Fun Italian spot in Noho

By DennisG50 |

We had a special birthday dinner here this weekend. Great knowledgeable service and all the choices were very good but as in many Italian spots very large and lots of bread on things that you wouldn’t expect (the strachiatella). Wine offerings were quite reasonable and nice full bar. Great location and the same owners as Five Points in this same venue. Mangiare!

Outstanding

By Shawnwise |

What a treat. This resto was fantastic. The staff was friendly and helpful. The vibe was very cool - and the place was busy! But the food. The food! Who knew carrots could be that good. We each tasted each others' meals, and everything was amazing. Also at a very reasonable price for the quality of the food. Will be back!

A little loud but

By Ritz1165 |

the food is phenomenal. Fresh ingredients, tasty food. Pizza, tortellini in broth, roast chicken.. great breads. Darkish atmosphere. Attentive service. Young vibe. Ask the waiter not to our the whole bottle of wine into the 4 dinner glasses.

Sloppy Pizza and drenched salad

By copperbottom |

Came here with high hopes. Sloppy pizza with blackened edges and a salad drenched in so much vinegar that it was droopy and inedible. Mackerel main was good but really so so poor and NOT RECOMMENDED

Good family friendly place

By tms215 |

I say its a good pizza shop is because that is the best thing on the menu. You could go here, buy appetizers, a salad, and a pizza and be full. Quality is fresh. The wine selection is unusual, a little pricey, and good! Service was good but a little slow when it gets busy

Great place, great service

By handske |

The moment we entered this place you could feel the good atmosphere. The waiter was very polite and made us feel welcome. The food was great , and I will certainly visit again when visiting NYC.

Great, fun spot for weekend brunch

By NYCIan |

I've eaten at their sister restaurant - Cookshop - a bunch but this was only my second time here, and my first for brunch. Great menu selection, incredibly tasty food, and wonderful service. I sat at the bar and had a great time. I'll certainly be back!m

Very good brunch, great food and service

By ivseddoc |

Visited recently with 9 of us for brunch. Food and service are both excellent. Good variety of selections and everyone was very happy with their meals. Highly recommended!

Great lunch. Flavour Punch!

By Toojaysquared |

Went while in New York with a local colleague for lunch. Lots to like, the food, the room, the service. Everything had lots of flavour; the mocktails, heirloom carrots, spicy chicken salad...would definitely recommend. Restrooms are only letdown. Need some lovin' (not dirty, just a little sad)

Really good!!

By Sockster |

We came here on a very busy Saturday night with a reservation for 6 at 9:00. Unlike most restaurants we've been to lately, Vics actually honored our reservation! Kudos for that. An app of baby octopus was a small serving, but enjoyed at our table. The weakest dish of the night were fried onions, which just weren't special at all. Two pizzas were perfectly cooked and delicious! The pastas were outstanding. Even though the pastas took over a half hour to arrive, each were excellent. Cacio e Pepe was perfectly cooked, and well peppered. Their dumpling pasta was lemon heaven. Finally the Bolognese was porky and delicious. We all like the pasta here better than at Babbo!!! Our server was terrific as well. All in all, a very enjoyable evening and we definitely will be back!!

Fortuitous accident.

By Anonymous9 |

In NYC with family, we got our restaurant names mixed up and ended up here for a weekend brunch. But it was really a pleasant mistake. Though very unassuming from the outside, the place was hopping, had an energetic vibe (without being overwhelming), and was done up for the holidays. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and seated us promptly even after determining that we didn't have the reservation we thought we had. The food was delicious to eat and a visual treat as well. Well done!

Second visit just as great

By sdk |

Restaurant give a good vibe, staff Good and chef is innovative with favors, especially with vegetables. Lamb belly is a must, little gem salad good if you like the acid in dressing, turnips AMAZING. Pastas melt in your mouth and flavors pop. A must try in NYC. Wine list good too.

Good food and reasonable prices

By marsmadness |

Checked out Vic’s when in town for the US Open. We had made a reservation and were seated promptly. Waiter was cordial but very busy so not as attentive. Drinks were excellent, I especially liked the Salsa Verde cocktail. We had the garlic bread appetizer which was small but excellent. We then shared two pastas and a pizza among the three of us for dinner. All were very good but the portions were small. Pricing was fair, and the atmosphere was hip. I would recommend Vic’s, and suggest making reservations rather than trying to just walk in.

Hip Italian spot with excellent food.

By Tim S |

Hip, fun Italian spot on Great Jones. This stylish restaurant has excellent food. We came early on a Friday and dined at the beautiful bar. The food was really good and so was the service. The pizza is the best I had in a while and the pastas were exceptional. It was not cheap, but the value here is better than most.

Great food, service and setting

By RHL |

You can tell when people enjoy their work and this is one of those places. Intuitive and not overbearing service from the entire staff. Food was absolutely delicious. The fried chicken is fantastic. Didn't have a cocktail but the bar looked great and well stocked with great brands of whisky like Russell's Reserve and Van Winkle.

Really lovely restaurant with a really relaxed ambience

By DutchDiverFrank |

Had 3 starters and a pizza as a share with 2 people and it was the perfect amount. $169 plus tip. The food was delicious with the sprouts, citrus salad and roast potatoes were all lovely and the arribiarta pizza was lovely. Really great service and food. Lovely place and will be going back.

Great for Brunch

By Jamie Lynn |

The ricotta pancakes were great, as was the greens/cheese sandwich. The sandwich was by far my favorite- you must try. The space was beautiful and it wasn't too crowded on Sunday. Service was excellent. The menu could have used some additional non-egg options for brunch, which is my only complaint.

Great food and ambiance!

By paula h |

We had a great meal and evening at Vic's. We ordered the peach burrata and corn pizza. Corn pizza was my favouring pizza in awhile, and I eat pizza often. The burrata with peach was very tasty as well. We sat outside and really enjoyed the ambiance. Bartender was great and very freindly as well. Prices were reasonable, I recommend!

Italian with a flair

By Michael S |

This is a fun noisy restaurant. There are several unique options which makes sharing numerous menu choices ideal. Prices are reasonable and service was excellent.

Lovely space, friendly staff, nice food...

By Ozgur Can Y |

Lovely cheerful space, frendly staff... I had Buratta as a starter and Hanger Steak... both were very nice, buratta came in a grape souce and pistachios, it was a nice combination, steak with rucola and parmigiano, nicely cooked...

An varied and truly memorable meal!

By Peter M |

I've heard all the hype good and bad about Vic's, and decided to try it. I was NOT disappointed in the least. in fact it was a truly memorable meal. We decided to have a dinner of appetizers and were every pleased we did. standouts included the crisp onion, the beets, the spaghetti with cracked pepper [i have not better even in Italy} a lovely ravilolo with cheese. The pizza was a little bit charred but still tasty. The is a very well though out wine by the glass menu which we took full advantage of.The staff was eager to please especially the manager on who was very helpful! The owner came out at the end to talk with us, which was appreciated. For a Sunday evening this restaurant was packed! with a very varied and fun crowd..It is not an inexpensive restaurant nor is it pricey, somewhere in between. I will be back, and bringing friends.

Crispy sweet onions

By rhpatt29 |

The pizza was very good. The pasta was very good, Cacio e Pepe and Card Driver. The local beers and wine were good. But - - - the Crispy Sweet onion was spectacular. The restaurant is small and lively. Staff was great, friendly and helpful. A great evening!

Underwhelming

By Crossruff |

Starter of battered onions was no good. Bit stale. Mains were ok but not inspiring. Not a pleasant experience.

Dinner

By Elisabeth Z |

Delicious beautifully presented food, lively ambience and great service! A trendy place to enjoy dinner with friends. If you need a place for quiet conversation, the section in front of the kitchen is best. Enjoy!

