Stayed for a lunch, we had a burger (bad), shepards pie (not good). Service was good though. So, food was nothing special. Just to note, They added 20% tip to the bill automatically. Would not visit again.

We have lived in Hell's Kitchen for years and finally stopped into Landmark Tavern tonight for the first time to have a snack. We only regret not coming sooner. We are hot wing connoisseurs (code for snobs) and these were some of the best wings we've had in NYC. The chef grills the wings briefly before frying, which is part of their secret. The ambiance is nice with white table clothes, 150 year old wood work and friendly team. We will be coming back soon for a full dinner.

This is a great, old fashioned pub!! The staff is very friendly and the owner will go out of his way to make sure you are happy. It has a fun and comfortable atmosphere. The food is excellent and,of course, so are the spirits! Definitely should be a part of every New York City visit!

Exquisite food and very kind and professional staff. Historic place with very suggestive interiors. Walking distance to the intrepid museum equally recommended for young and old.

After a few hours at The Intrepid we planned to visit The Landmark Tavern thanks to the positive views on TripAdvisor. Didn’t disappoint. Service, restaurant and food was perfect. New York is a busy & loud city & they is a gently atmosphere with music playing at a nice volume. I got the bangers and mash, they were delicious. The family got cheese burger, chicken and fish + chips and they also thoroughly enjoyed it too. Owner is from Cork who had a little chat with us. Waiters were great.

The Landmark Tavern is located a bit out of the way on 11th Avenue and 46 Street. The history of the tavern goes back to 1868, and you see and feel that when you enter the premises and look at the floor and ceiling. The Landmark Tavern Ale is recommended, and so are some of the food platters. Attentive and friendly service.

This is a classic American bistro with an Irish inflection that satisfies on many levels. From the brunch omelet to the Bangers & Mash, Lamb shank and even the Asian vegetable spring rolls, the chef here cooks with taste, imagination and authority. The atmosphere is homey and convivial and the waitstaff is cordial and efficient. The front room faces the bar, the back room has a welcoming softly-lit ambience. One caveat: the TV above the bar may discourage conversation; choose the back room if this is what you want. Great for an unpretentious evening, or even a family celebration.

On the recommendation of a local, we popped in to have a beer while our brides got ready for the day. The Landmark is a classic with a tin ceiling and a long, dark brown bar. The bartender was friendly and gave us a good, quick history lesson. I enjoyed the Landmark Ale, my son had the Landmark pilsner, and my daughters had mimosas. I would recommend this as a quiet respite if you are walking along the Hudson River Park, visiting the Intrepid, or taking a Circle Line Cruise. It is quite near the Kimpton Hotel.

I love the Landmark Tavern. I love that they are venturing into fine dining after supporting them for years and years by buying and eating their fish and chips and scotch eggs. To have a fine duck breast dinner served on a white table cloth with beautiful napkins is sublime. And after not being there in many years, returning to see beautiful meals on the menu, like the duck breast was very welcomed....until the live band started. Tell me, why in heavens earth does the owner of this place not listen to its guests? We had a lovely dinner and the 1960's rock music blaring over the subadequate speakers in the dining room was tolerable. But then the owner pays an Irish band to play in the adjacent room at a volume that overtakes the bad speakers with the 1960's rock. All of a sudden at about 8 pm when the Irish band took the 'stage' it was a cacophony of sound that was so horrific and ruined what could have been a fun and lively dinner. We asked the owner to either stop the band (unlikely, since he paid for them) or shut the blaring 1960's rock music off so we could enjoy an upscale meal that they are also paying their new chef to cook. He refused! Yes outright told us no, he wouldn't do it because he wanted the place to sound 'busy'. We were shocked that he subjected his guests to sound torture for another hour. We would have LOVED to just listen to one or the other, but not both competing hardly in the space. But the owner is very pig headed and stubborn and refused to budge. I feel badly for the Irish band and for the chef as this idiot is going to blame one or the other for poor dinner sales performance when its his own stupidity creating the problem. The waitress told us the owner thinks it makes the restaurant and bar seem busier if they have both music sounds blaring at the guests. I'm sorry, but if you have to fill your place with obnoxious, unpleasant competing sounds, you've got a problem. I'm also sorry but if I'm going to pay a higher price for better food, I also want ambiance that makes me want to enjoy the meal. Pass on this place until they change owners.....or he finally listens to the tortured guests.

After walking from Brooklyn en route to Intrepid Museum ,we were going in for a drink "whatever". We were in for a suprise ,great old Irish Bar,good lunchtime Bar menu ,(we just sat at bar) helpful chatty barman and other 'locals' who couldn't believe we had walked from Brooklyn! Food spot on as were drinks. It's a bit off the beaten track for tourists unless you are on the way to or from the Intrepid Sea air and Space museum or the Circle Line Cruises... Both of which I'd recommend as well as coming in here for a drink!

We had brunch there based on its proximity to the Intrepid. The decor and ambiance is a step back in time and is to be enjoyed. The service was warm, attentive and friendly. The food was just ok, but what can you do to screw up or excel making scrambled eggs. Bloody Marys were ok, but nothing to rave about.

Every time we visit NYC, we eat one meal at this restaurant. The staff here are always friendly, and able to answer questions we have whether it's about the food or if we are looking for a drink. We have yet to try something that we don't love, and we enjoy the atmosphere inside.

I thought the staff were absaloutley amazing and i thought the fish and chips were really nice and tasty and i highly recommended it to everyone

Had lunch after visiting the intrepid museum. The food was great and plenty of it. The service was good, decor fine. The burgers cooked properly and the corned beef sandwich huge. Highly recommended

This place is hugely old and full of character. Food is great we of course had bangers and mash (artfully presented) with peas and fish and chips. Tasty stuff washed down with local microbrew ale. Some really old stuff on the walls, wish we had more time to visit with the regulars.

Wonderful Irish pub. Great full strength Guiness. Extremely helpful waitress, great food. So relaxing stayed for a couple of hours.

