Mango Margaritas a must!

By RochelleM |

Such a fun place, one of my favourites in NYC. The mango margaritas are lethal but a must do! The food is pretty good too, although I usually never get that far. Its a relatively small space so if you're planning of making an evening out of it, arrive a little earlier to secure a table, else just hang around the bar for a drink or two.

A fun place to sit & have a few

By UWECSARAH |

We stumbled upon this place. It was so much fun we went back the next day. Just when you think you've seen it all ....

Believe it or not: our favorite restaurant in NYC

By Eric C |

There is a certain fabulousness to any restaurant that has a half of a mobile home on display near the bar. The hedges are neatly trimmed and the laundry has been hung up to dry. If you are looking for fast, reliable, and very tasty comfort food, this is the place for you. They have one of the best margaritas in all of NYC (and certainly at one of the best prices -- get the happy hour BIG pitcher for ~ $35), tator tots smothered in chili, bacon, jalapenos, cheese and lots of other stuff, burgers, sandwiches, and (believe it or not) a few Vegan and healthy options! Prices are cheap, company is awesome, and the decorations are worth a visit in and of themselves. Don't be surprised if you sit next to someone famous (I have!), and you have one of the best comfort meals around for not much cash. The deco is all original. We were shocked how much the owner wanted to part with a hula lamp that we're especially fond of... give it a try, you won't be sorry! (the food, not the hula lamp. The lamp is ours!)

Very fun and unique place

By Vacanikki |

We stopped in here after having lunch across the street. Fun atmosphere and good service. Had the champagne in a can that was good.

this place is a 'real hoot', with dynamite burgers and friendly service!

By happycamper60763 |

loved the one-of-a-kind atmosphere, good grilled food and nice waitstaff. very reasonably priced for a chelsea address. strong margaritas!!! we'll be back.

Fun fun fun

By natsmom229 |

Have a beer and relax in front of a 16 foot trailer while staring at all the trailer trash memorabilia. Its a 1950s mix of Elvis stuff, old beer adds, strings of light, and other awful decorations. LOVE THE PLACE!

The Twister missed this Trailer Park!

By Giveahoot |

Caught our attention from across the street and had to take a look inside. It’s a treasure trove of trailer park trash in the best of all possible ways. Not to mention the menu is great, the atmosphere is exuberant and walls tell the story.

Kitschy at it's Best

By MamaFrank |

Very loud and hot but lots of fun. Started with a pitcher of margaritas and they were awesome. Not a fan of the Jim Bob's IQ - it was very expensive and really tasted watered down. On the other hand - Kiss My Frigid Woo Woo was fantastic. The food was good too! I highly recommend the tater tots - especially the loaded ones.

Loved it!

By hildur78 |

Loved the atmosphere and the decorations, the name says it all! Had one of the best nachos I've ever tasted and we all loved the cocktails! The bartender was really nice and all in all we had a great time there.

Rockabilly kitschy heaven

By ooky57 |

Great vintage atmosphere in the middle of Manhattan. Looks and feels like a trailer park complete with vintage tvs showing hep 50's drive-in films and various trailer trash babes lounging around (ok so they're mannequins). Good food -- burgers, nachos, grilled cheese. Nice beer selection. Way cool!

Kitch and Fun!

By lost_outhere |

More of a fun bar with a few tables serving a small choice of menu (burgers, chicken, fajitas etc) this is a compact but fun little place in NYC. Every nook and cranny is jam packed with over the top trashy memorabilia and fun touches - there is even half a caravan (sorry trailer!) in there! We had fajitas and these were served in plastic trays with kitchen roll for napkins - but it is all part of the charm. I would say it is a good pitstop on your way out for a good night, we stayed a couple of hours just to take it all in, then headed on into Midtown to continue our night out. Directions - it is opposite the movie theatre and next door to a martial arts studio. It looks small from the outside so blink and you might miss it!

Fun!

By Michael C |

A good place if you're in the mood for some good ol' Americana comfort food. Burgers, Tater Tots, canned beer, & moon pies! A lot of silly vintage decor... A good "go to" place.

Cozy and Chill

By Meg |

An authentically cool place in the heart of Chelsea. Loved ducking into the lounge on a chilly November night, and tucked into a cozy booth to enjoy a pitcher of frozen margarita. We were made to feel welcome and taken care of. Everything is crammed inside and so much color and light to take in, and somehow, it just all works. It is kitchsy, not cheesy. Will return next time Im in the neighborhood for the bar food and more margaritas!

If you're in New York check out this place !

By Julie P |

Of all the bars/pubs I have been too this has definitely been one of my favourites. The decor is awesome. I love the quirkiness and even got to purchase a fridge magnet to remember this place ;0)... The staff were friendly and loved the assortment of drinks! Food was awesome too! A definite must when visiting New York !!

Out of the ordinary!

By Skeets37 |

I've been here 3 or 4 times. It's an interesting place to visit. Place is decorated with just tons of old tacky adds and gadgets. You notice something different every time you visit. I also like that they do not have a TV and have some good older music going at all times and not too loud just right. Food is decent. Only drawback is that the place may look like a dive bar, the beer prices are not! It's $6.50 for a Miller High Life to give you an example. But I wouldn't call that a negative just wanted to let you know

More like a 50s or 60s theme

By wendywaterman |

I wouldn't say it's "trailer park" themed, more like 60s theme. There is enough junk and memorabilia on the walls to keep you looking for hours! And there is a pretend trailer up against the way. Super fun stuff. Happy hour available and food! Check out the pregnant mannequin smoking a cigarette above the bar. Or the topless mannequin popping out of the beer tub. There is even an old Aqua Net hair spray dispenser by the bathrooms. Some seriously interesting stuff. Definitely a place to check out, at least for one drink. Lots of great photo opportunities mixed with good drinks!

Great Bar...Trailer Trash in a Bar

By Keith W |

Great bar for a late night drink, interesting decor I cannot remeber the prices and we only had drinks but it apparently frequented by Debbie harry and Madonna but they were not there when we were. We had a good time.

