Fantastic

By lisariley5 |

We were warmly greeted and promptly seated in this hip East Village restaurant. My husband and I loved this place from the moment we entered. Quaint, fresh and unpretentious. The menus were made of old book bindings- cool touch. We saw others who ordered the glowing adult Capri Suns, and both wish we had ordered one, if only for the novelty. The menu has plenty variety for every taste. We started with the pork belly tacos, and octopus, then had crispy chicken and lobster Mac for our mains. The dishes are served tapas style and meant to be shared; 4 was the perfect amount for the two of us. The lobster Mac was AHHMAZING! The crispy chicken was perfectly cooked and seasoned in a spicy sweet sauce. We loved everything we tried. I highly recommend Thursday Kitchen. The prices are reasonable, and the food & service is fantastic.

Real Gem

By mmb123 |

We weren't sure what to expect as its newly open but I had read a good review in the ny times. Well, we weren't disappointed, the food is excellent and well priced, lovely atmosphere and fantastic cocktails It only opens at 6 and they don't take reservations. Luckily we arrived at 6 and got in as there were Qs after that. Real gem.

Good Food, Drinks and Vibes

By Jin K |

The food which is Korean fusion tapas were delicious and fun to share. Service was great and very nice. I love the ambiance here to meetup some friends and have a good time. Definitely get the cocktails in the little capri-sun looking bags! They are delicious, pretty and definitely addictive. Place can get crowded so be prepared for a wait.

"adult capri suns" are great, but food is just okay

By Melanie T |

All of the Instagram/Yelp hype led me to Thursday Kitchen for their 'adult Capri-Suns', or soju cocktails served in a pouch with a fancy LED ice cube. That, and their kimchi paella. Three friends and I came in on a Wednesday for dinner. One of them had gotten there earlier at 6 and said the place was completely dead. This wasn't the case when I arrived at 6:30. By then, it was starting to fill up but unfortunately, since our entire party was not there, they wouldn't seat us (understandable, since the restaurant is pretty small). I decided to order a drink at the bar while we waited but it was a cash only bar. Since I had a whopping $3 on me, the only option I had was to redeem the free beer via Yelp check-in (valid only 6-7 and 10-11). When everyone finally arrived, we managed to nab the last booth and check out the menu. Since it's tapas style and we wanted to try quite a few dishes, we decided to just order a bunch, and just share everything. They might tell you it's not enough food, but my advice would be to order a few items first, and you can always add on later. Here is everything we ordered to share: Kimchi paella (white tiger shrimp, mussles, caramelized kimchi) - what one Yelper said about the kimchi paella was absolutely on point: It was more like a risotto than it was a paella. Also, the mussels in there were a bit chewy and bland. Steak (soy-garlic glaze, fetta grits, sautéed kale) - they don't ask how well you want it cooked, and we also forgot to tell them. But they brought it out medium rare, which would have been my preference anyway. Even at medium rare, the beef was chewy. The soy-garlic glaze was excellent though. Crispy chicken (sweet and spicy sauce, black sesame crumbles) - this was probably my favorite dish of the night. The chicken was cooked perfectly, and the sauce was not too sweet or too spicy. Octopus (korean pear, sweet soy-scallion, chardonnay gellée, mango) - the octopus was a little chewy, and the chardonnay gellée was...interesting - I'm not sure if it was in a good way Truffle Mac and Cheese (manila clam, fontina, gruyere, mozzarella) - when this first comes out, you'll be hit with a strong smell of truffles. However, when eating it, I couldn't really taste the truffle. Nonetheless, it was great - but you should expect to taste to be tasting regular mac and cheese. For drinks, I had the Lemonie Annie (soju, lemon squeeze, simple syrup) and the Cute-tini (soju, muddled cucumbers, bitters). The Lemonie Annie tasted like watered down soju with some lemon juice. The Cute-tini was refreshing because of the cucumbers. I also tried my friends' Pure Jeremy (soju, muddled strawberries, Korean citrus-yuzu) - this one is fruity, but not overly sweet. You should come with a small group (especially if you're splitting the bill) because all of these tapas will add up quickly before you even notice it. I'm not sure if I'll be back, since the food was just okay, but the drinks were really cute. I think if they change the cash only rule at the bar, and add some new soju cocktails, they could attract a bigger crowd.

Loved it!

I absolutely loved this restaurant. We tried many small dishes, but the truffle mac & cheese and the edamame dumplings were stunning!

