If you want a chance to see a celebrity in NYC, get a reservation here. Book 3 months in advance to the date! Takes some work, but worth it. Justin Hartley from This is Us & his wife dined just a few tables over from us.

New York City… Amazing decor ....perfect service… And food exceptional… Again something for everyone… We started out with a corn beef sandwich then everybody shared… It was out of this world… Not something we would ever eat normally… From the lobster roll… To the Halibut To the veggie burger… Unforgettable Meal…

A sheik, very upscale men's club atmosphere. A great spot to see the pretty people of NYC. The menu is simple and the food average. When there is pigs in a blanket as an appetizer, you can understand the balance of the selections. We had a hot dog ( a specialty of the house) , hamburger and chicken. All good and it makes for an enjoyable night of simple dining.

Everyone talks about how difficult it is to snag a reservation here - not 100% sure HOW we did it - I think a friend got us in. But once inside it's like you're in an ad for Polo - exquisite wood paneling and very nice décor. Service is unbelievably good - but not pushy at all. Not a real large food menu -- but the hamburgers we had were among the best we've ever eaten. Very good wine list - and a good selection of specialty cocktails. Tables are very New York-like - close together. Noise level isn't extreme - but it's not a great place for a quiet conversation. But that's not a knock. I don't know if we'll get in again - but we'll definitely try.

We stayed at the St. Regis for my husband's birthday weekend and our dinner here on Sat. night was the perfect across-the-street dinner solution on a cold winter night. We entered the sparkling "men's club" and knew that we were in the hands of professionals. The service, food and drinks lived up to the RL label's reputation. Everything was perfect.

The Polo Bar at Ralph Lauren is a place to go if you enjoy "English Country Style' interiors with lots of wood and leather. Otherwise you could have an equally nice, if not better, meal elsewhere in New York.

This place just spoke to me. Beautiful wood paneling, comfortable seating. Exclusive entry. Great cocktails. Crowded, but never felt crowded. A lot of people having a great time, but not Loud. The food was perfect, amazing, and exceptional. Very hard to get a reservation. So good luck @nickellfamlytravel

As upscale as you can’t get without being pretentious. Great food, beautifully decorated bar. Make your reservations early. Like weeks ahead of time if you want a prime dinner time. Is good before a show, they will get you served quickly. Just let them know. Little on the pricey side, so I’d leave the kids home . No tie it jacket required. You may get lucky and see a celebrity.

We had an amazing experience prior to heading to a show. Focusing on small plates and drinks, I highly recommend the potato caviar bites and the shrimp cocktail was impressive! We'll TRY to get back in again and good luck with the reservation as well, be sure to check out the restrooms :)

There are few places that deliver such a completely joyful experience. The American style elegance is wonderful. Classic horsey decor done with a flair that unites the frontier with the erudite. Beautiful, friendly staff and staff and setting. From the door to the bar to the dining room to the coatchevk and the commodious powder rooms, it’s all a continuous joy. Politely cordial — just can’t say enough about the wonderful team that serves so naturally. The menu is great and every dish is thoughtful and creative. Still it all heartens back to a confident basic concept. A corned beef sandwich is classic yet new. The desserts are terrific. But there’s plenty of scentient healthy food, too.

Simple review. Welcomed and shown to elevator instantly. Waiters so helpful and polite. Food quality 12/10. You pay for what you get here, unrivalled quality and service is a sophisticated atmosphere. If your lucky to get a reservation, enjoy every second!

Great place to meet with friends! The Vesper Martini is a must! They also have a great wine selection! And food was sublime!

Last week's visit to The Polo Bar marks our fifth time. It's an annual highlight of our trips to Manhattan, and we always leave nourished gastronomically and spiritually. From the vesper martinis and warmed bar snacks in our favourite hideaway at the rear of the main level bar to a very special table tucked away in one of the outer rooms of the lower level dining room, we were made to feel as though we were the only ones in the restaurant. On this visit, we had a very good friend accompany us for the first time. He was enamored. Nelly, the Hospitality Director, joined us for a round of cocktails after her shift (Nelly, you made it a very memorable evening). We all opted for the holiday burger (peppercorn burger, melted brie and - get this - shaved black truffles). To die for! They took the always fantastic Polo Bar burger and amped it up. We had it the year before, too, and were only too happy to see it on offer again. The Polo Bar is hands down my favourite restaurant anywhere. We travel to NY each year to dine there. And, yes, reservations only - one month in advance! So worth the extra effort.

Did not disappoint. Top service. Beautiful ub feel. Food was delish. Popovers yum. Filet. NY Strip. Burger. All perfect. All cocktails good. A perfect meal. Well done Mr Lauren.

Everything about this restaurant is top notch. Beautiful room, excellent service, wonderful food. You just don’t want to leave!

Amazing vibe every time , great service and food. Love everything about this place. Try the steak sandwich! Delicious !

Great service, great burgers. Cocktails they can improves. We really appreciated the quality and the service of a tall guy bwhich has incredible passion for his job.

The ambiance is breathtaking from the time you enter and pass the bar until you go downstairs to the restaurant. We had a wonderful corner table with nice privacy. The drinks were superb. I had the summer champagne royale with grapefruit. Most delicious refreshing drink ever. The popovers are superb. My chicken paillard was tasteless and dry. Dessert great. Wonderful place if you don’t expect much from the food.

My wife and I went here with my son and his partner during a week long visit to New York.We had the early 5.15pm sitting but despite this on descending down the stairs to the restaurant the place was buzzing.A well dressed clientele were being attended to by a battery of staff.Of particular note was our water was topped up continuously. Our choice of wine was aided by an expert sommelier.Prices reflect the super experience of dining there. The appetiser clams special was super. The main course burger was extremely filling especially with its side of chips.Service was excellent

We booked a table at the very coveted Polo Bar by Ralph Lauren. We were told how this place was incredibly popular by many celebrities and alike. They were right. The place is frequented by many. We arrived just prior to our sitting time, which was already late at 9.30 PM (especially with a 4.30 AM wake up call for an early flight). We were still sitting waiting for our table at 10PM. Finally we were shown downstairs from the bar to the restaurant. We had a young blonde lady who sat us at a table which looked like an after thought, for three of us it was basically a breakfast table for 2 people. I felt so squashed and exposed. I was already hating the experience. When a table right next to us, which was a table for 4, came available, we asked the delightful waiter if we could be moved. He agreed and started the process. This is when the blonde lady came over and basically said we couldn't have the table. We told her that the waiter had agreed and she basically threw a tantrum because we persisted. She was horrid. The wait staff on the other hand were delightful, knowledgable and attentive. The food was fair, it is basically just a high brow burger joint, there is not much to the menu. It is basic food made well and priced high. We still didn't get to eat our main till 11 PM and the food although good was not worth the wait. I probably would never do it again, it really wasn't that special.

I absolutely love the Ralph Lauren Polo Bar in Chicago. It’s too bad their big brother in Manhattan forgot the family values. It was a half hour til closing time. Most of the seats were empty. The bar at the hotel across the street was packed, so we thought we would settle in for a nightcap. We were met by a snooty, whiney host. “Do you have reservations?” His tone was condescending and diminutive. The kind that gives the Big Apple a lousy reputation and embarrasses the locals. I said we just wanted a quick nightcap. He demurred. “I’m sorry. We don’t seat people unless you have a reservation.” Spare me the logic about why a reservation would make a difference to the bartenders. I pointed out the bar of empty seats - you know, the most expensive seats in the house. Ralph is paying this guy to turn away a C-note in drinks. THAT is expensive. He persisted. “I’m sorry. Can you come back another night?” Hell, no. There’s a reason the bars in the neighboring hotels are full. They actually want your business and provide services worthy of their moniker. Save yourself the time and frustration with Little Lord Fauntleroy and go across the street. The drinks here are better, anyway.

We dined here on a Saturday night pre-theater, and the service and food, as always, was excellent. After reading some of the recent reviews, let me add my opinion of their comments. Some of the people dining here just don't get the world of Ralph Lauren. Polo is the sport of kings and Mr.Lauren has brought this classic atmosphere to his beautiful stores and restaurants. It seems that most people do not know how to conduct themselves in a beautiful environment. If this restaurant had a more stringent and enforced dress code, most of these undesirables with their loud undisciplined children would remain on the street in front of the restaurant instead of inside of it. Money does not buy class, and I see it often at nice restaurants around the city. Great conduct receives great service from the door to the time you leave. My hope is that one day there will be an Old Navy Bar or a H&M Bar where these folks will be welcomed and they can feel at home.

