Good experience!

Good service, food and venue. We shared a few dishes and were satisfied. Absolutely a recommendation.

Great Spanish place in NYC

By Traveling Lama |

Love the octopus plate. It looks a little fancy but actually is a pretty casual style. Everyone was very friendly. Not the best happy hour. For more reviews and pics from trips follow us on Instagram at @travelinglamas

This new Spanish restaurant is great and will be very busy soon.

By Renee B |

We went to Tomino late one evening and were delighted to meet the owner. The menu is simple, but does not miss on anything. Our server helped us choose a good selection of small plates to share. He matched a couple of crisp white wines that we drank with the dishes. We loved the small Spanish sausages on skewers that were delivered flaming in a cast iron dish. The potato dish was delicious with just the right amount of cheese. The menu will change often with the season so ask for help to decide what sounds good. Be sure to order a plate of the thin sliced Spanish ham, presented with small toast on the side. For sure it will always be on the top of the menu. The counter seating is perfect if you are dining alone as so many of us do while traveling for work. We will go back!

Good selection of tapas with

By Vic |

Good selection of tapas with only 2 choices of entrees, which is typical in Spain with daily specials. Service was great food quality was very good with typical Spanish flavours you would expect in Spain. Bar has a variety of Gin style drinks that are quite delicious. They offer a wide selection of Spanish wines as well.

Great Spanish food

By Juan Peschiera |

Best Spanish food I ever had. Authentic Galician seafood Definitely will go back. Service was perfect and the noise level was down and good

A little piece of Galicia in Little Italy

By Pimlicogirl |

Having traveled to Galicia a couple of times, I am always on the lookout for Galician cuisine here in the States - how happy I was to find out that there was a Galician restaurant downtown in NYC! The wine list is lovely, the food was very, very good - the only disappointing dish was the most dramatic one: choirzo al infierno, which arrives on fire. It wasn't the best chorizo I've had and didn't quite measure up to the other dishes. The croquetas were very good and the pulpo was excellent (as it had better be!). Dessert was yummy as well. All in all, a restaurant I definitely want to return to.

Best Spanish Restaurant in NYC

Magnificent Spanish restaurant in Litle Italy with very good cuisine, very pleasant atmosphere and good wine list. Very attentive and family staff

Spain in New York

By Domi |

Had a delicious launch at Tomino in July 2019 - good selection of tapas, that does taste authentic. Very lovely staff - majority of which is Spanish. Spanish music, Spanish vibes - made me want to go back to Spain as soon as I can. Bar inside, which is a good option if you are travelling on your own.

It fulfilled my expectations

By Sra. L |

Gorgeous decor and such a comfortable chair! Very busy but I got the perfect table. Every single item that I ordered from the menu was as wonderful as I expected. Don't miss the pulpo á ferra. Empanadillas were also great and the chorizo is a dream. Come with plenty of time.

Best Spanish food in NYC hands down

By Lwiggy V |

Having been to Spain this year and knowing first hand many of Spanish foods, made me very skeptic about finding a good Spanish food outside 'Madre Patria'. Tomiño was definitively an exception. Everything that we had was excellent. My family probably had 10 different tapas. Not a single one disappointed us. Since we were three (3) the server make arrangements to modify the amount of tapas as needed to make sure we grab at least a bite of each of them. This was very nice and not expected. The staff and the owners were beyond friendly and professional as we crash into this place with no reservations however; they make arrangements to seat us rapidly. Actually one of the best indication is that it was full of Spaniards eating there. Furthermore, I got recommendations where to visit Spain next time I go Europe. I want to go back already.

Super service and good food

By Latoya519 |

The food and service were excellent at Tomino. The staff knew the menu well and gave excellent suggestions. The sardines are a must as was the prosciutto. The tables were a bit tight but not surprising in a tapas establishment in such busy area. We would visit again.

Great location

By Lisa P |

I ate here with my family a few months ago for a small reunion. Although the atmosphere was intimate but at the same time lively, we felt the portion sizes were a bit small even for Tapas. When we asked our waiter about portion sizes, he assured us that what we ordered would be enough. It was not and we all left feeling very disappointed. We also felt that for the price, they could serve just a bit more to justify spending so much. I wouldn’t spend your money here. Just my humble opinion.

Very good SPANISH FOOD

By seeker54 |

Definitely you have to make reservation specially over the weekend it is really crowded even though it is big enough The food and wine are exquisite !! We order 4 dishes plus entree to share and each on e we tasted was better than the one before ! I highly recommend this place to have a fun and nice dinner !!! I only found it a little bit noisy because Latin people talks too loud ! The music and service are very good It’s a bit pricy but nothing to be worried about Love to come back !!!

Excellent service with attention to detail.

By Billy A |

We drove down from Boston for the weekend to celebrate a friend's birthday. I found this restaurant on this app, and have no regrets on choosing it. All of us (party of 7) had a great time, and enjoyed the food and cocktails. I only wish they would have Moritz in their beer menu (manager says they are working on it with the vendor). But Estrella does the work too.Try the costillas de cordero, and the callos.

Underwhelming

By critiquer862 |

We chose this restaurant because of the many positive reviews on Trip Advisor. In our reservation, we asked for a (relatively) quiet table. Instead we were seated near a large, raucous group that was evidently celebrating something or other. When we said we'd need to leave because we wouldn't be able to hear one another, we were relocated to a high-top table at the front, which was an improvement noise-wise. However, the server had his sleeve over (i.e., touching) the middle of the bread basket when he brought it. I ordered croquettes, which were bland and uninteresting. A second tapas of chicken kabobs featured too-dry meat. Overall, a disappointment.

Authentic Spanish Tapas!

By Hank F |

It’s hard to find authentic Spanish tapas in the States but this place delivers! Fantastic cured meats, delicious pulpo de Gallegos, true Valdeon cheese, a solid Spanish wine list covering many regions plus excellent service from Fernando and his team all made for an excellent dining experience reminiscent of nights in Madrid and Seville. I highly recommend this restaurant and will return soon!

Great dining with friends

By Anoniemnijmegen |

Great fresh tapas, for gist lovers and for non fish lovers, but nothing compares to the deserts. Tart were absolutely fantastic!

Fantastic Feast

By tywo |

Invited to a friends’ golden anniversary at this Spanish place in the middle of Chinatown and Little Italy, I found a smallish, narrow restaurant with wonderful food. Top notch ingredients with delicious seasoning delighted the foodies. Tapas sampled included ham croquettes, fish croquettes, octopus, pork/potato/egg, chicken/chorizo in a thin crepe sandwich — all to be recommended. Entrees were a very flavorful and tender beef plus a lobster and fish paella. The latter was interesting in that it was moist like risotto, not dry. Desserts were equally great. At dinner, the noise level was a bit much for me but not overwhelming. The service was just right, there when needed and patient with questions.

