Best steak ever in nyc Shrimp cocktail excellent Loved the original tile ceiling and atmosphere Ribeye

Very pricey restaurant so I expected this to be a "special occasion" atmosphere. We saw a lot of people underdressed and the noise levels to be high. The restaurant is very pretty, but small. Make a reservation if possible. We ordered the rib eyes which were huge, creamed spinach, and mushrooms. All were very good. The wine menu is excellent. Some wines were very pricey. Overall a decent experience. Try to get a table in the back where noise levels are less.

My wife and I had an exceptional experience on our last night in NYC. Yes the place is busy (it is NYC after all), yes it isn’t a cheap place (you get what you pay for) and it’s a little bit loud but we wouldn’t have it any other way. Met new people have a great meal and enjoyed a few drinks. Highly recommend and would visit again when I return to NYC. Thanks for everything Wolfgang’s

Steakhouse with tight seating quarters. Back room is much quieter than the front room. Large entrees. Had the filet medium. The outer filet was too char’d but the center was light pink. The Knife desperately needed sharpening. But all in all it was an enjoyable experience.

Lovely food but completely ruined by getting another waiter to approach me asking for more tip as they work on a pooled tip system and do t get paid enough. Very embarrassing in front of the people j was dining with . Felt like a cash machine. Being UK we pay staff good money so a tip is meant to be exactly that , not a way of compensating the employer for paying such a small wage . Felt very awkward after a lovely meal. Expect to pay at least 20% on top of the tax = 25% of the prices stated Will never go back again in fear of being approached again , almost begging

This is a touristic and very expensive place so given the price, which are high, the food was very good. Usually in these places food is much worse as most tourists never come back to the same place so restaurants do not care much about the quality. Plenty of people and you need reseveration to make sure you get a gable. We paid like 200 USD for too people with wine, left full and quite satisfied. Fast service.

I was invited on the 13th of October for dinner by some of dear friends residing in New Jersey for dinner at Wolfgang’s Restaurant at Park Avenue NY. Situated in a very old but beautiful building, definitely over a hundred years old. Please don’t ever attempt to just walk into the restaurant and get a table. Due to their popularity it’s compulsory that you make a advanced reservation. We were shown to our table by a very elegantly dressed gentleman. The service personnel are of very high standard, with probably years of service and experience. Very politely he explained what we could order , with a very good sense of humour. My friend for the start ordered a excellent bottle of wine to start with, and a variety of starters. Well prepared and presented we all enjoyed it. As we were five persons we all decided order different dishes. My self together with my colleague ordered a massive T Bone steak for two persons. To be very honest it one of the best steaks I have had for a very long time. I thoroughly enjoyed the steak the wine and the company of my dear friends. If ever you are in New York do visit one of there restaurants, they have five of them in the city of New York. Really worthwhile a visit, and please don’t forget to make a reservation. Thanks for the lovely evening. Warm regards, Randolph Perera Zurich Switzerland 19.10.2019

This steak house is a cosy restaurant with fantastic atmosphere and fabulous steaks. The waiters are exceptionally friendly . For steak lovers the beautiful evening is 100 % guaranteed!

On a busy Friday night we took bar seats, as you can order off the regular menu. Food was excellent! And the portions were humongous. That may be a plus for the mostly 30-something clientele, but for a young retiree like myself, I'd rather not leave lots of food on the table. Then one real negative should be mentioned: the bar tender (my age) did not have a friendly, welcoming demeanor, even though I tried some small talk a couple of times. He seemed to have divided the clientele into regulars with whom he conversed, and out-of-towners who could be ignored.

Fantastic steak and service, really enjoyed the meal and quick service. Bar area very nice also. On par with Peter Lugers.

This is our second time there and my husband and I love it! Great appetizers, great service ! We usually sit at the bar and the bartender Jack is great!!!! No one makes a chocolate martini like Jack!!! He was very thoughtful and sent out dessert with a candle for my husbands birthday and they sang to him. His birthday is not for a few weeks. Thanks Jack!!!! Will back back soon to see you Your NJ friends 😄

Wolfgang’s is far from a pleasant, relaxing place to spend a lot of money. It attracts a boisterous clientele, bursting with crowds which prefer bellowing at the top of their lungs to conversations and therefore is relentlessly noisy. I loved the texture of the dry-aged beef – a little crunchy on the outside and tender in the middle – but was underwhelmed by the taste – the surface would have fared better with a more chargrilled twang. Given the food and the noise levels, your meal won’t measure up, and at these prices, these days, you should get more for your money. This is the true truth as I say it as it is…

I went to celebrate a special occasion and made a reservation for 9pm. Upon arrival the waiter was hesitant to take the other abs very dismissive . We decided to order for take out. When we got home the steak was burned , called the restaurant and she’s to speak to the manager who refused to issue a refund , and said we only could get a credit for another dinner . I will never come in to this place or recommend this place in my lifetime. The manager was calling me senora without knowing my tittle or if 8 speak Spanish. Horrible Experience

Last visit the steak wasn’t as great as my other visits by put generally speaking it’s a great steakhouse. The waiters are characters. We usually follow our exact order at Lugers. Porterhouse, potatoes, creamed spinach.

Suggested by clients - small wait for 3 but definitely worth it. Waiters were fast, drinks never empty, and they had great suggestions to enhance our meal. Went with the Porterhouse and it did not disappoint. The size we ordered was a bit much but somebody’s wife got a great surprise when he got home! Sides were ample and very good. Wine list was well diversified with good selections in all price ranges. If you are in NYC definitely check this place out. Bravo boys!

We intended to have dinner here during a two night post-cruise stay in New York. As soon as we entered the restaurant, we were 'hit' with the 'hubbub' inside - the place was 'heaving'. We were shown to a table for two which was very cramped, closed in and very dim. Although we knew this restaurant was a bit expensive, after perusing the menu we were astounded to see that a New York strip was priced at $54.95 and a shrimp cocktail starter was $27 - my previous on-line research indicated that a steak would be around $28. So, sorry I cannot comment on the quality of the food because we made our apologies and left before ordering, but judging by how busy they were it must be OK and clearly the customers there must have much deeper pockets than us, OR we were handed the ' Wealthy Tourist' Menu !!

The food at Wolfgangs (Park Avenue) was very good in terms of both quality and quantity! The service, however, was very bad! When we had eaten, we were not asked if we wanted a second bottle of wine, but were presented with the bill without being asked. Then the waiter thought that 10% of the €500 bill was too little for the tip...he came back to the table and demanded 20% tip! The restaurant was full and there were already guests waiting at the bar for free tables. So if you feel like spending €500 or €600 with a tip in a hurry, only to be "kicked out" after a good hour... For us, that's a clear NO GO...never again!

Our steaks were great but I do NOT like this location so although I'll be going back to Wolfgang's, I won't be back to this location. Reason? 1. The main dining room is EXTREMELY LOUD to where people were having to scream at each other to talk. It was almost painful just walking through it. 2. Although we were in a smaller room that wasn't as noisy, the whole place just looked 'unclean' and then --- we saw a huge roach go across the floor... So, as I said, I'll go back to Wolfgang's because their steak are wonderful & so are the onion rings but I will never go back to this location. Service was very good.

There are so many restaurants and steakhouses in particular in New York that we found it hard to make a decision. On the advice of a coworker (who heard it from Bobby Flay) we chose Wolfgangs and this location specifically. It’s a bit of a hidden gem, probably not as busy as many of the other upscale steakhouses and the steak is perfect. Get the sizzling porterhouse for 2 (it’s about 28 ozs with the bone) and a few sides. My girlfriend loved the creamed spinach. You won’t be disappointed and at 57$ a person the prices are actually reasonable. The steak comes in a stone dish out of the oven and is basically seasoned (as a steak should be) with salt, pepper and butter. It melts in your mouth and is enough to satisfy even the hungriest of appetites. If you’re a steak lover this is a must! Make it a bucket list location.

Amazing WP Burger, and Steak Grinder. Prompt service, we had 1 hour in between flights. Great atmosphere! Waiter, Roberto, was fast and pleasant and we appreciated him.

As always a wonderful dinner at Wolfgang. Food is alway consistently good ! Service is top notch never a disappointment when dinning here.

