Very much enjoyed an evening here with business colleagues and customers. Low key frontage you can easily miss doesn't shout out to visit, but you should. Family portions (which can be an issue for us brits) but family portions of great food. Really enjoyed the Italian sausage and peppers starter, the chicken milanese, just what the doctor ordered after a long day.

A favorite Italian restaurant. Upscale and different from others. Bustling. Very good service, with senior staff oversight that is notable and caring. Better food than you might expect. An antipasto table from which you can request a small or large assortment. Plenty of appetizers and then main courses that satisfy individual preferences. An appropriate wine selection. While the dessert menu was not extensive the lemon tart I picked was a great choice. Happy for the reopening, the venue was crowded and lively once more. Highly recommended. New York City pricing.

Our favorite restaurant in New York City! Great Italian food, ambience, location (across from Carnegie Hall and away from chaos), high end, exceptional service and quality drinks and meals. We ate here the 2 nights were stayed in NYC because it is that good! The best lasagna and branzino fish with lemon spinach. The service on the first night from Mo, our attendant was truly exceptional. He knew what to recommend, kept coming by and refilling our wine glasses and water and he was personable, with an amazing attitude and willingness to make our dinner memorable and remarkable. This is THE restaurant to visit when visiting NYC.

The options in midtown before a show at City Center or Carnegie Hall are limited and this may be one of the better choices. However, it is very expensive for what it is- only one bottle of wine under $50 on the menu- and the food is mixed. We started with the choice of three antipasto and our eggplant caponata and spinach with lemon were good but the vegetable tart wasn’t a tart at all- just soggy cauliflower. I had pasta with artichokes but the artichokes were burned and tasteless and the portion was very small. The cannoli was good and for a change was surrounded by a blueberry compote the compote was canned. We had a good server- I think his name was Anthony- but it is a large place and very loud. Convenient before a show but no reason to go otherwise.

This is the perfect restaurant before a concert at Carnegie Hall or a Broadway play. We were promptly seated after we checked in with the manager and greeted by our friendly and knowledgeable waiter Anis who gave us good recommendations. We all enjoyed our selections, especially the pastas. Great desserts. Our favorite was the Tiramisu. All thanks to Anis and the manager Jusuf, our dining experience before a Carnegie Hall concert was most enjoyable. No wonder they were consistently recommended by our hotel concierge over the years.

This bustling incredibly delicious restaurant does not disappoint. We adored all our servers and agreed with everyone, the lasagna is simply insanely delicious and you won’t finish! We had the most delightful servers, who made sure our water glasses were full and despite waving off another glass of wine (as we tried to budget our unbudgetable day) - we were treated to two glasses of wine. Just an absolute delight of a restaurant. Completely 100% worth the visit!

We really enjoyed our meal at this excellent restaurant. The dishes are delicious and the service is professional and pleasant. A bit too expensive but warmly recommended.

Great food, staff was so kind. Good location. It was pleasure for me to visit this place. I recommend this Italian restaurant.

Delicious food. Extraordinary location. Bold and contemporary decoration that provides a cheerful atmosphere in keeping with the casual label of the place. The service: excellent. Conclusion: A gem of Italian food, casual, next to Carnegie Hall. Post data: cannoli are extraordinary.

Every visit to NYC must include lunch or drinks sitting at the bar and meeting Victor the bartender. Before you know it, your experience there will include many stories and meeting many of his friends that are regulars. Food and aura is top drawer and when you leave, you will tell everyone of how much you enjoyed every thing about this place.

Loved this spot for our last dinner out in NY! Chicken Parmesan & Lobster Spaghetti Carbonara were absolutely amazing! The restaurant is charming & the staff were friendly, warm & inviting. I highly recommend dining here.

Five of us had an excellent brunch here before a show. Beautiful room. Our waiter, Jean, was very attentive and accommodating. The food was wonderful. We shared a platter of five interesting vegetables. We all enjoyed our entrees too. Desserts were exceptional.- the lemon tart and cannolis - best ever! The only disappointment were the watery Bloody Marys.

We had dinner here. Waiter was extremely attentive, helpful, warm & personable. Food was amazing. I had the vegetable medley from the deli bar - 5 vegetables. Authentic Italian and charming place. Eat outdoors, indoors at table, at bar or at deli counter.

The dining room is immense. There are private rooms, too. You almost cannot get any closer to CarnegieHall, if you want to eat before or after a performance. The waitstaff is wonderful. These are professionals, not people wanting to do something else.. Good luck getting out of here for under $50 and possibly much more. We shared a pizza and some roasted vegetables. Each would have been better prepared at the late, lamented Marta restaurant. Neither dish stayed hot so we should have asked that they be served one after another.

Can't say enough about this place! Jonathan, the manager, somehow makes you feel right at home, while maintaining a truly polished and urbane manner. The food is exceptional - each morsel of the au gratin melted in my mouth. My daughter said the pizza is some of the best she's had. And to top it all off, my daughter has severe food allergies, and the kitchen staff and Jonathan were completely on top of that too! Hope to come back next time we're in Manhattan!

For the price charged the food and service should be better. Dishes felt like heated in a microwave, nothing unique. Service not pleasant (as a sumarry)

One of our favorite restaurants in NYC. Comfortable setting and great food and ambience. The antipasto bar is incredible. And this time we tried the sole and lobster ravioli which was fantastic. The wine list is extensive and the desert tray not to be missed!

I have eaten in dozens of new youk italian restaurants and this was by far the worst meal. Given the location I discounted the crowd leaving for Carnegie Hall and our server was pleasant, but my wife's Vodka Tonic was served with flat tonic. The wine arrived after we had finished the pasta, which was average at best. I make a better sauce at home. The hearts of palm salad had 4 pieces of palm. The canolli was great, but over all a disappointing meal, particularly compared to so many others we have had in the city.

What a treat! This restaurant was great! Not only was it beautiful, but the food was out of this world! We went right before a show and they were able to get us in and out so that we would be on time. The wait staff was friendly and very accommodating. The restaurant is walking distance from Times Square!

Straight off the bat we had appetisers minutes after sitting down, then ordered 4 pizzas to share. Which were THE BEST I’ve had, ever! Big thanks to Jonny for the top service.

This restaurant is right around the corner from Carnegie Hall and has been in business for years. They must be doing something right! The food is not wonderful, but perfectly OK, and they understand that their job is to get you out in time for whatever show you are going to. Service is friendly and vey efficient. A great choice if you're going to Carnegie Hall.

Visited with a group of 3 friends. Warm friendly service and quickly shown to our tables. We all opted for pizza which was thin and crispy and really good. Drinks were a mixture of beer and wine. Bill came to $240 for 4 which was ridiculously overpriced. Each pizza was up to $30 each!! Much more reasonable options available.

This is a regular stop for me whenever I visit New York City. I’ve never been disappointed here. The food is always delicious and the service is outstanding. This is a great all around restaurant.

I did takeout and after receiving an alert from Grubhub that my order was ready to be picked up, I walked over to the restaurant. As soon as I got there and told the host I was ready to pick my order up, he quickly brushed me off and told me it’s not ready. I had to wait for another 15 minutes, which was ridiculous. Not sure whether it’s the app or the restaurant’s fault, but the host definitely could have been nicer about it. He never checked in to update me on the process while I was awkwardly standing there, never offered me a seat. Did not apologize once for the inconvenience. I spoke to another manager about this and he was slightly more pleasant to deal with, but he also did not apologize. The food was actually good. I really liked their meatballs and zucchini Parmesan, though the spaghetti was way too al dente, practically undercooked. It’s a shame their service is so bad because otherwise this place could have become one of my neighborhood spots. If I patronize this place again, I will definitely be doing delivery. Do not want to interact with their staff again.

