taco was a close second. Two reasons I didn’t give it five stars- First, the place was difficult to find. The Lyft driver wasn’t even sure where it was. We had to walk around (me on crutches) to find it. Second, I mentioned the tacos were a bit expensive. The beer was also. But, I guess in NYC one has to expect that. Our server was very friendly and helpful. I think I might take my sister there the next time I have an appointment.

Unique place with great food

By Nancy R |

Will always stop at this Bar when in town. Afternoon is great time. Delicious food, snacks. A bit pricey but great variety of beers. Very narrow, not much room to move. Pleasant atmosphere.

Awesome!!!

By Rohit |

Their beer collection was really good. Service was great. And the hummus was the one of the best we ever had. Kudos!!!

Amazing beer selection

By YosemiteFlowers |

Truly the absolutely best beer selection in all of NYC. So good that we visited 4 out of the 5 days of our trip. If you are a real beer snob and not just following the crowd you will appreciate the time and effort that went into this selection. The Ruben sandwich was worth writing home about too. The Irish gentlemen bar tender went above and beyond with service and helping us around the neighborhood.

Serve good bacon here

By WhenPigsFry |

It's legit bacon. I had a Turkey sandwich that regrettably did not include bacon on the menu. Guess what? BIPPITY BOPPITY...BACON! They added it on for me and that sandwich broke my heart when it was gone, into my belly. Good people, nice location and NOT an overrated factory like many others in the area. Good beer selection as well.

Great End To A Long Day

By dr0823 |

Stopped in here after a long day of visiting museums, etc. Interesting location near the Roosevelt Island Tramway/Queensborough Bridge. We had two kids in tow, and it was relatively family friendly. A pretty chill place with a fantastic beer selection and good bar food. Spent a solid two hours here. Looks like the back patio area would be pretty awesome in the spring/summer, but it felt like 2 degrees when we visited, so we stayed indoors. I'm definitely coming back to this place.

Terrific Food, Staff and Management

By BlackiesGirl |

My daughter and I just last week stayed in the Air BNB that is located in the same building. The staff at this place were so lovely and helpful. The Manager was beyond helpful just made everything flow for us so easily he was joy to communicate with. Loved the food here, especially the COB Salad, my favourite of all time. Do not hesitate to go inside this quaint little place it just rocks.

Nice Bar and Vibe - Check the Bill though!

By thistravelingdesignr |

The Jeffrey has a very low key pub charm about it. The long narrow bar greats you as you walk in, with more high table bar seating at the back. There is a beer garden, but I would be saving that for summer. Clearly a popular place with all tables full and waiting times if you didn't reserve a table. It's all about the craft beers, but the cocktail list was pretty inventive (and good) too. Food is more gourmet sandwiches and pub style snacks. The cheese and charcuterie platters were spot on, with good options provided. The only negative actually came after we left and I noticed the server automatically included 20% gratuity onto our table of 4 people, and then refrained from mentioning that fact to us, so of course we added more tip on top. That is very poor form and for that alone we probably won't be rushing back.

Great craft beer

By Stephen S |

Fun neighborhood bar with large selection of craft beer. The bar tender was a mixology expert with a flare for flaming drinks.

Helluvah bar!

By Tim A |

It's funny when you're caught in a storm, wander into any bar to dry up, warm up and have a beer (of which there are plenty in this cosy cellar-type craft beer gaff, and you know you hit the spot as you see the locals dripping in one by one until the place is jampacked. :-) The staff are friendly and up for a bit of banter, while they're also very knowledgable about the products they're selling. Lovely beer all-round, make sure you try the Moss Imperial IPA - it's gorgeous. Fun times!

Good atmosphere, great beers, fun people.

By RJRJK |

We stumbled upon the Jeffrey by coincidence, feeling hungry and thirsty after a day of exploring. It was great! The bar staff gave good advice on choosing from their extensive beer selection and we could easily find some nice eats from the rather shorter menu. Meanwhile we found the locals a very sociable lot, happy to talk and laugh. Definite recommendation from us!

Great visit

By Murad O |

The beers are great, I liked them a lot. The atmosphere is also good, I would suggest this bar for anyone visiting the upper east side.

