Up Thai is reasonably priced and has a good extensive menu. Food is very good and so is the service. The place gets easily packed during lunch hours but it’s worth the wait. Try the Fried Chive Pancake! It’s the awesome. Very tasty, yet delicate. Crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. One order is not enough!

The decor was lovely and the food was overall quite good but two things prevent this place from ever getting five stars in my mind. Number one is the portions which are not exactly generous, and its not like the prices are particularly low to begin with. Secondly the reservation system (or lack thereof) is mildly absurd in 2018. They didn't even seem to have a working list of people waiting for the rest of their parties to arrive and the certainly don't make it convenient or simple. As a side note we felt very rushed during the meal as they tried to "turn" our table. I understand you want to get more paying customers in but rushing us out the door made us feel unwelcome and decreased the likelihood I will return as a paying customer.

With so many restaurants offering Thai cuisine, it's not easy to find the right one. Based on the recommendation of a local friend, had dinner at Up Thai and was very impressed with the quality. Will recommend to those looking for authentic Thai cuisine in NYC.

This restaurant was highly recommended by locals, who took care of reserving a couple of days earlier - when we went, it was full and they were turning away customers unwilling to wait at least half hour; in fact, our reservation held as long as the four of us showed exactly in time at 7 pm, otherwise our table would be given away (this was a Wednesday night). As a matter of fact, the restaurant is pretty small, with a pleasant and cosy atmosphere. The staff was very nice, and ready to lower the intensity of the light when we asked (it was right in our eyes). The food was excellent: the four of us ordered three appetisers (spring rolls, curry puff, soft salad rolls) and four entrees (similan curry, pad se-ew, basil eggplant, and pad krapraw), and we shared two fried banana desserts; with five drinks (the Singha beer is on tap), the bill was $146. We will go back, if we can think of reserving in time.

We found this place using Yelp that pointed us to this little restaurant. Fantastic Thai food, great taste, very good service and not expensive. We loved it! try the deserts too!

We went to Up Thai for the second time and were absolutely delighted again. The food is simply outstanding! The restaurant is small, loud and cozy. The service is very friendly and attentive, only the bar is a bit slow. But that doesn't detract from the rating - we will definitely be back!

This is my second favorite thai restaurant in all of NYC. Food: I have been coming here since 2018. It's a great place for vegetarians as they have tofu, veggie, and mock dock options. The food here is well spiced and made to taste. They've also made an effort to cater to my mom who is allergic to onions and garlic. Everything is made to order and the vegetables are fresh. The spring rolls don't feel too oily and are crispy. The Pad Kea Mao is really good here. I like that the noodles don't stick to each other and they make it really spicy for me, which I love. Up Thai is one of the few places I was able to find the Kao Soy entree. I love the tartness of the red apple and the curry is delicious. The size of the noodles are also exactly what you'd want in a soup noodle dish. The portions are the right size so you don't feel hungry or overstuffed. Ambiance: The decoration is beautiful and welcoming. You feel like you're inside a fancy twinkle garden. The tables are pretty well packed so it does get a bit tight. Their outside seating is also really nice. They have created a summer garden look and it's so inviting that even if you're walking by you'll stop to look at the restaurant. Delivery: I've also gotten delivery from here and they make an effort to package everything in a way so that it doesn't spill and is still hot. The food holds well to go.

I took the pad Thai which tasted really bad and the meat was smelly. I also didn’t like the cocktail. For sure doesn’t recommend...

The place first of all is decorated so lovely. We all had different dishes. We started with the mango salad , salad with ginger dressing , tofu vegetable soup and dumplings. Everything was delicious with its own unique flavor. For main dishes two of us had options off the lunch menu. Tofu with the basil chili sauce, beef with the peanut sauce. The basil chili was amazing. Peanut sauce also good but the basil was the star. Off the regular menu we had of Thai with glass noodles and kuagao with chicken. The flavors were so unique and delicious. Service was wonderful.

We like Up Thai a lot, a very popular place. Reservations are essential and the place is small and a bit cramped. Service has always been efficient on previous visits, but this time it was super fast. Our appetizers came moments after we ordered them and the entree arrived before we had made much of a dent in the former. Obviously, they want to turn their tables, but this was brisk in the extreme. Nevertheless, the food is very good, especially the delicate chicken satay and the spicy basil krapraw with chicken. The UP spring rolls were a bit disappointing; somehow I had remembered them differently and probably wouldn’t order them again. Not a place to linger over your food, but the food can be delicious!

We were looking for asian food and we found this lovely restaurant. Excellent value. Definitly recommanded if you pass by Upper East Side.

Good Thai food served in a beautiful setting. There are plenty of Thai places on the Upper East Side and this is one of the better ones. Monday - Friday they have a great Lunch special. Soup or Salad an appetizer and a main course with rice for $14 - $16 depending on your protein. A great lunch special.

This was an amazing choice for dinner. The staff paged us once our table was ready and the food was amazing. There was nothing that we didn't enjoy and we had leftovers. The sticky rice for dessert was worth ordering. Leftover Pad Thai is amazing for breakfast the next day

We were in the area and yelped to find a place to get a late lunch. The lunch deal is amazing! Lovely tofu soup (or salad) and spring rolls followed by an entree. I picked the soup to warm myself on a cold afternoon and it was a great choice. My son ordered the salad and I tried a taste and the dressing was gingery and really good. I had the panang curry with rice and my son had the chicken satay platter. Both of us really enjoyed it. My curry was tofu but I wish I had asked for more vegetables instead. The veggie to tofu ratio was not to my liking. Moreover, it was pre-fried tofu microwaved with the inside being over-warmed. We went towards the end of lunch time and so we got seated rightaway. It is a tiny place and so I would advise timing your visit or preparing for a wait. But if we are in that part of town, we would love to go back. The lunch deal is especially great.

This place is always packed so a reservation is a good idea. The decor is cute and service very good. Food is typical Thai but done very well. There are selections for everyone with food both spicy and a bit more easily digestible for those who cannot tolerate the hot stuff. They do not get to the far reaches of hot so if that is what you desire, ask for the spicy sauces that they have available. Since many dishes can be done either vegetable or with tofu, a vegetarian or vegan can eat well here. There is a full bar available with beer and wine as well. Prices are mid range. This is worth a visit.

The food is average. We had the cashew nut lunch and pineapple chicken. One person had Kua Gai and loved it. The service was unforgiveably slow and I had to ask for things up to 3 times. We would not recommend although Google rates this as 4.8/5.

Arrived very hungry and were seated promptly. Food and service was amazing. Soft shell crab was to die for!

