Wow! This was a great meal! The wife and I made a reservation a couple of days prior it seems that was needed because come to find out they don’t take same day appointment. The meal was amazing! And the service was too. We got a prime meet package, this thing had some aged ribeye, short ribs, and 2 other meets I can’t remember now. But all of it was delicious. The inside of the restaurant was really nice modern looking, you can see that they paid attention to detail on it. I can keep going but don’t take my word for it you have to try it!

First time enjoying a delicious dinner at this Korean restaurant. Noted by The NY Times as one of the 100 best in the city, we were not disappointed. Wagyu meat and brisket was excellent. Service was very welcoming. Suggest anyone visiting NYC to plan on a meal here.

We ate here on our last night in NYC. We all loved it! We ordered the 4 meat marinated package and it was not enough (because it was SO tasty!). Kale salad was also good. Try the noodles - they get cooked in the meat juices after all the meat is cooked! Waitstaff was super friendly.

One of the best Korean meat restaurants I have been to. The service was outstanding and items were fully explained. The meat was high quality and the condiments amplified the meals be prepared for a full meal as everything especially their dumplings were over the top. A beautiful door welcomed you in snd the hostesses are charming and exacting . A bit to be missed spot but at a higher price point.

Can meat marry veggies, yes it’s possible here. We had the bbq platter that was neatly prepared at the table (and we agree, no smelling cloths afterwards, which isn’t as easy as it sounds) and we had mini dishes with all kinds of healthy food and some spicy sauces,... we spend a good few hours eating without the feeling of being full. Deco is nice, the bar very inviting so all good for a nice Korean dinner in a modern place.

Me and my wife were headed back to our hotel when we stopped to read the menu at this Korean BBQ restaurant. The hostess came out and told us about the food. Later that night we went back to that restaurant. We had Octopus Stew in a hot pot, Anchovy Asian Noodle Soup (I couldn't taste the anchovy), and Fried Rice. There were about 7 small different side dishes The rice had melted mozzarella on it. This was something we have never had. The meal was excellent!!!!!

Our party of 5 made a reservation via Resy for a Sunday at 1 PM. My friend had requested KBBQ for her birthday lunch - this place had good reviews, and it was one of the only places that accepted reservations for lunchtime, so it was a done deal. Since KBBQ is very shareable, we ordered a BUNCH of dishes. Here is everything we ate (FYI, they don't have a lunch menu during the weekends - it's just their dinner menu): Busan Neighborhood Pancake (scallion, galbi, shrimp, egg) - the flavors were nice but the texture was a bit too soggy for me. However, it was a nice change from the typical Korean scallion/seafood pancakes. Japchae (glass noodle, marinated short rib, bell pepper, mushroom, onion, chives) - really cannot go wrong with japchae Korean Fried Chicken (boneless thigh, homemade sauce, pickled radish) - this was really good. The chicken was fried perfectly and the sauce was good. But, it was a little bit too salty for me Seafood Ricecake Tteokbokki (fried vegetable, crab, shrimp, manila clam, little neck clam, baby octopus, rice cake, fried egg) - they gave a lot of seafood so if you love seafood, this is the dish for you Prime/Mari Package (marinated short rib, beef belly, dry aged ribeye, wagyu flat iron) - honestly, I don't remember which cut was which but I just remember it all being good. We went with this package because we did want some of it marinated but not all because in my past experiences with KBBQ, all the marinades pretty much taste the same. Plus, if it's quality beef (which it definitely was), you wouldn't need the marinade anyway - just a little bit of salt and you're good to go For drinks, I had the W.A.P. Whiskey and Pomegranate (Bourbon, Pomegranate, Blood orange) - this was pretty good. I must say, their cocktails are pretty creative. I'm glad it's not just like other KBBQ places where they just have soju and beer (which they do have of course). You'll likely find a cocktail for every tastebud. Overall, it was a great KBBQ experience and I would love to come back!