After work drinks and bites with colleagues

By TiffanyN |

On a rainy day in New York City, our party of 10 went to Jeffrey's for a colleague's farewell. I have to say, I didn't know what to expect here. The drink menu was very extensive and while they were sold out of my first choice of bourbon (Four Roses) they did have Buffalo Trace which was fine. Some people raved about The Bee Sting cocktail. For snacks we ordered, the truffle popcorn, potato chips with Old Bay, the pretzel and oysters. Solid apps that were perfect for our crowd. As an entree, I had the pretzel and it was solid. Tasty, meaty, nice cheese melted on top, served with tortilla chips. One person loved the burger so much he ordered a second after finishing his first. Someone had the beyond burger and raved about it. Tacos seemed to be a popular choice as well. Honestly, everything tasted better because we had Kieran as our waiter, he was friendly, knowledgeable and offered great suggestions. If you have to go somewhere with a group of people, I highly recommend. Ask for Kieran, you won't be disappointed.

Neighborhood place

By DE_Auditor |

Jeffrey’s was our first place to eat while staying on the Upper East Side for business. You feel like you’re walking into your favorite neighborhood bar. Good vibe, comfortable and reasonable prices. Bar top is hammered copper for a rustic feel. The variety of beers were amazing. I can’t recall the beer but it was a delicious stout. The dates stuffed with blue cheese and Applewood bacon were fantastic. I ordered a grilled Reuben sandwich that was out of this world. One would think a Reuben is a Reuben and they all taste the same...not here. Not sure what was different but it was good. If I wasn’t looking for it, I may have walked right by it after dark. Stop by Jeffrey’s if you’re in the area.

Great beer selection

By Ray55 |

What a find. Great atmosphere and decor. Nice long bar with a friendly helpful staff. Great rotation of craft beers. Every time I go, there's something new to try. The pretzels were pretty good too.

Really enjoyed my visit here!

By Skeets37 |

Went here on Sunday afternoon for lunch. Very comfortable neighborhood bar type feel. They have a good amount of craft beer selections. It was Happy Hour and they had some good lunch specials that included a beer in the cost. I strayed from the specials tho and got got a buffalo shrimp taco which was very tasty. Bartender was very helpful in selecting a beer and was pleasant to talk to. I will most definitely return when back in town.

Awesome place!

By Christofer C |

No complaints here, except the tunes. About 20 taps (mostly IPA). Amazing food. We had the pho tacos and a couple apps. All were exceptional. Get some better music and take the tvs down. Lovely bartender too!

Good craft beer selection

By jewelsfin |

My husband enjoyed the craft beer selection. He ordered an oatmeal stout and I ordered a light beer (can't remember the name). We also ordered the garlic pretzel and pickled veggies. Everything was good. The bartender was extremely friendly and made our visit enjoyable.

Great beer, wonderful food... Just right attitude

By rvanhilst |

Discovered this place while visiting NYC with the family when my wife and I needed a good beer and kids needed lunch. At first we wondeed if we were in the right place because when you come in all you see is the bar (had our kids with us and they aren't quite ready to pony up to the bar). Bartender showed us to the back where there were tables for us normal people. I started drooling strolling to the back while gazing upon the selection of beer taps and knew I was going to be in heaven. Was equally inspired by the funky, industrial themed decor and knew it was going to be a good meal. Server was very knowledgable of the beer menu and the descriptions were spot on (with an added bonus of being good reading). Great selection of non-standard beers that you won't find in most craft beer joints and I thoroughly enjoyed every beer I had. Food was great and especially loved the BELT sandwich (Bacon, Egg salad, Lettuce and Tomato). Would love to go back and enjoy the beer garden... or just more of the amazing beer list.

Loved it!

By MartinaAzzurra |

The best place I have been in NY. We were staying in a hotel in this area and we got here just to have a beer and a quick bite. We stayed for a couple of beers and a meal :)! The place is really nice, it is really an hidden gem in the neighborhood. The staff is amazing: they make you feel very welcomed and they give you great advices. I was a little bit lost with all the beer selection they had and they recommend one that was just for me. I have been in NY 4 days and I went here twice! The food is amazing! I surely recommend it!

Bourbon and whiskey paradise

By johnbatt09 |

More than two-dozen craft beers, and an excellent selection of bourbons and whiskeys. There are two bars here -- one specializing in cocktails and another, larger, bar focused more on beer and routine drinks. Both attract a friendly crowd, aided by super bartenders. The food, BTW, is far better than standard pub grub. It's become my neighborhood favorite.

Very nice craft beer bar

By Tom B |

We've spend one evening in The Jeffrey. Food and drinks are amazing. Prices are not too bad. Nice selection of new york craft beer!

