Really enjoyed the food!

By Ge He |

The restaurant is quiet, and the environment is excellent. Everything on the menu is tasty, although I wouldn't say they are all authentic from their origin. Most of the food tastes more Shanghai style, meaning soy sauce and sweet flavors come on top a little bit more. A bit pricey, but would recommend.

Dum sum north of mulberry

By Zack S |

I was raised eating Chinese food in Chinatown so I am very biased, but tri dim has great service and decent dim sum! It’s hard to find dim sum outside of Chinatown so I was skeptical but I was satisfied with the food. The soup dumpling were great, the scallion pancakes were authentic. Overall good meal.

complete dud

don't believe the good reviews After reading a glowing review we went. We eat and various Chinese restaurants 2 to 3 times a week. I truly feel sorry for those people who express. delight at this restaurant. Obviously in my opinion they know nothing about. good Chinese food. wonton egg drop soup was cold – tasteless and the wontons very mediocre. Steak with blackbean sauce was inedible the "ants on a hill" was downright terrible. In my opinion this is absolutely a place to avoid. Much much better food at: Shun Lee was Dim Sim palace Second Avenue andE. 4th St. Chili e 37 Cafe china e37 sixth

Wonderful Sweet and Sour Chicken

By Justin W |

I love coming to Tri Dim for their lunch special. They give you a decent portion of delicious food at a very reasonable price in a beautifully decorated restaurant. I had the Sweet & Sour Chicken with white rice and a bowl of Wonton Soup. Now ordinarily the dish tastes like chicken tempura with a sweet sauce but not here. The chicken was lightly battered and fried and then sauted in the sauce with some chopped vegetables. The sauce was not overly sweet and there was just enough for a nice lunch. The Wonton Soup had smaller Shanghai Dumplings not the big Cantonese ones but still the chicken broth was delicious. The service is always nice and lunch came out quickly even though it was busy. I find the waiters here to be very friendly.

NY favorite

By Robert M |

Having lived in Manhattan for two years, we have been to many Chinese restaurants. Many are very good, but this remains our favorite. Of course, it helps that is easy walking distance from our apartment. It has large and varied menu of delicious dishes prepared with fresh ingredients and sauces, served by friendly and a professional, knowledgeable staff.

Excellent lunch specials

By Justin W |

I swear this place just keeps getting better. I had the lunch combination with the Slippery Chicken and the Hot & Sour Soup and everything was excellent. The Slippery Chicken is a breast that has been thinly sliced with a honey plum sauce and served with a steamed spinach. It is one of their signature dishes and it is just wonderful. Their Hot & Sour soup is excellent. The right amount of vegetables and meat in a very spicy soup base. Each bite has a fiery taste to it. The service is friendly and very quick and the best part is the prices are very reasonable at lunch.

Delicious food and very attentive service

By Justin W |

I went to Tri Dim Shanghai on a recommendation, plus I had passed the restaurant a few times walking by it in the past. It is a very nice looking restaurant with its clean lines and elegant interior (and may I add very clean bathrooms). It is an impressive looking restaurant. The food was wonderful! I had one of their lunch specials which was $9.95 is a nice deal. You get a choice of about 20 entrees and a choice of either soup or a spring roll. I opted for the hot and sour soup which was really spicy and had some kick to it. For lunch I had the 'slippery chicken' which was a minced chicken with spinach in a brown spicy sauce with white rice that was perfectly prepared and came to the table piping hot, which is nice for a lunch time Chinese restaurant. Some times the food comes out lukewarm. I also order a side of their soup dumplings which were excellent. Each bite bursts in your mouth with a porky soupy taste. They were soft and cooked perfectly. The service is very friendly and attentive and the whole staff works together to be sure you enjoy you meal. I highly recommend the restaurant for lunch

Not my vibe !