Great Spanish food & lovely bar

By William G |

Ok, this is going to be an over-the-top review. A friend took me to Tomiño's for drinks and early supper, and it was wonderful. The setting, the cool atmosphere, the friendly service, the wine and drink options, the tapas, the "tablas", the freshness of the food, and the tasty flavors. I loved every single aspect of our experience. It was the perfect shelter from the smoldering heat outside. We opted to have a bottle of a lovely Albariño wine that, chilled, went down perfectly as we shared tapas and a lovely tabla ("board") La Española, and gazpacho. Try the Galician wines, especially the whites. We had reserved a table, but I joined my friend at the bar for a drink when I arrived, and we felt so at ease there, and the barman and the staff were so welcoming and charming, that we ended staying at the bar for the whole supper. This was early (5pm) on a Wednesday in the dead of summer; my friend tells me that it can get much more crowded. I can't wait to go back!!

Great Spanish tapas

By Harry Papasotiriou |

Excellent food, great service, wonderful atmosphere. Not for large groups, it works best with two to six people. It has both a bar and a restaurant section.

Excellent

By enrique c |

Excellent, food, treatment, service and the price for New York, well acceptable, as if we were in Galicia, a shame that the dining room does not have exterior views to put some buts.

Wonderful Change of Pace

By Lisamarie C |

We have eaten here 4 or 5 times .. usually at the bar.. and we are never disappointed. The tapas are so flavorful, and the service is always friendly and attentive. My husband and I usually order 4 tapas to share, and ask them to serve 2 at a time, and it always works perfectly. Also, the spicy margarita is wonderful!!

Great food and wine!

By anovogar |

Amazing food, beer and wine. Also great happy hour with a free “tapa”. I recommend ordering either albariño or 1906 beer

Tomino -- Experience before the Camino de Santiago

By ArtsyGalBaltimore |

Traveling to Spain this summer and wanted to try "authentic" Spanish food. Made a reservation for 7:00 and it was jammed, so we had a short wait. Four tapas were enough for two seniors with dessert: Pulpo a Feira (generous serving of large pieces), heuvos rotos con zoura, pinchos mournos de pollo, churrasco con chimichurri; for dessert tarts de Santiago. There is a long, crowded bar area with table seating in the back. Tables are crowded and with the hustle and bustle of its very youthful diners, it is difficult to have a conversation. Wine: Sin palabras '17 and Protos Tinto Fino '16.

I felt like I was in Spain

By TonyMoustache |

We were a party of three and we started with cured meats and cheeses, octopus, tripe, sardines and the fish pate` special. All were excellent! My only negative comment would be that there should have been more tripe. The dish had plenty of chick peas and chorizo but needed more tripe. We finished with the Lobster and monkfish with bomba rice. This was an amazing dish and refreshingly different from the usual paella. The wine list was very good with a wide range of prices. The staff was attentive and professional. if you like "authentic" Spanish cuisine this is the place for you. I will definitely be back.

A Culinary Visit to Spain

By devotedtraveler_62 |

We are frequent diners at the sister restaurant of the owners, Tre Colori, in the Theatre District, so when we were spending a few days downtown, we decided to try their new restaurant. We were glad we did. The food, service and ambience are excellent. One of the owners, Phil Gonzalez, was working the night we went. He took time with us and the other diners to explain the menu which is a very unique menu. He also made sure that everyone's dining experience was great. The food is authentically Spanish food as reflected in the name of the restaurant. There are many varieties of tapas that you can mix and match. Phil helped us to pick 3 that went together so well. Then we shared an entree of Barcalo cod (hope I spelled that right) that was cooked in a oven that uses charcoal with extreme heat that cooked the cod to perfection. It is hard to choose a dessert from the unique choices. I picked the crepes which were very good. It is also a good place to go if you want something light, such as tapas. Their wine list was varied. We chose a Spanish Rose that we really enjoyed. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for a different eating experience. You won't be disappointed.

Relaxed dinner with well tasting food, and good Wine. Good service.

By Helle N |

Really nice tapas, in a relaxed atmosphere. Good service and advice about the Wine, and well tasting food. Can only be recommended for a relaxed dinner

Discover great & unique style of Spanish cuisine

By Chip C |

This place is a gem. The food is unusual and very well prepared. The tortilla and the tomahawk ribeye are A+. The wine list is full of great Galician wines and the service is terrific.

Great host, meal and service!

By Eddie Zoolander |

We went to Tomino in our way back from a doctors visit and we wanted something healthy. We got to the front and the host greeted us outside and brought us in. Don’t remember his name but he seemed like he was from a foreign country, very nice, polite , had an accent and friendly . :) We had a lobster bisque for appetizer and it was really delicious and the food was enough for. We decided to try their seafood platter and it was mmmmm nmmmmm good!! We were so full we could eat the rest of our meal, so we took it home. We would have given 5 stars if the restaurant was more warm and toasty, but we still enjoyed being there! Would definitely recommend it to others.

Tasty Food

By celia_madrid22 |

This restaurant is pretty good. The food was delicious. We tried the presa Iberica, costillas al cordero, croquetas, piquillos rellenos de bacalao, churrasco con chimichurri and everything was so good. The waiter was so professional and very nice. We will come back. My only recommendation will be a kid menu. That will be amazing.

Great place

By Kat |

This restaurant was right next to our hotel and we ended up visiting it 3 times during our 1 week stay in NYC (once for dinner and twice for drinks and a small bite to eat during the daytime). The main thing that stood out to us was how welcoming the staff were. We also enjoyed the relaxed vibe of the restaurant. The food was really tasty and I had the best dessert I've ever had here. I can't remember its name but I've uploaded a picture :)

Great food, bad table

By JACSUK |

This is our second time visiting Tomino. It was a Saturday and it was buussyyyy! I booked the table a month ahead for my husbands birthday and was disappointed to see that it was opposite the bar, even though it was a good sized booth, with seats on three sides. That was not the issue as it turned out..... We had some good drinks and started to work through some of the excellent tapas. We realised that women were starting to congregate at the side of our table, and before long we had quite the audience...turns out there is only one toilet and the line went straight next to our table (on the side with no seating) Bored ladies were just watching us eat - felt like we had several new friends, and should've invited them to taste the food! Obviously it wasn't their fault - there should've been more than one toilet. Axel was our server, and was very apologetic, could not have been a nicer guy. So thank you very much to him. When you book a month ahead, and state that it's a birthday celebration, I don't believe you should be given the worst table in the house. I had rung a few a few days before with a question not related to tables, the hostess misheard me and said "all I've got is a table in front of the bar"..... I didn't realise that was obviously an issue. Food is great, staff are great too. Just make sure you don't get that table when you book! We will be back however.

Authentic Galician food in New York. Cold Estrella. Feels like A Coruna!

By DavidHoyas88 |

We took our friends from A Coruna, Spain here for a reunion dinner. They were very impressed. Best new Spanish restaurant in Manhattan. Highly recommend. Make a reservation!