What a Fun Restaurant

By tripgirl680 |

Found this restaurant when searching for fun places to eat in NYC. It is very kitschy and so much fun. As soon as you walk in you blown away by all the things on the walls, you name it, it's on the wall! They have great music playing and the staff are all very friendly. The meals were tasty and huge. If you are looking for somewhere fun that is like nowhere else you've been for dinner, this is definitely the place.

Just like home... Wait, is that a good thing?

By Royal Yates |

I loved the decorations and character of the Trailer Park Lounge. Although it's 21+ after a certain time, we had a blast, made jokes about this hitting close to home (My friends and I are all originally from rural Missouri), and enjoyed the tots. We also got a pitcher of the mango margs, which were strong and flavorful, but had chunks of frozen mango still in them that were kind of gross. See my instagram @thelivingroyal for pics.

A retro feast for your eyes!

By TravelPops |

A NYC landmark for sure and a must see. There are so many decorations to peruse that you may forget to order a drink--go early in the day so that you can beat the crowd and walk around the camper, Elvis pics, signs, lights, gadgets and so much more--I really liked the pregnant mannequin with the cigarette and beer. The short order food is as delectably trashy as the place is--tater tots, nachos, fries and sandwiches--all good and the beer is very cold! Price is right since you get dinner and a show.

Fun place with just enough schtick!!!

By drstacy2016 |

Our first stop on a walking "pub crawl" through Chelsea.....great appetizers, a reasonable maragairta and awesome trailor decor....including a real trailor park trailor!!!

Fun bar for tourists and locals alike

By Mark B |

A friend and I bobbed in here for a bite to eat before a movie. The inside is a riot of signs and Americana. Food was good, but not really fast to arrive, although were in not at a regular mealtime.

Deliciously Kitch-ey

By Valleysailor |

This place is well worth the visit even if you only wander in to drink a cold beer! You have never seen so much "stuff" packed into such a little place. I have to give kudos to their decorator! I enjoyed a fabulous hamburger (normally a safe choice if you are unsure of the quality of the fare), nice crispy tater tots (hard to find in the Big Apple!), and a few cold ones. My friend ordered a quesadilla dish, and another had a hoagy-type sandwich. We were all well pleased with our food! So, if you are looking for something a little different than your typical NYC uptown restaurant, this little gem should please you!

Such Fun!!

By ACD |

A MUST see & do when in NYC! After a nice stroll along the High Line - def hit this bar or a frozen cocktail or two .. so much fun!

Fun and Quirky

By slthomp |

We found this place while specifically looking for a quirky bar. It didn't disappoint. The atmosphere was fun, the patrons were friendly, and the bartender, Jackie, was super sweet and amazing. I'd go back for sure.

All kitsch

By Paul S |

Busy Sunday afternoon and I think they had one person working... nothing came out the way it was described... frito chili pie sounded great with chili (you could have beef or veggie) cheese, jalapeno and sour cream. we got fritos and chili. When asked about the toppings she said they were supposed to be on the side... clearly they weren't... she came back with sour cream, salsa. I asked about the cheese & jalapenos... I got jalapenos... still waiting on my cheese! Burger ordered med rare - got well done. Ordered tots... got fried tots but too salty to eat!... ugh.... love the kitsch not the food or service

A feast for the eyes

By 24HoursFromTulsa |

The look and feel of this place is what it's about. Beers and food are fine but not special. There's plenty to look at on the walls and around the room which can keep you entertained for hours if you like the vintage retro trailer feel of the place. It's quirky and I like quirky but that in itself isn't enough to keep you coming back. I'd suggest they spice up the menu and I might make another visit next time I'm in NY, otherwise twice in four years is probably enough for me.

Fun and unusual spot in Chelsea

By Arthur T |

This theme bar/pub/restaurant is a welcome change from the high-end or chain restaurants in Chelsea. Prices are very reasonable, comfort food is yummy, ambiance is quirky and fun (imagine photos of Tammie Faye Baker on the wall next to black light posters of Elvis, among countless other items), and the service is friendly and prompt. Victoria and Amy are two of the friendliest bartenders you'll meet...very easy going. The food is not gourmet, but it is very tasty. What's not to love about hush puppies, a vegetarian sloppy joe smothered in jalapeños, and a cold beer?

A slice of fun

By G00S3 |

Definitely different, but definitely worth it! Like someone took a small town diner and whacked it with a white trash trailer!

Double up on your cholesterol medication and enjoy...

By Charliecutler |

Fun atmosphere...after a long day of seeing the city, this spot was perfect. Started with the tater tots and had sloppy joes, mother in law's revenge, nachos, & a burger. It feels odd giving a trailer park dive bar 5 stars, but it makes sense for this place.

Definitely worth a visit

By TrippsterNJ |

An entertaining and fun place to rock out. Interesting decor. Must try a Jalapeño Rita on the Rocks.

Neat place

By hooper |

Stopped in for a quick lunch and overall enjoyed it. The food is solid (sweet potatoe fries are amazing) and the decore is really cool. Check it out if you want a good burger and a chill but interesting atmosphere.

Tacky to the Max!

By Twickmany |

Saw the garish neon sign and had to go in. First thing I saw was a pregnant mannequin in a lawn chair with a cigarette and a beer. Further inspection uncovered a velvet painting of Elvis and Christmas light year round. Had so much fun I bought and applied one of their tattoos before leaving :-)

Funky and Fun

By FSU4DLD |

Had the opportunity to go to the Trailer Park one Saturday night. We had a large group and sat by the front in the bowling area. The garage door was open since it was a beautiful night near the toilet (photo opp). The drinks were good and we just had fun taking in the decorations and funky atmosphere. Will be back again!!

Kitchy Kool!

By Alayna G |

I stopped in here over 5 years ago and thought MEH... Empty with mediocre food. Glad I gave it another try. Dropped in LATE on a Friday night and it was full with a great, diverse crowd. Ordered a burger platter special and ended up with an AWESOME pirate ship filled with our food (picture attached). Good bar food (nothing awesome), but drinks were really good. Pricing was decent, and service great. Not a family place (maybe lunch), but great place to drop in for drinks and to check out the amazing décor. I'll be back!!!

