Great taste and quick service

By Charlie C |

During our visit it was packed with people. We had to wait 15 minutes and during the waiting we ordered the food. The food came with a lot of side dishes and was served quickly. The visitors were mainly Koreans with is a good sign.

Good Korean food

By rhernandezcomad |

The place is neat and service is quite fast. Food is good and clean and has good taste. It is not cheap but I think it is an excellent option in K- town

Very ordinary food, poor service and demands for larger tip!

By Louise B |

Having never eaten Korean before, we thought we'd give it a go in the heart of Korea town. I left the ordering to others who knew their stuff and we ended up with a Korean BBQ comprising of chicken pieces, two kinds of 'beef' and spicy pork. This was served with sides of Korean salads and pickles. Basically the meat was brought to the table and you cook it yourself. Quality of cuts very average and so was the taste. Staff were brusque and disinterested. At the end of the meal which cost a staggering $163.00USD for 3 people, I felt a 10% tip was super generous. Not so apparently as the waiter was quickly back with my credit card complaining I hadn't tipped enough. Enough for what? Food you cook yourself? Wine which already has a 300% mark up on it? Poor quality cuts? Mass produced sides?? My instinct was to make a formal stand, but my fellow diners were bullied into handing over more cash. Here's a tip - Why don't Americans pay their staff properly and allow guests to pay individuals for excellence instead of sloppy seconds. I won't be back.

Love the Banchan (Side Dishes)

By PandaHouston |

Have eaten here multiple times. There is always a wait but never very long. You stand in a line on the stairs and your order is taken while in line. By the time you seat down, your food will shortly arrive. The side dishes will vary some but the best one I love is the steamed egg. All the other ones are also very good - Kim chi, radishes, soybeans, squid, different vegetables, red bean rice. The spicy tofu soup is really good. So is the cold noodles. Food is good value too. The tofu soup is about $11 and the cold noodles are about $12. By the time your actual order arrives, you are probably half full on the side dishes. This is one of my favorite Korean restaurants in Koreatown.

Amazing Pork Belly (삼겹살)! Great Korean Food in NYC!

By padraig74 |

This place is pricey. One serving of pork belly broke the bank, but I loved it. LOVED IT. I'm not sure if I've ever eaten pork that was so tender and juicy. I loved it. It really looks like just a normal restaurant, but the prices must be due to the quality of the meat. My wife had kimchi stew and she was very happy, but nothing could take my mind off the pork. It was delicious. I'm curious to know if anyone else has the same experience. I would recommend it, but again: it is very pricey. Not sure if many will find it worth the money, but I can't stop thinking about it, so I think we would definitely stop back in. Service was great and they treated us well. I highly recommend.

lack of respect

By Tati B |

I met the restaurant 5 years ago. The ambiance was different, the service very good. The first day I arrived I went to the restaurant where I was so well attended years ago. When I arrived, the ambience was different (renovated) and unfortunately the service too. I was lost in the middle of the hall, trying to talk to someone and no one looked and talked to me. I tried to ask, I was ignored and the only time I could talk to someone, he told me: get in line, get in line. A pity that success left people rude. The same ones who were kind to me, today were extremely rude. Unable to sit down, I left. I do not recommend. They earn money to treat you badly. Sad.

Good Korean food

By 644AndreaC |

Good Korean food. The queue was quite long , went on a Friday night. Very busy place. Wait was like 15 mins. but was worth it. Service was quick and food was good and portions were huge. Glad we stopped by . When we saw the queue was long , oh yeah for sure this place is good so we tried it and it was spot on!

Warm and delicious in the cold

By JABMAB |

I have lived in Korea, and traveled back there and this place was the real deal! The food was delicious and the mom and pop feel was warm and inviting. The service was prompt, they got us our food piping hot and quick! Would highly recommend them!

Good Food, Good Service.

By lcfb |

This place was packed on a weekday. The customers were mainly asians and we had to wait 10mn for a table. We ordered barbecue beef and different other dishes. Everything was good and service was greatly efficient. I believe it is opened 24/7. $124 for 3 people including service and tax.

Great location, Traditional Korean food, Service needs improvement

By Wine Dine n Vacay |

Great location. In K-town. Close to countless shops, bakeries, shopping, bbq and more. City view from 2nd floor which is perfect for people watching, kinda relaxing. Standard Korean restaurant decoration, and they kept everything fairly clean. They serve traditional Korean food here, not the fusion kind. Galbi was delicious & cooked just right. So was the spicy kimchi pork and tofu. Tofu soup was good. Fresh made rice, yum. I was a bit disappointed with the steamed mando (dumplings). The dumplings filling was bland and were over steamed falling apart, couldn’t even pick up without any dumplings falls apart. Ordered hot sake, and they forgot about it until my husband had to remind the 3 ladies that work upstairs , while they were just gathered by the computer for a long time and no one was checking on any of the customers. Service was ok, definitely can use some improvement. Value was good, dishes are reasonably priced. Do recommend to check this place out, just be careful what you order.

Excellent Korean Stews

By TheMeadowsTravel |

Kunjip is a traditional Korean restaurant in Koreatown serving totally authentic, old-style Korean cuisine. The kimchichigae, served in a boiling cauldron was absolutely delicious and super spicy. The fried dumplings (gunmandu) were also yummy and the blizzard of side dishes waaaaay more numerous than are typically served in other Korean places. Dinner at 11PM? No problem - the kitchen was still open. Even in a city with hundreds of Korean restaurants, I'll be back to Kunjip!

PROS AND CONS of THE KUNJIB

By mark g |

PROS: 1) Soups are AMAZING 2) Service is rocket fast 3) Food is great and ROCKET FAST CONS: 1) DO NOT GET THE BULGOGI - see picture - it's full of noodles and NO MEAT - for $29.99 we deserve better and this is the sole reason for the 2 stars. 2) VERY TIGHT EATING Space, but it's ok if you don't mind it

Delicious Korean Cuisine

By L0vemycity |

Besides a delicious main dish, 6 or 7 side dishes are brought to your table. It is a very popular place, well deserved reputation. I always visit there when in NYC.

Value for $

By rck |

If you feel like Korean BBQ and other regular fare, this is a good choice Be prepared to wait for a table as it's good value for money Recommend the short rib cut for BBQ, tasty and substantial, also grilled mackerel, seafood pancake, cold noodles Complementary kimchi starters are better than most

Mediocre food...

By Hashirama39 |

Surprisingly huge portions of food... the traditional stone bowl rice was twice the size of what you would find in London. Some of the complimentary plates were tasty. But that was where the positives ended... The seafood pancake was extra thick and doughy tasting, lacking the crispy texture.

Love this place, we visit every time we're in NYC

By EllieW19 |

I love this place. If you like Korean food (or just trying something new) then definitely give it a go. Order the BBQ meat so you get to try out the flame BBQ on the tables - it's a really fun experience. The Bibimbap is also delicious! The staff are busy and efficient so you can feel a bit rushed - but it doesn't make the experience any less enjoyable! You can't book a table, so you'll probably have to queue a little during peak times - but the queue goes pretty fast.

Average, very average.....

By MooChaCha |

Location: The restaurant is located in the middle of K-Town, very close to Penn Station and easy to find. Staff: The staff are very “direct” and the restaurant is busy. I sat down at 9:15pm and it was a full house. Don’t expect top class service but you still need to pay top dollar tips! Food: I found the food very average (at best). The little dishes was poorly prepared and mass produced. I ordered Spicy Ribs Soup as main and it was not very yummy. The only good thing is that the portion was good and enough to fill you up! Summary: I don’t think I will visit again. There must be better choices in K-Town.

Tasty and efficient

By Holly O |

Looking for a place to eat after a delayed flight. We had the barbecued pork belly with onions wrapped in lettuce leaves. It was excellent The pit stickers tasted home made and we're awesome. The brought. 7 types of kimchee. The staff was on point and efficient

Busy and fun

By emi5444 |

We went as a family of four. Although there was a line the owner seemed to pick us out and found us a table immediately. We were surprised that there was a language barrier with the staff -they don't speak much English- but they worked hard to try and explain everything to us. Although we still weren't entirely sure what we had ordered we were having fun. Lots of dishes arrived and we really liked most of them, especially the barbecued meats. Service was great. My son caught his finger on a hot bowl and they were really kind making sure he was ok.Prices were reasonable. Definitely recommend.

'Granma's' korean cooking in the middle of GOTHAM CITY

By loveoffun |

in the midst of hustle and bustle of busy street full of choices of Korean cuisine , which one to choose to be a bit different is the key when revisiting 'koreatown' in nyc.? The Kunjip , hidden lunch menu of numbers..lol..the L18. Namhi Gopchang Jjigae * spicy beef intestine stew , stood out!! accompanied by L17. Ttukbaegi Bulgogi marinated sliced beef, rice cake and noodles in stone pot and a shared as appetizer G10. Haemul Pajeon seafood scallion pancake. small and cozy table for 4 could not handle these 3 meals for two with all the typical fixing starters! the intestine soup , may sound not appetizing to many to begin with but then add a bit of ox blood to really make it jump at you out of a fictional Korean menu. my friend ' L ' and i had a feast and then some leftovers for later. of course the kunjip has many other great dishes. the second floor is available for private parties in case you planning a party! enjoy.