Visited at dinner time before taking a night cruise around Manhattan. Wait staff was very attentive and service was best we had during our entire week in NYC. Generous cut of steak with mashed potato and vegetables. Cooked to medium well as ordered. Deserts: I had the original cheese cake while wife has a chocolate truffle cheese cake. Mine was very good, she said hers tasted like coffee, which was not what she wanted. Off the beaten path of restaurant row. Worth the extra two blocks of walking. Wait staff really set this place apart from the rest.

Walked by it on my birthday and loved what I saw. I called my friends who were going to meet me for dinner and changed our plans. Come here, I said. Glad we did. True authenticity of an early Irish pub, which at one time was on the edge of the Hudson River. 1868 makes it one of the oldest pubs/eateries in the city. I had delicious fish and chips, one of us had an amazing looking burger, another had the fish special. Everyone loved their entree and the staff was efficient and friendly. I will be back.

Staff were friendly and efficient. Food was decidedly average and beer list surprisingly small and mostly big lable (few craft brews). It was cool and comfortable on a hot day but would be extremely loud when full of patrons. It was an average experience. Not a bad one, but I definitely expected more given the high Trip Advisor traveller ranking. I doubt I’d return again if I was in the area.

Four of us went to the NY Car Show and then an easy walk to the Landmark Tavern. It was our first visit and we were very impressed with the food. Two of us had the Lamb Shank. It was excellent and the accompanying veggies were lightly steamed (perfect). The Landmark is on our list of restaurants to visit again.

Simple but amazing food. Service is great ! Really good after a boat trip as really close of the pier 83. Cosy with a good atmosphere, homemade food.

Very prompt service and seated quickly the bartender knows how to brew Irish coffee and the guiness pour was perfect. The right stop after a long day in the cold.

Came in for a drink. Very friendly staff great history as the place has been in business since 1868. Worth a stop if your in the area.

Great food, the corn soup of today was excellent ....and Lamb as well. Good man behind the bar....always helpful. We have visited two times....every stay was perfect.

Fantastic food. Great service. The staff are very friendly. great prices Highly recommend will be back again

Hot food and cold draft. I had fish and chips very crispy fish and chips (fries) were fresh hand cut and perfect. Price was moderate for NYC. This is located up the street from the Intrepid which was perfect for us as we were staying on W48th. Service was paced nicely and Joseph was very pleasant. We will be back when we return in the spring.

My wife, myself and two daughters dropped in for food after a best of New York cruise…The Landmark was recommended by the crew and then my daughter checked out the online reviews and I have to say it’s the best establishment in NYC we have visited … excellent food, drink and service … we’re here for 10 days and wished we’d known about the Landmark sooner … make sure you stop here for food and drink … we will be back …keep up the good work… five stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Walked here from port authority, 15-20 min. Small bar restaurant. Friendly staff, good burgers and fries, no Harp though.

We found this place thanks to TripAdvisor, 5min walk from the Intrepid. Very friendly staff, cold beer, good and tasty food. Perfect for a brake between the Intrepid tour and the circle lines Cruise. They have kids menu.

We booked the accommodations on the third floor on air bnb and decided to eat dinner at the tavern. Excellent decision. This is truly a historic Irish pub and restaurant which maintains a true New York atmosphere. The pub opened before there was a street there and the third floor was a speak easy during prohibition. The pub's bar, which is original, is made entirely from one tree. The Landmark maintains its history while serving excellent somewhat upscale modern food with great friendly service at reasonable prices. A wonderful experience. I highly recommend the Landmark for lunch, drinks, or dinner.

The last stop on Rory's fascinating Speakeasy Tour (via TellTaleTours.com) was amazing! Lots of stories from the "longest continuously open bar in the country" included its construction--original floors (pic) & original 1 pc bar (pic) along with famous ghost stories too! Good bites to eat with reasonably-priced drinks from an engaging bartender in a cozy old bar was a great way to conclude an evening. If you like old history and good spirits--this is the place you'll want to be!

The tavern is just a few blocks away. Cozy atmosphere. We ordered the fish and chips, corned beef sandwich and bangers and mash. Food was served quickly. Friendly service. Homemade hazelnut ice cream was delicious!

We called here quite late one evening after an evening boat trip. What a super place. Good food, reasonable prices and great service. The landlord was a really nice chap from County Cork, not many Irish pubs in NY with a real Irish host. Would recommend it.

After our Circle Line boat tour this was a short walk on our way back to Midtown. You can tell this place has been around for years and with good reason. Great beer, great food and great service. Definitely hit the spot for all of us!

We've been here many times and have never had a bad meal. The duck and corned beef are excellent and for NYC very reasonably priced. If you enjoy cocktails expect a very good pour. Two minor things that some may have a problem with beer selection and the number of entrees are pretty limited. Other than that you cant go wrong

Great diner experience off the beaten and touristic tracks in busy NY. A very Irish pub style place which is warm and cozy. The staff is highly helpful and kind. The drinks and food offering is very good with the locally brewed beers that are worth tasting. The food is just great with lots of flavor and far from the tasteless plates you can find in touristic places. You get real food and the cherry on the cake is that you feel you have dinner with locals which is priceless and especially because there is a limited number of seats available (better reserving a table by the way). Will definitely be there again.

We visited after a fun tour on Circle Line Tours. The lobster ravioli and fish and chips were so so good and the drinks from the bar were stout.

We stopped in for a pint after taking the Circle Line Tour (also very good). The bar staff was fantastically friendly and accommodating. Would definitely recommend.

We had the best time here! Delicious food, tasty cocktails and great service! Go here of you can! You won’t regret it. Yum

Stumbled upon this gem after visiting the Intrepid. Cozy little bar with several original frameworks. Built in the 1800’s... the roof and floor look great for it’s age. Ordered the fish and chips and grilled pesto chicken wrap. Both were excellent! Fries were great too. If I am ever back near there, would definitely return.