Delicious food, great service and good atmosphere! Best place we ate in in NYC .. would recommend the cashew dish and spring rolls

Yum yum yum! We came on a Thursday night and it was packed, so reservations are highly recommended. Cocktails were wonderful! Cool, casual atmosphere. We brought our own wine($15 corkage fee). Everything we ordered was excellent (fresh and fried rolls, satay, calamari, duck pad Thai, green curry beef, red curry chicken). Menu is quite extensive. Despite being so busy, service was perfect! Our server even a had the kitchen make a chicken with rice and veggies(with sauce on the side) for our picky daughter. We will return!

Great tasting dishes. Good lunch special that includes soup or salad an appetizer and the main entrees. Entree portions are smaller, but plenty big to satisfy.

This is one of the most popular Thai restaurants on the upper east side. The food is very good and reasonably priced. The drawback is that is is small and always crowded.

Stumbled across this gem while at the hospital for special surgery. My little patient loves Thai food, and we had a significant gap in treatment times, so we ventured out for a lunch. Up Thai is a small restaurant with a cool vibe. We took advantage of the lunch special and had probably the best massaman curry ever! My daughter keeps begging to go back. If ever in the area, we surely would return!

Excellent food and cozy atmosphere. They have an extensive menu with lots of great choices. We ordered three entrees between the two of us. Creative cocktail menu and great service! If you are vegetarian and love noodles, I recommend the Kae Mao. Delicious!

Place not very big and people waiting outside and many people arriving who ordered the takeaway and already this makes you understand. Small tables, generous portions and varied menu. Good food, in general it is a particular place to try. Acceptable bill in 2 with 3 beers and full exits: 120 bucks. By a Milanese milanist

Exotic and cozy atmosphere with excellent thai dishes and great service! Pad Thai is a must! Don't forget to try their cocktails!

Amazing Thai food in New York's Upper Eastside. Definitely worth the wait. You cannot go wrong with the pad Thai, and the chicken crepe appetizer was amazing, too!

Up Thai is easily one of the Upper East Side’s most interesting residers. The menu is a different breed of fusion and the cocktails are great.

heard about it through family, joined in wait list through Yelp app, so dd not have to wait, ambience is average, This place is very busy, drinks and food are average, not exceptional.service is very fast,we ordered curry puffs, cripsy calamari and spring rolls, for appetizers and they all pretty good, ordered andaman breeze and passion fruit cocktail, passion fruit one is not good , and andaman breeze is average.Red curry with duck is good, I asked waiter to make fried rice spicy, but it is not .

We went on a chilly Sunday night while on vacation, after reading recent reviews. It was packed, which surprised us given it was a Sunday night. Waited 35 minutes, but once we were seated it was apparent why there was a crowd. The food isn’t your typical Thai food, very varied and creative dishes make this a gem of a place. Unfortunately because of the small space seating is very tight, especially if your bundled against the cold. But this a small price to pay for a truly delicious meal. Highly recommend making reservations. We’ll be back on our next visit to the city.

Just found this little gem in New york. What a find food was fantastic and service was amazing. My friend and I had the $11 lunch special which was more than enough food . I had my favorite green thai curry and absolutely loved it. I would definitely recomend this restaurant to everyone visiting the big apple.

We were recommended to this Thai restaurant. We arrived on a busy weekday night and it was full. It was a very nice well decorated restaurant inside. The bathrooms were also very nice and clean. I don’t remember our servers name, but he was an African-American guy. He was very good and had us laughing all night. We tried a few different entrées and they were all very delicious. Our waiter made it even better. Sorry I didn’t remember his name. We will be back again!

We ate here both times we’ve visited NY. Once at the restaurant and the next time we did delivery. We’ve tried the red curry with chicken and pad Thai off of their lunch menu. So good great spice and very reasonably priced. The next time we had delivery. The papaya salad was crisp and the vinaigrette was a balance of sweet and tangy. The salmon Kiev warn was so good. It’s a green curry with great spice level, vegetables and perfectly cooked salmon. This was my fave along with the red curry. The beef cashew nut was a combination of stir fried veggies and peppers, cashews and beef in a brown sauce that paired really well with the pad Thai. The second time we ordered the pad Thai it wasn’t as good as the first but eating it with the beef cashew nut made it really good. Was impressed that food was still so good even delivered.

The venue was very pleasant, and the service was excellent. The Tom yum soup is authentic and the robata shrimp and the seafood are outstanding and plentiful. The wine list is short, but very well curated. The papaya salad is very refreshing and the fried calamari are crispy and flavourful. The service is very friendly and the atmosphere is lively. This was a great experience.

Wanted to try something different , so we went to Up Thai. There was a half hour wait. Everyone was friendly and service was very good. We had two different types of dumplings. One was very good the other not so good. We tried the tofu special appetizer which was fair. The chicken satay was good. For dinner Kathy had a chicken dish that was fair. Chris had a spicy chicken that was excellent. I had the ba mee. it came cold and wasn't great. The roast pork fried rice was excellent. Nice to try , not a repeater.

Great Thai food, with an excellent lunch special. The pad see ew was amazing. Prices are very good too

This is a great place- the atmosphere is terrific, service is fast and friendly- and the food is great tasting and reasonably priced!

Such a great meal. Tons of options. A variety of flavors. Everything was fresh. Nice decor. All around excellent spot.

A friend and I visited the Met Breuer Museum and wanted dinner afterwards. Up Thai is just a few avenues away, but worth the pleasant walk. The décor is wood, low lighting and pleasant hanging lanterns. The menu is typical thai, but not spicy. The wine list has several wines both by the glass and bottles at reasonable prices. Service is quick, but not rushed. Would definitely go back.

The Thai restaurant UPThai is located in a nice shop , that opens at 5 pm and serve fine fair price food

Birthday dinner for my husband as we visit NY. We both love Thai food & Up Thai was recommended by one of my colleagues. So glad that he did. It was simply awesome. The Thai puffs, satay, & the pad krapraw with shrimp was awesome. I had to stop myself from eating because it was SO DAMN GOOD! Highly recommend this restaurant if you want Thai in NY!

When our server finally arrived we ordered drinks and lunch together and did not have to wait for food long. The food was excellent!!! Small place, tables are close to one another but I supposed that's expected in NYC. Husband ordered pad Thai and I had the best green curry I've ever had. I practically slurped the bowl clean.

Up Thai Not a bad place to pick for another Thai eatery mission. Luckily we got there early, so we got a good table. We had Gunn, a good server. Of course, we had papaya salad to start. Papaya salad has been on my to-eat list whenever I visit a Thai restaurant. This place made a good one. I ordered red curry with shrimp, and my friend had green curry with vegetables. I loved my dish! The curry sauce was rich in flavor, not watery. I’m unsure whether the sauce came from a packet or homemade as I’ve been trying a few curry sauces at a few places, and some taste similar. This was thicker in flavor, and more herbs tasted in the curry. It was great! I tried the green curry, and that was great too. After we finished our dinner and were ready to step outside, the line was pretty long. Good thing we got here early for dinner. We enjoyed our dinner.