I had a later supper than usual at Trattoria Dell Arte. The restaurant is really nice, the service was great and so was the food. I had 3 selections from the vegetable antipasto, the tart, the carrots and the potatoes, all very good. If there is one thing that was a little less great, it was the hostess. I had made a reservation, for one, and when I arrived, she took 2 menus until she checked my reservation and seemed to panic that I was alone. She didn't seem to do what to do with a single person and had to ask someone who looked like a manager to help her sit this single person (me, yes, just me). It was a rough start, however, the waiter was so nice that he entirely made up for what seemed to be the hostess' inexperience.

Best food and cocktails in NYC! Shout out to Nicole, Jeff, Victor, Marco and all the staff. It’s my to go place to go. Great atmosphere

The food here is very good and delicious. The eggplant cabonata was outstanding and so was the artichoke alla guidea. The chicken cutlet special with pepperoni and mozzarella was really good and a large portion. We also enjoyed the speggheti and meatballs. The bronzino was excellent and whole but deboned. The tartufo dessert was huge and wonderful. You can get a reasonable bottle of Nero d Avola for $50. Service was friendly and attentive.

Great Italian restaurant good for families out of the Times Square and theatre fray, but close enough to walk. We spent a good 2.5 hours at dinner with good friends we hadn’t seen in a long time (party of 9) and were treated very well and not rushed. Ambiance was great. Very cute little tables for 2 in the front corners :) food was good dessert was great. Reasonable wine list. Can book on open table. I’d visit again. Thanks!

Visited for dinner with my wife and daughter. This is a large, open restaurant - a bit loud and a bit garrish in abience. The service and food were just OK. In fact, the veal I ordered as my main was a little less than OK - it tasted good, but was actually low quality and tough. What was great though, and what I would return for is dessert. The canolis were the best I have had in years!

Excellent pasta, especially the lasagna with more than 100 layers. In addition to pasta, dishes such as ossibuco are very tasty and so are the pizzas. Wine is expensive as in all of New York, so the most affordable are glasses.

Well, what can I say? What an amazing authentic Italian restaurant this is would recommend to anybody. Everything literally melts in your mouth and want a massive shout out to Joey D. Best waiter in New York.!!

We celebrated Thanksgiving and my debut choir performance at Carnegie Hall NYC last November and had a great experience here in this restaurant. 1. Location: Perfect as it was in front of Carnegie Hall where my event is. Ambiance is a cozy Italian type eatery. 2. Food & Price : Italian yummy pizza margherita and salad which is fair-priced and affordable. 3. Customer Service: Topnotch! The server, reception staff were all warm to welcome us on that cold afternoon day. They even offered us some free cookies & drinks to celebrate my debut performance with the choir at Carnegie Hall. We will definitely come back to try the other food there again once we return to NY!

There are many great restaurants in NYC, but this one stands out amongst the rest. From the time you arrive, you feel you have come home. Joesph and the staff make you feel like family. They are attentive and kind, steering you in the right direction for the many excellent choices the menu has to offer. I feel as if we had a personal dining experience. We ordered the loaf of garlic bread, eggplant parmigiana, veal piccata, shrimp scampi, Caesar salad, cauliflower and grilled asparagus, and the tiramisu for desert. The garlic bread was warm, crispy, with a soft melt in your mouth garlic oil interior. Amazing! My mother could not have baked one as well. The sauce on the eggplant Parmesan was the most simple mouthwatering eloquence I have ever had. It rivaled any Michelin star restaurant I have been too. The veal had a buttery silky sauce that everyone had to taste. You could cut the veal with a fork. Though I did not taste the shrimp scampi, the plump shrimp was served over polenta with surrounding sauces. Picture perfect! I give the tiramisu a 10/10. I don’t know who made it, but if he is single, I would marry him for that dessert alone. Caesar salad was delicious. I could not find one thing that did not excel with this meal except for Joesph and the staff. They are the real stars of this place. Thank you for welcoming us to your home.

Very nice restaurant The price is very good $$$ The menu is ok The pizza is incredible !!!you need to try Don’t need reservation The service is very good

This was our first time at TDA, and we were not disappointed at all. Vanessa P was super with recommendations and keeping us happy. The Halibut with Lobster Ravioli was well prepared, well served, and delicious. Also enjoyed the Risotto with Scallop and mushrooms; a new favorite of ours. The Limoncello Tart and Twin Cannoli proved to be terrific desserts; probably could have shared one! Thanks for the special anniversary table, and for a memorable dinner!

Good food and good service in nice setting. Tried pizza, pasta and dessert. Pleasantly surprised with quality and taste of dishes. It's a nice restaurant for any occasion, close to Carnegie hall (across the street), many hotels, etc.

Average and somewhat overpriced. I am perplexed on its good review on average. I wanted Italian for lunch that day that was close to our hotel at Shertaton Times Square. After reviewing Italian restaurants within walking distance this seemed to be the best rated and best described. I can sum it up with this. One review I read had "best pasta ever". When I see that I am thinking it may not be the best (as I've had truly great pastas) but I figure it should at least be very good. I ordered the spaghetti Pomodoro. Now the sauce was good and the portion size was big (so thumbs up for those two facts), but the actual spaghetti was plain dried spaghetti. Even amongst dried pastas there can be really good ones and very ordinary ones - and this one was ordinary. No way anyone that has eaten a lot of great pastas can say this is the best (which made me think either that reviewing really does not eat good Italian or the review is "questionable"). The overall lunch "taste" was average at best. On an absolute basis the prices were reasonable but not for that quality. New York has so many great places to eat. For Italian my favorite is Lupa (higher end, but not high-end) , but was too far to grab lunch on more quickly basis I was in NY for a weekend stay and great food is one factor to enjoying New York so feel this lunch was a wasted opportunity to experience great food in New York. The highlight dining experiece this trip was La Grande Boucherie, which right where our hotel was. I felt the food and dining experience was even better than spending twice as much to go to La Pavillion - a Michelin 1 Star that I booked only because we had tickets to go the Summit afterwards.

One of the best restaurants I have been to in a long time! Definitely make reservations. It was very busy, even for a Wednesday night. My husband and I were seated upstairs. It was loud and bustling, but to me, that just added to the excitement and atmosphere. I consider myself a foodie and I have high expectations, which usually leaves me disappointed and dissatisfied, but NOT here!! The wine was delicious (Savignon Blanc) and I ordered the 101 layer lasagna... OMG sooo delicious! Some of the best food I've ever had. Don't tell my mom who has Italian lineage, but it was better than what she or my grandmother ever made! It melted in your mouth and just made you want more. There are SOOOO many other things I want to try from their menu, but I don't know if inwill ever be able to shy away from that delectable dish. I may need to order two meals just for myself! We were too full to order dessert and that made me sad as I would have liked to have gotten their tiramisu. We live two hours away, but I've already told my husband we HAVE to go back!

