I ate most of my breakfasts here! Great bagels, lox and cream cheese (but not in excessive quantities). I also tried lunch, fruit plate was delicious. I noticed that this restaurant is very popular with locals and really full at lunch time. Excellent dining option if you are staying at the nearby hotels - it is open well before 6:30 am which was great since I was jet lagged.

Great food and very attentive staff. We are from England and came here in 2016 and this year and both times been amazing. Highly recommend

All good, we were welcomed by a warm service and food was excellent. Really nice place close to the Met. I soul definitely recommend.

Very nice service, sit down or take out (Central Park is a block away so I recommend take away as the restaurant gets very loud. Pricey, but they make an excellent BLT.

was really looking forward to a lox and bagel ny platter. what a disaster. one of the worse ever. horrible bagel, salty salmon and average vegetables. on ttop of it all. a complete rip off.

I use Three Guys as an alternative to expensive hotel dining in this area. The service is good..... a little stretched when it is crowded, but pleasant. They serve good breakfasts and good lunches for slightly high but reasonable prices for the neighborhood. Eggs, good bacon, good cappuccino, bagels, egg salad, coleslaw etc. I have eaten here many times and will return. Not completely cheap eats, but moderately priced.

we found this restaurant just around the corner and lots of locals frequent it. The food was good and the service very good , good value for money!

Close to the hotel; great for breakfast. Lots of selection of omelets. Prices around $12-15 for omelet.

Truth is, I have lunch with one particular friend here every few weeks and always have the same thing.........cheese omelet, no potatoes, no toast, side of bacon, black coffee. Food is absolutely consistent and quite good......especially the bacon. It's busy but not noisy and everyone is really nice. For its genre, very good..........and filled with Madison Avenue people. Nice.

terrific with children or to just stop by and have counter service for quick bite. The portions are huge so can easily share. It's an institution on the UES!

Great diner, excellent simple food (salads, sandwiches, eggs, greek food). The menu is huge, so you will surely find something good to eat, but given the location of all the Three Guys Restaurants, you will have to pay up

very clean, good diner with good quality food and huge portions. very, very accommodating for children.

We had a quick breakfast here. Despite the fact that it was very close to our hotel we never went back. Just samey New York style basic stuff but put together a bit coarsely. Not wroth the trip on our experience.

High-end Greek diner in a posh area. Two eggs with bacon will run you 13 bucks and salads $25, so it is not cheap, but still it is good alternative in the area and they have some expensive rent to pay. That said, they cook up some excellent Greek specialties. As to be expected, they are excellent with lamb, but they have a huge menu and everyone can find something. They have been there forever and were featured on a documentary about the history and (unfortunately) decline of the Greek diner. A lot of locals come every morning for breakfast, including the occasional celebrity tucked away in a booth. Unlike most diners, they have a working bar and liquor license, so if you want another martini with your early morning eggs, they can manage it. The staff is a friendly and welcoming as can be and in general there is a warm Hellenic vibe permeating the place. Some people come way with a feeling a sticker shock, but remember this is Madison across from the Carlyle. Highly recommended.

Fast service, lots of personalities amongst the waitstaff, classic diner food with a long list of options. Coffee was brewed just right and I personally did not encounter a single person with rude or unhelpful behavior. I dropped in for coffee numerous times.

Food was absolutely amazing, but the service was no where near up to par for the NYC pricing. Got our food and drinks but we're never asked if it was good, if we needed anything or if our empty glasses needed refills while they sat on the edge of the table for over 25 mins. Also took forever to even get the check. Again great food but service needs some work.

The menu was extensive and the service was good, but I could not eat my waffle. The batter was so thin, there were holes in the waffle, it was not even mildly crispy on the surface, and the most unappetizing of all, it was that it was served with containers of "breakfast syrup" from Smuckers. Eeuw.

Great local favorite, stop by for breakfast, hamburgers, dinner or whatever. They deliver and wrap everything to go. Clean and delicious food. Over the years they have managed to fit in more and more tables. There is also a long counter if you are dining alone. The dinner specials are a little pricey...about the price of entrees at local restaurants. Lots of families with kids, just note the number of strollers outside.

Love they open early, 7am, on Saturday! Great selection for breakfast, neighborhood gem! Friendly staff.

Amazing selection of all sorts of delicious foods in a warm comfortable setting. Not cheap, but worth the cost. Definitely a find in this part of town! We will be going back next time we visit Manhattan.

As far as diners go....this place is typical for NYC--EXCEPT--it is a bit too pricey for my choosing. There are other diners in neighborhood where meaals cost considerably less...

Happened by this spot after visiting the Guggenheim. A wonderful neighborhood spot. The staff was very welcoming to us and it is obviously frequented by locals, as many were greeted by name as they came and went. The menu is very wide - traditional Greek/American diner style fare - and it's all very well prepared. Our sandwiches were hot, fresh and delicious, served with great waffle fires. If you're in the area, be sure to drop in. You won't be disappointed!

This place is cozy and serves great food. We visited twice during our stay and the staff made us feel like instant regulars!

Ate here for breakfast and got coffee to go twice. The staff is very friendly with prompt service. Food is very good, everything you expect in a NYC dinner.

We've been to Three Guys several times for breakfast and the service and food is always good. It's a quick and casual diner that serves breakfast lunch and dinner and situated on Madison Ave on the Upper East Side of Manhattan.

