That's a real bar with party atmosphere and you can have a breathtaking view to the city. The interior decoration is nice in line with the expectation of a bar like this and with the price level. You should book a table if you want to visit at the weekend and be prepared for a very nicely dressed, high classes people. Staff is kind and helpful and you will not feel different attention if you are tourist and you didn't bring your nicest clothes with you.

Great setting with stunning views of the New York skyline, especially great spot for the Empire State building. We had not reserved so were told that we would need to be by the bar rather than seated but after about 5 minutes, a high seated table became free so we were able to sit there. Cocktails were $20 but quite strong still and the rooftop terrace is a great picture opportunity with the backdrop.

Nice view, but poor service. The barman was busy. Most cocktails were not available for some reason. And the cocktail we ordered was quite basic, not worth the price by a great margin.

We visited some rooftop bars during our New York trip. This one really stood out from the crowd. Superb views from the 30th floor of the Empire State Building. You have to make a reservation in advance. Good cocktails and delicious snacks. Service was fine, not so forced and friendly. Highly recommended!

Firstly let me say I did a lot of research when deciding where we should go to watch the ball drop in NYC for NYE. We have initially thought we'd join the crowds on the street but after doing much research into that I decided against it. After looking at many venues we decided on The Skylar. (A hi - we got a Uber straight away from our Central Park South hotel, at 8pm, to W36 street/7th avenue, and walked the 5 mins from there. Got through the police barrier no probs, no crowds.) It was mid range price wise from what's out there (still definitely a lot of money for us) but it was our elopement wedding day! We went for the premium seated tickets at $575. I actually think it was more than worth the money. The service w hias superb all night, drinks constantly flowing. They didn't have much to offer us food wise (vegan) so they offered us a $150 bottle of champagne as an apology! The view was far better than we could of hoped for. The atmosphere amazingly. Fun photo booth. Up to the roof top at midnight for another direct view...a truly unforgettable experience. No NYE will ever be so good! Thank you The Skylar.

We held an office party here. You can purchase an unlimited drink and food plan for your group. They set up a little bar by your table with a cheap white and red wine and a cocktail. Meanwhile all the other drinks are served by a waitress who is never around. You have to wait 30 minutes for any drinks you order. This bar might tell you it’s unlimited alcohol with your package, but good luck finding anyone to get it. There were plenty of servers standing around but only your waitress could bring you a drink. What a scam! The views were beautiful though. I would not come back.

Incredible views of NYC, but that was it really. Very disappointed with the service. Venue lacks any atmosphere and was very quiet. After waiting at least 15 minutes for a cocktail, we were made finish them while a security man stood over us as closing time approached. Didn't try the food after seeing how long it took to just get a drink. The high prices are not justified.

This fancy place, with the Empire State Building in full view, was a great place to celebrate a friend's wedding. There was dancing, delicious hors d'oeuvres and the only thing missing was a main course!

Their Fort Knox (a Manhattan with Mexcal) was awesome and the Sweet Potatoes Fries were delicious. I was hoping to sit at the bar, but they do not have bar seating. The bartender and manager were very accomodating though and I was seated at a two seat high top. This is a great place to go with friends and to take in the views. Next time I hope the weather is better and can sit outside.

A nice choice if you want to drink a cocktail in a real bar, near Times Square. We went at around 10 pm and the place had as many people as you ideal want in a bar. Surrounding by skyscrapers, definitely deserves a visit.

Fabulous service by Ashleigh as always, very attentive and friendly. Lovely atmosphere and food is lovely and always hot.

Was looking forward to this but it was poor. We went for cocktails but no food so was told we could only sit in the bar area. This was heaving and tables all reserved yet no one sat at them. Bar service was poor and took ages to get served. We found another area which we could sit at but this had no bar or waitress service so was pointless. We had one drink and left. Only reason it gets two stars is the view is amazing and the door staff polite. Won’t be returning. No air con so was stuffy.

My friend and I were caught with a transportation delay so we decided to get some dinner and drinks. We walked a little bit and stumble to this lounge. I would have not expected on that block between 8th Avenue and 7th on 39th street. First you go in, walk around a dark wide hallway that leads to a freight elevator and a security. You get on the elevator and on the 30th floor you’ll see a host stand where they will sit you. The place is on the dark side and has a lot of little steps. There are spots for two and small groups. The view is pretty nice - rounded by buildings and the view of the ball drop. They have an open and unisex bathroom. The stalls are made of floor to ceiling door - thank god! Small bar. Prices are comparable to other high rise lounges. The staff wears black. Some of them are ok and some of them are down to earth. Food is actually good but minimal.

We stopped by this bar to have a drink after dinner. Very pleased with how clean the lounge was. Great atmosphere. The DJ was great as well.

Fabulous view with a hidden and intriguing entrance. One of the best tequila drinks I have had since my last visit to Tuscon. They offer small plates as tasty as their drinks. Restaurant/bar # 4 on our quest for New York's best. Ask for the Borracho Amigo cocktail and the Mac & Cheese cupcakes. This is a new bar but popular. Limited seating for sunset viewing. Better make a reservations.

Fabuleux rooftop. Very good atmosphere. Impeccable service. Tapas are delicious. Cocktails are divine. We will gladly return

Return trip to New York after 40 years and wanted to do do things a little differently rather than repeat experiences. Why pay $30+ to go to top of Empire State Building when you can come here and have the best views of it and get a couple of cocktails for the same price? We ate there food was pretty good. Serves reasonable size and not outrageously priced. Best value experience we had in 4 days in NewYork. I booked through open table and we waked right in. Glad we booked as it was pretty busy when we arrived.pretty quiet when we left about 10:30 so maybe ok without a booking later.

Not a huge place but get a table out by the edge and see fantastic views on the NYC skyline and Hudson river. Perfect for sunsets! Wine list and food are pretty good; and the service is very pleasant, but you'd visit here for the sunsets!

Moderately priced for NYC standards, fantastic views to every direction. Only had cocktails. Visited on a Tuesday. No cover charge.

Radiziki the host is amazing and so is the venue. Great cocktails, snacks, and DJ. Make a reservation if you’re going after 9pm.

The view is great and is open to the Empire State Building and, further away, Summit One Vanderbilt, the place is quiet and would seem frequented more by locals than tourists, kind waiters, music a bit loud. Good cocktails we took and fair prices, considering the location. Cute balcony with circular light for selfies, the upper terrace was unfortunately closed for rain. Overall a pleasant solution to see New York from above.

Um... Nice bar, great views but overpriced cocktails that are too strong to even swallow... We don't usually leave drinks but this time we did.... two cocktails came to £30.. don't think we're go back.

The views were brilliant! Service not so much! The sever was chewing away on gum with her arms crossed looking as if she didn’t want to be there and I was an inconvenience to her. She ignored our table completely and gave me attitude when I had to go to the bar to get another drink. wouldn’t return as the lowest tipping option was 20% which I very much didn’t want to give her. There’s so many NYC rooftop bars to give your money too with severs who are professional and appreciative.

The cocktails were good but pricey, but you're paying for the gorgeous view of midtown and the Empire State Building. There is an indoor and outdoor seating area, both with great views. Nice date spot.

I can start by saying the place is a great find, beautiful, amazing views, expensive but delicious cocktails and everyone in the restaurant beyond great…BUT, when my brother who was running behind arrived (I had a nice cold $25 martini waiting for him upstairs) he was told he was not dressed appropriately and he was not getting it. When he called up to tell me I could see that 90% of the patrons were in shorts jeans very casually dressed as were several in my group. The manager (also wearing jeans and sneakers) offered to go down and get him but he was furious and refusing to come back at that point. I guess if you are a middle aged dude with red hair dressed in black jeans shoes and a polo shirt you’re not gonna make the cut! Really disappointing

We visited the Skylark Bar after seeing a show on Broadway.. We were greeted by friendly staff and shown to our table. The views from this venue are spectacular. The decor is modern and distinctly Manhattan... The food is great and prices are what you expect to pay at a venue like this ... A great place for drinks when in New York

Went for a business drinks and wasn’t too crowded. Great views from the outdoor patio of the Empire State Building!