Delicious

By Jleott01 |

A lady named Elaine from the 50s primetime diner at Disney's Hollywood Studios recommended to visit this place as her cousin is one of the managers there. We were very happy to have followed this advice because the food was fantastic, as was the service and free sparkling water! Thank you for a wonderful experience. I would go back to NY just to eat at this place again :) :)

Good atmosphere, below average fare

By DavidU4444 |

Vibrant neighborhood and bustling pace inside and at sidewalk seating. However, I could not say the food was enjoyable. Three words: salty, salty, salty- ruined the meal which was nearly inedible.baby squid was inventive with fennel, golden raisin and pine nuts, but did I mention too salty? Pasta dish was (yup, salty) tasty but way over cooked the pasta.

Formerly called 5 Points- now Vic's

By kt3 |

My wife and I ate brunch here when it was called 5 Points and we did so again as Vic's. We shared baked eggs in tomato sauce and creste de gallo pasta in an amazing tomato sauce. Bloody Mary was good and strong. Our waitress provided excellent service. We went to the Public just up the street after eating, so it is a good location for eating prior or after a show there.

FAB FOR LUNCH!

By Brian P |

Stopped in here for lunch during the week with a girlfriend. From the outside the restaurant looks quaint & small but once inside it is quite large towards the main back dining area. We were warmly greeted by the hostess & seated towards the middle of the back dining area. There is a large bar towards the front section with some tables as well. Our waitress was great- very professional with great tips & suggestions. She was very patient with my friend who was a bit picky about which red wine she wanted. She also mentioned that my chicken sandwich was a bit on the spicy side which I appreciated her telling me. Both our lunches came out in a timely manner and were delicious! I would definitely be back and I highly recommend a meal here!

Decent place for a get together

By Wilson L |

My wife took me there for my birthday. The restaurant accommodated us on the seating request (my wife likes to sit side by side with me). Service was very good and attentive, but acoustics wasn't. Its best for a larger group of people, and not for an intimate setting. The only small negative issue was that my wife requested a candle lit for my desert (she even called ahead on the day of to re-confirm after making the initial request). But there was nothing. The waitress did apologize, as well as the GM, who did so a few times. We appreciated that. But wouldn't it be easier to take the desert off? It was only $9 but we would've remembered the gesture well enough. But still a pleasant experience.

Great food

By Janice F |

We had a great dinner. Wonderful food, especially the pasta. Our server was friendly and very helpful. Excellent value. Good neighborhood place and also worth a longer trip to get there.

Great food, even better service

By Tom N |

Joined a group of friends here the day after Thanksgiving for a fine meal. Everyone was very pleased with their dishes and our server, Maggie Mae, was outstanding. Helpful, prompt, and cheerful - made a great evening even better.

Solid pizza

By Tunaidi |

Vic's offers up solid food. Solid salads and pizzas. The pizzas are personal sized, thin crust, and wood fired. The pasta is okay, in my opinion. A little too cheesy for my liking.

Food Poisoning Alert - Eat at your own risk!

By Audrey |

My husband and I got severe food poisoning from Vic's twice. Obviously our fault for going back, (we naively thought the chances of getting food poisoning twice from the same place in NoHo were slim...), but given that Vic's totally blew us off when we told them what happened, we feel like we need to let the public know. Clearly they have unsanitary practices. Eat at your own risk!

Be prepared to yell, and the food may not be worth it

By Pamela R |

After three good dining experiences at Vic's, I"m sorry to say it's no longer on my list. A recent meal included two dishes that were utterly swimming in way too much butter, and an unremarkable dessert. I'd previously been much more impressed with the food. The clincher, however, was that, after requesting a "quieter, if possible" table our party of 3 was seated next to a birthday party of 20-plus guests. Service was on the slow side, and, all in all, the experience was a disappointment. Elsewhere in the restaurant the noise level was equally high. Given the plethora of terrific restaurants in the neighborhood, there's no reason to go there.

Two hits and a minor miss

By Sally B |

Unfortunately the family member who brought us to Vic's didn't want to influence our choices and therefore didn't recommend the pasta dish cacio di Pepe. The good news is that she ordered a large portion for herself and was forced to share. It is an inexplicably divine simple spaghetti in pecorino, butter, salt and pepper. That's all--but done right, the flavors go straight to the taste buds with only a minor detour to appreciate the al dente pasta. The grilled albacore was also excellent, standing up for itself in a robust but not overwhelming tomato and herb sauce. My pork, however, was not the flake-off-the bone style I expected. It was treated like the albacore, but the pork was too tough to merit such a simple rendition. The service was exemplary, so friendly and helpful, and the wine and beer selections were first rate.

Great Place

By Loouis S |

First time visit with friends. Great food, desert Semifreddo was to die for. Great atmosphere and able to get a table in a short time on a Saturday night.

Pleasant Surprise

By BradShaw123 |

Happened on Vic's by accident strolling around the East Village the other day and made a 5:30 reservation based on the recommendation of a patron sitting outside. Glad we did...it was great. Inside the decor is very nice without being over the top. It was an early seating so we got a lot of attention from the staff. Here are our suggestions: skip the offer of bread for the table and go for the menu item: bread with goat butter...this is delicious. We shared the beet salad with goat cheese...the beets were delicious, nice size chunks and the goat cheese was soft and tasty. My wife had delicious ravioli's stuffed with eggplant and I enjoyed the spaghetti with crab meat. Some reviewers had commented on the use of lemon...perhaps that's true but it added a nice hint of flavor to some of our dishes without being overpowering. About the only downside I will mention is that the restaurant does get loud...as more and more diners showed up, the noise level increased. I was glad we ate early. We'll be back to Vic's.

Some delicious dishes, some not.

By AAEN |

Was a group of 7 with a dinner reservation. Glad to find out that we were seated at a roundtable. This made our conversation easier as the restaurant is very noisy. Interesting choices on the menu and the tables favorite was the carrot appetizer and the garlic bread with goat butter. The burrata also got eaten quickly! The tuna entree was a very small Portion, disappointment on the faces of the 3 men who ordered it. 2 ordered pizza which had a paper thin crust that was delicious! The tomato sauce on the pizza tasted like tomato paste out of a can. The cheeses were high quality and tasty. Our server was very busy with other tables and tried to keep up. We were either inundated with help or were waiting for help. Drinks and dinner came at the same time rather than just prior to appetizers.

Father’s Day Dinner

Great atmosphere. Cacio e Pepe pasta and Margherita pizza were wonderful. Bar made two great cocktails as well. Would definitely recommend

Fantastic!!!

By Lisa V |

Cool looking place with the bar in front and kitchen open in the back. The site is a renovated old stable. There is a skylight in the kitchen area that lets in a lot of natural light as well as a couple of tables. The menu is really interesting.. for starters, we tried the roasted carrots, the artichokes, the calamari and few other items.. Everything was freshly prepared and just delicious. I recommend the pizza... it's a nice thin crust and they can be shared. We ordered a lot of food and split it all... We will definitely be back!

Great place for Mother's Day Brunch

By ohayomountain |

What a great place on a special day. Room was lively and appealing. Service was outstanding as was the food. Although the place was packed we never felt rushed. Definitely look forward to our next visit.

A nice place for a lunch.

By Jo O |

Vic's is a nice restaurant for lunch. Some of the dishes also come in two sizes. It has a nice atmosphere and it is possible to talk to each other since the music is at a normal level. Great service, good food and tables outside so you can enjoy the weather.

CONVIVIALITY WITH GOOD FOOD

By Mark D |

What I noticed first about Vic's, the reincarnation of 5 Points, is the warmth. You walk in and there's a hum, the sound of people having a good time. I got there early, got the last seat at the bar, and a martini quickly materialized. It had good olives. My wife and our friends arrived and we were seated in a great booth right on time. I like that and I liked the fact that the greeters seemed genuinely happy to see us. Call it acting if you will but it still feels grand. We ordered drinks and our server provided menus and large house bottles of of still and sparkling water. Since I hate paying for club soda, I liked that too. The menu was very interesting, with tons of choices. We started with baby carrots cooked down and almost caramelized. They were delicious and I got voted out of getting a second order but every scrap was devoured. We also had spicy cabbage as an appetizer and it was delicious. For entrees I had a delicious pasta called caceo pepe. The place was fun, there were adults at some of the tables, the food and service was fine. And while it wasn't cheap, it wasn't wildly expensive, by New York standards, either.

