Went with a party of friends for a celebration and ended up freezing and having to eat our food wrapped in blankets. Apparently the aircon was operated by a ‘highly sophisticated’ computer system which went wrong. I assume it had a basic off switch but clearly this was too technical for anyone to operate. Clearly service was not as it should have been but one member of staff tried to shift the blame on ‘us brits’ as we were ‘moaners’, indeed he wheeled out the poor chef to placate us as he was English. To add insult they still expected us to pay the 18% service charge, something we refused to do. It was a most unfortunate incident made worse by this one member of staff. However the food was wonderful and the chef very friendly, it was a pity he had to be dragged into things. This was my second visit to this venue, however I doubt I will make a third, purely because of staff attitude.

The ambiance of this restaurant , located on the 50th Floor of the Marriott Marquis Hotel is absolutely stunning. The food, though a bit on the high priced side, is delicious. The menu has an excellent variety of food (steaks, seafoods and veggies) Enough to satisfy virtually any palate. Service was attentive and professional. For special occasions this is the place to be!

We expected much more (view if always blocked by buildings) and if you compare this one to the revolving restaurant in Sydney Australia it is day and night. There you can't keep your eyes on the food because of the view. Value for money is ok when it comes to the food but I was extremely disappointed not to see even one organic wine. Service was very good and I really liked the fact that gratuity is included.

Amazing service that lacks in many restaurants Served wine by nixon and meals by sospeter who were so welcoming to us The view was priceless 👌 Amazing place

It was a good time, they didn’t rush us and we thought the food was good. Would go again with family.

Myself and the other half celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary here. Thankfully it was all that we could have hoped for. We went just before sunset and it was pretty awesome to watch the changing skyline and see NYC light up for the evening. The food was top draw and it came in a timely manor- I can’t abide waiting ages for my food, but they pitched it just right. It was a very serene experience, just watching Manhattan pass by....... We could not fault The View. Wonderful food, wonderful waiting staff and spectacular view - what’s not to love?

The view in this place is great. The food is average. My husband and I are a little on the older side and the concept of having the dining room spin throws us a little off guard. The cocktails were very good too.

Service was amazing; View was great; Food was excellent. Really appreciate the great experience overall.

This was the 3rd time I have gone to this restaurant and this time the change from the previous times has been huge. The Manhattan view has changed to much so the amazing view I remembered has disappeared, of course, this is not Restaurant fault but is a fact that people has to know when they are visiting this restaurant. Food quality and service also gone down from what I remember but the worst thing is the atmosphere...the times I went before it was a really distinguished atmosphere, yesterday was terrible, people wearing shorts, with Hawaiian shirts, group of young people shouting, etc... I always have recommend this Restaurant to anyone visiting NY not anymore.

We went to the Bar as part of our 1 year anniversary celebration. We started out with drinks at the rotating bar. The Staff was rude. The atmosphere dull. And while I fully expect to pay more in NYC, the prices for a glass of wine and a beer were utterly ridiculous. To say the least, we left. The view and slow ride around a revolving are NOT worth the time or effort. Very disappointed.

We were on vacation with friends and on the final leg of our road trip around New England before sailing home. We were staying in Manhattan and one evening we decided to visit Times Square. We had a great night. As the night was drawing to a close I said to our friends that I had a treat in store for them! I asked them to follow me. We arrived at the Marriott Marquis and I beckoned them to follow me into the lift to go to The View restaurant. When we arrived at the restaurant we asked if we could just have cocktails as we had already eaten. The waitress gave us a great table with a fantastic view! We enjoyed drinking cocktails for about two hours whilst sampling the glorious view of Manhattan from the revolving restaurant. We had a fantastic time! The staff were really friendly and extremely courteous and made our night. It was a fantastic end to the first leg of our wonderful holiday before boarding the Queen Mary 2 for our cruise back home. It’s a great place to drink and eat!

Very disappointing. First of all it would be important to inform the clients that tables are maximum for 4 ppl. If you are more than four you will be separated if you want to enjoy the virtual show. Unacceptable especially if you are a family with kids because the family will be split. Secondly the level of service is very poor and the personnel is clearly non trained for a supposed high-level restaurant. During the waiting time for the preparation of the table, the personnel offers you a cocktail (nobody told us what it was, and I have assumed that it was a Spritz, but not sure! Nothing have been offered to our 3 kids) and some appetizers. They put everything on the desk at the entrance and don’t go through the various clients. Food quality is medium-high, but clearly no wow. Wine pairing is a nightmare. The wine chosen for every dish is simply horrible..Unacceptable for Europeans! Please allow clients to chose a bottle of wine or to pay more to have better quality. At last, we wait 10 minutes (!!!) in a queue to have the elevator and go out…we were waiting for a lady from the restaurant with a badge which allows to call the elevator. Crazy! Animation and virtual show was funny. At the end the price is too high for what you get. And giving a French sounding name to the restaurant will not improve the quality.

I went there with my little sister. I ate food and took drinks here. Both are well and healthy. Amazing Restaurant.

Would anyone know about the sculpture that is by the elevator ,,, we took a picture by its side but we cant find any information about it ... so we would Glad Any info ... thank you all...

We were a party of 5 booked for Sunday 8th September at 11.am. The whole experience was amazing from start to finish. The views were truly wonderful and the food was lovely....plus the amazing service from our server Colette, nothing was too much trouble for her.....she’s a ⭐️

I take my family here every year for the Thanksgiving buffet. It is a great tradition we have really loved. the spread is amazing, and I recommend it to anyone!

Recently took our kids for dessert but the main purpose was to see the view of the city from up above at night. The food was ok but the view was great. Our server was excellent. Be warned, they charge a premium to go up after 8pm and gratuity is automatically added to your bill. Great place to go to see the city on a clear night

We went for the buffet at thanksgiving. We had to come early as they don’t take reservations. The view is impressive. Unfortunately you can not take picture because of the reflection in the windows The food is below average. Little choice and low quality. Desserts were tasteless Service was also not great. We went to the buffet and the waiter came twice only and we were automatically charged 18%.

I've been there several times and it's getting better every day. Delicious Mood, quick care and are very attentive, delicious dishes especially for children.

I went to this restaurant 20 years ago and it was very special, a proper fine dining experience with wonderful views. We returned this week. What a complete disappointment. It has gone completely down hill. The food was mediocre at best, the service was slow and poor. The restaurant itself is tired looking, and the ‘required dress code, (ie jackets for men) was not upheld. The whole ambiance was shabby and casual. Even the cocktails were disgusting. The ones we ordered arrived so quickly it was clear they had been pre made and were waiting to be handed out. They were tasteless and flat. I sent mine back but it was returned with just some extra sparkling wine slopped on top of it. There are so many fabulous restaurants in New York which serve delicious food with impeccable service. Don’t waste your time and money on this one. It is vastly overpriced for the experience and food you receive.

After attending a play down the street from The Marriott Hotel we returned to our room to freshen up for dinner. Took the elevator down to another select elevator to be whisked to the restaurant. Given a wonderful seat at the window so we could dine and watch the sunset over The City. What a wondeful experience since the dining room revolves 360 degrees in about 2 hours. The meals were well presented and delicious, limited menu, but choices for ever palate. The service was excellent but not over bearing. Attended to our needs quickly and with a nice smile. Bear in mind that it is a little pricey but hey it's New York City and as stated early the view is worth the price. price.

We Stayed at the Marriott for 2 nights 6th 7th October tried the View on Saturday 6th October. View Fantastic food lovely Waiters be CAREFULL. We took the 3 course set Menu 92 Dollars each.Bottle of Wine 66 Dollars Soda 6 Dollars. An automatic Service charge of 117.96 Dollars was added with Tax €396.68.Service. The lovely lady Amy at the hotel reception sorted it out in the end but wow watch this Restaurant Service average be Wary!!!

My wife and I decided ti give this restaurant "a spin" (forgive the pun). We stopped her for an after dinner drink on a clear and warm night in January. So nice to see so many NY sights without having to walk. The revolving restaurant is about 60 stories high deliverin g stunning views of New York views. FYI - There is an $8 elevator fee per person.