We decided to go here for a cocktail as a group of 4. Ignored for ten mins when we went in. Decided to get menus ourselves at the bar. We accidentally picked up a bill and brought it back to our table with the menus which and were chased for it.(after being ignored for a long time previously) We sat for another ten minutes and a girl was asking several tables if they would like a drink and completely ignored us. We decided to go to the bar instead and order ourselves. There were three bar staff there who were so rude and didn't ask our order and avoided eye contact. At this point we decided to leave and find another cocktail bar. We came across the Refinery which was amazing. Service and atmosphere was superb so go there. It's only a few mins walk from skylark and way nicer.

We were celebrating a 60th birthday this weekend so made a trip to Skylark as part of the experience. The cocktails are delicious, great views over the city, we ate snacks too which were good. Staff were attentive & assisted with the obligatory photos too! The atmosphere was good & as we sat inside we could easily chat to one another. The outside terrace is another level, very busy, loud music & a younger vibe. Glad we went, as with a lot of high up bars in New York, it looks nothing from the outside but is worth a visit. I can’t remember if we had to produce ID here but it’s worth having a photo copy of your passport on your phone, a lot of places check for security purposes as well as checking bags, reassuring necessity these days. All round great experience.

The views are amazing as is the food and drinks but make sure you bring plenty of cash as it’s not cheap! Worth a visit but don’t stay all night! We were here for a couple of hours which was plenty of time. Short rib pops and the cheese board was very good. Ginger mule was my favourite cocktail.

A nice evening experience with a choice of lovely food. The views across the city are stunning and the atmosphere is first class. The service from the staff is very good and I would recommend the beef sliders as they were delicious. Overall a wonderful evening and would visit again when next in the city.

We booked in advance, letting them know that it was a special occasion. I also checked for a dress code. We arrived to be told by a (very casually dressed) doorman that there was a no shorts policy (and despite us seeing lots of pictures of guys in here wearing - yes - shorts). This was right after he'd just let two guys in t-shirts, jeans and trainers in... to put it into perspective, my other half was dressed in a long sleeved shirt and chino shorts. Very odd, considering that we visited 3 other high end rooftop bars during our stay in NY and none insisted on a strict dress code. I'm guessing this is just a pretentious place trying to be something it's not, especially after reading some of the more recent reviews. For real class, try Bar Sixty Five.

This review is specifically meant for this past Friday. March 6th. I called at 5 pm to inquire about having dinner there for 2 at 615 630. I was told by the hostess that reservations not needed. Ok. Proceed to walk there with my wife in rain and upon arrival I was asked if I had a reservation. I replied no and advised the young woman that I had called about an hour ago and was told no reservation was needed to eat. She said well you can stand at the bar or be put on the waitlist for seating or we could sit now but had to get up in 30 minutes for reservation. I responded why didn’t you advise me of this when I called an hour ago but she replied I didn’t speak to her. Seriously? There were several table’s unoccupied and I asked an Asian gentleman who I assumed was manager about this and he asked the hostess stand. Lol. I’ve been here 20 times and have nothing but good things to say but this was amateur hour by a disorganized crew who happened to be working at that hour. Ill be back but retrain your staff. I’m sure the principal Owners wouldn’t be thrilled with letting $250 walk out the door for no reason. Just advise your customers to make a reservation to sit down to eat. It isn’t brain surgery ppl.

This is a nice, easy-going bar with sensational views of the Empire State. Prices are decent, service is really good and there is no push to any of it - you go at your own pace and price range. As you book a table ask for the side of the bar facing the Empire State - its no problem if you cannot get it but the evening/night view is something special.

Stopped here for drinks before a concert at the Garden and we absolutely loved it. We did make reservations and were glad we did, it was packed. The views are amazing all around, especially the empire state building. Sampled a few cocktails. My favorite was The Coco, fruit and flower infused. Amazing flavor. Did not love the liquid chocolate truffle cocktail, but who cares, the view was AMAZING. There are high top tables plus comfy couches for sitting, and an outside area with a perfect view of the empire state building for great pics.

Great find. Great views. Great service. Birthday treat watching New York light up as the sun goes down. There is an outdoor area with heaters if needed and great views … not the tallest bar but really well placed. Indoor area looked great too. Cocktails and bites were really tasty.

visited skylark on 10th April 2018 while in New York City. the restaurant is situated in a very panoramic view of the city and the emperor building. service was exceptional - the staff was very engaging and the music chosen to please.

Would 100% recommend The Skylark! Food and drinks were great, views were amazing, staff were lovely and good vibes all around. Prices are quite standard for NYC but deffo make a trip here!

Short walk from the theater district. I think its in a hotel. Its dark and exciting as you go down hallways and up an elevator to the top where it opens up to OMG. It was nightime when we went. Everything lit up. Swanky place with a DJ on a Wednesday. Drinks were only 15 bucks and not watered down. Gorgeous views of Empire state building, alittle Chrysler building. Free to enter

We were looking for a place that wasn't your typical touristy attraction and we are so happy we found The Skylark. We did not have any food so we can't review that but the drinks were great. Also a much younger crowd than we had experienced at other places in the city. Seating is limited but we were okay standing. Definitely worth a trip if you're trying to escape the tourist traps of the city.

My husband and I made a reservation here. Our son recommended this spot. We arrived were greeted promptly, shown to a cozy two top with a great view. Unfortunately after sitting approximately 15 minutes with not even a nod from wait staff we decided to leave (traveled all day it was late we were hungry). Fortunately the manager on duty Justin intervened and understood our frustration. He was very gracious and rectified the oversight immediately! The food was great, cocktails fantastic, view perfect! Thank you Justin for making our first night in New York memorable!

Booked a table for two for some drinks on a Friday night at 8:30 for my Boyfriend and I. It was one of those moments when you have to pinch yourself. We had travelled from the UK and thoroughly enjoyed a romantic evening with some drinks and the View of the Empire State building, I'd recommend to anyone. The staff were great and very accommodating.

We both had a cocktail they were nice and priced at around $20 each. They have some nice views over the city up there and it’s in a good location. It is quite small up there and can feel quite hemmed in we went early evening around 5pm and it wasn’t too busy yet which was good, but I think at peaks times it might be a little squashed together

Went here for the quintessential NYC rooftop view, and pre-dinner drinks and it's expensive ($15 for glass of wine) but worth every sip to stand there in the middle of NYC and everywhere you look, fantastic views meet your eye. Luckily got a table on the side that had the Empire State bldg- reserve a table on that side if you can, it's a perfect view of it. Cool DJ- not too loud and just added to the vibe of the place. They also have a little deck we went out on despite the cold to get some great pics. Splurge and treat yourself before pre-dinner drinks, then head out and have a wonderful fun-filled NYC nite.

Fantastic view and food. Drinks just amazing so just go there. Its a place a bit hidden between places but a nice place with elevator straight in to fantastic views.

My husband and I had a lovely light dinner out last Friday there. The Drinks are just great and the food was delicious too! What we didn't realize at the time we reserved here, there is a live DJ (maybe only on weekends) and they are playing pretty good music!

The rooftop bar has one of the best views of manhattan skyline , you can also Hudson River from here.the drinks are really good,it gets packed ,always reserve a table before you come ,otherwise you can't find a place to sit .

The service, the view, the staff are all amazing. My group of friends always have a great time. The only thing I would say is that I wish we could book a longer period of time because often times we have to keep moving and we would spend more money if we could sit there longer uninterrupted. We keep having to close our tab and move.

