Excellent food, unique tacos such as need tongue and lamb as well as traditional. Mix small plates for sharing with the tacos. Good craft beers, and classic margaritas.

The food was good. The service was fair. wasn’t asked if our beverages needed refilling. My husband doesn’t want to return, because it so very loud.

Stopped here based on some great reviews. It's generally a very busy place and gets easily crowded since they don't have a lot of room (there is an upstairs area, however). The bar especially gets full fast since it seems to be a popular hangout. Best to have reservations, of course. We went later in the evening (7:30-8) so it wasn't too bad. However, if you try to stop in between like 5-7 PM it's super crowded. They have an interesting menu (variations from the usual Mexican fanfare) and I thought the prices were overall reasonable for this area of NYC. The food was very tasty; the draft beer was awesome; great music; awesome atmosphere with a lot of energy; fun place to hang out.

nice Mexican restaurant, definitely recommend going on a Tuesday, loved the cauliflower tacos, i am sure the ambiance at dinner will be better.great bar and very friendly staff

We visited Vida Verde in Times Square, recommended by a local. The drinks were very enjoyable, and the food was tasty. The portions were generous and offered great value for the price. The lively Times Square location made it a fun spot for a casual meal. Overall, a solid choice if you’re in the area and looking for good Mexican food.

Wonderful food. Try chorizo Tacos. The habenero and chipotle sauce is excellent. Upbeat place, lively music, friendly service, and very tasty food. Try it and you will not be disappointed.

This was an amazing Mexican restaurant/bar we found not far from Broadway! This place had a brilliant vibe with great music and the food was out of this world. The staff were so welcoming and couldn’t do enough for us. I had the ultimate Mac and cheese here but we tried lots of other stuff, including there individually made guacamole 😋..we ended up very merry after our visit here, possibly because of their crazy flavoured Margaritas 🍸 I would definitely recommend @vidaverdenyc 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

We didn’t even make it in the door. We were beautifully dressed for a drink after my best friend just had a baby. Had a small stroller and just wanted a drink and good food. Immediately upon coming in a gentleman- possible manager- came up and said “No babies!” We said are you serious? He said “Too loud!” And literally waved us out. Ummm that’s for the mom to decide. What a joke.

Made a reservation for a light early dinner on way out of the city. Seated immediately. Service was great- attentive but not obnoxious. The Mai Tai mocktail was delish! Guacamole and the Mexican cobb salad great, as well. The little bites of fried cheese on the salad?! Yum. Perfect spot for us, and we can't wait to go back.

My palette may not be as sophisticated as some on this forum, but I have eaten a lot of tacos in my day and the ones we had at Vida Verde were the best I've ever had. Everything was a delight including the service.

We booked into Vida Verde and were shown a table straight away downstairs, I asked if it had a rooftop bar, so up the stairs we went to a nice area outside. Unfortunately no views, but the staff, food, drinks and area are great for those wanting to get away from every other drab NYC bar and into the open air. A good crowd were there with attentive wait staff ensuring that we were felt welcome and we were left feeling a return visit is in order. If you like outdoor dining and mexican food with a great drink selection go here.

What a wonderful place to stumble upon. The wait staff were friendly and efficient. Food was really tasty. Seafood ceviche and veggie burrito were great. Margaritas were excellent. It gets very busy the closer you get to noon so go early.

There were nine of us and they took good care of us. The bill was almost four hundred dollars and the food was not great. The guacamole made table side was pretty good. We had a nice time.