Good Korean Fusion but Expensive for what you get

By Emily K |

I heard so much about Thursday Kitchen and finally got the energy to wait in line before the restaurant opened at 6 pm on a Saturday night. It completely filled up on first round and our waiter seemed really keen on getting us out of there as soon as possible. Even when we just got seated, she asked us what we wanted to order and when we told her it was our first time, she immediately started to recommend dishes (but in a way as to try to hurry us). We ordered a few items and some drinks and said we would order more once we finished the stuff we ordered. She told us she had to take our menu away but if we needed it we could ask for it back but also said we should just order all at once since it was getting busy and the kitchen would be back logged. I found this a bit weird and made us feel even more rushed given that the style of food is "tapas" it would make sense that we could order just a tad bit more leisurely. The paella and eel tacos were delicious as was the soft shell crab but for the price I found the portions a bit small. Drinks however are amazing, they have the perfect sweetness for any people as the drinks go from least sweet to more sweet as you look down the menu. Overall, if you don't mind feeling really rushed then this place is good for the food and you don't mind classic NYC pricing. Just not sure if all the hype was worth it.

Korean food - Tapas style.

By Mduser |

Korean food - Tapas style. They have taken the strong flavored Korean food and given it a modern touch. Their dishes are Korean but creative. The spice has a little kick but is not overwhelming. Their drinks (cocktails) have an interesting concept. They are served in plastic bags with glowing ice cube in between. It is a popular place, so it has a wait. They do not take reservations.

Not worth 2 hours wait

By Philippe M |

The food is good, but nothing as exceptional to wait 2 hours. We had: - gnocchi: too sweet, not great - paella: the best of our choices, but I was hoping for the spanish style with socarrat (instead they must transfer the paella from a bigger pot to a small paella pan) - pork

Get There at 6!

By lilystine |

If you want to eat here, even on a week day, it’s best to arrive right at 6 pm. There will already be a line formed outside the door, but it’s worth the wait. We were a group of 5 girls and we ordered 6 appetizers to split. We were worried it wouldn’t be enough food but we were all satisfied at the end and did not feel hungry or overly full. The restaurant has great choices for vegetarians and meat lovers! We got the popcorn chicken, drunken noodles, pork, sweet potatoe, truffle Mac n cheese and plantains. None of us could pick a favorite because they were all so good. Will definitely be back!

Cool drinks, cool menu, but we got rude people serving us

By HanKelly |

We came to try the drinks we saw all over social media. Cool idea, went viral, so we figured stop in. We got there and tables were available and we sat down. We had already eaten for the night and figured we'd get a dessert to split and drinks. Well, the server mentioned that we each needed to order a food item. I kindly mentioned that we had already eaten dinner but we would be happy to order a second round of drinks in addition to our dessert. Seemed fair to us, spending more money than some of the food items. She sent over a manager that told us this was a kitchen not a bar. I said I totally understood, but in this case of our first visit we had already eaten and couldn't do food items, but I said I'd pay for a second food item just to be fair. He scoffed, said he would let it slide and next time order food. I get where he was coming from, but I conveyed that I fully understood, didn't know and would come eat again and order extra items to make it right. They just acted rude, like we were doing something wrong. My next point, because we don't often get treated like this is to mention that you've gone viral for drinks. Surely knowing that you figure maybe occasionally people will come in just for drinks. I wish they would embrace that, or if you come for those drinks mention they like you to buy food and they will next time. I can say with how they acted there's not a chance we would come back. Just so you guys know, we get it. You're a kitchen. But there's a much nicer way to get your point across.

Food delight

By Michael C |

Yet another of the great little restaurants in this area. Super busy the two times I have been. Korean cuisine and staff and well organised. The prices are fair for the highly flavoursome dishes. The dumplings are outstanding and the limited menu has plenty of star attractions.

Wonderful Korean tapas

By Innerhousewife |

Got here about 6:15 and got lucky-got a table right away. Very friendly service, greeted immediately upon entering the restaurant. Server explained the concept and was able to answer all questions. Had the avocado dish, which was my favorite-green vinaigrette, pickled relish and sour cream-very refreshing dish! The ugly potatoes with feta cheese and BBQ sauce was very good. Only miss for me was the Kimchi paella. I've only had paella in Spain, so don't remember if they cooked the shrimp with the shell on, but it made for a messy dish to eat. The dish lacked color and a little flavor, but not dinging them for that, just realized that when I go back, I'll try something else. Lots of options for diners to choose from. Small, but staff circulated often and worked well together to clear dishes and offer help to any diner. Worth a repeat trip!

