Sotto 13 was the perfect partner for a baby shower. The room was nicely decorated, spacious, and well lit. The acoustics were perfect, easy to hear each other. The brunch was presented family style, so each person could choose what they wanted from the main and side dishes, which were scrumptious. I loved the avocado toast. Most importantly, Rich was a delight to work with.

This is a great place! Food great and some real interesting choices! Service was wonderful and helpful on choices. There is a real buzz going on! Make sure you make reservations and don't miss this place!

Good choice of high quality Italian food. Although vegetarian choices were few, I found the flavours packed into the pasta dish second to none and there are pizza choices too. Great wine and tiramisu.

Don't think you're going to find a better place to sit and relax than this one. Our server was great, and the food was even better! Best part is the all you can drink Prosecco (get the DIY Prosecco bar), mimosas, bellini's and other brunch booze. On a quiet street and outdoor seating, go there!

Great place for appetizer and drinks. The drinks and food is great and the service is great. I love sitting in the bar area because of the interesting bartendrers. They have an outdoor space. They have a food and drink happy hour M-F until 7:30. I love their Sausage Fennel pizza and their Rice ball appetizer. It slow at first but gets a little more lively around 8pm.

Gorgeous, cosy neighborhood restaurant on the edge of Greenwich Village with delicious Italian food, lively buzz on Halloween night and friendly staff. The linguine clams were delicious - pizza, steak and veal ragu all got the thumbs up from family (incl. two teens). Tiramisu was promised for sharing at the table but was actually devoured by one of the party - delicious from the one spoon I got!

I really enjoyed the food and the staff! Everyone was super amazing and I would definitely for sure go back! Request waiter Alex he was truly amazing!

I have been to Sotto 13 several times, for happy hour, dinner, and most recently brunch. Their pizza is probably one of the best I have had, specifically their truffle pizza. The oven is located in the dining room, and adds to the beautiful décor of this place. Brunch was well worth writing about, and I brought out of town friends here to start a private cocktail tour we had set up. Service is outstanding, and the waitress explained the menu, which is written a little confusing. However the entire table participated in the brunch, which included a multitude of dishes, as well as several pizzas for the table. We ended up with bottles of champagne, which also come with a "create your own" drink station. A wide variety of fruits, flavors and syrups for creating the perfect cocktail! The food was generously portioned, and for five of us we left feeling very full and satisfied. I honestly wasn't interested in anything except the pizza, and I would go just for that. The space itself is beautiful. There is a skylight in the middle of the dining room (watch during brunch however, because if the sun is shining it can beat down on the table.) During the summer they have a lovely little outdoor area, and because it is down a relatively quiet street, the outdoor area isnt quite as busy as it would be on a main street. They do a great sangria, and have an extensive wine list as well. Definitely worth a visit!

Near the Whitney Museum this small gem of a restaurant is a must. Very good food and cocktails at reasonable prices by New York standards. Staff was super friendly and accommodating.

Came here for dinner on a Wednesday night with co-workers. We were very pleasantly surprised with the atmosphere of the restaurant, it was very charming. All the food was delicious - from the octopus and meatball appetizers to all of our pasta dishes - and the service was outstanding! We had a four hour meal and basically closed down the place and not once were we rushed or made to feel like we had to hurry up and leave. it was also super affordable - would highly recommend!

My husband and I were in NYC for a weekend of shows, shopping and dining. A colleague told me about Sotto 13 so I booked online. We arrived early for an early reservation (had a Broadway show at 8). It was easy to find using Google Maps. It is located in the village on a cute street, close to the subway. When we arrived, we were seated at the bar because they had just opened. Friendly bar staff and provided a complimentary drink because we had to 'wait' - it wasn't much of a wait and quite enjoyable. The ambiance is wonderful and the service and food was excellent! Prices for NYC were agreeable, especially where the food was sooooo good. We had a salad, entree and dessert. Fresh and inviting for each plate! The manager/owner popped over to say hello, which I find is always a nice touch. We'd definitely go again on our next trip!

Went here for my birthday dinner last night and it was good. Might get crowded and loud during happy hour at the bar. But the dining area was quiet and nice. We were a big party so we were in the center of the dining area under the skylight. Beautiful ambience. Food was good. The carbonara was awesome. Server was nice.

Happened upon this place enroute from the Whitney Museum to the Subway. Shady relatively quiet street made for a lovely al fresco Brunch experience. Friendly, efficient service brought delicious interesting food. If you're in the Village, find it to make your taste buds happy.

Great little place - just found this place on a trip to NYC with my teenage family - fantastic pizzas possibly the best we ever had (and we have eaten many pizzas!)

5 of us dining....first had Happy Hour cocktails at their bar. Yummy cocktails, good wine. Our bartender, Justine, was the BEST!!! So friendly and happy. She also made great cocktails. Next to dinner. Most of us ordered pasta....all were very good. had 2 pizzas.....everything was perfect. great service!

My wife and I visited prior to seeing a show. We arrived a bit before our 5 pm reservation and needed to wait until the private party was over. We started with a bottle of Malbec and proceeded to order an appetizer. The Stracciatella is a soft mozz style cheese drizzled with olive oil and spice. There's more cheese than bread unfortunately or maybe fortunately otherwise we may have eaten all of it. It was good, but subtle. Maybe a cross between mozzarella and ricotta. We realized that Sotto is better known for their pizza, but I wanted to try a main dish which was Carbonara Pasta. The homemade pasta came with a garlic/herb sauce and prosciutto style bacon. Not a very large portion. My wife had the Margherita Pizza which she claimed was excellent and enough for 2 people. The atmosphere is quaint. We probably should have eaten at the bar which was running a half price pizza and wine special. Bathrooms were clean and only seats 1.

Saturday brunch seems to be less crowded than Sundays. We had a group of 9 and spent 2.5 hours at the table. Food and service was great. Definitely try the sausage & egg pizza and french toast.

I discovered this place through Instagram. Had pretty much no expectations when we arrived. Being the carbonara lover that I am, I order one and we also had a pizza (can't recall the name but it had a cold meat similar to canadian bacon). The pasta was amazing, top 3 carbonaras if not top 1, flavorful, generous portion that is well worth its price. The pizza was also very good. Overall, cool place, great food, not too expensive and quite memorable for all the good reasons

It's à nice place, good atmosphere, good service The pastas Were good, a little bit spicy but it's too small, really !!!! Don't be too hungry if you go there

From Giseppe welcoming you at the door, the experience at Sotto 13 is welcoming, comfortable, authentically delicious that has you feeling like you're having an evening in Italy vs NYC. We'll definitely be back because there were at least 10 items on the menu we were debating between. Highly recommend the Goat Cheese Beet Appetizer, and the pasta was buonissimo, we had the orrechiette with broccoli rabe & sausage!

Fantastic little restaurant. Traditional Italian staples of pizza and pasta done excellently and for a reasonable price. Cocktails not too shabby too.

2nd of 3 nights in NYC, staying at the Walker. Decided to dine close to the hotel before heading out for a show. Arrived for our 5:45 reservation and advised our server, Olga, we had to get to a show for 8PM. Everything was timed to perfection. We had the prix fixe for two which may not sound like a lot, or even seem like a lot as you order it, but let me assure you... it is a lot. We had arugula salad, arancinci and marguerite pizza to start. This was followed by three pastas... sorry guys, it was so much pasta, I can't list them all but the cannelloni was out of this world! Olga and the the service team were friendly and highly professional and made sure that, while we enjoyed our dining experience, we were out of there with time enough to make our show. A truly memorable dinner at an unbelievable value - our final bill was $111 which included a couple of cocktails and wine! Please just make the rezzo. You're welcome.