My husband & I have been eager to try this new neighborhood restaurant once it Opened. The Staff was so attentive & friendly and the Restaurant was beautifully decorated . We ordered a bunch of small plates. The Menu was Mexican Food with a twist. The carnitas sliders were unusual as they were savory Meat nestled in a little pocket bread bun as opposed to inbetween a bun.The chicken mole skewer was deep fried on a stick on top of a delicious mole sauce . My mouth was engulfed with the unusual flavor combinations, however the dish I thought was the best and not to be missed was the Toritos which is a Bacon Wrapped Shrimp served on a tortilla with a crunchy slaw. My mouth exploded with taste! Truly unbelievable. This was not like any Mexican Food I have ever had.The Cocktails were also unusual too. The Frozen Viva La Frida which is a Tequila Drink has roasted red pepper purée . You would not think those Flavors would mix well however I am here to tell you they do. I highly recommend this restaurant for a meal you will not forget. Susan Gomez- Pizzo

My wife and I are frequent visitors to Manhattan, but hadn't tried Vida Verde until last night. Fantastic! Atmosphere is upbeat. Music is great. Staff very friendly. Food was outstanding. We ordered the guacamole....wow!! We each had tacos, and they were fantastic. Don't think of this as your typical local Mexican wannabe restaurant. This place is awesome! My wife and I said to each other as we were leaving that we don't understand why more visitors don't get out to restaurants like this one while experiencing New York. We'll be back.

Stopped here for drinks and apps before dinner. Really enjoyed the drinks we had as well as some small plates of food to share. Great location right in the center of all things touristy. If hadn't known it was there we would have walked right by. Only complaint is that is is LOUD! Be sure to check it out.

Well what can I say about this bar. We met a group of friends here as we were coming to the end of our fantastic trip to New York. We had an absolutely fantastic night. The music was brilliant and the cocktails even better!!

Outrageously priced cocktails that are hard to drink. Food is mediocre at best. The best quality of this place is the aesthetics and scenery of the roof top area and that’s it.

The experience at Vida Verde was excellent. The food was delicious and the Margarita's were the best ever. Excellent tacos and quesadillas. The atmoshpere was amazing. Maybe a bit loud but we loved it.

TL;DR: If you like bad service, barely mediocre food and being intimidated into giving a big tip for said bad service, then this is the place for you. The only reason I'm giving it two stars was because the margaritas were actually pretty good. So, if anyone is looking for awesome drinks only, then this is the place to go, but make sure you stay on the first floor. However, my boyfriend and I were very disappointed with the food and the service when we went last Saturday night. First, the food was just okay. Specifically, the carnitas on my taco was extremely dry and lacked flavor. (My boyfriend also commented that the amount of food he got was not enough but more on that below). If you want really good tacos, just go to salvation taco on the east side, the tacos there are so much better. But honestly, since moving here from California, I have a lot of trouble finding decent Mexican food; so I would have come back here if it wasn't for the terrible service. As I mentioned earlier, my boyfriend didn't get enough to eat so he wanted to order more food. It took at least 10 to 15 minutes for someone to even notice that we were done eating and trying to get someone's attention to order more food and there were like maybe four other tables being served. (It was rather early in the night so it wasn't too busy yet). Finally, a busboy comes over and we tell him that we want to order more food and he says that he will go get our server (yeah, the server hadn't even checked on us). Another 10 minutes goes by and our server still hasn't checked on us or even asked us what we wanted to order. At this point we decide that we'll just go somewhere else. FINALLY, about another 10-15 minutes later, the server comes over and asks what we would like to order and we just tell him that we changed our minds and that we would like the check. The restaurant uses one of those electronic hand-held POS systems to pay checks. So he first apologizes and blames his lack of service on the busboy saying that he didn't tell him the table number (not really sure why he couldn't just ask him what table number it was, but whatever). Our server then hands me the hand-held electronic system so that I could pay and the server literally stood over me to make sure I gave him a tip bigger than the $5 he deserved. Needless to say, we won't be going back there anytime soon.

Loved everything about this restaurant! Hip decor, friendly and attentive wait staff and excellent food and drinks! They will make your margarita just how you want it... mine was less sweet and I added a few slices of Serrano peppers. The guacamole made at table and the sauces were very fresh and flavorful. Had pork carnitas and shrimp tacos. Loved it all!

++ Service was great, ++ Ambience ++ Cocktails + Wings - Tacos; one the worst I've ever had!!! The picture from the previous guests don't reflect the quality of what we've got! I don't know what happened. Apparently they didn't change the cook etc. We wil probably only come back for drinks...

