Probably the best pickles. They have all kinds here and they are homemade, great quality and a friendly staff. If there is something you are not sure about, you can sample it. If it is pickes, you can probably get it here from mango, pineapple, carrot, garlic just to name a few.

Great folks working here with an excellent selection of all things pickled. Aside from the half sour pickles, my second favorite is the pickled pineapples - the perfect balance of sweet and sour. One of my top places to visit in the LES.

Soooo worth the stop here. They run a tight ship and will get you your orders fast. Make sure you have an idea of what you want before going in as it can get crowded / busy, but staff is super helpful and will let you try before you buy.

The guys working here are awesome! So helpful when deciding what to get. I love the kalamata olives, but the bread & butter and half sour pickles are amazing too! Such a cool atmosphere. Definitely stop here if you are in the area!

I get a shipment a couple times a year. Always get the Hot Sour pickles. Also get jalapeno olives, garlic olives, pickled carrots. If you love pickles this is the place to go.

Moved to a new location across the street on 357 Grand Street. Larger store and more product, easier for you to walk in and look! Great products made on premises! Highly recommended

Whilst not everyone's cup of tea.....this is a quintessential NYC experience. The owner is a real charact..... who would have thought that pickled Pineapple or Mango would be so appealing. Dozens of barrels filled with various pickles...garlic, mushrooms, beans, cucumbers.... and they'll even let you do some taste testing. Gaurantee you will walk away with something yummy !

This place has great pickled products! At first when you walk in, everything looks very old fashioned.. Pickled products are all in barrels and for a second I feel like I went back in time to the 80s. The staff were very friendly and I was able to try the mango, pineapple and a few other products before i settled on a quart of mango. Their spicy pickle is also one of the best i've ever tried!

If on a Lower East Side food tour, this is a must stop. Go for the full sour! So good. Service and the locals were very friendly.

So you want a pickle! This is the place of your dreams. From quarter sour to sour, and spicy hot as well. Hot peppers, sweet peppers, okra, carrots, tomatoes, even pineapple and mango. If this is your first visit you might want to check the website beforehand so you'll be prepared to get what you want right out of the barrel.

The last of many pickle places on the Lower East Side. Pickles, pickled tomatoes and many other great items right out of the barrel.

because, When we leave Lower East Side to go out of town to visit friends, we also take a lot of special treats from here.

I love this place. Pickles from the barrel like it used to be, reminds me of the old lower east side. The place is not fancy but they had a nice selection of pickled items. The person serving let me sample and was very nice and helpful.

This place has the best pickles I've ever tasted! There was a line outside the door and now I understand why. They have several barrels fulls of a variety of pickles, veggies, olives and all kinds of yummy goodies. I ordered the sour pickle, it came in a plastic bag and it was a buck. Best buck I've spent and I wish I had one right now!

The guys who work here are fun and can pull your order together in no time flat. There are interesting pickles to choose from, from standard dills to pickled mango. It's definitely worth a visit!

Everything here is pickled - from cucumbers to pineapples (and everything in between). Bought some pickle-themes merch whilst there too. Liked their traditional sour pickle best (half-sour pickles are also available).

We stop by The Pickle Guys every trip to NYC. The new location (right across the street from where they used to be; now on the corner of Essex & Grand) seems slightly more spacious & brighter. We also love the new sign! My favorite are the mixed hot peppers. They are very hot, but extremely tasty. I usually bring some back so I can enjoy them at home! Everything we've tried so far has been great - this time we got some of the mixed pickled vegetables. We had planned to share them with friends, but it was so good that we ate it all ourselves! Also tried the sweet sliced jalapenos - perfect for adding some spice & flair to any sandwich. The guys working are ALWAYS so helpful & friendly. This place is truly a hidden gem & you must stop by if you're in NYC!

You can't describe the amazing smell of pickle brine when you walk in! We loved this place and the folks working there. What a great selection. I'd suggest to them to cover the barrels closest to the line. Order anything!