Excellent food ,easy to find but rude staff

By aditya_ravikumar |

The restaurant is located in the heart of Koreatown, easy to find and a 10 min walk from NY Penn station. (+) - Excellent food, restaurant seems always occupied especially on Fri-Sun Reasonably quick service Value for money. Korean BBQ is expensive , but would recommend to try only if in a group >3 (-) Staff is extremely rude and does not take any initiative to explain the dishes to someone who is trying Korean food for the first time. I had to have an uncomfortable tough conversation with the staff to ask them to explain them to me. They seem in a hurry to just take the order and go ( similar to a fast food chain) . My view. I would not recommend this to someone wanting to try Korean for the first time. thanks

Good GOTO for LATE NIGHTS & OPEN 24/7

By Edwin R |

We had to work late and by the time we got to Korean Town, it was almost close to midnight. Kunjip was one of the few places open 24/7. Their BBQ short-ribs was actually good (they bbq for you at your table). They give you side Korean dishes family style (everyone shares). They have good selections of beers, and pricing is par with all other Korean BBQ in the area. Service was quick and efficient, and we ate and out in a jiffy!! The nice waitress was able to split all our bill since we were there on business which was fantastic!! Until then, Cheers! ~ :p

Avoid this place! Do not go here!

By Beautiful Cats |

Never ever going back to this place! My friends and I visited this place today. We should have checked the reviews before going here. They give you very little portions of side dishes. Fine but you should not do that to main entrees as well! I ordered the seafood soup and the pork, oyster, and kimchi entree to share. We were sorely disappointed. There was only a sparse amount of oyster and pork and a whole lot of kimchi! For the price, you would expect good portions but this is not the place. The seafood soup also had very little seafood inside and the rest was broth. What kind of restaurant does this? Next, I want to mention the SERVICE. Not all the tables were filled but our old male waiter (short man) upstairs was so rude to us. When we asked for more water and side dishes, he sighed and just went away. He did not come back so we had to call him again. He glared at us and then when he brought back more side dishes and water, he just sort of slammed down the dishes in front of us so that it makes a loud noise! Never have we experience poor service like this before. That waiter needs to be retrained or quit. We are also suspicious of the owner. What kind of owner allows that sort of behavior? Judging from the reviews, she does not seem to care or do anything about the poor service. Maybe she pays them very little, which is why most of the staff there seemed disgruntled and annoyed. We will not be back.

Only if you can afford to wait a LONG time

By Charles R |

I know pretty much every Korean restaurant in Manhattan and friends raved about this place. I was well informed that there is always a long wait for a table and they do not take reservations. Cynical prediction: the popularity will fade after people grow tired of waiting an eternity to be served what is very good but hardly exceptional food. To be fair, there are a few truly home cooked dishes you rarely find on a traditional menu. So the food is good. The buzz about the place seems exciting. But I feel it is ultimately unjustified.

A rip off, much worse than it used to be

By jim l |

Sadly deteriorated compared to our experiences over the last ten years: appetizer dishes that accompany entrees fewer and not as good, the simple egg custard that used to come with entrees gone, the bibimbop flavorless, made with luke warm rice that meant that the rice noodles never got a crust. The other bibimbop ingredients were cold as well. Don't come here.

Nice Korean Restaurant Experience

By ParisTravels2014 |

Food was authentic and tasty. Kimchi plates were delicious. When you walk in, you will queue on the steps and will be given menus to decide on your food before you get seated. Service was sub-par but the food was good. Seafood pancake was yummy although greasy. Bibimbap was tasty was not hot enough like a hot pot should be.

Average Korean bbq and average service

By mmtwins5763 |

We want to try this type of bbq so we came to Korean town. After getting a great table by the window, we ordered the bbq beef combo for two which is $66 with a selection of sirloin, rib eye and some pork. This comes with a seafood tofu soup and the usual small dishes of Korean appetizers. There is also two bowls of rice. The eight appetizers are great with kimchi, salted fish, bean sprouts, etc I do not like the rice which looks purple under the light but it does not taste good. The server cooked the beef in the hot plate at the table and cut them up with scissors so that we can eat with only disposable chopsticks. The beef is ver well marinated but it is a bit chewy so for the quality of the meat, I rate this average. The server was very efficient but seemed to try and rush us. There is a line up if you do not come early.

A must-try in K-Town!

By WindsorTudor |

The real deal in terms of superb Korean barbecue - delicious! Gracious service as well - Mrs. Park, the owner, even greeted us personally. Overall, a great value for the price (even more side dishes than usual). A word to the wise for lunch, however: Get. There. Early! We went on a Sunday @ about 11:30am; within the hour, the line was spilling out into the street.

Eat like a local

By ZenDark30 |

The Zagat stickers in the window suggested goodness awaits. This suggestion was further reinforced by the number of Door Dash type delivery bags being filled. We arrived at 11am, just in time for the lunch specials. Soon afterwards the place quickly filled up as there are only a handful of tables all separated with a plexiglass screen. We noticed most of the patrons speaking Korean to the servers and seemed to be regulars. We ordered the vegetarian bimbop, mackerel, and dumplings. Our meal was accompanied with the traditional side dishes, tofu soup and rice. We finished with a sweet tea. The greens in the vegetarian bimbop felt gritty as if they weren’t thoroughly washed. The mackerel was tasty yet small especially if you had a big appetite. The broth in the soup was excellent. If you want a Korean New York experience give this a go.

Excellent Food

By Stanley C |

I will say that Kunjip is not cheap at all, but my friend and I love this place. I have not been here in ages, but it was so nice of her to take me on a trip to memory lane. The bbq was exquisite and the dumplings were good. Honestly, the best part of the meal was the meat. I am a flexitarian, so I did not have a lot of the meat actually, but from whatever amount I had, I enjoyed and savored very bit if it. I would recommend this place for the food.

Excellent Korean Food close to Empire State Building.

By Daniela N |

One of the best Korean food that I have had in USA. Good balance of steak, squid, fresh steam/shredded veggies, and rice/udon. Service was quick, food was hot, and the price was reasonable for high quality food. The place was crowded on Tuesday night, but we did not have to wait for seats. Location was very close to Empire State Building, less than 5' walking distance.

Don't recommend it

By Sanka1 🇱🇰🇬🇧 |

Overpriced, overhyped and tasteless are 3 words I'll use to describe this restaurant. Visited today for dinner and the first thing you notice is that the staff are good. And then the food comes out and it's completely out of tune: tasteless, oily and completely below expectations. Can't believe I paid $70 for the 3 dishes we ordered when we could have gotten better food for half the price in the same neighbourhood.

Rushed --but tasty --Korean in K town NYC

By karissimah |

Food is pretty good and you get a lot of it. You will feel rushed out of there in 20 minutes so this ain't a great spot for a leisurely meal. If, however, you are in a hurry and want a hot, fast meal, this is the place for you. They give you a ton of food and it all comes out in 5 minutes all at once. Like most Korean restaurants, every table gets those 5-6 free side salads for appetizer. This makes is a challenge to move out of there as quickly as they might want you to. My favorite was the amazing acorn squash that melts in your mouth! and delicious steaming hot tofu stew (FYI this stew is not vegetarian! Shellfish alert! Delicious!) The Golgoki bibimbap was a bit bland but filling. I should have asked from some sauce. We were there on the early side but by the time we left (7) it was jam packed with lines looping up the stairs and out the door. you might order standing up and there won't be a lot of opportunity to discuss anything with your server. But if you don't need to feel warm and fuzzy at your dinner table, then you'll be golden. Also recommend is going to dinner at the early bird hour of 530pm. Cash is preferred.

Never again

By Go2Wander |

My friend and I had our dinner at this restaurant . The worst restaurant I've ever dine in. We were in the middle of our meal when one of the staff asked us if we can move to another table. Seriously??? So rude!!! Even a fast-food chain won't treat you that way. You need to improve your business etiquette and seat planning. I don't recommend this restaurant. I lost my appetite. NEVER ASK A CUSTOMER TO MOVE TO MOVE TABLES IN THE MIDDLE OF THE MEAL!!!

If you like HAIR in your food and EXTREMELY RUDE SERVICE, this is the place for you!

By Honest R |

First of all, there is a very short, skinny, old man server on the 2nd floor. He is the most belligerent, insulting, impolite server my family and I have ever had the displeasure of encountering. We ordered the bibimbap and for one of the dishes, there were like only 4 pieces of bean sprouts in there. There should normally be way more bean sprouts in bibimbap. When we asked him for more, he said this was not his responsibility, it was the kitchen’s and he said he could not do anything about it! We tried to explain and ask nicely if he can ask the cook but he started screaming at us and said he would not do it. He ended up bringing the bean sprouts. If he was going to bring them to us ANYWAY, why all the fuss in the first place? He seems to forget what his job is. It is to serve and please the customers, not scream at them and argue over some measly bean sprouts. How difficult is it to just bring more bean sprouts? His nastiness was uncalled for. Even cooks make mistakes (like I am going to explain regarding another incident below) so what harm is there in at least asking them for a bit more ingredient when there was not enough to begin with? We were so upset that we could not eat so we decided to take everything to-go. Much to our dismay and to make things even worse, we found someone’s HAIR inside the bibimbap! Complete nasty. Only unprofessional, unclean establishments have hair in the food. Very unsanitary! We wonder what other nastiness is hiding in the food. The owner of this restaurant should take responsibility for running this place amok. The owner does not seem to do anything if servers are rude to customers, based on our experience and reading the other Yelp feedback. The owner needs to TRAIN the servers on providing basic customer service. This is not our first time encountering a rude server at this place. She needs to reorient this place to placing customers first and serving clean food with bigger portions.

Good food

By C M |

We travelled to New York in January and was treated by a friend to this restaurant. It’s proper Korean menu. The place was busy but we were able to enjoy our time with our friend while enjoying their food.

Decent food

By greconj |

The service is fast but not friendly. I would call it 'efficient '! Food was good but I've def had better in this neighborhood. Bibim bop was very good. Bulgogi not so much. The tea at the end was good but very sweet. With so many other better options so close by, I probably won't be back.