Rude egotistical bartender

By Daniel Holmes |

I visited Tomino Galaccia yesterday as I was in Little Italy, NY for the San Genero Festival. I was seated at the bar enjoying a drink, when I witnessed the barback inadvertently shatter a glass. He happened to have shattered the glass over a tray of serving cups. The logical thing to do would be to rinse out the cups as a precaution. The bartender (who may not have seen the glass shattering incident) grabbed one of the glasses on the tray and began to make a drink. I kindly suggested that maybe he should rinse the glass out as there may be tiny fragments inside and someone who drinks it could get cut. He resonds,"Don't mess with the bartender". I was perplexed by this response as I thought I was being helpful. I asked,"What are you talking about?" He repeated, "Don't mess with the bartender". I approached the general manager to tell him what occurred and he immediately processed my bill and gave it to me. I asked, "You're asking me to leave because I warned the bartender about a possible health related issue?" The general manager replied, " Yes, because I believe him, not you". I responded, "You should believe your camera, it's facing the exact spot where the incident occurred". With that, I paid my tab and left. It would have cost zero dollars and zero cents to rinse the glass out but his ego decided it was far more important to talk down to a paying customer. Then the general manager backs his behavior. I will never go there again!!!!

You need to come here.

By Jennifer G |

We stopped for a glass of wine and a snack. Our server, Carlos, was truly outstanding and suggested a wine that was exactly what we liked. We had the combination cheese and meat plate and it was delicious. Beautiful surroundings, great staff, great everything.

Worst Lunch Ever

By Flower_bee3 |

have been coming to Tomiño for years and always been pleased by terrific food and service. Today, we had the worst lunch experience ever. All the waiters are new. Our waiter Juan H is the worst. When our waiter came over, I quickly ordered a bottle of Raventos cava, ham croquetas, tortilla betanzos and pulpo. After 10 minutes, Juan came with our cava, uncorked and served it. It was terribly warm. I told him it needed chilling. His response “oh I knew I had to tell you but I forgot” Really!!! You tell me this after you uncork and serve it??? Serving warm cava in an authentic spanish restaurant like Tomiño is a capital offense. I told him to keep on ice. He served the cava after 15 minutes and it was still warm, I had to put ice in it. Our waiter seem undisturbed by this. We waited about 25 minutes without food. Croquettes take 2 minutes to prepare yet I saw several tomahawk steaks come out of the kitchen. Our waiter kept walking around, seeing us without food but seemed undisturbed. I told him “no food has come to our table”. He looked surprised. Came back 5 minutes later to apologize blaming it on the printer. Food came but was cold. 2 hours later we paid the check and left. Never coming back.

Great place for tapas

By LeftWingExtremist |

Really excellent place - nice wine list with lots by the glass, simple, authentic menu and charming staff. Fantastic atmosphere with hubbub of conversation all around. Incidentally, we went with two kids on a Friday night at 9pm and I was slightly anxious that we may not have been a cherry pick - but we really couldn’t have been made to feel more welcome. Highly recommended.

Best in NYC in my opinion.

By Alan J |

We keep coming back for more. Lovely room, friendly staff, great atmosphere and the food is fantastic. Love the pulpo, churrasco con chimichurri, conservas board but everything else we have had has been wonderful. Also, Happy Hour pinchos are very tasty too. Good wine and beer selection. Really a great find.

Great Mixtas platter, and a great Manhattan cocktail!

By Wim |

Try the Mixtas platter with a lovely (small) mix of cheeses and cured meat. Amazing cocktails (we had the Perfect Manhattan) and real authentic Spanish atmosphere and staff! Lovely, both inside & outside

Spain in New York

By Frank W. |

I didn't need to go to Spain to experience amazing food from Spain. In fact, I believe it is better than when I went to the actual Spain. Ole!

Serviceable Spanish but nothing special

By TedLachmansingh |

We were excited to try this place given the many positive reviews. Based on the guidance we stuck to the tapas and tried Padron Peppers (good), clams stew (decent but a wee bit salty), the Langostines a la planacha (best of the dishes) and the crispy squid (average) as well as the almond cake (good). The overall experience was OK but not different nor was any dish memorable more than other Spanish restaurants in any other big cities around the world...and service was OK but indifferent.

Wow! So flavorful, and unique. Best octopus I ever had!

By BigBobBritton |

This place rocked. We had a nice bottle of wine which our server (who was friendly, helpful and polite to the tee) helped us pick out. Pair that with the amazing dishes we enjoyed and BAM! that's a good night out. I love Tapas, and this place does it right.

We were in NY for a week and

By Deanne |

We were in NY for a week and discovered Tomino after reading so many good reviews. It’s on the edge of Chinatown and Soho, really easy to get to. The large restaurant has a lovely long bar where you can eat or just drink and the decor of the whole place is really classy and well thought out. The main restaurant area is in the rear half. The service was excellent both times and the food was so good we returned a second time to have our last night in NY here. The food is authentic upmarket Spanish tapas but you only need 3-4 dishes max per couple. I would particularly recommend the croquets, ribs and flambé chorizo. They had many excellent fish dishes too. Couldn’t recommend this restaurant enough, you have to try it, not at all surprised it has won Michelin awards.

Go elsewhere

By Sybil S |

This is the first tapas place I've been to I didn't like. Food was mediocre and service was truly inadequate. We waited about 20 minutes to have our drink order taken. Even more unusual was I left something uneaten as it was not at all tasty.

Great authentic tapas

By Mchughs |

A late lunch on arrival in Manhattan a little bit of Spain set in the middle of Little Italy. Great ambience, food, drinks and service. Can't fault it. Croquetas, Empanadillas and Churrasco all very tasty washed down with a good selection of Spanish beers and wines. Will be back!

Nice quiet restaurant with great menu!!

By SMN |

Great menu, food was fresh and tasty, great price range, attentive staff!! Had a lobster and rice for dinner and warm mushroom salad, very tasty, chicken pasta was great as well!

Excellent

Excellent quality of food and service. Authentic dishes prepared superbly. Great drinks. Will definitely be back.

Great tapas place with beautiful bar and unique dishes

By CarlaEb |

No question that the food is what makes this place an amazing choice for lunch or dinner but everything else around it is also very nice! The bar is beautiful and their wine list is quite good - fair prices and good wines. The main dinning room is very charming with a ceiling window that floods the place with natural light. Service was good - although our food took a little too long to be served compared to other tables around us. The setas - mushrooms- were probably the most unexpected surprise: it’s delish!

Good Food

By CP |

Definitely make a reservation. We did not have a reservation but sat at the counter which was perfectly fine for a party of 2. the Octopus (Pulpo A Feira) was really good. must try. We shared the Arroz Caldoso con Bogavante, it's the almost equivalent of paella but a bit more soupy so the rice was a bit mushier. Flavor was good but I think I prefer a good paella. This dish is enough food for probably 3 or 4 ppl. Waiter was very nice, the service was pretty quick. The hostess, when we went on a Saturday early evening, was not so friendly but not overly rude neither.

High quality tapas dining experience.

By Waterloonie |

Our family of four had a sensational evening of totally delicious tapas courses. Service is efficient, anticipatory and professional. Highly recommended dining experience in Soho.

Galician Brunch

By Manuel Fontoira |

Looking for Little Italy We seen the Estrella Galicia Sign! As Galician I am had to stop here! The Service was outstanding Carlos and Wilson make our brunch remarkable! Tortilla de Betanzos really good when paired with 1906!