My friend and I ate here on our last night in the city. We had requested a seat outside but it was too humid so that sat us inside right by the window overlooking carnegie hall. The menu was really vast but I decided to have a pizza which came as a flatbread, it was delicious with plenty of topping but huge so my friend helped me eat it. For starters were shared garlic bread which came as a loaf you had to cut. A sample dessert board was brought over and we chose the ice cream covered in chocolate to share. When it came it had a sparkler in it and they presented it to my friend and the staff and restaurant sang happy birthday, we had not requested this so it was a really lovely surprise. The staff were friendly and attentive though it did take a while to get the bill and they said my credit card was declined which we didn't entirely believe as I had used it prior to the meal and had no trouble using it later in the evening.

Tired, expensive and one to avoid. Our worst food all week and probably ever in a city we have visited many times. Perhaps we were naive to expect much but boy were we disappointed and to top it off my wife was ill afterwards. Avoid restaurants in this area of NY as they just live off tourists who will never be back and expect 20-25% tip in the process….

If you are looking for excelent service true italian food, and great ambience this is the restaurant for tou. The quality pf our food was superb but the best was the service provided feom our waiter Joseph. We cant wait to come back and taste other things from the menu.

The portions are very small. I order scallops, they brought just 3 with some vegetables. Will never return.

It all started at the front door. We were greeted by the maitre d' and handed flutes of champagne with a sincere "happy anniversary" greeting. We had asked for a quiet romantic booth in our reservation request and we got it, seated in the back corner. The our server, Gen came to the table, and the magic began. He, too, wished us a happy anniversary . We ordered a bottle of excellent wine, a shaved Brussels sprout salad and a loaf of garlic bread (an absolute must!). I had the exquisite lobster carbonara and my wife had the scallop and mushroom risotto. All perfectly paced, delicious and presented delightfully. Gen paced the meal, knowing when to check in and when to watch from afar. His service was perfect. He really wants his customers to have the best time possible. There was a difficult table next to us whom he handled professionally. I would have stabbed their hands with a fork! We ordered the cannolis- another must get), and they were served with a sparkler! And a huge smile. Gen wished us happy anniversary again and walked us out. It was a perfect evening celebration and we will be back, but only if Gen is still there!!!

got us in & out on a tight turnaround , due to theater tickets, but didn't rush us or skimp on quality of food

Fabulous food.. great atmosphere and very handy location.. v near Carnegie Hall Fantastic choice of dishes.. everything that went past to other people looked fabulous

We went to this restaurant as they had gluten free options in midtown west. Take my advice, skip it. They had a number of people arrive at 6 pm and had no idea how to seat tables. We were 5 crammed into a 4 person table. It took 45 minutes to have our order taken. I ordered the Dover sole petit which was an ordinary piece of flounder. Their gf pizza was ok, but nothing great. The bill came and the snuck on 2 desserts we did not order. The waiter did not apologize and took 20 minutes to fix it. Over priced and terrible service.

Every time I visit Manhattan I use to go to Trattoria Dell'Arte but the last two times it was totally disappointing. Very poor and disorganized service, small portions , low quality preparation of food and drinks and expensive prices. Definitely, not worth it a new visit.

We’ve been coming here for years and the food, service & ambience remain consistently good. Classic dishes (definitely try the “white”pizza) and an amazing vegetarian bar that anyone would like. Walking to theaters and Central Park.

I have been here a couple of dozen times over the last 10 years or so. I don't live in NY, but went here once, and loved it, so every time I go to NY I always go. Unfortunately, the place has changed, and the menu was downsized removing my favorite meal. What I had instead was still good, but I likely won't be back anymore as I always went specifically for the same meal.

Amazing Service Staff!! Best Pizza ever - take the Supreme Version! Constant supply of free water and good wine recommendations.

Awesome service and the food was delicious. Nothing was too hard for the kitchen despite having a fussy 4 yo. Highly recommended and great location.

Friends back at home in the UK had recommended this restaurant and we were so grateful that they did. The service was some of the friendliest and most attentive we've experienced anywhere in the world. Prosecco "on the house" on arrival, cheerful but not intrusive conversation from our waiter, and a real sense that grown-ups were in charge — in fact there appeared to be two maitre'd's who kept the whole place running with convivial efficiency. Although it was a busy Thursday lunchtime, we left feeling we had been the only customers in the place. I had three vegetarian selections from the antipasti "table" (counter) while my husband had chicken paillard, plus we shared a delicious garlic bread. Apart from one of the vegetable dishes (broccoli with raisins) being far too bitter for my taste, it was all excellent. However, I don't think I'd really mind what was on my plate here; it's just lovely being at Trattoria Dell'Arte and we hope to revisit for a second time before the end of our trip. Thank you to the kitchen and front-of-house staff for a really memorable first day in town.

I had read about Trattoria Dell'Arte in a NYTimes article about local restaurants whose ambiance, staff and food can define a city. Plus, I'm always looking for a special restaurant near Lincoln Center. Trattoria was everything I had hoped for. We were met by experienced older waiters, taken right to our table in a handsome and well appointed dining room. Service was excellent. We explained we had a 7:30 opera performance and had no trouble making it. Both of us ordered the veal piccata and it was wonderful - among the best I've ever had. By the tine we left, the restaurant was crowded - interestingly by a mostly white-haired clientele. It is now among my favorite NYC restaurants and I look forward to returning.

Great menu, excellent cuisine and service, loved the unlimited bubbles for 20! Lovely ambience, better than most in NYC!

Excellent dinner at this standout Italian in the theatre district A real buzz in the air when you walk in. Every table in this large restaurant is jammed and all you hear is contentment and laughter. Everyone is having a good time and eating delicious food as well. The wait staff are an act too. Entertaining to say the least. We ordered the salmon with avacado on toast that was delicious then I had the veal Milanese which was superb. All with a yummy Gavi and a lemon tart to wrap it up. We will certainly come back soon

Pretty much as outlined by other reviews - good location and ambience, attentive staff, but noisy. Food was pricey and below average. The vegetable appetizer plate and deserts were good. Dinner not so much - veal chop was fatty, steak was tasteless and waiter’s recommendation of their special lasagna was not good. Probably should have had the pizza.

Recommended to us by a friend back at home in the UK, did not disappoint! gorgeous food, generous portions and lovely wait staff. Thank you!

I had the best pasta at this restaurant - fennel sausage and pesto - it was delicious. Perfect portion. The ambience was great and the staff were excellent.

Does the fact that we ate here three nights in row, say something? The staff is so full of personality and accommodating, it was icing on the cake...because the food is excellent! I'm sure if we had another night in the city, we'd eat here again! Thank you to Guy, Johnny, John, Victory & Sage!!!

Great menu. Fantastic Italian cooking. Impeccable service. Kind management. Look forward to a return trip soon. Great location near theater district.

Really nice restaurant with lovely setting and good service. Pasta dishes were nice if not a little plain. Lasagne was really nice and Ossobuco was lovely.

I am a food lover, especially pasta, and when I find myself at the table I would always like to see abundant dishes, especially pasta. Today I went to this restaurant, found it by chance. I must say very good 😋 and in my opinion expensive for just a few ravioli, I would have added a few more and made the customer leave the table happier 😉🍽️ I am a lover of food, especially pasta, and when I find myself at the table I always like to see generous plates of pasta in particular. Great Italian food in a fun, non-stuffy environment. The bar manager was very detailed and ensured my espresso martini was just the right amount of frothy. They also offered us a bite of fresh made chocolate cookies. Once seated, our server, Sage, was attentive, fun, and happily answered all of our questions. We didn’t feel rushed as we lingered over dessert and coffee. Overall a great experience with delicious food.