COOL with a capital K, for caravan

By pnct45 |

We found this by accident... the interior is kitch, I ordred the burger and sweet potato fries, my wife ordered the mac and cheese with potato tots, and our friend ordered a burger with cheese as well. The burger was one of the best that I had in NY and the potato tots were excellent. Mac and cheese was not as expected Atmosphere was great, if you dont have time foir a meal suggest you go for a drink, just so you can look around the restaurant, you couldn't decorate it yourself this was as your sense of decor would just not allow it... It's brilliant. We were served by a girl with a blonde bob hair, glasses and a hat... very witty and good service. IT IS JUST FUN

Interesting place!

By ShayBelle |

We were told before our trip to NYC that we just HAD to go to the Trailer Park Lounge and Grill. To say the name had my eyebrows raised is an understatement. :-) But I'm soooo glad we listened to the recommendation! The interior "decorating" is probably one of a kind. It is tacky and cool at the same time - like the velvet painting of Marilyn Monroe with a tooth missing! The food was pretty good. But the strawberry margaritas were the BEST!! I will definitely go back again the next time I'm in town.

Just SO different and interesting

By PaMike |

Stopped in for lunch and wasn't disappointed with the food. I suggest you don't order iced tea though. The place is very 50's from the 4-legged TV showing an old Elvis concert in HI, to memorabilia from posters to lamps, bowling alley seating in one area to a picture booth. There's a deer with teeth, holding a sign directing you to the restrooms. The name comes from the fact that they have cut off one whole side of an old pull behind 50's camping trailer (about 4" wide) and attached it to the wall. There's the customary pink flamingo, a pregnant mannequin sitting in a beauty shop chair smoking. The more you look around, the greater the experience becomes. This is just a fun and weirdly cool place to check out. The food was plenty and reasonably priced.

Fun spot!

By Laura T |

This place is fun & their drinks are good! The only downfall is that it was really warm in there. We will def come back the next time we are in the city.

Kitch, Tots, and Brews

By jassfonchong |

This is one of my favorite spots to hit when I want to drink PBR and chow down on sloppy joes and tator tots. The mix drinks are strong and delicious, and they have a decent variety of beers that you would drink while tailgating, fishing, or hanging out in your favorite trailer park. Can't say enough about the tots, the sweet potatoes fries are also really good. I usually go for the sloppy joe or a cheese burger when I go. Fear not, they have veggie options for those of you who aren't into all the tasty meat options. All the food comes out in red baskets, including the moon pie desserts. Between all the decor on the walls, the beat up old diner chairs and tables and the air stream trailer relief on the wall you'll feel like your no longer in Chelsea, but in a good ol' trailer park.

$5 PBR total pwt great

By Paganlover |

So I made the wife stop at this staged dive. Atmosphere was perfectly done complete with half a trailer, claw foot tub and crates filled with iced beer. PBR tipped the scales at $5 and Patron was $10 but its Manhattan folks. Best part of the night was a bar lizard was working me and the wife over for free drinks. She takes off with a kind handshake and an unpaid bill. The bar keep totally didn't stick us with the bill, very cool.

Unique Bar in Chelsea

By leopardobx |

Was finally able to get a seat on 2nd attempt to go here. The first night, the place was packed. Very uniquely decorated with all sorts of trailer park trashy yet chic looking mannequins and Elvis decor. Prices are low-med range for drinks & apps. Bar tender was polite & prompt with the service. Had some sort of tater tots smothered in bacon, cheese, sour cream & beans with jalepenos on the side. Great snack to go with some cocktails!

Love the kitschy-iness!

By MissGeorgiana |

This place is all about kitschy vintage amazing decor, and I loved that! I am sure that this place must be great in the evening or at night, but my friend and I visited for lunch, and it was almost empty. We still enjoyed our burgers, though I'm still not sure about cinnamon on sweet potato fries... As for the kitsch decor, I could spend months looking at everything and still not see it all.

Fun place with extremely friendly staff

By Ylva B |

Walked by one day and though "oh no not my kind of place". A day later it popped up in my FB-flow as visited by friends. Read some reviews and decided to go for Happy Hour. I was not disappointed! It's totally overloaded with trailer park stuff. The waitress is so nice and neat. We had very generous frozen Maragaritas and opted for the sweet potatoe chips as a snack. Well, those were the only disappointment - didn't quite like the cinnamon and sugar flavour. But besides that I'd surely recommend to have a drink there.

Come for the happy hour drinks

By Benjamin M |

Nothing about the food and drinks are extraordinary and that's great in this instance. Happy hour is priced about "right" for happy hour food and drinks (right in comparison to NYC prices at least) being that you're not being given anything remarkable. The staff was very, very nice and quick with our orders. Give this place a try for drinks. The food may not be much to speak of, but I didn't get the vibe that they were trying to be a restaurant, instead, they're just a kitschy bar that also serves food. And that's just perfect.

Interesting dive bar

By Melanie T |

Five friends and I came in on a Saturday just before 4. Happy hour didn't start until 4, but our waitress was nice enough to honor the prices. It was $7 margaritas, and I think $4 PBRs (not many happy hour options). It is an interesting atmosphere. It really does look like it could be a trailer park in there. There's all sorts of weird decorations. It looks like they cleaned out someone's house from an episode of Hoarders: Buried Alive. Although the bar was empty when we were there, I can see it getting packed during weekday happy hours. I probably wouldn't come back unless I wanted to bring out of towners. Tip - the tater tots are really good. But then again, what fried oily food isn't?

Best Char-broiled Burger in Manhattan!

By DoctorBuckles |

The Clearview Cinema is across the street, we happened over after seeing The Artist. My friends love the burgers at Trailer Park Lounge, and I found out why! Excellent! Really, the best burger in Manhattan, or anywhere I’ve been lately. That says something! Had the burger with the requisite Tatter-tots. They know how to do them right too – nice and crispy, not soggy like they would be if you tried them at home! Sat under the looming image of Colonel Sanders with Jim and Tammy-Fay Bakker. That made my evening! Great ambiance, a real trailer extravaganza. Like I told my sister… “It was like being with the relatives except for the missing cigarette smoke and heaping ashtrays.” I say – must see!

