Great on the run pizza

By Amber P |

The pizza is SO GOOD! I wouldn't recommend the restaurant for a sit down meal but for a quick bite and a take away slice this is perfect. A MUST visit when you go to New York YUM!

✅ Friendly staff ✅ Cozy place,

By Ana B |

✅ Friendly staff ✅ Cozy place, very authentic NY style place ✅ The pies were delicious, crispy but not burned, the cheese was tasty, even the dough was delicious ✅ Bathroom was clean ❌They didn't have Peroni

My Mistake --

By kennethfb |

-- We didn't get the pizza. Salad, Buffalo wings, pasta, all quite average. In fact, stay away from them. But, the pizza looked great. Next time. Friendly service, nice space, but not too large; go early.

Really nice

By Veillé M |

Really good restaurant!! Super pizza and waitress very nice. We got a really good time for our first meal in New York!!! :)

Delicous lunch!

By rogeraskins |

Stopped in after ice skating. The atmosphere is nice and there is out door seating. Pizza was delicious! We tried 3 different types and enjoyed them all.

Always busy but Worth the wait

By sandramc1907 |

This place was a recommendation and I am so glad we waited. The share pizza was near enough as big as our table and was enough for 3 of us. (we even left some as we were all full). It was very tasty too. They also do take-aways but didn't experience this so couldn't comment on that side of it. The staff were always run off their feet but friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The place is small and cosy.

Little gem

By Kim P |

Amazing little find. Good service, value for money and serves gluten free pasta and pizza. Just wish we had found it earlier would have had nicer meals and much better value than other places.

Holiday

By Mandy C |

Best Pizza ever!!! Stayed at the grand Hyatt so less than 5 minutes away from this fabulous restaurant we ate in one night and got take away another time, staff very friendly on our first visit it was busy all tables took but didn’t take long to acquire one even though it was small we ordered I asked if another table came free could we move staff were more than willing to do this I had the lasagne while my husband and son had pizza and other son had a chicken wrap I’ve never seen so much chicken in a wrap before!! Mine was the best lasagne I’ve had ever and husband ordered another pizza it was that good👍👍. Great pizza

By M5989UXbrianm |

Small restaurant but tucked away close to Grand Central station. Delicious pizza and salad. I had chipotle chicken pizza and my wife pepperoni.

Very Good Pizza and Service

By Dave |

We were headed back to Grand Central Terminal and looked on Trip Advisor for a good place to have a quick lunch. The pizza was good and the restaurant was comfortably warm on a cold winter day. The service was friendly with tables to sit down and a TV to watch.

Great Slice in The City

By TravelManOrlando |

Uncle Paul's is a great place to grab a slice and a quick place to get off your feet. The slices are generous, great crust, and it's obvious that the people working there have been there for years. Gives you the feel of real NY pizza and a little atmosphere to boot. Reasonably priced a quick.

Christmas night takeaway

By futurefreedom |

Absolutely fantastic pizza. Enjoyed every bit of it. So close to our hotel and not bad pricing. The only down fall is the wings were tasteless. But we will use you again

Try It

By Frank D |

If you are in or near Grand Central, for good New York style pizza, skip the Food Court in the lower level and head to Uncle Paul’s. Nothing fancy here, just delicious pizza in a small, no frills space.

Best. Pizza. Ever.

By Carrielynnwho |

Have the lasagna pizza. Don't ask questions, don't make the mistake we made by ordering a half and half pizza. Just do it. You won't regret it.

What a fantastic pizza restaurant

By Daijones1967 |

Just an amazing little restaurant food is superb and the staff are great If you want authentic Italian pasta and pizza you must visit Uncle Paul’s

Delicious, consistent, clean and friendly pizza spot in Midtown by Grand Central

By Heather W |

What can I say other than we ate here three times in four days. The first night it saved us by providing dinner after a disastrous travel day. So many slice options and delicious fresh salads. The second day we went back for dinner because we waited way too long to eat and then had no interest in the fancy dinner we planned for. This night we discovered the chocolate cake. The next day my daughter had a left over slice for breakfast, but we ate a delightful dinner in Chinatown. After the pride parade on Sunday, we went back to grab a quick bite before our flight. Yes, there are tons of great restaurants in NYC, and we did enjoy fresh fruit in the parks. However, Selka and her crew were always so welcoming that it felt like checking in with friends each day. So yeah, we pretty much grocery shopped at Uncle Paul's. And I have zero regrets. Also, did I mention it's very reasonably priced? Tip the staff!

Great restaurant, even better pizza!

By mister_mark79 |

Popped in for pizza on our last night in nyc. Food was superb but more importantly, the service was the best. Attentive and courteous. For a pizza bar in the middle of nyc we couldn’t have asked for more. When can we go back to New York to re-visit?

Very tasty, a little pricey compared to others

By Sophie C |

Great tasting pizza. But was a little over priced for me. Visiting on a budget we was told this place is great for cheap eats. Which initially it is. Just a little pricey for what you get. But you cant go wrong with the food itself. Very busy, people constantly in & out.

Amazing! Will return.

By RicciF1020 |

Pizzas are large and delicious and affordable. The caprese was to die for and the white pizza was also delicious. Hoping to return for more caprese before we leave town.

Lunch

By Night_Bridge1 |

Popped in for a few slices of pizza before leaving NYC. It was very busy when we arrived and we waited for about 10 minutes before getting a table. Staff where very polite and welcoming. Once we got a table we ordered some delicious pizza. Good selection of pizzas and other dishes available as well as drinks. Worth a visit.

Hands Down the Best Pizza

By mormonmom |

This place may be tiny but it is bursting with incredible flavors. There are few tables but it is possible to buy pizza by the slice and other items for takeout. The pizza crust was one of the best I have ever had and I have craved more of Uncle Paul's since returning to Texas from NYC. We will definitely be returning on our next trip!

We went back a few times!