Excellent tapas

By kim j |

Isn't it ironic, don't you think...The best spanish restaurant in "little Italy" Tasty tapas with meat, fish and vegtables. The croquettes is highly recomended. The kids enjoyed the spanish spare ribs and the tasty chicken. A loaded wine list of good spanish wines. If your a fan of spanish cousine this spot is not to be missed.

Thankful to friend who recommended

By Parallel 40 |

We got to Spain every single year and are very familiar with its cuisine. I can attest that Tomino's is excellent. All the tapas we had, tortilla, jamon, pan con tomate, grilled sardines, eggs with chorizo; a chorizo skewer presented flaming, were perfect. As was the attentive serve, sleek but warm decor. We are New Yorkers and delighted with this find. Plan to return ASAP.

Some of the best Spanish food outside Spain

By Miguel B |

Spain is my favourite food country. Having been to Spain multiple times, and having a famous TV chef as a host once, made me very skeptic about having Spanish food outside Spain. Tomiño was an exception. Galician food at it’s best Everything we had was excellent. We were 5 and probably had 10 different tapas. Not a single one disappointed us. The staff and the owners were beyond friendly and professional. Best indication is that it was full of Spaniards eating there and it wasn’t because of morriña. Next time I’m in NY, I’m going back for more.

Very good ..!

By Sempreverde! |

I found this restaurant by chance on Tripadvisor looking in the Soho area, and I must say that after an initial negative feeling due to the fact that they made me sit at the bar counter, I ate well, plentiful and quality. Excellent octopus, sardines, seafood salad particular but good. Fast service and honest account. I must say that sitting at the bar counter also contributes to making new acquaintances.... A Chinese gentleman sitting nearby asked me to taste the sardines!

Delicious food - highly recommend!

By Treeway |

We had a great time at Tomiño. The food was excellent, particularly the pulpo which was so good we ordered a second portion! Desserts were great too. Brilliant service and the restaurant had good vibe (busy but we could hear ourselves speak). We really enjoyed ourselves and would highly recommend.

Truly Outstanding Dining Experience

By swilz55 |

Truly outstanding dining experience! Authentic Spanish food with a very attentive and helpful waitstaff. The ribs, mushroom dish and lamb chops were incredible. Great wine list. So glad we found this gem!

Very Good Experience

By jesjas |

Visited on a bustling Saturday evening. We arrived a few minutes early and had drinks at the bar - there was no rushing us to our table. Once seated we ordered 6 dishes and 2 desserts all of which were very good. The service was friendly and professional, and the food was reasonably priced. Would definitely visit again.

Day out in NYC

By SoniaValesRotondi |

As much as i appreciate a good home cooked Spanish meal. Tomiño comes closest to hone cooked Spanish meal that i have had (both in Spain & USA ) Great customer service, great atmosphere & true Spanish tapas. If you are looking for true Spanish cuisine this is the place to go!

Get the octopus and the huevos rotos con zorza

By Melanie T |

My friends had been raving about this place for a while, so we decided to head on over for dinner there on a Thursday night. I made a 6 pm reservation with Open Table. We got there a bit early and the place was pretty empty, including the bar area (by the way, happy hour is only at the bar). Halfway through our meal is when the restaurant started filling up. We ordered a bottle of vino, and six different tapas to share: Chorizos al Infierno - this had a bit too much smoky flavor for me, probably because it was literally served to us on fire. It's a very nice presentation though Churrasco con Chimichurri (charcoal grilled Iberian baby-back ribs, chimichurri) - there wasn't much meat on this but the flavor was great. I especially liked the tartness of the chimichurri Fritura de Chipirón (crispy baby squid, stringed zucchini & potato, basil alioli) - the crispy squid was very good. I've never had a basil alioli before so it was a nice change of pace from the typical garlic aliolis you would get. The zucchini was a bit oily. Mixta (half cured meats/half cheese) - I remember there being chorizo and jamon but I can't remember anything else. Either way, you really cannot go wrong with a meat and cheese board. Huevos Rotos con Zorza (spiced-pork loin, crispy potatoes & free-range eggs) - this was my favorite dish of the night. It felt more like a brunch dish, but I'm definitely not complaining about that. What's not to like? Pork? Good. Crispy potatoes? Good. Eggs? Good! It is a tad on the saltier side though. I almost wish there were more potatoes instead of pork. Pulpo a Fiera (sea salt, extra virgin olive oil, pimentón) - this was another favorite of the night. The octopus was nice and tender, and was not overly salty like most of the other dishes we had. Overall, I'd say I have mixed feelings about this place. I really loved half of the dishes but the other half was kind of just meh. I would probably only come back if I was in the area, it's during happy hour, and order a few select dishes as a snack.

Special place in NY!!!

By Anasonika |

If you’re walking around soho and little italy, you can miss this place.Try the pulpo a feira and you’ll be happy since you eat it all!!!

Tapas together

By Coastal253968 |

We booked for a large family with multiple generations. We all loved the food and will probably dream of the scallops! (And the lamb chops) Thank you to our waiter for great suggestions on what to order and how much for our group size. It was louder than the 80 year old would have liked, but most things would be! Everyone else was fine and we have lively conversations! We had 3 gluten free people and they all ate well. Spot on service.

Fresh, crispy and nice

By Helenejparis |

We arrived by chance in this little gem during a very busy day in little Italy. It was our best value meal in New York! The food was fresh, well cooked and well presented. Wine was reasonable and tasty. Service was attentive and nice. Bill reasonable for this quality (80USD for 2, 20% tip included). Highly recommended !

Simply Amazing!

By WFR |

I went with a friend who has been bragging about this place; I was not sure of what to expect. I was totally blown away by the exquisite food, the most authentic I have had in years in New York, and the prompt and efficient service. Tried a few dishes and they were all fantastic. During happy hour, you get a tapa with each drink ordered, just like in Spain! This will become my new spot!

Xcellent cuisine

Excellent service, good food and exquisite cleanliness. Recommended 100/100 and very well maintained establishment in every detail

Authentic Spanish Tapas

By Linda A |

Visiting this tiny downtown spot was like a quick trip to the north of Spain. The flavors were the most authentic I have enjoyed on this side of the Atlantic. The creamy ham and the equally delicious shellfish croquetas were just delicious - crunchy and flavorful. The scallops were spectacular - very large local, fresh scallops with a wonderful sauce and served in the shell. I loved the black rice with red snapper and tiny calamar rings - full of flavor! in this country I have never my favorite kind of Spanish potato omelet (tortilla) - soft, runny and warm rather than cold and dry, as it is usually served here. The flamed chorizos were tasty but just 6 little sausages was far too small a portion for the price. Loved the Spanish wine selection.

Great restaurant!

By IndyMatt00 |

I was looking for a good quality Spanish restaurant and Tomino did not disappoint! Everyone was very friendly and the food was superb! The chef came to ensure that I was enjoying the food. The desserts are decadent! It is in a great neighborhood and you can stroll the streets after having your meal. The service was top notch and they treat you like you are part of the family. You will not be disappointed!

Delicious food, beautiful setting to spend a Saturday afternoon eating comida with your family and friends. The service was above and beyond! Will be back with my family from Spain!