Interior looks swanky and very proud of it ! Bar totally empty at 8:45 p.m. and no entry to have a cocktail - nice doorman doing his job and very rude restaurant manager. The bar at the St Regis ( directly across the street) way more happening and very friendly staff . When we left there a little after 10 p.m. the Polo bar area still empty - should have taken a picture - not one person at the bar on Saturday night. Also, lobby bar at Plaza has delightful staff and very accommodating. Polo bar looks great but skip the attitude - to many other great places in NYC in same area and throughout the City . Not worth the hype !

Something about “buying burgers” as a minimum. Huh? Just wanted a drink...overpriced is fine. Bartender very nice and said he would look the other way and “allow” us to have drinks. Goofy

If so, you should go. The atmosphere is pure Ralph Lauren ! Gorgeous & clubby. The reservation only policy is a bit of a joke, even though we had them. You need to go thru a hostess at the front door for admittance, than you need to go thru another hostess at the steps to the downstairs dining room. Once there a final host will seat you. This restaurant is known to be booked solid. Ha! Come in on the early side it's basically empty. Service was great, however not really comfortable to have the servers all lined up at times all over the dining room. Servers should be in the back ground .Food was good for 3 diners, except a chicken under a brick, it's a loser. Would we go back, no. But, it is off our bucket list ! :)

I ❤️The Polo Bar. Very swish. Very smart. But why did they take the roast chicken off the menu?! It was Devine! Anyway I found Rotisserie Georgette on 60th & 5th Ave and they serve very delicious Roast chicken. Just saying!

Very nice dinner, wonderful service at a good price point. Decor is beautiful just like the Flagship Store. The bar before dinner was perfect and very friendly!!

So I was in the city in the midst of the corona virus scare and I was invited by my sister and her boyfriend for dinner at the polo lounge. I have to admit it was not my exact taste I was staying at the one Brooklyn bridge (my husband phad a conference in Brooklyn that was not called of) and had some previous amazing meals and service at le Frenchette and lilia. However, my sister’s boyfriend invited me and he was super excited about trying this restaurant so of course I obliged. I met them at the bar which was extremely charming, but the bartender was anything but charming. I ordered a cocktail that he wasn’t familiar with so he was nice enough to look it up online which I appreciated. After serving me the cocktail my sister said let the bartender taste it meaning try it out of my glass. I said looking directly into the bartenders eyes no and he proceeded to stick his straw into my glass. I mean seriously this was the beginning of our evening which got progressively worse. At dinner, I was given the wine list to order a bottle of wine the sommelier insisted in an arrogant fashion that there wasn’t a bottle of white wine under 140$ that would be full bodied and not too buttery which were my specifications. He was arrogant and we were a little uncomfortable so we said ok. The rudeness only escalated from there. I asked the server her recommendations for dinner and she responded in a flat pplease don’t bother me kind of voice, I like rich food so that’s all I know and could recommend on the menu. Ugh seriously isn’t that her job to offer recommendations based on the customers palette? Maybe the whole staff were angry and didn’t want to be there because that was the feeling and the vibe of the whole restaurant. To be honest I didn’t want to be there either especially with the corona virus looming all around us, but nobody was paying me and my sister’s boyfriend was paying a lot of money. So shame on the staff of the polo bar restaurant! They made an uncomfortable night even more uncomfortable for us and then charged an exorbitant amount of money.

The reservation system is appalling. Spent over $125 dollars trying to get through to reservations and being put on hold. Never got a reservation. Emailed them - no help. Not great if calling from the UK. Never got to go sadly.

When you think of Ralph Lauren fashion, you think of best of the best posh americana. The Polo Bar raises that 'bar ( yes pun intended) a bit. there is a private club in Aspen colorado called TheCaribou Club., It is membership only. Posh and discreet you have to go down a corridor and downstairs to get there. That's the vibe that Polo Bar New York replicated. And then there's the food. Perfectly prepared . anything you order, cocktails, oysters, sole, steak, french fires. Perfect.sincerely, classic, delicious and precut. You cannot go wrong. It deserves all of the merits.

We went on Christmas Eve and had a wonderful dinner. The wine list was extensive, they had all the famous vintages. The food was spot on and service was impressive. Would love to come back! We had the 22 oz ribeye for 2 and the scallops appetizer special and a bottle of wine. Our bill was 240 ish and I tipped 60 . (The wine was 145) It was an awesome experience! Definitely make reservations months in advance!

Had drinks at the bar before dinner and enjoyed our mixologists creations at the bar , fantastic! Also LOVED the “bar snacks” , I don’t think I can eat nuts unless they’re warm ever again.Made our way down to dinner in the enormous dining room ,enjoyed sandwiches and great side dishes off the menu , our waiter was kind and friendly and they even offered extra popovers, YES!Desserts were killer to end our meal , I will be back.Dressy place even though you can get a burger and fries ( which you should, and a Reuben Too!!)

Make a reservation and it feels like your rich leathery private club. Great cocktails. Amazing hospitality. Tried three of salads—all delicious. Split a veg burger with wife. Extraordinary selection of expensive wines by glass. Fun. Old style lounge.

Just love this place. We always come for our anniversary and every year is a new experience. We began the evening waiting for our table in the lovely bar lounge upstairs. It has a fireplace and a warm atmosphere. This year we tried the Concord royale cocktails - fabulous! The fried olives are great and a signature Polo Bar snack. To back track a bit, we are always welcome when we come in by a great staff. Grace is terrific and I wish I had the name of the gentleman with her but big shout out to him as well. Thank you Nellie and Caroline for remembering us from year to year and making us feel so special. We also love the "down to earth" menu. The burgers are just great. Always enjoy the popovers and pigs in a blanket. This year we had fantastic corn beef sliders. For dessert a must is the ice cream sundae and if you are up for more, the chocolate cake is so good and decadent. The restaurant decor is beautiful with the wood and hunter green color theme paired with great equestrian paintings. Even the bathroom is stunning. The service is always excellent. The staff is attentive without being obtrusive and we never feel rushed. Thank you to our waiter, Nop. This is one of our favorite restaurants in Manhattan and we recommend it to everyone.

Loved my meal at the polo bar. We arrived 30 mins early to soak in the atmosphere at the bar with cocktails and bar snacks. I would highly recommend you do the same. We were moved to the dining area downstairs when our table was ready. Nothing has been spared in decking out the venue to keep in the polo theme - it’s flawless. Our waiter was lovely. I ordered the burger and it was delicious! Offers a good wine list if you want to move on from the cocktails.

We loved the food and service at the Polo Bar and would recommend it to anyone. One note, however: I never wear "hard" shoes anywhere unless I have to. But I was told when making the reservation that hard shoes were part of the dress code for this restaurant. When we got there, I noticed that half the people standing in line were wearing sneakers. I mentioned the "hard shoes" requirement to the host who said he had never heard that before. I wish I knew that before packing for this trip. Hard shoes are NOT required....but the restaurant is great. Don't miss it.

It wasn’t just that I wanted to know what all the fuss was about, or that it’s Ralph Lauren’s restaurant, or even the prospect of enjoying some very well-prepared food served with professional aplomb. What I’d hoped to find, and what I found, was a place to set the city stress aside and simply enjoy all of the above in the company of my friends in a comforting, familiar-feeling environment. But I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t glamorous.

This was my second time at The Polo Bar. We were only able to secure a late reservation, but it was absolutely amazing. The best part is sitting at the bar prior to your meal. I would recommend arriving 30 minutes early to enjoy this experience. The drinks and bar snacks are excellent. Once downstairs, the meal, service, and atmosphere is solid and well worth the expense. We will be back on our next visit.

What a fabulous bar and restaurant. If you're in New York...this is a must do...if you can nab a reservation. We could only nab a 930pm booking on a Tuesday night and it was packed. Food is awesome, service is brusque but super friendly...I'd highly recommend the Polo Lounge...it's just fabulous!

The place is really pretty; waiters great always want Carlos; dinner for all was good , however I would not order the salmon again; ask to sit upstairs instead of downstairs !

Definitely hard to get into but worth it. Greeted warmly enough, taken downstairs. The dress code is not adhered to by everyone, but not sure how they can turn a girl away in midriff baring shirt and jeans. The service was excellent and the food was surprisingly very good. The pigs in blanket great, the pastrami sandwich was perfection.

We booked a month in advance to secure a table and the planning was well worth it. Great service from the guy from Morocco and excellent chat with fellow diners. Food was great as was the wine - we did go for it hence the bill for 2 was close to $400 - ouch! We will certainly return. Only negative was that t he oysters were tiny.

