Busy spot good food, good service, good beer

By GeoRoadWarriors |

Arrived for supper before catching Lifespan of a Fact - it is a loud and busy spot, but we were not having an issue conversing. Food was very good - started with the calamari with sweet chili and almonds (yummy). Two had the steak BLT - delicious. Also regular burger and lamb burger. Salad and fries on side all yummy. All delicious. Service friendly. Would definitely return.

A great chilled bar with a wonderful atmosphere. We spent a number of evenings in here. Great service by attentive friendly staff

A great NYC bar

By nicholasg293 |

Awesome selection of draft beers and drinks, lively atmosphere with plenty of screens showing sport. Nice and vibrant place with friendly staff. Has an upstairs area but not as good vibe as the downstairs area. Enjoy a few drinks here when you stay in NYC

Great atmosphere, food and beer

By Chrisgottard |

Had a great couple of hours in the three monkeys! The buffalo wings and house burger were great and the range of beers fantastic! Highly recommended if you are ever in New York!

Great Place for a drink and solid bar food

By rlee2000 |

Ate at Three Monkeys last Thursday before attending a taping of Late Night with Stephen Colbert and I realized that this is my go to place when I don't have plans for a sit down meal. I have been there several times over the past 5 years and the food is always good, the service is friendly, and the prices are low. It can be very noisy if there is a big sporting event on the big screens but the atmosphere is lively and fun. Recently had the crispy chicken wings and pork tacos. Both very good.

Very personable waitstaff

By TXVicky |

We were staying next door at The Ameritania for a week in NYC so this became our go to happy hour or after show or dinner stop off. The first night we went, we were the oldest people in there and it was packed at both bars upstairs and down. However, the waitress upstairs couldn't have been nicer. Their house wines are $10 which is cheap for NYC. We frequented this place several times and were never disappointed. We met a lot of the locals that hang out there and the waiters downstairs knew what we wanted as soon as we sat down. This is a very popular spot with locals and travelers alike. Don't miss out going here.

Greta food. Great service. Great location.

By CarolAnn G |

I don't eat meat so I am used to only having 2 choice on a menu - surprise - I had more!! Came with two friends - wanted a lite menu for dinner and good conversation - we got both and were not rushed! The food was very good. We asked the server for her recommendations- which turned out to be very good!! Great fish tacos, sliders and wings!! Never felt rushed. Good food. Good drinks. Good service.

Great for after theater drinks and light meal or snack

By shesmi2017 |

The Three Monkeys is across the street from the hotels we stayed at on 2 separate dates, so it was a perfect casual place to stop after theater. The drinks are good and we loved sharing a sausage flatbread one time and a margarita flatbread another time. 30

Great Patriots bar

By RiceWP |

Being a fan of the New England Patriots, it could be difficult finding a game on TV when you’re not in New England. This was exactly what we needed while in New York City. The food was very good. We had buffalo wings and nachos and meatballs and some of the other things on there appetizer menu. The beer was also very good and the crowd was full of patriot fans and they were great as well. If you’re looking to watch a Patriots game in New York City, this is your place.

Great Place to Watch the Game

By jrieff2016 |

As Dallas Cowboys fans we found ourselves in NYC for the Thanksgiving Holiday. We searched for a Sports Bar near our hotel. Earlier in the week, our hotel concierge provided some recommendations. The Three Monkeys was at the top of this list. Everyone welcomed us with open arms even though the Giants were playing the Cowboys. Great atmosphere, great service, and great food. Very friendly staff. Their selection of beers is SUPERB.

Amazing comedy show upstairs of this funky bar/restaurant -- don't miss it!

By Sachin |

My wife and I attended the comedy show upstairs here at the Three Monkeys, and it's a hidden gem! Really, really amazing comedians who were super funny, and I couldn't believe how good the food was (and the cocktails, which I'm picky about). The show was the right length -- not too long. This is like one of those hidden, amazing NYC things that you hear by word-of-mouth and are blown away when you actually experience it for yourself. Would come back in a heartbeat!

A Fabulous Bar

By D66S68 |

We found this fabulous bar right opposite the hotel we were staying in. It is a brilliant place with a fantastic beer and cocktail menu. We were with a group of 6 friends so it was a great place to meet before we went out and even better for a night cap. The staff were all superb and were very attentive and knowledgable about the numerous beers that they have on tap. On our last day just before we were picked up for the airport we had lunch and the food was great. You can't go wrong with this place if you just want a drink or bar food it is fabulous.

Ticks all the boxes

By Andrew |

Visiting New York for a few days and stopping in a nearby hotel, decided to drop in for a craft ale And ended up staying all night. A brilliant choice of ales from IPA’s to sours, Belgian to stouts. Decided to stay as I said and tried food as well, this didn’t disappoint either. Chicken wings, disco fries, calamari and cauliflower flatbread ( which was outstanding) Friendly staff Great atmosphere Amazing choice Outstanding food Will be back !!

Buzzy bar with nice food options

By Bondi_Phil |

We stopped in here for a bite to eat after the theater. The place was buzzing but they found a table for us. Food options are not just an afterthought here and we enjoyed the sliders and flatbreads. Service was great and we settled in for a spell....

Awesome spot

By Charlie |

Went all around the area to find a suitable bar, Three monkeys was comfortable, clean, had a happy vibe and the atmosphere was overall great:) would definitely return

Good beer

By Matt S |

We stopped here for late afternoon drinks. The bar was a bit dark inside, tbu thte staff here was friendly and excellent, with a very good beer list. Not a bad place to stop by.

Lovely bar, amazing drinks, welcoming staff.. Open Christmas Day!

By pread83 |

The perfect place to relax with friends and family. Great range of drinks including wine, beers and cocktails. Beers that I haven’t found anywhere else in NYC. Lovely decor. Brilliant bar to find on Christmas day. Low level music, a great atmosphere! We will be back!

Unbelievable beef burgers

By CJLM3 |

Staying at the Ameritania next door we decided to try this little restaurant. What a great decision it was! The typical American bar/food area, great atmosphere, sport on 5+ TVs and the beef burgers were to die for! The best I’ve ever had. Would recommend this place to everyone!

Great Bar, good times, great drinks.