Great brunch

By Harold S |

This is a go-to for our kids as a neighborhood place. We had brunch there and the food was delicious. They have a very large selection of beer that changes twice a day.

Great selection of tasty beers

By NZ_Foodies |

I had heard about The Jeffrey before visiting NYC so made it a priority to visit. It's a cool spot off the beaten track as in non touristy area. Has an amazing selection of beers and the food is pretty dam good too - we had lunch.

Stopped for a beer

By dnoahg |

They have beers that you’re not likely to find in too many places. Definitely worth a stop. They had available a beer that is only sold in Vermont, from a brewer who’s well known for his craft brews. A welcome surprise.

Fantastic beers

By matteo_naccari |

I visited this place while on vacation in NYC. I really liked the atmosphere and the beer selection. The staff was very friendly and helpful in advising on which beer to try. I also order a pastrami sandwich (Jeffrey Reubenstein) which was tasty. This place is a really nice brewery to hang and have a proper beer.

A perfect stop for the hungry and thirsty.

My first adventure into a New York drinking establishment whilst on a shopping trip to Bloomingdales not far away. Situated next to the Roosevelt Island Tramway that joins Roosevelt Island to the East Side of Manhattan, this unassuming beer oasis follows what I later learned is a tried and tested formula for ‘real ale’ bars in New York. As you enter there’s a long bar to the right that you’ll walk past to get to the seating area. Locals (anyone remember Cliff and Norm from Cheers?) sit along the bar for the entire duration, putting the world to rights. There’s plenty of beer paraphernalia and logos adorning the walls and the obligatory beer ‘menu’ that it seems is printed daily! Beers are available by the glass or in ‘flights’ which is a small wooden tray that holds four 4oz glasses and best for sampling what’s on offer. Ask for a ‘pint’ and you’ll get a pint, so no language barrier there, but one new word I learned is ‘kicked’ which back in Blighty means the beer is ‘off/finished’. Beer arrives quickly ahead of typical New York fare such as hot dogs, burgers, oysters or a New York staple of Cobb Salad which is chopped salad greens (iceberg lettuce, watercress, endives and romaine lettuce), tomato, hard-boiled eggs, avocado, chives, Roquefort cheese, and red-wine vinaigrette as well as (optional grilled bacon or chicken). I started with Other Half - Forever Ever (4.7%), Pipeworks - Mango Guppy (5%) and Dogfish - Lupu Luau (7.3%) all of which I must say were superb and not at all weird as their names would suggest. This was followed by Grey Sail - Hazy Days (4%), Lagunitas - Dark Swan (8.7%) and To Ol - Mr Brown (9%), again a great selection including the purple Dark Swan! I was guided to see degree by the barman who seemed to have personally tried all the beers on offer!! Also, tasting notes are shown on the beer menu (which changes daily). The beer was great, the food top notch and the atmosphere (even on a weekday lunchtime) was friendly and comfortable.

Great selection

By stevekaz72 |

Incredible selection of hard to find micros. It is a little pricey for some hard to find, higher abv, but we'll worth it. Seating is a little cramped but the bar staff is very good and can get you a drink while you wait for a seat. If you like craft brews you have to give it a try.

Must see beer bar in NYC

By MikeMNh |

Can't go wrong here... "Nobody's scared of a jeffrey "... Beer selection is awesome! Staff is fantastic!

Great Craft Beer in NYC

By Angela B |

This was our second visit to the Jeffrey. The space is cozy with a lovely little patio outside. The service is super friendly and knowledgeable. Traveling from Portland Maine, we were happy to see some of our hometown beers represented on the beer list. The bartenders were not only pouring beer, you could tell they were experts on the beer styles and offerings. We will continue to hit up this hip spot whenever we are in the city!

Delicious beer and good atmosphere

By M B |

I love this place. They have a great selection of beers. It is a combination of indoor and outdoor seating. Great atmosphere. I also find the staff very friendly. I highly recommend this place.

The place for great beer

By Jason C |

What else needs to be said other than they print their beer menu at least once a day. When we went they had about 30 beers on tap. The staff were extremely knowledgeable and made great recommendations. We had the chips and guacamole and a smoked salmon club sandwich, both of which were incredible. Highly recommend you stop in for a beer or bite.

Extensive beer list

By Machiel S |

This is how I like my pubs. Atmospheric, great choice of beers and friendly staff. It's not a large place but cosy. Far from the tourists packed around the famous attractions. Very nice. Did not taste the food.