Sat at the bar had margaritas which were excellent. Really rated the food which we also ate at the bar. Nachos and fajitas were very good. Very friendly service. Would visit again.

The atmosphere is so nice and welcoming and the Music which plays is also good . The food is amazing and has so much flavour . We have come here for my daughters 21st and we were very impressed.

This place is a little bit hidden and you have to actually be looking for it to find it. Thus, it's a great place for the locals who know about it while still being in mid-town. It has a fun young vibe to it, with music and the place split into a bar/restaurant. I recommend the nachos and about any drink on the list. I recently tried the Fake News (haha) and it was wonderful. Prepare for a great meal, but a loud environment.

As a tourist it's not often you visit a new restaurant, you tend to do your research and take the safe option. We were lucky to visit Vida Verde on a rainy night and discovered a gem. We were impressed from the start with the effort put into the decor - interesting paintings and murals adorn all of the walls. The place is quite loud but has an excellent bar with some innovative cocktails - we sampled several, all good. It would be easy to spend the night at the bar and miss out on the excellent Mexican food. After very good Guacamole we tried the tacos - lamb and beef tongue as well as the pulled pork. All were excellent. Service was also attentive. Reasonably priced but sophisticated Mexican cuisine. If I was an NYC resident, Vida Verde would be a regular haunt.

Had gone here for a dinner a few times in the summer while NYC and the food and service were great. My sister was running her first NYC Marathon and we wanted to have a special dinner celebration for her. Cecil, the events coordinator did a fabulous job of coordinating the party reservation for us. We even had to do a last minute booking adjustment the day off the race and they accommodated us without question. Our runners even received a complimentary drink on the house. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals and the service was spot on. The drinks are pricey but they are worth it. They do not offer up the typical drink fare. And the guac of course is delicious! The decor is fun, bright and kitschy. You will not be disappointed with his venue. If you visit in the spring/summer be sure to check out the roof top seating area.

My wife and I visted Vida Verde on a Taco Tuesday this July. It was the after-work hour so we thought it may be packed--and it was busy, but we were pleasantly surprised with a colorful and well-designed décor and a great vibe. The three floors still left plenty of space despite the amount of people and the staff knew how to handle the crowd. The service was excellent. We met Vida who seemed to be doing the work of three bartenders and she sill made us feel like the only two people in the place. She took our order, while pouring drinks for others, and when we stepped out onto the roof deck, she personally came and found us to tell us our food was ready. We had the chips and salsa and the chicken tacos. Both were excellent, and because it was Taco Tuesday, our bill was much cheaper than a typical midtown restaurant. If you’re looking for a place with great food, great service and a lot of smiling faces, check out Vida Verde!

Amazing Mexican in the heart of New York. If you live in NY or visiting this place was great. I had the Ribeye tacos and queso with chorizo appetizer! Both were perfect! Highly recommend!

Vida Verde is a cute little restaurant in Midtown. The food was tasty. At lunch time I found it to be a little tight between tables. The service was good but it appeared to be short-staffed. Our food still came out in a timely manner and overall it was a good meal. I truly enjoyed the mac and cheese which I was surprised was even on the menu.

We were in NYC for my 60th birthday. Dinner here was freshly and simply prepared, with the focus on flavour and texture. The nachos were different from any nachos we had had before and I loved them while my husband was so-so about them. Let them mix you a margarita with very little sweetness: I will never go back to the sweeter variety - it was delicious. The service was friendly and timely, and they treated me to a special birthday dessert!

This is the best Mexican food I’ve ever tasted! Great cocktails as well. Loud music and a party-like atmosphere, so if you’re into that this is the place to go. Try their steak quesadilla! Also, they have a rooftop terrace where you can drink all kinds of margaritas.

Very noisy, even at 6pm, but the food was fantastic. Got the carne asada tacos (which were gluten free - I have celiac) and shared a side of rice and beans with my friends at the table. Service was quick and efficient and the restaurant offered a 15% discount since we showed our tickets to Beetlejuice that night. I wish I’d tried something from their drinks menu because we were there during happy hour - something to look forward to when I go back!