Insanely Delicious A+++++

Tourist from New Orleans here. I have been lucky enough to eat at great places all over the world. This place is great. No reservations so go early or prepare to wait. The chicken was awesome. The drinks were even better. We stayed in NYC for 5 days and this was the best Place we ate. Food A+ Ambiance A Value A Staff A Location A Overall A

Best meal in a long time

By Izzysaunders |

The standout dishes: steak (unbelievably good), pork taco, mac and cheese. Great service, reasonable prices. GO THERE

Must visit

By Aleksandr R |

All of the food we tried was beyond delicious. The menu is small but every option is perfectly crafted. The workers are kind and attentive. Come here!!

Excellent korean food.

By Benjamin-traveler |

Good food. Fun korean spot, with great cocktail. Come early to score a table. Main concern is that they will ask you to vacate your table asap, so if you want to chat over cocktails after desserts have arrives, you’ll be out of luck. Oh… and get the truffle mac&cheese. Or maybe two.

A Good and Bad Mixed fusion neighborhood Eat

By DAdadNYC |

We go out for meals quite a bit and I do not want to cook everyday and love trying new cuisine. Thursday is a few block from our home and worth trying when looking at the menu. Let’s talk about the good: - attentive service - inform about the size of their dishes - Very Good “Steak” and “Kimchi Paella” no matter size and taste. Disappointing: - “Tuna Taco”: too spicy and cannot tell the quality of the raw tuna - “Popcorn Chicken” batter is slightly too thick and more Sesame Chicken rather than Korean Chicken… - “Lucky Noodle”: Even though meat and noodle balance is good, too much bottled “Garlic Blackbean” sauce as I even know the brand was using as I believed. It is a place for drinks and unique (not have to be good) food. The chef is talented but some dishes really money driven.

Great food, cool atmosphere

By RJTRAVELS87 |

Worth going out of your way for. Very very tasty food (especially enjoyed the crispy chicken, steak and the tuna) Cool ‘Capri Sun’ cocktails. This restaurant closes at 11 no orders after 1030. We were told to expect queue but turned up at 930 and got a table immediately Highly recommended.

Can’t wait to go back - Great food and service.

By livm |

Be patient. It is worth the wait. Epic food. Very reasonably priced and served by really good staff. Definitely going back soon!!

Go here!

By bethebel |

Staff is so friendly and knowledgeable, food was SO good, had sweet potato, avocado, popcorn chicken, empanadas and cauliflower rice, all highly recommended. Popcorn ice cream had really nice dark caramel on it. The only downside was no reservations and long wait times, but 45 min wait at 645p on fri was 100% worth it.

Korean Tapas

By Susie1028 |

Thursday Kitchen is a fun and affordable Korean tapas restaurant. They don't take reservations, so come early to avoid long waits (they open at 6pm for dinner). The food is unique and delicious, and the soju cocktails come in plastic pouches with straws thrust in, like debauched Capri Sun. Go!

Date Night Spot

By PRECIOUS TRAVELS |

Great food. Hip aesthetic. Delightful staff. This is such a cool Asian fusion spot that deserves your consideration. The menu ingredients are unique and taste fresh. Cool spot for couples, friends, or even a date!

Delicous food and drinks

By sianegerton |

We went here on a Friday night for dinner. Food was delicous. Small tapas dishes to share. They also had cool cocktails in glowing bags. Staff were great but be warned food comes out as its made so works best sharing. Perfect place for dinner before a night out. Good value too.

Okay

By Steve221B |

Went on a Thursday around 7. Had a 35 minute wait but no real place for waiting. Young, vibrant crowd (ie. noisy and crowded). Line of 3 to 4 people for a single bathroom all night (felt bad for the table next to the bathroom line). Two of us shared 5 plates and one drink for $100 and didn’t quite feel full. Food was not bad but was not spectacular. Left a little disappointed.

Love it!