By twns4me |

This restaurant is an underrated jewel in this neighborhood. After eating at a 'famous' Italian restaurant that had a line around the block waiting to get in, we went the next night, to this quiet, cozy restaurant, for a awesome authentic Italian meal. It is small and unpretentious. The service is friendly and fast. The food is fantastic. The kids loved it so much we went back a second time. The pepperoni and caprese pizzas were excellent. The bolognese, carbonara and alfredo were fantastic. The bruschetta was good.

pizza and beer.....

By lastminutebobyork |

The pizzas were absolutely AMAZING! This is the way pizza should be made in NYC. Very affordable at New York prices, great staff, and incredible food!. Go to Uncle Paul's on you next stop for a slice!!!

Excellent service, excellent food

By Manuel L |

The food was very good, and the service was even better. The waitress that took our order (Norah) was very gentle! Super convenient for people that are use to dine around 9 or 10, because it closes late. Highly recommended! Greetings from Argentina!

Great New York Pizza

By Robert C |

Stayed at the Roosevelt Hotel and wanted some pizza and was told to go around the side of the hotel to Uncle Paul's Pizza and so glad we did. It was awesome and what I was use to having been born in New York. I had the Grandpa's Sicilian pizza and loved it. Others had the the Margaretha, Grandma's pizza and all was great. It all starts with the sauce and they got that down pat. Will b e back for sure.

Great pizza

By carolinejane19 |

Had great pizza here, lots of choices to keep everyone happy. The toppings were all fresh and the pizza bases were just the way I like them.

Going going gone down hill

By Don K |

This place has gone to absolute poo. The food quality has slipped. They have resulted to giving free slices because the food has gotten so bad. It seems like they cut back on toppings and flavor and sauce and good food due to Covid and not bothered bringing it back. Never go here again sorry...

New York pizza!

By Jim S |

First night in the city and we wanted to grab some pizza. This place doesn’t seem like much from the outside but the pizza was delicious. The crust was awesome and the toppings were great. Calamari was a little different compared to what I’m used to but still good. Definitely worth stopping by and grabbing a slice.

Just great Pizza

By woody_clare |

We visited for a take out. The selection of pizza was good and the ones we chose we really tasty. The restaurant was busy with locals, which is always a good sign too. Would definitely visit again.

Best Pizza slices in town

By Rosemarie M |

Myself and my partner were staying around the corner from Uncle Pauls. What delicious pizza slices we had twice. Very quick service and all the staff were very friendly. I had the tastiest pizza slice and can still remember who it tasted. It was a lasagna on a pizza. A must for anyone staying near Grand Central Station

Very good food

By Inna G |

we requested a delivery, the service was quick and food was tasty. Alittle expensive but not disappointing

Really good pizzas near Grand Central

By James - United Kingdom - Kent |

Recommended by a friend who works in New York. Very near Grand Central Station. It is not a swanky restaurant and has a relaxed feeling to it, no need to dress up. The waitress was great and super friendly. We had mozzarella and tomatoes for a starter between us and then a large pepperoni pizza. Both really tasty and fresh. Draft beer on tap and wine available. Very reasonably prized and you know is good pies when people kept coming in for a slice or two. We could not finish the pizza and took a few slices back to hotel. Well worth a visit.

Great late night pizza! Great food, great service!!

By bpainter1978 |

Stopped in late for pizza and a beer. Will definitely be back. Great spot in midtown to eat. Service was great, good selection of pizza and beer.

30 minute wait, but good slices

By Phillip L |

It was a crazy busy day in midtown, with 1,000s of people shopping in the sales and visiting Rockefeller Centre. So we did have to wait 30 minutes for a table, but then the pizza slices and pasta was very quick. Tasty slices, a decent toilet, ready to get back to the shops!

pizza and pasta

By mrandmrs999 |

we visited hete twice, tried the pizza and the pasta, really good quality and value!! highly rated! red wine good too!

The best family restaurant.

By 2277F |

The best family restaurant. Best service, wonderful eats and a variety on the menu. Their wings, pear salad, and white pizza were amazing! Nora was our server and gave us the history of the restaurant. Lovely dinner

What a gem

By WorldTraveller1984 |

I was staying at the hotel around the corner and ended up visiting just about every night. Reasonable prices (around $2.75 for a cheese pizza slice) and ope until very late which is handy when arriving back after a long day.

Best gluten free pizza

By K N |

This is by far the best gluten free pizza I've ever had! The place is clean and cute and the staff was friendly and helpful.

Tasty Pizza

By Patty P |

Wanted to grab some pizza after leaving Grand Central Station. We found Uncle Paul's. The pizza was very good and the service was excellent. Lasagna slice was delicious. We did go on a Sunday afternoon so it wasn't very crowded.

A wonderful dining experience, in a fantastic environment.

By Sebastian |

Excellent food, excellent ambience and excellent staff. First time visit to this wonderful establishment and certainly won't be the last...fantastic!!

Awesome people and food

By David B |

My wife and i were running late. They stayed open for us and when we ate the pizza WOW. Great people great pizza

Premium price for average pizza

By MorrisChronicler |

Uncle Paul's is a lunchtime institution know in the midtown east/Grand Central Station area of Manhattan. However their prices are ridiculous for pizza that is average in quality and portion size at best. Two plain slices will cost you over $8 - add toppings and you are north of $10. For pizza, no matter how good it is, that's ridiculous.

New York Pizza Joint

By Pete Waggott |

If you want a delicious pizza in a busy NYC pizza restaurant then look no further than Uncle Paul's on Vanderbilt. Friendly efficient staff, delicious fresh cooked pizza with your choice of toppings, American football on the telly, lots of locals in there which is always a good sign. Noisy, hot, crowded but you will leave with a full stomach and a fun experience. Very reasonably priced too.

Best pizza ever

By bzzznitchsocal |

The best pizza we've ever had. Nice little place. Great location. Friendly staff. Can't wait to go back on our next trip to New York

Great

By 20JMJ17 |

We had slices of cheese and margherita ordered to go. Both were really good - I would definitely go back. Service was fast and very friendly.

Clean, Great Food and Service

By Mike W |

We found this place by accident, but what a terrific experience. Nora was funny, pleasant and always smiling. It's always a pleasure to meet people who enjoy their work. The lasagna pizza was fantastic. A true highlight of our visit to New York.