Fun Mexican place. Good menu selection. Not too loud. Food was good and reasonably priced. Service was attentive.

Random find but we had a great time. Great atmosphere!!! Highly recommend this place. We went here after a long day and needed good service and we found it.

I was invited out one night to this amazing bar Vide Verde which is owned by the same owners of Tanner Smith, another great bar in Manhattan. Vide Verde has a Mexican based theme. The internal decor is sophisticated, charming, with the presence of the cultural influence through out the venue. There is also an upstairs portion for seating and a smaller bar. I absolutely loved that the food tasted fresh. For someone who is vegetarian or vegan you may enjoy a few of the items I thought were okay but I will say hands down order the chicken wings. The sauce they use to make them is DELICIOUS. Lucas and Alan bartend there so ask for them! Lucas was beyond good at his job. Even under all the pressure he kept it friendly, courteous, and made sure you knew he was going to be with you shortly. My order mattered to him and that goes along way. Amazing service. To top it off, the drinks were not only different and strong, they were fantastic! All around great job guys I will definitely be back<3

We didn't eat here, we only came for drinks. They were extremely overpriced, but very delicious! The barmen were very good, the atmosphere was loud and young, but enjoyable.

My husband and I stopped here for a drink and a bite before a show. It’s a fun bar but a little dark and loud for a restaurant. Good frozen margaritas but small portions. My husband liked the enchiladas and my rib eye tacos were tasty but tiny (maybe 9 bites). We went up to the roof for a final cocktail but the drinks were more creamy than frozen. I’d come back for happy hour with friends, but not for dinner.

Hands’ down the friendliest bar I’ve ever been in, as an out of towner. Staying in hotel across street, walked over the first night - sat solo at the bar - and came back the next 2 nights. Warmest welcome ever from Luke, Trevor, Lule (not a typical reception for a middle-aged woman - painful but true). The most friendly, intelligent, delightful people — generous pours, altogether a fantastic local bar.

We had the nicest time here!! We did a little research and it looked like it had some fun cocktails. The inside is SO beautiful! So many colours and so fun and bright! Loved walking around and checking it all out. Really creative cocktails to suit the theme. Next time we need to try the food!

This is a great little hidden gem. It was right around the corner from our hotel so we stumbled across it. It’s a cute restaurant. We shared a punch bowl drink, nachos, chicken enchiladas and some fish tacos. The drink was tasty as well as the food. Our serve was awesome. I’d definitely return on our next visit to NYC!

My friend (local) and I were just wandering around the neighborhood after a lovely morning walking around Central Park (my favorite NY activity) looking for a place to eat. We stumbled across this and I am so glad we did! The interior is absolutely gorgeous. We had brunch and it was amazing! We both got the breakfast torta and it was delicious. Especially with their extra hot hot sauce! I got my eggs poached instead of over easy, just because that's how I prefer my eggs. Wonderful environment and bar service was lovely!

I was so excited to see that there was a new place to eat in my neighborhood so when I decided to enjoy lunch here, It definitely lived up to my expectations. The interior is so pretty and festive and The server was so kind. I love that there was a affordable Lunch Special although I wasn't a fan of the Entree choices. The Guacamole & Chips were the BEST, so good that I had to order them twice. I'd definitely come here again preferably during Happy Hour so I can see how live it gets with a lot of people. Oh! The music was a nice plus.

Perfect and very cosy. A very good address in New York near central station. Music and tacos are perfect if you want to have a latino expérience in New York

Met up with family and friends here for a late lunch around 3pm. There were 9 of us and the host kindly arranged to move tables around to seat us all. Our server Ziyya was very patient and helpful while we decided what to order. My Carnitas tacos were excellent my son’s wings perfectly cooked everyone else was very happy with their orders and the cocktails and wine also very good. Very interesting interior and the seats are not too close to your neighbors the ambience is warm and colorful.

