Cozy place

By Venkatesh D |

Friendly staff, it’s amidst a lot of choices of restaurants around. We did not mind the place at all, not sure we will make an effort to go back.

New Years Day

By Talal J |

Waking up on New Years' day there aren't a lot of options in the area, so we sort of had no choice but to go to The Wild Son...We certainly weren't disappointed! The place is quaint, the staff is very friendly, and the meals are both filling and tasty. Thumbs up all around!

Creative Menu, but Slow Kitchen!!

By JPDallas |

Nice and creative breakfast/brunch selections. We were the first ones in the restaurant about 10:10 am, and had to wait more than 20 minutes for our food. Had Grain & Egg Bowl and Lamb Omelette with Goat Cheese, and they were okay. Omelette was not soft or fluffy, and coffee was not hot. Tiny tables and uncomfortable chairs. Uncomfortable seating. Long walk from the nearest metro station; not worth the efforts!

Nice place - nice food

By Kim D |

Nice original place - small dinner menu but nice dishes, friendly waiting staff. Mostly locals, few tourists, nice ambiance.

Amazing place!

Went to Wild Son by chance but i will definitely come back every time I will be in NYC. The food is amazing, staff is really friendly and professional and the place it self has a very positive vibe!

Exceptional sandwiches and charming service

By JourneyFox |

Stopped for a spur of the moment lunch on a wet and windy August day after a trip to the Whitney. Very glad we did. The place was pleasantly busy (but not rammed) and we perched along the bar consuming fashionably trendy sandwiches and bespoke drinks. All extremely tasty and fresh. Particularly loved Grandma Anna and Good Morning Sunshine. Salads looked delicious too.

Great breakfast, relaxed setting

By Gregory F |

The Wild Son is set in the meat packing district of Manhattan, one block from the Whitney and close to the Highline. I ordered the Quinoa Bowl which included a perfectly cooked egg. The the coffee was good, not great. The service was very good. The Wild Som is busy, but no one rushed us to finish. We didn't dawdle but also felt as if we could stay as long as we wanted. I recommend the Wild Son. It may appear to be a bit rough around the edges, but then that's part of the charm.

tasty food - ok service

By emueller9 |

We had the egg sandwich and a chicken sandwich. The chicken was cold because they screwed up our order (the tables are over-packed, and they were having trouble keeping up).

Wildly good

Gorgeous fresh salads, great sandwiches, healthy drinks--with or without alcohol and a small but sweet atmosphere. Worth the wait.

Gem for Brunch in Meatpacking!

By TravelBear990 |

This place is such a gem in an area filled with crappy, overpriced, corporate chains like STK, Fig & Olive, etc. The brunch here is so good with great brunch cocktails (think green juice and mezcal). The food is fantastic with things like healthy grain bowls and salads that you can add egg and awesome protein too, like pulled bacon. There's also amazing sandwiches and a great hot sauce collection to pair with those sandwiches. Then there's the sweets like the waffles...so fantastic, definitely worth eating! I'll keep coming back for brunch. There might be a wait, but if there's only two of you the bar is a pretty solid spot to find a seat, get a drink, and have an awesome brunch before going on a high line wallk!

Inventive spot after the Highline or Whitney

I arrived here for happy hour with my vegetarian friend. The service was very friendly, and the menu inventive -- particularly the vegan options. I enjoyed the oyster specials. Everything was served well.

Deeeeliciuos breakfast!

By Mimi T |

L O V E T H I S P L A C E ! ! ! We stayed at the Standard (which was a flop) and was in search of a breakfast place we haven't been to. Yelp did not disappoint! We showed up around 10:30am and we were able to grab seats at the bar. Service was quick and friendly. We each ordered a juice. I got the New Morning Sandwich and my husband got the Good morning Sunshine. Both sandwiches were delicious but I liked mine for its crispy, chewy baguette. This is sort of a hidden gem as it is tucked away but it is super easy to get to via the High Line. I recommend the breakfast and I'll be back to try other meals.

Great food, cool atmosphere near the High Line

By mary m |

We found this place after checking out the High Line-- and had a wonderful time. We were lucky to grab the last two seats at the bar for brunch on a Saturday. The atmosphere was friendly, the music was really good and the food was excellent. I was even persuaded to give the beet-based Bloody Mary a try by the bartender (who I later learned was the owner). He was nice enough to give us a donut for 'dessert' on the house! A chocolate coconut creation that tastes like what would happen if the Samoa was a donut.. amazing! We also learned they're opening a second location soon, and I'll be sure to check that one out.

Cosy place with great food

By yannickd926 |

Friendly staff and delicious food (certainly the yoghurt fruit and honey bowl and the sandwich good morning) in a nice setting. Enjoyed the calm indie music as well.