Great beers and food

By Michael N |

Celebrated a birthday there. We started out in the patio with a nice selection of beers, ordered some soup and sandwiches. I had the roast beef, it was dynamite. Lots of beers to choose from, we were all very happy with our choices. The patio closes at 9 (unfortunately due to sensitive neighbors, but this night was cooling off so it worked out) and we moved inside to a table that was waiting for us. Good ambience, and music. We had a better waitress inside too. And they had several tvs showing sports.

A must visit in NY

By John G |

Been there a few times. Staff are really friendly and the beer is excellent. The food is to die for and the variety of music is excellent. Will Definitely be going back!! Also try out the cocktails, best in the city

What a selection of beers!

By GraybeardOttawa |

Had this UES spot on the radar for latest NYC trip. Will definitely have to return and try some of the other craft beers! There's only so much one could put away and expect to exit the premises vertically. The patio looked like a great place to hang but the threat of showers kept us indoor. The staff knew their product and was able to make some suggestions based on our likes. We ordered the charcuterie platter and thoroughly enjoyed every morsel.... Other patrons even commented on the platter saying it looked delicious.

Awesome experience

By Madeline M. |

The beer selection is out of this world. There's multiple choices for whatever your craft beer tastes are. The pretzel was delicious as was the O.G. burger. Bartender was super friendly, treated me like a regular and made me feel very comfortable as I was traveling alone. Recommended for all craft beer lovers!

Great selection of beers

By Magnus_sk |

We visited this place twice while in New York. They have a really good selection of draught beers + a selection of cans and bottles. The food is pretty good as well, and they have a beer garden out back. Service was also good, and I would love to come back any time.

Great little bar, fantastic food and big beer selection

By ElementTent |

Wife found this place for supper and I was so happy she did. Huge beer selection that satisfied both of us and gave us lots to try. Food was so good. Pretzels were some of the best we have had and I loved the dips. Popcorn is a must as you get quite a bit and the seasonings are awesome. Parmesan had real cheese shredded on top of it. So yummy. Great place to go as the place has two sides and the back, with bars on both sides. Highly recommend a stop here

Great neighborhood find

By Elizabeth S |

This is a great neighborhood bar. Nice large list of microbrews, and the bartenders are able to make excellent recommendations. The snacks are great, perfect for a happy hour drink. The food is very good, probably better for a casual lunch meeting or quick dinner. There is a patio in the back that is open during the day. The ambiance is cozy and relaxed.

Trendy Pub

By bill p |

My wife and I stopped to have a beer and a bite one afternoon in June. The joint is kind of funky with furniture and fixtures looking like they were made from whatever was lying around. Inside there is a bar and bar tables. In back, there are outdoor tables and benches. The place was almost empty when we arrived. Around 3:00 PM, it started filling up with teachers and other young professionals. Very cool vibe. Big selection of beers. The waitress suggested a Ninkasi Lux from Oregon, a Helles Lager with a low IBU - that's International Bittering Units. Tasty.

Great beer and food

By Jonathan H |

We stopped in here as we were in the area (the trade off for my wife going to Bloomingdales!) it was all planned! We sat outside on a lovely sunny New York day and took advantage of the happy hour (11-7!) offer of food and a beer for 10 or 12 bucks. Great food and although my wife stuck to wine as it was a hot day - what is cool craft beer for if not for drinking on a hot day?! Anyway I had 3 or 4 excellent ales and we spent a very pleasant afternoon, and my wife thought her chilli one of the best she's ever had. Great place, friendly staff and a lovely way to while away a few hours.

Somewhat disappointed

By The Pidge |

The reviews made this place sound exceptional- definitely like our kind of place. It wasn't bad but the experience was nothing that would make us return. We started with the pretzels which were mediocre (if you like them hard and somewhat burned-tasting, they're for you but if not...). Fortunately our actual meals were a lot better but still not much better than what's offered at other places of this type. The beer selection was a huge plus, especially the humorously-written menu that explained everything that was on tap. What bothered us more than anything was the oppressive heat inside the narrow building- we were seated in a cramped corner in the front where the windows were open but not providing much in the way of relief- this on a day that wasn't all that hot to begin with. The air conditioned section in the back- like the rest of the place- was packed with enough people to make it feel claustrophobic and overwhelm the wait staff that seemed to get around to people when able (which wasn't very often). Add in typical Manhattan prices and there you have an underwhelming venue. Not a terrible choice but we can't think of a reason to go back.

