Shangri-La's accommodations fully meet the needs of tourists, with hotels and guesthouses of all levels and prices. The area around Tuanjie Road and Beimen Street in the county town is home to a high concentration of hotels. The former Old Town area has been largely transformed into a hotel and bar district, similar to Lijiang.
In Shangri-La, most guesthouses offer showers, usually powered by solar water heaters, so it's best to shower around 6:00 PM. By the evening, the hot water will have run out, leaving you with no hot water for showers.
During the Spring Festival, many people come to Shangri-La to see the snow, and many inns and restaurants will be closed. It is recommended to book a room in advance. Winters are very cold, so it is recommended to choose an inn with air conditioning or heating. When camping on the grasslands in the summer, be sure to light a bonfire.
The ancient city is home to a number of residential-style inns, offering affordable accommodations, pleasant surroundings, and unique character. Prices generally range from 100 to 280 yuan. Mid-range and high-end hotels in the ancient city range from 380 to 980 yuan. For backpackers or independent travelers, inns offer a better value.
Tibetan houses are simple yet elegant, relaxing yet homely, and are more suitable for couples or groups of friends traveling together.

Accommodation outside the ancient city is mainly concentrated in Shangri-La County and Feilai Temple in Deqin County. If you want to see Meili Snow Mountain, accommodation in Deqin County is the best choice. In addition, there are also some inns or hotels near Tiger Leaping Gorge and Songzanlin Temple.
Far from the hustle and bustle of the city, Kena Village lies at the foot of Songzanlin Monastery. A modest Tibetan-style earthenware building was built on the site of the old house where the hotel's founder, Pema Dorje, grew up. The hotel faces a wetland lake, home to waterfowl, and the surrounding hillsides. If it snows overnight, the snow-capped mountains appear unrealistically close when you open the window in the morning. The sunny courtyard is home to goldfish, azaleas, and wisteria. The cozy restaurant's fireplace warms every visitor.