We returned to The Polo Bar five years after our first visit and it didn’t fail to disappoint! Best bar and restaurant in the world! Staff are first class, food is amazing and the ambience is just our of this world! We have done all 3 restaurants now, NYC, Chicago and Paris and NYC is our favourite! Just waiting to try the bar in London once we are out of Covid! Highly recommend but you must book way in advance!

Love love love this NYC resto, posh , elegant and the food is perfectly prepared :) You feel like you’re on the set of a movie! Celebrated hubbys bday ! Thank you Benjamin for making our soirée even more perfect! You are a gem ! The Salvatore’s Montreal

the best burgers u can find in NYC, you will not forget the atention and service not to mention the decors

I have been to RL in Chicago many times so it was natural for me to seek out the Polo Bar in NYC. In for drinks with a friend I ordered a dry classic Martini. The first one came out full of vermouth... and the second, very dirty, finally prompting me to seek out the barman, in order to explain exactly what I had ordered and wanted, and the definition of a dry martini. He took exception... but quickly after giving it some thought... he made the drink correctly on the third try. He apologized and sent over some unwanted snacks. After two drinks we left with a whopping $79.41 bill. Needless to say... not a good experience! I give the Polo Bar the benefit of doubt, based on my many excellent times at RL in Chicago, but as for this particular visit to the NYC Polo Bar... I'll mark it off to a bad and expensively overpriced experience. You don't always get what you pay for!

Polo Bar has become our go-to dinner spot over the past few years ... service is always outstanding, food is delicious and the atmosphere is lovely.

We had heard such great things about the restaurant and were excited to go but were very disappointed. The highlights included drinks at bar and the starters at the restaurant. We found the service to be lackluster. Burger not amazing and brick oven chicken was tasteless and rubbery. Perhaps was better when first opened but better restaurants in nyc. Room is beautifully appointed as one would expect.

Just love this restaurant from the food to the service to the decor. We had drinks and snacks at the bar before we were seated. The fried olives were great. The restaurant menu is varied and you can have "normal" food like burgers and fries to a perfect diet night dinner with salads, fish, grilled cauliflower and more. The burgers are cooked to perfection. Also try the pigs in a blanket. By the way, they start the dinner with freshly baked popovers - another perk. For dessert we always choose the chocolate layer cake with a dollop of whipped cream. We also splurged with their amazing ice cream sundae. So many more terrific choices. The decor is beautiful from the bar to the bathrooms. The restaurant has a cozy, club atmosphere with lots of equestrian paintings and wood and hunter green touches. The service is superb. Our waiters here are always attentive, respectful and never obtrusive. This time we had Jovian. What a nice guy with a terrific personality. A special shout out goes to Nelly and her staff. She orchestrated our evening so every minute went smoothly. It meant a lot to us since we were celebrating a special anniversary with our family. She is so nice and accommodating and I always look forward to seeing her when we come. This is now one of our "go to" restaurants in Manhattan. Just love it!

We visited on July 2 for a nightcap at 10:30pm. We ordered 4 drinks, 3 of which were made wrong! An old fashion that came without a lemon or orange peel, a highWest that came with an orange peel, a greyhound and they brought a martini. Completely amateur bartending in my opinion. We notified the waiter and he apologized but didn’t offer to have the drinks corrected but did bring the Greyhound....and still charged us for the martini! We also witnessed the host meet a couple at the door and turn them away stating they weren’t serving any longer - solely based on how they were dressed. Understand Dress codes but this place is a tourist brand now, not a high class restaurant any longer. They should be ashamed of themselves not only for their terrible bartending but their social profiling!

Went for my most recent birthday. I previously dined in 2019 and was blown away by both food and service and it was the first place I booked after deciding I was coming back to NYC for a vacation. I love the burger, pigs in blanket and the bespoke martini. In my opinion It’s worth the wait and the time it takes to make the reservation. The staff make you feel very special and the fit out of the restaurant is phenomenal. Oscar at the bar upstairs was fantastic - he asks how you are going and if you need a drink and let’s the bar tenders know that guests are waiting - I wish he could have made my drink. I also had the chocolate cake which was delicious. Highly recommend - it’s a must when I am in NYC.

What a fabulous establishment! The service was spot on at the bar and in the restaurant. The ambiance is classic Ralph Lauren with an english equestrian theme. The bar was cozy, the restaurant was elegant without feeling stuffy. My cheese burger was perfectly cooked and I almost lost my mind when I tasted the fried olives at the bar--so yummy! I will try to visit The Polo Bar on every visit to the city! A truly wonderful restaurant and bar.

This is the most wonderful restaurant in everyway. Ambiance service & food are all outstanding. It’s a fantastic menu with everything being exceptional. One of the absolute best dining experiences in NY & probably the world for that matter!

Food was great, service was excellent. Atmosphere and attitude were incredibly snooty. Rider-costumed greeter gave us an up-and-down, junior high school-attitude checkout. (Later let in teenagers in teeshirts.) Three tables of all females (two 2-tops, one 3-top) were relegated to a side room. All the tables in the main area had at least one male at it. The staff definitely sorts you out as you proceeded through the gauntlet of costumed staff. It is 2022 people. (I am NYer; out of town friend wanted to try this place. I never will set foot in here again.)

Dinner at the Polo Bar is like walking into a different world. This is one of my favorite spots in Chicago and the NYC outpost does not disappoint. The cool and sophisticated bar on the first floor is a small taste of the stylish decor in the downstairs dining room. The dark wood and decor gives a warm and intimate feel, with just the right amount of “see and be seen” atmosphere. Great service...along with a diverse menu, offers a top notch experience.

It is impossible to get a reservation - they put you on hold for over one hour on the phone, ask you very specific questions about day/time of reservation, only to tell you there are no reservations available for the entire next month. The "reservationist" must have known there were no reservations prior to asking me such detailed questions! When I went to the restaurant it was almost completely empty for the early dining slot, but started to fill up at the end of my time slot. The tables were so close/cramped together it was hard to get up to go to the bathroom. Further, we ended up having joint conversations with the table next to us because it was like we were all seated at the same table the tables were so close & cramped. The food was expensive and not very good. I wouldn't want to order or have any of the dishes again. I had a sandwich and the bread was charred completely black like charcoal. The food is salty. They do say over the phone a strict dress code but no one was wearing what the guy said over the phone. The table next to us had some sort of bug on it and the whole experience seemed like a lot of effort for a customer to have cramped dining with over-priced poor food. The service I also thought was poor - I've had better service at dive bars! So I would say it's like having a very cramped not very good but expensive meal in like a Ralph Lauren store. So although the place has been marketed very well, and many fans of the Ralph Lauren brand want to try it, the experience overall was underwhelming.

Dining here is by reservation only. You can reserve through open table. They open from 5pm to 10 pm. The dining room is on the lower level, upstairs by the entrance is the bar. Food is very good! We liked everything we ordered! The cheese is so fresh it melts in your mouth! Everything was tasty! Steak is good and meat is tender! Cooked to perfection! Price of food is what you expect. Menu is available on their website. They do have daily specials. I don’t drink wine but they do have a good selection of wine. Desserts and coffee are also good! My only complaint is is that tables are too close to each other!

This could not have been any nicer than it was that evening. Exquisite setting and the food was over the top.

We have been lucky to go a few times and it never fails to be over the top. The food was incredible as well as the team and managers. Get the reservation and make this a destination!!

We really should have gone somewhere else but all the talk & hype about this place we reluctantly tried. We had issues with our party size going from 11 ppl to 12ppl paying a huge penalty for 12th person. Most definitely wasn’t worth the $$$ we all paid. Leaving a terrible feeling with ALL of us. We should have just given to a homeless person for thanksgiving we’d feel at least better than throwing the money away at this Polo Lounge place for terrible feeling that money buys you this kind of behavior!? Never going back to this place!

What am amazing experience. Decor is exactly as you would expect from Ralph Lauren. Rich wood and fabrics. Our food was excellent. I had the burger which was one of the best I have ever had. Fries were great. My wife had the lobster roll with homemade chips, also amazing. Our service and the team were fanastic. We cant wait to go back next time we are in NYC.

The Polo Bar is a fancy bar / restaurant close to Times Square that only services with reservation. We had ours for 10:30pm, arrived around 15 minutes earlier and were directed to our table. At a first glance you are already impacted by the overall decoration and environment of the restaurant, located in the lower level. We were a party of three and had wine, whisky and dinner, the Ralph Lauren hot dog and burger. All of which was amazing along with the service, which was explendid. This place is a must-know in NYC.