Awesome

By El Dorado |

Any of their bread based appetizers are amazing as is their brunch. Solid "italian fusion" let's call it.

Great ambience. Food just okay.

By meiki w |

Beautiful restaurant! Came here for a Christmas dinner last weekend and it was so pretty and festive in there, with all the Christmas decorations. Service was on point too. Our waitress was amazing, wish I remember her name! She was so lovely and patience with us when it came to ordering and answering our questions on the menu. Wonderful staff there for sure. Now the food, unfortunately I was not impressed. Neither were my friends. We got the garlic bread, bruschetta, and the Borsa "little purse pasta" to share and each got our own entrees. The garlic bread was not what we expected, super thick hard piece of bread. There was a ton of butter but don't taste the garlic at all. Then for the bruschetta, two pieces of toast, half was burnt black. I don't understand why that was served. Then the little purse pasta, great presentation but was not what we expected and taste pretty bland. For entree, I got the tonnarelli pasta (with clams). Pasta was undercooked and overall dish was quite salty. I was drinking water with every bite. For dessert, we ordered 3 different desserts to try and wasn't a fan of any. Everything was just so sweet and not special at all.

A very pleasant lunch

By TeddyDove |

Went for a quick lunch with a colleague on her recommendation. It was pretty quiet so we were seated quickly. The service was very attentive, although the server was a bit quiet. She was quite attentive. My colleague had the tagliatelle and said it was very light and tasty. I had the chicken which came with a nice vinaigrette over greens. The broccoli was nice... but, some of the greens were a bit wilty. Overall, a pleasant lunch and I do plan to return.

Great vibe, great service, great food

By ScooterG |

My wife only eats Italian when we are in NYC and we try new places every time we go. This trip we ate at Vic's and it was outstanding. Our server was great. The Crispy Sweet Onions are an amazing appetizer as was the corn and ricotta "salad". I had the ricotta filled pasta "purses" for my entree, my wife had Cacio E Pepe and both were exceptional. Five stars and we will be back !! Also the prices were very reasonable compared to other NYC restaurants of this caliber.

Great atmosphere, food, and drinks!

By ACLLNS786 |

My husband and I enjoyed meeting up with a friend who lives in the city while we were on vacation. It has a casual vibe but is very nice. Great food and drinks with a wide variety of menu items. We really enjoyed our dinner!

Food, Amazing, Ambiance, Amazing, Staff, OVER THE MOON

By LA Dolce Vita |

My friend and I dined at Vic's and had the best time. Not because the ambiance was amazing or due to the food being out of this world, we truly had the best time because of your server, Tereek! We have since told a number of people about Vic's. You had a great employee, he was attentive and made sure that we had everything we needed. We will be back

Nice atmosphere

By B M |

I thought the atmosphere and lighting of this place was great but 3 out 4 meals ordered were extremely average. My order, the pasta, was brilliant but otherwise, noone loved what they ordered which was a shame. Wine was unreasonably priced.

Crowd Pleaser

By Antionio10 |

his vibrant East Village Sicilian-style restaurant serves good pastas and salads. Much like its sister restaurants 100 Acres and Cookshop, the can't go wrong menu is sure to please everyone.

Consistently Good

By jpbandsvk |

We live nearby and have eaten here many times. Consistently good food - as well as their other restaurants, Rosie's and Cookshop!!

Best dinner out!

By tigermom2015 |

Great service, great food, great interior! Everything I love about New York! Started with drinks recommend by "mixologist" who invented the drinks. I had a chile faux-jito refreshing and spicy. Appetizer of crispy sweet onions, must have! Corn salad to start, amazing and Cacio E Pepe pasta, perfect. Coffee and pistachio/fennel/chocolate/lemon biscotti for dessert, yum! Our server was sweet, efficient and helped us with our selections. Great service. The space was hip with amazing interior. Friendly and welcoming.

Homestyle - elevated!

By Bad Ass Babushka |

We started with a lovely red from Piedmont - complex, yet medium bodied. The Cacio and Pepe is truly divine, my date kept asking if I was sure there wasn’t any cream. Nope - just the Parmigiano-Reggiano fresh cracked pepper, and al dente spaghetti, combined to perfection. The garlic bread is seriously the best I’ve ever had - with a generous squeeze of lemon that elevates it to sublime. Pair that with the juicy roast chicken to create the perfect entree. For dessert we had the panna cotta with wine soaked cherries - yum! Love this place and will definitely return!

Vic's

By Rich H |

We had a 5:30 reservation as we had an early theater performance. We were greeted and seated immediately. Our server was prompt, pleasant and very helpful in describing various dishes. The pastas were delicious and we will definitely return.

Good choice near the Public Theater on Lafayette Street!

By PeterAL10 |

My wife and I visit the The Public Theater with some frequency and it's not easy to find good restaurants nearby. We tried Vic's last week and were pleasantly surprised. The space is very appealing with good table separation. If you arrive about 6:00 PM ask for a booth even if you are a couple-they may accommodate you as they did us. The menu is one page but there is enough to choose from. The menu has an Italian cast but more on the light side and imaginative. They offer quartinos of wine in addition to glasses which is just right.

A RETURN VISIT TO AN USUAL PLACE

By Roberto Paris |

Due to the pandemic side effects have been unable to go back as I used to, the first time back was truly nice. the vibe, food, and courteous staff really made my experience smooth and enjoyable. I really think that their food and flavors are amongst my favorite in the city.

Cacio e Pepe

By shan9000 |

Great design, good flavors, thoughtful service and a focus on staples like Cacio e Pepe which, if you close your eyes, isa mini Roman holiday.

An "A" meal enhanced by a great wait staff

By Jan W |

I don't give many five star reviews, but this one was well earned! From beginning to end, our meal was flawless. We began with a shared dish of young, raw turnips sliced wafer thin and covered with a rich and creamy pesto of turnip tops, pecorino cheese, and pine nuts. A second shared dish of brussels sprouts was served grilled and in a sauce of anchovies, chilies and crispy garlic. The sprouts were al dente, and the sauce had a pleasant heat. One dining companion ordered the roasted chicken which she declared moist and flavorful with a very crispy skin. It was attractively served with fingerling potatoes, broccoli and scallions. Another diner ordered the mafalde, a tagliatelle-like pasta with caraway and nutmeg folded into the dough. It was a generous and full-bodied dish dressed in ample amounts of prosciutto and caramelized onions. My albacore with mussels, squid, couscous, and capers was perfectly cooked and perfectly delicious! A bread basket of excellent and very fresh bread was fully enjoyed, especially as it was served with a very good olive oil. There are short but well-thought-out beer and wine lists and what look to be some creative cocktails. And finally, a shared side of salt roasted sweet potatoes in a horseradish sauce was deemed by all of us as not-to-be-missed! We were way too full for dessert—maybe next time. Our waitress, a graduate of Boston University and now a graduate student, was attentive, pleasant, good-humored, and lively. And she was backed up by other equally alert and attentive staffers. We were at Vic's for dinner pre-theater: I can imagine that the place gets quite noisy as the evening gets later—but I'd go back in a heart beat.

Great Ambiance ! Great Pizza ! Great Options other than Pizza ! When the group can't agree.

By GopalG |

Hopped in here for lunch. some of the group wanted pizza and others did not. This was just perfect. Wonderful brick oven pizza. The burrata pie was special. The sauce was really just perfectly tasting tomatoes that were lightly touched with balls of warm gooey burrata. We had the pepperoni and the rapini pies as well which were good, but the burrata one won all the applause. The salads were sizable (enough for 3) and the fried squid appetizer was a wonderful starter.

Magic with Vegetables and everything else

By Ginger K |

Our goto place when we are at NYTW. The thin crust pizzas are delicious as is everything on the menu at both dinner and lunch. Chef Hillary is there watching every plate leaving her kitchen and the staff without being obtrusive are there to make your meal perfect. Rich flavors and fine wine selection. We always leave sated and happy.