One of the best burgers we have ever had. They were cooked perfectly!! Beautiful decor -- diner-like menu but restaurant atmosphere

Three of us called here for brunch. The waitress seated us quickly, brought us water and took our order. My eggs Benedict was nice, my friend's steak and eggs was okay but the real let- down was the pancakes. These came with strawberries but my friend commented that they didn't seem fresh and the pancakes were tasteless. Pity, as the place is nice with plenty booths and tables. The coffee was nice.

So, if you are staying at the Carlyle, and are running out of money to eat.. Order in! Three Guys is close by and has a decent enough menu and they are very accommodating.

Extensive diner-style menu. Chicken salad plate was unimaginative but tasty! Needed a post museum pickup. Friendly staff. Irritable upscale neighborhood patrons.

Amazing service! Had the burger and it came with loads of fries I couldn't finish it! The burger was amazing and really reasonably priced.

Place was better when one if the former owners was there but it now has taken a toll. Food is still pretty good but prices have ris n and frankly there are other choices close by like visna or nectar. Not the same plsce

Nothing special here. Breakfast was ok. It was a little pricey. It was convenient for us, but not memorable. Take a cab to someplace great for breakfast like the Broadway Diner at 57th and 7th.

This place was able to accomidate a large group within minutes, we had 7 people. All our food was tasty and come out within minutes of each other so we were all able to eat together.

I had my quintessential New York sandwich here - hot pastrami on rye bread with a pickle and mustard on the side - fantastic. The spot is full of local people … and busy at lunch time which is the time to go to see all the people and get the vibe of a proper NYC spot

In my opinion the food and the Service were just wonderful. A wonderful place to eat before going to the MET. I will come again.

This is good diner offering a good breakfast for a very reasonable price, close the top museums of New York. Very friendly staff.

My family went up to NYC for buy a prom dress for my daughter. We stayed up in one of the 5 star hotels where the food prices were INSANE! We walked one block and headed to Three Guys where the prices were NORMAL, and the food delicious. The staff made us feel like family as we ate breakfast there four days in a row. All our meals were delicious, and the coffee endless. What a joy to find this special place in the middle of the upper east side. Thank you everyone who made our trip special. Love from your Cocoa Beach friends.

Three guys looks very uninviting, but the food was not bad. It's decent food for an average price. I understand this is a very popular place, I do not quite understand why as for me it did not stand out. But it's fine for breakfast at least.

Three Guys was recommended by one of the doormen at The Surrey, around the corner. "Pick something up at Three Guys. Do it New York style - walk and eat!". We took his advice and found Three Guys to be a great option for a sandwich (with some fries and a salad too!). Tasty food, decent prices (typically Upper East Side, so a bit higher than downtown) and nice staff. They also had a decent selection of cakes, muffins and desserts!

I was a walk-in at Three Guys last Saturday morning for breakfast. It is obviously a neighborhood restaurant where 'regulars' are known and made welcome. There is no welcome for visitors. Service was poor at best. My 'deluxe' mushroom omelette was edible in a fast food fashion. I made an effort to check out other breakfast venues for the balance of my stay in New York

Really a "diner" right there on Madison. It certainly is as good or better than most diners. Great for breakfast or lunch, although there entrees looked diner worthy. reasonable value, good food & very attentive service

Our family stopped here for lunch after visiting the Guggenheim Museum and found prompt service and an enjoyable city atmosphere (not to mention an unconfirmed celebrity sighting). We were happy with our food and how quickly we were able to be back on our way to see the city.

This is a nice little diner right on Madison surrounded by very high end stores that one can only find in NYC. We had breakfast here: the place was cosy, staff were efficient and friendly, and the food was good with ample portions. Nothing to complain about! If you're looking for a good, solid meal this is a nice diner to go to. I can understand that some people may not have as nice an experience during busy times so that is something to consider as well.

Many tables, but the bar is very broad and very comfortable. Fast service, very friendly. Very good cleanliness and very good food for lunch.

I love 3 Guys, I eat here with my kids at least once a week. The staff are friendly, treat us well, and let my kids behave like kids. To me, that is worth every penny! That said, given the diner's high rent location, the food is very expensive for what it is (think: $23 green salads, $11 tuna sandwich, etc). If you are just visiting the area, for similar prices you can dine at Cafe Boulud, Sant Ambroes, Jean George at The Mark where you will have extremely fine food and wine and top notch service. This diner is for locals who need a kid friendly place around the block.

This was a great place to stop after our visit to the Frick Museum. Plenty of choices for everyone. My turkey burger was very good.

Good Value for money in this Platinum Neighborhood. Have requested this place for over 30 years. It fine a for quick breakfast or lunch. Meet expectations.

Whether be it big step, lunch, or dinner the food is amazing. Excellent service and great variety. Prices so reasonable for New York.

Stayed at the surrey hotel just round the corner and had a couple of meals at 3 guys, breakfast was good, wife had pancakes and i had hot oatmeal with honey and banana. Also had dinner one night which was very good and the service was great and portions very large.

We enjoyed breakfast and lunch here at Three Guys. Always fresh and delicious. Convenient hours and seating is comfortable.

