We got there dead hungry and found super tasty pizza! Service was also super nice. We definetly recommend this place for others!!!

We were staying in William street, stumbled on this place by chance. Excellent friendly and very very tasty pizza,we ended up back there three nights out of five ,and I'm not even keen on pizza. Pricing very good value ,I had the ham and pineapple, the bases on these pizzas were dam perfect,my daughter had a pasta dish, made fresh to order. Highly recommend this place,go of the beaten track,if you love pizza you won't be disappointed. Thanks for your friendly service .

I have been fortunate enough to have eaten pizza all over and Underground Pizza has one of my favorites. Try the jalapeno and bacon!!

Stopped to grab some calzones before heading to Governor's island... excellent choice ! It was pretty quiet at 11:30AM, but I imagine that it does get quite busy closer to noon... it's Worth the detour for some great tasting NY pizza !

I have pizza on a regular basis here and Roy always prepares it as I like it, with extra sauce and not too much cheese

I could not be happier with this pizza place. However, I have a problem. I live in the South and they don't deliver to NC! I am still thinking about this pizza. Hoping that I can return soon!

We ate the vegetarian Pizza and we can not understand that the review in tripavisor are so good. The pizza was tasteless. We would not come again.

Good little pizza takeaway - but does have some tables as well - great selection, including some pasta, but the pizza is fresh, cooked / heated perfectly for you. Buy by the slice or full pizza - had pepperoni plus a sausage with jalapeño - both delicious. Looks like they have daily specials as well. 5 mins walk to the Charging Bull or NYSE (or the Fearless Girl) or Staten Is ferry terminal… perfect!!!

One of the best slices of Margheritta pizza I have ever had. Great selection of hot and fresh pies. There is a lot of seating in the back, the place is bigger than it looks.

This place is just great, all types of pizza slices including an incredibly hearty and delicious Sicilian one -- good on the go, or to eat in the crowded upstairs "dining room," where you'll be jammed in with stacked pizza boxes and NY characters! A real find in the busy Wall St area!

Came for lunch. Tried a cheese slice (required of any new to me pizzeria for calibration purposes) and a slice of their choice. They picked the Abuela. Possibly my last choice if left on my own. Sicilian cut but half as thick. No fancy toppings. The cheese slice was just ok, but the Abuela was FABULOUS. A must try. It was the sauce. It tasted like it was full of red wine, but cooked down perfectly. I'll be back to see if that was a fluke! The service was totally Ny cocky but friendly. Just what I want in a pizzeria.

You honestly think that two slices of your soggy, swamp-looking pizza for $5.75 could ever top this doo-doo? You are either retard or a fairy

Beware the lunch rush, this place gets crazy, but for good reason because their slices are really good. Get the vodka sauce with sausage if you see it out...

Recommended by a local New Yorker - did not disappoint! Pizza by the slice. Nothing fancy...just good pizza/good price!

I can't settle the perpetual debate on which is the best pizza in NYC but i can tell you that Underground has the best pizza in the Financial District. I've had their pizza for almost 20 years and throughout this time it has always been consistently delicious. Firm crispy crust, quality fresh ingredients and excellent service (either for eat-in or delivery). My all-time favorite and Go-To pie is Pepperoni and Jalapenos. Match made in heaven! They chopped the jalapenos and sprinkle them all over the pie, it gives the right amount of kick and also some acidity to counter the pepperoni. If you're in the area and/or wanna order a pie do yourself a favor and call them, you will not regret it.

Had the jalapeño & bacon pizza ! To die for ! This place is great & the pizza is delicious! Will be back for sure!

We just returned from 8 days in NYC. We ate at 4 different pizza places and this was by far the best. The crust was great and i loved the sauce. The owner was also very kind and thankful for our business. He told us how much he appreciated our business and you could tell he meant it. We asked him to take a photo with us and he was so happy to do it. We highly recommend Underground Pizza.

Our hotel was in the Financial District and on our way back from Midtown we wanted to get some pizza and stumbled on this place on the recommendation of a local. The slices are HUGE, and the pizza is definitely good, although not a whole lot of variety to choose from. Still, definitely recommend if you're in the area, and although it looks tiny from the front there is a large-ish seating area in the back if you want to eat in.

My family ran into the bagel shop next door but I had a taste for pizza. It was very early lunch time. Ordered a slice of cheese. Went outside and had my first bite. The crust was perfection!! I LOVE pizza.

Its a cool real place, not far from wall street. The pizza slices are as big as the ones u would see in American tv shows. I was full on two slices.

We were in NYC for just two days and didn't have time to hit either of my favorite pizza places. However, we found Underground Pizza while in the financial area and were happy with the pizza. The counter service was fast and friendly, and there was a good variety of pizzas. While not my favorite place for pizza in the city, it was pretty good. I would return here, if in the area, to grab a couple of slices.

Amazing Independent Pizzeria! Ben, the owner has been making pizza for over 40 years. Worth going out of your way to experience authentic NY Slices. A great lunch or diner if your coming off the Staten Island Ferry, visiting the stock exchange, Federal Hall, or the Charging Bull, Many choices including Margherita, Pepperoni, sausage, spinach and artichoke, mushroom, veggie, or grandma's! Excellent friendly service!

I walk by Underground Pizza while doing my walking tours and have stopped by there many times to grab lunch. There are many pizza places in FiDi and I like their's the most. Its always fresh, tasty and fast. The staff is very friendly and fast. Often they have a long line out the door for lunch, but it moves fast and I have never waited there more than 5min to be serve.