My son and wife recently become pescatarian So after long walk on manhattan we discover This nice Thai place and decided to try We ordered one green veg curry , stir fr veg and veg fr rice with couple of Jasmin rice and to give try black rice food was super and service was good if any one around this place please must try this cute up Thai restaurant

We discovered this restaurant just recently and so happy we did. We liked it so much and we definitely will come back. The staff is very friendly and polite. We came shortly after the opening time and the place got filled with customers right away. By the time we were leaving , people were waiting to get in there. The food was very very good, very fresh and tasty. And prices are reasonable.

Hubby and I stopped in after bar-hopping one day, and we got lucky to get a table. Apparently, you really should have reservations. However, they seated us and fed us, so it all worked out. The food was great. A little *ahem* upscale, so we felt somewhat under dressed, but after a couple of beers, neither one of us really cared. Tables are quite close together, so you need to be comfortable with practically sitting with strangers. Staff was efficient.

We hadn't booked a table but came for dinner around 8.30pm last night. The restaurant was very busy which is always a good sign. Quick and friendly service. I had Chicken Pad Krapow which was delicious and just spicy enough, decent portion too and rice is included. My husband had Red Thai Curry which he said was good too. Really great Thai restaurant.

It was amazing experience! The food is superb. My wife and I ordered 2 curry’s plates, one with meet and the other with chicken. We loved. Not too spicy but delicious.

Among a sea of choices, this thai restaurant stands out. The menu has a wide range of innovative and appealing dishes. We were first timers at the restaurant and despite a 30 minute wait, it was well worth it. The only small complaint was a very mediocre wine by the glass.....or at least I ordered the wrong one.

We decided to stop in and check out this restaurant on a whim while in the neighborhood. They were super busy, but we were seated quickly. We liked the atmosphere in the restaurant and the service was excellent. They have a good selection of unique drinks and we got an assortment of appetizers to share; enjoyed the crispy calamari, the Up spring rolls and the Thai herbed wings. The Thai iced tea is very unique.

Super tasty and very friendly staff! The atmosphere is great! A lovely refuge in the hectic city!

Showed up on a Friday night with no reservations but only waited 10 minutes. Fun, upbeat atmosphere, exceptional service and the food was incredible. Affordable as well. A great choice in the Upper East Side.

The menu is extensive. The service is good. Reservations are accepted. The setting is a tad confusing: outdoor tables at 1411; semi outdoor tables at 1407; indoor tables at both locations. We had summer rolls, two salads, pad Thai, and a pricy fish dish plus one extra rice. The total before tip but after tax was $90 something. I’d say if you’re in the neighborhood…

Our first time visiting but definitely not our last! We stopped in for an early lunch not knowing much about the place but were immediately impressed by the warm and soothing interior. The service was fast and pleasant but the food! Awesome! Fresh, flavorful and hot. We all raved about our meals and ate so fast that I don’t think any of us shared! Excellent food and service. We will definitely stop again.

Up Thai had some of the best Thai food I've ever had. We were a group of 4 and we've eaten our fair share of Thai food and we all said that Up Thai was at the top of our list if not the best Thai food we've eaten. The Chef special fried rice was amazing! It wasn't dry like other fried rice and had somewhat of a sauce on it that was SO good!! Next time I'm back in NYC I have to eat there!

We had excellent Thai dinner in this up town Thai restaurant. Food is good, the drinks are good and so is the atmosphere.

We had starters of fried calamari, satay chicken and Tom yum soup. All were pretty yummy. Then we had the sweet basil stir fry with pork, fried rice and green chicken curry. These were quite good too. Portions were large as per Aussie standards but not by American I would assume.

Came here with my partner for lunch- lunch special was $12 came with starter salad, appetiser and main. Service was attentive, location is great. Doesn't look like much from outside but the decor is beautiful inside. We ordered the salad, dumplings, spring rolls and the duck and pork belly main. All were incredible. One of the best meals we had whilst in NYC.

The food is great, fresh and of good taste. Compared to Europe it’s quite cheap and the waitresses are helpful and sweet.

Stopped in for lunch on a Saturday at around 1 and it was packed. Luckily, we waited maybe only about 15 minutes. The restaurant is a tight space since all the tables are packed kind of close together. We had a stroller with us and had to leave it up front. But we did get a corner booth, which was nice. To start, we had the Hoi Jor (deep fried tofu skin stuffed with ground pork, shrimp and crab meat, served with plum sauce). This was flavorful, and I liked the plum sauce it came with. There was also a good amount of filling. For my main, I went with the Pad Thai with tofu. I had initially asked for no egg so that my daughter (who's allergic to egg) could also eat some. Not less than a minute later, I asked the waiter if I could actually just have the egg on the side, and he said it was too late and that he already put in the order. Seems strange because 1. Did he really put in the order that quickly? 2. Couldn't they just cook an egg on the side? It's not like I had asked for an egg and then asked for it to be taken out. But no big deal. I do wish that they specified on the menu that the tofu would be fried tofu puffs, because I was expecting/wanting regular tofu. Other than that, the flavor of the pad thai was good - not too sour, and not too sweet, which can be a fine line. Hubby had the Up Thai Fried Rice Claypot (sea scallop, shrimp, chicken, Chinese sausage, onion, scallions, and shiitake mushrooms), and my sister had the Kao Soy (egg noodles, red onion, green apple, fried shallot, and pickled mustard greens in red coconut curry broth). I tried a bit of both. The rice was a little too salty. The broth from the kao soy was good. We all had a little bit of leftovers for the next day. UES is not usually a neighborhood I venture to, and the food wasn't good enough to make me go out of the way for it so I doubt I'll be back. But I'm glad we were able to find a last minute lunch spot with a relatively short wait.

After many occasions both dining in and taking out, I can say that Up Thai is a very reliable restaurant for a wide variety of occasions. Prices are reasonable and portions are plenty big. Highly recommended spot.

Three of us came here for lunch and were quite pleased. We had the green curry, red curry, and pad Thai - all of which were delicious. The service was prompt and friendly. And the decor is pleasant and welcoming. All in all - highly recommended.

I walked in to see many people waiting out the front to dine in. I was by myself so I quickly got a table at the bar. For people in a group, I’d strongly advise a reservation. Otherwise you probably will not find an available table in the evening. They have a fantastic bar with numerous drinks available, I ordered the massaman curry and it was absolutely beautiful. It was if I was eating it again in Thailand. I would strongly recommend this restaurant, just make sure to book ahead. It’s worth it.