We ate breakfast here every morning during our recent stay in new York City. We were guests of the Surrey, but because of our poor experience there(see separate review) and their extremely expensive food, we chose to eat the Three Guys. serivce was usually swift and friendly and even breakfast was delicious. I particularly enjoyed the poached eggs and corn beef hash. I would recommend this restaurant and would return without hesitation.

A classic diner that we found by accident on our way from the MET to the MET Breuer. They have quick service and our burgers came very fast, nothing special but good.

Restaurant is in a good location especially if you are looking for somewhere to eat after touring the Met. Service is ok bit a bit cold. Food is delivered promptly but it isn't special or really tasty but is very expensive. Place is packed, I would probably go elsewhere next time.

There are several Three Guys , I like this one especially for breakfast, good coffee great omelettes and wonderful service. I hear its even great for luch but I have not been.

My wife and I really like the smaller and more casual restaurants in New York including its remarkably variety of diners. I hesitate to call Three Guys a diner but it has a menu like a diner - a wide variety of dishes for any time of day. The food here is simply excellent. My recent grilled ham and cheese on multigrain was a tribute to the concept! I skipped the fries but saw them go by and may weaken next time. They looked great. The service is excellent. The whole place is spotless. The location as a respite from Museum Mile is perfect. Three Guys has become a regular place for us.

Lots to pick from in this quaint neighborhood restaurant! Friendly staff, clean, elbow room at the tables. Too many yummy specials to pick from- you won't go hungry! Family friendly.

Very nice coffee shop on a very chique street. Nice alternative to 30 dollar plates of pasta at the Italian restaurants near by! Comfort food , burgers, shakes, a no frills quality lunch place. Convenient for coffee and pastry too ... can't go wrong here.

While not as atmospheric as some diners, Three Guys is very clean and very good! They excel at a grilled ham and cheese sandwich with good cole slaw and their tuna melt is also high quality. Lots of booths and attentive wait staff! Perfectly located near Frick Madison.

Amazing place :) delicious breakfast :) very kind and sweet Guys :) very good quality for fair price! Nice and tidy place :) Nest coffee in NY :)

Madison near 89th Street shop: I'll start with the good - efficient service, extensive diner-style menu with Greek specialties, and good burgers. My partner was very happy with his choice - Roquefort burger served as he likes it - rare. He also liked the side of onion rings. My choice from the Panini list was a dud. Grilled chicken so badly overlooked and dried out that I couldn't eat it. Not rubbery, more like hard plastic. Not much flavor from the avocado, tomato and mushrooms in the sandwich, so I gave up. I'm sure we'll be back so I'll try a salad or non-chicken dish. The sandwich comes with a mountain of waffle-cut fries (tasty at first, then just too many). BTW, restrooms are up a flight of stairs. I didn't see handicap alternative. So it's hard to rate -- high marks for one of us, very low for the other.

Somewhat on the higher egde of prices this coffee shop/restaurant has a relatively large menue. Food was ok but nothing to write home about

Loved eating here. Not fancy, inexpensive, yet they clearly appeal right across the socio-economic range judging by the day we ate there. Very happy to recommend it.

Passing by so stopped for lunch. Although very busy we were seated quickly, with a good view overlooking the street. The service was prompt. Starters of chowder, mains of crabcakes and home made pie and to end 2 coffees. Very good sized portions and all of the food was very tasty. Bill of about 44 dollars, excluding tip. Very good value for money. Will definately return.

friendly, good coffee, great toast and home fries. you'll love it. They didn't rush you and made you feel at home.

This is a diner, and there are three of them, right on Madison Ave. Basic, clean decor and comfort food works for me. We enjoyed breakfast and would definitely go back again for an early meal or lunch.

Very friendly and reasonably priced in a neighborhood where the prices are generally sky high. Good quality. Excellent value.

This is your basic neighborhood diner on the upper east side. Food is pretty good with large portions, as you've come to expect in places like this.

Food was very good, the service was good and prices were slightly below average for the neighborhood.

This diner is on Madison Ave. and appropriately it has a classier appearance and attracts a varied clientele of business folk and mothers and fathers with kids. Menu runs the gamut from breakfast fare through sandwiches, salads, and burgers plus some Greek specialities. We opted for the Reuben and fries (very good!) and the tuna salad platter (generous with sliced tomatoes and cucumber plus cole slaw and a hard boiled egg). All what you would expect—in a good way. I also checked out the restroom and it was one of the cleanest ones I’ve been in of a number of recent restaurants. The prices aren’t cheap, but it is New York so I’d say they are reasonable for the quality and their location..

Popped in for breakfast. Food was very good quality. service was attentive. Nothing to fault at all.

A wonderful local restaurant with good food and service. Upscale customers and tourists, gallery and museum crowd, and food to match. Clean, lots of booths, comfortable, and attentive waiters. Lots of traditional Greek/American fare...food always fresh....burgers, salads, eggs, chicken, fish.....great choices. Service is quick, but you are never rushed....a good choice for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

The concierge at our hotel recommended Three Guys as a good place to experience a NYC diner. I guess it is just not our thing, but the breakfast items that we chose were fairly rubbery and ordinary. After paying $90 including tip (for three breakfast meals) for a the experience, I know where to avoid in the future.