If you want just about anything pickled - Come here. You walk into a room filled with guess what ? Pickles and more pickles. Friendly and welcoming - They gladly explain their process and difference between new - 1/2 Sour - 3/4 Sour and Full sour. By just one or buy a Gallon -

- Store makes own brine; - Large variety of items (jalapeño stuffed olive !); - Mango is delectable; - Pickles come in variety of sours and available for sale as singles. In terms of taste medium cured is about Store bought flavour. Personally, I say Go for the extra sour (about 4 months cured).

I just walked outside and saw this place and strolled in for their pickles. Their gherkins are not sweet and sour like the pickles I usually expect, but salty and sour. They explained that the recipe is salt, garlic and pepper, so the sourness is created by the lactobacillus bacteria. I've since had a full and medium sour pickle, which are very salty and also some sauerkraut, which was excellent, sour, crunchy and salty. They have all sorts of pickles if you want to be more adventurous. The world needs more places like these given health benefits of eating fermented foods.

We went, because how couldn't we? For nostalgia, remembering "Crossing Delancy". Yummy pickles. Paid seventy-five cents for a half-sour pickle from the barrel. Not like it was in 1960, but glad it is still here even with their plastic barrels. Nice guy who helped us.

You like pickles, this IS your place. Freshest, tastiest pickles in NYC. Great variety, friendly services, prices are little higher than I would have expected..but they're worth It. Yum!

We tried the half-sour pickles on a food walking tour and they were crisp, juicy, and had just the right amount of flavor.

If you’ve never had a pickle that changed your life… you clearly haven’t had the Half Sours at The Pickle Guys. These aren’t just cucumbers with an identity crisis, these are divine brine revelations. The Half Sours are crisp, bright, and bursting with flavor. It’s like biting into the Lower East Side itself—salty with history, tangy with tradition, and alive with that unmistakable New York chutzpah (like the guys that work there, lovely chutzpah). The shop itself is a walk through time. You’re not just buying pickles, you’re stepping into a barrel-aged story that spans generations. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and somehow manage to scoop with speed and soul. Everything I’ve tried here is solid, but the Half Sours? They’re out of this world. Crunchy. Cold. Just the right punch of garlic. Honestly, they deserve their own holiday. If you’re in NYC and skip The Pickle Guys, you’ve missed a flavor pilgrimage. This is more than a pickle shop. It’s a brine-soaked love letter to Jewish food culture. 10/10. Will pickle again.

Biggest assortment of pickled products in town.. barrels full of pickled garlic, mango assorted vegetables etc. Must have been 75 fed ex boxes leaving today.

I shopped at the Pickle Guys when they were on Coney Island Avenue. When they moved to Grand Street I followed. My wife likes the new pickles, I go for the full sours that have a garlic punch that will curl your nose hairs (in a good way) I also love their garlic stuffed olives, and they're the only place to go for freshly grated horseradish for Pesach!

This is a pickle lovers paradise! I am a huge fan of the kosher sour, bread & butter ,and half sour pickles. All excellent products. Everything they sell is kosher. This is my version of a candy store!

The prickled products are fine, but at the end if the day they are still only pickles. The staff is a bit arrogant; often acting like they are selling something very highly crafted. They are only selling pickled fruits and vegetables. Interestingly they have quite a few photos linked to their Tripadvisor listing, the vast majority of which were posted by management. Let us tell the story of your establishment. Make good products and give good service, the rest will take care of itself.

Whenever I'm in the Lower East Side, I definitely have to stop in at the Pickle Guys. Once you walk by you can't resist the smell. I love all kinds of pickles and pickled fruits. This place is definitely the go-to spot in LES. I've been lucky coming here. I ran into Adam Sandler, Bobby Flay, and Anthony Bourdain shopping here. My favorites are the full sour pickles, olives, pickled mangos, and pickle pineapple. I highy reccomend.

This is not a restaurant, it is a hole in the wall, storefront pickle place, but if you want great pickles or pickled anything, this is the place. The guys are really funny, and the pickles are really great. He gave me a pickle to eat while he stuffed my container, and he says, "step back when you eat the pickle, don't drip in my barrel". Loved it!!

We come here every time we visit NY. Great fermented pickles. You can get new pickles, half sour, full sour, or hot sour. So whatever your flavor, they've got it. Plus lots of pickled other stuff. Try the picked mango and pineapple. The staff has always been super great to us. Remember all you tourists, this is a STORE, not an attraction. Please don't ask to sample one of everything while actual customers are waiting behind you. BTW we will miss the Brooklyn store.