What a pleasant surprise. Very friendly staff. Nice, clean interior. Excellent food. Fast, attentive service. I had the Up Thai Fried Rice Clay Pot. Chicken, shrimp and scallops is a sweet dark sauce over fried rice. The best clay pot I’ve had at any Thai Restaurant. You won’t be disappointed.

Came in from Connecticut and we wanted Thai. A quick search revealed Up Thai to be the highest rated Thai restaurants in the area, close to where we were staying. Arrived a little after 6pm on a Friday night to find the place already busy, but just in time to grab seats. I have nothing but praise for this establishment. SERVICE: They know how to get you seated, served, and satisfied - all staff pitches in to create an aware, thoughtful and attentive team, working with the pace established by the diner. SPACE: beautifully decorated, inviting atmosphere - even with a packed house, we could hear each other from across the table. Had to share our table with others, but it was large enough to accommodate us all without creating an awkward "too close" situation. FOOD: absolutely the best Thai we've EVER had. I had a mango/avocado salad with a unique spicy tamarind dressing - it was perfectly fresh, ripe and GONE. For dinner - Chicken Pad Thai (not very adventurous, but I felt a safe first order) and it was PERFECT; really fresh, great portion (enough for leftovers). Husband had the soft-shell crab salad, followed by the Shrimp Pad Se-ew. He loved it and we both wished we lived closer so we come back more often. This team is working hard to put out fresh, consistently great food. When we do come back, we're coming here.

Food is delicious always!! Long wait, but the food is really good. They do rush you so this is not the place to stay for a long time and it is loud. My family and I love eating here since the food is always fresh and very tasty.

Stopped in for lunch on a Saturday. $10 special included dumplings, salad and an entree. Very quick service and food was very good. Basil chicken and Thai fried rice were both very tasty. I’d definitely come back.

We were walking past and stopped by chance for lunch. It was delicious! Spicing levels right and served in an ambient setting. There was a good variety of dishes and everything we ate was really flavoursome.

Our wait was longer than expected (host told us 30-40 minutes and we weighted an hour), but once we were seated we enjoyed the atmosphere, food and service.

Had a wonderful vegetarian lunch. Penang Curry, vegetarian duck in basil sauce, and tofu in eggplant basil sauce. All of it was yummy and so was the summer roll. Would definetly go again.

I am a fan of Thai food and this place is delicious and great drinks. 100% recommended. The service is very good just make sure to make reservation it is always full.

Enjoy a nice drink then enjoy a great dinner. After 37 years of marriage a drink, a nice dinner & great company is all you need in life. Cheers

I went to this restaurant with some family and was very surprised (in a good way) by it. The food and drinks were delicious, I personally got some noodle soup and tea and they were both amazing. This place is one of the best Thai restaurants I have ever eaten at. Another upside to it was the staff, who were all very nice, as well as the service, which was great as well. While its not the most important thing to have in a restaurant, this place looked amazing, being greatly decorated and having an awesome atmosphere. If you’re looking for some delicious Thai food, I highly suggest that you check out this place!

The food here was great, especially the pad Thai, and the staff were very friendly. I did feel that the price was a little high for what I got, though

Not sure why there are so many great reviews. We stopped in for lunch. I got the Moo Dang. Just average, the Chinese sausage looked like Chinese sausage but didn't taste like it. My husband had sautéed chicken lunch special. He said it was flavorless, no spice at all. Definitely not something you'd expect from a Thai restaurant. The waiter said it was fusion, not Thai. Decor is nice, service fast, but I'll go elsewhere for real Thai food.

The place is newly opened but always busy. Best to reserve. Service is friendly and better than in some places. Food is delicious and non greasy. We had deep fried branzino fish, brown rice and some other fish (i cannot remember). All was delicious. Thoroughly enjoyed the evening.

Visited with a New Yorker that has been in the restaurant many times and claimed that it is always good , no glitches... It was a big challenge just looking at the biggest selection of Thai dishes that I have ever seen and making my choice. Service was friendly and knowledgeable and the food was very very good. Dishes are very generous and it really feels like eating in Thailand. most recommended!

I had walked by many, many times without stopping by, mostly because it looks like just another UES hole in the wall Thai restaurant. So last night I decided it was time to finally give it a try, glad I did! The place is actually big and very nicely decorated, the atmosphere is vibrant yet relaxing, making you feel as if you were in a country side stone house. You’ve got faux rustic brick walls, Persian lanterns, and plants hanging from the ceiling. Despite how that sounds, it actually manages to feel comfortable and borderline romantic (too bad it’s NYC and tables are way too close to each other almost rubbing elbows with your neighbors LOL!) Our waitress was on top of things never letting us run out of water or (God forbid) drinks!! I usually ask myself every time when at a Thai restaurant “Would I eat anything other than pad thai here?” and after a quick glance on the menu the answer was ABSOLUTELY! And believe me I did =] There’s a whole menu of dishes worth ordering, from curry puffs to crispy duck, and that’s what helps separate it from your typical hole in the wall Thai. Appetizer - Curry puffs Minced chicken, potatoes, onion and curry powder, served with sweet cucumber relish. Main - Massaman curry (GF) Potatoes, onion, avocado and peanuts, with coconut milk. *From Chef’s signature menu* Up Thai fried rice claypot Sea scallop, shrimp, chicken, Chinese sausage, onion, scallions and shiitake mushrooms. Verdict: food and service are excellent! We ordered everything to share. Definitely a place I would recommend!

Waitress has severe communication issue and problem recommending dishes. Food was not good. I'd go Thai Villa instead.

First visit of MANY more to come! Went there with 2 couples on a Friday night and was advised they don't take reservations at their busy times... quite understandable. We were told the wait was 20-30 mins, so we went for a drink at a cool bar two doors up 2nd Av. Exactly 20 mins. later we got a txt advising they were ready for us... and this is when the fun began! The place is busy yet not cramped or crowded. GREAT vibe from every table only adds to the fun décor. Service is QUICK - not intrusive! - and never rushed to get you out of there even on a super busy night. They serve the very best Curry Puffs I've ever had (and I order them EVERYWHERE!), fantastic Thai-Herbed Wings and Chive Dumplings, a Massaman Curry out of this world and an even better Pad Khing (Ginger Beef) but the winner - by our entire table - was the Slow-Cooked Chicken which made us wish we could take a bucket of their Thai gravy home. We didn't save room for dessert only because we kept ordering more food! In our humble opinion... this place is worth ANY wait time and is now an obligated stop for us on any adventure and with any group of people. You won't be disappointed!!!

Great Thai food and our regular place for Thai. Not the most authentic Thai but still great food nonetheless. Great decor/ambience and very good attentive service. Dishes aren't too spicy by default, so if you really want hot and spicy Thai, you'll need to ask for it hot. The mangosteen salad from summer seasonal menu, not available in our last visit, is a must try when available (hoping its coming back...) but the mango avocado salad is a great alternative in the mean time.