This was a very cool place to hang out, really enjoyed sitting at the bar with a glass wine just chilling. We then went downstairs to our table to eat and the food was great. Had this lovely ravioli pasta, which I could have eaten again tbh it was that good. Decor is obviously all Ralph Lauren and polo-centric. Good for friends and/or for a date night.

Super hard to make reservations, but worth it ! Try the Resy app. ! Everything was perfect ! Appetizers, burger, salmon and dessert.

We suggested to a friend, staying just one night in NY and who wanted to meet us, to have diner in this restaurant. The venue is great, the food very decent and we had the surprise to bump into Woody Allen. A great evening then. BUT, back to Europe, our friend who very kindly invited us, informed us his credit cards details were stolen by an employee of the place and thousands of dollars spent out of his account! The waiter left the table with the credit card and he had plenty of time to take a picture of it and probably spread it by message ... Prior to writing this opinion, I tried to reach the Polo Bar but nobody answered to my concern nor called me back. So don’t leave your credit card unattended and don’t let the member of personnel leave with it!

Such a special place, a short trip to NYC from London and this is always where we want to go. Cocktails in the bar, a lovely atmosphere and always worth stopping by before the meal downstairs in the restaurant The burger and fries with a bottle of red, can’t be beaten Exemplary service by the staff as always Our favourite place to go Look forward to our next visit

Our party of three had a very enjoyable dinner on a Sunday evening. The atmosphere was a subdued, refined elegance. Our waiter was professional, but friendly. The drink menu is quite extensive, while the food menu is more limited promoting some simpler dishes such as hot sandwiches. My son and I had the hot corned beef sandwich, while my wife had a hamburger along with fries. The sandwiches were excellent and very substantial in size. As for drinks, my wife had the concord royale, which she said was the best cocktail that she has ever had. Beware, though, the mixed drinks are pricey. In all, we had a lovely evening in a classy atmosphere.

We were recommended to this place and it was a real pain to book but we persevered on the basis of the recommendation. Eventually the place offered us a 5pm or 10pm slot and we took the later time, but it was too late for me to eat really, but what do you do? I guess they keep all the prime slots for their rich regulars! Dress code was smart casual and the boy on the door looked us both up and down before he allowed us to enter. I liked the narrow well decorated gentlemens club style bar that served us some high priced G and T's and hot nuts to nibble before being called to our table in the restaurant below. Ralph made an appearance and gave us a smile - nice of him! We had our drinks taken off us and were led into the restaurant by a strangely dressed young lady - I guess the garb passed as stylish but if my wife had turned up in it the doorman probably would have turned us away! We were led to a nice corner table from which we could watch the good and great sip expensive vino and push lettuce leaves around their expensive plates! Our drinks never followed us downstairs and were thrown away! I had to point out that we had not finished them and replacements eventually followed some time later after we had been served our appetizers! All a little over the top for me, but my wife enjoyed the experience and did get a smile from the great man himself!

You won't be able to find a better corned beef sandwich. Love the atmosphere of the restaurant. Staff are knowledgeable and helpful. Went to celebrate daughter's birthday. Everything was perfect. We ended up coming back the next night without reservations. They accommodated us without a problem. Appetizers, drinks, dinner and dessert were all amazing! I would eat here often if I lived in NYC.

We went there, just trying to eat at the bar or just have a drink. The person/bouncer was un-polite and we were turned away quickly as if we were intruding. The two of us, had worked and opened the very first Polo Shop in Dallas and we thought it fun to have a bite and or a dring there. Boy, were we disappointed.

We really enjoyed our dinner at th ePolo Bar. Our only regret was not getting a drinks t the bar in advance of our dinner. Having read prior reviews I was a bit concerned that they would be overly stuffy about requests like “can we get a drink at the bar even though our table is ready” would fall on deaf ears. In retrospect I think he staff were more relaxed than some of those reviews suggest. Even the famously stiff door man was very friendly to a couple ahead of us that didn’t have a reservation - he didn’t let them in but did suggest they check for cancellations and all in all very polite about the situation. It is a small bar and I wholeheartedly agree with not allowing folks who don’t have reservations. Food was also excellent and both of us had chicken - Ryne had Paillard and I had brick.

Special treat for Mother’s Day which exceeded expectations. Great service and menu match by the food delivered. Thoroughly enjoyable experience. Pre and post lunch drinks in the bar were another positive experience. Well worth the planning to get a booking.

Need a chic place to have drinks? To people watch? To see elegant people? To see elegant decor? To have great drinks? To have a few nibbles? It’s here! But beware, it’s no secret and hard to get in. Also be prepared for a bill to go with the experience. But so worth it!

Let’s first start out by saying the restaurant is really cool. The ambiance is great and the food was top notch. Servers were friendly and they even had a little surprise for our anniversary. Very fun!

Excellent bar to impress the out-of-town crowd. Reservations well in advance are required, but you will see political and business “celebrities” if that lights your fire. I was most impressed by the corned beef sandwich and wine selection.

Beautiful restaurant and bar with great food, appetizers, cocktails and desserts. The ambiance truly captures the Ralph Lauren style from the decor to the waitstaff’s attire. Our family thoroughly enjoyed our Christmas Eve dinner here.

Normally you have to do reservations as the bar is always busy, but the concerige from the St. Regis booked as a table there, many thanks for the to John

We arrived a few minutes early for our reservation and enjoyed a drink at the bar. So glad we did, the fried olives were wonderful. The staff was friendly and helpful and had us seated within 15 minutes. We enjoyed the burgers and corned beef sandwiches and the dessert was delicious. Yes, there were some famous faces eating dinner there, but no one bothers them and everyone just enjoys the beautiful decor and their meals.

I have to admit I am a big Polo Ralph Lauren fan. When I am wearing casual, I normally wear something from Polo. To cut a long story short, fantastic restaurant, great service, great casual food. The booking is very complicated but once this is out of the way you are ready to go.

This is one of my favourite restaurants in New York and a must visit on any NY trip. Even though it may be hard to secure a reservation it is well worth the trouble. Love the decor so much I want to move in and live there permanently. The staff to guest ratio is very high so service levels are at a premium. Highly recommend the signature crab cakes and burgers.

Always have a great experience here, you have to book a spot 30 days out. While you can book some spots via OpenTable, the best spots are by calling to book. This instance, our waiter Michael, did a spectacular job with timely but non-aggressive service, as well as some nice food recommendations. Dress nicely, you’ll be put in better spot with similarly dressed patrons. Which means jacket and slacks, or at least a long sleeve button down shirt for guys. Terry

Five stars. Very elefant, good food, good servings, totally reasonable. A must. You must reserve in advance but totally worth it.

Beautiful decor and welcomed on time to our table as reserved. Our waiter was a bit odd from the start suggesting two women order pigs in a blanket and a corned beef sandwich as appetizers…..? We ordered a cocktail and asked to wait to order food but waiter insisted he needed to put it all on one ticket but would time our burger and corned beef sandwich entrees….before 1;4 of drink was done food was out! Didn’t like his attitude at all. The food was decent but expensive. Sadly since I love Chicago I don’t think I’ll return to the NYC location. There are so many other great choices.

We used the polo bar as a meeting spot for holiday drinks as we waited for our son who was flying in from out of town and our daughter when she got off work. It’s a warm inviting place to have a drink and escape the hustle of Fifth Avenue.

I had a work dinner in this nice New York restaurant. The food was very good, the service was excellent and the ambience was nice. I had tuna tartare and black bass and both were fresh and tasty.

Polo is a nice place with a nice atmosphere due to its name, soup and salad are very successful. Hamburger and calamari. Nothing to exaggerate by normal standards. If you have the time, stop by if we happen to be.

Clubby wood-panelled and oil painting decor. Staff not particularly welcoming. Limited gastropub type menu and everyone seems to be having a burger, which perhaps says something. Wine list mind-blowingly over-priced. Interesting to have visited once to see what the hype was all about, but wasn’t quite sure what the hype was all about …. Would not rush back.

The experience at The Polo Bar is unlike anywhere else. When you first walk in you are greeted at the door and welcomed into a long bar area. In the bar area, we were able to order drinks and served bar snacks like fried olives and nuts while waiting for the whole party to arrive. Once the party arrived, we were taken down a set of stairs to the main dining area. The atmosphere for the upstairs bar and the main dining area were very nice. Both were decorated in a traditional Ralph Lauren style (their green plaid design, wood paneling and polo silhouettes). Not only was the atmosphere nice but the staff were very friendly and professional. They were kind and all had smiles on their faces. The combination of the atmosphere and the friendly staff gave the restaurant a very warm and welcoming feel. The menu for the restaurant was a good size with good choices for many preferences. I tried many of the things on the menu such as the "OYSTERS", "PIGS IN A BLANKET", "RALPH'S CORNED BEEF SANDWICH", and "THE POLO BAR BURGER". I also tried the "COCONUT CAKE" and "THE POLO BAR BROWNIE" from the dessert menu. I highly recommend trying any or all of these items as I was impressed with them all. Overall, The Polo Bar is an amazing restaurant that I look forward to going to again. I recommend going if you're able to get a reservation as it is an experience that you will not forget.

