A great lunch!

By ianshamshey |

It was the middle of the afternoon and I had yet to have lunch so I was looking for a place for an early dinner. I passed by Westville-their new outpost in Hell's Kitchen. I decided to go in. I was seated, water came to the table and I was given a menu. I looked it over and decided on the Turkey burger but instead of French fries, I asked for a small side salad. It was not a problem. The Turkey burger came with lettuce, tomato, onions and pickles. The burger was also very thick and delicious. The side salad came with onions and shredded carrots. It was reasonably priced and the waitstaff was attentive and accommodating. I would recommend and return.

My first visit

This is on the calmer fringe of the theater district. We went for Sunday lunch. It was a good menu, despite being for Brunch. Noise was a little high. Waitstaff was prompt and patient. Prices are gentle. Good for vegetable plates. Turkey burger was dry.

Pleasant surprise

A friend and I were looking for a place with outdoor seating for lunch yesterday and decided on Westville Hell's Kitchen. Although there were only 4 seats and a narrow table, we adjusted to the outdoor accommodations fairly quickly. Our meals were wonderful. My friend ordered French toast on challah bread and it was thick, fluffy and flavorful. He also had a side of roasted sweet potatoes, which were properly cooked, and drizzled with a good sauce. I had a well-sized Greek salad, which came with some bread and a very tasty, pesto-vinaigrette dressing. My side order of yucca fries weren't the least bit greasy and were enjoyable. The service was very friendly and efficient. The restaurant got very busy but the staff still managed to deliver our food within a reasonable wait time. We'd definitely return.

must do if you love vegetables

love the new concept of incorporating all different vegetables on the menu all cooked in a different way, great plates for sharing and sampling loads of dishes. superb choices and must do for all vegetarians.

Some of the best value and tastiest food we ate in New York - and great service!

I’d highly recommend this place. They had some nice offers (wine for $8 for example) and the food was superb. The staff were incredibly friendly (there was also a very hot ginger guy who was lovely :) ) The lady who served us was so warm and genuinely friendly which was quite unusual based on the service we received elsewhere. Definitely work a visit if you’re in NYC

Fantastic vegetarian dinner

By LadiesVoices |

I’m not a vegetarian but I like to eat vegetarian as often as I think of it. My best friend encouraged me to get the Market Plate, a vegetarian entree that allows you to choose four things from a list. I had the broccoli, the roasted Brussels sprouts, the garlic mashed potatoes, and the seared tofu. Unbelievable!

Excellent food

We had brunch here on Mother’s Day. It was so good! I loved all the food options (so many vegetable sides to choose from!!) and everything we ordered was unique and delicious. I did have a problem with my meal but they corrected it quickly and even took it off the bill. Excellent customer service! I would 10/10 recommend this restaurant to anyone! Small and quaint atmosphere and all the staff were super friendly and helpful.

Kudos to those who made this a great dining experience

I cannot speak highly enough about the food from Westville Hell's Kitchen! There were so many choices. Both my partner and I were thrilled with the Market Plates. There was a wonderful assortment of dishes to choose from and each was so fresh, flavorful and the portions were abundant! In addition, the carrot cake was divine! It was hard to believe it was gluten free. Due to circumstances, we needed for the meal to be take-out. All was packed with care. I felt so nourished and the price was right. Kudos to Westville Hell's Kitchen

Quality Comfort Food

I'm so happy that Westville opened a Midtown West (aka Hells Kitchen) location. It's a packed, casual and quick service place with very good basics like real mac and cheese, quesadillas, burgers and fancy hot dogs. Highly recommended for an easy going dinner or just a draft beer and appetizer

Excellent food, extensive menu

We found this place when looking for somewhere to have dinner the last night of our trip to nyc. I looked on OpenTable and this was walking distance to our hotel and so we made a reservation. The food was phenomenal! Lots of vegetarian/vegan options as well as meat options. What stuck out to me was the extensive list of market table veggies available as sides. This wasn’t your typical place where you order an entree and your side choices are all starches or a side salad. There are many choices! I had a sirloin which was seasoned and cooked perfectly and for sides I chose yuca fries with chipotle mayo and peas with carmelized onions and bacon. My husband had a chicken cutlet and for sides he chose garlic roasted broccoli and sweet and sour Brussels sprouts. We almost got extra sides just because it was hard to choose but in the end it would have been too much food. Portion size was great and prices were very reasonable for NYC. We travel there a lot and are always looking for new restaurants and this one is definitely one I’m glad we found!