First of all, a crowded place, but with a very good and speedy service. And food was amazing. "Soup du jour" was warm & gentle, very appropriate for a very cold day in NYC. A very complete menu with several options where the Lobster ravioli were outstanding, just like the fresh fish of the day. Wines by the glass made it more interesting to try, not to mention the very good IPA beer pint I drank at the very beginning. Don't miss the Vanilla cheesecake.... delicious. Highly recommendable....

Her for the WKC dog show we wanted somewhere close to our hotel and pier 94 to have dinner. This was a fantastic choice. Our table ordered scotch eggs, bangers and mash, fish and chips and duck. All meals were delivered promptly with a smile and were delicious. Highly reccomend this place !

The Landmark Tavern is a good place to get a drink and relax. It has 1800's history behind it and has the welcoming character newer bars lack. We were on our way to dinner elsewhere, but the food being served to other patrons around us looked so good that we'll have to come back another time to try it.

Great atmosphere. Food good - try the lamb shank. Prices mid range, service very responsive and pleasant. This is a tasty stop with a great traditional vibe and a lively clientele.

We dropped in for lunch after visiting the Intrepid. So glad we did. The service was excellent. The quality of the food was also excellent. Fish and Chips were not crisp and not greasy. Reasonable prices for NYC as well.

It's small, loud, busy, full of happy people eating good food and drinking good beer. When you get down to it, it's what a Tavern is supposed to be.

Fish & Chips was very good, portion was hearty. The L.I. duck breast with Cumberland sauce was exquisite. Atmosphere was very pleasant. Our server was extremely personable though it took awhile to receive our dinners after ordering. Beer pours were full , no 14 ounce pours masquerading as a pint! Pricing was OK, I felt like The Landmark is a good value. I recommend it

We stumbled upon this quaint eatery for a late lunch after a morning cruise down the Hudson River to see the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island then around the bottom of Manhattan and up the East River to catch sight of photograph the Brooklyn Bridge and the and the Manhattan Bridge, the lunch was an absolute delight prices were most reasonable and the food was a delight along with the service, highly recommended, get down to "Hells Kitchen" you will not be disappointed.

First class food and great Guinness , first class atmosphere on St Patrick’s day …. Gourmet burger & Fish & Chips superb ☘️

Before we went to a concert at Terminal 5 down 11th, we had a nice dinner at Landmark. It has a bar ambiance, so a bit loud and definitely not a date night place (well, depends on the date), but the burger and fish and chips were excellent. The service was great too and prices for NYC are super reasonable. It was a perfect spot for a before, or after, concert meal.

I found this restaurant on Trip Advisor and was not disappointed. Great place for lunch after touring the Intrepid. Good food and atmosphere.

I love this area so I went on Saint Patty's day to a place I thought I would get great corned beef and I was not disappointed. In fact it is the best corned beef I have ever eaten. Incredible food! Sourdough toast filled with piles of tender corned beef and a side of crispy fries. I have lived in NY for many years and never have I ever eaten such tender, buttery, yummy corned beef. It was THAT good! I loved it. It was the PERFECT place to enjoy such a fun holiday. I can't wait to go back for their shepherd's pie. Oh! AND ---- it's cheap! $12 for an outstanding sandwich with fries. Very nice place and friendly staff. Everything is clean. Spotless in fact.

About a block and a half from the Intrepid Museum, it's a great place to drop in for a cold one and relax!

Spent several hours at the Star Trek exhibit on the Intrepid. This nice pub is just a block away and a great place to dine and relax after a busy day. The food was very good. We had traditional Irish pub food, Bangers and Mash (sausage & mashed potato/gravy) and fish & chips. Both dishes were delicious and nicely served by an attentive & jovial staff. Try the Landmark Ale, a nice light ale that is mild and not bitter. A great place if you are looking to eat after a day at one of the attractions on the Hudson River.

We came across this bar by accident and so glad we did! The landlord was such a great guy and the food and drinks were amazing! Would def recommend the sausage and mash and salmon!

The Landmark takes you back to the 19th Century NYC. It is easy to get there from Midtown. One Block away from 12th street and the Hudson River Harbor. Two blocks from US Navy carrier Intrepid. The exterior looks like it did in 1858. The interior is very warm and cozy. The Corn Beef and cabbage and fish and chips was excellent. The waitress who served us made us feel at home. The pictures of the Landmark on the wall shows you how the city has changed. Worth the visit.

This tavern is so wonderful that we had lunch there twice. Service was terrific and so was the food. Our favorite dish was the smoked Scottish salmon salad. At $13, it was an amazing deal because the very generous serving of salmon on the salad would cost much more than that if I were to purchase it in my grocery store. Also, the greens were tender, fresh and delicious. There were some fine beers on tap.

Nothing to say: everything was to our expectations. Service, food quality, taste etc. Bread with dry fruits, shepherd's pie portion very big. Thank you!

The place is very good. We sat at the table where bar is and it can be noisy but we were ok with that. It is typical bar place. Burger is around 15-20 $, steak almost 30. Both were good, but we asked medium rare and got almost well done. Fish and chips were fine. Portions are big.

Stopped in for an appetizer and dessert. Highly recommend the scotch egg, well seasoned and enjoyed the salad it came with. The desserts were also very delicious. Our server, Pratap was knowledgeable about the menu and very friendly and welcoming. Will come back here again next time we're in town.

Found this restaurant through Google Maps when we were at the waterfront buying tickets for the Circle Line. I had a corned beef sandwich which was top-notch. I corn my own beef and this was much better. The sandwich had thick slabs of succulent, tender beef instead of thin slices of chewy beef. At the end of the Circle Line tour, the guide recommended this tavern. We liked it so much we walked down from the Marriott that night and had dinner. They have Landmark Lager that is very good. I did not try the Landmark Ale. My husband had Guinness at lunch and the lager for dinner. We sat at the bar both times and met a family from our home town!

late lunch after touring the Enterprise museum. Delicious! Bangers and mash, with fresh mashed potatoes and plenty of delicious gravy. A chicken Ceasar salad with perfectly cooked, tender chicken. Excellent service, reasonable prices. Will be back on our next visit to NY.