Excellent - in every way

By rhodes19 |

There was a rain storm in the city, and we were going to go to Korea Town for dinner, but we changed our minds and decided to try Vic's. What a great decision that was! The food was delicious, the waiter attentive, and the atmosphere casual. It felt like a neighborhood restaurant with a diverse array of babies, kids, shorts, suits, and laughter. We started with waiter's recommendation of marinated farm fresh vegies and tomato basil pizza. The marinade and the sauce were delicious - fresh and flavorful. You could taste the ingredients in the sauce. We ordered the roasted chicken, which was so juicy and sweet with hints of spicy, that practically melted in our mouths, and the Maine crab pasta, which was delicate and flavorful - nothing was overpowering and the flavors complemented each other. Everything was delicious. Someone else mentioned the sound. If you are sensitive to loud places, come early or late to this restaurant. When we first arrived, there were just a few tables filled and not very noisy, but by the time we ate, it was full - and quite loud. The brick walls and the bare floors were lovely, but not really for absorbing sound. A wonderful restaurant, and we will be back. Highly recommended.

consistantly good but a bit heavy

By KyleWV |

Having been to Vic's several time, the food has been consistently good. This time we had: - Malfade Pasta, delicious and yet heavy - Lamb belly, tender - Sword fish, not bad but the center of the fish was still cold, it wasn't a crudo - side order of Kale with pecorino, good but a bit salty along with already salty pecorino dusty flakes Service was friendly and professional.

A fantastic find!

By Patrick L |

We were referred by a bartender and a place a couple blocks from Vics. Being from out of town, didn’t know where to go. Locals usually have the answer. And he was right! We were looking for Italian. Found it. This place has a great vibe, outstanding food and cool layout and design inside. One of the best cheese-black pepper pasta dishes I have ever had. It was busy and they got us in too. Not crazy pricey. Right in there with good Italian in NYC. I would highly recommend going to Vic’s. Staff was great and service was excellent. Great energy at 10 at night. I will go back when back in town.

Perfect Friend's Hangout with Great Dishes!

By Carla W |

All in the group had the best Brunch ever! The Foccacia is an excellent starter. The Ricotta pancakes are excellent. My baked eggs were amazing and the Frittata was perfect. The vibe here is great and the waitstaff is A+! We'll definately be back!

Rainbow Cookies To Go

By Stan Tecza |

Those silly VIPLISTNYC girls mentioned the rainbow cookies here a little while back and I like Rainbow cookies so ordered 4 for $8.00 on Grubhub. Cute spot. Awesome cookies.

Great family friendly eatery

By ALW |

Came for a pre-show dinner. Fantastic service from our server… really responsive, helpful and kind. Great meals, there were 9 of us, and everyone was happy with their order. They were efficient in terms of time so we could make it to our show.

Can’t say enough...great experience

By Dneuburger |

I really enjoyed this place. It’s rare to be able to sit comfortably with a table of 8 in NYC but Vic’s pulled it off with very good service and excellent food. Everything we had for brunch was delicious. The garlic bread, sunchokes and Brussel sprout appetizers were good. I had the egg and cheese sandwich with (incredibly tasty) bacon and kale. Others had the pancakes, scrambled eggs with broccoli and poached eggs. We all liked the food very much. Add in tasty drinks (including hot chocolate, bloody Mary’s, mimosas and latte with tequila!) were good as well. Throw in excellent service and comfortable seating and you have a winning combo! Check this place out for brunch.

rude

By A H |

This was a bad experience from the start. There was a miscommunication in regards to the reservation, however as the restaurant wasn't very busy they were able to accommodate easily. However, the host gave a long lecture on the proper was to make a reservation, including taking down the name of the person who you placed the reservation with, among other things. The tone and the fact that the lecture happened at all was very unprofessional and made us feel awkward. What he should have done was simply apologize for the miscommunication and leave it at that, no condescending lecture needed. Next, the food, a couple of us got the Cacio e Pepe, it tasted like the pepper shaker broke on top of the plate, it was basically inedible, way too much pepper. The other person who got the Cacio e Pepe felt the same way I did. However, I do have to say that the other people we ate with enjoyed their food - so maybe just stay away from the Cacio e Pepe! Overall though, I was disappointed in the menu selection, not a lot of things caught our eyes. The reason this place isn't getting 1 star, is our waiter, he was great! He was the only thing that saved the evening. You can get reasonably priced Italian food almost soo many other places, even cheaper, at much better places.

Sunday breakfast

By LeslieTeng |

Open-air space with really nice interiors, chipper service, and great food. I got the baked eggs, and it was savory with an unexpected (but very welcome) spicy kick. The portion was so large that I had to bring half of it home! The bread was also soft and perfect for mopping up the sauce. Great bomboloni too.

Great Menu, Outstanding Pizza, Awesome Pasta, Plan Ahead and Reserve a Table!

By Arthur G |

There are thousands of restaurants in New York City and while we all hope to eat an exceptionally great dinner, you’d think you have to spend a fortune to experience a meal that might bring culinary tears of joy to your eyes! Last night our cousin Jane took us to VIC’S,a cozy restaurant in NoHo. The restaurant was packed and while we didn’t have a reservation, we were offered a table at 6:20 but asked if we could finish by 8, since they were solidly booked with reservations. We agreed and we taken into their beautifully designed restaurant and treated to one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in months. Their menu is pretty uncomplicated. They have an assortment of appetizers, we started with roasted Brussel Sprouts and heirloom carrots roasted in dill and herbs and the most unbelievably delicious Sesame garlic bread soaked in goat butter! We ordered s bottle of red wine:Linero D’Avola on the advice of our very knowledgeable waitress, Tiffany and added as our entrees: their roasted albacore, fantastic Occhi pasta and an amazing Burrata Pizza. Their prices were reasonable, their staff efficient and friendly and I only wish Trip Advisor had a higher rating system for Truly Outstanding! The owners have a few other restaurants that I want to visit: Rosie’s, Tenth Avenue Cookshop and Shuka.

Loud and Lively, but Mediocre at best

By Brad |

I used to love Vic's predecessor restaurant Five Points, and Vic's was done by the same folks, but they must have fired their chef's, as the food was simply awful. The restaurant is high energy, loud, and reasonably well designed, with a long bar at the entrance. I was seated promptly, but at a round table that would seat 5 even though I was a party of 2. The table was in the back room, adjacent to the open kitchen, which was substantially brighter than the other parts of the restaurant, and not conducive to a dinner setting. Though the host was kind and offered to move me, we had already settled in by the time another table became available, so decided to stay put. Though many people enjoy loud restaurants, I am not one of them, and found that I had to constantly repeat myself to my dinner companion. We had the Burrata, Cheese Pasta, and Poached Cod. I can't really comment on the Burrata, as my $13 portion was literally one bite that I split into 2, so I couldn't really taste it (though it seemed firmer than a Burrata should be). The single piece of toast that came with it was nice though, and was probably the highlight of the meal (along with the free bottles of both still and sparkling water, which were appreciated). The Cheese Pasta was incredibly heavy, and virtually inedible, and I left half of it uneaten, and made my companion try a piece to confirm that it 'wasn't just me'. The Cod was just edible, and was overbuttered, and overspiced with a conflicting combination of tastes that seemed entirely random and did not mesh at all well. Perhaps we just hit Vic's on a bad night, but our overall experience was unimpressive and I doubt I will go back to give them a second try.

Like this part of NY. Vic's a nice meditaranian restaurant. Food is tasty and service is great. Price wise it's a good choice.

An OK Spot for dinner

By Susan10536 |

Met with friends for dinner. Restaurant was fine, nothing fancy, service was good. Big room with a bit of a din. I thought the food was fine but can't think of any of it as a standout. The cocktails were great though.

excellent food, very noisy

By akrook |

I met a couple colleagues here for dinner, and the food was great. We started with a shared order of borsa, delightful filled pasta, and had vegetables (as opposed to salads) and entrees, two fish and one pasta. All tasty and excellent, though the fish portion looked a little small (it wasn't mine). The brussels sprouts and cacio e pepe were especially good. Wine was no more overpriced than is now normal, service was good if a little harassed; seemed as though they were missing a server on this busy Wednesday. Prices are current NYC standard. The room was deafening even when not full; don't plan on hearing your dining companions at popular times. Vegetarians eat well here, and vegans can do all right.

