Not what expected

By RENE H |

My wife and I go out to dinner every Friday & Saturday nights to different restaurants. Two Chefs was recommended and we decided to go last Saturday 9/14. Had 7:15 reservations and arrived at 7:05 we were seated and after 5 minutes water was served. The hostess and other servers walked by our table several times but no one came to ask for drinks nor anything else. 23 minutes later I had enough of this lack of service and got up and left. We've dined and many restaurants here and abroad and have never experienced such "disrespect and unprofessional service.

Such a pity. Not very good.

By Susan L |

Nice atmosphere. When we walked in I was hoping for another fine dining option.... Afraid that didn't happen. The tuna tarter and beef carpaccio were bland and the worse I've had anywhere. However.... The grand mariner soufflé was outstanding! Maybe the pastry chef should be doing all the cooking! I'm so disappointed. I have found that when I try the four star reviews from trip advisor members that it can be a hit or miss.... This was definitely a miss. I think I'll try t stay in the 4.5 reviews. I will give this restaurant a second try if only just for the soufflé! Yes. It was THAT good!

Outstanding restaurant in South Miami

By Marlene S |

Out for dinner with friends. Outstanding service, fresh food and ambience. The best soufflé in town. We look forward to one of their cooking classes. It continues to be one of the best restaurants in South Miami.

A must visit!

By M-Seales |

I have visited Two Chef's twice now, the food is great, and be sure to take advantage of the Miami Heat specials! On my visit four of us shared Appetizers and had dinner. The Ahi Tuna was Amazing, very fresh with a creamy touch. I had the Salmon and it was gone in 60 seconds, no pun intended. I will note the menu does change weekly so visit often!... Finally the Soufflé is amazing, I recommend the chocolate. On a Friday evening be sure to reserve early and say hello to Franz!

A culinary delight!

By Mingercat8 |

This restaurant is awesome! It is also a cooking school and the plates they come up with are delicious. The souffles are to die for!

Great local restaurant!

By Cliffkol |

This is a very popular "high-end" restaurant in South Miami. Four of us went there for dinner during "Miami Spice" month. This restaurant has the best deal for Miami Spice since they put the entire menu on sale. We ordered braised short ribs, salmon, roast pork loin and roast chicken. The salmon was served rare, undercooked, even though that was not requested, the short ribs were tasty but tough and the other two dishes were enjoyed. Three of us ordered Lobster Bisque for appetizer and it was more like a fish flavored creamed onion soup than a bisque. It certainly did not taste like lobster bisque, which usually also has pieces of lobster in it. This did not, it was a clear soup. The chocolate souffles were delicious, but the one person who ordered the Grand Marnier souffle was not happy. It had very little taste of Grand Marnier and was bland. Service was adequate. Our waiter was somewhat abrupt and not forthcoming to offer advice or assistance. Overall, I suspect if you are frequent visitor to this restaurant you get treated well and you know what to order. Otherwise. . . Caveat Emptor.

Good service

By SBarahona |

Food was very good. Waiter forgot to place one item in our order. When we complained he brought immediately the missing item (appetiser) and did not reheated the main course but made a fresh new dish!!! Can verify this, because the main course sat at our table all the time until the new one came (after we have finished eating our missing appetiser).

Very good Branzino

Good food, kind service, slooow kitchen

By Anders G |

Just had lunch at the Two Chefs restaurant in Coral Gables Miami, in South Dixie Highway. The best: full bar including wine list and the food, on the negative side very slow kitchen, dark dining room, and I would say a little expensive. If not in a hurry, a good place to have lunch.

Soufflé is top notch. My wife and I went...

By aruiz003 |

Soufflé is top notch. My wife and I went for Miami Spice and enjoyed our meals. The main course I had, a pork dish, was dry and bland. My wife's lobster bisque was mediocre at best. The grand marnier soufflé was phenomenal so that instantly made it a great night. I'm a sucker for it since it is my favorite dessert. The atmosphere could use an upgrade but overall definitely worth the visit and perhaps a repeat visit.

Always great

This restaurant is in an unassuming location in a strip mall close to Dadeland shopping center. My family and I have been going there for many years and have yet to have a bad experience. They have a menu that changes very two weeks so you don't get tired of going and eating the same thing every time. When I have business people to take to lunch this is my go to spot. They have never disappointed and I find that upon returning each .ask to go back to that great little restaurant even though they do not remember the name. Did I mention they have a great bar and although it is not the largest has a great variety of single malts and a great wine list. The bartender, Juan, has turned me on to some great wines. He makes some mean martinis too. You can thee the consistency in the wait staff and the kitchen because the owner , Jan, is always there making sure everything runs like clockwork. I hate meatloaf but here I actually recommend it and eat it as well. It is made from ground prime beef and the the sauce is great as is the rest of the menu. Why drive to South Beach or Coral Gables when you are in the Daeland area this is the place to go.

excellent food and service... chocolate souffle is a must!

Very nice food and excellent service in a nondescript strip mall next to Toys R Us. Meatballs appetizer and pork loin were excellent.

Love Love Two Chef

By viviinmiami |

Great food, good ambiance and excellent service. Have dined at two chef's many times. Everything on the menu is delicious. My a favorite is the New York Strip (its a good portion). I usually eat half and save for the next day. I can’t get enough of it! Their soufflé are divine! Yum!! If you’re in Miami and want to try a laid back yet place with excellent food and service this is your place! I also tried their cooking class. Lots of fun and more deliciousness!

Great Experience Durign Miami Spice Week

By WorldTravel2016 |

My wife and I went here for Miami Spice Week. The atmosphere, menu and staff were good. The souffle desserts add a unique and tastey touch. The food choices were broad and the quality delivered was very good. We will definitely be going back regularly to this restaurant.