Having walked 11km we were just looking to find somewhere to sit down and have a rest. 2 hours and plate of nachos later, we were still there! Great atmosphere, great bartenders (especially Vida), would recommend.

The rooftop bar here offers an amazing view and the cocktails are very strong, a great value for money! We visited on an impromptu visit and are very happy to have stumbled across this place.

Great place , pretty decor with nice atmosphere. Lovely staff Lots to choose from on the menu! Fish tacos were great The passion fruit margaritas were amazing!

Great place to visit! Great atmosphere, great food, great cocktails and good value! Well worth the visit during happy hour!

Had lots of fun at this lovely bar. The margaritas were on point and Vida our barmaid was unreal! This is the kind of service that makes you go back.

Great spot to stop for a cocktail and some friendly service. Our bartender, Savannah was awesome and makes a killer good margarita. Happy we stopped by!!

I came here for a going away party for a colleague. The food was really good. Lots of options and good shareable dishes.

I found this restaurant through other reviews and it did not disappoint. Shrimp enchiladas were wonderful and the margaritas delicious. The guacamole was just ok since I like it a bit more salty. The waiter was attentive and offered great suggestions. Highly recommend if you’re in the mood for delicious and fresh Mexican food.

My friends and I came here just for cocktails on a Saturday night. Great decor and welcoming bartenders. They were descriptive when we asked what the difference in the different types of margaritas there were (perfect vs. sweet). The margaritas were delicious and fresh (no artifical fillers). The menu looked good but unfortunately we weren't hungry to try the food.

Great atmosphere, great music and great vibe. The doormen and staff were really friendly and attentive. The music was great, the drinks were nice and everyone was enjoying themselves. I would definitely recommend.

This place should be busy on a Saturday night. But it wasn't, which is a shame because the food is delicious, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere is cool. We were a party of seven and were treated excellently by our waiter and the manager. We enjoyed some cocktails. Mine was a tad too strong for my taste, but it had potential. We shared the loaded guacamole which had a lot of accompaniments to make it outstanding, especially the shishito peppers and the chips. We had the wonderful homemade queso fresco with the corn relish and savory sauce and crickets. Definitely get this, even if you don't want to try the crickets. We also shared the carnitas sliders with wonderful pickled onions. I had the broccoli tamale which was good, but I would not necessarily order it again because the mole chicken skewers and the chorizo and lamb tacos were outstanding. The manager sent over the heirloom potatoes which were superb, I would definitely get them again. A mark of a true chef-- to make the lowly potato something to rave about! Even though we were so full, we managed to eat dessert! We shared the marvelous tres leches cake, which was cut into small pieces. And all of this was accomplished pre-theatre, on time. This restaurant definitely deserves to be crowded every night!

Myself and my wife are so glad we stumbled across this place on way back to our hotel. When walking past the vibe looked incredible and great fun so we had to go in. We took our seats at the bar, the bartender was one of the best we have ever been served by, so happy enjoying himself and mixing wonderful cocktails. The music was banging people were dancing it was such a great place to party. We had a few cocktails and beers and came out smiling not too cheery the next morning but well worth it. Certainly a great night spot to have a party great fun and not too pretentious.

There is a really vibrant atmosphere at this Mexican restaurant. The menu was (for British eyes anyway) rather confusing, but certainly the service provided was outstanding from our waitress. The cocktails were certainly excellent, food was decent. Quite expensive though.

Reserved for a party for six pre theater on a Saturday night. The restaurant was relatively empty at this time but the music was blasting and there was not a quiet table to be found. Once seated we were served promptly and everything was tasty. We were out in an hour since they don’t serve decaf coffee. We had plenty of time to find A coffee bar and still get to our show in plenty of time. Recommend the Mexican Cobb salad and the fish tacos. Maybe more enjoyable at lunch, but I would not go back with anyone with whom I actually want to have a conversation.