By Stephen S |

Stopped in at this pub several times during visit to New York with friends. Great service, atmosphere, and cold drinks. Would recommend this as a stop during your next New York visit.

Best time always

By Vanessa R |

Micky and Sam are the best bartenders. It was my friends birthday and we had an absolute blast! I always come here, and their food is also amazing! Good choice if you decide to come here.

Friendly and Fun Vibe

By Darlene DK |

Had a chance to have a late breakfast at Three Monkeys while I waited for my hotel room at the Courtyard. The server was friendly and attentive and offered great suggestions. Later that Saturday night I went back for cocktails with a friend and the place was busy but there was room on the second level. Great drinks, good atmosphere and seems like a good nightlife spot!

Hit the Spot

By DianeXit98 |

Very convenient to my hotel, I had a really nice lunch here. Not overly crowded when I arrived a little before noon and cozied up to the bar. Attentive service, great selection of beer, and what a great burger. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend and will visit again.

Excellent

By Brian C |

Really cool spot with friendly and quick service. Staff was knowledgeable about different drinks. Burger and the buffalo chicken spring rolls were delicious.

Fantastic Bar

By Mark j |

We recently stay in the hotel opposite the 3 Monkeys and would visit most days for drinks. We always found the staff excellent and very attentive. We would go in at least once a day. On couple of occasions we had food and it hot, well presented and of a good quality. I would highly recommend the 3 monkeys bar.

Great atmosphere and good location

By Hannah |

We were staying in the hotel next door so used this bar as a base which was great as it is quirky, friendly and serves excellent food. They show all the sports and when the games are on the atmosphere is brilliant. The serving staff were always friendly and the food was delicious. Well worth a try!

Nice blend

By GeneseoSupremo |

It’s kinda hip and a little sexy, it’s a restaurant and a pub, and it’s a nice mix of all of them where you can hang out in a group of even. Y yourself. I walked in and felt an “ugh” in my gut - you know, an NYC bar trying to be too much - but I gave it a chance and liked it. Friendly service too, that helped.

Great atmosphere

By Marius P |

Went here for some beer. Great beer selection and attentive staff. People next to us had food and it looked delicous.

Good time, Good food

By RayNTam53 |

Stopped in during happy hour for drinks and a snack. I had no problem finding something we wanted on the happy hour menu. Ordered the vegetarian dumplings. Tasted good, but over steamed. Plenty of room on a Tuesday night.

Right opposite, perfect

By Angele65 |

We were staying right opposite the three Monkeys 🐒 🐒🐒 and this was a must try as it was always buzzing. We came here twice during our week long visit. The cocktails were lovely as was the calamari and such fantastic portions too. The service was always very good and very friendly chatty staff, we were made most welcome on both occasions. A lovely warm friendly atmosphere and so many locals frequenting the place. Highly Recommend

Good Beer Selection

By Brenda C |

We came in for a beer and had two. A very good beer menu and a knowledgeable bar man. Place is good for eating at the bar or at tables. Clean and warm. There were plenty of people in when we were there the music wasn't too loud and the ambience was good.

A Fantastic Meal

By Melvin K |

A wonderful surprise. It was across from our hotel and it was raining,. Glad we did. They have the best nachos we ever had - and we go to Mexico every year. We also had buffalo wings which were terrific. Crispy ad extremely tasteful. Will definitely go to when we go back to New York.

Great bar

By Andrea B |

Brilliant bar, great atmosphere. Convenient location across from the Hilton hotel. Their nacho's are great amd the staff are good fun.

Fun bar

By Helena_Cadena |

Conveniently located in midtown this bar offers a great selection of draft craft beers. The friendly bartender will recommend one if you are unsure. They also have a nice cocktail menu that I haven’t had the chance to try yet. Wrap and fries were good, specially for bar food that tends to be subpar. Music selection was fun and volume allowed to have a conversation. Will definitely go back to try some of their cocktails

Hoped for more

By 3lionsfan |

Went based on really high ratings. Arrived about 6;30PM, was seated at upstairs bar. Place was busy, people getting drinks/food before shows I'm guessing. Not far from Times Square. Thoughtful selection of draft beers, divided in the menu by type, which is helpful. Selection also shown on screen near our table. Based on that ordered only to find out it was out. Which always bums me out more than it should. Prices for food and drinks seemed a bit high, even by NYC standards. Also tricky to hold a conversation due to volume of music being played. Ordered wings (southern style), sliders, nachos. All were a pretty nice representation. Service was decent.

Quality draft beer

By Paul B |

Sneaked out for a few hours from family for a few beers. Enters the three monkeys and was in for a treat. Great IPAs all quite strong but very hoppy and tasty. A must for a British ale drinker on tour in NYC.

Eat, drink and enjoy!

By 232tmg |

We returned to the city for the week and decided to stop into one of our favorite bar and restaurants with the intention to also see a friend and visit with her. We walked into the bar and immediately saw the familiar face we were looking for behind the bar, she still remembered us and also remembered what my drink preference was. The bar was lively as usual, we took a seat at a table and immediately had water and our drink order taken. I found a very interesting and unique beer on the menu, which was also on draft, and being as picky as I am with beer I was confident it would be a winner. The beer was better than I expected, a dark chocolate flavor combined with some vanilla, it was one of the best I had found yet. The selection of beer on draft here has grown significantly to include more of the specialty and craft beers which I find significantly better than the boring big box beers. I decided to try the garlic parsley fries for the first time and they were wonderful. The garlic was applied in just the right amount, not overpowering and paired perfectly with the parsley. Ketchup of course came with the fries, alongside a second dipping sauce which just enhanced the flavor altogether. It was a chipotle mayo which blended perfectly with the garlic in the fries. I was craving a burger so I also ordered a burger, they can build an elaborate burger there but I prefer a cheeseburger. I was able to order the cheeseburger medium rare, this is not an option at an establishment with just a mediocre kitchen staff. The burger was cooked perfectly, the quality meat was obviously very fresh and cooked over fire to enhance the flavor and provide that fire grilled taste. Dinner was excellent, the food literally did not take very long we were checked up on consistently to ensure everything was perfect. Christina ensured we were taken care of and knowing my preference of drinks I did not have to worry about perusing the vast whiskey list. This is a class act and this is one reason why we keep coming back, we also return to see Christina, she is a great person and applies an oversight to ensure everyone feels welcomed and receives great customer service. There are a lot of bars and restaurants in this area but none who can excel across the board like these guys. Cheers!!