Really Good

By JandDatOCD |

On a four day visit to New York we called into Uncle Paul’s for some pizza. The service was really good and the young lady serving us was really friendly. The pizza was really good but be careful the large is really large. We left two slices but took them in a box for later. We would recommend for a NYC pizza experience.

Enjoyable

By Rowenal |

Lovely cosy little restaurant serving excellent pizza and pasta dishes. Popular with locals which is always a good sign. Staff friendly, helpful and efficient. Will return.

Not great pizza.

By Hans S |

Bought a slice of pizza and did not finish it. That is not good - I always eat up my pizza. My take on this on - meh. No.

For pizzas yes, the rest to avoid

By Travel K |

We were a group of 10. The restaurant is not very warm, but it is clean. The pizzas were served quickly and were good, nothing wrong with that side. On the other hand, the pasta dishes took 45 minutes to arrive, and it was only after two reminders to the staff that we were finally served. Another negative was that it was cold in the room, with the restaurant door permanently open. If you’re looking for a good slice of pizza to go, it might be worth a visit. For the rest, it's better to go his way.

Very good very nice price correct

By Jocelyn D |

Everything is in the title, do not rely on the modest front, frankly excellent and reasonable rates. Careful behind a face that can look harsh. Don't hesitate!

uncle Paul should run a used car dealership, not a pizza place.

By Mike R |

Home to the WORST attitude in New York City! If you go back two days in a row, bring more money the second time because they will up charge you and than argue with you that you did not pay a different price yesterday. Surprised they are in business with all the other pizza places near them that value customers and provide a higher quality of food.

Great Pizza

By Harry |

We had this pizza on the last day of our trip and it certainly didn't disappoint, after our concierge recommended it to us. We had the lasagne pizza - highly recommended, mainly because it's massive and tastes great! Service was okay.

Great!

By leelee |

The pizzas are delicious! Recommended for a quick bite to eat if you are nearby. The employees are friendly and welcoming. The seating area is adequate too.

The pizza was great and the waitress was right about the beer

By stimpsonjcat67 |

I expected good pizza in New York, and this is a prime example of quality thin crust pizza. The wife had pasta while the daughter and I shared a pie. Both were proclaimed above average. The server suggested a local brew (6.5 IIRC) and it was lovely with the pie.

Stopped in for a quick bite

By Zman1972 |

Stopped in for a quick bite for lunch. They get pretty busy around lunch time and there inside is a little small. There is a good selection of specialty slices and entrees. I decided to so with the standard plain slice and a grandma. The guy working the oven were very pleasant and they were joking with each other and it added to the character of the place. The pizza was very good and the prices are reasonable for Manhattan.

Family, Flavor, and Phenomenal Service at Uncle Paul's Pizza

By Danijela M |

We recently visited **Uncle Paul's Pizza**, and the experience was outstanding from start to finish. As soon as we walked in, the friendly atmosphere welcomed us into what promised to be a delightful family lunch. The pizzas were the centerpiece of our meal, and each one was a hit. We tried the classic Margherita, which had the perfect balance of tomato, basil, and mozzarella—simple yet delicious. The meat lover's pizza was generously topped with various meats, each bite bursting with flavor, and the veggie pizza was equally impressive, loaded with fresh, crisp vegetables on a perfectly baked crust. Every pizza boasted a wonderfully crispy yet chewy crust that only added to the overall enjoyment. However, it wasn't just the food that made our visit special; it was also the exceptional service. Managing a meal out with three young kids can be a bit of a circus, but the staff at Uncle Paul's Pizza were nothing short of heroic. A squabble broke out among the kids over a fruit bowl, quickly escalating as one of my sons began to cry over sharing with his cousin. Without missing a beat, a kind server approached our table with an additional fruit bowl, free of charge, and soothingly helped calm the situation. This thoughtful gesture not only helped ease the tension but also allowed us to enjoy the rest of our meal in peace. Uncle Paul's Pizza not only serves up some of the best pizzas but also excels in their customer service, making everyone feel like part of the family. Whether you're coming in with a group, large or small, or just popping in for a quick bite, Uncle Paul's is the place to go for a great meal and even greater hospitality.

Great New York Pizza

By Robb C |

This restaurant was recommended to us by the Rosevelt Hotel around the corner. Man it was great. We definitely recommend this to anyone. Fast service and a great selection of all kinds of pizza, calzones and sandwiches.

Service less than stellar

By kara7374 |

While the pizza was good, the servers seems more concerned about talking on the phone or amongst themselves than helping a customer. My slices weren't put in the oven when I ordered and I sat there for 20 minutes watching everyone else getting their orders. Lots of chatter between those working, even as someone waited to order. Finally it was noticed that I didn't get my food and I was asked what I ordered. No apologies as they put the slices in the oven or delivered to my table. won't go back.

Pizza is gross, service is disgusting

By areyes279 |

I am not sure why this pizza place has close to a 5 star rating. The pizza is okay. The place is very disorganized. We ordered pizza and tipped them and they did not want us to sit inside because we ordered “in shop”. Where we come from, if we have to ask permission to sit inside, there is a sign that says “wait to be seated” or “to go” order line. There is absolutely no direction and everyone is rude at this place, just nasty. Do mot waste your time.

quick pizza

By kaano-samedo |

we all wanted a pizza on our last night in NY so we found this place fairly close to our hotel. It was ok but there was not a huge choice and it is not a very comfortable place to sit and eat. Perhaps better as a take-out. Pizza was ok but nothing special

took the family for a New York Pizza

By Rayonion |

All four of us agreed they were the best pizzas we had ever eaten. Also the biggest. Uncle Paul's was a short walk from our hotel, so very convenient. It was busy but we managed to snag a table for four. The selection of pizzas was quite large. This is someplace I will definitely get to on my next visit to the Big Apple.

Bad

By Relax50711489355 |

This place sucks. My brother left a bag here and we called and asked if this place could mail it to us and we will pay. This place automatically hung up on us and didn’t answer. Whenever we called on a different phone, they proceeded to hang up. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Wouldn’t recommend. Fix your workers attitude.

