Hidden wealth in a vault

By Richard B |

Have a meal in a disused vault? That caught our attention then we arrived. The hospitality industry is so competitive but this team made it seem easy. The service was effortless and the food was better than expected given the price. We've paid more for worse value. Give this place a go, you will not be disappointed.

Relaxing Friday

By KeriGreen |

What a great spot- awesome service- Karen is great! Meals were lovely and perfectly timed. Loved the vault and ceilings. Overall super pick!

Hey, Steak Tartare, Need I say anything more?

By Maui M |

Had a great meal in a seriously cozy (in a good way) room behind the second of TWO Massive bank vault doors. Lots of places make mention of dining in "an old bank vault" blah blah blah..... But this one actually does. We loved it. Great food, good prices, friendly service. We were definitely out of towners (The bar was hopping with after work young folks scene) and they sat us in the quieter back dining room which is a really, really nice room. Steaks, great, wine list, decent, nothing overpriced...... and steak tartare! Who could ask for anything more.....

Enjoyable dinner

By Marc_and_Kim_Z |

Great place in the financial district. Menu has a lot to offer. We had beet salad, scallops and a pasta. Finished with delicious cheese cake. The bar is in the vault and look like a good vibe. Next time we’ll give it a go. Would have been a five experience but the cabaret tasted more like a Chianti.

Will never go there again!

Restaurant in the 21st century that cannot take Samsung/Google pay for invoice, No thank you I will never ever go there again!

Great Lamb

By lotoguy |

The lamb special was awesome and the risotto. The staff was all helpful and nice atmosphere. The cesar salad was very plain and chicken was dried out. Biggest complaint was that our waiter was forgetful ordered drink 3 times and took 15 minutes to finally get it. Ordered soup of the day Tomato Basil and they brought clam chowder!

Nice meal, historical ambience

By 673sheric |

Went here on a recommendation from a friend. We had a Saturday night reservation at 6:30pm - seated promptly, greeted by our server right away for a drink order. My Manhattan was smooth and tasty and the rest of my party enjoyed their cocktails. I would recommend the chicken. It was cooked perfectly. My husband had the same dish, but felt the portion was too small. Probably wouldn't go back with so many other restaurants to try in the city, but it was pleasant experience overall.

Cool Bank Vault!

By Andy T |

came here for dinner on a Sunday evening. Lovely atmosphere and very comfortable. Four of us all ordered different mains and all were impressed by food quality. All manageable portions too except my colleagues Soba noodles which looked massive!! Mahi Mahi was very tasty. Excellent service too. Very nice evening.

Nice atmosphere, superb food, fantastic service.

By WillG1519 |

Had a wonderful Saturday night dinner. The atmosphere is unique...a bank vault, dim lighting, wood and metal interior, very romantic. The restaurant had nice mix of younger couples out for a belated Valentines dinner to older couples. The service was exactly what an upscale eatery should be, very attentive, not rushed, and our waiter knew each item and explained any questions we had. We started with steak tartare, a shared caesar salad, and cocktails. For our main course, she had the ahi tuna grilled perfectly rare I had the lamb shank and loin, med rare. The dinners were superb and the entire experience was quite enjoyable. Trinity Place is a gem in the Financial District.

Great little place

By Mand33 |

Found this place online, historic bank vault pub with great food and drink. Take a while to locate, but a little gem of a place to visit.

Good food, great drinks

By Need To See It All |

Very interesting atmosphere and history. The door alone is worth seeing, and the food and drinks make this a good choice for a fairly relaxed dinner.

Great dinner in a bank vault!

By CanisCibusMom |

After a day visiting tourist attractions in Southern Manhatten. This was a wonderful way to end the day. Eating dinner inside a bank vault was unique and fun. There were 4 of us in our party and we were seated quickly. We had an early reservation so the restaurant was pretty quiet. The Moscow Mules cocktails were delicious. I can't remember the name of our waiter but he was well informed about the menu when we had questions and all the service staff were very attentive Our meals were fresh cold with haricots verts, Kobe burgers, and Kobe sliders. All were cooked to perfection. For dessert, we enjoyed their cheesecake and whiskey truffles. Prices ranged between $20-$30 for entrees, with good sized portions. Highly recommend for a different casual dining experience after visiting the 911 Memorial and Frredom Tower.

Dinner at the bank

By Alberto C |

I had already dined here in 2019 and remembered an original and still elegant environment. Soft lights in a bank transformed into a restaurant and, certainly not an obvious detail, a lamb with polenta that was truly out of this world. I returned in 2023 and no longer found the lamb, but an excellent fillet. The ambience hasn't changed, even if I happened upon it on a somewhat noisy evening, and the restaurant is always very suggestive, the choice is diversified and the wine list is rich. Prices in New York standards. Advised.

Unique Bank Restaurant on Broadway

By JBentraveler |

This restaurant has the ambience of an old bank with a very cool safe style entree way and the food is good. We ate lunch here last week at the bar and decided on a rainy night not to walk far, but to give dinner a try. The main restaurant, white table cloths, was full so we eat in the bar area. We started with an onion tart and meat charcuterie. The tart was much larger than expected and quite good. The charcuterie was not as big and not worth it. For entrees we had the ravioli, tuna soba noodle salad and the grilled salmon. The main meals were large and good. The ravioli and tuna dishes were preferred over the salmon. It was in a stew like broth and was the weakest of the three. For a not that busy in the bar, we were a little disappointed with the server as it appeared she would rather talk to employees than speak to us. Even though this happened we liked the food and would come back.

They locked up my vote

By Wayne M |

I can’t even count the number of times I have walked right by this place and never even considered stopping by. A friend wanted to meet for dinner and didn’t want to walk far. Taking a chance, I offered Trinity Place since it was near his hotel. Wow! Service was friend, the crowd cheerful and the food was spot-on. Now I’m looking for the opportunity to return.

A first

By David M |

My first time in a restaurant where all five meals were wrong, apparently they ran out of Fries. Food took about an hour. I requested bread with my leek and potato soup (approx 30 ml) and received approx 30 sq cm of bread. Plenty of butter. Nice glass of Cabernet Sauvignon, which earned a star.

Great food, cool atmosphere, but it got very LOUD

By Jessica S |

The food was really good, and I loved the atmosphere. The vault was cool and location was great. I would definitely go back, but hopefully it wouldn't be quite so loud next time! I could barely hear my husband across the table.

Probably the best Beef & Guinness pie I've ever had!

By ScouseMad |

Great location in an old bank vault with the enormous vault doors still in place and swung open for you to walk through into the bar and then the restaurant. Most of the staff were friendly although one seemed like he didn't want to be there! Took a while to order but the food was worth the wait. Beef and Guinness pie was one of the best I have ever had; probably the best ever!

UNREAL FOOD AND AMAZING SERVICE!

By Luis |

Needed a place to eat after 9/11 memorial, quick search on google led me to this place, original bank vault doors and setting on pictures attracted us to it right away. Walked in for lunch off the street with no booking and was welcomed right away for a table for me and my partner. Service was incredible from the word go by our server (Emily if I remember correctly) ordered some incredible cocktails (espresso martini- highly recommended!) food quickly followed!. We spoke briefly to a gentleman called Jason. He gave us some recommendations for other places to eat during our stay and he also sent a dessert on the house which was incredible (sticky toffee pudding)! Just want to say a massive thanks for the pleasant experience and I would recommend this place to anyone looking for something different with tasty food, atmosphere and service!!

Great food and excellent service

By 613Traveler613 |

After visiting the 9/11 museum we found this restaurant which is inside a former bank vault (a very large vault!). It is sometimes hard to find a restaurant with a menu that satisfies the tastes of our multigenerational family. Our grandson loved that the menu included grilled cheese sandwiches while my husband chose a pasta dish, our daughter a hamburger, I had grilled scallops. All were delicious! A few days later, after our trip to Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty, we decided to return for another meal. With so many places to eat in NYC, you know it must be a good restaurant if you go twice in one trip.

Lucky to Get a Table

By NikkiA179 |

Friday, early evening place was packed, standing room only, glad friends went earlier to get a table in the bar area. Restaurant area is in the back of the space and is sectioned off. This would have been a mediocre first visit except that our server made this a great stop, she was so fast and friendly, maneuvering effortlessly throughout the crowd . The cocktail list pleased our group of seven and the “on the house” shots our server brought out were the surprise. Cheers to our Irish server who made this place an exceptional stop!