Finally a high quality (service, meat selections, and even premium soju) Korean BBQ place that will take reservations 🙌. What’s not to like?! ❣️

If you are planning on doing the barbecue, go with more than two people, because there is just too much meat for two. I told the server we had never been to a Korean bbq and asked what to get. When she said wagyu and brisket, I asked whether we should just get one. She said we needed to order two dinners. And then I asked if the Bonsu pancake as an app would be too much…she said no, get it. Well, it was too much. Glad we didn’t finish the pancake ( although it was delicious) because we couldn’t finish all the meat. I personally enjoyed the brisket way more than the wagyu, which was extremely fatty. The sides were all good, except the green salad…which was sprinkled with sriracha? Cocktails were lovely. Water was continually filled, which was nice. I didn’t appreciate the amount of texts they sent confirming the reservation, nor the emphasis that we had 90 minutes to eat….after all, since they are the ones determining when to cook the meat—isn’t it their responsibility to flip the table in time? Now I’m wondering why I gave it a “very good” instead of just a “good.” Because my take away is that they just didn’t make us feel welcome or comfortable.

Reviews for now will focus on 3 Parts 1. How they deal with the pandemic situation 2. Service and how it feels for Europeans (as this is what I am)- differences 3. Food, glorious food My daughter came back from Korea overtly enthusiastic everything was great - and the food…. No originally I put this down to teenage enthusiasm but after our meal at JUA she might be onto something So on this day day something more ‘normal’ a Korean BBQ We are complete novices to this so when we booked did not know what to expect… You sit around a powerful gas grill and have your food prepared by the host for you- you choose a selection of starters and sides and it is all brought to you It is an experience This was perhaps the best pandemic response of any place we have been - All tables were separated through screens and therefore wider spaced - there was alcohol gel on every table and all were masked etc… 5/5 The service was friendly and enthusiastic with a clearly Asian smile- but we had some communication problems whether this was our or their side I cannot say but we would have liked to be advised that we massively over ordered - we could have fed 4- sad for the dishes…. What we ate was excellent A tuna and mango salad fresh light spiced I could eat this all the time 10/10 A Busan Omelette- I still do not know what was all inside (and our smiling server either did not know either or could not understand my question or say in English)- but boy was this good 10/10 Then the meat feast- a crescendo of beef with galbi cut (i have googled this and we will learn to do it) short rib and a culmination in a wagyu rib eye steak- I had to eat it all although I could hardly walk- this was great 10/10 I just need to bring friends next time- the price for this more than reasonable Creative cocktails with it also

High quality food, excellent service. Try the Haeundae Cut rib. We love Korean Barbecue, this one is special.

Excellent restaurant: we ate here two evenings because it's really worth it. The grilled mackerel is exceptional. Great New York beer and impeccable service

We visited there last night . The service was great !!! And meat and and side were amazing !!! Thank you YOON team !!!

So far is the best Korean BBQ restaurant that i have been, the ambience is very nice, super clean, frinedly people, not crowded, cozy and the most important you will leave the restaurant with out smelling BBQ. the food is very tasty , delicious

The food was very delicious and the staff cooks the the meats in front of you. We selected the Marinated Package which includes marinated Short Rib ,marinated N.Y. Strip, marinated Beef Belly, and all the sides.

Big fan of this place. Yoon Haeundae Galbi is pricier than their neighbors, but the quality of meat is evidently higher. There's a healthy amount of unique and tasty appetizers, diverse meat cuts, and fun after grilling eats. Although what's provided as complementary dishes at other Korean bbq joints aren't free here, at least the flavor is impressive and worth paying extra for.

The meat is fresh and well-prepared. The side dishes are tasty and one can get refills for any dish one likes. The service is great and all in all - a great experience.

Meat packages were delicious as were side dishes. Very nice presentation. Service was terrific and the meal was an excellent value for price.

Good beef selection and very attentive servers. Bit light on the side bonchons, kimchee was super sour. Overall enjoyed the food and dining. I was 10min late for a reservation and I was reminded twice I only had 80min to dine before I had vacate the table. I knew most casual restaurants had time limitation, but to be reminded twice is bit rude. So called managers were very rude and seemed very inexperienced. I done very frequently and understand the table turnover, but could be called communicated much better. I rather go back to Cote or other restaurants in the Korea town.