Quick bite

By abien |

Stopped in for a quick afternoon snack. A bit pricey, but that NYC. Food was good - had hae mool pajun and japchae. They also gave us a complementary steamed egg thing.

Rude staff!!!

By Go2Wander |

My friend and I had our dinner at this restaurant last Dec 26. The worst restaurant I've ever dine in. We were in the middle of our meal when one of the staff ( a lady in her mid 50's, short hair) asked us if we can move to another table.

Great Korean Food

By ktmw985 |

Usually the side dishes at Korean restaurants are a bit disappointing, but the sides at Kunjip was actually pretty good. They didn't skimp on the toppings for the bibimbap, and the soup that came with it was delicious. The service was good, and I would recommend coming here.

Great Korean food 24/7!

By Traveltheorient |

There was a line of people waiting to get in and the vast majority appeared to look like locals... Always a good sign... We got the menus and our orders were taken while still in line... (Actually very clever idea so that people do NOT waste precious profit opportunity time contemplating what to eat). I ordered a fish egg soup and I forgot what my wife ordered. I received a surprisingly large amount of fish eggs; in fact, compared to other experiences in Korean restaurants in other parts of the country, I have received by far the largest portion. Our meal was very tasty... Now this place hops and so if you want a quiet, leisurely dinner, this is NOT the place to go... If you have not been to a Korean restaurant and don't know what to do, this is NOT the place to come to... But if you want a good, authentic Korean meal (see their menu in the window shop), this is definitely the place to come to..

I was hungry, then I wasn't

By GSharara |

I was hungry when I got in and then I wasn't 😀 this place have a good atmosphere. The food was adequate, some dishes more tasty than others. Nothing to rave about really, but seemed pricey.

The was a small restaurant, but the food was very good

By Caesar A |

I order bulgogi. My girlfriend ordered dumpling. I wanted barbequed bulgogi but it was too expensive. The food came quickly and the food was very good. I would recommend this place for lunch or dinner.

Rude, Worse service, will never return

By Van T |

If i could give this a 0 rating i would. This place have the worst service. I work with over 5 restaurants a day photographing their menu, so i understand service. Im not sure how they are still in business. We arrived and the manager was already rude to my friend, i told him nicely that "my friends felt like you were being mean to her and very uncomfortable" he ignored it. after a long wait, the Manager sat us down and when we were having a conversation he came over and told us to keep it down, even tho we were speaking at a average volume when the next able is all drunks and screaming. I asked him for his name and position, he went ahead and spoke in Korean and lied to me saying it was "Chogiyo" then he asked me what my name was and laughing to other staff. My friend felt extremely uncomfortable and disrespected. I will make sure this place is known for their poor service and will never be returning. Last but not least i want to thank one special elder woman who later on treated us like family and extremely apologetic because without her, i would of left. Van

Lunch at Korean Town

By Winnie N |

Had BBQ and some traditional Korean food. Food was tasty and service was good. We ordered a Korean pancake but was not served. When we asked about it, they quickly prepared one and served it to us and did not bill us for it. Thank you. Try this restaurant if you do not know which restaurant to go to at Korean Town in New York.

Worth the rude staff

By Michael B |

We've been to other Korean places in NY that weren't nearly as good and where we were treated much worse. Don't go if you need to be waited on by staff who aren't downright angry that you're eating at their restaurant. But if you want some mind-blowing Korean food, this place is amazing. Make reservations or be prepared to wait for at least an hour for a spot.

Very Good Korean Food

By Catherine M |

We've been to this Korean restaurant several times and we have yet to be disappointed! We love the freshness of the food. Their Korean BBQ was quite tasty as was their bibimbap. Their dumplings are great, too! I love that it's open all the time. It's now our go to restaurant every time we're in NYC!

scrumptious BBQ

By eastsidewestside |

loved the food. services were ok. child-friendly, though. can be very crowded but they do take reservation.

Very popular!

By Camila120428 |

This is one popular restaurant with an extensive menu. As always in Korean restaurants, a generous array of side dishes was laid out as soon as I sat down. I was almost full by the time the main course came but still enjoyed my dogani tang and the steamed egg. All the food was too much for one but perfect for two.

Horrible service!!!

By Trek239322 |

Service horrible. Never will go again. The old location was much better. Food and services! !!! At least the waitress are not hovering over you, so that you can't eat. Very rud!!! Very pricey!!! Very disappointed! !!! This restaurant was one place I liked in the city, but not anymore!!!

The food is OK, price not really for lunch. Waiters are efficient. Good for a quick lunch if you wanna have some hot food at the Korean Town.

Authentic Korean - OUTSTANDING!

By PKK |

I'm a veteran of Korean restaurants given I once was an executive with a huge Korean company (chabol) and routinely dined with my fellow employees both in the States and in South Korea. In short my experiences taught me a great deal about the people, the food and the origin of Korean dishes and I rapidly began to appreciate the variety and unique food of the Korean people. Kunjip is as authentic as you can expect to find without having to travel to Seoul, Busan, Incheon, etc. Located at 32 West 32nd Street in NYC it sits inside the short block commonly referred to as Ktown. Like most businesses in Ktown it's small (although they have another dining room on the second floor) but comfortable. The seating is efficiently organized with any table easily made into a two top simply by placing a vertical divider in the center of the table (makes a 4 top into two 2 tops). Some people may not be comfortable with sitting so closely alongside other diners they don't know but it didn't bother me in the least. To be fair I was seated at what must be the worst seat in the restaurant as it was the very last table on the first floor immediately off the kitchen. It was placed against a partial wall that separates the kitchen from the dining area and as a result only one person could be seated at a divided table as opposed to two, which was fine because I was all by myself. The menu offers a variety of Korean favorites; essentially anything you can think of and plenty that you may not have ever seen or heard of before. I ordered two different types of short rib (Gal bi Gui, sometimes spelled Kalbi as well). One type had been marinated a long time, the second had been marinated immediately before cooking. Each table is a brazier station enabling diners to cook the foods of their choice to their liking, however when you sit at a divided 4 top you can't use the brazier so you food is cooked in the kitchen. This means that if you want to BBQ your own short ribs you should eat with at least 2 others or come when it's very slow in the restaurant. My food was served while the beef was still sizzling and, as is the case with traditional Koran restaurants, accompanied by a set of small separate dishes including fishcake (really good), julienne potatoes, marinated soybeans, garlic & soybean paste, lettuce leaves (you spread the paste on the lettuce, placing the short rib on top and wrap, then eat...it's addictive), kimchi and pickled radish. I had a great meal, so great that I ordered a second serving of the exact same. This restaurant is incredibly busy so at peak dining hours you may experience a brief wait for a table. I won't stand in line for anything but in the case of KunJip I'd make an exception because I know it's well worth the wait. If you don't want to wait for a table arrive earlier than the traditional lunch or dinner hour. Best of all you can be totally flexible because like almost every restaurant in Ktown they are open 24/7 (really how great is that?) I'll be back in NYC this Sunday and I plan to enjoy another great meal at KunJip. I'm happy I found this Korean jewel and am looking forward to returning. OK food, but horrible service

By CT7400 |

A friend of ours from NYC treated me and visiting relatives from Korea to dinner here. We ordered bulgogi, bibimbap, dwaenjangjiggae, and a fish dish, and we all agreed the food was OK but nothing really special. What really annoyed us was the fish dish didn't make it to us until everyone finished all the other food. It actually arrived at the same time as the check. We asked them to take it off the bill, and the waitress actually got belligerent and told us "every Korean knows fish takes a long time to prepare" -- as if it was our fault. I jokingly asked if Americans were disappointed when they ordered the fish, and she dismissively told us (in Korean) "Americans don't come here." Our New Yorker host raised the issue with other staff members at the restaurant, and within a few minutes the waitress returned to our table to "apologize" (rolling her eyes), and then she tols us we should take the fish to go since they'd gone to the trouble to make it. We refused and eventually got it taken off the bill, but overall we were extremely disappointed in this restaurant. Our worst Korean dining experience ever.

Not the most ‘welcoming’ but great food!

By Slavomir B |

One of the top Koreans Restaurants in the City!!! Almost any night, you can expect to wait but everything moves quickly. If you like kimchi - they take the time to ferment it properly (not rushed with vinegar). This is a great restaurant. The beef BBQ (marinated) is excellent.

Great Korean Food and Atmosphere

By ronbrisbane2017 |

This restaurant was a great experience - after a wait of about 20 minutes we were seated in a cosy bustling atmosphere. Our food came quickly after ordering as a collection of small bowls on a wooden platter. The food was very tasty and different - reasonably priced as well. We found the staff very friendly even though they were busy . Worth the experience but try to avoid dinner time if you want to avoid queues.

Fast, Good & Authentic

By kesilo |

We stumbled into Kunjip during lunch time while looking for a Korean restaurant in Korean town. We have no regrets because the food was simply fantastic. We ordered simple food like bi bim bap (korean mixed rice) and korean rice noodles. There were both very good. It surprised us how fast the food came. They were steaming hot and fresh. The appetizers were also very good especially the steamed eggs which I consider the best I have ever had. The restaurant was packed and there were many Koreans eating there too which is a very good sign. We will definitely go back to Kunjip when we return to New York city.

Nothing special about the food but service Sucks

By IsisChang |

had dinner with my mother and freinds a month ago at this restaurant, after the dinner, when we were counting the money on our table,an old woman just came and grabbed all the money without asking! That's awfully rude, made us really unhappy. And the service was terrible, the waiter could barely speak English(we are Taiwanese so besides Chinese the only language we can understand in NYC is English ). Even though, the old woman asked for 10 dollars(the dinner costed 50 dollars ) for tips ,and her facial expression was just as terrible as some crazy dogs. The service didn't deserve even a dollar but we were scared so we paid as she shouted. Awful restaurant, service(if they have the guts to call that service)sucks, the worst dinner experience in NYC(even McDonald's is 1000 times better than this),never going to go again, definitely.