This is not a place to go for an enjoyable dinner. Made a reservation if you weeks in advance for eight people for dinner. When we got there we had to wait half an hour for our table. No big deal. The place is overcrowded and overbooked. They gave us a table for eight men that should’ve been at most for four - five people The place was so crowded you couldn’t get up from your seat at all. They packed the people in like sardines. The waiters had to push through people in order to serve food The food was average for steakhouse nothing spectacular. No reason to come here and be so uncomfortable to get a basic steakhouse steak

Excellent food, attentive service, authentic location for a NYC steakhouse ( don‘t accept a quiet / „upscale“ place..it is packed, full of life..and what i would call authentic NYC steakhouse eating). Porterhouse Steak is outstanding ...that‘s why you go.

The pros : excellent meat, fair selection of steak cuts, very quick service even with a full restaurant room. The cons : prices on the high side

USDA Prime excellent perfectly cooked steaks, great good size Maine lobsters, traditional selection of steak house sides. From the host, to the bartender and the servers, everyone was over the top friendly and professional. A great steakhouse that never disappoints. Comfortable and noisy - better for fun then serious business dinners.

We've been to a lot of steakhouses, and I have to say the steak was probably one of the best I have had. Unfortunately, the service was the worst I have had. It might be because we look young, but my girlfriend and I got stuck in the corner, we had to ask to order our food, not once did a waiter come to our table just to check in on us, no one filled our wine glasses despite having a bottle and just in general we felt neglected by our server, especially compared to the surrounding tables. I guess when you are spending on a classic NYC steakhouse, you just expect more. Having said that, the food was excellent and I would dine here again if the service improved.

After over a year away I returned to a place I frequented. The "prime" ribeye is $75. I received the steak it was very tough and tasteless. I spoke to the manager who wanted to replace the steak and I told him as long as it's not the same kind of steak I just tasted. Gave me a new steak absolutely terrible. I used to just love their steak but never will return. A total ripoff

Wolfgang’s is a classic! Glad to know the Park Avenue Location is still open. The Wedge Salad was the best I’ve had and the steak was so flavorful. I wish there were more fish options. Overall a lovely meal

Excellent porterhouse - melted in our mouths. Nice broiled lobster. Good sides, including terrific creamed spinach. Desserts were fun and shareable. Excellent service. Downside is they really squeeze everyone in - place is way way too loud. Service is excellent but you get beat up between the noise and the squeeze. Fun once in awhile. Steak was so good I would eat there again in spite of the squeeze and noise. If they sat 10% less people maybe it would be a lot more comfortable.

A plastic fragment has gone out from macaroni cheese on the side menu. The plastic fragment is quite hard. It's big and sharp. That, I came to have a pain in the mouth and that was taken out of the mouth. There was also a plastic fragment from member's macaroni cheese besides me. I said to a manager. A young staff in a manager kitchen was collected. The PURATCHIKKU fragment found out that I entered at a kitchen. I thought a manager should apologize. For a young youth, I want you not to make them make apologize, feel. I brought a guest there, so because I didn't want to get angry, I permitted. Showing added wine a little. A little wine was only that for an apology. The plastic fragment is sharp. If I ate, it was a horrible accident. Because it might still be included, I was afraid to continue the meal. So I didn't eat any more. This store isn't a luxury store. All costs were also charged, so I paid everything. There were no apologies on the way back. An injured person would go out of this store sometime. The taste is good. But because I don't want to be injured, I won't go any more.

Came here with my mum after it being recommended by a friend, so disappointing! The prices are so high which we didn’t mind as we thought it was going to be unreal however I couldn’t believe how awful it was.... first of all when you walk in the smell of the place is vile, smells like raw meat and dampness, not nice! We then ordered the sea food platter, tasted like something from a packet! I then had the steak... the worst steak I have ever had in my life, tasted off! My mum had the tuna and she was the same ! The bill came to €300 couldn’t believe how vile it was and how much they are charging ! Won’t be back

Sat at the bar on a Friday night and had one of the best steak dinners of my life! Perfectly cut and cooked filet, perfect sauce, perfectly cooked potato - simply superb. Great wine selection and a few really nice ones by the half bottle. Bar staff absolutely spot on. What a place.

Stopped in for lunch. Dining room was about a third full. My friend ordered only a small salad and the waiter was visibly annoyed that was all she was ordering. He was so annoyed he made her feel very uncomfortable by insisting "is that all you are ordering" repeating himself sternly several times. She from a very small rural town, never in the big city, me from a big city, cultured in fine dining. I ordered something else for her knowing she wouldn't eat it, but wanted to make the waiter somewhat happy. Food was all brought at once, but waiter never stopped back to ask how lunch was or if we needed anything else. We went ignored by him. Bill was $90, I left a $20 very undeserved tip. Shame on snobby New York Wolfgang Puck restaurant.

Went to this place as it was late and we were getting pretty hungry, should have checked the prices, that was on us. We were tourists who was visiting the area. The bill came out to way more than we expected so I apologetically told the server I couldn't afford to tip. He got angry and cussed at me and said "You're screwing with my salary man!" I kept apologising, but he wasn't having any of it. "No sorry! WHY NO TIP MAN?!" I'm literally just a teenager and having this grown man talk me down aggressively over a tip, with me being in a foreign place, I just didn't know how to react. After we paid and left the restaurant, he called us back in. "You haven't signed it yet (the receipt" so we went back in to sign, at the tip option I wrote $0. He snatched the pen out of my hands and wrote down a $27 tip for himself and chased us out. Discussed this with my friends in the US about this experience and they confirmed what the server did was in fact very illegal

We had dinner here whilst visiting New York in November 2016, we booked in advance to make sure we weren't waiting. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. We ordered the Porter house steak to share along with fries and broccoli. This was by far the best steak i've ever had, juicy and tender yet crispy and salted on the outside, i didn't want to stop eating even when i was getting full! We ordered a chocolate sundae to share for dessert but only managed half. Lovely romantic dinner out and highly recommend, we are even going to see if we can get to the Beverley hills restaurant whilst in California in September. Enjoy! :-)

Can’t thank them enough for saving our NYE. My wife made a mistake on the table reservation date; but the front of house still made room to fit us in despite them being totally full. The meal that followed was top class. Massive Porterhouse steak cooked to perfection alongside a delicious filleted lobster. What better way to ring in the NewYear. Many thanks!

Amazing steak and the service was impeccable. The scotch menu was A-List and the wine list had great depth. A must do when in New York City

My daughter took my wife and I here for dinner on a Sunday night. I enjoyed a mixed green salad and a filet mignon. My wife and daughter split a steak. I paired the meal with Freemark Abbey Cab Sauv wine, which was a good complement. The filet mignon was savory. I like the Apple Strudel (A La Mode) for dessert. The server Senad was friendly and helpful.

Went with a group of 6 guys while on a bachelor party weekend in the city. The service was great and the food was better. I didn't know a filet could be that large. Everything was cooked to perfection and I felt the food was worth the price.

I normally don't write reviews, but the food and service was so outstanding it deserved an extra star. I hosted a client dinner and your staff was incredible and the food (we had steak) was unmatched by any place i have ever been to.

The food was really great. The salon has Guastavino tile ceilings from a century ago and is beautiful. Service was good. The only drawback is that it is almost impossible to carry on a conversation because all noise bounces back from the ceiling and you can’t hear yourself think! Wolfgang himself came over to our table ti welcome us... Everything is perfect except for the acoustics!

I love this place. Wolfgang’s was recommended to us in 2015 by a New Yorker and we weren’t disappointed. It was the first place on our list for this year’s trip...We ordered 24oz porterhouse for 2 with fries and asparagus....just gorgeous. The steak is, by far, the best steak I’ve ever had. House Pinot Noir was good too. Service friendly and welcoming as I remember. Superb

We waited almost an hour at the bar for our reservation. The restaurant has low ceilings which might be cozy when it is not jammed, but it is very loud when crowded which loses its charm very quickly. Servers were busy and not very warm. The nice cabernet we ordered did not taste like the wine usually made by Stags Leap. It had a barnyard taste. We should have returned it, but by that time we were tired! Food was tasty so kitchen is doing their job, but there is a lot of good food in NYC at this price point so there is no reason to be treated like this. Thumbs down!!!