For $25, unlimited brunch drinks and either a small pizza or 2 tapas and 1 side dish. Good food, service was great and it wasn't crowded (not sure why- but that definitely added to the experience).

Lovely place, tucked away on a residential street. Wait staff was very nice. We had pizza and pasta. Food was good!

We stopped in here on a thursday night. There was only one other table in the restaurant, so we figured we would have good service and a nice meal. The atmosphere is ok in the restaurant but the music was really loud and there were about 7 wait staff milling around with nothing to do. We ordered starters and pizza along with a glass of wine for myself and a beer for my partner. His beer came out immediately and then 15 minutes later I got my glass of wine - not a good start. The appetizers were average and the service continued to be slow to non-existant. It felt like we were intruding on the staff's time to relax and chat for the rest of the night. Pizza's were really good though. All in all - an average experience. We won't be back.

Went for my friend's rehearsal dinner. The space was nice and the servers were great. They brought out pizzas, which were just average, which was surprising for a specialty pizza restaurant. The rest of the food was also just okay. The cocktails were not great either.

I found this place after searching for brunch option is NYC for our couples trip the past weekend. The food was very good and our waiter was amazing. Even my picky husband enjoyed the meal. We ordered the 1 liter drink option which was enough for us. You get so much food and at $29/pp you cannot beat the price. The atmosphere is great and the food came out very quickly. We will be back for sure the next time in NYC!

We picked this place because it was the only one with a table for the time we wanted. What a great surprise! The food, service and ambiance were wonderful. My tuna tartare appetizer was delicious and made perfect. My wife's appetizer was a tasty mélange of shrimps, mussels, octopus and crunchy bread in a red sauce, all of which was outstanding. I had the lamb sausage with Gnocchi for the main and my wife had the spaghetti in clam sauce. Both soooo very good!! We finished up with an affogato and some ice cream. This was a wonderful meal, and the service was helpful and timely. It's a large place with tables nicely spread out. This place is on our "visit again" list. A great find.

We started with excellent drink choices, that were refreshing. Our food was good, smaller portions but really good! The wait staff was really nice, the front reservation desk was just ok. She seemed overwhelmed as it was a busy night.

Sotto 13 was just a few steps away from our holiday rental apartment and we couldn´t resist their brunch offering. In fact, we couldn´t resist it twice. This has to be the best value brunch deal ever. 2 (large) tapas and a side dish each plus unlimited cocktails - what´s not to like. We really felt like old friends here - the waiter remembered us and brought our Bloody Marys without being asked. That´s what I call service. If I ever get back to New York this will be my go to for a brilliant brunch.

I've been to Sotto 13 about seven times since they first opened in 2012. Some meals have been exceptional- including there lamb sausage and grilled octopus rigatoni- while other meals have been quite disappointing- notably the escargot which the waiter insisted needed to be "that" level of in edible salty. This item seems to have disappeared off the menu. Select Sotto 13 for the funky atmosphere, interesting takes on Traditional Italian food, and for the convenient upper village location. In between the 1,2,3 and F,M, L.

Every time I visit NYC I have to stop by Sotto 13. Great pizza and Old Fashioned. Great food to share also.

Went to Sotto 13 on a recommendation & I am so glad we did. Late breakfast here & it was amazing!!!! The restaurant is on a side residential-type street, so we really had to pay attention. Not much parking on the street. Bar/waiting area is pretty small but the restaurant itself is beautiful inside. Unfortunately we had a wait for our table, so we decided to do the mimosa bar....came with a bottle of champagne & then a tray of mimosa & fixings like fruit purée & actual pieces of fruit. When we finally was seated or waitress was phenomenal! Our food was just as good! Please try the eggs al forno!!! I wanted to lick my plate it was that good! I cannot wait to get back to NYC just to go again!!!!

Good location. Nice atmosphere. Food was a bit salty. Fettuccini and rigatoni both good choices but salty. Arugula salad was even salty.

Sotto13 was a fantastic all around experience. A cute spot tucked away close to the west village was perfect for a couple dinner. Close by to public transportation including the Path, a fantastic happy hour which includes drinks like watermelon froze and jalapeno margaritas, and amazing pizza all at very reasonable prices, it is hard to go wrong at this spot! It does get very crowded during happy hour so expect to stand and fight to get a drink at the bar. Would recommend getting there early (around 5) or reserving a table (where happy hour doesn’t apply) and enjoying your drinks and meal in comfort. Definitely try the cocktails- they are all delicious and unique. Also, we shared the octopus appetizer which was absolutely delicious. Would also recommend trying a the pizzas over any of the other dishes. The pasta was average but the pizzas were spectacular. My favorite was the zucchini pizza. Sotto13 was a great all around experience. The restaurant in the back is cute for a date but spacious enough for a large gathering. Would highly recommend this restaurant!

I very rarely feel the need to write a review, but this is a special place. We have enjoyed dining at Sotto 13, so we approached Alessandro about hosting a baby shower brunch on a Saturday afternoon. The event was a huge success. The food, as always was delicious, the atmosphere, as always was warm & inviting, and the service was somehow even better than usual. Alessandro and his staff went above and beyond to make our afternoon so special, and all our guests can't wait to return. 10/10 recommend!!!

The mushroom pizza at Sotto 13 is amazing! The mushroom topping is a duxelles made with an assortment of mushrooms and just the right light touch of garlic. Wish I had a cooler so I could have taken an extra one back home with me. A note for parents: this restaurant doesn't have a kids menu and the cheese pizza is a margherita style. Each pizza is a personal size meant for 1 person, not really to be shared. My impression is that this restaurant is only appropriate for very well-behaved children ages 10 and up.

Disappointed by the expensive restaurants of Chelsea Village, a quick search of Tripadvisor directed us a little bit further to this delightful Italian. Great ambience, friendly staff and delicious food. The menu is varied but we fancied their wood fired artisan pizza's - something a little unusual. We were not disappointed. A lovely haven to rest awhile before heading back to the hotel. Would definitely recommend.

We had dinner at Sotto on a quiet weekday and really enjoyed our evening here. The atmosphere of the restaurant is nice and cosy - perfect for a romantic night out - and the food we had (two of the pasta dishes) was really good. However, be aware that the dishes are quite expensive, maybe somewhat too expensive for their size and taste. But Sotto 13 is nevertheless definitely worth a visit!

Recommended by my daughter. We pre booked our table. Seated on time. Excellent service and first class food. All together a great experience.

We had a celebratory dinner at Sotto 13 a few weeks ago. The place exceeded my wildest expectations. Sotto 13 really delivers FTW. The fresh pappardelle pasta in the Fresca entree was drool worthy and continue haunt me food dreams. The fresh pasta was tossed with a light tomato sauce along with leeks, zucchini, asparagus and mushrooms. The wood-fired pizza was spot on and the server was quick to appease. We asked for the Di Parma pizza with light red sauce, the pizza typically comes sans red sauce. What arrived as not a Neapolitan pizza, but a light, thin but not too thin, pie topped with red sauce, mozzarella, arugula and proscuitto di parma. I prefer it this way. For tasters, try the grilled octopus and chickpea fries. How can you go wrong with chickpea fries? A silk smooth delivery of chickpeas in a crisp vessel. There's indoor and outdoor seating. We sat indoors under the skylight. The servers are attentive. The seating is comfortable. The noise volume was agreeable. The food was delicious. My only reservation? This little piggy wished there was more octopus in the grilled.