If you ever desired anything pickled, these guys are likely to have it. A Lower East Side relic, this storefront is small on size but huge on selection, flavor, and history. A MUST SEE!

If you're in the lower east side you can't miss a visit to the Pickle guys. The pickle everything, from all kinds of pickles to mango and pineapple. The guys working there are super friendly and you can try everything before buying. Don't miss out on the best pickles in the world!!

Authentic pickles, good selection. However, the service is highly unprofessional and classless. I went during a pre-passover period so they have someone grinding fresh horseradish. I entered the shop and noticed there was a guy at the horseradish counter attended a customer. I was second in line and waited figuring he was filling a big order. Over five long New York minutes passed and the gnarly looking guy with crooked teeth said nothing to me. So I decide to go get my pickles first instead and comeback for the horseradish since they guy was taking his time. The pickle guy gave me service (but oddly no pickle was offered - they usually offer a free one while filling the order) and asked me if I wanted anything else. I told him I wanted horseradish. He then tells me that after you pay, you get a token and then after depositing the token by the horseradish guy, he will fill your order. What?! I am now upset because the horseradish guy basically ignored me and wasted my time. Then the pickle guy offers me a free pickle although the customer before me was offered one right after his order was placed, not when I'm about to leave. When I pay and then deposit my token at the horseradish station, the horseradish guy has the nerve to say "well there's a fast learner". What a rude, classless jerk. I live on the same block and will get my pickles elsewhere. They are expensive too. Not worth a detour.

So many pickled things, so little time. I could have sampled items all day but alas that is not how this place works. We had some new pickles and then some sour pickles and super sour pickles. I'm not used to brined pickles, I'm used to vinegar pickled pickles - but this place was a treat. I have to go back and try a few different items as I didn't get to any of the olives.

You feel part of the LES history when you taste The Pickle Guys delicious pickles! Whether you are a pickle lover or not this place is a must for anyone touring the area.

Also, do not miss the garlic olives. Usually the staff will do a Don Rickles act on you. The whole neighborhood is fun just to roam around.

Obviously this is a speciality store for products and not dining. The staff was awesome & they provided samples so I could make the right decesion. They have 8 varieties of pickles, a huge assortment of olives, and lots of other pickled products such as carrots, baby corn, celery, to name a few and they also make their own mustard and relishes. A quart of pickles was only $6.25. Everyones taste buds will lead to their own opinion when it comes to these types of products to determine if it is good ot great. All I can say is that everything I purchased I really enjoyed. Nice job Pickle Guys. Thanks!

Visiting my old stopping grounds "Lower East Side" and craving pickles and always remembered "Guss Pickles and the smells and taste you never forget. Guss knew how to brine those cucumbers and was the very best at it. The only one left is The Pickle Guys on Grand Street. So went to check them out and ordered half sour pickles. I was very disappointed when I tasted the pickle for it had a bland taste. It certainly did not meet my expectations how I knew half sours should taste and I paid $1.00 a pickle which was 4 inches long. :o(

The first thing you will notice having entered the shop is a wide variety of pickled goods - surprised they have no pickled dollar notes though. Anyway, I highly recommend this place for a wide range of offered pickles types and hospitality of the sellers.

These are the best pickles I've ever had - what a great find! They also have a variety of other marinated or pickled items - I will have to try them next time.

Best pickles! The guys are amazing! Unfortunately I'm back in the UK and I'm craving this!!! Please please please email me when you start shipping to the UK!!!!!!

Grand Street is great for a Lower East Side experience. We started at the Donut Plant and then to Kossars for bagels and bialys and before we left we went to the Pickle Guys to pick up quarts of sour and half sour pickles to bring home. You stand on a line and see lots of huge crates of all sorts of pickled items. The staff is very friendly and offered a sample of a free pickle. Are they better than what we get in the supermarket? I think so. They are definitely crunchier. Be you own judge. Try them and have fun!

I was stopping next door for a bagel and got sucked into The Pickle Guys because everything looked so good. Bought carrots, mango and brussels sprouts and they were all DELISH! Highly recommend!