By Mymilesandsmiles |

Thursday is a combination of Korean cooking with French and Spanish influences to serve tapas-style plates (such as paella with caramelized kimchi) at this East Village neighborhood spot. Glowing cocktails served in clear squeeze-pouches add to the playful vibe, making it clear why these quirky, highly Instagrammable Korean comfort dishes pack in the crowds. Among the edible highlights are Edamame truffle oil dumplings, kimchi paella with parmesan, gnocchi in a chili pepper sauce and eel tacos dressed in chipotle samjang salsa. Also worth mentioning the sweet potato fries with sriracha goat cheese, beet-cured salmon sushi and obviously the Alcoholic light-up Capri Suns (super cute!!) The drinks here are limited to wine, beer, sake, and soju, which, by the way, is what those alcoholic light-up Capri Suns are filled with (they are a little on the sweet side). The Soju cocktails arrive in plastic packages that conjure memories of Capri Sun juice drinks, amped up with booze and a glowing ice cube. Don’t miss the “Angry Sweet Potato” - Essentially sweet potato fries with an enjoyable Sriracha goat cheese dip. Order this over the Ugly Potato, which comes covered in BBQ sauce and American cheese – not your typical Korean dish but oh, so delicious! One of my favorites is the Crispy Korean fried chicken with a sweet and spicy sauce Service is friendly an very attentive no matter how busy they always are. Bottom line is if you’re looking for a restaurant that’s fun and affordable you might have found your match! Great date or girls night out spot!

I'll be dreaming of my meal for weeks

By Lackerfollow |

This truly deserves 5 stars. Food is imaginative and a mix of unexpected flavor combinations. We tried 6 dishes and loved ALL of them. Waitress was very helpful with the menu and attentive without being obtrusive. Lively environment is loud and not easy to talk over, but has a cozy and fun vibe. We can't wait to go back.

Ugliest shed ever

By Layne H |

The dining experience at Thursday Kitchen came across as pretentious. The fusion of Korean and Latin American flavors seemed forced and lacked authenticity. While the presentation of the dishes was visually appealing, the flavors didn't live up to the hype. The menu felt overcomplicated, with overly elaborate descriptions that overshadowed the actual taste. The portion sizes were small and the prices were inflated for what was ultimately an underwhelming culinary experience. Overall, Thursday Kitchen seemed more focused on style and trendiness rather than delivering truly exceptional and satisfying food.

Outstanding Food! Flavors

By Voyage737566 |

Outstanding Food! Flavors and ambiance! NO RESERVATIONS! Saturdays get there at 5:30 so you can get in with the 1st group! Tapas are to die for! Once inside you will enjoy nice lounge music! Servers are busy but will never make you feel rushed! All dishes are great! Ask for 2.5 portions per person or you will be hungry at the end! Everything is delicious! Steak, Mac and Cheese with truffles and duck empanadas are a NO miss! Draft Sapporo for $4.00 isn’t bad and bottles of wine are decent price. It is a gem I. The NYU area!

Most incredible food!

By Victoria00000000 |

I couldn’t recommend this place enough! From the minute we were seated near the kitchen to explaining the menu, drinks etc it was amazing. Friendly polite staff, wonderful atmosphere and very knowledgeable waiting staff. Every dish was explained and tasted amazing! We ordered 8 dishes between 4 and that is more than enough. Would have the cocktail in bags too! Fresh and fun! I have no problem recommending. Total bill for 4 with drinks was $190 including 20% tip.

So so good!

By pritesh3235 |

Just amazing! The staff are fantastic, the food tremendous and the drinks fun (have a try at their cocktails in a pouch!). Order the gnocchi, edemame dumplings and octopus! PROTIP: Try to reserve 1-2 days in advance but even if you cannot then the wait is still worth it.

Truffle Mac ‘n cheese!

By Judge_Smails-BR |

That’s all you need to order! We tried 5 other dishes and everything else was delicious too and we’ll definitely return here. Terrific pairings of flavors, spices and textures. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful as well. Well done!

Amazing experience!

By JAlex1992 |

Amazing experience in Thursday's kitchen! Went with some friends. Everything was top notch! The waitress was incredibly sweet, friendly and helpful when she greeted us. The food was appetizing, just delicious. Every dish we shared was unique. The glowing drinks were great too. Can't wait to return!

Worth The Wait

By Curtis Sheehan |

This wait time for us was about two hours but I the food is worth the wait. We had a party of four and each ordered something different with the exception of the Korean Popcorn Chicken (A Must Have!) The food came out pretty much right after the other. Also a great place for beer and sake.

A gem

By JulesVerne1 |

Odd, adventurous sort of Korean menu. No decor to speak of, just a fine kitchen. Small plates - they estimate two per person, but we got away with a little less. Some of the best dishes - soba noodles with tuna and a nice spicy sauce; angry sweet potatoes; out of this world Korean pancakes (crispy, well sauced); "popcorn ice cream" for dessert - full fat good grade vanilla ice cream, crunchy caramel. Extremely knowledgeable wait staff and good all around service.