Tasteful and Elegant

By Barbara M |

Delicious food was served with a delightful presentation. The waiter was very attentive providing wonderful service. This restaurant is known for excellent cooking, and every one in our party of eight enjoyed their selections. The dining is elegant and delicious with a variety of tempting choices on the menu.

Hidden gem

By songbird76034 |

I have been to Two Chefs twice, once by myself and the second time with my husband. It is located by my dogs veterinarian and I originally thought is was catering and a cooking school. I was very pleasantly surprised to find a lovely reserved restaurant with incredible food and excellent service. It is a bit pricey but we will definitely be back.

Mixed feelings

By marietta48 |

Arrived at 7pm for dinner, seated right away. Service was slow even though restaurant not full. I had yellowtail which was a very small portion and highly overpriced at $34.00. The yellowtail was cooked well, the skin perfectly crusty with the meat being very moist but for the price it was nothing spectacular, it was something I would expect to find at a chain restaurant. My husband had NY Strip which was cooked to perfection with the most awesome potato croquettes (they were to die for). I don't like red meat, I tried the steak and it was out of this world. The ambiance is very romantic and THANK YOU TWO CHEFS for not having TV's in the room or loud music! We had the pistachio soufflé which was AWESOME! So some was good, some was bad, not sure we will be going again, expected so much more from a chef restaurant.

'' Two Chefs are Better then One"

By Pablo L |

Anyone that can make a Grand Marnier Soufflé is a great chef in my book. Now add to that equation quality ingredients, professional service and Full Bar. Nothing better for miles.

It's ok. Nothing special.

By naturesownstudio |

The service was good but the food was only average. Not worth the price charged for the meals. Will not go to again.

shrimp pasta and chocolate soufflé

By Kim A |

the shrimp pasta and chocolate soufflé are great. I was here for a few presentations and had great food each time. definitely left with a full belly. would go back.

Menu, wonderful selection

By Sparkmar |

Loved the Miami Spice choices which included meats fish and chicken. The food was hot and attractively served

A true gastronomic experience!!

By Sosa_B_Eduardo |

What a Restaurant !! I am talking about its food. Totally unassuming on the outside, this is a truly well guarded secret. Everything was carefully prepared and every dish was fantastic, including their unique french fries. Its taste texture and the way they were presented made this ordinary side order into something truly extraordinary. Our party had Shrimp Pasta. The name does not honor such a delightful dish. Others had hamburguer, New York Strip Steak, Tuna Steak, everything had a quality and twist that made the ordinary extraordinary. To finish, the Chocolate Souffle was the best I have ever tried. I am thankful to the friends and clients that showed me this place.

Worse food, for the price

By Charles1234534438 |

we made reservation and were seated at worst table, by the kitchen where all the waiters go to and fro. The lobster bisque was tasteless and what we thought was a big crouton, turned out to be a deep fried pot sticker filled with some ugly cheese. I 've had better pot stickers from BJ's. No lobster in the "bisque". The crab cake was the worst i've ever tried, it tasted salty and of goat cheeese and it seemed deep fried, how can you screw up a crab cake? Tre grilled deafood salad consisted of 2 scallops, 3 samll shrimp and half a minute lobster tail, for the money it was not worth it. the dippins sauces were terrible. The chocolate shouffle was also tasteless. Save your money, don't go there

OUR FAMILY FAVORITE FOR YEARS

By OffToHike |

Our family has been going to Two Chefs for years, and I realized that I always write reviews for places I've traveled to, but this is literally our favorite! So here's a review for a hometown classic. Two Chef's is tucked away in a smaller strip mall, so you might not catch it first...but don't be fooled. Nestled away is a hidden gem of a restaurant! Our family has come here for as long as I can remember to enjoy the wide range of incredible food. They have a brick oven for pizza lovers, but they also dive into the most perfect sophisticated food as well. The chicken chop with risotto is hands down the favorite of several members of my family! The starters include such favorites as Caesar salad with fine anchovies should you want them, and the perfect french onion soup! The escargot with mushrooms is divine. The strip steak is also perfection. We have been the grateful recipients of Juan A.'s excellent care, and he never fails to remember that I love chocolate souffle with extra chocolate sauce and vanilla ice cream on the side (No. I don't share.) Our family even has our New Years celebrations there. It should be noted that my Mother has some physical limitations that can be a bit difficult at times for her. Juan and the extremely kind people at Teo Chefs always make sure she is carefully cared for. They make sure her every need is met, and it is heartwarming to know that they care on a personal level about their customers. So, make sure you get to Two Chef's in Miami...and order extra chocolate sauce and a scoop of vanilla ice cream...you won't regret it! :D

Upscale mediocre

By greggspiel |

I visited the restaurant for dinner. It is clean and cozy. The food is truly bland and mediocre. I regretted not driving another mile to Whole Foods and getting something there. I live in the area and will visit Two Chefs again only if I forget tonight's meal.

Franz is the best.

By IPSAdvisor |

If you are lucky enough to sit at a table witg Franz as your waiter you will havean added benefit to an already excellent meal. Meat loaf is always good.

Very good food with great souffle for desert

By Jason Z |

This restaurant has been around for a long time. It has a cooking school associated with it. Had dinner on Miami Spice (tasting). Entire menu was on Miami Spice. Food was very good. I had crab cake for appetizer , sea food bouillabaisse for entre and chocolate souffle for dessert which was excellent. The service was excellent. The restaurant was a little noisy, seating was very good and comfortable.

Never disappointed

By luvadish |

We eat here occasionally and have never been disappointed. On our last visit, I had a caesar salad and the clam stew. My companions had the salmon and short ribs. Everyone was extremely happy with out choices. As they chose the Miami Spice (which included the entire menu) their orders included desert. If there was a competition between the souffle and the apple strudel, the souffle won. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and will go back. Be sure and make a reservation as they are crowded on the weekends.

