We arrived at Mugecuo Scenic Area in the afternoon. I still don’t understand the origin of Kangding Love Song and Mugecuo. The lyrics clearly mention Paomashan Mountain, so how come Mugecuo became Kangding Love Song Scenic Area? No matter, since we are here, we should make the best of it.

When the weather is clear, the scenery of Mugecuo is still remarkable. The snow-capped mountains in the distance are set against the blue sky, white clouds and the wide lake, which looks particularly holy and magnificent, making people feel relaxed and happy.

The trail down the mountain is built along the stream. Not far from the lake is a rocky beach, and the larger rocks are painted with various Tibetan Buddhist statues. When I saw the Green Tara statue (prostrations to the Green Tara Bodhisattva) against the backdrop of the snow-capped mountains, I began to feel a little dazed.

Kangding Love Song (Mugecuo) Scenic Area is not only the hometown of love songs, but also the art palace of nature. It is not only a place that Bodhisattva likes, but also a paradise that humans yearn for. In the depths of winter, Mugecuo is covered in silver and looks like a fairy tale world. With the completion of the Yakang Expressway, it is very convenient to reach Kangding, and the beauty of Mugecuo will be known by more and more people. Mugecuo Scenic Area consists of Fangcaoping, Seven-Colored Sea, Dujuan Gorge, Yaochi Boiling Spring, Mugecuo (Wild Man Sea), Red Sea, Black Sea and other attractions. When we went there, we were enjoying preferential policies, with a 50% discount on the basis of winter prices. The ticket price is 37 yuan/person, and the scenic area car price is 45 yuan/person. It's tempting, so take action quickly.

The scenic area is very large and the name sounds very nice. It mainly consists of lakes, hot springs, primeval forests and snow-capped mountains. Because it snowed heavily last night and the roads in the scenic area were slippery, we followed the staff's advice and bought waterproof shoe covers to wear. I didn't expect there was a red stone beach here, which was a pleasant surprise. The red stone is red because a layer of orange algae grows on its surface. The algae on the lake is also so beautiful. Soaking your feet in the hot spring at the foot of the mountain is as happy as a child! Boiled eggs in hot springs, happy eggs!

The ticket price for Mugecuo is 175 yuan. It is also known as the Wild Man Sea. It is the largest alpine lake in northwest Sichuan. The sightseeing bus will take tourists to the top of the lake, and then they will travel along the plank road from top to bottom. There will be several parking spots, Mugecuo, Yaochi Boiling Spring, and Seven-Colored Sea, where you can get on and off at any time. Since most of the lake water comes from the melted snow water of the Nuwa Snow Mountain behind, the cold wind can be clearly felt by the lake, so you must bring an extra coat. We arrived early, and there was still some mist on the lake. It didn't take long for the sun to come out, and the sunlight was sparkling on the lake. There are driveways and plank roads going down from the lake. The plank road is in the forest, with streams under your feet and towering trees next to it. It is very cool. If you have enough time, you can visit it slowly.

Mugecuo is a scenic spot that is easily overlooked when visiting Ganzi in western Sichuan. In fact, the scenery of Mugecuo is also outstanding in western Sichuan. In addition, it is located in Kangding, which is closer to Chengdu. You can consider spending a weekend to have a relaxing and pleasant tour in western Sichuan. Mugecuo is one of the largest alpine lakes in northwest Sichuan. It is more than 3,700 meters above sea level, with a water area of ​​nearly four square kilometers and a water depth of more than 70 meters. The entire scenic area is developed and built around this lake, so the core scenery of Mugecuo is alpine lakes, snow-capped mountains and vast lawns. It is very simple to play in the scenic area: take the scenic bus directly to the deepest Mugecuo Lake, and then go back in reverse in turn, get on and off at each scenic spot, and play in a bus-style way. There are many large and small attractions in the scenic area, but the core is three major areas: Mugecuo-Medicine Pool Boiling Spring-Seven Color Sea. Checking in these three places basically completes the essence of Mugecuo. Since Mugecuo adopts the method of sightseeing bus fixed-point tour, the efficiency is very high. It takes 3 hours to see the scenery in a hurry, but it takes more than half a day to appreciate it carefully. It is recommended to arrange a daytime, including the round-trip transportation. The temperature difference in the Mugecuo Scenic Area is very large, especially in the deepest Mugecuo Lake. Even if you only wear short sleeves in summer, you will feel cold. The Mugecuo Scenic Area is a great place to take photos. The blue sky, white clouds, snow-capped mountains in the distance and the nearby lake and beach are integrated into one, and you can see them all. Especially when the weather is good, it is very comfortable to watch. Soaking your feet in the medicinal pool is also a good choice. The overall experience is not tiring and very relaxing. There are shuttle buses in the scenic area that you can take, and you don’t need to climb up and down by yourself. It’s still very convenient. The only problem is that the road to Mugecuo is under repair and it’s not very good.