I like their thin and crispy pizzas, fried artichoke was really good However this time the service was too slow we almost missed our show

Solid Italian restaurant with solid service. If you can try to make reservation in back of restaurant

Sister restaurant to Red Eye Grill and Fiorellos. All three are excellent. Have been to the Trattorria three times. I have never had a bad meal in any of these three.

Being gluten free in such a culinary mecca as NYC can be terrible. Then we found Tattoria. Gluten free pasta in their homemade pesto was some of the best Italian food I have had in my life! My wife and son loved their meals as well. The service was great, the wine list is very solid and the overall experience was incredible. I would highly recommend this restaurant when in Manhattan.

Had a reservation at 6:15pm for a party of 6. At 7:20pm, when we were done but still finishing drinks, the waiter said they had a party of 10 and needed to combine tables and to wrap it up. Wow! After spending $430 this is how we were treated. When we left the table we stood in the smallish bar area and I addressed the manager asking if he thought that was appropriate. He said “no” and to sit in the area by window and he’d buy us a round of drinks. At that point an Uber was already called so wasn’t an option. Take this experience as you see fit when determining whether to dine here.

This is our new favorite restaurant in NYC! We go to NYC a couple of times a year and usually stay at Park Central, can't believe we've never eaten here before. It's decor is bright & fun, the staff wonderfully attentive. We arrived early, around 5pm, and decided to have drinks before dinner. Our waiter Sean (Shawn?) was both professional and fun, not your usual NY dining experience. The drinks were excellent, and the menu had lots of Italian classics as well as an antipasto bar and pizzas. We ordered from the Restaurant week menu, and what a bargain that was! We will definitely return.

Had thanksgiving dinner with our extended family today at Trattoria Dell'Arte in NYC. Having a choice between ordering off the menu or having the thanksgiving prefix was very nice, and the prefix was very good. The issue was with options for a dairy free (DF) member of our party. Their profile says that they are vegan friendly and they are not. They do have vegetarian options which are full of cheese which leaves vegans or DF guests stuck with just vegetables or kids pasta. My daughter said the the kids pasta at Olive Garden was way more flavorful than theirs. Our waiter said that DF is difficult at an Italian restaurant but plenty of places do a great job of this. It’s simply laziness and lack of creativity to serve vegans and DF diners so poorly.

The restaurant was recommend by our Conceirge and we can see why. It has a great atmosphere, very authentic, fabulous food and service. Would highly recommend.

Excellent Italian food, great service and atmosphere! Good for a dinner date and even good for families. The deserts are amazing!

This traditional standby still comes through as a great place to have a very good and pleasant dinner before a performance at Carnegie Hall. It’s pricey, but in-line with other landmark New York favorites.

Very busy restaurant on two floors but we soon got a table upstairs, tables are close together. The waiters were friendly and very quick to take drink and food orders. The lasagne was really nice but a large portion. The cannoli was excellent.

Good place. Very good kale salad, as well as veal dishes, and also seafood with noddles in a tomato-based sauce. Food is not heavy, which is good, except for desert, where portions are huge!

The manager, Jonathan, and our server, Rafael, too excellent care of us. Even the person providing water (can't recall his name, from Bangladesh) was very friendly and attentive. The food was a cut above what I was expecting, especially the pizza, which (hard to explain) seemed to melt in your mouth, and was very light (Sorry not a food reviewer). Also, they took very good care of our child's food allergies to nuts.

Cute, little Italian spot right down from our hotel. Was seated quickly, but didn't get any service for about 10ish minutes. Hated that our water glasses were tiny & it seemed like I was constantly out of something to drink. Garlic loaf & caesar salad were great but entree was just not that great. Seafood parpadelle was just too fishy to me & the sauce really had zero taste. Friend had the ravioli & loved it.

I live on West 57th street. The food wad excellent but more importantly the manager Marco greeted everyone and made a very great impression. He is on it. The food was cooked perfect. had the Halibut I highly recommend it. Drinks were great dessert was over the top, this was all under the watchful eye of the manager. Thank you Marco. We will be back soon,

We met friends for a 7:30 dinner while in town from Chicago. The waiter gave us all of the time we needed, allowing us to enjoy a leisurly dinner. The Caeser salad, which they split for us, was as good as any. The chicken pepperoni parmigiana was a truely unique entree: it came out looking like a good-size pepperoni pizza, only the crust was chicken pounded flat. It was excellent. My wife's scallops entree was excellent too. Highly recommended.

Sometime in the past TD"A was a go-to restaurant for creative food and upbeat atmosphere and perfectly located across from Carnegie Hall. The third reason is still true, but the mob scene last night was comparable to the subway at rush hour. The level of noise made it nearly impossible to converse without shouting. Service was attentive, food was tasty but mini portions on the antipasto menu was disappointing. The bronzino was nothing special plated with merely a side lemon and greens. The noise was an extreme distraction as was the overcrowded seating. If you like a zoo-like restaurant this could work for you...definitely caution reserving a table at peak dining hours.

Delicious food! Great service and vibe! We ordered several Dishes to share and they were all absolutely incredible! Very quaint place!

This seems to be run by the same people who run Fiorello's. Very similar menu and concept. This includes the 3 or 5 vegetables option, the Italian wedding soup and so on. As well as the deserts. Was not crowded when we were there, so was not noisy and was nice. Food was good.

Tonight was just so very exciting as our favorite restaurant in NYC is back open and doing well! We went there tonight for our 40th wedding anniversary and we could not complain about one darn thing! This restaurant continues to be our favorite neighborhood feel special place! Jomyra , our waitress was perfect! She answered our questions but just let us take our time with our ordering. She was friendly, personable and just so wonderfully attentive without being overbearing. The food was fabulous!! As the foodies that we are and my husband, with his Italian upbringing, this place was the perfect comfort, cozy delicious place to enjoy our food completely! No complaints! The food was so delicious and it reminded us of heading to Grandmothers for our weekly Sunday dinner. Managers Jeff and Mara were as accommodating and personable as any owner would appreciate them to be. Our ONLY regret or disappointment would be that we don’t live close enough to be dining at this establishment weekly! Just a marvelous, cozy, delicious place!!!

I was in NY for a "girls trip" with 7 of my friends. This dinner was one of the highlights of our trip. We LOVED the ambiance, the food and our server. Everyone in the restaurant we encountered, from the staff to the other guests, were very friendly. The service was outstanding and our server was professional and a talented entertainer at the same time. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal but the overall experience was exactly what we were hoping for on our last night in NYC. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.

The food was quite good and there was a selection of good options. The restaurant is cute, but the tables are way too close together. We had an early dinner, but if we had gone later, it would have been too crowded with those tables so close. They brought us chocolate at the end, even though we didn’t order an official dessert, which was a treat. our waiter seemed less interested in us after he Learned we were not interested in a lot of alcohol. I had the petite veal Parmesan, which was good but it was a large portion and there was no pasta or salad or bread offered with it. My husband had the lobster spaghetti me with carbonara which tasted good but it was very rich. We would come back for lunch or an early dinner but we would want to avoid close seating later in the evening.

