Nature has magically woven a mosaic of over 400 pearl-like islands. These are the Shengsi Islands, renowned for their "blue sea, unique reefs, and golden sands with fishing boats." Shengsi, located in Zhoushan City, Zhejiang Province, is known as the "Fairy Mountain on the Sea." Gazing at the sea from the cliffs is like sailing on the turquoise waves, feeling the ocean's breath amidst islands embraced by the water. Carrying countless legends about the fairy islands of the East China Sea, the Shengsi Islands, scattered across Hangzhou Bay, boast 400 islands, a patchwork of zigzags. Facing Shanghai across the sea, one can hear the waves crashing against the waves. Shengsi County is truly a county nestled on an island. Sijiao Island is the heart of the Shengsi Islands, where the crescent-shaped Jihu Beach embraces the sea, creating a narrow, narrow seaside paradise. From bathing and surfing to sand sculptures and bonfires, everything you could want for a seaside trip is available here.
Sijiao Island: Sijiao Island is the location of Sijiao Scenic Area. Caiyuan Town here is also the seat of Shengsi County Government and a distribution center for travel to various places. Therefore, compared with other places, it is relatively prosperous, with relatively concentrated accommodation, shopping and entertainment.
Shengsi Islands: Shengshan Island, Gouqi Island, Huaniao Island, Luhua Island, and Dayangshan Island are all outlying islands of the main Sijiao Island, offering even more pristine natural scenery. The most convenient way to reach them is by boat from the main Shengsi Island.
Shengsi enjoys a subtropical maritime monsoon climate, boasting a cool and pleasant climate with distinct seasonal scenery. With an average annual temperature of 15.8°C, it offers neither extreme summer heat nor severe winter cold, making it a year-round holiday destination. In contrast, July to September is the most beautiful time of year, with its endless island scenery and azure waters.
Shengsi is close to Shanghai, so the temperature is similar to Shanghai year-round, but the temperature swings between day and night are significant. Bring an extra jacket in summer and autumn, and a down jacket is recommended in winter. Shengsi's rainy season is from March to June and September. Remember to bring rain gear. In the summer, the sun is strong and mosquitoes are rampant, so mosquito repellent is essential.
Taking the bus to the island, buying groceries at the local market, staying in a hotel, and going out to sea together can all be done comfortably for 600 yuan per person. For an extreme option, you can stay in a tent, have a barbecue, and skip the entrance fee, and you can get by with 300 yuan for two days.
It is famous for its island scenery of blue sea, strange reefs, golden sand and fishing lights.