By Katey L |

Although I had read many favorable reviews I honestly have to say I was not impressed & maybe because I sat at a most uncomfortable seat at the bar. At 6:00 it was packed; almost every table taken. Service at the bar was fine & professional. However because I found the bar stools so uncomfortable & almost warning one to sit at a table. I ordered the soup dumplings to start which I think is a signature dish..... I was not impressed to say the least. My casserole of meatballs was ok.....much to much broth & not the standard casserole I had hoped it to be. I don’t plan on returning as I also found the customers to be too ethnic for my taste. But for the customer this atmosphere works for......ENJOY !

Great Food, Fast Delivery

By f00df00df00d |

Tri Dim Shanghai is absolutely WONDERFUL!!!!! with the "Stay At Home" in effect it is especially important to support the restaurants that remain open to provide take out and delivery. My sister is home bound anyway and was desperate for Chinese food. I found Tri Dim Shanghai on line- they were open for business, friendly, helpful, easy to set up order and delivery. The delivery was quite fast and my sister and helper were thrilled at the taste and quality of the food. I hope that more people will take advantage of the delivery of the great food from TriDimShanghai. thanks to all the staff who made the meal possible!

Average Chinese Restaurant

By larryderm |

The service was great. While I liked the food, my partner thought the food was either too spicy or too heavy. The dining area is someone crowded.

Good Chinese Food - Reasonable NYC Prices

By 315David303 |

Pros: Not too noisy; interesting menu; attentive & polite staff; tables include cloth napkins a & tablecloths; good food & reasonable quantities. This was my first visit and the restaurant seemed popular with local patrons. There are no Cons to speak of and I will be back. For one person with tip $65 with two beers.

Very good, authentic Chinese

By Ecmancini |

The service was rather disappointing. Dim sum were awful and too gooey. Peking Duck was a treat, especially as it was prepared at the table by the waiter.

Upper East Side Oriental Gem

By Clementinefox2018 |

This is a wonderful neighborhood Chinese restaurant with great dishes and excellent service. Try the soup juicy dumplings and braised fatty pork on a bed of greens......delicious! We love many dishes here....chicken, spicy shredded beef, Peking duck....fantastic. You don’t need to go all the way to Chinatown for great Chinese food in a comfortable, spacious setting. Take away is wonderful too. Highly recommend.

Local Chinese restaurant on Upper East Side

By Vegemitelover |

We ate at Tri Dim for dinner. The food was OK - it caters to more western tastes. We tried a prawn dish with black bean sauce and egg which we have never seen before and was quite rich! Better choices in Chinatown.

Always good

By Marilyn A |

Except for the spare ribs that I do not like. The soup dumplings are yummy along with all the other dumplings. I love the sort ribs, the eggplant, spicy shrimp, and fried whole fish. Of course sesame noodles and string beans. I like The lion head casserole but not for everyone. Last time we had curry chicken casserole which was too bland for me but others liked.

Tasty Food, good reviews on yelp

By cbaldino1014 |

Really enjoyed eating here last Saturday night with my mother and fiancé. I stumbled on it while searching yelp for Chinese food in the UES. The rating were good and the pictures of the food looked tasty plus I was able to make a reservation on yelp! Also, when you check in you get a free order of chicken dumplings so we were excited to try this place. Plus, if your credit card is linked to your yelp you get 7% cash back on your bill. When we walked in I really liked the décor. It is well lit and has a cool vibe to it. We were seated right away but we did have a reservation. Foodwise: We ordered the crab and pork dumplings, the chicken dumplings, and the scallion pancakes as appetizers. Everything was amazing. They also put a dish of what I think was pickled cabbage out on the table and it was delicious as well. My favorite were the scallion pancakes but both the dumplings and the crab and pork dumplings were great as well. We split the amazing chicken entrée and the beef with broccoli. The amazing chicken had great flavor and had a kick. The beef and broccoli was tradition and tasty but I most likely would not get it again.

I love their soup dumplings and noodles

By Justin W |

I really enjoy going to Tri Dim for lunch and dinner after visiting the Metropolitan Museum of Art. It is a nice walk from the museum and the food is always consistent and the service is very nice. I had the pork soup dumplings were are made fresh to order and were delicious. They slurped in my mouth with all the juiciness. They were just large enough to be the perfect appetizer. I also ordered the thick Shanghai Noodles with shrimp and they were wonderful. The noodles were cooked perfectly and there was a nice amount of shrimp in the dish with a good array of vegetables. It was the perfect lunch on a warm afternoon. The service is quick and very friendly.