I state that I booked dinner for an anniversary. worthy location, you see everything ny. Good food, regular portions. I would have given it five stars, but with zero service it's 2.5. Let me explain: I paid about 300 usd with the card, giving 60 usd in cash to the girl who served us. in June (dining there at the end of April, payment passed in May and I saw it on the card e/c in early June!) I found myself charged 360 usd (300 for dinner and another 60 tip: so they took 120 usd tip!) I wrote asking for an explanation, but no answer... draw your conclusions...

Celebrated my sister 50th birthday here. The food was fantastic, staff very attentive, and the views spectacular. We arrived at 5:30pm had drinks and went to our table. The sun was just starting to set by the time we had finished and it was beautiful. The only down side was the price, but if you take into account you are revolving 48 floors above Time Square in New York, you can understand why it's that price. I would certainly recommend for an experience you won't forget.

This restaurant was at the top of our list when traveling to New York City for the first time. The staff was very friendly and gave us directions how to get there without a problem. The restaurant is up top of the hotel and you have take the elevators and they specifically say “The View” that comes out at your destination which is pretty cool. The food is delicious and it’s a buffet style establishment so you pay the price of $42 and not including the drinks you recieve which is seprate. The full rotation of the restaurant takes one hour and a half to see all of New York. Very romantic dinner for you and your partner or can be for your family too.

Highly recommend this venue for dinner on the 48th floor with great views of the city. Full rotation takes approximately 2 hours

This restaurant is the absolute perfect place to visit for any occasion. First off, the food is stunning. You get a delicious three course meal. I ordered the crab cake as an appetizer, it was the best I’ve ever had. Second, I had the fillet and again one of the best I’ve ever had. Finally for dessert I had the chocolate cake and New York cheesecake. Again it was some of the best I’ve ever had. But is this doesn’t sound good enough the views are stunning. You can easily see all of New York City and you rotate in a full circle about two times. I reckoned if you are coming for dinner to arrive at 5:45. This restaurant is one of the best I have ever been to and I’m sure I’ll be back.

My husband, daughter and I visited New York from Canada in November. We thought we'd splurge one night and eat in the revolving restaurant. We knew it was going to be expensive...$93 apiece but we went with great anticipation. That got you a 3 course meal. It started off well, got a nice table by the window. My husband ordered the lamb, it was not prepared to his liking, and he did not enjoy it. Antonio our server offered to bring him another meal which was a nice gesture, but he was half done by the time he came around so we didn't do that. My daughter ordered salmon and it was overcooked. I told them they both should have ordered steak as it was very good and we knew it was going to be an expensive night for us. I ended up sharing a portion of my steak with my husband and my daughter. I was disappointed because I talked them into going and it was a let-down for the money. Antonio brought us a complimentary glass of champagne as he knew we were not satisfied. That helped, but then we were quite surprised when he showed up with the bill and had already added his tip. We always leave a good tip and we thought that was very presumptuous...I have never seen this before, but New York is unique that is for sure. All in all it was okay but not worth the money and did not meet our expectations. It was the only thing we did in 5 days that really left us on a sour note. I would not recommend.

We got reservations for right around sunset and the view was stunning! Love how the restaurant slowly rotates and the pianist was an added bonus. My husband enjoyed steak and mashed potatoes. He said the steak had a little more fat than he is used to but it was well seasoned. He loved the mashed potatoes! I went with the crab cake and a caesar salad- delicious! The crab cake was very meaty- delicious! I forgot to ask them to put half the cheese on the salad because I’d seen reviews noting the huge amount of cheese. For dessert we enjoyed cheesecake. I’m glad we split it because we were full!

We booked a table for 8pm and had a text confirmation our table was ready and to responded to it to say we were on our way. Upon arrival we were met with a smile and told our table wasn’t ready. We went to sit at the bar $24 for a large glass of red wine and $9 for a beer, the waitress was courteous and friendly. But that’s where the praise for the staff ends. The food is $92 for the fixed three course menu. Our table was ready at 8.30pm we were left sat at the table with menus for a further 15 mins before the “waitress” took our drinks order. The wine was opened and then she arrive at 8.55 to take our order. The starters arrived at 9.15pm. The starters were cold. I ordered surf and turf and the lobster was overcooked and lacked any taste, the only serving grace was the filet mignon which was delicious. We had no room for dessert so asked to take this away and asked for the bill as the time was now 11pm. The bill arrived and the waitress who had done nothing out of the ordinary added a $55 tip into it for herself! I didn’t pay this and she came over to our table with a face on and asked why so I explained I didn’t feel her service warranted the $55 and that’s how I felt. Steer clear

I have visited NYC several times pre covid and always came here on my first night, the views are magnificent and the atmosphere was lovely. This has been my first visit since covid and I was amazed to hear the restaurant has just reopened in Feb 2025, the service was good and the view was great however we were overcharged and it has taken almost a week and several visits to get this matter resolved. On this basis I will not be back and I would advise against cash tips

I found this restaurant panoramic very good. For dinner necessarily very nice view. I found the dishes good, even with a French waiter!

Debbie & I dined here before a Broadway show 4 nights ago. Please not this was at the restaurant and not the buffet. However we did sit there by mistake initially and to be fair that also look really good. Just a smidge busier than the restaurant... The Restaurant. This is really really really simple. The service and attention to detail from the front of house to the waiter, to the chap even filling up your water glass is just incredible. I'm no snob by any stretch and the most my wife & I take note of is the politeness of ourselves and those around us. These guys are a different level. When you then add to that the food and the presentation is simply out of this world the you have the perfect place to eat. Seriously its that good. Well to put it into perspective, we tried to get table last night before Moulin Rouge but couldnt get a time to suit, however the best news is we have one on the 2nd before we see Chicago!!!! Yay,........ You simply have to eat here Debbie & I thank you all at The View......

Spectacular view atop the Marriott Marquis...makes the 360 degree rotation in 65 minutes. 3 course fixed price menu. We enjoyed the lamb chops and steak dinners. The cauliflower with cheese side was very good. The service was a little slow at times-but it was pretheater!

We ate here last year for Thanksgiving and it was close to perfect. This year was very different. The broccoli was cold and sides were mostly starches. I had to ask server for a refill on tea after a long wait for her to do so. There was no ice left and she offered no more. There were no dessert plates at dessert bar. I don't eat turkey but my husband said it was really salty. Any one of these might have been OK but for over $100 meal, I expected better and not the accumulation of issues. We come every year for Thanksgiving but not sure I'll take a chance at The View again.

Lovely views of NYC and great drinks, but I left feeling disappointed by the service. Me and two other companions came here on Saturday during our visit from the UK. It does take a while to get service. I was told to hand over my credit card and a charge for a round of drinks was made. I enquired about this as I’d prefer to pay in cash. However, I was told this was just a ‘hold charge’ and would be put back onto my account. Anyway, we left and paid our full bill in cash, yet this hold charge is still appearing on my card and the bank has confirmed that it’s been taken from my account. Terrible service as I don’t appreciate being lied to, and I’m now seeking for this to be put right by The View!

Nice view and unique experience but the abysmal service and the average food do NOT reflect the extortionate prices. The waiters just seem to want to get rid of you, and I've honestly had better salmon from a budget supermarket. Was asked to write a review on Google and it was REMOVED. Very disappointing. Spend your money elsewhere.

Most of the service is really nice but you should be aware of the strange seating policies... for the rude and unfriendly lady at the reception these are obviously more important then getting guests seated and drinking.. The bar has a great view for sure, the cocktails are good but expensive. all in all a not so pleasant experience.. customer first seems to be unknown... if we wouldn’t have wanted to spoil our last evening, we would have left!

$144 for 7 beers and an appetiser!!! Cover charge is a joke, not visible on entry, only after the server delivered our drinks did she mention it was $8.00 per person, when challenged her superior was rude to the point of threatening security should we not pay the charge. The view is poor as you are consistently obscured by other buildings, there are plenty of other great bars in NYC at better buildings on much higher floors that give you better views than this! I would avoid at all costs!

Unbelievable view, very reasonable prices and superb location. An absolute must if visiting New York.

We visited here recently and had a fabulous meal. The revolving restaurant was a plus and offered some amazing views. The cocktails were very nice and we went through about 4 of them. Our party ordered the chicken, pork porterhouse and the 18oz steak. Meat was very well seasoned and cooked perfectly. Service was excellent, they were very attentive without being in your face. Desserts we had the chocolate cake, cherry sundae and the cheesecake. Loved it.