I went there with my family during the Dragon Boat Festival. It was like returning to spring in Mugecuo. I mainly took the elderly to play. I took the sightseeing bus to go up and down the scenic spots. It was a pity that I didn’t walk much. The air was very good. The altitude was a little high. Try not to do strenuous exercise

It is the largest lake in western Sichuan, with a wide open area and a relatively high altitude. However, the management is not very good, and there are few vehicles. When it is late, the manager is in a hurry to get the tourists out, and there are so few vehicles that the lake is crowded like a city bus all the way down.

Kangding Mugecuo Scenic Area is worth recommending. There are tourist buses in the scenic area that can go up the mountain.

Four seasons, four different feelings. This time I went in winter, and everything was bare and there was no snow.

Mugecuo Scenic Area is located in the northern part of Kangding County, the capital of Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, and is part of the Gongga Mountain Scenic Area. The scenic area is about 25 kilometers long and covers a total area of ​​300 square kilometers. It is a multifunctional scenic area for viewing lakes, forests, grasslands, waterfalls, flowers and natural landscapes, as well as water entertainment and hot spring bathing.

I don’t know if it’s because I’ve seen too many beautiful sights before or if it’s the wrong season, but apart from Mugecuo (Wild Man Lake) at the top of the scenic area, nothing else touched me much.

The guide said the tour would take about 3 hours, but we spent almost 2 hours at the Savage Lake and Dead Tree Grassland at the top of the scenic area.

I went there during the Chinese New Year last year. It was said to be the off-season, and the tickets were discounted. After reading everyone's comments, I think it's better to go in winter, when there are fewer people and you can play in the snow. In fact, when you go out to play, your attitude is very important.

A place with a particularly bad feeling. A fire broke out in the scenic area in 2012. According to local people, it was arson. The fire burned for three days and three nights. Five years later, the plank road by the Mugecuo Lake in the core scenic area on the top of the mountain is still closed. The plank road surface is damaged, the pavilions and towers have collapsed, and there is a rubble and devastation. The forest beside the lake has burned into charcoal and has not been repaired so far. There is no tour guide on the bus, and the vehicle management is chaotic. It takes an hour to get off the bus and get on the bus again. The tourists asked the bus driver about the route. After asking three times without a response, they suddenly got angry, pointed at the tourists' noses and insulted and threatened, saying, "Don't you want to go back?" The same virtue as the local Tibetans who lead horses to cheat money. After traveling in western Sichuan, the experience of Mugecuo alone was a disaster, and I will never go there again in this life. You can pass by here and go to Jiangba Grassland by car. The scenery is very good.

In fact, there are many natural landscapes like this in Tibet, and Mugecuo is just one of them. However, the sky-high ticket prices and the chaos in the parking lot of the scenic spot may be enough to visit it once in your life, and you will never go there again.

The lake is much smaller than Namtso. If you are visiting Namtso, you don't need to come. The grassland is not interesting and it is deserted even if you come here in August.

There is really nothing to see on a cloudy day, the ticket is 200... It is called the Little Jiuzhaigou, but other than the ticket price, it is really incomparable with Jiuzhaigou... The management of the scenic area is very chaotic, and the wild roads after the lake and up the mountain are difficult to walk. You have to take a tour bus to get in and out, the ticket is 100, but the queue for the bus is very long, and it takes nearly an hour to get on the bus. The wind on the mountain is very strong, and it is freezing... The people in the queue in front of them even quarreled with the management staff, and the management staff said that if you want to complain, you can complain, anyway, we can't do anything...🙄🙄

Anyway, it might be good if the weather is good, but you don't need to come if it's cloudy or rainy.