I came here for my birthday brunch of 11 people and had such a great experience! We worked with Rich who made it very easy and seamless to plan. This was an AMAZING VALUE spot with decent food and friendly and fast service! For our group size, we did a fixed brunch menu where everything came out family style (one piece for each person to share), including bottomless drinks. This was enough to fill up my entire group :) They do allow you to switch out items from a select list of options including the drinks! Thanks for helping me to have such a fun birthday celebration!

Friends who live nearby recommended Sotto 13, a new Italian in the West Village, when we visited NY from London last week. This is a real neighbourhood restaurant, in a typically New York brownstone. It opened at the end of last year. The menu says “Social Italian” at the top and that’s what it is: lots of small plates – think Italian tapas – on the table for everyone to eat and try together. The charming restaurant manager Guiseppe explained that everyone thinks of pasta and pizza when they think Italian food, but of course Italian food is much more than that. The menu has a selection of tapas – crostini, vegetable, seafood, meat and cheesy – over 20 small plates. We tried the Rosemary Thyme & Garlic Shrimps, the Butternut Squash cannelloni , the Lamb Spiedini (with a wonderful dense port gravy) and the Chickpea Fries. Four clean plates. Then on to the Pizza (cooked on site in the wood fired oven) a classic with palma ham, mozzarella and rocket just the right thickness, really tasty. And we managed to squeeze in some home-made rigatoni with veal ragu, how could we not? Oh, and a wicked chocolate pudding (shared, at this stage). Sotto 13 is cool and contemporary, with black and white paintings of iconic Italian buildings on the wall. There is a cocktail bar, as you come in, and next time we are in NY we are coming back for the new ‘Social Brunch’ which our new BF Guiseppe says includes a DIY Prosecco Bar – where you can mix your own prosecco cocktail. Sounds good. Although nothing can beat the Chickpea Fries in my book. This is a lovely place, with really well cooked, different, and authentic food.

We went here looking for good pizza on Sunday for lunch. The pizza was good, but the service was not very good. It might have been because we were a family, and they were serving a more upscale brunch crowd. They never offered us drinks, never checked on how the food was. We asked for a refill on the bread and never got it.

Had dinner on Saturday 5:30 pm. The place became more quiet, food was very good, and orders were served as soon as they were ready in no special order. Service was very friendly, selection of wine & beer was nice. All 6 of us enjoyed Sotto13.

I hosted a bridal shower for my sister-in-law, and Sotto 13 was the perfect spot. We were a group of 12, so we did the set menu for brunch. I liked that the food was served family style - guests got to try everything and we didn't have to spend time ordering. Rich was very helpful throughout the planning process. Everyone raved that the food was delicious!

First visited Sotto 13 for an outdoor breakfast in a sunny day and fell in love with the communal menu and authenticity of the Italian dishes. Dinner was more amazing. Cozy indoor seating area. Very attentive and friendly staff. Shot by great selection of home made pastas and pizzas. Dessert didn't disappoint either. Short and rich menu of authentic Italian desserts and gelato. Best Italian I had in Greenwich Village.

Had an early dinner here last Sunday and the food and service were fantastic. We got a nice seat in the back at one of the high booths. The restaurant was not very crowded, as it was early for a Sunday night. We started with the octopus and burrata and both were very good. The burrata came with homemade bread. For our mains we had the orecchiette and the pasta special of the night which was pappardelle with lobster and shrimp. Both dinners were very good. For dessert we had cappuccinos and nutella filled donuts. The donuts were good, but could have used a little more nutella 😉 Overall we had a lovely experience and will def. be back!

The food was good, but kind of expensive for the serving, very small. I ordered the carbonara and I was done in 3 bites and ate it because I was hungry but if the chef has cook it one minutes less and could have eaten right from the box. That "al dente" it was. My husband liked the octopus, but again so small.....

Stopped here after visit to chelsea, high line, and the Rubin museum. Nice street, we sat out front in small 4-5 table Al fresco area on a perfect day. We must have arrived at a shift change because we waited at least a half hour before our order was taken, and overall service was very slow (we paid bill with the last of our cash because using a credit card would have meant at least 30 more minutes). The staff was very nice, wine good. And the food was excellent. Pizza very good, meatballs and sauce some of the best I've had. Their twist on carbonara was interesting..using smoked duck...I liked it. Would like to try interesting sounding sausages. Pasta home made and very good. Went in to check out indoor dining area...very pretty and unusual...much bigger than you would think. Prices are exceptionally good for area. We will go back.

Sotto 13 is located in a trendy funky space, different wall colors and finishes lots of metal and tile. There are few finishes to absorb sound. The restaurant was noisy to the point of annoying. It’s almost impossible to hold a conversation without raising your voice which only adds to the sound levels. The food was average to good. Arancini rice balls are a recommended starter. Spaghetti carbonara was overbearing. The pancetta was very gamey tasting. The mushroom pizza was tasty but the crust needs improvement. A soggy crust when a huge wood burning oven is being used is a no no. The lamb shank was tender but tiny in size; the accompanying polenta was tasteless. The pasta del giorno offered was tiny pene in a ragu sauce that was commendable. Service wait times are lengthy but staff is very friendly.

Recommended to us by a friend, did not disappoint. Beautiful Friday evening to kick off Memorial Day weekend. Sat outside. Very attentive and friendly waiters who kept us hydrated through the balmy evening. Began with cocktails all very good. Shared 2 orders of the arancinni, delicious. Linguine with Manila clams in a spicy but balanced sauce was excellent, as were the flattened, breaded, pork chop snd the veal tags with hand cut rigatoni. Modest but well-picked wine list. Had the 2018 Franco Francesco Barolo which perfect.

A great neighborhood find. Food was unique and delicious. We enjoyed the social brunch and prosecco bar. The only downfall was abrupt service that left us feeling rushed. Fixing that would elevate the experience.

I really wanted to like this place - it's close to where I live, the menu sounded great and the pictures on the website looked fantastic too. So I went there on a Sunday evening with my wife. We were seated in the main room at the back and apart from us only ONE (!) other table was busy. Still, we enjoyed ourselves since this was a special evening for us. We had booked the table for 7pm and everything we ordered came quite quickly - a starter of Fennel sausage and peppers, which was a bit greasy, but fine. My pizza was delicious (Arugula and Bresaola), so I would probably come back for that one. My wife had ordered her Brussels Sprout pizza solely on the grounds of it being advertised as containing Fontina cheese rather than Mozzarella, but the actual pizza she got had hardly any cheese on it. So she was disappointed. One of the wines we ordered was unavailable, but the ones we actually got were okay. We wouldn't have minded any of this, because we still enjoyed each other's company and the nice ambiance. BUT the real let-down was the poor service! I am so surprised it is praised in most reviews here. Our waitress clearly does not belong in such a place, as she lacked the basics of common sense and good manners. There were a couple of minor issues before this (like her watching us while we are choosing from the menu). As I said, the restaurant was half empty, we had booked our table for 7pm and by 7.45 (!), while my wife was still drinking coffee AND we were clearly having an intimate conversation, she suddenly came over to our table WITH THE CHECK! We had not asked for it yet, we were still deciding whether we should have some Prosecco to celebrate, we were in the middle of a romantic conversation, and she just bursts into this with a check. This is extremely rude and unacceptable. Never ever in NY, not even in places which are absolute hotspots and where you are only given time slots when you book, has a waiter brought a check without having been asked for it. At that point I was rather angry and of course we decided not to have any drinks any more. I paid in cash, to which she asked, "Do you need the change?" I beg your pardon? Do I need the change? Or isn't it rather a reward for good service? I just told her to keep it and we left - with a very sour aftertaste... I was very disappointed. Especially since we had only been there for 45 minutes and the place was almost empty I find this absolutely unacceptable!