We arranged to meet friends here. We had a drink before they arrived. Staff were very polite and friendly. However because our friends were not in what was considered 'smart dress' they were refused entry, (we were tourists in shorts and trainers) yet saw others who were allowed entry in similar attire. So disappointingly we moved on, to similar venue who allowed entry

We went to the 30th floor to this lovely cocktail bar. We booked a table and had the best table overlooking the empire state building lit up. The views over the city of new York were fantastic. Recommend this place. We didn't eat there but one can. Staff nice.

Always book a table before visiting - you'll be more likely to get a table by the window. I love this bar, it's so great. Music is fab, atmosphere is lovely and prices aren't too expensive considering the location.

I spent a lot of time researching new years eve in New York. I wanted to see the ball drop but didn't want to stand in times square freezing for hours and hours. So from looking at other reviews it sounded like skylark was for us. It was the wettest new years in 24 years so we was so glad we booked it. We arrived at the Skylark and was greeted and given our wristbands, put in a lift and sent off to the top floor. Our coats and umbrellas were checked in and we were shown to our table. (We paid a bit more to have a high top table). There was Moet on ice waiting for us. Food and drink was constant with table service. Due to the weather we were unable to go on the rooftop for the ball drop but this wasn't a problem due to the Skylark being all glass. We all stood by the window and the windows actually opened so there was no glass. Once the ball dropped the party continued. This meant when you left the crowds had already gone and you could walk home in peace without the crowds. Would I do it again! In a heart beat! My top tip book early to get in (we booked in August) spend the extra $ and get a table for the table service. We did have some issues getting through the barriers with the NYPD not all of them were happy to let us through. Thank you Skylark for such an amazing experience! You made our entire holiday

great location with spectatcualr views. The cocktaisl were also quite excelent and , given the uniqueness of its locationto Times Square etc, the prices were very reasonable. The food will not live long in the memeory but its the view you go for and that is really cool. The service frojm the charmmng girls serving drinks was alos top draw.

It's a great clean place ,great service, love the ambience great for a solo drink spot , and to meet , couples always very nice spot if you in town vacation or a weekend stay try you like it.

My Husband and I were looking forward to a fun evening out at a great cocktail bar with views of the city. The view of Empire State from The Sklylark was quite stunning and did not disappoint! We made a booking online and upon arrival at the venue, we were led through the building by a few professional doormen & staff who sent us up in the lift. So far, so good and from the outset we were impressed. As we walked into the main reception area, we were greeted and led to our table by a young lady who was very friendly, however, I couldn’t help the feeling I was in a Gentlemen’s Club, due the attire worn by all female staff, wearing very short dresses. (It sort of ‘cheapened’ the venue in my opinion, however, it didn’t put me off having a great time) Enjoying the cool music and ambiance, we placed our orders for cocktails off the main signature menu. I ordered The Coco and my Husband ordered The Skylark. The Coco was extremely sweet, to the point I could only manage drinking half of it. The Skylark was more pleasant though, but average at best - which was really disappointing given the price of the cocktails and they were warm (not ice cold) We unfortunately decided to cut our evening short there, since we didn’t enjoy the cocktails. We ordered the bill and the waitress replied “Oh good, our kitchen is about to close” which was quite odd. There was a Manager with an ear piece who paced up and down the floor, which looked very slick, however, not once did he stop to ask how we were enjoying our evening or cocktails. It was only at the very end when we were ordering our bill that he came to ask how our cocktails were. Even then, when we replied the one was “extremely sweet” (and he could clearly see only half had been consumed), he simply smiled and nodded and walked to the next table without engaging with us or without seeming genuinely interested. I would have expected better cocktails given this was the speciality, which was disappointing.

I visited Skylark on a Monday in mid September for sunset drinks, having seen it on TikTok. The entryway was cool, and after an elevator ride and a few stairs, I reached the rooftop, which was so worth it! The stunning view brought back memories of when I used to live in New York. I ordered rosé and tuna tacos (delicious!), but my friend’s dish was disappointing. The waitress kindly replaced it. However, the crispy rice and truffle fries were a letdown—overcooked and stale. The sunset, though, made it all worthwhile.

The Skylark is one of those hidden gems of the city that you have to have heard about to know it. Sweeping views, great atmosphere and endless drinks, this is a good place for pre drinks before going out, or just drinks after a long day. It’s geared more towards friends and couples, not a place you’d go to pick up anyone.

The bartender robbed me! My friend and I went out for drinks and ordered 2 drinks (we checked the menu on the website) and the drinks were supposed to cost us 37$ plus tip. I wanted to pay with card so the bartender took my phone and payed. Of course I didn’t think anything of it, I trusted the bartender, like who would rob you in a fancy rooftop? Well to my surprise, the next day I checked my balance and realized my check was 97$, for 2 drinks???? We are foreigners so maybe he saw an opportunity and took it. I sent them an email straight away and they didn’t respond to this day. If you’re coming to this rooftop, keep an eye out! I still can’t believe something like this happened! And for the bartender, I really hope you’re ashamed of yourself…

I always like to do these types of things - the bars high up in the skyscrapers. I know they're tourist traps, but I've been to quite a few so that should help boost my street cred in the following review: My husband and I went to The Skylark for a drink after seeing Hamilton. I had made reservations at 11:15 which ended up being perfectly timed. It was a short walk from Broadway. You enter in an unfinished industrial area and walk to the elevator. Art is hung on the walls and you see one finished gorgeous wall with the Skylark logo. I loved this space. It built up the anticipation and made it feel like a hidden gem. We were seated against a window with some gorgeous views toward Times Square (but the Skylark wraps around the whole floor so you can see the whole city). It was a Wednesday night but the place was packed. My only complaint was that it was a little too loud, made it hard to talk to my husband. It seemed like most people were there for bachelorette/bachelor parties or had been drinking all night so our two sober selves were not the key market at that moment. The drinks were pricey but that's to be expected at any rooftop/skyline view lounge. I ordered the spring fling which was cucumber something or other. It was refreshing and delicious. I could tell it had been crafted by a skilled mixologist so I was happy with the price ($18 for a specialty cocktail). My husband ordered a strawberry caipirinha which he said he enjoyed. We did not try any food so I can't review that. I was looking into doing Rainbow Room and I'm glad I found the Skylark instead. There were no drink minimums here and the views were just as good.

The bar is absolutely beautiful and the views are incredible. However the service is completely appalling. Mistakes were made by the staff yet were blamed on the customers excess money was tried to be charged and when challenged did not own up to their mistakes. Staff attitude was disgusting eyes were rolled when we tried to explain the mistakes that were made in the bill. I would love to recommend this bar because the establishment is very good but sadly the staff and service let it down.

Had an AMAZING time here! Had 445 reservations and easily had the BEST seats there to celebrate my moms birthday. Service was amazing, drinks and food also delicious. It truly was a great experience and I am so glad we got to experience it!

We visited The Skylark in June pretty early in the evening and were lucky to get a table with a great view. We quickly realised we should have made a reservation as the place got busy fast and we had to give up our table after approx 40 minutes (we didn’t mind as we were just stopping in for a drink before dinner). We were also told that the frosé cocktails we wanted were only available to order if we had a reservation - this was a bit disappointing and didn’t make much sense but we ended up ordering different drinks, which did not disappoint. The drinks were pricey but certainly worth it, the atmosphere was lively and vibrant and the service was good. Unfortunately, the deck was closed when we visited as it was raining but the views from inside were still incredible. We’d love to visit again but will definitely make a reservation next time we’re in NYC!

Nice music, good food and good drinks Excellent service, good atmosphere, the view of all the buildings is nice because there are no tall buildings right in front, so it allows for a better view. Normal prices with the rest of NYC rooftops

we paid 97 dollars for two aperols, I think we were cheated as tourists…the waitress seemed to be working hard there, which is a pity because the views are really great

Very sexy place with fantastic views! Only had cheese board and some drinks. Both were delicious. The views are fantastic and the have a selfie light to take pictures. Would return.