A Gem in Kendall/South Miami

By Robert_MIA_BKK |

We try to dine here once a month. This was a special occasion, and we took advantage of the Miami Spice (Google it!) regional restaurant promotion ($40 a dinner). I had the salmon, my wife the shrimp. The salmon was among the best I have tasted, no sauces, just a bit of spices to compliment the natural flavors. The tuna appetizer was excellent. So what made this a special occasion? A splurge(for us) on a $70 bottle of Argentinian merlot. Easy to park at this very atypical "small shopping complex" just off Dixie Highway in South Miami. The wood burning oven in the back provides great atmosphere.

Miami Spice at Two Chefs

By Lina C |

The Miami Spice menu here is one of the most extensive, offering many choices ~ unusual for Miami Spice participating restaurants. It is a good idea to ask the server, chef (who often wanders around the restaurant), or host(ess) about "what is good" when you go. They are very helpful. One of us who ordered the pork found it dry. And, if you are not certain what you are asking for or assume you will be getting something "as usual", ask. They do serve some dishes with an "unusual" presentation style and not the ordinary.

A great learning experience

By David S |

Our group of ten went to Two Chefs to be instructed on preparing our own group meal. We were served well and promptly with the drinks of our choice. This involvement in our meal led to a great dining experience.

High quality for South Miami

By Normannn |

Great food and fun at the bar. Something different in South Miami that you would expect only in the Gables.

Terrible, overpriced and extremely racist

By AnthonyC07 |

Worst service ever. Empty restaurant and it took them 30 minutes to seat my son and I. They served everyone that arrived after us, then left us for last. The reason behind that was the fact that my son and I were dressed casual and didn't look wealthy. The prices were insane. Never again I go .

Blown Away

By sweetest12 |

Quite simply one of the best meals I have ever had. The steak was cooked to perfection, I had the melt-in-your-mouth twice backed potatoes along with an outstanding salad. I topped it off with their unsurpassed chocolate souffle, this meal could not have been better. The waiter was wonderfully attentive without ever hovering. In a party 8, each of us was equally pleased with the food, sharing bites of each entree and after some persuasion, some dessert. You MUST eat here!!

Excellent in every way!

By TravelLovers2 |

We have no words to describe how much we enjoyed this restaurant. The service was impecable. The food is exquisite. I still remember the taste of the cauliflower soup. This has been one of the best restaurants we have ever been to.

A great lunch experience

By RobS |

The onion soup was terrific. The service was great. The main course of shrimp pasta was also great. The atmosphere is classy and comfortable/

Wondeful food but be careful....

By turly |

The food was to die for but when we ordered dessert we asked for an apple cobbler with two forks and no coffee and we got coffee and two Ports. The waiter didn't understand English... Later I asked him for the apple cobbler which he brought. The bill included the coffee and port and my husband wouldn't let me complain about ; he paid for it. Be careful it was a $24.00 mistake and all because the waiter could understand English!!!

South Miami/Kendall Choice for Excellence

By Robert H |

We have been here many times since they opened many years ago. The staff always presents a professional service and a friendly welcome. My favorite? Of course the always offered meatloaf! Fish, whether cod or corvina, is always an excellent rotation. My spouse will always choose the shrimp dish, regardless of variation (guided by their multi-lesson cooking course). As noted previously, the chocolate mousse is a fine ending (even if you take it home for later). PS: The house red wine is a great choice.

Excellent

By pery411 |

Many of the "Miami Spice" restaurants put their worst foot orward with tired hackneyed dishes that reek of budget, i,e, who needs to go out for caprese salad - but Two Chefs offers its whole menu. We came here tonight for the first time and were very saitsfied with the food, the service, the quiet and the subdued decor. The only caveat is that the portions are huge - we will do some more sharing next time

Solid for Lunch

By DavilaDC |

This place could use less crispy bread, but that is my ONLY complaint. Any place that does a three course lunch for $26 is already a leg up. Beef Carpaccio Caesar Salad, shrimp with fettuccini and a chocolate soufflé. All of this with a bottle of excellent Albarino and we didn't even need dinner!

Excellent Souffle, delicious food

By Joseph A |

I brought my wife and 3 kids here on a Friday night for my son's birthday. It was busy but we were seated right away. The service was very attentive and courteous. The food was delicious and nicely prepared. The souffles were excellent and very timely, the kids absolutely love them. We had reservation and it avoided any waiting. This was not my first visit to this restaurant and it has been consistently good through the years.

Group Dinner

By evanses5 |

We had a farewell dinner for s friend, table of 11. Food was good and we all ordered off the menu. My Bronzino Fish was served in a wood plank and they substituted veggies for potato. They change their menu weekly. They have wonderful Chocolate soufflés too!

Always reluable

By Moniatis |

It never fails to please. Revisited after six months and was pleased to experience the same high standard. The pork, steak and meat loaf were excellent and the soufflé very delicious. We took our own wine and enjoyed it for a corking fee of $25.

Two Chefs Miami

By M G |

Not what it was suppossed to be, house wine $12.50, not even selected wine, waiter was dry and serious, dinner was greasy (steak and scallop dinner), went during Miami Spice and even though the waiter was aware of what we were ordering out of the Miami Spice menu, we received a bill for both the Miami Spice menu selection and the regular price!!! We got billed more than $100.00 extra, good thing we noticed!!! The waiter was not looking out for us!. Will not go back to that restaurant!

New customers bring new business, Make them feel welcome.