We were at UT last year and enjoyed our lunch meal and they got a 5. This time we had two set lunches. One Red Curry Chicken and Thai Fried Rice. We started with dumplings and salads. The salad was alright but the dumplings were very soft and weirdly bad. We skipped them. I ordered first a Pad Thai but cancelled it when I was informed that they could not serve the traditional added sugar at the side as the sauce? was pre-made! There is really no sauce served with Pad Thai and in Thailand the sugar is served at the side of the dish. The Red Chicken Curry sauce was filled with sugar and we were informed that all was pre-made!! Sometimes Thai food in Thailand is served with sugar but not as much as at Up Thai. It is also possible to request less sugar and/or the sugar on the side. We have never been served sugary filled Red Chicken Curry ever! The Thai Fried Rice was acceptable but not more. This was one of the worst Thai lunches we have ever had and will not come back for quite sometime as there are much better Thai restaurants in New York. Positive was as last year that could serve Pit-Chi Fa. (Sliced Spicy Spanish Pepper).

I enjoy Thai food and was looking forward to eating here given the Tripadvisor rating. My friend and I visited here for the first time. we both agreed the Tom Kha Soup was excellent (5 stars). I ordered spring rolls which were good, but a bit too greasy (I somehow had summer rolls on the brain). My friend had a crab vermicelli. He expected it to be mixed in. Instead the crab was served on top of the vermicelli. He was disappointed. Highly recommend the Tom Kha soup.

I love Thai food and this restaurant is by far my favorite Thai in NYC. The food and decor and service are all great. Recommended.

Decided to visit based on Trip Advisor listing and we were not disappoonted. It’s a small restaurant in the upper east side. It is nicely decorated with wood, greenery and beautiful lamps. The staff is curteous and willing to please customers. Had a great lunch!

Very good Thai food. Everything I tried was yummy. Long wait for a table, so I order take out. Good service once you get a seat.

Friends recommended Up Thai when I was next visiting NYC. This delightful gem is located on 2nd Ave between 73rd and 74th Streets in an area of a number of small restaurants. The façade is small and discreet, but inside, it opens to an exquisitely decorated, quaint eating establishment. The staff and decor present an unmistakable Thai culture. It bustles with activity and gives you that feeling that you have happened upon something very special and unique, even by New York standards. The food was superb with a wide assortment of Thai dishes at modest prices. We purchased two of the specials (one recommended by the server) that were nothing short of spectacular. My partner, looking at me after the meal with a big smile exclaimed "what a find!" I absolutely agree. If you enjoy Thai cuisine or just want to try it out, you can't go wrong dining at Up Thai. It has it all; friendly service, great food and an inviting atmosphere. We will be visiting Up Thai again on our next visit to New York.

I have found this restaurant occasionally. It was pretty good.Fast service, cool and big portions.Good value for lunch!

Great Thai food excellent service. Best Thai restaurant Ive been to and I love Asian food and have tried many. I had a seafood with noodles that exceeded by expectations. Most restaurants something like this is good but here it was extraordinary

Has gluten free options! A bit pricey but it was a good standard thai in a good location in the upper east side.

Staff were attentive and food (especially the soup) was excellent. I was, however, disappointed that the on-line menu offerings did not match the menu given at the restaurant; several tempting items that were listed on-line were not offered. Also be aware that tables are packed closely together and the overall noise level in the restaurant was high. The general din, coupled with loud-voiced diners at neighboring tables, made conversation difficult. It was quieter way in the back, but odd odors emanated from the adjacent kitchen. If you just want to eat good Thai food, go for it, but if you want to converse with friends at dinner, this is not the optimal dining spot.

Up Thai is beautifully decorated and clean. The lunch specials are a great value. I ordered the massaman curry and it was outstanding. Service was fantastic. I'm wishing I was back there right now eating their delicious food!

My wife saw reveles and they had good pad se www. I love it, so she took me there. I had to say it was the best i had in NYC. The people working there are a litltle dude. We were told that we could stay 1.t hr, which was fine with us, but they try to rush you. Calamari was great. Rolls were k, but pas see we was truly amazing. We will be back-

Took our son and GF here as a change to pizza / Mexican. What a lovely place - great staff, nice ambience, good value (for NYC) and very tasty food (green curry was terrific / hot). Would go again.

We visited this restaurant twice in 4 days as we loves it so much. Not only is the service friendly and fast, the food is outstanding. All the curry’s were good as were the noodle dishes.

Been on different Thai Food places but this is one of the best I had so far. Ordered Panang Curry, Pad Krapraw and Pad Se-Ew...Delicious!! Panang Curry is THE BEST!! Perfect and so tasty. Service is quick and friendly staff. Recommended to visit when in town. 😊

We have been here many times over the past few years, and have never had anything but amazing food, fabulous service, and lovely drinks. Last month on a particularly busy night I lost the tie to my coat - they took our number, and when they found it the next day, called so I could pick it up. Given that they are consistently packed with people waiting out the door on even the coldest night, I was impressed with their level of customer service. Great place.

Met some colleagues for a NYC lunch and was impressed. The initial wait was a bit long but worth it in the end. The food was quite good and the service was quick and efficient. The Lunch Specials are quite varied and a great deal in the city.

Great Service! Clean Bathrooms! Amazing Food!!!! Highly recommend their cocktails - grey goose martini, shaken with a twist of lemon handled perfectly.

One of the best Thai restaurants in NYC. It’s known for consistently having delicious, fresh Thai food. Every time I come to NYC, I always try to go to Up Thai. There’s usually a wait but you could also call ahead or make a reservation in advance. There’s a small waiting area in the front and there’s only indoor seating. The food is the star of the show, and I’d recommend coming in for lunch to avail of the lunch specials (only around $13!). I had a pork dish with this gravy on top of a mound of white rice that was accompanied by vegetable soup and two pieces of a chive pancake. The pancake was cold but the soup was warm and comforting. My favorite part was the Chinese sausage (and I’m not usually a fan of Chinese sausage). If you’re in the mood for something special, the clay pot fried rice is to die for. Note that there’s seafood and it’s such a warm, wholesome meal. There’s also alcoholic Thai tea and other cocktails. This is a good spot for a date night or to hang with a small group of friends. The decor is really nice. There’s a bathroom on the main level as well as additional ones down the stairs. The service is friendly and they take away your plates very quickly. Overall it’s a nice restaurant with delicious food options and great lunch specials.

We loved the atmosphere of this restaurant and the food was delicious! We walked here from Central Park and the staff was very accommodating. I think everything on the menu is good because we all got something different and everyone loved what they got.