Terrific find!

By Stefanie |

We were at the 9/11 Memorial and decided we were hungry right at noon. We reserved a table for 2 via Open Seating and boom - we got right in (NOTE: it started filling up shortly after we got there!). The Ceasar Salad was super tasty and my husband's burger was cooked exactly as he wanted (medium rare). The decor is very interesting - the vault doors are HUGE and the plaque at the entrance is informative.

Great Food, Not so Great Service

By Chris A. |

Went here as it was close to our hotel. The decor is neat, you enter the restaurant through a large vault door. The bar area reminds me of a speakeasy and is cozy. Everyone in our group enjoyed their meals and the appetizers. The only negative was the service. We had to wait a long period of time for drinks, and had to ask for some items multiple times. The restaurant wasn’t incredibly busy so I’m not sure if there were other issues. Possibly it was an off night, so hopefully it’s something they can resolve.

A bar hidden inside an old bank from the early 1990s

By Adventure Diva |

How cool is it to have the opportunity to eat in a converted old bank? To enter through a thick steel door from the vault, you feel like you're in another world. Classy decor and soft lighting creates a nice atmosphere.

Good lunch

By fkher |

Excellent downtown restaurant for lunch. Good comfort food menu, attentive and prompt service as well. Interesting setup inside an old bank with the vault room open for those that want a different experience. Good sandwiches and salads, not gourmet but good food done well at reasonable prices

Had to visit the vault

By jjcoffman |

Had to stop in here and check it out. It's a cool spot to take a break when strolling the city. The caramelized cheese tortes are amazing!

Great place for lunch

By angharadlharris |

I had lunch at Trinity Place whilst on holiday in New York. It is conveniently located close to Wall Street, the World Trade Centre complex (for the 9/11 memorial and museum as well as the new observatory at One World Trade Centre) and not far from the Charging Bull statue and Battery Park where you catch the ferry for Liberty Island and Ellis Island. If you want to eat here I would suggest making a reservation in advance as we did - it’s popular and busy. My husband chose the Kobe burger and I had duck with bacon risotto. Both meals were very tasty and cooked to perfection. Portion size was more akin to what you’d get in a good gastropub in the UK than the enormous plates American restaurants are known for which suited us just fine. The service was very good too - quick, polite and very helpful. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a hearty meal.

Nice location, good Burger and cosy atmosphere

By Christoph B |

I visited Trinity Place together with a friend in August 2017. Service was friendly and fast and we felt like valued customers. I chose a Kobe Burger from the bar menu, which tasted very good. However, I wasn't able to tell if it was Kobe beef or not; I guess it is a matter of trust. They have a nice choice of beers and drinks on their large bar. It is a very cool place, where at the entrance you can find a real vault door - very impressive! All in all I can recommend Trinity Place since it provides good value for money.

Dinner in NY

By Evargsum |

Last here in 2013 and then only for drinks, this time decided to have dinner. The setting is weird as you enter through what was once a vault of the building above, but once inside it is a really friendly atmosphere. Service was excellent with waiters appearing just when you needed them and not being too obtrusive. Menu is not overly large but has enough to satisfy most palates. I had the Waygu burger, and have to say I think it is simply the best burger I have ever had. My wife and the Boullabaise and again was very impressed with it.

Way Better than I expected with delicious food and drink

By SouthFloLifestyles |

We were looking for a late night place to eat that was kid friendly and Trinity Place came up with some good reviews. The food was way better than I expected. I had the Onion Tart appetizer and the scallop entree! My husband had the burger. It was all 5 stars delicious. Actually very gourmet with a flair of something super special in flavor and presentation and the portions were pretty big. I certainly expected it to be regular American fair, but it was super delicious. I love the fact that they kept the Vaults in tact and actually made them part of the decor/theme. Not sure if I'd bring my 4 year old son here late night, but he totally enjoyed the vaults and they had a pretty good kids menu. They also have a really nice bar and they make the best Old Fashion drinks I've ever had. I had two just to make sure it was consistent and it was!

Superb food, great place!

By captkirkham |

Found this place when researching somewhere different to go to in New York on our 4th visit to the city. The conversion of the vault to a bar has been done superbly and it's really interesting to see many of the original features, especially the awesome doors. Never been anywhere like this before. Great place to just sit and chill and soak up the atmosphere. Great selection of beers, tried one recommended by the waiter which was spot on but can't remember the name....doh! My wife and I had a lovely meal as well. I had the Kobe burger which was absolutely superb, without doubt the best burger I've ever had. Cooked to perfection, excellent ingredients, nicely presented and with a top quality salad. My wife had the lamb salad which was also superb, again, the meat was cooked perfectly, nice and pink inside how it should be, all with a great mix of ingredients to make an interesting and tasty salad. The staff were all very friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Couldn't fault this place at all, don't hesitate to go if you get the chance.

What? What did you say?

By thefishieone |

I just dined with customers at Trinity Place downtown, per their Recommendation. I Hope you’re not in a hurry, as the service was deplorable. The waitress whispered when She spoke to us and disappeared for most of the meal with major gapping in service. The bar room is incredible loud with busboys slamming and breaking dishes or within 10 feet of you. I will not go into food details because it’s not worth the effort. Do yourself a favor and politely tell your customer you have another dining suggestion if they bring this place up.

Worst Service Ever

By Fatguyhat |

Stopped by for a drink and walked to the bar and tried to order a couple of drinks. Was told by the girl behind the bar to go back to my table and the server will be over. Having sat there for fifteen minutes still no sign of the server. Made eye contact with the bar staff, nothing. There were only 8 people in the whole bar so difficult not to miss us. Walked out, never going back.

It could be better

By Mark Verhoeckx |

We really felt like eating here because of the location, but we found it a bit disappointing. It was very loud and the food was mediocre. At the well-known chains we have better burgers than the burger here which was quite dry. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

My college had an alumni event at this restaurant.

By TennisStar602 |

This restaurant was on the side of the main entrance to this building. This restaurant had many side rooms and it had nice architecture. The bathrooms had individual rooms. The staff members were friendly. I tasted many hors d’oeuvres and I had a wide selection of alcoholic beverages.

LOVE LOVE LOVE

By Tina LaRea |

Trinity Place has become one of our go-tos. The food, service and ambiance are PERFECT... ALWAYS. We never question the quality of this place and HIGHLY recommend it! Everything on the menu is scrumptious and prepared to perfection.

In the Vault

By Lolly’s Look |

The had a great dinner with friends in The Vault. It’s a historical bank vault turned restaurant. It had romantic low lighting and a fantastic ambiance. The prohibition drinks were good and the menu was delicious. It was an all around great dinner experience.

Bar in a bank vault

By MDNied |

The address and the entrance are on different streets. Your gps is not off. You are not crazy. You walk thru the bar to get to the restaurant? A diverse menu. Great servers. Excellent food. Tasty desserts.

Great location, noisy and mediocre food

By Michael I |

The location and setting is really good. Stepping though the big vault door adds some theatre to your visit. We were seated quickly, but it took a bit of time for our order to be taken. The mains arrived quiet quickly, but not as fast as most other places in new work that we ate. The first impression was that the portions were small, not just small for America but properly small. MY wives onion tart was reported as being "fine" my gnocchi was strange. it had 4 or 5 main components which were nice enough but there was no cohesive flavour or anything to pull it together. And then the bill came, almost $40 for two tiny mains and no drinks!

Why have I not been here before!

By LDoyle615 |

Where do I start!? This place is phenomenal! The restaurant is built inside of an old bank vault...not just any bank vault, but one the was commissioned by Andrew Carnagie! The old vault doors are still there and the decor is a lot of Wall Street interest. The food is American fare and absolutely delicious. Price is very competitive for NYC and the associates were very friendly, knowledgable and accommodating. If you are visiting the city near the WTC, this is worth the stop!

Cool interior, Good Food

By jtbabi |

We had a hard time finding the entrance and walked down the wrong street a few times but when we finally found it the interior was really cool! There weren’t a ton of lunch options but the ravioli was delicious (although the portion could have been larger). The Burrata was amazing highly recommend!!

Great restaurant

By redneck6497 |

Really great food, nice atmosphere. I was looking for a healthy restaurant to relax in, and I found it. Had the tuna salad. Nice, fresh tuna and excellent noodles.