Went for lunch after a Circle Line Cruise as recommended by the tour guide. My son had fish & chips and I had a lobster ravioli. The place is so old and interesting, you can almost imagine the grand history there. Loved it!

Very nice place with good service, authentic place with good food. One of the oldest restaurants in New York. We will be back

By far the best salmon I have eaten. Large portions cooked to perfection. Sides were delicious also. Service was outstanding in the neighborhood Irish pub

The Landmark Tavern was recommended to us by the circle line cruises tour guide. We went for dinner and had a great meal. The staff are friendly, service is quick, good food & reasonable prices. Would recommend

Great food! We spilled the Ravioli from Lagosta and a fried shrimp salad, a delight. Excellent service. The Guiness beer is great, I recommend!

Was here with my wife. Food was nice, beer was nice :-) my recommendation after seeing Intrepid museum

We where staying at a hotel close by and after a few days in N.Y. we wanted something good genuine to a normal price. Talk about LUCK 200 m from the hotel we had Landmark tavern. The food was good as the wine and beer. Service was good and the price was for N.Y. almost cheap. We really like it. That if you like the English Irish still of establishment .

Visited here on our trip to NYC after researching irish bars in the area. We were delighted to find that the landmark tavern hosts a traditional music session every Monday. We ventured along and were not disappointed. Music was authentic and genuine. The musicians actually mentioned that usually there would be more of them so I imagine some Monday’s it is even better. Staff were friendly and attentive. We had the westside lady baileys cocktails which were simply delicious and we will be trying to recreate back home! Overall a great spot, off the beaten path away from the tourist hype. We would definitely return if back in NYC.

The restaurant was not full and the waitress sat us by the bathroom and kitchen. She never refilled our drinks. Food was pretty good.

Great find. It’s out of the way a bit on 11th at 46th but a great little lunch away from the masses. If you’re seeing the Intrepid, it’s just a block away so it’s perfect. Highly recommend this historic spot with great small town feeling service.

I had a great corned beef sandwich which came with a nice cole slaw (great flavor and no soupy dressing). French fries which were slightly over done. It was on nicely toasted buttery bread. My wife had a cheeseburger. Large, tasty roll and all the fixings. Tablecloths on the tables, regulars on the bar stools. Extensive beer menu. We were there for a late lunch. The place really filled up as we ate.

My family and I went to take a break at the Tavern and the food was better than expected but did take a little longer than expected. But I guess they can trade off lol. Recommend going for lunch or a quick bite.

Excellent food, friendly staff. Pub and Restaurant has a great atmosphere Clearly a very popular place as it was full of locals and regulars

We came to lunch in this Irish tavern on our way out of our Hudson River cruise. It was initially not planned, but we looked for a place to eat and came across it because not far from the Pier where we moored. Despite the late hour, the restaurant was almost empty, but it filled up a little later, around 2 p.m. For my part, I chose the lamb shank accompanied by a Guinness and then an Irish Coffee. It was good and typical, the service efficient, the rating very correct, we spent a pleasant time in this tavern and we teleported to Ireland for a moment.

I was looking for a restaurant, for New Year's eve dinner near the Circle line pier. Where my wife and I were heading out later to celebrate bringing in 2017 with fireworks. Wow! what a great place, food was excellent, the staff and the atmosphere was fun and relaxed at the same time. Outside! the area isn't the best, but once inside the cozy pub you step back in time (dates from the 1880's). Both my wife and I had Scallops for starters, followed by succulent duck breast for myself and too much juicy lamb shank for my wife, served with crisp vegetables. Service was not rushed, the food was hot with excellent wine you can afford. We were invited back after our midnight cruise around 1 am, to sample beers and a few spirits and carry on the celebrations. Great place for our first New years eve in New York, far from the madness of Times Square.

I have been going to the Landmark for many years. It is a regular stop on my annual visit to the Jacob Javits center. Year after year I have enjoyed their house ale and comforting plate of classic Irish pub food. This last visit I had their special, which was grouper, and it was excellent. The Landmark is a great place for a relaxing lunch/dinner with friends or clients, or just a good place to stop and have a pint.

Just toured the USS Intrepid and was hungry. SW this place and decided to stop. Had to eat at bar, but made some new NYC friends. Fantastic drinks and food was wonderful. So glad we stopped. If ever back and in Hells Kitchen, will eat there again.

We had a lovely drink and bite to eat here. Good service, friendly atmosphere and fantastic value for money. I'd recommend Landmark Tavern.

Food was ok, burger was overdone, fries tasted a bit burnt. Staff friendly and helpful and lovely people. Beware though that they add into your bill total a 20% service charge. For this reason alone would not return, disappointing.

We visited after a trip to Intrepid. After a week of disappointing, overpriced meals in New York, this place was a real breath of fresh air. We got a warm welcome, good service, good food all at a reasonable price. Highly recommended!

We took our grandson to The Landmark for lunch which was delicious! The tavern was built in 1868 and proved to be a good history lesson. Seeing the tin ceilings, the old bar and light fixtures and hearing about the family that lived above the tavern was super interesting. Menu offered a variety of food including Shepard's Pie, bangers & mash, ravioli, salads.

My wife and I stopped in for lunch at the Landmark Tavern while our room at the Kimpton Ink48 was being prepared. You can feel the history of the Landmark as soon as you walk through the door. Our bartender, Tommy, couldn't have been more friendly. The food was excellent (I especially liked the bangers and mash), the Guinness was perfect, and the prices were reasonable. Just a classic, historic pub. Thanks for your hospitality, Tommy. We'll be back!