By Gary A |

This is a tough rating. I tried to reserve a table for 2 on Thursday night thru the Miami spice website. It did not work I was forced to call. OK no problem Ill call. I called requested a table for two for the reservation was quick and efficient. See if you actually talk to people and don't go on fake book or act like a twit on twitter things work out. SO we arrive early for our 630 reservation. They said sit anywhere the place was empty. We selected a quiet table in the corner, Oh can't have that one its reserved, So we selected another quiet table in the other corner oh can't have that one either its reserved. Then I thought wait didn't I make a reservation. So I went along with it and they sat us right near the entrance where there is a lot of in and out traffic. Ok it wasn't that bad. The first table we requested finally had some guest sitting at it. The second table never had anyone sitting at it. What am I chop liver or something. Little did they know I have 31000 readers on trip advisor and I would be posting today. I was disappointed by the initial service. On to the food. I can only say it was exceptional. I haven't had meatloaf Ince mama made it and believe me it wasn't so good then. This was awesome. that all I can say. Miami Spice menu was good but it had some hidden charges that we didn't expect. Now I'm not cheap but I like to know what I'm getting into. The drinks were over priced. I guess that because people think Pinecrest is a well to do community and they can get away with charging super high prices for cocktails. Believe me when I tell you its not worth the price to pay 12.00 for a basic Cuba libra. What are they thinking. The service was great and the desert was great. I had to give this place an average rating because of the overpriced drinks and the poor reception because we were not a regular there. Guess you have to be part of the people who think,,,well it doesn't matter. I will go back but for this visit I give them and average rating. See you soon hope my next visit is a little more welcome by your staff. I may not look important but believe me when I tell you...............

Friends outing

By Mary |

I had not visited this establishment in many years. Came back to try the Miami Spice menu. Everything we had was very good . However our server did not meet our expectations. From the beginning we ordered a white wine and he rushed to say they did not have it . Luckily we found it on the menu . The desserts are superb . Note you get charged extra on certain dishes for the spice menu. They do let you know before , and is also on the menu . It’s a bit loud. They close early .... service is not bad but definitely not the best . Hope your experience is better than ours.

nice place

By madiestan |

I have wanted to go here for a long time, as recommended by everyone in my neighbourhood in palmetto bay, it was pleasant b uit it did not woo me, which was disappointing as I expected to be

Did not meet expectations

By CK S |

Read reviews and expected a great dining experience. My review was based on finding a 3 inch fish bone in my seafood risoto. When I commented to the server he brushed it off. I expected him acknowledge and at least say he will let the chef know. It is common even at franchise restaurant to send the manager to speak with patron in a situation like that. The desert suoffle was great and so was the escargot. But don't think we will be back.

Family Dinner

By nibaldom2015 |

We have dined here on various occasions. This restaurant is a staple of this neighborhood. They are always friendly and the service is impeccable. The food is always consistent. My shrimp pasta dish was delicious as well as the chicken chop. When dining here you must have their soufflés, absolutely a great ending to a fabulous dining experience. This restaurant is a must if you live in Miami. Enjoy.

Perfect in every way!

By mwooduk |

I came here last night with two friends to celebrate my upcoming birthday. I had wanted to come here for years and never been. Easy parking, lovely, dark cozy, atmosphere, and excellent service was provided by Miguel. The wines do have a hefty markup, but we were very happy with our California Chardonnay. They have an ongoing three course menu dinner special for $48 for three courses, which is an incredible bargain. Every course was superb, served nice and hot, no need for salt or pepper, so perfectly seasoned, and the soufflés for dessert were over-the-top outstanding. Cannot recommend it highly enough!

Should do better

By ChefRamses |

I’ve been meaning to try this place for a while. Went on. Sat. It was lively but not overtly crowded. Still we waited a good hour before the main course arrived. Fortunately had an appetizer but even then 45 minutes between courses. Prices are not exactly low for a place in a strip mall. At $35 and up for most dishes the service should be crisp and on point. Someone, either the wait staff or kitchen, did not bring their A game that night. Not sure I’ll be back again.

Great food, nice atmosphere

By Deb C |

My husband and I eat here almost every year for our anniversary. The food is always wonderful and the service is great. I highly recommend Two Chefs if you want delicious food and a relaxing atmosphere.

Wonderful surprise

By Pineapples-a-Plenty |

The "chemistry" of the restaurant was not electric. We went for a business lunch, and most of the tables were empty. The service was very good and the menu was quite surprising - delightful, in fact! Their salmon salad was fantastic! Just surprised with the very limited number of patrons, but maybe we were there on an "off" day??

wonderful shrmp dish

By RobS |

Its a comfortable atmosphere. Our lunch started with a classic caesar salad. The main course was a wonderful shrmp dish with a tasty liquid tomato sauce. The dessert was a fantastic choclate souffle.Juan the waiter was excellent. He has worked there for many years.

Excellent Meal Experience

By AdrianWhitehead |

An Amazing Meal and service. We were a large group, a little rowdy and not organized but the service and culinary team were perfect, managing the process very well, ensuring all of us got what we ordered, cooked to perfection, kept the wine flowing and service at top levels. Thank you to the team - A great evening

A Fine Restaurant, and found in Kendall/South Miami

By Robert H |

10 minutes away, great parking. One of Miami's finest. Is there any reason we come here often. We took advantage of the Miami Spice propostion, at $40 per dinner. Enjoyed a $70 Argentinian Merlot with the salmon(me) and shrimp(wife). Both entrees were excellent, as always. The best came early on for me...the tuna ahi appetizer with hand-cut potato wafers. Service was excellent, but we missed Franz

A gem

By LANYCDavid |

What a delightful find. Went with family and everything was top notch. Service was attentive but not overbearing. Food - fresh fish all around - was very tasty. One of the best tuna steaks of all time. Dessert soufflés were outstanding. I had grand marnier. Others had pistachio and chocolate and raved. Wine by the glass was only OK. Bottles seemed decent, not great, especially as many were triple digit. I would bring my own next time. Not cheap. About $90 per.