Trip advisor reviews led to a great find

By Catherine L |

We always like to try new restaurants when we travel to NYC. Trip Advisor reviews led us to Trinity Place and we were not disappointed. Cost was reasonable for a NYC restaurant. Setting was nice, they take reservations, no formal dress code so we were not out of place in our travel clothes of jeans and shorts. Food was very good, service was attentive. We recommended this place to our friends, who are locals.

Unexpected find

By Jennifer S |

Wonderful food atmosphere and service. Prices are very reasonable for NYC. The food was very good especially the pate and bread pudding dessert

Unusual venue and very good food!

By ajkagain |

I was initially attracted to the historic significance of the place -- it's not often one would have the opportunity to eat in the midst of one of the largest bank vaults ever built and the surroundings were, indeed, lovely. My lunch was also very tasty -- I selected a salmon entree with an accompanying glass of Chardonnay and enjoyed them both, down to the very last bite. The only slightly disappointing aspect was that the staff seemed to be very uninformed about the history of the vault. When walking in, I asked the hostess if there was information on the history included in the menu she was about to give me and she told me that no, I would have to go back to the front of the restaurant to read about it. In fact, there was a historical page included in the front of the cocktail menu. After reading the information and finishing my meal, I got up to look for one of the historical aspects mentioned in the description and asked one of the wait staff for direction -- she said she didn't have any idea what I was talking about, despite the fact I described it, word for word, from what was written in the menu. I would think that if you are lucky enough to be situated in such an interesting historical spot, it would be sensible to see that your staff were educated a wee bit on that historical significance.

First time in the VAULT for our 25 Year Anniversary Party!!!

By msdet1529 |

This is our first visit to Trinity Place in the Financial District steps from Freedom Tower for our company’s 25th year anniversary party, BE Princess, Private Jet and Aviation in-cabin supplies!!! With the history of the vault doors installed in 1905 and the building built around the double door vault, this place is classic, old style, long bar, great food and super superb service!!! We had the entire eatery which was closed to normal business on a beautiful clear Saturday night. Greeting us and in charge with our party was AMY, who is the GM of the location. She was super kind, polite, and what ever we needed, any questions that needed to be answered, Amy was the main person and on point to help us out for any party needs... thank you Amy!!! JOSE the bartender kept all of our guests happy with a filled glass of wine, beer and spirits!!! Cheers Jose!!! Waiting on the party of 38 family, friends, and venders from all points of the United States, KAREN and DENISE offered great non-stop, excellent, professional service, Thank you ladies!!! All of the staff present in the dining room and kitchen staff offered exceptional service to our guests. The appetizers during our happy hour consisting of Lollipop lamp chops, beef Empanadas, beef hotdogs in blankets, chorizo bruschetta, Kobe beef Bite size slider burgers, pulled pork sliders, large shrimp cocktail, and the small sized grilled cheese and tomato soup, and the baked potato-leek soup, and assorted cheese platters. All of our apps were out of bounds filling, hot, flavorful, hitting the spot DELISH!!! Great job Chefs!!! The apps kept on coming non-stop All of our guests rave about the apps and they all over did it!!! Our dinner with a choice of salads or soup and for the main entree of Grilled Chicken, Rainbow Trout, Pork Chop, and Filet Mignon. Everyone had what ever tickled their palates. Everyone was happy and satisfied with their choices which was nice sized portion, hot and tasty, and yummy in our tummy goodness!!! We hired our own dessert bar from a company called “Sinfully Sweet” from Long Island so we didn’t have any dessert from Trinity Place. Our entertainment was a trio of skilled musicians consisting of piano, classical guitar and female lead vocals in which we also hired. They were AWESOME!!! Thanks Nicole, Desmond, and Nacim and sound man Jules!!! Overall, Trinity Place is, we think is a New York staple!!! With their two extremely large, heavy duty reinforced steel vault doors, you are walking into the vault, when the long bar that ends, the other vault door is at the other end, leading into the dining room. The parking is tough to none, around the area... you are in the city!!! Garage it!!! And the front door entrance to the location is in the middle of the block on Cedar Street between Broadway and Trinity Place. GPS sends you to another location so get to the above location and look for the signs. Great food, super drinks, superb service, and a staff that is on top of their game!!! We will be back!!! To another 25 years of Private Aviation!!!🛩🛩🛩 Enjoy!!!🍽🍽🍽🍸🍸🍸

Great food served in a loud place

By Linda M |

A little hard to find - we had to call even though we were on Broadway - the entrance is not on Broadway. Very cool space - the vaults are impressive. 7:30 p.m. reservation on a Tues, and both the bar and restaurant were packed. Service was good, but nothing exceptional. Duck w/risotto was yummy, but very rich. Tuna w/noodles was outstanding. My husband's pork chop was very good. Over-priced pear something or other cocktail was average at best. Might return if needed a place to eat in the area, but wouldn't make a special trip.

Great service and good food

By Connie R |

Stopped in here after arriving to the city. Very accommodating when we just walked in. Great service and good food. They were able to accommodate vegan needs even though not listed on the menu.

Cool pace

By Danella23 |

The place is really nice, cool bar. I had only lunch there but could imagine enjoying a drink or two at night. Food was ok, better place to go out and drink.

Very good restaurant on Broadway

By MHLorenz |

It is said to be one of the 5% best restaurants in New York and we were really satisfied. Prices are simply overpriced here too, but that's New York. A really great service team! Great! The lighting in the restaurant is so dim that I had to use my cell phone flashlight to even be able to read the menu. All in all, I recommend it!

2nd Visit

By Belinda J |

This is my 2nd visit to the Trinity Place & the drinks (Pear & Rosemary), the cheese plate and Salmon were perfect. I absolutely love the ambience of this restaurant (bank vault). Our waitress was top notch, timing her appearances perfectly. Will 100% recommend to others and frequent again!

Fine basic food

By Rbarkley8 |

Popped in for a late dinner. Burger was fine. Onion tart appetizer was yummy! Nothing special but fine for a quick option.

Interesting Bar and Restaurant

By Tim B |

The bar and restaurant are located behind a huge (and quite fascinating) vault door. There is a good selection of beers, and the menu is a little different than average. I had bouillabaisse, which wasn't that great. However, it's a fun place with friendly staff.

Good lunch

By crazyzete |

This was a good lunch choice in the city. Made a reservation for 15 minutes after I checked into the Conrad with my wife. Nice little bar. Quickly seated at a table. Ordered the tartare for an app. Plentiful tuna and salmon. Had Kobe beef burger for entree and a glass of honor version he. Tasty burger with salad and home fries. Very reasonably priced for the city. Great service.

Unexpected lunch

By jessicapG1242PS |

We went to the 9/11 museum, and wanted to eat locally. Found this great bar with cool bank vault doors. Food was excellent (lobster roll was very yummy). My margarita was strong and not too sweet. Service was quick and friendly. Would go back.

Unique Dining Experience

By Marjorie A |

So how many people can say that they’ve dined in a bank vault? This restaurant certainly has history and uniqueness. The decor is top notch from the entryway vault door to the old elevator shaft near the bar. I recently dined here for Sunday brunch. The food was fair and service just okay. I would however highly recommend the bread pudding for dessert. It was phenomenal!! I would return just for the dessert alone. It might have been bettered to visit for dinner instead of brunch. The menu would be a better representation of the food options. I think a return visit might be required to truly experience all this restaurant has to offer.

Amazing service & atmosphere

By laurenmiller620 |

We stumbled upon this place after our HeliNY tour. What a find!! Bar/restaurant set in an old bank vault. The atmosphere was INCREDIBLE. The espresso martinis were fantastic as was the food. Our server, Kareem, was THE BEST. He was so kind & even surprised us with a comped dessert! We found out from him that the place had been closed for a year due to the pandemic. It was their 3rd day back & they didn’t miss a beat!! Definitely stop by if you’re in the area.

Shame on you !