Attractive, tasty Chinese restaurant on the Upper East Side!

By Bi-coaster |

Attractive, airy, UES Chinese restaurant was a great venue for lunch! Very few diners (lots of takeout pickups) so space and plenty of attention. We loved the Peking duck spring roll and the hot and sour soup! Also good were the barbecued spareribs. We went with the tried and true Kung Pao Chicken which wasn’t spicy as noted on the menu so we asked for and got some chilis in oil to add. A most pleasant experience and we’ll return again.

Great Chinese near the Met

By leven4all |

We really enjoyed our lunch here after going to the Met. The soup dumplings were great, the hot and sour soup was very hot. Lots of choices for lunch.

Good Chinese Food, Good Service, Saw Good Reviews on Yelp

By Michelle P |

There was another listing for this same address and food type, but under another name. We found the positive reviews on Yelp and walked to this restaurant from the Metropolitan museum. We had a chicken dish, tofu dish, and a shrimp dish. All came out hot and tasty. Service was great. We were there on Saturday after going to the Met. There is a nice brunch special on Saturday and Sunday until 3pm for $17.95 that includes an appetizer, soup, and a generous size entré. There is a full bar for those interested in a drink. The atmosphere was calm and seating comfortable.

Great neighborhood find

By Herman G |

Since the closure of Chef Ho we keep on looking for a peking duck replacement place. Tri Dim is a very nice place with a great bar and very friendly and professional service. The appetizers and main courses were good but slightly on the greasy side. The Duck unfortunately was disappointing. Far to salty and fat. So we need to keep on looking for that Duck place. We will for sure be back for all the other food.

An Elegant Chinese Restaurant

By NikaJunie |

Tri Dim Shanghai is a cut above most New York City Chinese restaurants. I shared two old favorites, General Tso's tofu (here called vegetarian General Tso's chicken) and vegetarian Shanghai noodles. Both were excellent and well-priced for this expensive neighborhood. Non-vegetarian friends seemed pleased with their shrimp and beef dishes. The dining room has an elegant, traditional Chinese decor. Unusually for a Chinese restaurant, service is relaxed and one doesn't feel rushed.

What an elegant yet comfortable and tasty surprise

By sesphd |

This restaurant, for an amazing price, has the best Chinese food. The service is excellent, the desire to please so apparent and the food itself a delight set in an elegant but comfortable atmosphere.

Delicious!!

By Anagabriela E |

Delicious food, incredible service!! If you want to eat a delicious soup for the cold this is the place!! After a day in the museum, the best choice!

Delicious Cantonese food on the Upper East Side!

By Bi-coaster |

Four of us had dinner in this attractive Cantonese restaurant and were very pleased with the dishes. Our Chinese friend did the ordering in Chinese and we had a nice variety of lighter dishes—everything from shrimp, delicate fish, cold jellyfish, dry fried green beans, and a slightly spice shredded beef dish. All tasty! Service was great and the restaurant quiet and relaxing for a Sunday evening.

Expensive Food, Poor Quality

By lag10021 |

I just ordered in from Tri Dim Shanghai. The chicken & broccoli was extremely disappointing and the steamed chicken dish was not great either. For its value, there is much better Chinese within a 10 block radius. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!

Authentic Chinese Food in an Upscale and Appealing Setting

By Valtraveler |

This is one of my favorite Chinese restaurants in all of the US. I never miss a visit here when in New York. This time went wit friends who also thoroughly enjoyed their meal. The atmosphere is colorful, authentic (in a contemporary way), and comfortable. The service very good. And the prices reasonable for the quality and quantity of the food. I would not, however, recommend the fried fish as the amount actually edible seemed surprisingly small. Everything else we order was simply delicious and devoured.