We had dinner here with a group of about 30 people so there was a limited menu. The food was very good. My husband and I both had sea bass which was delicious. The people who organized the dinner also pre ordered a fig salad which was very good, and mushroom pasta and strawberry cheesecake which were okay. The servers were very accommodating and changed the wine selection when we weren’t happy with the original one. The restaurant rotates so you can view the city. A nice experience but I wouldn’t rush back.

Unfortunately, it no longer works. Last night we went and found out that it stopped working in the pandemic. We do not know the reasons. The security people are the ones who must report the non-functioning...

The View is the city's only revolving restaurant and it has been 13 years since we have been back. Food is still great, service solid, and to see the entire city view within an hour is an experience. Very dimly lit for ambiance and that is a little distracting but probably necessary to keep the glare off the windows while gazing outside. Overall, highly recommend this unique Times Square experience.

My husband, John Mason Morris and I have been to this restaurant with a group of 6 or more on two separate occasions. The food and service were consistent each time. We decided to go as a couple and once again from securing our reservation with General Manager, Bryan arrival to departure everything was performed with outstanding service and hospitality. Yacuba our server from Burkina Faso had a large party and a few other tables and never once did we feel neglected. We ordered a bottle of sparkling water he offered us bread with olive oil and butter. When we requested salt & pepper, I could actually see Yacuba grinding both into separate dishes before presenting them to our table. When he wasn't available Camila checked in on us. The attention to detail by each staff member was intentional and apparent. I ordered a bottle of Italian red wine with the assistance of Sommelier, Albert who graciously made my husband a top shelf Long Island Iced Tea cocktail. I ordered the Poached Salmon with a Farro Risotto it was unbelievably delicious; John ordered the Prime Rib. Dessert for me Peaches and Cream and John ordered the New York Cheesecake. This dinner couldn't have been better, but it became even more special when a few of the staff we met stopped by our table to greet us; Onika & Kervin. I'd be remiss if I didn't mention Assistant General Manager Morgan who is a delight. We will return soon. Thanks again for creating such a beautiful memory for us. I remain, Michael Morris Mason.

The View restaurant was amazing. The service always top notch there always making sure your happy with meal, drinks etc.

Lovely bar and restaurant with amazing views of the city by night. It takes approx 1 hour to do a full revolution. You can have a meal but we just had cocktails which were gorgeous. The food stations looked very tasty. Our waitress was very friendly and kept giving us information about what we were looking at. Definitely worth a visit! Does not open until 4.30pm.

Where better to celebrate a landmark birthday, than eating awesome food, while overlooking the iconic sights of New York as you do so. Warm welcome, great service, fantastic meal, in a slowly revolving restaurant that takes you on a journey around this wonderful city. It’s located at the Marriott Hotel in 46th street between 8th and 7th Avenue, so right in the heart of downtown. For the sheer experience it has to be done. You won’t be disappointed.

We were in NYC a couple of weeks ago to take in a couple of Broadway shows and to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. We made a reservation at The View for supper. I must say I was pleasantly surprised. They have a menu with quite a variety of dishes which in the end all cost the same. We both had lobsters bisque, surf and turf with asparagus. Oh my goodness!! So very very tasty. For dessert, I had a strawberry cheesecake. So so yummy. The service was excellent in the beginning of the meal. After we were done with our meal, we had to wait a fair bit before we received our bill. Despite that, I will still go to the View for their most wonderful meal

Lucky us were staying at the Marriott and could just get on the elevator to end our evenings in NYC at this lovely lounge. Great cocktails, the view was spectacular, amazing NY cheesecake and chocolate cake. Absolutely loved it!

Visited with Friends one evening to escape the bad weather. This is a cosy bar with great views across Times Square and the surrounding areas. There is a cover charge if you visit after 8pm, but the waitress very kindly waivered the fee as we stayed less than 30mins but TBH I didn't mind the fee as the views were good

We made a reservation online and when we got there we were surprised because the buffet menu could not be reserved, only the 5 courses plan. We asked for a change and the staff nicely did it for us. When we sat we were asked if we wanted to charge it to the room (since we were staying at the Marriott Marquis), we said we preferred to pay instead. The waitress asked for a credit card for safety, so he could open a tab for us, and at the end of the dinner we could choose how to pay (credit, debit or cash). We were gonna pay separately, but to our surprise when we asked for the check, the waitress told us he already charged everything to the credit card, including a 20% tip. We never agreed on this. We thought the credit card thing was just a standard procedure and that we would be able to pay however we decided when we were done eating. I think the waitress took advantage of this situation and gave himself the 20% tip without asking any of us. I left very upset and would definitely not recommend this place. The buffet had no variety and you couldn’t even get up your table to go see the view cause it was “forbidden”.

I went to visit the state empire building which is huge, 102 feet high but also the statue of liberty, I also spent a day at central park which is a very large park my enormously more and I I finished by visiting a museum called museum of modern art In New York I could stop in many restaurants to be able to eat pizza, fries, I eat the best hot dogs in the world. I ate in the largest fast food in the United States.i drunk a good soda and exelente coktail in new york I would like to be able to visit even more buildings or monuments, take a parachute jump, meet celebrities. being able to find a job in new york will allow me to be able to live there and therefore to live in a great location

Incredible service, delicious meal, stunning views! Can’t praise this restaurant enough. One of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had. Our server, Leah, also was outstanding!

Went there for the sunset and was disappointed by the waiting staff. Very rude and impolite just giving you the feeling they want you to leave. Place have potential but I won't recommend it to my friends.

View is the rotating lounge at the top of the Marriott Marquis and as you might expect the view is really great. It offers a full bar, excellent service, and a decent buffet. We visited it twice during our stay for two different business events, one of which took over the entire place: there may be a large business event there when you visit that will take over part of the area. I probably wouldn't make a special effort to come here, but if you're staying in this hotel the View is definitely worth a visit.

The drinks list in general is dated and dull. Cocktails were run of the mill and not well executed. A real shame as the venue has excellent potential!

Staff is super friendly. And the food is great. I totally enjoyed it. Only one draw back is the height could be a little higher up to see more of the city but absolutely great

Our reservation was for 9:30. I recd a text at 9:20 saying that I was late for my 9pm reservation and they were about to cancel it. We ordered crab cakes as appetizer and never recd it. We ordered mayo with burger but it was not with the burger when food arrived and had to ask for it. Service was not great but the view, atmosphere and food were excellent. It was fun to eat at the revolving restaurant despite the poor service.

The experience of a rotating restaurant was amazing! The views are not breath taking but fun to see. A bit pricey for taking kids. No kid friendly food options/ portions.

This is more for the uninitiated, as we were. This is not a no frills meal, or an inexpensive meal. It is 100% worth it, the food is immense, the view totally unique, especially if you go around sunset, however the most enjoyable aspect was the attentive and customer centric interactions with the hosts. In our case Albert and Camilla, the introductions professional and individual, on going attentiveness was never in short supply and our glasses were never empty and even an unrequested surprise cake for our sons 16th when we mentioned it in passing. Amazing dining experience in no small part enhanced by a great service team.

My family and I chose The View for our farewell dinner on our last night in New York City. It was a very special moment for us: it was my first time in NYC, and my grandmother — who had visited the city before — always said this was the most memorable restaurant she had ever been to. Because of that, our expectations were naturally very high. The restaurant is undeniably beautiful, the atmosphere is unique, and the food was very good — well-prepared, flavorful and aligned with what you would expect from a place like this. I also want to highlight three wonderful staff members: the two people at the coat check, who were extremely polite and kind, and the gentleman who served our wine, who was warm, cheerful and attentive. They truly elevated our experience. That said, the overall service unfortunately impacted the evening in a negative way. With the exception of the people mentioned above, nearly every staff member we interacted with — from the hosts on the third floor to the team welcoming guests upstairs and both of the servers who attended our table — was noticeably rushed, cold, and at times borderline rude. It consistently felt like we were being pushed and hurried, as if asking a simple question or expecting basic courtesy was an inconvenience. At some points, we even had the impression that the unfriendly attitude was intentional, perhaps meant to convey a “fancy” or exclusive atmosphere, which felt out of place. We visited several restaurants in NYC, including Michelin-starred ones, and none had service even remotely like this. Another disappointment was that only one hour before our dinner we were informed that the restaurant would not rotate that night due to a technical issue. Since it was our last night in the city, the offered alternative — rescheduling for another day — wasn’t a real option for us. Still, no compensation or alternative gesture was offered, which made the situation even more frustrating. Overall, we had good moments thanks to the view, the ambiance, and the quality of the food. But the experience fell short of what The View promises — and what its pricing suggests — mainly because of the inconsistent and unfriendly service. I’m sharing this feedback sincerely, hoping it helps the restaurant improve, because the potential is truly remarkable.