I was really looking forward to a nice steak dinner at the “famous” Wolfgang Puck Steak House” no matter the cost. The reception by the waiter was cold and impersonal. I was taken to my table and waited 15 minutes before I received the menu or an offer for a drink. The menu was only brought after I had signalled 3 waiters standing together chatting to each other. I ordered a Ribeye steak with chips and a glass of red wine. The wine was very nice the chips were cold. The steak looked great but was very grizzly and impossible to consume. My carving knife was blunt and when I was able attract a waiter and ask for a sharp knife he told me I had one and I had to tell him just get me another knife which he reluctantly did. What a shame after looking so forward to this experience. Never again for me. This same experience was had by a close friend of mine a week later with four in his group at the same restaurant Yuk Yuk Yuk

Why can’t a fancy pants steakhouse get the temperature right. Ordered medium, came to me barely cooked. Took it back and cooked it some more but a steak recooked is never the same as one done correctly the first time. If you screw up a steak order bring a new one. Lame to put it back on the grill. Also, use a meat thermometer. This is not difficult. This is your specialty. Waste of time.

4 out of 5 steaks way undercooked. Sent two back, both still not right. Left at least 25% of meat on plate, waiter never asked why. Very loud restaurant, tables jammed together. Definitely not worth the money. Do NOT recommmend.

We were the absolute Wolfgangs fans for over 15 years - nowhere did we find tasty steaks. This time we were a little disappointed: The Caesars salad and German potatoes were perfect as usual but the steaks no longer had such strong branding - the roasted aromas were missing. For a price of 89 US dollars net! it should be perfect. The restaurant was sparsely staffed Saturday night - maybe it's because of it. What a shame!

This is an excellent steakhouse, nothing to envy to Peter and Lugar and it has an elegant ambience and more options in sides and wines. The porterhouse house is my favorite. For my one of the best steakhouse in America. Este es un excelente Steakhouses, no tiene nada que envidiarle a Peter and Lugger y este tiene un ambiente más elegante y más variedad de acompañantes y vinos. Para mi uno de los mejores Steakhouses en America.

The best steaks ever! From the greeting by manager Jeff Gutic, the service by David, the most excellent steaks and salmon, this establishment exudes excellence and the highest of standards in its meals, presentation and service. Don’t leave NYC without stopping by here. Highly recommend!

But good quality steaks. We shared a ribeye steak flawlessly cooked. The sides were really nice but way too much for 2 of us. The cost would be better spread over 4 people!!😀. Wines are very expensive but I found an Argentinian Malbec at $76 which was very good. Service was very attentive and as always service is added to the meal. We were walk ins on a Thursday evening and it took over an hour to get a table. Definitely book. Thanks Alan

Disappointing for the price. This was a family birthday and sons had booked this restaurant for a special occasion. I felt it as over priced and service for such a restaurant was obviously lacking

We had dinner at Wolfgang’s on Park Avenue Saturday night. Great service, good cocktails, delicious porterhouse steak for two cooked to perfection with German potatoes & sautéed spinach... We’d definitely eat here again.

Love this particular outlet of Wolfgang's. The vaulted ceilings, the efficient service, the convenient location and above all - the taste!

What an amazing place to eat, from walking through the door we felt special, attentive servers, great service and amazing food. We opted for the Shrimp cocktail and bacon as starters, wow, amazing, then onto the porterhouse to share, 3 sides and we were done. Everything cooked to perfection

You need to know what not to order. The bone-in ribeye was a way too marbly and chewy but the porterhouse was truly excellent. The filet mignon is excellent but you might have to scrape a bit of the salty crust off. The caeser salad was delicious but the Wolfgang Salad was mostly chopped onion and string beans.... not so good. The mashed potatoes were not the real mccoy. I thought the prices were very reasonable but the dining area is a bit cramped and very loud. Deserts were wonderful.

We were looking forward to the evening, but our expectations were not met. The atmosphere in the restaurant was more like a station hall due to the tightness and volume. The volume was unbearable!!! The food quality was fine, but as soon as you don't order anything more, you get served the bill right away and can go again. The whole thing reminds us more of a mass handling than a serious restaurant.

Ok....so my first visit to New York and had been recommended Wolfgangs. As I am ordering the waiter struggled to make eye contact with me as he was eyeing the adjacent table as it was tip time I asked for my steak to be cooked pink ish but no flowing blood The steak was delivered almost raw. I asked again for my preference and the waiter took just the steak leaving the side dishes to go cold. THe steak was returned to the table a second time still way undercooked . I mean am I being reasonable asking for no blood but pinkish....after all I'm paying a lot of money for the privilege. The steak was removed from the table and was returned after 10 minutes and now it was totally incinerated. Could not cut it never mind sink my teeth in it. Oh by the way the vegetables were now totally cold Can honestly say this was the worst meal I have ever had ......well done Wolfgangs ....pretentious rubbish !

If you have not time to travel to Brooklyn or are fed up with Peter Luger not picking up the phone, then go to Wolfgang's, it is exactly the same and much more convenient to travel to or reserve! My preferred one is the "original" one in a somewhat dark location on Park Avenue. Both shrimp cocktail and crab cake are perfect, as is the steak which is big and tender and cooked to perfection. Hardly any side dishes needed give the big portions! Service is friendly and they are a good team helping each other. Good wine list with acceptable prices (this is NYC....). Overall a good dining experience!

Lunch at 14.00, we tried an excellent steak for 2 (and the staff offered a special cut usually only offered for dinner), a nice bottle of Spanish wine: Muga. Staff was really friendly and proactive.

Steaks delicious, high meat prices but as expected and worth it, sides nothing special but too expensive then - waiter not really friendly and lordly, answer questions arrogant and if you dont give them their expected 30% gratuity on top they show it each other and smile... everything has its reason boys. Also pretty loud so not really relaxed atmosphere with chilled music like in other restaurants in this price classes! So steaks are worth to go there, but the rest not! Won‘t go there again as we had much better services in NYC!

This was near to the hotel we were staying and we went without booking at around 8:30 pm (after finishing the nyc marathon!). Got seats at the bar. Very friendly staff. The soup and salad were good; ordered Porterhouse for two - that was amazing. Juicy and nicely done. The steak was a little pricey but worth the $. Will definitely go again, or explore the branch all over the world - was told there was one in Hong Kong as well!

I would like to thank my friend KENNY who helped us very kindly and made our wedding anniversary even more special. He was very attentive and thanks to him we are recommending him to our friends. wonderful food and wonderful service!!

Food and service top notch. Shared the double porterhouse and was in beef heaven! This was our 21st visit. Looking forward to 21 more.

We went to Wolfgang’s for Thanksgiving and enjoyed a non traditional turkey day, as we had the steak, which was delicious. I am a big fan of this location because of their interior décor, which takes you back in time. They also know how to make a really good drink.

I had the fresh oysters and the NY Steak. The oysters were super fresh and came accompanied with delicious horseradish and a side seasoning. The steak, was cooked perfectly and very high quality. Absolutely delicious. This place should be better rated. Its a hidden gem and clearly under-ranked. Service was also great and the cocktails prepared flawlessly. I cant wait to go back.

We had the Porterhouse for 2, preceded by some of the Bacon, and washed down with a nice bottle of St. Emilion. Just a perfect NYC chophouse; service was great, nice location. If anything, the tables are a little too close together (more so than Keen's for example), but that's the only thing I'd change. It's expensive, and we all know that, but still value for money.

Had a business dinner there with 8 colleague. Had a number of really excellent starters, especially the crab cocktail. Then had an amazing porterhouse that was cooked to perfection. Sides included amazing mushrooms, spinach and broccoli. No room for dessert. Will definitely return

We were there for lunch and ordered all three of their steaks, the Porterhouse for two, ribeye, and filet. The food was as expected however the Porterhouse was a little on tue raw side due to it being so thick so I would recommend people take that into account when ordering. Steak is about 15-20days dry aged based on my experience

My wife & I had the Fillet Mignon - which was fantastic. A big meal and a big price - but worth it. You CANNOT visit Manhattan without having a steak at Wolfgangs. You must book as it is very busy and from "Happy Hour" on - it becomes very loud. That said the service is great and worth the trip.