The best Spanish food

By richard c |

Excellent meals and service. Continental cooking in the heart of Manhattan. Great variety of authentic Spanish dishes.

So many Spanish diners, it must be good!

By Robyn K |

We enjoyed Tomino so much we ate here 2 nights in a row! As did the Dutch-Mexican couple we sat alongside and befriended on our first night. The better tables are at the front of the restaurant with a view of the street. The service is efficient, warm and attentive without being 'in your face'. Loved the stuffed peppers and the squid with Zuchini - washed down with delicious pink Rioja.

I'm talking FAST food...

By JasonBrandtLewis |

Tapas bars are all about "small bites." The food here -- at least what my wife and I had -- was delicious, and the wine list is all Spanish (great), a little on the small side (that's fine), and downright skimpy regarding certain areas of Spain (uh, OK). Now, unlike in Spain, where one might order a tapa and a glass of wine...decide that you want another tapa, etc., etc., here -- in the States -- you order everything you want at once (except dessert). Fine. That's common practice in the US. But we weren't expecting it to all ARRIVE at once! The food came out of the kitchen so quickly that we felt not just rushed, but there wasn't really room on the table for all the dishes at once. And it wasn't like they needed to turn the table because people were waiting...the place was not even half full when we arrived for dinner. Food: 5-stars; service: 3. Total: 4.

Extremely good food. One of the best restaurants in NYC for sure. Brought me back to my homeland Galicia. Thanks for that...

Finally, quality Spanish food in NYC!

The best Spanish food in NYC! Authentic Galician dishes with a sophisticated presentation. Leave room for dessert and try the “Bica”. Can’t wait to go back!

Fantastic Happy Hour and Service

By Susie O |

We stopped in for Happy Hour and had amazing cocktails. My husband enjoyed a spicy margarita and I enjoyed their signature gin and tonic. A hostess at another restaurant recommended this restaurant, I think that says it all. The bartenders name was not on the receipt but he was awesome and took great pride in crafting our drinks. He even put a small rose on the fruit floating in the margarita. He also brought us a Cristini with cheese and jam.

A lovely place for sharing plates

By Abyeong |

Ambience was good and tapas were amazing. Service was prompt though the servers can use a little more smiles. Maybe it’s just New York or maybe because we are Asians. The online reservation was easy. Portions were just nice for sharing. We had the grilled octopus and pimentos were done perfectly. The baby back ribs and sausage platter was great too. Only the seasonal vegetable which were cauliflower and brocolli were a little bland.

Loved it!

By saira998 |

One of the best dining experiences in a Spanish cuisine restaurant in Manhattan. Nice environment, great vibe, good service -all combine with amazing food!!! In the list to visit again!

Great tapas! Great wine!

By cherylbrooklyn |

We went for an early dinner on Super Bowl night and the restaurant was very lively. Our waitperson was lovely, very helpful and knowledgeable about wine recommendations. For 3 of us, we ordered 11 dishes which was just the right amount. We had lamb chops, empanadillas, a beautiful endive/citrus salad, grilled sardines, clams marinere, grilled langostinos and shrimp and a delicious mushroom dish. We had a delicious Albarino to start, followed by a splurge red wine which tasted like a rich Bordeaux. Service was very good, with bread and olive oil served. An interesting find in Little Italy!

Best authentic spanish food

By rs2bbs |

Had a fun and relaxing dinner with my husband. We love spanish food and had been in Spain many times to appreciate the authentic flavors. Tomiño took us back to the north of Spain. Excellent quality, service and very reasonable priced. Great atmosphere!

Great Tapas on Grand Street NYC

By avril m |

We went for lunch at around 3pm on a Saturday (today)! We hadn’t booked. There were no tables so we left then returned (having looked at way less appetising places nearby) & sat at the bar! We were soooo glad we did! The food, service and attention to detail were incredible. My husband and I are foodies & have visited must Spanish cities! The fish & pork shoulder were incredibly well cooked. Freshly prepared to order! The best meal so far in NYC! The barman/server was lovely . Chilled vibe, fab food !

Excellent, like a tapas bar in Madrid

By elio967 |

We were in Soho and ended up in little Italy which is a bit depressing in terms of bars and restaurants - being Italian I feel like they are stuck in an unrealistic time in the past (very far from the real Italy). Magically, we have been attracted by Tomino, an elegant Spanish place in the middle of out of date little Italy. Food was excellent, tapas as good as in La Gran Via in Madrid. Veggie ‘soup’ and fried calamari and courgettes were as you would expect in a Michelin star restaurant. Service was warm, smiley, as you would expect in Spain. Highly recommended!

Soberbio!

By Karamelized1 |

A super new Spanish (real Spanish!) restaurant. Great tapas, great meals. Friendly, attentive servers! Good selection of wines and beer; need more tempranillos, but that’s a personal requirement;-).... Highly recommended for dates and family time.

Excellent tapas

By YY_Xie |

I ordered the tripe stew, ribs, octopus (pulpo á feira) and squid ink rice (arroz negro). All of them were excellent! One of the best Spanish food I've had outside of Spain. The portions are very generous for tapas, so do be careful not to over-order.

Best Spanish Restaurant in Manhattan

By AlvMadrid |

It was my third visit to Tomiño. Previous times I just had some small tapas and beer. I finally I made it for dinner and the experience and service was above and beyond. Being a Spaniard I can be proud of this restaurant in Manhattan. Really authentic Cocina Gallega. We had The empanada, pulpo, chorizo on fire, tortilla de betanzos, Chuleton and Arroz Caldoso at the end. I can only say amazing experience

Ok but prices above average

By jay3_112 |

Place with an excellent variety of tapas, mainly for happy hour and possible extension for dinner. All good (especially the pulpo a feira and the scallops) but with high prices. I recommend consulting the menu before going, and keeping in mind that the portions are 'tapas' and not dinner portions. Good selection of Spanish and especially Galician wines.

EXCELLENT DINNER AND SERVICE!

By Jo B |

While visiting our son in the city, he suggested trying Tomino for dinner, We were not disappointed! We shared a number of dishes, and they were all amazing: Charcoal Roasted Cod with Cauliflower, Potato and Onion Confit, Potato Egg Omelet, Baby Squid with Zucchini and Potato, Grilled Sardines and Cornbread, Bomba Rice and Squid, and Carabineros Mediterranean Red Prawns!n Excellent choices! Thankfully, we had room for dessert....Galacian Crepe, with Raspberry and White Chocolate Mousse and an Ice Cream and Cookie crumble! The service was excellent, as well as the Wine and Margaritas! Defintely on our list when we head back in April!!

Kinda of Meh....

By Portuguese Princess |

Received several recommendations to try Tomino for authentic Spanish tapas. Nice atmosphere, great location and good service but the food was just OK. Nothing stood out and I've had much better tapas for less $$.