3 Queens Holiday 2018

By Craig R |

Just around the corner from our Hotel. Called in for Pizza one night, great place. The glass of wine is huge and the pizza's are great. Small pizza cost about US$12 (1 person) Large pizza cost about US$25 (min 3 People) Slice about US$4.50 A great place for a quick bit to eat, and really nice pizza.

Delicious

By Alison G |

Stumbled upon this place on our way back to our hotel. The meat lovers pizza was delicious! We also enjoyed chatting with the staff who were friendly & helpful with directions. Would absolutely recommend, NY style pizza.. a bit pricy but worth it

Best pizza ever!!

By Tracey705 |

Myself and my two daughters whilst shopping on 5th Ave were recommended Uncle Paul’s for lunch by a local lady in one of the shops. A little walk which took less than 5 minutes. The pizza is the best we have ever had! We all three different ones, each as good as each other! Very reasonably priced, nice staff...we even went back the day after as it was so good! Not to be missed when in NYC!

6 out of 5 star pizza slice

By Margie D |

Best. Pizza. Ever. 6 out of 5 stars good! Small and quaint and not terribly expensive. If you want great pizza with a glass of wine, this is a great place!

Good service

By Anita C |

Arrived in NYC late at night and this was the firs5 place we saw that was open. Good choice, friendly service & excellent pizza.

Great pizza

By DonDee1411 |

Nice little pizza spot we dropped into before going to see Aladdin. We got 5 slices of pizza and 3 drinks and I’m sure it was under $40 which is the cheapest food we had the entire time we were there! Giant slices, great range of flavours.

Good pizza, ok service

By Tyler R |

Went for lunch, pizza was good but took a while to get our order in and receive our pis as it was a particularly busy period. Once received, pi was quite good. Toppings and ingredients all seemed fresh and were tasty. Waitress came across as bristly to several members of our group however I found her pleasant enough.

Very good pizza

By Kjetil_Almvik |

Very good pizza and carbonara. It is not a huge restaurant, more a take away place, but some tables in the room. We enjoyed it!

People Q 4 a slice of Uncle Paul's NY Pizza!

By KP P |

Recommended by a local clothing emporium! They weren't wrong! A constant queue forming inside the door. Each customer eyeing the partially cooked Slices of local favourites; ready to be heated, wrapped and taken away. Or they were looking to design their own pie: S, M or L (remember these are US sizes) They happily create split toppings pies because "Joey, doesn't share food!" (Friends).

Good pizza!

By JAR1991 |

We visited this place on our first night in New York, we needed something quick and easy and this had decent reviews! It was very good value for money, although I wouldn't say it was the best pizza we had whilst in New York it's still worth a visit, the portions are enormous (we couldn't finish a large pizza between us).

So good!!

By Jill T |

I would’ve never known this place was there. Amazing little hole in the wall pizza joint near Grand Central!! I have a gluten intolerance and was able to eat their gluten free pizza without a problem, and it was delicious!

Delicious pizza pie near Grand Central and The Summit

By SJStravel |

Delicious pizza. Simple restaurant and the quality of the food speaks for itself. Very friendly staff. Would recommend and go back.

New York Pizza

By Sonya |

Visiting New York for the first time so wanted to try New York pizza. Found this place close to my hotel. Loved it! Great laid back atmosphere. Friendly waitress. Great pizza! We ordered a large pepperoni. 8 large slices! Way too much for 2 people but they boxed it for us to go. Locals and tourists.

Good pasta and pizza a block from Grand Central Station

By Manuel Acosta |

had the seafood pasta that was great, pizza was also very good. Staff was nice and the prices not bad for NY

Fantastic Pizza

By Harrietfrench |

An awesome pizza joint which was just around the corner from our hotel. Service was great, pricing was affordable and the food was SO good. I had a small pizza (huge portion) and it was delicious, my partner had the pasta and reckons it’s the best he’s had in the city. Definitely recommend!

Amazing pizza

By Michal |

Great pizza especially grandmothers pizza that has a thin crust and amazing tomato sauce . The service is quick and it is a great break

Totally worth it!!

By Oana P |

Very good pizza, over the top service!! Very nice guys over there making sure you not only have lunch but also creating memories! Strongly recommend!!

Great small Spot for pizza.

By Bruce Bannister |

Small Italian eatery. Great thin New York style pizza. Service was good and food came out fast. Price was reasonable. We would go back.

Yummy pizza

By AndoverBonnie |

We searched this place out. Very quaint, just a few tables to sit. We ordered in line than sat at table, don’t think the waitress was happy with us. Pizza was delightful, a good Greek salad. Plenty of beers to choose from.

Paul’s Pizza PERFECT

By TravelinKs2001 |

Perfect pizza with great customer service. I would definitely recommend this pizza to anyone close enough to get it. Worth it

So good, you have to go back multiple times

By Kristy E |

This is one of those places that keeps supporting front-line workers when bad stuff happens. The team here kept sending pizzas to FDNY and NYPD, along with the medical and public health staff that were working to stop the spread of Covid19. Their business was at an all time low and yet they were pushing pizzas out the door faster than ever because that is where the need existed. They did this before, after Sandy hit, some places are just class-acts, so we really wanted to go here and patronize their business. Freaking awesome! Chicken Parmesan Pizza, this slice was so amazing that I tasted herb and spice combinations that I have not experienced since I lived in Livorno, Italy. That was yesterday, today I am returning for another slice of... who cares? If it is Uncle Paul's it is going to be amazing!

Good low-cost option

By Maureen H |

Close to Grand Central and Times Square, Paul's was a great choice for a lower cost family meal. There was a steady stream of people ordering slices, although we enjoyed a sit-down meal. Pizza was excellent; other meals were good. There were gluten-free options for pizza as well as pasta. It's a smaller place, but we had no problem getting seats around 6:30pm as many people took their pizza to go.

Not to be missed!