Great Happy Hour spot

By Mymilesandsmiles |

The first thing that hits you when you walk into Three Monkeys is its massive size: Not only does the bar go back deep, but there's also a second level with a full bar A spacious, gastro-style craft beer pub with a lounge-y feel, and a balcony overlooking the first floor. They have over 30 beers on draft and a unique menu of small plates with a twist—oysters, mussels, hot dogs, sliders, flatbread pizzas and more. They're always showing the big games on giant TVs. Was here on a random night with a group of girls for some drinks, food and much needed catch up. Downstairs was very packed around 7pm so we settled upstairs. Bartender was very friendly and took our orders fast (always a plus!). We ordered French fries, nachos and flatbreads everything was good and well-priced. Definitely recommend if you are in the area

New York-style dinner

By Grégory A |

Our experience at The Three Monkeys restaurant in New York was very convivial. The warm welcome and the typical atmosphere of a New York bar immediately immersed us in the atmosphere of the city. The quality of the food was also on point, offering a delicious selection to accompany our evening. A recommended address to experience the essence of New York.

Good break waiting for a show

By Anne C |

Place was packed but we had drinks and apps at the bar. Cheese plate was really good as was the cheese dip. Prices typical for NYC. Super busy. Wait staff pretty attentive.

Randomly found this place, looking for a good beer list that would accommodate my toddler. The beer was phenomenal and the service was great.

Quick bite

By bearcj |

Was seeing a show around the corner so stopped here from a quick bite before the show. Had a few apps and all had burgers. I had a lamb burger which was delicious. Service was courteous and friendly. Drinks were ok. Cosmos were a little weak. Would stop in again

Lovely spot. Great service and food.

By peter b |

Visited the mean fiddler a couple of weeks back while on my holidays and I was not disappointed! Excellent food and excellent service! Our waitress Kayleigh was great and gave us great advice where to do some shopping! Really recommend the shepherds pie and buffalo chicken spring rolls!. Have to say I would go back for the service alone. Thank you Kayleigh for making our day.

Had great brews and chews!

By kgmaronski |

It was fab beer and an excellent kitchen. Great staff. Seated quickly. Hats off to that chef! Chez fab.

Great beer and food

By imthewoman2blame |

We were here for dinner on December 30. We were immediately seated, although there was a large crowd. The beer selection was large and the food was great! We ordered 4 entrees and no one was disappointed. We would definitely eat here again. Service was slow, but we were not in a hurry so it was not a problem.

Great American Pub Expirience

By Kafula M |

The pub was just next door from the Hotel we stayed at so it was very convenient. The selection of drinks was impressive the food was great and well presented. The bar lady was on point and you felt like a refill every time the glass emptied. if you looking to experience american pub life I would highly recommend.

Great place to watch sport, eat & drink!!’

By Mobile53679837230 |

Great afternoon spent here watching American sport! Really fun atmosphere & tasty food! Just off busy broadway, fantastic find!

Okay for a late night bite

By Barry H |

The Three Monkeys is next door to the Ameritania Hotel where I stayed. We did not arrive until 2:00 a.m. because of a late flight. The crowd was young with it seeming to be a sort of pickup place at that time. The late-night menu was limited. The service was excellent although the food was mediocre. I cannot say that I would go there again, but it served its purpose.

Don't judge a book by its cover

By Offpeak |

At first glance it looks like any Irish pub/bar in the city so you can easily pass it by and when you walk in you will wonder what the good rating is about. But trust me. They have amazing Buffalo Chicken Sliders, and a great beer selection. The beer selection changes regularly, is extensive, and you can even see the keg levels on the screens. The bar staff are friendly. The also have an upstairs bar which we've had work parties at. Trust me. Try the Chicken Sliders. Its become my weekly lunch treat.

Cool Little Place

By COBB64 |

The drinks here are great! Compliments to the bartender. The food was great, too. The cauliflower soup was super. I also had wings, which were great. Service was right on. One of the best Old Fashions I've had in a while.

Great amount of beer on tap

By Gerbra_10 |

This is a slick bar, with lots of beers on tap. There is a beer menu which is categorised to help Choice your favourite or try a new beer. I opted for a Bluepoint Toasted lager, very nice ad lighter than the dark colour. Food wise I opted for the buffalo chicken salad, tasty and the chicken had a good kick. Just off time square, this is not a tourist trap with many locals having lunch here.

Great stop for lunch!

By Winona H |

We were in Times Square area and headed actually to another restaurant when we came acrossed this place. Took a look at the menu and then the reviews and decided to give it a try. Great place! Had the Margherita flatbread which was excellent! My daughter had the three cheese dip and chips and my husband had the Three Monkeys Burger and both were very good. So glad we stopped in!

NYC

By Ryan C |

Great atmosphere, lovely staff. Visited twice as food and atmosphere was so good especially during the Super Bowl. Would deffo visit again.

Cool Place

By D M |

This place had a really great vibe and ambiance. However it lacked something. The food was just okay. It tasted a little chainish. We shared the nachos and flatbread. Didn't care for the flat bread at all. The bartender was very quiet. Not very outgoing. But everyone was nice. Service was okay. I can see that this place has a lot of potential. Just need to add some zing to the food and the bartenders.

Do not come here!!!

By Maria Carvajal |

Do not come here!!!!! It is so sad to write this review because the servers were so nice. The manager, or the guy who was at the host stand wearing a flannel was disgusting. I vape nicotine and unfortunately it has become a habit for me to just take a hit. I took one and he came over and rudely told me I couldn't smoke, which I understood. About 30 minutes later, because of my habit, I went to take another hit, however, I stopped myself because I remembered what he said. Seconds later, he comes over, after I didn't take a hit, and extremely rudely says he will throw me out of the establishment. I said I was sorry, and he said "It is the second time, I don't buy it", even though I didn't even take a "hit". I answered back to him, because as a woman I am not going to let a man raise his voice at me and disrespect me, especially when I caught myself before even doing anything wrong. He went away for a minute, and came back with the check and just said "Here's the check, get the f out". Extremely rude, disgusting customer service. Never going back there, and would not recommend to anyone ever! I have worked in multiple customer service jobs, and this is NOT the way to treat a customer, especially as your second "warning". Disgusting behavior!