Good choice

By Lindinhos A |

Restaurant with very nice atmosphere and quite welcoming. Excellent service. The food very well confectioned. We ate at the entrance the pulpo which was very well confectioned, jamon and roasted chourish. From main dish rice broth with detergent an excellent choice. We advise

A fine place

By Harold A |

A wonderful space with excellent food, attentive service. We had my wife’s birthday party there with twenty friends. The set menu was diverse and delicious, the services friendly and courteous. Can’t wait to go back.

Fantastic authentic flavors

By Marco M |

A new find! Elegant casual restaurant with concise and to the point menu. Grab some pan con tomate while you sip your Tempranillo (really, really good... have the Reserva). The pulpo is AMAZING. I cannot rave enough about Tomiño. The host: super nice and helpful. The staff: super knowledgeable and nice. The pork shoulder special was... amazing. I can go there every night. And priced well! Fantastic job guys!

Wow

By Manfred H |

It’s a tapas restaurant but different to other Spanish restaurants. It’s quite authentic Gallego, very nice tastes. We both enjoyed it very much and as we were seated at an outdoor table on a lovely evening we had a great experience there.

Great date night

By Matt D |

We had reservations on Saturday night. We were seated quickly and brought bread and water. We ordered drinks and several tapas, each was brought out one after the other. Service was great and very fast. Each of our tapas was good the peppers and scallops were our favorites. I'd definitely go back and try the rest of the menu.

OUTSTANDING new favorite spot!

By spatafora |

A last minute decision this past Saturday resulted in the discovery of what has quickly become one of our favorite restaurants in NYC. The evidence? We loved it so much, we were back three days later, on Tuesday! The food was absolutely outstanding. Over the two nights, we tried a variety of tapas, including croquetas (amazing), tortilla (amazing), churrasco (amazing), pulpo (doubly amazing), costillas (amazing), pimentos (also amazing) and more. Three of shared the chuletón (“for two”, yet plenty went home with us). It was cooked impeccably; some of the best steak I have ever had. The service was flawless and attentive without being overbearing. The service staff was very kind and interested, and did everything they could to ensure our happiness with everything. The atmosphere is also gorgeous. Beautiful décor, perfectly lit, and magnificent wood and glass display cases, with warm and inviting colors emanating from everywhere. We met managers Diego and Fernando, who both went out of their way to take good care of us. We were so thrilled with the experience on Saturday, we returned on Tuesday to try things we simply couldn’t on Saturday. It’s Wednesday and I wish I could go back tonight! Highly recommended!!!

Super food, don’t miss out

By NICOLA D |

Food was superb. We had langoustines and scallops. Both were divine. I loved our starters too. We also had red snapper. Don’t miss

Outstanding Spanish tapas!

By Angel G |

Found the restaurant serendipitously while while walking through Little Italy and Chinatown. What a wonderful experience this was! The service was excellent (thanks Jonathan Salinas!) and the tapas were superior, especially the tuna empanadillas and the lamb ribs. My only complaint was that the churrasco ribs were somewhat raw, otherwise the meal was perfect. Will definitely come back on our next trip to NYC!

Definitely a hidden gem!

By Riley M |

Loved the tapas here! The patatas bravas were amazing, and the jamón ibérico was delicious. Small but cozy spot with authentic flavors.

Amazing Spanish food in nyc

By Borja U |

I had dinner in Tomiño on January 6 with 15 people, out of which 12 were Spaniards. We are all very foodie and have tried most Spanish restaurants in NYC. This is by far the best. It felt just like having a proper dinner back in the mother land. Very good raw materials, cooking, presentation and amount of food. The service was very attentive and provided us with good suggestions, timing was reasonable and the wine list was ample and reasonably priced. I would recommend anyone to try this amazing new restaurant. Great quality for price. I will definitely come back as often as I can. Congrats to Felipe and Marcos!

A great find

By recklessweimie |

Wonderful food, great atmosphere, great service, and reasonable (for the quality and location) prices. Small plates, authentic recipes, good wine. Ate there twice in 4 nights!

Beautiful

By Joseph2b |

We had a delicious lunch in this great restaurant, very nice staff, excellent tapas , perfect black paella and sumptuous beef rating. A treat

Awesome and authentic

By multihook |

What a gem. Beautiful inside. Authentic gallacian tapas. The food was awesome, especially the croquettes, empenadillas, and the pork and potatoes. The Spanish wines were great. Also the after dinner sherry. The service was the best we ever had. All the waiters were knowledgeable and attentive. Prices were so worth the quality of the food. When we went they were only open 8 months. Please dine at this establishment so they will be there many years. We can’t wait to visit NYC again to go back!

A cure for morriña!

By Dia M |

I had a wonderful dinner at Tomiño. Two of my best friends and I used to live in Vigo, Galicia and we were feeling nostalgic and looking for a place that had the classic dishes. Tomiño did not disappoint! Pulpo a feira, callos, and pimientos de padrón were our favorites. And of course a shot of crema de orujo to end the meal! I recommend Tomiño to anyone that wants a taste of Spain or wants to try something new!

Tapas I’d king

By steverA8718SU |

Tapas is king . Very busy place . Tapas is delicious and reasonable. . The sangria was good but a little pricey . We stuffed ourselves on Tapas. Waiters were outstanding

recommendable

Highly recommended, excellent quality and treatment. We found it by pure chance. Reasonable prices, considering prices in NY.

Authentic Spanish restaurant

Tapas!

By misopiso88 |

I was in NYC on business and eating dinner by myself so I opted for sitting at the bar at Tomino. Friendly staff, delicious food and nice ambiance. Overall, a great option on Grand Street, especially if you are looking for something other than Italian or Asian food.

An unexpected Spanish gem in Little Italy/Chinatown!

By German B |

We were at the Feast of San Gennaro and needed a break, when we stumbled onto Tomino, a lovely "taverna Gallega" on Grand St. opposite Ferrara's. A beautiful cozy interior with a bar near the entrance, and Fernando concocted some delicious cocktails for us. Our go-tos are margaritas and Old Fashioneds, and both were so good! Photos are below. We stayed for two drinks each and we promised to come back for their tapas and dinner menu. Everything sounded wonderful so this is definitely going to be worth a return visit for food (as well as more cocktails!)

Authentic Dining Experience

By Elisamarie74 |

My husband, a real foodie and die hard fan of all foods related true to their origins, is Galician. Since sweet I have consulted many times with his Grandmother regarding a few dishes as she grew up in Galicia. We decided to treat ourselves to a night out and I came across this restaurant via the Michelins list. Made my resi a week ahead as it seemed to me that this place booked quickly. They use Yelp to manage their reservations so it was very easy. Of course the night of the weather was awful and I called Tomino concerned we would lose our slot. Pleasantly surprised that they were so accommodating and understanding. Already they had me at hello. Parking was easy as there is a lot not two blocks away. Upon entering the restaurant we were greeted by the hostess with a warm smile. The atmosphere was warm and jubilant and the look was minimalist, modern, clean and inviting. I have to emphasize that the service was impeccable from the front door greeting to the goodbyes as we left. No one missed a beat. We never wanted for anything or waited for anything at any moment. We started with the Tapas. We ordered the Caldo Gaellgo Soup, the croquettes, the flaming chorizo to start. Each item had layers of flavors that tickled our pallets making us want more. Each and every one could easily be served at any local eatery in Galicia. Authentic with a twist. Heaven. We decided to keep going with the Tapas and ordered the mix it platter which featured spanish meats and cheeses. Notably the famous serrano hams, iberico ham. Serendipitous! At this point we were so full we skipped the entree and went right to dessert. The sponge cake with crem brulee and vanilla ice cream and the crepe. Heaven is an understatement. The flavors just kept enhancing one another, the sponge cake was perfection. Yes my friend a taste like no other unless you hop on a flight to Spain or maybe not?? That's how decadent this was. We were greeted by the owner Phillippe who was so attractive to every detail throughout the front and back of the house. A very very personable and warm fellow who we cannot wait to chat with again...very very soon. We give this place 5 stars all around and next time we go we may take the rest of the family. So inviting and delicious you don't want to leave.