Craft beer heaven

By SandJA_11 |

Worth the walk to find this place, with its extensive menu of craft beers. Head in through the smaller front bar to the larger space behind this, and you’re in a convivial, friendly bar. We couldn’t do credit to all the choice on offer in the time we had but would certainly return. Local, regional and US-wide beers with clear descriptions and information about flavours and strength. Nothing not to like!

Nice place under the bridge

By jupiler666 |

We had some nice new beers that we could try, they have many! Also many cocktails to choose from...food was also great! Happy hour available to! Nice service as well..would go back :)

Quick stop for craft beer

By jcharisman |

Pacing the wife while she did the Avon walk I took a break here to have dinner and a beer. Two great beers and a burger later I came away very satisfied. Waitstaff was very friendly and accommodating.

Fun stop many beers on tap!

We had a few special beers at this place. We chose from a freshly printed menu the 4:20 pm edition for July 14 it listed 29 beers on tap and our waitress let us try a few to help us make a choice. I have to say we LOVED the deviled eggs starters. They were like nothing I’ve tasted. They were marinated in pickled beet juice to start with but filled with an awesome filling with dill and sriracha flavors ..so good. Unfortunately the Reubens were really just okay nothing special. Fun place great atmosphere cool eats.

Great craft brew place with decent food

The beer selection here is great, and actually met a beer distributor at the bar. The taps rotate so frequently at this place! The food is just ok, while it's kind of gastro-pub like, they just really love to pickle and vinegar their eats. I like this bar though, it's always packed.

late cocktails with some locals and the wonderful TY

By 432patrickh |

On our second night in Manhattan's U.E.S. after our evening meal we found this great bar near to where we were staying, and we stayed till we were thrown out by the wonderful and charismatic Barman that is Ty ( not sure if this is spelt right). We had great banter with local New Yorker's and Ty, and the music played was magic, all the great soul and blues music of my life's memory. The cocktails were fabulous and the atmosphere the best. Ty was a great host and the Craic. was mighty. We managed to come back a second night and again the interaction with Ty and his local customer's was so good, again we stayed till Ty put us out good naturedly at 2:00 Ish AM. My wife and myself Loved Ty sense of humour and he reminded me of Phil Lynott of Thin Lizzy being a black young man but full of Irish saying's and phrase's which apparently come from his Irish boss. Much as we loved this bar the late night's got too much for us as the day's in Manhattan wore on, but our memories of The Jeffrey and Ty will stay with us for many a long time. I would recommend The Jeffrey cocktail bar to all for fun and interaction with real New York people. Many Thanks Ty.

You had me at maple bacon popcorn!

Which was absolutely delicious ($7)! With my 3 Sloop Juice bomb IPA beers ($8/ea.). Always have a good time at this place. Nice backyard beer garden area. Friendly bartenders. Right next to the queensboro aka ed Koch aka 59th Street bridge.

Decent sandwiches and good selection of beers

By Mystiqz |

Came here with a group of 3 for late lunch and there was no issue with getting seated. It was a little strange that we walked in and had to seat ourselves. Nobody ever came to greet us until we sat down. Despite that, the service was good. The waitress was friendly and attentive. We ordered the roast beef, veggie, and BLT sandwiches with regular fries and truffle fries. Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to try the veggie sandwich but was told that it was good. The roast beef sandwich wasn't bad. It lacked some flavor but it was tender and not chewy at all. I thought the sandwich was a little dry as opposed to the BLT sandwich. It was flavorful. I like the dressing in it. It made it less dry and the bacon were in perfect sizes. The bread was toasted and the bread used was excellent. The salt from the bacon was a perfect balance to the sandwich. The truffle fries/chips weren't bad. First time having it but it was only a hint of truffle and the chips/fries were too oily. Extremely fried. In summary, I would actually give this place 3.5 stars. Food wasn't bad at all but could offer some improvements in taste in the roast beef sandwich and a tad better in the service. I wouldn't mind coming back here again just to hang out. They also have a great beer selection.