By Steve T |

Don’t go for the gimmick of ‘the vault’. We went to this place on the basis of the good (but old) reviews but the disappointment (last evening in NYC) couldn’t be greater. Long wait for drinks. Airconditioning icy cold. Very dim lighting and need for cellphone light to read the menus. The food doesn’t reflect in any way the pretentious description on the menu. Risotto with confit de canard (28 usd) shouldn’t have left any kitchen. It’s as tiny as and the rice is just not cooked properly The wagyu burger (?! 26 usd) is dry and the dish lacks any feeling for cooking meat. The filet mignon medallions (36 usd) are together as big not nearly as big as a one dollar bill. The broccolini were cooked so poorly (grill?) a dog could chew on it for at least half an hour. Service ? Main dishes were smashed on the table without even asking if we wanted drinks for the main course. After we finished (we left the rice) we were ignored for half an hour. No dishes were removed and the bill was presented without even asking if everything was ok. Is this all because we were labelled stupid tourists? Anyways, still a lot to learn from the original cuisines from the old world. Shame on you. This isn’t a restaurant, The length of the review reflects the anger when we stepped outside. RIP OFF !

a relaxing and delicious evening

Great food. several interesting items to choose from on the menu. Excellent service. Charming decor: set in an old bank vault.

Perfect pub in the Financial District

By Carinna M |

Came across here after walking Brooklyn Bridge! What a great find! Even at lunchtime was busy but not overcrowded!!! Great burger and pint!!

Knowledgeable wait staff

By Chicago_traveladdict |

My fish was cooked perfectly. More importantly, our server was knowledgeable about the ingredients in all the dishes and about what substitutions could or could not be made based on food allergies. He was able to provide this information without constantly going back and forth to the kitchen. It inspired a lot of confidence, and I had no ill effects after eating there. Make reservations. This place was surprisingly busy on a Tuesday evening, even in the bar area. If you do find a table in the bar, however, you can order food. They offer some nice special cocktails and a few mocktails as well. Also, the location entrance was counterintuitive. If you mistakenly go into the office building lobby, the security staff will kindly redirect you.

Excellent food, great ambiance

By Elizabeth S |

My husband and I dined here during our trip to NYC, and we loved it. We loved the decor and ambiance of the restaurant. My husband absolutely loved the steak tartare. My martini was the best-tasting and smoothest martini I have ever had. We completely recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting NYC!

Definitely not!!!

By Julie H |

So I made reservations almost two months ago to head here for dinner. Well a week out, I get a call from the hostess saying that she didn’t understand how I was able to get reservations as they were booked for a private event. I was so annoyed with the tone from this hostess to make it sound like I shouldn’t have gotten through with my reservation. Well she was schooled, as she was advised that my reservation was made almost two months in advance and obviously the restaurant wanted the private event and no consideration for customers who book in advance. Instead of apologizing for the inconvenience, she thought I would want to consider this place for another day with no concept of our plans. I would say if you want to eat here rethink it as there other options in the area that would provide better customer service

Hidden gem

By LouisemChapman |

We would never have found this place if it weren't for trip advisor but I'm glad we dud. Restaurant is in an old safe house and the vault is still visible to see. Food was gorgeous. Would recommend trying the clam chowder to start was gorgeous we shared and was glad as the portion was quite big. I had chicken under for a brick for main which was gorgeous and my husband had salmon which was really good . Highly reccomend

Fantastic Evening Meal

By Braveheartww57 |

Let me start with this- it's an historic building, beautiful inside and out. The bar is inside an early 1900's bank vault!!! Second, the background music was fantastic, start to finish!!!!And finally, the food was flawless.....filet mignon that needs no chewing, flavorful ribeye, bacon trimmed pork chop, and pan fried trout.....all great. The vegetables were so tasty from asparagus to multi colored carrots, to potatoes. Cocktails we're spot on- try the cucumber Cosmo, dessert chocolate cake yummy! And finally, the Bailey's and coffee was perfection. You can't miss with Trinity Place. P.S. - our waitstaff was also covering large tables, and she did it all with Grace.

The restaurant is inside of an old vault. We enjoyed a few glasses of good Sauvignon Blanc, and a couple of excellent Old Fashions. Our entrees were Seared Salmon, and Braised Short Ribs. We enjoyed them both.

Great place

Awesome place!! Food was great! We were large group. Service was great. They were very accommodating!! I Strongly suggest trying!! Duck confit great! Lamb awesome! Filet was done perfectly!!!

Quaint restaurant and bar in a bank vault

By cpc_fit |

An interesting restaurant in an old bank vault complete with the original vault doors. We didn't book but were lucky to find a booth. The place is quite noisy so it's difficult to have a conversation. The food is very good. Especially the steak tartare and the house cured salmon. Very good selection of drinks and dishes on offer.

Exceeded our expectations

By Cusetravellady |

We were looking for a casual place for a family celebratory dinner near the Millennium Hilton. The idea of the restaurant being inside an old Carnegie bank vault was intriguing. Like many of New York's good restaurants, there is no obvious sign outside- just "Trinity Place" over the door (I love this) and felt like it was our secret. We made reservations on Opentable and they seated us right away. The lighting is low, the woodwork is dark and beautiful. The bar is cozy and many couples looked happy enjoying their cocktails and food. The vault doors are still there and they are amazing, We sat in the back at a nice round table. The place was much more elegant than your average pub. The menu is American and creative. Prices are not too bad. The chef has good credentials and it shows in the food. We started out with oysters and Caesar salad. Several in our party chose the heavenly scallops for their entree. The filet, the duck, and the pork chop entrees also were delicious. Desserts and drinks were good. Service was competent but not exceptional. We were disappointed that our server turned our table over to someone else atfter dessert was served and it took a while to get the check. Overall, it was an outstanding experience and we can't wait to come back next time we are in the city!

Very Enjoyable - Good Food and Attentive Service

By linda e |

This restaurant is located just two bocks south of the Oculus. It is low key, and something of a hidden gem. But the food is quite quite good offering burgers, steaks and some vegetarian options.

Love this place!

By fitzhoyt |

This is a great place for lunch, especially after touring in this area. It's close to the One World Observatory & the 911 Memorial & Museum, Wall St., Battery Park, etc. This was my second time here & it didn't disappoint. We had the Kobe Beef Burger & it was REALLY GOOD!!! And, the service was great. I love the setting of being inside a former bank vault! Lots of character.

Good restaurant for Wall Street area lunches

Went with a business associate who I had previously only spoken to over the phone. Very relaxed pub/restaurant with good burgers and salads. Good service, moderately priced.

Amazing find in such a huge city

By Alison H |

We found this little gem of a place using Trip Advisor and it didn't disappoint. So good we went back the next evening. The bar was buzzy with efficient and friendly bar staff - even had good ale for a British real ale drinker! The dining room was well run with excellent, attentive and friendly staff. The food was amazing - we had beef rib and confit duck both times. Both times delicious. Thank you to Amy and her staff for two lovely nights out.

A great spot!

By Katie C |

This is such a neat place! The old vault gives a super cool vibe. The front bar area is loud, but the back space with the white table clothes is much quieter for conversation. Our food and drinks were excellent, and reasonably priced. We had the burrata, meat and cheese board, tuna appetizer and bread pudding. I would have given 5 stars here, but our server was unfriendly and disengaged... seeming very irritated by our questions. We still enjoyed our time here, but wished we had had better service.

Bank vault restaurant

This is a unique restaurant and bar because is a bank vault where you can eat or drink, it's quite huge , long place. Soup of the day was really great and kindly staff too.

A cosy American bar

I was there for a quick lunch before my flight. The Kobe burger was great and the pulled pork sliders were surprisingly tasty.

Awesome

By Andrew H |

My wife and I ate here. My wife (who is difficult to please 😁) says that the salmon is in the top 3 meals she’s never had! Genuinely. My steak tartare was gorgeous. And only $18. Wow! Go here, it has to be the best value and tasty quality food in the Financial District...

Great staff

By kg1108 |

Great staff!!! Espresso martinis are out of this world!! My cousin had a dirty martini and said it was one of the best. Chocolate beer was great as well!

Enjoyed our dinner

By Mary Ann N |

One of us had the organic salmon and that was excellent but the broccoli was over seared and bitter. The other had the duck confit, the duck was quite good, but the fall vegetable ragout was mixed in with the risotto and did not stand out at all. Nicole did a great job waiting on us this evening.

The ambiance pushes the rating up, for sure

By Russell M |

The food here is fantastic. So, don't let my comments about the cool ambiance diminish that aspect. The food was particularly good -- and a note for vegetarians: I had no problem picking some great choices. And (not but) the ambiance was very cool. Not just the being inside a bank vault aspect. The kind of place that seems incredibly local, which is no small feat so close to many touristy activities. One note: We had a heck of a time finding it via Google Maps (who directed us to an address on Thames), then we looked up the address (Broadway), which got us closer, but we still needed to ask for directions because it's really on a street perpendicular to Broadway (Cedar).