TAPAS! TAPAS! TAPAS!

By tms215 |

Wow, just Wow. This is an authentic Spanish restaurant. The tapas are perfect for sharing while sitting with friends and a glass of wine. The dishes are absolutely delicious. 3/4 of the patrons are speaking Spanish all around you which just adds to the ambiance. Great wines from Spain so it's easy to try something new. This is well worth a visit...and a visit...and a visit

Wow!

By KCO_foodie |

Spanish tapas is our favourite cuisine and we’ve tried several restaurants, not just where we live (Toronto) but also in several cities around the world. This is one of the (if not the) best Spanish tapas meals we’ve ever had. Even the wine (Albarino de Fefinanes) was excellent, as was the service. Highly recommend!

Fabulous!!

By Alana F |

As many others have reviewed, this place is fantastic!! We started out with cocktails and decided to get a bunch of small plates. We ordered two of the blistered peppers, empanadillas, empanada gallega del dia, lamb chops (my wife said they were fantastic and wanted to chew every bit of meat off the bone but thought it rude), and the sea scallops. Everything was perfectly seasoned and balanced. We asked the bartender for a recommendation on wine since we weren't that familiar with Spanish wines and his choice was on point, a Don Bernardino 4 Generation Barrica 2012. Would recommend highly and come back!!

Fabulous tapas and bar

By Nichola R |

My husband and I visited New York over the weekend staying on Grand Street. We had dinner at Tomino’s on our first evening, waiting and sitting at the bar and returned again the following evening and then for drinks on our last night. The restaurant staff were so friendly and helpful, recommending dishes and the bar tender was excellent. My husband stating it was the best ever gin and tonic. The atmosphere was great, not too loud, very much an enjoyable place to eat and drink. Would advise booking on a Friday or Saturday.

Comida increíble, rude rude waiter

By Kevin K |

We chose restaurants carefully in NYC to avoid burgers, pizzas etc all the time and as we love Spanish food we thought we’d try this place after much research. The food and atmosphere were really lovely, amazing pulpo a la gallega, croquetas, patatas bravas and Albariño wine. Felt authentic and lots of lovely Spanish owners hanging around. The really disappointing and upsetting thing about this experience is we spent $132 and paid $140 when ‘one’ of the waiters who came to collect the money started counting it in front of us and said ‘do you realise the check doesn’t include the service charge?’ I nodded and said yes he then proceeded to say ‘well the suggestion is $10 more’ and I said ok he then asked if there was anything wrong with the service to which I said no of course not he then gave us a tirade of abuse saying well when we go to your country we respect your culture and traditions and so you should do that when you come to ours which meant for a very awkward scenario as he stormed off. We quietly got up to leave and on the way out he brusquely brushed against us sarcastically saying well you enjoy your evening! It’s really sad that this happened at the end of a wonderful meal but I’m sorry several waiters attended us serving food as you’d expect but I didn’t feel it necessary to be harassed into giving a huge tip when it is after all just a ‘suggestion!’ We left this lovely place with heavy hearts having been spoken to so appealingly I’m sure had we only spoken to the Galician owners they’d have felt as equally embarrassed as tipping in Spain is not necessarily the done thing anymore. Are wages so terribly in New York that the waiter felt so compelled to abuse customers who had just spent $140?? Just a real shame in a culture that ‘prides’ itself on customer service!

Run, don’t walk, to this delightful restaurant

By JupiterKLP |

Are you in NYC? Are you anywhere in the vicinity? Then drop whatever you are doing and head straight to Tomiño Taberna Gallega. Order a Tequilazo. Relax. Peruse the menu and order a few things - we went for the scallops, the lamp chops, the ribs, the tortilla Española, and the empanadillas for our little one. Eat slowly, savor every bite and maybe even go for a second drink. Hey, it’s New York, you don’t have to drive anywhere. Chat with the friendly servers before you go. Tell EVERYONE about this restaurant, because yes, it’s that good!

Recommended restaurant

A Galician restaurant in Manhattan. Stunning food and service Considering that both my wife and I are catering, Special mention of both Iria Charming and Fernando The two very attentive and friendly Thank you so much for everything

Delicious Spanish cuisine

By mike f |

Decided to try another type of cuisine besides Italian in Little Italy. Sat outside on a pleasant Friday evening. The “ tapas” were much larger than expected. The pimientos were ok but flavorless. The jamon, cheese and roasted vegetables were excellent. The service was responsive but not exceptional. The desserts were outstanding

Nice tapas dinner in the middle of... Little Italy

By DoJH |

That sounded like a somewhat odd choice but we were in the mood for tapas and a glass of cava that evening (rather than the overpriced and tourist-special spaghetti with tomato sauce fresh from the jar that is the usual fare in this neighborhood. Sorry, I like authentic Italian food - I am married to a real Italian!) Great dinner with croquettas, pulpa, sardines, tortilla, etc. The cheese and charcuterie board was a bit on the cheap side in terms of quantity but was excellent. I’d rather have quality than quantity. A nice find: a Manhattan cocktail where brown rhum was substituted for bourbon. Excellent idea. I fancy my manhattans and this one will one more reason to come back.

Authentic Spanish Food

By jumpin82s |

My wife and I wanted to try authentic Spanish foods before traveling to Spain this summer. We were so glad to find this restaurant. The foods were very delicious and it was an unique experience. I would definitely come back.

Extremely fast and professional when one of us broke a glass

By ManuelLucero |

generally happy with the tapas. Extremely fast and professional when one of us broke a glass. Casual and very professional waiter. EXCELLENT tarta de Santiago dessert, with a cruz gallega on top!

Best Spanish/Mediterranean

By AnnShen5210 |

Best Spanish/Mediterranean in NYC with specialty Galicia Tortilla and so much more! If this is your first time dining at Tomiño, be sure to try their Galicia Tortilla. It uses running yolk which makes the soft potato tastes like heaven. The restaurant’s owner is from Tomiño, Galicia, and this is definitely one of their signature tapas. Besides, their octopus is incredibly fresh and perfectly made. Not chewy but soft and delicious. We also had their sausage and ribs. Also amazing! We came in a group of two girls and we in total ordered 4 tapas and a Sangria (red). We enjoyed every minute of our dining experience. Highly recommend you get a reservation as during the dinner time the restaurant can be quite packed. If you are as indecisive as we were, you will be surprised and delighted by the waiter’s recommendation. A must-go, must-try restaurant if you love tapas!