Great neighborhood restaurant

By Bryan N |

Vic's has a great neighborhood vibe, and a good looking restaurant as well. The service was outstanding! Very polite and attentive staff to make the meal more enjoyable. To start, we went for dinner with a large group, so we tried many of the appetizers and the baked zucchini, burrata, and crispy onions are all fantastic apps. The zucchini has great flavor accompanied by the tomato sauce, the burrata was soft, tasty and the crispy onions had such a great batter. Unfortunately, I didn't have the chance to try any of the pizza, so that will be for next time! The pastas that my family ordered were all individually great. The pasta was consistently cooked al dente and they had a variety of unique pasta dishes to impress. I had the Cacio e Pepe, which had a light creamy and black pepper flavor which was awesome, the Borsa pasta looked impressive and finished well with a creamy center. Their seafood pasta was by far my favorite though. Very impressed with my first visit to Vic's and I hope to come back soon to try more of the food.

Some hits and some misses

By robin082 |

This new restaurant in the space formerly housing Five Points is good (but unfortunately not as good as Five Points). First, the food. The appetizer menu is idyosycratic: lots of greens and vegetables, then one clam, a pork sausage and the very good rabbit roulade with golden beets we shared. The pizzas and pastas hover between innovative and quirky – and none of the quirky were appealing. The menu “speaks” Italian with “Antipasti,” “Pizza,” “Secondi” and “Contorni” but the mains choices veer sharply to generic American/French bistro:” Flank steak, grilled swordfish, pork shoulder, roast chicken, roast oxtail. My companion had the grilled sword: good. I had the pork shoulder – a nice fork-tender piece with a bit too-much pink peppercorn masking the pork taste. Overall good – not very good. Very good service. And now the setting. Overall a chic space – but what’s with the benches? One side of the room has a room length attractive-looking curved wood bench. The booths on the other wall have the same curved wood seating. On the first wall, almost all the women were seated on the benches: perched forward on the front edge because they wouldn’t be able to reach the table if seated back (nor would a normal sized man). We were first shown to the bench, tried it for a minute or so, found it uncomfortable and awkward, and then moved to the very comfortable chairs in the center of the room tables.

Delicious Italian food and perfectly matching setting...

By Eddel |

After a tiresome day wandering through SoHo, Vic’s was, in every way, the place we pictured in our heads when we looked for a place to dine: the setting, the décor, the casualness, the friendliness and to top it all, the deliciousness of the food. We had salad (Little Gem salad and Bean salad), pasta (spaghetti), pizza (peperoni), and a couple of beers; you can’t go more casual than that. Everything was perfectly cooked and delicious, and although we were famished and thought portions small first, turned out to be plenty. The service matched everything else, from the hostess to the waitress: friendly, polite, and expedite; something that is appreciated when starving. A couple of takeaways: First, having a reservation is highly recommended, otherwise, be there early. Second, in Vic’s particular case, I’d go with an indoor seating; the outdoor seating looked a bit too much on the street and not quite comfortable. The only “but” we came across with while visiting, is the menu not being what you would call extensive, especially with the assortment of pizza toppings; but overall, Vic’s covers the basics. Would definitely recommend this place.

Disaster for brunch.

By Doge26 |

Nice decor. The food was really terrible. Send the chef immediately to Italy because there is no Italy to be found in this restaurant. Having a gas pizza oven, putting burrata on the menu and cooking the bomboloni, the only thing I tried with some potential, in the same oil you fry the fries is a disaster. The server was nice. Tell the chef to wear a hat when she comes back from Italy because long hair do not look good on a kitchen floor.

Surprise little stop on our way to LES

By Izzy D |

Needed a quick stop for a bite/drink on our way - the outdoor seating and open air feel attracted us to the spot immediately. The egg/brisket sandwich was unique and delicioso!!!! The bartender knew how to make a good manhattan and the wine list has many choices for every taste. Menu has choices of fresh appetizers and entrees along with pizza/pasta selection. Love it

Just Okay

By Joski69 |

Food, service and presentation was just average. Of our 5 dinners in NYC, this one ranked the lowest. Pizza came out visibly burnt but the kitchen and server ignored it. Missing items for cocktails like olives and cucumbers. Nothing stood out that would cause me to send someone here when there are so many other great options to choose from.

Surprisingly enjoyable dinner

By candicaneadventures |

I have passed this restaurant many times and usually head to another place down the block, but we opted for Vic's for dinner last Saturday and it was a very nice and pleasant surprise. The place is noisy but not so horrible that you can't communicate with others at the table and the good news is that the tables are not so on top of one another. The service was very good and the quality of the food was outstanding. We shared two appetizers: the crispy sweet onions that were delicious and the lamb belly that was scrumptious. I could have stopped there, but we did each get an entree that we all ended up taking home for delicious appetizers. The pizzas have a crispy thin crust which is my favorite and definitely something to share. I had the roasted chicken which was good but a little oily. The wine list was good and very reasonable. All in all, it was a great dining experience and I am very glad that I did not just walk by this time but actually went in and dined!!

Went there twice - loved it

By AG |

Despite the tepid reviews we decided to go there around Christmas time. the sitting is tight, the portions are relatively small but the appetizers are innovative and delicious. Our guests were between 6 to 50 yrs in age and they all had a good time. We decided to go there again last week and we weren't disappointed. The waiters were very attentive. Our new guests loved it too.

Comfort Food

By ajfsurvey |

Vic's is a nice place, owned by the same folks that own Shuka, Cookshop and Rosie's. The food here is great. They make excellent pizzas and have an interesting variety of side dishes and entrees. Everything has a bit of spice to it, some dishes more than others. Get there early for dinner, as the place fills up after 6PM, or later when the theater goers thin out.

Great!

By Charlotte K |

Loved Vic's. The interior was tastefully done: airy and not cramped at all especially for the city. The food was great--a good balance of breakfast foods and some more savory lunch inspired dishes on the brunch menu. The burrata was great and cocktails were good, but it was rather pricey. For a total of 4 cocktails, and 3 dishes the total bill was $120. The service was on point--our waiter was attentive and very helpful. Overall, I would recommend to friends for any occasions or for a nice dinner out. It is a splurge, but worth it once in a while.

Decent

By EJCSF |

Tortellini was very good. Pork chop was half fat. Pizza was downright soggy. Desserts were great. Atmosphere fun and lively. Service ok. But you can't screw up pizza!

Great service

By jbv91 |

A friend and I came here for dinner. We ordered an appetizer, and when the server noticed that we didn't like it, he took away the plate and removed it from our bill. What great service and food!

Fantastic experience, great spot

By SmileyWithAK |

So impressed. First, you can actually make a reservation (bonus points). Then, the place has a great energy - nice lighting and decor, friendly employees and excellent service. On top of that, the food was outstanding. My friend and I shared the zucchini, burrata and tomato pizza. More than enough for two women - also recommend a carafe of Chianti to go with the Italian flare.

Amazing little restaurant

By BrianRossignol |

My wife and I were in NYC for our honeymoon and were going to the Blue Man Group at the nearby Astor Theatre on June 12th. We purposely left plenty of time to eat dinner and took the subway to the area. She found Vic’s on Google Maps and we walked over and were quickly seated outside. Such friendly service!! The food was outstanding and it was a gorgeous evening so the outdoor seating was perfect. I would return in a heartbeat!!

Food was much to salty!

By JHC14 |

Our second time here and were looking forward to another great meal. However, all our food had much to much salt and it ruined our food. Had we not had trains to catch, we would have sent it back. Otherwise, lovely restaurant, good vibes, nice staff. Won't be back.

Amazing brunch!