Trendy, fun, and reasonably priced - worth the wait

By Elissa M |

Thursday Kitchen is one of my top recommendations in the city for anyone in their twenties or thirties looking for a restaurant with a cool ambience, good drinks, and tasty, unique dishes for under $50/person. The restaurant doesn't take reservations and gets pretty crowded at peak times, but the experience is worth the 1-2 hour wait. It's dimly lit, can get noisy, and the tables are packed tightly together, but the food is amazing and the light-up "adult capri sun" drinks are worth the visit alone. If you want to go during the peak times, you will undoubtedly have to wait. I recommend putting your name down and walking to one of the many bars in the area for a drink or two until you receive the text notifying you that your table is ready.

A gem!

By Mathieu M |

Absolutely delicious! The plates are so imaginative. Dumpling with parmesan...so good! Sumac on hummus...miam! We tried a total of 10 plates (for 5 adults) and with the possible exception of 1 plate that some found too spicy, everything was excellent. We particularly enjoyed the steak and avocado plates. I’ll definitely need to go back to try the rest of the menu!

Why Thursday?

By Dora_the_explorer |

My partner wanted to visit this restaurant, however I was unsure from looking at the menu, but we decided to go on a Thursday evening. It was busy when we arrived, therefore we recieved a message when a table was available. We ordered 6 dishes... I recommend the steak and chicken popcorn which where delicious. The food was amazing, service excellent and staff very attentive, with a fantastic atmosphere in the restaurant. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

Amazing food from chef Kay

By eeshehawi |

The entire experience at Thursday Kitchen was wonderful. Creative dishes, great service from all waiters, and nice setup. Great job young Chef Kay. Highly recommended 👍👍👍

Fantastic!

By Lysa L |

Do yourself a favor and visit this restaurant. Your stomach and your travel companions will thank you. Make this a splurge and order as many dishes as you can handle. You will not be disappointed!

Best of the best !! This is

By Jay “flower” child |

Best of the best !! This is one of the best restaurants in New York! I wish them all the best, health and success this year. I hope anyone reading this will give them a chance. They serve taps style Asian American fusion. Highlights are the juicy.. tender.. marinated steak, the edamame vegetarian dumplings, the clam Mac and cheese. The deserts are delightful too!

I Will Be Back!

By Sarah M |

I am SO glad I took a chance on this cute spot. The ambiance is very cozy and well decorated. Great for a date out. The dishes we tried were extremely tasty - I recommend the Avocado dish and the Cauliflower Fried Rice! I also couldn't resist trying the Lemonie Capri Thursday which was really good and made me feel kinda like a kid again (since it's almost like an adult Capri Sun). I actually chose this place because of how reasonably priced the drinks are. The staff is friendly and accommodating as well. We didn't have to wait on a line because we arrived right at 6PM when they open - Definitely plan to get there at 6PM or call ahead since this place fills up fast!

Amazing food!

By Alex L |

Quite unexpected, delightful and super tasty food. We were a group of 6 and tried out almost every dish, everything was delicious and there was a great atmosphere. There were great options for vegetarians, seafood and meat. Prices were very affordable as well, count with 8-10 USD per small dish. Count with longer waiting time if you come in at 7pm - we saw some people waiting 30-45min easily, so the earlier you arrive the better.

Thursday kitchen was recommended

By Billpar |

Thursday kitchen was recommended to us & what a wonderful find. The food & service was impeccable. The staff were always there to help without being in your face. I would rate it as the best restaurant we have been to in our 5 week stay in America. It is an Asian tapas bar & I can’t recommend it highly enough. An absolute delightful experience. Thank you to all concerned

A must in LES

By Gsabourin |

Came here with group of 5 people, we ordered every single item on rhe menu. Every dish was good, personal favorites: 1) usda prime filet - better than wagyu 2) seafood paella 3) truffle Mac 4) gnocchi - ordered twice As a frequent Michelin star diner, this restaurant deserves 1 star in my view. In addition, it was very inexpensive for everything we had - I’ll be back.

Great food!

By MartijnWokke |

Great food for a good price. It's always a bit hectic, and you always have to wait ~45 min before you receive a text message (so you can just wait in a nearby bar). But it's worth the wait! Changing menu so you can come back and try new things all the time.

glowing ice cubes for your drinks!! Plus great food!

By FoxClub |

Wow the food here was incredible - so unique and well prepared! We shared 10 small plates between 3 people (maybe too many?) and tried everything we could! The dishes were super unique but all harkened back to something familiar and good with a twist! ALSO - most important thing: there were glowing icecubes for the cocktails! We got one too many cocktails because the presentation was just so good!