We visited here mainly for the view and bought a cocktail whilst there. Whilst the cocktails were pricey and watery, the view was breathtaking. They were fully booked so we stood on the terrace where there wasn’t really anywhere to stand because of the many people.

My first time in NYC. What the best view and good service. It was my birthday and they surprised me by Birthday cake . It was amazing.

Great cocktails and an even better view. But what made The Skylark stand out from just about everywhere else we went in NYC was the incredible staff. From the friendliest and most welcoming door staff I've ever met (they should run workshops for the guys at The Standard to show them how it's done), to bar staff that couldn't be more helpful, they were all wonderful. A brilliant experience.

30th floor view and a rooftop bar, serving well prepared cocktails and nice selection of whiskeys, makes Skylark a great place to enjoy a nightcap. I visited on a Monday and it got reasonably busy by about 11. Lots of window seating on the 30 th. Rooftop has room for about 40 or so more. I had the sazerac press. Not bad but I much more prefer a traditional sazerac cocktail. The kiwi/ hemp mojito was good but a tad sweet. Recommended nevertheless. We had a couple of “bar bites” -Mac-n-cheese cupcakes and the tapas plate. I really liked the tapas plate-lots of olives, nuts and cheese. Strangely they aren’t open on weekends. Apparently they are the regularly booked for private parties. Will try to visit again.

I preferred this one to Rooftoop 230, here we have a real view!! We see below, the charcuterie platter is nice, I went there on Friday evening, it’s quiet

We booked a table with a direct view of the Times Square Waterford Crystal ball and the evening was magical. The view of the ball was much better and bigger than the pictures and video from the internet (even though the distance was from 39th to 41/42 Street). The ball would change colors and patterns every few seconds and the Empire state building seemed to be right next door, all lit-up. The food was fabulous, there was a bottle of expensive champagne and the service was great. Kira, our contact via telephone, was great in answering questions in order to book this. Tip: I was worried about using one of the 3 official access points, but this was a moot issue. We left the Marriott Courtyard that was 2 blocks away at 8:00 and there was almost no people around, so the police allowed us to cross over at the unauthorized access point at 39th and broadway. The party started at 9.

Best views bar in NYC. Good cocktails and great atmosphere. Dj is also really good. Will visit again when I am back.

This visit was for a quick bite to eat before a show. The location was two blocks from the theater and the menu looked good. The access is thru a door on W 39th with a couple of "doormen" and a long elevator ride to the 30th floor. The feel was like you were entering some late night club. The space is a maze of rooms in different levels including outdoor space. The views are a big part of this experience since open City views like this are not easy to find in a restaurant in NYC. Decor was again club like and there is a definite attempt at projecting a chic feel. They didn't fail completely. Food is tapas style, everything being small plates and a variety of different cuisines. Mini tuna tacos or mini lobster rolls, guacamole with chips or edamame with shiitake peppers. I would say two people sharing four to six of them is enough. Drink and wine selection is good but non of this is cheap and do not expect to get a window seat with a view if you show up too late. Service despite what we read in several other reviews was actually very good but we did show up at 5:30 and got out at 6:45 with no problem. Later in the evening could be different. This is a good place for a group to hang and munch and drink or even a romantic couple enjoying the sunset. Foods is light so make it about everything else.

I’m an habitué, I love the location and the design so I spend here almost all my Friday nights when I’m in NYC. Wines are ok, overpriced for the quality.

We had pre-booked the Skylark before our visit to NYC via 'Open Table' and had mentioned on there that it was our wedding anniversary. We booked it because the views looked really good and we were looking forward to it. Upon arrival and after heading up to the restaurant we were greeted and even wished a happy anniversary so that was where the good service ended unfortunately. We were shown to a table which was right near the windows so we would get a good view but we were then moved to a different table away from the window as we'd been seated incorrectly. We were then sat waiting for around 30 minutes with staff walking past us, serving other customers and we were literally invisible and felt totally ignored with the servers seemingly more interested in the larger groups of people in the premises. When we decided to stop a member of staff to order some drinks they never arrived and we waited again until we had to stop another server who did bring some drinks but as they were brought to our table one of the drinks fell over. It was really typical as to how the night was going. We had to again get the attention of a server to order our food which did eventually come and it did taste nice but by that time the night just felt flat because of the service and it was a real disappointment. When our food was finished another server approached our table and said that she was supposed to have been our server for the night buit she was on her break and someone else was meant to have taken over her duties and she said she didn't even know we had arrived! In the end someone who I presumed was in charge came to the table we expressed our disappointment with how the night had gone and he apologised and said that we wouldn't have a bill to pay because of it which to be fair was only right but I'd rather have left with a good experience though. I'm sure for whatever reason that the lack of service we received was a 'one off' as most of the reviews were positive which was part of the reason why we booked but I can only comment on our own experience. So in short, the views are great in the restaurant but for us that was where the good things stopped. Shame really.

we arrived on a Friday afternoon ay 5:30pm on my birthday as we wanted to see the sun set and enjoy a drink to celebrate. The tables were fully booked from 6 so were not able to sit down till I asked if we could sit on a reserved table that said reserved from 7:00pm which they agreed. The drinks were lovely and we were given a complimentary shot for my birthday, even though the price was $20 a cocktail, it was worth the treat. the view from the balcony was stunning and something I will never forget!

Had a friends get together at the Skylark mid week. From the minute you are greeted to the door downstairs you feel like a vip. The staff is very welcoming and service was great. Food is delicious. Reservations highly recommended. Rooftop will be awesome when it opens soon.

The bar side of this restaurant makes a big deal of getting in, past many staff, through a whole building, up stairs, and when you finally get there, dont even think about sitting down because all the seating is RESERVED, even if they are empty. The expensive cocktails get poured without care by bartenders who would rather be elsewhere, and the crowd is pure tourist. The only highlight is a nice view of the empire state. i dont know who this bar appeals to, but I don't want to hang out with them. File under misadventure.

Strongly suggested, the view is astonishing and the food is very very good! Romantic for an after theatre drink or a dinner. Staff very kind and professional.

Me and my daughter want to the skylark to celebrate her birthday and the whole experience was brilliant , great food great decor cosy atmosphere and the staff couldn't make you feel more welcome . I had a problem with my booking and the door man couldn't have been more helpful, I would highly recommend this place as one you won't forget when visiting New York.

Our first stop out on our first night out in NYC, thankfully this was our first stop and not our last, would have been a huge let down. We were excited when we arrived that we were able to get a table, not outside which might have made the experience better but inside right by the entrance. Not comfortable for the guys who had to sit on the round backless stools. After being seated, no one came over to take our drink order or welcome us at all. Sitting there getting agitated, a man who must have been some sort of a manager came over and said our server will be over shortly that she is taking an order from a very large group. Okay, then the wait continued to unacceptable limits. One in our party wanted to leave but we convinced him to give it a couple more minutes. Finally the man who first came to us came over and took our order. Then the wait began again for our drinks, frustration was now setting in. Should we just leave, not knowing what to do, my husband asked another person if he could get our server, he seemed befuddled and did absolutely nothing. The drinks did finally come, my french martini was not great but for the price I sucked it up and drank it. Not sure others in our party had better luck with their drinks either. Drank quickly, got the check and left. Not at all what we expected and definitely won't be back.

I made a spontaneous appointment with friends and with luck I was able to get another table , in the lounge and not on the rooftop, but it was great !!! The view was the Oberhammer and the whisky sour just delicious ! The service lady was also super sweet and made little jokes !! I'm really excited about the hospitality in New York! You should definitely reserve whether indoors or outdoors! It's worth a visit!