Great Happy Hour Prices $3 PBR - MUST: Tater Tots

By Alock115 |

I went here for a work happy hour and loved it. Happy hour is from 4-6 and pbr cans(little ones) are $3 and Margaritas are $5. We ordered tater tots and had a blast. The decor is awesome and the service is great. I would definitely go here again.

Good bar

By Jacqui H |

Really recommend this bar in the Chelsea area of Mahattan. Bar maid was so lovely and couldn't do enough for me and my partner. Just wish we had come across this place earlier on in our trip!!

Better than it looks

By 917jodi |

I was a bit concerned by the decor and menu but was pleasantly surprised by my meal. The burgers and sandwiches were also large.

Always a favorite

By Amy_W_Roslindale |

I've been visiting the Trailer Park pretty much every time I've gone to NYC over the last several years. It's kitschy, it's fun, it doesn't take itself too seriously, and it was hipster before the hipsters showed up. If you like cold beer in a can (yes, they have PBR), tater tots, velveeta cheese, and Velvet Elvis-y decor, this is the bar for you. I love it and wish they'd open a Boston location.

Margarita's in the rain!!

By Catriona M |

Fabulous kitsch bar, serving the best iced margarita. Staff were fantastic. I lost my purse with a considerable amount of money in it plus all my cards......I honestly thought that it was gone forever, to my relief it was at the bar, all cash and cards. In a world when you hardly trust your neighbour, it restored my faith in humanity. Returned and ate 'tater tots' and quesadillas ❤️

awesome

By McMillanAndWife |

one of my favorite bars in the city. decor is awesome and they always show something old school on the tv's. staff is friendly and the food is pretty good. cool place

Good Idea, but Review Your Bill Before Paying!

By jetset1106 |

We were in Chelsea for a comedy show, and found the Trailer Park. From the moment you walk in, you are taken to a world of Redneckville. They have vintage signs, indoor shrubs, and 50's style vending machines. There's even a revolvong showcase of Tonya Harding. The food is typical comfort food, burgers, hot dogs, and macaroni and cheese. The portions are not that skimpy, as you might expect from a Manhattan restaurant. The prices are fairly resaonable, again, not what you would expect. When we got our bill, we noticed that the prices magically changed. It was a good thing their menus stay at the table. My wife's Cheesesteak Sandwich was $4 more than what was quoted on the menu. Who knew that a Cheesesteak did not come with cheese, and therefore was subject to a $2 surcharge (plus another $2 for onions, both of which the waitress said came on the sandwich). We ordered macaroni and cheese as an appetizer, and the billed price was higher than the menu's price. The family next to us ran into a similar problem, their bill was wrong as well. Two servers could not give us a straight answer, and finally the manager came over. She explained that the prices went up in the computer and the menus did not reflect that yet. I didn't know that you can morally price gouge with an appology. Our server offered to pass our information to the owner because "This is not the first time this has happened". She never followed up. I am not sure if we will return.

Pull on in to the Trailer Park and hook up!

By 2Travelers2Go |

Trailer Park is a fun place to go for a drink or meal. We only had drinks there, but the dishes of food that went by seemed to be substantial and looked great. They have some drink selections that run to the wacky side, but are tastely nonetheless. Lots of kitsch and memorabilia and there is actually half of a 50's style trailer inside the place. Definitely worth a stop and would go there again!

Kitschy Kool

By BandAidChick |

Awesome spot to have a drink in NYC. You could spend hours just staring at all of the weird stuff they have on the walls. Try the chili cheese tater tots!

Great time!

By vasserblue |

We stayed over Labor Day, girls trip, and it was great! Bartenders are great. We did get carded and are definitely over age, but so what, not a problem. Go here and visit Will and Amy, they make it a lot of fun. We ended up here every night!...(don't talk to queens, from Chicago, lol)

Fun, weird, place! One of the coolest bars I have ever visited! Good beers.. Good prices.. Bartender is fun! Decor is as weird as they come!

Come for kitsch, not class

By hrobinson1114 |

Four is for ambiance, kitsch, and photo ops only. I should also add that service was kind and attentive! With this place, what you see is what you get. It’s New York’s idea of trashy southern trailer parks (I do hail from Kentucky). Menu is SUUUPER basic—burgers, sliders, BEC, sloppy joes, trashy trailer park Tex-mex—I mean that in the nicest way possible. Very limited drink menu—only a couple drinks for single people, the rest are large/double drinks for couples, or pitchers for multiple people. Rum, pineapple, frozen margaritas and peach schnapps. You shouldn’t expect gourmet cocktails & food in a trailer park. People were enjoying themselves in this dive bar. Surrounded by neon and kitschy props, I enjoyed myself long enough to have one drink and to take some photos. Not a destination, but worth a look!

A "don't judge a book by its cover" kinda of place

By Amanda H |

We ended up here on a complete whim one Friday afternoon. We had a very jammed pack vacation planned with our 4 yr old in tow. We were all over the city that day and our daughter fell asleep on the subway. The Trailer Park Lounge was right off our stop and we decided to stop there for a while so she could crash in one of the booths (classy parents, I know!) At first, it seemed a little rough but the wait staff was amazing! We were greeted the second we walked in and they were very accommodating with our sleeping 4 yr old. We were lucky enough to hit happy hour - $4 PBR cans! The Bartender was so great working behind the bar but also continually checking on us. We ordered the sweet potato fries and they were AWESOME. We were at a lot of places during our trip and this was the ONLY one where we received outstanding service. We were very impressed and would recommend anyone to stop in a check this place out for a drink or two. NOTE: • Just because we had our child with us doesn't necessarily mean it's a kid friendly place. But was a great stop for a little rest and they were very understanding • The food menu was pretty simple and very "bar-food-like" and worth giving a try • There is a lot of things to look at and take in! Very interesting

Make sure you take your ID no matter how old you are!