Stopped by for a nice glass of wine

By Brion C |

We stopped by Two Chefs on Dixie Highway for a drink during a pouring rain storm after lunch. We sat at the bar at had a nice Sauvignon blanc and Cabernet. It kept raining so I had to have dessert - the choices were soufflé, soufflé and soufflé - so I had a chocolate soufflé served with chocolate sauce and creme anglais. It was absolutely wonderful. Will go back to try the other flavors too.

Excellent lunch

By Mark |

We choose to have lunch at a restaurant with mixed reviews on Trip Advisor. I was very pleased with the elegant feel of the restaurant when we entered. We were seated promptly, proved menus and drink orders taken. Our waiter was very professional and provided information regarding preparations when asked. My wife had the shrimp and fettuccine, tomato, Basil, Garlic while I ordered the Baked Meat Balls, tomato ragu’, blue cheese custard. Our salads were very good, a Garden Greens, blue cheese, green beans, lemon – Dijon Vinaigrette for my wife and a Hearts of Romaine, Caesar Dressing, parmesan, sourdough crouton for me. The only choices for dessert were soufflés. We had a ”Grand Marnier” Soufflé with orange marmalade along with a Blueberry & Tahitian Vanilla Soufflé. Both were exceptionally good. Sadly at this time in the meal we were bordering on stuffed. Throughout the meal our water glasses were refilled as needed and there was never a feel of being hurried or made to wait incessantly for the bill when we were finished. I most certainly would recommend Two Chefs as a location for a special lunch.

Thank you God!!

By linc82 |

Thank God for Two Chefs! Came across this place by accident and it was outstanding. As others have said, house wine was great, waiter was outstanding. We came right at dinner time and the place rapidly filled up (midweek nonetheless). We went during the Miami Spice event and I was so impressed that virtually the whole menu was part of the promotion...we saved almost $20 pp that way. The food was outstanding...waiter recommended the souffle, the hazelnut one was absolutely awesome. Would heartily recommend especiAlly for the price. lovely.

everything tastes like bbq. too expensive and food is not that great.

everything tastes like bbq. too expensive and food is not that great.

first disappointment

By pdnirc |

The food is always very good and I go there for years and never had complains. This time yes disappointment. First some mistake in order but it is ok. Second of all the souffle that is usually light and pleasant was very heavy almost like a butter cake instead of a souffle. Since It was a business lunch , I did not check the bill and paid without reviewing the bill. Surprise came when home. There were two menus and they charged it as individual items. I am mad because this is a good restaurant and I never have problems usually, but this time, it made me upset. I am sure that I will have the opportunity to go back and that tome I will be extra demanding. Mistake to be corrected, souffle to send back and checking the bill three times. I guess it was a bad day or they decided to make a killing that day. So if you go, and you can see my older reviews that were very good, make sure you are strict with them to have them to their right level.

Traditional at Miami

By Jose J |

Nice service Great Branzino with broussels spraws. The Salmon Tartar is really nice. Good wine list.

Excellent lunch

By mikedc0813 |

I came here on a weekday for lunch as part of a business meeting. The restaurant wasn't that busy as you might expect for this time of the day but nonetheless the service was great. Food also was quite tasty including the soufflé. Parking was not a problem - the restaurant is in a little strip mall. I would consider returning if in the area.

Great place

We have been dining at Two Chefs for over 10 years. The food is outstanding and the chocolate souffle is the best in town.

Date Night

By nibaldom2015 |

My wife and I decided to go out for dinner on Monday night. We have dined here on various occasions and this restaurant is a staple in Miami. We arrived and were seated promptly. Our waiter after awhile attended to us, he was friendly and the food overall was pretty good. I had a pork tenderloin and it was a little dry, but the tuna tartare was on point. The desserts(Soufflé) were delicious but ordered one to go and the wait was extremely long. Overall, the food was pretty good but spotty service. Enjoy

Worth the drive. Hidden local gem.

By Suzanne T |

Excellent food and surprisingly elegant setting hidden in a strip mall. We live very far from this place (an hour from our house) so we don't get here often but the food is excellent and frankly, the place is worth the drive . Consistently excellent food for over 15 years now. They have a wood oven so the flat breads are amazing. Every main dish we had was cooked perfectly including a perfectly rare tuna steak and a juicy pork chop. French fries are perfectly crispy as well, , though I would prefer a skinnier fry. Best of all, they make fabulous soufflés for dessert. Order both the grand mariner and the chocolate. Worth every single calorie!

Great service, nice venue

By Lauren S |

I recently attended a presentation at the restaurant. Food was great and there was tons to go around. Service was wonderful. Staff ensured we had a great time. There were 50+ of us, so the restaurant shut down just for us. Great experience!

Consistent high quality and elegant

By navigator2018 |

As Miami’s big franchise and corporate restaurants are taking over, it is so wonderful to see a business like Two Chefs staying successful for so many years. Chef Jorgenson has the perfect formula: quality, knowing what his long time customers want and not bowing to crazy trends. The branzino was wonderful and the soufflés are better than in Paris. Always perfect!

Pricey but wonderful food, very original, somewhat small premises, but it is worth it. Enjoy with friends who are really into food.

Miami Spice Menu

By JohnNMiami |

We went with a group of friends for a birthday dinner. The Mimi Spice menu was quite extensive, the reason we chose this spot. The food was verged, cooked as requested, and was indeed quite plentiful. Nice wine list, reasonably priced.