This was top of my list of roof bars to try, but sadly the night we went they were closed for a private Xmas party until 8.30. The doorman was super friendly and told us other bars to try and gave us a free drink voucher should we return. When we did, we did wonder slightly as you enter like a very dark back alley to coat check and then a lift. Although we had no reservation the host that greeted us (guy from UK) sat us in one of the best seats in the house, overlooking the Empire State! He later really impressed me when the locals got a little too friendly, think it was our accent and he checked we could handle it!! Our waitress was very efficient and we enjoyed a couple of drinks (1 free) in a great atmosphere with a cute man in the loo that assists you?!?!

The place is very nice, you can enjoy a very nice view of the NY skyline. The tapas were good, but I found the cocktails bad and too heavy with alcohol. As for the service, a little disappointing because it had a closing time on Google not in line with what was communicated at the bottom and even less at the top.

Great cocktails and beautiful setting! The food was not great, but it’s a 5-star location for cocktails. The views are breathtaking and the staff is very friendly. We’ll definitely be coming back soon!!

Nice views of ESB and Manhattan. Cocktails 18 dollars. Glass of wine 14 dollars upwards. Can get crowded. If you don't reserve a table you will be standing. Not suitable for people with poor mobility. There are 3 flights of stairs after getting the elevator.

Good vibe and stunning views. Didn't try the food but it did look very good. Only negative the outside terrace does get busy

Our first time in NYC, my wife and I (nerdy parents from North Dakota) and our 26 year old son who lives and works in Austin, TX. Figured we wanted to do something "cool" people do so found The Skylark was near our motel. Short walk for us. Made reservation for 8:15 Friday evening. Greeted at the door and sent down a long dark hallway to an elevator in the back of the building where we were greeted and put on the elevator sent to the 30th floor. What a super cool, awesome place. Everyone we came into contact with was very nice. They had given us a corner of a velvet couch with nice round coffee table for our drinks and food. Between the 3 of us we tried 9 of their specialty cocktails. Every one was better than the last. We had 5 of their food options as well. We treated the night out as our 'dinner' but obviously the food is more finger food/tapas type fare. But each thing we had was fantastic. The tuna wonton tacos and the BLT pretzel griddlewiches were our favorite but all great. We didn't feel out of place even though my wife and I were probably some of the oldest folks there, but what a great relaxed, cool vibe. Place was full. Music was great. Views were spectacular. It was the highlight of our first NYC trip. Again, the staff was fantastic. Couldn't say enough great things about our visit. We were there for about 2 hours and loved every minute of it. Admittedly, a 50 year old from North Dakota doesn't have a lot of places like this to compare my visit, but I can't imagine a better place. Thanks to the staff, the greeters/entry staff, the coat check guy, the serving staff, the bartenders and the chefs/food staff. Granted, probably not your core demographic, but we couldn't have been happier. Put it on your 'to do' list!

O by golly, not a place for any body not in the best shape physically. Yes you are admitted on the ground floor into a dark tunnel and walk a small distance to an elevator which takes you to the 30th floor then you take the stairs the rest of the way to the next narrow level where you can get a drink and some bar food. However, should you want to go the rooftop bar, that requires you to walk an additional two flights of stairs each of which is 14 stairs. Yes, you can get bar food there as well, by this time you earned it, but it’s not free! If you don’t find street parking, be prepared to pay at least $60.00 for a garage space. Good luck!

My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful evening at The Skylark. We were celebrating our anniversary. Delicious appetizers, fun drinks, and an incredible view of the Empire State Building. Strongly recommend you visit at sunset and into the evening. We were served a surprise complimentary glass of champagne!! Very nice.

Was looking for a cocktail with a view for our last night in NY. Totally loved it here. Outside bar man was fab at recommending cocktails and photos we got were fab. Thank you to the staff.

Nice enough bar with good views but terrible service lets it down. I ordered 3 glasses of rose clearly priced at 14 dollars on the menu but when the bill came they had charged me 20 dollars a glass for the same wine. I queried it and the waitress didn't seem surprised, just said she would have the bill corrected. Also we ordered a fourth round of drinks and the order was taken and only when they brought over the drinks did they bother to say we could only have the table for another 5 minutes. I pointed out they shouldn't have taken the order if they needed the table back and was told, rudely, I could move to one of their multi-seat high tables. We refused, finished our drinks quickly and left zero tip. Nobody to be seen waiting for our table when we left and I could see the waitresses bit%ching about us as we left. There are better bars with better views in NYC so my advice, don't bother with this place.

We went there for cocktails and the view is amazing. The rooftop bar is relatively small so you will need to make reservation get a table. Overall was great with good cocktails 🍹

I recently visited Skylark Bar in NYC with my family & friends and had a highly disappointing experience due to the aggressive and discriminatory behavior of the doorman. Despite our outfits being perfectly suitable, especially considering the other guests and the overall atmosphere of the bar, the doorman was extremely arrogant. He made condescending facial expressions and seemed to judge us solely based on our appearance. Extremely aggressive and rude. When I requested to speak with the manager, my request was refused, and instead, I was handed a business card to write an email. This lack of responsiveness from the management was very disheartening. I have received an email response generated by Chat GPT. The name of the manager is: Mahendra Singh On a positive note, I must commend the waiters who were all amazing and provided excellent service throughout our visit. However, the initial negative encounter significantly marred our overall experience. I do not recommend Skylark Bar as people may expect to be humiliated. I hope Skylark Bar addresses these issues to prevent future guests from having a similar experience. It is extremely unfriendly place who employees people who will he happy to make you feel awful. Avoid if you can.

We had good service and the waitress was very nice. The drinks were good and used decent alcohol in them. The views were spectacular on both ends of the outside bar area. The only downfall is the prices which were really high. The place wasn't to crowded which is nice to have room to move around and talk. We got a pitcher which is about five drinks for $80 which isn't to bad.

In the evening we enjoyed cocktails with a breathtaking view. “Mia in Tokyo” met my taste exactly.

This place is great for post-work drinks to drown out the office stress and enjoy a nice view of the skyline alongside likeminded professionals. It’s great for people watching especially if you make reservations well in advance and snag a comfy couch with bookshelf/coffee table for your convenience. The drinks are made well, but are a bit on the pricey side which is to be expected at a place like this.

We went here to get a drink and some appies and to enjoy the view and we were not disappointed in any of the afore-mentioned! Ok, so the drinks were not extraordinary as they were just beers however they were not extraordinarily priced either which was a plus because, bearing in mind the views, I thought that might have been the case. We started out in the main lounge area and had some pretty tasty appetizers (guacamole with plantain, salted fries, coconut prawns and sliders) but as the server we had seemed to feel we were an utmost inconvenience to her, we decided to go upstairs onto the deck which only offers bar service at certain times. We were fortunate enough to get seats with a full-on view of the Empire State building and there was a really nice atmosphere up there - total strangers seemed happy to chat and discuss their evening plans. It's a really brilliant place to go for pre-dinner drinks, appies and amazing views. I actually dealt with Justin and Kira prior to coming to this bar to make sure we could come with our (just) under 21 year old kids and they were fantastic ambassadors for the place. We were just required to leave before 7pm which was fine by us. HIghly recommend!

It is a great experience. The food is great, mixed drinks are fantastic, waiters and waitresses are great. And the view is phenomenal. Make sure you order all at once, otherwise it could take little long for additional orders.

We had a lovely evening at The Skylark. The view was unbelievable, the drinks great and the staff was professional and very efficient. So glad we went and will definitely go again.

After going for a walk and dinner I decided to go for a drink and this place was really close to my hotel. I went by myself and the entrance is quite dark until you reach the elevator. It's quite an impressive place the first time you visit it, the views are simply amazing and ambient and decoration give a nice atmosphere in the night time. Bar's personnel was good. There is a small balcony where you can smoke without leaving the place. I arrived after dinner but food looked really nice. It's only open from Monday to Friday, as per information gave to me by personnel, on weekends is only available for renting the place for events.

