Mount Emei boasts numerous scenic spots, but they're relatively scattered. To fully explore, you'll need to stay at least one night in the scenic area. It's best to consider your accommodations based on your itinerary. You can find accommodations at Hongchunping, Xianfeng Temple, and Xixiangchi. You can decide where to stay based on your travel schedule. Unless you're traveling during peak season like National Day, you should be able to find a bed. It's best to reach Leidongping so you can get up early the next day and watch the sunrise.
Urban or mountainous areas: Conveniently located near Baoguo Temple and enjoying the hot springs. Star-rated hotels are concentrated near Baoguo Temple in the mountainous areas. Options include Hongzhushan Hotel, Wenquan Hotel, and Emeishan Grand Hotel (the three major hot spring hotels), with average prices ranging from 700 to 1000 yuan. Budget hotels are plentiful in the mountainous areas, and even more so in the urban area. Prices are relatively reasonable, ranging from a few dozen yuan to over a hundred yuan. Staying in the urban area offers easy access to delicious food street, and a taxi to the Baoguo Temple scenic area is only 10-20 yuan.
Zhongshan District: Zhongshan District is the place where hiking tourists choose to stay. Staying here will not make your body too tired. There are many farmhouse hotels in the Qingyin Pavilion area. The average consumption per person is about 30-50 yuan, but the accommodation conditions are average.
Mountainous areas: For convenient sunrise viewing at Jinding, stay at Jinding, Leidongping, or Xixiangchi. Jinding boasts the Jinding Grand Hotel, with rates around 600 yuan. Leidongping and Xixiangchi temples offer accommodations, and there are also numerous nearby farmhouse hostels, offering a wide range of options. It's best to book accommodations at Jinding during the off-season, as prices increase and availability is extremely limited during peak season. It's also best to book in advance.
Temples: Temple accommodation is a major feature of Mount Emei. Along the way, you'll find numerous temples, large and small, nearly all of which offer guest rooms, ranging from 30-60 yuan per bed and 100-160 yuan per room. Recommended temples include Baoguo Temple, Qingyin Pavilion, Hongchunping, Bailong Cave, Wannian Temple, and Xixinsuo.
Temple prices don't increase during peak season, but they can go from 30 yuan for a single layperson bed to 160 yuan for a new double room, and rooms might be sold out by 10:00 a.m. Furthermore, Mount Emei temples don't accept reservations, so if you're planning to stay there, it's best to make sure you book in time.
Farmhouse Hostels: Farmhouse hostels are most concentrated near Qingyin Pavilion, so you can compare a few before deciding. The average cost per person is around 30-50 RMB.