Wonderful food! Shareable plates. Easy Gluten free

By Gmanbumpy |

Wonderful food. Shareable plates. Easy to make gluten free. Great wine list. Gluten free beer on the menu. I would definitely come back!!!

Authentic everything

By docoffee |

Having enjoyed Galician cuisine in Spain, we were hopeful that Ziggy's recommendation of this location would prove as true as all his other suggestions for the best of NYC. And, for all of you who can't wait to read the verdict, it was a non contested win. We had flavorful vermuts (what a selection!!!), squid, scallops, out of this world octopus, and pork with foam to finish off a culinary treat. The location was filled with other people on a Saturday night having a boisterous evening but service kept up with our needs. All in all, it was like we were back in our happy Spanish spot.

Mediocre

By wanderlust5260 |

I'm Galician and I found the food mediocre. Service was extremely slow. We were there for 2.5 hours. Not one of our 17 dishes came out hot. Arroz negro took over one hour. We had to ask for serving utensils with almost every dish that came (we were a group of 7). And despite knowing it was our wedding day and us ordering 17 dishes + drinks, we didn't receive any complimentary desserts, not even a single scoop of ice cream. I guess that's Spanish hospitality or maybe I'm just spoiled by other restaurants that have provided complimentary desserts on birthdays and anniversaries.

Great Space, Great Food and Great Staff

By Jenn C |

We nearly ordered everything on the menu and everything came out phenomenal! The highlights were the Pulpo a Feira, Pimientos estilo padron and the Chuleton de vaca vieja!

Tapas in Little Italy

By Donna C |

After arriving in Manhattan and checking into our hotel my husband and I were looking for a nice place to have a drink and a light bite. A few doors down from our hotel we came upon Happy Hour at Tomino-Taberna Gallega. Assisted by our excellent, knowledgeable and friendly server we ordered a number of tapas as well as a couple of glasses of vermouth and of wine. The food was delicious and having been to Galicia we felt it to be very authentic. Sitting on the patio at Tomino-Taberna Gallega eating tasty tapas and drinking great vermouth and wine was a very enjoyable way to spend an hour or so in New York City.

Galician Food in NY

By Alberto B |

For us is the second time here… Great place to have a good time with friends. Food, atmosphere, prices all of this together make The place one of our favorites in NY.

Tasteless Tapas. Absent service. Rubber squid.

By Travelsinner |

Terribly disappointing food. Good people watching opportunities from street front vantage but tasteless croquettes which hd no filling other than béchamel, over cooked tasteless squid and chorizo flambé which hadn’t been adequately warmed to release fat. Don’t come here for the food

Viva Galicia!

By espaniatica |

I’ve been to this lovely place 3 times now, each time trying a new dish, each time delighted. As soon as I walked in, I loved the place. It is stylish, yet comfortable enough to make you feel at home. The staff provides a very warm welcome. The owners – three brothers know Galicia well – transport you to their little corner of Paradise each time you visit. It is wonderful! Tomiño Taberna Gallega features the cuisine of the green, Northwest corner of Spain - Galicia - North of Portugal. Gallego cuisine is not very well-known in the US, but it should be. It takes top-notch ingredients and uses them to their maximum potential, letting their flavors shine through. The pulpo (octopus) is heavenly. In fact, all the seafood dishes are top notch – and then there is the meat…and the salads! There is an extensive, Spanish-based wine list, as well as beer and cider on tap. I have travelled all over Spain for more than 40 years. Tomiño Taberna Gallega takes me back to Galicia, a trip I wish I could make more often. Try it!

Delicious food; beautiful interior.

By Sam MMH |

Took the family (two teenagers) out for a nice dinner as Spanish food is hard to find near us. We all loved the various dishes: blistered peppers; patatas bravas; croquettes; ribs. You name it and we likely tried it. Everything was on point and amazing. Easily earns 5-stars.

Surprising find in Little Italy/Chinatown

By Peter B |

One would not expect a Spanish Tapas restaurant in this neighbourhood, but there it is. It is quite spacious, with non-NY enough elbow space at tables, but also quite noisy. Not for a quiet dinner. Food is very decent, more hit than miss. Service is swift and polite, no problems there. Cocktails are generous, with a large G&T section, even with a rather rare Monkey 47 Schwarzwald. Good touch. Very good baby ribs. Disappointingly mild Chorizo. Excellent sardines with crystal salt (yes!), but on weird bread. Wild mushroom with grapes and goat cheese is a strange mix, but it works on a certain level. OK Pulpo and Cod. Excellent Salpicon. Probably would go back and try the rest..on a some quieter night.

Authentic Spanish Restaurant with real Spaniards

By Ceez787 |

The Restaurant is very cozy with a nice warm vibe, it has indoor (were we were) and outdoor seating area. The servers are fantastic (Fernando), everyone takes care of you from the moment you reach the door, to the moment you are seated, you feel right at home, everyone we met was actually from Spain. The pricing, in my opinion and based on numerous Spanish restaurants I have frequented in Spain, Chicago and Florida, for example, was a little on the high side for Tapas that are meant to be shared, the choices were not as varied as I would have liked but the quality of what we did have (see pictures) was quite good.. I have to say that the excellent wine we were served the outstanding service more than made up for any shortcomings of the menu..

New place - give it a try

By KrisHutchinson |

Next to our hotel, gave it a shot, pleasantly surprised. The place just opened so it’s a little slow but the food was fresh and delicious. The Spanish cider and rosé were cold and excellent. The best part was dessert: crème brûlée on top of a slice of pound cake, ala mode. Give these guys a shot.

Just like Spain

By iml549 |

I am Spanish living in NY and after some months here I finally found a proper Spanish restaurant. The flavors are just as if I was back in Spain, the owners are Spanish and the service was great. I loved the pulpo a la gallega and the desserts are amazing. If you want to try authentic Spanish cuisine this is probably one of the best places in NYC, at least the only real Spanish I found. The atmosphere is great as well, will come back often!

Fantastic

By Marta R |

Fantastic restaurant very close to Chinatown where you can find yourself in a taberna gallega like you are in Galicia. Very beautiful decoration and the food is even more amazing. There is a menu with traditional food from Spain and Galicia. They have a happy hour were they serve a little tapa with the drinks. Service extraordinary as they realized we were not from NY and they helped us to find places in NY to go. We tried many tapas an the flavors were just perfect. The octopus is perfectly cooked as they will do in Galicia. Definitely where to go if you miss your bit of Spain

Delicious Galician cuisine

By Joe L |

Very good menu with traditional dishes such as the Octopus in a restaurant owned and operated by Gallegos who truly do a great job in preparing and presenting Galician food.Aside from the octopus, the spanish omelet is also a great treat. A bit upscale in some respects with the menu but very relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Very good wine and cocktail list adds to a great experience.

Anniversary Dinner

By Edgar R. M |

This restaurant is like eating food at your Galician grandmother’s kitchen! It has both a taverna and a restaurant feel to it. It is buzzing!!!