By Rachel122 |

I wish we had found this place earlier in our trip. Great food, wonderful friendly staff. What topped it off was the price of the food, which unlike every other place we'd visited was good value for money. I had the lasagna, my husband had the carbonara, and my son the Pesto gnocchi, and we ate all of it. It was very busy and the staff were overwhelmed, but they were doing the best they could, and admitted that. Zelka was a favourite and my son really developed a soft spot for her, she was so friendly and welcoming. I would have happily returned had we had enough time to do so Can't recommend it highly enough!

Pizza by the slice

By Colleenlr7 |

We enjoyed getting pizza by the slice here. Lots of variety. Thin crust. Crunchy. Nice sauce. Fast service.

Horrible experience. Liars about time.

By Luci d |

They weren’t open. They hey said open til 7:30am but were closed at 12:00am. So upset about this experience and disappointed about their lying. They should be open when they said they are.

Takeout pasta

By Keith W |

Great little restaurant. I picked up pasta for takeout and it was fantastic. Staff was friendly and helpful. I'll definitely be back to try the pizza next time.

I love this place - but they changed my favorite dish

By Simbaroni65 |

this is a classic little take out Italian joint. Good pizza, salads and pastas all reasonably priced (for NY!). I had one pasta dish that I had to eat every time I came into town, It is with eggplant and fresh mozerella. They must have a new chef because it is nothing like the old dish and now has a dark red sauce. Too bad. I probably will go back for the pizza and the staff is friendly and the place is casual and unpretentious.

Not Worth the Walk

By Catherine M |

I tried to order online for delivery and received the error message that I was out of delivery range. So I completed my order online and walked over to pick it up. On arrival it wasn’t ready and they had no record of the order. To re-order they wanted to charge me a full $5.00 over the online charge. When has an on site charge been higher than delivery? I told them about my order and they kept repeating the higher charge. I walked out and went some place better. NOT WORTH THE WALK.

Decent pizza, but...

By 0908267 |

...the toilet was a disgrace! Hadn’t been attended to for hours - the bin was overflowing and there was no hand soap with a lot of mess on the floor. However, this small, busy restaurant is very fast moving. Tables are small and close together and there aren’t many of them. However what it lacks in size, it makes up for in quality of pizza. Highly recommend the bolognese pizza but would avoid the breakfast one. Service is good but the iPad menus aren’t really fit for purpose - need to updating to increase user friendliness.

It was swanky!!

By Josh D |

I always try to go celebrity hunting when I walk in NYC or East Hampton but it is impossible to find one!! I believe the chances of finding a celebrity are the same chances as becoming one!! Why I mention this is because I have run into Paul McCartney in east Hampton two times!! He is named Paul and this pizza place is called uncle pauls!! I went here before I saw Samuel l Jackson on Broadway and I got a grandma and a Sicilian and a kiwi strawberry Snapple!! I just realized it sounds like I got an actual grandma but I got the grandma pizza!! It was very crispy and the sauce was very good!! It is on Vanderbilt avenue which is one of the fanciest streets!! I believe that you people should all go here!!

Best Pizza

By Jason L |

Absolutely a must Best pizza pie I’ve ever had and the plus was you can mix any kind of slice to make a pie. Definitely a high light of our trip.

Perfect No Frills Dinner

By Serial-Diner |

We stumbled upon Uncle Paul's whilst we were staying in the Roosevelt Hotel, and we were glad that we found it. It was very busy but the waiter got us a table within 10mins. Service was quick and friendly. Food was basic Italian fare but done exactly as you would want it...tasty and no frills. We liked it so much that we went back the next night for more. It's fairly easy on the pocket too!!! Recommended

Tasty and inexpensive spot for a slice.

By seashll59 |

Stopped for a slice after wandering around the city. Not busy on a Saturday afternoon. Outdoor seating was comfortable and clean. No draft beer but ample selection of bottled beers. Excellent garlic bread and pizza. Saw another customers pasta dish which looked delicious too.

Amazing pizza!

By NSHP |

Hotel doorman recommended a quick pizza place nearby. Wow! Delicious and friendly take away -but you could eat in. I actually went back on way back later to get another slice!

Terrible pizzas , dirty place

By SMP225 |

Terrible pizzas , not authentic Italian, run by Eastern Europeans Chef blew his nose before taking pizza out of oven ….eeeew!! Restrooms filthy DO NOT EAT HERE !!!!

Great pizza, awful service

By thomas h |

Well, the pizza is amazing. Really tasty and really authentic. But, whatever you do, dont dine in! The head chef who also operates the takeaway till was so miserable it was a joke, he didn't break a smile once which was ironic considering the tshirts that all the staff wear are printed on the back to say that they should smile at all times! We waited 35 minutes to be served and the waitress just kept walking past us and asking 'has someone taken your order yet?'. I feel sorry for the waitresses because they are clearly understaffed. A shame because the pizza was delicious. Next time I would just get a takeaway.

First time in NY and of course had to find some true NY Style Pizza - Used TripAdvisor to see what you all recommended. This was a great find! LOVED it! The place is small but very unique, great customer service and best of all the food!

Great for a simple but delicious pizza lunch

By Mikan999 |

Typical New York pizza restaurant close to Grand Central station. They serve really good pizzas by the slice. There is a huge choice of different toppings. They also serve wine. Big portions, two slices are enough. They also have some nice chianti to go with the pizza. Very friendly (they'll chat for hours if you want!) , quick and helpful service. It is not easy to find, we just chanced upon it walking from Grand Central but for a good reasonably priced lunch it would be worth a detour.

Great find

Just steps away from Roosevelt Hotel on E. 45th. Small restaurant with great staff and a mix of dining in & take-out and locals & tourists. Delicious food. staff and great menus

Big Pizza - Great Flavor - $25 for large 1 topping

By rickmorris1023 |

When looking for pizza in New York you have a lot to choose from. The selection of what you can order from here is decent. However you have two options, small 10” or large 18”. The large is $22 plain. Add any toppings for $3 each. The pizza was good but nothing to celebrate. The flavor of the sauce was good but the crust was a bit like cardboard tasting. It was not a bad pizza and glad we tried it once. Would not pay this price for another pizza.