Really Cool Restaurant in Wall Street area

The entrance into the restaurant was like a bank vault door. The staff were extremely helpful and the food was very tasty. Definitely recommend

Good find for dinner in lower Manhattan

By MJGfromVa |

Trinity Place (adjacent to Zuccotti Square) is a somewhat unique space-- dining in a bank vault. I arrived without a reservation and was promptly seated in the bar area. Not until a later walk to the restroom did I realize that through a curtain, there was a more formal, quieter dining room (apparently with available tables), so I might have liked to have been given an option to sit there. Still, the service and food all were good. The chicken liver terrine with traditional accompaniments (cornichons, olives, etc.) was delicious (and ample for two, though I managed to devour it alone). The ahi tuna and soba noodles entree also was delicious. I knew in advance it was served chilled, and in hindsight, would opt for a hot entree, but that is not to take anything away from the food I ordered. All in all, I was satisfied to have chosen Trinity Place from among the walking-distance restaurants while staying in lower Manhattan.

I'm in a Vault!!!

By Curious446526 |

Amazing decor, good music played at a conversational-able volume, and good plates with delicious food. This imaginative restaurant is in a former bank vault and still has many of the vault features such as the doors and old brass fittings. The bar is stacked, the food is flavorful, and the plates are affordable. Service was a little off during our late lunch, but tables were plentiful available without a wait on a weekday. Located in the Battery within walking distance to the 9/11 Memorial, I really liked Trimity Place!

Great food

By Dan C |

Found this restaurant near our hotel. Intrigued by the fact that you eat in a former bank vault(and the doors are still there). Great service and great burgers. We had a few drinks, bottle of wine and a meal and it came to $50 a head. Not cheap but great quality and we ordered roasted Brussels sprouts and black pudding mash, which were very tasty. We would definitely go here again.

Tribe of Six Sisters Whirlwind NYC Trip

By Frances T |

My friends and I visited NYC for a long weekend and we were taken to Trinity Place by family who live in NYC. We walked over after touring the Oculus and the 9/11 Memorial Museum. The restaurant is built inside a bank vault...of a bank commissioned by Andrew Carnegie! We were promptly seated and we each ordered something different...each order was sensational! The drinks were cold and the food was hot and so tasty! We moved on to dessert...we were going to split a dessert between the six of us (LOL) but ended up receiving one of each dessert from the owner! Oh my, not enough words to describe these delicious treats! My personal favorite was the Sticky Toffee Pudding...incredible! The service was excellent and the price was certainly on target for the area. Without a doubt, we will return to this restaurant on our next visit!

Restaurant inside of an old bank vault

By Alynn28 |

We found this neat restaurant close to the hotel we were staying at. Great location in the Wall Street district. Very intimate restaurant and dark. This restaurant used to be a bank and you can enter the restaurant through the bank vault. Our server was nice and the food was fantastic! Drinks were good too. I would go back again!

Wall Street Vault Dinner

By Alep79 |

Dinner with my children, really curious location... dining inside an old bank vault on Wall Street... fascinating! Appetizers and very good dishes, we had tartare and rolls, cavatelli and nudles and hamburgers, all very plentiful. Correct price, great service

Just so-so

By KnightBull |

As a family of 5 we have mixed reviews. Service was wonderful but there was charge for refills on drinks (colas) even though it was hot enough to fry eggs on sidewalk. Kobe burgers were dry and lacked flavor. Only condiment served was ketchup for potatoes, which were quite tasty. Ravioli dish was yummy. Kids pasta with tomato sauce was plain, although meatballs were good. Had to ask for parmigiano cheese. Overall, just a so-so rating.

Disappointing service for our anniversary dinner

By Julie G |

I emailed the restaurant in advance to let them know we were coming for our anniversary and wanted a nice table. We were sat against a wall in a tiny corner table that was pretty small. They weren't busy, I felt like we could have had a more intimate, but bigger table. Our server was great in the beginning, bringing our cocktails, appetizers, bottle of wine and main course, but after she dropped our main course off, we NEVER saw her again and she didn't say a thing to us! We had to grab another server as we sat there and the other server told us that she left for the night! WHAT?! Fine, but no one decided to pick up our table? A great night turned into a mediocre evening as we felt like we were left hanging. The food was very good- the cheese and charcuterie plate was huge- could be a main course!

Tasty place with tradition dining

By Nir B |

We came for early dinner and found cost traditional place with verity of choices in the menu. We had the code fish, salmon and stake. All dishes came on time, and were very delightful. Waitresses was very charming and helpful. Price is also reasonable

Good food and atmosphere.

By car0linafamily |

This was a last minute choice for dinner but proved to be a good one. The restaurant was close to our hotel in the financial district. The service was very good and both of our meals were delicious. We didn’t have room for dessert but the choices were very tempting. The history of the building was interesting and atmosphere nice for a quiet meal.

Great lunch spot

By Tracy N |

Awesome atmosphere, service and food... the burrata was fabulous. The turkey burger had good flavor and was not dry at all...will definitely return

Great lunchtime experience in an unusual setting

By brixtontrev |

When I booked this for our group I wasn't sure, it being an old bank vault, that there would be enough room but was pleasantly suprised at how spacious it was. It did start filling up really quickly so its best to make a reservation in advance. The entrance is actually on Cedar Street at the south of Zuccotti Park. The staff were incredibly helpful and unlike another restaurant we went to were able to split the bill so that various members of our party could pay separately, either by cash or by card. The food was excellent and they were able and willing to accommodate the vegan in our party. I would highly recommend this place - for me it was one of the highlights of our visit

The brand needs consistency

By none |

The hotel is new and very clean. The rooms are tiny, but they are fairly priced. Unlike international Indigos, there is no local charm. There are no cute amenities tied to the area. I was told repeatedly, that is not the standard for the brand. However, it is internationally. I am unsure why IHG would have the same brand name for different style properties domestically and internationally. That said, the hotel offers good value.

Dinner in a bank vault

By wanted2bralph |

Hidden gem. We did not have reservations but the manager/owner found us a table. She made sure we were comfortable and well taken care of. Gnocchi was perfect. Sticky toffee pudding recommendation was spot on- delicious.

Dinner near the Trade Center

By JBentraveler |

Haven eaten at the Trinity Place before, we knew the place well. We were cold and decided to stop for dinner. The place was crowded on a Saturday evening and we sat at the bar. We ordered drinks along with a wagyu burger and the lamb shank. The burger was slightly over cooked for medium rare, but was good. The shank was unbelievable! It was a generous piece of lamb with soft polenta and carrots. This was a meal and was large enough that we shared. The services was great and we had a good time.

Trinity Place Experiencce

By marhow2001 |

Trinity Place is housed in Carnegie's bank vault, circa 1907, which at the time was the only one of it's kind. The entrance of the main dining room is the 35 ton vault door all shiny and looking new. This is an elegant dining experience, with vintage wood paneling and accents about, including the brass chandelier which originally hung in the bank upstairs. Chef Donal Crosbie's menu is full of spins on the usual continental fare which were executed expertly. The service was underwhelming but didn't impact the meal in any way noticeable.

Very disappointing!

By Rymao |

We had chosen this restaurant following certain recommendations but were very disappointed. Welcoming was very nice and we had a nice table without booking. However the dishes are very expensive and we did not find them very good... Avoid for example the Caesar salad essentially composed of green salad! So we went to eat dessert elsewhere! It’s a shame...

Very Nice Lunch with Interesting Menu

By Roger D |

We were meeting friends at the 9/11 memorial and needed somewhere to eat lunch. My wife found restaurants close by on her iPhone. We selected Trinity Place based on good reviews and price. So glad we did. Even as a party of six, with no reservations, they took us right in (after arranging tables). All of us ate something different with no disappointments. Their food is excellent.

friendly restaurant

By Mika M |

friendly restaurant with atypical and original decoration , very kind staff .good quantity food .