Great atmosphere for a simple dinner

By mjuliennow |

Stopped in here for a simple bar food dinner and wasn't disappointed. Nice beer menu and good simple food. I had the cubano sandwich and it was just the right thing while we watched the football game.

Not only snacks and beers

By Stanislaw |

Good place to fight the hunger, not only with snacks, because it serves main courses as well. Huge selection of beers, TVs to watch sports, good ambience. Remember to dress warm!

Excellent

By Paul T |

My wife and I went here for a late dinner after a show at the comedy cellar on our anniversary weekend and we were not disappointed. The service was very friendly. The atmosphere was fun but not too loud, small and cozy. There are several TV screens with people getting into the games. There were many beer options on tap and lots of great appetizers. My wife is a vegetarian also. We ended up just getting 4 appetizers to share for dinner and they were all delicious. You might need a reservation for busy times but we walked in and got a table close to 9 pm on a Saturday. I would definitely go back.

Nice bar.

By cksrp |

We stopped in just for a quick drink. Good beer selection. Friendly bartender. Neat place — definitely glad we stumbled onto it.

Late night drink + food

By Glenn K |

Loud music but full pour drinks and quick food service made for a great late night stop. Fish tacos were the right choice!

Fun night

By Lisa04 |

Great comedy spot - about $12 for the night (Wed) and about 8 comedians in short sets. Service was great, we had fun. You will get picked on!

Great bartenders, great drinks and food

By flosue |

We went there twice during our visit and both times we sat upstairs. We ate and had drinks. Very comfortable, nice waitstaff. Really enjoyed our nights here. Very busy bar.

The Best Burger I've ever tasted.

By Mike C |

The Best Burger I've ever tasted by far, although I'm sure in the USA they have many good ones to choose from, whilst coming from the UK, we are not exactly spoilt for choice.

Our third visit in 6 years, and still superb!

By Julian C |

Great beers, good music, live sports on the tv's and burgers that are to die for! We've always had a great time here, and this visit was no different - great servers who knew about the beers they sold, who got them to your table pronto! Great place

Loved the Flatbreads

By GPaCalgary |

We had a late evening meal here with a few beers. The flatbreads that we ordered included the turmeric cauliflower as well as the brisket. Both were excellently flavored. I ordered the quinoa bowl which was great. Our other guest really enjoyed her burger. We also enjoyed very good service.

Mediocre evening

By Rebecca S |

The atmosphere and decor is good, and the music is also upbeat. But I wasn’t overly impressed with the food or service (service was slow). We ordered sliders, and having not asked how we wanted them cooked they turned up rare enough that they were bloody, which really isn’t a one size fits all option. So if you order meat here, make sure to tell them how you want it or you may be disappointed. Apart from that it wasn’t awful, but there are other bar/restaurants in the area for similar pricing that seem to do much better food.

would be even better ..

By David N |

.. if they turned down the music. Excellent craft beer range in a popular bar but there is an upstairs bar too. Styled as a sports bar - they have 11 TVs - and when they have sports on, the volume on the TVs is so loud that you have to shout to speak in both bars. Avoid at those times.

Great Irish Bar

By rebecca s |

Enjoyed the fantastic atmosphere at Three Monkeys while waiting for the Colbert show. Nikki was a fabulous bartender. Good drinks at fair prices. Very friendly place for visitors to New York!

Very Cool Pub With Great Drinks and Food

By DeanandTarra |

Stopped here before a theatre show and chilled at the bar upstairs. The bar has a very cool vibe and is very popular, great music, fun atmosphere. We ordered the flatbread which was delicious. Drinks and service were good. Definitely will be back.

Three Monkies

By Brittney S |

Came here on vacation and the service was great! The waitress was so fun! She took time to recommend many things in the bar as well as for the rest of our trip! Great atmosphere!

Pretty good, reasonable enough

By Deirdre C |

Service was great, lovely girl. Food was pretty good too, until I got to the end of my French fries where they were soggy and not fully cooked. Otherwise, burger was very good, service great and good atmosphere.

Lunch

By Dainellya |

My friend and I decided to go here due to the location. The service was great and well as the cocktails.

Good bar

By Ed Robson |

We were staying next door to used The Three Monkeys as a local during our stay. We always found the atmosphere to be great and the staff were very good.

New Year winter trip

By picorell75 |

Excellent sports bar to enjoy leisure time with friends, two floors with plenty of drinks and TV sets to see all kinds of sport events.

Great food & great atmosphere

By Romano C |

Stopped off for dinner. The food was great especially the three Monkey sliders and giving the choice of which three was even better. Great place would highly recommend.

Relaxed atmosphere

By Leslie H |

Easy to find. Great place to hang out and watch sports. Friendly staff. Good beer selection. Loved their cheese plate - not too much. Nice variety on the plate.

Sport Sunday

By Alfie C |

Spent the majority of Sunday afternoon in this bar watching the numerous NFL games on the multiple screens. Great beer, food and atmosphere (and very Christmassy). Would recommend if you fancy a break from tourist attractions.

For friends, events or fun!

By Ratalie |

Very nice spot (and balcony!) for is nice and love the beer selection. We had an event and the atmosphere was what we were looking for during NY TECH Week. Recommended! Thanks for having us.

Good bar to drop in for a drink

By BecBelle |

Good bar to drop in for a drink. Lacked atmosphere and the barmaid had to check how to make a drink! One drink and we left

Great food & drinks!

By Jcassata |

We stayed at the hotel next door and there was a snow storm during our stay, so we went next door for an app & drinks. They have a big beer & liquor selection and the entire menu looked awesome. We opted for the chicken satay, pretzels & buffalo wings. Everything tasted really good and cooked perfectly. Would definitely visit again next time I’m in NYC!