Our hotel recommended the restaurant when we said we wanted simple Italian food. We were lead to a table where both seats were side by side and table was close to the wall. I asked the hostess how to get into the seats and was told to just slide in. I started to move the table out and someone else jumped in to help us get seated. Ordered a “Qt” of wine and got 8 oz. total, split between two glasses. Questioned waiter and his explanation led us to believe there is an Italian measurement we don’t understand. Food was just ok. $10 for garlic bread, huge plate of chicken parmigiana, with no side unless ordered separately. $13 for a side of pasta. Spent $150 for bread, two average meat only entrees and 8 oz. of wine.

Sublime pizza. Ordered half cupped pepperoni and half “caccio e peppe” with egg. Thin, crispy crust. Started off with negroni with proper block ice and ate pizza with glass of Barolo. Not something you can do at your walkup Broadway pizza tourist traps.

We had dinner here for the first time with our cousin. What a great choice. Excellent old fashioned and manhatten. Jay was a great server and gave some recommendations. Artichoke appetizer, pepperoni chicken ,chicken milanese, and eggplant parm. Tiramisu for dessert. Yum

Overall the food was amazing and can't be faulted. The only downside was we arrived at 8pm. Starters and mains were ordered straight away. However after finishing our starter around 8:30pm we was shocked to see our main course being brought over less then 5minutes of finishing the starter. We also paid for a very nice bottle of wine which kept being topped up every 10minutes. This would have been fine had we of finished our previous glass or been close to finishing it but this was not the case. The wine then got warm sitting in our glass. After finishing our main the desert menu was offered to us straight away (again with no breather in between) when we declined and was mid conversation, the bill was slammed onto the table. Everything felt rushed and what was supposed to be an enjoying dinner turned into a rush.

The food is delicious, the service is excellent and the atmosphere is high energy. We cannot come to New York City and NOT eat here.

Celebrated New Year here. Super location opposite Carnegie Hall. Food was wonderful, although we couldn’t finish all of it. We saw the Ball Drop and Fireworks in Central Park at midnight too from the reserved area outside. Lovely restaurant, you’ll love it

Food not at all up to standards, and four out of six plates came in cold. We ended up only paying for our drinks, but we would have preferred paying for everything and have had a good meal. We have been to this restaurant many times over the past 20 years, having always had wonderful pizzas. This time we ordered pasta dishes and a veal Milanese. Should have gone with the pizzas…..

A big name. A big reputation. Trattoria Dell'Arte has been around for years. I have eaten here ages ago and was coming back for a dinner with friends. So this was the place to go. We had the reservation and we did arrive early. I put our name and and was told we had to wait a bit. That was fine. We waited. 25 minutes later we were brought to our table to sit. It was the same empty table we had seen for 25 minutes. We took off our coats and sat down with the menu. There a few minutes the Maître d came over and said we had to move. Someone else wanted this table and we had to go to the bar while another table was prepared. We go up. Went to the bar. We were offered a glass of champaign (sparkling white wine really.) They then took us to another table in another room slightly off the main area. Fine. We had the room to ourselves. I’m We had our menus. The waitress was very nice and helpful. We ordered some wine and went through the menus. That took time but we did decide and placed our orders. We started with appetizers to share (a habit) and then came our entrees. Amongst all of us it was a good selection. I ordered the Carbonara. It was a good portion to have. The pasta was fresh and very al dente. The bacon was freshly cut and firm. There was no real sauce as I had when I was staying in Rome. This was dry. It was salty in flavor. I was offered more parma cheese. We also shared an Osso Buco on a fresh risotto. There was no bone (as is typical). This was freshly cut meat slices on top of the risotto. This dish was also very salty. After they entree we were offered desert options. Again, as friends, we shared. The deserts were ideal. Especially the holiday cake they offered that is slightly warm. The coffee was fine. Overall, it is an experience to visit Trattoria Dell'Arte. It has been around a long time. The places is packed. So reservations are recommended. The staff is very nice. The prices is what you expect. This is at the higher level. For what I had as an entree and glass of wine was the price for a three course meal for two people in Rome. With a tip! And that was the local restaurant near the Vatican. Here, they might have a few things they need to correct with the seating, but it is ideal even if you go early because of an evening at the theatre or Carnegie Hall. Ciao.

The front desk staff always welcomes you back and makes you feel like a member of their family! This is a wonderful and festive restaurant and directly across from Carnegie Hall. The service was as always very professional and friendly. The food was delicious! The place is very convenient for a late Sunday lunch/early dinner as they are always open for business and not at 5:00 PM for dinner as are most restaurants in the area.

Great place to try the original Italian food with friendly service and great atmosphere The food is delicious and extremely tasty

Last minute dinner and got seated upstairs. It was so fun and the food was delicious. Had a yummy salad and meatballs. Husband had a gluten free pizza. Service was great and friendly.

I hadn't been here in over twenty years. And while it looks very bit of its age, the restaurant still serves solid, tasty food. The antipasto bar has lots of wonderful choices. The veal chop and the branzino were both cooked very nicely. And the service could not have been friendly. Mid town location is hard to beat for convenience.

We love visiting Italy so wanted a real Italian restaurant whilst in New York. The restaurant itself was nice if a little on the “needs some attention “ part of the scale. However, the food was at very best average and although not full we were rushed. We managed to have 3 courses and pay the bill within 50 minutes. At one point I thought this was a fast food place. Saying the food was at best average the total amount payable was not and was certainly not justified. If I wanted Italian food tomorrow I would search for somewhere else.

We were in NYC for a family holiday and prebooked this for our big night out. They could not have been more welcoming, efficient or friendly. I had the special 101 layer lasagne, wife and son had pizzas, brother had chicken parmigiana, his wife had seafood pasta and they were all faultless. Tremendous wine list and our waiter, Anthony, was top drawer. Great place for a quality but relaxed night out. Highly recommended from me and the other 5 in the party.

There is a lot of information of reviews. And more photos. My family of 4 (2 teenagers) had great meals here. We order $35 plates each and my wife and I had drinks. Total bill with deserts and a tip $260. Well worth it. Food is excellent, servers are fun, and the drinks perfect. Just be aware, it is a big restaurant, and they are attentive to get you served and open the table. I rated this place a 5 for value. Why? NYC is expensive and we paid less at some restaurants but nowhere near the quality.

Best cracker thin pizza in NYC, delicious and fresh Caesar Salad, Wonderful selection of Italian Reds, and Spumoni that is irresistible. Pastas and main courses fresh and delicious. Waiters are exc and old school. Bustling environment. Not to be missed.

I have been there few years ago for a business dinner and it was good. This time the overal experience has been very disappointing. They gave us a very bad table. We were sitting side by side (not the best with your wife) and we had reservation. The ravioli we ordered had frozen burrata on top (So I assume not fresh). The servant did not changed the plates and our cutlery for the main course. Very crowded place. To be avoided

So while in NYC, we decided to visit this place because for dinner due to it being only a block or two walk from our hotel. We appreciated that it was one of few places open past 10:30pm on a weekday night. But the disappointment started once we got seated. The ambiance is great. Very much classic Tuscan trattoria vibes. But the service was lacking from the start. Once seated, it took 10 minutes just to get our drink order taken, while we had two servers within 15 feet of our table. After that we placed entree orders, but had to keep flagging down our server. As for the food, we started with bruschetta. The bread was incredibly HARD. We had to douse it in olive oil & balsamic vinegar, just to soften it enough to be decent. I ordered the 101-layer lasagna bolognese. It was filling, and decent. Not great, but not bad either. But I appreciated the huge portion. It seemed to lack the flavor it needed, just a little bit. My wife ordered the Osso Bucco, which came on top of a bed of polenta. She stated the osso bucco was great. She also ordered a side of brussel sprouts to pair with it, but stated they were not good at all. I tried them myself, and can concur they were terrible. Drinks were good and strong. However, for the place to be half-full, service should've easily been better. Especially when you come in the last 90 minutes of the restaurant being open. Honestly, if you're looking for Italian, take your time & find another place, as there are plenty to choose from.