Great food

We came for our first time and ate lunch outside. We were wowed by the excellent food and large portions. I ordered the Southwestern Chicken Ceaser salad which was filled with flavors. Hubby loved his BBQ Brisket sandwich and fabulous crispy fries. Can’t wait to try it for dinner

Fresh and delicious

By Nolinice |

A fairly large restaurant with wonderful menu choices. The specials seemed particularly appetizing and they were. My chicken parmigiana with burrata, and a side of salad was very fresh and very tasty, a good tomato sauce. As extra side I had the zucchini with cherry tomato and mozzarella, also very fresh and full of flavour. The yucca fries quiet good too

Nice atmosphere

Delicious food, reasonably price Hells Kitchen restaurant

By Alice Q |

Restaurant is small and has a hip vibe. I had a delicious salad - very fresh with a tasty dressing. The chocolate chip cookie and cappuccino were the perfect ends to the meal. Service was friendly and attentive. Everything was reasonably priced for Manhattan. Will definitely go back if I am in the area.

Slightly disappointing

Stopped here for lunch whilst passing through Hell’s Kitchen. The staff were all lovely and attentive and the menu is an interesting take on comfort food. The food arrived relatively quickly, it looked very uninspiring and tasted similarly bland, which was a shame.

an excellent dinner!

I had a yen for a burger and had been to Westville's before [pre-pandemic] and made my way there. It was minimally populated with people sitting outside and inside. I was directed to a table and water and a menu arrived shortly after I was seated. Although I wanted a burger, I looked over the whole menu to make sure I didn't miss anything I many have wanted more than the burger. After perusing, i opted for the burger. The burger comes with pickles, lettuce, onions and tomato-other sides such as cheese-$2, caramelized onions or mushrooms are extra. Instead of french fries I opted for the arugula salad with a tasty dressing. The burger arrived shortly after placing my order [medium well] and was delicious. It was cooked perfectly. My waitress was very accommodating and attentive and stopped by several times to see if I needed anything or wanted anything else. It is reasonable in terms of pricing and I would recommend.

Good Food in Hell’s Kitchen

By JBentraveler |

The theater district is always busy but we wanted a close restaurant and we chose Westville. We have eaten at many of these restaurants and the food has always been consistent well priced . It was crowded but we were seated quickly as we had reservations. We did have to wait a little bit to get drinks orders and this was not an issue as it permitted old friends to catch up. We ordered the crispy vegan quinoa and artichoke burger, the grilled salmon and the Argentinian steak and rice bowl. The burger was good, the salmon slightly over cooked and dry and the bowl huge. The bowl steak was cooked medium rare as requested. The service was very good for being so busy, the food good and we enjoyed our meal.

Nice breakfast options in a quaint place

By Sunny Dr |

We came here for a family celebration and they have good options for brunch. Coffee was good too. The place was a little crowded but we managed to carry out a good conversation

So very yummy!

By Cathrab28 |

The market plate is always my favorite, but I wish there were options for 3 veggies inside of just 1 or 4. The hubs got the cast iron turkey burger, as did one of our friends. They said it was good, but a tad dry. Super friendly service. Clean bathrooms.

Tasty lunch!

Food was incredible, we stumbled on the place after a morning biking in Central Park. We had a chicken salad and chicken burger off the lunch menu and it was so tasty! Service was brilliant as well

Good Food, Good Prices

By Diane K |

We ate here after seeing a Broadway show. Much more affordable than restaurants in the middle of the theater district and if you're seeing a show in the mid-40s to lower-50s, it's a reasonable walk for the value. My husband had a breaded chicken sandwich, which he said was great. I had salmon with vegetables and my only complaint is that the salmon wasn't hot. That being said, I don't mind warm or even cool salmon, and it was cooked just the way I requested. Very prompt service, too.

Reasonably priced and decent food

By JOHN P |

Went with wife and kids last night. Service decent. Ambience v pleasant. Kids loved their buttermilk chicken sandwich and steak sandwich and wife really liked the market veg platter. Food very reasonably priced. I wanted to give this place five stars but my teriyaki salmon was underwhelming (sauce bland and fish a bit dry). Think i just chose the weakest meal. Everything else was spot on

Delicious brunch

Delicious brunch with unique setting. I enjoyed the eggs Benedict which included a poached egg on top of Canadian bacon, spinach and aioli sauce on a Portuguese roll. This was served with home fries that were seasoned perfectly. Menu includes so many delicious choices

Great lunch

I usually go to the Westville in Chelsea, but was closer to Hell’s Kitchen on June 20. Whenever I’m in New York I go here for their plate of three veggies/sides. If you are alone, sitting at the bar is fun and ensures you great service. The server/bartender was great. I had Brussels sprouts, yucca and plantains. As much as I like Chelsea, the food that day here was even better. There are meat dishes too and everything looked great. My only issue was that I was wearing a nice outfit and the weather was hotter than expected. I walked in and they had the front open to outside. It was hot inside. However, the meal, the service and the atmosphere made up for that and I adjusted quickly. This is a great neighborhood restaurant and they do a great takeout business too. Westville is the best!

Great Food

We had reservations here for Sunday around noon. We were seated and served quickly. I had the chicken sandwich and it was great. I also added a side of mushrooms, and they were delicious and it was a large portion size. My son didn’t really care for his grilled cheese from the kids menu; the bread reminded me of an English muffin.