Great midtown pub

By Mark C |

Vibrant pub bar scene in midtown west - great selection of 36 beers (many local craft beer options). A little dark inside for me, but otherwise it’s a nice comfortable scene. Food was also really good and reasonably priced. The buffalo wings and fish tacos were very tasty! Really friendly and efficient servers, with lots of happy customers enjoying themselves, made it a fun evening! Recommended!

Literally 20 yards from the hotel! Great spot too!

By Andrew S |

Loved the atmosphere and friendly staff! Also check out Ivy a few blocks over. Kendal is behind the bar and is awesome. Made us feel welcomed.

Fab, fun, friendly bar with great beer and food

By ThoultonShoulton |

Fantastic bar just a short walk up from Times Square and opposite the Marriott at 1717 W54th. Awesome beer list, great food, comedy in the evenings upstairs, and best of all really engaging bar staff. We were a party of six from the U.K. and had a drink there every day during our stop at the Marriott. We could have gone anywhere for our last drink in New York at the end of the trip, but this was a no brainer.

Standard pub fare

By Cynthia O |

Stopped in for Quick bite prior to a broadway show. The waitress was very helpful in getting us served in time for our show. The food was ok. The dumplings were flavorful but a bit soggy. Calamari was too chewy and the nachos were standard. Filled the void but wished it was better.

Great find

By D&M |

Stumbled across this place when looking for bars in NYC. It never disappoints, we went back 3 times in 3 days. Great reception, great staff, very friendly & attentive, food was delicious, cocktails were decent. Overall great vice & best service in New York

Brilliant bar!

By 48charleyl |

Friendly bar staff, reasonable prices. Great atmosphere. Sports on the TV, Would definitely visit again ☺️

Great Place for Drinks

By Tgator |

We just dropped by for drinks, and we are so glad that we did! Great atmosphere and unique architecture! Highly recommend!

Cheap booze

By Alex |

Cheap booze and delicious curry fries. As a solo traveller, the staff were very friendly and helpful too.

Don't show up with a doggy box / bag!

By Rob S |

They get a little credit for having Wiehenstephaner on tap and a good music mix, so that wins them an additional star. Otherwise it would have been just one. But we found this situation ridiculous: we had been out on the town, had a nice dinner and had a box of leftovers with us when we wanted to drop by for a nightcap - had been there the previous night, the place was right by our hotel and it was enjoyable enough that we wanted to go back. The bouncer told us we couldn't bring in any food, they serve their own. I told him we just wanted a drink, we had eaten our fill and this was just our doggy box. He insisted that we could not bring any food in, we could leave it at the front if we want to go in for a drink. This is pretty bizarre. They could just as well warn or inform us that we should not consume any outside food, and we could confirm that we had no such intention, and we would both be fine. But no. We left, and the next two nights we chose other places for our evening drinks. And the next several nights as well, as we are still here for a while. Things are working out just fine, the city has plenty of choices, but they definitely missed a chance to win some new loyal customers. Loosen up!

Great atmosphere

By CTLark |

Well curated beer menu in a relaxing atmosphere with friendly bar staff. Mix of neighborhood residents, after theatre crowd and tourists. Fairly moderate noise level (for a bar), soundtrack that keeps everyone happy. As someone who has sampled many of the bars in the north end of Times Square, this is one of the best.

Late night

By beaumontfranco |

I was in the neighborhood late night and got hungry only problem is it was very late. I went asked someone in a neighboring restaurant who’s kitchen was unfortunately closed at the time and they pointed me in the direction of The Three Monkeys. It was a Friday night so it was decently packed but the bartenders still found me a spot at the bar and served me almost immediately. The wings were great and beer selection was as well. Can’t wait to be back!

Great beer list and bar food

By BeerVenturer |

Just around the corner from the theater district, great beer list and good food! Split the fish tacos and a salad. Tacos are small but very good and food is reasonably priced for being “in the thick of things”. Lots of TVs. I’d go back.

YUP - This is a good spot to go

By Danny F |

We came in twice in Three days. We stayed across the street at the Hilton and we saw much of the city. Margarita Flat bread is very good with a few cold beers when you first arrive in the city. Had some good wings too. We had dinner here one night after a long day and everything was very good. Bartenders downstairs are super nice and the folks upstairs were awesome as well for dinner. Cool place. TVs. We Loved the music selection they had. This was the best time we had for snacks, drinks and a meal while in NYC.

Fantastic place for drinks!

By davidwiley15 |

First of all, the drinks are fantastic. The atmosphere of the place is warm, and the food taste really good. It is a great place to hang out and get some drinks.

Great spot!

By Gaby I |

Love this place!!! Stayed at the hotel across the street and came in for one beer - ended up grabbing a bite to eat and having a few more drinks. Upbeat music without being too loud to have a conversation. Great beer selection. Will definitely come back!

Good Drinks and Good Vibes

By Believeland37 |

My husband and I went here for a few drinks and the selection was very good. There were lots of options and I really liked the vibe. I would recommend going here for drinks if you are in the area, but I wouldn't go out of the way to come here. You can find other bars like this throughout NYC.

Good food and service

By debbiegraham2021 |

Stopped here for our first night, didn’t stray too far from our hotel, Beer was cold and fries and flatbreads were tasty and not complicated- still adjusting to the time zone. Our waitress was quick and efficient.

Great bar

By Kev&Ruby |

What a great friendly bar. Great selection of drinks. Really lovely competent staff. An amazing find for our recent holiday. Can’t recommend enough.

A Must Try If In Greenwich, CT

By Dwyer |

July 2024, came here with some friends and sat at the bar that is very comfortable. As soon as you walk into the restaurant you get a nice vibe. The restaurant reminds me of the restaurants that I eat at in South Fla. I love the openness, and cool warm paint colors on the walls, plus the overhead lamp shades, plants and wooden ceiling gives the restaurant a Fla vibe in my opinion. I especially love the mural on the back wall of Frida Kahlo a Mexican painter known for her many portraits, self-portraits, and works inspired by the nature and artifacts of Mexico. You can tell the owner has paid a lot of attention to detail. Also, I like the dark green paint and brass door hands of entrance way into the restaurant, and the window are kept very clean. One note, about the entrance to the restaurant. The concrete holes need to be filled in from the restaurant before where the Happy Monkey letters are because it looks messy. Now for my review about the food and service. A big Shout out to our Bartender, JP who was wonderful, he really took great care of the three of us at the bar. We started out with a few snacks. The Crispy Tortillas and 3 Salsas. The chips were delicious and warm when they came out, however my friends complained about them being too salty. Warm Treats, we had the Smoked Ham and Manchego Cheese Fritters (5 on a plate) that was delicious, should have been nice to give 6 on a plate. Then for Warm Treats section ordered Sizzling Shrimp with Garlic, the shrimp was fresh and the flavoring had a little hot kick to it. Also ordered the BBQ Beef Tacos that was fresh and delicious, however would have been nice to have 3 instead of 2 tacos. All and all, this restaurant is a must try if your ever in the area.