Highly recommend this place. Even the complimentary dishes they serve to start are as good as any I’ve had. The star on the menu is intended to be the kalbi, but incidentally, that was not the best thing we had. The best meat we had was the brisket which was out of this world; the bulgogi was decent. Another star on the menu is the seafood silky tofu stew, which was simply outstanding. Why not 5 stars? I admit, I could be biased about giving a BBQ such a high rating as “elevation” of this type of food is challenging in my opinion. That said, try this place out, you will not be disappointed.

We made a reservation for two people at 3:30 on a Sunday. It was busy. The staff were friendly and the restaurant was clean, including the restrooms. They served about six small dishes as a service. The kalbi was very tender and delicious. We also ordered seafood tteokbokki and bibimbap, but the portions were so large that there were about three servings each, and unfortunately we couldn't finish it all.

We visited New York during Christmas time. Since we never had the chance to try Korean food we decided to visit this restaurant. We booked it a month in advance. We asked the service to help us to understand Korean kitchen and how it works. The service was friendly and helpful. Since this is the first time visiting this restaurant, we can‘t really compare. But we can say this is the right place to learn how Korean kitchen works. So a good place for fresh starters. The meal was very tasty, we liked the spices and additional side dishes. A nice evening in a stylish, modern environment.

A little bit away from K-town proper (36th St vs. 32nd), Yoon Haeundae Galbi is a higher-end Korean BBQ spot and a fine one at that. It's not as boisterous and bustling as other K-BBQ venues, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. For one, Yoon Haeundae takes (and holds - as Jerry S complained "You know how to take a reservation, but you don't know how to hold a reservation") reservations which is very convenient. For another, the pace is more leisurely than K-town 32nd St but that actually allows you to enjoy and appreciate the meat courses more - no rushed feeling to finish eating so as to make your table available for the next seating. Service was excellent and very attentive; glasses were refilled with out having to ask. We started off with their hamachi salad appetizer: cubes of raw yellowtail drizzled with a mild kochujang dressing and julienned vegetables. Very good. We also tried their mung bean pancake which was only okay in our opinion, a bit on the heavy side. The steamed mandu were large and hefty, pleasingly overstuffed with filling, but again, the flavor was just okay. However, Yoon's banchan offerings - kimchees, namuls, and other small dishes - were well-prepared and quite good. We also tried the seafood tofu jigae and it was generous with 2 large head-on shrimp, half a blue crab, and a brace of clams. Very tasty - and we recommend getting Yoon's excellent brown rice to go with it rather than the obligatory white rice. For the main grilling event, we chose the prime package meat combo with American wagyu beef and added a la carte the wagyu beef tongue. The tongue was tender and thin; the beef brisket was also good; but the wagyu rib meat was better; the wagyu ribeye was even better (a whole steak cooked to your liking and then sliced); and simply the best was the super marbled wagyu short rib which was simply melt-in-your-mouth buttery good. As a finishing touch, we got some noodles to stir-fry with the delicious pan juices. This is certainly a high-quality beef offering that you don't normally find in the typical K-town eatery and well worth the extra price.

We chose this restaurant to celebrate a birthday and we were very happy about it. Both the food and the service were amazing! All staff was very attentive. We highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be back ourselves.

Lovely ambience and great service. The marinated short ribs were delicious. The mango makkus were new to us but very good. We ordered we ordered short ribs and the brisket and had plenty of food for 2 people. It didn't come with some things we expected like rice and lettuce. Reading the reviews, it looks like lettuce was extra. The sauce it did come with was sweet. The banchan was pretty good but you have to ask for refills. They didn't offer when they picked up the empty dishes. I would definitely come back. Best with a reservation.