Absolutely Delicious Lunch

By Gracie |

My husband and I spend a day in New York. A slice of pizza each and a cold beverage from this little spot was divine! To top it off we had great service from a spunky, hardworking waitress. Give them a try. You won’t be sorry.

Very good pizza

By guppie9 |

We stumbled upon Uncle Paul's while looking for lunch near Grand Central. Uncle Paul's did not disappoint. We ordered a whole pepperoni and it was hot and delicious. The restaurant itself was a little cramped but the food made up for it.

Excellent pizza in near Grand Central

By Lesha P |

Delicious pizza in midtown! Fantastic crust, traditional and inventive toppings. Eat in or take away. Quick and friendly service.

amazing pizaza

By Oren K |

Nice and quiet pizzeria with a variety of unique dishes at very reasonable prices. Close to Time Square is highly recommended

Great Side Orders

By SofiaJoe |

We split a 10” pizza and ordered spinach and mushroom side dishes. Both were garlicky and delicious. The Neopolitan pizza was ok and much better with some added cheese sprinkled on.

dinner

By Amna Z |

Excellent pizza.Exactly. what New York Italian pizza should taste like. Cheerful staff, and they are open late. Lovely little place

Bad

By Daniela F |

My son went to your restaurant today for dinner with his school. He accidentally left his EF Tour bag. My family and I offered money if he could mail it to us since we live all the way in Texas. We called on 3 Different phones because whenever we called and told him, he just let it ring. BAD COSTUMER SERVICE. DONT RECOMEMT TO PEOPLE.

Amazing Pizza

By Jennie M |

Visited Uncle Paul’s Pizza tonight and could not fault anything. The pizza was outstanding and the service was great!!! Would recommend a visit for pizza, and coffee. You can buy pizza by the piece which was even better as you could try different ones. Would go there again if I ever return to New York.

Grab a slice by Penn Station

By Anna H |

We were looking for a fast option for lunch with a space to sit down. We ordered slices of pizza, stromboli and drinks to go at the counter and sat down in the dining area. It's small and fast paced but the food was great.

Amazing tiramisu!

By kmlever1980 |

We ordered pizza, salad, fruit, drinks and dessert, everything tasted delicious especially the tiramisu it was amazing. Clean inside, lovely staff behind the counter, we will definitely recommend and will return before we fly back to the UK. Prices reasonable when considering the great quality of food and big portions.

quick slice before leaving NYC

By Jen N |

We were craving great pizza and did not have to look too far from Grand Central. Uncle Paul's did not disappoint. Friendly and quick service. We enjoyed wine and pizza at a a great price.

Your not-a-tourist local Italian place

By Thomas - Genevi... H |

This was a great little Italian restaurant. The staff were very friendly and, during our second visit in a week, they recognized us and engaged in conversation. The pizzas were New York style, but a bit more artisan. The meat balls were amazing, and a very good sized portion as well! We highly recommend!

Visited NYC over the Holidays and Came Here Twice

By Terry S |

We were staying in a Midtown hotel fro the Christmas holidays and were looking for a casusal place for pizza. Some in our party really liked the buffalo chicken pizza, although I preferred the classic pepperonni/sauage combo, Crowed but friendly with prompt service. Nice dessert menu also.

Great Pizza

By DANA K |

Small very friendly pizzaria. Service was wonderful. Margherita, grandma and truffle pizza were really good. I will definitely return.

So it really is true that

By Bnblover1130 |

So it really is true that New York pizza is the best. A couple of NYC cops told us to go here for pizza and it didn’t disappoint! Best pizza I’ve ever had. My husband and I were both impressed. The waitress ( blonde girl from West Palm I believe) was very nice and engaging in conversation with us and our daughter. This was out first time in NYC and we will be back for pizza when we return.

❤️

By da277 |

Great pizza, fast service and reasonable prices. Loved the Grandma slices. Servers were very nice and attentive.

Okay Pizza - Have A Gluten-Free Option

By Rudy B |

NYC has a pizza place on just about every corner and this falls in that category. Don't get me wrong, the pizza, environment, service, and atmosphere were great. And you can't beat the prices (really normal). We came here because my wife wanted gluten-free pizza, so if you need that option it's worth the visit. I don't think I would go here again, especially go out of my way like we did for this visit, but if you're staying/living in the area it's a perfect spot and you won't be disappointed. I recommend going here if it's close by, just be warned it's okay pizza, but the small dining area isna good place to hang out.

Wonderful pizza!

By L-diggitty |

By far the best pizza we have eaten while in NYC! The lasagna pizza was my absolute favorite, and my son loved the buffalo chicken. The pepperoni was great as well! We loved it and would recommend!

The best quattro formaggi pizza I've ever had

By musselsandprawns |

The pizza was excellent. They add the truffle oil to the quattro formaggi pizza...that's sooo good. Amazing combination, so tasty. If you like cheese on pizza, try this one and I'm sure you won't regret it. We also had a vegetarian pizza, which was also very good. The place itself is rather informal and cosy, and the service was kind and fast. You get really good value for money.

Big big pizzas but I'm not sure about the mozzarella

By Jc1412 |

We went here as staying - some of us - at the nearby Roosevelt Hotel. It was much smaller than expected, but all the better for that. Good feel about the place. The pizzas - large option - were enormous and would feed a party of four if they weren't too hungry. My son opted for a small Neapolitan Pepperoni and regretted his choice of size. The slices were fine for the kids. I had a caprese salad and - I hope I don't sound too pretentious - was not too happy with the mozzarella. Sure was not 'bufala.' Anyway, who goes to a pizzeria and orders a caprese. I would go back and tuck in to a pizza, probably with a bunch of friends. Beers fine too.

Even good the next day.

By hman6088 |

The place is kinda hidden on Vanderbilt due to current construction in the area. We went on one of the hotter days of this summer, so I can understand why this small place was a tad bit warm inside. Meat lovers pizza was pretty good. Reminded us of pizza we used to love on the Ocean City boardwalk. Price seemed a little high, but not outrageous.