Excellent for a quick slice! Seating is in the back of the establishment so on the cold days, you don't feel the weather when people are coming in and out.

My boyfriend and I stopped in for a quick bite and were blown away. The pizza is fantastic (especially the veggie pie) and the prices aren't crazy like most NYC pizza places. If you're in lower Manhattan, definitely stop in for a slice.

I saw this on Trip Advisor and decided to try it. We had a hard time finding the place at night, but we found it and were not disappointed. We got pizza by the slice and they were big slices for a decent price. Had a nice conversation with the owner who was very friendly.

We were staying around the corner from this pizza place and didn't want to wander far for dinner so we came here. They didn't have much left to purchase by the slice (seems like more of a lunch place) an hour before closing so we ordered an entire pizza. We sat at their little seating area upstairs and waited. Pizza didn't take long. It looked really good when it arrived and thankfully it tasted pretty darn good also. They had an insane amount of assembled pizza boxes and a guy building more so they must do a rocking trade in pizza. If you're staying in the area and are looking for something to eat nearby, this is a good choice.

Not only was the pizza incredible and one if the best in the city, the owner was friendly and appreciative! Clean restaurant and bathroom!

We were amazed! Was the best NYC slice I've had a long time. Quality ingredients. My wife's first ever NY slice and she loved it. Will return, definitely.

Hearty toppings and large slices. Good service. Buffalo chicken pizza really good. Quick filling bite.

We popped in for a quick lunch before heading uptown for more site seeing. It looks like a little hole in the wall (those are all the best places), but opens up to a large seating area in the back. Perfect to rest after seeing the sites in the financial district. I ordered a slice of pepperoni and a large soda. The slice was huge and fresh from the oven. My total was only $5.75 which you can't beat for such a delicious meal. I even went back and ordered another slice. I couldn't miss my chance to enjoy some true NY pizza. The guys working the counter were very friendly! I high recommend Underground Pizza!

We were staying in the area so i checked out a few local pizza places that had decent reviews. We dropped in for a slice and was not blown away. For me the cheese was a little salty. The crust was ok average at best. Price was reasonable.

Amazing pizza selections, had thin crust - GREAT, had pan pizza - GREAT. The salads are HUGE. Nice craft beer selections too. Owner and staff were helpful and very curates. We will be back!

I love pizza, but I don't eat cheese (dairy allergic). When we moved into the Financial District and saw Underground Pizza, my wife said we would have to try ordering a pie without any cheese and see how they did. So recently we were talking about getting some takeout for dinner, and settled on finally going through with our plan. So what we did is ordered a pie half with cheese (for her) and half without (for me). On my half I also put mushrooms and sausage, while she had spinach, mushrooms and peppers. A very good pie! And very filling - I ate two slices, froze the other two, and had them for two separate lunches. So it was very economical as well. And I would be remiss if I didn't mention that the guys (and gal) at UP are really nice too. Typical NYC pizza joint good people.

I loved the pizza with the garlic knots laying on top of the outside crust and Grandma's pizza is a simple pie with thin layer of sauce and cheese that reminded me of why pizza is just so good. It gets busy but they move you along pretty well. The eggplant rollatini appetizer is the bomb- huge and tasty for $6.

Good pizza. Tasty sauce. Prices fair for lower Manhattan, FiDi. Called in an order and picked up pir 15minutes later. Walked in for takeout on a Friday night, were at least 4 delivery guys in the shop loading up, so I'd bet delivery times are decent too.

Been living in Battery Park for six plus years and went surfing on Seamless for a new Italian food place. Ordered from Underground and it was excellent. The pepperoni roll and rigatoni vodka was out of this world. This is my new place for Italian. Love it.

We stumbled upon Underground Pizza after visiting the Freedom Tower and walking around downtown, We walked in and were greeted by the friendly guys behind the counter. Pizza looked, smelled and tasted delicious. The dough has just the right amount of crunch and chewiness. My family wanted seconds after we finished our first order. Went back up to order and had a nice conversation with the owners. They have been there a long time and are proud of their restaurant!

Superbe experience! Typical Italian interior (very simple) and mainly provided for take-away but the pizza was delicious.

We found this place while walking around in the financial district and decided to go in for a slice. Chaotic at lunch but totally worth it. Have one person order and the rest go upstairs to get a table. The line moves very fast so know what you want when they ask you. Great pizza .... Our favorite in NYC!

Delicious Pizza!!!! Fun location. Seriously go here for your pizza! Fresh ingredients. Workers were kind. Place was clean.

Got a customized calzone with chicken.. did have to pay a bit more as they didnt have ham and cheese. But it was pretty good. Need to try the special with bacon next time.

Good pizza, nice selection of toppings. Prices are decent to moderate, considering it’s near Wall Street. Slices are $2.75, toppings or special slices are $3.25-4.00+. Service is good.

Very good. Pizza was hot good and quick. Bought 2 large pizza one being pepperoni and nine drinks for lunch for $54. Cant beat that in NYC. Pizza was out in about 10 minutes. A few kids bought slices. Everyone of the kids said it was good including me. Asked about subway and owner was very helpful. Would recommend.

I have to say the pizza is good, but the slices are small and pricer than its neighboring competitors.
Welcoming and Delicious
Walked in on a Thursday night and Ben, the owner was working and welcomed us in like we were family. We ordered a margharita pizza, plain cheese and pepperoni calzone and devoured it. The mozzarella was so fresh. Great atmosphere, phenomenal service, and delicious pizza! Enjoyed that Ben came to the table and share the story of the restaurant and how much he’s committed of his life to its success.