My only time in New York! Took the family out for drinks, and to see flys on the buffet, and the staffs attitude was disgusting! Ruined my night would not return

The service was amazing , the staff was very friendly, the food was DELICIOUS! And of course the view was SPECTACULAR! Definitely recommend anyone who’s in nyc to go to this restaurant.

But serving such meal could be better definitely...or less expensive... (thief like in Milan) It worths a visit anyway

Arrived late in New York so decided to try the Hotel restaurant , which we RARELY do and were very pleasantly surprised. The service was attentive and unusually friendly for New York The rotating restaurant provided gorgeous views of New York Rather expensive but worth it for the food, ambience and service

I cannot recommend this place enough. The 3 course set meal was beautiful. Service was fabulous and the views were lovely

After reading some of the mixed reviews we were a little anxious as we were celebrating our wedding earlier in the day. We shouldn’t have been worried- the service was very good , with staff friendly and attentive. It was more money than what we normally spend but definitely worth it. The food was good and the changing views were amazing. We checked sunset times do we watched the daytime sky change to night time.

So disappointing. With the location and views, it has a lot of potential. The food just isn’t good. A $96 base price gets your “3 course meal” and there are add on fees for various options. I’d have no problem with the price for a good meal (not even asking for great!). First, how can you even begin to serve farmed fish for $96? The crab cake was cold, and inedible. The main course (filet) was barely ok. Service was OK, but you’d probably find better service at your neighborhood Chik Fil A. Definitely too many good choices for food in NY to ever return to this.

Celebrated my husband's birthday here. Located on the 48th floor. The rotating view of the NYC skyline is quite interesting (equipment on Marriott's roof does intrude on the experience). There were three buffets with excellent choices and would highly recommend that you take a trip around the restaurant before you start. All choices high quality with much variety. One revolution is ~1 hour and 10 minutes. I would return for this experience!

We are not buffet people at all, but I have always wanted to eat at The View due to the view (lol). Well the view didn’t disappoint, however I’m not sure if it’s as impressive if you don’t have a window seat. We went for breakfast and the food was amazing. I was definitely greedy and had 3 plates and my fiancé cleaned his plate. We enjoyed our food so much! The decor could use some updating however it wasn’t a deal breaker for me. We chose breakfast because the dinner menu didn’t impress us and I’m glad we did. I’ll definitely be going again.

Fantastic rotating restaurant in the middle of New York. Our party of three had the set menu and the food was superb. A cocktail each and a shared bottle of wine, including the all important gratuity and we got minimal change from $500 but we thought it was worth it, it was our special treat/ dress up night in the big apple. The service was great and Brian was extremely helpful in providing tips for our visit. Would definitely recommend this venue but start saving 🥰

We went to The View for, you guessed it, the stunning view of Manhattan as the restaurant revolved atop the Marriott Marquis Hotel. What we didn't expect was that the food would be so good. I mean, so good! This revolving restaurant has been closed for five years since covid and recently reopened, so we wanted to try it before we went to the theater. We had to get on the "Notify" list for a Saturday night, and we were indeed notified that there was a cancellation, and we snapped it up for about 5:30 pm. We had Broadway tix at 8 pm, so it turned out to be perfect: sun moving toward sunset, and the restaurant making a complete revolution in just over an hour. Every seat seems about perfect for the view -- one of the fun spots is watching the people on The Edge. But the big surprise was the food in such an obvious tourist place. We absolutely loved the Snake River Farmers Picanha, a steak with a nice fat cap that kept the perfectly cooked medium rare meat delightfully moist. We also shared beef tartare (really fine), fried artichokes (hard to find these) and a hearts of palm salad. All just so tasty. For dessert we made room for the New York Cheesecake with raspberry sauce, because it actually said it came with vanilla "schlag," which is German for whipped cream, so we knew it had to be good (some NY cheesecake is really awful, sorry). Oh, and don't ignore the homemade breadsticks that come with your drink. They were so wonderful I asked our server if he could sneak me some to take home. The service was friendly and professional, and the vibe was celebratory -- everybody was there to have a fun time, maybe even for a special reason. Please keep this chef, because this place really has it all together.

We came for a drink. Has heard alot of this place so had quite high expectations. Got a bit dissapointed about the wiew not as spectacular as the one at bar 65. Then when We ordered our drinks the Waiter Said that they took an additional cover charge 8$ per person!!! If you plan to visit just one roofbar in NY choose another!

Throughout the dinner, there was great service and delicious food. Unfortunately, when it came to payment, things went downhill. There was no service, and everything had to go so quickly that we hardly got a word in or had the chance to say that none of us had a birthday, even though they served cake with candles and a birthday sign. My husband was in the restroom, and they couldn't even wait for him to return to pay. The whole evening was great, but it unfortunately ended on a bad…

One of my worst meal ever! And the whole for 240$ for three. At that stage of mediocrity, it is pure theft. Beginning with a whisky sour that turned to be a too sweet lemon juice, where was the Bouebon? When I told the waitress, she simply turned her back witout even an answer. The food is simply non edible. One may wonder in what school do they learn to cook simple things so terribly bad? The climax beeing the deserts. I've travelled a lot in my life, never seen something so disgusting. And regarding the famous view: this must have been amazing at the time they built the building. Inbetween, other higher buildings have risen in the neiggbouhood so what's really left is only a nice view on the Hudson. Not sufficient to make forget this culinary tragedy. Just to be avoided.

In New York for weekend before heading to Mexico for our honeymoon, and thought this would be a special treat. Food was just ok and very overpriced, although for new York it's not too surprising. As you're in a circular room inside a square building your views aren't as good as you may think, especially at night time when reflecting lights are very noticable. After a couple of days up the empire state and rockerfella etc maybe the initial wow of height was diminished. As I said food was just ok, wine hugely overpriced, but service was excellent. Waiter named Louis, from Ecuador, served us and was very good. Made the night for us. Would I return? No. Would I recomend? Probably not. Although if you have $300 you want to get rid of for mediocre meal and a bottle of wine, maybe this is the place for you.

I asked the server thirty minutes ago to take a picture of me and my friends and she’s been ignoring me for thirty minutes straight. Honestly, rudest server ever. Wouldn’t come back even if the cocktail was free.

It was all our wish to dine in the VIEW restaurant and Broadway shows while we visit in New york. We all love food and service during our visit on January first week. The view is outstanding. Beautiful sunset and wonderful cocktail. Excellent time with friends and family.

The View has to be the most appropriately named restaurant in the whole of New York 'WOW'!....We enjoyed 360° views of the New York skyline, seated at our table. Food was impeccable (would definitely recommend trying the 'surf & turf) and considering the quality and location reasonably priced. We found all the staff warm and welcoming, and would like to thank Ray In particular for looking after us. A real dining experience, we eagerly await our next visit.

Amazing cocktail bar - worth a special visit for the view alone. Staff very welcoming & nothing is too much trouble for them - from the security in the lobby to the welcoming receptionists & managers and ofcourse the waiting staff. As recently staying at the Marriott Marquis - decided to have cocktails at the end of every day....highly recommend the Expresso Martinis....but beware they do ‘pack a punch’ Came here many years ago & it’s was still as memorable - if not better than before.

A great place to have a view over the city! You'll enjoy a 360° restaurant with a great view. The View is amazing, the drinks a great, the staff is a bit rude... If you're going during the buffet, it's not really welcoming as it's presented... I would recommend to go for a drink!

The rotating view was spectacular. While dining on some good food, we were able to enjoy the New York Skylines. The service was great and the food was good. The waiter recommended the top of the view cocktail and it was delicious. The shareable sides were not too impressive but were just ok tasting. I would definitely recommend, especially for the experience of a spectacular view of Times Square.

Unforgettable experience in a suggestive place. I remember it with much Nice to meet you. The expensive restaurant but at the lounge you can do dessert tasting or L aperitif at a reasonable price. Recommendation to go at sunset to get a nice view from the turntable

As the venue says it’s for the view and the view us amazing. The food is pretty good we have been a party of 9 pax, most had steaks. My friend ordered medium but it was pretty well done...I had the rack of lamb medium and it was done at perfection. Only thing I miss at this place is the cosines there is very little decoration on the tables or between the tables... as well the service staff is little to familiar with the guest!