Great cheap New York pizza

By Steve Sharon L |

This is right below the Roosevelt Hotel and is a great place for lunch or dinner. Large variety of pizzas by the slice or order whole pizzas. Food was very good. They also had pastas and other items along with large variety of drinks and desserts. Price exceptional. A very casual and fun atmosphere.

Great Pizza

By LV |

My husband loved the pizza. That’s the specialty here. There wasn’t a menu so I got a salad. The salad was premade but fresh and the Caesar dressing was excellent. I had seen bruschetta on the on line menu, but it wasn’t available. My husband said it was the best pizza he had ever had

Meh

By Janis M |

We opted to go here after a long day of sightseeing as my partner had been before. We walked along in the rain and where greeted by a rude younger guy who couldn’t be arsed by the sounds of it. Asked if we could order just a plain chicken pizza and he couldn’t understand the word chicken 6x!! (I’m Scottish not speaking in tongue and no one else had an issue) anyway we pointed to a pizza and asked for that, again blank look on his face so I pointed to the BBQ chicken pizza, was made fresh and the size was more than enough for us both. Sadly when we opened the box it had been literally smothered in BBQ sauce which completely ruined it for us, less bbq sauce and it would have been a 4* even with attitude of counter staff

Food was great.

By Anthony |

The pizza was great and it was well priced. I would recommend as a must visit place when in midtown.

Best gluten free pizza!

By Charlotte |

The gluten free pizza was amazing. They can do any pizza gluten free and the pizza is a good size. Service was good as well and a reasonable price.

Great pizza and atmosphere

By Jimthoughts |

My wife is gluten free so we googled gf pizza restaurants and this one came up with good reviews and happened to be close to our hotel so we gave it a try. The restaurant is small and as it was a Friday evening it was almost full and buzzing but we got a table and were handed menus almost straight away and drinks orders were taken. The waitress who served us was super friendly and our food our orders were also taken promptly. Food was served up in good time and both our our pizzas were extremely tasty. Waitress dropped by regularly to check all was OK. We thoroughly enjoyed eating here and returned on our last night in NYC where the waiter who served on this occassion was equally friendly and efficient.

Good pizza.

By Maria T |

A very tasty pizza, quick service and very polite staff. Suitable for dine in, take away and delivery. I would recommend.

Close proximity to Roosevelt Hotel, just steps outside door

By tgree015 |

Adequate menu selection with economical pricing. Comprised of approximately four two-seater tables, four four-seaters, and a counter-style table along back/side wall. Authentic pizza, drinks, wings & shrimps. Lots of delivery orders on the Friday before Xmas week.

HORRIBLE

By Jaden O |

Horrible food and bad customer service I lost my bag and they would hang up for no reason and never answered when I called back

Good pizza at the right price

By Lambert |

Great Price quality ratio for a simple but good meal: good dough, balanced filling and clean place I recommend

Best NY Style Pizza

By Kevin |

Uncle Pauls is a traditional NYC pizza and Italian restaurant near grand central station. Located next door from Yale Club it’s a must visit stop if you want the best NYC pizza and sandwiches. Small space but comfortable. Very personable service. It’s the real deal!

Ok pizza joint

By Frank R |

Pizza was good. A bit salty and a bit pricey for a midtown pizza place. I don't know why this place needs a waitress during lunch. I could have gotten food a lot faster myself without having my party needlessly pay a tip to walk 2 feet.

Great find

By Karen F |

We came across Paul’ Pizza by mistake and what a good mistake. Pizza’s are Delish and lovely girl serving us. Not over priced. Would highly recommend

Don’t Miss!!!

By Billy T. |

New York pizza experience! We called ahead after arriving in the city jonesing for some pizza and red wine. When we asked if they were licensed to serve alcohol we got a hilarious earful about not paying anymore taxes. Of course we were going after that…wine or no wine! The space is more suited for take way but there is a little dining area and a great little covered patio out front which we were happy to use. The slices were all laid out and allowed us to sample a number of options. We grabbed four slice to try and two BIG glasses of wine. The pepperoni and sausage was our favourite with the Buffalo chicken a close second. The undercarriage was crispy and the cook was perfect. We noticed that construction workers and cops filtered in and out for their night shift snack as we watched the world go by on the patio beside Vanderbilt Ave. Highly recommended for an authentic NYC pizza experience

Family Visit

By Butterworth Family |

We had three days in New York and ate here two nights! The pizza is amazing and the staff are friendly and helpful.

Great meal and value

By AndrewH637 |

Great place to eat - found it on our way back to the hotel. Pizza choices were brilliant with plenty of vegetarian options. Would eat here more often but our time in NYC is unfortunately short.

Exactly What We Expected an NY Pizza Would Be!

By nate2608 |

this place was just around the corner from where we stayed, cheap, delicious pizza, we also ordered a garlic bread which came with a home made tomato based sauce which was delicious. We ended up going back again as it was so well priced and really satisfied a family of 4 for around $30

Crisp thin crust that stands on it's own!! Amazing

By Pam C |

This place is SO good. You can order by the slice or a whole pizza. The two of us each ordered two slices. . . it was to die for!! I loved the lasagna pizza and veggie. They have wine and beer as well. It was an amazing end to a long day of exploring the city. There is a combination of regular tables and high tops. The service was prompt and friendly.

Excellent pizza

By Frane M |

Excellent pizza, quick & charming service at a very good price. Just what we needed after a long day walking round NYC. Definitely coming back.

Delicious pizza in a tiny pizza joint.

By Laura In Maine |

Small place with great pizza! You can buy a whole pie or a slice and they have gluten free options that our party member with celiac said was yummy.

Awesome NY Pizza!

By Michelle P |

Open until 1:30am so be sure to check it out for your late night pizza cravings. Highly recommend meat lovers, they also have a great variety of other flavors, and awesome neapolitan also. You can buy slices or a whole pizza. I don't recommend the 10" small because the dough is different - instead just go for a couple slices if you don't want the whole pie.

Tasty Pizza & great atmosphere!