I normally don't write poor reviews, however, this one required it. When we got in, we were seated promptly, which we thought was great. We had ordered the chicken souvlaki and the gyro platters based on the waitress' recommendation that "YOU will like it" (this should have been a clue...). Both came out COLD - not impressed at all. Our meat was cold, the side salad had cubed feta cheese - who does this? It literally was a plate of feta with a few leafy greens. The rice was cold and hard, I actually had a tough time eating the food here, but due to all of our walking the price we were paying (about $15/plate for cold disgusting food), we thought we'd try to scarf down at least part of our food. I would STAY AWAY from this place. The other waiter who was helping the table behind us, dropped his tray of beverages all over a paying customer... terrible. We didn't really get any service at this place and it was just plain horrible that we got out of there as soon as we could. DO NOT EAT HERE - unless you want to be sick.

Very nice setting, tasty food and excellent attentive service. Yes, it's not very cheap, but hey! It's the upper east side of Manhattan. We had omelettes with potatoes & toast. The coffee guy came by regularly for free refills.

Went in there at around 4pm when many people are already having dinner but to do a snack, surprised by a delicious cheesecake and a hot chocolate. The servers are so nice and friendly and being Oct 31st they were giving candy to all children who came to trick or treat, it was lovely to see them do that! The place is a full meals restaurant but in this ocassion we only enjoyed a tea time style meal, we will be back!

We stumbled upon this diner - two adults and three hungry kids 11 and under - and we're so happy we did. The service was warm and welcoming even though we were obviously from out of town. It was full and lively, and the manager couldn't have been more of a host to us. Food was prompt, affordable, simple, plenteous and delicious. Thank you so much for giving us a fabulous experience. Highly recommended.

Good, generous, clean, and affordable. We enjoyed our meal a lot, and warmly recommend the place. 46 $ for two included a beer each, plus a de luxe hamburger served with fresh salad, tomatoes, French fries, etc. , plus coffee.

My husband and I planned a day in NYC to see an exhibit at the Met Breuer at 75th and Madison, plus a quick visit to the Met itself to see our favorite paintings. Almost half way between these two museums is Three Guys Restaurant. The food was delicious. I recommend the Greek specialties. We love finding these local places, and this one's a gem.

We loved this place and visited several times. Close by where we were staying, excellent service, and good food. I'm not sure we would have traveled across NYC to eat here, but if you're in the area, it's great for breakfast or a sandwich.

Decor and clientele are both very nice. Bright and clean. The food was good but no better than Viand cafe which was within walking distance and less expensive

Three Guys is a well oiled machine. We arrived at 12.30 and were seated within a few minutes. The host was very attentive and polite to his guests no matter how obnoxious or demanding they were. The food is typical NYC diner fare - very good. The wait staff was really great.

We love everything about this diner. The food is excellent. The restaurant is immaculate! The staff friendly and efficient.

Came with a friend after having a long day of work and was satisfied with the steak and fries that were put on my plate. Good service and pleasant atmosphere to have a bite to eat. very satisfying.

Every weekend for 3 years I visit this place, spending and tipping a lot, despite the filthy toilets. Today my family of 3 arrive, we are seated on a table of 4 and then 5 minutes later we are asked to move as a party of 4 arrive and they ask us to wait 15 mins. Poor service, very disappointing. I will never return with my family or business associates again.

The Three Guys is an absolute amazing New York City based diner that offers guests superbly made meals at bargain prices. In October of 2022, I brought and treated my wife and myself for dinner at the Three Guys and we very much enjoyed our dining experience. We were graciously welcomed by the restaurant’s staff, quickly provided with a table and our meals were served in a timely fashion. My wife’s meal (Lamb Gyro Platter w/fries) and my meal (Lamb Gyro Sandwich w/fries) was superbly delicious and definitely ranks among the best Greek made cuisine I’ve ever had!!! When visiting New York, definitely make sure you stop by and dine at The Three Guys restaurant!!!

I visited this place on September 27, 2015 and was very pleased. I had the chicken wrap and fries! It was really good. A visit here should not leave you disappointed. The service was fast as well.

Run of the mill food but priced accordingly. If you need a quick breakfast at a reasonable price this place will do.

We came across this place whilst walking up to the museum. Considering it's location, we were impressed at the prices so decided to try it out. We were greeted warmly and led to a comfortable booth where I ordered the french toast and my husband, the eggs with sausages & toast. Both were really lovely as was the coffee we ordered. An overall very pleasant experience with the total bill only $40 with tip.

$16 for a bagel with cream cheese, coffee and small juice. Toasted bagel got cold while waiting for cream cheese which the waiter forgot. Tasteless bagel. Rip off.

If you find yourself in vicinity of 76th and Madison, based on two breakfasts I would say this is a standout for a reliably good American breakfast, served promptly and efficiently in a spotless environment. This is not the usual diner, but a cut above in my opinion. It is not fine dining and doesn't pretend to be, more of quality neighborhood diner-plus.

