On the afternoon of October 21, 2020, I had lunch in Weishan Ancient City, Dali City, Yunnan Province. Then go to
Weibao Mountain, located about 10 kilometers southeast of Weishan County. The mountains are hazy and hazy, and the traces of Nanzhao are all shrouded in misty rain.
Weibao Mountain has a total area of 19.4 square kilometers, the top of the mountain is 2509 meters above sea level, the mountain is majestic, majestic, from the northeast to the southwest, stretching for dozens of miles, the peaks are undulating, the mountain shape is like a squatting lion looking back at Weishan County, in 1992 it was listed as a national forest park, for China is one of the four famous mountains in the country, is a collection of natural scenery, Nanzhao root culture and Taoist culture as one of the famous mountains. Weibao Mountain was opened in the Han Dynasty, and since the Tang Dynasty began to build Taoist temples, flourishing in the Ming and Qing dynasties, and by the end of the Qing Dynasty, Taoist temples were all over the mountain, because it was the birthplace of the Nanzhao Kingdom, and the Taoist temples here had some imprints of Nanzhao culture.
took the car up the mountain, came to the gate of Weibao Fairy Mountain, got off and moved forward, but saw that the ancient trees on the mountain were towering, the shade was lush, the streams and springs were dingdong, and the flowers and grass were lush. Under the shroud of rain and fog, Weibao Mountain has a hint of ethereal artistic conception.
Weibao Mountain is the birthplace of the Nanzhao Kingdom and the place where the ancestor of Nanzhao, the Yi people, cultivated, rand, and made their fortunes. When you enter the mountain, the first temple you see is the Nanzhao Tuzhu Temple.
Entering the temple gate, there is a mountain-style hall enshrined in the first generation of Nanzhao Wang Xinuluo.
Nanzhao Tuzhu Temple, also known as "Xunshan Hall", or "Patrol Mountain Tuzhu Temple", is said to be the Xinuluo family temple, the earliest and largest Tuzhu temple in China, and is the center and source of the worship of the Yi people. It is said that every year on the 15th and 16th days of the first lunar month, the Yi people go to the Tuzhu Temple to kill pigs and sheep to worship their ancestors Xinuluo. Since the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty, from the first day of the second lunar month to the fifteenth day of the second month of the lunar calendar, the local Yi people held a temple fair at the Tuzhu Temple in Weibaoshan.
There are mural carvings of the Bodhisattva Dot Xinuluo in the temple, but there is also a Taoist legend of "Laojun Dot Xinuluo" in Weibao Mountain, which is said to be the King of Nanzhao, and after his death, he was named the land lord of the mountain, becoming the "mountain god" of Yunnan Taoism, that is, a main god of Yunnan Taoism. These shows that in the process of Taoism and Buddhism being introduced to Yunnan, the local primitive religions of Yunnan were integrated, rooted in the primitive religions of the Yunnan ethnic group, absorbed nutrients, and became one.
Leave the Tuzhu Temple and continue along the forest mountain road to Wenchang Palace.
Walking through the majestic mountain gate, there is the front hall dedicated to Guan Yu in front of you.
past the front hall, there is a pool of clear spring called "Longtan".
is a bluestone fence around the dragon pool, the stone fence carving is exquisite, the stone lion shape is vivid, and the mottled imprints on the stone carvings of the stone fence. It is a confirmation of the traces of ancient history.
poolside weeping willows, such as spring, willow shadows are like smoke reflecting the pool water, the flowery branches are quiet, the "dragon pond smoke willow" The landscape is one of the eight famous Weibao Mountains.
There is a hexagonal pavilion pavilion built in the 24th year of Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty (1795 AD) called "Wenlong Pavilion", and there is an arch bridge in front and behind the pavilion leading to the pool bank.
tour guide pointed me to the pavilion pier on the west side of Wenlong Pavilion, where there is a mural called "Stepping Song Map" on the wall of the waterfront pier.