The location is cute for a 1 time visit only! Went after work with friends to check it out. We usually try different locations. Nice décor though, but music too loud. We were not able to have a decent conversation and it was 4 of us. It was also very warm inside and the tables are kind of tight. The serving portions are small. The tacos were good, but we felt that the double tableside guacamole was still small & bland. As much as I love sangria, what really surprised me is how much they charge for it, and it's not a big pitcher! They only serve one size and to me that's a small size! Plus the cup you get for the sangria is a small juice cup, not a wine glass. Not much to choose for dessert. The tres leche was horrible. Too soggy we didn't eat it. This is really like a tapas place if you want to eat light. We didn't even have full meals. The damage with tip was over $400!

The hostess was dreadful, no greeting and just a blank stare when we gave our name for the rez, but our waiter was awesome and the food/cocktails were delicious (birra quesadilla, carnitas tacos). Vibe was lively and on point.

Ate here before a Saturday night show and had a delicious meal. Only complaint was that it's noisy nad the background music is too loud with too much bass.

Dinner with a colleague. Started with very tasty chips and salsa. The waiter really pushed the yucca fries and I wish we hadn’t listened to him......the first few were, at best, interesting, but as they cooled, they became really dense and starchy. I had a chicken burrito which was served with a small salad. Frozen margarita was nice. My colleague had 3 draft beers and an enchilada. Bill before tip was $86.00. Pricey.

I am not one who complains but I need to make the management team of this new restaurant, which I assume, is working hard on making an impression, aware of the poor handling of their customers. I called earlier today to make a reservation for 6 people and the lady I had on the phone told me that they were not taking reservations until 9pm, but to hold on. After about 7 min, she picked up the phone and asked me what my call was regarding to. So I explained that we just spoke and that I was waiting for a table for later tonight. She said “we don’t take reservations tonight”. So I asked whether there was any particular reasons why I waited on the line for that long if she couldn’t take any bookings at all? She responded that it was my choice to wait and she hung up on me. Clearly she had completely forgotten about me, and apparently also forgotten to apologize. Obviously quite shocking attitude towards new customers and I hope that the management team will improve their customer service standards, which are so far, left to be desired.

Enjoyed sangria (infused with bourbon) and a "lunch box" for a pre-show snack. Aaron at the bar was fantastic and the guacamole and chicken tacos were delicious. The homemade hot sauce, fun atmosphere and corn tortillas made this place feel elevated among all the theatre district places nearby. We will definitely be back.

Midtown Manhattan has lots of great bars and restaurants, but the newish neo-Mexican hot spot on west 55th street is particularly special. Great food, delicious $6 beer specials, with roomy and colorful decor makes this bistro style venue (established less than a year) my favorite after-work meeting space. The male host helping serve our writer’s group free snacks on a Tuesday was especially friendly and efficient. Will certainly come again!

Place looks nice, but not impressed with the drinks. Went out for drinks and wanted a good margarita, but didn’t find it here. Wife had sangria and wasn’t impressed either. We are good for 2 to 3 drinks, but here we just finished our one and left. $14 dollar drinks, not filled to the rim and not all that great = not returning. We noticed than none of the bartenders drinks got filled to the rims as he was making them. Glasses not all that big and then not filling to the top is also a problem at that price. Much better places around

Had a small birthday dinner here. Everyone looking of questionable drinking age was proofed at the door before being seated. Large guac was $25 - chips and salsa $8. Music was loud - a bit too loud to carry on a conversation with anyone but the person seated right next to you. Cool neon lights. Decent service - needed a bit more attention for water, extra chips, plate clearing but restaurant was busy on a Sunday night. The brussels sprout tacos were terrific - and were just tacos without sides - so warm up with some apps or order some salads or sides. I would go back. Nice labeling of menu for food choices - vegan, vegetarian, GF, etc. Well done.

What a great find! Great food (let´s call it ´Mexican with a twist), excellent service, great atmosphere. When in NYC: go to Vida Verde

We went for drinks, planning to go elsewhere for dinner, but ended up staying. Service was great, even after the restaurant was more crowded ( we stayed for a few hours). Dinner was great, lots of interesting choices. I am not the biggest fan of mole sauce, but the enchiladas with mole was fabulous. We would definitely go back.