After hours and hours of research what to do for NYE in NYC I cam across SkyLark. It didn't have many reviews, so was hesitant, but it was the highlight of the trip and so glad we booked it. We booked a high top table - which included all premium beverages (a bottle of moet on the table, carafs of amazing cocktails all night, whiskey, scotch vodka - anything you want!), substantial food, party favours, a great atmosphere and amazing service, not to mention a direct view of the ball drop! Could not recommend this venue more to anyone in the same position looking at something reasonable to celebrate new years eve in NYC. Whilst it wasn't cheap by regular standards for new years eve i would say this is excellent value. Pay the bit more and get a seated table - it is so worth it. The service was phenomenal also.

Visiting the Skylark was right near the top of my list of things to do in NYC! Im pleased to say I wasn't disappointed. We reserved a table via their website for 7:45pm and arrives promptly. We took advantage of the cloakroom facility (don't forget to tip!) And headed into the bar. We ordered two bottles of Corona which cost a total (with tip) 22 bucks, for the venue/view alone it is well worth paying a little more. They had a DJ playing but the noise wasn't over powering. We did have to move seats as someone had reserved the seat we were sat in/someone had sat in our seats but this was quickly sorted out! Over all a hidden gem of New York city and a must see!

Loved the view from the roofto bar. Went at 8 and the transformation from day to night was amazing. Music was brilliant. Food comes in the form of small plates just like tapas. Make sure you book if you want on the rooftop.

Great spot with fantastic view, $20 cocktails, $10 beer, we didn’t eat. Has a good vibe and a really funky kind of entrance.

My husband and I stumbled upon The Skylark as we were looking at making an early reservation before a show. We were SO impressed with the cool atmosphere and views! Just getting to the actual lounge/bar seems like an adventure on it’s own (in a good, well directed way). The food was delicious (duck wontons!!!), and the drinks were fun and inventive. If you’re looking for light fare, tasty drinks, and a killer view- this is the place to be!

We really enjoyed the small bites and the drinks ! All of the staff went out of their way to ensure that we had everything that we needed. The views are stunning - you can see The Hudson, Times Square and The Empire State Building very clearly. We did get some great pictures ! We recommend this place to reconnect with friends and enjoy some great drinks!

The entrance is a bit dodgy but once you arrive upstairs the views are amazing. Both indoor and outdoor areas. Lots of interesting contemporary appetizers. Mid town priced cocktails ($18) - which in this well-seasoned NYer's opinion could be a bit stronger - but still adequate. Recommended.

The concierge at the Langham hotel suggested this place. I wanted a nice place to enjoy a wine with a view, and after experiencing Skylark, this was exactly what I was wanting. Dim, not too noisy, no phones out, just face to face chatting, enjoying the large window views of Manhattan (we had an evening view of the Hudson). Great selection of wine. I will be coming back next visit to NYC.

I booked a table a couple of weeks before we arrived. They asked for proof of covid vaccinations on the door along with ID to ensure everything matches up correctly. You then get a lift 30 floors up and are greeted by a Maître d' who checked our booking and confirmed. They walked us to our table which was a sofa area with a small table. We decided to just go for cocktails and not have any food. The atmosphere is great and very upmarket, the cocktails were ok (not really to our taste) but they were strong and full of alcohol. The music was good and the people were all getting along and having a great time. We were able to go to the patio area and get some great photos with the Empire State in the background it was cold on the night we were there and snowing but it all added to the atmosphere of the night. The toilets / restrooms were very clean and tidy. The price is quite expensive for drinks however they do say you pay for what you get and we didn't have any complaints whatsoever. As I say the cocktails weren't to our taste but the few hours we had there was brilliant and I can understand why you need to book this place. All the staff were very nice and friendly and looked after us really well, I would recommend this place and would go again.

Cocktails and dinner bites are very pricey, but you get a wonderful view. Definitely worth doing at least once on a visit to NYC.

The food and drinks were excellent. Highly recommend the tuna tacos, the pizzettes, the sliders and fried chicken sandwich bites. However, unsurprisingly given how crowded this place can get - service was average. If you even attempt to go to the rooftop - highly recommend getting a table. It gets packed fast -- and this ensures you have place to sit --- even if service continues to be slow.

Unbelievable views, atmosphere, staff, music and food. Small plates are great for catching a light bite after the theater. Skylark is the perfect place.

Visited on a Friday evening during a quick trip to NYC. View is a 10. Hudson River, Times Square...you can see it all from 30 floors up. The food was yummy too; we ordered the tapas sampler, burrata pizzetta; guac; and, sweet potato fries. It turned out to be a lot of food for just me and my guy but delicious none the less. For drinks we ordered a round of FROSE (available only during the summer on the rooftop). They were delicious and perfect for a summer evening. Why not 5 stars: (1) Waitress. She was pleasant and we did get our food and drinks but once she dropped that off, we never saw her. We had to ask others for napkins; water; etc. (2) the indoor space is very sexy (read: dark) which is fine maybe in all areas except for the bathroom. Seriously. You cannot see anything in these dark spaces. Me and another lady commiserated over the sinks; brighten up the bathrooms. Please! Tips: make a reservation for rooftop. It's s small space and could easily get packed. Our reservations were for 4:30P - as soon as The Skylark opened - so we had no issues. If you can, go early and stay until after sunset. Although we missed that opportunity (we had a show to catch), I know it will look amazing!

The entrance was a bit unexpected, but we loved it! We come from Manchester, UK, wherethe dark and dingy and underground venues we prefer equals cool, so we weren't put off by the dark concrete maze with moody looking (but lovely!) security staff on every turn to get into this place, it just added to the coolness. ALL the staff were super friendly which we didnt expect because we are very obviously tourists and this places image seems like its preferred clientelle were young, powerful and rich City professionals. At the rooftop (indoor) bar, it was VERY busy and most, if not all, tables were reserved, but we managed to get drinks easily and headed to the small outdoor corner terrace, to be met with the most incredible views of the ESB. It was surprisingly warm for December (i think there were heaters, i can't remember!) so we stayed out there for the duration of our visit and got talking to some really lovely natives/regulars. Thanks for an experience we'll never forget!

I had already been in May 2022 on the wonderful roof top terrace but also beautiful the place inside August 2024. Great food, gin and tonic and service. All very nice. Place to come back when you are in NYC.

Amazing city views, wonderful drinks but the bites need some work. Delicious but only a taste as portions are extremely small.

We stopped in for a quick app and a glass of wine...GO EARLY or be sure to make a reservation! It's very small and very busy! We got the last 2 stools at a shared table. The rest is sofa/ comfy seating. The views are beautiful! There is a small outdoor patio. You have to order at the bar if you are not in the "restaurant" section, which was fine. Food was actually quite good! We shared a cheese/ charcuterie plate, mac & cheese muffins and the beef sliders (which were AWESOME)! We asked if they could box the remaining cheese tray to take with us for the next day, and staff was super accommodating.... Bottom line though, go EARLY! We arrived at 5pm....!

Nice restautant for cozy evening for coupuls & parties on the roof terase with DJ (we have visited place on Friday). Restaurant has pool table with amazing view to downtown. Restaurant is located in 30th floor, definitely you may find some bars located higher.