Went to this restaurant twice and both times it was very nice! I had the fish and chips both times as the menu was pretty small and I probably wouldn’t eat the other things but that’s just me :) The waitress was nice but I did get water spilt on me but I guess accidents happen. Overall, I’d recommend this restaurant:)

1868 Irish Tavern ambiance with sport TVs, great corned beef sandwiches and Abe the best transplanted Quebecer bartender in the world! A fun and relaxing place to experience.

Went recently with friends who love this place and I can see why. It truly is an old school tavern with dark wood everywhere, a beautiful old school bar, and great food & drinks. The staff is warm & friendly. Look forward to my next visit.

We have visited Landmark Tavern with full family after the intrepid museum. Some hungry, some waiting for different tastes. Ordered steak, french fries, beers (finally big ones) and some cheesecake (served with ice cream). Everything was delicious. At the end we have ended quite full. One minus is that beer is 10 dollars but big one at the end so comparable to other places. Tip was added 20% as default .

Looking for a great little tavern on the corner.... well this is the place. Great atmosphere and food. Gotta try there shepherds pie! And there landmark ale was fresh and awesome. All and all great place! Thank you landmark tavern!

The decor is vintage NY saloon. Lots of wood. Comfortable seats at the bar. The type of place that regulars have frequented for years. We settled in for some draft beers. We followed that with a burger & fries + fish & chips. Food & beer were solid & satisfying. Service from behind the bar was first rate (well, he is Canadian). He was polished, entertaining & took care of our needs. Fellow patrons are very friendly (they bought us drinks). It's a very convivial place.

Located in Hells Kitchen, just one block from the Intrepid, the cruise ship terminal, the Kimpton Ink48 hotel, and the West Gotham Market at 626 11th Ave (corner 46th St), the only thing this has against it is the lack of a metro station nearby. Considered the oldest (?) Irish pub in NY, the Landmark tavern has a great long wooden bar with a reasonable selection of beers on tap (incl. nitro Guinness) and a full liquor range, plus about a dozen tables for food service. The tables were surprisingly covered in tablecloths, giving a slightly higher quality air to the place. With a broad range of 'recommended' stickers on the windows from Zagat, TripAdvisor and Michelin (though some a few years old), we started to have high hopes that we'd stumbled on an above average place. Service was prompt and friendly, and the food exceeded expectations while staying true to its Irish Pub roots. Sample prices: Guinness: $8 per pint. Fish and Chips - $17; Irish Bangers & mash w/ peas and gravy - $15; Corned Beef sandwich - $10.50. Overall: HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for well priced pub food in the HK area - nothing fancy, but honest and authentic. (IF you find this review helpful please click "Thanks" - it helps me know people read these since I take the time to be more detailed)

This place is awesome. The décor is heavy and dark, and you can feel the history as soon as you walk through the door. We had lunch, and the food and service were both very good.

One of my absolute favorite pubs in NYC. I've been there numerous times and all the food is first rate. Staff is friendly and pleasant. I really love sitting at the great bar they have as I always seem to run in some colorful character to talk with. This place is also nice because it's away from the huge crowds around Times Square but close enough in walking distance to be worth the trip.

The sign of a good Guiness is measured by the time you have wait and the quality of the head. Landmark Tavern is one of those pubs that you would probably pass by but if you go in it is truly a welcome place. The friendly publican here knows how to pour a good Guiness and serve at just the right temperature. Ordered some freshly made chips (aka French fries but can't think why they're called that), served with garlic mayo - hit the spot after a long day at the Javitts.

There's nothing to dislike about this traditional pub. Good beer, a warm atmosphere and a super landlord, Michael.

Not very crowded this lunch, very fast service, very good gourmet burger, small menu for almost all tastes. Please note opening noon, not 3pm.

our guide on the circle line recommended this restaurant, and we loved it. great atmosphere, and the food was great as well.

Absolutely disgusted with the bar service from the 2 guys who clearly thought it amusing to scam tourists. On our 2nd visit to the bar and when we challenged the $10 increase in price for exactly the same drinks as the last visit we were told some cock n bull story about tax and the fact the bartender did not know us!! Ridiculous, but we saw they had a good laugh about making extra from us. Its such a shame as we never got to eat there due to that experience Tourists avoid at all costs

We had a cheeseburger and a shrimp salad. A place like this should be able to “nail” a burger - instead it was a 6 out of 10. The shrimp dish, which is more ambitious, was worse. The place does have some local flavor, so maybe it’s a place for drinks and not food. The service was OK.

We called in for lunch after a trip to USS Intrepid. The waiter was downright rude from the start, we nearly walked out but the reviews on here are solid so we decided the food must be worth the pain. Nope not really, it was OK. That is all I can say no highlights, just average pub food at best. Our waiter was appalling, we had to chase drinks, we were not offered bread or any assistance with the menu, we had to ask for the desert menu and then waiter never came back for the order. I ended up taking the desert menu to the bar and asking for the check, I am then passed the bill and told 20% service charge has been automatically added. I don't think so!!! I am then told the waiter had been taken ill! Sorry to hear that but I should not have to be the one coming to find that out. Not sure where the reviews come from on here, I would not waste your time. There are much better places within walking distance.

A traditional pub with live music on a Monday night. The food is a step above pub grub. Very friendly atmosphere, you are welcome to join in with the music.

Went with the family for lunch before we went to the Intrepid Museum. Food was good and quick service. Kids easily found food they liked - burgers, chicken fingers, and I had a steak wrap. My wife was thrilled when they brought over malt vinegar.

Fantastic staff, excellent food and absolutely fair prices. Great selection of beers, I local is Irish style and well worth a visit.

My husband and I decided to make the trek a few blocks out of way and try the Landmark tavern and boy are we glad we did. Great atmosphere, staff and food. I had the sirloin steak medium rare and my husband the bangers and mash. Everything was cooked to perfection and delicious. The only thing we didn't get was bread with our meal, but I need to lay off the carbs after all the Christmas cookies, so no big deal. I'd go back again in a heartbeat!