There are plank roads around the lake, and the only place to visit is the island in the lake. The island is not big, and you can visit it in about ten minutes. The only thing is that the air in the mountains is very comfortable, and you don't feel the altitude sickness at all.

We were all amazed, it felt like we had accidentally entered the snowy forests of Northeast China!

PS: There was a guy at the entrance of the scenic spot who kept selling shoe covers, saying that the snow on the mountain was very deep and that we didn’t need to worry about them at all…

Ticket + sightseeing bus: 180 yuan

You must buy a sightseeing bus, which is actually a bus that will take you up the mountain from the winding mountain road. When you go up, you will be taken directly to the terminal (which is the location of the ice lake). Then you can take the bus to the next stop to play. There are also attractions such as the Seven Color Lake and the Medicine Pool below.

The altitude of Mugecuo Mountain is quite high, and if you run and jump too much, you will still experience some hypoxia reactions, so those who are not in good physical condition should pay attention.

Note: There are shops selling dried yak beef on Mugecuo Mountain, and the price is basically 120 yuan per catty. Don’t buy it, it is too expensive and not worth it.

I have been to western Sichuan many times, but this is my first time to visit Mugecuo. Mugecuo is very beautiful in early July.

To be honest, it's not worth 200 yuan at all. The scenic area is only a small one and can be walked in a few steps.

At the entrance of the scenic area, some locals will wear cotton coats and hold oxygen tanks or rain boots to sell them to tourists, asking them to rent coats. In fact, it is not necessary, but rain protection should be prepared. Mugecuo is 3,780 meters above sea level, and you can decide according to your own situation. There are not many sales points in the scenic area. It is best to eat some food, such as noodles, at the small shop at the entrance of the scenic area, and bring enough water. The scenic area is mainly a hiking tour. Going down the plank road from Mugecuo, there will be a small river flowing down, accompanying us all the time, and also creating many landscapes, like people in a painting. This reminds me of the water in Jiuzhai. But the water in Jiuzhai is more quiet, and it is accompanied by one beautiful lake after another, while the water in Mugecuo is jubilant, singing all the way down, like a herd of horses running wildly with full energy, never tired. From time to time, there are blooming azaleas by the river, white, light pink, purple, charming and posing, competing for beauty. It started to rain, but I was still attracted by this quiet water. The water surface is very calm, with only raindrops falling in and then merging into the water. Occasionally, a few dead branches stand upright in the water, casually posing in various postures, like a creative theme for photography enthusiasts.

We were delayed for six hours due to a traffic jam at Zheduo Mountain, so we could only take a quick look at Mugecuo. The weather was not good that day, so we didn't see its most beautiful side, but the scenery was still nice.

A place I will basically never come back to. The scenic area is small and there are not many things to see. If the weather is bad, you can't see anything. Fortunately, I didn't ride a horse. In the Gold Coast, there were local residents who let me ride a horse. I came back and read the comments and realized it was a pit 🙂

The visitor center was crowded with people waiting to take the scenic sightseeing bus, pushing and shoving in the S-shaped queue, complaining. There were indeed a lot of people, because today was China Tourism Day, and the ticket to Mugecuo was free (you only need to buy a 90 yuan sightseeing bus ticket). The sightseeing bus to Mugecuo was similar to the one in Jiuzhaigou before, with stops at each scenic spot, and tourists could choose the stops to get on and off.

In the sightseeing car, I could feel the altitude rising as the front of the car kept turning, from 3,500 meters to 3,600 meters, and then to 3,800 meters... I had crossed a pass over 5,000 meters in Tibet, so I was quite calm when facing this sudden increase in altitude. The car drove for more than 30 minutes, and I felt that the heavy clouds were pressing down very low along the way, the sky was gray, and the water was dark.

If you are in good enough physical condition, it is recommended to walk down from the Gold Coast, walk through the Rhododendron Gorge and the Thousand Waterfall Gorge, all the way to Fangcaoping, playing as you walk. The journey takes about three hours.

Mugecuo Scenic Area is really suitable for taking photos

Next door, there are dead trees, blue sky and white clouds. It is very suitable to shoot from an upward perspective here. The rabbit father is photographed to look like he is about 1.8 meters tall.