Super delicious meal. No wait! Our server was outstanding and very attentive. I had the Margherita pizza and we had tiramisu and the lemon pie. Everything was amazing and portion sizes were ideal.

Visited one evening for dinner. We had pre booked a table for 5, but despite this we were squashed onto a table really only suitable for 2. Food was decent quality but it’s way overpriced $40 for bread starter with ham and mozzarella and the portion was small. Lobster Ravioli 5 pieces $48. The service was rushed and the atmosphere lacking. There are much better places in the locality. The Red Eye Grill next door being one!!

I went to visit the Brooklyn Diner but as it was late they were closing up, the very kind manager (Joseph I believe) took me to their Trattoria around the corner instead. I have to say that the food and service were all exceptional, and the Chicken Parmesan that was recommended was out of this world. If you want to sample excellent Italian American food when in NYC I would 100% come here!

The spaghetti was precooked, & if it wasn't it tasted like it. The meatballs were good, except for the piece of gristle. I ordered and they brought the dish in less than 5 minutes. The place is beyond noisy. I went there many, many times prepandemic . I was excited that they made it through. But I'm never going back. i couldn't wait to get out of there. It was like being in the subway.

The place is wonderful very nice But the food nothing special And they try to sell broccoli rap but looks like kale The mushroom sauce is very bland the filet mignon look hard even know I ask for rare The risotto pescatora was ok but the chef forgot to put any salt and really doesn’t have any shell fish over all he Caesar salad dressing was awesome Going back ? I don’t think so it’s a lot of good place where u can eat and for a better price too

Good pizza with very thin crust. Friendly waiter. Busy atmosphere in the restaurant. But pretty expensive for relatively simple food.

True New York eating experience, Italian style. With reservation, were ushered to our table of five in a spot where we could observe others fine dishes. The meatball appetizers were delicious. The house signature lasagna was incredible. The dessert assortment is absolutely first class. Would definitely return for more.

The food is always excellent, and their waiters have a special attention, as if it were a family, they remember until your last visit to the restaurant. Highly recommended.

Another amazing dinner at this adorable, chic restaurant. The atmosphere is always cheerful and the staff is the best ever. Shout outs for Marco Divine, beverage manager, Ara Khachatryan, Manager, and Jeff Baskin, the General Manager. They are so kind and attentive. You can't go wrong with any thing you order.

Excellent food with superb service. Pizza was incredible, as was the chicken parmigiana. Everything was perfect. Great atmosphere.

Great Italian in Mid town. Warm and friendly staff and great ambiance. From the managers/owner to the busboys everyone seems to take great pride in their work which is rare these days. Our server Sage was helpful and attentive throughout the meal. The vegetable antipasto bar was delicious. We shared the spaghetti with lobster that was incredible and the branzino was moist and delicate. The portions are great for sharing and a good value for this part of Manhattan. We took Sage's advice and loved the cannoli for desert. We need to go back because the pizza at the next table looked incredible too!

We had tickets for a 7:30 pm show of Dear Evan Hansen, which was a short walk from this restaurant. So we decided to give it a try, making a reservation for 5:45 pm. I felt like a senior citizen, going to the early bird special...ha ha...but boy, was I wrong. The place was lively and full even at that hour, and had a great crowd. Our waiter was fantastic---attentive but not hovering. I very much enjoyed my Veal Piccata, and my husband had the Osso Bucco. I was worried about trying to squeeze in a dinner before the show, but the pace of service was perfect and we felt relaxed...even had time for dessert. Our show was at the Music Box Theater, but if you have tickets to Carnegie Hall, this place is even more convenient. Literally, across the street. I would definitely go back! As with all NYC establishments, be prepared to show proof of vaccination and your identification. The NYC Covid Safe app is a great way to have these items uploaded and ready.

We ate there our first night in New York! It was one of my favorite places to eat, my husband and I hadn’t been back to New York in probably 10 years and we were thrilled to discover our favorite restaurant was still there and food was still as delicious as we remembered! We enjoyed a wonderful bottle of Italian wine along with some of their antipastos. My husband had their pasta and i had the crab cakes for our main meal. Everything was fresh and beautifully served! I love the beautiful artwork displayed, very enchanting atmosphere. service was perfect, they made sure we were happy! Highly recommend you trying their amazing food if you are in the city.

We weren't sure where to eat our first night back in NYC after several years. As a result of our travel (12 hours) we were pooped, and wanted somewhere good, preferably Italian, and close to our hotel, the Westhouse. Our amazing concierge recommended Trattoria Dell'Arte, as did some good friends who are frequent visitors to the city. They were right. The ambience and the pizza were a perfect re-introduction to the city. In my humble opinion, this is definitely one of the better restaurants in the Theatre District. We will be back.

The concierge at our hotel recommended this restaurant when we indicated we were looking for Italian food. While the server was friendly and the service was prompt, the food was mediocre at best. We would have had better at the Olive Garden. I would not return here and would not be able to recommend this restaurant to others.

Great attentive staff. But, and this is not the only Italian restaurant like this, serving Italian food of a bygone era. The average age of the customer demonstrates there is a great clientele that longs for nostalgia. But this is nothing like the food you would get nowadays in restaurants in Italy. I had lasagna that was well cooked but bland tasting, my wife the scallops that were done well. Cocktails at $18 are generous but quite pricey. The old fashioned had too much sugar for my liking and too little bourbon, the negroni was spot on. It was pleasant but not exciting. They do what they do well, so if that's your thing, you will love it. It is not how the Italian kitchen is today, its how it was decades ago.

Had reservations for two of us after seeing a matinee. Didn’t need them, seated right away, hardly anyone in the restaurant. We chose to sit in the back of the restaurant instead of the bar area. That was a mistake. We were seated at the table right next to a group of four women who were quite loud. Why seat us there, especially when all of the other tables were available in the room? Theres no music or subtle ambiance here either. We should’ve asked to be sat elsewhere, but didn’t want to appear to be rude. Took a waiter about ten minutes to approach us when he saw me drinking from the water bottle I carried in. Menu prices are quite high, even for New York City standards. I thought outrageous to pay 94.00 (including tip) for two dishes of pasta, one pomodoro, one vodka rigatoni (this was very al dente) with an addition of shrimp, and one iced tea. So, no appetizer, no dessert, and one non-alcoholic drink with two pasta dishes (the least two expensive menu items) for almost a hundred dollars! If you want bread here, you will be charged, not what I would expect at an Italian restaurant. We would not return here. There are many other Italian options to behold while in NY at more reasonable prices, especially when dining with family.

We showed up at 6:15, informed the maître d’ that we had an 8:00 curtain at Carnegie Hall across the way, and were taken care of immediately and competently — I did have to make a special request for a knife and fork, but hey, nobody’s perfect. My wife chose three grilled vegetables; I had ravioli bolognese; we each had a glass of Sangiovese. We shared a piece of limoncello pie with cream. The prices are on the high side, but the Trattoria delivers: we were done by 7:25 and headed across 7th Avenue to our concert. Recommended!