Excellent Yum Cha

By Maurice Tangredi |

Recently had lunch time Yum Cha at Tri Dim Shanghai during our stay in New York. The restaurant is nicely decorated, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent, served hot and nicely timed so you get to enjoy the food without being rushed. Highly recommended.

Delicious Lunch Special

By Justin W |

I stopped in at Trim Dim Shanghai for lunch on a whim when I saw what a nice lunch special they had on the menu. I had the Amazing Chicken special which was pretty amazing that was served in a hoisin/plum sauce with chili sauce and served with snow peas and fresh peppers. The lunch special was served with a crisp vegetable Spring Roll and white rice. The meal was excellent, full of flavor and perfectly cooked and seasoned. The chicken had a nice spicy flavor to it and was the perfect portion size for lunch. The service here is always quick and very friendly and everything is served on a timely basis if you are in a rush. It is the perfect place to eat after visiting the Metropolitan Museum of Art just a few blocks away.

Amazing!

By Markus J |

I love this restaurant! The waiters are really nice and helpful and the food is punctual and great! I strongly recommend the fried pork dumplings and the pork soup dumplings!

GREAT Sleeper Chinese Food

By Mark |

We’e been ordering food from this place at least once a week for last two months. The food is always good and consistent. Too many great tasty items to mention but my favorite is the Gu-Lu Pork with Pineapple. We’re so glad we have this place a try!

Best one around

By pippin_v_bismarck |

- after new owners took over last year. Solid. Going there once a week on average, mostly dinners. The occasional lunch a surprising bargain uptown. Drinks, service, menu, decor great - you have to travel farther afield and pay way more to find a better package. A real asset for this neighborhood.

Stay away

By FFC883 |

Spent over $100 on a take out today. The food was not exciting, mediocre. The Braised Pork DongPo Style is a delicious dish that I've had many times in Hong Kong and even on Cathay Pacific Airlines. Unfortunately the Braised Pork DongPo Style I got today was so dried out it was harder and tougher than jerky. We threw it away, don't know how many days it's been sitting in their fridge air drying. I called to tell them about it and they said "sorry about that" - that's all I got. They took no responsibility of replacing it or offer something else, I was not looking for something for free but it was $26 + Tax. Save yourself and do not go there.

Nice and easy

By Piero C |

It’s always nice when your dishes arrive swiftly at your table, almost too hot to eat. The food was very good, if not in any way notably different than any decent LA Chinese venue. The service was excellent, but impersonal, as you might expect on the upper west side. Downsides: tables too close together so elbows and chairs were always intrusive on other diners. And of course the prices were unreasonable. But plentiful and quick.

Excellent Chinese Restaurant

By JackieLiang |

This is our "must stop" in the Big Apple. Excellent Chinese cuisine, the way it should be. Great service. Elegant decor. Friendly people. We had the soup dumplings, very yummy. A must every time I come back to NYC. We then had the crispy duck, a bit like the Peking duck, only better, it is just tasty and amazing. We also had Ma Po Tofu, Anthony Bourdain's favorite "Hang over" food - we ordered it because it is just so good. The wine and cocktails are very good too. All in all, I highly recommend this place.

Great food

By James Andrew B |

We had dinner here a couple of nights ago. Prawn dish and a chicken dish. Amazing prawns were enormous ans topped with a great sauce and walnuts. Chicken spicy and delicious! We are staying quite close might do it again.

Sorry, I did not find this sooner. My loss.

By maimy76 |

Really, really good I live a short three blocks from this restaurant and had never gone in. One day I stopped in for lunch all by myself. I had a delicious lunch the staff was fabulous. The service was excellent. I decided to give it a try with two other people. again, everything was superb! We had a wide variety of food, and loved all of it. We had steamed peashoot dumplings. Delicious. We had vegetable fried rice. Really really good. We had scallion pancakes. Yum! We had chicken shumai .Great! We had chicken with mixed vegetables. Very ,very good. Our waiter, I believe was the son of the owner, he was terrific! Very attentive, and never said no to anything for which we asked. Highly and definitely recommend this restaurant.