Cozy Brunch Spot in Meatpacking

By jrr501 |

Wild Son is a cozy spot on a side street in Meatpacking. The place is small so don't be surprised if there is a wait during prime weekend brunch time. The menu has a nice selection and overall decor is inviting. Brunch standards, interesting salads and sandwiches are what I've had, but there is a separate dinner menu, as well. Cocktails looked fresh and it's a place I would come back to just to sit at the bar. However, service is the one thing that lacks. Food service at a table was attentive and kind. Food service at the bar was been aloof and cold.

Executing the Simple Very Well

By MajidiGirl |

After too much fine dining in New York, The Wild Son was a fabulous breathe of fresh air, with definitely more healthy calories. I had the crispy grain bowl - and added avocado to it. It was very well seasoned - though a tad too much pepper - but overall, was so yummy, I finished every last grain! My guest had the braised bacon sandwich, and that looked substantive and yummy. What a find this was in the West Village, away from the madding crowds of mid-town Manhattan, and nestled in the Meat Packing District. Perfect prelude for my walk from the start to the end of The High Line. Delighted to return. And kudos too to our lovely service staff, Pedro!

Tiny suprise in the meatpacking district

By Bert S C |

Want fresh, creative, lovely food and drink near the end of the High Line and the Whitney? Here you go. Good natured servers, top drawer cold brew coffee, tough-to-choose beverage list and meals perfect for sharing so that you don't have to decide on just one item.

Great great drinks and ambiance

By Jair C |

Stumbled upon this restaurant on the search for drinks and I wasn't disappointed. The friendly service staff made me a mezcal drink called one way to oaxaca. It made me feel I was actually there! I also ordered an extraordinary beef tartare which blew my mind away. Cant recommend this place in East Village enough!

GF!!!!!! And delicious

By thefoodchannel |

Small place. Simple but charming. And with extremely good food!! If you are celiac you must go there and try their glutenfree buckwheat pancakes!!! They were out of this world!!! Would love if they consider adding some extra glutenfree dishes to their menu ( avocado toast etc ). A bit pricey but the portions are really satisfying!!!!! Definitely coming back for more!!!

Great find near the High Line

By Bluzrif_12 |

We looked up best restaurants near the high line and this popped up. It didn’t disappoint. Fresh food. Neighborhood feel. Super friendly staff. Take a break from the hustle of midtown and Times Square. We got the egg and grain bowl/cauliflower sandwich and pancakes. All were delicious. You can’t go wrong

Super last dinner in NYC

By 181viaggiatore |

Before flying back home we spent our last afternoon in NYC walking through the high line. At the end of our walk we had our last dinner at Wild Son and we couldn't make a better choice: the atmosphere is great like people who manage and work at the restaurant. They all have been super nice and friendly welcoming us although the restaurant was fully booked. It is one of the best place in NYC! Thanks a lot!

What a find!

By Stacey B |

Order your favorite breakfast food without hesitation -- it's all great -- but make sure you get the burrata with berries to share.

Great place close to the Whitney

By cbroo |

This cute little restaurant is tucked away on Little West / 12th. Come off the end of the Highline, turn left past the last remaining meat packing shops and immediate left again and you will find it on your left. The service is super friendly and the breakfast selection is great - from pulled chicken sandwich to a super yummy yoghurt bowl with fruits and honey. Prices are fair and truly reasonable for NYC.

Good Choice

By Capta1n57 |

Have to admit that this was not our 1st choice when visiting the High Line.Bubby's was our preferred choice.Being such a cold day, outside seating was not an option, and inside was packed.U had read about Wild Son ,so we went there.Really nice place, small and cute Food and coffee were delicious.Servers could be a little more alert. Not easy to get attention.Would go again

Terrific spot for lunch.

By LSB |

Great lunch yesterday. The menu had many good selections. My wife and I enjoyed sharing a salad and hamburger. Both contained great ingredients and were very good. The service was especially friendly and helpful. The spicy margarita's were well made and it was hard not to order a second round. This restaurant has great karma, very good food and staff that is very inviting. Definitely a place that makes my "go to list" when in the meat packing district,

Lively, cozy, fun place to nosh near the Whitney

By Roland K |

If you are doing the High Line or the Whitney and you need a friendly drink or honest to goodness lunch, you couldn't do better than squeeze into "The Wild Son." Young professional clientele, small but great variety menu, quick and friendly service, and fun ambiance. We enjoyed the "Pernil Romero" sandwich - a spiced Cuban pulled pork on freshly baked bread. Full bar. Loved it!