We have been good customers for over 40 years. Alas John, one of the owners sold out. This used to be a favored spot on Madison to go with children, In laws, Parents and friends. I will never go there again. I want to add that when I write reviews I try to point out positives first and problems second because being in business is very hard today. I have never been treated badly in any restaurant and I travel all over the world for business and am often alone. There are enough restaurants in New York that returning is not necessary. I was in between doctors appointments looking to have a quick lunch and stay on my diet. In New York that usually means a coffee shop. From now on I will go to Viand, New Amity or Nectar where the owners are nice and there is no drama. When I arrived, alone, there were no tables or seats at the bar. I said that I was happy to wait for a table - it's winter, I had too much with me to sit comfortably at the bar. I waited for twenty minutes being asked repeatedly "Would I like the counter?" I said no- a small booth would be great and that I would wait. Everyone in front of me got a table. Finally a small booth opened and I asked if I could sit down and was told yes. I went to sit and another person came up and said "You can't sit there- go over to that other table. I said " Excuse me I was told I can sit here and I only have 25 minutes left to eat.The man said " I made a mistake this lady was ahead of you. I said "That lady was no where in sight. I waited . I want to sit at the booth. At this point I started yelling because I wanted everyone to know what was going on. I asked to speak to the owner and the owner's son who is six feet and some inches came over and started pushing me towards the door. When I said "you can't do this". He replied you are yelling: it's not nice and I said I waited for twenty minutes and you gave my table to someone who wasn't here. He basically said he could do whatever he wanted. I told him I wrote reviews and he said" TripAdvisor Smipadvisor, so what, no one cares. So I left and went to the Carlyle where I sat down, had a seafood salad and made it to my appointment. I got married at the Carlyle and used to hang out there with Bobby Short and even though they don't remember me, they always treat me like a lady. All I can say is the owner should fire his son. All of my friends who own Manhattan's best restaurants are always nice to the customers- whoever they may be. Please do not go here if you are a woman eating alone. By the way the rude son said it was my fault for eating alone. WHATTTTTTTTT

The concierge at our hotel had recommended 3 guys as a way to experience a true nyc diner. It was just me and my teenagers and it seemed like a good idea. Maybe we caught them on an off day, but 30 minutes and $90 later, we left hungry. The food is poorly executed IHOP fare. Burnt pancakes, rubbery bacon and runny scrambled eggs was what served. If that is a true nyc diner experience, I will gladly check that off the list for the future.

This place was packed so we figured it was a winner. It wasn’t. My meal was served mostly lukewarm and I was seated at the bar. How does that happen? Hash browns were tuff because they were old and been sitting around too long. Pancake was cold and overcooked. The omelet looked like something a five year old prepared. I wouldn’t feed my kids the food that was served to me. The $8 a cup coffee was ok, I guess that’s something.

Stopped here with the family on a whim. The menu was extensive -- breakfast food, many options for lunch and dinner, something for everyone. The portions were on the small side. My teenaged boys were definitely still hungry after the meal. The plates came with no extras -- i.e. the French toast was two pieces on the plate and no sides, no orange slices or anything. We are used to NYC prices but these did seem high for what we got. That said, the restaurant was able to seat us right away although it was definitely hopping in there. Service was friendly, if not efficient. We waited a very long time for someone to take our order. I wouldn't AVOID this place, but I wouldn't CHOOSE it again. It's fine, and if you have kids or picky eaters or diverse needs in your group, it's a decent choice.

I went for breakfast. Usual unhealthy fare - everything with home fries, etc. I had 2 poached eggs which were cooked well. Toast was toasted. Service was okay. If you want a classic diner this is it but nothing special.

We are frequent denizens of this Madison Ave and 75th St. diner. This is really a classic New York diner/restaurant. A menu pages long, generous portions, reasonable price, very efficient service and you get what you expected - no surprises either up or down here. The strollers in the front, and the busy counter in the back say all you need to know. You can even get a drink!

Three Guys is right around the corner from the Surrey Hotel and instead of eating a large and expensive breakfast at the Surrey we went around to Three Guys every morning. I always had a yogurt and fruit parfait which was delicious and my husband had some variety of eggs and bacon. The bacon was consistently crispy and eggs always cooked as ordered. Their coffee is hot, not lukewarm like other places, and even comes with warmed milk. And the service is friendly and FAST! A must with so much in the city to see and do.

My wife and I discovered Three Guys for breakfast on our way to the Guggenheim. Three Guys offers an extensive menu. My wife ordered an omellete, I ordered lox and bagels. Both were substantial, fresh, and delicious. Service was great. We are glad that we found Three Guys.

If you want a friendly family-feel to your restaurant, with good food and good portions served with a smile, this is your kinda place.

Lovely traditional diner, good menu and friendly service.Lovely Upper East side location.Had brunch which ticked all the boxes.

Recently visited. Ordered a bagel, cream cheese, coffee and small juice. Cost with tip: Close to $20. The toasted bagel was cold when delivered; it was delivered without the cream cheese I ordered; took forever to get the cream cheese. I felt ripped off. Would never return.

Well priced for the area and convenient to the hotel. Very good service. Lots of regulars which is reassuring for a visitor.

Definitely friendly and attentive service, and popular with the septuagenarian plus locals and tourists (like us). Little bit grubby (last redecorated when the Kennedy’s were in the White House). Food is mediocre but lots of people like that. Could be better if the food improved a couple of notches. Get some lady chefs!

I visited this "business" for breakfast, and a few hours later I get a call from American Express that 2 separate $1,500 charges were charged on my card at Macy's. I do not know how this happened, but this was the only place I used my card at all day. I called the restaurant to talk to the manager, and the person who answered the phone hung up on me first, and when I called again he refused to give me the name of the manager. He said quite frankly, "I can not give you her name". I will never visit this place again. The food was subpar at best, and I am tremendously thankful that I did not use a debit card. Apparently, they hire grand larcenist, so I question the judgement of the owners. Diners come a dime a dozen in NYC, and if I were you I would scratch this one off my list.