Fast but friendly service for Korean BBQ

By Leahs5512 |

I stopped here with some friends for dinner while I was in town. I wasn't super familiar with the various Korean restaurants in Koreatown but this one had a long line of Korean patrons so we assumed it would be good. And it was! The side dishes were great and the spicy chicken bbq was exactly what I wanted it to be. The japchae was seasoned slightly differently than I expected but was still delicious. And the bulgogi was also presented slightly differently, with a broth rather than a grill, but it was also excellent and we all stuffed ourselves. For as busy as they were, the moved patrons quickly but nicely through so the wait was not long even though the line was. We would definitely come back here again, but the only reason we may not right away is because there are SO many options haha. It was a little pricey but not outrageous for NYC.

Outstanding food

By capsicum0620 |

An amazing place featuring many hard-to-find genuine Korean dishes. The blood sausage soup was a delight. Fast, smiling and efficient service. Reasonable prices. 99% of the customers were Korean, always a good sign (in that case!!!). I would gladly make my daily canteen of this place Congratulations

Great improvements

By Kitty272727 |

The banchan is still lackluster, mostly mild preserved vegetables and some Vienna sausage slices in sweet sauce. Our lunch specials were truly excellent, however. I had a grilled mackerel and a great seafood-tofu soup. My husband had a soup stew with lots of different meats, kimchee (of course), tofu, noodles, and other ingredients. He said it was the best soup stew ever. For all this, plus rice, tea, and sweet ginger tea, the price was a low $38 for two of us. The service was efficient and helpful, clearing plates, replenishing tea, etc. I liked the cozy upstairs room.

The worst restaurant I've ever been

By fjkk |

old lady not waitress was so rude. she rushed us to order while we were still looking at the menu. food was also bad.

Service was horrid....if you are white

By amalia L |

I am a reviewer on this site for many years, and I have never given such a review. There was a definite distinction given between the Asian customers and European customers. The cherry on top was when the waitress came to the table to tell me that my 15% tip was not enough and I had to put more of a tip. This was repeated to other tables of Europeans but not with the Asian tables.

Delicious food, lots of sides

By Sydney-sider_ML |

Wide range of choice, food was delicious and the side dishes were all good. Staff are very professional and the prices are reasonable.A lot of the soup dishes contain noodles and comes with brown/red rice, so it's very filling.

Would recommend this restaurant for Korean bbq

By The Great Escape villa Koh Lanta |

Great and busy restaurant, they have two floors packed with tables and a lot of Korean costumers. Always a good sign for good food. You can both bbq and eat a la carte, we did both. Friendly staff although a nod hard to understand because of language and a lot of noise. Not so expensive I say a good deal with tasty food.

You'll love Korean!

Kunjip is such a lovely and genuine little gem in Korea town. Bring you date here, eat an unforgetable dinner and walk around the corner and take the elevator up in Empire State Building.

Amazing Korean Restaurant

By Caroline Y |

One of our family members is from Korean, and she arranged our family dinner here three years ago. It was wonderful. So much so when we returned this March, my husband and I returned it was just as good. I recommend making reservations as there away is a lineup, but it is indeed worth the wait.

Korean BBQ Fantastic Flare

By lizd3 |

23 people eating and it was fantastic! Everyone enjoyed the food even the kids. It was a great experience. It helped that my lifelong friend was able to order for all of us. Service is not the best but they definitely try. We all jumped in to help serve so it was perfect. The food flavors could not be beat. Highly recommended.

Don't go there!!!

Rude personell. Bad food and smell. You do not feel welcome. So do not go there there are thousands of better restaurants to got to.

Gladly again

Good Korean food. The rice cakes are just as they should be. Fast and good and polite staff.

Worst experience ever! 서비스가 너무나빠서 큰팁을 주지 않았고 we were prevented from leaving. 다시는 거기에 안 갈거예요!

By Jujibi |

A friend and I went to the newly opened The Kunjip for lunch and despite giving a tip for our poor and hurried service, we were approached twice to pay more. An older waitress threw our cash back down onto the table and demanded more tip, then out of nowhere another waitress grabbed the cash. So we proceeded to leave and as we were walking out, the same waitress who grabbed the money tried to stop us from leaving muttering that the tip wasn't enough. Given the bad service, we only tipped 10% giving them about ~$3 . Even if they were not satisfied, never did I think they would prevent us from leaving. Never going back and I hope they stop this behavior. I know they have to make a living but preventing people that have paid their bill and tipped from leaving is too much!!!

Good meal

By Eric P |

Seven of us met here for a business dinner. We had arranged one of the semi private dining rooms. Thank god it was prearranged as this place was completely packed and a large line of folks waiting for a table. The service we had was quite good and very attentive. We were never left for wanting anything. The food was pretty good and we had plenty of it. It was cooked over gas flame which is not my preference. I prefer the wood coal fired barbecue but as I under that is not available in nyc.

Experience of Korean Food in New York

By CSRam |

I wanted to have some Korean food in New York n we went looking for it in the best place we thought "Korea Town", NYC for Lunch. Entered this Restaurant which we found was fully open , unlike other restaurants where we were told that the conveyor belt(the USP of the restaurant was for dinner only!!), was ushered in by a pleasant person, we got the tables immediately. We took some help from the order taker for giving our order, after placing the order of only two dishes, I though it would be better to order another dish as we were hungry, the waitress gave me a half smile when she took the order on my insistence, I knew why when I saw the size of the Bowls arriving to our table! wow the soups were actually boiling in the top as though it was on flame. Nice Aroma, superbly flavored and nice combination of various kinds of vegetables and meat, the food was accompanied by some 6 kinds of pickle!! My first experience of Korean was superb which means I would not miss going to Kunjip again and Korean food outing would always be welcome.

Ouch. Stay away.

By Frances K |

As native New Yorkers, we've been eating here for a few years. It's so sad what's happened. Were unnecessarily rude and nasty. The waitress was so rushed that she ran off before we'd finished ordering and they brought barbecue before we were able to order starters. Refused to answer questions about dishes we were not familiar with. The stove was really dirty and they just wiped away the old food. The grill didn't work. We left before we finished eating because we were disgusted. The food was good, but not worth putting up with the service and lack of cleanliness. Dirty. Rude. Unsatisfying.

Late Night Meal

By J Wong |

Dinner at 11 pm $31+tip Accepts all major credit cards ** (Casual) Weekend evenings are super busy. This place always feels a bit understaffed, however, they some how always manage to get to you in reasonanle time: bringing the banchan (korean complementary appetizers like kimchi and spicy radishes), filling water, taking and delivering orders. Restaurant is very high energy. Food quality is ok. Unfortunately this place isn't usually our first choice in Ktown, but it is open later than most so we often end up here. There are better bbq places. I had the spicy pork stone bowl and the wife had tofu stew. Chose no alcohol in this sitting but would usually get the chamisul classic soju (which I think every table around us ordered).

Worst meal ever

Korean BBQ- Try It!

First time we tried a Korean BBQ as a family and we all loved it! Fast service and food is fresh & plenty of it! Marinated chicken/ pork was really good! Definitely will return.

Fun experience!

By FleurDeLis1222 |

We came here during lunch and shared the bbq beef/pork special and hot noodles. Our cook was very kind and friendly, and the waitstaff kept bringing out more delicious sides to eat with our meal. Every bite was delicious and fun, but I especially loved the spare rib with jicama and kimchi and the cinnamon tea. YUM! (And, they had the cleanest bathroom that I'd seen all week!) We loved this place and would definitely return during our next trip to NYC!

Great food and service

By banana-chips-14 |

We were looking to have a simple korean lunch, and it ended up being an exciting meal that i wont forget. We ordered from the lunch menu: a bibimbob with the soft tofu stew, and a seafood udon. Deeelicious!!! Served with veggie sides and kimchi. The food came in these hot pots making the food all sizzling. At the end of the meal we got some sweet cinnamon tea :) The restaurant is decorated in true korea style, making it feel like being in a completely different place! The staff was friendly and very helpful, also the food arrives in no time! This place is really recommended :)

Not great

By GayaSKD |

The food was below par. We had another Korean meal with a restaurant just two doors away from the Kunjip and it was incredible but was also reasonable! This place was a let down. We wanted something different hence went to this place instead of the one we had been to two doors away, that was definitely a mistake!!!!! The food was tasteless and incredibly oily. Korean food isn’t meant to be oily. The seafood pancake was gooey and sticky than soft with crispy ends. It was a disappointing and overpriced meal.

Really lovely food. We had barbecue which was great. Good quality meat with lots of extra accompanying dishes. I would recommend this for an evening out. Staff were friendly.

Excellent Korean Food

By Lou G |

After living in Busan, South Korea for two years, I've grown accustomed to the amazing food in this vibrant second city. Eating Korean food in the states since then has been rather disappointing, as would be expected. That all changed when we visited Kunjip (translated, Big House). Everything we ate was authentic and very delicious. I would highly recommend it when in K'Town, NYC!

Spicy and good

By Hizkuntza |

Lots of spicy food! Albeit the constant shouting, this K-restaurant was just like a street food experiences: noisy, packed, full of flavours, ideal for large groups. Go there, it is an amazing experience.

Horrible experience who demands TIP!