In the old Bigoli space (and old Gonzo space, before that), Sotto 13 bills itself as having tapas, pizza, pasta, and cocktails. We had an assortment of the tapas and loved every one of them -- crostini with fig jam, prosciutto, and gorgonzola; meatballs with ricotta; rosemary-thyme and garlic shrimp; fried calamari and cherry peppers. But, the standouts were the chickpea fries with sun-dried tomato pesto and the roasted beets and goat cheese. The chickpea "fries" were not fries at all, but creamy chickpeas (almost the consistency of soft, silky polenta) dusted with corn meal. They were so good we had a second order. The beets and goat cheese -- found on many, many menus these days -- were offered in an unusual presentation: diced gold and red beets, layered with the cheese in the middle, that resembled a tartar in the way it was plated. The space has been changed slightly, adding high tables in the front rom and cozy booths in back. The manager, Giuseppe, was very friendly in his welcome and came to our table to make sure we were happy with our food. And our waiter, Ivan, was there whenever we needed him with a smile and the best suggestions of what to order. And, the tab didn't run up like it seems to do at many tapas places. What's not to love? We were ready to go back the very next night.

Group of 10 went for brunch and had a long table in the atrium/center. Loved the ambience with the high glass ceilings and metallic finishes. Tried the prosecco bar which was cool because we did our own mixes but the mixers are very small portions. Everyone's meal was great. Definitely try the French toast!

I met my daughter and son-in-law for lunch at Sotto 13. My daugther recommended it as a place to relax, have a few drinks, and eat some decent food. She was right on all three counts. We sort-of ate "family style" - I ordered a pair of appetizers - burrata and arancini - both delicious. One of us had a tasty small pizza with pepperoni. And the last of us had fusilli. All the food was delicious. Drinks were fabulous as well - i had a bourbon old-fashioned while my dinner companions had some of their specialty drinks. They were colorful and delicious - gin based, but I forget the specific names. The ambiance was perfect for our lunch - not too crowded but the wait staff was attentive and kept our drinks full. I'll come again - it was a great experience.

So glad I followed the TA advice. Lovely decor, excellent food, good service and reasonable prices. A great placeto meet friends for a casual meal. Wild mushroom pizza was nicely thin crusted and delish. Chick pea fries with sun dried tomato pesto was yummy.

The dishes menu is better priced for a group than the social brunch which is expensive at $35. Unless you want to have a few mimosas for brunch - then the price may be reasonable.

Wow this place is incredible !!!! Meatball appetizer with a tomato sauce that is very tasty. Ordered a Fungi pizza that was the best pizza I have tasted in a long time. Cooked to perfection crispy edge very flavorful. And the pasta is really good has 2 types a mushroom version and a noodle version with different sauce . This is a must if in New York . It was so good that we forgot to take the picture before we started . Foodiecritic954@gmail.com

We were a group of 4 vegetarians. Ordered all the 3 veg pastas and a pizza. The food was very good. The alfredo pasta being the best. The mushroom pasta sauce was amazing too. We also had the roasted cauliflower with pine nuts and really enjoyed our meal

We had a 20 person rehearsal dinner at Sotto 13 and everything was amazing. The service was spectacular. The team at Sotto 13 had great communication for the entire planning of the event. I got great compliments from every guest about how excellent the food was. Would highly recommend this location to anyone and will be dining there again in the future.

Walked past and went in and was pleasantly surprised. Had a delicious pizza and pasta in a great environment.

Enjoyed dining al fresco at this casual Italian restaurant on the West side. Great pizzas and pastas and good wine. Just don't expect the dishes to come out at the same time!

This restaurant is a block walk from the Walker Hotel Greenwich Village. IT is a nice Italian restaurant with a good by the glass wine list.I had the kale salad and the pizza special on a gluten free crust. The food was delicious. The wait staff friendly and attentive. The restaurant take reservations. There is a bar in the front. The dining room in the back is a mix of regular tables and highboy tables.

I had the most wonderful birthday dinner last night at Sotto 13. The food, the service, drinks, it was all amazing. This birthday will be one that I hope to never forget. My friends can't stop emailing today about the great time we had. Thank you Guiseppe and staff for a memorable evening.

I actually read about this place in one of the morning metro papers, described as a great "underground" spot. I had some family coming into town, and wanted to try something new, so we gave it a shot. The ambiance is great; very low-key, good tunes and an attentive wait staff. The skylight in the middle adds so much to the place. The food was quite delicious. We had a variety of tapas, from the octopus to the roasted beet dish, they were all very well done. We especially liked the butternut squash cannelloni! The lamb chops, though small (tapas size), were some of the best I've ever had. It can't be easy keeping such a small slice of meat as tender as juicy as they did. We had a variety of cocktails. I am a whiskey/bourbon fan, so I tried the Bourbon Smash and the Sazerac (named after the famous Rye drink that originated in New Orleans). The Smash was a little too fruity for my liking, but the Sazerac was really well done. Overall, I was very impressed with everything that we experienced. I am looking forward to my next trip here; Sotto 13 was in the metro paper again yesterday as they apparently now have a great boozy brunch, with a make-your-own prosecco bar! Can't wait!

On a 4 day break in New York this was the highlight of our eating out. Booked and had Sunday brunch. The venue is lovely and the staff very friendly and the food fantastic. Glad I found it and will always go back if in New York. Try the Bloody Mary with your food..wow don't think I have had better

A few friends and I went to this restaurant for a Saturday brunch. While we opted out of the boozy brunch (unlimited breakfast cocktails for 1.5 hrs) because not everyone in our group wanted to drink, we still had a delicious brunch experience. I had the french toast, and it was probably the best french toast I have ever had in my life. It was made with rosemary focaccia, and served with maple syrup and a tart berry compote. My friends had the eggs benedict, which also received good reviews. We shared some gelato and sorbet for dessert, which was also good. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is great, with beautiful decor and a huge skylight on the ceiling making it feel light and airy. The only minor complaint is that while some of the cocktails we tried were delicious, the raspberry in the bellini overpowered the white peach flavor.