Great ambience

By Kate K |

There were two of us here. The ambience is very nice, an old money safe converted into a restaurant. The entrance door is so hard to open that we thought we were in the wrong place at first... Inside there is a bar, very loud, behind it is the restaurant. I had Ahi Tuna & Soba noodle salad. The tuna was fresh and delicious, the salad was unfortunately a bit dry and not very seasoned... My husband had confit duck leg risotto. The duck was crispy and tender, the risotto was perfect. The staff are very friendly. Next time we will sit at the bar and have a little something to eat... As it is a former vault, there are no windows here! Accordingly, it is also very dark, you see a lot of guests who need their cell phone camera to read the menu.

Eh...

By Mary Ann N |

The front door is not on Broadway, but around the corner, tucked in to the side. Hard to find in the rain. The food was just ok. My sister had broccoli rabe with her salmon the the broccoli was so heavily seared it was bitter/burned. The wait staff were not attentive with only half the tables full on a Friday night.

Equipment funny

Very cool - stop in

By Donna K |

I was out touring around and was fortunate to stumble upon Trinity Place for lunch today. It’s a very cool below street level spot in a gigantic vault. As the name implies, it has an Irish flavor. I didn’t have much but what I had was excellent. A superb potato and leek soup with Irish bread. Also enjoyed a Spritz Aperol. The manager, Kimberly, was so nice to me traveling alone today. My waiter was efficient. I absolutely loved my lunch break here!

Built inside of an old bank vault, interesting concept.

By Geminican |

The service was decent. The place was clean. The smoked duck salad was excellent. Highly recommend. I would revisit to enjoy this dish again. The pork chop main entree was a bit salty and dry. I would try other entrees such as Wagyu Burger. It's built in a vault of an old bank. Interesting concept.

Terrible and overratet restaurant!

By Júlíus S |

This place is very bad. Loud, bad service and screaming banksters. The air quality was also terrible. And this place did not accepted google/pay - and that is ridiculous!

Great food and atmosphere in a super location

By dlandoncole |

My wife and I were in New York for our tenth wedding anniversary and we decided to have a celebratory dinner at Trinity Place; it looked good and was near our hotel. We made a very good choice. The food was absolutely first-rate - I'd recommend the duck confit. Even though the restaurant was busy, the service was super. The restaurant is in a converted bank vault, complete with a massive, round door that wouldn't look out of place at Fort Knox. Between being underground and the decor, it feels almost like a speakeasy. It's one of the most unusual places I've had dinner! Perhaps unsurprisingly as it's in the heart of the financial district, it seemed to attract quite a lot of businesspeople.

By samuel w |

A really cozy place and a place that is fun to visit if you are nearby. The food was okay. Really good drinks and beer.

Cool history and perfect food!

By Visit DrunkPhotography.com |

I was invited here by my buddies and this is definitely a top-notch place to eat, and very interesting surrounding. I walk in and I see this huge vault door (35 tons and there are 2 vault doors there), which I thought was something that was added to the restaurant, but no, the vault was there first (when it was a bank), and the restaurant came much later. The restaurant used to be a bank, and the vault was put there in the early 1900s, and then the Trinity Building was built around the vault. The dining area used to be where private meetings were held, back in its banking days. It is really dark in there, but it makes for a calm scene. I saw that there was like 1 window in the place, facing the streets, behind the bar. Then it's lit mostly by a chandelier in the dining room and neon in the bar. I had the “Chicken Under a Brick”, which is a phenomenal dish with a whole roasted baby chicken, mouthwatering potatoes, extremely pleasing escarole, just unbelievable the whole meal. Y You will need to reserve your table, so plan way in advance, as it is popular, so you might have a better chance if you do a late-night reservation. You're going to pay a little more than normal, for food, but this food is seriously good. Everyone in my party was pleased. If you aim to please your spouse/partner, this is a great place to take them for a romantic setup.

Off hour treat

By AliTru |

We were in Lower Manhattan and were really hungry for lunch at 3:30pm. We went into Trinity Place (a really cool restaurant that used to be a bank vault). We picked this spot based on reviews, but they only had the Bar Menu available. We were so pleasantly surprised with the quality and amount of food—we ate a meal’s worth and were extremely happy with the freshness and flavor of the meals. We had the Kobe burger, the Kobe sliders, the Tandoori chicken skewers, the meatballs, the daily soup, and a green salad (field greens, arugula, baby lettuce, tomato, cucumber with a delicious light dressing). I can’t say enough about how good this meal was! Check this place out!

Cool old bank vault for lunch

By Fairport Travelers |

Stopped here for lunch one day, it's in the downstairs floor of an old bank, the old vault is right by the front door. Service was good, food came out fast. Chicken Caesar Salad was ok, not great. Looks like a great place to be on St Patrick's Day!

Unique Setting and Good Food

By Luci_J_M |

We were staying in the financial district and decided to give Trinity Place a try. It was a little difficult to find the door with the walking part of google maps. The ambiance is really unique and the decor adds to the vibe. It was interesting reading about the history of the bank. The food was very good. I had the pork chop and my son had the ahi tuna soba noodle salad. We were very satisfied with our meal and had room for the creme brulee and sticky toffee pudding for dessert. I'd come back again on a future trip.

Good food in a relaxing setting

By Colin R |

I enjoyed eating this Trinity Place. The bank vault entrance is quite impressive. Staff are courteous, food and beer were good.I would recommend eating here.

Cool bar located in old bank vault

By FlyDog33 |

Met some friends for after-work drinks here and had a good experience. Bar service was good, and we sat at a small table by the bar and ordered basic bar food. The bar in front and the restaurant in the back were separated by the giant, old-fashioned, open vault door which is a unique feature of this place. It’s located just off Broadway and convenient to the 4& 5 subway line and the NJ Path.

Leisurely Lunch

Nice lunch with in a clubby atmosphere. A little pricey and better for a more leisurely meal. Staff is very friendly and accommodating.

Wonderful food, unique setting, accommodating staff

By MassachusettsMaureen |

My son Max, having started his first post-college professional job in the financial district, and it being his Pepe Nelson's 81st birthday, we wanted to celebrate a bit in a memorable setting. )There is a lively bar in front and a well appointed dining room in back.) The Trinity Place restaurant certainly fit the bill! Our shared cheese board appetizer and all of our main courses were spot on! The staff was friendly and accommodating.

Worthy of a Stop

By The_Hailes |

I stopped in for dinner after a business meeting; who wouldn't want to step inside a bank vault. I enjoyed a Manhattan in Manhattan and a tasty Chicken Under a Brick. Food was good; not sure it was worthy the price.

Amazing ambience, great dessert

By simsinnyc |

I gave it 5 star just for their molten lava cake. I'm very particular about my desserts and their cake was one of the best I've had. Their menu had very few options for vegetarians/vegans but they were nice to work around the menu and accommodate to our special requests. Service was also excellent.

Good food and excellent setting

By RoteFuchs |

Trinity is located in and old bank safe right in the heart of lower Manhattan. The restaurants decor is traditional but cozy and the fact that you are in the safe of a bank ads to the atmosphere. Trinity serves a traditional lunch menu but the food is very good and the service is prompt and professional. This is an obvious choice for a lunch whether the occasion is professional or private.

What’s the fuss all about?

By AndreZetec |

What's the fuss about this place? There's a vault in the restaurant - so what??? Plus it's overpriced. Worst burger I had in a long time. Home fries were cold and mushy. A tourist trap

The vault is cool! Pricey for lunch

By Chris G |

Be aware that the menu on Trip Advisor is incorrect. I went there specifically for a Cuban sandwich which looked amazing on the TA menu description, but at the restaurant I was told that sandwich was "earlier in the season" and no longer available. I ordered the Ahi Salad with Soba noodles which was good, but for the price they were awfully skimpy on the tuna. Overall it was a pricey place for lunch: 1 salad, 2 beers, and 20% tip was over $50 for just one person. The service was great! The hostess was incredibly friendly and helpful. The massive vault door and seeing were they cut through the 5" thick steel walls of the vault to open it up to the restaurant is pretty cool!

Mid Week dinner with my daughter

We both had a burger(mine was beef, her's was turkey). We split the cheese tray. The food was very good. The service was not the best. Dining room was loud too.

Great food. Excellent service

By ShiBear |

I’ve been here before and ate at the bar. Food was great and actually had the same dish. Excellent house cured salmon, be sure to ask what it is if you don’t already know. This time I made a reservation and was seated in the back near a party of 20+. After 15 minutes Val, the manager, stopped by my table and inquired had I received my drink order. I had not even placed my order as the wait staff was still at the big table. Long story short-they made it up to me. Good Job! I’ll come back.