Eating pickles right from the barrel -- just the way our ancestors did -- makes this worth a stop if you're anywhere near the Lower East Side. Was very impressed they have health standards: They ask you to stand against the back wall, away from the pickle barrels, when you are eating a sample in the store. This way there will be no saliva or brine going from your mouth back into the barrel. I bought a half-gallon of half sours and was even more impressed how tightly they packed them in, adding the brine at the very end. These guys deliver what they promise. Will definitely be back next time I am in the city.

Amazing pickles, friendly staff. We always buy a ton because I like the full sours, my husband like the half sours, and my son likes the quarter sours. Also delicious--the pickled mango and pineapple.

If your in the neighborhood, this is worth checking out just for the novelty- a small shop space full of barrels of pickled bliss. Unfortunately the employes on duty while we were there was not overly personable so it kind if dampened the experience. However, we were able to taste a few things before buying a quart of the most sour pickles (brining for three months). We took them down the street and ate them on a park bench and watched the world pass by.

Must visit for pickle lovers. They have a wide variety of pickles and friendly staff. Even though I’m not a pickle fan, I still enjoyed myself.

This was a prime destination on our NYC trip. Fresh horseradish sauce was being made out front of the store by a funny man wearing a gas-mask. He did not disappoint. Some of the salesmen inside were a bit gruff but that didn't hinder our enjoyment of the pickles. The pickles are delicious!

If you want something pickled these are the guys to see. From pickles with differing degrees of doneness to pickled tomatoes to pickled peppers, they've got 'em. The staff members are happy to explain the products and the prices can't be beat.

The best pickles and the best variety, friendly service. Faves, full sours and turnip pickles. Can be crouded with tourists, if so, hop down to Kossar's Bialys across the street and then come back..

No kidding. If you have never tried pickled pineapple, green beans or okra, go for it. And the dill pickles are fabulous indeed. We had visited the Lower Eastside Tenement Museum during the morning and went looking for the Pickle Guys. We weren't sure we were right on the address, but all of a sudden the aroma was overwhelming and mouth watering. Everything you can possible want pickled is here in big barrels and it was quite fun to taste. The guys that run the place are hysterical and so charming. We spent about 20 minutes in here before we could finally make a decision on what to purchase. Besides the tasty items, my husband also bought a t-shirt and has talked non-stop to fellow travelers about The Pickle Guys. If we lived in NYC, we would absolutely be regular customers!!! And as tourists, we loved the history of the place! (By the way, I'm not sure why this is listed as a restaurant. It is really more appropriate to appear on the "things to do" in NYC list.)

We walked by this whole is the wall place a half dozen times until we finally decided to stop in. While we were picking out our pickles from the dozens of barrels filled with mangoes, pickles, pineapple, olives, garlic, peppers, etc., a guy wearing a gas masked approached and offered us something from his gloved hand. Who can refuse food from a guy in a gas mask? Turned out to be the most delicious and powerful horseradish that I ever tasted. Too bad it could not pass as carry on. My husband, the pickle expert, said he was slightly disappointed by the olives, but I loved everything about this place.

I wouldn't even call this a shop, it's a storeroom full of barrels. Plenty of variety but staff reluctant to let you taste anything. Their service was average but they suddenly sprang in to life when someone they knew appeared. If you miss it (or can't find it) don't lose any sleep over it you haven't missed much. Not quite sure why it is rated in guides as worth a visit.

I'm surprised at how many people I know that either live in New York or within driving distance who never heard of this place. All good things come in small packages and this is a small place. You could even say a hole in the wall. They have barrels and barrels of all sorts of pickled vegetables. There's always a line.

These guys know how to make pickles best flavors and made just right. Always can try any of their products . I tried the marinated garlic it was outstanding and of course bought some with the 2 gallons of pickles

Love the Pickle Guys. True NY dills, tomatoes, etc. Well worth the drive to the Lower East Side before driving home.

Guys are friendly and welcoming. I like the pickles, but also get the green tomatoes, and the small multicolor tomatoes - try them! Don't know how great it is that the barrels are not refrigerated, but I've been fine every time I've eaten the food =).