By Peakster |

I was recommended to go to this bar by my cousin and his wife. The decor was tacky as expected. I ordered a beer, the bar tender took the cap off and then asked for my ID. He then refused to serve me as I only had a photocopy of my passport and it was not enough. Whilst I should have been please to be mistaken for around the 21 mark at 45 I am not so naive to think that I do. Sadly the barman took the open beer away and I had to do a walk of shame. On a positive note I found a lovely bar up the street where my custom was appreciated,

Gloriously Kitsch - a trailer full of treasure

By NorwichBeachbum |

What a cool bar with a great theme. Gloriously kitsch decor is the back drop in a small friendly bar that serves up wicked frozen margaritas. We loved it.

Weirdly cool place

By Dana H |

This place was great, not sure how we came across this but it is literally a trailer park themed bar, and it is awesome! Beers are good, service ok.

Cool place, decent food

By caroline1851 |

My mother, sister and I went here in December and had a great time. The décor is super fun to check out and fun! The drinks were great, food pretty good and service was fantastic!

Incredibly cute and great food

By Steven O |

I stumbled across this place accidentally and the little lady and I decided to see what it was all about. It is the epitome of every bad movie and story you have ever heard about trailer parks. The décor is amazing; I can't imagine where they found half of these items. The pictures on the walls, the old souvenir collectables...I could spend an hour walking around this little place and still not take in all the details. As for the food.... They have some unique, delicious signature dishes. We ordered a burger with chili on top, peppers, sour cream with a side of tater tots, I believe it was called "mother in laws revenge". We also ordered a cheese steak with the sweet potato fries. The food was excellent and the drinks were perfect!! ....We walked out of there thoroughly thrilled with the experience and discussing who we were going to bring with us next time we go.

Great decor, lousy food.

By Artful D |

Went here with my wife and 2 kids. My wife and I are in our mid 50s and our kids are 26 and 19. When we arrived we stood by the entrance door for a few minutes not sure if we should try and find a table or wait to be seen. After a few minutes the server appeared and stated we would have to grab a table when it becomes available and to get drinks at the bar in the meantime. However when I went to the bar the man behind the bar seemed confused as why I was there, I told him that the server had told us to get a drink from the bar and wait for a table he then said well if that's what the server has said it must be right. Not sure what he meant by that but we bought drinks and waited by the bar until a table became available. Mean while more people came in who were also looking for a table, it soon became obvious that they may get to a vacant table before us however we clocked a table that were about to leave and managed to grab that one. Thankfully. So having sat down we ordered more drinks and food and I ordered a burger and tater tots. when the food came out and I started to eat it I noticed that the burger tasted very unpleasant. Initially I thought they used a seasoning I was not used to but I then realised the meat in the burger had gone off.I should have complained but hate to cause a scene. However I did love the decor and the server was friendly even if the barman wasn't.

Quirky little bar in Chelsea

By Joe L |

Came here after getting off a long overnight coach from Toronto. Loved the quirky decor, especially the bathtub ice cooler. Nice cold beer and well priced. The food was lovely. I had a vegetarian sloppy Joe. Plenty of exciting veggie options too, which is sometimes not the case in some bars. Was served by Hannah who was friendly and attentive but not overbearing. Overall, a nice little bar with a style and menu that makes it stand out in the area.

Amazing little place!!

By Clairejshan |

Great little place with so much going!! East to find, right by 23rd street subway station. Staff so helpful and friendly. The margaritas are really good. The decor is amazing and there is so much to take in!! Lovely vibe, next time in NYC will be sure to go back!!

Fun!

This is an "I love it or I hate it" kind of place but we enjoyed it. I would recommend a couple of drinks and a snack here, but not necessarily dinner. We enjoyed all the goofy memorabilia on the walls and also enjoyed their margaritas and their Corona-Rita. They seemed to be short staffed on the Saturday night we visited (one waitress?) but she hustled and we were served in a fairly timely manner. For a unique experience, go for a visit here!

Awful bartender

By confidence-in-rain |

There were four of us in our party and the bartender said completely different, REALLY mean things to each of us. Overpriced place without a good selection. Don't waste your money, especially since the bartender is just going to be rude to you. There were stronger words in this review originally and I edited it because I don't know if tripadvisor lets you swear in reviews. Also I don't understand this whole obsession with bluegrass and trailer parks or whatever, but even if I were totally into that this bartender completely ruined our experience of the place.

Fun restaurant and bar in Chelsea district

By Brad 🇭🇰 |

We stopped at the Trailer Park Restaurant during an evening in Chelsea, more out of interest than anything else. They had a decent, small town, menu serving up tater-tots with many of the meals - Nice!!! We ordered a Philly steak sandwich (US$10.95) with cheese (US$2.25 extra) which tasted pretty good (rating 3.75 of 5) and two frozen strawberry margaritas (US$8.50 each) that were also quite good, not stingy on the tequila (rating 3.5 of 5). Overall, we quite liked our little meal and time spent in the Trailer Park Restaurant. The food was good enough, not too expensive and the restaurant was fully decked out in trailer house and park paraphernalia, making it an interesting and fun environment to spend an evening with friends.

Worth a Stop

By bluestourist |

We found this place by coincidence a couple years ago when staying in Chelsea. We were in NYC a couple weeks ago and stopped in again for a couple drinks. The atmosphere is extremely casual and fun. It is probably not for everyone but we like a fun place to have a couple drinks. Plenty of stuff to check out everywhere inside. We never tried any food so can't comment on that.

Boy they can cook a burger!

By Andbain |

Perfectly cooked and so delicious. We returned to trailer trash (as we called it) after enjoying it last time we were in NYC. You might walk by and think it looks dodgy, even the door looks uninviting! But trust me you will want to return after visiting. The inside is an Aladdin's cafe of pure trash but that only makes the place more special. My burger was cooked to perfection, the sweet potato fries were yum, the beer was cold, what more do you need?

Great Bar!