The restaurant has a fabulous location and the unique advantage of being a revolving restaurant in the middle of Times Square! Great views over the river and the Manhattan skyline. Had the buffet one evening - which was quite decent - but could be better! The place needs to up the lux-quotient for the opportunity that it is. All in all a good experience!

The food is wildly overpriced for what it is. We liked the cocktails, French fries, and fried artichokes, but found the rest of our meal mediocre at best. Tasteless swordfish. Burger not as good as Shake Shack. Service inattentive and sparse. The hotel's lobby has been Vegas'd out for Stranger Things, making it easier to go to Connecticut for pizza than find this place, which involves an escalator, an elevator, and a staircase. Go for drinks and fried apps.

First time in New York so were really pleased that a friend had told us to book here for dinner. After being on holiday in Canada it was quite a shock to visit New York for the first time, so busy! So it was really nice for us to just chill out for the evening, have a drink, watch the view and have dinner. The service was excellent, staff really helpful, we were not rushed at all. We loved the views, it is great to be moving round gradually, you really do get an excellent view of New York. At night it also looks so pretty. To reach the restaurant you need to get a lift inside the actual hotel, which is a trip on its own, fab views of the hotel going up and the gym, it is a really cool ride up and down. Food was excellent, beautiful presented, steaks were perfect, and as it was our anniversary they gave us a beautiful anniversary cake, such a lovely touch. It was really a night to remember.

We went as a family and the food was very good. It is pricey for a normal John Doe but all relative. You are paying for the name, reputation, location, customer service food and experience. The food was very good but not excellent the service was excellent the experience excellent the views spectacular. I understand the comments about the service charge but if you know NY you will make a decision before you go in. We had 7 days in NY and this was one of the highlights

I read Danny Meyer's book emphaiszing "hospitality," but little evidence of that at his latest. The experience was corporate, except for the many tourists in attire they would wear for Saturday grocery shopping. The din that sounded amplified was explained as a factor of the round room. If they know that -- why haven't they installed sound dampeners? I expected an elegant subdued atmosphere, because of the special rotating room and the prices. No. The server didn't know that women should give their order first and receive their drinks and dinner first. We didn't receive our entree until 90 minutes after being seated. She didn't keep us appraised of the delay, was not attentive. Lack of vegetarian options. Old fashioned steak house menu. Heavy plain white dishware , cheap, like at a fast food joint. Mostly, no view except nearby office windows. And coming and going we had to fight our way through throngs of Times Sq tourists. So disappointing for our special occasion dinner.

Last night me and my partner had steak for our dinner and we both said that the chef cooked it to perfection and the meat was super delicious and tender. The sides and dessert were also delicious and the mash to die for. Our waitress was also lovely she was very attentive and made us feel very welcome. She was French and I think her name was Katie, she was excellent! ⭐️

Great food on the set menu and nice experience . We pre booked as didn’t want to not get in. The views were stunning and the staff very attentive. Good

We were fortunate enough to pop in and get a window seat table immediately (we attended at the start of the Coronavirus pandemic). View was amazing, and the revolving bar is a novelty. However, it cannot be overlooked that this circular bar is set inside a square building and therefore there are obstructions to the view. Still, it was a fun way to spot all the landmark buildings and the napkins printed with the skyline help to identify them. The only downside was this hour long experience was very pricey. There is a cover charge of $8 pp for non residents, for the sheer privilege of being admitted. We had 2 drinks each (just the two of us) and with tax and customary tip, our bill was just shy of $150. Nice for a one off experience.

My second visit, which i was very much looking forward to, i’d told my family how great it was and how brilliant it had been when i went with my wife so the four of us arrived for our pre-booked (months ahead!) window table, to be told the table was in the center... ok, we’ll forgive you... but this was just the start of an evening of terrible service. Our mains came to the table whilst our finished starter plates were still in front of us, after our first drinks the waiters were nowhere to be seen for more drinks orders so when the mains came we decided to order a bottle of champagne, which we poured ourselves each time... as they cleared the mains, the waiter dropped dirty cutlery in my grandmothers lap, again we forgave them, mistakes happen after all, we are all human!! The starters and mains were actually very tasty and good food as you’d expect, but then the dessert came and it was ok... but not great... So we asked for the bill and after the shambles of the dinner we opted not to leave a tip, after all, you should earn a tip by delivering a great service... we were chased down the corridor and blocked from leaving and were told the tip is compulsory... they literally forced us to give them 25% tip before allowing us to leave!!! Thats over $150 tip from a table of 4 people! Disgusting!!!

In order to have a 360 degree view of NYC you are charged $96 for dinner. Had the meal been worthy of anything close to that charge, I would not have minded. How you ruin everything from lobster to steak to chicken is beyond me. And for the tip for a party of four, you would have thought the service would have beant over backwards but i felt like I was being honored just to be allowed to eat there.

We used the View Lounge to have some he cocktails around 6PM, there is an easy aces, the high speed elevator start at the 3 floor of the Marriott up to the roof of the hotel. due to some new buildings you don't have a complete view over the skyline but still its a nice impression. The cocktails are like they should be made, service is friendly and smooth, price is correct for this location, we didn't try out the buffet.

Getting up to The View is an unpromising experience. The entrance is shared with a theatre and gets very crowded, and first impressions on arrival at the restaurant desk are not good. However, bear with it and if you are lucky to get a window seat in a quiet area, the view can be properly enjoyed; despite some rather puzzling reviews, there IS a very good view, especially out towards the Hudson. The exorbitant prices stick in the craw though, and to justify them the food would have had to have been outstanding. The lobster bisque was indeed pretty special, but the steak was a little tough, and all the other courses were no more than above average. Service was excellent; the wine list was exotic and interesting: we loved a dense and rich Uruguayan tannat. But the bill was way over $300, and they really should do better for such a price.

This is a very glamorous restaurant. The views are incredible and matched by the cuisine. I had the filet mignon, which was the best I had ever tasted. We loved the shrimp cocktail and the chocolate cake. The restaurant revolves and the views never dissapoints. If you want to feel as though you are living in a movie, go all out and dine here!

The View will not disappoint. We went for drinks at sunset. I highly recommend it. We had a nice table by the window. We did not eat, so I can't comment on the food.

STAY AWAY LATE IN THE EVENING - We arrived after a show that was nearby around 11 PM. The Buffet was $42 a person and we still had to pay an eight dollar per person cover charge which I could understand if we didn’t eat - but since we were having dinner I had a bit of a problem with it. The buffet choices were cool at best and had obviously been sitting out for a while. I asked for fresh coffee with my dessert and my waitress said she couldn’t do it but wouldn’t charge me for the old coffee that she brought which I didn’t drink. The atmosphere and view are excellent but the service and food don’t measure up. The service is horrible. Maybe everyone just wanted to go home - but they shouldn’t accept additional customers and charge 5 Star Prices if they aren’t willing to provide commensurate service. In the end I ended up paying 160 bucks for cold food, horrible service, watered down drinks and old coffee. Stay away late in the evening. If zero was available for a rating, that is what they would receive from me.

It is worth it.... great dinner and spectacular views of NYC at 360 degrees in 1.45 h minutes.... to try for a unique emotion!!

My all time favourite restaurant! The food is ALWAYS great, the drinks are amazing and the staff is supernice. Location and view is perfect! Thank you for another great experience dining With you.

This place is special! We visited for Sunday Brunch for my mum's birthday! WOW! The selection of food is unbelievable! The staff are super friendly and helpful and really go above an beyond! The view is fab and I love the way you can see everything without moving (except for your next course!)

We arrived at 6.30pm which we found was the perfect time for the view as the sun was setting and the full 360 degree rotation of the restaurant took about 45mins ...it was just lovely watching the different views while the sun went down and we had dinner. Dinner was a set menu of 3 courses @ $92 pp. it was worth every penny,,,,the food was FANTASTIC and so was the service, plenty of choice also. I would definitely recommend this for a talking point dinner in NY.