Brunch after the Whitney

By Brit Tay |

Girls trip to New York and we wanted a fun place to eat and drink after our visit to the museum. This place was rated highly and right around the corner so it was perfect and didn't disappoint. We saw a line out front but not too worry the patron who was infront of us said, "the guy is good he'll find you a table in a few minutes." Sure enough the owner popped his head out the door, smiled and greeted us and soon we had a cozy spot by the kitchen. The atmosphere is lively and the breakfast appropriate alcoholic beverages are the perfect blend of juice and booze. The wild son who is the owner and the wait staff, all rolled up in one, could not have been more helpful and took down my honey allergy which turned out to be pretty significant as I avoided getting granola (honey as an ingredient) in my pancakes because of him. Thanks for the catch and for the excellent meal. It was the perfect end to our New York adventure.

A small place with a lot to offer

By Tudor N |

The food here is amazing, especially the pancakes. The guys from the bar make you forget of anything and it is impossible not to enjoy your time here. Make sure you make a reservation as it is full all the time.

Delicious Food and Authentic People

By CASDanVegas |

We heard about Wild Son while having dinner at another restaurant. It sounded so good, we were there by brunch the next day! The food is fantastic - best we had the entire weekend. Roasted potatoes and pulled bacon were both out of this world! The energy here is also wonderful...authentic bartender who told us this was now our home any time we came to NYC; awesome manager who connected with our story by sharing his own. Our experience here was a gift all the way around. Don't miss this place!

Refreshing Menu and a great Vibe! Try it!

By canter2u |

I went here with friends for brunch and we had variations on fruit, cereal yogurt and very yummy drinks and teas. Nice chatty place in the meat packing district near the Whitney Museum and all the fun of Chelsea! Definitely want to come back to try more of the menu!

A little gem

By GNL17 |

We stumbled across The Wild Son by accident. It was thoroughly charming - and I had the best cheeseburger I've had for years. Ideal spot before a walk along The High Line.

Great food and service

By tinaNtravel |

The food was great. We all ordered something different and all of us were happy with what we received. They have a good amount of outside dining and inside dining. The server was very friendly. We were not comfortable with the fact that he wasn’t wearing a mask, and we asked if he wouldn’t mind wearing one and he happily went to get a mask.

Wow - great place...

By aj_flyer |

Chelsea.. Hop on in for Happy hour drinks at this very cool location on West st. I happily recommend the Gimlet.. $9.. Hang around for dinner and have the Lamb Entree, pulled lamb, served with lettuce cups, pickled radish and this divine honey yoghurt, get in there with your hands and use the lettuce cups like wraps, heavenly! Dessert here are their own donuts, an interesting take on them, more dense, check on the night for flavours!!.. Wild Son has a cool vibe, in a great location near the Highline. The staff are friendly and courteous. It’s definitely a local hangout, every one was made to feel welcome when they walked in and were well looked after. I look forward to going back as they have a great breakfast too... Thanks Wild Son!

MY FAVORITE

By sonja j |

Good morning sunshine sandwich wishes you a really good morning, day or evning! Other sandwiches we tried (with slow cooked pork, chicken meat...) were all good and even more. Nice place, good service and above all, excelent breakfast or brunch. We will be back!!!

Great for late breakfast

By Dango_2009 |

This is a great place for a late breakfast. The sandwiches are great, also the salad, the yogurt bowl, everything we tried. The place is very small but the atmosphere is very pleasant and the service is super friendly and professional. We actually came back the next day again. Highly recommended!

Hipster happy hour

By Bee |

Loved this very cozy (small) place that looks like a hole in the wall from outside and in you are transported to a quaint interior with soft, dim lighting and neat music (a bit too loud). Happy hour had drink specials that were $3 off the regular menu and fried oyster tacos (oysters in a lettuce leaf) for $5 each and some app and entree specials (a slightly reduced price from regular menu). Had happy hour margarita ($9) which had smoked salt with some kind of chile powder - this was the real deal, no mix. Had the black fried rice ($15) which was just divine - served with a soft egg yolk on top. Also green salad ($12) which was more than enough to share. The bathroom was absolutely spotless which always impresses. One tiny misfire - a plate with a large chip should have been tossed. There's even a doorman here.....in a bowler hat. You feel like you might be stepping back in time as you enter through the curtains.

Find this place !

By FeedBob |

Dropped in for a lunch and I am a FAN! Awesome vibe, great service and INCREDIBLE food. You have to find this place if you’re in NYC. In the meat packing district. The pulled bacon is a life changer—trust me. Very small place ~10 tables and a long bar. Did I mention the pulled bacon? OMG. Go!!

Lovely place!

The Wild Son turned out to be a hidden gem in the Meatpacking District. Cozy ambiance, friendly staff and delicious dishes provided us an amazing evening. Can't recommend it enough.