A dead tree on the Gold Coast is a very popular photo location. Try to avoid passers-by and take a group of beautiful photos. Warm reminder, the water in Mugecuo is really very cold, so you should be quick when taking photos in the water.

When the sun shines through the primeval forest and sprinkles on the moss on the ground, it is so beautiful that it makes people intoxicated. It will be better to wear a white dress to take pictures in the forest.

The scenic area gives people a magical feeling. There are mountains, lakes, lakes and hot springs. If the weather is good and the season is right, it must be very beautiful.

We were lucky, we only paid 39 on Meituan, but when we got home, they refunded us!! There were hats and glasses for sale at the door, but we didn’t have to buy them, it would be a waste of money

The tickets are expensive. It was winter when I went there. The walking path was closed due to heavy snow. I just walked around the lake at the top for a while.

I went there during the Qingming Festival. It took me one day to get to Kangding and I stayed in the city for one night. It was snowing heavily the next morning. I checked the weather there before I went. It was pretty accurate.



We bought the ticket on Meituan for 180 yuan. (Ticket + sightseeing bus) There is an online ticket booking and ticket collection window at the scenic spot. ❗️❗️❗️ (You must book the ticket one hour in advance, not even a minute late).



There are three scenic spots in the scenic area. You start from the highest one, and then there are sightseeing buses at each point. You can take the bus to the next scenic spot by yourself. We only went to the Wild Man Lake (that is, Mugecuo)



💔💔💔The public services are extremely poor. Men's and women's toilets are shared. There is no water to flush the toilet or wash hands. It is recommended to bring your own waterless hand sanitizer.

There is only one lake to see, and you are not allowed to walk down the mountain, you have to take a car! There is only one attraction in the scenic area, don't come, you will regret it! There is a small shop run by local Tibetans above. You can go in and have a cup of yogurt if you have time. Overall, the scenery is pretty good. I don't know if it's because of the terrain or something else, but it was sunny in the morning, but it became windy and rained a lot soon. Keep warm

Also known as "Wild Man Sea" and "Big Sea", it is one of the largest alpine lakes in northwest Sichuan. It is 3,700 meters above sea level, surrounded by mountains and forests, and dozens of small seas such as the Red Sea, the Black Sea, and the White Sea, like the moon surrounded by stars. Mugecuo has four seasons of scenery in one day, and the sky is different in the morning and evening. In the early morning, the fog locks the sea surface, and the silver dragon-like clouds roll on the water surface, creating a moving landscape of "double fog falling into the sea"; when the breeze blows in the afternoon, the sea surface is "three feet of waves without wind, rolling thousands of piles of snow", and the beach around the sea is dazzling golden in the afternoon. When the weather is fine, looking at the snow-capped mountains in the distance, you will feel like a holy fairyland.

The horse riding fee is 135 yuan per person and you can go up the mountain. You will be pulled around for 10 yuan per circle and 12 circles or more. This will not be told to you in advance, please pay attention⚠️ The toilet at Golden Beach is super dirty. It's really 😓 I almost vomited. As for the scenery, it feels average. You can go if you haven't been there.

The view of the snow-capped mountains was just so-so. We could still see the snow-capped mountains on the way to Xinduqiao, as well as various free natural scenery. It was really a pity to come to Mugecuo, and I had altitude sickness for the whole afternoon! I guess it was because I consumed too much energy! What a rip-off scenic spot, I spent hundreds of dollars to suffer!

I signed up for a three-day tour group to Mugecuo from Chongqing, and it was such a rip-off... First, I'll tell you about the whole day's drive... I was on the bus all day, and then we arrived at Moshi Ancient Town, where all the tour groups and tourists going to Mugecuo basically stayed. I got up at 5 a.m. to go to Mugecuo, and it was another three-hour drive. When I got to Mugecuo, I had to take a 90-minute sightseeing bus up the mountain for 20 minutes. There was nothing to see on the mountain except the lake, the Seven-Colored Sea, and the stream from beginning to end. I was exhausted after going down the mountain. I basically saw these two, and there was nothing else to see. There was too little to eat in the scenic area, just yak barbecue... There was no ethnic characteristics at all. We all agreed that the scenery was suitable for taking pictures, and it looked good when taken, but it was boring to see it in person... Then we spent two days on the road for three days of travel... One and a half days in Mugecuo, is it interesting? This is the most boring scenic spot I have ever encountered, too far away

The reputation is too great, but the reception capacity is insufficient! Most tourists only visit the top of the mountain. It is just a visit!