By Sincere86 |

We ate at this place while in New York. I was very impress how quick our food was served but then just to realize ---- the faster they served your food the faster they want you out. The lines were really long as people were waiting. We order the Korean BBQ, the waiter ruined our experience of table cooking. She literally cooked it for us! She was super rude, she snatched the chopstick from my niece hand! Food was okay, ive had better Korean food. Our bill came up to $100 and as we paid at the counter the old lady ( I don’t know if shes the owner ) asked if we left a tip we said YES but she didn’t believe us so she called the waiter on their walkie talkie. We gave a $5 tip because the service we got was HORRIBLE! She demanded a $14 tip from us. Who the hell does that? Our experience was horrible and we will never eat here again! She would not give back my boyfriend credit card until he put a $14 tip!

First Stop for Korean Food

We visited The Kunjip for lunch on a recommendation from a family member. We were not disappointed! The atmosphere and the menu made this such an enjoyable dining experience - highly recommended if you like or want to try Korean food! Get there early if you don't want to wait as the line is often out the door.

Very good

By Manuel Ramon M |

We had lunch here April 15, Saturday. It was very full but managed to get a seat because we were there a little before noon. This day was a beautiful with the sun up and people were just out to enjoy it. Food was good. We had bibimbap combo with soup, seafood omellete and dumpling (i forget what the foods were called). The reason i gave a four because the service was a bit lacking maybe because it was very busy. I'll definitely go back.

Not up to par

By Kitty272727 |

The competition is really stiff with over one hundred other Korean restaurants on the same block. Most of the others have been excellent. The array of banchan lacked variety, mostly pickled vegetables, no bits of fish, no seaweed. We started with some fried mandoo that had good wrappers (often the wrappers are too thick) but with a bland ground meat mixture. Adding sauces improved them greatly. The kimchee soup had excellent broth but mushy kimchee and little pork. My seafood pancake had barely detectable bits of squid and was very flat, looking more like a Chinese scallion pancake. It was tasty anyway, but I was sorry I got the large, not the small, size. Service was efficient. The room is pleasant and homey.

Yummy Korean food

By Aznita N |

Atmosphere was good. We ordered the Raboki, seafood bibimbap, tofu soup! The portions were a lot for the 3 of us but the food was good! One of the waitress came over and help us out and taught us how to mix the bibimbap( I thought it was very sweet of her)!! We were given a steamed egg . The appetisers were : kimchi, bean sprout , glass noodles, chickpeas and red bean, and others which were refilled to our request! And to finish it off, we were given a cup of tea ! PS: they have vegetarian options too for certain dishes

Good soups - OK portions

By wacotom |

We stopped around 6PM for dinner and walked right in. Extremely quick service although it took us awhile to read thru the menu. We ordered two different kimchi soups, I had a pork and my wife had a fish. Both were good and although listed as spicy they were noth just right. Good side dishes but I wish they would have put more on the dishes. Other than bringing food and clearing dishes we did not see our servers. Food came out very quickly. Both of us enjoyed our meal and although not cheap it could have been much worse .

Good lunch special

The rules: in, eat a great meal, out and move onward!

By RyanColSolare |

I have lived in Korea and have had Korean food all over the USA including Koreatown. I was in town on business, so I decided to give Kanjip a try. It is a very small place so timing is critical! I arrived at 6:15 pm on a Wednesday and was seated immediately. However, there was a line out the door when I left at 7:15. And I would have waited in that line! The food was authentic, Korean comfort food! They start you off with whipped, boiled eggs in a small cast-iron cauldron with a delicious seasoned broth - light and tasty. I got pork bulgogi (it was hard to find on the menu - so just ask!). It was served with lettuce leaves (which is the authentic way, but most restaurants in the US do not or will not serve it this way). The sides were fresh, delicious - even the bean paste was made from scratch. Great place for a quick meal -not a place to linger and have a romantic dinner - more like sitting in mom's kitchen. But oh so good.

Horrible service/ female manager threw food at minors ( age 12,13,16, 4 year olds.

By Rik D |

Horrible experience. We had 3 separate tickets. 1 ticket was 4 people, second ticker was 3, last ticket was 1person. At then end ky niece who is 19 paid for her meal wat was was $146. She was jst wanting to different food selections . When my niece gave the money she also gave the lady a $20 dollar tip for one person. The waitress told my niece she wanted $30-40 Dollars . The waitress did not want the money and two times gave me back the $20 dollars. I explained to the lady they were with me, however me and the 3rd person who was paying food, we were tipping over $50 dollars. This waitress then at one point asked for the cash back from my niece which at that point I said no. The lady tells me she wants the tip at the bottom of the check in how it was mandatory. I inform the lad suggested got tip.l and how it was unprofessional. My cousin husband and I asked to speak with a manager. The manager comes out, starts telling us we needed to pay her. Waitress in tip. I tried 4-5 times telling the manager that we tried to pay and she gave us back the money twice. The manger was yelling at me , my niece, and my husbands cousins. She told us to give her the money and the tip and leave. Which before the manager came over we were splitting the bigger tip between me and my cousins husband. We pay and my family walked out EMBARRASSED, Profiled, the manager and the Waitress was verbally escalating. As we are walking out, my cousin, my niece, wee completely shocked that we spend so much money purchasing food then go have this two individuals yell at us in front up people upstairs and then for the FEMALE MANAGER TO THROW food at my 2 kids 16 and year old, my niece 13 and 4 year old toldler. She threw food from behind hitting them and the ground with food. She took of f running , however thanks to the bystander who saw the manager come from behind the kids. We turned and she had literally hit the KIDS with food. I told my cousin to call the cops, the Manager made a poor choice of hitting the kids with food. The guy host was laughing after seeing the manger hit my kids with food , and the manger running back into the restroom. When the manger came down when the cops showed up, I told her she hit my kids and nieces all who were minors. She tried to tell me I owed the waitress who was j hard working money. I said that does not justify you hitting the kids with FOOD. The minors had food in their hair, shoes, headband. The Tolder had food in her shoes as well . The manger began hitting her fist and huffing at me with the 4 year old sitting next to me at the front. The cop came up behind the manger if she was threatening me. Cop asked to see video footage of what took place. After almost 30 minutes the cop comes out telling the lady she could be arrested for assault the kids with food. Cop told the manager you saw what I saw win the video which showed what me and my family said what happened . The manger tried to apologize, but I told her to apologize to the kids, but I definitely didn’t feel her actions ere genuine because she still was trying to justify her in the moment POOR , aggressive tactics. The other cop tried talking to the manager about the suggested tips. Saying it’s a suggestion and that the waitress was out of line. I came outside the restaurant because I could here the manager yelling at the cop and the cop holding his ground. Telling the manager she needs to make sure she investigates before making any next step. That throwing food at anyone and THREATENING BEHAVIOR. After almost 2 hours the cop did let the manager to try to fix the issue, or I can press charges if me and my family choose to. There was video and 3 random bystanders who saw the female manger run out of the store to proceed to throw the food with the kids. Thankfully the one bystander who warned us the min he saw her raising the food behind the kids. I told the manger after almost 2 hours of the crap, at this point I felt she owed the refund back. She said no because it’s their business money. I told her you hit minors with food.

Used to be one of my favs. Gone down hill.

What happened? I use to come here a lot between years 2014-2018 and loved this adorable and delicious authentic find. This 2019 visit was on a US National Holiday that they decided not to give us their weekday lunch special menu, which didn’t stop us. But then everything went downhill after ordering. We ordered over the table bbq freshly cooked Galbi and Bulgogi and both were wrong cut of non tender meat they use to have. Very chewy rather than marinated good smooth cut—expecting good cut since we are charged $$$. Ended up overpriced for inferior cut meat where we can easily get better cut meat in Flushing for less price. Worst is that the supervisor demanded us to give them $5 more dollar tips!!!! They said because we ordered over the table bbq grilled lunch that our 18% tip was not enough. Since when did a manager coerced customers to give more! I’m not even European who doesn’t need tip in Europe and walked away without tipping not knowing US custom. How rude!!!!! No way they were getting an extra dollar for rushing us out the door for the long awaiting tourist crowd. I am never coming back here again. The service gone down hill, since it became popular lunch place, visited by tourists from mainland China (not the ordinary Asian Americans nor Koreans) who doesn’t know the difference of good Korean food verses bad Korean food, and settles for rudeness and mediocrity. Sad. Use to be my go to spot for lunch from time up time. Not anymore.

Food was ok, but service was horrible

By Bruce Yoo |

Food was ok, but the service was horrible. We got the table at the 2nd floor little after 7pm. It was quite busy, but not over crowded. A young lady was our server and got the orders from us. She looks tired and unhappy. My entire dinner time, she never checked my table and no eye contact ever. I have been in the restaurant business 20+ yrs. I’m really sorry for the owner who has no choice but to hire these people and suffers every day. I believe servers are the representative of the restaurant. Even if the quality of food is just average, customers still enjoy when they get a great service.

Great Korean BBQ

By ChompChomp82 |

We ordered the spicy Korean BBQ pork and the bimbimbap. The food was very good and we didn't have to wait long for a table.

Many customers line along the stairs

By ItalyMar |

If you see people lining along the stairs getting to the first floor of the restaurant it means you arrived late. Both dining rooms downstairs and upstairs are full but don’t worry: the line seems to be quick and you’ll be offered a table after a not long wait. The restaurant is just at the beginning of the 32nd Street in the so called Koreatown where all Korean restaurants are. If you are uncertain which restaurant to choose remember this could be a good choice. The dining rooms are not large but can seat many customers because tables are very close (so privacy is not guaranteed). The list has many photos for those who don’t know the Korean cuisine, service is quick (and impersonal) even in the rush hour. All main dishes come with unexpected complimentary side dishes (we received 6 of them) which will give you the opportunity to taste some appetizers of the Korean cuisine. The bibimbab we ordered (one beef and the other chicken) were good (but a little more beef would be appreciated) and had their own side dish (a tofu soup). Then we received a complimentary sweet cinnamon drink to end the meal. Everything good with prices starting from $17 for bibimbab. Customers were mainly young people.