This was a fun place to go. My husband loves pickled foods. They guys working there were very helpful and knowledgeable. They gave us several free samples. My husband did not love their pickles or okra, but loved their jalapeno olives. We also really enjoyed the pickled mango, even those of us who do not generally like pickled food. They also shrink wrapped our olive container for us, so that we could pack it in our suitcase for our flight home. Very nice.

The half sour is the best pickle I've ever had in my life. Thank god the Pickle Guy ships, as I'll. be ordering some pickles to be delivered. And the pineapple (spiced with cloves) is not to be missed either. We stopped in here on a food tour, and it was the highlight of the whole tour.

Don't expect style at this Lower East Side outpost of The Pickle Guys. It's just a pickle store, although you can pick up Pickle Guys souvenirs here. Three-quarters of the narrow space is taken up with barrels containing practically every common vegetable and more than a few fruits that underwent the pickle treatment. Of course, the star of the show is the pickle itself in about 10 different varieties, but tomatoes and olives are well-represented. The fellows manning the shop were very outgoing and the one who filled my quart-sized bucket freely offered a sample of the half-sour to munch on. Very crisp and tasty with just enough pucker power to give bite without inducing a lemon face. If you are looking for an authentic New York style snack, be different and choose a pickle from The Pickle Guys.

The store sells delicious pickles and pickled everything. No complaints about that. The owner is nice enough, but a very typical New Yorker—a bit short on manners but fundamentally nice enough. Go for the pickles any way.

Amazing choice of pickles, really good, very tasty, homemade, great quality, nice people, warm welcome, the best address for pickles!

We stopped in and got some sour pickles, pickled pineapple, and pickled cantaloupe. It was all delicious! The staff was friendly and funny.

Amazing pickled everything and great people to offer advice. Divinely smelly. When they say "hot" they mean hot - to perfection. Wish I lived closer.

We were brought here as part of our food tour. You can smell the vinegar and spices as you approach the store. The Pickle Guys offer a large variety of pickles from 1/4 dill, 1/2 dill, 3/4 dill, and full dill, which is the length of time the pickles are fermenting. It is amazing some of the other things they pickle like mango, tomatoes, chilies, and much more. I tried the 3/4 dill and didn't quite care for it. I didn't like the flavors and thought the 1/4 dill was much better and definitely crunchier. The chilies, mango, and tomatoes were well liked by my family members. If you are a pickle lover, then go check them out, but I doubt I'll be back. PS - If this review was useful, please click the HELPFUL button on your cell phone or the THANK YOU button on your computer. I'd appreciate it :-D

This place has stood the test of time is one of the best pickle shops in the city. Perhaps even in this side of the coast. Great selection of quality homemade products and officially kosher. I got some spicy pickled peppers and they were really good. My mom loves them.

This was one of the last stops on our food tour. Wow. What a variety of pickles. The service was very friendly and the pickles were very good. We were advised by our tour guide to get the full sour pickle. They were quite good. We will have to come back by ourselves the next visit.

Simply stated. Everything pickled. It’s amazing. We got 3 medium sour pickles, a container of beets and a container of pineapple. Yes I said pineapple. You haven’t lived until you had pickled pineapple. Just check out their menu. Everything from asparagus to Brussels sprouts to mango. And they’ll let you sample. Get a tshirt too. Guys working there are super nice and helpful.

Once my family for into the store, we can smell something great! We were so excited to try everything. The workers are really friendly and helpful. My favorite is the pickled mango. It tasted so much better than I expected. This is one of those places that I would recommend people to experience. Keep up the great work, Pickle Guys!

The pickles are amazing, and the guys working there are so welcoming. Don’t miss this place if you are on the Lower East side.

Visited whilst on a food tour of the area. What an amazing array of pickled items, wish we had the same at home. Wanted to try everything and take some home but sadly couldn't. Pickling does not use vinegar which is not what we are used to, but actually much better. The half sours are delicious, the freshly grated horseradish looked amazing. Wish you did mail order to the UK !

Awesome place to try many picked items display in a variety of colors and flavors in barrels. Service is top notch and friendly staffs encourage trying as many samples as you want before deciding on purchase. My favorites are the fresh pickles which tast freshly pickled with a nice crunch, and their olives which can be eaten directly or use in cocktails.