Stopped here for a couple of drinks while waiting for a trip to start, an excellent bar with the barman very friendly and helpful. It was reasonably priced. It’s in great area of New York, Hell’s Kitchen

We only went in for drinks but the meals being served looked well cooked, generous sizes and a vast range of both alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks. We sat at the bar and served by very friendy staff. Compared with UK prices, a bit more expensive especially with tax and tips to be added. Very nice atmosphere.

Tavern was in walking distance from Pier 81. The staff was very friendly and the food was great! Highly recommend this place!

Made reservations for Thanksgiving 2 weeks in advance. When my friends and I arrived, there were no tables available and after waiting with no one attending to us, they put us upstairs where there was one other couple at a small table. The room was dark, unappealing and appeared not to be ready for any customers compared to the main room which was decorated and lively with people celebrating the holiday. Extremely disappointing and irresponsible on the part of management who it seemed overbooked. To add, the appetizer of "pan seared shrimp" was a salad with 3 shrimps which were not pan seared and dry turkey for the main course. It should be noted that no one checked for vaccination status which is mandated for all indoor dining. A Thanksgiving to forget!

Very comfortable Pub that takes step back in history. Bartenders are knowledgeable about history of the building and area (i.e. Abe Lincoln).

Having traveled extensively during the recent years, I was pleasantly surprised to find such an authentic gem in New York City. “The Landmark Tavern” boasts dishes teeming with the freshness of ingredients, each evoking the rich flavors of the countryside. The commitment to home preparation is evident and commendable. Yet, what truly elevates this establishment is the staff. Their genuine courtesy and hospitality mirror the warmth and welcoming spirit found in a traditional home. This tavern is a must-visit for anyone seeking a slice of Ireland in the Big Apple.

I came here with my boyfriend after we visited the Intrepid museum. We had a few drinks and a small bite to eat. The Wings are amazing. The owner of the pub Donnacha was so welcoming, polite and chatty and his colleague Kevin was so helpful. I would highly recommend this place for a visit.

This little historical stop has great food and great service, not to mention it’s cozy, welcoming environment! Loved it.

This place is the real deal! Five blocks south of The Daily Show taping and it was NOT crowded tonight, although one day after Valentine Day. Our waiter Cole was the best ever and his recomendation of the authentic Irish items Bangers and Mash and Shephards Pie would NOT hve been my choice but based upon his direction we ordered both and they was fantastic. Had two appetizers, a soup and salad then split the two entres fr four of us and it was plenty, entire bill was $137.00 with three drinks! Oldest continually operating restaurant in NYC, I think you will LOVE IT, WE Did!

5 stars We visited here after being to the Intrepid museum and waiting for our time slot to do a evening river cruise . Perfect location ,fantastic cocktails, food was very tasty with big portions and bar staff were friendly ! Everything was reasonably priced too ! Highly recommend to anyone visiting NY !!

Waked in without a reservation, and it was no problem. The service was on point and the atmosphere was so comfortable as soon as we were seated. I would say it was a perfect evening just to talk and enjoy a good meal and this place was the right place. I really enjoyed the meal and the wine as well. We will be back.

Saw this on the way to Intrepid and promised my husband we would stop afterwards as he wanted a "Luke Cage" bar in Hell's kitchen... Very happy husband, beer served in proper English pint glasses and Fries (or Chips if your British) that tasted just like my granddad used to make. To top it all off the staff were really friendly and chatty. If my husband had his way we would have spent all 3 days sat in this bar!

We stopped of here for an Irish coffee. It was lovely. Although I didn't eat people in my group did and the food looked amazing.

I had fish and chips, it was ok- not very good or great. The atmosphere is old tavern, the wait staff was nice. It was a super hot day and I would say the place was warm. I wouldn't go back.

Do not get near this place!! Racist && Rude!! We were a family of four, we got into the restaurant, which was empty, ordered steaks and waited... We got them after 30 minutes, the steak were well done, despite the fact that we asked for medium. We told the waitress very politely that the steaks are over cooked, and she called the owner. He took two of the plates back to the kitchen (two of us ate anyway because we were too hungry). After 30 more minutes we asked about the other two steaks and the owner said " NO! the chef said no!" (We waited for over an hour since we got in, and he never said we are not going to get replacement...) We asked if we can order something else, and the answer was "the chef won't cook anything for you!". We were very insulted, we paid and left the place quitely. I can't believe places like that still exist

The food was very tasty, but the difference was in the service. I cannot recall having such an attentive yet unintrusive waitress taking care of us - and responding to anything we asked in a timely manner. Thank you Nancy!

I visited the Landmark Tavern on recommendation of the commentator on the Circle Line Night cruise. The tavern is about a ten minute walk from the Circle Line terminal. The food was hot, good size portions and arrived fairly quickly. The meal started with the service bringing a basket of bread to the table. The bread was fresh and plentiful. I had a beer which was nice and refreshing. I started with a starter of spring rolls which was large with about ten spring rolls plus soy sauce and sweet chilli, yum!. I then had Fish and Chips which included two pieces of fish (rare in NYC) and Chips. The chips could have been better. The salad was nice. The service was friendly.

We visited on the way to the Intrepid Museum. We ate at the bar. Pretty small crowd, bue we were a little early. Nice bartender. Nice wine pour. We had the Fish and Chips ( very average but a nice portion) and the Shepherd's Pie (out of this world good). The place is old but very presentable and worth a visit.

So, highly rated, looked good. Great atmos, FABULOUS service. My friend's chicken pasta dish was so overly salted, it was inedible. My veggie wrap was BORING. No zing, no taste. The menu was limited. I guess I should've gone with the shepherd's pie.

The ambiance is fantastic and the food is ok, not great. The bartender is very friendly as is the wait staff. The food is fine, if a bit half-hearted.