We walked into this restaurant for breakfast as it is close to where we stayed. The waiter seemed in so much of a rush that he barely had time to listen to our order. Breakfast was good except he forgot the sausage and brought bacon instead. He changed it right away. I just find it weird that in New York you are expected to tip 20% for non existent service. Not friendly , no smiles.. Food was good.

Great traditional food at a very good price, as with most of New York restaurants are vastly overpriced this place isn’t, very good service with a nice selection on the menus If you are looking for something in New York where the locals go try here.

Amazing american breakfasts during our stay in NYC. Very, very good. It was just around the corner from our hotel and most of the people in for breakfast were locals. Loved it.

Three Guys was an excellent alternative after visiting The Met Breuer. We had lunch at 3:00 pm and most of the restaurants in the area were closed. The Diner is a family type of restaurant and the food was good for the occasion.

Went there for supper one night with my husband and returned the next morning for breakfast. Service good, food delicious.

Popped in for a quick lunch one day. I ordered a Reuben sandwich and a beer. The Reuben was decent - though not the best - and the beer was cold. What stood out for me though - and more than made up for the pretty average sandwich experience - was that when I went to pay, armed only with an AMEX card (which I found out they don't accept), the manager told me that it was no problem at all for me to come back and pay later. What? This in modern-day New York City?? I couldn't go back to the restaurant until at least 5 hours later to pay up (in cash) - and when I did so the lady on the teller very unceremoniously simply took the cash, flashed me a smile and I was on my way. How cool is that? I was staying in a hotel just round the corner, and the next morning I popped by for breakfast. Again, the food wasn't amazing (I think it's a basic human right to have eggs with cooked rather than clear runny whites) but the coffee ran freely and on checking out I got a knowing grin from the cashier ...

I hadn't been to Three Guys for ages so decided to drop in and have lunch. Delicious diners in NYC are becoming a thing of the past. Nothing is homemade and all appears to be frozen or out of a bag. I will not go here again.

I was staying in a hotel around the corner for a three days business trip in the city and ended up having breakfast, lunch and dinner here. Everything was excellent- I would eat here at least twice a week if I could. The steak & eggs was outstanding, so were the pancakes, the cheese steak sandwich and the cheesecake! Staff were friendly, they remember you and it reminded me of Cheers- where everyone knows your name! Gonna miss it!

Came upon this place while randomly walking the streets of NYC. Very crowded at lunchtime, so obviously a favorite in the neighborhood. We enjoyed our lunch.

Stopped in on a Saturday night with a friend. Ordered the Blackened Salmon sandwich for $ 18.00. Not sure if they know what blackened is but this certainly wasn't. A small maybe 4 ounce piece of salmon on a roll with way too much lettuce. French Fries were good. For 18 bucks I expect something much better. Place was empty so maybe I'm not the only unhappy customer. Friend got a grilled chicken sandwich which wasn't much better. Maybe breakfast is good, but stay away at dinner !

Great coffee shop with a complete menu at surprisingly reasonable pricing for the neighborhood. Chuck full of the ladies who lunch on the run and their kids, it is still a pleasant place for lunch.

My daughter and I had only 45 minutes to eat before heading to the airport. We informed the waiter. He made suggestions. We were out of the restaurant in 30 minutes. My daughter had a pesto chicken sandwich and I had a green salad with shrimp. Both dishes were very good. It looks like a great place for breakfast, maybe next time.

Had breakfast here when staying at the nearby Carlyle, was recommended by the concierge. Authentic NYC diner with great choice of food and big portions.

Stopped off for lunch during shopping trek! Warm& friendly atmosphere - loved the pastrami sandwich - good wine list.

We walked in for lunch after visiting the Metropolitan Museum and enjoyed a simple and excellent meal. The staff were friendly and pleasant.

A bit like a diner, but on Madison Avenue. The food is tasty, the restaurant is clean and the people are friendly. Good for a quick breakfast.

The food and service was great. So great we went back a second time while we were there for 5 days. Our waiter Johnny was the best. The food is a bit pricey but delicious. Try the grilled blueberry muffin. It was amazing.

I stopped for lunch before the Frick. Everything was outstanding: service and food. While pricey I thought the ingredients were of high quality, generous portion and very tasty food. On my recent visit to NYC i ate at 4 different restaurants and this one was by far the best.

We visited from New Zealand for 5 days and stayed at the nearby Carlyle Hotel. The close proximity to our hotel as well as the comparatively cheap prices made this a daily stop for either breakfast or dinner. The food was good and the service was great. While I doubt we will be back this way again once we return home, it remains a fond memory of our trip.

The food was good and served quick. We ate lunch here twice because of the conveinence to our hotel. The salad was very fresh and tasteful. The chicken salad was also very good.

Good NYC diner that's quick and easy. Not far from the museums and everyone can get what they want. It's always good and they always find a way to accommodate multiple families dining together.

Staff very good and friendly. Food OK and price OK. The service was really efficnt and professional.