Great bar!

By Stevnich1991 |

Great selection of beers and a few cocktails, good food and good atmosphere. Just away from the madness of Times Square.

Quick bite

By cblais11 |

We were staying next door so we popped in here for a quick bite. We got the quesadilla and margaritas. The quesadilla was FANTASTIC! Like the best one I've ever had! The Marg on the other hand, one of the worst. It was all sour and no booze. No bueno on that. So if you're here, get a quesadilla and a cervesa!

Great place in Manhattan

Friendly staff, great music and beer. A great selection of beers and IPA’s. A must if you are in the city!

On the short list of great pubs / bars

By TennisBum P |

I'm always looking for that bar / pub that has decent food and a good collection of craft beers (specifically, not a list that is 75% IPAs). Too often I find the "good" bars -- decent food, corporate beers, lots of TVs. They're fine, but I'd like something better (to me). Three Monkeys is one that is better. Some good food choices. Excellent beer options. Some good waitstaff.

Excellent selection of beers and great music

By Akis I |

Went for a chill out beer pad for a couple of hours. The selection of beers was surprisingly great and the music was Suberb. Was a great experience. The bartenders were always smiling and polite even with difficult and demanding people around. A Must visit in Midway Manhattan.

Great brisket sliders

By Jacqueline W |

Loved the food and atmosphere. Great place to relax and get a drink and refuel for the rest of your day or nitr

Doorman was hostile, rude and not welcoming at all…

By Tracey o |

We arrived at the place having read so many great reviews to be greeted by a very rude doorman. He demanded to see our id , at first i thought he was joking to check i was over 21 but i then realised he was serious. I said i dont have any id and we have been in america for 10 days and so far noone has asked me.. he started to become hostile so i very calmy said I thought he was being rude to us and there really was no need.. we were actually staying so close to the bar has he just politely said its our policy etc i would have been more than happy to get it.. clearly this man is in the wrong job.. not friendly at all.. I employ 75 staff plus and would sack immediately any of my staff who spoke to a customer like that.. there really was no need for it and i have now checked online and cant see anywhere that states i need to legally carry id around in the states. Infact to the contrary the police cannot even demand id from people. Very disappointed ☹️

Just Walked In, Glad We Did

By mikel68 |

We were heading to the subway and decided to stop in for a late lunch. The menu is simple, but has lots of variety, which is odd. We ordered gourmet type sliders and chicken and waffles. Everything was made really well. Service was on spot but not too pushy. Beer was cold and there's a nice selection of cocktails. The have some brunch menu specials, but we didn't order from it. Drop in from the heat, air-conditioning also hit the spot.

Great Service

By Mike |

Stopped for quick appetizers and beers with 2 teens and seven adults. (The teens had sodas) Super great service and the food was spot on. Sweet vibe in here. Great selection of beers, we all left happy and smiling. Good choice.

Sports bar with a cool environment

By Joyful9995 |

My friend and I loved this bar/restaurant so much we went several times during our stay in NYC. Our bartender Christina was so wonderful and her margaritas are awesome! The food was great as well. The hamburger, nachos and disco fries were yummy!! This bar has a Cheers feel for me and I would absolutely go back the next time I am in town. Great people, food and atmosphere. You can’t go wrong here!

Great atmosphere in the City

By 230cabm |

Was there with a few friends last weekend. Had the lamb sliders, which was very good. The beer selection is good. The only negative side that I didn't like....the music was playing too loud and we couldn't hear each other at the table. The loud music didn't leave much room for conversation...

Great Sports Bar

By Lori |

We were staying next door at the Ameritania, and since the hotel’s restaurant and bar are still closed, we decided to try out this place. I am so glad we did. We ended up going back here several times during the course of our trip. First things first: disco fries. These are the best things ever: crisp on the outside, soft on the inside, salty, but not too much so, just very, very good food, especially when it comes to pub fare. I did try to change things up at one point and order the nacho fries (which are also very good, the pico very fresh), but immediately went right back to my favorite fries. The drinks are good and very reasonably priced, and the waitstaff is friendly and very attentive. With sports playing on all the tvs downstairs (and sports fans cheering on their teams) and a comedy show upstairs, it can be a bit loud. However, the overall vibe (at least when I was there) was fun. I even caught myself helping the football fanatics cheer on a team (IDK who) during a particularly exciting point of a game. In short, this place has great food and a fun atmosphere, and I would highly recommend.

Great drinks, a great view

By JC P |

The Three Monkeys is a very classy place to eat and drink. Food is terrific. The tap list is very impressive. They have 3 floors. 1st floor is a classy bar with dark wood and very cool atmosphere. 2nd floor has a fantastic view of the street. More drinks and a comedy show on the third floor. A great after-play hangout.

Good spot for Happy Hour

By Chris M |

Excellent spot for happy hour. Nice, but not overwhelming, selection of beers. Appetizers were pretty good.

Good drinks

By Jack W |

The nachos were great! Good drinks. Dined outside, staff very attentive. Had a group of nine they handeled us ,no problem. Nice place for drinks after a show.

The best calimari

By Jeff B |

We went to have a couple beers and it was busy due to the Champions league finale. I got the impression most of the people were locals even though it is near many hotels. The beer drafts focused on the region which is a plus. The staff really worked hard to keep everyone happy during a peak hour. They even created a table at the bar for us so we could sit more comfortably. The item that sealed our enjoyment was the calimari. It was perfectly fried and there unique chili almond sauce was incredible. Great balance between a little heat, sweet and depth with the almond. It was a great appetizer. We went for drinks twice during our stay across the street.