Came for dinner with a friend, there’s a front area with a bar and the restaurant is in the back. Lots of action at the bar, and the level of noise in the restaurant made it really hard to talk and hear! Food was so-so — I had the shrimp pasta, pretty bland. So all in all, there are much better places to eat around the area

A large group of us went to Boozy Brunch after I found this place through Google while searching for best brunches in NYC. This place did not disappoint. The Boozy Brunch is quite the deal. For 7 of us, we got flowing drinks, 3 pizzas, 3 brunch plates, and 2 sides. The brunch plates are small and shareable between 2-3 people, but they are portioned out for the group. We got 4 plates of parmesean polenta, 4 plates of steak hash, and a plate of the french toast, with three pizzas, and the sausage and bacon for our side. There was no shortage of food, and everything that came to the table was better than the previous item. The french toast had to be the best french toast I've ever tasted. The waitress was friendly, except towards the end when we were vaguely kicked out of our table. We weren't bothered by it though since we were right on our time limit and had plenty to eat and drink. They keep to a very strict 1hr 45min limit. The drinks were very delicious and our glasses were never empty. The ambiance is very relaxing with a great skylight over the middle of the restaurant. Super delicious brunch!

Four of us stopped here for dinner during the Pride Parade 2019. It was jam packed and, hence, very loud with large parties. After the large parties left it quieted down quite a bit. The food was really, really delicious! We tried two pizzas, the octopus appetizer, shared a salad (between 2 people), and shared a side of cauliflower. The pepperoni pizza with jalepenos was amazing. The octopus was perfectly done - not too chewy. Our waiter was just ok. He was a bit overwhelmed with the crowds, so I'll give that to him. The enormous skylight is a very nice touch that lets in light and allows you to see a tree-top so you feel like you're not really in a gigantic city.

I was really looking forward to dining at Sotto 13 with my friend, who had traveled all the way from Canada to spend time together. Unfortunately, the experience fell far short of our expectations. The food was just average—nothing special, especially for the price point. What made the night particularly disappointing, though, was our server’s attitude. After we finished our meal and received the bill for $130, I left a $10 tip, which I thought was fair given the level of service and quality of the food. Rather than simply thanking us, the server started arguing, insisting that “people usually tip 30-40%.” When I politely responded that the food wasn’t exceptional, he dismissed my feedback, saying, “I’m not the one cooking; I’m only serving here.” This defensive and unprofessional response made an already underwhelming experience feel even worse. As someone who enjoys dining out frequently, I can say this experience was disappointing and left a sour taste in my mouth—literally and figuratively.

This is a lovely little restaurant tucked away with space galore that is deceptive from the exterior. Beyond that though, the food is wonderful, the service great and the place is definitely worth seeking out if you like Italian food. The prices are amazingly reasonable for NYC. We had the tuna tartare, antipasto special (spring pea ravioli), fettuccine bolognese (they will make the pastas appetizer sized if you wish) and a fish special which was cod, clams, shrimp and something else served over a bed of polenta. We concluded with bomboli (fried donut holes) and prosecco.

We went to Sotto 13 as we failed again to get a table at Rosemary's. I so glad we did! Having eaten at Rosemary's a few days later, Sotto 13 is so much better. The setting is more comfortable, the staff are more friendly and less harassed and the food is in a different league. The restaurant was busy but not too loud. We were seated quickly. The food felt home-cooked, fresh and very tasty. Excellent selection of wines/spirits from the bar. I wasn't drinking so I finished the meal with a cup of Earl Grey and the Cookie Jar! This was bliss. Very comforting with a stinky cold!

We met here with a large group and it worked well. Food was good, not amazing, but good. No complaints about the service. This place is a bit limited for vegetarians.

The brunch offers family style options, which include several different drink flights - carafes of mimosas, pomegranate screwdrivers, etc.....well worth the value in NYC. Only thing keeping us from scoring it a 5 was we received our french toast platter, pizza, bacon and had to wait for our eggs benedict. By the time they arrived, we'd eaten too much of everything else! Only drawback to a great post Thanksgiving brunch on Saturday!

We went as a group of 4 and thoroughly enjoyed not only the meal, but the delicious cocktails! Originally we saw an instagram for their signature watermelon rose slushy (yummy!!!). Then, we saw their menu and made a reservation. We had an absolutely delicious meal. From their appetizers (their zucchini salad was incredible); we all loved our entrees that we feasted on. I had the free range roasted chicken, my husband had the hand cut rigatoni spicy lamb sausage, grilled octopus, with market greens. At the end of our delicious meal, we were treated to a delicious sparkling rose! We shared two of their incredibly delicious desserts and the bill wasn't bad for the area and meal. Not sure? Go give it a try just for the watermelon rose slushy!

I attended this place for a brunch for my best friends birthday, and the food was amazing. They had these nutella donuts that were out of this world. My only complaint was that there wasn't enough food. I left full, but everyone got one little donut, one piece of bacon etc. We had about 19 people and I think they should of put more food out, and more alcohol in there bloody Mary's. The place was great though and food was divine.

We went there this weekend for dinner for the first time. I was excited as their menu looked good. Our server was nice, but we definitely didn't get any explanation about the food. He didn't seem to care. I noticed it after two other tables came in after us. Their waiters described the various dishes and seemed to care. Maybe it was because I was there with my son? Or maybe my waiter just had an off night. Regardless, the rest of the staff was attentive and kept our water filled. They were quick to clear our plates and before our check was even returned, our ENTIRE table was clean. Dessert wasn't offered. i was disappointed. My son is 7 so it wasn't like he was running around or loud!. I specifically emailed the restaurant last week to ask if children were welcome; the manager (?) said yes and was enthusiastic and said how much the kids like the pizza. So...again, not sure if our server was just rude/inattentive/didn't care/off night or what. BTW, my son LOVED the pizza and said it was the best ever.

A very nice place. Quite busy, but the food is good. Service was excellent and personal. We had a lovely evening.

Visited here in June for a friends birthday party. Our host had decided the best way to handle the large group of us was to just keep the tapas & pizzas coming. I can honestly say I had a bite or two of everything on the menu and it was all good!!!

We dined here recently celebrating a birthday. This was our second visit; the first was a wedding rehearsal dinner where we reserved the entire back room. We enjoyed both visits. The wait staff are professional, attentive and knowledgeable. The appetizers, especially the tuna tartare and meatballs, as well as the main courses were very good. The pizzas are delicious. The wine list included some reasonably priced selections. In all, we had a very nice experience.

Excellent value, lovely staff and great food. Only observation is that in bringing all the food at the same time, some gets a little cold before you can eat it. Other than that, would highly recommend

A group of 4 of us visited this restaurant on a Sunday. We were early so took a stroll. By the time we returned (15 mins later) a line had formed outside! So make a reservation. We signed up for the boozy brunch. It was absolutely beautiful! I wanted to return the next day and the day after that. Even if you are not interested in the unlimited alcoholic drinks, please the french toast! I guarantee there is nothing better!

Friendly staff atmosphere and delicate and great food, super gluten-free pizza. Truly a fantasy of flavors

Sotto 13 is a place in my neighborhood but it is so much more than a neighborhood place. Careful attention to design, mixology and cuisine make it a fantastic place. I have been several times since it opened and have had a great experience each time. Last night, I was joined by two old friends and we shared bruschetta, chick pea fries, orecchietti, pizza, octopus... a bottle of Lambrusco (yes!) and panna cotta. Everything was perfect including the Lambrusco. Service was wonderful as well. I hope the word gets out about Sotto 13.