Beautiful restaurant with some of the best steaks in the city. Great bar with a wide selection of your favorite potion. If you like jumbo cocktail shrimp, you won't be disappointed. While a preponderance a business people attend, it's also a great place to bring a date or significant other.

One word : Dye Aged Porterhouse Medium Rare for Two It’s just so good. Unbelievably good. It has to be at Wolfgang’s and it’s has to be in New York City.

Just speechlessly horrible service which was dishonest and does NOT sincere to think about the guest!!!!! The first of all, we order to the sommelier recommended wine. He said: "we give you a special price for just 100 dollars." But when our bills come the wine was not 100 dollars it was 150 dollars something. Secondly, On our bill, it was already charged tips but they did not mention. Normally, a good restaurant they mention that kind of things says "Service charge is already included." But they didn't. Therefore we ware almost paid tips double. Thanks got we realized that! I feel like they did on purpose. I believe many people don't realize that tips are included. So they pay tips again without notice. It is very disappointing the way of their service. And include sommelier and servers were pretty mature people. They were not young student servers. Obviously, they know what they doing. It is very sad mature people doing that kind of things. Too bad their foods was good. Therefore, I will never go back for sure.

No trip to NYC would be complete without an evening at Wolfgang’s: we love it here! We come every time and this time again we were not disappointed! We came with Friends and ordered the Porterhouse Steak which is amazing - great meat (and we are meat lovers); good wine card. Can’t wait to come back!

Our party of 4 ordered oysters, bacons, steak, mash potatoes and the sundae! Would recommend this location for any steak aficionados coming into NY! The drinks are on point (LOVED the expresso martini) and the wait staff -very efficient.

We were a group of 6. Came in at 7:30 pm. The place was packed and you just could not talk to one another unless you shouted. Took the porterhouse which was real good as all of the sides. Service was spot on and friendly. Deserts were ok but not great.

One of the best T bone steaks I have had in my life. Each bite was delightful and ecstatic for the foodie in me. The cheesecake dessert was excellent too. Note that the portion is large and you may skip any starter. Service was very good too - attentive and yet un-interfering. A great experience.

As always top notch steak served in a restaurant roper manner. They know how to do it right - worth crossing the water to Manhattan.

My wife and I had dinner at Wolfgang’s on a busy weeknight on a recent visit to New York. I get that the restaurant is a bit of an institution but, at least on this occasion, the place was unable to live up to its reputation. The restaurant was so full as to be uncomfortable at the table, deafeningly loud and service mixed as wait staff were pulled in so many directions. Also disappointed on this occasion - having eaten there before - that the steaks were incredibly salty; so much so as to be unpleasant. At the price, we could have done so much better.

The food here is more than good. it is we had a share dishes were they were big enough. Our problem was the Service is not friendly and slow.

For those of you that have read my other reviews, you know I don't give out 5s easily. But that's how good Wolfgang's is. We hadn't tried before because we thought it was too expensive. But it's no more expensive than other leading (and not leading) steakhouses. The ambiance at this location is great, especially due to the interesting history of the site. We were intrigued by the ceiling and asked the bartender while we had pre-dinner cocktails. He gave us a mini history lesson. The tables are comfortably spaced so you don't feel crammed in like at other steakhouses. The service was terrific. The wine selection had something for every taste and price range, although I wish they carried more less expensive wines. We all had the Porterhouse except for one Filet Mignon. The Porterhouse is served already carved into serving pieces, which makes it so easy to share and serve. There was much more than enough for our group, and the Filet size was ginormous. There was plenty to take home and enjoy again. But the quality of the steaks are what really separates Wolfgang's from the rest. The Porterhouse was incredible and is not to be missed. I got to have some of my wife's Filet a couple of days later and it was the best I've ever had. Wolfgang's is now our go-to restaurant for birthdays. Fortunately, we have a good-sized family!

On another trip we had dinner at another Wolfgangs location, of which we had an enthusiastic memory, not fully confirmed in this other location. The atmosphere is characteristic and the atmosphere lively and full of life (too much: see below); the Service fast and accurate. The real strength is represented by the meat, really good quality and served in very abundant quantities. Scenic, at the time of serving some meat dishes, the opening of "wings" to make the square table circulate (actually not very wide for 4....) and the placement of "rises" under the Service Plates to pour the sauce (exquisite!) of the meat that, we confess, we finished making the Italian "shoe". Very high prices but it is logical to expect them. The only downside: the tables are close enough and if - as happened to us - there are other very noisy customers (and it was not the only case where in New York we had to deal with people who speak at very high volume!) you do not fully enjoy dinner.

Ok this is my favorite NY restaurant. I am biased. We had a party of 6. Able to order lots of food. But first had a drink at the bar . The bartender could not have been more friendly. Made us feel right at home. The drinks were great. We always start with the bacon appetizer. Then the special Wolfgang’s salad. And of course the highlight, the steak!!! I can still hear the sizzle. And to wash it down the hot fudge sundae. Never disappoints. Great place for steak.

Hostess was rude, left us waiting over a half hour (after noting it’d be 20 minutes), then when we asked how much longer it’d be, she was rude again and said ‘in a moment’. After 10 more minutes it was obvious she had no intention of seating us, so we left.

They were so great to our rambunctious family! Friendly and speedy service despite being very busy. Steak was superb. Real rare just like we ordered. Would definitely come back.

We were told there are several in NYC but the Park ave location was the original and the best. We had a great table for two. Service was so on point. Started with a great chopped salad and then my daughter ordered the filet and I the crab cake appetizer. It was the best crab cake and so big I couldn’t finish. The steak came to the table sizzling and done to perfection. I rarely eat red meat but had a sample and it was exceptional! Great ambience we will go back!!!

Quality steakhouse with all the classics. Great wine selection. Fantastic porterhouse. Must get the slab bacon and creamed spinach. The experience and service was outstanding.

It was so bad, I wish I could give it a zero. But that's not possible, so I give it a 1. The meal was okay, the wait staff was extremely rude the whole meal. After I had tipped, the waiter came up to me and shamed me and said I must tip the suggested tips on the side. I was so embarrassed, I was shaking. I quickly scribbled some more so he would just leave me alone. I will never come back to this restaurant, and plan on refuting the credit card charge for the tip.

The steak is out of this world! My mom sister and aunt came to dinner to enjoy a girls night out! We were happy the food was amazing but, and I mean a big butt our experience wasn’t as great. The place is so small and they cram so many tables to pack everyone in. Our table was so close to others we couldn’t move! Then to make matters worse we were bumped and shoved all night long. The servers were trying to squeeze by and to make the best of things we were joking we have never had so many strangers crotches and butts brushed against our heads and backs! The food was amazing but just a little more space between customers would have been good!

Absolutely fabulous steaks, cooked to perfection and served piping hot nice and pink in the center just the doctor ordered. Yes it is an expensive restaurant however, the service was outstanding. We were early for our reservation and had drinks at the bar, and again the bar keep attentive and friendly. Will go back when in NYC.

steak is very tender, atmosphere was surprisingly quiet, service is outstanding, restaurant is located on the corner of 33rd and park, closest train station is 6 to 33rd or N, R, D, F to 34th street

Five of us shared a lobster, a few appetizers, and two large porterhouse steaks. Service was exceptional. Steaks were awesome. Lobster was grilled perfectly. Drinks were great. Prices were reasonable for midtown. I’ll be back.

Came to NYC for a week holiday and thought we'd treat ourselves to a nice meal one night. This place is pricey, but worth every penny, you'll there absolutely stuffed. The place was heaving and you need to reserve a table. The steak was amazing, they also brought out these huge crisp type things. Not a bad word to say about the place.

We had a great dinner. We ordered the filet mignon and Rib eye both were tasty delicious and juicy. Had a wonderful Cabernet Sequoia Valley for 85 a perfectly baked potato and a salar for 267.great service. Definitely a good dinner

We went to Park Avenue location. Wine list and all the items in the menu were so optimal. Service as well. What was so annoying was the so noisy packed room with its soaring ceiling. No verbal communication without shouting! We just enjoyed eating, paid and left!