We stopped in to Vida Verde after going to MOMA. We had a lovely meal by sharing guacamole, veggie tacos, mushroom quesadillas, yucca fries and an unusual beat salad. The atmosphere is lively with a dj playing Spanish pop- loud but not too loud to converse. The bartenders made many interesting cocktails.

Most untasty Mexican food I have tried. Service unpersonal we felt unwelcome from the first moment we entered the restaurant.

This place is coooooooool! Amidst all the covid-stuff going on, we were safely whisked up to their patio which has a huge, nice mural and spaced/blocked seating. We were "early lunch" on a Saturday, so it was very quiet (3 table of 2), and it was perfect! A decent craft beer selection, wide range of Mexican classics, and ample vegetarian choices, 'Vida Verde' has something for everyone. We had: chiliquiles and cauliflower tacos, plus a few pints, and strolled away smiling and satiated. Definitely check out this great, nuevo-Mexi spot soon!

Fabulous dinner fare before the theater. We were in a hurry and ordered small plates to share. Great assortment to choose from - we LOVED the Carnitas Sliders (4 nice sized), Shrimp Flautas (4 with great toppings) and dry rubbed chicken wings (more than 4). The waiter was wonderful! We enjoyed our meal so much we returned after the show and sat at the bar for drinks! Great find and we will return!

We’d read the reviews and decided to try it. Started with guacamole. It came as 3 different flavors. Texture was very smooth. Chips homemade but had trouble with the weight of the guacamole. It was a dark table. We used the QR code to look at the menu. We had 3 brisket empanadas. Very good. We both had 3 crispy fish tacos. Delish! It happed to be Tuesday so we got $10 margaritas. I tried a peach and a tamarind. Everything was was outstanding. The vibe and decor was funky cool. We had no problem finishing our food before the 90 minute mark. At that point we could risk eviction. We were treated well and will return again.

Heaps of Mezcals to choose from, great food and i really like the decor. Its friendlier than the front door looks. Go once and enjoy a drink and a meal at the bar and have a good time. Go the next time and realize there is an upstair bar where you can have an out of the way area. Only to realize that there is a rooftop courtyard that you "will go to next time". I've not acutally made it to the rooftop so who knows, maybe there is a next level still. Definitely a midtown bar worth visiting.

Came to meet friends the servers were nice and the table side guac was good but pricey. Taco Tuesday was a great deal half price tacos.

Looking for some amazing drinkswith a small but great menu look no further. This place has an extensive Tequila list and amazing Margaritas! The table side Guacamole is fresh and delicious. The steak quesadilla awesome. Unique place with awesome food and drinks and friendly service.

This restaurant presents a very odd mixture of good and bad experience. It is a very small Mexican restaurant on New York City’s west side at 55th St. Its small size justifies the rule that you may not spend more than 90 minutes at dinner. A weird rule, but understandable. The weirdness begins before you ever reach the restaurant. You make A reservation online, and then the barrage of text messages begins. You are asked by text to confirm your reservation. If you happen not to check your watch for a few hours, you were asked again to confirm. After you confirm, you start getting other text messages reminding you of the time of your reservation. And then before your reservation, you get yet another text message telling you that you have 30 minutes to reach the restaurant according to your reservation. This is extremely annoying. We arrived at the restaurant, and the atmosphere seemed really good. Strong up-tempo current music playing, nice decorations. I had made my reservation one week before we appeared. We were shown to a table that was so small and so dark that it was unacceptable. The table could not of held more than a bowl of chips with some salsa, and it was so dark one could not read the menu, if they had only given your menu. As in most restaurants, you must scan the QR code. No big deal there. After our protest, we were shown to a much nicer table which actually had a light so we could see each other. We look forward to nice size frozen margaritas. The problem was, the only margaritas that were frozen were the pomegranate margaritas. I’m thinking,” you must be joking. This is a Mexican restaurant and you don’t have a range of frozen margaritas?” The pomegranate margarita was served in an extremely small glass. I suppose the next glass size down is a shot glass. It was super sweet. Not a very good drink. Guacamole was extremely ordinary. The salsa for the chips was pretty good. Being vegetarian, we ordered a plate of nachos. This was nothing more than yet more chips piled high with a little bit of cheese. We were told there would actually be black beans in the nachos in the form of purée. One would need a microscope to find the black bean purée. To remedy the situation, we ordered a side of black beans. They were quite good, but one must wonder, “Why couldn’t they put the black beans into the nachos in the first place? “. The way they were served, the nachos were awful. They were much better with the addition of the black beans. We ordered a side of plantains, and these were very good. Our waiter was like a distant relative: someone you see about once a year. So— be forewarned. My recommendation? Order some chips, some salsa, a side of black beans, and some plantains. You have a nice small meal to share. That is as good as you were going to do here