I had this booked for me as a present for my birthday. The hotel is quite hard to find, give yourself time to find it. The lifts are confusing too, you choose which floor you want and it designates you a lift! You need to go to the 3rd floor then in to another lift to the restaurant. We arrived to be told there were no window seats so we could wait up to 30 minutes to see if one became available or take an inside seat, a bit disappointing as this had been booked a long time in advance but we did get a window seat eventually after about 20 minutes. The restaurant and the bar above revolve to show views around the city, it is within a square building so you have 2 layers of glass to the outside. For some reason I thought the restaurant was going to be external to the hotel building. The food we had was the best we had all week in New York with actual vegetables served with the meal for a change! I had the Salmon which was very tasty. My wife had a veggie option of tofu scallops. I was brought out a chocolate mousse birthday treat which was a nice touch too. The Polish waiter that studied in London was a very nice man and chatty(sorry didn't catch his name) the other waiter was a bit more serious but was still good. For a special treat I would recommend 'The View' but at nearly $100 each it should be!

Everything about our visit to The View was top notch and fantastic! The food and drinks were delicious and our server Michelle (303981) was such a sweet human being. My wife and I really enjoyed capping off our day with the friendly staff at The View NYC. A special shout out to the dining room manager, Sarah Mullen was such a welcoming person and we found out she was from central NY like us. She couldn't have been more friendly and nice. Thank you Sarah and Michelle for a memorable night in NYC! We hope to see you again! (Side comment, turn up the speed on the revolving restaurant!! 🙂) Thank you! The Lombardo's

Wow the views are stunning! This is a hidden gem the staff are lovely a beautiful classic Atmosphere and delicious food.

Went there based on ratings... Buffet is Okayish. Yet for $50 anyone can have nicer food in the City. Service was terrible or horrible should I say. Waiter didn't show up during 1 hour, not even to clear plates. We even finished desserts and plates were still on the table. Waiter came at the end asking for a $30+ tip. Crazy! Not the quality and service you expect at the Marriott Marquis!

When we arrived to take the elevator to the restaurant, the host was rude - giving orders to the 6 people waiting to go up. Our table was ready and we were seated promptly. When ordering my drink I tried to tell the waiter how I like it prepared and he argued with me - why not listen and try to accommodate? After bringing drinks (mine was terrible) he took our bread plates. When another waiter brought bread I asked him for bread plates and he just shrugged. The food was very good. The view was nice but for the money the servers should be trained to be gracious.

Absolutely horrible inexcusable service at every stage of experience Reception elevator staff no waiter showed up waiter didn’t come back no time for dessert almost missed theater Shocking that Danny Meyer is associated with this establishment

Food was good but eventually you get dizzy . By the revolving floor, be careful with the waiter explaining about the menu, as $92 three main course still will charge you some supplementary cost for have two meals in a surf and turf,,they explained surf and turf is two meal

My friend had been here in the 1980s and loved it and wanted to return. Recently reopened (Feb) the service was on point. Amazing venue and set out. Loved the pianist which added to the rich ambiance. Amazing food starters of which I’ve added pictures were amazing. The sauce with prawns with its fresh horseradish kick is something I will try to replicate. Great New York style burgers for main and physically had to share the cheesecake as so so full. While experience is worth the money. I can highly recommend.

I went with my 18 year old daughter for her birthday. It was expenseice and disappointing. Service was good but zero atmosphere and food was average at best! Really disappointed as this was supposed to be a special night on a special trip for her. We had a better time at the (food, atmosphere and service) at the hard rock cafe down the road! Mel was $515 plus $100 tip!!!

The View’s Sunday Brunch is a destination—a mobile dining experience in a category by itself. As the 47 story restaurant spins around panoramic views of Manhattan, one is spellbound by the vastness of the big apple. The food is a nice reward for the trip but make no mistake— the main menu is the view. Worth mentioning is the service...all the servers we talked to had over 20 years at the restaurant. When the coffee got cold they made it hot. They removed plates as soon as they were empty. They were cordial and engaging but not intrusive. The bill was expensive for brunch... but you know you are paying for the experience...not the food. Great for special occasions like ours, we were celebrating a birthday.

We just visited today to celebrate my parents’ 50th anniversary and couldn’t have been more impressed! The food selection was unbelievable and everything was so fresh and delicious. Service was impeccable and the atmosphere and view were beautiful (despite the rain). We had an amazing time and recommend it for any special occasion!

We had Isabel as our waitress at the bar and our table. She as excellent!! Very attentive and knowledgeable. Will definitely ask for her the next time we go!’

The view is a must if in new york. Both thd ala carte and the buffet are good. Great choice of cocktails. The views from both the bar and resturant are second to none. It is a little pricey but worth the little extra just for the views

Went to this location specifically for cocktails and to see New York at night and we were not disappointed on either. The price of the drinks were on a par to any cocktail bar you will find around the world but the view is quite exceptional. It is the only revolving bar in New York and our waiter said it takes approximately 60 mins to complete the full view. They served our drinks on napkins that showed where all the iconic buildings were which I thought was a nice touch and very helpful. I could not fault any of the staff and our waiter was particularly attentive with a lovely personality. A word of warning, to reach this location you take the hotels lift which, if you are not good with heights keep looking at the lift doors!!

Amazing - menu and naturally the view. Danny Meyer does it again. Personally acknowledged by name by many of the staff. Enjoyed delicious swordfish steak perfectly prepared, moist with interesting garnish of beans. Requested modification for health orientation was accommodated. Cheesecake light and superb. (Their breadsticks - WOW). Max, server, offered excellent service as well as wine suggestions. Brian, matrie’d made for perfect evening. 6:30 reservation and it was pretty loud with lots of activity. Shortly before 8pm theater crowd had departed and you were able to enjoy the surroundings and dining experiences. Cloudy evening but so neat to city lights glowing as evening turned to night. Bit of challenge to get to 48th floor but all makes sense as you begin your challenge. Thanks and I’ll be returning.

Famous blondies sports bar. I decide I will go here with my father. Because my father is very impressed with their service

Very good food in a splendid setting. Pretty pricey but worth it. Don’t miss it! I generally don’t recommend price fixe menus but the choices were varied. Plenty of gluten free and dairy free options are available. If you don’t see it on the menu, just ask.

Visited here for a special birthday. The service was impeccable and the food couldn’t be faulted. The only slight criticism I have is that the main course has too many fish dishes. If you went in a lousy or wet day the view would be spoilt.havemaicourse

We went to the Le Petit Chef experience last night and we had an amazing time. It was fun and entertaining and the food was delicious! It was a four course meal with wine pairings. Here’s our thoughts about the food: First course - burrata is 9/10 for us. Burrata is very fresh as well as the tomatoes and berries. Caviar is al so very good. Took off a point because the caviar tasted a little lemony for us. Would have loved it with a hint of lemon but not too much lemon. Second course - lobster risotto is 9/10. The risotto was perfect. Lobster was veeery good. The cheese crisp - I could eat all day. Took off a point because again there was a heavy lemon taste somewhere in the dish. Main Entree - beef was 10/10. You don’t need a knife for the beef - it’s that tender! The mashed potato is super smooth. The juice is a little too rosemary-ey for us but it’s my personal taste. Dessert - was out of this world!! 10/100!!! Loved it and would come back for the dessert! We had Steven as our server and he was attentive and was on top of things. He made sure that pur experience is perfect. Antonio and Crystal are also wonderful. Both helped out during dinner and saw them both making sure that everyone’s needs are being met.

A revolving restaurant is kind of old school. This one sits atop the Marriott Marquis Hotel in Times Square and surely first opened in the 20th century. It was recently taken over by renowned restauranteur Danny Meyer's Union Square Hospitality Group, so I gave it a try. While the food was decent, the view was meh on a cloudy day. To get to the View, you are guided to a special elevator from the 3rd floor of the hotel. You are dropped off on the 48th floor, which is the Lounge, which serves small bites along with drinks. The restaurant is on the 47th floor, down another elevator or a staircase. The restaurant revolves quite slowly; it takes about 90 minutes for a full rotation. While you see the tops of many mid-town buildings, you don't see down to Times Square itself, nor did I see the Empire State or Chrysler buildings. I suppose sunset and/or evening lights would be more impressive. There is a live pianist. The menu is fairly traditional steakhouse fare. I started with the fried artichokes with garlic aioli, which were pretty good, albeit a bit greasy. Note the only "bread" you are given are a few cheesy breadsticks. My entree choice was the roast chicken with a warm green bean and bread salad and mustard jus. Tasty, but very messily plated. There were maybe 2 pieces of bread. For sides, I always get creamed spinach, which was fine, as were the potatoes au gratin. Dessert was a very good cherries jubilee sundae. Overall a decent dining experience.