Amazing place, classy and cozy. We had the steak which was really good, maybe a bit heavy for me since I’ve ordered 4 different sides to share with my friends. Quality undoubtedly good. Divine cheesecake :) Excellent service Hopefully I’ll come back soon, A girl from Italy loves you :)

We’ve been to all the best steakhouses, The steak is always superior here, The Caesar salad is the best, the Crab cocktail is awesome and all the sides are great and don’t miss anything with the Schlage! The best in class service is a welcome plus.

The ambiance was very inviting; the hostess was very kind and understanding as I called her to let her know we were running late, and also asked for our vaccination cards. The server who attended to us ensured that our glasses were always filled with water and was very attentive when time to place our orders. Our food came on time and was fantastic. The food was very well seasoned and sizzling hot when it came to our table (literally). If I were to complain about anything it would be the waiter towards the middle of our dining experience. Almost every 5 minutes he came hovering our tables and asking if we were done, when we were clearly still working on our meals and enjoying good conversation. It became too much after a while but I chose to ignore it. Other than that I had a great time and it was totally worth it, I would definitely dine again in the near future.

First impression was good; friendly and efficient person at greeting desk. We were seated right away even though we were 10 minutes early. Waiter was professional and helpful in selecting entrees and appetizers. Wine (Cabernet) was good; not excellent but no real complaint. Salad was generous and steaks were extraordinarily thick and cooked exactly as we requested (Mine medium and hers medium rare). Bill was a bit high, but in NYC you expect to pay a bit more. My wife is still telling me how much she liked Wolfgang's three days later; a clear indication of a really good restaurant.

Came here with a few friends and the food was amazing. We started with the bacon, and tomato and onion salad. It was all really good. We then had 2 steaks , German potatoes and sautéed spinach. The steaks were unbelievably good, the sides were very good as well. I would highly recommend this to anyone in the area or visiting from out of town.

Wouldnt talk about atmosphere, service, which is all correct. But steaks and portons! unbeliavable! so much taste in every bite of perfectly cooked rib eye steak! Dont miss it!

I had lunch at Wolfgang’s and the lamb chops were both excellent and large. I had with the mushrooms and onions which were very flavorful, I strongly recommend you try them!

We had lobster cocktail ,fresh mozzerla & tomato also some bacon for appetizer all where wonderful . We ordered the porterhouse for 2 ,creamed spinach and German potato we washed it down with a bottle of newton cabinet sauvignon everything was amazing including the service . We had leftover so we had all the entrees the next day also

This place is great all be it not cheap but l would rather pay for quality ! The portions are big so we skipped the starters we both had steak mine was the filet and it was cooked to perfection ,my husband had the sirloin and he really enjoyed it . The staff were friendly and professional we will return

The bacon and cream Spinach here is a must have. I love steak and this place is one of the best one in town. I have been going there since they open.

Highly recommended.. If you are a meat lover... this is the place.. the stakes are amazing.. words can’t describe. I have been to many stakehouse in NY and this one is in the TOP. the service is good, prices are Mid- High. Quality is Great.

First tip skip the starters not needed the portions are huge Compared to UK steak restaurants the portions are twice the size. Honestly the sirloin would be enough for 2 once you add the sides. 4 guys we each had starters and steaks plus 4 sides, 2 desserts and 3 bottles of red it cost $200 each

Sooooo disappointed I took my wife to New York for her birthday-and tried to close it out with a great dinner -My steak was dry and over cooked - My Wife’s steak was Rare when it was ordered medium - my Lobster tail was cold and appeared to be under cooked - The quality of the product was just bad - service staff was fine but the product is bad - The staff asked how everything was - I gave her the honest answer - she told her boss and nothing - Just another visitor to New York, I guess…

Incredible steak and very tasteful side dishes- if you are looking for top notch meat but also care for excellent service and prefer a proper restaurant decor and a noise level that permits to have a conversation over a ‚traditional‘ steak house, then this is the place to go.

Went to Wolfgang’s on a Wednesday expecting to have an amazing dinner and celebrate getting together with friends. What we actually received was a terrible experience. Our servers were Danny and Johnny who seemed to not care about our table one bit, as we could see that other tables were there main priority. They forgot our desserts and dropped the check instead. When we said we had dessert coming but It had been so long we decided to leave, Danny aggressively grabbed the plates and silverware off the table in a rude fashion. Now to the food we ordered a Rare porterhouse for 3 that took close to an hour. Also paid 125 dollars for a lobster that Joe’s Crab Shack could’ve made better. Steak was comparable to outback at best throughly disappointed as I was told the porterhouse was their signature dish. I wouldn’t be surprised if our Mash potatoes came out of box. I truly hope that this was just an off night for Wolfgang’s but for a $500 dinner for 4 this was an absolute waste of my money and time. I will never come back nor recommend this place to anyone.

This is probably my favorite restaurant in NYC. It’s loud, you have to speak a little louder to be heard. It’s a little tight so you have to put your chair in a little bit more to avoid getting bumped into but the energy is wonderful. First rate fine dining service is definitely a must here. The service is impeccable. You won’t be left needing anything. The waiters are good at pacing your courses. There’s no rush here. Everyone smiles. The steak is cooked to perfection. It’s just so good. The sides are enough to share with 2 other people. The mushrooms are out of this world. I can’t wait to come back in October. Best of the best. Oh, and a special mention has to go to Adise at the bar. I’m sure I’m spelling his name wrong but what a wonderful bartender. He’s just so nice and never makes you feel like you’re bothering him. He’s amazing so make sure to say hi. We didn’t sit at the bar this time but we still said hi.

Bobby Flay's favorite steakhouse in NYC--& now ours, too. We split tomatoes & onions with roquefort dressing for 2, filet mignon medallions au poivre (came with mashed potatoes & THE BEST creamed spinach) & apple strudel with homemade whipped cream. Our server, Mimi, was outstanding. We even bought their steakhouse for home use. It's even next door to the hotel (HGI) that we stay in. We will return!!

My wife and I reserved a table for dinner. We arrived on time and were told to wait at the bar. The clueless people at the concierge were only matched by the deceitful manager who all kept putting us off with every excuse in the book. After 20 minutes with no table we left and had to work our way past other couples who were hopelessly waiting for their non-existent tables. I doubt they stayed. Shameful, doubt you will stay in business. Surprised anyone puts up with this behavior.

This spot is really cool and casual and the steaks are great. We also had nice neighbors to chat with. It was quite crowdy and loud, so that it‘s nothing for a romantic candle light dinner

Went to Wolfgang steakhouse for the first time. The location on Park Ave is amazing. The food matched the surroundings. The bacon appetizer is fantastic as is the shrimp cocktail. Ordered porterhouse for 6 and it came out perfect. Creamed spinach and mushrooms a perfect complement. Finished with a dessert platter that included Key Lime pie, cheesecake, and chocolate mouse pie with mounds of schlage. It was all crazy good.

We were here for a rather straight-forward dinner. The served bread didn't live up to the expectations as it wasn't warm nor tasty. But it's ok, we're not here for the bread! As an appetizer we took the Wolfgang's thick Bacon strip, one for each. It was a mistake... Don't get me wrong, it was great! Salty, rich in flavor, cooked a-punto, but it's big!! One for us both would've been enough. We debated whether or not to go for the porterhouse, but we decided not to. The Filet-Mignon came out medium-rare, as ordered. And it was amazing! No doubt, one of the best. The Sirloin (served pre-cut) was also great, but I'm more of a Filet Mignon type. We didn't stay for a desert. All in all, along with a $65 bottle of red wine, it was roughly $120 per person, tip inclusive. Not cheap, but damn worth it! Quick tip - ask for a corner table if you don't like the noise and the crowds, it's better. Enjoy!

The meat was cooked as expected and had great flavor, the atmosphere was pretty elegant and fitted the place and name. The waitress explained every doubt about the meat we had and was very friendly! The spinach side was really good; it actually felt like spinach unlike many other places which its mostly cream. It was a great add on to the plate.