Had dinner with family on a Wednesday night in NYC. Loads of atmosphere and old NY charm. Tables both around the bar and in a nice, quiet dining room in the back. The 7 of us each had something different and everyone enjoyed their meal. Basic fare..but well prepared and extremely pleasant and competent service. Pleasantly surprised at the reasonable prices in an area that has seen sky rocketing prices of late. Near the Intrepid...a great casual spot ... do not hesitate to try it...from shepherds pie to duck and sirloin steaks....meals are delicious and portions are ample....this is a very nice place...well worth a vist...

This appears to be your typical irish pub with irish fare. The food is pricey and the drinks are even pricier if you are used to midwest prices. I'm sure by New York standards this place is considered lower priced. The service was great. The food was awesome and the portions were large. It's a casual place with a higher standard of service and food. Best fish and chips I have ever had.

The restaurant is unable to accept phone payment from international cardholders. We were only informed of this situation when we went to settle the bill. Since none of us had our physical Visa cards with us, we had to return to the hotel to retrieve one. The restaurant employee insisted that one of us leave a phone as collateral to ensure our return, as he could not take our word for it. He kindly explained this was a regular occurrence and recently a party of 6 did not return to pay .This unexpected situation disrupted our day and derailed our plans. We believe we should have been notified of this upon our arrival to the restaurant.

Such a lovely atmosphere, staff were brilliant and the food was absolutely fantastic! Would definitely return if back in New York!!

Late as this is, I want to thank the staff for their extraordinary kindness to my husband, who had Alzheimer's Disease. We had a delicious lunch, but when it was time to leave, my husband became convinced that we had not paid our bill. It took at least half an hour for various staff members to reassure him that everything was in order. They treated us with the utmost patience, sensitivity, and respect. I will be forever grateful.

My wife, my friend and I visited this restaurant after spending most of the day at the Intrepid air and space museum. We arrived for a late lunch around ~ 2:30PM. Hungry and Thirsty, I was really hoping it would be a good a experience. We lucked out……..it was very good. Warm and friendly atmosphere, especially on a cold April afternoon, our experience was very good - excellent. Dark wood walls & tables it provides an old & established “feel” kind of like “Cheers”. I had the fish of the day (grilled salmon with a salad & rice; My wife had the Chicken Quesadilla and my friend had a cheese burger. Everyone thought their meal was cooked perfectly, and our server “Abe” was so nice and very attentive. Always keeping an eye on us from afar, without hovering. (I remember him because he thanked me 3x’s for his tip) This place is on 11th ave,, so as we headed east from the river I was concerned we would not have many good choices. I’m so glad we choose this one. I would visit again without hesitation. This was probably the best pub visited during our 3 day trip to NYC. They had about 8 beers on tap, with many others in bottle. Lastly: The manager (did not get his name) seemed to be present somewhere in the room most of the time…….and I noticed on this trip that those restaurants where the managers worked WITH their staff to provide their patrons with a good experience usually succeeded. High-end lunch (similar to dinner) with beer and drinks for 3 was $76 before tip. (Not bad for NYC)

Enjoyed the food more than I expected. Very simple Irish food but superbly prepared. Had a few drinks at the bar before moving onto dinner in the restaurant.

We happened upon this delightful spot after touring the Intrepid. We were hungry for good food and were not disappointed. I had a Franziskaner draft and a cheeseburger, while cooked to well, when I asked for medium, it was well seasoned and had a good flavor on a nice hard roll. My wife had the grilled chicken wrap, I ate 1/2 of it and really liked it. It was a nice balance of pesto and mozzarella to chicken. The side salad wase nicely dressed. This was a seriously nice find, it was charming to walk into one of the oldest continually run bars in NYC and find great draft beer and food at an affordable for NYC price. The service was outstanding as well.

This place was recommended by our tour guide on the Circle Line tour (Tony). We had lunch here and it was very good. The Irish owner spent some time talking to us and that was very enjoyable. Great place.

Friendly bar with very reasonable drinks and food. A great watering hole after a visit to the Intrepid. Excellent burger and very cold beer.

If you want to experience a genuine bar/eatery frequented by locals and that is rich with history and off the tourist map, then this is the place. Inside is a warm New York welcome with a wide variety of drinks and lots of good choices on the menu. I would definitely return should I ever visit Midtown New York again.

This place is so old that it used to be on the water, before they built a whole other avenue! It's over 100 years old and has a lot of the cool things that go with that historic building. The food is excellent, and one of the best Sheppard pies I've ever had! Classic spot that will not disappoint.

Such an amazing Irish tavern ! It was so good the first time that we ate here 3 times during our week stay in New York. I would suggest it to anyone ! Big beer selection, you can get a coffee in a mug and not in a stupid paper cup like in Starbucks. Table presentation is sublime, waiters are well-mannered and the owner was super nice ! If you want to eat some real food, reasonable prices (maybe even too cheap), big portions, more vegetables than the average in New York, come here. The bread there is really good (raisin bread). There is even a vegan option ! I could go on forever at how amazing this place is ! Keep up the good work!! Thanks again for the amazing meals.

This is my go-to with out of town guests. They consistently love the experience! The food ranges good to great, the only exception is the vegan offering. I've had a vegan meal here 3 times, they get a "A" for trying, but need improvement. My guests from the UK get a great kick out of the food and atmosphere. This is the perfect place for a meal if you are headed to the Intrepid or a cruise. Just beware. This is not fast food. The wait can be a bit longer than some other places. Enjoy a beer while you're waiting. I allow 1.5 hours for an early dinner before the Evening Harbor Cruise. Less time is cutting it very close.

Had lunch there today. Nice surroundings and a good staff. I ordered the fish & chips. The fish was not white at all and the chips were too soft. I have had numerous different types of that dish worldwide and I always look for the color of the fish. It shall be all white. And my dish did not taste good at all. It might have been an unlucky day for the chef, but the fish must be checked out good. So have that in mind if you are thinking of ordering it. Better check out something different on the menu. The salad was good and tasty though.