By rob b |

Miller High Life!! Other beers are onsale but when they have the champagne of beers, why bother? Really good food too - tots especially good. Friendly staff and a nice crowd, bith day and night.

Funky decor for casual dining

By Gavin B |

Don't be put off by the name, the Trailer Park Lounge is a great place to eat with friendly staff and a sensible menu. I took the family with kids who enjoyed hte big portions and themed decor.

So fun. Love the atmosphere

By b317 |

This was a really fun place to eat. Margaritas are great. It made me laugh to be there. Service was terrific.

Stop by for a beer!

By Linsmac13 |

We were walking from Pier and happened onto this place. Worth a stop for a beer and to take in the decor! Fun place!

If only you could eat the ambience...

By Dalia L |

This venue has the vintage trailer park look NAILED. From the trailer facade against one wall to the kitschy dinette tables, complete with ratty duct-taped upholstery, and old TV's running Hee-Haw video loops, the look is Disney-worthy. The food, however, is also authentically awful. Greasy, with all choices being of the saturated fat "Super-size me" variety. We inquired about the sweet potato fries and despite being assured that they are "home made" they were clearly freezer variety, albeit with "home spices" - like sugar and cinnamon. We loved the vintage music playing and there is a real, formica-clad bar. Also a loungey-area with cheapeaux furnishings perfect for small birthday parties. Bottom lining it: Looks authentic, kids will love everything, including the food, but the grown-ups will definitely need antacids.

Kitschy Fun

By Kate M |

Fun themed bar we stopped at before heading to a show at the UCB theater. The decor is everything and fits perfectly with all the hip kids drinking PBRs. The liquor however tasted very watered down.

Fun little gem for locals and tourists

By antart888 |

Margarita and fries you crave? This is the place. Nostalgic atmosphere that is eye candy all around. Friendly servers and good cocktails. You’ll have more than one and a cheesesteak to keep your belly full.

The kitchen is just awful.

By suzieQ2 |

This place is right next to our apartment. I want to love it, but I can’t. It is the second kitchen fail. The first time I ordered a chicken cheesesteak but they brought me beef instead. I ate it because I didn’t want to be a pain and I was enjoying hanging out there. That said. The front of the house staff is great ,but the kitchen is producing some of the worst food in NYC. I got a chicken cheesesteak sandwich tonight. Picked it up. Got home. No cheese, no onions, no flavor. Shredded microwaved chicken. Go drink here. Do not eat here. Obviously the owners care about the bar, and not the kitchen. Too bad.

Cool Bar with Interesting Decor

By Alexis |

I've been here a few times and always have fun. The bartenders are super nice, and they seem to be known for their frozen margs. My friend gets one there every time we go. The decor is amazing and "trashy" and it's super fun to look around at everything. Great for an instagram photo!

Late night stop

By honestopinionfrank |

People, don't complain about this place. Enjoy it for what it is, a quirky neighborhood bar, plain simple and to the point. Fun place to have a couple of simple drinks or cold beer, a nice change of pace compared to typical trendy bars in NYC. Real people, real place a nice place to visit, that's it. Make friends with the bar tender and you won't be disappointed. Great old collection of everything Americana, if you don't get the decor, then you don't get the place. I myself had the Miller High Life beer that I only can get a liquor store, but never at a bar. Along with tator tots, does it get any better ?

A NYC Must see

By WineMeister |

We were heading out for a movie, and needed to kill some time when we spied this interesting little bit of intrigue in Chelsea. The staff was very friendly, the drinks moderately priced and the atmosphere beyond distracting. We walked around to see all the craziness attached to the walls and the ceiling. We didn't have time to get anything to eat, this was just our pre-movie drink place, but I can say it looks like it deserves another visit from us. Give it a try, you'll love it!

retro to the max

By supermic |

We came across this place by accident twice! and we loved it. retro, original, weird, kitschy, trashy, unique you name it. It is just fun. Not a trendy NYC bar but with a bartender and other visitors you can actually have a conversation with (or just laughs)

Museum Sandwich

By Mary Jane D |

Trailer Park has the kind of antique memorabilia you might see at a chain restaurant like Chili's, but there it is real. You can spend your whole visit looking around at the vintage 50's and 60's kitch. It feels like a local museum one would see while traveling outide of NYC. The menu is like a 10-year-old's dream, with burgers, nachos and grill cheese. My grill cheese was crispy, rich and excellent overall.

Classic tacky, but real not fake

By IdaPole |

Great retro atmosphere. Totally against most electric and safety codes but lots of fun. Real not fake. Unfortunately drinks are normal high NYC prices. In Chelsea.

Pants beer on tap but good snacks...

By lizahawkins |

A must to experience, such a bizarre bar.. cheap beer and great chilli tater tots !! Great way to finish the night :)

A great little hole in the wall experience

By Mark L |

Saw a post about this place and thought we would check it out, we weren't disappointed, great staff and food was also well prepared, although only had burgers, sloppy joe, and tots, they were great. And I must say heavy handed on the drinks was even better.

Kitsch to the max! And so much fun for lunch.

By elizabethqueen |

The Trailer Park Lounge is worth a visit. It has the trailer park decor from top to bottom, and you can't help but look at all the crazy items, while old Elvis concerts play on old tv's. The beer on draft is served in a frosty mug, and the tater tots are delightful. The trailer parked in the middle of the room is awesome. Basically it was a relaxed, casual and fun vibe. Opened at 2pm on the day we went, so check hours.

A local gem.

By Kat H |

The Trailer Park Lounge is one of my favorite places to eat. Not many people know what it is when they walk by. From the outside, it looks like a junk store. But that's the beauty of it! The food is always good. Get the sweet potato fries. They're amazing. Bring cash because the minimum for credit is $20. Oh, and they serve Schaefer in a can!