If you like modern, homemade (down to the Pasta) Italian, this is the place. 3 other restaurants have come and gone in this spot, I hope this stays for a long time. First of all the Back room, w/ Lg. Skylight is amazing in Daylight. The Chef, ed Cotton has a great Rep, and the staff is friendly + helpful, and the food is great. I am pretty demanding, if I'm paying for a good meal - but the prices are very reasonable, and the food is GREAT!

I had heard great things about Sotto 13 from friends who went there for New Year's eve this year and decided to check it out for dinner with a small group of girlfriends. The experience was really faultless, the food delicious and service first-class. I cannot recommend the mushroom truffle pizza enough!! And tapas is always a winner with a group of girls when you can't decide what to order- eliminating the chance of food envy! We were big fans of the cocktails too- and Frankie the barman can whip up pretty much anything on request. Sotto 13 is extremely well priced for a West Village restaurant (and it's on a lovely leafy street) and the fact it doesn't take reservations means you don't have to go through the usual Friday night panic of trying to find a table last minute.

Returned to Sotto with family and friends and had an absolutely fabulous meal. The staff is still excellent, thank you Lauren and manager, Joseph. This time the small plates were great. Highly recommend the Tuna and the Octopus. We shared three pizzas all different and perfect. Because our friends are "regulars" we were treated to a dessert sampling that ended a wonderful meal on a high note, though we had to waddle home. Thank all of the staff from bussers on!

We discovered this restaurant by researching here in TripAdvisor. This is a nice restaurant with good food, well priced. Dishes are very tasty and portions are generous. We were three sharing all our dishes. The calamari, a crostini and the zuccini for starters. Then, a pizza and a pasta dish. For dessert, we had canollis, sorbet and the chocolate cake/ganache. WOW! super delicious. The decor and ambiance are very nice. The service from the host to the waiter to the manager; everyone was also very nice. What a discovery for reasonable prices. Definitely recommend.

We had a delightful mother's day dinner sitting outside on a pretty section of 13th Street. We had an excellent salad and shared two pizzas and a few other not memorable small plates. I would stick with salads and pizzas and you would have a four star casual meal. The staff is lovely.

I live in the UK but the thing I most look forward to when I visit New York is going out for brunch. Last time I was in the city I met up with some friends and we went for brunch at Sotto 13. I have never laughed so much or had such a lovely time as I had there, the staff were very friendly but attentive, the food was delicious, and the cocktails were lovely. I have to admit I may have had one cocktail too many for a lunchtime but everything was brilliant. It was so good I am bringing my mum to New York in January and it will be her first time in the city and I am hoping to go back for brunch on my birthday, I can't think of anywhere else I would rather celebrate!

We opted for a bottomless brunch at this great spot after a recommendation from a friend. It didn't disappoint - the food was fantastic and the service impeccable. Definitely recommend highly.

Convenient location. We enjoyed their Pre-Fixed menu and had a sampling of their appetizers and pastas to share. It was so good that we just couldn't stop. While the bar is a bit noisy, the dining room was quite and we could talk. Service was excellent and we will return.

Sotto 13 is located in a historic brownstone in the west village on 13th street. It offers Italian-inspired cuisine in a very cosy atmosphere. I was surprised with their egg options for brunch. They offer a brunch formula with a choice of 1 pizza per table, 1 dish per person and 1 side. We had the rabbit + pork mortadella pizza and it was amazing. I am honestly not a big meat lover, but the crust was so soft and tasty, same goes for the meat. For entrees, we had the butcher's scramble and the eggs al forno. The butcher's scramble was hands down my favorite, but they were both so flavorful and tasty. I tend to think that egg dishes for brunch in New York are often overrated. This made me change my head. Being a dessertivore myself, we tried a bag of bomboloni (Italian doughnuts basically) with a side of hot chocolate sauce, delicious ! Overall a great experience. Service was really good too !

Came in with a party of 8, including 2 small kids and had a great evening with delicious food and drinks, and great service . Recommended dishes: Crispy prosciutto pizza Shroom pizza Octopus Arancini Baby Beets Cacio e Pepe Rigatoni Lamb Sausage

Fabulous Italian food in the West Village—looking for dinner after a movie in a part of town unfamiliar to us, we stumbled across this fabulous restaurant. Wonderful octopus, super salad, unusual and flavorful pastas—substantial portions, enough for two meals. Friendly service, reasonable prices (for New York). We would absolutely go back.

I recently tried Sotto 13 with my mom and aunt for a girls night out. We got there a little early for the typical New Yorker's night out so it wasn't extremely packed. We were instantly greeted by all the staff and seated right away. We ordered a few cocktails, the Kickin' Olive being my favorite, along with two crostini tapas and of course the mushroom pizza that everyone raves about. The food was delicious, although the pizza had a little more truffle oil than I like. Overall it was a great experience and I will definitely be going back.

Came here with a friend after work for happy hour. We were greeted by the host, who was friendly and sent us a glass of prosecco to welcome us. We sat at a booth in the front and shared a pizza, arancini and each had a couple more glasses of prosecco. :) They were not crowded (Tuesday night). We stayed for 2 hours and never felt rushed. The waitress was having trouble with the computer, which caused a delay in the check getting to us. All in all, a great location with delicious food and wonderful hospitality!

On my first visit to this restaurant I was not overly impressed. The ambiance is nice and the bartender is a nice guy. Happy hour doesn't interest me so I went for the food. The meatball appetizer was good and portion enough but the food was not hot and in my mind I questioned if the meatballs were meat. The pizza's are super thin and came out very burnt. If I was alone I would have sent everything back and reordered.

I was there with a large group. The service was excellent. We had a shortened menu. The two pizzas were the best (a Margherita and a mushroom). The beet salad was very good, just not an amazing creation as one can find these days. My main course was cavatelli which was fine, nothing to complain about, but it did not wow me.

Celebrated my wife's birthday here and Sotto was perfect. 1. Starters - margarita pizza, octopus, an meatballs (highly recommend all three, meatballs especially) 2. Carbonara, pork shank, and free range chicken - all 3 dishes were spectacular. Rarely do we go to an Italian restaurant and the entire meal is tasty from start to finish. Closed out with sugar donuts paired with chocolate drizzle. Service was a tad slow but didn't ruin the overall experience. Highly recommend this place for groups!

I booked a surprise birthday brunch here. The staff was so nice and gave us time to decorate the room in advance, and let us keep a cake in the back which I really appreciated! We used a pre-fix menu and all of the food was amazing. I loved the mushroom pizza, every single piece was eaten from the group. The stuffed donuts were INCREDIBLE and so chocolately. They kept the unlimited drinks rolling in and there was good music and a great vibe! I would 100% come back here again!!

I visited Sotto13 with some friends this past Saturday night. Here are the pros and cons based on my experience: Pros 1. The staff is very friendly. 2. The interior is cozy and modern (I love the glass ceiling!) 3. The octopus appetizer and pasta dishes were pretty good. Cons 1. The pizza was decent-- there's a trillion places in NYC to get pizza so I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here just for the pizza itself. 2. For 4 people we paid close to $200 (only 2 of the 4 had a glass of wine)-- for the modest portions and pasta and pizza entrees, we didn't feel it was worth the price. 3. The menu is limited in selection. Overall, I think this is a great local pasta spot if you're in the area, but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here.

Went for a Sunday brunch for my wife's birthday with my kids. Excellent Pizza, Arugula & herb salad and focaccia french toast. The Rose Sangria was delicious.