Great business dinner ❤️

By 107kellyl |

I was invited to a business gather, and could not be better, the place was small and super cozy, the service excellent, we where invited to cook our own meal and it was a super funny , the night was excellent , bartender did an awesome job. Overall the food was delicious, service is excellent. Thank you the 2chefs for a great business dinner.

Good menu variety!

By Andrea C |

We came for Miami Spice. The menu is extensive. The linguine with pork belly appetizer was fair. The crab cake app was better. The chicken with risotto was very tasty. The risotto had lots of fresh mushrooms. Dessert was a soufflé. Service was attentive. Will return.

Getting worse

By Cigar_travel2004 |

This place keeps getting worse. We had decided not to go back, but their soufflé still amazing. This time the Carpaccio was frozen, the Chicken was scorched but raw in the inside. However, the worse was the service. The waiter was arrogant and obviously bothered by our presence.

Cooking Class was fun, service was great

By Lexer75 |

We recently went to a party here and it was a cooking class. It was so much fun. We had full access to their kitchen and main kitchens. Even the coal fire oven. It was a lot of fun. All the employees were so professional and the whole experience was great. The food (cooked by us mostly) was great. I found out the guy helping me in the kitchen was the owner. What a nice guy. Will definitely go back.

Creative fare with a flair not always consistent

By Hartee H |

We have dined at Two Chefs for both lunch and dinner. While the food can be very good, the disappointment comes when they run out of items on their menu. This has happened several times. Also one time we ordered chocolate soufflé and the waiter forgot to put in the order. Also the service staff attitude can be inconsistent. Sometimes we are immediately greeted at the door and seated. Other times we have to wait. For the most part each time we have dined at Two Chefs the restaurant has not been busy, yet the service is slow. The same goes for the table service as there have been visits where we are parched waiting for a refill of our water and drinks. Overall I would say the food has been very good as the dishes are not exactly run of the mill. Two Chefs has been around a long time and if it was a new restaurant I would say it has potential. As a fixture in the neighborhood for some time now the owner chef should strive to maintain 5 stars so to speak.

Disappointing

By 4-having-fun |

3 of us went for dinner on Tuesday night at 7:45. The restaurant had 9 tables of patrons and 2 people at the bar. We were seated in the center of all the patrons then asked to be seated away from the central cluster of diners. Additional first impressions: the temperature in the restaurant was warm, it is very very dark and there is a paper placemat on top of the linen table cloth. We opted for only 1 Miami Spice meal and 2 entrées. Our waiter mentioned the half priced bottles of wine (Tuesday only) which was not clear from the wine list. This may have been an oversight on all three of us because we couldn't see the fine print on the menu without our spot light from our phones. They've adapted their regular menu to include most items for MS and some with additional charges to the $39 fixed MS price. The crab cake appetizer had a nice crunchy breading but the crab filling was stringy and mushy. The tarter sauce was very basic and placed on top of the cake. The large asparagus were very fresh but the ends were not cut off so the last inch or two was tough. The tuna was over seasoned and the hash mix did not pair at all. The bacon wrapped meatloaf was good and a large portion but the black bean BBQ sauce didn't have a hint of black beans. The mashed potatoes were very fresh but too much horseradish and was missing butter, cream, salt and pepper. The pork loin was mildly seasoned but very tender. The escargot bolognaise was a nice blend with large chunks of escargot but this was also mildly seasoned. The bitter sweet chocolate soufflé was very good; perfectly baked but the sauce was more sweet than bitter sweet for my taste. I'd go back for an after dinner drink and their soufflés.

Bridesmaid cooking class

What a great idea! Brilliant it was a great way to bond and have fun together. We cooked our meals together. We had pink specialty drinks that were out of this world. We were in our own private room decorated so beautifully the owners wife is a Interior Designer. The wedding will be in pink and so she decorated with pink flowers and crystals'. Always a great place to dine with just two or a great way to throw a amazing party with out the mess. Thank you guys for a great time!

On a steep decline

Arrived early and the hostess could not find reservation. The guy that took the reservation was in a hurry. Waitress bald gut got all the drinks wrong twice! Food was just average. After many year’s coming to this place; this will be my lat visit.

Great local 5 star restaurant

By gil c |

Always our go to place , whenever my wife and i are having a rough day at work and we want to go somewhere civilized , and never be disappointed in our meal the only place that comes to mind is TWO CHEFS . From Oscar in the kitchen to Juan at the bar to the owner Jan at the front door you will not be disappointed .

Unpleasantly surprised

By passportwilltravel |

We have been happily dining at Two Chefs for decades. Tonight was the first time we've had a notably sub-par meal, and it was quite disappointing. The rib-eye steak ordered mediuam rare came overcooked, and very tough with much too much char on the exterior. To his credit, the server offered to take it back, which my husband declined. Later, my husband commented that the steak he'd ordered last month at a Cracker Barrel was more properly prepared. This was also the first time that their signature dessert, chocolate souffle, came out with runny mousse in the center. This always reliable dish was definitely undercooked. So under cooked souffle and overcooked steak. And confusion as to who ordered what. This was DEFINITELY an off night in the kitchen, and causes us pause to return any time soon.

One of the best

I love this place. A restaurant that does it right. Creative, great food all classically prepared. Miami Spice or not, I am hooked.

Reliable.

Two chiefs has been around for a number of years now and you can always count on getting a great meal. The service is great and the restaurant is bright and very clean.

Neat Place

By Another Road Trip |

This was the place for a luncheon with some friends. The food was great and the atmosphere was too, very quiet and pleasant. Service was great, More could have been on the menu but the food on the menu was tasty.