Korean BBQ yum!

By ultracheapsk8 |

We love Korean BBQ and Beef Combo #2 was a good deal. So many banchan to choose from, our table was not big enough! Kimchee was soo good. Rice is purple with beans and wild rice - the way my mom makes it, but hubby didn't like it. Bibimbap has white rice. Mandoo was big and flavorful. Don't know if we got better service because I ordered in Korean, but food was brought out quickly. Doengang chigae was tasty. Only hick up was steamed egg casserole did not get to the table until we were done and too full to take another bite. Cinnamon tea after meal was refreshing.

Great food and service

Amazing place to eat!! The service was great. Also, there was a variety of delicious traditional Korean foods. They even provide a grill to cook the meats.

Real Korean Food ever

It's quite hard to meet Korean restaurant tastes like real Korean food when I am not in Korea. But this is super real. Thumbs up! But if you are not a Korean, you might like or not depending on menu. But I strongly recommend if you look for real Korean food in NY.

Awful experience!

By noor k |

This place was AWFUL !! From the dishes that my 4 person party ordered, nothing came out tasty. Everything was incredibly bland. Not to mention the disgusting attitude that our waitress had towards us. Between snarky remarks from our waitress, to food being thrown on our table, to insanely bland food, this is singlehandedly the worst restaurant I have ever been to.

it specializes in authentic korean food. The ban chan is great with lots of variety and the food is amazing. been here many times and will keep going back.

Side dishes straight from the farm

By NikaJunie |

This is my favorite Koreatown restaurant. I highly recommended it to carnivores of all ethnicities, as long as they enjoy chilies and garlic. BBQ is done right at the tables by an attentive and competent waitstaff. The meat and fish are good and plentiful and an amazing number of side dishes are included as accompaniments, a Korean custom, I'm told. To maintain authenticity, Kunjip runs a local farm to grow special Korean veggies. There is also a large variety of hotpots on offer, some vegetarian. Like most of Koreatown, this place has a young, slightly frenetic vib, but elders are welcome.

Super Korea bbq

By Saansaax |

This is amongst the best bbq in Manhattan. The marinated beef and the pork were divine. The sides that they provide were good but can be improved . The combo with spicy pork rice and the seafood soup was a hit and miss . The pork rice was a hit but the seafood soup was a miss . Menus are difficult to understand and the service too officious . The crew is more task oriented and needs some customer orientation . All in all a good experience .

Great Food, Bad Service

By mundi77 |

Wanted my two friends to experience authentic Korean food in Koreatown. Visited The Kunjip last Saturday evening, at 7 p.m., which couldn't be helped. There were two waiting lines once we were greeted by host at the door. We were ushered to the stairs behind a dozen others. Two women seemed to be working the lines - asking how many in our party (again), handing us menus, and taking our food orders while we waited. Was disorganized and chaotic. Korean-speaking guests in front of us were "working the system", attempting to jump the line for a table. After 20-minute wait, we were taken to a table on the 2nd floor, back room. After delivering our banchan (Korean sides), they moved us to a different table. We ordered the dumplings (만두) and samgyapsal (삼겹살), which was delicious. The servers never asked us if we wanted beverages. Now I'm not the fastest eater, however I was very hungry and eating at a fairly rapid pace. My two friends were finishing up as well, when suddenly the servers began grabbing our plates. They tried to snatch my yummy cinnamon tea three times before I could finish. Simultaneously, they handed us the check and put up a large room screen behind us, boxing us in. They grabbed our money before it could touch the table. We couldn't understand what was going on until we passed a group of guys wearing face masks while leaving. Figured out it was Wanna One (K-pop band) and they needed our table. Though we were excited about seeing Wanna One, we think the staff could have been much much friendlier, and explained the situation. To sum it up, I would give a 1-star rating, but the Korean pork barbecue was delicious, so I'll go with a 2. However not convinced it's worth the bad service.

Good, but could be better

By Daniel K |

Many people lined up, and a bit noisy inside restaurant as there are many people. It would be to great if they allow customers to spend a bit more time on enjoying food. I felt they want customers get out asap for better turnaround. Menus are good.

Good food got to wait.

By Sunnytan30 |

The queue is long and prepare to spend approximately 30mins during peak dining hours. The place is packed and if one makes reservation, all parties need to be there and visually seen before table made available. Their service is very fast, no time waste as you need to order before your are seated and food are already being prepared. Food taste great and took the budae chigae which is combination of instant noodle, glass noodle, sausage, rice cake, dried toufu, pork, kimchi and ham and taste great. Apart from food that one ordered, they will provide lots of side dishes, rice and steam egg. So, don’t order too much unless you can finish it.

So good we went 4 times

This is a fantastic restaurant. Very tasty food with great flavours. The two of us shared a main dish each time which cost around $15. Service was friendly and we wish we could transport the restaurant back home. Highly recommended.

Great food. Can be very spicy. Reasonable price. Busy restaurant - we ate around 3pm. Waitress was very helpful with our whole chicken soup. Be careful of small bones. Spicy beef great. Korean sausage great taste.

A fantastic experience

By CornaTH |

My wife and I met up with a college friend of mine and his wife and daughter. It was such a great suggestion to meet here. We had never experienced Korean BBQ food before, and we were so impressed. We had a huge selection of small starters that we shared, each one more delicious that the other. The meat for the main courses was cooked in front of us and was so tasty. For completeness, we had some Korean beer to wash it all down. We are converts to this type of food. Staff members that we dealt with, were very friendly. Overall, an extremely enjoyable experience.

Possibly the Best Lubch in K-Town NYC

By DAdadNYC |

We are the regular for lunch special in The Kunjip. It is because the food are similar compare to the dinner but the value is way better. We like the combo with Short Ribs and Cold Noodles, Ox Bone and Blood Soap and the Cold Cut Pork Belly. Of course, the Tofu Seafood Soap and the Pancake are great, too. Value and Tasty. Thank you Kunjip offer possibly the best lunch in K Town.

A rushed experience

By Artur A |

We were a group of 6 plus 2 small children. We walked in on a saturday night, as we were in the area. The wait was not very long, and they seemed very accommodating. But since the moment we started getting food, everything went downhill. The experience was very nice, several people were taking care of our table, though the lady mostly serving our table seemed to not understand us very well, nor did we understand her. (I asked for soy sauce, and got salt and pepper. tried asking again, and I was simply ignored). They brought a bunch of small plates that we tried figuring out what to do with them, but that's ok, it still felt authentic and interesting. I order the ox bone soup. Horrible choice. Absolutely bland and I couldn't even eat 10% of it. Still, we were in good company and where sharing several plates and we had fun. Here's the catch. We received absolutely all of our food within 20-30 min, which may be nice, but 30 min since we were seated, we were already brought complementary dessert. I actually checked the time, so this is very precise. We where sooooo rushed. Some were still working on their entrees and having conversations, and they simply bring the desserts, and 5 minutes later they drop off the check which we did no ask for. We only spent 45 minutes there and we already got the check. Nevertheless, up until this point it was still a 3 star experience, but here's where they were over the line. Since we were not ready to pay, we ignored the check, but noooo, 5 minutes later a waiter comes to the table, picks up the check so that everyone can see what he's doing, and puts it right into my hand, almost into my plate while I was still eating. And he did that so candid, without saying a word. In less then 1 hour, we where rushed out of the restaurant. We definitely wanted to take our time and enjoy the food, enjoy our drinks and just catch up with our friends that we didn't see for a very long time. We did tell them we didn't appreciate being rushed like that, but they seemed to care less. They where in a hurry to seat the next visitors to our table.

Full on dinner in Koreatown

By Max P |

My family starting out grazing on dumplings at Mandoo Bar, but after a few hours of Karaoke we wanted a full meal. Kunjip didn't disappoint. We had several dishes, but it seemed the BiBimBap was the standout. We are not Korean food experts, but enjoyed the dishes. We also tried some soju. The service was attentive and efficient, but not overly friendly. I'd certainly go back. This was not an expensive meal for 4 and you got a lot of good quality food.

Good K-town BBQ!

By Chang- G |

K-BBQ is always a family favorite and we've always liked Kunjip and had a good time. This visit wasn't any different - lots of hustle and bustle, chaos, but great fun and good food. We always call ahead to make a reservation - and while it doesn't guarantee you a table the moment you check in, you do skip to the head of the (long) line and get the next available one. (Highly advisable to avoid standing outside in these frigid temps!) Kunjip has a varied banchan assortment, including steamed egg and, for the winter, a piping hot and fiery tofu jigae. After some fried mandu (unfortunately deep-fried instead of pan-fried ... nevertheless, the mandu were meaty and flavorful) and seafood pa jun, we dove into their Combo No. 1 for the grill (prime short rib, dry-aged prime rib-eye steak, and prime rib-eye) with pork belly added a la carte. Delicious meat, grilled well table-side by the waitstaff (although on an electric grill; not quite as fun as the charcoal grills at New Wonjo), and plenty of seasonings to dip them in; and plenty of romaine lettuce leaves to wrap them in. Our server/griller was very attentive to our requests and service was excellent (although I do agree with other reviewers that you tended to feel a little rushed - likely due to the large numbers of folks waiting for your table!) Nevertheless, a perfect warming meal for a cold night like the one we had (day after Christmas), and great fun people-watching.

What are we doing??