all I wanted to do in NYC was go to rooftop bars I had seen pictures of this place and it was close to our hotel so was excited to go there, the ladies on the door weren't very welcoming so put us off to the a bad start, should of left then!! wanted to have a drink on the rooftop then have dinner but they couldn't understand that, said we could have a table for dinner now but not later, I tried asking if they were fully booked but couldnt get an answer - odd! anyway we went and had a drink on the rooftop, what a disapointment that was, not sure when the pictures on instagram NYBucketlisters were taken but wow, it was a big let down. brightly coloured furniture but some of the tables were rusted so that was disgusting, it was happy hour so we got 2 margarita's, $28 (so $40 aud) in happy hour!!!!! and they were horrible, worst margarita's I have ever had, I couldn't drink mine and my forced himself to drink his cause of the cost but they were terrible, the bar lady had a personality of a sponge and instead of clearing tables or wiping down something she was sitting behind the bar on her phone looking like she was bored out of her mind can't comment on the food as needless to say we didn't stay any longer

Went for pre show snack and a drink. The food was great! The drinks as well! Very friendly staff. Will definitely come back.

Everyone was nice and friendly. Service a little lacking. The Guatemala dip left something to be desire. The burritos were good.

If you haven't had birria yet, please do! It's beefy, saucy, flavorful, just gosh darn delicious. The tacos come with consome (dipping sauce), dip and eat, dip and eat, gets messy, but worth it. There's also a salsa looking hot sauce, way too much heat for me, but it's there if you like spicy. The rice bowl can be plain, no meat, but we added birria to that too. A bit salty, but it didn't stop me. The restaurant has 3 levels. The main level is livelier, dark ambiance, and music playing very audibly. The 2nd level has another bar, brighter, you can hear the music but I was sitting at the bar and was able to have conversation without yelling. The last one is their rooftop, I didn't have time to check it out, but we were told they don't serve food there. Reservations is a good idea. They were busy on a Saturday night around 7pm. I got lucky and got the last 2 seats at the bar on the upper level (no reservations needed for bar).

I enjoyed this spot. They have a nice variety of margaritas, I had the peach and the watermelon. The food and music is good too!

This place has good food and drinks. Our wait Ralph was super friendly and helpful. I will be back here the next time I am NY.

Really a fun spot with good food - 3 problems: the margarita market seemed to offer no service; a very noisy environment precluding any conversation, and a cost more in line with an elegant restaurant. I know it is Manhattan but still.

This place has great ambiance with fun music playing, fairy lights all around and art around the walls. Fun drinks perfect place to go with friends for a small bite and some drinks

Cute spot. If you go for brunch, there are only 3 menu items to choose from. Food was great. Vibe was nice. Very tasty food.

Met up with a friend while on a work trip. Great place for drinks and apps. Used a buy one margarita get one free coupon from the yelp app. The host offered to check out coats. I would say the nachos were a little pricey for what we got. I think we paid like $8 for chicken and there was barely any chicken! However, the music and company was great and we would definitely go back.
Great stop to swing in for tapas/drinks!
Hey we had a wonderful time at Vida Verde! Came in for some drinks and small plates. We left very happy with the ambience, flavors, and hospitality from our wonderful server, Oriana (hope I spelled correctly). She was wonderful!