Delicious Food + Cute Atmosphere

By Rachel C |

Stopped by this spot for a mixed brunch/lunch meal with friends before visiting The Whitney Museum (which is around the corner). It's small and there was a big party there so we had to sit at the bar, but it worked out well. Cute decor, great/friendly service, and delicious food. What's not to like? Our group had the Grains & Sunny Salad with roasted chicken added, the Blue Corn Waffle, and one of the sandwiches. I also had one of the green juices (don't remember the name) but everyone loved their food and the atmosphere. Would definitely come back here next time I'm in the area.

Great food and great beerd

We went for dinner and I have to say it was excellent We are a party of 4 and all had a different meal and we all loved it Also , If you like your beers you should also go Lots of choice and knowledgeable staff

Amazing breakfast!

By Jodie Q |

I decided to try this place out one morning that I had off from work. I waited until 10am and when I went in I was greeted by a friendly waitress and got to pick my seat. She was very attentive and took my order right away. The restaurant is quaint and has simple but cute decor. I ordered fresh buttermilk pancakes with berries - the presentation was so beautiful I almost didn't want to eat them. But (of course) I did - savoring every bite. I couldn't finish the 3 pancakes, they were very filling. I wish I knew more of the drink menu - I would have ordered a specialty drink that I later saw random people post photos of on Instagram (I saw a photo of a turmeric mango elixir that looked good and someone else posted a charcoal lemonade? They both looked refreshing. I didn't know they were available - but then again I guess I also wasn't focusing on the drink part of the menu).

Visit!

Unique place for beer and food, definitely coming back! Don’t miss this place ID you’re in the area 😎

Hip and delicious

By TMckissic |

The food at wild son is delicious with deep flavors. My Bloody Mary had spice salt and beets in it making it fresh and good for me even with a good bit of alcohol. The. twist on grandmas chicken soup has kale, carrots and a delicious bone broth. It is great for dipping crusty bread. Try Wild Son, enjoy the atmosphere and the deli delicious well thought out food.

What cute little establishment! Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We got there shortly after they opened. The food was tasty and staff was very attentive. The place is a little small but with the food and conversation, we didnt even notice. Give it a try...you wont be disappointed. By the time we left the place was packed. Hope to see "you" again soon!! Keep up the good work!

Best Birthday Brunch!!

By sweetsweetspot |

For my birthday, I wanted to go to the Whitney Museum (GO!) and so I Googled 'good brunch near Whitney' and The Wild Son came up. Seemed like a good omen since I have two sons who were once wild and was missing them. When we arrived there was a wait of about an hour so we walked over to the Whitney and bought our tix and went through one gallery before returning. We were seated at the bar which turned out to be fortuitous because our waiter/bartender (Paulo/Pablo?) was just the most wonderful entertainer, mixologist and person. For libations, we had the margarita (get one!) and an off-menu gimlet. Both were delicious. I had had the smoked fish on baguette (outstanding) and my husband had an eggwich with some kinda ridiculous "pulled bacon" and the potatoes with rosemary--he loved both and I can vouch for the potatoes (don't miss). Our waiter brought a comped chocolate cake with candle and the whole restaurant sang happy b'day. We also had pancakes because, hey, it was my birthday, and they just looked so good! Couldn't finish them but they were perfect. The food, hip vibe, and decor of this place were wonderful, but it was staff--esp. our waiter--that made it perfect! Thank you Wild son!

Great Little Restaurant

Hip hike in the wall for brunch

Great variety of fresh healthy food. Good beer variety. Near the highline so get some grub and then walk! .

Cool place

By Junior S |

you must come early( a bit before 10am) if you want a seat. I got the painkillers as a coktail( very good combo of banana and rhum) Double cheeseburger and pancakes with banana and granola. The best seat are at the bar or by the window. The service was very nice the food was good. Unfortunatly you wait a long time for the food but its worth waiting for :) thats why its good to get a coktail while you wait for the food.

Awesome cheeseburger!

By Emilie L |

Great little restaurant in the meat packing district that locals seem to enjoy. Cocktails and drinks were delicious. The staff was very nice and helpful.

Food is off the hook

By Doris B |

We were walking the high line and we yelped places close by and this came up. The reviews were great so we thought we would try it. The place was packed with locals and tourists, so you knew it had to be good. OMGoodness the minute we walked in and looked at the menu our mouths were watering. They have the best menu with a variety of tasty dishes for all types of diners. We wanted one of everything. The staff was very welcoming, the service was great. We know NY has many great eating places and I would definitely put this at the top as a must make time to go. Bon Appetite

Great food hidden gem

By Amie K |

Great little place hidden away, food was delicious although served slowly it was worth the wait. The atmosphere was great and the brunch delicious and presented beautifully - the photos don’t do it juice