Wow, the food here is good. We had to wait a while to get a seat but it was more than worth it. For an appetizer we had the pork buns and they were really good throughout and it was presented nicely. For my main entree I had a duck dish (Unfortunately I forgot the name of it- all I remember is that it was a crispy deboned duck breast and a Chef's Signature entree). While I had never tried duck before that time (Probably not a good idea for next time) I can confidently say that this dish made me like it. It tasted absolutely FANTASTIC and was what I was exactly in the mood for- something spicy, somewhat sweet, and VERY savory/ flavorful. Next time I'm in New York I know where I'm going right away...

A Papaya salad that actually functions as a salad, cocktails that I've never seen before, out of the ordinary entreés and good service

Loved the place...as it was packed and I didn’t have a reservation sat at the bar. Service was excellent. Thai beer on tap a pleasant surprise. Went with spicy pork appetizer and crispy duck with Thai rice. Flavorful...

've visited twice. This place is always packed. They don't take reservations, so you have to get there before the crowds or you will have to wait. They put you on a list and call out your name when a table is available. Once seated, the service is quick. I ordered steamed dumplings, pineapple vegetable fried rice and the dry cider. Everything was yummy. The atmosphere is appealing. The decor is beautiful. It can be very loud and the tables are super close to each other. You can actually hear your neighbor's convo. You should definitely give Up Thai a try if you're looking for yummy Thai food in NYC.

This place is always busy. But its busy for a very good reason. It offers well prepared Thai food at very affordable prices. If you plan to go on a weekend night, plan to get there early or risk a bit of a wait for a table. Once you are seated, its a very good experience. The service is organized and professional. Try the Up Thai specials such as the Up Spring Rolls and the chef signature dishes such as Similan curry and Thai Bouillabaisse. There is a full bar offering a range of specialty cocktails and, of course, Thai beer.

The best Thai meal we have had in some time. All of lunch dishes had very nice presentations and tasted great.

We are looking for good Thai restaurants since we were a bit disappointed last week in Astoria. We ordered two different lunch menus and shared. Red shrimp curry and Chicken Basil as the entrees. Both tasted very delicious and were spicy which we love. I ordered also Pitchifa and got what I wanted and spiced up the meal a bit further. Maybe we should go there for dinner as well to try them out. For the lunch served they get a five. Service was also good.

What a bad experience. Rude staff (especially the lady at the entrance ), enormous portions of sad food (greasy tasteless calmari, greasy rolls, the worse egg noodles I ever tasted, the pork chops were not cooked enough, the sticky rice was really gross). I left everything. I have been to Thailand and never had anything like it even in the most unassuming little place. The noise was such that one couldn’t speak. The silver lining was that service was fast so we could get out in an hour.

There was an hour line up on Saturday night, but we went to central park during the wait. The food itself was delicious had the pad Thai and panang curry, good servings. Ambience was great as well.

The food was okay, but I was expecting spectacular after reading other reviews. My curry was more of a soup than something you could put over rice and my husband, who has a hearing problem couldn't hear very well due to the acoustics. They wouldn't give our table separate checks for each separate diner in the party (we wanted to have one bill for myself and my husband and each of the single guys which there were 2 in our party, was going to pay for their own, so we had to split it in half. They did get us right in and seated us. They were prompt and regular with water refills and the food came in a timely manner. It is a bit on the pricey side, but that's NY city for you. So, it wasn't a bad experience, just not what we were expecting.

We took a class to NY to explore photography in museums and happened upon a great restaurant not too far from the Met Breuer: Up Thai. We started with their signature cocktails, an Up Martini and Thai Sour, which were great and different, then Spring rolls, crispy and not greasy, and an Avocado Mango Salad with a nice spicy punch. Chicken, steamed veggies and coconut sticky rice was beautifully spiced and my partner's duck was slightly crispy with a luscious sauce. We ended with the fried banana and ice cream. A truly great meal.

Exceeded my expectations. The only thing I was bummed about was that the Mango Sticky Rice was not available, as it's seasonal. Next trip!

Let's get the good stuff out of the way first. Service was excellent, the decor and general ambiance were pleasant, and the prices were reasonable by NYC standards: dinner for two, with two courses, plus wine, came to just under $100. So why only 'average'? The food. I am no expert on Thai food, but every other Thai restaurant we've been to has served spicy, tasty dishes. And that includes our locals, out in the Burbs. Up Thai seems to have taken another route. I started with crab cakes, which turned up served on a bed of various greens (including asparagus, for some reason). My wife had Chicken Satay, a dish that she usually enjoys. The crab cakes were OK, but rather bland. My wife was disappointed with the Satay - the texture of the chicken was, er, worrying, and having peanut dipping sauce, rather than the usual marinade, was strange. She wondered if the chicken had been cooked enough. We both had a cod dish. Can't remember the name. But here we find the problem. Whatever the name of the dish, it was basically braised cod, in a coconut sauce, with little or no spices, and far too much sweetness. Having looked at some other unfavorable reviews, I regret that I must agree with them: up the spices, and lose the sweetness.

I visited Up Thai on the recommendation of my sister, who lives in the area. We ordered appetizers and main courses, of which the Dumplings (unlike anything I've had in Thailand) were excellent and my Green Thai Curry was superb (tasted authentic, with maybe a little less bamboo shoots than normal). The service was very good, however our high table - on the entrance side of the bar only had bar stools for seats and was a little crowded. I recommend sitting in the rear of the restaurant. We ate early, around 6 pm, and had to wait 15 minutes for a table. In my opinion, if you're looking for Thai food on the Upper East Side you can't go wrong here.

I love Thai, and will always seek out good Thai food wherever I am. Yesterday I was with a friend in-the-know who took me to Up Thai for a quick lunch and I was delighted. The restaurant has lunch specials, mainly for people working in the area, so the food arrives fast, is well portioned and absolutely delicious. And the atmosphere is charming; a blend of contemporary and traditional. The super efficient staff are also on top of everything. We had the lunch special; 2 courses for around $10 each. I can't wait to go back there.

All what I can say it is so yummy all the dishes were perfect, this is one of the restaurant I had zero bad comments 👍🏻

Great food and cocktails. We had no reservation, waited about 30 minutes - had a drink next door to pass the time. Food is fresh and delish, really enjoyed the vibe and left very very full.

I came here with some of my friends on a Saturday night. The food was amazing – lots of vegetarian options too – and my overall experience was great. The restaurant was decorated beautifully, and the food came out in a timely manner. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to both families and larger groups.

Their food is excellent here. I think it's definitely well priced considering the location. I've been here multiple times and have tried various dishes. The best bang for your buck is definitely to come here for lunch time. I recommend the massaman curry and moo dang. For dessert, highly recommend the black sticky rice. Their lychee martini is great! Overall, great service, food, and decor. A great date place too.