Don't waste your money..this place is not clean, moldy grapes and a moldy cheese board.

By Madchef777 |

Although our waitress was very nice the service was slow and the food was below par. It was clear there was only 1 waitress in a room of about more than 50 seats. I read the reviews and really wanted to give this place a chance since we were paying our respects to the 9/11Memorial near by. Our dishes were as follows, tuna tacos -tuna tasty but its stuffed in a frozen phyllo shell, why would you call that a taco? Empanadas were ok but the puff pastry was undercooked, cured salmon -came as a big chunk of salmon, who does that? I couldn't get over the execution as to why they couldn't take the time to thinly slice it. I actually sent that dish back. I tried it but it left a strange texture on my tongue. My friend got the duck confit, which was good but the risotto was mushy and over cooked. I was scared to order anything else so I just got a cheese plate. The board it came on had mold along with moldy grapes. The cheese selections were nice though. When I told the back server about the mold in the board, he looked at me and rolled his eyes. The manager just didn't bother although I'm pretty sure she knew we were not happy.. we all work hard for our time and there are definitely better restaurants worth trying.

A great time at brunch

By scintosteven |

My wife and I had brunch here on Sunday, and had an EXCELLENT experience! We sat at the bar, and were taken great care of by Catherine, the bartender. The food was terrific, the bloody mary was perfection, and everyone there made us feel very welcome. We just loved it, and will go back anytime we are in the area.

Excellent location and ambiance

By John O |

Really cool bar, within a huge 2-door bank vault from the 1900's. We ate in one of the executive meeting rooms. Still very cool atmosphere. My martini was served in a champagne glass... there is a difference. Also the drink was watered down. A real come-down. Expensive, which we expected, but lost some appeal when they watered down the drink. Wine by the glass was quite good. I ordered a Cod fish plate which tasted good, but it came as a stew, which I didn't expect. The broth was a very un-appealing greenish-brown. It tasted good, but I had to look away at the sight of it. My wife's salmon was similar: tasted good, but looked unappetizing. Service was good, and it was expensive, but we expected that. Cheese cake was delicious, but came as a cup-cake type thing.. Ugh! Grand Monier came in a sticky glass... are you kidding?

Don't fall for it...

By Peetjeccl |

The entrance is nice, nice environment, the vault. But then... At the table barely light. Having to use mobile light or you can't read the map (and we really weren't the only ones). The main course was thrown around the table and and we were not asked what we wanted to drink with dinner (their loss). Not to mention the ice setting of the air conditioning. Food was barely seen on your plate due to lack of light. The portions: small. After dinner was not asked if everything was ok. Paid but no tip and this for the 1st time this trip. Wake up and do something because this place is obviously okay while both the food and the service suck.

Great for families...who knew?

By TMKD425 |

I have been to this restaurant on many different occasions for business and was always pleased. During our recent family trip to lower Manhattan, decided this was the best place for us to eat in between the Statue of Liberty tour in the morning and the Freedom Tower Observatory tour in the afternoon. The food is fantastic and extremely well priced for children comma with their meals price at $8.95 that includes their entree and dessert. Lunch portion menu items for the adults is equally reasonable and the portions are more than sufficient and extremely tasty. Definitely a place to stop to relax, have a good meal and enjoy the ambiance that includes the legendary Vault doors that the kids will definitely like to look at and ask questions about!

Unique Dining Experience

By michellegH4921JT |

The restaurant is located in an old bank vault. You can still see the old vault doors. The food was very good as was the service. There is a little something for everyone. I would highly recommend Trinity Place. It was a fun evening.

Lunch near Ground Zero

By William W |

We came across the Trinity Place near the 911 Memorial. You enter through a bank vault into a restaurant that looks like it dates back many years. The menu was good and the service quick. We had The Smokie (smoked haddock in a cream sauce) and a Conn Salad. Both were very good.

A must visit !!

By Dollyncrumpy |

Had originally wanted to visit here on the Sunday as we had been in that district but it's closed at weekends - so had to see this place so much we went back on our last day before our flight which was a mission - but was worth it - it was very quiet but it didn't take the ambience away from it - food was perfect for what we wanted and love the safe doors. Must see!!

Very good food, unique setting

Well worth the visit! We were greeted promptly and in a welcoming manner. It was a Thursday evening, and it was a good thing we had reservations, as it was quite busy. The front/bar area was incredibly loud and bustling, but the back dining area was lovely. Service was friendly and efficient, and we thoroughly enjoyed the food. High marks for the salmon, stuffed mushrooms, and sticky toffee pudding!

Super Cool Bar

Seen this place on a film and thought it looked cool so decided to visit while in New York. It did not disappoint. Food and service was excellent and the decor is something else. Well worth a visit just to take a look. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in New York

So so experience in an interesting space

Great location and super interesting space. The menu had a lot of interesting options. I ordered the short rib, recommendation of the waiter. I was underwhelmed by my meal including the Brussels sprouts (over cooked).

Good food, cool atmosphere

Had a good meal here on a weekend getaway to NYC. My teenage son picked the restaurant. He has a good burger and potatoes. I had the streak tartare and it was very good. It was dark and a little loud at our bar table but we liked the ceiling and vault.

Hidden Gem

On the suggestion of a work colleague we stopped for lunch over last weekend during a short break in NYC. What a great call !! Having been warmly welcomed and shown to our table by Kimberley we were then welcomed again by our server and offered menus to mull over whilst quenching our thirst on a couple of well earned cold beers. Refreshingly, the menu was not four pages long but concise and tempting. We opted for the Trinity Wagyu Burger with Home Fries and within a very short space of time they were served. The plate was full but not overloaded and beautifully presented. Our server, who we now know is Brian (with an 'i') was attentive but not intrusive. My husband and I were delighted with the meal - it was truly delicious - the burger was very moreish and the home fries were particularly tasty. We followed the meal with the brownie and ice-cream - leave room for this ... you might think you don't want dessert - but believe me - you do!! The decor is fab. The vault door you pass through before entering the bar which stretches some way back is really unique. The bar is subtly light with dark wood fixtures and a well stocked bar. Unlike a lot of places, music is played low enough to enjoy conversation at your table but still audible when just taking a moment to catch your breath and appreciate your surroundings without having to speak to your companion. Thanks to those who made our lunch experience such a delight - you know who you are .... To find the Bar, walk along Broadway until you reach Nr 140 - stand with your back to 140 Broadway (smoked glass building with huge red cube outside) cross the road and head down Cedar Street on the left hand side of the open green area to your right. Trinity Place is two-thirds down. If you can't find it - go back and start again - don't miss it a second time !!

Good dinner option downtown

Great food and drinks menu. Unique setting with the Vault doors and history. Good service. Liked the 2 demarcated sections of the bar and further seating on the restaurant.

Beware fraudulent charges!

Better to pay cash! I used a credit card and left a generous cash tip. Not good enough for them - they fraudulently applied another tip even when I wrote "cash tip" on the gratuity line.

Very good place for a few drinks on Wall st.

By Bernardo L |

Find the place through Atlas Obscura. Located very close to Wall St and with the appeal of the vault was a must. When you arrive you come across the door of the vault that is shocking. You come through the bar and then you get to the restaurant. The place is impeccable, very well placed and first class care. We ordered 2 cocktails that were 10 points. The theme was food, my father ordered a peppercorn (the most expensive dish on the menu) and the tenderloin was hard, the raw potatoes millets and the pepper sauce looked like the pepper forgot it. For my part, ricotta and gorgonzola ravioli, tastes great but only 2 units. Too miserable considering it's not cheap at all. Finally dessert was cheesecake to share, nothing special. Pretty dry, lacking sauce. In short I think the bar is worth more than the restaurant. The place is worth visiting.

A Great Restaurant That Also Doesn't Break The Bank!