A local favorite for a special night

By Inspire25349 |

My husband and I are "locals" and we just couldn't pass-up the chance to share what a hidden jewel Two Chefs is. We have never had a bad or sub-par meal, the sevice is friendly, fast, and elegant, and the food is always inspired and superb. Their famous soups are delicate, their entrees always fresh and interesting, and their famous souffles are always perfect. Though not usually thought of as "gourmet" fare, their meatloaf is absolutely amazing...a rich smokey flavor paired with perfect mashed potatoes. Don't be deterred by the location in a small shopping center - the interior is elegant and romantic. We'll always go back for more!

First impression

By sunnytravels2015 |

I recently visited Two Chefs for dinner with a group of friends. We ordered items offered under the Miami Spice menu. Overall food quality was good; presentation, taste and portions. However, service definitely needs improvement. Being my first visit to Two Chefs, place seemed busy, but even considering this factor, service was mediocre; seemed to lack organization and felt totally rushed and completely impersonal. Our sever, Juan seemed stressed, tight, courteous, but not friendly. To be fair, the order arrived to our table without any mistakes, but his service felt totally impersonal. There was a moment we felt that asking for water or to have a picture taken was very bothering! I am a true believer that a lot to do with your overall dining experience is the kind of service you receive, and the rapport your server establishes with your table the first moment he/she greets the patrons. I always wanted to visit this place, but after this experience I highly doubt I will give this place another try. I am easy going and do not consider myself a picky person when it comes to restaurant service; moreover, I do my best to accommodate mistakes and oversights that sometimes happen with servers, but a planned friends night out being ruined because of poor service is not fun at all! How is bad service for a first impression!

The best pizza in the world..well maybe..

By Roger B |

This restaurant is a real find and well worth hunting down when in South Miami. On a quiet Wednesday early evening we ate at the bar. My friend said he had just eaten "the best pizza in the world". Quite a claim, but they are extraordinarily good. Brie steak pizzas. Amazing. We then enjoyed some filet, artistically designed french fries and some mega croquets. The red and the white wine were great. I defintely need a return visit to sit down properly and work my way through the menu. On this performance Two Chefs are clearly better than one.

Excellent food as always - one issue

By mwooduk |

My friends brought me here last year for my birthday dinner and it was so good we decided to come back. Service was very good. The food was incredible as always, the Ahi tuna and crabcake appetizers were amazing. The mushroom flatbread was outstanding. The Bronzino and the shrimp pasta were both very tasty but the highlight of the meal was, as always, the soufflé. We ordered a pistachio, a chocolate, and a Grand Marnier, and split them between the three of us. At the end of the meal my friends kindly treated me to dinner for my birthday but expressed some surprise that the restaurant now charges $10 for paying with a credit card! That was a bit of a surprise and new since last time we came. We all thought it was a bit steep. On the bright side, you do not have to pay to park and there is plenty of parking. We will definitely return!

Great deal for Miami Spice

By Glee47 |

Came here with another couple for Miami Spice. This restaurant, in a strip mall, has a nice intimate atmosphere (it's kind of dark) once you walk inside. Our waiter was very good, serving us water and warm bread with olive oil and seasonings. The great thing for Miami Spice at Two Chefs is instead of just having a menu with a couple options for appetizer and entree to choose from, almost every item is available for Miami Spice, in full size portions. Some options (such as tuna and steak) have an upcharge, however. I got the crab cake for appetizer. It was ok. My husband really liked his beef carpaccio, with truffle oil and potato croquettes and our friend really enjoyed his meatballs with a gorganzola crust. For my entree I got the meatloaf, one of their signature dishes. It came with asparagus on the top, bacon on the bottom and a sauce. It was awesome. My husband was less crazy about his asopao- a seafood stew with rice. It had salmon in it, which he's not a fan of. My friend got the grilled salmon, which she loved and her husband got the beef stew with mashed potatoes. They both had ordered these dishes for dinner the week before, so I assume they liked them. For dessert, you have a choice of a chocolate or Grand Marnier souffle. Both were delicious. The pistachio souffle wasn't available for Miami Spice. We had leftovers to take home with these big portions. This is a great deal for Miami Spice, where some of the main courses are ordinarily $36, and for appetizer, entree and dessert on Miami Spice, it's $39.

Best Miami Spice menu

The dinner was great. Everything on the menu was on the Miami Spice menu.I had the fish and it was cooked perfectly. Everyone else had different items and all dinners were prepared perfectly. We will be back.

Still excellent!

My husband and I had our first dste here 12 yrs ago.,wegot married 11 years ago and we had our rehearsal dinner here, we have shared many dinner with friends and each other over the years here. We moved to South Carolina a few years ago. Tonight we came back to Miami and to this restaurant and the food and service are still excellent. We had a great time. I would highly recommend this restaurant the souffles are to die for!

Pasta or desserts are their best,

Pasta or desserts are their best,

Thoroughy enjoyable meal!

By cuse_41 |

Excellent food, causal elegance atmosphere, amicable wait staff. This is a great place to go if you want an excellent meal in an attractive but casual setting. The prices are reasonable and the portions ample. In our opinion the chicken ceasar salad and meatloaf are the best that we have had in all of Miami. Their soufflés are textbook perfect. It is comfort food kicked up a couple of notches. Their menu is on line. Reservations are available. You can not rush here so be prepared for a leisurely meal.

Didn't even have a chance

By Nivia M |

So it was my husband's birthday yesterday and I wanted to surprise him with a nice dinner. I made reservation at Two Chefs Miami and was super excited to go there. When my husband got home I told him where we were going I made reservation early during the day. I got a confirmation number via email with a very nice message that says "thank you for choosing Two Chefs. Should you plans change, please let us know. We look forward serving you" When we got there the doors were closed. They were not open. When I tried to email them back I got a message that says my email was not read and that they do not reply due to the overwhelming spam messages. Terrible customer service. Extremely disappointed and embarrassed with my husband and another couple who were with us.

