Sights in Shengsi

Sijiao Scenic Area

The Sijiao Scenic Area, centered around the main island of Sijiao, boasts stretches of blue sea and golden sand. Sijiao Island alone boasts 14 high-quality beaches of varying sizes, including the renowned Jihu Beach and Nanchangtu Beach, each over 2,000 meters long. These two beaches, one in the south and one in the north, nestle against the backdrop of mountains and forests. Their beautifully shaped beaches, fine sand, and gentle, flat terrain make them rare large-scale bathing beaches in China, ideal for sand bathing, sunbathing, and marine sports. Jihu Beach is known as the "Beidaihe of the South" and the "Hawaii of China."

Jihu Beach

Jihu Beach, nestled against the mountains and the sea, is crescent-shaped and slopes gently into the sea. It is the largest beach in East China. It is long and narrow, with firm beach ground, clean sand, and gentle waters below.

There are two small hills near the beach, the inner and outer hills. The inner hill is a high platform on the beach, covered with weeds and a few small pine trees. There is a small cave on the rock wall, and a small pavilion on the top of the hill is a good place to look out at the blue sky and blue sea.

Nanchangtu Beach

Nanchangtu Beach is composed of three beaches: Nanchangtu, Gaochangwan, and Shizhu. At the junction of Nanchangtu and Gaochangwan, there are cliff rocks that stand like stone gates, known as the Big and Small Longyan Stones. There are also some small islands around the beach.

Nanchangtu Beach is clean, soft, and creamy yellow, shimmering like a crescent moon amidst the azure sea and verdant hills. Enjoy the fun of the sea with bathing, beach soccer, game barbecues, and crab digging (except in peak season, when the beach is generally closed to other activities). While the entertainment options aren't as extensive as those at Jihu Beach, it's relatively less crowded, making for a more enjoyable experience.

Dabei Mountain

Dabei Mountain is the third highest peak in Shengsi Islands. It is named after the great compassion and mercy in Buddhist Guanyin culture.

The highest point of Lingyin Temple boasts an observation deck, offering the perfect vantage point for panoramic views. From here, you can enjoy a bird's-eye view of the stunning Jihu and Nanchangtu beaches. Formerly known as the "Great Compassion Summit," the view reveals towering islands and reefs, while clouds drift across the vast azure sea and sky, creating a sense of being transported to a fairyland. During Buddhist festivals, the Dabei Mountain Lingyin Temple, nestled against the mountainside, is bustling with villagers from islands across the county, who gather in droves to burn incense, worship, and count the Arhats.

Flower and Bird Island

Located at the northernmost tip of the Shengsi Islands, Huaniao Island, shaped like a seagull about to take flight, is known for its lush vegetation and beautiful forests. The island is shrouded in mist year-round. Tiger Cave, Cloud Cave, and Monkey Cave are among its scenic attractions. Cloud Cave is said to reach the bottom of the ocean. Nanchang, on the eastern cliffs of Xiandong, is a great spot for watching the waves. The strong winds and high waves there create a spectacular spectacle. Huaniao Island is also awash with flowers, including azaleas, lilies, and daffodils. Spring is especially vibrant, with the mountain blossoms in full bloom and their fragrance captivating the entire place.

Liujingtan

Early in the morning, standing on the edge of Liujingtou, quietly waiting for the eastern sky to brighten, the red sun bursting out from the end of the sea, illuminating the sea surface red, and I was filled with an indescribable excitement from head to toe. Thousands of fishing boats sailed towards the East China Sea, facing the red sun, a spectacular sight.

The newly built wooden staircase, where the First Dragon Throne of the East China Sea stands, leads you down. As you descend, you'll find yourself on a daunting journey, with sheer cliffs beneath your feet and the roar of the tide in your ears. You'll also be able to admire the bizarre reefs and rocks, and the ever-changing sea.

Jinji Mountain

Jinjishan is a small island very close to Sijiao. It's home to a fishing village, and the view of the fishing harbor from atop the island is a perfect photo opportunity. Experience the charm of the fishing village and harbor and get a glimpse into the authentic life of fishermen.

Goji Island

Gouqi Island is the second largest island in the archipelago. The charming Gouqi Beach is located on the eastern end of the island. On the southern cliffs, you'll find scenic spots such as Xiaoxitian, the "Mountain and Sea Wonders" monument, the Mazu Temple, the Tiger Rock, the Dragon Emerging from the Water, and the Island Sand Monument.

Yangshan Scenic Area

The Yangshan Scenic Area consists of 83 small islands and reefs, including Dayangshan Island, Xiaoyangshan Island, and Shenjiawan Island. It has many bare rocks and bald stones, and the roads are rugged and uneven. It is characterized by magical rocks and reefs and cliff carvings.

Xiaoyang Island is nestled between precipitous cliffs and dotted with unusual rocks. Every ten steps brings a new scene, and every five steps brings a new view. Walking among the mountains and rivers, you'll encounter narrow paths and dense jungles. Jumping on rocks of all sizes, you'll also see rare stone sights like the magical Stone Dragon, Sister Stone, Dragon-Suppressing Stone, Water-Grinding Ball Stone, and the Twin Dragons Watching the Tide.

Huanglong Island

It consists of two islands, the Big Huanglong Island and the Small Huanglong Island, and is considered to be an almost pristine island in Shengsi.

Dahuanglong Island is one of the earliest islands in the Shengsi Archipelago to be inhabited by ancient people. It boasts a rich tapestry of cultural and natural attractions, most notably the Yuanbao Stone. Xiaohuanglong Island, located to the left of Dahuang Island, is an uninhabited island that can be viewed from a distance.

The vast sea area surrounding Huanglong Island is rich in fish resources, especially the "Golden Hook Shrimp", which is highly favored by people from all walks of life.