Best pre birthday dinner

By HollyJ E |

Amazing find, we were in NYC last week and we had found Thursday Kitchen on Instagram. Most amazing food, it was super busy for 7pm so we knew it had to be good. We got a couple of the amazing cocktails and waited to be seated, but the lovely guy on the door said if we didnt mind sitting at the bar we could order from there. Best decision we made, we could watch the kitchen, the bartenders making drinks and the guy sat next to us was super friendly. The food was next level, and the waiter was so into the menu it was great he gave us some recommendations. Soft shell crab, paella and the Korean popcorn chicken is amazing. Cant recommend this place enough, if not only for the adult capri sun cocktails!

AMAZING! Korean-inspired Tapas!

By Stefan M |

An incredible and unique experience! Thursday Kitchen is one of the first restaurants to inspire me to leave a review. Each entree on the menu is original/unique and delicious. The cook is truly talented. The best way to describe this place for those who haven't been is Korean fusion tapas. Drinks are also delicious and served in a really cool bag with LED lights. I remember when I first stepped foot in the restaurant when it first opened, there were only a few people inside. Now, on a regular night, there's an hour or two hour wait...for good reason! Get there early, when it first opens...and enjoy some of the best tapas in Manhattan. I recommend the pork belly, soft shell crab, tofu dish, paella, mac and cheese, gnocci, edemame dumplings... :)

Fun times with friends and exceptional service!!

By cms5075 |

I actually ate here two weekends ago for my friend's birthday dinner and almost forgot to write a review, but had such a positive experience that I need to thank Thursday Kitchen! First off, they don't usually seat over 6 people I think, but we ended up having 8, and they were very accommodating and gracious. All the food and drinks (especially the capri-suns that light up!) were delicious and fun to share, I don't know if you can really go that wrong on the menu. At the end of the meal, the waiter accidentally spilled some sauce on my new pants while cleaning up - but the response from both him and the manager was above and beyond to make sure it was taken care of. Had a great time with friends and would definitely go back!

Korean Tapas for Brunch

By IlliniTrav |

We visited Thursday Kitchen for a terrific brunch. We arrived at noon and the place was empty, but soon began filling up. I wasn’t familiar with Korean food, but now I’m a fan. We shared several dishes, and they were all delicious. My favorite was the avocado with pickled radish and sour cream - a nice contrast of creamy and tart, pale green and bright pink. We also had the barbecued short rib served over fried rice and served with cauliflower and seaweed, a kale and smoked salmon salad, thinly sliced steak served over a frittata, and a generous serving of Korean popcorn chicken. All the dishes were small plates and easy to share. I wish that we had saved room for the popcorn ice cream with salted caramel - my son tasted it on an earlier visit and recommended it. I had hesitated about ordering the yuzu iced tea and decided against it. Our kind waiter brought me a complimentary one, served with a straw in a plastic pouch. It was delicious. I’ll make a point of returning here on our next visit to New York.

SO delicious!

By Lisiya12 |

My local friends insisted I MUST try this Korean gastropub so, even before I fully understood was a Korean gastropub was, I found myself standing in line with them 20 minutes before dinner service started. Good thing we arrived when we did: within 5 minutes, a queue of c.15 people had formed behind us. Once we got in, we ordered a slew plates. My favourites included the ugly potato, spicy noodles (oh those spicy noodles!), not so plain-tains, the meatballs and the truffle mac and cheese (no, I didn’t think it was very Korean either, but it was delish!). Everything was really creative, with well-balanced flavours. Service was very good, too, with friendly wait staff despite how crazy busy the place was. They also kept our water glasses full :) On our way out, the host informed us they have a system so you don’t need to stand in line the whole night: if you don’t get in the first seating, they’ll take your number and call/text when you’re table is ready. You then have 15 minutes to come back and claim it. They also only seat you when your whole party has arrived.

Just great

By oliwolz |

This was the best meal we had during our week in New York, and we have been to places a lot more expensive during that time. Loved the staff and the food - still dreaming of the Korean Gnocchi soup and the popcorn chicken. Will definitely come back when in New York ... this is a great place!

Our best food experience in NYC so far!

By Venture02258274703 |

My girlfriend and I moved to East Village a month ago and have been trying a lot of great places already, but the Thursday Kitchen is by far the best experience so far! The service was good, the drinks were good (they serve Sapporo beer, which is my all time favorite) and the food was absolutely amazing. We asked the waiter how many courses he would recommend which was five. So we ordered 5 different courses and the only thing that was disappointing was that we couldn’t eat more - every course were amazing. But especially the truffle Mac’n’cheese… my god it was good🤤 So much value for money! We ended up paying $175 (incl 20% tip) for five courses + a shared dessert, 4 beers and 3 cocktails. We were both totally full and tipsy when we left - what’s not to like! We are definitely getting back to try the rest of the courses and I would recommend everyone to go!