Best Miami Spice Offering

By SharonHum |

Most Miami Spice participating restaurants offer 3 choices for appetizer & entree categories and 1 dessert selection. Two Chefs has gone above and beyond the concept of choice by making their entire menu eligible for Miami Sprice at the fixed price of $39. From tuna tartare appetizer to the classic Coq au Vin , Dynamite short ribs and risotto or Strip Steak au poive (small $4 sur charge) each dish satisfies even the most discerning palate. Don't miss this one!!! For wine lovers they even offer 50% off wine bottles on Tuesdays!

Consistently good meals

By Sakman73 |

Two Chefs is a great, local restaurant that consistently serves high quality meals, with great presentation and overall taste. The service on the last trip was below par, hopefully that's not a sign of things to come.

Hidden Jeweler in Pinecrest Nice for Family and Couples

Great bar. Excellent service. The flat bread is wonderful appetizer you can share. The tuna is very fresh and good. The soufflés are wonderful. They know they business!

Fine dinner menu

By ScannerGFlorida |

A friend and I dined here on a Friday night, taking advantage of the "Miami Spice" promotion, which offered a 3-course dinner from eligible menu items for $39. I enjoyed a nice shrimp cocktail to start, followed by the Atlantic salmon for the main course. And for dessert, the chocolate soufflé served with chocolate ganache. The fare was (almost) top-notch and imaginatively prepared, though with an extra charge for a serving of bread, plus a glass of Graff Riesling, and coffee with dessert, the bill was more like $55 for one person. Our service was fairly prompt and efficient, in a warm, elegant atmosphere. It just didn't quite make 5 stars for me, as value for money was not the best, and the location is in a forgettable strip mall.

Birthday Dinner

By celtic1916 |

Went for my birthday and was thoroughly pleased with the service and meal. Staff was very attentive and accommodating. Saw one of my fellow diners entree and was curious so waiter brought over small sample. Would definitely go back had chicken chop was some of the best I have eaten, ordered with special so receive 3 courses for $45 good value Was a nice dining experience very personal and well worth a special trip for an enjoyable evening.

Good Miami Spice lunch

By Moniatis |

Unlike most of the restaurants that offer Miami Spice, Two Chefs has offers everything on their lunch menu. For a couple of the items a premium of about $6 is added. A very good menu indeed. They also offer three soufflés which as always are wonderful.

Save room for the chocolate soufflé!

By Nancy C |

Wonderful meal served to perfection. This is the perfect place to try the Miami Spice deal, but save room for dessert as the desserts are worth it!

Two Chefs Miami Spice

By cahillphillips |

I have being to Two Chefs a few times but tonight I decided to try their Miami Spice Menu . Our waiter was very professional and attentive . The starter and main entree was very good along with their house Chardonnay. Unfortunately very disappointed with their Soufflé. It was Soufflé without the Grand Marriner I brought it to the attention of the receptionist Claudia who totally brushed me off . I got a tablespoon of Marmalade instead of . Marn-ier .It is not a substitute for Grand Mar-nier. Very disappointed especially eating this dessert in many French Restaurants.

Can't Say Enough Good Things About This Place!

By kathyl249 |

We recently visited Two Chefs early on a Friday night without a reservation. We were lucky enough to get in with no problem. Could have been because it was St. Paddy's Day and we were avoiding that type of experience. We hadn't been here in about 10 yrs (since we left Miami). We were pleasantly surprised to find it just as we remembered it. Gracious service, excellent food, comfortable atmosphere. It's nice to know that an old favorite is still a favorite. Highly recommend this restaurant. Try it, you'll like it!

New Year's Eve

By Holly G |

Wish I was made aware of jacked up prices when I made reservations. Was told to look online at the menu but it stated different prices. Food was good and service was ok. Had to request bread. Some rule of the house. Much too expensive for what you got.

Good Lunch

By Jose J |

Its traditional international cuisine, its calm. The waiter a little grunpy, but for me that is his problem. Food is really good. Go for the branzino, meatloaf and the chuck burguer

Excellent 3-course lunch for $26

By MT1075 |

Two Chefs has at times been one of the best restaurants in Miami--but has never been consistently 'excellent' when Chef Jan was not in the house. On the other hand, you can find him most weekdays at lunch where both the food and service are exceptional. But the varied dinner interpretations of the same or similar menu items (i.e. tuna tartar--at times served lumped with a side of potato crisps--and at other times served ON the crisps) can be confusing and disappointing. If you love an item and return a few nights later and its "different', that variety was on purpose. But you cannot beat the excellent ET (Eat TwoChefs) 3-course lunch for $26--souffle included (if you can resist the yummy add-ons$).

Dependably fine dinning

By byMT305 |

Two Chefs is a fine dinning "neighborhood" mainstay in the South Miami area. It's well-run, and always serves consistently very good food. The service is very good, and the interior is dark and quiet. Two Chefs is not trendy, and has a local following. For a recent business dinner, our party enjoyed: warm tasty bread, good Cesar salad, both meat and fish entrees (all very well prepared), and a souffle ("pumpkin" this time of year) for dessert. The food was very satisfying. The strip mall made for easy (and free) in & out parking. Mid-week, we could linger and chat at our table in a relaxing non-pressured way. A nice evening in suburbia.

Uninspiring location - great food

Apart from very dim lighting, we had a wonderful experience. The food was great, with a menu that changes weekly. The wine list very interesting and our waiter was very attentive.

Very Good

We were 3 couples....everything we ordered was served hot and cooked and seasoned well....service was very good...I just thought the menu was a bit overpriced.....