I am addicted to pickled everything (except meats and fish!) and this place does not disappoint! The aroma of vinegar and spice as you walk by is overwhelming. We came home with new pickles, half sours, full sours, spicy halfs, tomatoes, mango, carrots, gardiniera, pineapple and gherkins and herring, as everyone in the family likes something different. Everything was delicious and fresh. The guys working in the store were very nice and helpful, and offered to hold on to our purchases as we had a lot more walking about to do. We'll be in pickle heaven for a good long while!

Came here 20 some years ago !! ((with my H. S. danglers.)) when the fellow who owns it worked at the other nameless pickle place.. !!! PLEASE ... THIS GUY IS THE BEST !! Give me a break !! He's sells his goods to the restaurants !!! Baltimore girl loves you guys !!!

I recently visited The Pickle Guys. We had a great time picking a peck of pickled pickles! Everything you could ask for. I had full sour pickles that were the best! I’ll be back!!

Great unique NYC spot. Everything from half-sour to dill pickles to pickled beets, onions, brussel sprouts, peppers and more. When you walk in, the scents waft up into, you and you are sold! When we were there, I think one of the owners was there and he was very engaging and fun with everyone who was there. Nice spot! Joel and Rosalie...Boston, MA.

Apparently The Pickle Guys is the last remnant of what used to be numerous pickling shops in the area. Basic corner shop with items often beyond your imagination that they pickle. Opted for the basic sour pickle and was not disappointed. The owner and staff are very willing to help you sample and suggest what would be good for you to buy. You can also get the cukes in various stages of pickling. The sour pickle wasn't really very sour but was brined through and through with that wonderful crunch and juice. Had some of their pickled turnip too but not my cup of tea. If your in the East Side and want something to snack on that is completely different consider visiting The Pickle Guys.

There are barrels full of different kinds of pickles and different foods that are being pickled and they fill the room. You tell the guy what you want and he gets it straight out of the barrel. You can get a single pickle or a bunch of pickles and I think he ships. It is a small store. I think you would be ok in a wheelchair. It was fun and makes an interesting photo.

Probably the only pickle place left on the Lower East Side. Can get traditional kosher pickles or something more exotic. Around the holidays packed with shoppers. Makes great horse radish.

The Pickle Guys have been around a long time. They moved to a new place across the street, and the quality and taste has never changed. There's every flavor and type of pickle you can imagine. I usually drop by and pick up pickled mangoes, pineapple and I hear watermelon is coming soon! Also, I like the garlic pickles, kalamata olives and sauerkraut. The guys are nice and the portions and prices are good for what you get. It's like being in a pickle candy store!

I had walked around lower east side with the intentions of coming here. I am so glad I did. You can buy pickles anywhere but I'm happy to say I'm going home with pickles from the lower east side. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I bought 12 larger pickles for $7.50 and they packaged them up so I can fly home with them.

As a girl, I used to go to Gus' pickle stand with the big barrels of pickles. In college, friends going back to NY would pick up a half dozen half sours for me. When I moved away as an adult, no more pickles like this. Well, Izzy Gus is no longer there and I have heard there was drama over the pickle legacy but The Pickle Guys are my new go-to place for pickles. The full sour is a lot of people's favorite but I prefer the half sour. You can pick up lots of other pickled veggies and even pickled herring but my companion on the trip is NOT a pickle person so I kept my purchase small this time. Definitely will come back and recommend it to all.

Lucky for my sister and I our tour guide showed us this amazing place. We tried the pickles and fell in love, we came back the following day to get more. So delicious

Great pickles, best prices, interesting products - try the pickled pineapple. This place is always on our list when we're in the neighbourhood.

I've had this place on my radar for awhile and made it a point to get there. I paid $18 for an Uber ride into Chinatown. Walked a lot of Chinatown and then went on a mission to The Pickle Guys. It was exhilarating to see the corner signs! We were the only customers there at the time so we were able to check out the barrels and prices. Both guys working were funny and helpful. We sampled 3 things (green garlic stuffed olives, pineapple, and mango) and bought (all 3) as much as we knew we could keep cold at the hotel. It was so delicious! I never thought I'd go to the pickle place and not buy pickles but we started sampling pickled things we had never tried and just fell in love. This place is a must-do. While we were there, one of the guys recommended a candy store a few blocks down (Economy Candy) and it was fantastic! I will be marking both of these places on my NYC map of must dos!