If you are visiting NYC be sure to book a table a month in advance... it’s very busy. The atmosphere is great at the restaurant and fully packed. Has RL touch in decoration. Some of the food dishes were great, others okay.

Great for a one time visit, but I don’t think I’d return. We were sat in a back corner next to a crying baby and were jammed between tables. The summer spaghetti was delicious and the other dishes ordered were also good, but sometimes you expect the ambiance to match the quality of food for the $$, and the place was lacking in this area. If you go, request your table up front by the hostess stand for a more enjoyable meal.

Absolute highlight of a recent trip, the Polo Bar is a beautiful, leather-cladded, dim lit bar and restaurant located just off 5th avenue. The bar upstairs is intimate and quintessentially Ralph Lauren with leather panelling and equine features - arrive ahead of your dinner reservation to have a drink before heading downstairs. Cocktails are delicious as are the nibbles that come with, although the drinks and snacks did take a while to come and the order was incorrect a few times. The restaurant downstairs has a fantastic buzzy atmosphere and is beautifully decorated. Tables are not cramped and we had enough space as a party of 4 compared to many NY restaurants. Menu is concise but focuses on american classics; corn beef sandwich, caesar salad, burgers etc. ‘Popovers’ (essentially yorkshire puddings in the UK) are served on sitting down which were interesting and meant 2 of us decided not to have starters but wait for the main event. All 4 of us ordered the burger which was the best burger I’ve ever had and my favourite meal of the trip - a must order. The chips were seasoned well and very moreish. The pudding menu is also inviting, with the brownie a real treat. The wine menu is tricky and very expensive so may be worth having a cocktail upstairs and sticking to cocktails / soft drinks for supper if you’re keeping an eye on the bill. The staff were very helpful and kind; our server was attentive whilst the sommelier was very informed. Overall, I highly recommend going to drinks + / dinner at the Polo Bar, provided you can get a reservation! (We emailed saying the dates we were in the city and asking for any availability - the restaurant replied with 3 options).

Unfortunately we only made it to the bar since we walked in without a reservation - even on a Monday night. The bar menu was limited, but yummy options. The bartenders were really nice and engaging. Will have to plan better next time for the full dining experience.

Great burgers, good white wines Amazing atmosphere and stylish people, we saw even a celebrity. Very friendly staff, good communication skills. Only problem was that on the bar snacks menu it’s not mentioned that the beef sandwich comes with roast beef and not cooked beef.

Great spot for drinks . Small Bar , and great people watching . You need reso for bar . Bar tender made us a great cocktail. Expensive

We were able to celebrate my daughter’s birthday at the Polo Bar at Ralph Lauren in NYC. I love this place, it was our first time and someone was able to get us a reservation. You are asked at the door if you have reservations so I guess you can’t get in without one. The decor is charming. We were seated immediately and the service was perfect! The menu is small but all the food sounded terrific. The POPOVERS were Fantastic. The presentation was lovely. The shrimp on the shrimp cocktail were enormous. The veal and filet migon were delicious. Desserts were out of this world. I will go again 😊

The Polo Bar is elegant in the timeless manner that is the mark of Ralph Lauren. Leather, dark wood and splendid service. Very expensive but a ( sort of) budget alternative is the delicious Polo Burger. Try the excellent red wines by glas. You have to make a reservation in good time but may anyway get a table at ten. But while waiting, take a drink at the skybar at the nearby Hotel Penninsula

One of the house specialties, that corned beef sandwich is ALL THAT! The solicitous service the staff provided exceed expectations.

This is one of the most beautiful place in New York, the place to be in the upper. Food is ok, typical American, always take the burger or meat (not a fish place). Great service and incredible atmosphere. Unmissable

My wife took me here for my birthday earlier this month. It is not an easy place to get a reservation, you need to call a month out and hope to get through before everything gets booked. We sat downstairs in a corner booth for two, and our server was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We started off with oysters as an appetizer, and my wife ordered the Dover Sole which she loved. I had their 10oz filet that came with onion rings, both were delicious. Prices of course were on the high side, but that was too be expected for such an exclusive and fancy restaurant.

We booked weeks in advance and expected a great experience but unfortunately did not get this. We were put on a small table of 4 in the centre of the restaurant and found it noisy and the service was very slow. The waiting staff tried hard but in our opinion there were too many tables in such a confined space. It was impossible to enjoy the food whilst being bumped by the staff, no less than 12 times, trying to get past to serve other tables. We could not recommend this restaurant as too crowded for our liking. The food was OK but maybe the management need to look at their table lay out as felt more like a school dining room.

What a lovely experience!!! It’s is such a stunning restaurant , it feels as though you are in a movie setting . One of the prettiest restaurants we’re been to in NY. The service was amazing , our waitress was very attentive at all times. The staff are all superb and make sure you are never left unattended to. Best cheeseburger and fries we’ve had in a long time. The oysters were great , and drinks perfect! Will definitely be returning😃 The Salvatore’s Montréal

I loved everything about this restaurant - great interiors, good food and lovely service. We had a 4 year old with us and the staff was warm and friendly, happy to accomodate our requests.

We got married in New York on the 11th March 2020 and pre booked a table for our wedding evening meal. The venue was really special, decor lovely and staff friendly, polite and professional. We had great service, complementary glasses of Champagne on arrival and spoke with various members of staff/managers who couldn’t have done more for us. Was an extremely relaxed, special and fabulous experience and would highly recommend. Thank you to all that evening for making it such a special and happy memory experience:) We will see you again in the near future

We did not know what to expect when we made the reservation - other than the decor was equestrian themed. This is a clearly a place for well heeled New Yorkers, and some tourists, too. The drink in the bar were great, while we waited for our table downstairs. And, the food and service were wonderful in every way. If you don't mind paying $28 for what is arguably the BEST Reuben sandwich on the planet, you should give this place a try!

Good people watching place. Very busy bar. Food was very good and they had a varied menu so you could get anything from a hamburger or pastrami sandwich to Steak or fish. Reservations need to be made in advance. We had the concierge at The St. Regis make ours and it is right across the street from the hotel.

My daughters birthday was celebrated by a broadway show and late supper at the Polo bar. She will never forget her trip in entirety however the Polo Bar was a major highlight in the itinerary The RL fixtures and fittings make this an environment where you could imagine celebrities having a low key dinner with a clientele that would not be pestering for selfies and autographs etc Very stylish very good food and if I can get in we will definitely visit next time we are in New York

This match or chukker was an all around win! Service, food and atmosphere were well blended with quality taste and comfort.( Waited to obtain a reservation for quite some time. Cannot wait to return.) We have dined at many "fine" locations and found - The Polo Bar to be very reasonable.Attention was evident to every detail. Decor well staged. Comfortable.

Great place. Decked out really nicely, the food did not disappoint. Great service all round, would definitely recommend making time for a drink at the bar beforehand.

I went recommended by a friend and reviews and it was great. Very nice place. You really feel great looking the decoration, and the environment. Service is very good as it is the food. I have the sensation I was in another time and another place. A very good music with the perfect volume. Prices are high, but you know that before going. So, go to this restaurant and enjoy everthing.

We had a wonderful dinner & experience at the Polo Bar celebrating our daughter’s graduation. Everyone was very friendly, from Marina who made our reservation to Carlos our outstanding server. The food was excellent, and the entire evening was magical. I highly recommend.

Absolutely!. The service, food and ambiance was impeccable. Reservations are a must and may be difficult to get. Once inside you are made to feel special and cared for with enthusiasm by the attentive staff

These reservations can be hard to come by, but if you can get one, it’s a fun experience. It has a very preppy vibe as one would expect. The food is delicious and the portions are really large. It’s great for people watching as well.

Went there for my fiancée anniversary and the experience was simply perfect from start to finish. Food is amazing and service is out of this world. Will be back for sure when I come back to the big apple!