Our co-op is a few blocks away and we had passed by but it was always much too busy to get in. This time hadn't had lunch and decided to have an early dinner and used the app to put our name on the list for a table. Even at 6:15 pm there was a short wait but having visited I can appreciate why it is so busy. We started with the spring rolls and a special seafood pancake that was more of a casserole in a cast iron skillet. Both were great. Then we split the noodles with crab, tamarind duck and pork belly with Chinese broccoli all of which were tasty especially the noodles although the duck was a bit dry. We ordered too much food but the leftovers we took home won't go to waste. It is also a very attractive place with lanterns that look like jewels and good service.

Not wanting to go to one of the overly expensive restaurants on the East Side, we decided to try an ethnic restaurant, and fond memories from the superb food in Thailand pushed us to try Up Thai. The place is very popular, full with a queue of hopefuls waiting to be accepted. Two of us came for dinner and ordered three dishes. Soft shell crabs, pork red curry and roasted duck with vegetables. The soft shell crabs had too much frying taste, but were OK. The roasted duck was over roasted, but not un-tasty. The pork red curry was the best dish, with coconut milk and good flavors. Not a great meal, but pretty good, and together with beer an tip for 50 bucks each is considered inexpensive in this crazy city. The superb 2 dollars meals coming from the boiling cauldrons of the old hags on the streets of Bangkok will be relegated to memories for the time being.

One of the best Thai restaurants my wife and I have ever eaten in! Extensive menu of items all done incredibly well! Highly recommend the spring rolls and curry and noodle bowl dishes.

We went for lunch, everything was great, particularly good was the Crab Fried Rice. Place was packed on Sunday afternoon, reservations recommended. Good service, nice décor, we will be back.

Beautiful welcoming place. Interiors is well done. Service was friendly and staff very polite. No pressure to order. loved the seafood coconut curry. Simply amazing. really enjoyed the flavors and spice level. Very satisfactory dinner

Service is terrific and helpful in understanding their expansive menu. Growing up in Calcutta I was exposed to Burmese and Thai food so I ordered their Kao Soy and it’s filled with so many ingredients, just like home! The rich coconut curry is balanced by the lemon juice and pickled mustard. The egg noodles are provided soft and crispy, another fantasy touch. Finally their pork belly dishes are all outstanding as well and we favored the crispy version.

We ate here tonight. Very pleased we did. The food was authentic and full of flavour. Big portions and heaps of flavour. So glad we came here.

Stopped into this place for dinner with a few friends last Friday and was really happy with the experience. We arrived at 6:45 and our party of 3 was seated right away at the communal table, although it soon got way more crowded so you may want to make a reservation if you want to eat at a peak time. Tried the spring rolls, shrimp soup, and the chicken kua gai noodles. They were all really fantastic. Don't forget to ask for the hot sauce options because the spice rack has some really unique flavors on it. I don't eat Thai food much because I never end up liking it as much as I think I will, but this place was everything I wanted and more. The portion sizes looked small in the photos I saw online, but I did not find this to be the case in person. There were tons of noodles on the plate, I had enough for dinner and leftovers (which were just as good reheated as they were at the restaurant!). Service was fast and friendly and the atmosphere is really cool. Definitely will be returning!

This was a positive food experience. Up Thai is definitely worth a visit. It will be full soon, so we recommend reserving tables in advance. Very pleasant service who was attentive along the way. The food was great! We ate spring rolls for the main course and red curry with chicken as the main course. The curry was quite strong compared to the curry we have eaten in Norway, so kept in lots to order mild. Our daughter ate noodles with chicken. It was also very good. The room has a very pleasant atmosphere but a little noisy at the end when the restaurant was almost full. The portions were large, so it had kept with the main course. What we didn't eat we took with us in take-away cups. We will definitely return!

Beautifully decorated, unique Thai restaurant in the Upper East Side. Very clean, has a bar, colorful lamps, and comfortable seating. The food was delicious! I came here for lunch with my family and the prices were very reasonable. The lunch specials are a good amount of food plus an appetizer all for around $10. Nice staff too! Can’t wait to come back.

Great lunch, had multiple tofu and vegetable dishes and they were all excellent. Reco the chive pancakes and a noodle dish.

We had dinner here and will definitely be back. The food was served promptly and temperature perfect. The interior of this restaurant is super appealing with brick and wood walls. Community style dining contributes to a very hygge atmosphere! A must do on your next NYC visit.

Went there today with my children to pick up an order and the server, KAE, with whom I spoke to over the phone to place my order PURPOSELY did not give me everything I purchased. This was no mistake. This happen to me months early with the same server, KAE. Months early, when I noticed the wrong items in the bag I immediately came back and KAE GRABBED MY ARM and walked me where my "real" order was. I was shocked that she grabbed my arm so violently. When I came in today to pick up my food; KAE had my food bagged up on the FLOOR WHILE PEOPLE WALKED PASTED IT !!! That is a violation which I am reporting. And she had a very rude demeanor. KAE never greeted me and nor talked to me like she did with the fellow consumers that were there. When I arrived home the order was missing TWO items from the menu. That was INTENTIONAL and I am contacting my bank for THEFT. Today, I contacted the UP THAI establishment regarding the missing items and she answered and placed me on hold three times. YOU ARE REPORTED.

Up Thai is great. The penang curry is my personal favorite. The restaurant is in a great location and has nice ambiance. Love the food and would return.

The restaurant opens for dinner at 5, and by 5:30 it is filled, and for good reason. Excellent service, very good food. We had Tom ka Gai, as good as we have had anywhere, and I had chicken in Panang curry. I did not specify seasoning, and it came perfectly seasoned, flavorful, but not burning hot. If you request it, they can alter the spiciness, or give you some heat "on the side." Nice choice of wines, although a glass of white is 12 to 14 dollars. The dumplings were exceptionally light and flavorful. Certainly a far above average Thai restaurant in an area that is loaded with them.

Yummmm very thing we ordered was so fresh and delicious! The pad Thai with chicken, spring rolls and even a cocktail to go were amazing!

We really enjoyed our lunch here. The lunch menu includes a soup or salad, an appetizer and an entree. We are vegan and were happy to see the options available to us. The meal was quite good and served quickly. We enjoyed the spring rolls and the pad thai with tofu which they made without eggs for us. The only recommendation is that the wait staff speak more loudly especially when they are wearing masks.

Title says it all- was good until I started to see feathers on my dish- for a high end Thai place this is inexcusable

I heard this place was suppose to be good.......it was subpar from the service to the food. My spring rolls were so oily and my waiter I could barley find and I felt as though I was in a fast food restaurant.....what a bummer.....