We were part of a group of 10. The atmosphere was nice and warm for a cool January night. We seemed to be waiting for service the whole time, whether for water, wine or food. When we got our food, it was good, but not special. We had various pizzas and salads among the group. I wouldn't put it on my return list for NYC.

This food was great and the service was good. I want expecting much because it’s in the theater district. It lives up to its reviews. We will be back!

I went here last night for a birthday dinner as a group for 4 and it was perfect... our round booth easily cold have sat a few more. The restaurant ambiance is beautiful and has a large skylight above so great ambiance for brunch or dinner. We saw a large group of girls and also separately a large table of guys. So seems like a great venue for a birthday or bach/lorette dinner. We got 3 starters, 2 pizzas and a pasta. The carbonara was delicioius!!!

Verything was really cool ! Food was delicious, many original italian dishes. I especially loved the carbonara, one of the best I had. Their desert are awesome. Perfect place for a romantic date !

I absolutely adored this place! I had seen pictures of the pizza and some pasta dishes on Instagram and they looked amazing, so I knew I had to give Sotto 13 a try. The pizza was absolutely delicious and their wine list was great. We split the salami picante and the pizza bicanca for our main course and we also split the meatballs as an appetizer. Neither disappointed. Our waiter was also super attentive and gave us enough space to dine and enjoy. I had no idea how BIG this place was-- if you walk past the front bar and high top tables, the restaurant opens up into a massive dining room with a rustic atmosphere. Definitely suggest checking this out!!!!

I chose Sotto13 to get together with friends I hadn’t seen for 7+ years. They accepted reservations for party of 8 and set up this beautiful table in the middle of the floor for us. The service was great, the food just beautiful (we ordered burratas, pizzas, steak, pasta and salmon + desserts) and the place is so cozy with the wood oven warming us all. It’s a place I recommend for anyone looking for tasteful food downtown Manhattan!

We went to Sotto after attending an event at the New School. It finished a bit late and by the time we got to the restaurant we were HUNGRY. The service was great and the food was fantastic. We were a bigger group and we had fabulous round booth where we could all talk and hear each other easily. A lot of fun over a great meal.

Took my family there to celebrate my mom's retirement. Upon arriving with a reservation, we were told we would have to wait about 15 minutes. We got a few seats at the bar and enjoyed a cocktail each. Before we were done with the cocktails, we were seated. It was mentioned to the manager our reason for celebration and he came over with complimentary bubbly! We started off with appetizers and a pizza, cacio e pepe with egg.. yummy! We also had the tune tartare, so fresh and tasty, the octopus, again fresh and yummy. For dinner I had the pork shank... so crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside along with cannellini beans I would highly recommend. Others had Lobster Fra Diavolo, steak and the short rib... I had tastes of all of it and they were all worth ordering! We got sides of mashed potatoes and at the managers reccomendation we ordered the roasted cauliflower. Again, both would be ordered again! Finally, we got a chance to meet with Ed Cotton, Executive chef. Not only can this guy create a delicious meal, he is so nice! We chatted with him for a few minutes and thanked him for a great meal. He is so pleasant and friendly. After our chat he brought over some rainbow cookies (one of my favorites!) and came by to say goodnight at the end of our evening. I would highly recommend Sotto 13 for a nice dinner and night out. Prices are totally reasonable and the experience was pleasurable! We are talking about going back for brunch soon!

A great new restaurant in the West Village - Sotto 13 is very well priced, sensational food and wonderful service. Mathew was our server and recommended some great dishes, advised us to order less and if we were still hungry order more. He was also incredible gracious and fun. Food was very tasty and the pizza very light and flavorsome. there is also a lot of space so you are not on top of the table next to you. Great design. Overall one of my favorites in the city. Without wine our food was only $40 for 2.

Went here with a group of 6 for Happy Hour on a Monday. Great deals on cocktails, wine and beer as well as food. We tried all of the apps on the bar menu and each one was excellent. The meatballs were really flavorful with a fantastic sauce. Pizza was fantastic and the arancini were very tasty. Service was attentive and friendly. The bar area is small so on a night later in the week it might be crowded. Decor was nice and we were very comfortable as they pushed two tables together for our group.

I read about this restaurant on a list of top brunch places in NYC, but what really caught my eye was the prosecco bar. If you are going for brunch, I highly recommend doing the social brunch and adding on the prosecco bar. The social brunch was the perfect amount of food for the four of us. I was a little concerned that the purees and fruit in the prosecco bar wouldn't be enough but it was perfect! I also suggest trying the butcher's egg scramble and focaccia french toast.

Nice brunch, interesting choice of dishes on the menu. Pizza was great, thin crust and tasty. Mushroom ciabatta was a good choice but the chicken pie a little dry. Ordered a bottle of prosecco which turned out to be Cava so some small misrepresentation there. Service was froendly and efficient.

We've eaten here four times, each time with a different chef. Every meal had great pizzas, the usual and a few unusual. We've had their octopus as a main course twice and it was excellent with interesting salads first. Everyone raved about their pastas and my daughter had the black bass main course which was fabulous. We were six and shared two desserts, banana sorbet and Nutella stuffed doughnuts, perfect.

Pay attention on what they charge you!!!! I have been there with a friend of mine. Our bill was 71$, we split the bill, so that each of us paid 40. 3 days later I have noticed that they had charged me 82$. :O I went to the restaurant and talked to the manager, showed him the bills etc. He was very rude and told me that this is my problem and I have to speak to my bank. He wanted to convince me that they charge me 40$ only, many times he repeated that he looked up the system and his copies and everything is ok. However, he refused to give give me back the money. After I left the restaurant he run after me apologizing and saying that he has suddenly found out what's the problem. MISTAKENLY they had put 46$ tips!!!!! Can you imagine?!? 35$ bill, 46$ tip!!!!!!!! I am sure that he saw that straight after I told him what it is the problem, but he wanted to accuse the bank and to not give me the money back. I do not recommend this place!!! Be careful and always check what they charge you!

Food was great! Between us we had starters, deserts, pasta and pizza. The pasta with the veal ragu was fantastic. Service was friendly and accommodating but they did seem to forget a number of drinks orders and they didn't manage to calm down the air con. Overall was delicious food and reasonable value in a lovely setting.

Sotto 13 is a very attractive ,informal restaurant, with one of the best bartenders around. It was fun to watch him make multiple drinks at once and all came out perfect. They offer some very unique and delicious cocktails. The restaurant can be easily overlooked, so look for the lights outside. There are steps down to the bar\cocktail area, and a larger dining room in the back. There are a number of large banquettes to seat large groups. The best is the pizza and meat balls. Very hearty and delicious. Hanger steak was a little disappointing Wait staff was friendly and very accomodating and attentive.

This place was packed the moment it opened at 11am. Not difficult to understand why. Service was good, food was in generous amounts and quality. Started with beignets which was heavenly, followed by pizza, scrambled eggs with mushroom (eggs were so creamy), bacon, egg Benedict, free flow mimosa drinks. It was a group of 10 of us and everyone had enough to eat.

Lovely setting and excellent thin crust gluten free pizza. Very accommodating wait staff. We just simply enjoyed our early dinner in a relatively quiet environment. Then the noise amped up by the time we were ready to leave and we were out the door. Phew. I’d go back on a heartbeat just be sure to come early to avoid the noise because the pizza and other food is too good to pass up

Went for Sunday brunch. Adorable location and even better food. The service was fabulous. There are so many great places to dine but this one is worth a visit. Excellent.