By carl b |

Me and my partner popped in here to try something different as our hotel was just around the corner and as we passed it always looked busy. When we entered the waitress who greeted us did not speak much English but gave us a smile and we were soon seated. The menu had very basic English descriptions so we pointed and hoped for the best! WOW!! what a surprise it was a feast! the dishes kept on coming and a meal for 2 looked like it could feed 4. Would pay this place a visit again.

great korean dishes

By JT8850 |

recommended from hotel I was staying at on 5th Ave. great korean food and all the normal side dishes. can be very crowded, but worth waiting for the bulgogi and short ribs.

Noodle nightmare and tip torment

By Deanna C |

My friend ordered a noodle dish and got in total TWO noodles!! (What a joke) We complained but nothing was done about it. Despite this the food was nice however the service ruined this. We were also waiting for ages for the table to be cleared. We never saw the same waiter twice which was odd. We left about 12% tip which we thought was reasonable considering but as we were leaving we were stopped in the middle of the restaurant (very embarrassing!!) The lady asked why we hadn't tipped more and demanded we added to it, but the amount she was asking for would have taken it up to 25% tip which it was definitely not worth considering our bill was only around $50. Would not go back.

Authentic Korean Food

By Jonathan K |

We decided to try Kunjip for some authentic Korean food prior to a concert at Madison Square Garden. The restaurant was two quick block from the Garden and looked promising, When we arrived we were quickly placed in a line that ascended up to the second floor and told it would be five minutes. At first we were concerned that we will have to endure a long wait and have to rush through our meal. Much to our surprise the hostess was correct and we were whisked off to a table shortly. When we sat down we were quickly greeted and placed our orders once we had a chance to acquaint ourselves with the extensive menu which included items such as ox knees & pig intestine along with many of the traditional noodle bowls and Korean BBQ. To start we ordered the steamed dumplings which were very tender and delicious and Goong Joong Dduk Boki - Pan-Fried Korean rice cake with vegetables and beef. For our entrees our young taste testers Benjamin and Andrew went for Najki Bokum - Pan Fried Octopus and Noodles in a spicy sauce and Andrew had Jap Che - which consisted of Fried Vegetables and beef in a seasoned soy sauce. Tester Robin went for the Jogae Shumgumchi Guk - Bean Paste Soup with shellfish and spinach and I went for the Soon Dae Bokum - Pan fried Korean Spicy sausage with vegetables and spicy sauce. We all were very pleased and shared all these excellent dishes amongst the group. The meal moved along at a good pace so we did not have to worry about missing the show. Take note the food comes to your table when it is ready so our appetizers came once we all had our entrees but that ensured everything was piping hot when it comes to the table. The whole group agreed everything was excellent and Kunjip is a keeper for those who want some good authentic Korean food in Midtown.

Great Korean restaurant in Korea town NYC

By Paul B |

During our stay ( 8 nights) in NYC we went 3 times for dinner to the Kunjip restaurant in 32 Wnd street. Really cosy, very good Korean food and a lots of choice. good prices too. The service is friendly and helpfull. It's typical Korean food and that's why there are a lot of Korean people eating here. For us it was really great.

Great BBQ

By HPol P |

Busy bustling place, the BBQ meat had a good marinade and the aujumoni cooked and cut the meat right there. The side dishes and soup were also tasty. Having tried Korean BBQ in Seoul, LA, Toronto, this is the real deal.

My daughter's favorite.

By Jeannie Lea P |

We had lunch here, everyone in our family enjoyed their meal. My 14 year old daughter said it is here favorite place we ate in NYC.

Very good Korean food

By Kiat Hau G |

Ordered the BBQ thin sliced pork and Kimchi soup, was amazed by the flavor of the kimchi, very well prepared and very authentic flavor. The complimentary appetizer is simply awesome too. The BBQ pork could be better, as it tends to just stick on the pan. Overall, i walked out a happy customer :)

Great food, quick service

By JoolsReading |

We told them we were in a hurry and they didn't disappoint. The food seemed authentic and tasty (although not to my kids taste).

Good first meal of our holiday

By rbears |

We stumbled on this in Korea Town as our usual place had a 2.5 hr waiting time. Surprisingly having arrived at 6.30 on a Saturday, we only had to wait 5 mins to be seating. I think this was more luck than anything else. The service was a little manic, with plenty of staff shouting at each other but efficient. We opted for the meat combo bbq for 2 of pork and beef. As with most Korean BBQs, it didn’t disappointment. Although some of the side dishes were not what we usually have, they still enhanced the BBQ. We did order some steamed dumplings, but wasn’t great, they were cold, tasteless and not worth the effort to eat them. Overall a great find for our first night in the city. TIP: book if possible as when we left at 8pm the queue was out the door.

mixed feelings

By MK330 |

We came for late lunch (230PM) on a Saturday and the place was packed! We got sent up then downstairs ....a bit annoyed frankly.. after we finally sat down, we had to wait (again) for a menu.....food was ok; each table got a free steamed egg which was surprisingly tasty. The bibimbap in hot pot had a nice rice crust, and the accompanying tofu stew was also quite good. We also had the raboki which was large enough to feed three...so food was decent. if only the service could match the food, that would have made a better experience.

Delicious breakfast

By Aaron M |

My wife and I had breakfast here one chilly rainy morning in April. Service was fast and friendly. We both ordered and Yuk Gae Jang (a beef and vegetable stew). Appetizers which came with the meal were brought out quickly and we ordered some delicious tea. The stew was just what we needed on a chilly morning, tasty with a little spice and very filling. We will definitely go again.

Where is the beef???

By Khumsup L |

food tastes good but when order tofu with seafood, that suppose to come with shrimp clam. There is one shrimp tail and no meat. There is not one clam in the hot pot. Where is the meat????... Also, I have order Kimchi with pork on rice. There are three small pieces of pork. Hello... Where is the beef??? Kunjip....

Whirlwind Dining On A Restaurant Conveyer Belt!

By Richard J |

I won't even attempt to explain what we ate except to say that it was (mostly) very good and lots of fun to eat. Crazy to come here on a Saturday night, however I am informed that Kunjip and other Korean eateries like it are often mobbed requiring a short or long wait...but always a wait. We were on line for 25 minutes and were about to leave when a table suddenly appeared. Service is rapid and efficient and one does not feel rushed even though you are definitely 'encouraged' to eat it and beat it so that the 10-20 others can have their turn. The only food complaint was that the pork dish was 50% pork and 50% fat. Otherwise, we were happy with our choices even though I could not for the life of me recall their names. If you love Korean food and are okay with the chaos and speed, try Kunjip and enjoy yourself!

Mega tasty Korean, will definitely return

This was a real treat right in the middle of Koreatown in Manhattan. Everything tasted great and it was plenty of food too. I can't wait to go back the next time I want Korean. Yummy!

Offering decent Korean food

By CHENG S |

Haven’t visited Kunjip Restaurant at Korean Town before. The restaurant offers variety of Korean food and the price is reasonable. The service attitude of the staff is good, and the taste of the food is decent. Compared with the living cost of New York , the cost here is not expensive. Also , you can get a lot of side dishes as long as you order main course.

Above average Korean Food

By Heguang Z |

Had dinner here to celebrate birthday. The food was good and the service was okay . One of the steamed eggs was burned at bottom. Kimchi was good but rest of the bunchan was average.

"Excellent Korean Restaurant in town"

By PMT-76 |

The food taste really good, we try the seafood pancake, bibimbab, Korean BBQ ... The service is fast and friendly. Its open 24 on 24 also all year ... Dont forget to book in advance to avoid to wait, its a busy place.

Do NOT go here at lunch time.

By Karen A |

Extremely disappointed by this restaurant. It was noon and the place was packed, but you would assume a restaurant in NY would be used to this. Apparently not. I got my food quickly, but my companion didn't get food after a half hour wait. The same thing happened to the people next to us and several other diners were complaining also. All the restaurant had to do was let us know there would be a delay and hold ALL food until the entire table could be served. I expected better. We left without my companion eating and went to the Red Mango food court nearby. Very disappointing. If you can't handle the crowd, don't sit them until you can handle it. People will be patient if you communicate with them.

The real deal in NYC

By RyanColSolare |

Kunjip is the real deal! I lived in Korea for a year and traveled throughout the entire country - so I know Korean food, and let me tell you - Kunjip rocks! Everything is traditional and delicious. I got there around 6 so I was able to snag a seat - by 7, there was a line out the door - so go early if you can. I started with the steamed egg in broth - it was fantastic. I got the pork bulgogi - which was perfect. Not fatty like some places tend to serve - this was a good cut of meat. Spicy, delicious. The sides were all the traditional ones (i.e. kimchi, sprouts) but the BONUS was the purple rice! And the lettuce leaves - this is the authentic, traditional way to eat bulgogi but 9/10 places (in the states) won't bring the lettuce.

When in the mood for Korean, Kunjip is your place

By RacFra |

Visited New York City with the goal of making it to a Korean restaurant. After walking past several, I stumbled on Kunjip. Ate twice at Kunjip on a four day trip. Well worth it. Both their regular menu as well as their Korean barbecue were amazing. On a Tuesday night it was the busiest in the neighborhood, but still seating was easy. On Friday night, though, the line literally went down the stairs and out the building. Service was very good, great value for the money, overall great experience.

Awful service

By H4ppyTr4veller |

We were in NYC for 3 nights, and one of the nights we thought to try Korean food. The servers were rude and at best indifferent with “couldn’t care less” kind of attitude. The food was mediocre. Nothing much to add other than it was a total waste of time and money.

Direct and to the point

By Swamo7836 |

authentic but bad service.