Be prepared for running commentary by wait staff on food

By groverbark |

Very good restaurant, great ingredients, & nicely prepared, but be ready for running commentary by wait staff on foods using expressions like: This is my personal favorite” “The chef went to FILL IN THE BLANK and discovered this recipe,” Downsides: NoNooononlinrline

Good food but nobody needs a smug rude waitress!

By toddasevedo |

The food was good. If I just wanted good food I would have made it myself and kept 3 of the $400 I spent here on dinner. We were sat as a table of six out on the patio in front of the restaurant. So far great. Then the waitress came over and the crap show began. First thing she says is “everyone should order at once as any additional food will take 45 minutes. Lie to turn over the table quicker. “What do you want to drink? I ask her about the IPA and she looks at me like I asked her to solve for pi. Stares at me without a smile or saying anything and that was as nice as she got. When the food was still on our table she comes over and says that people are waiting for the table and can we hurry up? I then ask if the tip is included and we get our first and last sarcastic smile. Do you want to be served by your entitled team age daughter? Why be like that to people and work in the restaurant business? Smug, and rude. Just what I want to experience when I am paying $400 for $50 worth of food. The food was good but you can get that anywhere.

Food delicious, Sophie brilliant!

By Mark M |

What a great meal we had here. The service from Sophie was personable and efficient. She's brilliant at what she does and we would love for her to visit England and work with us. The food was excellent. The steak so tender. The crab with wasabi was also a highlight. We loved the funky cocktails. The atmosphere was buzzy and a lively crowd of young New Yorkers made the atmosphere.

Best food ever!

By amberm2345 |

Amazing food & people. Unique experience. Very friendly Not expensive at all Soft shell crab, mac and cheese, crispy chicken were very tasty

A FUN WAY TO EAT KOREAN

By VarlaMoss |

This is a great Korean tapas place where you can share food with friends and try different types and styles of food and felt like it was overall a fun experience. I love the concept of this place and feel like it is so different from your traditional Korean joint in the city. I love the creativity that comes with each dish and how they merge the Spanish style food with Korean, ie. the kimchi paella which is my go to here! I also enjoyed how diverse the menu was and how the place took nonconventional ways to cook Korean food to make it their own. for example, they had this duck confit avocado that I would hardly call Korean but they made a way to marinate the Korean flavors like picked cucumbers into the mix to make it taste like a Korean dish but have a creative spin to it as well. I truly appreciated the presentation and the flavoring and the balance of everything here. I also felt like it was pretty affordable too and not like one of those snooty restaurants that you see here. I would enjoy coming back for a second tasting of their tapas and am excited to see this place grow.

KOREAN STAPLE!!!

Amazing, consistent, delicious. The food is out of the world and the service is perfect. We have tried multiples dishes and non of them were disappointing. They don’t take reservations so be prepared to wait at least 2 hours on weekends and 1 hr on weekdays but let me tell you, WORTH EVERY SINGLE SECOND OF WAITING. My fav restaurant in NYC:

Stumbled upon this place by chance and am so glad I did. Some of the most surprising and delicious food I have ever eaten, fantastic service and a lovely location. Would whole heartedly recommend to anyone!

Great place

Loved this place. Not sure it is exactly Korean food with a twist - I think the French and Spanish influences are stronger. But it was all so good. Favourites were the Lucky Noodles and Kimchi Paella. The popcorn ice cream was amazing too. It was super busy and had a great vibe. Great service too.

Awesome Korean-inspired tapas

By Tunaidi |

I'm such a fan! There seems to be a recent surge of Korean-inspired tapas-style restaurants. Thursday Kitchen does not disappoint. The tapas dishes overall are delicious, with good portions and reasonable prices. You can't go wrong with any of the menu items. Couldn't say anything bad about any of the 8 dishes we ordered. Definitely like to highlight the truffle mac & cheese, soft shell crab, and chicken though. I was also wow'ed by the matcha bread dessert. Super delicious. Service was the best I've received in ages. Despite their business, our cups of water were never empty. The staff was nice and attentive, and answered many questions for us.