I would not recommend Three Guys. It is very pricey for what you get. We ordered a chicken gyro sandwich which cost $17!!!! Unbelievable. It also was small, had what appeared to be processed chicken and wasn't even very warm. The wine was priced ok, but tasted like it was out of a jug. Atmosphere is similar to a coffee shop without coffee shop prices. This restaurant is not high on my list when there are fabulous restaurants withing a few blocks that have far better food for the same or less price.

So we love the way the Carlyle, Surrey an Mark can spoil you on a stay to the City; we just aren't huge fans of $65 scrambled eggs for breakfast. There are 3 of these cafe type locations 10 blocks apart on Madison starting at 76th and heading north. Our latest trip was as reliable as the first. This is not haute cuisine, but it is good food at reasonable prices if you just need a quick bite. Clearly plenty of regulars from the neighborhood.

We came here for breakfast after suffering the breakfast efforts of our hotel for two days and being unable to take any more. This place was brilliant. Extensive menu, great service and the food was delicious. Gutted we didn't find it earlier on our stay!!

This is nothing more than a diner, but their prices could be equal to a white table restaurant. Food is good but not worth the prices they charge.

What a great find after a wonderful morning at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. It is a typical deli with booths, serving generous helpings of the usual fare. Service was brisk but efficient and it was very clean. Good bathrooms upstairs.

Not bad, but not good. Disappointing for a NYC restaurant. Don't get chicken souvlaki kinda dry. Service was a little slow but not bad.

...but at a price (you would expect for the area) which is a bit high for the quality of the food itself. We ate burger with onion rings, which was fine, but 2 guys more would've made a better burger... And fruit and yogurt which was fine but a little low on the amount of fruit.

I can't really relate to some of the other reviews here. This place is fine. It's very busy with locals buzzing in and out. It has a nice homely atmosphere. We were seated in 10 minutes. We were famished after a hard couple of hours around the corner at the Frick. The food is good if not spectacular but certainly perfectly fine. My burger with avocado and cheese was very nice. Hard to fault actually. My mother and brother were also very happy with their meals. We shared a cheesecake for dessert and it was lovely. The service was brisk and efficient. It's not what I'd call a cheap place but who cares given it seemed to be the only mid priced restaurant in this locality. All in all, our experience was good and I'd be happy to return if I returned to this area.

Menu had great variety and served breakfast all day. You sat yourself which gave you the option to be by a window, booth or table. Staff was very welcoming and friendly

This place cranks out great breakfasts for UES regulars and visitors alike. Service is prompt, coffee flows abundant and portions are generous. We found prices to be reasonable but if they're expensive by your standards, share your meal... You won't leave hungry.

Yes, its a standard NY diner. So it has typical diner food, but cooked well and to order. We had breakfast here every morning because we were staying across the street at The Carlyle. Great quick option to get the kids fueled up for a long day with a lot of walking. Service was good and relatively fast even when busy.

We stopped here for a late lunch after several hours at the Guggenheim around the corner. A welcome respite after the great NYC blizzard of 2013. The menu is very extensive, making you wonder if they can do all those things well. Each entree came with soup or a generous salad. The servings of chicken, pastitio, and crab cakes were very plentiful--in fact so large that we took the leftovers home and had our supper too. Clearly the culinary emphasis (and the decor) is Greek. This friendly place is more neighbourhood diner with big servings of filling food rather than upscale cuisine.

Classic diner on the upper east side. Nothing fancy at all, but food came out quickly, was really delicious (just had a bagel and lox and some fruit), and the coffee was bottomless. Liked the service as well. Nice quiet spot to meet a friend and have a fun get-together and meaningful conversation.

Came out of Central Park completely lost and came here for breakfast on July 4th. The waiter was lovely and instantly recognised we where from the north of the uk. The food was delicious and filling and he kept our coffee filled would recommend to anyone just for the hospitality.

Had a bug in my salad, and will NOT go back. Have been coming here for years but something is off since COVID. Food is WAY OVERPRICED and they are cutting corners. Do NOT waste your time or money.

Rude from the moment I walked in. Waited 20 minutes- no menu- took part of the table away for someone else and left the chairs. Food looked bad…. although I never got to eat there. Not cheap. Give someone else your $$$$.

We were staying at an up-market and expensive hotel nearby. We came here for breakfast each day. There was a very good choice of food and each time it was delicious. Very good English tea with unlimited top-ups was a bonus for us Brits. Everyone who served us was friendly and chatty and there was a really good atmosphere. Highly recommended.

This is a diner, not a 5 star restaurant. Still, the food quality and choice is excellent. They seem to emphasize Greek-style food, though they serve all the basic choices, burgers, sandwiches, pasta, salads, breakfast dishes, etc. They are always busy, which means the food is fresh. Prices are reasonable for the area. Service is prompt and excellent. I stay nearby at the Surrey frequently and eat here often since it is right around the corner. They are open all day into the evening, and also do takeout and delivery service. I highly recommend this to anyone wanting a good, filling meal without breaking the bank.