In NYC for Thanksgiving holiday and attended restaurant for dinner with my family. I have eaten at the "sister" property in Chicage and had high expectations. Restaurant is next to Trump Tower. Across the street from our hotel. Restaurant is downstairs. I did not notice an elevator. Design, colour and décor of restaurant is rich and appealing. Great ambiance. Country club/upscale/traditional. Big fan of RL designs. Weird restaurant. Very pretentious. Most patrons appeared to be locals. We had a table near the entry and almost every patron coming in hugged the hostess. Who knew New Yorkers were huggers? Food was very disappointing. Steak is from Lauren's ranch in Colorado and was way under cooked. Ordered medium but steak came out rare. Sent back and returned a hockey puck (ruined). As far as steak Double Eagle is far superior. Chicken. One of us ordered chicken and it was pounded flat a pancake. It was way over cooked and completely bland. I had a taste of it and it was terrible. Way over cooked chicken with a splash of lemon. Salmon was fine. Similiar to Salmon at a Double Eagle (Del Frisco's). My son gave a thumbs up to the Burger. He said it was good. Who cannot make a $28 burger with fries. Son ordered an Arnold Palmer. Server came out with a sweet tea. My son told her he ordered an Arnold Palmer. Server took the tea and came back with an Arnold Palmer but charged me for both. Not impressed. Note that the server never asked us, how is your food! I have never been to an upscale restaurant where I was not asked if we were happy with the food and if it was prepared as expected. I am a regular patron at a restaurant where the servers always ask if the food is exceptional or perfect. Server was vary aloof and maybe did not ask because she knew food is not great or even good. When she brought the bill she never asked if we enjoyed out dinner, thanked us for our patronage or invited us to come back! Advice if you cannot get to Chicago then attend the restaurant in NYC, just for the ambiance, and order burgers. Nothing else is worth ordering. .

Look price is not an issue but here I felt that there was not money value. The setting is stunning (English club meet Hampton residential circa 1980), the service so attentive and the food very good but was the dinner worth 220$ per person? The answer is no. My feeling is that you pay also for the exclusivity of the place and while I am OK with Harry’s Bar in Venice, The Polo Bar in NY doesn’t have the same…appeal! Anyway: done that!

Let me start by saying a few amazing things- the decor is seriously top notch, the drinks are thoughtful and well balanced, and the popovers may be the best I’ve ever had. The concept is well thought out all the way down to the peppermills on the table. Unfortunately, this doesn’t make up for the lackluster dinner. 5 of us came for dinner and 5 of us left unimpressed by the food. I would go back for the ambiance and sit at the bar.

The perfect spot for a cozy, New York night. We were here just before Christmas and the atmosphere is perfection. You get whisked inside by a thick, velvet curtain and enter a world of mirror, leather, and the perfect lighting. We sat downstairs and the service was perfection. We ate so much! We had the (massive) shrimp cocktail, pigs in a blanket and salad to start, then I had the burger, my husband the corned beef sandwich, and our friend the crab cake and some Vesper martinis. We split the incredible ice cream sundae for dessert. The decor is perfection. The leather seating, the lighting, the music, everything is perfect. Absolutely recommend if you can get a reservation.

Party of seven well looked after at a good sized round table. Menu has a range of mid and upper range prices.

Another experience I had in NYC that is an absolute must try. Took a while to get a reservation, but worth it if you're in anyway interested in hospitality. The decor amazing, the service great, the drinks fantastic. Its something to do once in your life. The ultimate intimate date-night destination.

What a fabulous restaurant and bar! The food was done to perfection! Ambiance old NYC! The bar was warm and inviting. The snacks delivered with your drinks was an awesome touch! If it is good enough for Tony Bennett it’s goid enough for me! ( he walked into the bar as we were waiting) The problem is scoring a reservation!!!

From the moment one steps inside the Polo Bar, you are made to feel special by the staff! Reservations only and in advance. The menu options are just enough to choose from and it is all great. The crispy calamari and zucchini was delicious. The BLT salad, Ralph's corned beef sandwich, the Polo Bar Burger. A classic restaurant by Ralph Lauren. Excellent service.

This is a very nice place to eat....by reservation only. Simple but very nice food with the best service. A wonderful night to be repeated every time we visit NYC. Love the corn beef sandwich, perfect sole and wonderful sundae. Lovely drinks and amazing olives and chips served with them. The gruyere Pop overs are out of this world.....Will be back !

Cosy and very beautiful interior, but somehow pretentious especially regarding the waitors who were not very friendly either. The food was okay, nothing to highlight but good. Nice atmosphere to have dinner with friends or family !

We visit NY regularly and were told this was a great place to go. After months of trying to get a reservation, I finally had the hotel concierge get us in on our next visit a month later, but only at 5:30. That was fine since we just came back from Europe and we’re not yet fully on Eastern time. When we arrived, there was a lady at the door with a tablet, and you couldn’t get past her until she checked your reservation. We then checked in inside, and were sent downstairs where we had to check in again. The place was packed and noisy. We were seated, but the noise was so loud, we asked to be moved to a quieter place which they did, but it wasn’t really any quieter. The tables were so packed together, that I had to move my table in order not to be hitting the guy’s back next to me. The waiter came to tell us the specials and he was screaming it at us. He was probably hard of hearing from working here. We ordered a shrimp cocktail that was good and medium hamburgers. We will always order medium anywhere and hope they do not overcook it. These could have been listed as steak tartare. The fries while greasy may have been hand cut, but were so so and salty. We couldn’t wait to leave and went back to the hotel where we had Lady M strawberry shortcake in the refrigerator. It’s a joke that you cannot get in here, and isn’t something I’ll have to worry about in the future.

You don't feel like you are in NY. Love it! Chic and exclusive. You immediately enter in to the high end lifestyle of RL. Great meals, friendliest staff & A1 ambience! Servers need a little better training but I'll continue going on monthly basis either for drinks or meals. Excellent celebrity sight seeing ! P.S: Don't have more pics cause is almost known that is a no call policy here. So you look odd taking pics. But trust me you need no pics to tell you how great of a time this is.

The Polo Bar is very New York! It is glitzy and glamorous and very polished! The service is excellent and food of a very high quality. I went here with friends. We had drinks at the bar until our group had all arrived and the bar staff were excellent. The staff in the main restaurant were also superb and all very friendly. We ordered steaks, lobster rolls, prawn cocktail and more and it was all delicious! We drunk excellent wine and overall it was not ridiculously expensive. It wasn't cheap but well worth what we paid for what was an excellent dinner in a fabulous setting wit superb service. Everything you would expect from a top NY restaurant! We loved it!

We went here before a show in New York city. My daughter suggested this restaurant. Overall it exceeded our expectations. We started with drinks upstairs in the bar near the fireplace. The service was great, the drinks very good and the little appetizers they served us were delicious. We especially like the fried green olives. Dinner was very good too. We split entrees and they were all served very nicely for us. My wife and I shared the veal chop milanese which was HUGE! It too was delicious. Service was very attentive

We arrived on time for our Saturday night dinner reservation; however they did not have our dinner table ready until 30 minutes later. However - you are welcome to sit at the bar, and moreover - I discovered that this was a place that really allowed us to take our time eating, mingling and enjoying ourselves - they do not rush you, at all - that's probably the reason for our wait. Every single worker was perfectly polite, warm, freindly, and attentive. My son had the shrimp cocktail, we had popovers, drinks, and we both ordered the burger with fries. All of it was perfectly delicious! The burger is to die for, and melts in your mouth! We did have some special burger that evening (sorry I don't remember all of the toppings, but I know that there was blue cheese, grilled onions, bacon...). The diners on the table next to us, somehow knocked plates and glasses over (perhaps one was tipsy), and the wait staff promptly and discreetly changed out their entire linen and replaced all of their food, without making them feel bad. We were having a fun, great time amongst our party, and everyone around us were too. We even enjoyed conversation with the staff! But 2 hours later, we realized that we were late for an occasion in downtown, and the waiter expressed a little sadness that we weren't able to look at dessert. No rushing the guests at all. Our check was only approximately $150 for two people, with drinks and dinner. Compared to another place that we dined at while visiting NYC, where we spent well over twice what we spent here - this was the best dining experience that we had in NYC!

The Polo Bar did not disappoint. The service was top notch. We ordered burgers, fries and mashed potatoes - these were the best mashed I’ve ever had. Prior to our meal they brought us fresh bed from a basket and even served gluten free bread! We ordered the caramel sundae for dessert which was amazing. The iv talk service and food were impeccable. Highly recommend.