The food was delicious from start to finish, coupled with a slowly changing skyline, made for a lovely evening.

The views are great from any seat in the house, and you pay for it. The food was really quite good but in my opinion didn't quite hit the mark for the price. Cleanliness: 5/5 Service: 3/5 Presentation: 4/5 Taste: 3/5 Atmosphere: 5/5/ Value: 3/5

My daughter booked this restaurant for our first night in New York. It was on Thanksgiving and my 70th birthday celebration. We were just so disappointed in this restaurant. She booked this whilst we were still in England. We had to pay up front o $266, which I thought was expensive anyway. When we arrived although we had booked we had to wait for about 15 minutes before we were seated. It was then we realised that this was a buffet help yourself, not being waited on. I think for this money there should have been a waitress service The food was not anything to write home about, it was cold and tastless.. My daughter was very upset because it was a special dinner for us. I said she ought to complain to the restaurant but she never did. I am very angry that she paid out that sort of money for the extremely poor food and services.

The restaurant has a fixed menu consisting of appetizer, mains and a dessert. They also have vegan and gluten free dishes. I had Chilled Maine Lobster for starter and it was okay. My Fillet Mignon was cooked to my liking - medium. Tasty and meat tender. Better to book in advance to secure a choice table. Service was okay but overly familiar, probably it’s their thing so no issue. Overall a good dining experience

I went up there twice in 2013 and 2016, and it’s great for the view and the fact that the bar rotates 360 degrees. But when I wanted to go back 5 days ago, the police officer stationed at the bottom of the elevators, in the Mariott Marquis hotel, told me that it was currently closed….perhaps under renovation… Damage !

Unforgettable 21st Birthday at The View We celebrated a friend’s 21st birthday at The View at the New York Marriott Marquis, and it was amazing! The staff—from the host downstairs to the manager upstairs—went above and beyond to accommodate our party of seven, even making special arrangements to secure our table. The rotating restaurant offers stunning 360-degree views of Times Square, and the atmosphere, with live music, made the evening feel truly special. The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The birthday chocolate cake was rich, moist, and the perfect ending to a memorable meal. Exceptional service, breathtaking views, and incredible food—The View is the perfect spot for any special occasion.

Great food with lovely service and to top it all off a fantastic view of New York. Highly recommend the Lobster. lovely Cocktails in a very classy place highly recommend to anyone visiting New York.

To be able to enjoy the view of New York while eating brunch is a fun experience. A bit expensive but we still wanted to try the revolving restaurant. Unfortunately we didn’t get a table by the window, but we still saw the view. Nice service and the food was very good.

Went here for a nice after dinner drink with a view, was not disappointed the 360 view takes in mostly the westside looking to the Hudson and eastward times square and alot of skyscrapers. There is an elegant and stylish atmosphere as the rotating bar slowly moves around so everyone gets to have the best seats in the house atleast once. The only thing to keep in mind is that it is expensive, drinks are pricey as you would expect being just off times square. However the real kicker is the $8 surcharge per person, however there are signs informing you of this and our waiter warned us before we ordered, so they don't try and hide it. Overall if your looking for drinks in style this is the place to go. There are other rooftop bars with equally nice views which are much cheaper (230 fifth and bar 65) but the rotating bar is a real novelty.

When we arrived, we were given the choice to wait for a window table which we did as wanted to get the best experience. It took around half an hour for a table to become available during which time we were sat in the bar area at a window table enjoying a drink. When our table was ready the pager, we had been given flashed to inform us, we were then shown to our table. The views were amazing, and the restaurant revolves constantly which we were not expecting so we got to enjoy the views from all angles. The waitress was very friendly and welcoming and the service she provided was spot on I honestly could not fault it. She asked if we wanted any more drinks while we were looking over the menu. Although the menu was a set menu there were some great choices. I decided to try the mushroom ravioli and my husband went for the crab cake and for our main courses we both opted for the fillet steak cooked medium. While the waitress was putting through our order, she brought us some Voss water and bread rolls with butter. It wasn’t long before our starters came out and the presentation was as you would expect, amazing. Both dishes were cooked well, full of flavor and we both really enjoyed them. It was a shirt wait for our main course which was nice as we didn’t feel rushed and was able to let our starters go down before eating our mains. The fillets steaks again were cooked to perfection, exactly as we had ordered and just melted in your mouth. The presentation was spot on and the portion sizes were more than enough. The tender stem broccoli that the steaks cam with was slightly salty than we would have liked but the rest of the dish was amazing. For our deserts we both chose the New York cheesecake as this is our favorite. Individual portions were brough out with again amazing presentation as you can see from my pictures. The waitress had asked us during the evening if we was there for a special occasion which we was, not the usually what you get asked so I thought this was nice of her to take the time to enquire, she was really chatty and made it clear she loved her job and had worked here for many years. As we were enjoying our desserts the waitress brought over an additional pudding with happy anniversary on it. I thought this was just lovely and although we couldn’t manage it due to just having a three-course meal, she boxed it up for us to take away and enjoy later. To dine here is more than we would usually pay as it was around $270 including a service charge but honestly it was worth every penny. When you get exceptional service, high quality food and overall a very memorable experience, you don’t mind paying it. I would highly recommend this place and would certainly go back when I visit New York in the future.

The View Restaurant 47 floors above ground in the Marriott Marquis is now managed by Danny Meyer restaurant group. We had a delicious meal with views of New Your City in daylight and after dark as the restaurant makes a full turn every hour and 45 minutes. The new management has a nice variety of food choices , excellent service, and beautiful views! I highly recommend this adventure!

We just went up for a couple of cocktails before we went out on the town for dinner, the drinks were very tasty and prices were not outrageous comparatively speaking for what you get around town. Our waitress was very nice and attentive

Very overpriced . Not romantic, very noisy, wasting money. I don’t recommend, for children. I didn’t like it . I wanted to make a good suprise but it was not only overpriced, but noisy and everything

We had an amazing birthday dinner. The service was impeccable. The 360 turning was nothing we'd ever seen before. The food was amazing (the best steak my husband has ever had) and the special birthday touches made it even more memorable. It was a meal we will never forget. Thank you!

This is now my second time going to the View. Love the atmosphere. Food is amazing. Service was great. Will be back.

Great view, poor service, poor food and over priced! From being met at Level 3 the service was totally underwhelming with a makeshift cloakroom with very grumpy staff. When we got upstairs We chose to have a drink in the lounge first however it took 20mins to order and for the drinks to arrive …. We then had no time to drink them so we had to carry them downstairs to the restaurant (no-one offered to take them for us which I’d expect is a high end restaurant / hotel. Worst still we couldn’t add to the tab, we had to pay for the drinks there and then …… and it was daylight robbery with a Coke costing $14 each plus tax and tip (we bought 3 for our kids!!!) and there were no prices for soft drinks on the menu. I was disgusted at that!! We then went for our meal at 9.15 as booked but the service was awful. They took ages to take our order then after half an hour we had to ask for water (and twice for top ups later in the evening) which should be basic standard service. We waited over an hour for a few small slices of focaccia and over 1.5hr for our food. Not one apology or update at all. When the food came the chips were terrible - all burnt, dry and cold (how hard is it to cook chips?!?!) !! Admittedly the steak was delicious but two of us had the same meal and one cut of meat was half the size of the other - rather disappointing! The only real positive was the view ….. but that was a very expensive evening for awful service & awful food. I’d recommend you skip this experience when in NYC!!!

We visited with friend. Didn’t expect them to let us in as in trainers as been walking all day. We had the buffet. Not cheap $75 for buffet and cocktail (inc services and tax) but what you’d expect from large city and location with the views. Food was lovely, good choice. Revolving is weird to start but very nice.

Large table of business associates. Crab cake was delicious but organic fish and vegetables were not served hot. Service was not great. Desserts were all wonderful—got an assortment for the table. Would recommend the bar for drinks and appetizers instead of the all inclusive dinner.

We ate dinner at this restaurant to celebrate my wife’s 70th birthday and had a wonderful night. From the arrival greeting to the waitress service to the food and of course the view of the city...everything was excellent. We will definitely return the next time in NY.