Fast, efficient service with wonderfully, friendly staff, Loved the food, suggest you try the scallops. Restaurant only a block away from our Hotel so during our five day stay in New York, of course, we enjoyed twice. Great Italian atmosphere, and particularly enjoyed the journey experienced when trying more unusual Italian wines.

Amazing food and great service by Joseph! We come here since 2013 and it is still amazing! The antipasto bar is one of a kind!

In spite of the massive crowds Trattoria Dell' Arte delivered. Seated us immediately. Service was attentive and spot on. Food was outstanding. This place gets very crowded so walk carefully between the tables. Hat check lady was a personality.

Food was excellent and a waiter was very knowledgeable and engaging (unfortunately I forgot his name). The only down side was that it is a very large and noisy restaurant

First time in NYC and a recommendation from our hotel. Restaurant looks nice from the outside, but needs some renovation inside. Service was friendly, efficient and actually very good. The food was the biggest letdown. We choose two of the house speciality entrees. Burrata pasta and Lasagna…101 layers of lasagna was cold and had to be sent back to be warmed up to temp. That created experiences of the dish being very pre-made or frozen and certainly not fresh. Flavor was bland and nothing special. More of a gimmick than a well executed chef driven entree. Burrata stuffed pasta was better than the lasagna but definitely not what was expected. The Burrata on top was ice cold…what’s going on with the cold food? Disappointed Cannoli dessert was the one bright spot. Excellent, taste, texture and a great blueberry sauce. If only the other items were this well prepared. For a traditional Italian restaurant this is only a notch above Olive Garden and not remotely close to the $150 bucks paid for dinner. Very disappointed and won’t go back

Italian decor, xcellent pizza (one of the best!), and a perfect parmigiana. Our server was attentive and great, but the reception was freezing.

Decoration and staff of the restaurant great but failed the most important thing was the food.I didn't like almost anything we ate and we went with great expectations and we left disappointed. Not recommended and expensive price for what was offered.

This restaurant is a midtown gem. Friendly, attentive service. Order the chicken parm or veal parm with or without pepperoni. You will get a giant, plate-sized portion that's pounded thin, perfectly breaded and fried with extra dollops of burratta on top. The cracker-thin crust pizza is also delicious. Gluten free cannoli for dessert were unexpectedly good- the shell is thin and crispy like caramel. The decor can appear dated but it's lot of fun, colorful art to enjoy - especially all the noses! Will definitely return!

A very mini salad for €20? Half a tasteless tomato and 1/2 avocado with a ball of burratta, a drizzle of olive oil and that's it. A warmed white bread: €8

Unfortunately, this experience followed a fantastic experience at the Buena Vista the night before. Trattoria dell’ Arte is a large, loud factory-like experience. Our drinks were mediocre and for two people who don’t drink often but enjoy it, suspiciously light on alcohol, flavor, presentation and follow-up. Off to a mediocre beginning, the bruschetta was good. My husband had the osso bucco and it was good. My rigatoni alla vodka with chicken was truly inedible. I got up from the table, our waiter never having come to our table after our order, and reported the meal and the service. A very kind woman tried to make it right but it turns out that truly bad service cannot be bought away with a dessert. Once my meal was re-made into something minimally expected, our waiter AJ stopped by to let me know that “I’ll go back and beat them up if it’s not better.” No beatings necessary but a word of caution. The difference between the two restaurant experiences was that everyone at the Buena Vista cared that we have excellent food and an exceptional experience. And, it turns out that if you care to do the right thing, it usually happens and is quite palpable. Skip the Trattoria and go to the Buena Vista, it will feed your soul and belly, quite nicely.

We had a great pizza and bottle of wine at the bar. The pizza had a very thin crust which is our favorite. Met some interesting people. Went twice in 5 days.

Our friends wanted to give us good time after a long time since our last meeting. A good Italan restuarant is a chance to have veal picata-which thgouh looks easy it is not. First we were told that there no more veal picata but later they found some. A bad omen. The dish was disappointed. Our friend was not very happy as well-did not finish his order. Desert luckily savd the day. For the price charged you should expect much more. May be it was just a bad day.

I've been here at least a dozen times, it's always on my list when I visit the city. Consistent and delicious. Try the antipasto bar, the selection is terrific. We had their lemon pie dessert. OMG, a must when you go there. Pizza is always amazing, this time we tried the Prosciutto pizza, perfection! I like eating at the bar, Cynthia is a great bartender, she's been there 24 years! She'll make sure your visit is great! Year after year, always a winner!

This was a marvelous experience. The food is excellent as is the wine list. The service is first class. Vegetation and vegan options are plentiful and delicious.

7 of us out of towners went along on advice of business friend. Fantastic menu. The vegetables antipasto bar is really great. BE CAREFUL to read each antipasto as it says vegetarian or vegetable and there is meat is some of the items. The deal is for 3 or 5 and that will do for supper even if sharing for two if you're small eaters. We started off sharing a pizza which was also fantastic. The crust was so light, thin but not hard as rocks. Really excellent. The whole menu was interesting and the service very attentive. Would definitely go there again and again. Be warned if you're drinking it will be well more than the food bill for 2 rounds.

A busy midtown trattoria catering to the busy businessmen and theatergoers. Fast, efficient ( a bit mechanical), service . Food was good but not excellent.

Had the most wonderful birthday here … staff, food and the atmosphere was wonderful… would highly recommend it. Fab fab

If you want the best lasagna ever that melts in your mouth them come here, you want be disappointed Overall the food is outstanding the service so, so, could be more friendly, and the restaurant is noisy and full of atmosphere, a must go to Italian restaurant to go to when in New York

The place is really amazing, the pizza and pasta had surprisingly very delicious taste, we clearly didn't expect it at such busy place in NYC. Everything - the service, people working there - are amazing. Special thanks to barman Victor from Gvatemala, he suggested nice places to visit in NYC. This place is not cheap, however we really recommend to have a lunch or dinner here, you'll definitely enjoy it!

Lovely atmosphere and great food. Definitely recommend the antipasti bar. We all enjoyed our meals - various pasta options chosen. Friendly prompt service too.

Visited for lunch prior to a concert at Lincoln Center. The restaurant was fairly busy for 12:15. Choice of Brunch or regular menu. We opted for a couple apps and shared the Ravioli Bolognese. The Bolognese was outstanding. Fresh made and very tasty. We shared the Shrimp Bruschetta and Fried Artichokes both were also excellent. Service was very friendly and professional. Prices are high but the quality was excellent. We will return for dinner on another visit the city.

I don’t usually write reviews but… this was a great experience. I went in for a casual lunch on my way to Central Park and ordered the quinoa and avocado salad in an attempt to be healthy. The staff were very attentive but completely sabotaged my attempt 😅 Towards the end of the meal the host/manager came around the table offering freshly baked cookies that were still warm and off the baking tray. This was a lovely treat. As I finished the salad the waiter came over with a tray that showed off all the desserts they had to offer. They all looked amazing but I went for the Cannoli on the recommendation of the waiter. I was not disappointed! These are too die for and are a must try. This felt like an experience without being over the top and the small things like the cookies, the dessert tray and the free chocolate really did add to the lunch. Thank you!!!

Wow, incredible food from appetizers to dessert. Excellent vegetarian options - the antipasto option is exceptional. Margarita pizza & the pastas were also superb. We ate here 2 nights in a row because it was that good. Staff are true professionals w/ warmth, humor, & knowledge.