Fake, horrible and disappointing. If you know what a good dumpling taste like, then Stay clear of this dump.

By jordanm652 |

For 50 years i have been an avid connoisseur of dumplings worldwide. Unfortunately I am stuck in Lenox Hill hospital for two weeks and sent my Vietnamese wife and daughter to eat at this over rated dump. The dumplings were tasteless, stale and too chewy at best, and the soup awful. The main course was also greasy and terrible. And the price was overly costly for such a disgraceful meal. The leftovers and my take out went straight into the garbage. A shameful dining experience to stay clear off.

First Rate

By billyboy18 |

Superior Chinese restaurant on the Upper East side, an eight minute walk from The Mark hotel. Upscale appearance and fine service just a bit too fast. Started off with pork buns alas bit chilly on the inside. My wonton soup was excellent and the hot and sour soup just a bit behind. Glorious bran curd Home style, spicy and silky and terrific sautéed shrimp in chili sauce not cloying at all. Price was 63 bucks for two but well worth it.

Another great lunch at Tri Dim Shanghai

By Justin W |

I love coming here for lunch and dinner. The service is so nice and the food is wonderful and there is such a nice assortment of different types of dishes. It is not the standard Chinese restaurant. I had the Pork and Crab Soup Dumplings and the Peking Duck rolls for my appetizers and they could not have been more delicious. The soup dumplings were freshly made for me and were light and rich and with every bite you got a squirt of the juicy meat. The Peking Duck rolls were served with a wonderful plum sauce and it brought out the tanginess of the meat and fresh vegetables. For the main dish I had the spicy Dan Dan noodles and I have to say that they really cleaned out my sinuses. They spiciness of the meats and chilies rid me of my cold. They were so tender and the meat was spiced the right way it was a wonderful combination of flavors and textures in one dish. The service was very nice and quick and they do make a fuss over you when it is quiet.

Wonderful Soup Dumplings and Noodle Soup

By Justin W |

This is the second time I have been to Tri Dim and the food has been wonderful both times. I have had their pork soup dumplings both times and they are delicious. I can tell that they are made to order here and trust me are very juicy. They give you six plump dumplings and they are excellent. I had a light dinner this time and had the Shanghai Noodle Soup with chicken and it was a nice combination of fresh noodles, bok choy, sauteed chicken in a rich chicken broth perfect for a cool evening. The restaurant is designed in cool colors and is very elegant. The service is extremely friendly and very quick. The meal was nicely paced.

best chinese in midtown

By indur s |

exceptional cuisine with top class service. do not miss an opportunity to dine here. beef with leeks- great, xo prawns - none better... ii could go on for ever.

Haven’t had a bad meal there yet.

By mshope40 |

Sister restaurant of Tri Dim West. Except for the decor, there are no differences in menu, service or food quality. The food is much less greasy or loaded with sugar than the Chinese restaurants north of Chinatown. Very efficient service, whether for delivery or eating at the restaurant, This restaurant is ideal for diners who can’t stand the heat from the food in the so-called Szechuan restaurants. Lots of unspicy food to choose from, although if you want heat, they have lots on the menu. However, it’s not cheap.

Favourite neighbourhood Chinese!

By ChrisTravellerUS |

Have eaten here recently a number of times and is now our go-to neighbourhood Chinese restaurant. All dishes are great with the hot and sour soup having a more peppery flavour than normal which really works. Xiao long bao dim sum is the best we've had in NYC including Chinatown. Excellent value with the weekend lunch special menu which includes both of these great dishes. Good decor and atmosphere with attentive service.

An unforgettable experience, for all the wrong reasons.

By Sally Harding |

The manager at this place is awful! He was rude to a lady in a wheelchair who had difficulty entering the restaurant. Due to terrible access, through no fault of her own. He then went on to insult a young girl with a serious nut allergy, by tutting and rushing her through the menu, then finally moaning at her and making comments for only ordering a desert. As on lookers we were left gobsmacked by what we had witnessed. The food is average and there is way too long a wait between dishes. Avoid this place, you’ll be very disappointed.