By CoffeeBeanFaith |

Recommended by a local, Vic’s did not disappoint for brunch. We had a 1:00pm reservation for four people on a Saturday and the place was humming! Energetic and upscale casual, this is how you imagine dining in New York. We shared the ricotta pancakes as an appetizer - by far my favorite! They are deliciously sweet and a perfect starter. Every plate that came out of the kitchen and past our table left me with food envy - I wanted to try it all!

Even better the second time

By TeddyDove |

I had previously been to Vic's with a colleague and so I sent back with my wife. We sat outside on a pleasant sunny day. The server was excellent. She offered us our choice of still or complimentary sparkling water. It was nice of her to mention it as complimentary, since we have been at places before where it was anything but (and others were it was free, but they did not mention it). In any case, we started with the squid salad to share. It was amazing. Cooked perfectly, the fennel was wonderful, not greasy at all. Spectacular. My wife had the brisket, which was very tender and tasty. It came with large potatoes that were ok (a bit too much potato, not quite enough crunch). I had the chicken once again and I have to say it really is the best chicken I have had... the accompaniments just work perfectly. The chicken is so tender. Overall, an excellent lunch at a reasonable price.

Put Vic's at the top of the " restaurants to try" list and you will soon become a regular!

By Carol Ann R |

My husband, daughter, daughter's boyfriend and I went to Vic's after seeing "Girl From the North Country"at the Public Theater (3 short blocks away) at the recommendation of a friend. The play was inspiring and wonderful and, I am happy to say, so was Vic's. Perfect pizza, cacio e pepe was delicious, green beans are taken to a new level, and the "little purse" pasta filled with ricotta and served with lemon butter and chopped hazelnuts was heavenly. Honey semifreddo with almonds was the best we ever had. Wine list is varied and prices are reasonable. Friendly atmosphere. This is now on our " one of the best" restaurant lists!

They continually replenish free bottles of sparkling and flat water!

By Beck20 |

The portions are generous; I ordered asparagus with mint and breadcrumbs as an appetizer, it was DELICIOUS and I was almost too full for my pasta entree which was also excellent. Exciting, pretty place but a tad too loud. Nice open kitchen in the back.

Lovely place

By micia72 |

Very nice place to stay and to eat. Have been on SAT night, full of people but food and service was very good and fast. Baby squids, roasted chicken and steak, excellent! Walking distance from SOHO.

Ladies lunch

By SEEbright2017 |

Superb service on a hot summer day. Our waitress offered smart suggestions of appetizers that were devoured within minutes. Each of our entrees were thoroughly enjoyed. I had roasted cod that was sublime, flaky and light. The table of Five was delighted by the summer fresh pea and mint salad. The burrata and garlic toasts were to die for.

Fabulous stop

By linda m |

What a treat. Fabulous atmosphere, great glass of wine and super pleasant service. I just wanted dessert and a glass of wine, but decided to have a small plate of Borsa “ravioli” (they were slow on this COVID-effected Sunday night, so accommodated graciously) and still had room for the amazing dessert (Honey Semi-Freddo - do save the room!) Enjoy the special treatment as these amazing restaurants stay open amid this pandemic and serve us wayward souls. And tip WELL.

fun for brunch and want to try their dinner!

By jasoncrh |

We were here this weekend with friends who live nearby this place for brunch. Overall, it was a delightful brunch with some interesting takes on classic brunch food. Service was solid and the waitress went out of her way to accommodate us. My friend asked the waitress if they could serve us this stuffed pasta dish that's normally only served at dinner. She checked with the chef and boom - we had a nice serving of it to share for the table. Delicious. I had the baked eggs, which were served in san marzano tomato sauce. My partner had a delicious and filling pasta dish. My friend and her husband both had good - looking egg dishes. Cocktails were solid and tasty. A great brunch on the lower east side/ east village area. I'd like to try for dinner. Would recommend.

Nice atmosphere and excellent food, child friendly

By Postcorner |

Went with our two young ones before a show. Our children our very well behaved and they were welcomed warmly. The inside of the restaurant is moodily lit and very nicely fitted. We had a very comfortable and clean booth. The food was amazing, the pasta in particular was extremely good. Well varied menu and good drinks including cocktails which are not short on the alcohol! Our server was very pleasant and attentive, we did not have to worry about anything. Overall excellent, the only niggle was that we twice confirmed to say it was our daughter's birthday (6). The restaurant prepared nothing for this and had I not mentioned it at dessert she would not even have had the candle and song from our server, which was nice. So it was fixed in the end but special occasions should be remembered on a reservation.

FANTASTIC SPOT!!!

By Brian P |

My friend & I recently ate here on a Wednesday evening & it was a great surprise. They have outdoor seating & a large deep dining room which is surprising bc their frontage is not that wide. We went inside & asked for a table for 2, but surprisingly the host said outside is immediate & inside is a bit of a wait. It has been hot in the city but it was a very comfortable night. We opted outside which was much quieter as the inside volume was at high pitch. It was like 2 different restaurants - inside was hip, festive, party while outside were mostly couples looking for a quiet, intimate dinner. The waitstaff was very sweet & professional. We ordered a pizza as a starter & bc they felt (not us, as we didn't even notice) that it took too long they brought us out another little starter as an apology. We ordered a couple of their signature cocktails which were great. We both ordered the albacore tuna as our entrees & the waitress said the chef recommends rare which is how I prefer my fish, but it came pretty medium & even looked like chicken, however, the pesto-like sauce with eggplant & pine nuts made the dish so delicious anyway. We didn't complain & both ate the entire dish. I would HIGHLY recommend this place & look forward to a date night with my hubby outside or even with a group inside.

Friendly tasty and fun

Very friendly and knowledgeable waiter, food fresh and tasty. Recommend the Lombardi cocktail and focaccia starter.

Neighborhood Gem, Excellent Food, Amazing Service

By paulinastrzelec11 |

We stumbled upon Vic's after a spa day at Great Jones Spa (right next door) and intended to only get a drink so we sat at the bar. From the beginning the bartender was extremely friendly and made us the most amazing drinks. He even customized them a bit for us per our request (extra spicy). He was so engaging with us, we decided to stay for dinner and it did not disappoint. We had the Crispy Sweet Onions, Burrata Pizza and a tomato dish. All delicious. Overall incredible dinning experience. Would highly recommend for friends, family, business or a date night.

Well worth checking out

By cgrockco |

A friend set up our dinner here on a Saturday night. Unique cocktail list, fantastic wine, pasta and pizza were all outstanding. Very lively atmosphere. Truly enjoyable.

Swanky spot nearby Public Theatre

By Katherine C |

Great, trendy place to eat nearby Public Theatre. Beautiful decor. Delicious food...so many sounded tempting that my sis and I split several things, and all were superb. Fun wine list with new things to try. Wait staff and host staff were very efficient and polite. Sis said ladies must check out the cool decor in ladies room with pink flamingo wall coverings! Fun spot.

Great Food Great Service

By Richard S |

We had a saled and pizza for our app - and it was some of the best we ever has - Had the pasta with roasted tomatos and chilies - again it was perfect - even the bread was great - can't wait to go back - also the waitress was very knowledgable and timed everything perfectly.

Fabolous all around.

By ViajeroNJ |

First time eating at this restaurant with family. This is, sincerely, a fabolous all around restaurant. We sat inside as it was a little bit cold. Service was phenomenal and the food was just to die for. We have not had this good food in a while. I will definitely go back.

Brunch

By JPSalik |

What a pleasant lunch with the family, quality in food preparation is marvelous. The pizza cross is light and fluffy and the sauce perfect and fresh just as you will find at the best family restaurant in Italy. The scone light and tasty. The soft eggs are deliciously prepared. The pancakes light and melting in your mouth. Chicken tender and savory. Frittata is great. It is vey pleasant to be getting served fresh and well prepared real food made from great ingredients. We had a great time and we were all complimenting the food. The service was nice and efficient as well.

Great food in a lovely environment

By Lori K |

Excellent food in a comfortable environment. Lots of choices, and especially creative vegetable dishes. Staff are helpful. Wine list is great.