This is an excellent Italian restaurant with a pretty deep menu of tasty Italian dishes. The veal picatta and carbonara are particularly good. If you are unsure of what you want, the wait staff will be happy to make recommendations. In terms of price, i'd consider this place on the upper end of mid range but you definitely get what you pay for. I will be back.

This classic bistro was a standout not just for the food but for the professionalism of the waiters. Ours was attentive and knowledgeable and nade us feel at home. My petite sole with asparagus was perfectly cooked and delicious. Well worth a visit.

Expensive restaurant and not very good. The pizzas are bland and tasteless, there is nothing Italian about them. The same goes for pasta! The chef should do an internship in Italy. Limited service...only for tips.

The chicken parmigiana with pepperoni was delicious and although it was much too large for me to finish, I enjoyed it along with a Peroni beer. The waiter did not rush me as I waited for a potential second diner, and was helpful selecting both my entrée and beer, advising he would avoid the local beer that was on the menu. Prices are high, but reasonable for this conveniently located restaurant near Central Park. The restaurant had a lot of energy for a Monday evening, and I would definitely consider returning.

Brilliant lunch. Arguably the best pizzas in New York, actually, I’ll be as bold to say THE best pizzas in New York. Great setting, great staff, great service. What’s not to like?

Absolutely fantastic food and wine, with exceptional staff!!! I’m certainly going to be back while I’m in New York. I had three courses with a bottle of wine, and I wasn’t disappointed with any of it.

We enjoyed our meal here three-plus years ago and decided to come back. The service is friendly and competent, the nosh first rate. We share the vegetable antipasto -- loved the eggplant and the breaded friend cauliflower -- and had a serving of pasta each. My wife had the spaghetti carbonara with lobster, I had the tordelli with beef ragout. We shared an enormous tartufo for dessert. Definitely a place to return to.

Absolutely the best food! Great location … attentive staff … superb evening. And the desserts!!! The cannoli is the best I’ve ever had … and as for the banana crème pie!!! To die for!!! Simply superb.

My wife and I had dinner here one night. The service was outstanding. As seems to often be the case in NYC the tables were quite close together and the atmosphere was quite noisy so not really a place for intimate dining (which is not really a terrible thing if you know that going in). We started with the three vegetable plate, asparagus, peppers, and mushrooms which were quite good. Next was a caesar salad which was okay, somewhat tangy but croutons a bit stale. My wife had lemon chicken entree which was good and I had the lobster spaghetti carbonara which was quite good. It is an easy walk to several theaters from this place so quite good for night out for dinner and theater. All in all we enjoyed our experience here and would go again.

We had very good food, served quickly at lunch. Food imported from Italy; we had many appetizers (charcuterie and vegetables cooked according to the Italian tradition), risotto and some other dishes for Italo Americans (see pics). Recommended

I have to pay special tribute to Jonathan one of the managers who went above and beyond any expectations we could have had to provide a most gratifying dining experience The food was as usual wonderful and the service was excellent. However, Jonathan made this family outing memorable and special and for that we are grateful and look forward to our next meal.

The food is delicious and the best experience comes from seating in the bar where Victor will be your greatest host and will make sure you have a wonderful time.

All the family loved the food! We had the spaghetti carbonara and the spaghetti with meatballs… so delicious!!! The garlic bread is insane ! We will certainly come back !

outstanding service, very friendly personal, unbelievable fair price for what you get, best pizza i ever ate (pizza with meatballs), got fresh baked cookies for free (two times)(very yummy)

Went to this restaurant on recommendation of fellow guest from our Hotel. (Park Central Hotel). We were on holiday from the UK and she was from the USA. Beautifully presented restaurant. We did not book but the welcome we received from the lady in the cloakroom reception was first class. Great choice of Menu and the waiter walked us through most popular dishes and his recommendations. We were not mega hungry so simply went for the pizza, which the waiter said was the best in town. We were, however, tempted by the small selection of deserts which the waiter brought to the table and Explained. The food was indeed Delicious and the service was exceptional. Well worth a visit.

We found this place a couple years ago and simply love it. Our latest week in town 9/11-18 we ate there three times, all great experiences and took new friend there to show it off. The food.........well, I ate my weight in meatballs! A must have with great red sauce! My new craving is their pizza. I overlooked for years going strong to the great pasta...........but, no more! Pizza, thin with good crunch and my perfect pepperoni slices (those small bowls of Italian goodness)............ The service, from Managers to busboys is friendly and helpful. Atmosphere is warm and upbeat. We are bar people and found seats all three times. Stand out thanks to Victor. We had a delightful afternoon with him, taking a break from our city tours. Victor has great, good natured and helping us sample some of the great drink and food (the cannoli! ). We will be back...........soon I hope. May get some Meatballs delivered to Kansas! Steve n Kate

Reviewed the restaurant back in January and returned solo earlier this week. It remains at the very top of my NY great meal list. Food was again superb and service could not be better. Great place for pre-Broadway show or Carnegie Hall recital.

We had dinner in this restaurant: more or less normal as food, very large bill... The thing that bothered me the most was the fact that, having asked for bread, we ate it with pleasure because it was hot and served with extra virgin olive oil: the Owner, or who for him, looking at us made a smile like when Toto ate starving in the movie: “ Misery and nobility”. That's why, in New York, I'm not going back to this restaurant.

In short, try it, you won't be sorry! My mom and I had the best dinner of our trip here. The food is excellent (more on that later), but what sets this restaurant apart is the service. Our server, Jose M., was absolutely wonderful. He gave excellent recommendations on the menu and was friendly and attentive. My mom and I arrived, sat at the bar (because we didn't have a reservation) and ordered the cheapest bottle of wine on the menu (an impressive feat given the huge wine selection they have). Despite this, my mom and I were treated like long time, regular customers. I mention this because the staff knew they weren't getting a large bill out of us, and they treated us like royalty anyway, even after we had paid our bill and sat there for almost half an hour after. Jeff (who I believe is the GM) came by several times throughout our meal to chat with us and see that everything is going well. They even brought us free samples of the antipasto to try and some prosecco! Now for the food. They have an excellent antipasto selection (everything we tried was very good) and then we shared the chicken pepperoni parmigiana which was delicious. Finally, we had the cannolis for dessert. We're not typically dessert people but you do NOT want to miss these. They were incredible. I can't recommend this restaurant enough! Thank you to Jose, Jeff and the Trattoria team for giving my mom and I such a great night!

The entrance may be decorated with festoons of flowers around the door. All looked very impressive from the outside as did the welcome area of the entrance. However our experience of this restaurant failed to please. Our table had a paper tablecloth , always a bad sign . Our food arrived very quickly after ordering. My ravioli was cold in the middle. I sent it back and it must have been put through the microwave as pasta was hard. No bread was offered. The maitre d was informed that this booking was to celebrate two birthdays. However nothing become if it and there was no mention of the birthdays from the somewhat pushy waiter who was determined we chose a dessert. We didn’t. And we will not be returning.
Great Staff
Selected the restaurant due to its location to Center City Theater. The staff was so pleasant and very professional. Was able to have a leisurely dinner and in plenty of time to make the show on time. The staff seems committed to making sure customers who are attending shows make their shows on time. Food was nothing to write home about but that might just be because of my selection. Other dinners really seemed in awe of the food. Regardless of your main course one must have the cannoli for dessert.