On the eve of another arbitrary rule from our illustrious mayor there is no choice but to find a highly regarded steaakhouse. Went to Wolfgang for their porterhouse. Did not disappoint. Liked more than their ribeye which tasted solid too. Creamed spinach, sautéed mushrooms & onions, potatoes all great. Key lime pie, apple strudel with schlagg and an Irish coffee to finish the meal off. Oh, and a Bloody Mary. Goodbye old world. :( 😞

It was my big bros birthday, so we got the royal treatment. Walking into Wolfgang's with him felt like walking into the strip club with James Harden right after a first-round playoff exit. The whole staff coming up to him dapping him up, with all the restaurant patrons whispering amongst themselves trying to figure out who he is. One staff member shouted, "Mr. Bloomberg is in the building!!" While another one came up to dap him up saying "It's big bro!" He responded with a disarming smile, slapping his hand away and going for the hug while saying "Nah you know you're my big homie!!" I got a little shy during all this commotion so went to the bar and started with an espresso martini to wake me up and get me out of my shell a little bit. We were then seated at the best table in the joint. The bread to start off was immaculate, I probably had 4 pieces. I love bread. My only complaint was the butter was ice cold. Me and my homie were inspired and began to discuss making a heated butter knife and selling it to steakhouses. I mean there is a major gap in the market for this. Sit back and visualize how optimal a lukewarm butter knife would be to spread your butter perfectly all over every corner of the bread. I can see millions. We all got the porter house steak medium rare (obviously), and it was absolutely to die for. The best steak I have had in NYC if I'm being really honest, and I can only speak the truth. It gets me into trouble sometimes. Wolfgangs is my favorite steakhouse in the city. IG @jnov_ Tiktok @jnov__

After so many years, it is still one of my favorite steakhouses in NYC. The food and the staff are the best at this location (for some reason, other Wolfgang locations are just not as good in NYC, Hongkong or Tokyo). I like the oysters, iceberg salad, bacon strip, tomatoes and onions. For the main, Porterhouse medium rare is a requirment. Wine list is big but not cheap. Some good tier 2 american wines at somewhat reasonable price. Some customers think the staff can be surly but I find them fast and professional. The crowd can be rowdy with some asian tourists mixed in. Though Wolfgang is seen as second to Peter Luger, I do not think a trip to Brooklyn is worth it.

The quality of the food is outstanding-the kindness of the waiter has room for improvement. I guess one requirement of working there is not to smile or laugh! Anyways because of the food it’s #1 in NYC...

We have been loyal to Peter Lugers every time in NYC, but wanted to try another steak house this trip. What a GREAT choice we made with Wolfgang's. Service was fabulous, very attentive, Giovann (gerry) made great recommendations. We enjoyed every bite. Definitely a return visit next time in NYC but in the meantime may have to check out the one closer to home in Miami.

Just the atmosphere of the restaurant was enough to make you love the experience alone, waiters were fantastic and the food was incredible - wait don't forget the wine!!! I had the rib eye and couldn't finish it :( sadly had to pass it onto a friend to finish as the meals are huge! From the entres to the dessert everything was well worth the money spent and as I'm an Aussie I hope to return some day!

Main complaint: the noise! So loud. If that doesn’t bother you, this may be your place. The steak is excellent (minus one little bit of the tenderloin side of my T bone) that was mealy and almost rotten tasting. Don’t bother with the creamed spinach. Opt instead for the garlic sautéed spinach. Waiters are charming and efficient. Get the crab cocktail and don’t miss the bacon starter. End with the ice cream sundae and ask for extra hot fudge. Be forewarned, many Happy Birthday table singing and stag parties. Cool space that used to be a private train station.

The presentation was uninspiring. The wedge salad was plated as a lettuce wedge, a single sliced tomato, and a pile of bacon cubes. You had to make the salad yourself. Next, the loaded baked potato was anything but that. It was a potato and a side dish of sour cream. No cheese, no bacon…..all for a steep price. Finally, I was told my steak could not be cooked well done….it’s their policy that that steak must be butterflied. Don’t spend time or money here….there are too many good steakhouses in NYC.

Have to say an expensive chain - service, drinks and the steak was certainly up to the mark, but the pricing of sides was rather excessive-as were the portions. If you want to be seen somewhere and can handle the noise then it’s great. Not for me.

Undisputed quality and exquisite meat with American cuts and cooked to perfection. The porterhouse we ordered was delicious. The place and the service very good!

I must be getting older because I actually like to be able to hear and talk to the people I'm having dinner with. The Restaurant was excellent. Everything top to bottom was just great putting it on par with any of the top steak joints in manhatten. Unfortunately it was so loud it made it hard to enjoy the company we were with

Had a tip from a FDNY guy called (Pat) this is the place for steaks. And he wasn't wrong (even though some of ours were over salted) The meat was exquisite just like the service. Had one of my favourite wines from the Napa Valley to wash it all down with👍 Evening was slightly spoilt by a foul mouth American woman sitting on the table next to us. Loud doesn't do her justice but at least I dont have to see or hear her again unlike her poor fella.

We were walking in Manhattan NYC streets last July when found the elegant Wolfgang's Stakehouse restaurant at 41st street so decided to walk inside and were really pleased that the hostess seated us in a unique frontline table although we had no prior reservation. We enjoyed the elegant dining atmosphere while we wore casual attire; the food quality and quantity were beyond amazing and extremely delicious. I ordered tasty salmon and the piece was really big. My husband ordered ribs which also were in big portion and it is really recommended for meat lovers. Thanks to the professional and friendly waiters who took great care and attention to each table and will definitely come back again when visiting NYC to try more dishes.

I had the fillet steak and it was honestly the best steak I’ve ever had. It was perfectly cooked and literally melted in my mouth. The peppercorn sauce was beautiful (especially with the mash potato and spinach). The decor is fascinating and the staff are brilliant.

Had reservation. God a table in a blocked corner, asked to change because it was not comfortable at all and also the table next to us talking so loud. Food was good and also good service

We arrived early to this one of a kind, right out of the pages of the text book for old fashioned dining cuisine. The decor takes you back to Sinatra and Al Capone era. We had reservations and arrived early. The place was mobbed and loud, EVERYONE was having a great time and happy! One table had 6 waitstaff surrounding it with plates of food in their hands, very impressive. We were quickly seated in a cozy smaller, less noisy room in the rear of the restaurant, in which I loved! Kenny, our waiter had this calm and extremely friendly demeanor and it was obvious he has been around. We ordered the Porterhouse for two, creamed spinach and steak fries and bottle of Ridge Red Zin. With all the busy going on, the food was out in short order. This steak, was huge and cut off the bone in slices BUT all intact in the shape it originally was sizzling in butter. Kenny plated our first serving at the table. The steak was one of, if not the most tender, flavorful, delicious steaks I have ever experienced. No words were uttered as we feasted on this aged, perfectly cooked, delectable. The creamed spinach you MUST order, with the deep green color and full spinach flavor and velvety texture. From the time you walk in from the time you walk out, you will find NO BETTER food in NYC or anywhere else for that matter.