Great dim sum

By George H |

We had a great lunch. The hot and sour soup was excellent and DO NOT pass on the dim sum. The pork bun was one the best we've ever had. The scallion pancake was also excellent. Very fast service

A wonderful Chinese restaurant in nyc

By 141Dini |

We went with friends and one of them was friendly with the owner and chef. We had an amazing meal with outstanding service. I cannot wait to go back. Nice ambiance and delicious food. The lobster and the duck were so delicious. We had been looking for a favorite Chinese in Nyc and now we found it. Highly recommended

Wonderful Food & Wonderful Service

Have never been disappointed here. The Chicken Soong with Iceberg Lettuce is especially good. Excellent value.

Wonderful lunch special and the Duck Spring rolls are delicious

By Justin W |

When I am visiting the Metropolitan Museum of Art and want a nice lunch, I walk a few blocks away to Tri Dim Shanghai for their daily lunch special which runs until 3:00pm. I highly recommend it. I had the Duck Spring rolls which were slices of Peking Duck tucked into Spring Roll wrappers with sliced vegetables and served with a plum sauce. These were pan fried and cooked to a golden brown. They were delicious. I had the Hot & Sour soup with my meal and it had a nice flavor from the soy and the fresh vegetables and hot pepper corns. The entrée was the Tangerine Beef which was deep fried in a sweet/pungent sauce with slices of Tangerine in the dish served with fresh steamed broccoli. The dish had a nice hot and spicy flavor to it. The portion size for lunch was very generous. The service was attentive and friendly and the food came out on a timely basis if you are in a rush for lunch.

Go there often for lunch special. Excellent value with wide choice of dishes. Also been there for dinner. Great Peking Duck. Nice atmosphere

Superb Shanghainese fare, excellent service

By WindsorTudor |

Tasteful Chinese decor, a superb authentically Shanghainese menu and gracious service, all at reasonable prices. There was a slight mix-up initially with our reservation, but otherwise, perfection! Definitely worth a visit.

Solid Dim Sum on UES

By Shanette C |

The dim sum at Tri Dim Shanghai is very well done, although the portions are about twice the size of what you'd find being pushed around on carts in Chinatown. There were only two of us at my recent visit for lunch, and we probably could have ordered a little less, but we did end up eating it all because it was just so darn good. Stand out dishes are the pork soup dumplings, the crunchy shrimp balls (my favorite), and the gai lan, which is not dim sum but worth ordering all the same - it's a type of Chinese broccoli and it comes steamed in a light brothy sauce and a little oyster sauce drizzled on top. Dim sum is ordered off the menu, not by choosing off carts, which is fun. And, the menu isn't as extensive as if you were in a true dim sum place (I was sad they didn't have chicken feet on offer). But, what they do have is very good, and served by friendly attentive staff.

first time to have a DELIVERY, very good

By Paula K |

we lost our long-time Chef Ho's to a fire (it was on 2nd Avenue). We tried Tri Dim Shanghai, I had been researching and been disappointed in some we have tried. I am a cook, chef and particular about food. We ordered tonight and it was packaged nicely, still warm and good. We would love the eggplant in garlic sauce to be more spicy and more sauce, and the moo shoo pork more sauce but, all in all, we enjoyed. Slippery chicken and spinach very good. thank you.

Dan Dan Noodles...Yum Yum

By Joelamountain |

We met my girlfriend’s cousin here for lunch and had a very nice time. The restaurant was busy but quiet enough to have a conversation. We started with seafood dumplings and crispy duck rolls; they were ok. My Dan Dan noodles were great, a nice combination of Sichuan pepper and chili. The ladies had a noodle soup and a beef dish called “Ants on a Tree.” I didn’t try the soup but the beef was pretty good. Service was great, attentive but not overbearing or pushing us out the door. We didn’t see a lot of places to eat on the UES after we left the Met, and this turned out to be a good choice.