Wonderful and unrushed evening amongst the beauty of the NYC skyline. The staff was very attentive and the pris fix meal was delicious. All 3 in our party ordered a different meal and none of us were dissapointed. From bread to dessert all was delicious. We wanted to do something special our last night in the city and this was perfect. We dressed nice casual and felt comfortable. Servers were very attentive and engaging and did not make us feel rushed. BTW,be aware that water comes in a glass bottle and you will be charged for it. We just figured it was all part of our delightful NYC finale dinner memory! WONDERFUL EVENING.

The view restaurant has a Buffett and a restaurant level. My boyfriend wanted to go to the Buffett for his birthday! We were seated and I asked to sit where it wasn’t so busy and loud. The atmosphere is truly like a cafeteria. We were seated. The food selections are basically chicken, fish, beef. The salad bar has some excellent choices although not enough. The beef dish was well prepared. The atmosphere as I said is not intimate, can be very loud. There was clearly no dress code. The restaurant revolves so once you sit down, you are literally moving. This allows you to view the city. I think that’s a nice touch. The View is frequented by tons of after show goers, hence the loud atmosphere. As a New Yorker, I would think This place would be awesome for lunch, to see the view. But for dinner maybe the restaurant below would have been a better choice.

Horrible and very expensive, between all 380 dollars per person. It's not worth it, everything is overrated. It no longer spins and it is not what it was. Do not go. I WENT because I couldn't find a place at the River Cafè, much better than this garbage. There it is worth paying

We went during restaurant week after a show for dinner. The lounge, where we started, was very nice and they brought the rest of our bottle of wine up to our seats at the restaurant afterwards. The food at the View was delicious and the views out the windows were great! Since it was restaurant week the value was exceptional!

One can not deny the incredible view, especially during the sunset. However, our experience was not worth the price at all! We felt rushed the entire time. We were not even done with our appetizers when our meal was already coming out. We can underhand if the restaurant was busy, but it was not at all. The appetizer and main entrees had hardly any taste at all. We could have bought a months worth of groceries for what we paid tonight. It would be much better to just go to the lounge and get a drink and still see and experience the same “view.” Definitely a one and done visit for us!

This is a revolving restaurant on the 48 floor of the large Marriott Marquis Hotel close to Times Square. A floor below there is a bar serving buffet food which in my opinion had more atmosphere .The main attraction is that the restaurant revolves providing different skyline views of the whole city as it turns. You need to keep your wits about you if you step off to go to the toilet as where you were seated will have moved by the time you return. Slightly eerie. We ate during restaurant week and chose the cheaper menu. The food and restricted menu were not great and our server not particularly helpful. Décor and seating looked to be rather dated and in need of a refurb. Another feature were the outside bullet lifts taking diners to the 48th floor in double quick time. An experience.

Visited this restaurant last night and what a disappointment!!! The food was mediocre and very expensive for what it was & then you charge $10 for a bottle of water which to me seemed extortionate. The service I received was fairly attentive but you could see the waiter/waitress had no interest in serving you they were just going through the motions! HOW I WISH I NEVER BOOKED THIS RESTAURANT!! In my opinion this restaurant survives because it’s the novelty of it being a revolving restaurant the view is ok but certainly not amazing! I will return to NYC but will not be returning to this restaurant and certainly not recommend it to anyone! Add insult to injury 18% service charge!!! REALLY!!!

While visiting from out of state, we went to The View for dinner before a show. It was Restaurant Week and our server only allowed us to order the Price Fixed special restaurant week menu, although we were handed the full menu. I am sure that was just not right. We did not want 3 courses, and needed to get out to our show. Service was very slow, some of went ahead a left the others to pay our bill and come running to the show. We did not eat our desserts, no time to eat, left them behind. We left plenty of time, we have been able to get to our shows from every other restaurant. We will not be back.

The three course fixed menu is $92 plus service charge plus tax so it wasn’t cheap. The choices were good and portion sizes big. The steak was enormous so all in all price not too bad for what you get. Can’t see much of a view if not by window when it is dark, would be better in the day.

The view itself is very good and the food really was lovely. Unfortunately what let it down for us was the staff, firstly the space is difficult to find and no one seems to want to help from the downstairs car parking attendant to the lobby receptionist. We had to ask multiple times for someone to serve our drinks, we had to pour our own wine, we had approximately 2 minutes to spare between every course and they forgot to bring my mums birthday cake out . Not what you expect when you are paying that much. Wouldnt go again and wouldnt reccomend, although food was lovely.

My wife and I were really excited to eat at the The View on our visit to NYC. The service, the venue and the views (ironically the view) were fantastic. We were served by a man named joe or Joseph who was great. Unfortunately due to the rotating restaurant I was unable to go ahead with the meal as it gave me motion sickness (which I have a problem with anyway). Despite this i would still highly recommend as what we had experienced and the food that we saw looked great

For a special birthday, my husband and I went to New York. We used an organization that had done a great job with our hotel and other things. Dinner at The View restaurant was the highlight. The experience was far less than that. Our server ignored us and eventually had another server complete our meal. She wasn’t on a break, but since we asked her for a picture, and were going to order wine with our main course, after forgetting us, she ignored us for a good 30 minutes. Then the food was mediocre. What a disappointment.

It’s all about the view - revolving restaurant with views of the city. Food at best was average. Fun place to visit and the cocktails were good.

i went to new york city and had a nice 13 days. the 14th however was ewwwwwwww. i ordered a chicken at this restraunt but they gave me some tory lettuce toast malarky. there was something floating ion my cuppa that had a tail but i did get 12 rolls of toilet paper so it gets a 2 star. after that i went to da hood and died. big L. craig david

It was newly renovated & I like the decor. The staff were very helpful & friendly. We were not ignored the waiter John kept us entertained. We went to the bar lounge section for drinks & the rotating rooftop bar. It rotates slowly but as you drink & notice you’ve spin around & on a different side of the restaurant. We’re actually going bk this weekend. I think it’s a great experience for tourists & family & friends from outta town. U can take them up to the rooftop bar & chill & relax. You’ll feel like ur on top of the world. It was fun! I recommend it!

The View was recommened by our concierge at our hotel for a romantic dinner following a Broadway show...We were very pleased with the service, food and ambience.––Close by was the Imprerial Theatre where we enjoyed "Ain't Too Proud To Beg" as well, so it was a great one-two punch! (In fact, you might want to do the same thing)...We opted for a matinee performance followed by an early dinner about the same time the sun went down.

A friend recommended we visited this bar and we were not disappointed the revolving bar was fabulous and my boys loved it (Unfortunately I felt a bit dizzy 🥴) We just went for a drink but the buffet looked great. Not cheap for drinks but worth having at least one drink here.

Service was good for Le Petit Chef pop up 'experience' at The Views Marriott Marquis, the view from the top floor is very nice, the food and wine were terrible, no redeeming factors at all. It is a set menu with no choice and wine pairing. The mini burger offered for the arrival cocktail was about the best of the entire meal. The starter of buratta, was dry and not creamy, the lobster risotto was downright awful and the lobster had a very strong taste, the main course of beef was another let down. Even the matcha chocolate desert was awful. The animation is interesting and fun for a bit, but that doesn't compensate nor justify a $500 price tag for 2 people, one who was underage so wasn't drinking. I didnt manage to finish one glass of wine, it was all resoundingly dreadful. Would not recommend.

Recent reopening with quality international cuisine.Excellent welcome. Subdued and musical atmosphere with breathtaking views!

While staying in this hotel we visited this restaurant for their dessert buffet to celebrate a birthday. The dessert buffet consisted of a chocolate fountain with a variety of things to dip. The strawberry quality was just okay, but I’m picky about that as we love dipped strawberries. There were also a variety of other desserts that included a few gluten free options. We were there about an hour and made a full rotation of the view. The waitress brought my husband a special dessert since we were celebrating him to make it extra special.
Terrible value for money... staff show no interest in good service.
Total bill very excessive for quality of food. $20 for 2 bottles of water is a rip off. Waiter couldn’t even poor a bottled beer properly and all staff acted like they didn’t want to be there. 18% service charged... no way.. This reservation was made months ago for a 21st birthday celebration. They made no effort apart from 1 candle in a desert. My 1st time in New York and certainly won’t be recommending or going to the View again.