We took our Wolf gang and went twice to this location, once over the winter on a Sunday afternoon for the first time, and again in July for my birthday on a Thursday night . It was far better on a Sunday afternoon, then it was on a crowded summer week day Thursday evening in July. It was a completely different experience actually. It was calm and leisurely dining the first time, then a long wait and a noisy raucous cacophony throughout for the second meal, when the place was packed. No soundproofing, and cavernous curved ceilings that are quite unusual, make for a bouncing surround sound ear shattering experience. You will need to shout at your dinner companions if it’s crowded. My husband had to slip the host some money on the second visit, because even with a reservation, the table wasn’t happening. The first time we had the place mostly to ourselves. We finally got a table in the corner on my birthday, which was good because there was SOME privacy at least, as they have kind of tight seating. They knew it was my birthday, besides the reservation, but no special treatment as the birthday girl. Oh well! I started with my favorite kind of soup, the lobster bisque the first visit, which was disappointing. It was way too thin for a Bisque, so I didn’t bother to order it the second time. We also got a shrimp cocktail which was good, Caesar salad was fine. The second time we also got 2 of the Lobster cocktail, and oysters. Pricy, but good. I ordered the filet both times, which I really enjoyed the during the initial visit, but not the second time around. It was delicious, tender, and served with a great brown mushroom dipping gravy that was excellent. It was the perfect touch for the filet. I loved that they gave you nice sized dish of it INCLUDED with the filet. I hate places like STK that charge you for a tiny dribble of sauce to go with your steak. Give me a break with the nickel and dime tactics when you’re already shelling out good money for the meal, sauce should be a given, but it’s often a surcharge. We all shared great sautéed onions & excellent creamed spinach. I didn’t like that the waiter served and portioned out the sides, I like to take my portion myself and put it where I want to on the plate. We also got the porterhouse for two both times. Both prepared as ordered. So two filets and a porterhouse for two gave the four of us plenty of meat to go around. My first filet was SO much better than the one during my birthday celebration. Not sure why the second time it was extremely salty and I should’ve returned it. Especially since I DID say NO seasoning, as the natural flavor of a great steak doesn’t need tons of salt and pepper. It was great the first time, but it was barely edible the second. I also ordered it blue, and it could’ve been rarer the second time too. I said no char outside and they charred it. So I think on a quiet Sunday afternoon, they’re a lot more concerned with getting it right, than they are during a packed boisterous Thursday night when the waiter probably couldn’t hear the requests I made. Not happy. Despite my husband telling them it was my birthday, no one attempted to sing happy birthday to me. I was surprised as there was someone else who they sang to. Not that I like having everyone turn around and look at me, but just the point they should’ve done it if they were told it was a birthday celebration. Dessert was good for the first visit, I got the Creme Brûlée, which I love in general, and we also got the chocolate mousse cake, both great. On the second visit we got some tea, which was bought out in a case with a full selection of fruit flavored Ahmad teas. A nice touch. Here’s a big gripe I had with this place. The bathroom situation in this restaurant is great if you want some major exercise. If you have bad ankles like me, not thrilling whatsoever. First you have to go down a step, then up a step, then down a step, then ALL THE WAY down two long flights of stairs, and back up again after you’re done. You can really work off your meal going to the restroom here. I don’t know if there was an upstairs single, I sure didn’t see one or I would’ve preferred it for sure. 2 booths when you finally get there to the ladies room. Individual cans of air freshener in each booth, were a nice touch. Overall, Wolfgang’s was better on a quiet visit, than a full house, which is cacophony, and food wasn’t nearly as good. Best was the filet the first time as I show in my picture. It was excellent that time. No seasoning is the way to order, IF they pay attention and don’t salt it to an inedible state of being as they did the second time, despite my instructions. Maybe the waiter didn’t hear me over the deafening restaurant roar. The service was excellent the first time, second time not so much. Again, empty vs crowded will give you an entirely different experience. You will pay a lot of money to dine here, but for the most part, the meal is quality. Give it a try when it’s not too crowded for the best resulting experience. 5 Stars the first visit, 3 stars the second being generous, so I give it 4 stars between the visits. Overall, I say yes, it’s worth a try!

Went here for my boyfriend’s birthday - delicious steak. We went for the Porterhouse (c.$55PP) - really good, but huge! Chose spinach and fries to go with it, but couldn’t really manage the fries. Go minimal on sides as the steak is enormous. Big range of wine available - went for the cheaper end and was still really good. Long line when we arrived, but as we had booked, didn’t take too long for our table. Would definitely recommend.

The food is excellent. We had porterhouse for two and it was cooked to perfection. A good variety of wines and a nice bar. However I wouldn’t recommend the restaurant for a first date or a romantic evening because it is impossible to hear each other, it gets overly loud inside.

The wait staff at this restaurant really made our meal a top notch experience! Extremely attentive, detail-oriented, knowledgeable and great humor are just a few things I could say about the staff. High end steaks, sides, wine and dessert. Just wonderful!

We were a party of 10 and ordered 2 seafood platters and 3 porterhouse steaks for 2. The seafood platter was amazing and plenty for all: lobsters cut in half, jumbo size shrimps that literally took 3-4 bites to eat and huge pieces of crab meat! As a seafood lover, the platter was amazing. Then the porterhouse steaks arrived. we ordered one medium and 2 medium rares. The medium was more like a medium rare and the medium rares were too rare for my taste. We asked the waiter if he could take some pieces that were too rare and make them medium. He was happy to oblige. The steaks were tasty and plentiful. The porterhouse steaks for 2 were really meant for 2 BIG eaters. Good value. The sides ordered were: french fries - highly recommended, creamed spinach - excellent flavor, mash potatoes - they were okay i recommend the fries, lobster mac and cheese - was cheesy and okay - not the best that I've had. We also had a crab cake which was out of this world. Food was good. Service was excellent. Noise level in the restaurant was a bit too loud for me. Our table was in the dining area next to the bar on a Thursday night. I wished that we had a quieter table or location because it was really difficult to have a conversation without yelling across the table.

We went there with relatives that live in NYC. Expensive but well worth it. All of the items that we ordered were cooked to perfection especially the steaks. The service was beyond compare, we were treated like royalty. We will definitely come back here on our next trip to NYC!

This was my second time dining at this place. First time was quite a few years back and I remembered the bacon and the steaks being really good. This time I wanted to bring my 2 sons to experience NYC steaks. We tried for a reservation at Luger's, but the timing just didn't work out...so I decided for the next best thing. Overall, they had a wonderful experience. I booked via Opentable for 8pm on Sunday evening. We found the place to be packed. We were seated within 30 seconds of arriving. We were seated next to the kitchen, but we didn't mind. We were treated professionally throughout. Water was served and refilled timely. We never felt rushed. We ordered 1 bacon, porterhouse for 2, and lobster Mac n' cheese, and cream of spinach. The boys thoroughly enjoyed the bacon. It was perfectly cooked and had the right amount of fat. The steak was cooked perfectly medium. The boys were impressed by the presentation and the service. The mac n' cheese was ok, lacking lobster. The cream of spinach did not impress them. I was hoping for a dessert or something for my birthday son, but the waiter just overlooked it. We were full anyways. All in all a wonderful experience. Great atmosphere. Perfect steakhouse experience.

The staff were so friendly and the food was absaloutely delicious. I loved the authenticity of the restaurant, and will definetly be back the next time I visit New York.

HAND'S DOWN ONE OF THE BEST MEALS OF MY LIFE! My family and I went here this past weekend to celebrate my 50th birthday! It was perfect in every way! The kids (ages 12 & 15) and my husband and I all shared the porterhouse for two. It was the BEST steak I have ever had...and I have had a lot of steaks in my 50 years! Absolutely delicious and we had more than enough. I wanted to keep eating, but just couldn't squeeze anymore in. We had the chopped salad to start and that too, was one of the best salads I have ever had as well...just simple great ingredients! With our steak we all shared the sautéed mushrooms (to DIE FOR), the German potatoes (DELICIOUS) and the mac-n-cheese (YUMMY)! For dessert we had the chocolate mousse cake and the cheesecake...wonderful, but the best part of both of these desserts were the huge dollops of fresh, homemade whipped cream. Our server Kenny was so nice and very attentive. I honestly will never forget this meal...not only was it special, but oh, so GOOD! Thank you Wolfgang's!!!

The ceilings are low, the conversations are loud and the food is sensational. We ate at this restaurant twice on our weeks visit to Manhattan. They sure know how to mix a cocktail and the service is second to none. Mr B and I had a fillet steak each, a huge thick slab came out. The meat was tender and melt in your mouth delicious. The best steaks I have tasted outside of Uruguay. We opted for the cottage fries which are literally a whole potato made into scallops and deep fried like chips. Deliciously crunchy. The creamed spinach gooey, green and fresh. Amazing. The glasses of Pinot Noir a perfect complement to the delicious steaks. It's a busy restaurant but one full of character, a proper American Steakhouse. Highly recommended.

old fashion ( not my taste) restaurant with crumpy waiters, steaks cost a small fortune and so do the side orders since it is served with nothing. very friendly bartender from europe .

What a gem of a place. Pricey but well worth it if you want a treat It was full to the brim with tourists and locals creating a buzzing and unique atmosphere, all staff were amazing. The best steak I have ever tasted in my life. My only negative was the choice of drinks no cider or ale but this didn’t detract from the evening loved it, highly recommended!! Please can we have one in Manchester

Packed house on a Monday night and the service was phenomenal. Wait staff Not too attentive but just enough. Dinner entrees whether fish or steak are ginormous and arrive piping hot. Great wine list and don’t forget the mushrooms and onion rings for sides. Pricey but worth it!