Simply wonderful

By scottr1980 |

I just didnt understand why there were so many mixed reviews. My dinner guests raved about this place after eating there a few weeks ago so i tagged along on their second visit. Any restaurant can be good one time but to be just as good the 2nd time.....well that is not always easy. My guests were just as pleased as they were on their 1st visit. The crispy onion appetizer, burrata, marinated chickpeas and pizza were all delicious. I had the ricotta pasta "purses" which were divine. Little pillows of pasta with toasted hazelnuts and a touch of lemon. Service was friendly and attentive. All in all, this place is definitely a spot i could return to on a regular basis! Simply wonderful and classic. A refreshing change from the non-stop trendy restaurants popping up everywhere.

Best cacio e pepe

By MarC25 |

Christmas season in NYC is magical but crowded, hectic and very cold. Looking for a place to eat comfortably without having to shout to get heard or without hitting someone accidentally due to cramped space can be a challenge. We were lucky to find Vic's, a low-key but excellent place in Soho. We thought we were going to have just a decent meal but were surprised to have our best cacio e pepe this side of the world. It was so good, we had to have another order. We liked the relaxed ambience, you are not pressured to rush your meal.

Saturday Night Dinner

By Hayzi111 |

Edy and I were looking for something Italian in the 7th St neighbourhood and found great reviews so took a chance (it was Saturday night) and rocked up at 19:30. Although busy we managed to get a table for 2 outside and ordered a couole of glasses of pinot Grigio. For a starter we shared tge sesame garlic bread - outstanding! Edy opted for the ravioli with eggplant, chilli, tomatoes, garlic and parmesan which was great and i had the spaghetti with cheese & pepper. It was al dente and up there with the best pasta i've ever had in Venice. Service was fantastic and i would return again & again.

Top of the heap Italian food, pampering service

By careertutor |

Vic's was an option for a small group dinner at a professional conference last week. I am fussy about Italian food, so much offered is mediocre, but Vic's exceeded my expectations of fresh, interesting food and excellent, attentive, but not hovering, service. I tried a special appetizer of fried onions, which sounds pedestrian, but this was a new art form: dusted in parmesan with sun-dried tomatoes. For a lighter entree I chose borsa, little purses of pastry filled with ricotta, hazelnuts, and lemon. Just exceptional. Appetizer was $14, pasta $21: wine by the glass it what pushed the bill up, because everyone but me was drinking red.

Food that exceeds your expectations!

By jpbandsvk |

We enjoyed a wonderful dinner on the outside patio. We started with Garlic Bread, which was dripping with goat butter and garlic, then enjoyed the Burrata with charred leeks, thyme and meyer lemon. We also had a fantastic plate of mixed vegetables. I mean FANTASTIC. Next, we split a large portion of the Borsa (little purses) pasta. We had 6 pieces each although 3 would have been enough as they are so rich. The kitchen is quite generous with the butter and lemon! The best was the Rapini Pizza with crescenza cheese, fresno chilies, and lemon. One of the best pizzas we've ever tasted. The chef is outstanding! You will love Vic's.

Farm to table

By Anne Z |

Excellent selection of fresh organic vegetables and meats from farmers the chef has a relationship with. For lunch, there is a nice selection of different appetizers, pastas, sandwiches, and salads. Service is excellent, with servers that are well versed in the menu items. The food choices are unique because of the little something extra that takes the flavor over the top...like lemon sauce and crushed hazelnuts on the pasta. We had a table of 8, so between all of us, we tried many dishes.

Delicious Food, Great Service

By jelyapt |

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Vic's. We shared several appetizers, and all were delicious. Our favorite was the roasted carrots which we ordinarily wouldn't have ordered, but were really special. We also shared a number of pasta dishes. We had 3 or 4 of the smaller size portions which were still fine for sharing. All were delicious and perfectly cooked. The ricotta bundles were unique and our favorite. The creamy ricotta with nuts was just divine. We also shared the roast chicken which was very moist with just the right amount of surprising heat. Not the usual boring roast chicken which is often served in restaurants. Alas, we were pretty full after the entrees, so we skipped the desserts. However, the choices were interesting and tempting. Kudos to the chef for really fresh and outstanding food. The price was reasonable considering the quality of food and service.

This is a good illustration

By Alain L |

This is a good illustration of the restaurant situation in NYC: this joint is rate 1000 something in the city, I had never heard of it, it would not have been my TA radar. We stumble on it coming out of the Sheen center and it was our fifth choice since all the restaurants in the area were packed. We finally settled at the bar at Vic’s. It was also packed with a young crowd and a good ambiance. The four of us had a good time and shared several plates. Worth noting was the out of this world sweet crisp onions, the calamari and the castelfranco salad , all three excellent. We also tried 3 different pasta which were good. The arriabiata pizza was awful. But overall it was a great night, with the drinks on the pricey side . About $65 pp.

Really nice food, expensive drinks

By Frouke |

We found this place online and went for it. My boyfriend loves pizza, so it was a must for us to visit. And no regrets. The food was won-der-ful! Really delicious. The food had a good price. The beverages (wine and beer) on the other hand were very expensive. In the end we paid more for 4 drinks than 2 main courses and 1 entree. Crazy, but the food is so good, I'm still recommending it.

Uh-Mazing

By dallasiteonbusiness |

Yes! Try this. Definitely wins the award for coolest bathroom decor. The service staff just lovely. Had a fantastic meal.. A burrata, the heirloom roast carrots (a must), the rotisserie chicken, the kale ravioli (one of the best pasta dishes ever). The dessert was a last second decision that I don't regret. Some cream filled donut sitting in chocolate sauce. Ridiculous. Enjoyed a nice hot tea at the end of dinner. I will for sure be coming back here.

Go there!

By BrumBunch |

Great dinner had here last week. Nice, buzzing atmosphere without being pretentious. Service is good, food is excellent. Pasta is fresh and full of interesting flavour combos. In a nice area - good to go for a walk before/after. Would highly recommend! NB. We ordered: calamari olives fried potatoes arancini hangar steak eggplant pasta tomato pizza butter linguine (made as an off menu request) Beer Cocktail All delicious : )

Over-rated, over-priced

By jeff6 |

I guess it's a nice New York scene, if that's your thing, but paying $13 for scrambled eggs (with no sides) isn't cool.

Great before a show at The Public.

By burnsinny |

Lively. Crowded. Great Brunch options. Fast & friendly service. Reasonably priced. Great before a show at The Public.

Friendly Night Out

By HubbellGardiner |

We have nothing bad to say except one thing. The food was excellent from the salad to the chicken and tuna entree. The wine was not expensive and the service was a little stiff at first but the the waiter became accommodating as the evening wore on. The bad thing? My husband went to the bathroom. A worker left the stall and didn't wash his hands.

Great food, atmosphere, and staff!

By DalMark |

Vic's is a fantastic place with traditional choices and some unique things on their menu as well. Dimly lit interior is great for a date night but lively atmosphere makes it a good spot for a group of friends too. Definitely recommend the heirloom citrus salad appetizer. It's different and delicious. Ask for a side of bread, it's grilled so it's also something you just don't get everywhere else. Among the pasta dishes, the cacio e pepe is outstanding! Great staff and the manager Thomas from Australia goes out of his way to make it a welcoming vibe. Good wine list also!

Vic's--did the trick

By M M |

Fabulous, all- around great food. The Atlantc cod was sumptuous, and spaghetti with crab, in an olive and cream-based sautée melted in my mouth. The ambiance was perfect for a business meeting, and with very tasteful decor, was quiet and reflective.

Unfortunate occurrence

By GManners |

Discovered slovenly place this evening. Good selection of Italian door, original menu. Staff was friendly. Issue with a steak which was wrongly cut. Staff was very apologetic, went out of their way to offer compensation and it was clear they were sincere! My personal meal was fine and I enjoyed my experience. Great setting, trendy warm decoration, even if NYC traditionally loud. Will definitely return!