We visited this cute storefront after going to Doughnut Plant. So many barrels of pickles, tomatoes, olives, and other fermented items. Really interesting to see!

They have been making pickles here for years and years and they are seriously incredible. They ship all over the country if you need a fix but it's best to come to NYC and grab them fresh.

We've been many times, but this is the first time at the new location. A real lower est side tradition, and with barrels and barrels of assorted pickles, mushrooms, olives etc, just can't be beat!!!

Don't hesitate to descend into this little storefront and take home some of the best pickles you've ever tasted. The pickle guys are fun and will offer you a taste. Make sure to try some of their more interesting offerings such as the pickled pineapple - awesome. Wish I had more room to take more home, but those half sours were awesome!

half sour, new pickles and pickled vegetables all in large barrels of brine. Ask for a sample or ten...then buy what you like. Very friendly guys with a lot of pickle knowledge.

Yes, the Pickle Guys have the best pickles ever. Having grown up in New York but now living in North CarolinaI, I crave real NY pickles. These are amazing. Great flavor, crisp, just right. Normally I have to order them but we were in NY in August and stopped by. Easy to find and very friendly staff. No, its not a restaurant but they have an incredible selection and you can ask for samples. I prefer the new pickles. They taste great and age well. I sampled the spicy pickles this time, as well. If you like heat this is a great way to go as well. Carrying a gallon on the subway, in the hotel, and back to NC was well worth it. They will put them in a plastic jar with a screw on top and then wrap the jar with layers of plastic cling wrap so you don't have to worry about them leaking in the plane or car. The best $23.00 I have spent in a long time. During the warm months it is difficult to have them shipped because they begin ripen too much during shipping, so if you are in NY its better to pick them up.

The staff is super friendly and funny! When I visited to buy a quart of half-sours one of the employees even offered me a free pickle to try. How cool is that? This place even has something called pickled pineapples. It's sweet with a little kick to it.

Able to sample from the large range of pickles these guys produce whilst I was on a food tour of the Lower East Side. I tried a few but generally found them a little too sharp and sour for my taste. Seems popular with the locals which is always a good sign. Not for me but if you don't try things you'll never know.

Soooo many types of pickled items. The pickles themselves are to die for. Crunchy and flavorful. But there's also a huge variety of other items... Pineapple, Mango, carrots, tomatoes, peppers, beets and more. And it's only a few doors down from Kossar's Bialys! I always drop some serious cash here whenever I visit.

Really good herring. There's a nice bially place round the corner, too, if you want something to go with the pickles

We stumbled on the Pickle Guys while going for donuts at the Donut Plant in the lower East Side. Pickles and olives were fantastic. Perfect pre-donut appetizer!

I was REALLY excited to try this place out. I love pickled food and I heard that they have a huge selection of pickled everythings. When i got there though i was kind of shocked. I was ok with it being an open storefront. Unfortunately the barrels of food were open to the air. No covers. Flys all over them, happily sampling every thing before I could. No scoops, just open Tupperware containers instead. If they can't afford to put plastic covers over the barrels it makes me wonder what other corners they might cut. I couldn't bring myself to get any of what probably would be delicious food.

After discovering that the Carnegie Deli was shut down, I was in need of somewhere else to get a good pickle in New York. I was immediately turned on to the Pickle Guys. And I am so glad I took the trip down to see them! Their pickles are amazing and the variety is second to none. Do yourself a favor and go get some pickles from these guys. Needless to say, this is my new go to pickle joint in NYC!

Great service, these guys explained everything about pickles to my wife, helping her make a choice even though we were only buying a few to walk and eat. Many different choices in this tiny downtown storefront. I loved the garlic varieties, but my wife enjoyed the sour types.Agreat lower Manhattan stop.
Finger licking good
Was by my friend once and he had there hot tomato’s, since then it’s a weekly trip to the pickle guy, and I don’t want to try new stuff from them, because every time I taste something I have to buy it again. Only thing they should give a little better service,