We came across this gem of a restaurant accidently. Trinity Place is in Cedar Street by Zuccotti Park, between Broadway and Trinity Place. We had booked some tickets for the One World Observatory at the One World Trade Center and had some time to wait before our allotted entry time. We wanted somewhere to eat so we walked up from the World Trade Center site, past the FDNY 343 Memorial Wall in Liberty Street into Zuccotti Park. We didn’t really fancy the diners scattered about the area and then we passed this door to the Trinity Place, it really doesn’t look like much from the outside, we popped our head in and we were greeted with a giant bank vault door! We got a warm greeting, and then were led in through the giant bank vault door into the restaurant and shown to a table. The impressive huge bank vault door is in place because the restaurant has been 'built inside a turn of the century wall street Bank vault commissioned by none other than Andrew Carnegie, advertised as the worlds largest and strongest bank vault in the world in 1904'. We were here for lunch and sat in the first part of the restaurant by the bar, it wasn’t that busy that day due to it being in the holidays, but I would think it would normally be very busy from people that work in the immediate area, never mind the tourists. The restaurant goes further back (through another giant bank vault door) to another seating area which looked more like somewhere to eat in the evening. The Trinity Kobe Burger was excellent, and it went down a treat with the red wine, perfect for a lunch. So if you’re down that way for a visit to the superb 9/11 museum or the excellent One World Observatory and want to eat something before or after your visit, go and seek out this place for something to eat. We are looking forward to returning one day and trying out more of the menu.

Unique setting with exceptional food!

Trinity has been one of our top meals on multiple visits to NYC. The atmosphere is unique and beautiful with the restored bank vault doors and cozy lighting. The service is top notch from beginning to end. Drinks are excellent and well priced at $12 to $14. Highly recommend the Old Fashioned and the Seasonal Mule. Everything we ordered was great......Scallops, Salmon, Kobe burger, Tuna and Duck with Risotto. Had to try two desserts as well, both outstanding, the cheesecake and creme brulee. We normally like to keep trying new restaurants, but will definitely return here. Highly recommend a visit here for lunch or dinner.

Lovely Dinner Location

By Lenny M |

Great restaurant with a very American Bar feel. Good selection of food and drink and reasonably priced… there is a bar area to eat or a restaurant area… we were in the bar area and it had a really good vibe. Staff were all very helpful and made the visit more enjoyable.

Great food and service in a vintage atmosphere

By ak3250 |

If you love the antique look you will love this restaurant. It’s in a great location in the city. The food was very good, not excellent but the service was great. It was reasonably priced. Although I loved the decor and lighting, I couldn’t read the menu. They should get bigger candles.

Best meal in nyc

By Laice |

Can honestly say this was the best meal and service in New York!! The food was mouth watering and I would come back to New York just for that steak!

Mediocre service, okay food

By Fantasmaniac |

We heard this was a great place for food. The ambiance was fun, being in a vault, but it ends there. Overpriced food and lousy value. I had the brick chicken, soda, and warm chocolate cake. My bill came to $43 without the tip. The chicken was good, but it was the size of a small Cornish hen. The endive was bitter and I couldn’t rate it. The cake was good, but not $9 good. Service was deplorable from our designated waitress. She would walk by our table and ask if we were ok without even stopping. The hostess was the only thing that salvaged our evening, she should have got the tip.

Great spot for drinks and food

By James C |

I stopped here for dinner late on a Friday night by myself. The place was more skewed to a bar crowd at the time, but I did find a spot. The bartender, Sarah, was prompt and very friendly. Her dirty martini was excellent. I had the kobe burger which was cooked to a perfect medium. The decor is very neat with the bank vault doors and dark wood and lighting. I was considering visiting again but they're actually closed on weekends which was surprising - so be aware if you're hoping to check it out on a Saturday or Sunday.

Best burger ever...great local scene

By FowlerBuzz |

I was pleasantly surprised by this place. I wanted some take out and happened by this place that was packed...apparently with locals. They did a great job on my takeout...the Kobe Burgers...you have to have it! While I waited I had a great beer at the bar and enjoyed the atmosphere.

Unsung hero perhaps

I and my wife had a seriously good meal. We came to New York to see an exhibition at the Neue Galeria. I needed to find a hotel. I found a great deal at the W on Albany street. Normally when traveling for pleasure I stay in the 40th to 59th street area or across the Hudson near the meadowlands. In those areas I can find some economical places to eat (or at least for NYC... and no I don’t do Crapplebees or their ilk in NYC. Too much good food here.). Normally when I am dining in the financial district I am on an expense account. But I needed to find something interesting and not a steak house. Trinity had an attractive menu and some good reviews. It was a Saturday night. I made reservations through OpenTable. But the restaurant was pretty quiet. Eight or nine parties. It is after all a weekend in the financial district. ( I guess it has a neighborhood name now. FiDi? It’s New York . ) Service gets a 4.5 star. No complaints perhaps other than my oysters and salad came out before I was half way through my excellent Manhattan and my wife’s old fashioned were consumed. I had planned on a glass of white wine or Prosecco to go with oysters. Carry on McDuff. The mignonette sauce had a little twist as I think it had some nice aged balsamic vinegar in it and worked well enough with the not too sweet Manhattan. The mixed greens salad was likely a bagged mix of mesclun greens but they were fresh and not super chilled . Big plus. The serving was large enough to split between the two of us . Lightly dressed and eaten off the plates we spread with olive oil for the bread the salad was perfect. Oysters. All east coast and perfectly shucked. Yum Entrees. That was one of the largest , meatiest, perfectly cooked lamb shanks I have had the pleasure of eating. The ragu and couscous accompaniment were perfect. The Moroccan spices were subtle but present and the entire dish worked very well. My wife enjoyed the duck confit and risotto dish. The size was more to her liking. Tender duck leg and good risotto. She ate almost the whole thing. Must have been good. Good to very good wines priced reasonably by the glass. And the Manhattan was very well made. The restaurant is not Pub Food and it is not inexpensive but for NYC it’s a bargain . I didn’t taste any of it but the bar menu looks awesome. Not your usual bar food but if I worked in the area my TGIF routine would include eating through the menu

Great Venue ...but

By Iain M |

I try not to write negative reviews. It’s a great idea, and a really cool place for a restaurant ... in a disused bank vault. The two lady members of staff who were working that night, were both fantastic, friendly and helpful We saw the reviews on here, and as we were staying locally thought we’d give it a go. Good drinks, a menu that most should find something Had a meat and cheese board to start - no problem Mains ... not good ... Gordon Ramsey needed, not good. Still, you can’t win them all, maybe the chef doesn’t work Sunday evenings or was off ... something wasn’t right. Lots of people have had good food here, so our experience might have been a one off. I hope it was, because otherwise it’s a great place.

Excellent

Original restaurant, when you enter you pass through the doors of a safe. The food is very good, good value for money. Efficient and pleasant service.

Outstanding

Without a doubt the best meal we have had on our trip to the states. Not the cheapest but was worth every penny. We had a cocktail, Pate, steak, and sticky toffee pudding for dessert. The restaurant was busy but service still excellent. Topped off a great trip.

King Midas would have loved it!

By Jack L |

Having walked our feet off and exhausted our senses with the sights and sounds of NYC, we stumbled upon Trinity Place. Americans in Europe can usually be identified by their loud talking....well, here in their natural habitat, the bar area was deafening! It might as well have been a disco! Had we been able to close the 35 ton vault doors, the dining area would have been much quieter! (See photo) Actually the vault is rather cool—especially as the building was built around it! It’s worth the price of a drink....earplugs are extra😉. Dinner was fab—I had the duck with risotto and my wife (a vegetarian) had the Gorgonzola and ricotta cheese ravioli. Both were well worth the price. The service was friendly and efficient. Tables started disappearing about 7 pm (on a Thursday night). They offer a wide selection of beers and an acceptable list of wines. The fuller the restaurant became, the warmer it was...hardly surprising I suppose considering it had been a vault, but a little fresh air wouldn’t have gone amiss. The rating of ‘4’ reflects the lack of ventilation and the bar noise, but certainly we’d go back.

IT'S IN A VAULT!!!!

If you love hidden places and avoid the tourist traps, THIS IS IT!!! The restaurant & bar are inside a turn of the century wall street Bank vault. Must Go

Good ambience

We turned up at 8PM and got a table without booking. The place was very busy. The food was good, but we had to wait some time before getting our drinks. The good thing about this place is the interior architecture, rather than the food!

Wagyu Burger 😋👍

By LeeTalker |

Went here with a group from work and a few of us had the Wagyu Burger. Mine was awesome (Medium Rare) but one of mu friends burger was overdone. Salmon looked very nice. Restaurant was full and buzzing and very loud, plenty of atmos!! Service was very good…very cool restaurant (converted bank with all the original vaults etc).