We loved spending New Years Eve 2017/18 at the Skylark and highly recommend this place for an amazing "Bucket List" night!! 7 of us, 3 adults and 4 sons aged 25-21 , visited NYC from the UK and we made the decision to book this venue based on its all inclusive cost, black tie exclusive event and opportunity not only to see the famous Balldrop in Times Square, but the amazing night time views of the Empire State Building and the Manhattan skyline. We were not disappointed!! The whole vibe was fantastic, friendly, not too crowded, there was a live TV feed of the action in Times Square, and it was amazing to be in a warm and cosy environment on an absolutely freezing - 16 New Years evening!!! At the entrance there was a small queue for a coat check, and a room with a photo booth and props although we didn't use this, and at midnight there was an upstairs outside terrace from which to see the Ball drop!! Everyone seemed to be having fun and we danced to a great soundtrack from the DJ! Believe me, there is something pretty surreal about dancing to Empire State of Mind and New York New York in the window of a Manhattan skyscraper 😀 We booked by email as soon as the event was opened and we decided to have the VIP booth package - pretty expensive but definitely worth it for the awesome positioning in a window of the bar space right opposite the Ball drop, 3 bottles of Moët on ice and plentiful pitchers of cocktails! This was in addition to the free unlimited bar offered as part of the general package between 9pm and 3 am. Our server was very good and gracious and served us drinks regularly and efficiently. The "passing food" or canapés were absolutely delicious and came round extremely regularly - tuna tacos, smoked salmon bagels, shrimps, slider burgers, noodles - it was all gorgeous and filling! After midnight there were sweet platters like macarons and mini cakes. If I had to be critical at all, and honestly don't want to be, but my constructive feedback would be; that the canapés were a little biased towards fish and seafood and one of our party had a seafood allergy so he couldn't eat the majority of it!! Also it was a little bit shocking to us Brits who don't have this NYC tipping culture to be asked to pay the gratuity at about 1am!! Also as it had snowed the day before and it was freezing cold, I was surprised that the upstairs terrace was very icy and slippy and hadn't been cleared..... But generally this was the best night out and an absolutely amazing New Years Eve experience!! You have to do this! The photo opportunities were incredible of the ESB and Ball drop!! I can't recommend it highly enough and would like to thank the Skylark staff very much for a really wonderful night! I will be back!

What a wonderful place to see the New York skyline at night. The people there were fantastic and very friendly. John made us feel like very special guests and Amarice, the hostess, was very welcoming as well. I will certainly be back with other friends when we visit the city again

Wonderful experience , Great views! amazing bar !-with night views over the city and open roof top bar, pool room, quiet on weekdays, food and drinks little expensive and worth it, sliders were good, one waitress was rude, staff were ok, small food choices were a negative. Funky bar- would go back! Best night view .

From the interesting craft cocktails to the great snack foods, this is a great spot. Gray views of the city in a really cool space. The waitress was very attentive and they played great music. It did get pretty loud, but we got used to it.

We had cocktails at Skylark to enjoy the sunset views. It was packed and we were very glad one of our party had arrived early to secure an area to sit. The views of the Empire State Building on the one side and the sunset over the river on the other were very good. The cocktails were average and two of our party did not enjoy theirs at all and ended up leaving them and choosing other drinks.

Near to our hotel, we were delighted to be able to find at the last minute, a table available & what an experience! Many roof-top bars thrive here in NYC..this one is on the top of an old warehouse building ..& the spectacular views are more than matched by fabulous cocktails, stunningly achieved friendly yet utterly professional service ..& a laid back vibe that’s pure Big Apple. Outstanding. Warning : book in advance..it’s popular & no wonder!

We visited here on recommendation and were not disappointed!! We booked online and this experience was very good with great communication and also easy to change our reservation with short notice. The views are breathtaking!!!, The service was fantastic and we were made to feel very comfortable and welcome. We sampled many cocktails and wines as well as some light bites and everything was excellent. There was also a fabulous atmosphere with great music and a chance for a boogie!!!! I can’t recommend The Skylark highly enough, will definitely return!

We liked the Skylark Rooftop Bar the best in NYC. We had previously made reservations online. Here you can enjoy good drinks in a relaxed atmosphere and with good views.

Attended an event at Skylark and the view us amazing! Food is not too bad, drinks are good too with very reasonable pricing. Worth a trip to the bar!

Great place to go for cocktails and snacks. Good views and helpful staff. A couple of my drinks didn’t arrive so had one on the house. ( presume the bottle beers come from a different bar to the cocktails ). Cocktails were delicious. Thanks Britney.

A group of us were looking for a place to grab a night cap and did a quick Google search for a roof top bar. I wasn't sure what we were getting ourselves into as we entered the venue....in a what's next, not scary way...once we got off the elevator it was amazing! The view was fantastic and the drinks were excellent! I highly recommend this place....I wish we had more time I would have loved to go back during the day to see the view.

Cool bar with great views. Just had drinks, but they were very good. Bartender was helpful with suggestions.

We visited the Skylark based on a review we had read. It is very true you get one of the best views of Empire State Building, however the service was mediocre. We never ever received the basics such as a glass of water. We requested this after a few drinks and food. Our reservation was quickly forgotten when we got up to admire the views. On our return there was a reserve sign on our table and told we the guests were ready to be seated. Asked how long they usually provide for a booking then the waitress soon realised we had one. Apologised and said we could stay where we were. We had to chase a food menu to order additional share plates. Would have been a better experience with better service.

We came here for cocktails on the first night of our trip to New York and enjoyed every minute (and sip). We booked ahead and requested an outside table with a view of the Empire State Building, which was fully honoured. It was an amazing experience and we loved our cocktails too. The prices are extremely good value given the location and the standard of the drinks. We did not have food, but everything we saw looked really good.

Wonderful time spent on this Rooftop, opposite the Empire State Building The boards are very good and the setting very nice

There are better rooftop bars. After reading other reviews the poor ones are the most accurate. The view is ok, the staff other than the doorman were rude and disinterested. The decor is tatty. We left without ordering a drink and went to Dear Irving at Hudson, which is in a different league - classy, friendly staff and better views.

My partner organised food and drinks at Skylark as a surprise evening during our stay in New York. First impressions were good with the entrance being very cool and nicely decorated and the views from our table when seated were great. Sadly this is where the good ends - we ordered the sliders, sweet potato fries and mac and cheese cupcakes and found all of it to be average to poor quality and very overpriced. We sent the sweet potato fries back untouched as they were cold on the inside and they still added them to the bill at the end. The music was too loud for a couple eating and was more of a club vibe. All in all this is a nice venue for just drinks and we imagine it would be great for after work drinks in the city. Avoid for food.

We decided to go to the rooftop bar during the week. We were able to go to the rooftop bar and it wasn't overly crowded. We were able to find a spot to sit. The views were spectacular. We ordered our drinks at the bar and we were happy with it. We did not order any food.

One of the most beautiful rooftops ever. The view of the Empire is really great and a great thing are also the tables (bookable, which I recommend) that are well separated from each other, so you do not have any kind of annoyance from other patrons. In addition of all the rooftops tried in the Big Apple was also the one with the best cocktails. A place where we will definitely return when we make a new trip to New York. Super recommended to spend a fantastic after dinner.

Drinks are fantastic and the views magnificent! We brought friends that were visiting from Amsterdam and Dubai and they loved it.

This Bar has a beautiful view and cool vibe but the service is bad and slow the coktles cost $19 and you pay a fee for the table so the lest that you ask is a good service

I decided to book a table at the Skylark Lounge a couple of weeks ago and I’m glad I did so. The weather was utterly pants but being relatively high up we had a great view of the city. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful,as for the cocktails well I had a massive thumbs up from the rest of the group. Unfortunately we had to curtail our visit as one of our group was not feeling to well. If this had not been the case we would have been there all night as the cocktails were superb. Dreich in Scottish vernacular is (What an utterly crap day)

This is a hidden gem most of the tourists never see. It's a place to view the skyline of NYC with your wife or hot date because it is impressive, classy, and full of energy. They have a good selection of appetizers and drinks. Treat yourself. Don't get discouraged by the dark tunnel entrance, that adds to the charm.