By t4tortoise |

authentic Korean fare. but expect a wait during peak times. (they seem to take reservations judging by the question asked by the girl out front, but we were told otherwise. maybe if you speak Korean?) bad service in terms of refilling our tea and replenishing our side dishes (we asked more than 5 times, before successfully getting some replenished.) had the bimibap (good) and the galbi soup (average) didn't try the table BBQ items.

My disappointment from this restaurant

By Зарина Х |

I visited this Korean restaurant in New York and was very disappointed. First of all, the staff were extremely rude. When I said that I did not want to leave a tip, the waiter insisted that we were obligated to do so and, in an indignant tone, asked: “Why won’t you leave a tip?” Such behavior is completely unacceptable. The impression of the food was completely ruined by the service. I will definitely never come back here and do not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Great Korean BBQ in NYC

By Fish_EDI |

There are many Korean BBQ restaurants in NYC, but this one was a very good choice. The staff were very fast at finding us a table, kept us well watered and fed and overall, left us alone to work the table top grill. Some other places take over and don't let you cook your own food, but this place left us alone! I would come back here!

The wrost Korean food in 20 years

By GG_5 |

This is the worst Korean restaurant in this block. I have lived in NYC for 20 years and I believe this is the worst Korean food I've had. The food in the nearby buffet and the Food Court was better than the food of this restaurant. 1. The waitress was coughing inside the restaurant, right next to tables. 2. The steam dumplings were overcooked. Their wraps were mushy and broken. I asked the manager to exchange this soft, pulpy mass with new ones. He didn't see anything wrong with these broken wraps. He said to us this was just the way it was because they (people cook in the kitchen) spooned them out, therefore, there was no way these wraps would not be broken. There are other Korean restaurans in that block serving steam dumplings. None have I eaten ever made mush steam dumplings. 3. Sanche Bibimbob came out as a huge disappointment. This dish looks very nice on the picture menu. However what went inside the dish were romaine lettuce at the bottom, a lump of spicy unknown vegatable hidden between lettuce, and some shredded vegetables. On top of everything was a very cooked fried egg (unlike the soft york egg figured on the picture menu). The rice was in a separate bowel. There was not any hot red sauce. 4. When I walked pass the door to the kitchen to the lady's room, I saw a cockroach running through the floor. 5. When I came in the restaurant, I asked the manager how to get parking discount at the Central Parking on the 32nd street. He explained to me how it worked, so I decided to stay for a meal because I thought I would get a discount on parking for $15. After I finished the meal, I gave the waitress my credit card, she refused to take it and said to me cash only for parking discount. The manager came and said "I didn't say credit." I repied "You didn't say I needed to pay cash, either". He had never mentioned once I had to pay cash in order to receive a stamp on the parking ticket. I ended up paying the bill with my credit card (just so I could leave with my child) and paying the full price on parking for $35.

It's not a bad place but I was a bit surprised at the taste of the soon tofu stew. It was different but can't quite put my finger on it. The rest of the food was ok.

Good Korean BBQ

By Daniel P |

Went here with two other friends, and it was packed. We had to wait on the stairs against the wall, but luckily they found us a table within 3-5 minutes. They had so many choices and options, but we opted for the Korean BBQ. Several small dishes were placed on the table as well, we had no clue what they were but they tasted good! A staff member helped us grill the meats, and she was very friendly. All in all a very fun experience. The food was good, and the atmosphere was enjoyable.

Worst ever

By dimpi |

THE WORST EVER ! Is there a way to give it zero stars? Fine evening with friends turned into a disaster. Bbq chicken was chunks of rubber not fine slivers of marinated chicken. I could go on about other hopeless preparations too but simply, JUST STAY AWAY! Absoltue lover of Korean food, first thing upon my return to Hong Kong had to go to TST for a decent soondbu Jjigae to reinstate my love for it. Thank God!

Excellent restaurant 👍🏻Delicious Food🍜

My sister's friend invited us for dinner and she asked us, "what do you like to eat?" My daughter said that she loves ❤️ Korean culture, so she answered "korean food". So our friend said, "I will take you one of most delicious 😋 food that you ever taste. So she took us to Kunjip restaurant." And we were not disappointed👌🏼

Stopped by around 2pm, not as busy which meant fairly quick service. Got kimchi jiggae and it was very traditional. Comes with fair amount and variety of side dishes.

Good and tasty

By Traveller & foodie expert |

Nice place with great food. Service is ok but not best. Portions are slightly big. They have as well Bbq options, a la carte. For 2 pax / 3 dishes $60

Fast, tasty, piping hot Korean

By licensed2travel |

I'm a big fan of Korean cuisine and this place definitely does it well. They'll pile your table full of free banchan (side dishes) while you wait for the main, regardless of whether you're eating alone or with a group. Prices were very reasonable and their menu features most of the Korean dishes you could want to eat. Favourite - kimchi jjigae and also sundubu jjigae. They do a mean tteok gukk too! Best part: they're open 24/7 - if you're craving Korean at 4am, you know where to go!

My best buddy (my wife!) and I went here with friends. We had a reservation but had to wait a few minutes before being shown to the farthest table in the back room upstairs. We got water and utensils and then we were forgotten. After sitting there a while, one of the women came to our table and told us very brusquely that we had to move to another table. She showed us to a table in the front of the upstairs level, where the decibel level had to be twice as high as the first table. I commented to my wife and friends that it was louder in the restaurant than it was at the Eric Clapton concert the night before at Madison Square Garden! It was really tough to have a conversation, it was that loud. That might have been something to overlook if the food was good, but it was really just average. My wife and I had bibimbob (she, chicken, me, kimchi), and both were more rice than anything else. I left over a lot of rice, after I had picked out all the kimchi. For the table we ordered steamed dumplings which were entirely forgettable. We packed up my wife's leftovers and gave it to a homeless person. From start to finish, it just wasn't a good meal or a good time. We've had better Korean food at other restaurants near this one.

Horrible service

By Vivian |

Came here a couple of months ago and was really good, so I decided to bring my family here when they visited. Made a reservation but found out they didn’t record my reservation and was forced to wait for a seat. However, they served a Korean family who came after us, without even acknowledging our presence. Food was very bland, and the stews and soups had a maximum of 2 pieces of meat. We were served by a second waitress who slammed our food down and constantly gave us an attitude problem. Felt that they didn’t deserve a tip so we tipped slightly below the norm, but the waitress came chasing after us.

Authentic Korean Cuisine

Great spot to share korean bbq with friends. I would suggest to book a table as otherwise you might have to wait to get seated.

Everyday Korean food

By KLWanderer |

This restaurant serves up the usual Korean staple. Food is generally fine, and service is fast and efficient. The menu is rather extensive. Seating is cramped, it generally feels more like a fast food joint than a sit down restaurant.

Poor Customer Service

By jamie h |

Good Korean food and bustling atmosphere. However, a crazy experience with one of the staff members that left me hesitant to ever come back. I was about to leave after signing my receipt and leaving tip as I was told by a staff member that the amount of tip I chose to leave behind was “too low” and I went too far/extreme (“너무 하자나요“) and to instead do one of the suggested gratuities on the receipt. He was also standing in the only way I could exit which made this situation even more stressful and I felt pressured by him to change the amount on the receipt. iMind you he was not my server nor the person who brought me my check to pay.

Not super impressive and the only thing that interested me is the end was the home made ginseng liquors.

By Scott C |

Not super impressive and the only thing that interested me is the end was the home made ginseng liquors. We shared several meats at the grill tables but hardly any vegetables apart from the typical sides. Was decent but nothing that knocked my socks off.

Ok food, unhelpful staff

By Carlypom |

Ate here recently while on our honeymoon in NYC. After waiting to be sat for about 20 mins (which was fine with us) we were sat down. We had ordered our food while in the queue. Within minutes about 12 small dishes were put in front of us with no explanation (I think it was quite obvious We had not eaten in a Korean restaurant before). My husband asked what we were to do with them which got a one word answer. We had ordered the mixed bbq, a member of staff came over and started to cook the food but didn't tell us when it was actually ready to eat so we had to ask again. The food was actually ok once we got to eat it. After asking for the bill which came to approx $100 we paid by card and left a $10 tip, which was immediately returned to us by a member of staff asking for more money as we had only left a 9% tip (which I class as a service charge, and as we had not received good service I felt they did not deserve more than this!). Reluctantly we paid another $5 which I now regret and wish we had just left. Overall I don't think it would take much effort to just provide a little more explanation to people, even asking if they have eaten there before would suffice.

Louzy Service.

By fernandomB5042WJ |

No explanation for the food for a non corean custommer. Service unatentive. When leaving a tip comensurate to the poor service they come back and protest openly and loudly. Tip was mantained of course. Food not exciting.

Delicious, reasonably priced Korean fare

Best Korean food I've had anywhere. Great variety of flavors, particularly the appetizer dishes, which they refilled repeatedly! Excellent service. Excellent value!

1st time Korean BBQ

By sunflower75 |

While this was my first visit for Korean BBQ, I was joined by two friends who love the cuisine. We arrived on a Friday evening without a reservation and found the restaurant crowded, but the wait was reasonable (about 20 minutes). Staff worked to take orders while yo waited so that food was ready quickly once you were seated. As others have said, it can be a bit loud and service may feel a bit rushed, but the food was excellent. What I like about Korean BBQ is that it is a great way to share multiple dishes and get to try quite a number of things. We started with a seafood pancake, then ordered a BBQ combination for two and Bibimbob. It was more than enough for three of us. An enjoyable meal in Koreatown, and someplace I would return.

Authentic Korean in. A small intimate place

Lovely belt spot to dine with outstanding food served. Efficiently in Korea town. You get the whole experience here. With all the. Extras that few places have. Their hot pits are tasty and the meat is excellent. Local alcohol specials complete the meal. A bit noisy and times