Warm, comfortable, large, nicer than your average NYC coffee shop. When he was alive, I used to see Roy Scheider there all the time. Prompt service, prices probably a little higher because of the neighborhood, but two eggs any way, toast + home fries = $9.50

This place is so overpriced! The menu listed on Trip Advisor is not even close to the real prices! Buyer beware, it’s false advertising! It was 171.00 for 6 of us before tip. We had tap water to drink, and we didn’t order any extras. We had a salad, an order of Mac and cheese, 2 orders of fettuccini Alfredo (no chicken, just the fettuccini Alfredo) a panini, and a philly cheesesteak sandwich. That’s it - for $171. We will never go back, absolutely overpriced for what you get. Please update your menu with your real menu and accurate pricing!

After having breakfast here for 12 days, we were really sad that our stay in NYC was coming to an end. We would have loved to continue to visit John and his nice colleagues, but the distance (over 6000 km) is just too great. The eggs Benedict, the Belgian waffle and the porridge with fresh fruit were delicious, the service, as I said, was extremely friendly, attentive and efficient and the clientele was an interesting cross-section of the local neighborhood, with Tom Selleck (Magnum, Blue Bloods) even sitting at a table next to us once. We definitely felt very comfortable and can definitely recommend the restaurant.

The food here was fairly average compared to other diners in the area. The service wasn't fantastic (empty cups and glasses stayed cluttering our table) and the prices don't reflect the quality of the food.

We stayed just round the corner at the Surrey hotel an found this place we had breakfast here every morning of our stay in NYC it was amazing! The French toast was delicious and bagels, omelettes, breakfast wraps the list is endless and the service was fantastic! Definitely need to visit here whilst in NYC you won't be disappointed!

Some things you never ever want to change, and this UES comfort-food gem could top the list. They serve the stuff you so often just want, in the way you always want it served. Even the pickles and cole slaw are absolutely right. I could murder a swiss cheese burger with fried onions just about now...

Great Café on Madison, just east of Central Park. Service was attentive, and friendly. It was relatively empty on a cold weekday morning - but a great environment to enjoy time together. On weekends it is busy with many locals and families from the area - come early.

This is a pretty good place to eat breakfast on the upper east side. Menu has great variety and their good with kids. Take out however isn't the best. They guy on the phone rushed me off and when we went to get our order not only was it wrong but there was no one in the Resturant. Overall I would Reccomend but prefer Sarahbeths.

Walking along Madison Avenue among the exclusive stores, it is hard to image a humble diner located among the glitz. The Three Guys has an extensive menu, and a welcoming environment. The wine list is surprising. The food was fresh and well prepared. The service was also fast and attentive. The clientele was generational and this is also appealing

Went there for breakfast. Service was fast and friendly. Food was average. I had steak and eggs. Wife has eggs benedict. Food looked better than it tasted. Too expensive for the low quality.

We came across this exceptional dinner/ restaurant while staying on the UES. From the moment we walked in the staff was extremely attentive and the service is impeccable. The menu is comprised of a multitude of options including all day breakfast, comfort favs like pasta and burgers as well as salads galore. The food is fantastic and everything was very clean. This is an overall perfect place for a casual meal in a quality environment.

We came upon Three Guys restaurant quite be chance and were very pleased with our 'accidental' choice. We were all seated promptly and received excellent service from the staff throughout our visit. It was time for brunch so we chose French Toast, eggs, bacon and pancakes. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and would certainly visit this restaurant again.

Fresh food. Mango, strawberry and walnut over mescaline greens with a mango vinaigrette dressing. Sandwiches tasty. Coffee and cappuccino hot and fresh as well.

Three Guys always delivers...on all levels. The staff is friendly, service is fast, the menu offers everything and the food is delicious. I went with a friend who started out wanting a more "upscale" restaurant, afterwards said, "I'm so glad we came here- this is exactly the kind of brunch I wanted!"

Nice Greek Dinner! The service is great and accommodating and prices pretty fair. I have hit this dinner a few times and found the consistent! The burgers come with fries and cold slaw and the panini sandwiches are really great much better than the burgers. The salads are delicious!

Staff capable, food edible, but overall just plain average. It is quiet and completely unassuming. Really not much more to say...

Everything is delicious especially the breakfast staples i.e. pancakes and omelets. At lunchtime the salads and hamburgers are excellent. A full house of regulars especially good for families visiting a museum. Everything has Manhattan Upper East Side prices but worth it.

We were wandering along Madison Ave looking for somewhere to eat when we found Three Guys restaurant, it has a diner feel about it and very welcoming staff. We ordered an Asian salad and a Chop salad, both were huge but delicious. It was not expensive and I would recommend this restaurant.

My sister and I were staying in the area and decided to call in for a late lunch. We were served promptly - my sister had a salad and I had a burger - both very good and both very filling. We had a window seat and it was nice to see the hustle and bustle of the world going down Madison.

Great sandwiches for lunch. We also had breakfast there in 2012 and enjoyed it. Service is quick and food very good. Everything is hot and the waiter was attentive with the coffee refills.
Lunch and a Celebrity Sighting
We were walking north on Madison, having left the Frick museum at noon. Restaurants are not very numerous north of 71st Street, Then, we came upon the "3 Guys" which looks like a pleasant neighborhood restaurant. It was busy, but the three of us were seated within about five minutes. Yeah, it's a bit pricey but that's the norm in this part of town. We had omelletes which were delicious; service was friendly and efficient. While enjoying our lunch, Tom Hanks came by the table; we learned he "lives around the corner." Since this is New York, no one bothered him. We left the "3 Guys" very satisfied.