LOUD Sports Bar!

By keeb56 |

New England leaning ...great service and good pub grub menu. They had at the time of our visit Comedy going on in a club room upstairs.

Great Pub in the Theater District

By Wesley C |

Great pub in the Theater District and a few blocks from Central Park. Went here for dinner before a Broadway show. Nice sports pub with about 3 dozen craft beers on tap. Had the Peppercorn Burger and Fries (with ketchup and cheese sauce for dipping). Was really good.

Good craft beer selection

By Lee L |

I am in the theatre district a lot on weekends to see shows and am always looking for a bar with a nice craft beer selection to hit beforehand. This place opens at 11 which is great. A very nice selection of NYC and New England craft beers. One downside would be the that a lot of the drafts listed on their website were not available when I got there. The service was good and so was the food, had the breakfast burger which was very good.

Good place for world cup watching

By TJRTravel |

Pros: on broadway close to Colbert. They show the world cup and turn on the commentary. Food was good. Cons: loud for those sensitive to noise. Service not great- couldn't give insight on beers and incorrectly described a dish we ordered (called it seared salmon when it was cured/smoked)

A sports bar not only for sports fans

By packedandready2go |

An upbeat but albeit noisy ambience makes this a bit different than the average sports bar. In fact most of the clients seemed to be people on dates. The house salad with chicken was good. There is a wide selection of craft beers. Friendly service

Great Theatre District Choice

By BreakingBrad |

Enthusiastic staff and good food at this theatre district bar which feels more local and less touristy than others nearby. Great beer selection.

One of my favorites in NYC

By krisgils33 |

I've been here multiple times now and it's always great. Good food. Great service. Took my husband for the first time and he enjoyed it as well. I will keep coming back!

Cory

By Cory R |

Great atmosphere. Bartender was a great mixologist. Our out of town group loved it and will highly recommend for our next visit.

Decent

By Philipengs |

It was good. We walked in about 5pm before the theatre rush hour - most tables were reserved but they got use a ridiculously small table which was rectified when they put two tables together at our request. The food was vert good - fish tacos, lamb tacos, salad, and the service was fine. Prices reasonable. Ambiance is ok - much like a pub

Great sports bar!

By Leah P |

We were stopping in the hotel opposite The Three Monkeys and visited twice during our stay. We went to watch two of the England World Cup football matches and it was a great atmosphere there. It was really spacious, with two levels and two bars! There were multiple screens dotted around the bar, with some even playing different matches and sports games so there was something for everyone. The drinks list was extensive and fairly priced. The food and bar snacks were also really good and the service was quick and efficient! I would highly recommend this sports bar!

Great place for beer and food

By TomLe |

We stopped by because it just looked so comfortable from the outside and it was when we stepped in. Great atmosphere, good food and a wide selection of beers. The burgers are really delicious! Prices are moderate.

Great restaurant

By OlJe74 |

Great place with delicious food and a wide selection of drinks. Unfortunately there were no flights, but even so I found the right drink for me.

Super Pub

By budlightyear |

I was looking for a good burger and a fun environment and found it at The Three Monkeys. Played 80s music and service was very attentive. Definitely will be a regular stop when I visit NYC.

birthday trip to nyc March 2018 - top bar!

By Mr K |

We found the three monkeys on day one of our trip to nyc - loved it. The guinness was superb! Chicken wings were top! We found ourselves going back almost every day during our nyc trip, on day two we made some great friends and as we were in nyc for St Patricks day we arranged to meet up for drinks - this is where nyc bit us - its not a cheap city to go drinking in! This is not a complaint, but be prepared to spend if you go! At $9 for a pint the bar bills can get pretty scary very fast - especially if you're in a group! Our bar bill for Paddys day for 4 people almost topped $700, little bit of food in there but mainly drinks, not cheap - BUT you are in NYC so expect to pay more. Staff were spot on, friendly, attentive and always cheerful. Range of drinks looked extensive - i say looked as i stuck to my guinness, my wife had a small variety but mainly bud light. Would definately recommen the three monkeys for a beer or snack if you find yourself in nyc at any point! If/when we go back to nyc, we will visit again.

Thumbs Up! Here’s what to expect at the Three Monkeys

By MrGaucho1987 |

It is a good sized sports bar. Two rooms (upstairs and down) with two bars. Plenty of televisions. Downstairs was a little darker and more relaxed. A quieter atmosphere. Upstairs is well laid out. Also they had the volume on the Eagle/Viking game turned way up. A bit too loud for me. The food was generally good. I like the sliders but my party loved the Nachos. And I must agree. They were generously prepared and very tasty. Service can be hit-or-miss at sports bars. Our service was excellent. Attentive but not intrusive. The bar turned drinks quickly. Overall, next time I return to NYC my first thought for a sports bar will be the 3 Monkeys. They are worth a visit. Note: This is a NE Patriots bar, so time your visit accordingly.

Wonderful first evening in NYC!

By markhall340 |

We arrived in New York after a 10-hours flight and were pretty exhausted. In this bar/restaurant, which was right across the street from our hotel, we drank some beer and ate some really tasty food. We enjoyed every minute there and returned to the Three Monkeys in the following week. Nice service as well!

Good value !

By Gregoire P |

For our first lunch our our first day of 2018 we got the perfect spot for a after party lunch and where nicely surprised by the great service and attention from the waiter ! Many thanks !

Good place for a quick snack

By azules25 |

We stopped here for a drink and snack before going to the theater. Service was quick and friendly.Drinks are reasonable priced.

Didn’t open on time

By Ra'Quel B |

Was looking for lunch. Came from out of town and we stood outside this restaurant waiting for it to open. 5 mins past the time and the restaurant still didn’t open on time. Which sucks for someone who isn’t from New York, we walked ten minutes to eat at this restaurant and yet it doesn’t open when it states it’s going to open.

QUITE EXPENSIVE

By SINGITLOUDSO |

Visited for dinner and drinks on Saturday and we were generally disappointed. The food was expensive but generally very plain. Fries had a strong fishy taste so presumably were cooked in the same oil. The salad on the burgers was very sparce also. Drinks were quite expensive too. All in all not as good as we expected and we didn't return for the rest of our trip. Found better quality and value nearby.