30 stories up in the heart of times square, The Skylark is a rooftop cocktail lounge with panoramic views of the Hudson River, The Empire State Building, and Midtown Manhattan. When you're in Time Square it's really hard to find non-touristy/non-chain locations to enjoy a good cocktail so I tend to pick the Skylark especially when its nice out. High on top of an Art Deco building in the Garment District with great views and great drinks. We were out celebrating a birthday and wanted to go somewhere nice for after dinner drinks. I’m glad I made a reservation at Skylark! I had on my reservation it was a birthday celebration and totally forgot about it since made reservation a few weeks in advance, but guess what? They surprised us with little cupcakes (from baked by Melissa BONUS POINTS!!) and candles. Staff is super attentive, unlike most midtown rooftop bars, they really made our night magical! =]

A little gem in the heart of Manhattan! I recently visited NYC for the first time and one thing on my ‘must do’ list, was cocktails in a rooftop bar over looking the Empire State Building, The Skylark ticks both of those boxes! We reserved a table for drinks a week or two before we left for our trip and were sat in a beautiful sitting area with floor to ceiling windows. We chose to start with a ‘Maple Old Fashioned’ and moved on to Aperol Spritz. Our server was lovely and attentive. We then took our drinks to the outdoor area which has breath taking views! We didn’t eat but the food looked fantastic. All in all, 10/10 experience and one of my favourite things about our visit to the city. Would return tomorrow if I could!

Started in here (booked in advance) and so glad we did. We got in well before sunset and had a table overlooking the Empire State as the sun came down. Sipping cocktails and having great laughs with friends in this place was just incredible. Something that will stay with me for years and years to come. It was expensive, no doubt, but considering where you are and what you're doing, it's fine (in my opinion). We also had some snacks there which were actually really quite good. Put the hunger pangs on hold for a couple of hours nicely. Head on up here, you shouldn't regret it.

Cool atmosphere that started at street level entrance. Spectacular views both from inside as well as outdoors.

Been there at night. Service was very good, music was perfect. Great place for date night or for a good drink with one of the side dishes from the menu. Not the place for a big meal. Fabulous view!!!

Amazing views of New York. Even more amazing drinks. A bit pricey but then again, it's got a lot going for it. Perfect for catching up with friends, schmoozing clients and professional contacts, and having a grand old time. Modern, polished and super relaxed vibe. Kudos on the groovy music too. Loved it.

Chill vibe, upscale atmosphere, awesome drinks. Definitely go if you get the chance. Dress nice or you’ll feel out of place.

Rooftop bar on floor 30 overlooks the city with the Empire State Building front and center. Self serve bar has decent wines and good snack. The coconut shrimp, charred edamame and shishito peppers and the pretzel bites with cheese fondue were all tasty. Worth a stop just south of Times Square for a sunset cocktail

This sky bar only takes reservations one week in advance, and so knowing this made the appropriate reservation exactly one week before. Bearing in mind we were 5 hours ahead in London i know we would have been one of the first to book for the day in question. . I mentioned it was daughters 21st and could we have please have a table outside. Upon arrival we followed to other people into the lift (new yorkers) and went up to the top. They exited and mentioned to the greeter that they had booked a table outside -gave their name and were shown to the outside area. We then gave our name and were told to go inside where we would be given a table . I mentioned we had booked outside and the response was that you cannot reserve outside to which my response was that the two people in front of us had , and indeed got one. They were adament you can't. We went inside to a view , but no better than one from our hotel which was ok ( but not outside). The waiter got the manager as we were about to go as we were very unimpressed, and when the manager came she asked what our problem was!! I was totally nonplussed lol , and had to ask her if she hadn't heard our conversation from 3 minutes previous as she was standing by the greeter and heard every word. She explained that everybody inside would like to be outside but couldn't possibly do it. I mentioned that we booked immediately on reservations opening , but fell on deaf ears. I left with the manager saying to my daughter ( 21st) to come back some other time or hang around and she would see what they could do. My daughter caught up laughing saying you should have seen the managers face change when you got up and walked, fed up listening to her rubbish.Food was in containers -glad we left for a great evening elsewhere. p s view isn't great!

Very disappointed, very pretentious and staff were not welcoming at all. We went for cocktails and got ripped off. Very expensive drinks which were awful. Do not waste time here.

Really nice sky bar with great views and nice drinks. Didn’t have to queue to get in without a booking either. Well worth a visit if you’re in the area.

Stunning views on three sides, cool furnishings, a very small deck with a few bar tables (no chairs), which can get very crowded, and ear-ringingly loud. So not really a true rooftop bar as the majority of it is indoors. Very slow service.

Great little cocktail roof bar! Empire State Building seems so close! A few steps, but not bad. Not windy, either.

Amazing cocktails and stunning views over Manhattan, even better than some observation decks! Great music and Service was quick too. We got some great pics at sunset!

A beautiful place 👌🏼 For me one of the best Rooftops in New York. Very good atmosphere, super good cocktail setting and fresh, quick meal. A view that is just wow I recommend.

Amazing place with great terrace with comfy sofas where you can chill with cocktail and great food. Great place to hang out and relax after exploring NY.

Arrived in a group on a Tuesday night and was seated at a "reserved" table immediately. The drinks are a little pricey $18 for cocktails and $9 for an average glass of cider but it's worth every penny for the view that you get. No matter what direction you look the view of the city is breathtaking. To add to the views the music being played at the time was low enough that you could have a normal conversation without having to strain your voice while talking. This for me was a major plus. I would recommend this location to anyone I know visiting the big apple. No cover charge.

This spot has incredible views of NYC. The barstaff wasn't the most pleasant and the drinks were a bit expensive (a bottle of rose was $80) but this is NY. It was quite breezy so be sure to bring a jacket. They have an outdoor space with tables, booths, and a bar and then there is a DJ section inside to hang out and dance. You can coat check if you decide to stay inside. I loved my time there although the music system was having challenges and fading in and then going off. I would recommend.

The view is not bad, you can see Empire State Building but not perfectly. Drinks are a bit expensive: Sangria - around $20 (if I remember correctly). Not a bad place but would rather check out other rooftops. Also, waited a suuuupppper long time for my drinks. They should really have more bartenders.

We went to the skylark for my birthday. My boyfriend had put a note on our reservation that it was my birthday and all of the staff wished me a happy birthday, which was a lovely touch. The food was delicious (especially the pork belly buns!) and the cocktails were even better! Try the frozen apple cider when you're there!

We went there for an after work mixer - This place has excellent views of the city and empire state building. They have a great drinks menu and the bar food was not bad. Spacious seating with some amazing views of the city. Great place for happy hour or after work mixer or lounge get together.

The location and interior is perfect. Which was just sensational,- the very dedicated and hardworking staff. A place that rightly needs a reservation in advance.
Amazing New Year's Eve Party with Gorgeous View of NYC
We went to a New Year's Eve party they have annually with a DJ and inclusive drinks, party favors, etc. and we got VIP couch seating with a group of 9 people. They greeted us on this absolutely freezing evening so warmly, gave us champagne and put us in a big photo area like a red carpet with funny things to put in like hats, furs, masks, etc. and the music is incredible at this venue. We are a group mostly in our 40's and so many clubs play trance and stuff you have never even heard of that gives you a headache after 30 minutes. Not this place- it was old and new funky tunes with some new house mixed in. There were all age groups from 20's to 60's and the staff was so chill and friendly and accomodating. We could see the ball drop but only the upper part of the ball but you can see the entire city as it's only a small block outside of Times Square so the light shows everywhere were amazing. They were passing out food bites for hours of really great food and it included premium liquor until 2am with super friendly and prompt bartenders. They didn't oversell the venue so that you could not even move either and multiple inside/outside areas with fun setups for photos, etc. We had read so many bad reviews on rooftop parties for NYE in the city and trusted this one and hit it right on. I highly recommend this in every way as THE rooftop party to go to.