Craft Beer Neighborhood Gem

I was staying near the QB bridge and "needed" to find a spot for a few drinks before an event later that evening. I searched and found this spot. The Jeffrey is somewhat dive-ish...in a good way. Craft beer selection is good with emphasis on local brews, but with global offerings as well. We snacked on truffled popcorn and soft pretzels with cheddar-ale dip which are worth a try. The bartender was knowledgeable and even friendly, unlike some craft beer havens whose staff can seem self-righteous about their product line. If you are looking for a good, casual, not-too-expensive stop for a drink or more, this is your spot, right where the QB bridge funnels into the east side. Recommendation granted. Thanks for reading !

Over priced!

The foods was okay but I think it is little over priced$14.00 for a tiny burger! and chips Small size like McDonald mini.. :):) we ordered the salad that was delicious but then over priced. We don't drink at all so we went there because saw a good review. but I think we won't go back there. We had two burger and salad cost us $55.00 without drink. The worst was they've charged me twice.. I came home and looked up my statements! Saw they've charged me twice! which It was my first time in my life. Please make sure you'e aware that this is bar and restaurant so anything could happens. I called them they told me to email but it was so noisy .. I was disappointed. If you love drinking then there you go but people like us who loves to eat and enjoy the atom sphere.. Oh no.. I won't go back there. Don't get me wrong that the salad was great! dressing was great and atmosphere was excellent but sorry I won't go back there.

Great place for seafood

A nice small restaurant with great wines and locally brewed beer. The menu included a variety of oysters, salads and other items. Service was good. The dishes were well prepared and the spices and sauces were original.

Great selection of beers and food

By A R |

Very nice place near Queensboro bridge. Place inside the bar and on a small beer garden. Great selection of beers, of all kinds and from US as well as from Europe, draft and bottled, with a very understandable description. Food is exquisite: The Jeffrey Reubenstein is excellent.

Craft beer lover's neighborhood gem...

By MikeMNh |

If you're a craft beer lover, this is a must see/visit on the Upper East Side. While your wife shops at Bloomingdale's, stop over to the Jeffrey for one (or two) of their 30 rotating beers on tap. Or, go with your wife for lunch, and then send her off to Bloomingdale's, while you stick around and sample a few more beers. They have a unique menu, and an unreal lunch special -- a beer and a salad or sandwich for $10. Select Happy hour beers are $5, and oysters are $1/each. They have wine and a full bar too, as well as offering growlers if you'd like to take some beer home with you. They have a comfortable indoor space with plenty of TV's, as well as an outdoor space with picnic tables and umbrellas.

If you like craft beer - go here!

We love craft beer, big tap selection bars. This place had it. I must say it's off the beaten path, but we were ok with it. Fun beer menu, that was constantly changing. Plenty of types to choose from, depending on your preference. If it's busy, they won't do flights, so you'll have to pick and choose or share in those cases. We bellied up to the bar and drank, can't comment on the "bites".

Great little find!

Really friendly and helpful bar staff, seems like a locals haunt as well which is always a good recommendation. Massive selection of cocktails and spirits as well as craft beers and ales.

Can't Beat Craft Beer And Espresso

By Tara B |

We stayed at the Bentley Hotel and saw The Jeffrey on yelp and decided to check it out for lunch when we were hungry after checking in. What a great find! All the craft beer you could dream of.. happy hour all day long, great prices. My burger was amazing. The truffle chips, out of this world! The next morning we went to the cafe and enjoyed a great cappuccino.. with espresso made the right way. Can't wait to come back here!

All over the world, decor in bars is going the same way. Old fashioned stripped back brickwork, Edison lights, candelabras and rough hewn wooden work tops.... This place could well have been the first one. The rest of the world calls it New York Loft, but since the Jeffrey is in NYC, then I suspect they just call it Loft. I popped in here for a bit of lunch before taking a ride over the Hudson on the Roosevelt Cable Care. I didn't really know what to expect...I'd heard good things, but this place is a craft beer specialist and I don't really like beer.... I ended up having a turkey sandwich with fries and for it's part the food was very nice. The service was extremely good and the Jeffrey has a proper good atmosphere. The only slight let down is the price. My sandwich whilst nice, was expensive, even by NYC prices. If you are into different beers then go here, it's a lovely little place, but remember the prices are a little top heavy.

Great craft beer and cocktails

We visited The Jeffrey with friends during our visit to New York. There is a large selection of craft beers and I was also happy to see some wine, fizz and cocktails on the menu too! The cocktails are lush. And nice and strong too which made me happy and tipsy. It's got a great vibe and nice outside area too. Staff were really friendly and helpful, making recommendations on the different beers and allowing you to try before you buy. We wouldn't hesitate to come back next time we are in New York :)