Brand new ! Will give Il Bucco Alimentari a run for their money

By jack s |

It's only been open a few weeks. - Very good food - service and drinks - give it a try. We live down the street and liked Il Bucco Alimentari a lot but was just too popular. We'll go to Vic's until the same thing happens. Which probably wont take long. Also the acoustics are much better. You don't have to yell to be heard.

Great spot and value.

By RI_Travel_Guy |

Very good . Reasonable prices. I had the post chop. Excellent. We split the 50/50 focaccia. It is a must. Very tasty. Food and drinks are very reasonable . Very good service. Good presentation.

Cacio e pepe *chef's kiss*

By Cruiser09308558135 |

I literally had the Cacio e pepe about 30 mins ago and am compelled to come here to say it's one of the best pasta dishes I've ever had. If was absolutely perfectly cooked. I leave NY tomorrow evening and I'm contemplating going back for lunch 😆. A really fabulous meal and inexpensive for what I've experienced from the rest of the Soho's restaurants during the rest of my trip. Oh I also never leave reviews. This is maybe the first I've given on Trustpilot, that's how much this pasta has affected me.

Great food!

By christofferjuhlin |

Wow, what a restaurant! The food was just amazing, I had a pizza and my friend had a pasta and both dishes were really good! Perfect place for a lunch/dinner or whatever! :-)

Spaghetti Alla Chitarra <3 <3

By Emma Z |

Was recommended this place by a local. Wait time was an hour 15 on a Tuesday night, we had drinks at the bar while we waited. I had a great chamomile cocktail, every drink we ordered was delicious. We shared some "Spaghetti Alla Chitarra" that was very delicious, even though the large portion was pretty small.

Fabulous quirky food

By Andrew K |

The food here really is superb. It helps if you like lemon, but although the food seems slightly experimental, the chefs really pull it off. On the downside, the room is a bit noisy, but the service is excellent. We tried the cocktail with olive oil, and, despite initial misgivings, it was excellent. The pizzas are superb.

Sometimes you wonder of the New York restaurant scene. This was previously a restaurant that definitely does not embarrass herself. My memory tells me it has not gotten better. The menu includes dishes to suit most tastes. But there is nothing that really takes off and you wind up with the competition of countless restaurants in the same price range. We got a very nice reception in the bar and that's probably what left the biggest impression

Wonderful service, food spicy

By DinerWithoutBorders |

Came here on a Friday night. The service was fantastic! Exceptionally attentive server. We ordered the beets (super spicy) and unfortunately other then spicy mushy and not very tasty. The shaved cabbage is delicious but again exceptionally spicy. The heirloom carrots very over cooked and mushy, the sunchokes were delicious. The stracciatella was excellent. Not sure what happened that evening but it seemed as if someone in the kitchen spilled spice on a lot of dishes lol. Our server was super attentive and very sweet. There were 2 woman walking around looking at every table, I’m not quite sure what exactly they were looking at, I’m assuming to make sure there was food on the table? However it seemed they were walking and looking around like robots without actually seeing anything as we had 2 empty plates of appetizers on the table and no room and they did not remove the plates not ask anyone to remove them from the table, so that was a bit confusing lol.

Fantastic meal!

A group of 14 ate celebrated a 60th birthday on May 9. We ate at a large table that was right by the pass so that we could see the Executive Chef, Hillary, prepping the food. We had an amazing dinner. Everything was excellent and the wine was superior. Hillary was friendly and informative. I would not hesitate to dine at this lovely restaurant again.

Wonderful Service. Good Pizza.

This was our first time dining at Vic’s. We read a very good review of it. Lunch of two pizzas was enough to share for three. The pizzas were good although I prefer a slightly crispier crust. Very good cappuccino and the flavors of sorbet were also very good. I especially love the fact that they give you seltzer instead of tapwater if you prefer. Definitely a bonus.

Wonderful food, friendly service, nice ambience.

Vic's is well located just off Bowery south of Union Square, near NYU. The modern Italian food is excellent, from scrumptious appetizers through entrees through dessert. Service is completely cordial and the room is spacious and attractive. My only quibble is that service was a little slow. The restaurant was not crowded, so it's not clear why.

Excellent farm-to-table mediterranean

Unique and tasty food in a lively, noisy atmosphere. We had the crispy onion appetizer (not to my taste but my sister gobbled it up) and the farinata which is a pizza made of chick pea flour, peppers and a gooey, yummy cheese. My grilled tuna main course was outstanding and the honey semifreddo was a standout. Easy to get to by subway.

Very energetic place good food but very little

Went with my family on Saturday night. Place was packed mostly young crowd. Lots of energy and noise... Service was good relatively fast and helpful except forgot to give us bread which came in the end of the dinner. We took the Cod which was good. Also took the tortellini, squash, goat cheese, parmigiano brodo, sage, nutmeg but ended up with 7 tiny tortellinis floating in Pasta water (?) This was $21 and suppose to be dinner. Not sure what do they think. Any way we left and went to St. Marks st and had another real dinner...

Great steak pasta and must have garlic bread

By Phan2003 |

I had the flank steak and it was awesome- served cut up and well seasoned in a dish in a way I’ve never had flank steak. Garlic bread was excellent - heavy with butter and olive olive w thick crust. Definitely want to have a reservation at Vic’s or there may be a wait.

Try to Sit at the "Chef's Table"

Had a wonderful dinner here with friends. We were seated in the back of the restaurant right by the kitchen which turned out to be a great treat because we got to watch Chef Hillary Sterling in action and had the benefit of her good advice about the menu. We also had an excellent server named Gio who was knowledgeable about the wine and the food. One of the nice things about this is restaurant is that both vegetarians and non-vegetarians could eat here and neither would feel cheated. Stand out items include the Roasted Squash, the Roasted Chicken with Mustard Seed, the Cresti de Gallo which was a lovely pasta with broccoli, garlic and calabrian chiles. They have great cocktails and an adventurous wine list which introduced me to my first Georgian white wine called Rrkatsiteli, Schuchmann which was only $8 a glass - and you don't find many $8 glasses of wine in NYC. So check it out and sit in the back and watch Chef Sterling do her thing.

Not Quite up to Previous Restaurant in same Location (with same owners)

Five Points used to have a wonderful menu and was a very popular place. This is one of those mysteries as to why the owners close down and open a new restaurant with a new name and a different menu that is not quite up to the their previous standards. Four of us had lunch there yesterday. Some people were seated outside but we were the only table occupied inside ! We ordered some wine and two appetizers to share first. The Burrata was good as was the eggplant appetizer (although too spicy) but both were VERY small portions. The flank steak was ordered by one friend. She enjoyed it but I think she expected it to be within a salad. Instead it came with some watercress on top and that was it - for $27. My Romaine salad was good with anchovies and some beans in it. What did make it special was its fine breadcrumbs and good dressing. The chicken "salad" was ordered by our other two. It was apparently spicy but tasty. My assessment is that the portions were not generous and the menu was a little too gimicky for me. It was all O.K. but it doesn't call me back.

Nice bar

We only had drinks here. But really enjoyed the experience. Nice looking place, with good not too loud music that you can actually talk and hear each other. Drinks were good, service is attentive, cocktails are around $16. Would definitely go back for dinner or brunch!

Tasty food - great ambiance

The food was tasty though vegetarian choice is quite limited in the brunch menu. The service was slow but staff very friendly. Week menu seems better than brunch menu for veggies. Mocktails and soda were tastsy too!

Decent food, average service

The food here is actually pretty good. The chick pea appetizer was delicious. The garlic bread was good, but a little burnt. The atmosphere was okay. We sat outside and our view consisted of a parking garage. The service was pretty slow and our waitress seemed generally disinterested.

Great service and pretty good food make for a nice evening out!

The inside of Vic's is lovely and the service is perfect! The food is not quite as perfect - their wood-fired pizzas, for example, have very tasty toppings but the cheese was a little too well-cooked for my tastes. The portion sizes (other than the pizzas) were also a bit smaller than expected. However, the flank steak was great! The general atmosphere is very energetic and enjoyable, so it makes for a nice group dinner.