Met up for brunch with some friends and initial impression was great. We sat as we waited for rest of party and everything was okay. We finally sit at table and order. Food was good, but small portion for family size which left us hungry. The drinks were good first round, but when we decided to order another carafe, it tasted completely different and sent it back. They offered to make it again, but had same bitter flavor with a lot more sweetener. Service could have been better if waiter checked up on us and advised us of kitchen closing upon seating us at table. They didn't fill glasses with water as we sat after bill was paid either or during meal. We were asked to get up for a reservation that wasn't true because we stood at front and place was still rather empty. We won't say it was a racial matter, but the treatment received wasn't great at all. Location lacked hospitality and a welcoming environment; felt like we were being ignored and getting the cold shoulder. I did want to recommend this location at first, but I changed my mind after observing everything. Hopefully they can work on treating customers better across the board and not give preferential treatment to whoever they feel like it.

We went to Sotto 13 for dinner on a Saturday night with another couple after drinks at the Top of the Standard in the Meatpacking District. We were about 15 minutes late but they held our reservation. The restaurant was nice and cozy, and the hostess put us in the middle of the dining room, which was just pass the kitchen. We were surprised that it wasn't very busy for a Saturday night. We all decided to order off of the Flour+Water+Wine Prix Fixe menu for $39 per person. It definitely was the right choice for the quality and price. The menu had us select three antipasti, three fresh pasta dishes and a quartino of wine per person. For starters, we ordered the arugula salad, wood fired meatballs (minus the pine nuts because of my wife's allergy) and margherita pizza. All three were the perfect size and each tasted very good. For the main entree, the four of us split grandma's fettucini (bolognese, parmigiano mixed with love), the carbonara (bucatini, duck pancetta, cured egg yolk, pecorino, parmesan) and hand-cut rigatoni, which included spicy lamb sausage, grilled octopus and market greens - of all three, this was hands down my absolute favorite dish. The waitress was very sweet and helpful too, and checked up on us a few times. We will definitely be bringing our friends to this authentic Italian restaurant in the near future. Another great little Italian find in the city that never sleeps. I highly recommend this place!

Our daughter found Sotto 13 for our last day in NY. We went for the Sunday brunch. The server was attentive and informative. Quite professional with a little flair is sarcasm. The food was awesome and as usual, we ordered way too much. The five of us could not eat anywhere near what they served.

Sometimes, greatness lurks just a few blocks away. Didn't know Sotto 13 had taken over the old Gonzo space, which we missed terribly. I have to say, Sotto was even BETTER. From the moment you walk in, you are treated like an old friend. Giuseppe, the manager came by our table shortly after we were seated to welcome us. He was extremely sincere and laid back. Our waiter soon appeared for our drink order and let us absorb the incredible menu for a while....no rush. Tried 4 small plates, pizza & pasta with 2 buddies and enjoyed their amazing sangria...WOW! (Caramelized onion and sausage pizza was OUTSTANDING.) The atmosphere is soothing, lighting subtle. Great spot for date night. Can't wait to go back and try the $25 all ya can drink, brunch deal. This spot just shot into our heavy rotation. ENJOY!!!!

This brunch spot has the BEST brunch foods - and in good quantity too. Their pizza is like no other. We had the portobello pizza. The sauce and complementary ingredients were perfectly combined. All the small plates were delicious as well. We had eggs benedict and pulled pork hash. Only CON: Sotto13 doesn't offer bottomless drinks. Their Social Brunch gives you a pitcher of mimosa/bloody mary/sparkling wine for every two guests. I went as group of three and got a pitcher and a half.

I had done a lot of research before my trip to New York as it was my boyfriend's first trip to the big apple. I booked Sotto13 a month in advance. When I got there it was busy and bustling and they had no booking for me. They said it hadn't been booked. I turned my data roaming on (for a princely €60) for 3 minutes and found my booking. Once that was cleared up the experience was fab. Food and staff amazing. Sampled many of the drinks and everything was top notch. The food was really tasty and it ws quite reasonably priced. I would reccommend.

Had a party of 15 for a birthday celebration and everything was perfect! Sotto13 worked with me on a package that was very generious, the food was amazing and the service was great! I am so happy we held the event with Sotto13! highly recommended.

Visited Sotto 13 with large group of friends. Seated us immediately at great table. Great service. Everyone enjoyed their food (mostly pasta and pizzas). My pork was over-cooked but could not rate it as inedible. Would definitely go back, as it is one of our local neighborhood spots. Also do deliveries.

We popped in on a Monday Evening and were lucky enough to get a table for 2 in the very crowded bar area. Sharing a Spaghetti with Shrimp and a Spicy Sausage Pizza washed down with a couple of glasses of decent red, it was a perfect simple supper freshly prepared and very tasty. The waitress was clearly covering a lot of tables but didn't look flustered or neglect us at all. We would recommend it to others and go back ourselves, we would consider it cheap eats for Manhattan but have paid more in other restaurants and it hasn't been nearly so good!

Had a 21st birthday dinner there with 18 people - everything about the event from the first contact to the actual dinner went great - Rich the event manager was super helpful about everything and responsive. We had balloons and a cake delivered to the restaurant with out a hitch. Everything was on point - the timing of the delivery of drinks and food were perfect never had to wait for anything, the service was great, the food offered something for everyone and all choices were delicious. The cake was served with everyone singing and we didn't feel rushed to leave the place either. The area for large parties is also a great space right in the middle of the restaurant. We were so happy with how everything turned out, didn't have a single issue or complaint.

Enjoyed their terrific weekend brunch in this hip and relaxed restaurant located on the edge of Greenwich Village. Brunch is served family style. For $45/person, the table can choose 3 brunch items to share from the extensive menu. We ordered the black current French toast, margherita pizza, and an egg dish and everything was delicious. The price also includes a carafe of either prosecco, mimosa, bloody mary, bellini, red sangria or passionfruit margherita per every 2 guests. The restaurant is well equipped to handle large groups and looked to be a popular spot to celebrate special occasions like birthdays.

Booked here under the recommendation of our hotel for my mums 70th birthday. So glad I did as it did not disappoint. Beautiful location and beautiful inside. Best restaurant we came to on our trip. We both had the salmon which was amazing, with a side of toasted cauliflower (yum) and the broccoli and breadcrumbs. Dessert was ice cream. Amazing meal, great ambience and location. Go go go!

This was a few doors down from where we were staying. We tried it one night with no great expectations and were very pleasantly surprised. The pasta was great, nice wine list, service was really good and it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Recommended.

Absolutely had a great time for my birthday brunch! They kept the drinks flowing and the food was great. 10/10

Exceptional discovery!!! Recommended by a friend I was pleasantly surprised by the Quality of food. Contemporary Italian cuisine. Nice and spacious environment. Fantastic staff: attentive, lively and welcoming!!! A fixed stop for the times I will come to New York!!!
Memorable place
Loved the decor the minute we walked in! Had a great super delicious meal! Place was super noisy because two large ladies parties sat next to us. Food was the highlight for sure! Sizes are just right- thank god there were no huge portions. Salad was delicious and fresh. Pasta was excellent! Happily stuffed with good food and would def return here!