By Nicki M |

In NYC for our 3rd time (but 1st around thanksgiving) and popped in for a 10" pepperoni, sausage & onion pizza between 2. Dough was light & crispy, the tomato sauce was extremely tasty & not acidic as some can be and it was loaded with fresh mozzarella cheese and meats. You can order by the slice or 10/18". Other tables had some great looking dishes on their plates and yes, I would highly recommend and will be going again and again and again if I can fit in these many visits before flying home & the Staff were super friendly and helpful.

New York is dope for reals.

By DirectorMazu |

It was my sister & I first time comin to NYC all the way from Texas on Monday 12/12/2022. Decided to eat somethin. Foods dope. Cool guys up at the front who served us. I’d for sure go back there again when I come back and visit.

Great Pizza to eat in or takeaway

By D S |

Went for a relaxed pizza and to sit in. A great selection of pizza with a wide selection of drinks. Good service and if you want to sit in, there are about 24 covers. There is a TV as well.

Hidden gem

By Helen W |

If you want authentic cooking a stone’s throw from New York Central Station visit this place. Down a couple of steps from the street we were in Italy. A charming waitress set up a bistro style table near the counter. It was a busy place with a steady line of New Yorkers coming in to collect their supper. We were the only tourists which probably tells a tale in itself. Even the police made a visit to buy pizza rather than to arrest anyone. Wine was served from the bottle, was very palatable and very reasonably priced. The pizza was freshly prepared and the first one obviously did not meet their quality control because they declined to serve it and cooked another one. Service was efficient and friendly and the pizza was delicious and absolutely enormous – no way we could finish it. There is limited seating in this restaurant as there is a lot of takeaway trade. This place is a gem where the food speaks for itself and the prices are very low. Very highly recommended.

Sister's Trip

By Cecilia |

The best pizza in town. The waitress Nala so nice. At 12pm is still open. A great kind of wines, and beer.

Most underrated pizza in Gotham City.

By Donkey K |

Doesn’t have the name or hype of Joe’s, Scarr’s, or the Little Italy establishments... but this is very good pizza. Go get a slice of the lasagna pizza and tell me there are 5 better slices in the city. Underrated, but so very good.

Excellent pizza

By pbridgman |

Pizza was perfect and fairly priced , great spot for a nice lunch. Service was friendly. Also had full menu , rib eye steak and other stuff but we only had pizza.

Very good pizza

By James J |

Small restaurant, Table service and a very popular takeout counter. Great pizza for your “pizza night”. Not my definition of a dining experience.

Good Service and Food

By BigSlimJim |

Met an old work colleague and her family here for a meal on Sunday afternoon. Would not have found this place if it was not for my friend. Great service and the lasagna pizza was superb. You could order by the slice or a full sized one which were very large. Deserts were good and the cream Carmel was very tasty.

Fantastic

By Simone McFarland Travel |

This restaurant was delicious. It’s near Grand Central Station and a neighborhood pizza joint. Nora our waitress was just like the back of her tshirt, all about service. We all loved the lasagna pizza. You know you’re eating in a good place when NYPD comes in to pick up an order.

Best spaghetti ever

By chrysta r |

I had the best spaghetti and meat balls that I have ever tasted! This is a hidden gem and the staff was friendly and the prices were good and well

Awesome pizza, just awesome!

By tike1 |

Went here on a whim, shortly after arriving from the UK and wanted something tasty and fast! Trip Advisor had it rated highly so gave it a try... The place is small and functional but the pizza is absolutely amazing! I had a couple of slices, one of which was the odd sounding lasagna pizza, which is a life changing experience! The bases are so tasty and crispy, and toppings the perfect amount. Their fruit salad bowl was also super tasty and good value. Would highly recommend and definitely will go again when back in NY!

The Real Deal of NYC pizza

By Jennifer M |

Loved this little hidden gem in Midtown. Definitely set off the main shopping area, but worth the extra steps. Cute, authentic, & delicious. Good counter service. No table service.

Take out

By Gordon |

Food was ok prices are really high for what u get.staff are arrogant the sign says did u know we cater.but they don't cater to customer needs wouldn't recommend 2 star based on food only the rest is terrible

Not at all satisfied!!!!

By Alessia |

Not very satisfied with the pizza. Margherita with garlic and oregano? Where has it ever been?!?! Very high price and very, very poor quality. I would not recommend it at all.

Great pizza, especially the lasagna pizza

By TAMU97 |

We liked this so much we ate here twice. It was recommended by our concierge. We tried a slice each of the lasagna (favorite!), buffalo chicken, margarita & sausage pizzas. You may wait a little bit for a table (it’s on the smaller side), but it’s worth the wait! Staff was great!

Good Pizza

By Chris Heim |

The pizza here is quite good, and large! Arrive early, as seating is limited. Service was friendly and prompt. You can get a draft beer as well, which I consider a bonus. We're glad we visited Uncle Paul's.

Great Pizza

This restaurant was recommended to us by our hotel and we were not disappointed. We had to wait a bit for table as it was so popular but we were taken care of from the start. Pizza was delicious and so was the beer!

Average pizza, awful service

By Stephen O |

We visited here based on the good reviews. We chose to sit outside which was nice and relaxing. It was happy hour when we arrived and we ordered 1 wine and a beer. The waitress said the wine would be a little while as it had been left out of the fridge. 20 minutes later when the wine arrived it was still warm and not nice at all, so we swapped it for a cold soft drink instead. The pizza arrived quickly and was reasonably tasty but it certainly wasn't anything to write home about. When the bill came they had still charged us for the wine and we were told that they couldn't refund it because the manager was not in the restaurant and they were the only people who could refund, take that with a pinch of salt... The waitress got very defensive when I said I wasn't paying for the wine, she said it wasn't her problem and I shouldn't punish her for the bad wine. They offered us another drink as a replacement but by that point we just wanted to leave because of the attitude and service they gave us. The expeince left a sour taste in our mouths, very similar to the hot cheap wine they served us. Oh, i almost forgot to mention, when we took the wine back we saw the waitress pour the wine back into the bottle. I definitely would not visit Uncle Paul's again.