Outstanding dining experience

By David H |

My husband and I love Tri Dim Shanghai - excellent cooking, service, and dining experience. They keep getting better every time we visit. They just keep on getting better every time we visit them. Note - try their Juicy steam buns and dumplings. We always try different dishes. The "Large Prawns in XO sauce" we had last night was, simply, amazing. Love the orange sherbet - beautifully presented in an orange and so tasty. Very healthy too. Great job.

Great Dim Sum

By Alanhimmelstein |

We were at a nearby hospital visiting and decided we wanted Dim Sum. A friend who lives in the area recommended this place. The service was fantastic, the food even better. We could not have picked a better place. Three of us shared six different Dim Sum items. The food was so good, we went back for dinner and ordered Chinese entrees. They was as good as the Dim Sum was for lunch. Once again, the service was superb. We will go out of our way to eat here in the future.

Good Food & Good Service

By tweber88 |

Went here to celebrate my oldest daughter's birthday. Food was good with some different dishes we hadn't tried before. Serving sizes were decent as we ended up with leftovers. Service was excellent. Very attentive wait staff.

Disgraceful

By Javi80NY |

I placed an order for delivery from this restaurant online. Before my meal arrived, I got notifications from my credit card as the restaurant decided to make a second charge without my approval. Then, I called the restaurant immediately to see what that was about and their response was that they expected a higher tip so they just went ahead and charged my credit card with the amount they decided without my consent. After that, I told them that it was completely illegal and asked them to cancel my order and don’t deliver the food when they confirmed that would cancel the charges. However, 2 days afterwards the charges had been posted on my account and I’m still disputing them with credit card company. In the end, I will not have to pay for that but it is completely outrageous that a restaurant unilaterally decides to charge your credit card and then lie to you about cancelling the order in case you don’t check your statement... There’s tons of amazing Asian restaurants on the UES. Please do not allow dishonest people like them to get away with this type of behavior and go somewhere else!

Great food!

By CharlieinTexas |

Dinner with friend and family on a Sunday night - 10 people in all. Reservation honored, seated promptly. Efficient service, very business—like, seemed a bit more patient with the ordering process at times. Great food! Everything we ordered was delicious. Egg drop and wanton soup, duck egg rolls, spare ribs, various dumplings, two shrimp dishes, two beef dishes, pea shoots, Peking duck, and more. Comfortable venue. I thought the prices were reasonable for upper east side. Worth trying.

A Wonderful Find on the Upper East Side!

By Linda A |

With a yen for dumplings, I stumbled on this wonderful restaurant. Just reading the menu, I wished I had come with friends to try the great selection of dumplings, shumai and main course dishes from China and particularly Shanghai. There were many dishes that I have not seen on most restaurant menus outside of Chinatown and Flushing. Since I was dining alone, I sat at the bar, tried a few dishes and vowed to return. The steamed pork buns were wonderful, a bit smaller than most so they were easier to eat and you tasted the pork meatball and flavorful soup better. The Peking Crispy Duck Roll appetizer tasted as if I had ordered an elaborate Peking Duck main course with a crispy roll around succulent duck and crispy vegetables, with the requisite Hoisen sauce. I could not resist one more signature dish, perfectly prepared green beans with soft baby eggplant in a delicious sauce. The restaurant has friendly welcoming service and attractive décor – the Maitre’d and waitresses made me feel that I was a guest in their home, with recommendations, conversation and warm smiles, which was particularly nice since I was dining by myself. I live nearby so I look forward to returning often!

Middle aged Chinese man

By Hungry Bert |

Be wary of the middle aged Chinese waiter/ manager. Avoid this man if you have any serious disabilities or allergies because he does not take kindly to either.

Lunch

By maimy76 |

Just adequate. Nothing special. Staff not particularly friendly or helpful. I ordered a chicken dish that was marked spicy. It had no taste at all.The spring roll was greasy. I had to ask for everything. They did not bring things as they should have. I.e. sauce for the spring rolls. They do not tell you this but they charge a dollar more for the lunch special if you eat in. I did call and speak with the owner He was not particularly interested.