This painting was painted in the 24th year of Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty (1795 AD) when the pavilion was built, about 1.2 meters long, the upper part is clear and intact, and the lower part is a little blurry due to water damage. The picture shows: 40 people sing on the ground, 34 people dance in a circle; 3 people in the circle danced and played the sheng flute, which was the center of the dance field; There are also 3 people outside the circle, blowing and fanning, as if to cheer up. The dancers in the picture are mostly dressed in Yi costumes, men wear long gowns and hoods, and women wear shoulders and black waists. The whole painting is full of layout, the lines are outlined brightly, full of flow, and truly reproduce the scene of the Weishan Yi people singing and celebrating two hundred years ago, which is not only a precious Qing Dynasty Yi singing picture, but also the earliest ancient Yi singing mural found in Yunnan so far, known as the treasure of Weibaoshan Town.
Wenchang Palace was originally a place where the local indigenous Yi people worshipped the Dragon King, so the hall behind the pavilion was named "Longtan Hall". During the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, the Longtan Hall was changed to Wenchang Palace, with the main hall for Emperor Wenchang and the front hall for Emperor Guansheng.
There is a crescent-shaped divine spring well in Wenchang Palace, and it is said that Meng You, the brother of Meng Huo, the Yi master at the end of the Han Dynasty, once lived here to practice. When Zhuge Liang captured Meng Huo seven times, because the soldiers mistakenly drank dumb spring water and could not speak, Zhuge Liang personally went to the palace to visit Meng You's antidote to save the soldiers.
Leaving Wenchang Palace, I remembered that I saw a book about the scenery of Weibao Mountain in the hotel in the morning, which mentioned that there was a tall ancient camellia tree in Yunnan that was 18 meters high and 39 centimeters thick, and had grown for more than 400 years. I asked the tour guide and said it was nearby, so I wanted to go and see it, but my companion had no interest in traveling, so the tour guide accompanied me alone.
Not far ahead, you will arrive at the Lord Pavilion (Ling Palace), and when you enter the temple, you will see the slim and graceful ancient camellia tree.
This tree is a "laurel leaf silver red" camellia tree planted in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, because it towers over the house and is close to the main hall, and when it blooms, it is full of red flowers and shines on the red hall, so it is also called "Zhaodian Hong". If the flowers bloom in early spring and February, the ancient camellia blooms into hundreds of flowers, the flowers are as large as bowls, red as rouge, and the camellia is red, which is a spectacle.
I really want to walk in Weibao Mountain again, but the team activities are very unpleasant, so I can only go back.
Weibao Mountain is famous for being the birthplace of Nanzhao and the holy place of Taoism, and since the Han Dynasty, Taoist priests have been looking for this hidden practice, and Taoism was at its peak in the Ming and Qing dynasties. Many Taoist priests entered Weibao Mountain to live in seclusion and practice, accept disciples and preach, and there are more than 20 palaces and temples built on the north and south sides of the main peak, these Taoist palaces and temples are rigorously laid out, complete in format, spectacular, and their architectural shapes have distinctive characteristics of ancient ethnic minority buildings and local characteristics, completely retaining the construction legacy of the Ming and Qing dynasties, reflecting the distant charm of ancient Taoist culture. The mural carvings in the palace hall are rich and colorful, the images are realistic and expressive, and they are quite valuable as historical relics.
Weibao Mountain Peak Beautiful Valley Secluded, Clear Stream Return, Scenic Spots There are also many scenic spots, tasting tea before the rain in spring, watching the sea of clouds and smoke in summer, enjoying the full moon of osmanthus in autumn, the sunshine on the winter solstice, listening to the water flow at night to adjust the bamboo and stone, and watching the clouds rise in front of the mountain during the day, which is also an elegant thing. If you have the opportunity, it is worth visiting Weibao Mountain to see the ancient scenery, see the nature of the mind, and wander carefully.