Very good sports bar

By Ron R |

Very good sports bar. Solid food and excellent beer choices. Also a full bar. Claire the bartender is outstanding.

Outrageously noisy and good.

By Timothy E |

Well, this is a popular hangout populated by a lot of locals, particularly after 5 and on weekends. I have stopped here for a meal on every trip to NYC since I usually stay across the street. The beer is cold. The service is friendly. The fish tacos are delicious. It is a happening place. The only downside is you might have trouble carrying on a conversation of trying to think. At lunch things are a lot quieter than at dinner. I would say not a first good date place but go there with friends and enjoy.

Great craft beer

By Dumz |

Great for craft beer right off Broadway. Tried the Pilsner and the Blonde and they were both pretty good. There are options to sit by the bar, or on high stools in front of it, or comfortable seats in the section inside.

VERY LOUD!

By Betsy S |

this place was "okay" but way too loud if you're over 50! The food was good, not exceptional and the prices were reasonable.

My new burger joint

By Stephen G |

I love cheese burgers and like to try out different places every where I go around the world. I found this place whilst walking back to my hotel - the staff are so nice - gotta do a shout out for Claire - the customer experience is excellent and the burger was superb - would highly recommend. This is a new fav of mine now.

No Beer Menu

By ModdyinVermont |

I usually stop here before my bus back to Vermont. But they didn't have a printed or posted menu for their 24 taps. One needs a device that can read a QR code. When I told the bartender I didn't have one, she just asked what type of beer do I like. How can I choose a beer if I don't know what they have? A good bar, but this is not acceptable. Must I print one and bring it with me?

Great place

By KristinEbbn |

Good food, friendly service, fair prices! Great place for dinner and a beer. The girl serving us was great!

A comfortable sweatshirt

By Marc W |

We went here because it had good reviews for draft beer selections. It did have that, and it also had a great comfortable neighborhood bar feel. Along with that it had great bar food. If you’re touring the city, tired, and your head is spinning this is a great place go. Like putting on a comfortable sweatshirt after a day in a suit.

Average food at best. Very loud

By tl4804 |

Stopped in for a relaxing evening meal. Watching some of the sports activities. A variety of beers are offered selected from a menu. I had a lager which was very good. I had the steak sandwich which was good. My wife had the tomato basil soup and cheese sandwich. Tomato basil was good but cheese sandwich consist of thick bread, Texas style, with maybe one piece of cheese. Very skimpy and not worth the cost. It was very loud and there was one group that was becoming quite obnoxious and rank. Don't think we'll be back.

Amazing! Had the finback double

By Andrew Hirrell |

Amazing! Had the finback double mosaic. Awesome place, great staff. Brilliant! Fright sky going back!

Quite simply the best bar in NYC!

By sunloverHerts |

Great bar, food is yummy, music is bang on and the staff are really friendly! The best in NYC in my opinion :)

Friendliest bar staff

By wayne b |

Visited numerous bars but by far the friendliest, lovely girl long blonde hair running the show making everyone welcome and always smiling, drinks very reasonable and food looked great my number one choice of bar on return!!

Light pub dining

By Mighty-Red |

We ate here a couple of times during our trip when we didn't want a full formal meal. The menu is pretty extensive and we enjoyed both the lamb burger and the chicken wrap. Wine is decent and reasonably priced and there is a good selection of beers including very drinkable IPA

Good find

By Stuzuki |

Stumbled on this place during a recent week staying in the Sheraton, so was a regular stop on most days after a days sightseeing for beer and on some days food. Great atmosphere, great choice of beer , good food and excellent service. Loved the sliders :).

Great selection of beer. Tasty food options. Typical expensive bill for the area.

By Steve H |

Stopped in for a bite to eat with our family. Great selection of beers. Typical tourist price point. Food was well served and tasty. A lot of post-work patrons with a bit of sheltered attitude. Service was stretched too thin as a result. No real seating for families so if you are okay with bar height tables all will be well. Enjoy the beer!

Cool bar

By mrpesce |

Stopped in with a group of friends for a short break and some drinks. The staff was exceptional and the decor is really cool. It's not far from Central Park but just off the beaten path enough that it's not crowded. Don't miss it.

The three monkeys speak no evil, see no evil, hear no evil .... Nothing evil about this bar well worth a visit

By Marco |

Great bar good food and drinks. Decent atmosphere and good bar staff, would definitely recommend for drinks at the bar as well as the food

First stop in the city

By sssmith0124 |

Great drinks, flatbread and delicious salads are only a start to what this pub has to offer. We enjoyed the arugula flatbread, sprinkled with balsamic vinegar and the house salad of arugula, apple, walnuts and blue cheese. Both were delightful!

You’ll like this bar

By CliveWatkins |

Now this is a great neighborhood bar in the mid 50s . Great bartender, great choices, and super bar good. Very accommodating staff, tvs everywhere, and just a great spot to watch the games of your choice. Clean, fun, nice clientele. It will be a regular visit in the neighborhood for us.

Great craft beers

By 180178 |

My daughter and I visited the three monkeys during a stay in New York. We ordered flatbreads and beers, which were a great choice for the football that was being showed on Tv. The atmosphere was very lively and fun. Our server Kayleigh, was very attentive and made sure we had lots of drinks and were made to feel welcome. A great evening!

Great Bar, Warm Welcome

By WestYorkshireFlossy |

This great venue was opposite our hotel on a recent trip to New York. Went a couple of times for drinks and a meal one evening. Great atmosphere especially if you like sports. The bar staff were absolutely spot on, very friendly and chatty. The food was pretty good, would consider it bar meals. All in all a great experience in a very busy part of the City that never sleeps. Competitive prices. Would definitely recommend. Will return

Worth trying

By Anne K |

As this place was just a few minutes away from our hotel 🏨 we decided to try it. The staff were pleasant. The food 🥘 was good and presented well. It’s worth trying. Probably would not go back.

Stop off after theatre

By Joe M |

Excellent sports bar atmosphere with giant screen TVs. Bar staff very friendly and personable. Beer prices reasonable for NYC. They made an exceptional Irish coffee. They have some very good food specials running now. My new go to bar after the theatre.