Nostalgia

By Twolittlelores |

Nostalgia at its (trailer) trashiest! This lounge and grill located on 23rd is a gem packed wall to wall with remnants of yesteryears. Our personal favorites were the blow mold lawn ornaments (Who didn’t have those!?) and front seating area dedicated to bowling. During our visit my sister, friend, and I had lunch. None of us had been there before and were a little worried that the place was just going to be gimmicky and the food was going to be lacking. This wasn’t the case. The menu is pretty simple, burgers, sandwiches, nachos and a little pricey (but not much more than other restaurants in the area). I was getting over being sick and ordered a bowl of tomato soup. I was expecting restaurant bagged Campbell’s. Might have been the best bowl of tomato soup I have ever had. Definitely not Campbell’s and super rich and flavorful. My companions both ordered burgers with added cheese (that’s a separate cost) and other add ons (at additional cost). They said that they enjoyed their meals as well. If you’re in the area and have a chance, it worth the visit. Even if you don’t want a full meal, grab a drink and go explore. If you look hard enough, I’m sure there is something for everyone.

I love this place, the kitchiest bar in NYC

By Victor B |

Super cocktails, ambiance du tonnerre, si vous aimez le kitch et les ambiances bizarres vous ne serez pas déçus !! Good cocktails, nice lights, stunning ambiance... If you like kitch and strange ambiance you won't be desapointed

Dive-y, yummy lunch stop in Chelsea

By SurfStrider |

Would never have picked this off the street, but when you're traveling with someone in the know . . . . Random Route 66-style throwback decor, waitress with an attitude, and hot fried food made this a lively lunch stop. Fried quesadilla? Whoa. Spoiled for life. Self-described as trailer park cuisine. You'll get in and out on your lunch hour but you'll be leaving smug and happy.

Unexpected bar in NYC

By Monica P |

When I think of visiting bars in the city, my mind thinks classy. Not the Trailer Park. The decor is cheesy, however fun to look at. We only went for drinks- I thought the prices would be a little bit cheaper to go with the name of the place, but it's New York and I should've known better. If you have the time, I would stop by to check out the place. We met a few other tourists- a few staying at a nearby hostel, so not sure if there's typically a lot of younger people who go there. There's a number of other places in walking distance to also check out.

High Marks for Veggie Options

By schroederjt |

Fun place for good old American comfort food, but with excellent vegetarian options. Also good prices for New York, and tasty drinks. Service was not attentive, but that seemed to be part and parcel of their low key kitsch. Very close to the theater for the Upright Citizens Brigade, so if you're looking for somewhere to grab a bite before one of their shows, you can't go wrong here.

Fun eclectic place in the

By tracy m |

Fun eclectic place in the city. No frills. Lots of stuff to look at- food was good- a little pricey but expected

You have to visit this place!

By thrahtobe |

We loved this place very unique bar staff were mad and crazy. The caravan and all the little bits around the bar were cool. Also they do happy hour but sure on times though. Give this place a try you will love it.

Fun theming, good margaritas

By meryll83 |

Really quiet during the day midweek, but fun theming still to be seen and a really tasty margarita made!

Pop your head in for a laugh, then RUN

By EezJoostMe |

I live in the city, and have friends who perform nearby at UCB, so we are often in the area. We've been to Trailer Park a few times--always mediocre at best, but fun and silly enough to keep us entertained. Here is a fair evaluation: The decor is playful and funny and worth a gander. There are all kinds of treasures tucked away here and there, and it is set up just as you would imagine. The prices are too high, point blank. You're going to pay close to $5 for a PBR, which is an absolute joke. I don't drink, but I know my friends refuse to come here for this overpriced bar. The staff is rude rude rude. The last time we arrived, primarily for some tater tots, our party of six was ignored for about ten minutes. Most of us currently are or previously have been in food service, so we are VERY polite to our waitstaff. We tried calling over the server and asked if we could order drinks. She VERY nastily looked at us, rolled her eyes and snapped "Yeah, in a minute". When she finally came over, she continued in this manner. We chalked it up to her having a bad day, until a massive roach began wandering about, sending me and several other patrons running away from our tables. I tried to bring it to her attention, and once again she snapped at our party, saying "This is Manhattan, what do you expect?!". Seriously? SERIOUSLY?! What do I expect? An apology. A touch of decency. Something. I'm not even saying I need a percentage off the meal--I'm just saying it might be nice if you showed a bit of respect to the guests who are going out of their way to make excuses for your rotten attitude! At this point, she went over to her manager, I kid you not, pointed to our table, and they started laughing at our "overreaction". Yah. Well, that was it. Our entire party paid the check and walked out. I couldn't believe how nasty the entire experience was. I've since learned that a number of other friends have had similar experiences with both roaches and rude staff (wish I'd known before!). Clearly, I make sure my out of town guests and local acquaintances know this place is nothing more than a gimmick. Take a look if you like, but DON'T waste your money!

Fun, kitschy place

By pxb123 |

The Trailer Park Lounge and Grill is a fun place with great atmosphere. It is worth visiting for the decor alone. The food is average. The mac n cheese is disappointing.

Not bad ... terrible.

By Ryan L |

I’ve lived in New York for my whole life, and this was the worst bar I have ever been to. Bartenders and patrons were rude and feeding their dog chicken bones at the bar. The place was empty (I’m talking 1/4 full). There were at least 7 open tables. The staff would not let our party of 6 sit at empty tables without ordering food. When we moved empty bar stools near a bar table to accommodate our group , we were met with “indiscreet” passive-aggressive comments like “cant wait until they f***king leave” and “can you believe this s**t?” We voiced our discontent within the group (to ourselves, probably a little too loudly) and then they served an obligatory 20% gratuity on our one drink each. When my girlfriend went to the bathroom, there was a woman passed out on the floor and blocking the door (they were notified of this and didn’t care). I’d let all this pass if the bar were packed, but it was essentially dead. Basically I’ll say it like this: these are the kinds of businesses that deserve to starve in this city. 1 Star for creative decor though... I’ve been to actual trailer parks that are friendlier and more open-minded than this sorry excuse for a bar.

Great place to have dinner and a drink!