The concierge at our hotel (Peninsula) made a reservation at 5 pm for three people. At 5 pm we were greeted at the door by a woman who after checking her tablet said that couldn’t find our reservation. One of us went to the hotel to get the confirmation letter, by the time we got and gave her the confirmation letter, she said: I found your reservation. Then she let us in and a man at the reception area argued that he didn’t find the reservation, he made us wait at the bar area in the meantime he was looking for our reservation. After a while he came with a lady who said that Austin the guy who works there didn’t let them know about our reservation. After all this hustle they decided to give us a table. By that time we were so upset that we decided to leave the premises and never ever como this place. They are highly unprofessional and lack basic organization skills. Trust me: this is like all those places where you say: H & G …… Hi and Goodbye

We were graciously welcomed at the outside entrance of THE POLO BAR by a lady standing under a heat lamp. From the moment we stepped into the restaurant until our departure the evening was exceptional. First impression was that the restaurant is absolutely elegant. The exquisite furnishings and lighting, befitting a film studio, was flattering to all. It took me back to former times when society, regardless of status, appreciated, “The finer things in life.” We enjoyed a Moscow Mule as well as an Old Fashioned Bourbon before dinner. The Wild Salmon and Veal were both perfection. After dinner drinks and conversation contributed to the memorable experience. The staff fluidly performed their duties. I would be remiss if I did not acknowledge Michael H. our server. He combined professionalism with discretion and humor which we appreciated. Proper attire and manners for any occasion, shows respect not only for one’s self but for others in attendance. I mention this after reading some negative reviews.

After 7 days we decided to try some American cuisine. We fell in love ! Ambiance and cocktails are amazing ! Food is pretty good ! Just the fries were not as good as advertise. The desert menu is pretty satisfying and taste are good... Try getting there little before your reservation time and enjoy cocktail at the bar, it’s a must ( watch handsome bartender )

Reservations needed!!! Great ambiance, beautiful decor, the food is fantastic and the service excellent. Highly recommended.... The bread is freshly baked popovers... yummm The Burger was great, Chicken Paillard was good, the French fries amazing and the 5 layer chocolate cake just perfect!!! Will definitely be back.

It is beautiful, serene, decorated like you hope it would be if you were invited to Ralph and Ricky's home in the countryside and the food is simply delicious. Forget Per Se, Le Bernardin, Daniel. They are certainly delicious and have beautifully painted plates, but if you want especially delicious food that is recognizable and memorable...this is the place. On my last trip to NYC we had soft shelled crabs and a chocolate brownie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream that was THE BEST ever. The rest of the menu has wonderful choices as well. Just remember to make a reservation well in advance because tables are hard to get in the downstairs restaurant which is preferred over eating in the bar upstairs. By the way, Ralph was there eating with some friends. It was fun to see my favorite designer. :-)

One of our faves. We try to come every time I’m in NYC. Note reservations are required. The bar is fabulous-make sure you allow enough time before dinner to have at least one cocktail & the out of this world fried olives. Dinner is divine-corned beef sandwich, chicken paillard, veal Milanese, crab cake, fried calamari, filet, tuna tartare, chocolate cake. Have enjoyed every meal I’ve had here.

The service is world class real NYC fine dinning experience. The staff are great and welcoming. Brain did an amazing job explaining the items in the menu. His service is world class that is missed in NYC by most other restaurants. The food is good with great flavor especially on the seasonal vegies section. Busy restaurants with the service and quality really high

Exactly what you would expect…gorgeous setting, impeccable service, delicious food. Of course only downside is pain to get the reservation but dare I say totally worth it. Will attempt to visit on every visit to NYC in the future. Literally still thinking about every single dish - appetizers through dessert. Do it! I didn’t even care that the reservation was at 5:30.

Great spot if you can get a reservation, everything was outstanding, unbelievable corned beef, good Steaks, delicious Veal, Great mixed drinks, outstanding Wine list, Top Notch, Great Service

We went at the Polo bar for late drinks. We loved the place, the atmosphere, the service and the quality of drinks! A classic must midtown!

We were visiting with friends. We loved the bar atmosphere but sat in the dining room downstairs. We order the Dover Sole (over 70 dollars) which was great but not worth the price. The pigs in a blanket and special sea bass were good but again not worth the price. The Truffle Mushroom ravioli was incredible and worth the visit. Service is a bit slow and snooty. If you decide to eat here be prepared to pay $150 per person for dinner.

It was a last minute booking and we were very lucky in having a table for the same day. For Ralph Lauren’s fans this place is a must-go. Great decoration, great ambience and great food. Sophisticated but not pretentious. Real food, far from the nouvelle cuisine “mignardises”. Best burger and cheese cake I had in a long time . We’ll surely return!

We loved every minute, from the moment we were greeted at the door until the moment we left the cozy atmosphere, we knew we were in a special place. Frank, the bartender, is an absolute professional and has a broad knowledge of all spirits and cocktails. We loved the complimentary fried olives, nuts and crisps served with cocktails. Per everyone's recommendation we ordered the burger, it was cooked to a perfect mid-rare as ordered and served with delicious crisp fries. Our server Rebecca was attentive and gave excellent service. Watching the people and seeing the "power" dinner meetings was part of the experience. Will definitely go back!

So I’ve been dying to go to this place, but have always heard that it’s super hard to get in. One of my favorite folks got us an early reservation on open table. We headed over and they delivered on all accounts from the homemade chips, fried olives and smooth tequila at the bar to the decadent desserts with all of the delicious food devoured during our night, the so ‘polo’ decor, the famous people sightings and most importantly the best service that I’ve ever had. I’m glad that I finally made it. I’ll be back. THE POLO BROWNIE IS EVERYTHING!!! #CheckOutThatChocolateDrizzle #FancyAndFun #BasicsDoneWell

From the reservation, that they leave you on the phone for a long time, after asking for your name and phone number (while they could be googling you), only to tell you that they don't have a place for you from 8:30 to closing. No soup for you! After getting a table through the Concierge of my hotel, I was treated like I was not welcome, not really wanted in the restaurant, from the front door. The person corrected the pronunciation of my friend's name in the reservation, as he didn't know how to say his own name. Rude to the maximum. The very snob personnel communicates through a snob secret-service-like walki talkie, talking to their wrists like they are controlling a very important operation. Everyone in the place treats you like you're a petulant, trespassing the limits of the castle of Sir RL, expecting to be treated as an equal, which you are not, you silly. They behave like they're making you a big favor serving you dinner, since they had much more important tasks to perform, had you not have the audacity to come in for a burger. The wine expert suggested a $700 bottle of wine. When we said that we perhaps wanted something else, he vanished to never come back. Not interested in orienting customers who can't afford a simple $700 bottle of wine! How dare these people! The burger was ok, but this outrageous place will never see me again. NY has thousands of burger joints that will appreciate my business. I hope this garbage closes soon, for good. It hurts the brand.

Really nothing special here. Food very average, decor.....aren’t we tired of this preppy look horse pictures and saddles everywhere. The dining room is in the basement. There is a culture and attitude here from reservations to management of snobbishness. We were three families together that have eaten here often but none of us will be back

The atmosphere/ambiance was perfection as one would expect from R.L. The service was satisfactory; however, the entrees were a huge disappointment. The chicken paillard was served at room temperature, grilled with zero flavor/seasoning - definitely not the traditional French/authentic version. The fresh vegetables, served with the paillard, were also room temperature and flavorless. Had the Polo Bar’s version of chicken paillard been served at a Weight Watcher’s luncheon - we would have still been disappointed. The Polo Bar’s chicken paillard was an uninteresting, skimpy, tasteless (pricey) piece of poultry. The veal milanese was very average. There are a plethora of NYC neighborhood Italian restaurants who excel with this beloved dish from Milan - The Polo Bar does not. The Dover sole was delicious but it needed to be. The Polo Bar has got to be one of the most overrated restaurants in the city. We won’t be returning.

We were looking forward to a beautiful experience at the Polo Bar. The atmosphere is exclusive and we were seated at an exceptional table. The experience went downhill from there. The service staff were below par…not a little…but a lot. We ordered a bottle of Krug champagne at $400 a bottle but were only served half of it and at room temperature. I asked the sommelier to chill the bottle which always means to provide an ice bucket and ice. If the champagne is not cold enough, the general rule is to chill the bottle in ice and to serve it when it reaches the correct temperature. In our case, the bottle disappeared and we had to constantly ask our waiter if we could be served the champagne that we paid for. I was later informed that the Polo Bar does not provide ice buckets unless the customer requests one which is quite an amateur policy for this type of establishment. Having dined at other Ralph Lauren properties, you are always provided a champagne bucket with ice at the table, especially for a premium bottle of champagne. The management is completely lacking in the luxury experience which shows is how the staff behaves in a completely aggressive and frankly rude manner towards the customers. This appears to be a consistent theme from other reviews as well. Before we left, we decided to have a final drink at the bar. When we asked for one gin and tonic, the bartender proceeded to shout (yes, shout in an aggressive and quite frankly rude manner) that he told the ¨blonde¨(a respected real estate executive) that it was last call. When I asked why it was last call at 11 pm while the rest of the restaurant was still being served, he began to mock me and embarrass me in front of my guests. At this point, I asked to speak to the manager. The manager did nothing....not even the expected apology for what was now a ruined evening. He merely stated that he would work on that issue tomorrow and that I would receive a phone call. The call nor the apology never came. While we were speaking, a group of young women who were clearly intoxicated fell off of their bar stools and onto the floor. No one from the restaurant made any attempt to help them up. Not a good look for this type of restaurant but indicative of the low level of customer service. We went away deeply disappointed and wondering how the management could have allowed this property´s standards to fall so low. It felt like the staff was both angry and scared which does not help when you are trying to create a luxury experience. It’s quite sad because the venue deserves the best and this restaurant does not deliver.