Except for the Mugecuo Lake, the Seven-Colored Sea, and the Omacuo Lake, there is nothing to see. It is far worse than Jiuzhaigou. You are afraid of walking on the mountain. It is so tiring. Several snow-capped mountains are not as beautiful as those in Xinduqiao. The grassland in the distance is just a small lawn. It is not as beautiful as any lawn in Xinduqiao, let alone the grassland of Luojipuzhen at Gonggar Airport yesterday. The mountain was burned and bare. Is it to educate tourists to prohibit the use of fire in the wild? I think the ticket price of 60-80 is enough. Bad review!

Due to weather factors, we were unable to enjoy the beautiful scenery we had expected, and the snow-capped mountains in the distance were also covered by clouds and mist. There were not many sightseeing buses and cruise ships in the scenic area, so the waiting time was quite long. If you want to see the beautiful scenery of three-foot waves without wind and thousands of piles of snow rolling, you have to rely on good weather.

It is about 17 kilometers away from the downtown of Kangding. It consists of six scenic spots: Dujuan Gorge, Fangcaoping, Seven-color Sea, Yaochi Boiling Spring, Mugecuo (Wild Man Sea) and Red Sea Grassland. There are many other alpine lakes and hot springs nearby. The original forest, grassland and snow-capped mountain landscape blend with each other. It is a relatively mature scenic spot with complete public facilities. It takes about 40 minutes to take the scenic bus from the gate of the scenic spot to the parking lot on the top of the mountain. You can walk down slowly along the road or plank road from the top of the mountain and take pictures while walking.

The natural scenery is unique, the environment is well protected, the scenic area is well-organized, and the public design is perfect. Some places are still under construction. However, the scenery is no less than Jiuzhaigou.

It is a high mountain lake. The forest next to Mugecuo was burned by a fire in 2012. There is cow dung on the trail and the facilities are dilapidated.

Very disappointed. Not recommended.

It should be a great attraction. The premise is that the weather is good with blue sky and white clouds. When we went there, it was raining. It was cold and foggy. It was not suitable for climbing the mountain. It was a pity to visit here. Visit the main gate. Hehe

Mugecuo, "On the rolling hills, there is a rolling cloud" is a Kangding love song that I have been humming since I can remember; when I grew up, I heard "Beside the rolling hills, there is a rolling lake" which refers to Mugecuo. There is always a gap between ideal and reality. To be comparable to Qinghai Lake, Lugu Lake and Jiuhuang Lake, Mugecuo is still a bud waiting to bloom.

Mugecuo Scenic Area is composed of plateau lakes, virgin forests, hot springs, snow-capped peaks, strange mountains and rocks, and the 8-kilometer-long Thousand Waterfall Gorge. This was my first trip to the plateau, and the beautiful and colorful scenery of Mugecuo opened up my unstoppable plateau travel.

I went there twice. Although it was a little cold here in October, the colors were richer. Every place starting from the entrance of the scenic area had different characteristics. It was very suitable for walking up slowly and then taking a sightseeing bus down. No matter how many words I used, I couldn't describe its beauty. It's best to experience it in person... Hehe

Overall, it was very good. The innkeeper helped us to contact the car. Since there were only three of us, it was a little expensive. It cost 50 per person. If there were more people, it would be cheaper. However, there was heavy fog today. Since we did not rent clothes and did not bring down jackets, we were very cold and had slight altitude sickness. We bought tickets and rode directly to the last stop. Then we walked up and slowly began to have altitude sickness. We had to stop after walking a few steps because of the heavy fog. Not long after we walked, someone reminded us that there was nothing to see up there. It was all fog. We could not see the grasslands and snow-capped mountains. So we relaxed and walked down the mountain. The scenery along the way was good. Although it was covered with fog, it was still different. It was just a little cold. There was nothing else to eat. It was best to bring your own. At least if you have money to take a boat, you can go and waste it.