By MississippiMatt |

Loved it! This place takes kitsch to a new level. Friendly service and the food was good. We enjoyed the happy hour specials with PBR and Margaritas on the cheap. I had the Mother in laws revenge and it was very good. We had a couple of drinks and walked through and took a few pictures and soaked up all the "art" on the walls. Fun little bar.

Great margarita

By meryll83 |

Having enjoyed our first visit earlier this year we dropped back in for a margarita and enjoyed sitting at the front of the bar in the sunshine.

Trashy never felt so good

By Frank C |

Enjoying a beer in a trailer park doesn't sound like a great idea, but this place totally works -- neon lights, diner style eats (think smothered tots), and a nice selection of happy hour specials and drinks makes this a must stop if you're in the area. The staff were awesome like others have said, and they were always checking in with us. Would definitely stop back in here for a snack or drink, especially to check out the kitschy decor when friends are in town. Pro tip: If you're traveling with a small group mid-day to early evening, snagging the comfy seating in the front is great for people watching. Stay trashy friends ;)

Great Fun and Great food

By Angela046 |

Im not a lover of greasy, deep fried junk food (sorry!) but this place has great Kitsch stuff all over the place and good chicken ,vege and meat burgers , hot dogs and hash browns (no desserts or coffee) but for a burger and beer its great

Bad customer service

By J1234567789 |

Watched helplessly as the “manager” berated paying customers as they attempted to sit down and order. Maybe an off night for the manager, but very disgusted in how these gentleman were treated. I guess the trailer park style is to encourage customers to make announcements that you'd like to order because you won’t be served or treated correctly otherwise.

Very Cool Place to Get Together with Friends

Went here with friends for dinner and I truly enjoyed it. We had a great waitress, the food was good and the place is filled with alot of Elvis items and old machines. Very interesting

Trailer Trash Fun!!

By rosannabutler |

So many things to look at - love the concept and the photo booth is really fun. The dog and pony cocktail is worth trying - a corona in a frozen margarita! Happy hour is every day 4-6pm so worth grabbing a frozen margarita or a cold can of PBR then

What a surprise

By nricciiii |

Had actually never even heard of this place and stumbled on it. Fun atmosphere full of old nostalgia. Great barmaid. And where else do you order a Sloppy Joe? It was delicious!!! Will definitely go back!

Fun place to grab a quick drink and bite to eat

By adrian h |

Went to Trailer Park Lounge early evening with my 16 year old niece visiting NYC. Really quirky place, decor looks amazing and really well done - kitch to the max and some of the stuff is unbelievable. Staff were efficient but friendly. Menu was not very big, only one side on a table stand, so we went for the burger (Mother-in-Law) - well, it was one of the best burgers I have ever tasted. The meat was fantastic and beautifully cooked.

Very nice happy hour bar

By Fredrik F |

very nice staff, very tasty margarithas and surprisingly good burgers. Very small bar/restaurant. Just a beer and a burger at the bar, a meal at the table or just chilling with a margaritha in the lounge. Very nice place if you like 50s memorablia, rock n roll and relaxed atmotsphere

simple family dining, decorated in a very fun way. Food was ok, served in plastic dishes (kinda retro-ish), drinks very strong!!

Comfort food and drinks in a fun and charming place

By TulsiTime70 |

I am glad that the Trailer Park Lounge survives as I was a little worried about them during shutdowns. It's still there and it's still a good time with fun and interesting people. The menu is fun with vegetarian options. A nice break from stuffy yuppie Chelsea cocktail bars. Bring back the t-shirts!

Happy hour outing

Loved the decor of this place, and I mean how can you not love the name either. Great atmosphere and service. Would definitely be coming back here!

Always a Good Time!

By Coachdogg00 |

Cold drinks, great comfort food (you gotta get the tater tots!), and a fun group of people make the Trailer Park Lounge a great place to grab a quick drink and bite, celebrate a happy hour, or settle in for a long night. Always a friendly crowd and such a relaxed atmosphere. Can't wait to stop in again to see Chris, Trish, and Meg!

Unique place in NYC

By jmb66606 |

WE go to the city once a month and always look for something new to see. I looked this up on line so we tried it. We did not eat only stopped in for a drink the place was so cool all stuff from back in the day. The bartender was so friendly she went above and beyond great drinks good prices and would go again.......

Fun place and decor!

By LondonLassE1 |

We enjoyed our dinner here. The decor really is something else! Unlike anywhere else I've been. Really unusual, interesting and fun. Food is fairly standard and typical American food - burgers, sandwiches, chili, tater tots etc. As with many places in the US - surprised by the amount of plastic and waste. It's table service, and would consider this more of a restaurant than a fast food place, but drinks served in plastic cups and food in plastic baskets - so wasteful and not environmentally friendly.

very fun

By David A |

Was a bit quiet when we went in and got a late lunch, but nothing was to much trouble. Great food and spend the arvo reading the walls

It's meh

By Emily P |

Don't get me wrong, the decor is GREAT! It's silly and loud and makes perfectly no sense at all. Hula girls, Elvis, Marilyn and bright colors. Not to mention the toilet bowl and bath tub at the front of the location. All that is great, however the food is mediocre at its best. I wanted to order a phili cheese steak, however nothing came on it. If i wanted cheese, peppers and onions, well that'd be extra. So, I opted to get something else. Portions are disappointing especially for the price. Our waitress was nice, however she wasn't all that attentive. I more than likely won't be coming back.

Trailer Trash

By Lindsay E |

Well I guess you can't expect much from a place that looks like a trashy trailer. My mom and I were wandering around Chelsea when we stumbled upon this place, we thought it looked funny and would try it out for a drink. When we sat down, the bar tender came over to take our orders. He asked both my mom and I for ID's, my mom was surprised that he had asked her as she is clearly over the drinking age. Instead of explaining why, he decided to completely embarrass and condescend us. Saying things like "I obviously said I want both your ID's, I said everyone at the table, are you sitting at the table, well I obviously want your ID then" he made it so unbelievably awkward and embarrassing. This is no way to treat anyone, especially a customer. We ordered terrible margaritas and left as soon as possible. Save your $10/drink and go somewhere else!