Great atmosphere. Great service. Great food. Reservations are not an easy get, but once you do you'll enjoy it.

Burnt food twice in the same evening ! They don’t even make it up to you ! Won t be back. THIS PLACE IS GOING COMPLETELY DOWNHILL

It was nice returning after the lockdown. It was great to be in this high energy fun restaurant when we have all been so isolated. The stunning equestrian hunter green and wood décor sets the warm ambiance as well. Go to the bathroom! It is even stunning in there with great attention paid to every detail. The staff is excellent and well trained. We will miss Grace but Cameron is a really nice guy. Our waiter, Stefano, was terrific and attentive and funny and charming. We now come here for our anniversary celebrations. Tired of the uptight, pretentious places with weird foods. This place is so comfortable and the men in my family love pigs in a blanket and hamburgers. Who doesn't? And here the hamburgers are exceptional and cooked to perfection. Of course we always love the popovers that start the meal. Combine that with some Schramsberg sparkling wine and you have a party! For dessert, the sundaes with the candied nuts are great and the chocolate cake is decadent. Did I forget to mention the fried olives with our cocktails - I forgot I missed those too! We always love the proximity of the tables and since we are social we always end up talking to the people next to us if we are in a booth. Met great people this time. Great food. Great ambiance. Great staff. Great evening!

I don't like the Polo restaurant as some of the staff can be useless especially on arrival and keep you waiting ages for your table without apologies and even for a drink while waiting. One of the reception staff was so snotty in her manner that she could have frozen the entrails off a rabbit! A complimentary drink would have been appropriate for no seats and a 30 minute wait but was not offered. If I had turned up 30 minutes late for my table I doubt they would have held it for me. They don't even have enough seats upstairs for people such as me who are kept waiting too long for pre-reserved tables as there are so many non-diners using the upstairs bar. It is unacceptable to be kept waiting for 30 minutes in the seeming chaos of their crowded upstairs bar for a table that was pre-booked. I've now dined here three times but never again! The actual restaurant is downstairs in the basement and many of the tables are far too close together and badly positioned, especially those by the wall on the far left once you get downstairs. Our waiter clearly thought he was special...yet he forgot part of our order. It is clearly impossible at many of the tables to have a private conversation or dine without having to see other people, directly opposite and far too close, some with with bad dining habits, eating. They are facing you! There are some terrible tables that are best avoided. Food was OK. I will never return. They are so busy they can't provide a decent service in any way commensurate with the prices they charge.

We loved the vibe of this restaurant it’s very friendly classy you feel like your somewhere special. It was deffinetly a beautiful special occasion dinner! The only negatives were steak came out to pink after we asked for well well done and then he just re cooked out cut in half pieces again and left out side of chips and cauliflower out so we ate them so they didn’t get cold for a $200 + meal you would maybe expect them to re place and bring out new hot food. All together. But anyway aside from that note we truly enjoyed the food and service it was very nice and nice they did a little birthday message on the dessert.

We had a great experience at the Polo Bar. The reservation was surprisingly easy to make online a week or two in advance. The atmosphere is very unique and cute and the excessive amount of hostesses makes it feel more exclusive. Service was good and didn’t feel pretentious. The food was very good for the price, I was shocked it wasn’t more expensive.

Always lively attractive crowd ! Delicious specialities and favorites on the menu! Young friendly accommodating waitstaff Beautiful decors-like a great English gentleman’s club. Seriously difficult reservation to obtain, but well worth it! (I’ve been about 10 times since they opened Several years ago.)

The Polo Bar is located just off of the corner of 5th Ave and 55th street across from the St Regis Hotel. It is one of those New York landmarks that are hard to get a reservation for dinner at a decent hour. We had a friend who was a regular and so were able to get in at 6:00 pm. The bar area is tight and was packed. That was just for people who had dinner reservations and were waiting. It is a full bar with a good wine list. The restaurant is downstairs and the room is beautiful. It is a place to go to see and be seen. While the food is excellent and the menu extensive, we all had burgers. These may be some of the best burgers in NY but they are not cheap. Two burgers, 3 glasses of wine, a gin & tonic and an appetizer were $166.85. The rest of the menu is equally expensive but it is as much an experience as a meat it is worth a visit for the scene.l. I personally would not go there often

Polo Bar has had better days. Menu has barely changed in 3 years and service is a bit off for the “extreme difficulty” to get a reservation. That being said, food is good. But fake demand at restaurants is getting old. Restaurant was half empty but they made us jump thru non-existent hoops.

We thought we would stop and have a cocktail and check the place out but, we were not allowed in without a reservation. The concierge got a reservation for dinner. We had so much fun. My veggie burger was probably the worst I’ve ever had but didn’t matter. There is a great energy in the room that is worth a visit. We had a drink at the bar before we left and again they checked our reservation.

Go for the burger, one of the best in Paris! (the rest is more average/overprices) Beautiful setting especially the terrace in summer.

Loved everything about this restaurant! Walking in to this Ralph Lauren restaurant is exactly fitting to the stores, clothes and brand itself. Old world charm mixed with a gentleman’s club decorated in exquisite Ralph Lauren Polo decor, think lots of tan leather with beautifully framed photographs of magnificent horses and Polo scenes with good looking people. The music is smooth jazz and the tables are set with white cloths, crockery monogrammed with The Polo Bar in British green. It has a homely atmosphere. The service is excellent and patrons are made to feel special. We were given beef pig in blankets to start and the most delicious popover bread! We ate beef burgers and fries followed by a layered coconut cake and double layer chocolate cake! All delicious and worth going back for!!

11/10/2019 AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE! A confirmed reservation was worthless. Forced to wait 1.5 HOURS in the bar, surrounded by bridge and tunnel wanna-bee "aristocrats," all for the privilege of having dinner with the thrill of a possible sighting of a third tier celebrity. Even worse, no employees exhibit any graciousness, warmth, or understanding. Since this place has been open for approximately 5 years, there is no excuse for overbooking. It's all done deliberately to create the aura of an "exclusive" destination. This proves why private clubs still thrive in New York City.

Pretends to be a traditionalist English club house but is rather grouped in the section of American country club with an overload of RL esthetic. Food was decent, service was a tad stressed. I wouldn't bother to return there are better establishments in the city (it is definitely overhyped).

The Polo Bar is my family's favorite restaurant. Everyone loves the All-American menu and the cozy atmosphere. The service was top-notch. The only problem is getting a reservation! You have to plan in advance!

The food was sooooooooooooo delicious and the service was definitely FIRST CLASS. There is an elevator to go down to the restaurant and back up to the bar, which is great. The menu is truly mouthwatering and such a fantastic choice. The ambiance is beautiful and being a huge lover of horses I throughly loved the POLO theme. There is an accessible restroom on the same floor as the restaurant. The bar for pre-dining or/and after dinner drinks/cocktails is beautiful with no 'rushing you' You're warmly welcomed from a door person which begins the whole Ralph Lauren's The Polo Bar dining that extra special feel. During the meal the waiting staff are courteous and do not hover so dining is very relaxing. They are extremely professional as they instantly know if you wish to ask something. The food is presented so beautifully and tastes so delicious and cooked to perfection. The beautiful desert menu makes deciding what to indulge in very difficult. The Polo Bar is DEFINITELY another place I will dine at again and again when I'm in New York. Making the reservation was fairly easy although booking well in advance probably helped. Thank you, to EVERYONE at The Polo Bar, everything was FIRST CLASS.
Excellent service, great dinner, perfect drinks
Make a reservation and head on over for a wonderful night. Kind and attentive service, with friendly staff that is down to earth and interesting. Facility is quirky, clean and comfortable. Dinner is simple and very good. Drinks are enjoyable with many fresh ingredients. Definitely stop here if your south of Central Park.
