One starts at Qingyin Pavilion and continues through Hongchunping, Xianfeng Temple, and Yuxian Temple to Leidongping, a total distance of 40.5 kilometers. The other starts at Wannian Temple and continues through Xixinso and Chudian to Leidongping, a total distance of 21.5 kilometers. When starting a hike, it's a gradual process. D2: Hongchunping → (15km) → Xianfeng Temple → (12.5km) → Xixiangchi → (7.5km) → Leidongping → Jieyin Hall → (4.5km) → Taiziping

Day 1: Depart from Chengdu Xinnanmen Station in the morning and take a 2.5-hour bus (44 yuan) to the Emeishan Bus Station in downtown, avoiding traffic. From here, a taxi costs 10 yuan, and a minibus costs 5 yuan. After entering the scenic area, begin the climb along the road next to Bao'en Temple, passing Fuhu Temple, Leiyin Temple, Chunyang Hall, Shenshui Pavilion, Zhongfeng Temple, and Guangfu Temple to Qingyin Pavilion. The climb is 10 kilometers long and the slope is not steep. Purchase your Emeishan ticket at the ticket booth and enter the scenic area (tickets will be frequently checked, so don't try to evade them). After admiring Qingyin Pavilion, continue ascending, passing Yixiantian (One Line Sky) and the monkey area. Be careful with water bottles and cameras, and avoid the monkeys. Above the monkey area is Hongchunping, 6 kilometers from Qingyin Pavilion. It's best to arrive at Qingyin Pavilion before 6:30 PM to enjoy vegetarian meals. Stay overnight at Hongchunping Temple.
Day 2: After setting off, you'll first reach the "99 Turns," a challenging section of the trail. Then, you'll reach Xianfeng Temple, where you can worship the God of Wealth. The road then continues mostly downhill until you reach Yuxian Temple, where the road becomes uphill again. Soon, you'll reach the second most challenging section of the Emei Mountain climb: Zuantian Slope, which leads to Xixiangchi. Next, you'll reach the third challenging section: Lianwang Slope, the most challenging section of the entire Mount Emei Mountain. After a short rest at Leidongping (where you can stay overnight), continue your journey, passing Jieyindian (where you can take the cable car to the Golden Summit for 65 yuan per person) and Qilipo, before arriving at Taiziping. Here, you'll find numerous farmhouses offering accommodations.
Day 3: Depart at 5:30 AM and arrive at Golden Summit around 6:00 AM. The temperature at Golden Summit is low and the wind is strong, so wear a coat. After enjoying the scenery of Golden Summit, descend the mountain and walk 6 km to Leidongping. Unless you are a serious mountaineer, take a bus down the mountain for 50 yuan per person, with the bus departing once the group is full. Alternatively, take a small car for 40 yuan per person, which generally seats 7. For more enthusiasts, take the back mountain route (Huayanding Route). Return tickets to Chengdu Xinnanmen Station can be purchased at the bus station at the foot of the mountain for 44 yuan per person.