Located in Koreatown, on West 36th Street between 5th and 6th Avenues of downtown, NYC, this elegant and classy establishment is a relative newcomer to the NYC food scene… opened in early 2018, but with very old credentials that harken back to home in Busan, Korea, that were established by the owner’s grandfather in 1964. Found this establishment by chance, wandering around midtown after an event ~ and it looked attractive… though there were hardly any other diners on a late Saturday night. Normally, we would not go into a place that has no other diners, but the steward at the door said they were new… so why not give it a try ? It certainly looked good: a stylish, elegant, large space, set out with earthy materials: tile walls ~ both ceramics and stoneware, juxtaposed with wood panels and absolutely no artwork, wood topped tables with hibachi grills set in them, and bare stone and tile floors. The overall space is divided into large and small, private spaces, to allow catering for special occasions... overall, a very, spectacularly nice interior and ambiance. As it turned out, this place was an excellent choice: we had two glasses of Clos du Bois ($22) from what is a very well appointed drinks menu (offering a full range of cocktails from the huge bar, and excellent wines, sakes and spirits) and a Mustard shrimp salad ($15) to start. The shrimp was soft, crispy outside, and cooked just right without turning chewy, and had a very nice and sharp mustard punch. The greens in this dish are unusual: lotus root, bell pepper and frisee salad greens… just delicious and crisp. For mains, we chose the Grilled soybean mackerel ($18) and Galbi bibimbap ($18.) The mackerel was prime from the market and rolled deliciously off the bone, with a soybean marinade and grilled onions, which were just the right sweetness to offset the soybean and white, salty flesh. The bibimbap was a marinated short rib, with assorted vegetables sautéed lightly, and egg on top. All the items were delicious ~ quickly and expertly prepared. And equally quickly and expertly devoured ~ with glee. The service was very courteous and prompt, though by now there were a few other diners that had come in after us. Overall, a very good experience, at $90 for the two of us, including tax and tips… this was a bit expensive when you consider we didn’t eat a lot, but it promises to be good place to return to someday. I expect they are doing pretty well, by now. Thank you.

Really enjoyed this must visit restaurant in NYC. Friendly and welcoming staff, outstanding authentic Korean dinner...must return!

Pre-theatre dinner on a June weekday by myself. The service is fabulous. Got a table by the stairs; a glass of ice water and a waiter arrived within the blink. Ordered the mushroom bibimbap and the banchan arrived with someone to tell me what everything was(!). I didn't try the mashed potato; the kimchi had heat and refreshing crunch. The pickled jalapeño plus didn't have enough heat for me (later, the gochujang sauce was similarly lacking). The steamed broccoli banchan was off the charts! Later the waiter noticed I'd eaten all of the broccoli and brought me more. The hot stone bibimbap came really quickly and was sizzling - it was very hot. The egg was cooked a little more than I like, but that may have been the ambient heat from the sizzling bowl/food while the waiter explained to me how to prepare the dish ("Put the sauce in and stir it all around!") and I taste tested the gochujang sauce. By the time I dumped most of the sauce in and broke the yolk, it was nearly fully cooked. Because I didn't order a drink, the check was less than $20 and I left a fat tip.

More than happy to found this place reopen again , restaurant neat clean , reasonable price, good food, one of the best Korean in NYC, my lunch was light, healthy & Fantastic, will come back & give out the recommendation

I love Korean food and frequent restaurants in Koreatown often. I went here with a friend who was travelling into town for the night. The food was very tasty and the service in the beginning seemed good. We arrived right on time for our reservation and ordered cocktails, appetizers, and entrees. About an hour into our meal, the waitress came over to say that in 20 minutes the next reservation would be coming, and we would need to get up. We had a lot of food left to eat and hadn't finished our drinks. They quickly whisked away our grill and didn't ask if we wanted to order anything else, including dessert. We definitely wanted to order more and couldn't. The waitress then paced around our table anxiously for 20 minutes putting pressure on us to hurry up and offering to "pack" the food to go that we were still eating!! It was awful. I am a native new yorker and have never experienced anything like that before as a paying customer at a restaurant. That is considered horrible customer service. When we left, we noticed TONS of empty tables that could have been filled first before we were rudely kicked out. It's such a shame because the food was good, but I would not come here again nor recommend this to anyone given the experience I had.
Great experience
We had never tried Korean BBQ before, but thoroughly enjoyed it. There is a great choice of meat cuts (fresh vs. marinated), and some lovely side dishes. An explanation of the concept would have been great (we felt a bit fish out of water) since we had never experienced this before. That said, the food was excellent. I wish also there was a way to get the waiter (chef) to slow down a little - I feel like as soon as we were done with one cut, he was ready to grill the next which made us feel a bit rushed. There are some tasty dumplings and the sweet potato noodles are a wonderful addition. The ban chan seemed ok to me as well and was very flavorful. I would consider a small course of sherbet to be included in the end as part of the meal to cool down the palate after all the meat. It would be such a nice touch! Overall, a great experience.