Food is great, I had their shrimp pad thai and their spring rolls. Their spring rolls were alright, small. The shrimp pad thai tastes alright, a little too salty for me. Had their iced jasmine green tea, really good! But overall their service was great.

This yummy Thai restaurant has a great buzzy ambiance... the food is delicious and prices quite reasonable. Try the crab cake salad or green curry. Beware it’s super duper spicy.

Up Thai is fantastic. I first came here a couple of years ago and wasn't too enamored with the Pad Thai I had, which I found too mushy and orange and not that tasty, but have since been back several times. The food is fantastic - I've had the chicken satay and Pad see ew, both of which are great, and the service is fast and friendly. I really like their lunch special, which includes an appetizer and small soup or salad. I definitely recommend this place and look forward to coming here again.

We just walked in on a Wednesday evening and told there were no tables for half an hour . As we turned to go they said we could sit at the bar - which we did. This was indeed a very cheerful and comfortable place to sit. It also provided us with some "cocktail theatre". We shared the crab cake which was delicious. My companion had the Salmon and I had the Thai Green Curry. Both were very good. This was accompanied by a tasty bottle of Sauvignon Blanc. A great atmosphere but not so noisy you could not hear yourself (we had a lot to catch up on!)

Went here for a Friday night dinner for 2 in April. Our table was right next to another 2 person table but separated by a large piece of plexiglass. Not sure if that is a leftover from Covid or just a way for them to seat more people, probably the latter. Food was very good as was the service. Recommend this place if you are in the mood for Thai food

We came here on a whim in a our last night in New York after hearing very good things. The restaurant was packed full, but we were very lucky to get a table for two (later when we left the queue was out of the door). The restaurant is incredibly popular with locals and rightly so. It has an amazing atmosphere, and the staff are so so friendly and kind. It was by far the best service we had experienced whilst in NY. The food is incredible, and very quickly served (even with a full restaurant). There’s lots to choose from and a wide variety even for vegans and vegetarians, all freshly made and plenty for those who aren’t a fan of spicy food. The only thing I would say is that it can get quite loud, and the tables are quite close together; it didn’t bother us personally but just something to think about if this isn’t your thing. I would highly recommend Up Thai!

The food was excellent however our bottle of wine kept disappearing. Each time the waitress said it had finished but we were certain it hadn't.

This yummy Thai restaurant has a really delicious food is delicious and prices are great value for money. Try the green curry. Great buzzy ambiance and amazing service. 100% recommended. Spot on.

We ate dinner here in January and it was cold outside. The atmosphere in Up Thai was warm and friendly Nice decor and friendly employees was just what we needed as visitors to the city. The food was delicious and they offered to make it mild, medium or hot. Great place to eat and great prices too!

Wanted to have Thai food so we chose this restaurant on 2nd Avenue and were pleased with the food and the service. We ordered the Vegetable Spring Rolls as appetizers and were good. Then we had the Pad Thai and the eggplant basil- both delicious. At first we thought it was going to be too much food, since we always share all our dishes, but we ate it all and were very pleased. Whenever we crave for Thai food, we will go back and try other dishes on the menu.

The food was spectacular, the place is beautiful and the service is great! Good prices too! We liked it so much we came back two days later.

I love this spot. I come here every time I come to NYC (even though it’s in the Upper East Side). The restaurant is intimate and has elevated Thai dishes as well as classic dishes. The claypot fried rice is a particular favorite - it comes with a generous amount of barbecued Chinese sausage, shrimp, and chicken all in the aforementioned clay pot. My boyfriend got the pad see ew with beef, and it was a generous serving. We split a pot of hot BlueFly tea, which has a strong lemongrass flavor and is a vibrant cerulean color. The service is quick and friendly. Credit cards accepted. You can make reservations online in advance.

The place was crowded on a Tuesday at 1:30pm. We did not have a reservation. We were delighted that we were able to be seated. The servers were all great. The decor was lovely (I especially loved the hanging lamps). The food was just so delicious! Portions were great and the price was right. I loved the vegetarian options. I'd go back in a heartbeat!

Comfortable place. Staff is super friendly. Menu is extensive. And yes ,THEY HAVE GINGER BEER 😀 My meal was perfect in every way, and very reasonably priced. Definitely will return again, this place is a real gem!

We live right up from Up Thai and it has never dissapointed us. Always great food with great prices, Take out is great too mostly.

It was Saturday night and we did not have any reservations. We waited for a table for 30 to 40 minutes but it was well worth it. We had the soft-shell crab appetizer. It was amazing - the crispy deep fried soft-shell crab was placed on a bed of greens baby tomatoes and peanuts and a light dressing of fish sauce. For the entrees, we had the Up Thai Fried Rice Claypot which was a Thai version of paella and the Duck Tamarind. Both were excellent and we left fully satisfied.

Up Thai is a hot! So very popular you must have a reservation unless you like to wait. Food is delicious and we've now dined there twice in one week. Love the UP spring rolls with shrimp & crab and the pad krapraw. Green curry and vermicelli with ginger also very good. BUT, don't expect a quiet meal. The bar is popular, the space is crammed with tables, and it's just plain noisy!

Im a picky seafood pad Thai person, and they really nailed it here. It was actually amazing! I cannot wait to try more things. If things stay this good, they will get 5 stars.

Excellent Thai food...you can taste Bangkok in every sauce. I had the branzino, big portion and enough for a lovely lunch the next day.

Fantastic ambiance and tasty food. I enjoyed the Thai fried rice, dumplings, and noodles. It was delicious. The inside is nicely decorated as well.

Our visit was for dinner on a Saturday night. I was impressed by how speedy and efficient everything was on such a busy night. We ordered chicken wings, dumplings, and some over rice dishes. Everything was delicious. If you like duck, do it!

We were looking for a Thai spot with a good vibe and good food and Up Thai was exactly that. It was bustling when we arrived but the service was great and the meal delicious plus even thought it was packed it felt "lively" not "crowded". We will be back next time we're in NYC.

The food here is very good and delicious, staff are very nice, polite and friendly great atmosphere, prices on the menu are very reasonable

You’re looking for a good clean location, you prefer a local place. You love Thai but not typical or fast food Thai. What a wonderfully Delicious Surprise Up Thai was. Great atmosphere, great service & the Food was Fantastic!!!! Thank you Up Thai!!!!

Went here twice on our trip to NYC. Pad see ew was fantastic. Pad thai and curry were pretty good. Up Thai spring rolls were really good. Overall a great experience. Neat space off 2nd Ave. No wait for either suppers but a good crowd both times.
Great food!
Wow! Make sure that you are on time if you plan to go during the weekend, as the wait can be quite long, but the food is absolutely great. My wife had the red curry, I had the green curry, both were amazing.