I had breakfast and my husband had fish and chips, it was absolutely delicious, we had a couple of beers too and trying new beers was great, top service and awesome music just topped off the meal.

terrific tavern. the food was basic but quite good. the back room was a little noisy, but that had to to with some rowdy patrons. good value for good food. the beer was great. my cocktail was not great. i guess you should always understand where you are dining and expect accordingly!

Great bar, friendly staff, great bartenders. Visited when Donncha had it when I visited, he may still. Lovely guy and helped us with any questions we had about the city. Visit this place if you are in midtown. Non of the downtown crap.

We set at the bar for lunch. The bartender was not particularly attentive to patrons and paid attention to the football game. Had to ask to refill the water and etc, even though he was standing four feet from us doing nothing. Fish from "fish and chips" was good, but chips were French fries and not the proper pub chips. The bread basket was good

Built in 1868. (In the 70's/80's used to be in a location where people solicited prostitutes--but that's just an aside from a native NYer. Once a cab driver delivered me here thinking I was a prostituite myself. How's business, he said. But now the neighborhood is well developed as is practically every inch of Manhattan.) I enjoy going here because I love the flavor and architecture of Old New York and I enjoy a good burger.

After visiting the Intrepid we found this pub just a block away. Lovley service good Irish food well worth a visit.

Amazing food. Amazing staff. Had a traditional Thanksgiving meal here. Everything was perfect! The ambiance was cozy. Martinis were out of this world! Check it out. I promise you won't be disappointed.

We went to the Landmark Tavern for their Monday night Irish Session. There was a good turnout - 8 musicians. They played and sang a lot of very good tunes - good quality performances. And the service for beers was friendly & efficient. A fun night out.

This pub is a bit off the beaten path but it's worth it. Historic Irish bar/building with delicious food/drink and a welcoming staff. Will definitely visit again.

My first visit was 45 years ago. Still a favorite. Opened in 1868. Good food at reasonable prices. Comfortable atmosphere with good service.

One block from the INTREPID Museum. We had a late lunch. There were 4 Adults and two small children and we all had a good lunch. The staff was very attentive and extremely courteous. They paid attention to the little things, refilling the bread and water promptly. The beer and wine lists were also ample. I would definitely go back. The costs were very reasonable too.

NYC food may be a bit pricier than many places, but the Steak Cheddar wrap here was worth every penny. Everyone at dinner heartily agreed on the great quality of food and the waitstaff were very nice.

Came here for lunch on our way out. Food is good. Bartender is great and attentive. Draws both a local crowd and tourists.

Historic place with a cool vibe. Stopped for lunch. My date had the corned beef sandwich and the Landmark ale. He liked both of his choices. He also liked their coleslaw. I opted for the chicken avocado sandwich. Chicken was overdone and difficult to chew. The fries were the best. The diet coke comes out of the gun--didn't taste remotely like a diet coke.

Great food. Cold Guinness. AC works on a hot sunny day. Yankees are on tv. What else could you ask for?

Visited here on our way back from the Intrepid and had planned to stop here as it's one of the oldest pubs in New York. Lots of tables in the restaurant but the bar was quite busy. Tried the Landmark Tavern ale and Landmark lager - both were very good and barman very friendly.

Came here after visiting the Intrepid museum. If you enjoy a good burger or European and Irish style dishes the this restaurant is worth a visit. It was busy when we went but that did not stress the staff. Our waiter was from Nepal and the manager is from Co. Tipperary , Ireland. We were made feel welcome and the food was excellent.

We checked out this historic, old tavern after visiting the Intrepid museum. Love the history in the walls. The bartender explained that much of the building and tavern had original pieces (i.e. The bar, ceiling, etc) from the 1800's. He explained that the upper floor had been an original speakeasy. He also told us that the Tavern (located on 10th Ave) was originally waterfront property! We had a bite of lunch and some beer. I found the Tavern Ale beer to be tasty and refreshing. Definitely worth a visit. They had tables where families were dining.

My friend and I loved our meal at Landmark! The wings and fish and chips are very good. Everyone there is super friendly and helpful. Great drinks. Great Irish pub close to the Hudson River and Kimpton Ink 48.

Eating at the Landmark Tavern was an awesome and unexpected treat! Our party of 4 had delicious, authentic Irish dishes-bangers and mash, fish and chips, corn beef and cabbage and shepherds pie. All were fresh, hot and yummy. The 1868 building is quaint with the white table service. Other non-Irish foods on menu, we selected based on theme of spot. Highly recommend a visit!

The Landmark tavern is a step back in time, but in a modern way, with hospitable hosts, helpful waitstaff, classic old New York atmosphere and great food. We had Landmark Lager ( excellent) the mahi mahi special, fish and chips, bangers and mash, and shepherds pie. All great! 15 minute walk to our broadway show.

We found this little gem as we were walking back to the hotel from the Intrepid air and space museum. We sat at the bar and had some beer. The bangers and masks were wonderful. The place is historic and definitely Irish. We really enjoyed it and would recommend.

We came upon the Landmark while walking back from the waterfront. What a lucky find! The place has been open since 1868 and, according to the bartender, a lot of the interior has not been changed since then, The staff was very friendly. We had a couple great martinis at the bar then decided to stay for dinner, I had a Long Island duck breast and my wife had the lamb shank. We were both delighted. We enjoyed it so much we came back again the next day.

We popped in this lovely bar for lunch the bar man was very friendly, it’s a nice Irish ☘️ bar with many drinks to choose from and a great selection of ales, the food is outstanding I have the Irish breakfast washed down with some fines ales, one thing they put on a service charge.

We loved this no-nonsense old pub just walking distance from Times Square. Big portions of great food. The server was super sweet. I highly recommend this place if you want good food at a good price with no shenanigans. Great pub!!
Great pub, convenient location, great bartenders
Stopped here for a pint after touring the Intrepid Museum. Excellet, old-style pub, fantastic bartenders, great pints, convenient location, lots of locals there. We wish we had a pub like this at home. We will definitely return!