This was my second visit to this particular location and I found the steak to be equal or better to any high end steakhouse that I have visited. The steak was cooked exactly as requested and the service was excellent. The warm apple strudel with fresh whipped cream was heavenly. I cannot fathom some of the negative reviews.

Classic environment, less noisy internal room, excellent service, they constantly pour fresh water into the glasses. The onion side dish, good, is huge. Very good meat, follow the waiters' advice, American prices. To consider the tip we gave 18%. We are not used to these exorbitant tips, of course the waiters certainly deserved them.

NYC is filled with exceptional steakhouses and this is another fine example. The space which was previously used as a dining space for the Vanderbilt Hotel has been transformed into a cozy steakhouse. You can't help but notice the beautiful tiled ceilings by the famed Guastavino as soon as you walk in. The dark wood panels throughout also give the space a classic NY steakhouse feel. We came here with our kids and another family and were treated no differently than any of the business men with their corporate cards surrounding us. Our waiter was excellent and service throughout the night was on point. All of the appetizers we ordered were excellent. Steaks were all perfectly cooked. The sides we ordered were delicious. Make sure to save room for dessert. Their homemade desserts and whipped cream were amazing! My one issue here was the sound. Maybe because of the way the ceilings arched, or maybe because of the tile, the noise level in here was crazy loud. Other than that we had a great meal.

Excellent Ribeye! Met the Main Man Mr. Wolfgang Z. Service was outstanding. We had a wonderful night with my family. 😊👌🏻

A friend made reservations for us. Even though we entered the place in the early evening the place was packed with many tables seating groups of 4 or 5. In spite of all the talking in laughter of a packed steakhouse, the waiters were quick to serve and it was easy to get their attention. We ordered a porterhouse steak and it was excellent. One steak is probably enough for two people. The location just a short walk from to grand central station and is easily accessed. The lively atmosphere of the place definitely adds to the experience of eating there and it really felt like I was in New York. I would recommend the place to anyone visiting the city.

That’s the second time we come to Wolfgang’s but this time it was less great than our first experience in 2013. We have made the reservation 4 weeks in advance but we needed to wait for another 45min after arriving. That wouldn’t be that tragic if the bartender would have payed some attention to us. I was patently waiting for 15min at the counter to place an order. Well he did not like me and ignored me until the point my husband was placing the order. We ended up with overpriced warm Champagner and a Moscow Mule which had a horrible taste!! This guy felt too good to talk to unimportant tourists... maybe he should work in Paris as his attitude was very French waiter alike. Beside that - we had a great dinner with a professional waiter and delicious food and wine!! Just get rid of the bartender...:)

share a porterhouse + sides, you'll fall in love + want a hammock for a nap. Great food + service, can be very crowded but worth it. Wolfgang stopped by table to say hi + check that we were enjoying ourselves

Went door and had a seat by the bar. Not many choices for a smaller eater. Orders the NY Sirloin. Was massive ~ 12oz bone-in. By any measure it’s a huge steak. More than enough for two I reckon. Overall good and attentive service. Consistent quality. Go here if u can’t really decide which steak joint, but need to pay a little more. The aides and appetizers equally huge so I didn’t order. As the steaks are thick (abt 1.5 inches) I ordered Medium but middle is still generally pinky. Open till late or 10pm +.

I'm a vegetarian, so I wouldn't have picked a steakhouse on my own, but a friend of ours really wanted to try it so we went. The architecture was beautiful, the restaurant was extremely loud and the staff very aloof. Besides the steaks (which the others enjoyed) four of us shared mashed potato, broccoli, brussel sprouts and chopped salad. They were very good. I also had the cheesecake for dessert and it was delicious. It was an expensive meal but we expected that.

Went there tonight a party of four. We see greeted by an smiling unmasked hostess who didn’t ask or seem to care if we were vaccinated. We were seated and awaited the fourth member of our party. We were offered water and then I asked if we could please have some bread and butter as we awaited the last member of our foursome. The bread was served but wasn’t warm which was slightly disappointing. Our last guest arrived and we ordered some items two women ordered the lobster bisque and the other gentleman ordered tomatoes and onion. We then ordered the main dish and side dishes. I ordered the filet Mignone and tge German potatoes. The others agreed to split the rib eye steak and grilled asparagus. After an acceptable period of tone the dishes were served . I had ordered my steak medium but it appeared “ charred” which made it dry and not very appealing . I took a few pieces but because tge steak was rather thick it must be difficult to get the interior medium without charring the outside, additionally the German potatoes were also burnt. The others seemed to enjoy the ribeye and the conversation. I spoke to tge waiter and he called the manager who wanted to please me by offering to make another steak but at that time I was not hungry anymore. They removed the steak and thankfully removed it from the bill. By this tome the restaurant was filling up and became noisy. We then ordered desert I had their cheesecake ( from Juniors) which was served with an inordinate amount of whipped cream. The others split the tartufo and a sundae . I usually like tartufo but since it was pistachio ( again served with whipped cream in excess) so I decided to stick to my cheesecake. I believe done people believe that the restaurant may be owned by Wolfgang Puck ( hence the name) The staff is predominately Albanian and there service was good. When I asked for more hot water fir my tea it came rather quickly. The same when we asked for a glass of ice.quite frankly I have had better steak elsewhere

Not as good as last time. Food still excellent and 5*. Though I felt the staff were not friendly as before. Crisps and sides are amazing. Desserts good too.

I stayed right next door so I called to see how busy they were being a Saturday night in Mid-Town. When I got there a few minutes later the Hostess told me there were no seats even for one! I told her I just called and were told yes,the manager heard us talking and he seated me right away. I order the Salmon and it was "Amazing" the place was elbow to elbow but still it made my evening.I give a thumbs up and would eat there again.

I took my wife to this restaurant for her birthday after a show. It is fine dinning and the service was excellent. We were lucky, we just beat the crowd. We started out with drinks, they were so good we had more. Our hotel was next door (Hampton Inn) The meal was outstanding and it was a very nice place inside. The staff was great, they put a candle in our shared desert and sang Happy Birthday to her. They made this a special night. If we go to New York again I will make sure I get back to Wolfgang's Steakhouse. Thank you, for that special night!

Great, Great Porterhouse steak. Grilled to the point, they even managed that one part was medium and the other one media rare as we have mixed opinions about that in the family. My wife, daughter and myself shared one, which was enough and all of a sudden makes it a really affordable place. Staff was friendly and professional. Like in many NYC restaurants, bring your ear plugs, it's pretty load and everyone in this city is screaming :-)

Food was above average with good sized portions. You must carefully review your bill as they overcharge on items as well as add items to bill that were not ordered. Additionally added an admin fee on top of 20 percent gratuity for using credit card. Would not return to Broadway location. Don’t go with large party

The bread was cold and butter was hard, steak undercooked and inconsistent with cooking. Looks like they marked it on a grill, then tossed it into a high temp oven and burnt it. Inside raw and cold. Poor service, wait staff standing around talking in groups, not to even ask if we would like anything else, not even another drink. Crab cake was too big for an appetizer and looked like they only mixed pure crab with a lumpy binder. Burrata salad - nothing special about it. I cannot understand the high ratings with this Restuarant when the food was mediocre. Even the hostess was not approachable, barely said two words to us but to fill out the COVID form as we walked in. Usually they greet you pleasantly.

Service is great! Prices are expensive bit suitable for the area. Food not only looks amazing but tastes amazing. Worth every penny.

This is a very fine steakhouse. The ambiance, food, and service are all excellent. First rate scotches and wine list. Not one thing was missed. It's going to cost you because it is fine dining in NY but it is the best restaurant in that part of the city. Never a disappointment. Consistent all the way around

Another amazing night with a reference taste of steak. Don't miss out the tuna tartar and the bacon as starters. The waiters were kind and fast in service although it was a busy weekday evening. Any steak dish will be more than enough for one to finish.
NY Steakhouse Experience
Fantastic food. Best steak I’ve tasted. Porterhouse, Bacon, Lobster mac n cheese, and Tiramisu was excellent. It’s noisy though so be prepared!!