Thursday Kitchen Review

My initial impression of this place was walking by on a week night and seeing it packed, so I took a mental picture. A few weeks later on a cold rainy night straight out of a Charles Dickens novel, the homie suggests we take try this spot for dinner. Easy call. They don't take reservations so we show up and are told the wait is a bout 20 minutes. We opt to wait outside under some cover outside of the restaurant. I for one marvel at the beautiful violence of rain. It fell heavily and effortlessly with no meaning or purpose but the fulfillment of its own nature, which was to fall and fall. To appreciate the sun you have to know what rain is. Anyways, they texted us when our table was ready. We sat down right next to a fire place in the back of the restaurant. I guess the thing here is to try a drink that they serve out of a capri sun pouch or something? Typically, I'll try anything once just for the culture but I looked around, and seeing other customers drinking out of little lit up plastic bags did not inspire me. I got the pinot. The homie pointed out that "I love that they serve wine out of glasses that they shouldn't be serving wine out of." Okay I shouldn't have put that in quotes as I was paraphrasing, but she said something like that. I'm not sure why but I really felt that in my soul. Glassware out of left field is such an elite touch. For food we got the edamame dumplings, steak, lucky noodles, soft shell crab, and popcorn chicken. I'd say the highlight of the meal was the popcorn chicken and edamame dumplings. I had never had edamame dumplings in my life, but the combination of soy sauce, rice vinegar, ginger, honey and chili sauce was just the right blend of sweet, savory and spicy. Overall, this place was very good but a bit pricey for the small portions. I'd say a bit overhyped, but if you come in with no expectations it would be phenomenal. Expectations are the root of all heartache. IG @jnov_ Tiktok @jnov__

Loved this place, amazing food!

This is a korean-style tapas restaurant with a great menu and excellent staff. We tried 8/9 of the menu options for a group of 5 people and each one was as delicious as the next. The dessert options were also interesting and tasty and everything came at a very reasonable price. Overall I couldn't recommend this place highly enough!

Delicious Asian fusion in fun NY atmosphere

In the East Village there is no shortage eclectic food choices but definitely don't miss out on this restaurant. We went for dinner and there was quite a wait, however they have a great system where they will text you when your table is almost ready and you will have 15 minutes to get there before they give away your table. We actually had a chance to go back to our apartment and rest a bit before being texted. They have fun clear Capri Sun-like drink packets with a glowing ice cube for alcoholic drinks. We had a non alcoholic drink that was delicious but no glowing ice cube. We could smell the truffle oil so strongly we walked in that I wondered how it would play out in the actual food. Turns out they have a truffle mac and cheese which we tried and absolutely loved, plus the truffle taste was not strong at all and complimented the dish very nicely. We also had a Korean seafood pancake with their home made ponzu sauce and their cripsy Korean boneless chicken wings which were both delicious. The noise level is high and atmosphere bustling but my husband and I could talk to one another just fine.

Outstanding food at very reasonable prices

Outstanding food at very reasonable prices! Loved the variety of small dishes. The dumplings and noodles are outstanding. Small restaurant, close seating and quite noisy. But a very trendy place. Expect a long wait!

Long Wait, Exciting Food

By Cooper W |

Average doesn't seem entirely fair: I'd say between Average and Very Good. Arrived just at 7PM on Friday night, was told 3 hours wait. WOOF! Wait ended up being like... 2.5 hours, which meant we were eating late. Not a fan. (Ok, disclaimer: I'm not a NYC resident.) Food was innovative and different. Ordered 10 dishes (they're tapas style) for 5. Could've realistically done fine with 8 or 9. My friends ordered their adult capri sun-style looking drinks which are cool and all but I asked and THE PLASTIC ISN'T RECYCLABLE. Come on!!! Feedback was drinks were strong and sweet. I think we all enjoyed the food, but it wasn't anything so memorable that I would ever want to come back. Service was great, friendly. Also, something to note: a couple of us had some pretty mad stomachs I think because of the spice. If you have a sensitive stomach also, I'm not sure if the richness and spice will sit well. Just something to consider.

Gourmet in a small place

By Bas-Si10 |

We liked this place so much at lunch that we took the family back for dinner. Excellent food, prepared and plated wonderfully. We thought that we were done ordering, but then a waitress walked by our table with the pork cutlet curry... one sniff wax enough to make us order that also. Duck confit empanadas, crab ravioli, and etc. All delicious. Nice wine list. Attentive service. But get there early. It's a small space and during the lunch and dinner hours, a long wait is common. But worth it!

Best Korean Tapas

By Gooki |

This place is amazing. They open from 6pm to 10 pm. If you want to get in get there early and wait in line. It is worth it. My favorite tapas were: the truffle Mac and cheese and the steak w grits. Everything else was fantastic. The place is a small, but cool place. They serve this glowing drinks that are great and fun.
